Absolutely amazing food for amazing prices. I ordered the shrimp and grits and wowwww. It was so flavourful. I felt like each bite was a party in my mouth. We also order the tuna and fries. They were also extremely flavourful. Our waiter was also extremely friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I always like coming here for either fish or their hamburgers depending on what I feel like for the day I come here. I always get my food quickly when I come here, and have had no issues at all. They ha e lots of relaxed and friendly customers who come here to eat as I can always find a person to strike up a conversation with. Great place.

I was very pleased by this restaurant. The food was great. The service was even better! I'd definitely eat here again! Nachos were bomb and the Philly Steak was rich with flavor. The sweet potatoes fries are good, just add salt and you're good to go! Yummy....

Absolutely awesome seared tuna sandwich! It has a ponzu sauce that is so incredibly good!!!! Sweet potato fries are outstanding! Our waiter was fantastic and very informative anout the area. Definitely make this a stop if in New Orleans!

Love this place. The atmosphere is amazing. Really takes you to the beach. I got the shark attack and my boyfriend got the coconut margarita. Both are out of this world. Highly recommend. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Had Blake he was cool and informative of the menu. The shrimp and grits was great . The quesadilla was good. Gave it 4 simple because the portion size and the PO boy didn't taste authentic... But I would definitely come back

Come in a busy time, all tables are full except the bar area. Ordered the tuna salad and the wait is about 15-20 mins. Not bad for such a busy time. The seared the tuna is perfect, the sauce brought the food flavor of the tuna. The salad is mostly fresh and the strawberry is very flavorful. Very happy with my meal here.

Really fun place to eat. Great food and margaritas, in cheerful Ambiente (outside, the interior was more a conventional sports bar). Super nice staff. Try the key lime mousse!

Such nice staff from the moment we walked up! I got an enormous po-boy and grits, my husband got the Lucy burger. The portions and prices were great, a wonderful stop and some great tunes!

Food, service and drinks were all great and very well priced! Not really my scene anymore, but the bar started to get really busy around 9:30 and the music was loud! Everyone started to come out to party and I was ready for bed.

We were warmly greeted upon entry. Seated right away! Appetizer recommended was calamari, it was quite good! We had the cheesesteak and the Pulled Pork sandwiches. The cheesesteak was the better choice! Pulled pork was good, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. I’d rank it a 6/10. Service was great, staff was friendly.

Came here for lunch with some friends. Food and drinks were delicious. My drink came with a fun little mermaid in it. Our waitress was very friendly and service was quick. Will come back next time I’m in town.

Lucy’s retired surfer’s bar and restaurant is a shockingly good location. It gives vibes of a dive bar only good for late late night eats and cheap drinks but don’t let the vibe check fool you. Not only is it great for the late eats and cheap drinks but it is great for anytime eats and drinks. The vibe is divey but not overtly, more casual and laid back like a fish hut on the beach. The good is really good and definitely a great bang for buck. I recommend this sport for anytime you’re feeling laidback vibes with good eats cheap even if it’s late and of course good cheap drinks. They also usually play some great music. Cheers.

Loving the vibe of this place and the generous number of mermaid “cocktail confetti” they add for fun. The drinks are a bit too sweet for my taste but the ambiance is awesome, and they personnel is great too - happy to make adjustments as needed, and the add-one to the drinks made us all laugh. Good times.

Lucy's was recommended by the hotel clerk. I liked it so much that I sent three times during five day stay. I had the fish of the day, red fish, with island rice and seasonal vegetables. All were dicious and piping hot when served. The tacos were also really good with a side of poblano cheese grits.

This place was super great! I called ahead to make sure our pet was welcome and they assured me she was welcome inside or outside. When we got here, they gave her bacon and brought her a bowl of ice water and loved on her and she enjoyed every minute of it! Not only that, but the food was great! Catfish was the best I’ve had! The service was super great! Highly recommended🐶🐾🦴💗💗💗

This place has great staff and I enjoy coming here to watch NFL games. They have a decent happy hour. The prices are a little high especially for wings that are not great. But the steak sandwich is real good. It gets extremely busy on the weekends with young collage kids. They have a dj and a good MC.

This is quite a fun place with surfing themed decor as one would expect with a name like that and very friendly service. A wide variety of well priced food options round out the bar offerings which are fun. The fried food baskets are excellent and so are the apps. Fun place to visit for sure!!

Good food on a nice day. We sat outside. The calamari appetizer, pork sandwich, and seared tuna were all very tasty. Our server was busy as heck but remained very sweet.

I can't complain about anything. Great selection! The menu had a great mix of options. I got the ceviche appetizer and the chicken sandwich with brie and bacon. It was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The servers were nice and they got us food quickly.

Food was great, drinks were really good, service was lacking. We got seated right away with our doggies outside and then the inattentive service started. The place want too busy and we had to ask for silverware and napkins after we received our appetizers. I had to go to the bar to get more drinks. We asked for extra ranch on the side three times before we received it. The queso we ordered was super creamy and very delicious but had to ask twice before we had our guacamole delivered, which was also delicious. Burgers are cooked to perfection and the fries a seasoned just right. The fruity drinks will sneak up on you. We will return hopefully with better service.

The atmosphere is so nostalgic! They have pictures of the original locals from 1994 on their walls. It's marketed like a restaurant, but it just feels more important. I think it made the food taste better. Maybe their steak & swiss sandwich was just that good. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

My husband and I stopped in for drinks 1/17/23 at Lucy’s after seeing a recommendation for the Mermaid Water online (thanks tiktok) the two ladies working the bar were hysterical, accommodating and helpful. Our drinks never went dry and our smiles never faded. We will be returning again for good drinks and phenomenal customer service!

Staff was friendly and attentive, food was alright. Not my preference on how catfish should be fried (not really crunchy, and batter was a little bland - salted that's it), but the fries and hush puppies were good so... 💁🏾‍♂️. Wife got a quesodilla which was much better than the catfish.

Had the late night menu only options tonight, the regular options stop at 9 pm. Got the grilled chicken tacos with chips and salsa. Chips were fresh and tasty along with the salsa. Tacos were decent size and pretty flavorful but missing something, couldn't put my finger on it. With some of the salsa and hot sauce on top though they hit the spot. Nothing on tap but a decent selection of canned beer and a full bar woth plenty of drink specials. Overall a good spot. I wasn't blown away by the food but it came out quick and was fresh. Wait staff was attentive and kept my soda filled. Wouldn't mind coming back to try their fulll menu. Others in the group had quesadillas and burger (the Juicy Lucy) no complaints from anyone. Chips and guac were tasty as well.

We stopped in on taco Tuesday where select tacos are $2 or $3 bucks, house margs are $5, and Mexican beer was $2 or $3 (don’t hold me to it! But it was a bargain). Annnnd! The famous scorpion shot was $20 instead of $25!!! So clearly, my girlfriend and I did the shot while my husband sat horrified 😂 absolutely worth it. The tequila was actually pretty good (they didn’t use a cheap, low shelf option that would have burned) so the Scorpion slid right down! 10/10 would do again! Total dive bar feels in all the right ways. And the tacos were great! Shrimp basic was the standout. Not overcooked or greasy (sautéd) and wasn’t rubbery overdone. Husband tried the bang bang one (deep fried) that wasn’t on special and it was the clear winner. Our server recommended that as her fav and did not lead us astray. The shark attack drink my friend got was strong but too much grenadine, so if sweet isn’t your thing, may need to ask for light of the “blood” 😉

I loved the “Ritired Surfers Bar” concept - feels like this place have a lot of history to it . There are surf boards and some art pieces inside which is pretty cool. We stopped by for a brunch and food was delicious , big portions and reasonable prices

What a nice surprise for our family this evening. Totally tasty fresh and had a kids menu (which isn't advertised from the street, but is totally kid friendly). And $4 margaritas! Plus, drinks come with a little mermaid which kept our kiddos entertained. Our waitress was super nice and she treated the kids to a hula hoop performance at the end of the dinner! My mom and I had the tuna and shrimp tacos and my other half had blackened chicken plate. The black beans were beautifully seasoned. The kids burger was handmade and not just a frozen thing. Overall, super happy campers!

Ok! So we showed up a party of 5, on a busy night, Valentine’s Day evening. We were immediately sat and well accommodated for the toddler we had with us. IF that wasn't impressive enough, one of our party began having back to back Grand Mal seizures right in the entryway. The waitress, whom I regret not getting her name, recognized it as seizures and our party as being well versed in handling them, and she redirected customer traffic to another entrance and stopped other employees from calling 911. She was helpful and amazing! We had to send our siezing member home with an escort and stayed as a party of 3 with a toddler. The waitress remained amazingly attentive throughout our meal. We we thoroughly impressed her service as well! That girl was on it! The food was really good too. Ceviche, cheeseburger, fries, chicken brie sandwich all delicious! Definitely give this place a try!

In town for work convention. We had an alumni party here the night before and I thought it would be great for round 2 on lunch the next day. Great decision! Had great service and was seated after a short wait. Beer came out ice cold and quick. Our server had our food out quick and accurate. I had the chicken sandwich that was supposed to have Brie on it however I changed it to pepper jack. Fries were hot and tasty also. The jalapeno ranch and Chipotle ranch was so delicious!. This place..... this place was the Freaking BEST! The drinks are huge the girls are nice the scorpion shot is an awesome challenge to have added to the menu! The food was great! 11/10 would recommend! I will definitely be visiting again in the future when I return to NOLA! They also have the shark attack (the drink with the shark) available in non alcoholic for children. You get to keep the toys when you leave 😂

Went into Lucy's for happy hour. It was a relaxed atmosphere and the prices were great. I did not try any of their food, but the bartenders recommendations were right on. My fiance's choice was a frozen Tito's lemonade that hit the spot on a warm afternoon. I would for sure go back.

It was an absolute treat to have lunch with our fur babies! Friendly service. Immediate bowl of ice cold water for our pugs and a dog treat. Love, love, love their dog menu. Joe enjoyed breakfast for lunch and I had a delicious club sandwich with avocado. All around a fabulous experience. Such a convenience when traveling with your fur babies.

I absolutely loved this place!! I was recommended to go by a co-worker because the food was good and they were pet friendly. Lucy's did not let me down, I walked in on a light night and was promptly seated INSIDE!! My waitress came over and brought a large bowl of water with ice for my pup and proceeded to hand me two menu's, one for myself and one for my dog... BIG PLUS for this furmom! I had the Fried Shrimp Po Boy with fries which was not only huge but delish, and an iced tea. My pup had the Surf Dog Delight which was a 3oz burger patty and I think he was pretty pleased as nothing was left behind. If I make it to New Orleans again I will FOR SURE stop by to try another tasty item off their menu.

Had lunch at this location during the middle of the week on two separate occasions. Need the proof of vaccination or negative test to dine in. We had the fried shrimp basket and tried the fresh catch sandwich fried (catfish). The food was great. Reasonably priced. Service was quick and very good as well. Highly recommended this place if you are not from the area and want other options vs the true southern food (red beans, rice and cajun) that wasn't for us. They certainly have that as well and I'm sure its good.

Awesome bar. Back in the day they set up a boiling pot in the street. Shoot Saints games onto opposing buildings wall. Chilled out all day. Sun starts dropping, better take a mental note of where you parked. It's #1 in Nola to me.

Fun lunch spot with good food. My son said the chicken sandwich was the best he'd ever had (and huge-- the chicken breast was as big as his face; he and his fiance had to split it). Really good tacos, salsa, queso, and guac. Some good options for us gluten free folks. I'd absolutely go back.

Nice chill vibe for a quick bite out with friends. One of our party has a garlic allergy and, after being made aware, still served us chips that had garlic in the seasoning blend. She did check with the kitchen to confirm what could be made safe to eat, but the options were limited. Aside from that, my tacos were delicious and I'd definitely go back!

$16 for just a quessadilla.. everything our table ordered tasted like fish.. the calamari tasted like it had fish flavor added to it and was like chewing rubber bands.. so it sat un-eaten. That's all the bad we experienced, we visited three times, we just didn't get food again. The nachos were pretty good, the drinks were good, and they had a nice little social club upstairs playing music and dancing. It would not be my go-to place if I lived there. It's more of a bar hopping spot.

Edit: Visited during the day on NYE & was less than impressed. Margs tasted like straight bayou water. Usually I can finish a bad drink...not this time! Service also sucked & you could not order food at the bar. Food had to be ordered separately then was brought to you to-go style (from what I can tell, this is now standard there, not just something they were doing for NYE). Probably won't return - we found the bar across the street was much more the vibe we were looking for. It was great to pay Lucy a visit after a while of being away! Same great food & although short staffed, servers were attentive.

Friendly staff and quick service. Had blackened shrimp tacos and pablano grits. 2 shrimp per taco ... no clue if they were blackened because I couldn't taste them over whatever was on top. Grits were bland and not fully cooked. Just a fast casual dining experience nothing special or unique about it. Coulda been at Applebee's or Fridays.

Randomly stumbled upon this place looking for a place to drink in Nola. From the minute we walked in everyone here was super friendly. We orginally planned on just having some drinks here but our waitress Summer encouraged us to try their food and we are sure glad we did. The food was absolutely fantastic, fresh, and hot. The fish catch of the day was absolutely delicious and definitely unexpected. Our server Summer was the absolute best. She was so welcoming and very fast with everything. Love this place!! We were visiting NOLA and stopped here during heavy rain. We didn’t wait too long which was nice and it was super fun in there! Staff was amazing! I ordered the chocolate waffle which they were out of so I ordered a tres leches instead. The manager, Jake I think, came over and informed us they were out of tres leches as well. To make up for it, he dismissed all of our drinks! The atmosphere, food/drinks, and staff are incredible. Definitely recommend!!

I was NOT expecting the calamari to be this delicious (self-professed calamari snob here!)!! Walked in without even looking at the sign then realized upon perusing the menu that Lucy's was one of the places we wanted to try. So happy I stopped in! The calamari is DELICIOUS!! Cooked perfectly. Tender. Thai chili sauce. Perfect amount of spice. Finished the calamari, and just ordered the ceviche,since I wasn't quite as STUFFED beyond comfort! I'll let you know how that works out. Oh! And the whale bite. Just do it. #YOLO Also, the bar tender was super sweet & friendly even though I was super cranky and didn't want to "people" tonight. Headphones in, and "I'm sorry WHAT??" were met with a smile every time. Bonus points right there.

I was really looking forward to this. Had to show my vaccine card to get in while people who recovered from covid had to stand on the street, but I played along. The menu was limited so I assumed maybe it was because post Ida. The nachos were okay, but when I asked for a basket of chips they were mostly crumbles. If the server smiled I don't knew because of her mask, but she didn't seem to be pleased with my presence. Took forever to be greeted at table, had to ask for napkins, never got utensils, took a long time to get her attention in a mostly empty restaurant to ask for those things. The decor is cool and different for NO, but I didn't feel like an overly welcome guest.

We had a great experience at Lucy's on Nov 22nd around 7 pm. Having arrived from airport the Concierge at Embassy Suites Hotel suggested we could find some good food at Lucy's. While there we had great food and good conversations with 2 fellow diners. When they left they said their goodbyes. We soon were ready to leave and asked for our check and to our surprise our fellow diners paid for our meal. I was so in shock! New Orleans has some great people! They dine at Lucy's often, would love to thank them!

I don't have the heart to give them a 1 star but I had a 1 star experience. Horrible service, facility was shambles due to renovations, limited menu and my order was sent to the table wrong. To top it all off my daughter's pull pork sandwiches had a fly in it. I am only giving it a 4 star review for this reason and this reason only ... Covid has crippled the small restaurant industry and we'll the renovations are why the food was problematic. They were forced to cook outside ... The server didn't want to be there and probably won't be very long but then again it's so hard getting staff at the moment with unemployment so high. So even though it was an experience I'd never want to repeat.... I understand.

The atmosphere is always electric, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the location is immaculate. Ive never been to Lucy’s and had a bad time. Just make sure you have your ID. Frankly, this entire area is loaded with bars to hop to, making it a safer and less packed alternative to Bourbon. Thats if you have already been to Bourbon of course. If you decide to come this area for your night out, stop by lucy’s, grab a drink, shake your body, and take a pic with the gals on their oversized beach chair up front! Went for lunch. Seated quickly by very nice staff. Everyone was very friendly. Burgers were excellent. Order got a bit mixed up but we didn't complain. Prices were okay. Parking is a bit of a challenge on a busy day but the Neighborhood seemed safe with mostly tourists on the street.

We went here on Thursday, four days after they opened. It was a fun atmosphere and the staff was friendly. We went back on a Sunday for lunch. They were out of oysters but the manager gave us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. Very nice of her. I am rating it four stars only because we asked for a side of ranch and instead were brought 4 sides of tartar sauce, so we asked again and were brought another side of tartar sauce. We were finally brought the side of ranch when we were finished eating, by someone who wasn’t even our waiter. There just seems to be poor communication between the staff.

We were staying in a hotel across the street and were looking for a place to get dinner and not pay hotel prices. The place is definitely a surf bar type atmosphere. It is not particularly clean, but was OK. The food was about what you would get from an average chain like Friday's. Our waitress was fairly attentive and she quickly corrected a couple of minor mistakes she made like bringing the wrong salad dressing. The prices were definitely lower than a hotel restaurant, and the food about what you would expect for the price. Nothing special, but not a serious disappointment. A couple of other families from our group had worse experiences than we did, so I would say that you should be willing to try it out, but don't expect anything special.

When so many places were closed due to covid, Lucy's was open. They were not serving food, but they let our dogs come inside out of the heat. We had a drink and got takeout from another nearby joint and they let us eat it at the bar, and they provided water for our dogs. (We did get food for the bartender, though, so that may have helped in their decision to let us eat there.) This was a super chill and cool place. Wings we're gobbed in a weird (to me) BBQ, they were of a "tolerable" quality at best. Wife got the quesadilla, it was greasy and have an overly powerful citrus flavor again, fill you us, yes. Really enjoyable? No. I did love the chips and salsa. $5 cans of heiniken are also excellent...for their profit margin. Waitstaff was friendly, it was a clean restaurant.

The outstanding food, alcohol, and ambiance was amazing. The food came out piping hot and without too much of a wait, considering the place was absolutely packed. The drink came with a small-largish whaleshark that i was able to bring home and gift away to a friend's smallish child. The music was just loud enough to be heard over the many other conversations that were going on, but not loud enough to drown out my own conversation. All in all was a very solid experience, would come again.

Great little place to eat, shrimp po'boy was good, and their rice is fantastic. Kids were able to get refills on specialty drinks, which never happens, and it was the least we've spent on dining in new Orleans of any place I can think of. I wouldn't call it walking distance from the French quarter, but a trolley could get you right to it.

Great food! Some of the best I've eaten! Ordered Civiche, a po boys sammy and shrimp and grits. Super fresh and delicious. The people that work here are amazing and very kind. My wife and I flew in to New Orleans and we called for take-out just before they closed for the night and the bar tender said she'd hold our food till we got there. We got there later than we expected because life gives you lemons sometimes to find our order was on the house. If you guys read this, sorry for the trouble and thank you for the amazing New Orleans hospitality!

We were in NOLA for a cruise and arrived a couple days early to experience New Orleans. Lucys was just a short walk from our hotel and it was perfect, especially after a long day of travel. Shrimp & Grits, Calamari, and Jerk Chicken, were part of our samplings here. All were delicious! Combine the great food and a great staff and our love affair with New Orleans has begun. We will surely visit here again when we return.

The Pao Pao Tacos are amazing. The slaw, the sauce, the shrimp, and the peppers work perfectly. They were so good we considered ordering them again. Servers are sweet and welcoming. Has a neighborhood bar feel not a tourist destination.

We are actually doing a surf safari of the Gulf coast and stopped in New Orleans for the food, history, architecture and apparently Hurricane Barry. When we saw the mention of Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar and Restaurant... We had to try it! Our server Chelsea was great!! We had the frozen margaritas with a side shot of gran mariner. We started with the ceviche with plantain chips and then the serious nachos with pulled pork. Everything was delicious and we loved the atmosphere of a surfers bar in the middle of a city not known for surfing. The staff was friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed our conversation with Chelsea. We definitely recommend this place if you visit NOLA!

I was going to be short of time (parking lot). I mentioned it to hostess. She & my server made it a stress free time. Had basic soft tacos & coffee. Asked for sour cream, no problem. 2nd cup of coffee I asked for Kaluha to be added. Cream for coffee is real, served in a jigger. Food was good, service was exceptional. It was lunch time. Haven't been there in years , glad I went.

Calamari appetizer had a tasty sauce that left you wanting more. Tried the Juicy Lucy Burger - cooked medium with added avocados and cheddar cheese. Fantastic! Really enjoyed the special Lucy sauce. Girlfriend had seared tuna - cooked rare and served over rice. Again, fantastic. No complaints. Great atmosphere and cool bar. Will definately eat here again.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere when we visited Lucy's last Friday night. It was around 11:00 pm when we arrived. The place was jumping! Very upbeat . DJ was amazing. We were starving so we ordered from their late night menu. I had the best nachos ever, with black beans , sour cream, guacamole and lots of cheese. Pico de gaillo on the side. They had everything layered with cheese. Not just piled on the top. I ordered a glass of their house red wine. It was rather pricey for house wine, but really good. The music was loud but good so that you couldn't help but get into it. We watched the late night crowd arriving... Everyone was dressed well and you could tell it was sort of a hipster hot spot, which I was totally enjoying the energy and had a great time. I'll definitely go back again, but til then ..so many places I have to check out, so little time!! I'm loving living in the Big Easy!!! Got a few photos. The side of Lucy's says the attic but the corner sign says Lucy's (Retired survers club!)

We happened upon this place while walking near our hotel...(Mercantile on S Peters) and what a find!! It just happened to be Taco Tuesday, AND happy hour, so we had margaritas (served with cute little mermaid figures) and all had tacos! My husband and I had Dragon Tuna Taco bc the server recommended, and they were our favorite! Soooo good. The blackened fish taco was superb too, and our friends loved the Pao Pao Shrimp Taco. We planned to come back for more, but ran out of time while in NOLA. Definitely stop...one of THE best meals we had while visiting! Pics to follow.

We went here on a family weekend getaway for a sunday lunch. The food was really good, strongly recommend the baja rolls! I wanted fish tacos but they don't serve those until 3:00. The atmosphere was outstanding, feels like a little piece of San Diego in NOLA.

Easy going joint outside of the French quarter with taco specials. I had one of each (beef, chicken, and shrimp) and they were reallygood! Maybe addicting...I was tempted to get a couple more! They aren't huge, but surpringly filling. There was also and excellent hot sauce, which I couldnt find for sale anywhere...Hot Bit!h at the Beach.

One of the best meals we had in NOLA. Burgers were amazing and the nachos were delicious. Only complaint was the shrimp on the nachos was a little mushy, but had that with the shrimp from other places. Just skip the shrimp on the nachos and you'll be fine.

My wife and I ate here around noon. They were serving a smaller menu to choose a brunch like meal. I ate the Juicy Lucy Burger, added swiss and portobello mushrooms. The burger was cook exactly the way I wanted. My wife had the chicken nachos, we should have just shared those. The serving was enormous! The chicken was tender and juicy, the guacamole was phenomenal and very fresh. The servers were polite and friendly. Even with a full restaurant our food was out within 5 minutes of ordering. This place is definitely on my list of places to return to when visiting NOLO.

I loved the French fries and the chicken fingers, but my salad dressing was like I normally would have it. I had a mi casa su casa salad which had fresh greens, but the ceasar dressing was like water and had no flavor. I like strong flavors with my.sald dressing. Other than that the young lady was nice but they need wrapped straws and not to charge for extra bbq sauce. Kids meals $3.95-$5.95 Salad $5.95-8.95

We got married in Jackson Square on April 20, 2019. We had a toast with Absinthe at the Pirates Alley, complete with pirates. Then a second line, with a surrey, to a crawfish boil at Lucy's Retired Surfers' Bar and Restaurant. (We recommend all of the above, by the way.) The boil at Lucy's was awesome! We had use of the whole upstairs "attic", with balcony, perfect for bead throwing. We had use of our own private bathrooms, a full bar with bartender and the sound system. The crawfish, muffulettas, poblano pepper cheese grits, key lime pie minis...everything...was perfect. Jenna on the bar was awesome. Event manager, Britney, was super helpful all along the way. Highly recommended for your upcoming event!
