Reviews of Felipe's Mexican Taqueria

After visiting Jackson Square and roaming around Bourbon Street, we went there after a very tiresome day. We both ordered build you own bowl and got the food almost immediately. The food was fresh, hot and yummy. To me the food portion is a bit small. But it's okay compared to the price. The staffs are very helpful while taking the order. It's a nice spot to have lunch or dinner since almost all the other restaurants are too much busy and pricey.

We're from Phoenix and so we are a bit picky about our Mexican food. We stopped in to Felipe's for Tacos, burritos and chips & salsa.
We got the combo which includes chips with salsa, guac, and queso and it was fantastic!
My hubby got the carne tacos and loved them. I ordered a burrito with refried beans and pork and couldn't eat it. The tortilla was raw, and the juicy content of the burrito actually made the tortilla even worse - it became mushy and soggy. So I stuck with the chips. The salsa was delicious and just a bit spicy and the guacamole was fantastic and fresh.
We actually enjoyed the chips, salsa, guac and queso so much that we came back two days later just for them.

The Latin Subway Restaurant experience! Delicious tacos, taco salad, fixed your way! Fresh and scrumptious marinated meat and spicy salsas. Great service. Get the churros with cream!

Food excellent. Music a bit loud, so be mindful of that when going with friends. Salsa is ok. Chips are thick and crispy.
Ordering process is convenient to walk up and generally prepared in front of you.

Good food, easy atmosphere. The tamales were delicious! We ate it twice for our three day stay in Nola.

Not gonna lie, we devoured the food before I even thought to take a photo so most of my pictures are of the place. We went on Cinco de Mayo which they blocked off part of the side street for more outdoor space. The tamales where AMAZING! We also has a few different tacos rice and beans, all good and recommended. There was also a lot of ‘convo strikes back’ flyer and stickers around the restaurant to tie together Cinco de Mayo & May the 4th be with you/Star Wars, which I thought was cute. The staff all had T-shirt’s with Grogu holding a taco on them and they sold them at the bar too.

We shared a taco salad & burrito with margaritas to drink. The build your own meal offers plenty of options to create your personal ticket to flavour town. The atmosphere is casual & the counter service is prompt, but it can get busy if a group arrives all at once leading to a long line especially if people do not have quick meal-building skills. Portions & prices are reasonable.

The flautas were delicious and on point. I know they keep the carne on the steam table but I wish they would re-grill it cause it was cold. However the green salsa was on point. I would totally go back for the flautas alone.
