Reviews of Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar
Maria
Popular spot, so I'd get there ahead of time because of the wait. It's worth it! The pasta and oysters are delicious & filling. Oddly enough, I tried a small piece of fried alligator for the first time and it was pretty decent. My friends devoured that and the seafood gumbo. The chicken sandwich was basic but a good, safe option, so I would recommend it, as well. My friends took some tequila shots before we headed out to explore more of Bourbon street!

Fantastic service. Oysters are delicious. Their seafood sauce is the best we’ve tasted anywhere. The other dishes were also extremely tasty. It is a very busy place but it moves. Be careful when you arrive close to closing time. They will cut the line off prior to closing.
This is a must try when you’re in NOLA. Competitive prices and high quality seafood.

One of the best places in French Quarters for char-grilled oysters. It was so good, I came back a second time during my stay here at NO.
The staff were friendly and the food didn’t take long to get to our table. We waited about 15-20 min tops.
I would highly recommend the oysters shooters, raw oysters and the char-grilled oysters. Those were the best items on the menu and what Felix’s is famous for.
As for the gumbo, do not order it. It was way too salty and it came to me cold. Hence the reason why they lost one star.

We are in New Orleans for the weekend…..Felix constantly had a long line at the door but we really wanted to try it……We went for lunch and were seated upstairs on the balcony……We loved it!! And decided to go again the next day for dinner….We tried raw oysters, charbroiled oysters, shrimp, jambalaya and etoufee…The food was absolutely the best!!! The lines are actually not too bad and they go pretty fast. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because there are two sides of the restaurant, one is slightly more updated than the other, but they could both use a little updating… also, the menus were not very clean……. But otherwise, it’s a place to try!

For those trying oysters- COME HERE!
We came here our first night in NOLA- tried raw, fried and par-broiled. My favorite was the par-broiled by FAR!
Otis as the bar was so helpful and hospitable. He gave us a few raw on the house just to try it out- With a cracker and lemon 🍋 👌🏻 and the signature cocktail sauce. Sauce had just the right kick.
We came a second time just because it was such a great experience.
*The blackened alligator was awesome! Seasoned 👌🏻 (do not bother getting them fried 😝)
Also had the rum Sunset Cocktail in a fishbowl. 👍🏼 Shared it between two and still got a buzz.
Don’t bother waiting in line. Go around the corner and they will seat you right away at the bar. Otis is at the raw oyster bar 🦪

Ask for V, she was amazing. Very attentive and everything came out quick. The restaurant was loud and fun atmosphere just everyone having fun including the staff. V made our trip worth it and the food was hot and delicious on top of the service we received. Immediately felt like part of the family. Must order char broiled oysters (of course the one dish I forgot to take a picture of). Wish they gave us more bread for that sauce. Our group was 7 people and V made sure each of us got what we wanted and had enough to eat. Everyone loved the alligator bites and red beans were amazing!
Dakota Stepney
I only come here for the Char Grilled oysters. They did not disappoint. Freshly cooked, seasoned and perfect butter champagne sauce over the bread. I tried stuffed red fish with crab..it was overly charred... The other photo on is the sample platter good but not enough.
Tiffany Barber
We went to this place to try their oysters and it was definitely fresh!! They brought their oysters with ice too which I appreciate! I wish they would have cleaned their oyster shells more because every time I put my mouth.. I can taste the dirt and it’s grainy. The baked/grilled oysters were delicious too.
Melissa Zindell
This was our first meal on our first night to New Orleans. We were very pleased. The server Audrey was very helpful, polite and great with suggestions on what we might like to try. We timed it perfectly so our wait wasn’t terrible. However I will say when we return this is a place we’ll worth the wait. Their cocktail sauce was the best in all of NOLO.
Robert & Nancy Cork
Good food in the quarter! Had to wait a bit to be waited on and our server seemed extra “busy” even though the restaurant wasn’t very full. The shrimp and grits did not disappoint, but you’ve gotta enjoy rosemary as the flavor is very strong. The bayou sampler was decent but not outstanding.
JW Littmann
We had a wonderful afternoon snack at Felix's with Victoria as our bartender. She took great care of us. Then you have Michael (Jackson) shucking and making friends with everyone who walks in.
Definitely a spot on the New Orleans experience trail.
Chargrilled oysters were delicious and the BBQ shrimp Po boy was a Cajun delight.
Thanks for a great meal & experience.
Erick Conde
Very good location to have a full meal in New Orleans and local cuisine. The prices are very good for the large plates and the beer availability is very convenient. I would it here again. The service is fast in response and very attentive. Well recommended.
Brian Stringer
This should be a bucket list destination for anyone coming to New Orleans.
We shared fried crayfish tails and a cup of gumbo. Then, the oysters showed up. My wife got them raw on the half shell, and was in heaven. She said they were so fresh and succulent, the best she had ever had.
Then, my chargrilled half dozen came out. I tasted the first one, and just told her, "Oh baby, I think these are gonna break your heart." I offered one up for her, and I can say without an iota of hyperbole that she almost cried. We ordered more very shortly after.
I dont know why the grilled oysters aren't a thing across the whole country. I expected good, and got Amazing.
Out server, V, was very attentive and took great care of us. 100% will return.
TL/DR: Absolutely above expectations. Do yourself a favor.
Brenda Mah-Madjar
Friendly waitress, efficient service, food arrived quickly. The beef po-boy was good overall. Too bad the bottom half of the bread was soggy from the sauce. The red beans and rice had a delicious smoky flavour. A plus for this restaurant is that they moved away from signing the check because a credit card scanner is presented for quick and easy payment instead.
Danielle Schaller
Waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The line looked longer but is moved fast. We sat at the bar and Victoria was our bartender and she was awesome. We also got to meet one of the master oyster shucker Kali and thanked him gracious because we got 3 dozen oysters because the first round were perfectly shucked no punctured bellies and no shells just perfection.
When we return we hope to see them again!

Out party of 5 walked through the back entrance which kind of looks sketchy but who cares we only care about the food. This place was the highlight of our entire business trip. The chargrilled oysters were AMAZING. the Shrimp n Grits? Still dreaming of them and apparently the fried bread pudding isnt on the menu but our lovely waitress told us it was happening and omg it was absolutely to die for. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality/quantity/taste of the food. Go with a decent sized party so you can try everything and share. Go here. You will be pining for it until your dying days.

Good and bad
This location is a little tight and the tables are small but it’s a good vibe.
The half shell oysters were good. The charbroiled oysters not so much.
They was super charred and were VERY salty. The crab fingers were bland and the alligator didn’t have much taste either.
Our server was good and personable.

You can never go wrong stopping by Felix's. The oysters are excellent but you already knew that. Staff is cool and friendly. Reasonably priced it's a great family fun time at dinner. The Shrimp are a nice size and seasoned well. The only part the was a drag is waiting outside to be seated. It's like we were at the back side door waiting to get snuck in....lol literally walked in from behind the register lol. But other than that service was great Brittany is an Allstar! She handled our table with perfection and didn't miss a beat. We didn't go without anything and she was timely checking in and clearing the table off. All In all if you hanging on Bourbon street stop by and enjoy some oysters!
Walt Domingo
Yum! Yum! Yum! Chard Oysters were the best we had in the French Quarters as we tried them from 4 different restaurants. Reasonably priced as expected to be higher as the location being on Bourbon st.
C Go
Char-grilled oysters on par with Acme just across the road, and just about everything else was better - service included. Shout out to Kim by the bar for answering all our drink and food related questions. The Sazerac was great, too.
Matthew L
Good place to get grilled oysters
Shrimp tacos are fabulous. Perfectly cooked fish, light and tasty breading, a little kick in the sauce. Would definitely order again.
Poboy looked solid too.
Jason Hall
We stopped in for a quick lunch and an afternoon drink. We sat at the bar and although they were busy, service was prompt and friendly! The "drink" was more than we bargained for and very well poured! The food was good as well and we'd highly recommend for those looking for a unique New Orleans experience!
Savitri Balram
Cozy restaurant. Unfortunately, staff needs a course in hospitality. There was a line of folks waiting outside who were completely ignored by the front of the house person. No one would inform about a wait time. We finally walked around the corner to find another entrance. Was finally seated, but took a while before we had someone come to take our order. Oysters were great, but customer service left much to be desired .
Revathy
You get decent vegetarian options here. I heard from my friends that the oysters were great here. There will be a long queue in front of this restaurant. So factor in wait time when going.
Michelle Stuckey
We came here on a whim because it was close and we were hungry. We got oysters and they were fantastic, the spicy cocktail sauce was a nice touch. My husband said he didn’t even need to use the horseradish, and neither did I have to use hot sauce. We shared the Shrimp Poboy, and it was good, the shrimp could be a little more crispier and the fries were subpar. Our teas were always refilled and our waitress was friendly.
Ryan Vetack
Where to start? Friendly staff, awesome food, and some bad mothershuckers singing the night away behind the oyster bar. To top it off they have multiple "duos & trios" on the menu, so we got a full sampling of New Orleans fair! The soup trio included turtle soup, which was fantastic, gumbo, and oyster artichoke soup. The bayou trio included jambalaya, crawfish etouffee, and red beans 'n rice. The oyster duo had both rockefeller and bienville as well. Everyone got a bite of everything!
Peijie Li
Came on a Friday afternoon and there wasn’t any waiting before we got seated. We were put on second floor where we had a nice overview of the Royal street. The oysters are pretty good, grilled oysters taste even better.
Debra Sorensen
Our go-to place for oysters when in our favorite city, NOLA. We never, ever been disappointed there.
Besides great food they hire the best of personable, friendly people.
I shout out to Asante from Wayne NJ who waited on us He is not only a great server he's a tour guide, storyteller and definitely positive and upbeat person.
I suggest asking for Asante as server!
Mark Swift
Had this place recommended by two different people. Glad I came to check it out. Sat at the bar and watched them shuck oysters right in front of me. I don't eat them but was still pretty cool to do and interact with the employees. The shrimp tacos were delicious! Fries were disappointing but oh well.
Ayon Ibrahim
Go here for lunch when it's not busy - it's overall good but not worth any wait. Gator bites very nice and juicy, but the rest was just fine. Jambalaya was too dry.
Natasha Sheppard
So nice had to do it twice! Lol. Came here for the oysters 🦪
I wanted to half shell (only raw oysters on the menu) and was recommended the char-broiled oysters - they did NOT disappoint (especially with the garlic bread 😂 )👌🏽
Also got the blackened chicken alfredo which wasn’t the biggest portion but was good.
Jay Finesilver
The food was pretty good, fresh and came out fast. Decent fried shrimp w fries and hushpuppies. The jambalaya passable. The sever nice and friendly. The host/gatekeeper of the place a total jerk, not welcoming at all and nit the least tourist friendly. He could have cared less whether we were there or not. Yikes.
Brian Schneider
Fun and lively atmosphere and great food.
I’m going to start by telling you to save room for the bread pudding. True, southern bread pudding, warm and with whiskey sauce. It is incredible!!
My buddy and I grabbed dinner here while in town for a convention and were super pleased. Ms. Jackson took care of us at the bar which was stocked and hopping!
I had the shrimp and grits and sautéed vegetables. The shrimp and grits were killer good. I would pass on the vegetables to save room for dessert.
My buddy had the Felix Special which is a fried oyster and shrimp po-boy with fries. He said it was awesome, also.
The atmosphere is so fun because of the sounds and smells coming from Bourbon Street. The people are friendly and glad you’re there.
Malina Malina
This is one of our favorite place for oysters in a USA because we’ve been to every state. Also Maine is good. But we’ve been here in March for my birthday and now we here in September and everything still the same. Same bartender he recognized us it was cute 😂 and funny.
Baked oysters with garlic also really great!
We came here from NYC and it’s worth it. Thank you
Ed McKechnie
You can get good food any where, you can only get great service at Felix’s. Pull up to the bar, order up and talk to Kali, Moe and Stormin Norman. We had a wonderful time, great food and talked to three great guys as we ate.
Luciano Paesani
If you are in New Orleansits a must have. By far the best charbroiled oysters you can have at the French Quarter. Simply sinful!!! Sit at the bar and enjoy. You won't regret it regret it. I guaranty you will be back for more!
Ashlea Baalmann
We stood in line but they got us in and out very quickly. Great street performance while we waited and the atmosphere of Bourbon street is unlike any other. Food was out quickly! And clean restrooms which was nice.
Jerry V
Visiting from out of state. A friend of mine recommended it for their oysters. The food was outstanding our server was good. I would recommend a taxi or Uber to make it down there due to heavy traffic. The food was well worth it. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
Chris Opines
Fun and busy oyster bar. Would have been nice if the windows were open to the street but it was too cold.
Had all the classics: Oysters Rock and Bienville, Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, shrimp and grits. All with the classic
ever-present Crystal hot sauce. Nap-inducing intro to the world of Creole. Delicious.
Sit at the counter, looks like the fun spot!
Chris Lindsey
My kids and I dined here on New Years Eve. We ordered Blackened Alligator, Crawfish Pies, Chargrilled Oysters, Fish Tacos, and Blackened Redfish. The food was great, service was really good, and atmosphere was good. Glad we ate here and enjoyed our trip.
Brenda
Excellent food! We ordered fish and shrimp with fries and everything was delicious? The gumbo soup was great, as well. We came here on the recommendation by the bellhop from our hotel and we were glad we did. It was crowded but we got in pretty quick. The waitresses were all very friendly.
Ana Jordan
This is our second time visiting Felixs' the first time we just ordered some of all the oysters they have and enjoyed them. This time they didn't have two of them so we just got the charbroiled oysters. For drinks we ordered margaritas (forgot the name, it's on the cocktail menu). For entrees we had a shrimp poboy which was good. Fries were hot and fresh and the pasta jambalaya. The pasta was room temperature and was more pasta than anything. Even with that the politeness of the staff makes up for it and we will always visit for a taste of oysters
Robin COLE
Best oysters Rockefeller I’ve ever eaten. 6 is a meal If I lived in NOLA I’d eat here often. I had their oyster po boy yesterday is was one of the best also. Fast friendly service too.
Tim Richardson
Real New Orleans right here!
This is where the locals go when the locals go to Bourbon Street.
There might be a line out on the sidewalk but the wait is worth it - I had the Seafood Sampler (all fried, I'm off my diet but it was worth it!).
Kina
Finding a place to eat on a Saturday night in the French Quarter without reservations can be a nightmare - SO happy to have found Felix's. Relatively short wait to get 2 spots at the bar. Good selection of draft beer. Solid char grilled oysters. Superb softshell crab poboy.
jummy
The food here was pretty good. You MUST have rhe charboiled oyster. My BFF is still talking abt it a week later. And get the full platter. The jambalaya, shrimp poboy and their meat pie was also good. The gumbo was eehh. Highly recommend getting a couple of things and sharing. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. The hostess though...rude!!!! Luckily the food made up for her attitude. All on all would def come back.
Aimee Lawson
We ate at Felix's and only had to wait about 20 minutes on a busy Saturday on Labor Day weekend at prime lunchtime. The food was delicious. The fried gator was the best I've ever tasted. I also had the shrimp poboy and side of gumbo. So good! Definitely recommend!
Grace M
The char grilled oysters are amazing! The BBQ shrimp also! I don't think I have had anything here I didn't love.
Jason Chen
Excellent service and life-changing dishes. The staff were so nice. The oysters Rockefeller and red beans & rice we're amazing
cody whittington
Fantastic chargrilled oysters and the alligator bites were a surprising hit.
Be mindful that this is off Bourbon Street, therefore you’re likely to hit a line. In my experience, it’s usually easier to get in here than Acme.
Steve
I go to Felix every time I'm in NOLA. French Quarter store maintains it's integrity and quality. Grabbed a bowl of seafood gumbo and a half dozen char-grilled oysters for lunch. Service was excellent and food delicious. I'd give them 5 stars except that the gumbo was over salted this time.
Fannie May
Our server Paul was super efficient and good at his job. I had the turtle soup which is a hit. We had the fried gator which was delicious and the crab dip which was just okay. I'd love to come back though and try more.
Suzy Keidel
Great food and friendly staff. A loud, no nonsense restaurant but all the food was delicious. Baked oysters were great. Dip your bread in the sauce! The crab cakes and crab dip were both outstanding. The various po boys and sides (red beans and rice and etouffee) were yummy. Worth a visit.
Giuseppe Giorlando
I had only the char-grilled oysters and they were amazing! First time eating a not-raw oyster! The environment is nice and local with friendly and talkative crew
Jonathan Taylor
Don’t wait in a huge line at Acme Oyster house. This place is wonderful. Some of the best oysters I’ve ever had. Best food ever. Great wait staff with a great location. We will definitely be back A+
Amy Schilling
We had the friend shrimp platter, half a po'boy and crawfish (word I can't spell and even auto correct doesn't know what I'm talking about) as well as the chargrilled oysters. I found the shrimp a touch overcooked but flavourful. The oyster po'boy was delicious but the chargrilled oysters were not a flavour we enjoyed. It tasted like they add liquid smoke to the butter and it's not a pleasant flavour. We would definitely eat here again. I also got a giant drink in a fish bowl that was fantastic and got the night started. I have no idea what it was because I basically just pointed at another table and said I'll have that.
N. Jada
Good Vibes. Good food, crab claws, gator bites, seafood gumbo was on point. Cory and Vee are both awesome. Great hospitality
Chris Chavez
I have had oysters from all over the United States, but these are the biggest and have the best flavor I have ever had, please come here, see James, and try some!! It was worth the wait and the prices. We also had the blackened stuffed Red Fish with Cole Slaw, and Grilled Vegetables. We Had the CrawFish tails with Gumbo, Great Flavors all Around. Best waiters, so friendly, come and try for yourself and as always, my 2 cents.
Ingrid
The char-grilled oysters are a must. Had the Felix Special po boy and it was good. The cocktails are ok, nothing special.
Diana Nguyen
We got the crab cakes, turtle soup (local fav) and the char-grilled oysters. Definitely get the char-grilled oysters, they were delicious.
Natalie Sanchez
This place is Delicious ❤️ The oysters are the best I have ever had , the employees are extremely friendly our waiter Justin was great . They were very busy worth the wait . We are for lunch and dinner here . If you have not been here You have to go
Rita
It was good.. but I wasn't impressed. Overpriced for the portion size.
Also, we found it odd that we waited in line for over 20 minutes... But walked into the room with 8 open tables? I THINK they made us wait outside to increase interest in the restaurant because the restaurant across the street had a line way out the door. #marketing . But who knows.
Jessi Clark
Overall a pretty good experience. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. Our table got half a dozen each of the oysters rockefeller and bienville and both were amazing. The po-boys were fresh and the shrimp was fried beautifully. The onion rings were average. It is a convenient spot to stop for lunch.
Quartz pad
I tried the trio soup and i like all of them, Oysters were amazing! The bartender lady was friendly, they were busy but still take good care of me, I really appreciated it :)
Becky Clark
Cold beer, amazing cooked oysters, and speedy service. We had other food other than oysters, but I would only return for the oysters and etouffee. This is an affordable lunch option. They have half a po boy with a side which was filling. The shrimp po boy was a short on the meat portion and had a lot of bread. I chose gumbo as my side. It tasted burnt. We also had the crawfish etouffee, which was fantastic! Loved the oysters Rockefeller. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, even with the gumbo.
Chris Rush
Quaint little joint where they shuck oysters in front of you with a friendly banter. Crawfish etouffee, red beans and rice and jambalaya sampler was exquisite. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic New Orleans cuisine with a genuine atmosphere.
Aatiyah Reid
The char grill oysters was so delicious I had 2 dozen. The Fry alligator is amazing taste like chicken nuggets so delicious
Jeff Burisek
Always a fun experience. Right across the street from a NOLA staple, but this place deserves so much more credit. BBQ shrimp, char-grilled oysters & so much more. Great place, great service!!!
Erich Bublitz
If you want the best chargrilled oysters in the French Quarter, this is the place to go. They don't cover them in too much that covers the taste of the oyster. Some places put so much parmesan cheese it is like eating a chewy pizza. They allow the oyster to shine through. Still no shortage of delicious butter.
Breoshshala Martin
These might be the best chargrilled oysters I’ve ever had. They did not disappoint. I have been looking forward to chargrilled oysters for a minute and these honestly made my night! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I will definitely be back.
Took one star away because I wasn’t a fan of the old fashioned. It had muddled cherry’s in the bottom so it made it a little too sweet.
Chad Parson
Everything is super delicious! Great Crawfish Etoufee and yhe pecan pie was amazing!!! Definitely a good place to pop in when you're New Orleans.
Bob L
Came around at around 12:30pm on a Thursday in March and had to wait only about 10 minutes outside.
Our experience here was just ok. My advice? Just come here for the oysters and you'll be good. (In which case you can just sit at the bar and enjoy the view of oysters being shucked!.
Items we ordered (as of 3/2022).
- Crab cake - $15.95 - This was a big disappointment. 2 small patties provided which isn't the end of the world but it was clear that the crab was not fresh as it had a fishy aftertaste to it. I would give this a pass next time.
- Six Oysters on the Half Shell (MP) - $14.95 - This was good. Large oysters that were fresh. Came with a side of cocktail sauce and horseradish. Would recommend.
- Six Oysters Chargrilled (MP) - $18.95 - This was our first time having it and it was great. Awesome mix of the chargrilled flavor and butter/breadcrumb combination. If you've never had oysters chargrilled before then definitely try this.
- Felix Special Po Boy - $16.95 - Not bad but not amazing. Bread was a bit chewy and the shrimp and oyster was concentrated in the middle with nothing at the ends.
- BBQ Shrimp Po Boy - $16.95 - I would skip this. Was expecting large pieces of shrimp. Instead I got baby shrimp that was again concentrated in the middle with nothing at the ends. Didn't really taste the BBQ flavor. Disappointing.
If we were to come back I would just sit at the bar and have a bunch of oyster and pass on the rest.
Makenzi Ewing
Came on a busy Friday afternoon. Waited outside for a bit but seated at Bar shortly. Great server. Made me a wonderful gin martini. Had the fried alligator and it was perfect snack.
Natalia Sonsin- Diaz
We got the chargrilled oysters during oyster happy hour & GOT DAM they were good. You need to come try them if you haven’t had them & loved them. Also got blackened shrimp & red fish and those were just ok & honestly not worth the price. Onion rings were really good but the other sides were just ok (grits, jambalaya, veggies).
M P
Oyster is good, but pasta was too oily, the dining environment is not so clean… but nice to try!
Rachelle
A great spot for oysters in the French Quarter! Our group tried them prepared: char-grilled, Bienville, and Rockefeller. This spot fills up fast, we dined in before the dinner rush.
Thuc Anh Nguyen
This is the first place we went when we first hit NOLA in Feb 2020 and boy did we try everything. The blackened alligator, the turtle soup, the jambalayas, the chargrilled oysters, and Felix welcomed us well. The waiter was kind enough to explain the menu and introduced his recommendations and THEY WERE EXCELLENT!
t Hokim
Great Felix boody mary! But rest of meal only ok. The redfish was overcooked and the fries cold although the burger was good. Not worth the cost. Spot was very busy and other TripAdvisor reviews on average was 4 star. Olde NOLA cookery was much better food (nearby spot)
Mark S
Oh dear lord save me. This is probably the best food on the planet. My usual is dozen grilled and bowl of red beans and rice. I have been know to eat here every night I am in town.
J.C. Foster
Our 1st time here and we loved it. We sat at the oyster bar and had a blast. Michael Jackson ( pictured) Gator and Big E made us feel a part of the family. The service is great and the food is even better 😋. The drinks are served nice and strong. This is added to our must stops for Nola. …
Sabine Bos
According to the company I was with, the oysters were amazing!! We had to wait quiet a while though, which was a shame. Salad was ok!
Christina deGraaf
Best seafood I had the past 3 days I was in New Orleans. Oysters here are a must. The bar is a good place to sit they are nice people. Highly recommend and I will be going back
Hannah McCollom
5 star food. 10 star service from Miss Jackson (I hope I got her name right). Trying to decide if I should just use food delivery services and only eat here the rest of the trip.
Tychiea W
Loved this place! The service from Paul was great as he was very familiar with the menu items and was able to answer all our questions... Started with a variety of oysters which were all good... Tried turtle soup for the first time which my fiance loved...The best thing was the blackened alligator!! Make sure you try it... First time ever seeing it prepared a way other than fried! Almost wanted to go eat there a second time just for the blackened alligator! Great drinks too
Katherine Ham
I’d always heard when you go to New Orleans, you had to go get a po boy at Felix’s and it did not disappoint! Both Felix’s special and the fried shrimp po boys were delicious! Tried a raw oyster for the first time ever and not only was it absolutely delicious but it was also the biggest oyster I’d ever seen (fresh and local too!). The char grilled oysters were great too as were the red beans and rice. You really can’t go wrong with anything you get here
Danette Johnson
Food was so delicious! Had a couple of "firsts" in my life.. the grilled oysters and Bienville oysters.. which i thought I'd would not like.. I "loved", also tried the Gator Pu-boy.. aka alligator meat. The staff was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful time.. 😋❤ they even celebrated my bday with my family.
Dan Burnett
Would highly recommend this place. The long wait (45 min) was worth it on a Friday night. Server was prompt, friendly, and helpful. Made us feel at home. Had half shell, charbroiled, and bienville style oysters, and the half shell were the best in my opinion. Jambalaya was pretty good, and the red beans and rice were very good. Would recommend. It can get really loud at times, so depending on the other patrons it can be harder to have a conversation.
Jason Watts
Fantastic poboy's and chargrilled oysters! Maybe the best on Bourbon Street. Super friendly staff, go check them out.
Chris Murphy
Stopped by today and had great seafood gumbo and blackened redfish with veggies and grits. Magnificent and everybody there treats you like family. Good people, good place.

My friend and I sat at the bar. The service was amazing. The drink was delicious. And our oysters were the bomb.
Tiffany Gaitan
This place never disappoints! The oysters and gumbo are fantastic and the waitstaff is fabulously attentive.
Gabby Scherle
Go go go! The perfect way for a midwesterner to experience New Orleans food. You must get the char grilled clams & alligator bites to start. Then the bayou sampler platter was amazing!! Red beans, jambalaya, and Etouffee.
Sara Sullivan
Michael made me a fabulous cocktail. Fabulous service. Fabulous food. Got the seafood platter, but the poboys looked totally amazing too. Coming back!
Diana Smith
Great spot for oysters! Gulf oysters char grilled, raw, Rockefeller and every other option you’d like. The red beans and rice are amazing. Drinks are strong - get a to-go cup.
Courtney O
Food was very delicious 😋. Especially the char grilled oysters. Our Fe was awesome, she took very good care of our party of 7.
Wichulee
Best char-grilled oysters hands down! Crab cakes and fried crab claws are yummy!!!
Katherine Damisch
The food was delicious, but was not a great value. The shrimp platter had 6-8 PERFECTLY cooked shrimp that were oh-so-good, tasty hush puppies, and a few bites of coleslaw. The bulk of the meal was just french fries. We did enjoy the charred oysters. They were delicious, and we preferred them to the ones topped with cheese and seafood. 12 oysters and one shrimp platter set us back over $80 with tip. We prefer a better value.
gina sandoval
I never have had oysters before and this definitely changed my mind on them! I’m afraid I won’t find them this delicious where I am from!! The flavor was amazing. The red beans and rice was very tasteful with good seasonings. Fried pickles were also good!! We had a great experience everyone was so nice! It was clean you can go there with a big or small group. The wait seems to look long but we got in pretty fast!
Ziggy Fright
Wanted to treat Mom and Pop to a nice birthday brunch. Visited the one in Mandeville. Felix’s was super accommodating and let us come in before our guests to set up a reserved table with balloons. The menu was great and the oysters were done well. Bottomless mimosas for brunch was a great incentive for picking this place. Service was excellent and the manager, Pamela, was great with helping us prepare the surprise. 5/5 would definitely go back.
Melissa Thompson
Sat at the bar and had a great time with the staff. Had charbroiled oysters, key lime pie and pecan pie. All were delicious. If you have to stand in line to get in, just know it goes quickly but we'll worth the wait.
Valerie Paxton
My favorite place for oysters in the Quarter. Always super cold and delicious. Great place for a big party too. Reasonable prices for a crowd. It's also fun to sit at the bar and talk to the shuckers.
Chris Lanier
Awesome food and great service and the oyster bar staff are attentive and funny! Besides the oysters, the gumbo is a must. I go here everytime I am in New Orleans at least 2 times for lunch or dinner.
Stacia Rayon
I wanted some charbroiled oysters and THIS place!!! OMG! They clean them in your face so you know. I also order the fried fish platter. All I'm going to say is 🗣 GO GET YOU SOME!!!
Miguel Felix
Good food and wonderful service! First time having raw oysters. Wasn't my favorite, but the Rockefeller was!
Edward Bonilla
Excenllent food, friendly staff, must try their fresh Oisters, seafood jambalaya and their soft shell crab. 🦀 …
Tina Rowland
We went here on a Saturday night and only had to wait a short time. We actually went to the entrance off Bourbon Street instead of Iberville. We had a great server named Steve. We started out with a dozen of chrgrilled oysters. They were absolutely perfect . They were still plump with melted cheese (not hard over-baked) and a lot of garlic butter. They were served with wonderful French bread to soak up all that garlic butter. They were the best we ate while in New Orleans. We had to order a second dozen. We also had a fried shrimp plate. While it was good, it was not the beat shrimp we had on our trip. I would definitely go back for the chargrilled oysters. If that is what you are looking for, this is the place for you. Steve was an excellent server and you should ask for him .
Andrea F
Touristy type place just barely off Bourbon Street. Friendly enough employees. The jambalaya was pretty darn good as were the oysters.
Rick Ball
Wow this is a hidden gem. Pro tip get there right as they open, no line to wait in. These were the fattest and most just oysters I've ever had. The food was so delicious. Our server was horribly inattentive, we had to get the manager to get our bill. The rest of the wait staff was on point. Highly recommend.
Juan Hoppert
It was good food. I got a dozen of Charbroiled Oysters. Was sitting at the bar.
Cindy Keely
A favorite stop in New Orleans. Grab a half po boy of your liking and a side of crawfish ettoufee, gumbo, or jambalaya. It won't disappoint.
Amanda Bergemann
We did not eat here; however, we did stop by for multiple drinks to go. I didn't get the woman's name at the window, but she was amazing. Thousand-watt-smile, super engaging. She was great with our children and makes fantastic drinks. Thank you to this unnamed bartender for making out French Quarter trip amazing! We appreciate you.
Fuji Jasper
The service was great and the oysters 🦪 were really good
I had both raw and char grill
courtney nunnally
We shared a dozen oysters and the fried seafood platter. The oysters were HUGE and delicious. The platter was perfectly seasoned and breaded. The service was super pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. Their are two entrances.
DON'T BE THROWN OFF by the more "dated" side. It's excellent. Treat yo'self! GREAT EXPERIENCE.
Jason Tilley
My wife and I had a dozen and a half raw oysters that were cold, briny and delicious...hot horseradish! My kids had a wagyu burger and charbroiled oysters and both dishes were amazing! I had a side order of turtle soup because I had to try it and it was delicious...like a rich beef soup....terrific meal in the French Quarter...highly recommended!
Pia Jackson
The bbq shrimp was so good I wanted to lick the plate. Service was awesome too....
Samantha Powers
When I visited NOLA, I went to at least six restaurants that offered fresh oysters and if you’re looking for the best raw this is the place to go. If you’re lucky enough to sit at the oyster bar, ask them for the large- they were as big as my hand!! Tasted amazing 🤩 Support local 💜 …
Bianca Pangindian
We can’t even describe how fantastic and how we can eat their Chargrilled Oyster over and over again! Price is more expensive than Acme’s but it is worth the food. This is the only restaurant that you can really taste the char (not in a bad way) when you eat the oyster. We had to fall in line for a few minutes to be seated. Servers are all attentive and nice. Will definitely recommend Felix!
John Cox
Arrived for dinner at about 5:00 p.m. on the 20th September. The hostess was rude when I requested to be seated at a table rather than the bar. She pushed my stuff to the side and commented as we walked to the table that it "didn't matter about seating and wanting a quieter location". Our waitress Katrina was polite and attentive for the most part. The food was reasonably priced. Ordered calamari and a side of fried oysters. Small portions. Loud atmosphere unless you enter through the door at Bourbon Street.
Ravit Komraz
The food was OK.
Tacos were very nice, oysters were worth trying!
All the staff were nice
Dan Anthony
This restaurant offer some really good chargrilled oysters and some awesome BBQ shrimps. Our server Ramona was great at handling our large group of 8. Our drinks were refilled promptly and the food was very good. Prices were good too.
Roger Patteson
Classic FQ eatery. Go early or wait in line. The oysters were perfect. The shrimp platter was a solid 8/10 - knocking off 2pts for the cole slaw: the portion was about two spoonfuls and tasted a bit sour or spoiled. I might knock another 1/2pt off for the amount of fries to shrimp ratio. The atmosphere is loud and busy as to be expected. The wait/server staff ranged from super nice all the way to nearly annoyed. Lol. Comes with the territory. Overall a good experience
Alex Martinez
Met the highest expectations we could possibly have dining off of bourbon. Delicious food, strong drinks, and alot of culture.
Luis Madrigal
Great experience. Vanisha, "V" was an absolute pleasure to work with. She made us feel right at home, explaining the menu options and giving honest advice on what to order. It was our families last night in town and we wanted great seafood! This place doesn't disappoint. Hope to revisit the next time I'm in town!
Xenorphine X
raw oysters were very fresh and nice. very long queue all the time but quite worth the wait. the service wasn't exceptional but good enough due to the sheer amount of people. other dishes were okay, but french fries were disappointingly soggy.
Dymisha Adamson
I was stuck on going to Acme but they were closed. Came to Felix across the street instead and the hospitality alone won me over! Bryan and Kali were amazing. We sat at the bar where they shuck oysters. Had the char-grilled oysters, blackened gator and turtle soup. Everything was amazing!!! I'm still here and will probably order the BQ shrimp before I leave. Thank you for a great experience!!!
Heather Smith
If I could this would be 10 Stars ⭐️
The staff is PHENOMENAL!!!!!! The Food and the drinks too Die For!! Everything from the char grilled oysters 🦪 BBQ Shrimp 🦐 soft shell crab 🦀 Po Boy, Turtle 🐢 Soup, grilled chicken sandwich and Bloody Mary with the Fixins!!!! WOW 🤩 and the $$$$$$$ was just right!!! If you haven’t been here YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!
ASHLEY CANNON
Excellent food & staff. Family oriented & always willing to answer any questions you may have. Also, accommodation is excellent. This restaurant sits a lot more people than most think. There are 2 sides to go into on both sides of the street for a host stand to be sat. Drinks are also delicious.
Kat
Be prepared to wait for 30 min or so. Our hotel clerk told us about this place but the food was average and service was ok. What we really didn't like was that it was so loud we couldn't have conversation without yelling hard.
Purvis Scott
Can't wait to make my own charbroiled oysters!! Will definitely be back for this New Orleans treat!!
Sam Schmidt
Great bloody, and that's coming from someone who lived in Milwaukee for 5 years. Oysters were excellent and the service was quick and kind.
Athena Valdez
The food was great, however the place was a bit dirty. They could use some updating fresh paint better tables and just the bathrooms were bad too.
I would not let this deter you from trying as I said the food was great. YOU HAVE TO TRY the Bienville Oysters...WOW!
Rachel Weikle
We had a fantastic meal and excellent service! Mark was our waiter and extremely attentive. We had a group of 6 and didn't have to wait to be seated. Definitely plan on a stop here if you're hitting Bourbon Street!
Didi Diaz
Came in for lunch, hostess is a SWEETHEART! Amari was very nice and welcoming. Great for our first impression of walking in. The tables are lined with paper. the bar was quick! I had a French 75(my go to) and enjoyed every sip of it. We ordered dozen of oyster. Came out quickly. You make your own cocktail sauce which can be a good thing or bad thing. We enjoyed it, the horseradish is DANGEROUS. Be careful. enjoyed our meal and our experiences. They do have crawfish and it is delicious
Ashley Altenbernd
Oysters were amazing! Best I've had in a long time. The drinks were delicious and the service was prefect. Kim was excellent, helping me pick out a local brew and food that would fit with my allergies.
rob fischer
It's not fancy, but it's great. Wonderful Po Boys, grilled oysters, and other food. No frills atmosphere and service. Good drinks too. This is a perfect spot to get your food on near bourbon street.
Terrence King
Conventionally Located one block off Canal and Bourbon Street on the heart of the French Quarters. This is one of best restaurants in the Quarters. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I ordered the Shrimp and Catfish with a side order of a Grill Chicken Breast. All of the food was hot and served fresh out of the kitchen. Everything was perfectly seasoned.
Richard Zamarripa
Great food. Excellent service. Waitress Tira, was the best. We had grilled oysters for the 1st time. Unbelievably good. My wife enjoyed the gumbo and gumboliya and the grits were to die for. Whenever in the NOLA and the French Quarter, this is the place to eat. Will go again and again.
Clabon Wilkey
The service was excellent! Asante took great care of us. The soft shell crab was delicious and the charbroiled oysters were perfect. The Old Fashioned was a little too sweet, but our food was perfect.
Jennifer Morehead
Felix's never disappoints. The jambalaya was so good and the oysters were so good.
Shayla Nicole
The best fried shrimp we have ever had! The atmosphere was amazing as our oyster chuckers sang songs while chuckin along! Love it and when we are back this is our go to spot! I can eat this fried chicken in the morning it's so dam good.
Sushi Sue
There’s quite a few “interesting” varieties of Southern / seafood food here that’s a must try, like turtle soup, alligator, and oysters. It’s a great place to try all these and more at reasonable prices, as we were only able to find turtle soup at restaurants $$$ and more. The service is not bad for Bourbon street - they’re obviously busy but still try to be attentive.
Nel N
The food here was absolutely amazinggggggggg! Every single last thing I ordered! I had the chargrilled and Rockefeller oysters during the happy hour, blackened alligator, crab cakes and the crab dip, and it’s been about a week and I am still obsessing over how good EVERYTHING was! Hands down this was my favorite place out of the many I’ve went to in New Orleans.. if you eat anywhere, I highly suggest it be here, but make sure to go during the happy hour because appetizers are half off and without it, it might get a bit pricey. It will be so worth it!
Jennifer Campbell
The food was amazing! They were busy, but our waitress Fe? Was the best. She had the best attitude and was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place. They chargrilled oysters were the best!
Chase PESO
Saw Felix's chargrilled oysters on YouTube and had to book a flight to the beautiful city of New Orleans. And Felix's did not disappoint, the Oysters are some of the best I've ever had, drizzled in seasoned herb butter and bread crumbs served with French bread, they come out piping hot and are just delicious morsels. I definitely recommend this spot. The oysters are a must try.
Erik Malmos
For my first time experience - we sat at the bar and had a dozen... then ordered another dozen.. after an ICE COLD Purple Haze on tap... we ordered a 3rd dozen and before you know it, we went through 4 dozen oysters. If you want a raw bar, this is what you want. The other food items looked legit but sitting at the bar hanging with the guys working and eating oysters is the experience you want!!
Rene' “RENODADDY” Ortiz
Everyone recommends ACME, I've tried both. This place is across the street less then half the line and an oyster is an oyster is an oyster. Pro Tip- sit at the bar. Our guy Johnny kept serving up raw oysters she we only ordered 1dzn. The char-grilled oysters were incredible.
pedro ramirez
Fantastic service delicious food and excellent drinks!! Bustling at dinner time!
This is a must try when you’re in NOLA. Competitive prices, high quality food and 8n the French Quarter!
Krutika Simon
This is always our first stop in New Orleans! First off, be prepared for a long-ish wait if you are heading here for dinner - they do not take reservations. The raw oysters are our favorite here, but this time the char-broiled oysters were overdone. Their gumbo, crawfish etouffe, and jambalaya are all fantastic! Don’t miss this place if you are in town!
Debbie McCormick
The best place to go for oysters in New Orleans. We always love sitting at the oyster bar and talking with the shuckers! All of them are such great guys to get to know. The red beans and rice were also great.
Carly Hagins
Stopped in for lunch during the week and didn't have to wait at all. Service was attentive and friendly. I get the impression we sort of ordered wrong. Raw oysters weren't really a stand-out, and the po boys (oyster and crayfish) were just OK. Turtle soup and red beans were both good. The place has diner vibes but not exactly diner prices.
Kittikun C.
The food came in quite small portions and a bit pricey. Turtle soup is too salty for us.
Heather Maltby
We were told to go Drago’s and Acme for oysters and we did and were disappointed. We came across the street to Felix and were blown away! Nicole was our bartender and waitress and we were throughly impressed. The raw and charbroiled oysters were better here than anywhere else we’ve had in New Orleans and we’ve been eating around the city for 4 days. Nicole’s “special sauce” she created in front of you rivals all other day sauces that could be provided anywhere. You will never be disappointed sitting at the bar with Nicole and having the best raw and charbroiled oysters in town.
Patrick Campbell
Best part of the experience was that most of the restaurants in the area were operating as reservation only. We stood in a line for about 20 minutes before our party of 4 was seated. Wait staff was very attentive and everything we ordered came quickly.
Linda M
Good food but very loud. They create one ticket only no matter how many people are in the party.
Phillip Hunter
We went to Felix’s after the other place we wanted to go had a long line. I wasn’t disappointed with the food, price, or service. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and upbeat. They do have several “market price” dishes but I didn’t find that unreasonable. We sat at the bar and ordered 1/2doz Rockefeller oysters, fried gator, fried calamari, cup of crawfish etouffee and cup of seafood gumbo. I’d order all that again but the Etouffee had to be the best dish! Would go back again.
Felicia Lea
There was a line outside but it moved fairly quickly. We were a party of six....no reservations or call ahead seating. Char-broiled oysters are fantastic! I also had oyster Rockefeller and raw oysters. Clearly I eat oysters and they all were delicious!!! Casual, fun environment. The LSU vs. Bama game was on so it was loud but it's downtown NOLA so what do you expect...lol! Enjoy, I did!
Paul Ryan
This place is right across the street from Acme and I have to say I'm very happy to choose Felix's for some awesome seafood. I'm from out of state, and as soon as the bartender heard that, he gave me a bunch of different samples of Louisiana ales and beers (Abita's Purple Haze was my favorite).
The blackened alligator was the best gator I've had and the oysters were fantastic. The service was kinda sporadic at times and I think that was because we'd order from both the bartender and our server which may have caused miscommunication. Either way though, they were great and fun to be around.
Overall, amazing experience and all you have to do is look across the street from the staple on Bourbon Street.
xiaorantong
The raw oysters are addictive, I finished one and half dozen but still can't have enough.
The bar host improvised a song because I am a Chinese customer, I couldn't understand much of the lyrics but it sure helped me another half dozen.
I would say this is the USA type of sushi.
John Pistilli
Bartender was distracted and should have had her hair tied back. Very long and she was swinging all over. Food service right? Oysters good alligator good. Cool vibe
Ellis Brown
Waited a 1 1/2 hours for a cajun barbecue shrimp po boy that was cold and didn't taste anything like barbecue or cajun. Must say that the oysters were superb. And if it wasn't for one of the oyster bar staff giving us complimentary oysters for our wait, we would have walked out. Our waitress was very apologetic but did nothing to remedy the situation even after we complained about the po boy sandwich. Next time will wait 1hr 1/2 in the long line at Acme oyster house. Highly recommended.
Gelicia Jones
Had the oyster po boy and gumbo. The gumbo was the highlight of my meal. Very good! However the po boy was kinda boring. It was more bread than anything else. The oysters were so small I didn't experience any flavor.
Kyla Morris
Everything was amazing. We sat the bar and had very fast and friendly service. We got the charbroiled oysters, soup trio, crab dip, and the seafood platter. 10/10 will come back here!
Michelle Wang
A little noisy but the food is good. Love the jambalaya!
HyungOppaHelper
Their Jambalaya was simple but powerful enough to eat 2 more dishes of it. The raw oysters were awesome!! Personally I prefer the raw to the fried oysters but the buffalo flavor was also good. They also have grilled oysters if you don’t want to wait in a long line. There’s also Alligator and turtle soup. The fried seafood po’ boi was very good!! The waitress took good care of me, very personable, attentive and fast. There was no line when I went and was way better than Acme next door.
Jarett Bauer
Food was really good. Great diner feel. Very busy so service was a little slow but definitely had that vibe that worked for what they were doing. I’d attribute it more to a lunch location than a dinner location, but it was our first day in town and we were happy to have a great meal!
Callie Phelps
A month after dining here and my partner is still talking about the turtle soup. We arrived here shortly before they closed and still were met with some of the best service in New Orleans. Super friendly server who always made sure we were taken care of.
Michael Dobbins
Amazing! Acme, right across the street, had a line that was easily an hour wait so we decided to try Felix's. Only one couple was in line in front of us. Maybe a 10, 15 minute wait. Started with a cold Abita Amber and some char-grilled oysters. Probably the best oysters I've ever had. Next up was the main course. Went with the soft shell crab platter. 2 very decent sized crabs. Came out hot and ready to eat. They were seasoned perfectly. Hushpuppies were perfectly hard to almost a crisp but so soft on the inside. Loved em. The staff acted busy but not overwhelmed. Always had time for you if you needed anything. And did it with a smile. Felix's may have just stole acme's title of favorite crab and oyster spot in NOLA. Definitely will be back
Diego Ochoa
I dont write reviews too often, but this was a must. The food was amazing and totally worth the wait. If you are alone or with a party of two, you can opt to sit at the bar (cheat code). The only "issue" at the bar is that you're by the oyster-schucking station, which didn't bother us at all. I STORNGLY recommend the chargrilled oysters and taste on New Orleans entree. With a Taste of NO I had the etoufee, jambalaya, and gumbo - each part mind-blowingly good. We were taken care of by Moe at the bar. He was friendly, hospitable, and a joy to talk to. We LOVED this place and will return whenever I visit NOLA.
JAMES EUBANKS
Man what a great place With great food and great staff..OH AND STRONG DRINKS
Bob Fettig
Out of oysters bienville and rockafellar but we survived. Jambalaya was good, tried the fish tacos, decent! Had a version of fried oysters/gravy and oysters du jore. Misquoted market prices of oysters, were obviously more once we got the bill, hence the 3 stars. Oysters were like a quarter size on the du jore. Not what we are use to. Definitely a place with great atmosphere being a block off Bourbon Street.
Greg Williams
Went off a recommendation from the Hilton and glad we did. We got great seats with the window open to people watch. The grilled oysters and bread were so good. I got the oyster and shrimp Po boy and it was ample portions. With all the other big name commercialized spots, Felix holds it on. I recommend it solidly.
Janie McInnis
It was everything we was told it would be.. Charbroiled oysters were amazing
D B
Food was ok not great. Was going to got acmes but the line was long and there wasn't a line at Felix's. Half a dozen raw oysters was 14.99 MP, seafood platter was 28.99, which was pricy for not much food and seafood gumbo at 7.99.
Michael Wellborn
Everything was decent. Ramona was great, but it's loud, cramped, and the AC vent condensation was dripping on our table. Oysters good, alligator bits were small and dry, not great.
ben l
Waited 4 nights to avoid that crazy line. Best time I think to avoid the long lines would be 9 pm.
The oysters in a half shell were fresh & juicy and those char-grilled oysters had that BBQ grill taste without being dry. The only thing that my taste buds didn't like was the butter sauce drenching.
Pricing was not bad and the service was attentive and friendly....will be back to try other things on the menu!
Chris Evans
Worth the short wait in line. We usually do ACME for grilled oysters but they were closed. Buffalo oysters, grilled oysters, Bienville oysters.... do em all. Also best tap beer selection I saw this trip.
Will Jackson
Fantastic Creole food. We ate here our first night in New Orleans on a friend's recommendation, and it was some of our favorite food from the whole trip. We got the oysters Rockefeller, gumbo, and blackened alligator, and all three were amazing. There was a bit of a wait and I don't think they take reservations, so I'd recommend trying to get there early.
Jennifer Boyd
Yum, yum, and YUM! They are cooking great Cajun food like it should be. Their char grilled oysters are some of the best in town. Fried shrimp and catfish platter was awesome. Red beans and rice were classicly good. Barbecue shrimp was good, but I like mine better. Voneisha, our server, was super amazing, just call her "Vee" 😁. This is definitely one of our new go to's for New Orleans! Oh, and good bread pudfing, a bit different, but so good.
Andrew Corley
Everyone liked the fried shrimp, crab cakes and fried oysters. Price was reasonable considering it’s in the French quarter but the tables and chairs are cheap diner style. They wouldn’t do separate checks.
Neil Fernandes
As with most restaurants on Bourbon St, expect to wait to be seated at Felix. The charbroiled oysters are good, service is quick- they want to get you in and out of there as soon as they can to accommodate the long line ups. The gator bites tasted like chicken but more wholesome. Gumbo soup and jambalaya were good too. Overall a good place and reasonable prices for the area and the quality of food. Would recommend this place.
a murrell
Best gumbo around here! We had the chargrilled oysters and let me tell you...the garlic, butter and seasoning was top notch! Try the Zulu margarita also
Toni Tzvetanova
We really enjoyed this restaurant and its food. The atmosphere is great. The big open doors/windows add a great feeling to this place. It makes you feel like you are outside on the street (Bourbon str) listening to all the sounds and music that Bourbon str is famous for, but you are comfortably sitting inside with the AC on enjoying your food and drinks. The food was excellent. We had the oysters, of course, raw and chargrilled, the seafood etouffee, and the gumbo. The bloody Mary's were phenomenal served with an oyster on the side! The staff were great and very friendly and attentive.
A I
This is your typical restaurant that serves Seafood in New Orleans the service was good and the food came out faster than I expected which was a nice surprise. the oysters that are grilled are really delicious to be honest with you. I'm not big on oysters but this is a really good way to eat it there's a photo that I took of it also the catfish french fries shrimp we're all good good place to go and just relax have some drinks enjoy each other's company
Miranda Steier
Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar is a high-energy place. Plenty of attractive, hanging lights keep the place light, bright and airy. There was a very mixed, touristy crowd when we were there for dinner in the spring and the place was full of pleasant, happy chatter. They seemed rather busy and the place was full but there was only a short wait for a table (summer and the high tourist season may be a different matter). Servers were friendly and responsive but also very busy and we had to get their attention rather than having them check in with us. Table seating is a bit cramped with little room to move around but it seems to be part of the atmosphere of the place and it all works out well. We talked with people at neighboring tables. There is a beverage bar and an oyster bar with additional seating. We had Char-grilled Oysters, Oysters Rockefeller and Red Fish. All were delicious! Bathrooms are very small and you have to dance around each other a bit if there is more than one person there. Overall, well prepared food and a pleasant dining experience that we would be happy to repeat in the future.
Mimi Gattinella
RUN DON'T WALK to this great place. We ate at the bar, and that was just perfect for the two of us. I had the fresh oysters. Shucker, Preston was simply AWESOME and not only good at shucking right in front of you but entertaining also. Our waiter, Nus (sp?) was spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed our night. YUM!
Cassidy Dugan
Friendly staff and quick service. Chargrilled oysters were cooked perfectly, but they could have used a bit more cheese. Shrimp and grits were great. Everyone in our party said the food was really good.
Brian Serva
We've never liked oysters. Gave em a try all across the U.S. Having them done all sorts of ways. Our first day in New Orleans our shuttle driver recommend Felix's. (Only tourists go to Acme, locals go to Felix's) I told him our apprehensions, he said get them char-grilled. He wasn't wrong. Tasted like a buttery, garlicky filet mignon in a shell. Haven't found any other oysters since Felix's that I can say we liked.
S KL
Friend oysters were excellent, customer service was good… only thing I didn’t like was the menu, the prices were deceiving… please be mindful of the food that have MP, prices vary (I ordered something that said $13 on the menu and they charged me $30 because it said MP and no one explained that… it wasn’t about the money, I just didn't like not know the price of my food… when I brought it up with the manager, he told me they would revise the menu, but didn’t do any damage control… geez.
Jonathan Wong
Absolutely phenomenal oysters. No need to go to acme across the street. I came twice during my one week stay, my local friend took me here and I returned with coworkers. The oysters are fresh and delicious. Multiple types available, some fresh, buffalo is a fried one then put back into the shell, then the grilled mmhhmm who doesn't like the butter sauce??
Melissa Mitchell
I was there celebrating my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend, our server V was so wonderful and was always checking up on us. Thank you so much V for your wonderful hospitality and making our anniversary dinner so special
mary j
The charbroiled oysters were great. I loved my jambalaya pasta, lots of flavor. The gumbo was too bland for me.
Trevor Bingham
Service here was very good. The food is excellent. We had a couple of appetizers. The fried pickles are good...very tangy. The fried alligator is really good. I had the blackened shrimp. It was really good. Steamed veggies are a good side. The hush puppies are awesome. Definitely would come back.
Reshma “majestic” Tarachand
The charbroiled oysters are DELICIOUS, not to mention the BBQ shrimp! We were heading to Acme Oyster House, but there was a long wait outside and we were hungry, and since Felix's was right opposite and there was no wait time, we gave it a try. It was a good decision, everything was delicious. I'm not an oyster person, but after eating charbroiled oysters, it will be my favorite. The price was a bit high, but it's worth it. The BBQ shrimp is a must try if you are a shrimp lover!
Jerry Bolding
We had a great day here and the service was off the Chain. I had turtle soup for the first time in my life and it was great my wife and crawfish etouffee. she said it was wonderful next time you go there ask for Asisa. She was amazing.
Wing Chan
Food was fantastic! Was there on MLK day and the queue at Felix and Acme were super long. Went there another day to try their signature dishes, simply succulent and wonderful.
Oyster were fresh, sweet and juicy, no other description needed. Tried the garlic butter oyster too and this will be for people who like a stronger taste. Oyster were grill or broiled with generous garlic; char at the outside but fresh in the inside. God's control of timing. I have tried another chain of grill oyster that simply lost it juices. A must try.
I ate the shrimp and oyster platter too. Again deep fried outside but still moist and tasty inside. It is good!

Summary: Casual restaurant serving Creole staples and seafood. The char grilled oysters are excellent and possess a savory flavor from being cooked on the coal. Turtle soup is also a solid choice and is very flavorful. The blackened alligator, however, was served cold and was blend in flavor. Coupled with slow service, the reviewer had to wait long intervals before the individual dishes arrived.
Must Try: Char grilled oysters and Turtle soup.
Avoid: Blackened alligator.
⭐⭐⭐ - Good, worth a visit

We got the raw oysters on half shell and they were fresh and the cocktail sauce was really good. There was no wait on a Monday at 8pm! The shrimp and oyster po boy was good but not as good as those po boy places where they serve just po boys. Their fried soft shell crab was good but the bottom part is soggy. Their jambalaya is a must! The service is great!
theresa weldon
Yum! Chargrilled oysters were my favorite. Wasn't really impressed with the crab cakes though. The atmosphere and service was phenomenal!
Rowena Flores
This was our second time to Felix's as we told our fam that we actually liked their Chargrilled Oysters more than Acme's--and they agreed! We had good and prompt service and all the food was delicious. My brother asked how big their oysters were cuz he had been craving them, but wasn't going to get them if they were just mediocre in size. Our waitress assured him they were a good size and boy, was he happy! You really can't go wrong no matter what you order here. We got the Fried seafood platter, a couple of Po'Boys and their Bread Pudding--again all delicious! Only wish was that our table were a little bigger. We didn't have enough room to enjoy our delicious food.

Felix's was a decent experience for us. The overall food was ok and what I expected from a southern kitchen; nothing that amazed us. The oyster rockerfeller was cheesy and the gumbo was good. We did try alligator meat, which to me tasted a lot like chicken. The meat was blackened and was flavorful with a cajun twist. Overall good dining experience and we didn't have to wait to long in line.
Steve Lindeman
Great place for crawfish, red beans and rice, and the chargrilled oysters are world class. April our waitress was wonderful and really engaged and made us feel welcome. Great place for lunch highly recommend it. The bloody Mary was very spicy and come with one raw oyster.
Al Spina
Wonderful oysters and even better service. The guys working at the bar doing the seafood were amazing. Will be back again.
James Gardner
There is a long wait most nights for Felix's it's proximity Bourbon Street doesn't hurt. The food is good especially if you are going for their specialty the oysters. Everything else is pretty standard New Orleans faire. We had a variety of oysters and each was pretty amazing. They service was excellent even on a busy night. So I say go ahead and wait in line here. The line across the street is usually worse :)

Came back a second time during 4 day visit.
After we've tried the grilled oyster at Acme and royal house, we still like the garlic butter flavored sauce at Felix's.
This time we also tried BBQ shrimp and fried crab finger. BBQ shrimp is dipped into black pepper sauce, which is a good sauce for bread. The fried crab finger is peeled. It's a good way to eat crabs.

Charcoal grilled oyster is grilled to perfection. Their size is also bigger and more consistent than the raw oysters as you can see from the pictures.
Shelly Gantenbein
A plus if you want Oysters! Best Oyster house in New Orleans!!! We pop in this place every time we have been to New Orleans. Always our first and last stop! 2 lines going into the place and worth the wait. This trip was the first time we were seated on the second floor and what a treat! 3 small tables overlooking Bourbon Street. Try the turtle soup too! Everything on this menu is tasty. It was night time too so the street lights were amazing and a jazz band playing music across the street really gave it the full New Orleans experience.
Vivian B
The oyster was juicy, fresh, and delicious. We got the char grilled oysters with butter and they were the best oysters we have ever eaten!!! The Bayou Sample Platter and the Seafood Gumbo were super, super delicious as well. Plus, Our waitress was really nice! Our overall experience was 10/10
Regina Wu
A solid 5 stars restaurant. One of my favorite restaurants during our 5 days trip to New Orleans.
We were planning to explore the Acme’s oyster at the cross street; however, the line was too damn long, and we followed the advice of the true yelpers and foodies. Of course, Felix wasn’t disappointed me.
Ordered:
Chargrilled Oysters: Must ordered item!! Very yummy, recommend dipping the toasted bread into the overfilled sauce.
Blackened Alligator: First time try the Alligator meat. Hmmm! It tastes like grilled chicken breast. Also, Blackened style layers the Alligator meat a unique smoky flavor.
Gulf Shrimp Plate: Love the sauce on the shrimp and the gumbo
Side Soft Shell Crab: Crispy and delicious.
Overall:
The quality of the oyster is perfect. They way they grill their oysters is spot on! Definitely, recommend to everyone when they visit NOLA.
Vanessa Gonzalez
I am so glad my husband and I chose to skip the long line at ACME and eat here. We sat at the bar which is the best experience ever. The workers at the bar were so engaging and made our seat at the bar the best. The raw oysters and charbroiled were delicious. We also ate a shrimp poboy which was amazing and seafood gumbo ....we were happy campers after the meal
Felix Olmo
Awesome experience. Waited for about 20 mins outsode as it was packed. Once we got a table, the waitress was very active and responsive. Really good customer service. Char-Grilled Oysters are kinda like the best I have tried. Jambalaya I mean cant go wrong. New Orleans Bread Pudding what a famous desert here! Excellent. You cant miss this place if you come to New Orleans!
Heather
The oysters were amazing. We were told to go by some locals, and glad we listened. Sat at the counter and had a fun time with the guys shucking oysters. Also had Rockefeller oysters and char-grilled oysters as well, both delicious. Will definitely go back before we leave. If looking for oysters.. this is the spot. Don't be fooled by the long line across street at Acme. You should for sure cross the street to Felix's.
Isonia
Not impressed!
Maybe my expectations were too high based on everyone sending us here, but naah.
I knew we were screwed when the Étouffée wasn't great! The Pimm's Cup wasn't great, I had to trade it for a beer... gosh no...
PS. Thanks for a tasty turtle soup!
Allison Beecher
Best oysters I've ever had. The char-grilled were amazing, but the plain raw with a squeeze of lemon were out-of-this-world!!! I'll never forget the taste of those oysters as long as I live. It was a plain to wait for a table in inclement weather, but totally worth it.
Jose Coreas
My friend and I went to Felix's twice during our weekend in NOLA. Our first visit was great, food was tasty and staff was very attentive. Unfortunately our second visit was not the case. Our waitress was not attentive, oysters were burned so they had to redo our order and we didn't get refills on our drinks (didn't get asked if we wanted refills). Also our oysters had shell pieces on every bite and we were there over 1.5 hours just for oysters and gumbo (way too long). May skip this location if ever in NOLA again..
Jennifer O
This place was perfect! Great atmosphere, the food was yummy
We had starters and drinks. The service was quick and friendly. The Hurricane was so amazing. Very strong!
Deidra B.
The 2 guys that was on the oyster side, was the 💣, we sat at the bar, was a little hiccup at 1st from another server bringing out cold food, but the guys that worked the oyster bar on Valentine's Day was the best, gave A one service, thanks guys you were the best....Sorry about not knowing their names, but they made our day, especially mines.....THANK YOU AND I APPRECIATE the whole experience especially being my first time there, will be back....
Danna Oronoz
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service! We had an awesome time. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Cajun dishes at affordable prices, coupled with the type of service that makes you want to keep coming back.

Oysters.....Oysters.....Oysters...…..It's all about the Oysters. Felix's for me is as good as it gets for Oyster dishes. Everything else on the menu is just OK with a superior version offered elsewhere. In other words it's not the place to go for the best Po-boy or the best seafood platter or even the best bowl of gumbo (although those are good). If it's oysters and oyster based dishes you're after this is the spot you wanna be in.
Matt Cady
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. The staff is really nice and interactive. The menu is incredible! For sure the best reds beans and rice in the area and the best oysters anywhere. We stopped by each day just to try something new and the oysters again. Everything is delicious and worth trying. Prices are reasonable and all the oysters are worth trying.
Clifford White
Charbroiled oysters, Bloody Mary and Hamburger Steak with grilled onions were fantastic! Sat at the bar/counter and got excellent service from Michelle. We will absolutely be back and be reccomending Felix's to anyone going to NO
Carly Rai
Felix restaurant was actually a surprise to me the oysters was amazing and well cooked. The pasta on the other hand wasn’t so good I had a few uncooked oysters and I had some that wasn’t too appealing but if I had to choose to pick this restaurant again I will give it a second shot.
Ian McLaughlin
The oysters were so fresh and delicious. The jambalaya was excellent. We sat at the counter and our guys shucking the oysters were really fun. Definitely getting the char grilled oysters again too!
Felix Guerrero
Ooooooh boy was this place nothing less then amazing! The short line was worth the wait; so don't let that defer you. Sat right at the bar, and right in front of us, they shucked our oysters; gifting us the most fresh oysters I have had yet. The staff was lively, and kept us very entertained, as we had our meal and a dozen oysters. Drinks were amazingly well prepared, and not on the expensive side. For a date or an amazing experience, I reccomend Felix's oyster bar whole heartedly!
T. Gafford
Our outstanding waitress Angela, was inviting, warm, & exceptionally friendly. Always smiling. Best mixed drinks on Bourbon Street. Their Hurricanes were second to none. We tried their shrimp po-boys, gumbo, alligator, turtle soup, & spicy gumbo; all were fantastic!
B M
Really busy place. Waited 40 minutes for our food, and they still forgot one, so we waited another 10 minutes to get our oyster after we finished all the plates. The grilled oyster is absolutely delicious!!!
Art Lopez
This is a MUST stop while in NOLA. The food is fresh, delicious, and the oysters are the best in New Orleans. Don’t waste your time at ACME (they are okay), instead stop by Felix. Seriously, the food is the best. Oh, the drinks are awesome too. I highly recommend sitting at the oyster bar where Mike, Jasmine and Bryan will ensure you are treated like a valued customer.
June 2021 Update: brought my dog to NOLA; Felix is a dog restaurant, and I was about to bring my dog inside. The staff were very friendly to my dog.
Terry Ow-Wing
Good eats. Ordered the jambalaya with pasta. It came with rice. The char grilled oysters were great.
Phil Bundy
If you are in the area its a must try. If you are trying oysters for the first time try there smoked one 😋
Carolina Castillo
Nice place to eat real quick and delicious food!!! They are super fast!! Specially during Mardi gras l qaa very surprised l was expecting more time to get my food because the place was full...our waitress RAMONA was on point!!! Super friendly and fast!!!
Shekinah Govero
Visited a week and a half ago. Didn't want to wait in lines with small children and we got to Felix's just in time! Loved everything we got. My sister in law got the shrimp and grits and it wasn't her favorite but it was still pretty good.
Fried catfish - fried shrimp - blackened gator - friend pickles - gumbo and the list goes on (big group :)) it was al so good!
Service was excellent and the stuff on the table in the silver canister is homemade horseradish sauce.
When we we're leaving they did have a line but not sure what the wait was.
Vivien
Based on what we had, we are happy with their fresh oyster’s quality and the oyster char-grilled was very flavorful. We tried the soup trio which has seafood (a bit slimy), turtle and oyster. It was not bad, but so so. So if you have no patience to wait for ACME and oyster is what you want, Felix’s is a good alternative.
Gregory “Saint”
Amazing food... the best place for me in French quarter... alligator bites, shrimp Caesar’s salad, etoufee, blackened oysters and the fish platter were divine... fair prices, huge portions and the service was amazing... Dale is such a nice guy and very helpful with everything... So sweet and funny guy... we went to several places for food and we tried meat and seafood platter but this place was great... totally enjoyed it... I will be back soon...
Miss Tiffany
This was an awesome experience we tried alligator nuggets they were really good taste like chicken and crab nails it was all delicious
Ty
Amazing oysters, excellent service, may look like "fine dinning" but they understand getting messy for the food!
Nothing bad on the menu, but their namesake is oysters and they do them right. Recommend them buttered and fried.
Larry H
The bartenders are great and fun. The chargrilled oysters are dam good! Make sure the shrimp cocktail has been deveined. Mine weren't! Pay attention to your food! The bbq shrimp are served with the head on. That's something you want to know before it arrives to your table. Overall a fun place to stop in gor a drink and an app. Lively atmosphere!
Fendy K
Been here twice. We wanted to go to ACME but the line was way too long, so decided to go to their Felix's (just opposite to ACME). There was a Saints game during that weekend, and I believe they won it. Did order a half-dozen grilled oysters and a platter menu for share. My very first visit was quite impressive both in terms of food and services. Sadly, I didn't enjoy the best services in my second visit (the server was grumpy when I told him they got my order wrong).
Pablo Tapia
Le-freaking-git. Legit!! This place has all the Cajun style with none of the fuss. Just chill and informal, but fast and accessible. Oysters made in various styles or simply raw on the shelf. Waitstaff and bartenders are friendly and helpful.
Schaccoa Hoover
This place is definitely a gem!! Since Acme was SUPER packed, we were able to slide in this restaurant and was seated immediately. Not only was there no wait on a late Friday night in the French Quarter but we waited on and served incredibly fast!! We ordered a cup of Seafood Gumbo, Crawfish Étouffée and a Half Order of Chargrilled Oysters. Everything was absolutely AMAZING! Seafood gumbo didn’t stand a chance. The étouffée sauce was delicious and plentiful and the parmesan and sauce on the oysters was everything I needed as a oyster newbie!
Fred Atkinson
Friendly staff! They were able to seat 12 of us at 8pm. Everyone was happy with their food and drinks.
Mike Gilbert
Service was fantastic atmosphere was great the price of a dozen oysters oysters was outrageous!! Don't think I can afford to come back 😢
Stephaine Hubbard
Best place for oysters. They have all the proper itens required to mix up your cocktail sauce. Substitutions won't do.
Siobhan Janiczek
My experience here was phenomenal! The staff is hilarious and makes you feel like family! The oysters are out of this world! I would recommend all of the oysters! Pictured here are the oysters on a half shelf and char-grilled oysters. But the buffalo and Rockefeller were also great!
JB Courvoisier
Back in NOLA for the FOOD and this time we hit Felix's! What a great place for some down home FRIED seafood. This is a down home joint that has a old school cafeteria feel that has three sections. So, your able to stretch out, have a cold one (VODOO LAGER) and bring on the eats. The staff is friendly, funny and extremely fast. We had 10 people in our party and slid the tables together and had a feast! Try the sampler that has three of NOLA's famous dishes: red beans and rice, jambalaya and etoufee. It is seriously good!
David Snyder
The food was great, the drinks were good, and the atmosphere was very New Orleans. A block off Bourbon, great place to lunch. I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the ettouffe (sp?). Both were great dishes. I think there best was the appetizer though. We got the blackened alligator. It was amazing. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
Nick Costanzo
Loved this place. Sat at the bar and had a great time talking to guys shucking the oysters. Highly recommend the grilled oysters and the red beans and rice with sausage. Skip the lines across the street and head straight to Felix.
Gerald Varnado
Some folks will tell you not to eat at restaurants that are directly on Bourbon. That's so not true. Especially when it comes to Felix:s Restaurant & Oyster Bar. They have fantastic food and amazing oysters. The also have a wonderful bar and great service. Try them.
Olga Gutierrez
Excellent service, the overall atmosphere of the place is very nice. Loved the food, the fried pickles are to die for, and the charbroiled oysters are awesome
Derrick Lovett
The food was really good. The serve was fast and friendly with regular checks on how we were doing. This a great option for oysters and seafood. I have made it a regular stop on my visits.
Natalia Sirju
Best oysters in town! The Oysters Rockefeller were great, but the Char Grilled were by far the best! They're flavorful and the bread and melted butter help sop up all the good juices. They also have a great selection of local favorites from Po'Boys to Gumbo. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A must try when in NOLA!
Ola Dziuba
The best oysters and the best atmosphere! Less stylish than Acme but more accessible and friendly. Staff was much more friendly. We tried chargrilled and raw oysters and both were great. We tried a shot with oyster inside, don’t try if you don’t have to :). There is a private party room upstairs with balcony and that was absolutely fantastic experience as well.
Angela Costa
One of NOLA's charming "hole-in-the-walls" that is a bit of a labyrinth once you get inside. It has 2 bars you can sit at or you can dine at a table in 1 of the 3 dining rooms. The menu is limited but the prices are good and the drinks are strong. If you are looking for some greasy food to soak up your day drinking, I highly recommend.
Alex Park
Overall fresh taste of oysters. Prep is in front of bars and guest can appreciate them. Inside of table setting is better than near the entrance door.
Sandra Morris
Bbq shrimp was fresh and hot. The char grilled oysters were disappointing. Service was good. Fried fish platter was good.
Dan Duncan
Chargrilled oysters are very good. Not quite as good as Acme across the street, but definitely decent. Turtle soup was amazing but my favorite dish was the blackened aligator! They were so good i ordered a second plate. Hands down the best served aligator i have ever had.
Ammar Lokhandwala
The fried alligator and shrimp are amazing! I've never had alligator before, but this place definitely has me looking forward to trying out some more. I also had a shrimp poboy, which was not bad but not impressive given the price.
Antwan Davis
And this MF rite here, this rite here was the best thing smoking u heard!! Definitely worth the experience and we shall be back!! We had the fish Po boy, grilled charcoal oysters, cup of gumbo and a cup of red beans and rice.....ah man, it's nite nite time now
Brian Schoedel
Tried almost all their Oysters which were fresh and amazing. Their Bloody Mary is the best in New Orleans, LA. Great service and highly recommend their location in the French Quarter. Will definitely return.
zzilneyugnq
Oysters were AMAZING!! Cooked and raw! Of course you gotta Order beer with them. I would totally come back here instead of wait in that crazy line for acme oyster. I’m not saying that acme oyster is bad at all. I am saying it’s as good.
Heaven Taylor-Wynn
I was here with a big group during Essence weekend. We had the sweetest servers they were so great! The restaurant is right in the middle of the French Quarter so you're either walking from your hotel to get here or getting dropped off a few blocks away and walking.
When we arrived there was a wait, but we were seated upstairs to accommodate the large party. There's a great view from up there of the happenings on the street. As far as food goes, get the charbroiled oysters. This place took my oyster virginity and I'm very happy about it. They were SO good. I had red beans and rice as well. It was OK. I don't need to eat them again, but they weren't bad.
Lovely experience. I will be back!
Somina Francillon
I think the food is okay, but not sure it's worth the long wait. My favorite thing about this location that's worth the return is the staff. The serving team was super attentive, made the best effort to get us seated, and served. However, I've had better food in New Orleans. If you must try it, I'd only recommend the oysters.
Clint Middleton
Loved the place. Oysters shucked right in front of you. Po boys are fantastic had blackened gator most tender ever had. Bloody Mary rocked.
April April
Love it was setting at the bar, and able to talk to the men who work at the counter open the Oyster 🦪 good vibe and nice people. …
Yvonne Wright
Delicious oyster bar with lots of other traditional NOLA foods. The drinks are poured super heavy, so watch out! They're good, but strong! There is almost always a line to get in (a good sign), but don't get discouraged. The line moves super fast. Worth the wait.
Kimberly Fludd
Worth the line. Get the turtle soup and the char boiled oysters. The staff was super friendly too!
Seth Evans
Great place to eat. I left my debit card with the receipt book there but they had it waiting on me at the bar when I returned.
Roy Dale Norman
If you love oysters on the half shell, this is the place to go. The guys shucking hooked me up. Best oysters ever!
Andres Garcia
Amazing oysters! Really recommend the the grilled ones. These were amazing. The service was pretty quick too and the staff was friendly.
Sheltina Jenkins
Love love loveeeeeeeeeee! No complaints here... everything about the restaurant was perfect! I had the red beans and rice, that was DELICIOUSS! omg please go of you are here in NOLA
Jason Bigler
This was our first stop for some of the char grilled oysters and it did not disappoint!
Of the two places we've had these at, I feel like the oysters here win out! Make sure you get an order of them if you stop in!
The staff was friendly and checked back frequently. We were in a side room so the atmosphere was a bit quieter and not as bustling as the main dining area.
Veronica Berton
Great food and service. The hostess was very informative about our wait time, the server was excellent never missed a thing! The food was great! Would definitely go back!
Scott Gilbert
Ate here on a Thursday, there was a line but it moved really fast.
Service was great, their Sazerac was really good.
Probably the best onion rings I've ever had, the oysters were HUGE and really good.
Had a crawfish po boy and the jambalaya and both were excellent. I hope I get another chance to eat here.
TuckerBud44
Excellent oysters. You have to be a bit lucky to avoid a long wait in line. They seem to be suffering from a lack of workers, service was a bit spotty. Oyster Po-Boys are great.
Regina Toomey
The oysters on the half shell were amazing, very fresh and yummy but I can't say the same about the shrimp cocktail. They were rubbery and nasty and the sauce was equally as bad but everything else was great.
Jasmine Kim
Such fresh oysters shucked at a moment's notice. We ordered 3 dozens of raw oysters and they were so clean and fresh without grains in then. Their cocktail sauce is quite good and unique. I think horseradish was mixed in it. Get there before 7pm or there is a long line.
lee apodaca
Stopped in here as a part of the French quarter food tour, small place with big food taste. Definitely recommend
Rebecca D
The staff is super friendly and seem to really enjoy their jobs. The place was packed when we got there so I was worried it would be a long wait but they seated us immediately and everyone seem to be getting in and out pretty quick. The food was delicious especially the oysters. Will definitely go back next time I’m in New Orleans
Jamieson Campbell
My wife and I just had dinner at Felix's. What an experience! When you walk in the door the exuberance of the staff and customers and the aroma of freshly shucked oysters assails your senses. Then the service overwhelms you. We opted for the fried shrimp platter. I have never eaten fried shrimp that were as tender and succulent as ours were. The roving waiter with the sample tray visited our table twice during our meal offering specialties of the house. It was impossible to decline. Put a visit to Felix's on your itinerary. Do it now.
Walt Albright
The Chargrilled Oysters are to die for.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and ready to serve these famous oysters.
Enjoyed a Louisiana Lemonade and a Deluxe Bloody Mary that comes with a HUGE shrimp and raw oyster. Yum.
Rose Perez
This place was CROWED and it's FOR A REASON! We tried the Fried Crawfish Tails and Bayou Platter Sample (Red Beans, Jambalaya & Etouffee). LOVED every bite! I enjoyed the option of sampling all this great food. I was hypnotically distracted by how TASTY their red beans were. EVERY.SINGLE.BITE. was a party on my tongue!! TRY their red beans!
Rosa Bestmann
Run, don’t walk! This is a must try. We come here every time we are in town - every day too. Pro tip - get a dozen on the half shell & a half chargrilled. The jambalaya is great too!
Nicole White
Food AWESOME Everytime ‼️ I drive all the way here from Alabama just for the broiled oysters 🤗🤗 …
Sean McAlister
I know some people say Acme has better oysters, but I'm not sure you can beat the combination of food and atmosphere at Felix. Just felt welcomed. Sat at the oyster bar and enjoyed the conversation and activity. It's the combination of it all that keeps us coming back.
Britt McCary
Although the lines to Acme across the street are longer Felix is our favorite oyster bar. The joy of watching your oysters being prepared is undescribable. Sipping on the worlds best Bloody Mary while waiting, watching wonderful too.
Dan Chiu
Another favorite of mine in Nola. The famed char grilled oysters is also excellently prepared at this spot. Expect a wait at peak times and also expect to be pleasantly surprised by the tasty oysters. The gumbo and soups were also very tasty. Would def recommend if you love oysters.
Bob George
The oysters here were incredible and fresh. The staff allowed us to play our bachelor party games and generally supported us having a great time. Highly recommended!
Tamyr Delgado
We went yesterday to eat there. The oysters are amazing. The crawfish ettouffe was really good and different from the ones I already tried. The jambalaya was not good at all. The frozen strawberry margarita was good but very pricey. I would recommend going here but not eat jambalaya.
M'lee Grandy
A favorite in New Orleans FOR SURE! Delicious gumbo, jambalaya, and oysters. Friendly staff, lively atmosphere, and not a long wait time. We were in a hurry for a tour, and we were in and out in 30 minutes.
Jody Staples
Loved it!! I had heard stories of people standing in line for an hour to eat oysters from Felix's and thought they must be crazy but after eating the shrimp poboy and grilled oysters, I might just be crazy enough to stand in line for an hour. 😄 Lucky for us we were there for lunch at 11am and were seated immediately. Our waitress was great. If I am ever in New Orleans again this will be my first stop.
VJ
Good food, reasonably priced but they definitely need to improve the ambience. It feels like cafeteria / diner now. We always go here for their char broiled oysters and last few times it wasn't great.
Garry Rodriguez
Good flavor.
Prices charged and prices marked in the menu don't align.
$5 difference on one item.
Not a MR (market rate) item.
Dessert item $1 difference.

No excuse. And DONT say IDA.
Chris Funderburg
I got nothin bad to say about this place. I ate my first oyster here, then followed it up with 6 of the chargrilled ones. Excellent seafood gumbo and the catfish was perfect.
It Hair
Every time I come to New Orleans I make it my business to come to Felix’s for the oysters. Great service and even better charbroiled oysters
Logemann Wissanee
This place is incredible for the oysters!! We stopped here at the first day when we visit New Orleans but they had a long line waiting at the front door, so we went to other place instead. Today before we went back to Nebraska we stop here at 11:30am and we got in!! I ate one and half dozen oysters(18 of them!!) with the seafood gumbo. I think I can swim back home now.
Cori Ershowsky
This place was awesome and should definitely be visited on your New Orleans trip! The food and especially the oysters were hands down some of the best and definitely original. The place is pretty big so we only waited about 5minutes as the line went pretty fast. I wanted to give this place a 5 stars but the experience was tainted because of the host who was extremely rude and brought down the energy. I would go back but couldn’t give it a perfect score because of the bad service that was the hostess. Our server was pretty awesome though so made up for it! Besides Acme this place is a top oyster spot! I’ll never get over the buffalo ones :)
Kelsi Contrades
They have the best char-grilled oysters and Shrimp Po-Boys
Gretchen Lebeda
We had just gotten in town and everyone was hungry for some oysters . This was the first place we walked by that didn’t have a line down the street. We sat at the oyster bar and I loved watching them shuck the oysters. The staff was friendly and entertaining. I don’t eat oysters so I can’t say how they tasted, but a few dozen were consumed by our party. I had the fish Po’ Boy. Everyone seemed satisfied with their meals and left with full belly’s !
Ahmed Alnajar
We basically got tired from waiting on the line for ACME and after reading Yelp's reviews we decided to cross the street, to q shorter line. The big difference is in the cheese on top of the charcoal oysters. We were not disappointed, but not fully satisfied. This place provides their own delicious oysters, but again, you won't get Acme's taste level. Better price though and nice service
Pam Kirby
Reccommend by a bartender from a local pub. Looking for seafood and we found it at Felix's! Lots of options, fresh seafood and great value. Shrimp was huge. Soft crab a plenty. The oyster shots were challanging to get down not because they were bad just unexpected. Lol Fun memory to have if this place and Nola. Highlight these chard oysters - THEY ARE SO GOOD YOU SHOULD WRITE HOME ABOUT THEM! I've been day dreaming about them ever since. The server was extremely pleasant, as was the manager and the bar. They all worked together as a team to ensure service expectations were met. This was a great meal and experience without the bells and whistles of a 'tourist trap'. It's just off Bourbon street so very easy to find and to access!
Paul Cannon
We stopped in because there was an insane wait for Acme Oyster House. This place was across the street and had no line. The raw oysters were out fast and tasty and the gumbo was very good as well. They brought out the fried alligator even faster than the raw oyster appetizer and it was tender without any fishy taste to it. All in all the food was great and the service was even better!
Mike Willis
I enjoyed our food, but holy buckets is this place loud! The noise level overpowered everything else. A bit chaotic. Plus almost an hour wait in line.
tarese lewis
The wait was a little faster than I had expected but still be prepared to wait. Food was delicious and you can try some of the delicacies here like turtle and alligator. I tried both and they were pretty good.
Quin Cato
The food was delicious. I have never had oysters before and they were great. Best dining experience.
Yolanda Reaves
It looks like a little hole.in the wall when u enter on Iberville instead of Bourbon...but it was awesome. Our waitress Linda had the greatest disposition and consiste tly checked on us. The one guy behind the bar was singing and telling jokes. It made us feel so at home. The Rockefeller and Bienville oysters were outstanding. I took gumbo back on the plane. The shrimp and alligator were great as well. Ill definitely stop there on every trip to NOLA.
Andrew Stiteler
Amazing food. The line may be long but worth the wait. Great service and knowledgeable staff. Can't find this sort of food in Washington state where I'm from. Loved my Soft-crab Po' Boy.
Jennifer Rao
AMAZING CHARGRILLED OYSTERS! Sit at counter; watch and slurp ‘em big and juicy Louisiana Oysters On The Half Shell! Very sweet is the whiskey and caramel sauce on their fabulous Bread Pudding! Worth waiting at their long lines! Great Time, Every Time!

So FRESH oysters! The fried crab finger make me AMAZING!!!
Trust me, the restaurant better than ACME and you DON'T have to wait in line!
Ashley Keoppel
Amazing. Gives you such a great taste of NOLA without the crazy long lines. Great service, friendly environment, delicious food!! Our server Asante was literally the greatest server I’ve ever had!

Recommended by family and Harrah's Hotel concierge! It's in the middle of everything in the French Quarter on Bourbon St! Service was excellent and the food was awesome! Oysters Rockefeller and Oyster Artichoke Soup was delicious!

The best oysters in the city. Felix's is a New Orleans mainstay. I see more people like up for Acme but have never been able to figure out why. Acme is great as well but it is decidedly not better than Felix's.
Don't just fill up with oysters, their etouffee, jambalaya, and gumbo are great as well.

We had a blast sitting at the raw bar, grooving to the a cappella crooning of the "Shucktations" (as the good-humored shuckers called themselves). The oysters were super fresh and super meaty -- a great value and a great time! So much fun!

Food and staff was amazing. 5/5 Overall, I didn't give it five stars because the actual inside was dated and old and smelled a little funky at the front of the restaraunt. Probably because the French Quarter itself smells like hot garbage. But the live band outside really created the dream New Orleans scenario for anyone visiting.

Lovely restaurant for an excellent meal. Service is kind and thoughtful.
During my visit I had their seafood taster with gumbo, etouffee, and red beans. It was a treat 👌🏻

There is usually a line to get in but it's well worth the wait.

1st the staff, made to feel so welcome , 2nd the food just amazing tastes , we had chargrilled oysters , chicken and fries , no complaintes from me at all and will go back ..

Good food and waitress was great. Went with the family and we had a bit of everything. Had alligator and turtle soup here for the first time and it was great!

Our first night here we were introduced to southern hospitality at the oyster bar by "Izzy " Isadoro . The next night there was no room at his bar or hospitality at the drink bar but he came to check on us. Now that is great service from a dedicated employee. The blackened gator and the char broiled oysters were my favorite.
Tim Johns
Quick service good food. Had root beer I'm the bottle which I like. Tried chargrilled oyster, fried aligator, and jambalaya for the first time and I was quite impressed. Staff was friendly and price was high but hey it's tourism in NO so you know what to expect. Would definitely stop here again if ever through the area down the road.

Delicious food and such wonderful service! Definitely made the NOLA experience that much more memorable.

Great place to enjoy on Bourbon Street!!! Great food, great service, great drinks, and cute bartender!! I am VERY Happy I stopped in! I'll be back next time through, For SURE!! If there's a line, it's worth it!

Quintessential Nola. Great food. Massive Gulf oysters. Everything we tried was good. Turtle soap was something new and very savory.

The food was amazing! I came to New Orleans for a business trip and my colleague and I wanted to try a local favorite. A friend suggested this place, so we gave it a try. I ordered the Bayou Platter that comes with Jambalaya, Etouffee, and Red Beans and Rice. The food came pretty quick. Each of them were cooked just right, but the Red Beans and Rice was my favorite. I had to make myself stop eating. My colleague ordered the seafood platter that comes with Fried Shrimp, Fried Oysters, Fried Catfish, and Hush Puppies served with french fries. It was soooo good. No diets allowed here for sure.
The tables and floors were clean and the server was very nice. The hostess was somewhat bitchy and seemed like she hated her job, but other than that a really good experience. I would definitely come here again.
Marc Santiago
No line. Quick service. And according to locals, they prefer this over Acme across the street. Had an order of a dozen oysters on the half shell which was great, and a side of turtle soup which was good too, but felt like it was more chowder than soup, but good non the less.

For all the times we were in NOLA, this was our first time here. Have to say the the grilled oysters were one of the best! Rachel, our server, was awesome!
Peter Fowler
Fabulous dining experience. Make sure to sit at the bar and ask to be seated where Chuck is serving the oysters. Best Oysters ever!
Missy Galang
can't go wrong with their crawfish and soft shell crabs. I didnt try any other crawfish spots for lack of time during our visit so I can't really compare it with other spotd. but my belly was happy with their food
Howard Davis
Great food great service 👍 I ordered oysters both times they we're great. My wife order the cheese burger and said it was the best she ever had. …

The char broiled oysters are life changing. Highly recommend coming here. Gumbo was okay everything else was amazing.
Tyler Macmillan
Unassuming venue with great service and food. Ate there twice on a recent visit to New Orleans - grilled shrimp and a soft shell crab po boy. Good stuff!
Bermesola Dyer
Food was so-so. I ordered a garden salad and a fried fish Poboy with Etoufee. I also got to try the grilled oysters. Wasn't impressed by the oysters or Etouffe. Oysters weren't grilled long enough and we're a bit gritty. The Poboy was really good though. The service was good but probably wouldn't go back.
Jordan Jeffreys
The char grill oysters were amazing!!! Really good flavoring and the actual oyster meat is bigger than other places I've been too. Definitely the top oyster bar in the French Quarter.
Nicole M
Food hits the soul, great environment from the staff. John made my dinner experience so much better. Highly recommend this to anyone in town.

Char grilled oysters with bread for dipping is our favorite thing to eat in New Orleans. Felix's is the place to get it. All the other food is good, too
Thank you Brittany for the excellent service.
Ash Yez
This place is wildly delicious, and their Bloody Mary is awesome! The entire staff is efficient to make the wait as short as possible. The char-grilled oysters and Bayou Platter both tasted amazing, as well.
Daniel Nicolas
The service was great and the food was okay (B-). In comparison, there are better oyster spots in New Orleans. Right in the middle of the French Quarter so the convenience is great. Great service and cool to see the oysters being prepped and served cold at the bar.
Henry Anderson
Fresh Oysters on The Half Shell and had The Shrimp and Grits. Waiter was Friendly and felt The New Orleans Vibes!
Chris J
Absolutely awesome Po'Boys! And the etouffee, red beans and rice and jambalaya are all so flavorful and exactly what hits the spot! The wait is worth the food.
Laura Ockel
I'd heard Felix's is the place for great oysters in New Orleans, but I had no idea oysters *could* be this good! I had them char-grilled and they were incredible! Richly flavored with butter and spices and served with hot bread for dipping. Amazing!
David M
Ate at Felix's twice during my stay in NOLA. I would suggest sitting at the oyster bar and eat oysters until your heart is content. Had the fried shrimp plate as well. The food is just done right! Do yourself a favor and stop in and enjoy some of the best food in the area.
Sam
Hidden gem of the French quarter. The grilled oysters are amazing, and the jambalaya was also delicious. Waited in line about 30 minutes, but it was worth it. This is a must try in nola.
John Tino
Great service, friendly staff. But you can find better places in the area. My jambalaya was decent. The drinks are generous.
