So. Damn. Good!! Firstly; our waiter, Selena was SO SWEET, SO ATTENTIVE, SO FAST. The food was something else! Blackened catfish platter: 1000/10!! Fried catfish & shrimps platter: 1000/10 Everything tastes fresh and well-seasoned. I highly, highly recommend it!!

We enjoy coming here for family dinners. It is not cheap which is typical of seafood restaurants. Our server was quite busy with several tables as well as working the bar but he hustled. Food came out at various times so some of us were eating ehile others were waiting but overall it was a nice dining experience.

Very cool and quirky spot near Elmwood. Tons of atmosphere and plays good music. Had a dozen raw oysters which were fresh and delicious. Bartender was attentive and friendly. The only thing that kept me from rating 5 stars is that the wet bar area had a smell like the floor drains needed serious cleaning. Other than that, great spot and I’ll be back.

Charbroiled oysters are the best! Platters are huge and we are never disappointed by the amount of food you receive for the price. Joey was our waiter and he is very attentive to our table of eight guest. Food came out quickly. The manager, Phil, checked on us often. Fabulous staff and great food.

Savory flavors and great portions. Billy, our server, was fun and, patient, knowledgeable, and apparently loves his job. Great food and a place the locals eat. I'm sure we were the only tourists here.

Our 1st time eating here, hubby and I were originally going to The Boulevard but he said let's try this spot out. So we ordered a shrimp & catfish platter, Stuffed Shrimp with garlic pasta 2 side salads & a Virginia piña colada and a fruit punch beverage oh and a caramelized bread pudding for dessert to take home. Our waitress was great, good sizes food portions.

Good dining experience. What brought us down Were the restrooms . Like scale of 1 to 5 ...-1.. Clean your bathrooms. It was so gross. The 1 semi clean one there was a line for. True story. Bleach wipes are you friend .

Good food, and it came out hot for the most part. Our hush puppies were really overdone, but everything else was good. Generous portions. Service wasn't objectionable at all, but it wasn't really friendly. We didn't get the boiled crawfish, and it seemed like we were the only ones in the whole place that didn't! They smelled amazing. Next time!

Great service. Had a very good catfish poboy but the fries were either poorly cooked or they used old oil in the fryer. The restaurant is in bad need of a renovation... Moldy air conditioning vents, missing ceiling tiles, sticky floors...

The food and service was great, the atmosphere had a touch of Nola charm, and can't forget the gator statue out front. We had the king's platter which had a little bit of everything, blackened oysters which is a must have here just yum, and some cheese fries which was good but it's cheese and fries of course it's good, lastly crawfish just amazing. All the seafood was boiled in the same magic Nola spices and just came out splendid with a touch of heat. Overall great experience and even better food.

Awesome food! They have a great selection of fried and grilled seafood. Can't go wrong with the Charbroiled Oysters. For dinner we had stuffed crab and stuffed mirliton and of course the jambalaya and fries.. Both were good. Big portions and good food. I love her, the food and paid back atmosphere. Definitely a place to come back

I ordered the grilled chicken platter with jambalaya. Is was good tasting but I didn't quite care for the fact that it was a thin chicken breast filet. Plus I ran into hunks of fat and tough gristle. Poor quality of meat in my opinion. I was expecting an actual chicken breast.

If I could, I would give this place 10 stars. We came in 30 minutes before closing and were served very kindly. We ordered the grilled oysters and seafood gumbo for appetizers and were SO good. For dinner we had the Jaeger platter to split. The portions are bountiful. Also, the nice server, Michelle, A+ to her and the cool guy that was singing to Billy Ocean's Caribbean Queen. Overall, loved the experience. We came back to our hotel and recommended it to another guest.

Boiled shrimp for the appetizer was slightly over boiled but crazy good to the taste buds. The fried seafood platter was a tad bit too salty. But the phenomenal service made up for it.

It was okay. Simply put. There was nothing to write home about and I’ve been to this Jaegers as well the one in Metairie. Perhaps my expectations are just high because I’m looking for a spot to wow me and I haven’t had it yet…😞 I’ll go back because I like to give restaurants more than one chance but I’m not skipping while I whistle to get there.

Great food, great vibe..took my mom here for V-Day. She loved the crab legs. Crawfish were small, but that's expected because February is still early season. No complaints. Great service/great gumbo/friendly hosts! Try it out!

We hadn't been since before the pandemic. But the service was excellent and the food superb. We had oysters to start which were fresh and juicy. My husband had grilled Tuna with jambalaya and grilled vegetables and it was grilled perfectly. I had the stuffed shrimp, which was different from the usual stuffed shrimp but it was a delish with a creamy pasta. The salads were also fresh and crisp. I would recommend that everyone give it a try.

Great place to stop for some real seafood. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The prices are on par with other restaurants near by. The atmosphere was spot on and the music was not overly loud. The one thing I would suggest would be that they add more to their kids menu.

This is an excellent place to eat. We had lunch there and the portions on the lunch menu were huge. The food was delicious and the service was great. There were 6 in my group and everyone thought the food was great. I had a pound of boiled crabs and some potatoes for my meal. The crabs were huge and delicious. I would recommend Jaeger's to everyone.

Whenever I come to NOLA this is always my first stop for seafood. Reasonably priced food. The grilled oysters are a must, and the portions are generous.

We met family for dinner and we usually shy away from eating seafood in a restaurant unless we hear first hand that it will be great. But the food here is wonderful! We had oysters, stuffed shrimp and fish. The blackened red fish is amazing! The atmosphere is fun and the employees were professional and kind. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Disappointed for sure. Expected our food to be great, far from it. There was a live bug on the bread and server didn't even acknowledge it. She was very nice, wasn't her fault. Bathroom need alot of attention. Ughhh! The exterior of the building is so run down we should have known. My family was not happy!

Food is great. Service is excellent. I sat at the bar and was very well taken care of. Table are is very busy and you may have to wait to be seated but the bar was not busy so I just sat there. You should try it at least I am sure you would be back.

Food was much better this time. I hate there is no crawfish buddle and you have to buy everything separate ly which makes it more expensive. The seafood platter was good too as well as our bar drinks. Service was great also. My only problem is with the pricing but I at least my dining was pleasant and I will be back.

Had a lovely lunch this past Saturday. Enjoyed the blackened redfish salad. It was delish. The server was attentive and friendly. It was my first visit there and will likely return. I just hope to find more low carb choices on the menu.

Our server Heather was friendly and efficient but I really wasn't that impressed with the food. My stuffed crab was bready and lukewarm. My companion's shrimp was a little on the chewy side and that black vein hadn't been removed before breading. Fries were greasy and apparently used to make the plate look full. All in all, it was okay but I'm not anxious to go back.

Don't get me wrong, but they had good food overall... I really liked the atmosphere, the staff was really nice and the food came out in a timely manner. Just wish the price was what I expected of my dish, just a little too expensive for my taste. Could have made it at home for cheaper. Server could have done a little better with serving tables. Some items were bland, but my most favorite were the hush puppies and the salad.

Our waitress was the best waitress we ever had. She was on her A game. We had boil shrimp that had a great flavor. We had shrimp and oyster poyboys that was good but had better. We also had chicken tenders for the kids but was disappointed with the how bland it was. The food took forever to get to the table.

My 3 stars were based on several thing's. I had the fried catfish plate. The catfish was cooked perfect, served hot and delicious flavor. As far as everything else not to good. The plate come with fries, jambalaya, bread and a salad. The fries were cold, I'm sure the salad was a hand full of greens put in a plate probably from a bag from Sysco. The jambalaya would have been better if they used a box jambalaya mix (I'm not kidding). The bread was a 2 inch slice of French bread, it's not warmed grilled or severed with butter. Since the catfish was my main dish and it was very good I probably gave a better review than earned, hopefully they can improve on the accompanying sides. My friend had the grilled oysters, they looked good to me. But it was quickly noted to me that 3 other restaurants in the area had better oysters at a better price.

Amazing! I had the breaded catfish and shrimp pasta. Absolutely delicious! (I read a previous review that said their's was "drenched in too much sauce" but it was perfect in my opinion. It's angel hair pasta, which may have made it seem like there was more sauce than a thicker pasta would have?) Service was A+, place was clean, inviting and lively. Will most definitely be returning!

It's been awhile since my wife and I have been here so we decided to go today. WOW!!! We got the char grilled oysters and we were both impressed. Lots of butter and garlic and the biggest oysters I have seen in some time. They were delicious. My wife ordered the grilled red fish and I had the broiled stuffed catfish. Both of them were excellent. Very tasty and well seasoned. The only probably was the wait to get our meal. The salad and oysters came out quick. We finished both of them and sat and waited for 20 minutes to get our meal. We we're there at 2:30, so it wasn't busy at all. So not sure why it took so long. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here.

The oysters are great and don't leave you wanting for anything. Well be coming back for more of them since they were delicious. The building itself leaves you thinking you're drunk though since the floors are so slick. I wouldn't recommend coming here to have a few drinks. It may not end so well 😅

The server we had was great. I ordered the char broiled oysters, Cindy's fries and blackened redfish. Everything was great I only wish the gravy on the fries was actual beef gravy from roast beef it was jar gravy or something but the fries themselves were hot and I appreciate that.

A New Orleans institution for seafood. I've been going to Jaeger's for over 40 years at every location. The fried seafood platters are some of the best in the city.

Good as always. Service (Antoinette) was wonderful!! Missing items on menu. Partial remod being done to section .. Bathroom almost ruined visit.. worse than any , ever!! Almost lost my wonderful lunch. Hostess was unhappy, or preturbed or???? Very inhospitable. We love this place, I certainly hope they can get things straightened out before they damage their fine restaurant. We'll be back...after a break for remodeling is done.

My shrimp poboy was amazing! The bread was fresh, crispy in the outside and soft on the inside, the shrimp was a plenty, and the mayo was generous. Partner's seafood platter was not as good. There was a large selection of seafood and the to-go box was filled but the hush puppies, in particular, were fried to timbuktu and the French fries were, contrary to everything else, barely warm and "limp." I am still wondering though why was that waitress "running" around the restaurant with mask comfortably resting on her chin and south of mouth & nose? I am not ignorant of the hard work she was doing but it was ironic (now that I look back) seeing her on edge and during one of her dashes, she simply pulled on that mask without skipping a beat; she'd had it, "the hell with it" was the message, and she was beyond redemption. I was expecting her to fly right out of the restaurant...she needed a hug; maybe next time because that sandwich will certainly pull me back :)

Seafood that tastes like fresh seafood. The Fried Catfish is delicious and the Jambalaya is authentic Creole Cuisine and Stuffed Crab really consist of Crabmeat. Overall, I eat at Jaeger's often, and I have never been disappointed!

Everything was WONDERFUL! Our server was friendly and professional. The food came so fast that I had to ask them to slow down. Food was delicious! From the appetizers to the entrees. Got too full to make it to dessert. Maybe next time. I would like to make one note to the restaurant. Please use Louisiana seafood not imported. I could taste the difference. That's why I give four stars instead of five.

OMG! My husband and I hadn't eaten here since we moved to Lake Charles after Katrina. This place is still one of the BEST restaurants in New Orleans. My food was delicious. Mrs. Ann our server, was wonderful. Her customer service made us feel at home again. Seafood platter with thin fried catfish-YUM. Also, their shrimp and navy beans-I'm still craving them. We can't wait to visit again real soon.

Not the best I have ever had. Hotel suggested as a good place. The grilled Oysters were just okay. I had Gumbo which was good. I had shrimp remolaud salad. 100% iceberg with 6 little pieces of shrimp. Not too good. Ate the shrimp left the 11 dollars worth of iceberg.

The food was amazing. The chargrilled oysters were huge and grilled perfectly. The children's menu had a variety for small children. The staff was friendly and very informative of the menu. The establishment was clean, and the waiter kept our cups filled. Overall, we will visit again.

We went for lunch. Our server, who I believe was named Toni, made the experience exceptional. She was extremely helpful in helping us with the menu items when we arrived. She was very knowledgeable and helped us make the best selections. She went above and beyond as our server. I had the tuna steak. It was outstanding. The lunch portion came with a salad, veggies, and jambalaya. Everyone else at the table also enjoyed what they ordered, we all had different things. They serve generous portions. I would most definitely come back. It was fresh and delicious!

The food here was absolutely excellent. I'm giving it a 4-star rating because of the service. They were very busy that day. But I am not going to excuse them for the lack of service. The environment is friendly. The bathroom is okay a bit on the small side. But I go there to eat the food and the food was delicious.

What a pleasant surprise! I went on a Tuesday and tried the Crawfish special for $3.99 a pound it was so flavorful, juicy and good. I also got the raw oysters they were large and fresh. Would recommend this gem.

Our waitress was great, very friendly, never let us run out of tea, and answered in detail any of our questions about the menu. The charbroiled oysters were AMAZING and I could have eaten several platters all to myself. The rest of the items we ordered were subpar at best. The gumbo was bland, the catfish was extremely muddy to the point I had to spit it out, the stuffed crab was entirely too wet for my taste, and the onion rings were battered in fish fry and overcooked, but the fried oysters were pretty good. Although it wasn't the best seafood I've ever had, it was still good enough I would give them a second chance if I'm in the area again.

You can almost expect a wait- which is a good thing. A long-lived and well loved metsirie restaurant. Good crawfish (seasoned really well and good juicey factor). Pretty sure EVERYTHING is made in house. Some of the best hush puppies and onion rings I've ever had! Extensive menu for those that aren't there just for the seafood too. Good drinks, friendly staff, and comfortable seating.

Awesome menu! Many dishes to choose from that are very appealing. The blackened red fish salad was amazing. There's nothing small about the filet. Seafood gumbo, delicious! Oysters looked great and were quite sizeable. Devoured an entire dozen. Nice layout and setup on the inside. Prices of items surprised me. I've been to other seafood and oyster bars with higher prices, but less choices, and not as tasty. Throw in two Abitas, still paid less than $50.

Not what it once was. Not a terrible place but there are plenty of other places to get better seafood. The one bright spot on their menu is the charbroiled oysters. The wait staff is pleasant and always have been. A bit overpriced as well.

The food was well prepared and the servings we're generous. The lobster bisque was outstanding, witha lot of lobster bits. The Catfish and jumbo fried shrimp were tasty, though the spicing was bland. I want to go back to try their 1 1/4 lb. Maine lobster special in midweek.

Our second time we visited, this time with our kids, and to our surprise they ate all of their food (Gumbo and Red Beans). The first time our server was on point and very helpful, the second visit the server was ok, just seemed a tad out of it. (Perhaps she was having a bad day). Will definitely keep going back.

Heard the boiled crayfish were the best around... they didn't disappoint. Seafood platter left something to be desired. Not really seasoned just ok, what was called jambalaya was rice with a reddish tint, hush puppies were burnt. When I asked for some that were not burnt I got attitude and possibly the same ones brought back to the table. Service was not with a smile but more of an attitude. Live music was way too loud couldn't talk to other person at the table. Bathrooms needed attention as well. Came here in 2006 and was disappointed and hadn't come back ... not much has changed. They have lobster night Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday not sure about Thursday. You get a whole Lobster, potatoes, corn and a salad for $15.00. The service is great and so is the food! Great place to bring family and friends. They also host large events. Their raw and charbroiled oysters are really good as well.

Always a positive experience, although the place can get crowded a which tends to show down service sometimes. Once, my take-out order was delayed so they sat me down at the bar and gave me a beer while I be waited. No problems there. Raw oysters, snow crab legs and boiled crawfish are my favorites here. The big sign out front advertises daily specials so you can know what's going on inside before you get out of your car. That's convenient.

I go to this restaurant often. The food is excellent, and there is plenty of it. I'm a big eater, and I almost always bring something home. I consider their charbroiled oysters to be the best in the area. Better than Acme or Drago's,. They are not just a carbon copy of everyone else, so some people don't care for them. A note of warning, the service can be slow during popular times. I go before or after the crowds and always get good service.

The Oysters were huge and delicious but the shrimp pasta sauce was very salty and there was a lot of sauce on the pasta. I could barely eat it. When I took it home. I added more noodles to it and it was perfect. They need to not be so heavy handed on the cream sauce. The pasta shouldn't be swimming in it. Or, lighten up on the salt. Remember, you can always add salt to a dish but it is very hard to take it out of the dish. There are some remedies like adding a potato to soak up the salt. But if you did it correctly in the first place, you wouldn't have to worry about the extra time for the potato to do its job. I would definitely go there again when we have the money. It is so expensive!

I give it four stars because the staff is always friendly and kind! The food comes out at a reasonable time, the staff is extremely nice but my only complaint is I feel like the food could be better for the price. When we ordered crawfish they weren't even warm. Everything else is great the oysters are delicious, the crabs are to die for, the chargrilled oysters are even better. If they could just get their crawfish right they would be a perfect place to eat!

The second time we are there my brother was newly paralyzed and was staying at Toro and wanted to eat seafood so we brought him there and once again they did not disappoint at all. Service was great, food was the issue, I had charbroiled oysters which were very good but for my entree I had stuffed eggplant. The entree came with fries and a generic jambalaya didnt try the jambalaya bc it didnt really look great also no one at my table touched theres either. Fries were over seasoned, the eggplant besides not being what I expected was way to salty. The menu lacked description for the not as obvious dishes and pricing on most entrees was up near $20. Our waitress was great especially for our big party but I should've just got more charbroiled oysters as my meal.

We stopped by here to have the crawfish. There were just OK. They were a little cold and did not have enough spice. We also tried the char-grilled oysters. Again, they were just OK, not up to par with Acme or drago’s. We also tried the crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. This was just bad; I think they used an entire stick of butter. The stuffing was a soggy, bad tasting mess and the mushrooms were tough, almost like they were re-constituted. Leaving there after paying 70$ for a meal left a bad taste in our mouth. On the plus side, our waitress was very nice, and they cleared the trays of crawfish shells as soon as there were full.

We just loved the chargrilled oysters. We don't give many reviews, but this one deserves it. We all wanted to go back the second evening, but tried Acme instead. You know trying somewhere different. Big mistake, Acme's was a 3 at best. Jaegers is the only place in NOLA for chargrilled oysters. Also, try the stuffed shrimp. Some kinda good! Just to be fair we tried the chargrilled oysters at Dragos when we were in N.O. Nov 2016. They were good, but Jaegers still was by far the best. Dragos had way too much butter. Way to go Jaegers!!

Char-grilled Oysters are the best in New Orleans! Period! My only complaint about Jaeger's is that it takes you a long time to get your check, to pay for it and leave after eating. Still, if you want char-grilled oysters, leave that Acme and Drago foolishness alone and head over to Jaeger's, you will not be disappointed! Be forewarned though, i am only vouching for the oysters and not the crawfish, mushrooms or other items, they are just average in my opinion.
