Reviews of Deanie's Sea Food Kitchen

This place was excellent! We had never been here before, but tried it after seeing a friend's Facebookpost. It's in a neighborhood area, there's not a lot of parking, and not all that many seats inside. However, we were able to park close and walk right in without a wait. It's very clean inside and has a nice feel. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and our cocktails were very good. I had a bowl of seafood gumbo that was good. We ordered the Giant Seafood Platter as our main. One, it is definitely a GIANT platter, and two, everything on it was EXCELLENT! We also had the coconut bread pudding, and I only regret we didn't order one to go! I'll definitely come back here when in the area

Where do I start. This was the Bucktown/Magazine street location.
Our server Tee was the most courteous and gracious. Made my first experience in NOLA restaurant 💯 please note you can share these huge plates. Unless you’re hungry. Food flavor was amazing fresh. Amazing food. Not too crowded Sunday morning. Great experience. Great 🍺 and cocktails I had some voodoo drink trying to remember the name. 👍🏾 traditional Louisiana cuisine

The food was very good. I don't hand out 5-stars, but the food deserved it. We almost left, being we just wanted a more casual restaurant and not so much on the price. The price was somewhat accurate after having ate the food. The servers were very nice as well. Kudos!

This place was highly recommended, and I am really glad we went! It had a great atmosphere and service enhanced by the great meals and beverages. It is also located in the Garden District and along Magazine Street - so there is a lot to see and do.

We went to the Magazine street location after getting a recommendation from family on how good Deanie's is. The food was just ok, nothing special. They had the highest priced crawfish and shrimp in town.
Service was not that great either. Our waitress wasn't very helpful when we asked for her recommendations and the manager tried to give us a hard time after my bf let them know the seasoning on the fried fish was too spicy. She said we should have asked what kind of seasoning they use before ordering the food as if people, with no food allergies, actually go into restaurants and ask this question about every menu option. I ordered the crab sampler plate, the menu didn't state that everything on the platter has to be fried and I found this out once my food came out. I really wanted the sauteed crab fingers but the fried didn't taste bad. The soft shell crab was mushy and empty inside, not good AT ALL! The crab au gratin needed more seasoning. My bf had the red beans and rice which was seasoned well with a side of fried fish. We frequent New Orleans and this was our first and last time going to Deanie's. Too much other great food in the city to waste on poor seafood and poor service.

Amazing seafood! Large well seasoned charbroiled oysters. 4 of us split the 1/2 fried seafood Platter and a dozen charbroiled oysters!!

Well, they had me at the red potatoes! It only went up higher from there. I agree that this location is extremely small and they were obviously understaffed, but we packed our patience and enjoyed the experience. The staff, especially our waiter who had such a wonderful personality, were hustling and trying their best to accommodate their customers. Unfortunately, they lost some due to the long wait, but for us, it was well worth the wait. The food was fresh and delicious! They appeared to have seating for their upper deck, but it was not available. Again, my guess was due to staff shortages. We will return!

Wow!! Stuffed shrimp was amazing!! The fried shrimp po-boy was HUGE! Best food we've had in NOLA since we got here a week ago. Hidden gem! Fast service and friendly too!

The ONLY place I cannot leave New Orleans without visiting! BEST boiled crab legs ever. The stuffed flounder. Drool. Best seafood New Orleans has to offer!

Sooo good. I am gluten free and had the fried catfish and crawfish broil. The catfish was so delicate and fried perfectly. It was not greasy at all. The food portions were huge and delicious but the best part was our two waitresses. They are sisters and were super fun and friendly. I don’t know if they have dedicated fryers for celiac people (definitely ask before you go) but for people like myself who can handle some cross contamination it was super delicious. 100% would eat there again.
