Reviews of Drago's Seafood Restaurant - Hilton New Orleans Riverside
Serene H.
I LOVE THE CHARCOAL OYSTERS. We ordered a lot because we wanted to try them all. We had gator tacos, seafood pasta, lobster Mac and cheese and gumbo. Lobster Mac and cheese was fantastic. The charcoal oysters smelled really fresh plus the charcoal smell that was a 10/10. The seafood pasta was above average. It was a safe choice. The gumbo was a disappointment tho, definitely don’t order gumbo here.

We were on our honeymoon and a friend suggested we try this place and get the char-grilled oysters. We did and they were absolutely amazing! We only ordered 6 and we regretted not getting more. We both got the surf and turf cooked medium. They were good but well done. Not a big deal but for the price we thought they would have been on point. We sat at the bar and the staff was amazing. We never waited long for anything and were served by the entire bar staff, great personalities! I had my go to cocktail, Basil Hayden Old Fashioned and my wife had a Greyhound. Mine was a little too sweet, may have been a house bitters or something though. They didn't have her favorite vodka, Tito's so she ordered it with Absolut. She wasn't a fan of it unfortunately. We will definitely be back for those oysters and great service.

I'm in town for the weekend for an event, and my friend and I ate at this restaurant because we we're staying at the Hilton Riverside. Let me tell you the guys working the grill were on point! Kevin our waiter took our order and he was super nice and precise! Now watching the guys working the grill was simply amazing! They have it down to a science! Jovan, Raymond and Winson was amazing! They commanded the grill! To watch them work, Is like watching a “well-oiled Machine” do what they do best! The food was incredible! Our Oyster Rockefeller was cooked to perfection! I enjoyed my Seafood pasta and my friend had the grilled shrimp pasta that she loved! We ended up getting a box to go, but I highly recommend this spot if you're in the hotel!

Nice atmosphere for a hotel restaurant. Lively and fairly loud. The centerpiece is the grill where they are charbroiling oysters. The aroma coming from the grill draws you in. You'll want to get an order of those oysters!
The charbroil oysters were the star of the show here. My baked fish dish was pretty tasty, but it felt like it was missing something.
The shrimp pasta was flavorful and a large portion. Well worth the price.
Service was good and attentive.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Oysters were killer! Fresh and hot! Almost UNREAL. oysters come straight from the grill to your table. You can see the greatest on the Grill from any spot in the house. LINE is worth the wait!
USE THE BREAD TO SOP up all the leftover butter goodness from The oyster 🦪 . 😋

If your dining in New Orleans, this is a wonderful stop for amazing quality food. We had many different dishes and all were prepared beautifully. Baked oysters are the best I've ever had. I had the gumbo and the ribeye steak as well. Lots of food split between my wife and I but let me tell you it was all delicious. They make some nice cocktails here as well. The atmosphere is great as well.

I love this place! The oysters are so bomb and the fried seafood is delicious! The bartender is so funny and he’s always so sweet! The location is nice because there’s so many places to walk to as well. Even before they opened they had a line of almost twenty people waiting to sit down and they got them all in extremely fast and with a smile as soon as they opened!

First place I ate while waiting for my hotel room to be ready for me. Very good food. My only complaints would be more seasoning on their fried catfish do their gator tacos to order ( gator me was tender and tasty, but just warm). Char grilled oysters were rocking. I actually got a wedge salad that was pretty darn good as well. Worth a trip.

I hope y’all like oysters!
One of my friends (a NOLA native) took me here. She was ranting and raving about the quality of food and them having some of the best oysters around.
Their claim to fame goes beyond just serving regular or raw oysters, their oysters are charbroiled! This was new for me, but when I say I’ve never had oysters this good?! Wow. 🤤🤤🤤
I ordered half a dozen to start as an appetizer and then a dozen to go — they’re THAT good.
I also had a drink and the shrimp creole pasta. I wasn’t crazy about either item, but overall the food is good. This location is near the convention center which was very convenient since I was in town for Essence Fest.
***So, next time you’re in NOLA, be sure to stop by here. But, go early and get your name on the list (they don’t do reservations). We had a 2hr + wait which made for less than enjoyable experience, initially. The hostess said it’d be 1.5hrs, so there were a lot of frustrated visitors.

This place was magnificent. The food was well prepared. Seafood was fresh, steak and veggies were well seasoned. Chargrilled oysters were the best I’ve ever had. The garlic and butter sauce for the oysters was not over bearing to the point you couldn’t taste the oyster. Everything was great. The wife and I will most certainly return. 🙌🏾

I don't usually like oysters but a friend urged me to try their charbroiled and they were great along with the garlic butter lapped up with fresh bread! Yummy. The Boudin stuffed shrimp was amazing as well. I asked the chef to spice it up and I wasn't disappointed. Definitely recommend especially if staying at the Hilton Riverside.

Visited on a Tuesday around noon - my husband wanted to try their grilled oysters. He started with a half dozen and ended up ordering another half dozen - he loved them! The chefs/grillers (King Kong and we forgot the other name) were SO friendly and even gave him some extras and gave us cheese bread (which was made in the same butter/cheese mixture as the oysters). Such a great experience and hope to be back before we head home!
E Sharp
Very tasty. Serivice was very good. They claim to have some spice on some of their items but i did not taste or feel any heat. I like spice so that was a little disappointing. But yet still the flavor was really good. And the charbroiled oysters were really good. No really slimy like raw ones.
Rashonda Harris
Shorty is the MAN on the grill. The way he perfects the char-broilled oysters is insane. They are beyond delicious and consistent in how he cooks them. We know because we had two orders. Anthony the manager was on point checking in to make sure we enjoyed our visit and Destiny took great care of us. I was here for a week and tried the oysters, the shrimp, the seafood pasta and the gator bites. I enjoyed them all!!

The charbroil oysters lived up to the hype. Great flavor. They took a while to come out, but the flavor made up for it. The boudin shrimp also didn’t disappoint. They were different, but still really good. As I never had them I didn’t really know what what to expect, but again, I was not disappointed.

This gets a hands-down five stars for the simple reason that it changed my views on oysters forever.
Afford this, I was not that big of a fan of oysters. They always tasted too slimy or fishy. The oysters that we got here at Drago‘s was incredible. We started with some raw wasters which I was most uneasy about. Let me tell you that these are the freshest oysters I’ve ever had, and there was no weird flavor to it. Paired with a cocktail sauce and lemon juice, it was amazing.
We then got the famous charbroiled oysters which are loaded with garlic butter and topped with lots of Parmesan and Romano cheese. This left me speechless. These were so tasty, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Salty cheese and the super garlicky butter paired well once broiled and crisped on an oyster.
They serve here are not hold him back. These are massive oysters. You definitely get your moneys worth here!
We then had both a lobster mac & cheese as well as a seafood pasta. The lobster mac & cheese could’ve used a little more lobster in it, but for being an appetizer, it was respectable. The seafood pasta was incredible. A creamy crabmeat filled sauce over angel hair pasta had the perfect balance of savory, salty, and sweet. The sautéed shrimp on top sent it over the edge with a nice bite to them.
This is a restaurant I would 100% visit all times. I may even visit it again while I am here in New Orleans!
If you are Hilton diamond member at the Hilton Riverside hotel, you do get a $15 food and beverage credit per day that can be used here.
Make sure you make reservations online because this place gets incredibly busy! Otherwise, come at off times such as 5 PM on a Tuesday like we did!

I unfortunately have a seafood allergy. It developed as an adult. I had seafood as a child. I miss it! Such a tease to come to New Orleans and not eat seafood. My waitress was super helpful and got me chicken pasta! It wasn't on the menu but offered it to me! She was so nice and gave us options to do while visiting this beautiful city. My boyfriend got shrimp pasta and cleaned the plate! The food was delicious! It's very pricey so I wouldn't make it my top choice. We got into town late and didn't have many options.
Matthew L
Alright, so you know you have to order the chargrilled oysters, but what else is good?
Lobster Mac - cheesy fantastic awesomeness, you want one I promise. It is rich so bring a buddy. Makes a good appetizer too.
Lobster Marcos is an excellent choice. Perfectly cooked lobster split for your convenience with a big portion of angel hair pasta. The pasta is coated in a delicious creme sauce with mushrooms and shrimp. The lobster is perfect and then you have a pile of awesome to fill up whatever room is left over after oysters and lobster. You leave fat and happy and maybe even keep some pasta for lunch the next day.
Gator bites or gator tacos are also a solid choice. Breading is good and not too thick, great flavor and good portions. This fills up the empty oyster area nicely and it's another shareable finger food. Good for large parties, dates, or like minded friends.
The seared tuna and avocado salad was fantastic. Tuna is high quality and the dressing is tasty without being overpowering. Plenty of avocado and a good mix of fresh lettuce and toppings. Would definitely order again.
Note to self: try the duck next time.

The Char Grilled Oysters are to die for! They were so delicious... The first time that is. We went back for a second time because of how amazing it was but we were blown back by how bad the second time we went was. The first time they were huge and cooked to perfection and the second time they were grilled to death without and parmesan spread across it. This place is hit or miss, but it was my favorite restaurant in NOLA for the first time. I think they may have a better chef in the morning? It was the dinner time oysters that were bad. It was the level of bad that I don't think I'd ever want to come back to lose my memories of the first time. I give the first experience 5 stars and the second experience a high 2 stars. 4 stars sounds about right :)
Mike Bednar
By far my favorite Charbroiled Oysters in NOLA. Food was awesome - service was great - make a reservation in advance or be prepared to wait a bit - but we'll worth the wait. Don't miss the Oysters if you're in town. Walk from Bourbon and Canal is not bad - after that meal tye walk will do you good.
Nik
Unsung secret in New Orleans. We stopped here because it wasn't as busy as the hot spots recommended to us but it was AMAZING. I had Boudin Stuffed Shrimp and honestly I think it's the best thing I've ever eaten in my life.
The char broiled oysters were also fantastic and everyone else at my table loved their dishes as well. I can't over state how much I enjoyed this meal, if you are in Nola, stop here.
Michael Dobbins
Drago’s was recommended by a lot of people for our first trip to New Orleans tonight. It didn’t disappoint. Great service and the food is excellent. The seafood pasta is amazing and definitely get the brownie dessert.
Audrey Christen
Someone recommended this place to us and it was worth it! The side meat crab was how its supposed to be done! It is expensive but it was worth it for me, It was so tasty and just what i was looking for. Its not like the other places that all food is jst covered in seasoning. The oysters was different too, but good diff. Everything that we got was good! I do suggest to have more not fried options and also an order or crab not just side.
Willie Porche
Really mediocre at best. The food came out quick, but not worth the price. The charbroil oysters were really good, but at $14 for 6 it isn't really worth it. Shrimp pasta still has the shells on the pasta, and it was watery. Needed salt and pepper.
Michelle Bruce
Excellent service! Clean establishment. Chargrilled oysters were the second best I've ever had (Acme Oyster House #1). Blackened alligator tacos need blackened a bit more and house salad us pretty lackluster. Did very well with spacing out patrons in restaurant. Would definitely again.
Nicole
The chargrilled oysters were really good! The All Surf No Turf not so good. The Mahi was very dry completely overcooked. The Mac & cheese was not cheesy. Fried shrimp was really good but tartar sauce was really sweet, more than likely store bought. The seafood pasta was my favorite and fried catfish was decent.
Vivianna Gomez Crowe
Wonderful and delicious! Best chargrilled oysters in town! They were delicious and fresh out of the kitchen, smothered in garlic butter and more. Chicken and sausage gumbo was good too. Good service with welcoming staff! Must try!

Date visited: June 8, 2022.
With a group of friends.
The best oysters 🦪 i ever had in my life. Period.
⭐️Drago’s Original Charbroiled Oyster is a must try. Best in town if probably best in New Orleans too.
⭐️ Raw Oysters 🦪 also fresh and succulent
⭐️ Lobster 🦞 also aren’t too bad either.
5 star for the taste. 4 for ambience.
Note that there is a long que during peak hours, so suggest make a reservation.

Been visiting for the past 6 years and I always make a point to visit Drago’s! Service is wonderful and staff is incredibly friendly. Seafood and steaks are to die for, but what really sets them apart is their charbroiled oysters. I always order a dozen and split some fresh oysters to kickstart the meal.
T Howard
Order the fire roasted oysters, you will want another order! All the food was amazing I am already wanting to go back!!! We had the Oysters, steak and lobster, gator bites, and gator tacos!

Came to the iconic home of The Charbroiled oysters and was not disappointed at all. Our waiter, Daaron, was so very helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our meal. We found the opening time online to say 11am but when we went, Feb 16, 2022, it actually opened at noon. We were not far from some shoppes so everything was perfectly fine.
Karen Milliner
Mixed review.
The grilled oysters were beyond fabulous!!
Unfortunately, our waiter was subpar. Our water glasses remained empty for extraordinarily long periods of time. He infrequently checked on us... and my steak was over cooked- asked for blue rare and it came medium. He never checked to see if it was correct.
Ordered brownie... would have loved a cup a coffee; but, waiter didn't start around long enough for that request.

All you need from here are the Charbroiled Oysters and you’ll become a fan. Melt in your mouth, flavorful, and meaty. We ate most of our food before I thought to take pictures. Portions size were great; more than enough to share and/or take home. We had the seafood pasta and chicken and andouille sausage gumbo. The food was perfectly seasoned and amazing. Our hostess sat us quickly (no wait time for party of three right around dinner time), and our server was fantastic.
Scipio Cowan
Amazing customer service! I ordered the catfish platter it came out a little cold but it was during peak hours and without question they replaced my order hot and fresh! My wife was happy! Happy wife and happy life! I don’t remember the name of the manager but she is amazing and deserves a raise and her staff!

I made a point to go here on my trip because a coworker told me I would REALLY enjoy it. She & I are going to have to discuss the meaning of "really" because I don't think we have the same understanding of the word. When we got there, it was a 30 minute wait....even with lots of empty tables. When we finally sat down, it was 10 minutes before anyone came over to even say "I'll be right with you" then almost another 10 minutes before our food order was taken. I ordered the charbroiled oysters and they are DEFINITELY delicious!!!!!! I also ordered the red beans & rice and my brother ordered the steak and fries and both meals were great.

I wasn’t particularly impressed with this place ! Meals were just okay (you might have a different experience if you order something else )
Reservations : First off, they were fully booked 3 weeks in advance and it was difficult to get a reservation. Although it closes at 10pm, if you go there at 7/8pm you might not get a seat. There’s quite a number of people waiting to to seated and im there’s no guarantee (at the time I went, wait was 1hr)
Seating: This restaurant has got a huge space, and lots of seating options that were open when I dined in.
Wait: while seated, wait was 10-15mins, wasn’t bad at all.
Special thank you: to the young man at the door who was kind enough to get me a seats within a short notice. I very much appreciate the kindness!

OMG!!! This place was amazing. First you'll have to find parking since it's located downtown inside a hotel. I parked in the structure right next door, cost me just $7. Walked right over, once inside the restaurant is right at the door so you don't have to wander around. Pretty organized at the desk, we made reservations which seemed to be irrelevant. They took ppl as they arrived regardless of reservation time. Proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test result is required to enter. Once inside the atmosphere was mixed, some ppl were dressed up others had tshirts and flip flops. Come as you choose I guess. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Made menu suggestions, refilled water before you could even think about it needing a refill. I ended up ordering the original charbroiled oysters and the steak and lobster.
The charbroiled oysters were absolutely amazing! Came out hot, super tasty, no complaints whatsoever. The charbroiled flavor definitely added to the Parmesan and butter combo. I'd absolutely order these again. Perfectly crafted!!!
The steak and lobster was pretty good as well. They came with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I ordered my steak medium but it arrived appearing well done, but whatever. I ate it anyway and wasn't disappointed. The steak was well seasoned, no sauce necessary. The lobster was tasty as well, not a struggle to get out the shell. Butter provided and was really good. Broccoli wasn't anything fancy, wasn't seasoned but was fresh. Mashed potatoes wasn't anything fancy as well. Gravy dressed it.
Overall I'd definitely go again. The charbroiled oysters definitely stole the entire show. I'd go again solely for those alone and to maybe try some of their drinks. Beautiful restaurant and nice ambiance! Well done!
Shauntrice Renee
I couldn’t get enough of this restaurant oysters, every night of my stay this restaurant lines was so long and now I know why. Food was just amazing besides the oysters I had the surf and turf (which I didn’t get a picture of) the steak you can cut with a Butter knife (yummy). Drinks were good and strong.
brittany pernell
Absolutely delicious. Was able to accommodate us without a reservation though I highly reccomend getting one or your wait could be long. Was worth it though. Best chargrilled oysters I had in town.
Melissa Chen
Wowww the charboiled oysters were the best ones we had in new orleans. They were so fresh flavourful and served hot fresh off the grill.
Multiple people told us to come here and this place did not disappoint with the charboiled oysters.
We also ordered the fish and lobster Mac and cheese. Both were decent but not exceptional. I would definitely come back again to have more oysters.
Miracle Reason
Came on a Thursday evening. Packed which was a good sign. Wait wasn't long. Good customer service, handled the crowd well- like a "well oiled machine" as my friend said.
Out of Lobster mac, sadly. 3 of us had seafood pasta and were disappointed. The sauce was flat, it said cream sauce and tasted just like heated cream. Lacked flavor. Also the seafood to pasta ratio was small. Good portion of pasta. Counted 6 shrimp and few pieces of crab.. the 4th person had boudin stuffed shrimp- "it was delicious", commented corn was just okay.
Gator bites and char grilled oysters for the table were delicious.
Drinks for the table: the hurricane, category 5 and sazerac and A tea. All good. Sazerac was a small portion, did not fill the short glass.
Overall, about 3.5. But gave a 3 since it wasn't an option and it Wasnt strong enough for a 4.
Forgot to take all the pictures, apologies!
Jon Junkin
The chargrilled oysters – of course! Would like to see more evidence of “real cheese” rather than grated Parmesan powder, but they are always quite good and the oysters are generally a uniformly decent size. Ask for replacement if they are not!
They also have a very nice $24 breakfast buffet. Plus the straightforward lunch and dinner menu (both are the same) should have something for everyone. The catfish and the fried shrimp were equally well-prepared and delicious.
My lobster Marco was flavorful but left me a little disappointed by the chewy nature of “boiled” lobster. Should’ve asked for the chargrilled lobster instead!
Lori Broughton
Great place for lunch! If you get there as they open there's no wait. Fried catfish was cooked to perfection! The fried gator was also cooked desirably! Staff was great!
Lindsey Goetz
I think I ate myself silly here. Just get the charbroiled oysters. Just do it. My husband isn't a fan of oysters and he loved them. They are amazing. The BBQ shrimp is also pictured and was very good.
Kisha Robinson
Drago's is known for their charbroiled oysters and let me tell you they did not disappoint. These oysters melt in your mouth. I called my niece and told her I was bringing her back from NY with me next time to just come here to eat oysters all day. The bone-in rib eye steak is so dang good too. The stuffed shrimp and pasta was amazing. Overall we had a great experience. In the beginning there was a little hiccup with our table, but otherwise a great dining experience. The manager met with us on our way out and she was delightful to meet. For the life of me I can't remember our waiters name (Morris) but he gave awesome suggestions on food selection and was just an overall nice guy. Can't wait to go back.
Thomas Knight
Wifey and I in New Orleans, Excellent place on the waterfront, Food was great at a reasonable price. Oh My Goodness, the home made bread pudding was Divine and it rejuvenated you back to your childhood days to grand Moms kitchen. We really enjoyed ourselves. Oh yeah and all the other food was great as well. Sorry for going out on a tantrum about the bread pudding. But once you have it you'll understand.
Thomas Smith
This is not a typical hotel restaurant this is a five-star experience. The rules are big fresh out on the property, the staff is absolutely amazing especially the bartenders. Best bread pudding I’ve ever had in my life, and the cheesecake that my brother had was amazing as well. You have to try the fried oysters there’s nothing like them. I took my leftover steak home, my wife cut it up in a little small pieces and gave it to my dogs they were extremely happy, lol it was just a great experience definitely give it a try if you’re in New Orleans you can’t go wrong
Emmanuel Lawrence
Drago’s is always worth the visit and the Hilton riverside didn’t disappoint. You come for the chargrilled oysters and you stay for the rest of the menu! Every item on the menu is a hit! Keep in mind, the menu is limited due to COVID and differs slightly than other locations.
Rachael Mann
Had dinner here two out of three nights during my visit. The food is fantastic and excellent service. They are known for their chargrilled oysters, which were good, but the baked fish was even better in my opinion.
Chef Antwan
This was my first time in New Orleans and I love oysters! Someone recommended this place.Daaron,my server, very knowledgeable, attentive and so much more.I had the char grill oysters, delicious, the fried gator tail was amazing, the bourbon bread pudding was decent,Alot of liquor. The chicken gumbo was very salty but he took it off my bill.I can't wait to try this place again and recommend Daaron as your server
Courtney K
This place was recommended to us, but was overhyped for what it offers. Basically the same menu as every other seafood place in the area (and there’s at least 50 of them within a 15 minute walk). Menu is also a bit on the smaller side. Prices are fine, food was good. Service was great. We came around 4:00pm when there was no wait- I would have been super disappointed if we waited any length of time.
Valerie Sholtes
Drago's has the most amazing oysters and the service fantastic as always!!! We sat at the oyster bar this time and we're so glad we did! The entire staff was awesome especially Kendric Grave's (one of the Oyster Chef's). This is definitely one of the highlights of our visits when we come to town!
PhazerOnest
I would give them 4.5 if I could.. but you can't so 5 it is. Firstly, the charbroiled oysters... damn. Those are soo good!
I got the Mac daddy Trio, which is a filet, hard a lobster, crawfish Mac and cheese, and broccoli. Steak was tender and cooked medium as I had asked. Great. The lobster was lobster, came with a little thing of butter. The broccoli was you basic steamed broccoli. Would have been better with some lemon pepper or something, but it's broccoli.
Where i was disappointed was the crayfish Mac and cheese, just Mac would have been a more appropriate name. As there was no sauce of any kind really, not much in the way of cheese or crayfish. Just seemed very uninspired and sad which is unfortunate because I have had it elsewhere where it was amazing.
Service was great, atmosphere was also great and the oysters definitely shined. Would happily go back.
Nicole Moore
I had the greatest dining experience this evening. My food was amazing! The chargrilled oysters were perfect! The gumbo was excellent! My ribeye was the perfect temperature! To top it off Juan was the best server. His personality is so wonderful and made the experience even better.
Luis Gonzalez
Drago's has the best Charbroiled Oysters in New Orleans. The service was great and fast!
J P
Good food and great atmosphere ! Very popular spot for smoked oysters.
I had the catfish, fries, onion rings, and salad.
Chicken tenders for my little one.
Michael Mancebo
Absolutely 🔥. Great place and delicious food. If near by stop in. Mrs had the charbroiled oysters and they were best she's ever had. Glen the bartender was excellent.
Susan Peele
Everyone knows they have the best charbroiled Oysters but be prepared to pay for them! It's worth it though especially when you can get easy parking or walk over from the convention center.
Asia Farmer Moore
I tried charbroiled oysters for the very first time in my life ever here, and wow oh so delicious! Paul at the bar was a gem and highly recommended them. I will only eat oysters here period. Dragos is the best!
Phil Cross
The original home of the chargrilled oyster and I couldn't resist trying. I'm not a big fan of most oyster dishes, but having seen other restaurants in the area advertise theirs, my curiosity got the best of me.
You can get just a sampler of three oysters if you, like me, aren't brave enough to commit to the full half dozen.
We also found you can order off menu for the kids.
The food was fantastic and the perfect apex to our tour of New Orleans dining.
adjoa jones
Thoroughly enjoyed the Oysters... the service was great.... would work on the lobster as 4 people ordered and it was a bit overcooked...but staff were responsive.
Cristian Fuentes
Fantastic, amazing food. The originals of charred broiled oysters. Our waiter David was incredible as well. You will not be disappointed
Colter Williams
Dragos, Dragos, Dragos, is all I hear about as I take Lyfts around New Orleans. Is this place really that special? Well yes it is. You see, at Dragos they sell Charbroiled Oysters, they also are the originator of this style. After a few days of being told I should try them, I finally caved and headed to Dragos. I will warn you they do not take reservations and are first come first serve. They will always be busy, so just make sure to arrive at a decent time as the later the night gets you will be looking at 1-2 hour waits.
I started by ordered a dozen oysters. The oysters arrived and smelled heavenly! The smell alone is worth going here. They grill the oysters with butter, garlic, pepper, and parmesean. They are served with bread that can be used to dip in the empty shells or bowl to soak up all the garlic parm goodness. These oysters are 10/10. We loved them so much that we ordered a second dozen. If you come to New Orleans, do yourself a favor and try these!
We also ordered Boudin balls, but I'll be upfront and say they are good but not worth it. $12 and some change for only 3.
Come for the Oysters and you will be happy! - Colter W
Veronica Matthews
I typically visit every time I'm in NOLA. It was just ok this time around. The Oysters are loaded with parmesean cheese, a bit too much for my liking.
Xingyang Cai
Great seafood here! Highly recommend the lobster Marco, gator taco and the best chargrilled oyster!

We came here specifically for the chargrilled oysters. This location is located in the Hilton. We sat at the bar - ordered a French 75 and some oysters. Bartender didn't add much
to the experience, but was nice enough. My French 75 was warm and very sweet. Since we were only staying for a drink I didn't say anything. We ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters and maaaaaan did they disappoint. They were over cooked, salty and had lots of shell in them. Below average to average
experience all around.

Drago’s Lobster Marco is pictured with crab meat added on, Charbroiled Oysters & a side salad. Glenn was our amazing server as we sat at the bar. The line was SO SO long, so please try walking around to the bar for immediate seating. Don’t go to the right as that’s a totally DIFFERENT restaurant claiming to sell Drago’s oysters too (wasn’t trying to see if they were when the Drago’s bar had 2 seats. Walk allllll the way around to the back & check the menu they hand you to make sure it says “Drago’s Hilton Riverside”). Our food came fast & the oysters were still searing hot on the plate! 🦪

Update had to come again!!!
On my 2nd dozen.
A must try.
They are so good and done soooo right!
If you get a chance sit at the bar in front of the grille.

Been to multiple restaurants in New Orleans for Chargrilled Oysters and hands down Drago's was the best
The sauce that puddles on the plate is amazing to dip bread into, so good that I even asked the bartender if patrons ever ask for the sauce to go.. 🙊😂
I'd recommend sitting at the bar for much quicker seating. This location was busy both nights and sometimes reservations have to be made a week ahead
Definitely swinging by here if I'm in NOLA again! 👌

Of course the Charbroiled oysters are world class, and were once again. However, this time I tried the Drago's bone-in ribeye, and it was very good as well. Food was quick, and amazing as always.
sylvia wilkinson
This was the main reason for my trip. Wanted, waited, and anticipated this experience for such a long time and it faired just on the okay side. Not sure of what happened or what could have been the problem, maybe I don't like oysters like I think I do, so it's going to take another visit to figure out, maybe expect too much

One of the best experiences I've had with a restaurant in a long time. Food was beyond excellent. Service was superb from the check I. Staff to the servers! Definitely recommend. Jonathan is an excellent server. Best anniversary dinner thus far.
Cindy Ibarra
The charbroiled oysters were phenomenal. We also had the fried shrimp basket and it was very good as well. A local recommended this place and I’m so thankful he did!
Samantha Ruiz
The charbroiled oysters are amazing! Do yourself a favor and order 2 dozen! Chad offered great customer service at the bar. I Highly recommend!
Floyd Anderson
Delicious! The bbq shrimp is super savory, however this is not your daddy’s bbq sauce. This sauce has a deep flavor from the Worcestershire sauce. The accompanying flat bread was nicely charred. Don’t shy away from here because it’s in a hotel. Everything is right in this restaurant which has an appropriate NO flavor.

You know when a local swears by an establishment, I feel like I can trust their opinion...but nope they got us with this one. I was disappointed in almost everything I ate and drank. The Chargrilled Oysters (shame on you all isn't this supposed to be your specialty?), my drink NOPE (can you say juice on top of juice with tons of ice) and the seafood pasta (crickets) not a bit of crab present. I had to apologize to my stomach as we both were disappointed from the top of the experience to the bottom. $60 later per person...man while writing this I debated removing another star I got mad all over again. There are other places to try and that are worth the wait.

Amazing service!!!! Lauren was fantastic and super helpful! We loved the charbroiled Oysters! Wow! A must have. Thank you for an awesome dinner !
Missy Richest
I had a blast here. The atmosphere was really fancy and natural! The food didn’t take too long and the service was good! I had to ask for more beverage. It was quite busy so I’m giving them a break lol. I don’t quite remember what we ordered but here are some pictures! I do know we ordered oysters. I believe the pasta was jambalaya and I had fried seafood.
Bridger LaBau
Decent food, waitress was very nice and helpful. Ordered half a dozen oysters, seafood pasta, and the filet mignon. Charbroiled Oysters were good and seafood pasta was good, nothing too fancy. Filet mignon was ordered by my girlfriend at a medium well. It came out rare and we sent it back to cook some more. After being cooked again it came out medium rare (see picture, I enjoyed it but she did not…especially not for an almost 40 dollar steak). Yes I know it’s a filet cooked to a medium well, but that’s what she likes. After this we asked for it to be cooked some more and they brought out a whole other plate and new steak, potatoes, and broccoli. This was great, however this time is was completely well done with no pink. Melissa the manager handled it all appropriately and I appreciate her professionalism. She wiped $22 dollars off the almost $40 dollar steak. Overall the service was good and the food was good, but not exactly how we ordered and pretty expensive for what we got.
Robert Patterson
Not a seafood person but was visiting from out of town so when in Rome... With that being said the Charboiled Oysters were amazing! I for sure will be back to dine in whenever I visit N.O.
DS, D.
Great customer service, friendly staff, and the food was nice! There was an hour wait but we sat at the other restaurant bar until our name/number was called. Kevin was superb! Hurricane drink was decent, nothing too special in my opinion..I’m not a big drinker though! The price of the food matched the quality so we were satisfied with that as well. I had the lobster, pasta, and shrimp and it was fulfilling! My friend had the redfish with extremely delicious potatoes! The vibe was right and we enjoyed every minute of it!!
Emily Mu
Came here for the charbroiled oysters I remembered loving over a decade ago. The oysters were good but everything else we tried was just alright.
Jaime I Sanchez
Charbroiled oysters were on point, service was abit slow, food came in before we got our drinks. They wont let you do separate tickets if there is a group of people..
Jillian Fox
Make sure to make a reservation either online or in person to enjoy everything this restaurant has to offer. Food and drinks are well priced doe the portion sizes and don't skip out on dessert!
August Moon
The hospitality of the server could be better, but the food was decent. They serve large fried shrimp but tartar sauce is not homemade. A tad disappointing.
María José de la Peña Sánchez
The hostess is really rude.
However our waitress was nice and the gator tacos, raw and charbroiled oysters 🦪 were INCREDIBLE, that’s the only thing that I recommend having here …
Alice Edwards
Superb food. Charbroiled oysters were a highlight of our trip. Excellent mahi mahi tacos but super spicy!
Tasha Morris
The charbroiled oysters live up to the hype. Delicious! They were accommodating and patient with our large group.
Tratra C
Grilled oyster is the BEST and the waitress serve the extra bread for the sauce. The rest of the food are just okay, pretty much you can expect it. However, the gumbo is way too salty.
Natalia Ramos
Chargrilled Oysters! Keep them coming please!! And the Seafood Gumbo was delicious, I regret ordering just a cup. Next time I’ll order the Bowl!
JT_Hou
My wife and I got dinner here, and it was incredible. The famous Chargrilled Oysters did not disappoint (although I still prefer Felix in the Quarter). Everything was great though, and I am sure I will be back at some point.
Sandy Jimerson
Best Oysters I have EVER had! I went back the next day for more sooooo GOOD!
Matt Zuchowski
Charbroiled oysters were outstanding! These will always remind me of New Orleans's cuisine! Chicken and seafood Gumbos were also very good.
Dee Proctor
When this place was recommended I really didn't expect much. Boy was I wrong!!!! The seafood pasta was amazing!!!!! The alligator bites were spectacular. Very clean, beautiful ambiance. However customer service is part of the experience. It wasn't terrible customer service but worth mentioning. They said there were no tables and ask if we would sit at the bar. I respectfully declined and they said they didn't know how long it would be before a table could be CLEANED. Meanwhile I'm looking around and see tons of empty tables. Also I asked one of the host if they had a wifi password. Good response was I don't know and he walked away. He didn't say I will check or I will get your waitress. Also it would be nice if the waiters didn't talk over the food especially if they are not wearing mask. Just a few things to consider. Otherwise great food
Khoala Tran
Great place for a light snack and drinks. Was here for Mardi Gras so this could be abnormal but the wait time was insane. Chargrilled oysters were great but nothing proprietary about them to justify the wait. Just got apps and drinks
Pamela Carter
The food and service was wonderful! We sat at the bar that only offered a partial menu, however Richard our awesome bartender told us of another bar in the restaurant that offered a full menu minus the 45 minute wait to get your name on the list!
We got to watch as the guys prepared the chargrilled oysters! Way to go guys! Our waitress Ellie(hope I got it right) was pleasant and her recommendations were on point! Love the seafood angel hair pasta with shrimp and crab! Would highly recommend if you are in NOLA
Monica Moreno
The oysters were so good! The twin filets were cooked to perfection! You have to try the lobster mac and cheese!
Mayo Tracy
Best charbroiled oysters in New Orleans and the Creole Shrimp Pasta was a 10. I highly recommend.
Valerie
The gator tacos were really good and the chargrilled oysters were delicious....you must try them!
Julia Charles
The food was delicious. Try the Charbroil Oyster and the Lobster Mac & Cheese.
Tiffany Murphy
I made a reservation here, as my husband and I made plans to visit New Orleans for the weekend of our anniversary. Since we were already staying at the hotel, we decided to try the restaurant as well, because we had never been before. We love trying new things. So after a bit of online research, we became even more intrigued by some of the items on the menu. We ate dinner here on the night of our anniversary, and the food was absolutely delicious! Our server, Morris, was amazing as well. He was very hospitable, and catered to us effortlessly!!
Lulu Lynn
Huge place! Recommend the grilled oysters!! Food is good.
Ana Cisneros
The oysters are delicious at this place. The food is a bit pricey however, it is tasteful. We had the lobster Mac and cheese and it hardly had any lobsters.
Dustin Robinson
Great food and service! Oysters and steak were amazing. Wait staff was prompt, courteous, and overall seemed to enjoy their job. I will say they do charge 18% gratuity, which I don't like when places do that, she would've made more had they not charged it, but understand why they do. Overall, highly recommend.
Veronica A
While staying at the Hilton Riverside in NOLA I was delighted to try Drago's. First of all, as a hotel guest you cannot call your to-go order in on the phone, you have to go to the bar to order takeout. (That's ridiculous) Second of all, the online menu is a couple of years outdated (per bar staff) ~ (that's misleading and not okay) I ordered the shrimp pasta which turned out to be in my opinion not worth the inflated price. The shrimp was excellent, but the angel hair pasta is not at all tasteful. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff was great.
Rainbow (Rain)
The lobster mac & cheese was very sparing with the lobster. But oasis was delicious if you’re going to come here I recommend ordering those the cup of soup Square very small for the prices that they were but the service is great. Morris was excellent
c dickson
AMAZING! The best restaurant we tried during our 4 day stay here! We sat at the oyster bar and the main guy cracking the oysters was so nice! Our waitress was cool to. Now to the food 10/10!!! Charred oysters tasted so good and flavorful. I will definitely be back and tell everyone about this place!
Jerry Morales
Awesome and definitely a must do if your in new Orleans. The charbroiled oysters are amazing. They'll mashed the most finicky eaters like oysters. The final was delicious. Recommend some bread on the side to help soak up the juices. We had the seafood pasta dish. Creamy and very tasty.
Kaiden Whiting
The server named “Gage” was very respectful the food came out good and if they’re were any problems the kitchen staff would fix it immediately with no extra charge 10/10 would eat again
Kim Lopez
The. Best. Charbroiled. Oysters. Amazing! Great waitstaff. Gals at the hostess desk were a bit cold but everyone else was awesome. Bartender was super nice (older gentleman). I went three times in less than a week!
Kristen Henshaw
We came here on a recommendation from a friend, especially for the Charbroiled Oysters.....and we were REWARDED! This place was fantastic, and the Charbroiled Oysters were melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Even our "picky eaters" loved them! Our server, Morris, was great also!
Tammy Ton
My husband and I visited Dragos today for lunch. Firstly, the food was delicious - we got the charbroiled oysters and the BBQ shrimp. Our server was great also. However there was one worker who obviously discriminated against us. We were sat at the bar table where the oysters were charbroiled. While we waited for our food, this worker stood right in front of us preparing and shucking the oysters and never once acknowledged or greeted us. Half way through our meal another couple was sat beside us and this worker acknowledged them and continually asked them how their meal was unprompted. He later shucked two fresh oysters and gave this couple oysters on the house all the while still never looking at us. On two occasions he shucked oysters, bent down below the bench and ate them when the other workers weren’t around. The other couple ordered the same amount of food as us, didn’t initiate conversation with him and were also taking pictures of the oysters being cooked. The only difference was that they were Caucasian and we were an Asian couple. His name tag was covered however I did get a picture of him. This unwarranted treatment was so disappointing especially as we had an otherwise great meal and server.
KH
Great service and yummy food! I went twice during my 4 days in New Orleans. I had the raw and charbroiled oysters, the Seafood Pasta, and the Lobster Marco. When we went on Saturday there was an hour and a half wait, so I would make a reservation, if you plan on going, just to be safe.
Erica Nicole
We had a girl's lunch at this place. Everything started well until one person in our party was served A hot dish and was not warned and sustained burns to her fingers. Management came out immediately, were concerned, and assisted. Our bill was reduced. Now for the food! The oysters were great! I had the chargrilled. I wasn't very hungry.
Chadetta Blankenship
Very pricey lunch menu. I had an appetizer for $25.00. It was delicious. The hostess and host seated our party quickly. The restaurant and bar area were both very clean and well laid out. The bartender did not seem busy but he was seriously making his work area spotless. Our waiter came over immediately and asked if we needed beverages and/or appetizers. After ordering, he disappeared, but returned with our order, so quickly, I thought I was going to get whiplash. (That is a joke.) He was very prompt, efficient, thorough and helpful. Once we had eaten, he offered to allow us each to pay our checks individually. He did not HAVE to do that because the menu clearly stated only one check per 4 people. We had more than 4 people. Kudos to the chefs who prepared our meals and appetizers. The shrimp were so fresh they still had the sweet taste. No processing or freezing as it is shrimp season in Louisiana. Most of our party also ordered the oysters. I don't eat oysters on a shell, but they said they were delicious. And I believe them. A perfect ending to a great visit to New Orleans latest attraction.
Brittney Adventure's
I had their clams and OMG! First time ever and they were flamed grilled with a garlic buttery sauce just drowned in them it was perfect for a first time oyster eater.
Astin Hayes
One of the best places in town for the original charbroiled oysters. Ask for Britney as your server and she'll make sure to walk you through how to eat them the proper NOLA way with Crystal's hot sauce!
Sidney Beeman
These oysters were subpar, there is definitely better places to get oysters. The bread was really good! Great place to get drinks.
Paul Friedley
Drago’s has always been hot or miss depending on what time you arrive, and if they are fully staffed. The reason we go there is for the char grilled oysters, my wife loves them. They took the shrimp po-boy off the menu, which was my favorites for lunch. Overall the food is good, but unfortunately the poor service really needs to be addressed!
The last time we were there our waitress was great, but unfortunately she had no assistance so all the tables got backed up and everyone was waiting on their checks or their food, drinks or anything else they needed.
The time before I had a woman who worked there come up to me and accuse me of not paying for a drink I had purchased at the bar, very strange! I showed her the receipt and she didn’t even apologize!!
The time before we had a waitress that was extremely rude and after talking to the manager she was even more rude.
Get to work on the service and then you will get your 5 stars!!!
Leonard Johnson-Biddle
If you're not coming here for the charbroiled oysters, you're seriously missing out. We also had the alligator tacos, which were better than expected. We also had the house and Caesar salads, and two French 75s (one cognac, one gin) and everything was great. Next time in town I'll probably swing by specifically to do the oysters and drinks again, as you can have them at the bar, as well as sitting for dinner.
Theda Jenkins
Customer service was not the very best. There was several events being hosted in the venue. I assume they were overwhelmed at the host desk. However; we still should be greeted w/ hospitality. The hostess was short and tempered and rude. We finally got a table for our large party. The waitrr was fantastic!! The food took about 30mins to come out. Our waiter was very transparent throughout and refreshed beverages etc. Once the food came out, it was great. I.ordered the Catfish tenders, onion rings, mash potatoes and a house salad. I ate every bit. Delicious! Cooked to perfection! The tenders were a large portion, I shared some. Overall the food experience was delightful. Large partying must only pay via 2 cards or cash. It wasn't difficult. Fairly simple cashing out process. Gratuity is INCLUDED in large parties as well.
Apologies no pics. I ate everything so fast! 😋
Fran Driver
Amazing raw oysters! Probably the best I have had in the US. Busy restaurant, but excellent service. I would love to go back!!! Most everything we got was amazing. There were four of us that all orderee different entrees, but gumbo was bland.
Grace Su Ming
The seafood was delicious and so fresh tasting. Our waiter, Freddie was great and suggested the delicious beer. They do not have any vegetarian options and when I asked if they could do something only option was pasta without meat.
Amanda Beam
Those charbroiled oysters…delicious!! Those the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, the food makes up for it. The only complaint we had at our table was concerning the crawfish etouffee-it was incredibly salty. Everything else-catfish, lobster Mac & cheese, gator tacos got two thumbs up from everyone!
Tatrika Graphenreed
The food was good, not great. The service was the same. A bit overpriced. We ordered steak and lobster tail. This meal actually came with half a lobster tail and we had to pay extra for the other half. I was pretty surprised that they actually sold a half of something that's already small. When we asked why only half the lobster tail was sold, the waiter told us to call 1-800-DRAGOS. I know he meant it as a joke buuuutttt. Overall it was an OK experience but we expected better food and better service for a bill over $200.
Kiesha L
The CHARBROILED oysters are EVERYTHING they are cracked up to be. They exceeded our expectations but be prepared to wait unless you make a reservation way in advance! The service was great....coming back tomorrow just for the Oysters!
Wade Bricknell
I enjoyed it, we had great company with us.
I had the red beans and rice, I'd say the sausage was a little over cooked and more crunchy, could have had more rice in the dish, but otherwise was tasty.
Never felt rushed to get out or anything.
Russell Lavender
Nice atmosphere within the hotel. Okay, staff with good speed of service.
Netanya Roden
The oysters had shells pieces in them that you had to pick out.
I had the Shrimp Alfredo and it was good! And someone in my party had steak that was also very good.
They didn't accept reservations when we went and so we have 30+ minute wait on a weekday (monday) evening around 7:30pm.
The server we had was not very attentive to us. I don't know if it's because I'm from the Midwest amd expect different but it felt like we had to keep asking for things and as we asked our server was walking away from us... so it just didn't feel very attentive.
M H
The charbroiled oysters are incredible, like nothing I've tried before.
Katrina Hatter
Each waiter needs to inform customers before taking orders that a table will receive only (1) ticket. Then after that they can only have 4 ways of payment per ticket. This needs to be changed because with a large party or even a business dinner this is very difficult. Overall the meal was great considering.
Melissa Richardson
Food is five stars but drinks left a lot to be desired. That being said the food was amazing. Service was just ok.
Shar' Del
Amazing Food and everyone is so nice , our waiter was super sweet and top notch.
Didn't get one thing off the menu that wasn't amazing. Highly recommend
John Parker
Awesome excellent food! Waitress was fast and friendly. No kids menu but we figured it out. A couple dozen charbroiled oysters to start made for an excellent dinner. Alligator bites were a great kids meal and were a hit! Shrimp and grits was good as was the short ribs, shrimp po-boy and seafood pasta. An hour wait to get in (we were there same time as a conference) but we'll worth the wait!
adriel halliburton
The charbroiled oysters were just as amazing as everyone says. Steak was succulent. The spicy shrimp were were crispy with a good bite to em. Drago's is a winner
LaShona Boose
The service was great. The place was very busy but wait time wasn't bad at all. The waitress was very attentive considering how busy they were. The food was delicious. Atmosphere was upbeat and fun. I will definetly dine here ever time I visit New Orleans.
Devin Doherty
Everytime I go to NOLA I have to eat here at least once. I come to sit at the oyster bar and gorge on the oysters Rockefeller and raw oysters. My husband and I have so much fun watching the cooks shuck oysters and flame the oysters Rockefeller. It's not cheap but it's always worth it!
Tywana
The food here was amazing!!!! Oysters, Lobster Mac and Cheese and Sea Food Pasta were all top notch. Service was flawless as Juan took VERY good care of us! Will certainly be back
Grant Chun
The charbroiled oysters, for all the hype I've seen on YouTube, didn't really wow me. It definitely tasted delicious no doubt, but to be frank it just felt like I was eating nuggets of butter with little to no taste of the oysters themselves. But it's still a solid place to try.
Mark Long
Had brunch for two and it was delicious. The waitress allowed us to split a larger meal and we ordered two additional salads. The waitress was very accommodating. Great atmosphere and lots of space between tables.
Ced Delaney
I had given up on Drago's for their oysters but had the pleasure of staying at the hotel and decided so give them another chance. Let me say I ate there 5 our of the 7 days o was there. The guys that cooked them recognized me after the 3rd day and they made sure I got them right off the fire. Give them another chance if you gave up on them like me.
Marvin Edmond
The atmosphere was cool. The char grilled oysters were pretty good. I had the catfish and gator bites and both were lacking seasonings, so very disappointed in that. Overall, I'd give the experience a C-
Wonderfully Made
This place need better servers. The people that run the food from the kitchen to the table are more pleasant and helpful than actual severs. The food is very salty. They are known for their oysters and those are great!!!
B
Use to be my absolute favorite restaurant in NOLA. We drive over an hour to get there. Stayed at the Hilton this past weekend and was looking forward to some great food. Unfortunately again Dragos fell flat. The redfish was COLD. even our waitress commented the plate was actually cold also. Even the spinach dip was cold. Highly disappointed.
Debbie Middleton
We had the All Surf, No Turf dinner and the fried shrimp dinner The fried shrimp were really good, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Unfortunately, the mahi mahi was way overcooked and over seasoned. The lobster mac and cheese was just ok with no lobster to be seen. Augustine was very attentive and provided great service.
Camdon Cobb
I remember I went here in 2018. The food was great, but the highlight of my visit was getting to meet Franco Harris. He was there for an Italian American conference and I had the privilege of getting to see him. Rest in peace.
TRYN
Now those Oysters are so dam good. It was my first time trying them. I was so disappointed with the fried fish. Batter to thick and it wasn't seasoned. We had 3 orders at our table and everyone was disappointed. My ticket was $88 for 2 fish dinners and 1/2 dz.oysters.
Yi Jia Frye
Good for oysters, avoid everything else in the menu. We ordered shrimp etoufee which was so salty that we sent it back. The manager offered a replacement meal, so we got the boudin stuffed shrimp. It was only slightly more edible thanks to the boudin but the shrimp was extremely salty and over seasoned. Sad to see the decline in quality over the years. Their charbroiled oysters used to be the testiest in New Orleans.
Cortney Deal
Over priced for flavorless and bland entrees. We'd come back for the charbroiled oysters and fudge brownie Sunday. The petite steak that was presented with the steak and lobster was decent but not a good cut of meat, and the lobster was slightly overcooked and flavorless. The broccoli was also completely bland and no amount of salt or pepper could help it- and I typically enjoy tasting my vegetables. My friend ordered the lobster Marco and it too was somewhat bland, where's the cajun seasoning? It seemed like our entrees could have been slightly better if the dashed just a little bit of cajun seasoning on everything. Overall, we'd absolutely visit again opting for a bar seat to order the charbroiled oysters, beers and a bloody mary ( I also ordered a swamp water but I wasn't a fan, my husband did enjoy it). Service was great and every employee we came across was helpful and friendly.
M J
Went for for my bday and it was a truly wonderful dinner I had the ribeye steak and my wife had the Filet mignon & Lobster with some wine.... the ended taking a stroll down Bourbon Street 🎺🎉 …
Rakhesh Raveendran
Our 5th visit.... the quality of good was excellent. Our favorite was charbroiled oysters and the taste was excellent and same during every visit....love this place
Anahi
The charbroiled oysters are delicious! It was my first time visiting New Orleans and trying all the different food options. All the other dishes we ordered were also good, but the charbroiled oysters were definitely my favorite.
Ellie Hoffman
Best meal we had in town and we tried a ton of different restaurants. Don’t sleep on Drago’s. Amazing oysters, phenomenal seafood pasta, and for dessert the brownie à la mode was a great finish to a perfect meal.
Laura Jacobs
Two words….charbroiled oysters 🤤🤤🤤 I ate them too quickly to take a photo. We also got a half dozen for the top farmed oysters and they are 10000% worth the extra buck or two. Super meaty and huge!
ASHMONEYMUSIC
This was our first stop on our girls trip in NOLA. NO REGRETS! They set the standard high. My friends said Dragos has THE BEST oysters out of every place they tried. I don't eat seafood and our server KING KHONG noticed and brought me bread that taste sooo good. Love this place and would HIGHLY recommend.
Kim
Charboiled oysters. CHARBOILED OYSTERS! You won't regret it.
p seay
We were seated and it took a bit to get anyone to serve us water and take our order. I don’t remember the guys name but when he realized no one had taken care of us he said no worries I’ll handle you myself and he did an amazing job. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and it was to be a very special night for us. We had chargrilled oysters which was an excellent choice. Spouse had the shrimp and catfish. Shrimp was good and catfish ok. It was a nice dinner but not knocking the door down for a repeat.
Liam Tay Kearney
Ordered the dozen charbroiled oysters - delicious and unique interplay of smoke, char and butter.
Kent
If you are looking for the best charbroiled oysters look no further. Don't waste your time getting a half dozen, get a dozen. Also try the seafood pasta. Wow in fact get some for taking back to room at the very least. You'll thank me later. The servers are pros and the service has been fast both visits. If there's a line it's worth the wait.
Carolyn Adams
The Oysters are the only Oysters in the world that I eat. They are delicious! And they are served quickly - still bubbling when they reach your table. Service is great.
Tracy Foreman
My hubby could not believe I was taking him to a hotel to eat oysters but this place was highly recommended and did not disappoint.
I was told to order the char grilled oysters. I’m not a fan of oysters but I relentlessly tried these. Holy yum! I wanted a dozen all to myself for dinner. I can’t even describe the taste but these were amazing!! Even if you don’t like oysters, just try one. You won’t be disappointed!
Of course we had to order the lobster too! Everything was amazing. I highly recommend Drago’s if you are visiting NOLA!
We will be back here for sure on our next trip!
alec baechle
Pretty good food, very crowded. The hostess sent us to the bar to get a drink while we waited for a table and then threatened to give our table away when it became available but couldn't get our bar tab to pay. Very disorganized service.
Chad H (xlr231)
Doesn't have that many non-seafood options. Got the ribeye steak, wasn't bad, but not sure it was actually a ribeye. Was nothing like any other i've ever had. Was much thicker and kind of bland. Potatoes that came with it were good though.
Brittnee Bynum
Went here for the first time & ohhhh EMMM GEEEEE ! I had the charbroiled oysters for the first time and they were so goodTTTT !! Our waitress was very nice & informative about the menu . The seafood gumbo was jumping too !! I’ll definitely be back !!
Vanessa Mallard
I'm not a huge oyster eater because of the texture. I can only eat them if the texture is masked, like an Oyster Rockefeller or Oyster Casino. A good friend from New Orleans suggested that I try the charbroiled oysters at Drago's. Honestly, thus restaurant came highly recommended from several people. As a foodie, I was excited. Our waitress, Valan, was amazing. She was VERY knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. I really appreciated her. I opted to share the oysters with a friend, in case I didn't like them. My gosh, I can't believe how delicious the oysters are. I can't even describe how delicious that bite of joy was. I'm not sure how the cooking technique changes the texture, but they were perfect. Every one was satisfied with their appetizers, drinks and entrees. The only reason that I didn't give this place five stars is because we had a party of 8 people and we weren't told that they could only split the check by four. Everyone except for 2 people in our party did not have any cash. Our waitress, Valan stated that the hostess was supposed to inform us and that it's also listed in the menu. I think it should be a mandatory briefing by the waitress when there is a large party. It's a horrible feeling to have sat and ate and then be presented with something like this. We did what we had to do and all was well. But I think it's a common courtesy to ensure patrons in large parties know this upfront.
Greg Williams
I love to get my charbroiled oysters from him. Other places may offer them, but there is something to that butter and garlic sauce for dipping your bread in. Because of my large breakfast, I went with a smaller portion lunch. The gumbo was excellent. The salad was a little below my expectations. It jumbo lump grab meat on a Caesar type salad. Nothing too exciting but I thought there might be a little something more to it.
Abdul Williams
They have the second best dish in New Orleans as far as I'm concerned charbroiled oysters. Next to gumbo, this is my favorite thing to eat in New Orleans. And Dragos has the best.
Todd Jones
Charbroiled oysters were fantastic as well as everything else we ordered. Server was great too. Nice place

What an authentic and amazing New Orleans experience!!! My friend is a local and recommended this place. I definitely recommend starting with the crab dip and the grilled house oysters. Absolutely delicious. The lobster Marco is what I had as my main entree and it was delicious. I will most definitely return here on my next visit to New Orleans. It’s located in a cool location near River Walk . They had a full bar... I had the dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The service was fantastic as well. Great overall atmosphere and vibe.
Anna DW
The food is amazing! We ordered the chargrilled oysters(a must have) they were great!!! The alligator tacos were delish!! And the lobster mac and cheese (not pictured) was the BEST i ever had in my life!! The catfish melted in my mouth too. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will say make a reservation. The wait was 45 to an hr but we found a spot at the bar. This place is a must eat at location!
Falita Friday
This place is absolutely amazing! The chargrilled oysters are a little bit of heaven in your mouth! I am not only going back but also ordering chargrilled oysters via their delivery service!
Aliaksandra H.
I have had my first ever lobster here, and I loved it! - despite not being a big fan of seafood in general. Staff was friendly, food delicious, but a bit pricey.
Ranford Roper Jr
Man this is a great place to eat and chill. I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews and I don’t know why some issues seem like minor stuff. Most people that go here are visitors. The place is always jumping and if you want the warm good home service this might not be for you. Come for the char oysters, blackened lobster pasta and a drink and enjoy your stay NOLA. They not hurting with these bad reviews. We have been here multiple times and never have a problem.
Joaquin Villamar
This returned to Drago’s after 10 years and the quality and flavor are the same! I have been craving the oysters for 10 years and they didn’t not disappoint! My partner does. It like oysters but she changed her mind after trying these charbroiled oysters. They are a must! Crawfish was also very good! Highly recommend this place if you are in town!

This restaurant is huge. The service is amazing. The food is outstanding. A friend recommended the charbroiled oysters and O.M.G. this place has the best from all the others I tried. Wow. They were so good. The shrimp de lis was very good. As well as the lobster mac n cheese. The lobster stuffed with the shrimp pasta was amazing. The drinks were delicious. I would bet that everything on there is delicious. This NYC girl will be back to NOLA.
Colleen Martindale
I sat at the Oyster bar, and the gentleman working there were so friendly, giving me bonus oysters and great recommendations for main dishes. I'll definitely be back!
Stefan Wiebe
Average food, train-station environment, poor service. Love the oysters, but they are as good (and more expensive) than anywhere in New Orleans. Seriously don’t understand the hype?!
Henry Faulkner
Although I tried to get in dragos a gazillion times and failed. I will not put that into this review for the simple fact that obviously many many people want to be there and it's no fault of this. I was able to get in the night of the boo parade and they let us keep a daiquiris surprisingly and got it straight to the bar and we got to put in 30 minutes from the customer service the food and atmosphere was amazing.

I LOVE Drago's! I first went there for diner last year during my visit for Mardi Gras season last year. I was so sick that year, but the food was still so good. I couldn't wait to go back this year when my tastebuds were working right. And I was not disappointed.
I ordered the same dish I did last time. I could tell by the texture a year ago the food was really good and could actually slightly taste the corn dish. It pained me to not be able to fully taste such good food. The dish was Drago's Mixed Grill: Half of a Maine lobster, a petit filet, and blackened shrimp with a light Cajun cream sauce, served with corn maque choux and potatoes (from the menu).
My waiter was Dipen, and he was wonderful. He was so polite and attentive. Made sure I had everything I needed. The service was perfect.
The filet was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, just as I'd requested. The lobster was delicious and delicate. Loved the potatoes and corn--the corn had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It was just a beautiful meal that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The steak was like butter. I knew I'd missed out due to my illness the year before but didn't realize how much! It was one of the most delectable dinners I had in NOLA. Like I always say, it's hard to get a bad meal in New Orleans.
The dining room is comfortable and had a nice atmosphere. For once, I wasn't asked to sit at the bar because I was dining alone, and I REALLY appreciated that. I had my own little cushy booth. I didn't think the price was bad either. It was pretty much what I'd expect to pay for lobster and steak.
This restaurant is in a hotel but Drago's is away from the lobby enough to seem like a separate entity. If you want an upscale dinner that tastes amazing, maybe want to treat yourself a bit, make sure you eat here. I certainly will be returning next year when I visit for Mardi Gras 2021.
I want to try the chargrilled oysters next time. I hate to admit I've never eaten oysters and don't think I could do the raw ones, but I need to step off the ledge next year and try the chargrilled ones.
Cecily McGuckin
When in NOLA You Obviously Must Try the Fire Roasted Oysters...Its like the Southern Benihana!!! 😂🔥😎
Very Big...Plump...and Juicy... Doused in Garlic Butter while on the Grill to Create a Fire Explosion then Topped with Bread Crumbs and Served with Lots of Extra Sauce and Loaves of Bread for Dipping... You'll Want to Mop Up Every Last Drop!!!
Grilled Shrimp Salad and Alligator Tacos were as Expected... 🍤🐊🌮🥗
Hurricanes Could have had More Alcohol but that Might just be Me 🍹😂🍹
Our Service was Excellent 👍👍👍
Definitely Recommend Dragos for the Oysters!!! 😎
Deneesha Williams
Food ok, oysters are sooo good.
Tiffany M
The oysters were amazing here. I got the charbroiled and they were cooked perfectly with butter and cheese. My boyfriend got the raw oysters and he said they were some of the best oysters hes ever had.
Mike Gilbert
Sitting at the oyster bar was fantastic other than the mail server I had was super slow and always had to remind him for another drink... Other than that the place was fantastic
Chris Berthelot
Char broiled oysters were excellent. The gator bites and crawfish etouffee were ok. 45 minute wait.
Richard Huang
OK restaurant inside the Hilton… gotta try the house baked oysters!
Jonathan Reichel
The charbroiled Oysters!!! Come here for this. They are amazing. Worth traveling to Louisiana just to get.
miro
Very good restaurant. A bit too crowded but worthwhile. Huge and delicious dessert.
Michelle Nguyen
We were in Louisiana and was recommended this was the place to go for Charbroiled oysters. So we went. The restaurant is part of the Hilton hotel. OMG this is the best Charbroiled oysters we have ever had!!!!! It was drenched in butter and garlic. It was so delicious we ordered 3 plates😂😂. We didn’t eat anything else on the menu. I will definitely be back if I’m in Louisiana.
Isidro Perez
So started with the alligator bites that tasted delicious... Had a taste of fresh chicken... Followed it up with shrimp pasta plate. That had a very good taste... The sauce was creamy and was a great proportion for the plate. Normally I don't eat heavy pasta food but this was very delicious.
Dana G
I have been here several times and always had the lobster Mac and cheese. Which is generally amazing. However, this time there were only 3-4 pieces of lobster in the dish. Very disappointing
Mara Ellis
Chargrilled oysters the best! Service was a little slow/ forgettable. Gumbo was just ok. Definitely would go back for the oysters.
Jason Rehor
Drago’s was one of my favorite food places I went to in New Orleans! The char broiled oysters are a must have if you go here. The alligator bites and the lobster Mac and cheese were also very good! I highly recommend coming here if you are in New Orleans.
blu Gutierrez
Great food and service. Juan was our server and he did an amazing job! The charbroil oysters were amazing.
Kerry Geraldson
Everyone was very friendly. Randy checked on me often and was very pleasant and polite. The food and drinks are phenomenal! The charbroiled oysters are a MUST! I don't remember the names of the salad and drink I had, but they were very good too. I just might be back for some more charbroiled oysters before I leave New Orleans!!
Eugene McCown
The reception was very friendly. Seafood gumbo was ok. The corn gumbo was tasty. Gator bites were good. Oyster Voisin was really good. Tuna Salad was tasty. Catfish was ok. Overall, the place was nice, but I’ve had better.
Darren Guillory
The charbroiled oysters are the bomb. I loved the crawfish etouffee. A bit noisy but it is in a hotel with a bar that was watching world cup games.
Le Va
Helloooo. I went here today after trying to make a reservation through opentable, which was impossible no matter what time I picked.
Sat at the bar. Both bartender were very friendly especially the woman.
I ordered a dozen of the charbroiled oysters. Delicious but to much butter, oil and I couldnt figure what else.
Also had lobster mac n cheese. Almost same thing. Too much grease. A bit spicy too...
I drank nola ipa. Local and hoppy.
See yall on my next trip!!!
Lisha's Life
Our friend introduced us to this place,at first I thought it was a buffet lol. But the food was delicious, great atmosphere and great service,I can't remember our waiters name but he was very attentive to us.
M L
Go straight for open seats at the bar — better yet, aim for the oyster bar. Then order at least a dozen of their original charbroiled oysters and live your best life. Great service even at the bar! Thanks for making sure I ordered the good stuff, Mike!
Jylissa Griffin
My friends and I were extremely impressed with the food, the service and our server Valen. She by far, made our trip memorable. She made great recommendations and she knew the menu well. She was very attentive and you could tell that she enjoys what she does. The entire staff there seemed to be present, attentive and working hard to accommodate the Essence Festival crowd. We were seated expeditiously and our food came out on time and piping hot. I'd like to thank Valen again for such an amazing experience and I hope to see you next year same time! You guys truly have a gem in NOLA. Best oysters and lobster I've ever tasted! Male this your first and last stop when you're visiting New Orleans. Tell them I sent you!
Candace Murphy
Delicious food. Everything we got was amazing.
Gerald Varnado
Fabulous food and atmosphere. Drago's has the original charbroiled Oysters not to mention an abundance of other remarkable appitizers and main course dishes. Check them out at the Hilton Riverside at the end of Canal across from Harrah's.
Anthony Brown
I had the pleasure of dining at Drago's in the Hilton...they have an excellent atmosphere plenty of space including a bar, great food and customer service.
If you want to taste of some really good New Orleans seafood I would definitely recommend them for a romantic night out or a special night out with the family.
The stuffed lobster (I had my stuffing on the side) and the charbroiled oysters are some of the best I've ever had!! It can get a little pricey... but you definitely get what you pay for.
In- SC
Wow. Wow, wow . If you like oysters you must try this restaurant, chargrilled in the shell goodness. The lobster (stuffed with shrimp and angel hair pasta and tangy sauce). The slow cooked pork rib was excellent, corn chowder soup, bbq shrimp appetizer. And of course dessert. The staff was 1st class.
The bar service great. Pleasant seating with a few TVs. You can even order the oyster kit on line and have it delivered to your house to prepare it yourself.
jhgk ng
Can not believe Drago's only got 3.9, this place has the best charbroiled oysters and fresh oysters ever! We have tried 3 places for oysters, Drago is the best I think. The charbroiled oysters has the smoked aroma from charbroil and thus the garlic butter cheese was fully brought out by it. Their raw oyster is so fresh and sweet. The service was super good, suggestion on wine and beer is really professional. Love this place, will only go there next time if we craves oysters!
Dubois Tara
In town from Seattle. We are Creole and wanted some authentic food and grilled oysters. The men cooking the food made it a fabulous experience. They treated us like royalty. Watch them work the grill was an honor. Must eat here when in New Orleans! Located in the Hilton hotel by the water! I will fly back here just to eat here again!
J WillHold
Yes. Amazing. Great food. I had the shrimp stuffed boudin. Drinks were good. Everyone loved their famous oysters. One of my absolute New Orleans favorite.
Tera Houston
Tatiana is a wonderful waitress. Sweet, attentive and prompt.
The charbroiled oysters NEVER fail your taste buds. The lunch special Stuffed Crabmeat Augrautin was a bit disappointing. The gumbo was very delicious as was the corn and crab bisque.
The bloody Mary was also tasty and perfectly blended with spices and garnishments. Till next time ... bon a’petite
Leia Ja'zelle
Drago is located inside the Hilton with access from the street and the hotel. When we arrived the one hostess asked how many in our party and another seated us without ever speaking a word to us not even to inform us who our server was. The server though nice seemed extremely scattered. Food was okay but the much raved about charbroiled oysters fell flat. It was soggy and the oysters were small. Other than that everything else was good.
Danielena Viera
A must to visit when you’re in #NOLA. The food is delicious, the seafood pasta is sublime, the charbroiled oyster will definitely change what you don’t like about oysters (I used to be one of those) , and the shrimp and grits #OMG is to die for. The service is at the level of a famous and very turístico restaurant like this one. Don miss the opportunity to visit it... although the prices are hit high... is worth it. Share with a special one
Mark Garrison
The other reviews should include that these are some of the BEST charbroiled oysters in New Orleans! My fiance's lobster mac and cheese was pretty good too. I ordered 20 oysters and was definitely happy with my decision. Service and atmosphere was pretty good, but the food was on point.
Warren champ
Just maybe the best Char-broiled Oysters I've EVER had. I'm usually an Oyster Rockefeller guy. I ask for it everywhere I go, including my first visit to Drago's. But my friends and our server Jessica, highly recommend them. So in return, I highly recommend trying the Char+broiled Oysters.
This location has a cut off time for oysters, so make sure you are there at least one hour before closing. The atmosphere is outstanding. Nested in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, the views are plentiful with an open air feel and very spacious. I recommend grabbing a table near the bar, sit back and enjoy the experience.
Cyle Lublin
We had a dozen raw and charbroiled oysters along with some oyster tacos. All of it was simply okay. There’s definitely better places for oysters in New Orleans! Slightly disappointed with all the local hype about this place.
Tamara Rodney
Went here at the recommendation of both our Uber drivers. Loved the Char-broiled Oysters and everything was pretty good. Our server was really helpful and attentive. Would definitely visit them again when in "Nawlins."
Jennifer Klinger
Our bartender, Paul, was knowledgeable and entertaining. He recommend the oysters chargrilled and they were fabulous.
A S
great food and oysters. very pricey though the atmosphere and service are fantastic. their famous char broiled oysters are about $21 for a dozen 😣 …
Charles Shapero
The oysters at this place are second-to-none! They are the single best food I've ever eaten in my life and I hate raw oysters! I would so highly recommend this place it's a must do!
David Sanders
We had a 1st rate food and service here. The charbroiled oysters were the best we had during our stay.
Thomas Barrett
Lovely food and good value for money. First time I tried charbroiled oyster and I can believe the claim these are the best in New Orleans they were so tasty. Had several people recommend Drago's specifically for the oyster, it seemed silly not to try them. Restaurant atmosphere is very standard. The staff are very helpful and can give great recommendations. The Pasta Jambalaya is lovely and a very large portion size. Value for money is pretty good here. Didn't look at the alcohol selection so can't comment. Would highly recommend.
Drazan m
Charbroiled oysters!! Best thing I ever ate! Creole shrimp and lobster Marco were good too, but those oysters are something else. We went back during our short stay again, which never happens btw, just to indulge on the charbroiled oysters.
roxxyandkracker
We saw this place on the food network yrs ago. We had to hit it up knowing we would be in NOLA. It was absolutly incredible! Highly recommend!!
Shepherd Mims
Great atmosphere! The waiter was extremely knowledgeable. The grilled Oysters were as delicious as advertised.
Lockett Nelson
The chargrilled oysters are no joke! So delicious. Niki took great care of us as our server and overall it was a great experience.
Mandy Romo
OMG, get the charbroiled oysters. Legit the most amazing thing I've ever had... I was also feeling a lighter side with salad and went with the seared Tuna & Avocado. SO yummy! Definitely coming back!
Chef Jason Gronlund
A visit to the city and not stopping at Drago's is a mortal sin when in the Big Easy. these oysters being grilled fresh to order and loaded with a special cheese blend and plenty of garlic butter.
Jay Bonk
We have been coming here for years when vacationing. However, this was the first time we've been able to go since moving here. The charbroiled oysters are as good as Irembered them to be.
Doreen Fukushima
We tried the charbroiled oysters the first night we got into New Orleans. During the rest of our stay we never found the same thing anywhere else as good as it was at Drago's. My partner never eats oysters but she kept eating them here, so that says a lot. The lobster Marco was also delicious. It was always busy so we usually ate at the bar for quicker service.
Nickcole Rivera
Very good food best charboiled oysters I've had.
Brett Lewis
Had the fried oysters and a shrimp po’boy. Very good and the service was quick and responsive! The lobster mac-n-cheese was very tasty as well!!
Cale Byrd
Everything was so spectacular. The Gumbo was amazing and Oysters are unbelievable.
Aaron (The AJB Experience)
Oysters for the appetizer and Cajun catch for the main followed by the bread pudding for dessert, all was good and attentive service throughout.
Cathy Hale
The oysters are great! The other foods are mediocre, we were pretty disappointed!
Lala A
In town for a conference heard about the oysters at Drago's. I sat at the bar as it was a 45-minute wait to sit in the dining room and I didn't want to wait. The bartenders were attentive and friendly and I frankly had a great conversation with. I ordered the halfway oyster and they were amazing. Very flavorful the sauce I want to bottle it. My girlfriend's ordered the gumbo, lobster mac and cheese and the crab bisque soup I tasted their food and I must say everything was delicious. I definitely will be returning.
Netiva James
The food and the service here is excellent. Our server, who's name I can't remember right now, (blame the drinks) was helpful with food selection. His recommendations were spot on. Of course we were there for the oysters and they didn't disappoint. The alligator tacos were also a hit. The lobster Marco was great with the seafood pasta sauce. I dare not forget about the bread pudding served over sauce that you want to simply drink it's so good. The prices were a steal for the food. If you're looking for food you must try in New Orleans, Drago's is the place. I can't wait to go back.
Rachel
Love the oysters here. They are super fresh, but not prepared quite as well. Seafood gumbo was good, but kind of lukewarm.
Marisol Purchase
We were recommended by someone at the hotel to dine here and it was very delicious!
Andrea Morrow
The charbroiled oysters are fabulous. Service was lackluster and unhelpful. Pretty touristy crowd
Maia Lucille Pacubas
We made a reservation but came earlier and we were still accommodated right away which was nice. Their food was superb! Very good food and the best charbroiled oysters 😋
Martin Webster
Best Chargrilled oysters I ever had. Great service too.
Chia Chang
Pretty nice and fresh oysters, lobster and steak was just okay though.

Fantastic service! Great vibes from everyone, all the way from the Chefs to the waitress, to the management. I have to personally thank Kaven for the phenomenal piece of art that New Orleans is known for, also known as the amazing Charbroiled Oysters this restaurant is known for, and for someone working around 6 foot flames all day, he was in high spirits and passed on a few laughs! Service was very attentive, Ashli is on top of her game! My drink would suddenly be full without me even knowing, and just getting up for a moment to use the restroom (very clean) and coming back, my empty plates and used utensils have all been cleared and cleaned with my food and drink still where I had left it. Jason, the manager has also come up and asked us personally how our day was going and our thoughts on the food and our experience in general. All around, I had the feeling that everyone here truly cares about the experience they're providing and if I can recommend you one thing, it is definitely to visit Drago's! Wow!!
Phillip Brown
Very nice place. A little crowded for a weekday, but I guess that means it's popular. The grilled oysters were very good. But my favorite was the shrimp with angel hair pasta. The service at the bar was good and I'm sure I'll return for more.
Celia
The bar is very cozy, there are many TV to watch the games when is the season, the service excellent, the food especially the oyster are the best
I recommend this place.
I prefer to pay the valet parking.
Aly C
The Alligator Bites were heavenly. I think about them all the time. And the Brownie A La Mode was pretty good, although it was mostly fluff and barely brownie. We also had the lobster, but it was not very good. You could tell that it wasn't fresh and was quite rubbery. Ultimately, it was a great experience and the wait to sit down wasn't long at all.
Rubin Reviews
We had our usual dozen charbroiled oysters and tuna with aoili. This is the best place you can get charbroiled oysters. The oysters are plump and not overcooked. The metarie location does a fine job as well. Just go straight to drago’s and bypass all other places that offer charbroiled oysters.
Dont be afraid to sit by the oyster bar. Watching them being cooked and talking with the oyster shuckers adds to the experience
Emily Boudreaux
Excellent place for charboiled oysters. Tried the gumbo, personally had better and the fish platter, again would recommend that personally.
Matt Morton
Chargrilled oysters. That's all you need to know about this place. BEST around! Many places offer them, but these are the top of the line!!
Beny Vasquez
It was a nice spot to eat. It was very spacious and the food was amazing. Definitely have to eat the seafood menu.
Lee Hardy jr.
Fantastic! I never take pictures of my food but I did this time. THIS is the Lobster Marco. They are known for their OYSTERS, which I never had before. They were DELICIOUS!
Sophia Peng
Food is worth 5 starts. Absolutely amazing oyster and lobster. One star deducted for the long af wait... We waited 40 min for our food to come and another half an hour until the waiter brought our check
Tameeka C
Be sure to make a reso here because the wait can be pretty long!
We got the cob salad (was MASSIVE and so good!) charbroiled oysters (first time having them, pretty good but a bit salty), a side of the seafood gumbo (yum) and the blackened catfish (bomb).
D Johnson
The best oysters in the city. A traditional stop every trip to Essence Fest. Nice scene and a GREAT bar. Staff also provides good service.
Raghav Mathur
Super friendly service, generously poured drinks, and delicious food!
Breadiva
This is a must visit restaurant for me whenever I come to NOLA. The chargrilled oysters are some of the best and the seafood gumbo oh my I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it.
Mister Wilkins
Chargrilled oysters 🔥🔥🔥🔥 smashed two dozen... and gator tacos
Valerie Taylor
Loved Dragos for charred oysters. A must if traveling and want good oysters.
Regina Luster
Baby when I say this restaurant is the truth....I absolutely loved the food and our waiters were the best. Our visit on 10/14/19 was one of anticipation, we waited 2hrs for a table but was far from disappointed and at the end of our meal the wait was long forgotten lol. I ordered the char grilled oysters as an appetizer and lawd I can't remember the name of the entree but it was a lobster stuffed with goodness with shrimp and other goodness lol. When I say I left here stuffed and satisfied this is no joke, too bad we left the ne t morning or there would have been a second a vivsit. Beware though, the food is pricey but well worth it.
Michael Herrin
Great Chargrilled Oysters. The red beans and rice and gumbo had good flavor and the brownie dessert was good also.
William demaree
AMAZING food! I highly recommend the oysters
Bonnie Mausolf
We were referred to go to Drago's for the"Fresh Grilled" Oysters. We Absolutely LOVED Them.
We always refer people to go there. YUMMMM We Look Forward to going back.
We can't get them that Fresh and Good in Minnesota. But, we do have, Tuna Hotdish & Green Jello 😁😄😃
Francis Santos (Sisqo3D)
The staff were amazing and the food was great! This place came highly recommended and my expectations were exceeded! The oysters were awesome!
Gregory “Saint”
I liked this place... it’s a little bit expensive but the taste is good there... I liked the gator bites and the charbroiled oysters with Parmesan... the mom Ruth’s seafood gumbo was average to be honest but the drago’s mixed platter with the lobster was incredible... Caesars salad was also good... nice environment and clean but the service was perfect... we didn’t have to wait for to long to get our food and everything came out quick and warm... fro my charbroiled oysters were the best I tasted in New Orleans...
Ambure U
Had oysters, charbroiled! They were amazing. “King Kong” assisted us. He was polite, funny, and allowed my husband to try different options. By far the best oysters I’ve had in the downtown area. Looking to try go here
Yan Lessard
5 stars for the food, 3 Stars for the ambiance. Charbroiled oysters were delicious as well as the main meals.
Sharon Lewis
Oysters were salty had to send back...lobster mac and cheese no lobster....gumbo was delicious...waiter was excellent service was great food was ok
Bobbi Avila
This is on the places to must visit, food was amazing! Probably the best we had in N.O. Good prices also.
Rifia Hambali
The restaurant seem nice.
They always busy every time we visit.
Many rails up and down so be careful when you walk in.
Oysters are gooooodddd
Lobster was dry and not so good.
William Myers
I had the Baja Mahi served as a salad. This was a generous portion and fantastic. I was seated at the bar and the bartender was helpful and attentive. The only downside to the visit was the host offering me either a seat at the bar or a half hour wait for a table. There were numerous tables empty throughout my time there.. but perhaps these were held for reservations that didn't show. I didn't mind being at the bar, but it seemed odd considering all the open tables.
Lee Rosa
The host wasn’t attentive. We got our food before we got our waters. We have eaten at Drago’s many times and this was sub par. The food was on point.
Arlene Sadcopen
Great char-broiled oysters in New Orleans, LA! As someone who is not a huge fan of oysters, this is an exception as it is well prepared, cooked and savory! A must try if you ever visit NOLA! I went here twice (2017 and 2018), and dining here is always a treat!
C.D. RICHARDS
These stars are only for our waiter. He was awesome!! Of course we ordered our favorite charbroiled oysters. These have had us coming back for many years.
This time was not a great one! Our oysters were burnt to a crisp, dry and literally non existent. When there is no butter below the oyster shells, thats dry! Maybe it's the cooks or lack of training. But to serve something so bad is unheard of for Draggos. Another person brought out our food . So when our waiter came to check on us he saw the disaster. Right away picked it up and took to a manager. They were replaced and the manager brought them out herself. Not before serving a side of guilt though.
She didn't seem happy about it. But we didn't ask them to replace! It was our waiter that was not happy and he saw we weren't either.
Big high five to him! Thank you for doing an excellent job !
Draggos you need to step up and maybe train your managers to be more compassionate. But get your old cooks back PLEASE!!!
Daniela Gaudino
AMAZING! I told the chef I was vegetarian and allergic to dairy and he made a special plate for me! My boyfriend loved his food as well. Customer service 5 stars also
Alicia Hardy-Montgomery
The service was phenomenal. From the manager, Anthony to Devin who was our server/bartender our experience was great. We loved the atmosphere, food, and impeccable service. 5 stars. Highly recommend.
Teresa Tims
Loveeee this place it’s my favorite oyster spot YUMMMM
Calvin N
Loved the charbroiled oysters and bread - recommended our friends come just for this! The alligator was good (not too fishy), but not so good I'd come just for that.
Robert Wagner
The oysters are the bomb. They were hot and fresh and very tasty.
Snehal Bhatt
This might be one of my all time favorite items anywhere.. Charbroiled oysters. If you've never had them, you're missing out. I never leave New Orleans without visiting Drago's at least once for a dozen of these bad boys!
Belinda Ramos
Had great grilled oysters and good drinks. I made a reservation but the place is huge and got seated right away.
Jasmine Hughes
Service was so so, but the alligator tacos are good! Drinks were nasty but gave a good buzz. Definitely a mid experience, but worth the visit. No dress code. Reserve before coming.
William Heinrich
Wow what an experience. Try it you will love it. Great atmosphere. Char grilled oysters are great as well. Good wine selection. Attentive staff. Quick and efficient
Salamand3r
The main reason I came was for the charbroiled oysters which were amazingly good. I expected more from the Drago's grill plate. Very elegant and clean place with a decently big bar.
Jassamine Redington
Excellent chargrilled oysters! Best ever! Huge!
Richard Tuminello
Chargrilled oysters were fantastic! My other food was pretty good, but didn't blow me out of the water. I would be willing to go back and give it another try though.
S. Love
I had the seafood pasta….. DELICIOUS! It was a nice helping size and it was spectacular. We also had the chargrilled oysters which were really good. Our food came our very quickly…. Quicker than our drinks so great service as well!
Daniel Nicolas
My rating is based on the atmosphere and Char-Grilled oysters. The place is huge so if you're looking for quaint and intimate it wouldn't be ideal. If you want a nice, big-city buzz type of feel, this restaurant would be perfect.
The Momshell
I know many people say that this is the place to eat in New Orleans but I think it was not my cup of gumbo. I did not get their specialty which is their oysters so that may have been my downfall. I also was there while the saints were playing on the TVs which were everywhere so the waitstaff seemed distracted. The portions were good and the shrimp was plentiful but I wasn't overwhelmed with the seasonings and the fries were stone cold . My mother got the lobster and she did say it was amazing. She did not share any. Lol. I ordered the creme brulee for dessert and the topping was so bruleed it was burnt and it was super bitter. Maybe you should go when the Saints aren't playing and order the oysters or the lobster.
Marion Tyson
Food, staff and overall experience were superb. I had the char-broiled oysters. Prices were affordable for food served.
Jesse Joyner
"I don't even like oysters and these are the best I've ever had"
The chargrill flavor is utmost, followed by salty romano cheese with butter and herbs. The only thing missing in the flavor is the oyster, which is what ultimately dissapoints if you actually like to eat oysters.
If not, then these are probably the best you will ever have. The service is excellent. Bread is divine.
Kris Keimig
Get the charbroiled oysters and leave. You don't need anything else from here. Drinks aren't good, wine selection isn't great, food isn't great... But those oysters = amazing.
Gwyn Moody
Our food was amazing. The Charbroiled Oysters were over the top!!
robert ransom
Best char-grilled oysters in town. Always stop to have them and adult beverage when are in New Orleans. It's always one of our highlights.
Sara Sullivan
Best raw oysters we had in New Orleans! Atmosphere like an IHOP. Super duper long wait.
Chong Liang
Had the famous chargrilled oyster and seafood pasta. Too be honest, they are good but not that great. Still worth trying but probably would be better not exaggerating it.
Jonathan Agee
Some of the best seafood I've ever had. The charbroiled oysters and cheesecake were top notch. Give this place a try.
Jon Holveck
Charbroiled oysters we're very good. Not my favorite shellfish but loved them. Took a star off as my cajun redfish lacked flavor.

The Lobster Marco is to die for! The lobster had a smokey taste that blew my mind. I'm from St. Louis and we don't have good seafood so I throughly enjoyed myself!
Michael Carmody
Get the grilled oysters by the dozen...you will not be disappointed. Even when seated at the bar, the staff is awesome, attentive and super nice.
Nadine Younger
Needed a good vacuuming. Busy, so slow service. Server was masked and difficult to understand, she talked so softly. Food was very good and proprietor was friendly.

You have to visit this place and order the char grilled oysters. Perfection! The seafood pasta was amazing as well.
Michael Benissan
We had to try Drago's famed oysters while visiting the area. Our wait was about 30 minutes, and we spent that watching the Saints football team play on tv screens in the waiting area. The atmosphere was particularly cheerful perhaps because of the game. When we eventually had our table we went straight for the oysters voisin. The fried oysters were topped with cheese, and they were absolutely delicious. Our server was polite and friendly as well.
Gilbert Martinez
For over ten years, I've been going to Drago's exclusively for the charbroiled oysters. They're consistently delicious!

The charbroiled oysters are everything they're reported to be. SO GOOD. Unfortunately I can't say much more about the food. The service was slow and by the time they were ready to take our order we didn't have time to wait for anything more substantial than soups and salads.
The longer version:
This restaurant is in a conference hotel. The week I was there, two conferences were happening simultaneously and a third had people arriving to start nearer the end of the week. That means meal time is limited for many of their guests who are on packed conference daily schedules. They know this. The schedules are posted on screens on different areas of the lobbies.
Management has a "full party seating only" policy. Which means if one of your coworkers' workshop runs long, you can't eat until they arrive or you just leave them to fend for themselves. On the day we tried, there were no less than 40, possibly 50 people standing around the host stand. At one point I asked for a couple menus so we could be ready to order right away and was first told "I don't have any take out orders," then "I might be able to give you one but not yet because I need them for customers." They must have had a recent menu theft ring post through town? One of us had to leave and never got to eat because they were presenting on the next session and then when we did sit we waited ages for service.
The server was actually very lovely. She was apparently overwhelmed by the several tables who got seated all at once (I'm guessing a session ended and a bunch of the people we were waiting for showed up at the same time). But she was kind and patient and honest about how long meals would take when we mentioned we were out of time to wait.

The chargrilled oysters were amazing! Got the seafood gumbo and it was meh. Overall liked it, but I'm sure there are other places with similar oysters.
Jackie Robinson
Great oysters! Located in the Hilton, it's a great spot for charbroiled oysters. We had the shrimp AND fried oyster po boy which was good.
Chris Husong
Then hotel is average, service was good. Make sure to get a room high up and with a river view. The private bar on the second floor is great to escape the average tourism and bustle of this hotel. Several comfortable chairs and secluded corners to enjoy a drink and talk.
Lori Lee
Came here on our way back from a river cruise. Charbroiled oysters were delicious, but the gumbo was a little too smoky for my taste and the barbecue shrimp had a weird texture.
Herve Dussart
I just go there for the charbroiled oysters and while I was never disappointed before, this time it was bad. Burned oysters, dry, no sauce for 6 of my dozen. Not enjoyable. I will go again with the hope it was a single time incident... those oysters are usually really good and would rate it 5, but not this time.

First time to New Orleans and we are happy we found this place. Great food. 4 stars because the service was sub par for an establishment like this.
Victor Miller
The grilled oysters were good but not to match the price. ACME seems to be a bit ...
O.k., much better and for a good price 👌
Molly Killingsworth
Awesome food and great service!! We had lobster Mac & cheese, the shrimp platter, and catfish platter- everything was delicious!
NaTasha Woody-Wideman
Drago's is always a good bet in NO. My friends and I encountered a super rude employee at the host stand, but we made the best of it and had a great time at the bar having dinner.
Sarah Chronister
Some of the most interesting tastes. Charbroiled oysters were on point. We had the fried alligator, lobster Mac n cheese which appeased even our particular 13 year old. Would definitely recommend.
Cris Steller
Great bar... ask Chad for his old fashion and sit at griseldas table for perfect service.
Andrew Kuhlman
Always top notch! Some of the BEST Louisiana food you can get. Love stopping in anytime we're in NOLA! Make sure you get the Charbroiled oysters!
Cheryl Coleman
Great atmosphere, fast service all the dishes were flavorful....and the oysters - wonderful!
Dee T
All I can say is get the charbroiled oysters! They are so worth it! I definitely don't eat oysters, but you'll try many of things while on vacation. The butter on these bad boys was delicious too, lol. It came with bread which I dipped in the butter after a friend and I devoured the oysters. There was a bit of a wait time since we went in the evening(after 6pm), but it was worth it.

Awesome experience!! Friendly staff!! Great food!!
Even had a conversation with the owner! He had such nice things to say about my hometown and was very respectful, humble and down to earth. Oh, the grilled oysters are a must have!!
Shaina Z
Good food, except the fries! Go here for the oyster and seafood. The service was NOT exceptional but pretty standard. You may have to remind them to replenish your water, take away empty plates and provide paper napkins but other than that it's fine. Obviously there busy around the clock too.
Natalie “Nakeli” Young
Both of our meals were amazing.
Lobster Marco
A Surf No Turf

My mother enjoyed the oysters very much! Wings n fries were good too. Solid place for a meal! Also, they had a great spread for their brunch buffet!
Chrystal Foster
Fantastic charbroiled oysters!! And I’m not a lover of oysters. Unless they are made like this! Service was fast and friendly. My husband had the boudin stuffed shrimp which was also delicious. Reservations are recommended because this restaurant is often packed.
Sanjeev Bhatt
Fabulous experience with raw and char grilled Oysters. Do try the eggplant sticks and wash everything down with Amber beer. Great staff with great food.
Harry Hill
The grilled oysters are phenomenal. The service was great...our waitress Ashanti was one of the best waitresses we've ever had at a casual restaurant. The other food is good but get a beer and order the oysters.
Manuel Garcia
Dragos was referred by a friend. I don't really eat oysters but when I walked in and saw the grill , smell man I has to do it...16 oysters later easily tell you how good it was. I will be back, service was solid and I will be back.
Amy Rose
Chargrilled oysters delicious!! Excellent service. Had the seafood pasta, which was good but nothing special - didn't detect any crabmeat like the menu stated, but generous portion of shrimp and delicious sauce.
Lise Bradley
Wait time was less than expected, and the food and service were excellent. I highly recommend it as one of your stops while in New Orleans.
Souvik Bhattacharjee
Went there for lunch. The service wasn't as fast as I would have hoped for. Had the famous Charbroiled Oysters for the first time. The fact that it was so buttery made it taste really great. Also had the seafood Gumbo which was ok.
Allison Tran (MochiBunny)
Service and food was ok. Not really a fan of the bread that came with the charbroiled oyster - it was very rubber like for some reason. Decent but not exactly worth recommending.
Brian Mercer
Seafood pasta was big enough to share and delicious. Classic wedge hit the spot too. Ordered the Sazerac cocktail as well because it is a local favorite! Walked right up and in without reservations. Tip: Even if a booking site says no tables, just show up and give it a try. Service was professional and the food was delivered quickly.
Andrea A
We checked this place out after our mall spree. Woooowweee the gator bites were out of this world and so were the oysters. We also shared a Cesar salad to feel better about everything (not pictured) but equally delicious.
Mo Aziz
Charbroiled oysters were amazing!

Restaurant is very well spaced for covid. Food is 3 out of 5 because most of my food was very salty. Service is quick and friendly.
DeShelle
