Reviews of Mambo’s
Dee K
The famous oysters were so good! We waited a while to get a seat but the server took our order fast and the food came quick for how busy it was. Our cocktails came in really unique cans with a drawing of the restaurant and a few other buildings on Bourbon Street. Very cool! Most of my group ordered pasta and it was well seasoned and delicious. The bread pudding was a great way to end the meal. Mambo’s was a good choice!

So worth the wait!! Each day we was here this place had an extremely long line but let me tell you it was so worth the wait! The food was delicious and gave you a true authentic taste of the New Orleans specialties! The oysters were a huge hit in our group we all loved the taste and couldn’t get enough of them! The drink cups are in cans with a painting on them and very unique! All the staff was friendly and made it a great time! So glad we waited a long time and got to experience this place!

The staff are great, very friendly! Place is clean, good music playing..not to loud. Now the food..the alligator bites were Delicious!! The Taste of New Orleans gives you a sample of everything..and the shrimp platter was huge. The taste was excellent, the price was reasonable. They do have balcony seating but it was full.
Paola Pritchard
The service was amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The manager on duty even gave us a tour of the 3 floors and gave us a little history of the restaurant. You have to have the long Island with passion fruit rum OMG so good and the food was delicious. The alligator bites taste so good so don't be afraid to try them they really do taste like chicken.
Jis David
Nice place. Good food. Friendly and professional staff. Clean and well maintained. The food I had seemed to be a bit too salty and greasy for my taste. They have a rooftop bar where they sometimes play Bollywood songs, which is great! It's a nice place to try out local cuisine. I tried their gator nachos. First time trying out that meat and it was nice. Fairly priced with good quantity of food

Went here on a Thursday night with my partner. We were immediately seated, waited on very soon after and received our food quickly. It was a good experience through and through. The Crab Cake Pasta was very delicious and my partner enjoyed the Taste of New Orleans. Checking in with Yelp awarded us a free dessert which was their bread pudding. It was to die for! Would definitely consider coming back the next time we're in town.

We popped in here during our Labor Day Weekend stay and we so pleased!! The staff was very nice and the food was fantastic! I had the Mambo's oysters and they were to die for!! Perfect amount of cheese and sauce and perfectly grilled oysters. The BBQ Shrimp was another hit - I've had a run of bad luck with BBQ Shrimp in NOLA since Johnny's White's closed so I was THRILLED to find some with a fabulous sauce (and not sickly sweet or molasses thick like Coop's). The Bloody Mary had just the right amount of spice and their pickled green beans are soooo good! We will definitely make Mambo's a regular "must visit" when we return!

This place was phenomenal. We greatly enjoyed the food (Gator Bites appetizer, Shrimp and Grits, and the Taste of New Orleans). The atmosphere was amazing and the music was great. I can't wait to visit New Orleans again. This place is top on the list! The service provided by Madison was amazing as well!

We went here twice while visiting NOLA for 5 days. Staff are great! They are attentive, friendly and hard workers! Food are superb! A very flavorful Louisiana cooking! the prices are also affordable. Bonus: they have a rooftop bar that gives you a view of bourbon st. A great way to end the night with a view! 😊

Visiting NOLA, my friend and I ordered from Mambo’s. Getting food at 1am might be a challenge and making it GOOD is another thing. But the blackened alligator bites here were AMAZING – still warm by the time they were delivered to where we were staying.
We literally went back to the restaurant to get the gator bites again, though, unfortunately, we weren’t as impressed the second time around. The food overall, in the restaurant, didn’t reach the same expectations we had set before, though we definitely set those expectations high.
The food was good overall and our servers were wonderful! Additionally, my friend had “the best margarita” she had ever had… definitely worth a visit.
Heidi Harris
The food was amazing and worth every penny. I now have a new standard for what crab cakes should taste like. Delicious is an understatement! Soft and flaky, tasty and juicy, just delicious! Everything was great!
Nichole Moses
Absolutely, wonderful. I went around 6 pm and it was just starting to get busy with a line to be seated. I was able to walk in and go to the bar and sit with Roy, the bartender. Very personable, knowledgeable and overall nice guy. I don't eat pork, but he was able to inform me about items cooked in pork stop. I chose the Gator nachos. It was AMAZING, the flavor and the tenderness of the gator meat mixed with the crawfish mushroom sauce burst in your mouth. You will not want to share.
Let's go!
Mambo's Oysters were really good! Alligator nachos were seasoned very well. Shrimp pasta didn't have enough flavor. Friend reported shrimp & grits were good. Bread pudding was good! I go it to go. I'm sure it would've been better if eaten there.

This place was by far the best restaurant I went to on my visit to Bourbon St in New Orleans. On a town known for its food. This place impressed me the most. The staff and service were friendly, attentive, and more than anything else they were honest. They told you if it was good and if it was good. The waitress suggested I try the jambalaya pasta and it was the absolutely delicious. I couldn't even speak while eating. 10 out of 10. If you are visiting, do not pass this place up. It's worth your time and money
Expect to pay about $30 to $40 a person. It's money WELL spent.
Chris Howard
This place has a really cool vibe and delicious soul food. I got jambalaya pasta and my only complaint was that it could have been spicier. Great cocktails and what looked like a cool rooftop bar but we couldn't get up there because it was closed for a private party. And definitely get dessert.
Rita Santucci Sumney
Roof top seating outside was great. Best crab cakes I ever had but honestly TJ the waitress made this a 5 star experience. If you go there ask for her she was an amazing server.
Alisha K C
There will be a line outside to get in BUT the food and its freshness is worth the wait. We had the fried shrimp platter, Sezerac drink and the taste New Orleans platter meal. Lively place and service is good too.
KAT OLONE
Wonderful dining experience! Came for a late night dinner during Jazzfest. It was Saturday after midnight and there wasn't any waiting line. Our food came pretty fast and it was delicious! You have to try their oysters! Mouthwatering good! Had blackened red fish for main entree, which husband thought was overdone, but I enjoyed it and thought it was perfect. Also, I don't know what they do to their greens but they are the best I've ever eaten. THE BEST! Trust me I eat a lot of greens! I would come back just for how great the food was there, but I have to complement our server too! She said it was her first night but I wouldn't know if she didn't tell us. Lovely lady with a great attitude despite probably having a long crazy night with Jezzfest in town. 100% recommend!
P.S. Even the serving plates were pretty
Michelle Affek
Overall it a good dinner. The Alligator blackened and fried 50/50 was a great treat. The thin fried catfish po-boy was a tasty meal. And the gumbo had great flavor though personally I would recommend corn bread but the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because we rarely saw our waitress. Though we were in a corner so maybe it was hard to see out table or maybe she had a big party idk... but it took forever to get drinks... meals came out quick... but never was able to get refills.
latanya blakeney
Nice vibe. I enjoyed the food, and the music was cool, wasn't too loud. I had gator bites (first time eating gator) and it was delicious. My husband had stuffed salmon with green and boy did he enjoy it. I definitely recommend this place.
tom McDaniels
Not impressed at all… basic food compared to competitors.. let my tell you why !? First I would like to shine light on the waitress, she started off super nice when seating me and my girl. She guided us through the menu and suggested things for us to try given we’re new to New Orleans. I ordered *Catfish with *Gumbo, my girl ordered *Chicken Bites with *Red beans and Rice W Sausage. Also We both ordered the Mango Daiquiri.
Positive: *The Catfish! I absolutely loved the breading and the taste of the fish. It was seasoned right ! *The daiquiri was super flavorful and delicious! my girl ordered *red beans and rice and it was good, not the best in NO but good enough that she was happy with it. The chicken was cooked good as well.
Negative: The *Gumbo Was the Worst I’ve Had in New Orleans!! Probably in my life !! It was cold !! and the meat tasted like Vienna sausage out the CAN! Yuck!! 🤢 This literally almost ruined my meal and Night. Sadly they don’t offer seafood gumbo..to be honest They should not be serving Gumbo here period!! The waiter came by an asked me what I thought, I told her, and she Looked shocked And Turned away without speaking and that was the last time she came by the table !!! Super Disrespectful !! I’m sure she did it because she thought I wanted a refund ! I didn’t ! I just voiced how I felt in the most Polite way! I paid for our meals and we simply left. Horrible way to treat customers!
I honestly felt regret after eating here Knowing theirs so many Better restaurants in the area I could’ve returned too. Like acme or Felix !!

We decided to eat here because my son wanted to try the alligator bites. Restaurant was very clean. Rasheede our waitress was awesome. The service was quick. The food smacked. My son enjoy the alligator bites. They were tender and the dipping sauce was the right combination. He also had the Duck wantons. They also were delicious. I had the fried shrimp platter. The portion was very generous, had to take a to-go box. The prices were very reasonable. Definitely will return and highly recommend.
Norma De La Cruz
The food was delicious, crab cakes heavenly, etouffee was the best we've had one this trip. Brandy was very attentive and friendly.
Thank you, we will definitely be back.
Keitra McClure
Was walking by and saw a picture board that looked so good, we had to try it. Was a seasonal dish, red fish pasta ...I think. Oh goodness, it was DELICIOUS. Blackened red fish with shrimp and a pesto Alfredo sauce. Thank me later. You will not be disappointed. Also the chicken& sausage gumbo was very flavorful seemed like something my grandma cooked. I would have appreciated a lil.more rice cause they gave you so much gumbo. The service was great! Left her a good tip. AGAIN, THANK ME LATER
Priscella Thomas
Great atmosphere. We had a little bit of everything.... duck wonton were delicious, char boiled oysters were loaded. Watch out for shell tho. Bbq shrimp was really good and different. Husband had the fried seafood platter, he said it was good. We came on on Christmas day, had a little wait at the door but it was worth it. Service was great. We had Jazmine and she did awesome

First place we ate at on vacation, and it was a great choice! Waitress (which was also the bartender) was beyond helpful and sweet and food was 10/10 no complaints there. Definitely recommend stopping in!
Antoinette
Busy place nice location on bourbon street. Typically a long line, we were lucky to catch I right before it got really long. The inside was spacious with a section upstairs for dining. The food and service was good ( shout of to Maddie). Definitely will return.
Tamara Harris
Our waiter Walter was wonderful as was all the staff. The good was delicious and arrived hot and fast. The atmosphere and music wrapped it all up with a bow. Definitely will be returning whenever I visit NOLA.
Michele Smith
I was researching restaurants and came across this one. There was about a 20 to 30 minute wait when we got there but it was worth it. We decided to sit at the bar and our waitress / bartender was Jessica. She was very nice and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We ordered the Gator Nachos, Crawfish Festival, Taste of New Orleans, New Orleans Iced Tea, the special mixed drink (can't remember the name), water and a root beer. Let me tell you... The gator nachos were a meal by themselves. I did not expect the portion to be as big as it was. It had house made nachos with a Creole mushroom sauce, cheese, blackened gator and crawfish tails. The food was delicious and Jessica's service was excellent. I will defiantly be going back again whenever I'm in the area. Oh yeah... I almost forgot... There was a "shot" of Patron at end. 😳😅
Brent Blake
The line only took about 30 minutes. The wait was worth it. The best food we had during our 5 day visit. Oyster Rockefeller was amazing. My blackened ribeye was perfect and my wife's Tour of New Orleans was delicious. Would be one of the first places I would recommend to someone.
B-Randi! Ingram
The server Summer was amazing. We told her our interests and recommended the blackened chicken Alfredo. It was sooooo good. I can’t wait to travel back and eat there again. We weren’t that hungry so we actually split the plate and it was enough for the both of use. (We wanted to eat other places to experience the food culture) I did order a drink called the Bourbon St Flush and it was pretty good too. It’s right on the strip and I believe it has a roof top bar as well but we didn’t go because we were wanting to walk more of the strip. We were seated immediately with no wait on a Friday night. If I had only one day in NOLA again I would still go back to this place over trying a new one!
Tondalayer Talbert
Our waiter was awesome but some of the food wasn’t that great compared to other restaurants. The only complaints were mustard greens were too salty, the char grilled oysters weren’t as good as Desire, but the fish was great.

My friend and I decided to try Mambos when we visited New Orleans. Glad we did it was very good. The gator nachos were great! I also had the Mambo's Famous Oysters they were also very good, little heavy on the garlic and cream herb cajun sauce but still very delicious! The shrimp and grits was not much to brag about.
Kiki Kirkpatrick
This place was awesome!! Everything was great….from the fried alligator and grilled oysters as appetizers to the Taste of New Orleans platter and Blackened Redfish LaFourche. I will definitely recommend to friends who visit New Orleans. This place is a ‘must’ to come to and right on Bourbon Street with all the flavor of New Orleans!!
jen steward
Good food. Had the crabcake appetizer, outside was crispy and lots of crab inside. The mushroom sauce was good too. I had the taste of New Orleans as the main. All three were good. The red beans were extremely creamy.
Raman Sawhney
We were walking on Burbon street and stepped into this amazing place . Well seasoned and cooked food Flavor is tops ..
Tried Gator bites both grilled and fried rice would recommend the grilled one as the seasoning is delicious. BBQ shrimp which came with a bun the sauce on the base is very nice .
We had crab cake heaven for mains which is paired with mustard greens and served on a bed of shrimp rice a must have dish . Mash Paros are also differently done they are seasoned and have fine chopped red onions .. beans and rice were good too.. if on Bourbon street this is a place to eat.
In top of this amazing service and hospitality by our server Rasheeda.
Dulce Garcia
This place was ok. We stopped for a drink and snack. We had the bread pudding which was very good. We also had boudin balls and those were good so I will say the food was good. The service was horrible. It was almost like it was a bother to have us there. No suggestions, no engagement, she really didn't want to be there. Drink was cute but weak might as well had a coke. We will not be back.
Lapone Finley
Great food and great experience! We were able to enjoy the only rooftop bar on Bourban St. The drinks were spot on and the portions were very generous. We will definitely be back the next time we visit New Orleans.
Ordered:
Red Beans & Rice w/ Chicken and Sausage
Gator Nachos
Jerred Downs
Food was good, but nothing over the top. Classic Creole food. Drinks felt a bit empty on alcohol but had a good flavor. Huge shout-out to the staff and waitress we had that night, they are working very hard and deserve plenty of recognition.
Ana Jordan
Kevin was our server and he was very polite, friendly and attentive. This place only does one check but they can split it up the cards. We already had drinks so we didn't order any outside of a bloody Mary. Which was good and spicy. For food our party ordered shrimp po boy's, crab cake pasta and blackened shrimp. The crawfish etouffee was okay but nothing to write home about. We also had the the oysters (mambo and oysters Rockefeller) and they were both really good.
My girls
Everything was delicious. The alligator bites was seasoned well, crispy and good. The absolute best was the white wine garlic butter sauce that was on top on the shrimp. That should be bottled up and sold.
Ken Malin
What a great place. The food was excellent, especially the gator nachos. Service was great. The views and atmosphere was fantastic. Walking out to the small terrace or the rooftop. Awesome. Go see this place.
Eugene McCown
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. In the heart of Bourbon Street. We ordered the Fried Gator Bites, Taste of New Orleans and the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. The bites were good. The Crawfish Etoufee was wonderful, along with the Red Beans an Rice. Would’ve preferred linguini over penne pasta with the Jambalaya, but it was still good. We topped dinner off with the Bourbon Bread Pudding, which was fabulous! We will come back!
Mark Baumgart
We visited because they were one of the few still serving food after 9pm on a Sunday.
Glad we stopped in, great tasting food and atmosphere. Staff were efficient and friendly.
Had the blackened ribeye with mashed potatoes and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Not over powering on the creole seasoning like some places.
Wife had the redfish dish and was very satisfied. Very Large portion.
Young waiter was very informative about the menu and drink menu.
Recomended stop on Bourbon Street.
michael stoy
Absolutely delicious, and super fast. The staff was extremely friendly. Portions are large! Definitely had some to take home. Got the red beans and rice with fried chicken, gator bites and chargrilled oysters. All of it was delicious.
Becky Clark
Food was a 3.5, service was a 1. Our server was rude, hardly checked on us, and brought us the wrong amount of oysters. She was snippy when this was mentioned, blamed it on our table, and then ran away before we could order more. She never refilled water either.
The raw oysters were clean but not great quality. Cooked oysters were significantly better. The alligator nachos were the best thing we ordered although cold by time they reached us. The bread pudding could have been a meatball. I would give the food another chance because it had potential. However, with the awful service we received, would not recommend or return.
L A
So good! First time visiting Bourbon Street and this place was open late. Wait time was a bit long but it was the weekend which is understandable. Cajun pasta and the po boys were bomb and our server Greg was awesome and super welcoming! Highly recommend!
Ryan Lowe
I feel like this place is a tourist trap. It’s right in the middle of the French quarter. It appeals to all of the out of towners. The food was good but not great. Mediocre to say the least. There are much better options throughout New Orleans.
Ordered the penne that comes with sausage, shrimp, and alligator. The pasta was cooked to my liking and the creaminess of the sauce was flavourful.
The seafood platter was plentiful. I enjoyed the fries with cheese and topped with that seafood sauce. It was their take on Canadian poutine. Everything was deep fried with a good crunch.
3.3/5 ⭐️ form me. Convenient location but better options out there.
Carrie Brown
This was our first stop on the Tastebud Walking Tour. We sampled the fried shrimp Po boy and red beans and rice. My husband said the shrimp were good and I liked the red beans and rice. We stopped by on a different day for lunch and I had the burger. It was very good but a bit on the greasy side.
Shawn Desroches
Food was good and service was friendly enough. Although a little pricey I would return if I was looking for something to eat on Bourbon Street. No wait when I got there and food came out fast and hot.
Tab Palmisano
Finally a restaurant that salts their food! The taste of New Orleans was the perfect dish when you can't make up your mind. We were able to get the gator bites half fried and half blackened which were delicious. Our server, Jasmin, stopped by the check on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal.
brent retherford
First time here. We ordered a drink each. Long Island Ice Tea for my wife and Ambita Blonde beer for myself. We ordered a Blackened Gator Po Boy, Crawfish Poutine and Crab cakes. All 3 were delicious. Our waitress Tee was excellent. She was courteous, knowledgeable of the menu and drinks and specials. Enjoyed talking to her. Food came pretty quickly. Would definitely eat here again.
S Burnett
Service was great. The food was delicious. The Po boys were filling. The crab cakes were so good; filled with real crab meat and served with a delicious cream sauce. The crawfish etoufee was so delicious and had a good amount of crawfish.
Jamie Oakland
Visited on a Friday around lunchtime and seated immediately on the balcony (for 2). Our server/waitress was very nice and friendly - she even gave us a plastic souvenir mason jar! We ordered a couple cocktails (Sazerac and Bourbon Street Flush - so delicious) and some fries to snack on. Loved the view and atmosphere!
Angela Brown
Late night eats here....and service was prompt and attentive. Food came out fairly quickly. Oysters had a great flavor, although I found them a bit small compared to other places we tried. The gumbo, etouffee, red beans & rice came in the perfect amount to taste all three without being overwhelming.
Candis Miro
The wait was shorter than I expected and the food was really good. It's a pretty small place and was extremely busy! Our server was kind enough to take a picture for us.
I give it a 4 star cause my etufee didn't have enough rice, so I ordered a side of it. The side of rice was 3$ and looked like they scooped it with a teaspoon, haha. Both my best friend and I had to just stare at it for a moment cause it was such a pitiful portion, it made us laugh. I attached a picture xD
Kristina S
Service was incredible here! It was a rainy day and we sat inside 3rd floor. Food was good, but service was great. Thank you Walter! Also love the neon signs around the restaurant
Helen Teeples
Was a bit of a wait to get in to eat. BUT tons of people watching on bourbon. Our waitress Victoria was the best. We ordered the crawfish poutine. Oh man those fries so good wanted more spice and maybe crisper fries. My mom had the gumbo and enjoyed it. We than had red beans and rice. Jambalaya. And crawfish etoufee. Would hace preferred a little more spice but good meals. Overall it was good.
Scott Forsythe (Forssa's personal account)
The po' boy is truly enormous! All of the food is great and the service was sound. If you are there to eat as a restaurant, however, be sure to visit before dusk. There was a line to get in after 6.
Rachel C
Great food! One of the few places that stay open late at night for dinner. Staff were very friendly! I had Louisiana Style Crabcakes, Fresh Oysters & a couple Absolut Mules Cocktails. Food was fresh and delicious! Cocktails we’re great too!
Ashley Young
So good! Those red beans and rice with fried chick was hittin hard! My fiancé had the seafood Cajun pasta and that was so good! I also suggest getting one of the mules that come in this cute takeaway cup to keep as a souvenir! Really great place that’s wonderful for a dinner to get the night started or a place to sit and people watch!
Cheree Smith
Great food, service and ombiance. Will definitely go back next time I visit Bourbon Street/NOLA
The Taste of Orleans, Shrimp Poboys and Red Beans & Rice with chicken were delicious 😋
Michelle Huck
Oh man! We had gator nachos & crab cake pasta. I’ve never tasted anything like it. Every single bite was delicious! Highly recommended!!
wayne terry
We went here one of our first days in New Orleans and ended up going back our last day just to eat there one more time. The crawfish poutine is outstanding! Taste of New Orleans and Po Boys are all excellent. Best Sezerac in town.
Sabrina Darden
Must have reservations if not you have to wait outside. I was not impressed with this restaurant the food appeared to be old and the rice was hard but the drinks were good. The customer service was very good.
Tarun Yadav
Food and service was good. Etouffe was disappointing, but everything else was good. Hurricane cocktail was better than Pat OBriens; Alligator meat and Crayfish Nachos were delightful; Shrimp and Grits were delightful; dessert - Bourbon Pecan Pie was great too. Just Etouffe was poor. But, RECOMMEND
Max Dziengelewski
Definitely a fun environment but be sure to get there early they fill up quick!!! All the staff were amazing and rhe southern hospitality is definitely alive there. Got the Gator nachos, blackened shrimp Po Boys with Poutine Fries and the Taste of New Orleans sampler... Mambos gets a 10/10 from me and will be a recommendation from me to everyone coming down to New Orleans.
D Hutch
I don't like to give less than 4 stars but it is what it is. This was our first dinner stop on our first night in New Orleans. I read the reviews and that is what drew me to this place and also the rooftop bar which was actually closed and not opening until 7:00pm. Nonetheless, our dinner was just okay, it wasn't horrible it just was okay. It could've been what I ordered as well. I ordered the seafood pasta and the sauce was just okay and the penne pasta was overcooked with some pieces being stuck together which created big lumps of pasta. Since we're in New Orleans I was expecting the sauce to be more spicier, more cajuny but it was edible, I've had better. However, my husband seemed to enjoy his burger.
Destiny
If you’re looking to try a dish that is out of your comfort zone- this is the place to go to. Alligator nachos & Cajun Pasta were DELISH! Worth the small wait for a table & the price was not outrageous.
Naimah
Food was delicious!! I ordered the stuffed salmon. Even the mustard greens were good. Definitely recommend

Visited Mambo's for dinner with my daughter on 08/06/21. We were on a mini vacation coming from Miami, Florida and this restaurant came highly recommended by a New Orleanian friend. There was a 30-minutes or more wait time to get in but the food was incredibly delicious especially the bread pudding we had for dessert. The ambience was more for a younger crowd though. There was music, people dancing provocatively in the street, and majority were not wearing a mask. I love the food but not the environment.
Marsha Ann
The food was alright. The Taste of New Orleans was very disappointing tho. It just looked and tasted like 3 bowls of bean sauce. The char grilled oysters were cooked very well, and tasted pretty good even tho I don't like oysters. Our waiter was friendly but it sure took a long time for us to be seated inside, we were on a line outside. My drinks were very good, especially the hurricane! My son ordered a char grilled shrimp po'boy and that actually had alot of flavor. The place has a nice vibe with 90s R&B music playing the mix. I would eat here again, I just don't want to have to wait in a line for half an hour to get in again.
Chentel Cross
Found this place merely cause it was one of the few restaurants that were open when we got into town. Best hidden gem ever!!! The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and our waitress was a beast. Will definitely be adding this place to my favorites.
Victoria Lucas
My friend would rate it 5. I didn't love his food, but he did and that's what matters lol. So a 4 from me because it's my review lol.
Shout out to our server Walter. Honestly the nicest waiter. Trust his recommendations. I had crab cakes (forgot to snap a pic) that were good. But honestly those gator nachos! JESUS be a waistline. We got the gator "half n half" meaning half were blackened and half were fried. Slammin'. Good drinks too. And the bread pudding is worth it.
Enjoy!!
Klaudia Ortega
Fun venue with good service and a nice rooftop view. Food fell flat on flavor and did not blow us away. Recommend the fried shrimp platter.
Amber Crossland
The pasta was something to write home about. Crabcakes were filled with crab, but way too much stuffing for my liking. What won us over was the duck wonton with the sweet and spicy chili dipping sauce. WOW! Creole spices were definitely there and the server was good. There was even a giant alligator lit up on the ceiling, talk about a conversation starter!
Sweetness Rima
The food and vibe at Mambo's was amazing. For it being the first time in NOLA the food was a good impression. The fries poutin was good. The poboy was amazing ... Please check my YouTube Channel SweetnessRima !!!

Loud, semi-crowded, Bourbon Street bar with absolutely delicious food! I wouldn't suggest it for a date night but if you're hungry for some good Ole southern/Cajun food, head in!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Tara Howe
We had gumbo, crab cakes, fried crawfish tails, hushpuppies, and oysters. Food was excellent. Service was good.
Nathaniel Landis
This was my wife and I's first stop on vacation, and man, they set the bar very high! We got the alligator nachos to share and I got the taste of New Orleans platter. I was in food heaven! The nachos were delicious. The chips themselves are thick and don't get soggy from the sauce. The sauce and alligator meat were delicious. The platter came with chicken and sausage gumbo, crawfish etouffee and red beans & rice with smoked sausage. Portion sizes were great and for me, this was certainly in the top, if not the best place we ate while here!
Tara
Really yummy salmon chili special and Buffalo chicken po boy. Drinks were watered down, it was like drinking fruit punch, then they charged me for an extra shot.… It took way too long to get our check, but I guess that makes it a great place to dine and dash.
Nelly
Our first restaurant here in New Orleans was mambos! The cocktails were delicious! We all ordered margaritas which started the night off great!
We dove right into the classics. Starting with the crab cakes which were mostly filler and not so much crab. Very dense but the sauce made up for it.
We had to order both the fried and blacked gator bites. I highly recommend the blackened over the fried! The dipping sauce was pretty tasty as well.
The crawfish etouffee was so flavorful. Rice was nicely cooked.
The blackened ribeye could have been plated better. Although the ribeye was perfectly cooked, the sides were not so memorable.
Our server was just an absolute joy! Tended to our every need even though the restaurant was very busy.
Elizebeth Mohan
The service was quick. The food is good but could be a bit greasy. The staff was courteous. Good quantity food. The wait could be bit long.
Shauntrice Renee
The oysters were good, my drink was delicious, the crab cake pasta was okay, my overall experience was great my waitress was just bomb and me and my grip had a good time here.
Generose Preston
Food tasted great , the fried alligator was better than any boneless chicken wings I had ever had. The Alfredo pasta was the best pasta I have ever had.
Ron BeLieu
The atmosphere was cozy and food so good. We had a blackened redfish with shrimp over penne pasta with a creamy pesto sauce.
Jessi Clark
Highly recommend the gator nachos, they were delicious. Some of the oysters were out of this world while others were so so. Crawfish etouffee was tasty but not the best we have had. The bread pudding was amazing... could not recommend it enough. Three stars are due to the service that we experienced in the restaurant. Our waitress was rather rude, and seemed annoyed when we would ask her a question. She became defensive when someone at the table believed they had ordered a full dozen oysters instead of the half the table had received. It made us feel unwelcomed.
Shakia Love
YOU MUST GO! Greg was a delightful server and made sure we enjoyed the experience. I had a dirty martini that was PERFECT! We ate late evening appetizers and all were AMAZING! DUCK Wontons - 5 star!, mambo oysters, and chicken/sausage gumbo!
RuthAshley Taylor
Great restaurant. Great service. Delicious food and it came out hot and fast! Loved our server and the food. Highly recommend.
David Zeledon
Restaurant with multiple floors and one of the best views of Bourbon street. Went for a themed event with open top shelf bar and buffet style food, and hands down couldn’t have gone wrong.
Sophinaarts
Love this place, especially eating on the rooftop.
Some food was lightly salty but otherwise was good.
The cocktail was great 👍.

We came to mambo's for our first night in new orleans. The food was alright (taste of New Orleans, seafood platter, gator nachos) but unfortunately it took so long for food to be brought up. Drinks were ok.
Camila López
Great food, got to try the carnival pasta, the poutine entree and alfredo pasta 10/10 pretty tasty. The portions are big enough and the vibes by themselves in the restaurant were pretty chill loved it!
Virginia Berquist
GATOR bites blackened, Duck Wontons and Taste of Louisiana! Awesome food and Steamboat Willie was playing. Very FUN!
Fiona
Very busy during peak hours, do make a reservation.
Loved the Mambo Oysters. Nice setting. The rooftop patio was closed. And the bartender was just... Not meant to be a bartender. It takes a certain kind of personality, and I realize everyone is short on staff - but, meh. Over all, ok, but nothing special.
Justin Gill
Mambo's was fantastic! Loved the food! We had the Louisana Crab Cakes, Crab Cake Pasta Crawfish Poutine and Crawfish Etouffee.
Maria Aldaco
Took about 10mins after being seated for a server to come to our table. I try to be understanding but there were only 3 tables & 2 servers, so I don't feel it should have taken that long for a server to greet us. I got a blackened buffalo chicken poboy, my husband ordered oysters, & an alligator poboy which were all good. It's just the customer service that needs a little work.
Preston Kirkendall
Cajun fries were out of this world, topped with a cheese and their homemade crawfish mushroom cream sauce... Beat loaded fries I've ever had in my life! We tried the buffalo oyster poboy which was also delicious! Highly recommend Mambo's to anyone looking for some good Cajun cooking on Bourbon
bhawna oberoi
Ashley was great. Truth and dare drinks are good. Dare is more tangy. Love it. Gator nachos are a must.
Carrie Chlebanowski
Got a seat right at the window and was greeted quickly by friendly server. Got the Mambo's oyster special as starter and thought it was fantastic. The grilled redfish with greens and cheesy grits was the perfect first night in NOLA dinner. Hubby got the sampler of gumbo, ettoufe and red beans and rice and was very pleased as well. Bread pudding was totally worth getting as well.
Tim Quigley
Great place...food was quite tasty....Ceecee?..bartender suggested the crab cakes blackened...quite excellent!!....also had the jambalaya which was good as well!
Jojari Cannon
Delicious! Was worried it was gimmicky based on location but everything we had was delicious! The duck wontons were soooooooo good! I would come back just for those!
Charlotte Baker
Absolutely LOVED our meal. This was the first time eating at Mambo's for our entire group, every single one of us LOVED our food!
Chimp Travel
Service was amazing! Ordered the blackend gator po boy, chargrilled mambo oysters, and a koolaid. Everything was tasty. Would recommend this as a must go spot.
Charlie Robinson
5 stars because of our amazing bartenders. Shrimp Po Boys were just ok. Place was hopping.
Joseph Feliciano
One of my favorite places to eat when on Bourbon Street. They have their own take on classic creole cooking. Their gumbo is creamy and tasty, their catfish is high quality. Just looking for a view and a cocktail, this is your spot. The staff are always warm and welcoming. Everything about this location is fantastic, I highly recommend this place for a filling lunch or a great dinner.
nichole williams
I had the best food and my son enjoyed his food also we love the Mambo Oysters and Red Beans and Rice / Chicken ... they are a must try.
Isal L
I decided to give it a try because there was a line of people waiting outside and it has more than 4 stars reviews so I assumed the food would be great but unfortunately that wasn't the case. It's just ok. Waitress was nice, and eager to to please, they serve you quickly but the food didn't meet my expectations. There is no chargrilled oysters, I guess it's more like a souffle oysters if that exists, the crabcake was average, the rice was like whatever. Bottomline it was ok, but nothing blew my mind to be honest.
Jennifer Hendrick
First time to try oysters and these were pretty good. My husband had the blackened redfish and loved it. We also tried the Barbeque Shrimp and it was no bad, but alot of sauce for such a small amount of shrimp. It was probably my least favorite. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, and we got right in, even with a party of 11.
Tanya Hamilton
First time in New Orleans and wanted to try authentic southern food. Food was wonderful and service was great. We'll definitely be back.
Cory Inglis
Amazing experience for the only rooftop bar on burbon. Didnt get food just drinks and they are extremely refreshing. I got tropical storm and my wife got the swamp tea. Definitely hit this place up its a great atmosphere with even better music.
J. Lamar H.
This place is excellent everything you want to taste of New Orleans is right here I haven't done the food tour yet but I bet you this is somewhere on the list. This place is packed all the time it is best to get there early if you try to get there for dinner prepare to wait but the staff is friendly Southern and very hospital. And the food is great my recommendation do the taste of New Orleans this way you can get a sample of everything that New Orleans represent when it comes to food. Hands down this is probably one of the best places I would recommend out of anything in New Orleans has to offer because you get everything right there on the strip right there in the heart of New Orleans right there where you get the soul and the spirit.
tbbucsfan413
I have been to Nola many times and never thought about trying a oyster. But this time I decided to give it a try. And Lordy. Amazing. They was good. The flavor was so good. Ain’t even trip about eating something slimy lol
Trisha Rose
They were short staffed so I feel bad posting less of a review. I got the fish po boy, barbecued shrimp, and a Cajun cocktail. The po boy was OK. The shrimp and cocktail were both very good. My husband got oysters and thought they were very good. I felt bad they were short staffed but our waiter, dispite forgetting a few things, was great. Worth the short wait, and I was able to get a drink while waiting in line which was nice.
Muizz A.
I had a crawfish etouffee with alligator tails. Loved the texture, everything came out great and the waiter was very pleasant. There was not a huge wait line which was very nice.
Joyce Parker
Gator Nachos! Oh wow!
It would be so easy to over season or over salt this dish. They didn't.
This was so delicious 😋
Dece, the bartender, was so professional and friendly.
Thomas Zavaleta
Food tasted good but was uninspired. The po-boys were on the better side. The gumbo, étouffée, and red beans were fine. Not bad but not great. Felt the price was a little high for the quality. This may be due to the location on bourbon street. Atmosphere was nice. Part bar, part restaurant.
Michael Twyford
Came to New Orleans for a PO boy sandwich and some local beer! Found them both right here! There was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. Fresh food and fresh beer! Atmosphere was nice and a good place to relax and have a meal with the family!
machelle decker
Food was amazing. Prepared quickly and perfectly. Our server, Ponce, was absolutely incredible. Answered all questions and made us feel very welcome. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
KING MORRIS
Was an extremely long wait to get but it was soooo worth it. I tried alligator for the first time ever and WOW!!!! It was so good both the fried and blacked version. The Carnival Pasta I will order from here every time I visit New Orleans yes it was that good. The etouffee was good to along with the blackened catfish. The drinks are also STRONG to which was a major bonus for me.
Jordan Rojas
This is the first time I've been to New Orleans and this is the first restaurant I chose to eat at & I was totally pleased! There was a line because it was about 6pm on a Saturday night but the wait wasn't too long. I ordered fried gator bites for an appetizer and they were awesome! Then had a blackened gator po boy and it was equally impressive. The service was perfect & so was the food. 5 stars for sure for this place!
Melki Mourad
You'll wait in line to get in..maybe for around 20 mins or so but it's well worth it. Truth or Dare drink is pretty good. The redfish was delicious
Atlee Alan Walters
Great atmosphere. Staff was friendly and courteous. The food and drinks were outstanding. Definitely a place to stop at while on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
Cassie Jones
Really good food! Dinner at 3:00 AM! Service was suspect, but they were so crowded!
Elayne Licerio
Food was good but the rolls were cold. I noticed they automatically add the gratuity to your check which would explain our waitress disappearing, no refills, forgetting our apps, etc. No motivation to get tipped lol anywho it was a good dinner and we enjoyed our night :)
Crystal Lee
We were looking for a quick & not-too-heavy lunch bc we had a cooking class in a couple hours but was hungry NOW. So we went with the gater bites and gator nachos. We shared the nachos and had to take the bites with us bc we were stuffed. The serving of nachos was bigger than we expected. The service was a little slow but this experience was totally worth it. The gater nachos were the bomb. I'll be dreaming about them. Definitely plan to visit again. The rooftop was a great atmosphere.
Martha Sudbeck
LOVED IT HERE! We found this place just walking down Bourbon Street. We actually got in right away which I don’t think is common based on other reviews. Their food was absolutely amazing!!! But the staff was what won my heart. They were all so sweet and friendly. If we ever see New Orleans again, Mambos will be revisited.
Joel Flowers
The Taste of New Orleans (Crawfish Ettouffe, Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice), Gator bites, and Gator Nachos are the bomb. Their service is excellent. Don't think about it, just go.
Carolina Waithunguri
Best Gator Nachos and blackened shrimp po boys we ever had , hands down!! My expectations were quite met. If you are down in Nola, this is a must drop in.
Matt Lewis
I went to Mambo's Saturday, Sunday and Monday this week during my visit to New Orleans. I enjoyed the food and service so much that I went all three days for dinner. What made the experience even better was a server by the name of Tameesha. She was the best part of my group and I's experience. She was amazing, attentive, had knowledge of the menu and drinks. Very sweet young woman, who deserves more recognition! If anyone visits Mambo, definitely ask for Tameesha, you won't be disappointed! And be sure to try their Gumbo, Catfish, Crab cake alfredo, Brownie and Cheesecake, all very delicious menu items. And I can't forget New Orleans specialty drink, the Zarzarc!
Debra Coleman
I ordered the crab cake pasta. It was so good!! Real crab cake. The sauce was amazing! (I got extra sauce).
Yolanda Williams
We visited here while on our trip in August and fell in love with Jessica! She is an awesome bartender! She treated us so nice that we came back for a 2nd night. The food was great as well as the atmosphere but Jessica made it that much more exciting. She has a great personality and makes great drinks!!
James Williams Sr
The bread pudding with vanilla ice cream was what bread pudding is supposed to be, moist and flavorful , the salmon was cooked and seasoned well but the crabcake was not "WORLD FAMOUS! " The crabmeat in it was a smear of crab claw meat which doesn't qualify it as a crabcake. I am from Baltimore, we (KNOW) crabcakes, and that ain't one! The cocktails were great though. Mr.Roy the bartender was great.
Chelsea Roe
The food was pretty decent, very flavorful, especially the pasta, the Kahlua cake, and the alligator nachos. Our waitress seemed to be the only one really doing anything on the floor (seating people, taking orders, mixing drinks, handling bills) so she was hard to get a hold of when we were trying to cash out. But we understood since she was so busy. The low stars for service isn't for her but for a guy from the kitchen who was walking by and aggressively asked my spouse (both of us are women) what was wrong with the leftover food. We explained nothing was wrong with it we had just ordered too much food. He then got snippy and said he'd just have to throw it out. Ok? We can't take it with us because we're in a hotel room with limited space and no way to reheat the food anyway. Not that nachos reheat very well anyway. Our entire table just sat there in shock as he then grabbed the plate and glared at us while taking it away. Then as we were heading for the elevator he followed us and got within our personal space and said "have a good night" in a rather snippy and sarcastic tone. It was very startling and I don't think we'll be returning.
Apache Whitfield
I enjoyed this place Even though everyone says Draco is better. This is my first stop for Char-Grilled oysters and then Gator bites or to die for their staff is friendly and kind, attentive and professional. You would be wrong not to tip them I do recommend Mambo's, char grill, oysters and the Rockefeller ones as well. But look over the whole menu because it's not just about oysters here. There's so many other things that you can enjoy. Make sure you check the specials or drinks they are not bad at all a great place to enjoy yourself, especially if you love food.
rita gonzales
We ate at this restaurant when in New Orleans last weekend celebrating our 10 year anniversary with a huge group of friends. The food was delicious!!!! The shrimp poboy, alligator nachos, and shrimp pasta were some of our favorites! They played great music and the place was very clean. The staff was amazing! Awesome service! I actually forgot my purse there and didn’t realize until I was back in Houston. They were awesome and said they had my bag and tried to find me on fb… wow! Who does that?! Nice to know there are still good people out there and I’m former grateful for them . Luckily two friends extended their stay and we’re able to get my bag. We will definitely be back to eat here every single time we are in New Orleans! I highly recommend!! Also, they have a rooftop bar at night that looks awesome!
Darnell Payne
Southern hospitality at its finest.. we had like 3 lovely ladies who checked on us constantly made sure our every wish was completed.. even something small like I wanted more rive in my beans they were accommodating and nice about it. I walked past at first and saw the crunchy seafood platter had to go in for lunch
Roseatta Jones-Turner
I had a not so good experience with the seafood platter I ordered. The fish was hard, dry, and only batter no fish inside. The fried oysters were extremely small and mostly batter, the shrimps were tough and rubbery and the other items on the plate I just left, because I knew it would be like the rest of the platter. It was like everything was precooked, warm not hot.
Kishon Griffin
Omg! I absolutely love this place. Definitely exceeded my expectations on service. Everyone was extremely nice and attentive. I had a gumbo good flavor only one problem I had the gumbo was room temperature .Could have been hotter other than that I’ll be back. Shout out to Walter my waiter and Sunni they both are Amazing ask for them…
Sora 2413
Everything was really, we had three people in our party on a weekend and they got us in pretty fast. The service was good but a little slow, which wasn't a big deal. The food there was amazing, one of our party got their mambo oyster, I normally hate them but they were fantastic. Would recommend.
Corey Durham
Excellent seafood right on Bourbon Street!!! Everything we had was amazing.
Yoli H
The Cajun crawfish poutine was so good! First time having alligator and it was good too. Reservation recommended if you don’t want to be in line.
Jesse Marciniak
Great food and service with the duo of Ashley’s. Get the blackened gator bites, shrimp and grits and king cake for desert if your in town for Mardi Gras.
Gena Williams
We came here after a long drive just to get to the state. It was one of the 2 restaurants still open past 9. They weren't able to take a reservation for our party of 8 with such late notice however they were still able to seat us once we arrived. The line went by really fast and our server was delightful. LOOK at these portions!! The fish is immaculate and the tator sauce is delicious (not many places can get it right) the French fries were well salted and so crunch.

My waitress had great customer service and hospitality. The food was AMAZING. I had the mambos famous oyster and the taste of New Orleans (highly recommend) I will come back
Amanda Mata
Glenda was our server. Very sweet and answered all the questions we had.
Always checked on us, making sure we were fine and had what we wanted.
The food was GREAT!!!!!
Definitely recommend coming here.
We got the alligator tail bites - blackened AND the Bucktown Seafood Platter.
YUMMMMM!!!

Mambo's was a great find on a hot day navigating the French Quarter. The service was top notch. Tiffany was personable and attentive. The manager took time to ask us about our experience, which was most appreciated. The blackened shrimp poboy and seasoned fries were delicious. The gator nachos were very good as well. The oysters were good but not the best in the city. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Mambo's and will definitely be a repeat customer.
Brian Cofone
Been coming to the quarter for years but first time here. This is the only balcony on Bourbon Street to live up to hopes or expectations nowadays. Everyone else dissapoints. They are still new and maybe trying to make a name. The others are sitting on their laurels and think they don't have to try anymore because the stupid tourists don't know any better. They were super friendly and the prices were fair. Dessert was delicious. Balcony is the largest on Bourbon.
Keisha Lewis
Food was quick and amazing!! We made reservation but ended up just getting in line which ended up being quicker😊 our server was great her name was Whitney!! She was very friendly and helpful and made sure to take care of us the hole time!! Definitely will come back and recommend this place!! …
Erika
Most of the food was flavorful and decent portions. Service was attentive and friendly. The cocktails were ok but nothing special - way too sweet and barely any alcohol in the drink special. Diners who are hungry, BEWARE - the kitchen was ridiculously SLOW! We waited an hour from the time we ordered until our food finally arrived, and one of the meals was lukewarm (not a good impression for seafood) while the rest were fresh. I would absolutely order takeout from here, but won’t bother to eat there in person again.
Marina B.
Service- great.
Portions- big.
Food - average or even below average.
I had fish platter and my partner ordered jumbo oysters. Fish didn’t have any flavor, and fries were different (can’t say it was good, just different). My partner said the oysters were ok.
Emma Pave
Hands down the best cheesecake I have ever had the pleasure of eating! I also got the blackened ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the mambo’s blackened redfish he very much enjoyed it! We had it delivered to where we are staying and it arrived hot like it was just served to us. This place is 100% worth every penny and I will definitely order again next time we visit! Compliments to the cooks they are phenomenal!
Emily Jarrard
I feel very passionately about this restaurant right now. This food is seriously so good and our server TK is a sweetheart. Shrimp and grits, crawfish étouffée, and bread pudding are a must try! Also, they were very welcoming of my puppy being inside by the windows during a storm, brought her water and everything. Thank you guys!! 💛
karla Robertson
The food was amazing but most importantly the server was super friendly and kind
Delilah Carr
The gator nachos are to die for! I loved everything here. Service and food were excellent.
Tawana Preston
The food was great..hands down the best food I had in New Orleans
Jose Guerrero
There are so many places to choose from in NOLA. We made the right choice to dine in at Mambos. The service is great. The food is delicious. They also have great drinks as well. The atmosphere is great and very calm. You can enjoy a great conversation without the restaurant being loud. I definitely recommend trying it out plus is on bourbon st.
M Dillard
The good was delicious. The frozen margarita is the best I've ever tasted. A gem in the middle of Bourbon street. Try the alligator nachos or a poboy. Roy the bartender was amazing!
Suzanna Arviso
Food was excellent! TAMESHA made some suggestions on food and drinks, and we ran with her suggestions and we are happy!! Great food and service!
Michael Marcus (Marcus 360)
Mambo's was a nice experience. The food was good, the wait staff friendly and helpful. The bartender was super nice. Even when slammed thr bartender kept their cool and made every drink perfectly. For a nice laid back experience on Bourbon Street give Mambo's a try.
Halie Richards
Try the oysters (charbroiled) omg delicious!!! We had the oysters, alligator, taste of New Orleans, red fish, and bread pudding. All the dishes were great. Oysters had amazing flavor (even better with Tabasco on them) and the alligator was great! Alligator was a little salty but great Cajun flavor. I liked that it wasn’t deep fried so you could see and taste the alligator instead of the breading like most places. The red fish was a good dish. Flavor was good, not fishy at all. The mustard greens were ok (not a fan of them anyways but tried them) and the taste of New Orleans was just ok. We ordered it for our niece who has never had Cajun food. It’s a good little sampler. The gumbo was ok. I probably wouldn’t order that dish again. Everything else was really good. We finished with the bread pudding and added a scoop of ice cream and it did not disappoint! So good! Highly recommend that! The oysters and bread pudding were my top favorites. The service was also real good. 100% would recommend this place.
Shayan Joobbani
Great food, good prices, nice location, and very friendly staff.
Vasana de Mel
NO HEAT in restaurant during Christmas chill so it wasn't as cozy a dining experience as we'd hoped.
Food seems to be pre-prepared & assembly line plated back of house. So it came out fast, we ate fast, and left!
Best dish was the Greens as it was the most authentically textured & tasting African "relish" as we'd tasted in NOLA so far.
Mahmoud ElAwadi
Amazingggggggg seafood , their seafood mixed blackened by platter was more than enough for 2 of us . The red bean & rice along the krispy chicken was very tasty but I saved the best to the end which is their Mambo’s oysters cooked fresh on the grill with garlic & cheese . Wow wow wow . So good and the service was amazing .
Mark Maze
We ate here twice on our vacation. They have great oysters Rockefeller. They had a special dinner that had blackened red fish on pasta. It was great. The staff is very professional and attentive.
Jared Day
Highly recommended great prices and vibes. I really enjoyed this place. The nachos were fantastic and had gator and crawfish with a deeply flavorful sauce. I was not expecting nachos to be the stand out things I this trip. We also had a really nice server. I have also heard this place has great balconies.
Jay Turner Jr (Jay)
The Service was great. She was a little busy but she was sweet. The food tasted great. You may have to wait a little minute before you get to the rooftop. We were instructed that people order their food and usually hangout for some time before actually leaving. We was told it may be a 45min wait. Other than that everything was perfect.
Kris Holly
Food was great. Gator nachos amazing. Staff was attentive.
Char I
Our server Breanna was really great. She was really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The alligator bites were really good, we added them to our shrimp plate and they gave us a huge portion. The shrimps were huge but they were a little overcooked making them hard. The fries were perfectly crispy and the hush puppies were so good we ordered an extra side of them. I also had a NOLA blonde beer because it was just so humid out that the beer was perfect to cool me down. The wait was long, about 40min but we went out there around 10pm so it was pretty packed on bourbon and all the restaurants had lines. Place was nice inside and clean. All the staff from the man at the door, lady that sat us, and the server had excellent customer service.
Ericka Buyco
Location right in the craziness of Bourbon street. We came on a Friday evening 10:30pm and there was a very long rowdy line to get seated. Luckily we made a reservations weeks in advance. The food is mediocre- gator chicken was ok. The Rockefeller oysters were very rich! Service was great though! We wanted to sit on the balcony but it was not available.
Fionnuala Trench
Amazing alligator nachos!!!!!! Jasmin was a great server we had a very enjoyable experience
Chris Lindsey
I came in for a little late evening meal. This was my first time dining here. I got the Taste of New Orleans. It came with Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, and Red Beans and Rice with Smoked Sausage. This was an excellent way to try different foods famous in New Orleans. This was a good stop and do recommend.
Selena C
We enjoyed coming here for the first time. Our server was so sweet and helpful. All the staff was very accommodating. We particularly LOVED the red beans and rice with the sausage! I could eat bowls of that stuff! Something so simple but made so good.
Hopalynn Buffalo
Another must when in NOLA! Everything was delicious! Expect a wait so go before you’re super hungry, but it’s worth it. The staff is amazing even when busy, drinks are delicious, and food is tasty!
Crystal Kingsbury
Delicious food! Had the mambo oysters, gator nachos, and blackened red fish. All were amazing. What made every thing even more enjoyable was our waitress, Whitney. She was so friendly and helped us decide what to order and gave us some local recommendations as well! Awesome service!
Noah van Lienden
The venue was quite cozy with a lot of indoor seating, but we had the chance to sit outside on the rooftop. The food was nicely prepared and for a very adequate price (for the location). Overall a great experience but not out of this world. Definitely a nice place to stop by but not a must visit.
Tamika Anderson
Food is amazingly good. Ate there 2 days back to back. The gator bites, the taste of new orleans and grilled oysters (mouth is watering). Kevin was great the first night with the recommendations.
Hennessy Collins
Jasmin was great 👍 The customer service was prompt and satisfying👌 Food was amazing. Two nights in a row for that Blackened fish pasta with shrimp. I was recommended several places to eat but not this one. I definitely recommend Mambo's
K B88
Amazing food and great place! Decent prices, only downfall was the waitress we had, she was very rude and not friendly. All the other staff seemed great though!
Gaby Sanchez
Rasheeda was the BEST server - so genuine, sweet and attentive! We ordered the fried oysters, gator nachos, a burger and shrimp pasta - all of it was incredibly delicious! We also ordered dessert... to go!
A A
Tasty food. Recommend the blackened fish. Great customer service but the queue to get in was LONG! Worth the wait time.
A lil pricey but highly recommended.
myranda detert
The wait was a half hour but I would definitely say that it was worth it. We sat at the bar and she was do nice and fast at what she was doing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Zach Scharton
Before we speak to the restaurant that is Mambo, I feel like it is more important to speak to the service and experience we encountered, which would only be possible from Ms. Jasmine aka Jazz.
First of all the name Jazz, what better name for a Bourbon St experience? She was welcoming, personable, warm, knowledgeable, friendly, met us with a delightful energy, and was sweeter than the finest Louisiana cane sugar.
This woman did not only provide excellent service, but was an ambassador for the entire city of New Orleans. She could not have made the first Christmas Eve with my better half any more special.
NOW! On to the food! As most of yall are doing now, we did our research and we zeroed in on the crab cakes, oysters and blackened red fish, all covered in their crawfish mushroom cream sauce. And my danged ol goodness, did it deliver! This food was SO excellent, it was worth the 15 hour road trip all on its own.
We ate at some of the finer eating establishments in the city, and nowhere did we find a better experience than at Mambo.
Our lovely Jazz hit us with drink recommendations that were so good I can't even tell you the name. What I do remember was the Tropical Storm we ordered later and that was one of my favorite drinks all weekend.
Jazz was quick and ready to tell us about all the lovely dessert options, but let us know that if we came back with the receipt, we could get a free bread pudding. Our schedule did not allow a return visit, but we surely appreciated the offer.
To put it to you plainly, if you find yourself in the city of New Orleans, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not visiting Jasmine and trying them crab cakes!
Lliane Covington
Walter was a fabulous server and professional representative of this establishment. Our food was delicious! I tried mustard greens for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed them. Thanks for a great experience!
Crystal Morales
Great waitstaff and food. Was a bit of a wait for a table but worth it!
Phillip P
Awesome restaurant!!! Great atmosphere and food too. Po-boys are huge so have an appetite when you arrive!! Crab appetizer was insane!!! Highly recommend this place

Food was good. The portions are huge, especially the fried food. Service was slow, considering it was empty didn't really make sense. Waitress was polite though.
Nicole Nelson
If you ever get the chance to book their rooftop party for New Years Eve or Mardi Gras do so without hesitation! This was the most fun, safe, and cleanest party on all of bourbon! My husband and I danced the night away with friends from 4 different states we met at the party. We will definitely be coming back next year
connie robertson
It was tasty Nola food and drinks. Unfortunately, the waitress did not bring my husband what he ordered even after returning to the table a second time to clarify his order. He was too hungry to send it back.
Jules G
Absolutely amazing. From the guy at the door to our server, the 3rd floor bar tender Chris. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. The food was also delicious. Go with the blackend gator, never had better. Jambalaya and Carnival pastas both brilliant choices with tasty jalapeno puppies on the side
Rhonda Ransdell
Absolutely one if the best BBQ restaurants I've ever eaten at. I loved the gift shop and the atmosphere was fantastic. Will definitely go again when in Memphis
antonio contreras
Had chiken alfredo was way better than olive garden food. Daughter had red bean rice and chiken which was also good. Everything was good so was pleasantly surprised. Will go back and prices were good too.
Georgialle Owens
I had to take a couple of stars because my oysters were rather gritty and took away from my experience. Great atmosphere.
Sarah Summers
Excellent crab cakes and po’boys and fantastic service. Rasheeda was a delight!
Linda Wood
We were seated in the very pleasant quiet room upstairs. I had the tasty special of redfish/crabcake/shrimp topped by an excellent sauce served with a side of greens. I'll definitely go back on my next visit to New Orleans.
Val Krygier
Fried alligator po boy and the "taste or New Orleans" sampler was a great lunch after walking around the Quarter. We sat on the rooftop, which allowed us to enjoy the view and bourbon street's ambiance without people walking past the table.
Segall Dawkins
The most amazing food and the service was even better! I had the taste of New Orleans topped with fried gator & my bf had the veal chop with seafood rice and topped with gator as well. It tasted just as good as it looks 😍 …
Csaba Andrasfi
Stopped in for some late night dinner and a drink while watching the Monday night game. I ordered the Ribeye to try it out. The ribeye was suprisingly good for how thin it was, but really wasn't expecting a whole lot. I was not all into the sides though.
The server recommended a Boulevardier for my Bourbon drink, which was actually really good.
Overall service and atmosphere was ok, nothing great, but not horrible.
Sushi Sue
Prepare for a lengthy wait outside regardless of day of the week (we went on a Tuesday and it was still packed). The service people also seem stressed and tired, so don’t expect amazing hospitality. However, the food is delicious and you get to choose from various NOLA specialties so if you’re in it for the food and willing to wait, it’s worth a stop.
Greg Gowens
Rooftop dining! Glenda was our serverand she did an excellent job. So had Apple Berry Crush to start our experience. Great cocktail! I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and my wife ordered the Blackened Redfish Lafourche. Both came out quickly. The Alfredo said was wonderfully fresh. Great taste! My wife also enjoyed her meal. This location is highly recommended!
Jhamari Hogan
My family and I came and really enjoyed ourselves. The red fish is really good and my wife got the jambalaya pasta and that was also good. On top of that the customer service here was great and its a good family friendly environment believe it or not. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
piscesboy76
What a delightful restaurant. Super clean with a modern feel inside. Even the bathroom was pretty clean for an establishment located on Bourbon Street. Has a rooftop Bar upstairs. Enjoyed the oyster po boy sandwich. Tried the alligator kickers, enjoyed the flavor but it did seem to lack the alligator meat inside. Little, to none. Waitress was very accommodating and polite. I will certainly be back.
Rebecca Robinson
Popped in pretty hungry after having a few cocktails. Friends enjoyed their salad with blackened fish and the alligator po boy was delicious! Large tender fried pieces and the French bread was good. The bitters added to the Sazerac drink made it a fun lil’ sipper!
Diane Herring
Really wanted to try Johnny Po-boys and they were closed, so we popped in Mambo's to get our Po-boy fix and they did not disappoint! Host was so friendly and happy to seat us. Server was also friendly, pleasant and made us feel welcome. We had the spinach dip, fried fish po-boy and blackened shrimp po-boy. (Po-boys were both stuffed with fish and shrimp) Delicious! The Po-boys are everything that is talked about, with the bread being the star. So glad we tried Mambo's. In general, it's bar food.....but delicious. All the other food that was coming from kitchen looked delicious as well.
Rossen Marinov
Highly recommend the Mambo's Famous (Chargrilled) Oysters!
Oldair Da Silva
We tend to avoid the Bourbon Street food joints but based on the reviews, we had to try this place and it definitely did not disappoint. “Walter” was fantastic and took great care of us.
We started off with the New Orleans Style Barbecue Shrimp and the Cajun Crawfish Poutine, both of which were delicious and quite flavorful. The BBQ shrimp in particular was awesome and we made sure to sop up all the remaining sauce with the French bread they gave us. For dessert we had the Mambo's Famous Oysters, which I thought was great and was an interesting take on chargrilled oysters. They add red and green sauteed peppers on top which I thought was a great touch and something that I plan on copying the next time I chargrill oysters at home.
The drinks were very good. I had the New Orleans Iced Tea purported to be the strongest drink in the house and it was great and got me where I wanted to go fast. My daughter had the Main Squeeze which she loved as well.
All in all, a great meal and a very pleasant surprise right on Bourbon Street. We will definitely be back and the next time enjoy the rooftop bar.
Brittney Morales-Arriaga
First time. My husband and I got the chargrilled oysters to start, huge and soo good! And I’m usually not a fan of oysters! I got the crawfish etouffee, he got the ribeye with red beans and rice, everything was great! Had the bread pudding with ice cream for dessert, also great! Great service too!
Neomi Nieves
My first time having gator bites and it won’t be my last. They were fried and seasoned to perfection! The bbq shrimp and grits were also a hit.
Asia Renay
Me and My Fiancé came to New Orleans For My Birthday Weekend. Of course we were told to try the charbroiled oysters
Wellll we tried everything and I promise you boo boo make Mambos your first stop when you visit this wonderful city
The gator bites made me wanna slap my momma
The trio (gumbo, red beans & rice and jambalaya) made me wanna slap my momma and we added a touch of Louisiana Hot Sauce to seal the deal
Of course we had to go with the Gator Po Boy after we had the bites it was a must
And got damnit those oysters we got 2 dozen of them ima just leave it at that
Paul berk
The food was good. Service was average, and the atmosphere was great. We ate on the rooftop patio, and looked down on Bourbon St.
Shannon Shauntel
Food came to the table Luke warm but good flavors. Waited in line 30 mins for a table and the 2nd floor was empty. Great service from the waitress. It was an ok experience wouldn't be my first choice but not the last choice either.
Jason Strickland
My wife and I enjoyed our food quite a bit and the service was great. Only complaint is that the food was not hot when it made it to our table. This was likely due to how busy they were.
Ken Holland
Crab cake (shrimp added) pasta was delicious. This place was definitely worth the 55-minute wait!! I'll wait over and over. They have excellent customer service and amazing, tasty dishes. Party of six and we were all satisfied with our experience.
-Started eating before taking this pic :)
Justin Skariah
Mambo’s was amazing!
I had the Taste of New Orleans. Everything was good but that crawfish étouffée was *chef’s kiss!
My cousins got the Bucktown Seafood Platter and the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. The seafood was fried well and seasonly great but not overly coated. The pasta was amazing and the sauce was to die for!
We also got dessert - bread pudding, pecan pie, and strawberry cheesecake. Everything was delicious!
A must visit whenever we return to New Orleans!
The food was so good we didn’t even take pictures ;)
Patricia
Waaaaaaay better than Drago, Felix, Acme combined! Skip all those touristy spots and go here. Service was friendly and food was amazing. Absolutely must order the crab cakes with crawfish cream sauce drizzled on top.
Danika W.
This was the last meal for me in New Orleans and it was soo good! We ordered the Gator Nachos and the Bucktown Seafood Platter with gator added. Worth the visit!
Rico Henry
Hurricane Remy!
This was the first resturant we went to. The service was really good, and the food taste fresh. The weather was nice which made the rooftop experience really good as well. The fried shrimp was the bomb! The oysters rockefeller was very good too. Also has a good view of Bourbon Street. Oh yeah try the Hurricane Remy!
cindy c.
Surprised this place was not packed with customers on a Saturday night. Food was good. The seafood platter that we ordered was fresh. Most of the dishes were good. The alligator nachos had a cajun kick to it. If you're here in new orleans for a quick stop definitely try the "taste of New Orleans" you get to sample gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and red bean and rice. Service was good as well.
P Lue
Good food. Long lines but fast turn around service so you won’t be waiting long. If you can make a reservation do it ahead of time as it is right on the strip so it is very busy.
Danielle Ganieany
The carnival pasta is probably the very best dish I've had my entire time in louisiana. Somehow we got a table right when we walked up. The service is good but the food is amazing.
Jill Johnson
Food was great. We ordered the carnival pasta, taste of nola, fried alligator po boy, and cajun crayfish poutine. The po boy wasn't for us though.
Jaqueline Cuevas
This was definitely one of our best dinners in New Orleans! And we frequent the city. Were a little skeptical because it is on Bourbon Street so from a lot of locals you do here to stay away from anything in this area. Apparently they are pretty brand new, I believe the server said June? We had an order of chargrilled oysters, and an order of fresh oysters, as well as two pasta dishes. Everything was spectacular, no complaints. The oysters were cold, and fresh! Chargrilled were perfectly seasoned served with good crunchy bread. Pastas were full of seafood and good size portions.
Maxine Spencer
Just loved it , great food and great service, the steak was amazing ..
SIMONE FITZ-GIBBON
Oysters were good but small. They had way too much sauce that helped hide the fact that they were small.
Otherwise it was good.
Chimere oronzi
I enjoyed both the food and service. I would've preferred to dine on the roof top but there's always a long line and even having reservations doesn't guarantee roof top seating.
Sheila Rojas
We tried the BBQ Shrimp, and substituted the grits for potato. It was amazing!! Next time we’ll order it again and add rice and veggies.
Darryl High
If you ever go down to Bourbon Street you'll be presented with thousands of options for food and drink!
Highly recommend mambos at the gator bites and the blackened sea bass absolutely delicious and then make one hell of a slurricane drink 😉
LJ Verm
Our favorite stop. Our waitress was Whitney, she was the best. Great recommendations and really sociable which added to our visit. Highly recommended. The barbecue shrimp is a hidden treasure and the gator bites are fantastic.
Oksana Firsova
The only rooftop bar and restaurant at French quarter!!! Nice interiors, very friendly and attentive service, you can smoke outside on the rooftop too!
My oyster poboy was terrific!!
The Lexi Effect
Whitley was the best. The food and atmosphere was phenomenal. Happy Hour Oysters were immaculate. Loved the Fish Platter. So much food 😍 …
Ramon Billescas
Best and strongest drinks I had on Bourbon were here. Food was great also, moderately priced but what isn’t on Bourbon so might as well enjoy it 👍. Raesheeda helped us on one occasion and she was very helpful and friendly starting off the trip right, thanks. …
David Sanders
Food was fantastic. Server was a little inexperienced but had a great attitude. Atmosphere was great except for the smell of weed coming in the open windows and door.
Kelene Schofield
Absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered was done to perfection. Very generous portions and great service. A little pricey, but worth it. We ordered the fried alligator bites, crab cakes, seafood platter, and blackened redfish lafourche. Perfect amount of food for 4 people. Would definitely recommend!
Marc “Tempesto” Palumbo
We had the oysters Rockefeller, oysters Mambo, and the Cajun Crown. It was one of the best meals I have had. It was so good I didn't photograph it. Just a beautiful steak cooked with a wonderful sauce. Even the sides of mashed potatoes and collared greens were great. Cooked to perfection and served with flair and style by Gary, we went back to congratulate the chef the next day. I highly recommend you go and experience it.
anthonycap7
We got gator bites 2 ways, fried and blackened, preferred fried. We also ordered oysters that were really good, I even enjoyed one and never really liked them. We also had the special which was red fish with a crawfish stuffing and mushroom-crawfish sauce, and fried crawfish tails on top. The Entrée was amazing and definitely worth the $24. I would recommend this place over most restaurants on the French Quarter.
Living life
The fried alligator was amazing. The seafood platter was over cooked. Clean and friendly staff. Didn't even eat the over cooked food was still asked to pay for it .
Gage Ling
Very nice place! Loved the rooftop bar! Nice and friendly staff. Nice break from the chaos from bourbon st. Find was amazing and decently priced.
Robert Alexander
It was a last-minute choice based on what was open for our last dinner in the Quarter. We were definitely not let down by Mambo's! The Mambo oysters were a different take on grilled oysters and absolutely delicious! Everyone loved their meals and we all left stuffed! The only negative was a slow start to service due to our waitress being stretched a little thin but she quickly recovered once over the hump and gave us amazing southern charm and service. I'm still giving 5 stars due to the recovery.
T Holloway
The food was REALLY good!!!! The chicken alfredo had some kick which was unexpected and wonderful all at the same time. The Mambo martini was sweet and refreshing and the New Orleans Iced Tea was GOOOOOOD!!!!
Aura Montaño
Omg their food was soooo good! I got the voodoo pasta with blackened catfish and shrimp then deep fried yummy! Others got buffalo poboy, the combination, and I had the seafood okra gumbo and it was Soo good. When I return to Nola I will most definitely revist!
Lottie Hamrick
We had the crab cake Creole crawfish rice and we enjoyed but be sure to have a good appetite because it's a lot of food. A little spendy.
Ariel Silver
Great food, great drinks, and the employees are very fun! We went to the rooftop and whoever was on mic as the dj was absolutely hilarious
Julio Luciano
Made a quick pit stop on our way to Florida to try some authentic Cajun food.. and boy we were not disappointed 😭. Coming from Dallas, Tx the only other Cajun spots we’ve tried are Razzoos but this blew their already delicious food out the water! If Oceana is too full stop by here! Will not be disappointed! Even got a Poboy to go on our way back to Florida 🔥
Viviana Garcia
The food was delicious, a must try the gator bites. The fish was fantastic and the mash potatoes was the best. The drinks were on point. The martini was sour and the tango was sweet.
Stephen Williams
We had an early dinner here the day we arrived. The poutine w crawfish was quite good but the BBQ shrimp was dreadful. Service was just so so.
Heather Mayeske
I got the red fish with the mushroom and crawfish sauce, that came with greens. That was the best fish dish I've ever had (and I've had some sort good fish meals). Definitely recommend!
A Sirbil
One of the nicest place on Bourbon Street The only restaurant have a rooftop bar on Bourbon Street The food so goods and the Bebo work there make the visit grade and they have great cocktails And the place look brand you everything it’s perfect at this place I will definitely visit this place again and I recommend this place in New Orleans and all the workers at this place they are super nice they definitely make me fall in love with this location I wish the best for them and keep up with the service guys
Amani Fields (Twisted Rootz)
We ordered the gator nachos and cajun crawfish poutine. Both were excellent. Super large servings and although they were on the appetizer menu, was more than enough for a meal.
Christina Stephan
Yesterday Mambo’s rolled out their alligator & crawfish nachos (not even on the menu yet)! I’m a nacho-lover and totally enjoyed these! My only suggestion would actually be to add more chips (not a typical critique of mine with nachos). I also sampled the crawfish ettouffe, red beans & rice, barbecue shrimp and fries! ALL delicious! Great atmosphere and friendly, efficient server. Good stop in the French Quarter!
USA Preorder
This place is just beyond expectation. We ordered shrimps & grits and blackened red fish. They're amazing, their staffs are trained well with a very friendly and helpful service mind. Finally, it's very clean. Actually, the cleanest restaurant from all the places we visited in New Orleans. Thumbs up!!
Jenna D
It's a little pricey, but it's new orleans, what isn't? Actually might not be a bad price at all considering. The alligator nachos were out of this world. And the staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely high quality food, and good portions!
habib mani
Ok place. I had blackened poboy and it was good. Salad was wilted. Others in my group didn't like the food as much.
ProfessorDrex
Some of the best tasting food we had on our trip to New Orleans. Both the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta and the BBQ Shrimp & Grits were rich and flavorful. The rooftop dining area makes for a unique dining experience and provides good views of the city.
Hank Wojo
We loved everything we ordered, I would say you can't go wrong with any item on the menu.
Denise Eangleheart
Devante was our server last night at Mambo's. Great attitude! He was kind, knew the menu and a great server.
LaTia Scott
The food here is AMAZING! There were 3 of us and no one had any complaints with their food. We started with gator bites half fried and half blackened. I had the fried fish platter with mustard greens and hush puppies. Christian got us to try this place and we were not disappointed......Jermayra took great care of us as our attentive server. This place is SOOOOOOOO underrated, I suspected it's because it's only been open for 2 months, but give it a try for sure, you will not regret it.
Raja Chandra
Great location, friendly staff and has an amazing overlook of the Bourbon Street. The open roof seating area has the advantage of live music from the bars below. I had the Mambo's blackened red fish, which was perfect.
Karen Ciampo
For a spot in a touristy area, the food was super good.
Jessica Eason
The strawberry daiquiri was good. The waiter was great. I ordered the red fish with crawfish and mashed potatoes. Everything was good just wish the fish had flavor to it also
Kathi Kane
Food was good. Service not reliable. Waiter was very slow. Food came before drinks. Never came back to check in anything. But reappeared with the bill.
Queen Afua
Great place with great service the food was excellent and so was the arrive TK was out server and bartender Juan the chef was amazing I definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to go
H L (Glasstacular)
First time in New Orleans, and been to a few "more expensive" places. Mambo's was by far the best stop on my trip. The food was spectacular, the service was friendly and helpful and drinks were good. Excellent place!
Kristin
The service was the best I've had my whole trip to Nola. Our food came out super quick. Was very good. The atmosphere was really nice inside.
Billy Butler
So flavorful and delicious. That new orleans flavor is packed in all the dishes. The Oysters were phenomenal. Well worth the wait, trust me!
Ericka Martin
Needed a late night option for dining and Mambo's delivered. The waiter was very nice and attentive.. The food good, got the spinach dip and fried crabcake plate platter. Really enjoy the lemon drop cocktail and desserts. After preparing to pay, noticed a cook at the grill with apparently sagging pants gone totally wrong, in plumber mode needlessto say. Absolutely disgusting, I was too embarrassed for this individual to even complain. Had us second guessing our food sanitation and entire experience after witnessing this.
Gary Scofield
Great food and an excellent place to eat at in the French Quarter. Our server was an excellent gentleman. Very attentive to all our needs and a true local native of this City (I'm so sorry I've forgotten his name). We tried this place as it wasn't as noisy as so many other places were. This is truly an adult and drinking area. Watch out the sidewalks can be quite rough to walk on. Do give them a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed in the food or service.
Suzi D
Food was good. Service was friendly and fast. They have outside seating upstairs which was cool.
Jamie Moore
I'm still dreaming if the jambalaya. Best jambalaya ever. We sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing. He never let us go without a drink, ensured our food was correct and even offered extra mayo for my hubby's sandwich as if he read his mind (it needed a little more). The service from all staff was amazing. They really know how to make great food and offer amazing service. Recommend this place to anyone looking for great New Orleans food.
Gustavo Valdovinos
I was hesitant at first , but the food was great and so was the alligator , 5 star service and atmosphere .. taste the the New Orleans .. it has everything and try the Gator, it was delicious
Samantha Scardinosam
Deffinitly one of the better experiences and restaurants in New Orleans and bourbon street in particular ! Loved the dessert and the apps, even the drinks were better than others I had while visiting, 100% a must visit
Jermaine Reese
For some good New Orleans food this is the place. I'm a nacho fan, so of course I had to try the gator nachos...I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu 😋
Crystal Hall
Food was good and we got a great table for people watching.
Tanya Blehm
Wanted rooftop seating. Not available nor allowed to wait until seating was available. Food was ok. Dessert was wonderful.
Zach P
Try the Mambo Oysters and Gator bites half/half you won't regret it! Delicious! ☆☆☆☆☆
Erica Groover
Friendly staff and delicious food! The gator bites and crab cakes are amazing!
Michelle M
The bartender was super cool and made the best drinks. Plus the gator bites were delicious 😋
Kendra Kulifay
Food was amazing !!
TK behind the bar was awesome !! Made great recommendations for food and drinks. Definitely a go to !
Maine Girl
Food was great! Our server was great too. The hostess was a little off...I felt like she was put off because we asked to be sat in the AC since it was so hot outside. She sent us to the rooftop bar...actually worked to our benefit. Would recommend 3rd floor.
Dena Eades
My daughter and I are visiting New Orleans. She wanted seafood for dinner so we stopped at Mambo’s. I wasn’t sure what I would have as I’m vegan. Our server, Whitney, was a rockstar and immediately recommended their vegetarian pasta but sub marinara for the Alfredo sauce. It seems like such a small thing, but it meant a lot to me that was equally invested in me enjoying dinner as well.
Savitri Balram
Fun spot with good eats. Great drinks. Service could be more attentive.
Charvonne
Had the Taste of New Orleans, everything was flavorful. Drinks were good. Nice place to stop while walking on Bourbon
Bob Trzcinski
Oysters, shrimp po boy, and crab cakes were all fantastic. Roy (bartender) was very gracious and hospitable.
Eduardo Sequeira
Very good food in New Orleans in general. Very hard to decide what to eat because everything was phenomenal. Love this restaurant, the service the food.
Cynthia Johnson
The food is great and soo delicious The staff is very friendly and helpful and nice
Vikki Holmes-Grant
Great service. Food is just ok. Oysters we're fresh !
Michael Cato
Even though this wasn't the French Quarter, a very touristy spot, the food and service was phenomenal. We definitely make our way back there someday again.
Sandra Headrick
This place was recommended by a friend. We came here on our last night in New Orleans. Great environment along with great food. Christopher was awesome.
Debanjali Banerjee
I went on Saturday lunch with my friends , it's nice experience. Pretty busy around that time. I order Mambo's Blackened Redfish with side of Coleslaw & Crawfish Etouffee instead of regular sides come with the menu ( I didn't know it was extra cost). Mambo's Blackened Redfish comes with big fillet and sauce was super tasty, very good tasty dish. Coleslaw was as usual balanced good but Crawfish Etouffee was taste kind of bland to me. And one of my friend order Crab Cake Pasta & Drink ( in the picture) and she said drink is very good and pasta is too. Their non alcoholic options are very little. Overall experience was good and server was good too.
Alandra Hall
First time Nola traveler. Highly recommend this place. The outside patio is very pretty and cool. You can still experience the outside Nola life while getting a bite to eat. This was also my first time trying gator I loved it. First picture is blackened and fried. And the second picture is oysters the Mambo kind. They were excellent
cindy davis
It was ok, I think these places are very busy and sometimes that will make the food not as good.. Waited in line for about 30 mins.
Erik Haddad
Great location and rooftop dining area. Food was delicious and service was exceptional. Highly recommended!
Wade Eck
I was in NOLA for business and ate here a couple times during the week. The food was always good, I discovered a new beer (Blackened VooDoo, which they have on tap) and Roy the bartender is awesome!
Sara h
Josh our server was nice. The place was slammed which I am sure is normal. Our table was in the main isle, so every server and patron needed to bump into us on the way past. The "famous oysters" were not terrible, but they were not as good as any of the other oysters we have had in town this week. The bbq shrimp were absolutely not worth the space they took up in my stomach. They are cooked she'll off, they are dry and lack flavor. Taste of new Orleans was ok. If this was the first place we ate in New Orleans I would probably say it was pretty good, but compared to what's out there I was a little disappointed.
Dianna Haskell
Very nice atmosphere and food was fantastic. Only problem we had was our server Anthony. He walked past our table 3 times, looked at me and never spoke to say I will be right with you. No smile, no personality. He finally took our drink orders(2 bottled beers) and we waited 10 minutes to get them. *He did serve us ice water without asking. Our food came out about 15 minutes (5 minutes after our beers) served by another server. It was large servings and delicious. Our server Anthony never came to check on us to see if we needed anything throughout our lunch. They were steady but not very busy. We had to run him down for the check. But...We will definitely go back for the food.
Connie Sanchez
You won’t be disappointed with anything on the menu! Amazing food, Amazing drinks and wonderful atmosphere! 5*
Janet Vanpatten
Great Food Anna our server was great. Stayed on top of things since we sat in courtyard since it was very busy even at 5 ok. We never had to work about things and food not finding us. Go and enjoy.
Empty Nester Chronicles
The food is delicious!Try the Gator nachos!!! Restaurant was clean, wait staff was friendly and attentive!
Vibration Goddess
Now the wait was unbelievable but the hospitality was awesome. The food and drinks was well worth the wait. This was some type of cajun seafood pasta and I added a crab cake. So delicious
Philo T.
Delicious food, a bit pricey but good overall. Gave me a complimentary bread pudding for my b'day. Thank you
Eboni Johnson
Me and my husbands experience was great. Drinks were awesome, Food was great and came fast. Restaurant is clean has 3 floors and a huge s/o to our waiter Walter he has the best customer service and was great with menu recommendations will definitely come back.
Caressa Todd Dillard
So delicious! I had to have a po boy before I left Nola and Mambos did not disappoint with the fried alligator po boy!
Areeb Rashid
Great food, amazing service our server Bre was extremely nice and very professional.
Katey Vanblarcum
Omg best cheese grits and shrimp I've ever had! The alligator bite nachos were awesome. Sit on the 3rd floor if you can.
Jennifer howard
Food was excellent. Blackened alligator was a table favorite, i had the red beans and rice entree and it was delicious. Meal service took about an hour which seemed extreme for the customer load at the time, but our kids held it together for the wait lol...
Tennille Bass
The Mumbo Favorite Oysters so good. Great experience. Glad we got there early!
Bradley Brooks
Mambo's was great! Loved the food. I got New Orleans BBQ shrimp appetizer and Taste of New Orleans entree - both were Excellent!! Server, Tamesha, was both attentive and personable.
Everything was excellent!
Sam Elliott
Rooftop bar on Bourbon Street affords an excellent view. The Crawfish poutine is insane.
Keisha Thorne
The food and drinks were delicious! Had the best gumbo of my trip to NOLA here. Would definitely recommend you have a meal here when visiting Bourbon Street.
John Sanders
Bread Pudding...I said BREAD PUDDING!!! YOU WILL REMEMBER how good it was even after a full night of power drinking on Bourbon Street... IT'S THAT GOOD!!! Trust me!!!
Jada-Mercy Ayebae
Po boys were so good! Jasmaine and the other staff were very kind and fun to talk to. The music was the second best part, after the food. Also a very cool rooftop view. Fan on the roof as well, not super powerful but helpful.
Joshua Ryan
It’s a cute little place. The oysters aren’t that good comparably. Service was just ok for nola. We wouldn’t eat here again.
Ms. Pat
The food was delicious and a lot. We couldn't finish it all.
Cody E.thompson thompson
Red beans & rice was 🔥. Etoufee 🔥, and crazy to say this being from Mississippi, but that was the 1st gumbo I liked. Only downfall was the oysters were really small. And Stacie was our server. She was the best. …
Chante' G. (Mz. BlackRussian)
My first time in NOLA and the staff was helpful in describing the food choices to us. They were very polite and also pointed out places for us to go. Crab cakes were tasty. Bourbon shrimp was off the chain. It was damn good.
Nikki
Great food! Service was quick, and staff was friendly!
shan rizzo
Gator bites were super good. My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits… there was not enough grits and bread
Shamika Brown
The best oysters I've ever had.
Ty Perry
Service was slow. We seen 3 groups seated after us recieve their food before we recieved ours. Waiter wasn't very attentive. Food was good- very good. Fresh shucked oysters were on the small side but Mambo oysters were very good. The rest of my group ordered pasta with alfredo and various protein and they loved it especially the crabcake alfredo.
Bruce Troncin
Food was ok. Not bad but not great. The wife got fries and they ask her if she wanted cajun. She said yes. The brought out poutiine and charged $5 more. Oysters were good but tiny and very gritty.
Llorito Castanares Todd
I love this place, an excellent restaurant with indoor and rooftop seating. Very friendly staff (especially Whitley) I will definitely come back every time I return to NOLA.
Jennifer Morehead
The food was so delicious. They serve large portions. The only I am giving it 4 stars is because they forgot the coleslaw. My children got the shrimp platter and they loved it. The fried oysters were so yummy. My husband got the shrimp poboy and he said it was really good. The jalapeño hush puppies were amazing.
Patrick Stewart
Ordered the Seafood Plater - Hush Puppies & Fried Oysters were Luke warm ...... Fish & Shrimp were Excellent............... BUT I also ordered a Texas Margarita & a BUG was floating in it ........ Sent it back & just ordered a water..... Our waitress Shante apologized ..... but overall knowledgeable and friendly......
Laura Carmer
Fire is an understatement for the food here. We were there as a party. I got the New Orleans Sampler which was delicious. My favorite was the Crawfish etouffee. The gator nachos were loaded with all the things and they were really good. Got to try the gator bites which were tender and blackened with yummy savory sauce. The hush puppies were nice and crispy and delicious. The Cajun jambalaya pasta was perfectly cooked and they didn't skimp on anything. I had the pecan pie which was the best I've had in a long time and tasted the bread pudding which despite not liking bread pudding I would order if I went again. Service was phenomenal, Lacey was bomb! Would go back, well worth every single penny.

Waited over 30 minutes -45 minutes but it was worth the wait. I recommend the BBQ Shrimp and Grits; it's too die for!!

Roof top lunch made this meal even better looking over Bourbon Street
Grady Hoellrich
Really great place to get a quality bite to eat, especially if you sit on the roof patio. An excellent way to people watch on Bourbon Street. Tourists beware most dishes have a certain Cajun kick to them, but everything was well made and tasty.
Doug Mccrady
Gator nachos and duck wantons are both awesome. Jamie the waitresses knows what she's talking about

The front of house staff was incredibly rude, we were forced to wait outside for our reservation in 90+° heat, they completely overbooked the restaurant and we were not able to get seated until well after our reservation time. Once we were seated, the wait staff was fantastic and attentive, even though the bartenders were slower than molasses, and the food was amazing. It's a shame that the management and front of house are putting such an amazing staff in a bad position. Bree and Lacey, our servers, were truly amazing and a credit to what was an otherwise poorly run establishment.

The food is good here for sure. The view is nice. The portions are small though so don't expect much for the price you pay .

Great music, food and service

I went to Mambo’s for the first time and ordered the “Taste of New Orleans.” The food was amazing! It was very flavorful and I didn’t have to add any salt or pepper with it. The portion sizes are perfect. If you are in New Orleans you should definitely make this a go to spot, you won’t be disappointed!!

Food was lovely. Reasonably priced, good atmosphere but did take a while to get drinks. Rooftop bar after took 30 mins to get 1 drink and pay

You get soooo much food. The appetizers are almost plenty. My table ordered spinach dip appetizer, chicken alfredo, and blackened fish. Everything was great.

The ultimate long island is weak, the bbq shrimp is ok (gumbo shop is better) the stuffed salmon was ok. Definitely not coming back.

Huge servings, nice place. Good seafood but I can't stop thinking about the gator nachos. Omg the sauce...

Ordered takeout after a long night of work. Didn’t really care for the bbq shrimp but the rest of the food was great. Tried to order online but it wouldn’t let me so I called to order so I could just pick it up on the way to the car but they would not let me do that. I had to physically go in and sit at a table to order which was inconvenient because I still have to close out at work and wanted to just grab my food on the way to my car. I wouldn’t have minded paying for the food over the phone but having to go in and sit at a table to order was strange for take out.

The food was delicious, the portions were big and the waiters were friendly. The atmosphere inside was positive.

So good!!! My son had never experienced Gumbo before and instantly fell in love. I had monster oysters that were fresh and cold! Totally recommend!

Awesome stop for a late-night bite on Burbon. Pictured is the pecan pie, shrimp, and cheesy grits. Service was great, prices reasonable, and the vibe inside is very casual.

This was our first spot once we arrived and settled in our hotel. And it was a 10. The chicken po-boy was delicious and stopped here twice on our visit.

My wife and I came here for our first rooftop NOLA experience. We were not disappointed. The bartender Mr Chris was funny and made great drinks. We ordered some crab cakes that were delicious and I got some tasty bread pudding as a birthday treat.

Service was excellent. From host to waiter, kind, engaging and eye crinkles (how you see the smile behind the mask 😷) all around. Food hot and tasty! …

Food was good, I do wish my fried fish was more crispy, but I bet that is something you can request.

Really good service, food was pretty good. Price quite steep for quantity of food. Upbeat laid back vibe. Would recommend

One of those restaurants that several people recommended we go. It did not disappoint at all. Great cajun and creole food. The gumbo was amazing! The gator bites were great. Had a good time hanging up in the balcony having drinks and looking at the people walk by. Great spot.
Brianna Hopkins
Whitney and Roy are amazing people. They made sure my gumbo was 5 star. I will always come visit Whitney.
Come here for alllllll late night food.
Zunaid Porbandawala
Foods mediocre. Oysters were sub par and so were the po boys. Service was great.
Rachel Gallagher
We ate at Mambo's tonight. A really nice place. The food was delicious- husband had the crispy chicken with red beans, rice and andouille sausage- a huge portion. I had the shrimp fettuccine very filling portion, delicious. Our waiter Leo was nice and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant- come hungry and leave very full.
Justin Sarbeck
Incredible location right on Bourbon St. Great vibe and super friendly and will trained staff. Might be overstressing quantity over quality on a few items. There crab cakes were incredible, the gumbo was good not great, and the PO boy was underwhelming at best. Drinks were good and strong like you'd expect but seems like it's a, get em in get em out place, and that came through on some of there dishes. May have been the rush they were experiencing but with so many options in New Orleans it's hard to say Mambo's is high on my list of must stops.
Dayton Egloff
We got the gator bites and blackened red fish, and both were amazing! The service was very well-paced and friendly. The inside decor was a bit dim, but clean and kept. We'll definitely be eating here again!
Carla Abendroth
Wonderful food and service for our group of 6. Walter was an amazing waiter and gave the perfect New Orleans hospitality experience. Blackened red fish, red beans and rice, gumbo, all delicious. The bread pudding was a delicous end to a wonderful meal.
Sequoia Daydreams
What a great meal choice! We were able to get in and out very quickly even at 10 PM when lots of kitchens are closed. Our server was Maddie and she was phenomenal. My partner got the Taste of New Orleans and I got the Chicken Aldfredo both were very good. Full of flavor and a little spicy.
FLA Girl
A great restaurant to eat at while experiencing Bourbon Street. Great food, perfect atmosphere, I will be back!!

Roof top dining is a fabulous experience. We had a great server as well, who had only been there a week. Just a sweetie and I wish I remembered her name. We had Blackened ALLIGATOR nachos with crawfish sauce. That was a new one for us and it was good. I had the crawfish etouffee, which was overpriced but tasted good. Cheesecake was delicious.
Luis Ernesto Ramos Chavez
The food was perfect, definitely coming back next year

I ordered the cajun jambalaya pasta and enjoyed every bite!
