Reviews of Coterie Restaurant & Oyster Bar
Marcia Cephus
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and good food. Tried fried alligator and pickles for the first time. They were both fried to my liking. The catfish entree was delicious as well. The Brussel sprouts - omg - did not taste like brussell sprouts given the wine sauce or whatever was used to prepare them. I loved them.
Ashley Bordelon
I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
Our waiter, Joe, was so incredibly kind and had a great energy! The food was so delicious! We ordered the Cajun Egg rolls and I could have eaten an entire platter of them. They were so flavorful and had the perfect crunch! The Chargrilled Oysters were equally as delicious! For our entree, we (my husband and I) shared the Taste of New Orleans and desert was the Banana Foster Cheesecake. If you told me that I had to eat this every day for the rest of my life, I would be 100% okay with it.
We will definitely come here again!

Another local recommendation! This place not only had lovely decor, but a very friendly staff as well as great food.
Our server really went above and beyond for us (even surprising us with a key lime pie when they said they were out!), and the owner would ask every guest personally if they liked their experience.
If you’re wanting to go to a fancy restaurant that is affordable and delicious, we recommend Coterie

This place is a hidden gem right in the heart of New Orleans. The food is incredible, best fried oysters we had out of the 5 places we tried on our trip. So good we came back a second time. The food is complimented but the wonderful staff and high level of service. We sat at the bar where we enjoyed the friendly and kind company of Rodney who shucked all our oysters right in front of us and answered all our questions about the history of the city. The atmosphere and overall experience at the Coterie was a highlight on our trip! 10/10

Great food. If you're celiac you don't have many options but the ones they do have are really yummy. They also take extra precaution in your food. The service was amazing and such a treat to have lunch at.

The wait was a bit longer than we would have liked....but it was worth it once we got the food. By far the best oysters we've had. The shrimp scampi was very good as well, and had lots of flavor.
They have a bananas foster cheesecake that was absolutely mouthwatering.
Laquise Harbin
The food was so good! We sat at the bar during happy hour and got excellent service from the bartender. The oysters were great, drinks were strong and delicious. Definitely will be returning next time I’m in NOLA

The rumors are true. This is amazing place to enjoy oysters and all other fantastic staples that New Orleans are know for. The service is very good and professional. Judith did wonderful job helping us. Yes, bread pudding is the bomb as well as the egg rolls.
April St. Martin
Every dish was fantastic.. seafood gumbo, crawfish Etouffee, crab and corn bisque, jambalaya, chicken sandwich… all the desserts.. everything was seasoned right and full of flavor. The atmosphere was great for dinner as well. Frank (our server) was super pleasant and kind.. His food recommendation was right on point… Thank you Frank!!

I loved this place. I sat at the bar since I had an early dinner but had a great bartender with great service. She joked around and made a very good mint julep. I had the shrimp po boy which was excellent! But want to go back and try the char grilled oysters!
Sarah Langlinais
We stopped in for late lunch & enjoyed it. Not a place we'd go above & beyond to eat at again but everything we had was good. Our favorite was the banana foster cheesecake for dessert! We also had the shrimp pasta & shrimp & grits
Chrissy Kiker
Dinner was amazing!! The gator bites were the best we had in the area.
Had a group of 6 people and everyone loved their meals. The waitress was also very knowledgeable about the menu.
We were told to go to this place by a few locals and it was totally worth it.
Maria Blevins
Good portion size, yummy food, and easy ordering! The staff are all very friendly. They even included condiments and silverware without any prompting. Would definitely return to try more things on their menu!
Michelle Stuckey
This place wasn’t on our “try” list, but we wanted more oysters, and this place had really good reviews.
To start, we got the Boudin Balls, and a dozen oysters. Both were amazing! The Boudin Balls were crispy and flavorful with sauce, although it didn’t need anything except for a little hot sauce.
My husband got the NOLA burger, which he enjoyed. He said it wasn’t something that was mind-blowing, but it was a decent burger. I got the Red Beans & Rice, like my husband, it was good but nothing to brag about.
I would definitely come back just for the oysters and boudin balls!
Yady G
It was an ok food, very spicy but delicious. My only issue is that they don’t have enough servers (only two at lunch time). Tho ours (a beautiful Asian girl) was absolutely nice to us. Bathroom is neat and clean.

Went here on a recommendation. Excellent New Orleans staples. I had seafood gumbo and the blackened redfish. Excellent.
We also had the firecracker shrimp, seafood pasta and pecan pie. All excellent. Not a long wait.
Vivianne Maduro
Nice looking place with a bar and a separate dining room. Big windows allow for great people watching while you dine. Food was great. We had the seafood gumbo and it was the tastiest dish I’ve had in a while.
Joseph Kim (Joe)
For us, the BEST corn and crab bisque. We tried another place to compare but oh boy, getting chunks of crab the size of a spoon with your bite! Or EVERY bite you can taste the crab meat! Oysters were freshly prepapred at the bar and shucked! Highly recommended! They have breakfast and lunch services. Corn and Crab Bisque is on the lunch menu!

This was the only restaurant in NOLA that I went to twice and was blown away both times. I tried to hit up Drago's twice but the second time I was very disappointed. This place is consistent and amazing with their Oysters Bienville. The people are super friendly and it's got some great ambiance! If you want to order take-out here though, make sure you come right as they open because if they get too busy they won't take your order. I had to learn that the hard way!

The Good: The atmosphere, design, and oysters are all fantastic here. The staff were polite and nice and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. There was a great vibe in the place.
We had a 1/2 dozen of the char grilled oysters and they were the stars of the night. Would highly recommend and wouldn't mind trying some of the other oysters another time.
The not so Good: Service was a bit slow and at times seemed confused on where appetizers went. I attempted to order a cocktail and later had to remind the server about it. That's when I was told they didn't serve that drink (sure, that can totally happen) so I ordered something more "standard". The Whiskey sour was really good but took about 30 minutes to hit the table, after reminding the server, again.
I had the Taste of Agadiana and my wife had the Fried Grouper. Both meals were OK but didn't wow us. The Parmesan on the grouper was salty enough but there was some added in the batter that overpowered it. I took the lemon garnish from my Whiskey sour and made it a whole new dish with a little acid.
The Agadiana was a great sampling but was actually lacking salt in the Jumbalaya and etouffee. Should have gone with the grilled redfish, it looked awesome on another table.
Saving graces: We need to fully acknowledge we did arrive at a time when they were at max capacity. They actually took us as the last couple before telling people they couldn't handle anymore and found us a seat pretty fast. Very lucky. They tried hard to accommodate any other people that came in with requests to order take away or something else and the place was very popular. Clearly they are doing something right, we just might have Carruth the kitchen on a bad night.

Enjoyed it so much, we went two times in our 4 day stay. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The Chargrilled Oysters are the best! For my first time having the Crawfish Etouffe, I am so glad it was here. Other places paled in comparison. It was so buttery and creamy, I wish I had gotten a bowl instead of the cup on the Taste. Shrimp and Grits did not disappoint either. My dining companions enjoyed their Fried Oyster Salad and Red Beans and Rice. The Egg Rolls were great too. The drinks... baby... the Peach Moonshine was a sneaky one. Strong and good. Don't walk there, run! You may need to run afterwards too. Fantastic spot!
Yndalecia Martinez
We got one of the Cajun Kettle samplers and gumbo was our favorite -- fantastic! French 007 drink is tasty and not overly sweet. The blackened alligator had a good texture, and our server did a good job making recommendations. Only downside was that the bananas foster cheesecake for dessert does not come with any banana, it's just a "fosters" caramel rum sauce on cheesecake.
Amy Jaillite
Some of the best food we have had while here in The Big Easy!! The seafood gumbo was outstanding with a huge taste. Bananas Foster cheesecake for dessert, yumm!!! Our waitress, Renee, greatest ever! Gave us great suggestions and great conversation. If you are coming here, eat here and ask for her.
Jarrett Stuckey
Pretty good food for the price. Not a place we'd go out of our way to eat again whilst staying in New Orleans. Honestly, the Boudin Balls were the highlight of the meal. The oysters come a close second. I think that's what sets them apart is the happy hour for the oysters and appetizers at the Bar only. The entrees are pretty good; I've had better red beans and rice. The NOLA burger was also pretty good. Give it a chance if you want to check it off your list or if it's within walking distance.
Tamika Jackson
The oysters and the young lady and severs were amazing. We were in town for XeroCon convention. Everyone at the bar felt like family. Great atmosphere and awesome lemon drops.

It's almost been a year since I ate at Coterie, but it's a meal that I can't forget. I'm really happy that I chose it for my first meal in New Orleans, and am planning on going back on my next trip. My server was incredibly friendly and efficient, and the food was amazing. I had the blackened alligator and the gumbo.
J Sharp
We received a recommendation from the concierge at Omni. He said he goes to Coterie on his birthday. I agree with him it’s a special place. We ordered four appetizers to share: crab cakes (crab was excellent), boudin balls (good spicy flavor), blackened gator (great flavor, tasted like chicken) and our unanimous favorite the Cajun egg rolls. For dinner we ordered blackened redfish (great flavor, we all loved the garlic mashed and the Brussels sprouts), Parmesan crusted grouper (choose your own side, and Brussels sprouts), grilled chicken salad (great) and the corn and crab cup which I finished so fast my picture is of my empty bowl. For dessert we shared the yummy key lime pie and the winner, bread pudding. The service was friendly and personable even tho they were understaffed. The decor looked fairly new. We can’t wait to go back on our next visit to try more menu items and repeat our favorites!

We found this place out of nowhere and thank God for it. We had Irish Coffee (definitely a must have) and a mimosa for drinks. Our breakfast was the southern (egg Benedict) and biscuit and gravy which our waitres suggested to add eggs on top of it and I regret not doing it. This is a most to go place for breakfast. Hopefully I'll be back to visit again, but for dinner. I can't wait.
John Watkinson
We were walking by and stopped in after looking at the menu. We had maybe a 5 min wait for a 10:30am breakfast on a Saturday.
To say the service and food was amazing is an understatement. WE WILL BE BACK!!
I highly recommended you make this place happen. Be sure to ask for Ranisha she has great recommendations. Did not disappoint

Delicious! An incredible joint to dine at if you want to experience classic New Orleans dishes among many other incredible eats. I got the "Taste of New Orleans", which is pictured in my review and was comprised of jambalaya, seafood gumbo, and red beans and rice. All of it was top notch, and this dish allowed me to try dishes that are staples of New Orleans cuisine! Many other items on the menu were appealing to me as well, I tried small bites of the Crabcake Pasta and the Firecracker Po Boy from my family's plates and highly recommend both of those dishes as well.

We were really excited to walk in and get seating at Coterie. The hostess was very friendly. We asked to sit at the bar but was told they didn’t serve food at the bar. No problem, the hostess sat us at a table immediately. We had to wait a bit, but our waiter Nat came out to take our order. Nat was very nice and talkative and gave us tips on what to do later in the evening. Our biggest problem was the food which is really disappointing and I’m hoping was a fluke. We were told the staff was short and there was only one cook. The food came quickly considering but just wasn’t as delicious as we expected. The Bodin balls were the absolute best we had. Very good! Recommend. The raw oysters were not good at all. They tasted very dirty, the horseradish was extremely strong. And I can’t be 100% sure, but we think we got at least 3 that were still frozen. For Market price $33, we expected them to be fresh. Again, we aren’t experts on how they are prepared, but they were almost like biting into slushy ice. We got the sausage gumbo and Taste of Acadiana. The gumbo was extremely salty on both meals and the jambalaya on the Acadiana was not hot at all. I guess I would describe as borderline warm? The accompanying bread was hard like it was sitting out. Will say the Bloody Mary was DELICIOUS except the menus say $10 but we were charged $12. Also while walking out, there were 3-4 people eating at the bar so I guess food was served at the bar?
Staff good, location/atmosphere great, food poor unfortunately.

Definitely an awesome restaurant! We had such a great time. The food was aweome and their chaboiled oysters were super amazing ! The drinks were also the best we had in NOLA. We hot margaritas and " the painkiller". AMAZING DRINKS. The BEST part though was our server Frank. He was very polite, friendly and went above and beyond. We ordered pecan pie for dessert and wanted ice cream with the desset. They did not have the icecream at the restaurant so he made someone get it from the store. We were just amazed ! Thank you Frank for your hospitality! This a story we will be telling for years! Just an awesome expereince!

Classy and clean interior. Our waiter was very friendly but service was slow (took us 35min to get our drinks), so don't go if you're on a time crunch. The chargrilled oysters were to die for, and the cajun egg rolls were delectable.
James Chilton
The Crab Augratin was surprisingly delicious! Boudin Balls and Crab Eggrolls were fantastic! Firecracker shrimp Po boy had enough shrimp to share, and the Bread Pudding was incredible!!
Ghaith provided excellent service and can't wait to come back here!
Hannielle Per
My bf and I went to the coterie for lunch yesterday and i can say the food was bomb. We ordered the taste of Arcandia and all i can is their etoufee is to die for. Their char-grilled oysters was okay cause i am not a big fan of the saucy one but my boyfriend loved it. Will definitely go back

Overall it was a great experience. I ate breakfast at this establishment two mornings in a row. They have big windows that allow in a lot of natural light. It appears that they can be opened for spring and summer months by the staff. The music was atmospheric and if you want to sit at the bar, they ask you when you first come in. This place might be really busy in the evening, but it was quiet with not many people around 8:00am. I think that is a good thing.
The first morning I ate the Seaside skillet with a biscuit. I believe that included crawfish, shrimp, eggs, peppers, onion, and cheese. It was good, but the cheese was a little too much for my personal taste, so if you don't like a lot of cheese with your skillets, just tell them to go light.
I believe Frank was my server the second day and came across as very friendly and professional. I had the Pain Perdu (French Toast) and decided I wanted a little more, but not too much. I ended up having the BLT (fried green tomato, red tomato, lettuce, bacon - no mayo) but substituted Texas Toast for a biscuit. The BLT was a good light meal and the French toast was decent. It was composed of long strips of bread with maple syrup. It was a little soggy in a few isolated spots, but enough for me to stop eating it.
If you are in the neighborhood (near Canal/Magazine) and some of the nearby options you were considering have long lines outside, be sure to give this place a chance. They have a huge breakfast menu, so you have a lot to choose from. On average, prices are 10-18 for most items and 2-4 for sides.
You can use a QR code to pay with your phone.

Unbelievable food. Their Jumbalaya is the best food I had in New Orleans. I got the taste of New Orleans and had to come back and get it a second time. Shot out to Frank our server, who had great suggestions and made you feel like you were family. This is a must stop when in town.
Fran B.
Best food I had while in New orleans by far. Hubby and I were both pleased with the service, drinks, and food. The shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had. Hubby enjoyed his taste of new orleans too. This is the only place that I will recommend to family and friends.
Matt Aldridge
this place set some high expectations but I am not quite sure they were met!
We got the boudin balls and eggrolls as an appetizer and they were FANTASTIC. SO SO GOOD.
BUT Things didn’t end well. I ordered the bacon jam burger (medium-well) and the further into the burger I got, I couldn’t finish it. It was so pink. It’s more of a personal preference for me, hence the reason I asked for medium well.
Amy Kay
So glad we decided to eat here! Happy hour 3-6 with great deals on drinks. My husband and I shared the crab cake pasta and roast beef Po-boy and that roast beef stole the show! That beef was so delicious, perfect balance with the pickles and the french bread was so soft. Next time we visit New Orleans again we will definitely be going back for that one po-boy! 👌🏻

WHEN I TELL YOU THIS FOOD IS DELICIOUS IN EVERY MEANING OF THE WORD🥲🤤🤤🤤 This was my 2nd time in New Orleans and my first time staying in the French Quarter where everything is literally a 3-10 minute walk away. We happen to just pop into this restaurant by a whim but it was the best decision! The food amazing! Joe, our waiter, excellent and went above and beyond with his service, and did I mention the food was great? We got there on the tail end of happy hour and was able to get their $5 Hurricanes 🌀 and WHEW! They didn’t skimp on the liquor or flavor. So good we went back the next day for breakfast. I highly recommend eating here.
Andrea Shelley
A family lunch and was happy to see a kids menu. Was disappointed they didnt have any fresh fruit as listed, but my kids were ok with fries. The shrimp po boy was delicious! The debris po boy was just too salty. Our waitress was friendly but swamped so we waited about 5 minutes after being seated before we even gave a drink order.
dan m
Definitely an awesome restaurant. Hot fresh food and great wait staff. They take a lot of pride in their restaurant and the quality of food. If Joe is working definitely try to sit in his section. What a great waiter kind polite and makes you feel like you're home with a friend. Clean restrooms and nice bar area. Nothing bad to say about this place at all.
I'm in town for cleaning effort from Ida and have been to a couple other restaurants near here and nothing can compare.
Tim Wilson
We stopped in for dinner Sunday night with a party of four. We had a thirty minute wait, which was inline with other places we thought about stopping. I would have rated the food at 4 or 5 stars, if the orders had arrived without missing items. One plate showed up without fries, not to bad. But the shrimp scampi, which arrived as the other three of us were halfway through our meal, came out with without the shrimp. By the time it came out she had to have it to go as everyone else had finished at least ten minutesbefore. As for the other food, the Cajun egg rolls are really something to try. I enjoyed the red beans and rice and the jambalaya as well. I was told the boudin balls were good as well. The server was very nice and entertaining. I haven't decided if I will try go again. I probably would, what I got correctly I enjoyed enough to see if the problems were just a one time thing, but two of the group would not.
Catherine Nikkel
Thanks to a quick Yelp search when looking for a spot to grab lunch, we came in here. Service was a little slow at first but the hospitality throughout made up for it.
Our server (wish we got his name) was fabulous. Entertaining, funny, knowledgeable + very welcoming.
We enjoyed a couple drinks (one of the best mojitos) + a firecracker po boy and a grilled shrimp salad. Everything was super fresh + price wise matched most restaurants in the French quarter.
Inside the restaurant had a great vibe with exposed brick and large windows. Didn’t get too busy throughout the time we were there so definitely recommend if you’re looking for something just off bourbon street without the wait times + still a great time!
Danielle Bright
The food is amazing! Good wine list also. Service was slow/ terrible We never saw our waiter while all the other wait staff was present. Had to ask for several times for a water refill. Ordered firecracker shrimp and was brought out egg rolls, then was told the waiter wanted to get us something since he did not tell us that they were out of firecracker shrimp. He did comp them. Then our meals came out twice. Then when we finally received the bill, we were charged for two of our entrees each. In addition the wine list for the bottle we ordered said 36 and the check said 45. All of this was taken care of but I think the server should have double checked the bill before dropping off to table.

It was good.. I enjoyed it.. the service was good.. I recommend the taste of acidianna.. I would recommend trying once but I probably wouldn’t come again after that.. there is a lot to taste in New Orleans
Chris Andrews
Great oysters. Really liked the 2-2-2 appetizer with different kinds of oyster prep. The bread pudding was fantastic. Great service.
John Wilson
Definitely some of the better food we had this weekend.
One stop i would definitely make while you out here.
Great food and service..
It was a little of everything..
O “Mr. Review You” Cally
Bartender amazing can't knock the happy hour at all, and the service is pretty great, and food is pretty good so there's nothing I can really say that's bad about this place but if you want to sit at the bar there may be a wait and that Gator Bite drink is dangerous and that's a good dangerous
Joe Caruso
Everytime Alabama plays in New Orleans, we make sure we go to Coterie Restaurant. It's food that taste like a good ole Cajun Momma is in the back making her famous New Orleans cuisine.
Oysters, Jambalaya, and Gumbo were amazing.
Highly recommended such an amazing atmosphere with incredible food.
Aaron Thomas
I don’t write reviews often but this meal was outstanding! This is my third time in the Big Easy and this was the best meal I’ve had and I don’t say that lightly!
Jewel Hu-A-Ng
We came as a walk in and waited about 30 minutes for a table. AJ was our waiter and he was amazing. I had the shrimp pasta, my daughter had the kids buttered pasta, and my mom had the 222 oysters plus the shrimp pasta as well. Everything tasted so good!! I also drank a Hurricane which tasted like juice so it crept up on me 😁 i highly recommend this spot!
LeTisha Shaw
I had a taste of éttoufée, jambalaya, and gumbo, and it was delicious! It's definitely come back to sample more of the menu the next time I'm in town!
David E. Huerta
one of my absolute favorite places to eat in New Orleans. It was recommended to me by a professional fisherman and Swamp Tour guide (Luka at Cajun Encounters). I've taken many people here and Coterie had never. Be patient with the food coming out, its absolutely worth it, enjoy your company and the food will not disappoint. Thank you Zara, Joseph and Jordan. I look forward to eating with you again soon!!!
Destiny Fulbright
Best freaking raw oysters Ive ever had. The chargrilled oysters had really good flavor as well. Michael was great made sure we got the best oysters.
Ray Kellar
Great food and service. The blackened shrimp and Gumbo were to die for with house made tarter sauce. Overall 5 stars!
Ling Z
Great place for quality Oyster. No lines and fair market price. 25$ for a dozen. Very nice staff and big big shrimp po boy!
Only complain is they don’t tell you the happy hour is only on the oyster bar.
I Love Allura
Our server AJ was amazing. Attentive, cleaning and tidying up around the restaurant while we were there to ensure us that upkeep of the establishment is just as important to the experience as good service and food. Amazing. All the way and the food was delicious. Seasoned to perfection and fresh.
OuttaTownTony
The host was horrible, but the bartender was great. The prices were fair and the food was okay. I had better oysters elsewhere and the firecracker shrimp were not as good as Bonefish Grills. I would try the redfish or Seafood Gumbo. As always Tell’em OuttaTownTony sent you!
De’Chelle Plummer
This is a top tier restaurant. Our waiter, G, was attentive and the food was amazing. I got the taste of New Orleans which was flavorful and nice to experience 2 Louisiana dishes. I also got the chargrilled oysters which Taste impeccable. I haven’t had something tastes so good in a long time. We got the bread pudding for dessert and it was so so good. The cocktails were mediocre but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Abigail Jones
The food was amazing , I ordered the crab cakes and absolutely loved them, my husband and I also enjoyed the firecracker shrimp. Very quick service and very friendly
Kat Pink
Everything about this place was great. If you love oysters, this place will exceed your expectations.
Frank, our waiter, kept us full and satisfied. I don’t really have any pictures because it was so delicious and it went very fast. Will definitely return
Nicolas Souza
Good breakfast, I didn't not have to wait to be seated which was great. Good ambience and friendly staff.
Brandy Williams
My first time in New Orleans and came across Coterie Restaurant and it was so good and the atmosphere was nice and quiet also fast. Thr food was nice and hot, pancakes reminded me of my grandmother.
Dennis Velasco
We ate here for lunch today
Food was great and our server Frank was very knowledgeable and impeccable service.
So we are back again for Dinner !!!!
Tonia Calvo
Omg....THE best oysters!! Found this place when looking for somewhere for lunch and it did not disappoint. Our waitress, Catey, was the bomb!! We'll definitely be back!!! Thank you😃 …
Ashley Young
This was a last minute decision that ended up being the best! The shrimp and grits were 🔥🔥🔥 omg! Seriously come here if you’re hungry and the Ruby slipper across the street has a wait that’s too long lol …
Margaret West
First time to New Orleans. This place was recommended for an original hurricane and oysters. First restaurant I visited. I sat at the back bar. Hostess and bar tender were very friendly and professional. Hurricane was delicious, and I took one to go. Ordered the 222 oyster platter; highly recommend. Great service.
April Mann
The food is good, expect to pay French Quarter prices. The service is where this place needs some work. We went in three times during our stay, the first time our table side service was great. Next, we sat at the bar and the bartender seemed like he was not having a good night. He certainly wasn't friendly nor was he on top of our service. The third time we went in, the female bartender was so unfriendly that we just walked out. If you're in the service industry and tourists are your bread and butter, you might want to get some people skills.
Petr P
Great food albeit with slower service because of full house - would come back for alligator and oysters 🦪 …
Barry Marks
Wow! Great place! Great food! Great service!
It was a Sunday afternoon and not very busy. We had a variety of oysters each style was great! We’re pescatarian and they ensured there were no non-fish ingredients added to the dishes, such as the Oysters Rockefeller
Eric Givens
Absolutely amazing food all around! And customer service was legit! Highly reccomend the 222 oysters
windie villanueva
Came here from a recommendation from the hotel. The food was delicious. We ordered basically all the appetizers. The char boiled oysters were delicious(we ordered severalrounds). The fried green tomato under the crab cake was top notch. The boudin balls were okay. The club sandwich was huge and delicious, the fries were under cooked. The service was nothing to brag about, and could be better. Would recommend this place only for the food.

My sisters and I stopped for lunch before we left for the airport at the end of our trip. From the minute we walked in, each and every staff person was welcoming and responsive. The hostess allowed us to leave our luggage next to her stand. We sat at the bar and the sever was very personable and engaging. We ordered the "house regulars" for lunch. The food was prepared and served quickly, and was DELICIOUS!
My sister left her phone as we were rushing to our Uber. We contacted the Manager on Duty, who could not have been more responsive and professional in helping to get the phone returned to Baltimore.
Without question, we would go again and would highly recommend anyone looking for a relatively casual location with professional and personable staff, not to mention delicious food, to strongly consider Coterie!

The oyster Rockefeller is a must try! The alligator bite and oyster po boy was wonderful. It looks pretty popular and we were turned away at the door, but we were able to call back and make a 8pm reservation. It was totally worth it.
Nakita Brothers
JJ was our server and he was amazing! We came for lunch and returned for breakfast. The pancakes, crab cake pasta, egg rolls, banana fosters cheesecake, and jam burger were all AMAZING. The pancakes are not heavy and have crispy edges. This is definitely a go to New Orleans spot!
Laura Fadenrecht
Service was not great. Food was average. Nice clean restaurant though.
Happy Girl Travels
We ate there for breakfast our entire vacation. Delicious food! The French toast and BLT are the best! JJ our waiter was wonderful!
A must try. I hear their oysters are also delicious!
Shannon Kornegay
Great Place and Location!! The food is exceptional, I had the GRITS and BACON and BISCUITS, and the Irish Coffee is yummy!! Superb service!!
We returned same evening for dinner, wonderful choices on the menu, Chocolate and Peanut Butter is to DIE for!!
D Lewis
AJ was our server & he's by FAR the best server this company could have. We were visiting from The DMV for my daughter's birthday & he serenaded her with a song. He's GREAT at taking your order by memory. I truly enjoyed my entire experience at Coterie. I will DEFINITELY visit this establishment again & I pray AJ will be our server.
Thanks SO MUCH AJ! You're awesome 🤗
Ashley Bell
5 stars cause Jackson is the best! Love her. Food was pretty dang good as well.

This spot has quickly become our “Go-to” higher end eatery when visiting NOLA. Frank and Tammy are a fantastic team! From their fantastic attitudes and offering great conversation, to pairing a great wine to go with our Raw Oysters! Each time we come in it’s a wonderful experience. Would like to hear music in the restaurant just to liven up the atmosphere, but for the most part, it’s such a great spot to eat and watch people walk by. We will be back in a couple months.
Ashley Hunter
Our first taste of New Orleans did not disappoint! Not only was the food amazing, but so were the drinks and staff! We highly recommend the fresh oysters, Pimms cup, and anything with shrimp.
Karen Farabee
We came to Coterie on the advice of our hotel (the One11--great spot as well). We were not disappointed. Great food, especially the red beans & rice, shrimp po boys and the star of the table--the corn and crab bisque. Bloody marys were good (in house mix) but could be great with the addition of salted rim and pickled veggies.
The best part of the experience was the service provided by Daranika. She was friendly, knowledgeable and got our food out quickly since our friends were on their way to the airport. The manager also came over to ask how things were and you could definitely tell they have high standards (and met them).
We will be back...especially since we discovered that they also do brunch on the weekends!!!
Brandon
One of the best meals I've had in this town. Place was pretty busy so elected to sit at back bar where the bartender (I think chris) recommended drinks and menu suggestions. Gumbo was amazing 👏 …
W Johnston
Tell Josh (bartender), You came because of Jackie's post (HIS favorite Texan), lol. Dude this place has a great happy hour, and best raw oysters in town. I ate dozens while on my stay. Several other items on the menu are phenomenal and DO NOT DISAPPOINT: crab cake, fried gulf shrimp, shrimp etouffee, CAJUN EGGROLLS to die for, and Seafood platter. This place will keep you coming back!
Rich Kollanda
We are pleasantly surprised the place was excellent clean waiter was tremendous service... The raw oysters were great so the egg rolls... I had the Shrimp poor boy excellent almost more than I could eat.... Highly recommend..
Wiki Steve Felton
This place can me highly recommend by the information center at the square. We ordered top shelf gin, soda and lime drinks but something was off… maybe the soda or bad ice? Then we ordered food which took a very long time to start with. Starting with the 2+2+2 oysters, these are wild and we are biting into sand bits… I think a high end establishment should be serving farm raised clean shell fish. The jambalaya was dry, I make one myself that’s better and I’m just a weekend cook from Seattle.
Kayla G
Great spot for drinks, friendly service, and honestly the salad was really good haha - so vegetarians might appreciate this spot. Definitely fresh seafood, I had the chicken/sausage gumbo and it was pretty good. Overall, would recommend.
Prissy Bellelo
Food is delicious!! No wait to get a table! Our server JJ suggested the Crabcake Benedict! I would travel to NO just to order it! It was that good! Food came out quick. All around great service!! Thank you, Coterie NOLA
Zach Redka
Delicious food, good vibes, fast. The waiter Frank was awesome!
Joshua Hanrahan
So, we ate dinner here last night (08/26/2022). The fried shrimp were great, the fried fish was okay, the atmosphere was alright, and I thought that our server was great. With that said, our bill came to $58 something. I gave the server my card. When she brought the card machine over, I chose the 22% tip option, so my bill should have been $71. Instead, my card showed a charge of $201!!! I went back in after I saw the notification from my bank. I explained what happened to our server again. She said that they would correct it. 10 minutes later, she brought me an adjustment receipt that said $91. It seemed better, but $201 minus $71 is NOT $91. Plus, it did NOT say credit of $91. In the end, I learned a costly, painful lesson…triple check your bill and what they are charging you BEFORE you give them your credit card.
UPDATE: they made it ALMOST right, after I messaged them on FB. Bottom line: just MAKE SURE you are being charged correctly for dinner.
Kayla Irizarry
We were promptly greeted and sat by a very nice hostess and had drinks on our table in just a few mins after that! Katie was our server and she was fantastic! We got the fried pickles which were a little salty to me but still tasted good! Next we got the fried catfish entree w/Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes and he got the crawfish etoufee. Both entrees were beyond delicious and we were practically licking the plates clean! Lol we got the boozy drinks “crazy Cajun” and the “hurricane” both were dangerously tasty!! Recommend this place big time!! We went on a Cajun encounters swamp tour and that company owns this restaurant so we were also given a 10% off coupon which helped out with the bill cause it was a tiny bit pricey but very worth it!!
Madeline mullins
I just want to say the bartender who was working tonight she was a female and the barback was Max anyway as well as the oyster shucker they're all super amazing. There was some Ruckus inside of the restaurant and they cleared it up very quickly and very professionally. I will definitely be coming back here and truly I think that bartender needs a raise a huge raise she's amazing.
Robert Kay
My homemade gumbo is fabulous, but alas, their smoky smooth roux beats mine out. Tried the Taste of Acadiana and enjoyed every bit of it. Small tip, start with the étouffée, it’s flavor is very gentle and subtle. Don’t miss the Banana Foster Cheesecake nor the Bourbon Pecan Pie for dessert either. You will not regret it! I wish I had photos, but truthfully it was too good to bother with a camera. Besides, we didn’t go to take photos, we went to enjoy good company and great food.
Jessica Kouzmanoff
Delicious entree (shrimp pasta)! The bartender was absolutely incredible with his speed and professionalism while being SWAMPED at the bar. Our server was funny and attentive. Minus one star because the host and Manger had very little clue what was going on and had quote times all over the place (very inaccurate.)
Samantha Reeh
Make sure you have reservations to get a table. We sat at the bar since we did not. The bartender was very polite and attentive. However, since they were short staffed, there were no cocktails.
Devyn Keane
Chargrilled oysters were OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS! And the fries are really good too, which I notice is hard to find in New Orleans. Wait staff was great
Fadra Nally
Stopped in for dinner not realizing you needed reservations (don’t trust Google on this). The hostess was super apologetic and when we were walking past the next day, we stopped in for lunch. The food was great (loved the fried pickles and red beans & rice) and the service was great.
Natalie L
The Alligator taste like popcorn chicken! The shrimp pasta was tasty but needed a little more salt. The chicken sandwich was delicious as was the bacon burger. The oysters were very good and had a savory taste. They are comparable to Neyows oysters. Would definitely come again. Check out the tours locations for a 10% off coupon. Reservations via Yelp are highly recommended as they fill up quickly. The Hurricane drink was tasty with a very tropical feel.
Rob Claybon
We stumbled in here and got lucky. The Bloody Mary was fantastic and the food was right there with it. JJ our server was great and certainly added to the vibe. Stop in and grab some food here.
Scott Dean
Yes, yes, and yes! We nearly walked in to a table at 2p on a Wednesday. Grilled Oysters-heavenly! Cajun Eggrolls with romoulade sauce-divine! Chicken Gumbo-nothing special. Efficient, friendly service.
Joseph Bordelon
The food was PHENOMENAL! Everything was delicious, well prepared & served with terrific staff! Joe was excellent as was the rest of the staff & we will definitely be returning the next time we're in town!
Gabriela Mosquera
I went there twice, I tried crab cake eggs Benedict and boudin/crawfish eggs Benedict.. good he flavor was amazing and the prices weren’t bad.
I also went there for drinks and I like it a lot..! The bartender was very nice and his cocktails were super good 😊 …
Keith Rappold
The bartender Corina was excellent. She literally waited on the bar and made drinks for the entire restaurant. The chargrilled oysters were a welcome variation from what ive had before. The drinks were great. My wife and i shared the taste of new orleans and it was very good!
Braden Baker
I had my best dinner in NOLA at this gem. I recommend the chargrilled oysters, crawfish etouffee, and shrimp and grits.
Edge was our server/bartender and he was amazing.
Tanya L Moore
I had the biscuits and gravy! OMG! The gravy is a crawfish, andouille sausage sauce that is FABULOUS!
Our waiter was JJ and he was great! Will definitely come back for a lunch or dinner while we are in NOLA
Stuart Scott
Holy cow the cajun egg rolls and the blackened gator were AMAZING. The only thing better than the food was the service from Joey at the bar. Absolutely perfect.
Josh Casselman
Coterie is amazing. When all other places in the Quarter are booked or lines out the door, Coterie was always there to deliver. Literally went 3 times in two days. The fresh shucked oysters, the boudin balls, the red beans and rice, the gumbo, it was all amazing. Frank our server was the best ever. Super cool personality, a lot of fun, all while serving a very nice meal. I highly recommend that you stop by. I will be back.
Celeste D
One of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I’ve never liked oysters until I had their charbroiled oysters. Also blackened alligator bites are delicious!!!
Edward Penniman
12/15/18
The Coterie Restaurant & Oyster Bar was just down the street from our hotel, so we stopped in for lunch before boarding the cruise ship.
Although it is in the French Quarter, its atmosphere is more along the lines of the industrial/warehouse style that you see renovated sections of cities today. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
I started off with one of the best tasting Bloody Mary’s that I have ever had. They call it the Cajun Bloody Mary made with St. Roch House Infused Vodka and House Bloody Mary Mix.
I normally have my oysters raw, but since I was in New Orleans, I was up for trying they in different ways. This time I had their Brenvile Oysters: 6 broiled oysters topped with a combination of shrimp, crab, chopped oysters, breadcrumbs, and Romano cheese. The filling had just right amount of tang to it. It was delicious, I’m going to have to see it I can find it someplace else in my travels.
When I saw Alligator on the menu, I had to have it, what else could you have when you are in Louisiana. The waiter suggested that I order the Alligator Platter blackened to get the best flavor, he said that if you get it fried, the batter covers up most of the flavor of the alligator. So, I ordered the Alligator Platter: Blackened gator tail and a link of grilled gator sausage, served with remoulade. The tail meat had the texture of pork and the flavor similar chicken, but stronger.
We heard the term Po-boy, but never had one, so, Lois decided to order their Roast Beef Debris Beef Po-boy: A slow roasted beef soaked in savory, brown gravy. It is similar to what we call a French Dip Sandwich, except it has lettuce and tomato. She really enjoyed her first Po-boy.
Next time in New Orleans we will definitely be stopping here for lunch and I want to try their breakfast. Their breakfast menu looks appetizing.
Dr. Priyanka Ingle-Jadhav
Great food.. French 75 was ok
Jennifer Cruz
The location is in the business district. Staff is friendly and happy. Location is bigger then it looks. They have art for sale. Drinks were great everyone enjoyed the lunch. Dishes were served hot and had great flavor. The crab cake was amazing. This was a great local spot.
Nicole Allard
Just had the most amazing salad. It was the grilled chicken salad. Asked for no blue cheese. Everything was perfect. Ordered the painkiller without nutmeg and it was so good, I had to get another one. I have celiac disease and this was the best salad and gluten free meal ever. My husband who doesn’t have celiac disease, ordered the gluten free jambalaya. It was amazing too! Our server was the best. Felt very welcomed.
Holster Willis
Absolutely a perfect dinner. Frank out waiter was a rock star! We had lemon drops which were perfect. We started with chargrilled oysters. Yummalious 5 stars Cajun egg rolls boudin balls and gumbo!!! Over all a great dinner!!!
Don Sien
This restaurant is a new discovery for us this visit and we've had dinner here twice already in 5 days! The food and service are very good. Kara was our lovely server both nites and she is friendly and attentive.
Our first time we shared the fried alligator bites which were quite tasty (tastes like chicken😉) and a good sized portion. She had the crawfish etoufee with rice which was very good with alot of crawfish. I had the fried catfish which was 2 fillets over crawfish dirty rice and side of grilled veggie(squash). Everything was fresh and delicious. For dessert, we shared the bread pudding which was yummy...the bourbon sauce was the bomb!
The restaurant is clean and spacious with a friendly staff. It is on the corner of Decatur and Iberville streets.
Michael Woody
What a wonderful place to visit for real New Orleans food!
Service was the best, atmosphere was lively and everyone in the place was smiling.
I had the ultimate trifecta. Gumbo, crawfish etouffee and jambalaya. I was really impressed. Our table also ordered the Catfish Napoleon and an amazing oyster poboy. Our apps were the boudin balls with roumalad and
Oysters Bienville. Those oysters were amazing!!
The Moscow mules were a real hit.
Already at the top of the list on our next trip back. Love it!
VJ
Good location and interior decor was neat. It took some time before the waiter came by to say hello and take the drink order. Crab al gratin appetizer was good but crab cake entree was cold and we sent it back. Also I thought warm garlic cheese bread served with the charbroiled oyster and that was not the case.
Sabian Burke
I was served by Frank and he was honestly phenomenal I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. The food was excellent, I had the Cajun burger which I highly recommend it was just the right amount of flavorful and spicy.
Megan Boyd
A great experience and the atmosphere was amazing. They really should have had someone helping Tammy at the back bar because she had to serve us and make drinks for the dining room. It was exhausting watching her. But she was super nice and fun to talk with. The food was really good. I recommend the fried pickles. Overall, a great experience and would recommend.
J Kinkaide
The crab cakes are on point, get 2, they are that good. Our bartenter Josh is top notch, very knowledgeable of the area, recommends fun places, pours a great drink. You will go here more than once.
Jibril
Great service, good gumbo, and fantastic dessert.
Angie deBorja
Our server Jessica was awesome. Very friendly and attentive to us and all the tables in the room. I had the Taste of New Orleans (Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Ettouffe) for $18.5. Delicious! I would definitely come back again. The restaurant was clean, with a nice contemporary design in the seating area and bar area.
Steven Niette
Wow! The food was A-MAZING. My grandma has tried catfish from her home state of Mass. and has lived in the south for over 50 years...and she said this was the best she's ever had. We recommend the seafood platter hands down. The red beans and rice were good, but the chicken gumbo was the best I've tried in the New Orleans-area. The bread pudding sauce was very good.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the bar is near the dining area and some of the patrons we're rather noisy. One man was being unnecessarily boisterous and I thought the bartender should have done something to try to quiet him. Still, a great experience overall.
Josephine Manns
We stumbled upon this place when looking for the perfect spot for dinner (pre-COVID). Glad that we did! The service was friendly, the food was good, and the drinks were great. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and even myself, as a vegetarian, was able to find something delicious. And enjoyable visit!
Anna Daemon
Atmosphere was lovely. Staff was super friendly and knew the menu. Food was excellent. We had catfish and shrimp Po Boys as well as breakfast delivered to our room.
Melissa A
Great big yummy oysters. Great happy hour. Good bar service. We had to be aggressive to get the hostesses’ attention. They were busy socializing. Otherwise a good experience. Check them out!
Wendy McGibboney
Friendly and quaint. Large portions and completely delicious. No wait to get seated. If you're looking for a good breakfast without the loud, huslte and bustle and having to wait in line, this place is perfect. I highly recommend the crab cakes Benedict! And the hangover burger.
Kai Mann
I cannot remember our waiters name but he was simply put, the BEST! His service was truly impeccable! He helped us with our food selection and his picks from the menu were nothing short of delicious.
Alan Harris
Celebrated my girlfriends birthday at this place and let me tell you that just when things were not going right they certainly stepped in to deliver the absolute best service.. Sarah who was our server, was very busy but was awesome! Even the manager Jack came out to show love for the birthday girl and offered dessert to us for the special occasion. Absolutely a superb service you definitely come back on my next visit. Thank you!
Lynn Shupp
If you love oysters on the half shell try this place, you won't be sorry. They were huge and tasted fantastic.
It was a great start to start our NOLA stay! The drinks were yummy as well.
Ms. Me
Food was amazing, people were friendly. Not the best oysters I've had though. They were good but won't come back for just oysters. Their catfish was really good and their dirty rice was awesome.
Lidia Braboveanu
Great place! The menu has some great food and drinks options and the service and atmosphere are the absolute best!
Hyunsun C
Catfish dish... not bad, would have been better with fresh salad with some lemon juice. Alligators sausage & fried alligator meats.. be aware..very salty, if you have high blood pressure then it's not the dish you want.
Bianca Weeks
We got the boudin balls, pasta with crab cake, and redfish. Everything was decent. Probably wouldn’t go again, not sure if it was just our visit but it was VERY loud. At first it seemed our server just wasn’t attentive but then we over heard her talking to another table and it was actually her second day, she had what seemed like 10+ tables and it was fairly busy. It seems like it would be a good place for after work drinks/food. Just not personally for me. The painkiller was delicious!
Jen
Review your bill; waitress (Mona L) charged over $17 for a martini with a menu price of $11. UPDATE: Contacted by manager who resolved issue to my satisfaction. Great atmosphere; would try it again.
Cathy Harrell
Good food, short wait times. I love the bar upfront because you can get a drink while you wait and watch the guy shucking oysters.
Kerry Johnson
Been to NOLA many times and experienced many food establishments but this one is right up there at the top. This was a fantastic experience for our entire group. Sampled several dishes and each of them were great. Did not have a single plate that disappointed. The wait staff was outstanding and added to the great experience along with the newly remodeled interior. We will be back again.
Marcus Harrington
We’ve been eating here for years! Even when it was named Huckfins. This visit was so disappointing. I’m a creature of habit and order the same thing almost every time because it’s so good. I got the Laffite Skillet which has crawfish. So good!!! This time it came with shrimp and not crawfish. I brought this to the attention of our server and he tried to convince me that’s how it comes. No that’s not how it comes and that’s not in the description. I wasn’t going to send it back but wanted to let the know so the mistake doesn’t happen to someone else. He was firm on his belief that’s how it comes. Also forgot my biscuit and never offered coffee refills. So disappointed so much so that we didn’t go back for our normal second trip during our yearly visit. So disappointed:(
Milton Watts
We stopped here for an early dinner. We had the Taste of New Orleans and the Shrimp Scampi. The food was excellent. The issue we had was the service. The waitress was very nice, but we never got a refill on our drinks, not once. Then we had to get the hostess so we could get our check. Once our watress brought our food order she never returned to the table.
David Hubbs
Excellent food and service. Frank treated us like royalty for my sons birthday diner. Would highly recommend.
Ramona Riley
Great service and great food. The beignets weren't quite what you would expect (a bit fluffy) but they were still very good! I didn't get a picture of it but you should definitely get the crab cake, it was delicious! It was a great last breakfast on my trip!
Julio Falcon
Definitely a great place to experience Southern cooking.... catfish is awesome.. service is great. William was are server, he was very informative explain all the dishes. Manager are attentive, and aware of all the clients. Drinks are on par...
Bathroom are clean. Come check them out they are very welcoming and nice.
Nick Stafford
Thank you, Frank S. for a fantastic experience eating at Coterie! The jambalaya, gumbo, and shrimp pasta were wonderful and the drinks were good. The ambiance was nice, but overall Frank made the difference.
Whitney Parr
Frank was amazing! The food is the best I've had. The staff was attentive and friendly. I loved everything.
Everything Arie
I went here for my bday dinner! My sister and I had a good time! I got the fried pickles and she got boudin balls and oysters for appetizers and everything was good! I can’t remember the name of my drink but it was good and strong! I had chicken pasta for dinner and it was good! Our server wasn’t terrible but he wasn’t the best. It was rather hot in the restaurant and that’s my only complaint. I’d definitely go back
Shruti Sharma
Gator bites were so delicious! The service is fast and polite!
Brian Kondás
Great food, friendly staff. Had a local beer and chargrilled oysters on one visit and the Louisiana Omelette paired with their spicy Cajun Bloody Mary for brunch the next day. Everything was delicious!
Leah Ailey
Our server Joseph H was amazing! Very attentive and cheerful. Our appetizers and happy hour drinks were perfect. The bread pudding was the best I’ve ever had! Thank you so much!
Craig Forry
The food, drinks and dessert were outstanding. One of the best char grilled oysters, in town. Gumbo and étouffée were great. Bread pudding, incredible. Prices were reasonable and our server, Joe H, was simply, the best 👍🏻.
Austin Westover
Upscale vibe with very decent prices. My large chicken and sausage gumbo was only $11 for dinner. That.. around here is hard to find.
Drew Copeland
Great service and the food was excellent. Also has an amazing breakfast that no one seems to know about. Ate there for dinner one night and breakfast the next as other places had lines and they didn't. There should be lines for this place it's so good.
Destiny LaGarce
Lovely environment in a nice part of town. The food was decent- though I was disappointed by the firecracker shrimp appetizer being soggy, the étouffée and the gumbo were both tasty. They don’t skimp on drink pours and I had a delicious lemon drop. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was lackluster. He never introduced himself with his name and wasn’t forthcoming with any information about happy hour, food or menu suggestions and was unclear about answering questions. I would come back but hope for a better waitstaff member in the future.
Jolicia St Louis
The BEST brunch we’ve had in New Orleans!! We sat at the bar and Dawn and Juan made our experience even better! We recommend this place to everyone. Oh and be sure to try the French 007 drink, Dawn makes it the best
N Shuford
I love the atmosphere!!! This was my second visit and I wasn't disappointed. They have great raw oysters. The oysters are clean and tasty. We ordered a fried oyster poboy that my nephew loved. My brother had the jambalaya and liked it but thought the portion size was more suited for an appetizer.
Amy Bramley
Delicious food. I had one of their samplers and it did not disappoint gives you a little of everything new olreans is known for
Ronda “MrsPassion2019” Tates
The food and service was excellent. For my 1st time LA visiting this was a good food choice. The owner/manager was very pleasant as was our server. . We will return.
Brandy Thomas
I had the seaside skillet. It was kind of dry, but it was good. My friends started there food was ok, but did like the pancakes. The service was good.
Adam Hyman
My wife and I enjoyed the food, drinks and service at this restaurant so much! Our server Joe was awesome.
Authentic delicious gumbo, jambalaya, oysters on the 1/2 shell…and more.
Rebecca Thoms
We couldn’t find our waitress half the time, and the gumbo was so salty. The drinks are heavy on the liquor. Cajun egg rolls were great. Etoufee was perfect.
Keisha
The restaurant was amazing. The service was excellent and our server went out of his way to make sure we were happy. We asked for a crab cake sandwich, and it wasn't on the menu and he went to the kitchen to see if they could make it for us, and he also suggested that we put a fried green tomato on it that just topped the whole meal off. We also tired the alligator and it was deliciously seasoned just right. It was a great restaurant and an amazing experience.
Alex S. Hall
My mom and I had reservations at another restaurant but I’m glad we came here instead. We shared the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer. I had the shrimp po boy for my enteee and mom had the taste of New Orleans for hers (the etouffee was amazing). The next time I’m in New Orleans, Coterie will definitely be on my itinerary :)
Marisa Gray
This is the 2+2+2. It was delicious. The bacon jam burger is also something that’s worth trying. This restaurant also offers happy hour specials.
G. Scott
Stopped at Coterie Nola for dinner it was terrific. Have the Crawfish et tu fe or the Jambalaya. They are both excellent. Go see Michonne at the bar, she will take care of you and feed you like you were sittin at her kitchen table.
Roberta Brewer
They were recommended to us by our hotel porter, and Im so glad we went. the food was excellent and the service was impeccable. We loved everything we ate (the etouffee was probably our favorite (we need the recipe...wink wink!) will definitely add them to our list of places to return to next time we are in town
ANA MARIA Diaz
I will be back anytime I'm in NOLA! LOVED the charbroiled oysters! The shrimp & crawfish Etouffee was very good. Lunchtime service was a bit slow but it was worth the wait. Prices were reasonable too.
Lisa Garofalo
Food was excellent. We had burgers and club sandwiches. You’ve got to try the creole tomato sauce - it’s amazing. JJ was an awesome waiter. We’ll be back.
Kelsey Markley
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing atmosphere. I wish we could recommend a dish, but you really can’t go wrong. We loved everything we had.
Josh Page
The food and service was amazing… but the fried chicken sandwich, that thing was sent from God to our tables. I don’t think the chef and waiters can take credit for something sent directly from God… this is why I went with 5 stars instead of 6.
Lisa Brat Martinez
Relaxing atmosphere with nice views of New Orleans. Fresh tasting food, great service and friendly faces. Beautifully designed, great for large groups or couples only. Bar service was prompt with TVs close by.
Russel Weich
🤤
What an amazing experience in Nola! Our crew has stopped at any and every place to grab a drink/eat, this place is at the top! Table for 12 was no problem at all for Carl or the chefs. The food and customer service was top notch!
We will be back fo sho!
Stop in and ask for Carl. Tell em some crazy Tampa friends sent you in! You won’t be disappointed!
Oh and it’s the best bloody I have had in Nola so far!
Ange Amichia
Crab cake pasta was really good. Tons and flavor and filling.
Yao Lo
We’ve been in New Orleans for 4 days, eating at different restaurants for lunch and dinner. This place is by far the very best!!! The service was prompt, the food was fantastic!
Timothy Keane
Gumbo and Cajun egg rolls were awesome. Bartender very nice. And the bar itself had great atmosphere.
Yiran Gong
BEST schrimp Pasta!!! Such a hidden gem!!
Christina Steel (Katanasnk)
The food here is absolutely what I wanted on this city. From the red beans and rice to the crab cakes (best I've ever had), through a delicious Po'boy and a great Cajun Bloody Mary, everything was great!
Jennifer Sims
This Black Owned Establishment is amazing. The food is sooooo delicious. Our Servers AJ and Frank was awesome and attentive. I am definitely coming back
Jaleesa Smith
Stumbled upon this gem. Great food and drinks. The crab cake is fantastic. Served on top of a fried green tomato, it’s an excellent combo. The shrimp etouffee is some of the best in NOLA. Awesome po’boys too. Beautifully built bar with fresh raw oysters.
V. Cameron Flemming
Our server Jeff was an unusual fellow in great way. Highly recommend the Crawfish Etoufee and the catfish Napoleon. For appetizer try the blackened Alligator, so good.
Jerry E.
Went for breakfast. We sat and was promptly forgotten about. Ordered, got drinks and forgotten about. Tables that came in well after us got their food and our waiter came over to check on us. no food, No refills on the drinks yet, I think he realized what had happened. He made it right. Got my coffee refills, Breakfast came up shortly thereafter and with a side of free beignets. Check reflected the screw up. They discounted things generously (Without prompting by us) and we were happy with the meal and service once things got corrected. We'd go again for sure. Well done.
Billowy Black Unicorns
Service was alittle slow but we were in no rush. Food was amazing. Some of my daughter's favorite gumbo while we were in town
Edwina S
What a lovely find. Fantastic service. Great oysters. Really good hurricane. Delicious food (hello beef debris po-boy). Not to mention phenomenal light bananas foster cheesecake.
Drew Walsman
The food was pretty solid here. The jambalaya was a bit dry, the red beans and rice was rich and creamy. The staff was mostly friendly, but seemed a bit preoccupied with training a new member. The restaurant itself was minimilstic but chic. The prices were from affordable to a bit expensive.
Ann Terry
Great food and drinks. Very friendly staff. Ate there almost every night of our stay. Good happy hour.
Chuck Hodge
Sat at the bar, john’s service was excellent. Boudin balls were a great app, shrimp and grits was different, lumpy but real good. Can’t wait to come back
Erica L
Amazing!! The food was so wonderful we went here twice during our 5 day stay. We had jambalaya and gumbo. Our bartender the first time was super busy but still on his game. Our waitress the second time was super friendly.
Kelsie Andrews
Breakfast/lunch here is too busy for just one bartender. Great food, but watched the Management staff continuously walk in and out of the bar and failed to notice how behind the bartender was.
Tiquesa “Ty” Wilkerson
Staff, food, and atmosphere were amazing! Will definitely dine again on my next trip to NO!

The service of the hostess daughter, bartender mom combo was a knock-out. Instantly accommodated, my wife and I were seated and within minutes our half dozen oysters and our Sizerac were served to perfection. Look recently renovated and very nice. $$ and extremely friendly.
Stan Perry
5 stars is not enough stars to describe just how good this place is. We had breakfast and dinner today (14 Mar 2022). The food and service is over the top. Dawn and Ramona are the best servers ever! And let's not forget Ronnie, who was hard at work at the bar shucking oysters. I highly recommend the 2+2+2 oyster appetizer. What a hidden gem!
J P
Amazing experience! Best charbroiled oysters! Amazing bourbon pecan pie!! Two highlights on our culinary tour after a disaster experience next door at Mr Ed's Oyster Bar. Service also was impeccable. No comparison and can't wait to experience again on our return.
Gail Nordlof
I had the "taste of N.O." The gumbo was excellent - just enough spice, as was the jambalaya, plus red beans and rice. This restaurant was suggested by the concierge and it didn't disappoint. Smallish, but very nice and clean and great drinks and food. Happy we went!
Robin Merideth
Best French toast my husband has ever eaten and that is saying something! I tried it and it was delicious! Soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. I had the crab cakes Benedict and is was just as delicious. We had great service! Katie, a follow Akron University Zip was attentive and very friendly. This restaurant was suggested to us from our concierge at the Omni Riverfront and it did not disappoint. We will visit again when we return to New Orleans. I highly recommend!
Andrea Dinosaur
This was by far the best meal we had in NOLA. The food is spectacular and the service is fantastic. Employees Nat, Frank, Joe and Christian made our experience memorable. Our swamp tour guide, Luca from Cajun Encounters told us to get the Gator Bite and the blackened redfish. He was right, I can’t recommend it enough! Also get the Cajun egg rolls. You won’t be disappointed.
kaitlyn cook
This was the first place I ate at in New Orleans on a girl's trip. The hostess was very kind and went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful experience. My favorite thing we ordered was the New Orleans Egg Roll! But all of the food was excellent!
Rebecca Young
We randomly walked into Coterie for breakfast on our way somewhere else. I am so glad we did! Absolutely delicious! The server recommended the crab cake and eggs over a fried green tomato - best crab cake I’ve ever eaten! They are made in house and full of crab - not so much breading and filler. Even better than the more expensive crab cakes I had a few days earlier at a more well known restaurant.
Louie Lugo
I sat at the bar. I got two good drinks, a Sazerac and a Hurricane. I ordered the shrimp etouffee, which was okay but not awesome. The shrimp were small and not plentiful, but it still had a good taste. I liked the service and the vibe. Would recommend.
Mark Bilbraut
One of the best home town places in New Orleans. Tammy, Jesse, Austin are the best!!
Tammy makes the best Expresso Martini in town!! Make sure you ask her for one!!
Can’t wait to come back!
Deisai
Tried their seafood platter, changed to blackened with vegetables and rice, taste very good.
Yan Cong
We went for Oyster happy hour. Couldn’t be more satisfied. The oyster bar is just beyond words.
Branden Gentry
I cannot say enough great things about this location. From the minute we walked in we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our server was incredible, she was so friendly and helpful. Our drinks were on point, the oysters were the best I've had. The shrimp platter was enough for 2 people. The jambalaya was very good. I will definitely be back again.
Rebecca Gee
Delicious fare, very fast service. Loved every bite
T F
Had a delicious dinner here while staying at the hotel next door. The Boudin balls and Cajun eggrolls were very good, highlighting the meat and seafood flavors unlike many places where the fried outside is overpowering. The gumbo and jumbalaya were tasty and filling. The restaurant itself is clean, and the staff is very amicable. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.
Lou Brownlee
The food was great. The service was good and the bathroom looked and smelled like your mother cleaned it!!
Sarah Walsh
Ate here multiple times on our trip. Loved the breakfast and the employees were all super nice.
Latitude Pilot
Went for an early dinner with the family. The service was fast and friendly. The food was really good. Sampled the 2+2+2, best oysters we’ve had in a long time! Nicely done.
Lindsay Ringuette
Excellent food and outstanding service. This was the first place we ate in NOLA and it set the bar very high. I couldn't believe how incredibly friendly the staff were (especially Frank) and their recommendations were great - get a Po Boy and Oysters here!
Brian Leininger
Awesome Oysters! Been coming to New Orleans for over 6 years and this place is one of my new favorites. Ask for Lawrence to shuck your oysters. Also try the Blackened Gator.
Sarah Chapa
Everything we ate was amazing! We tried alligator for the first time and it was delicious! I loved the redfish, rice, and seasonal veggies. My husband filled up with a poboy. Our waitress was very helpful with our selections.
LaTia Scott
We came here because of the race reviews for the oysters and they are accurate! I'm only giving 3 stars because of how long we had to wait. We are first started on the wait-list, but was able to snag a space at the bar.......the experience was lackluster 😩 We sat at least 10-20 minutes without water or being acknowledged. Once we were it was on point, but I felt the need to order everything because I wasn't confident we'd be acknowledged in a timely fashion anytime soon. We ordered our drinks and apps all together. We had the amber beer and the French 007 with 2 orders of the 2+2+2 oysters and fried gator. We got the oysters first and they were amazing, but our Gator was confused for pickles and we had to wait a bit. Once we received the gators it was amazing and I would visit again. The bar isn't a place I'd look for though, maybe a table is best.......not sure
sue schutz
Amazing food, wonderful bartender- Tammy! We visited twice on our 2 day vacation to New Orleans! Grilled oysters scrumptious...as well as everything else we had.
Aslyn Brandt
From the start of our experience it was nothing short of amazing. After being turned away from a few restaurants for not having a reservation Gloria sat us quickly and checked in with her staff to make sure they were doing okay before adding us- which shows true respect for her co-workers! Frank was truly awesome- personality, service and professionalism was top notch! I will definitely be back and bring all my friends and family to see Frank! Thank you!
Tiffany Gaynor
Delicious Cajun egg rolls! They were SO good! Along with a few good drinks… we sat at the bar and it was in the middle of a shift change. There was a lot going on and the bartender starting his shift was extremely rude to several people out of the stress of taking over. They were nice to us once it slowed down but the way they talked to people was really unfortunate. They had about 5-6 parties come in and after they greeted them with rudeness they left. A lot of business lost but when it slowed they really made good connections with us and others. Entree was not good. I had the roast beef po boy and it said it had gravy and debri…. Absolutely no gravy whatsoever. It could’ve been so good if it was not so dry. My husband had the redfish and he said it was okay. Not the best but it was alright. We spent $100 on lunch and had a lackluster meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CAJUN EGG ROLLS. But that’s it as far as what we tried. Really wish it would’ve been better.
Phyllis Plasky
We loved it here. Did happy hour, dinner and breakfast. Great place!
stephanie field
The Cajun Eggrolls were amazing and a highlight. All of Lionel's recommendations were well worth a try, he was so friendly and made the experience here even better (if he's around make sure to ask what he recommends!!)
Eric Ko
Great food and décor. I had the delicious crabcake pasta, bread pudding, and the meatball (sorry, I don't remember the name). The girl who took my takeout order was very friendly and provided great service! I tipped her for the takeout. I am going to take my family to eat here and recommend it to my friends and family.
Carl
Had breakfast here and it was delicious. Everything was so fresh and well made. I was stuffed when I left and ready to walk around.
Mz Pretty To You
Found this little gem while sight seeing in NOLA.. every morsel was absolutely delicious..🤗🤗 i devoured the potatoes before i took the shot 😶 still enjoyed every bite. The server kept a great attitude the entire meal..the atmosphere was welcoming..open and lit by the sun. …
Dmytro Buldakov
Fine interior and great food. Best crawfish etouffee I had in NOLA, best blackened gator bites, and cajun eggrolls (can’t properly evaluate, ‘coz these were only Cajun egg rolls I ever had, but they where really good). Even my wife like it ;-)
Mizz. Dee
The shrimp po'boy was good. Yum...Waiter was knowledgeable and friendly which means a whole lot to me. Suggestions were on point. Very fresh
Christina Burghardt
This is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The shrimp etouffee was a stand out but it was all amazing. The best part of our meal was our server Frank. He was funny and so on top of everything. He made our experience top notch. Do yourself a favor and stop in to see him. You won't regret it.
Karen Bablet
+ Amazing super nice, friendly, effective waiter (the best service I've ever had, we were so lucky)
+ Nice alcohol quantity in their "gator bite" cocktail
+ Table of 5, we were seated quickly with not much wait and we all had a wonderful moment
Shady Assassa
Ordered GrubHub for pick up. At restaurant they couldn't find order. Finally found it, waited for an order that was incomplete and missing items. The restaurant itself looks nice and had good decor, but organization is lacking and the food itself was just ok. Unfortunately I probably wouldn't return here the next time I'm in town.
Ellen Ray
So many good things to report! We've been there twice - it's just a couple doors down from where we are staying. First trip included two great Sazeracs, great beers, an order of crawfish etouffee, and the NOLA burger. All great. Expectational etouffee - light, creamy, slightly smokey. Second trip started with Sazeracs and evolved into dinner via my new favorite thing: chargrilled oysters (took a pic after I downed a few). I ordered half a dozen. The sauce was flavorful, the oysters were fresh, plump and clean, and it all came together in an addictive appetizer. We then moved to crab cakes and crab and corn bisque. Both were also very good - fresh, light and flavorful. On top of that, the staff are great - friendly, informative, and great at what they do, particularly the back bar staff!

My wife and I ate here after being told we'd have to wait an hour and a half the more popular Restaurant and Oyster Bar around the corner on Canal St. We walked right in and got a table. Frank, our server, was unbelievably friendly and helpful right from the start. This was our first meal out in New Orleans and he advised us on drinks and appetizers right from the start. My wife got a traditional New Orleans cocktail and didn't really like it. Frank took it off our bill and brought wife another cocktail that she enjoyed. We ordered Oysters, Blackened Gator, the Taste of New Orleans and the Shrimp and Grits. All the food was amazing! The Shrimp and Grits were especially delicious. I would highly recommend this place and there is no way the more popular place around corner could be any better. We were very grateful that we were able to get in a eat right away but I have to believe that this place should have an hour and a half wait every night. Thank you Coterie for such a great meal!!
Robert Wagner
Stopped here with a group of three others for a quick breakfast and it was delicious. There was quite a bit of wait, but not many restaurants were open because of the holiday. Grits were out of this world and the service was very friendly.
Dennis Yurchevich
Great service. Amazing food. Loved the atmosphere. Really enjoyable gluten-free options!
**Edit** Would love to come back but that's a long trip from Western Canada! Lol
Kendra Balliet
Redfish is delicious!
Great atmosphere! Had chicken gumbo, too. Just the right amount of heat and seasoning without being overpowering.
Grace Izehi
The service was good, but unfortunately I got food poisoning after eating oysters during the oyster happy hour. I would try to be careful next time you decide to get raw oysters here.
Amy Akers
Best oysters!!! ... especially if Lawrence is working... great bar service too ... bar is nicer with the doors open ... you might walk right by if they aren't ;)
Chris Wiley
A great great restaurant with oyster bar and cocktails. Would eat here again. I had a New Orleans sampler that had Gumber, Shrimp etouffee, and Jambalaya. Delicious!
Pamela Gonzalez
We were just looking for a place to have a drink on a hot day in the Quarter when we stumbled in to Coterie. We had delicious drinks and excellent food, incredible service and conversation.
Sam Wurth
Cool with dogs if they stay on the sidewalk. Great happy hour! $3 paradise Park on draft. Server is really friendly. Good place!
Adun Okuwobi
Food was great, our servers Justin and Lexi were better.
Rhonda the manager that was at the host stand made our stay uncomfortable and unwelcoming. She made us wait for an hour for no reason.
Thankfully the servers made everything better
c.
Good shrimp & grits, bloody mary, froed pickles, fried green tomatoes and bread pudding!
Deborah Neumann
Best shrimp and grits. Good service. Want to go back when I have room for dessert.
Frank T
Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Frank was a terrific server. We had a shrimp poorboy sandwich, blackened shrimp and shrimp and pasta. All were superb. The portions were ample, flavor profiles were just marvelous and the price was very nice. Also, the drinks were ample, strong and tasty. A value and delicious. We loved it and we'll be coming back soon!
Julia Johnson
We had an excellent time at Coterie. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious.
Okeefe Family
Service was great. Hostess was a little cold but our server was out of this world. Fried pickles were a great choice! Sausage jambalaya was 8/10. Po Boy was ok. Fries were luke warm but what do you expect.. fries and creole dont go together.
Caitlyn Emerson
Food was the best we got while in New Orleans. Service was great.
Nathan
Great service. Amazing Po-Boy. I got an "extra napkins" loaded with ham, turkey, and roast beef de bris.
John Albert
Fantastic dinner. Great service! Jamie took care of us!! Definitely returning!!
Krys C
Amazing service, our waitress was a breath of fresh air, funny + helpful and just knew how to read the guest and handled them well. She went above and beyond with service and made it such a wonderful experience for us. The food was delicious too.
Sara North
Don't let the slew of traveling businessmen at the bar fool you- this food is absolutely legit!! The crabcake was all crab, remoulade was perfect, served on a fried green tomato. Got the combo oyster plate, called the 2+2+2. BEST oyster plate I've ever had, seriously!!!! Gumbo was okay, but the first two dishes are worth traveling hours for. 1000% recommend.
Howard Jackson
Great service, great food. The gator and the roast beef debris is especially good.
Carl C
First time having oysters and I enjoyed them. Can’t say I would eat them regularly but this was a good experience
Indiel Motton
We came here to eat with my family for dinner. I loved the food here and I got bread pudding for dessert and kept coming back until the end of my trip to get more!
Janet Swift
Great variety of oyster and excellent crab corn bisque.
Dana Richardson
Our first meal in New Orleans and it was delicious. We tried catfish, jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish Etouffe, and crab cakes. It was recommended by the concierge at the Royal St Charles Hotel. We loved it!
Suraj Kumar
Great bid sized fresh oysters and nice drinks.
Dave Kinns
I don’t normally write a review, but I had to let everyone know what an amazing restaurant Coterie is! I have been there multiple weekends during tourist season and non-tourist season and have ALWAYS had an amazing, friendly and authentic New Orleans experience. The food was fresh and exactly what we were looking for! I called ahead and they were able to handle a party of 25 people on short notice! I was blown away!! If you are visiting New Orleans and are looking for GREAT food and reasonable prices, Coterie is the place to be!!!
True Reviews
food was delicious, staff was great, and the restaurant itself is very cute and in a good location. my friend had the jambalaya (so good!) and I had the mahi-mahi tacos (also very good!). it’s a little pricy but i had a good experience and would go again.

This place was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I live in the southwest but was in town for a business trip, and this place seemed like a good spot to try some good local food before I go home, and boy was I correct! The host was great and got me seated quickly, and Joe H, my server, was fantastic - he was super friendly, provided excellent service, and helped me pick out the best stuff on the menu. Pro tip - try the blackened alligator bites (tastes a bit like chicken!) and the Catfish Napoleon with the jambalaya on the side. You will NOT be sorry!
Tajh Aashil
They have the best firecracker shrimp po'boy! 🍤 And the hurricanes 🌀!!! …
Michael Santa Maria
This place is absolutely amazing! During the week they have half price raw oysters which are a phenomenal value at $6 for 6. All I can say is that the food here is off the hook. My wife had jambalaya which was a 10 out of 10. I had blackened redfish with shrimp etouffe which was also a 10 out of 10. Even more amazing was the level of service I received from our outstanding waiter. This place is very kid friendly as well. Next time I am in New Orleans, I will definitely pay this place another visit.
Jerry Toomey
Fried catfish entree was off the chain!(no pic)
Beignets were nice and crispy.
Bread pudding wad delicious.
Kenny Cornett
As an out of towner this was recommended by an Uber driver. Totally amazing food and great atmosphere. Save yourself from the pizza and chicken nightmare that is Bourbon St and go over a few blocks to this gem. Way happy and will return next time I'm in town.
J.L.
Service was friendly, personable and prompt. Food and cocktails are very good; first time having a Sazerac, and it was lovely. People at our table loved the shrimp and grits, and their chargrilled oysters are flavorful, and not overly salty. It's a great destination for lunch.
Sarah Myers
I cannot praise this restaurant enough!! It is nothing short of A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! Frank was our server and was just as amazing!!! So friendly and personable. How could we have known he has a special history with a great football player with our favorite NFL team?? Just made the experience that much more unforgettable! We literally could have sat there all afternoon sipping on Gator Bites. (The drink). The atmosphere was perfect. The food was perfect. The drinks were perfect. The service was perfect. We will definitely be visiting again!! Thanks again for the great experience!!!
Michael Purnell
Good food and service.
Just dropped in as we were passing and were attracted by the happy hour poster.
We were pleased with the food service and cost.
Joyce Curry
From the staff at the Front Bar to the food, this place is phenomenal! Pictured is Crab Au Gratin with toast points and Corn and Crab Bisque.
youareyouronlyenemy
The food here was pretty bland (I tried etouffe, gumbo, and jambalaya), nothing to write home about. However, I recommend the Sazerac cocktail.
Erin Sullivan
Great food!! I didn’t think breakfast at an oyster bar would be so delicious.
Fast, friendly service (even for Cowboys fans). The drinks are delicious too! Try the milk punch
Nereida Burgos
This place is great because it has a bar that you can sit at as long as there are available seats (no reservation needed) and the restaurant is outside of Bourbon Street. The oysters were great; we also had the Tour of New Orleans and it was perfect for those of us that want a little bit of everything (red rice and beans!). They also have po'boys on the menu. The sandwiches are huge. Overall we were happy to have stumbled upon this spot and would totally go back!
Patrick Lemieux
Went for dinner, drinks were good food was even better. Had half a dozen charbroiled oysters, excellent flavor. Eggrolls were amazing especially with the dipping sauce. Main dishes were shrimp Alfredo and seafood gumbo. Shrimp Alfredo was light and flavorful, gumbo was proper. We’ll be going again next time in New Orleans. Price point fair. Our server Andre did an excellent job.
Alberto Bassi
Quite big bar restaurant, wIth Cajun cuisine. In general food is ok, even though gumbo is very good.
Nicki Ivey
The food here is amazing! We went twice on our short trip to NOLA! The Cajun egg rolls are a must have! We also had chicken pasta, oysters, and the firecracker Po Boy. Don’t forget the pecan pie and bananas foster cheesecake! You will not be disappointed!
Nancy Green
Really mixed feelings: lovely spot, some excellent food, friendly server...but a handful of problems. My Sazerac sat on the bar, in plain sight, long after other drinks were brought to the table. I finally got it myself.
Food was slow after timely appetizers (amazing grilled oysters!) and when it arrived, no lettuce or tomato on sandwich or apples in salad as promised.
Andre was polite and pleasant but not attentive. The Jambalaya was very good and gluten free.
So good food, missed opportunities for a perfect dinner.
Marmiko DeCeita
We had the opportunity to visit NOLA this past week. In search of great food we wondered into Coterie for brunch. The food, drinks, and staff did not disappoint! We were served by Tamika who was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. We loved it so much, we came back that evening for happy hour and stayed through dinner! We were then waited on by Frank, who too, gave outstanding service!! He was very chatty and knowledgeable as well!! We will make sure to come back whenever we visit NOLA. Some of our favorites were: blackened alligator, oyster shooters, shrimp etouffee, french kiss (martini), and of course the hurricane!! Stop by for a visit, you’ll be glad that you did!
Adrian Fugler
Highly recommend! Freshest oysters in the quarter. Food, service ambience undeniable. Gets you out of the notice of the quarter!
Alejandra Cantu
Love it ! Delicious food at a great price. Lovely service ❤
Matt Powell
Our favorite meal in New Orleans was here. And that is saying a lot. Friendly service. Great bar and location.
D HB
Came in slightly inebriated and hungry with a friend of 34 years. Cocktails were great, waiter was friendly and informative, and the food was really good. Shrimp were fried perfectly and well seasoned.
Nathan Huber
I got the ‘Big Easy.’ Stopped in for a quick breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised. Service was quick and friendly and food was decent!
Shal Chowdhury
The most disengaged bartender from NorCal. Food was ok....service can be better. Great place to start if visiting NOLA. This place will set the standard and make all other places better.
Ceaes Peat
Food was OUTSTANDING! Staff and management however pretty rude and impatient. Definitely can learn a thing or two about hospitality, ate here twice during my stay and same experience both times.
Matt Crichton
Great service, everyone here is very friendly and helpful. It may take a while to get food but I believe it’s worth it. The drinks are great and so is the food. Everything here is also sold at a reasonable price. Recommend greatly
Jenny Merchant
This is the most amazing place in NOLA! The service is outstanding. Fabulous Tamika with her infectiously happy demeanor greets you as you come in and creates a perfect atmosphere. The music is a flavor of blues New Orleans. Carl and joe are both friendly and very attentive. The gumbo and red beans and rice are outstanding! The Cajun egg rolls are a must try. This place is best of the best! 🥰🥰🥰
Jon Pangburn
Went for breakfast this morning. Great food, great service (Katie was awesome), great music and atmosphere. Best bloody mary so far in town. Going back tonight for dinner!
Justine Kosiorek
AJ our server was wonderful and the food was Amazing
Mari C.
Awesome food, I ordered the Seafood platter and budan balls. Both were unbelievably delicious. And the service was great!
Vinny Himes
This place was excellent, super cool and modern environment. Really good food, our waiter was awesome and made sure our drinks never got low.
D Hawk
Red fish meal was awesome right along with the oysters, and Alligator bites man o man, I was in fat boy heaven. Definitely going back
Anthony Cohen
Frank was a phenomenal server taking care of our party of nine all night. The food was amazing and I would suggest it to anyone. You have to try the gumbo and the bread pudding.
Tanya Moore
We were pleasantly surprised to find them open for breakfast since the website said they didn’t open until 11. The crab cake Benedict was wonderful. And the pancakes were huge. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed sitting by the window and people-watching while we ate. The best breakfast we had while in NOLA.
S.Nicole
The atmosphere was very rustic and appealing. The food was amazing. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo which had a nice kick to it. I ordered a small but wish I had ordered the large! I also had the blackened shrimp salad which I added blue cheese crumbles to. We had a party of 8 and our waitress was friendly, quick and attentive as well as our food came out quick considering it was a Saturday night. This was my very first time visiting New Orleans and this place definitely made it that more enjoyable.
Scott Mota
I got a gigantic shrimp Po boy that was amazing but my girlfriend didn't have the same experience with her gator Po boy. Her gator Po boy was cold and just didn't taste great and her bread was soft and mushy.
Anne Richard
Dinner was delicious and our waiter, Frank was an awesome waiter. Not only did he provide great service, he had excellent recommendations and a very fun personality. The atmosphere was sophisticated without being stuffy. Nothing cheesy about it like so many of the places closer to Bourbon St. This is a true gem in the heart of NOLA!
Lee Sha
Food was amazing! And so was our server Carl.
Dylan Joseph
Very tasty spot! Got seated and served right away. Taste of New Orleans was delish (gumbo jambalaya red beans and rice) and the blackened catfish had a very nice sauce. Also had the alligator bites which came with one of the most delicious remoulades I've ever had.
Michele Sidlasky
Great service! Came back for their oysters! Breakfast was awesome!
M. Sanders
This place was very nice. We went for breakfast. There was a 30 minute wait so we sat at the bar. The food looked amazing. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the moment they brought out our food a tiny mouse ran under my husband's feet 😳. We told the bartender and he said that when it rains heavy, they find a way inside. Noone ever came over to investigate or apologize or anything. Eventhough I was slightly disgusted, the place looked clean and the food looked amazing. We hurried to eat and got out of there.
RenOne Lab (renonelab)
Really good food . Great atmosphere. Polite waitress
O. M.
I am very big on customer service and delicious food and Food here was excellent....we initially were waiting for ruby slippers but, the wait was too long. So we walked down and saw Coterie....the establishment was calm, sexy, and inviting. The food looked amazing through the window...so we came in and did not have to wait and our server May was very sweet and accomidating....will definetly return for breakfast any time I visit N.O....
Winston Ferguson
The bread pudding is scrumptious. Jamie was a great host
TheRhinosaurus1
The food was delicious, came out quick and the drinks were strong (great price for how strong they were). The chargrilled oysters were legit the best appetizer of the night, boudin balls were also very tasty. Shrimp étouffée was really good and well seasoned. Gumbo was also very fresh and tasty. Our waiter Joseph was really nice and friendly and the overall service was excellent. This is a must if you come to New Orleans for some good Cajun food. I would definitely come back again when I come back to New Orleans!
Jacqui Okazaki
Great food! Great service. Waiter was attentive and quick to our needs. The gumbo was full of flavor and spice. Its always nice to see the wait staff interact with my child! Would definitely recommend!
Steve Harrell
Great experience. Our waiter Frank was amazing. Liked the charbroiled oysters and I am not an oyster fan. The crab au gratin was exceptional. Tried the gumbo and it was seasoned great. If you are not into the Cajun spice as much the shrimp pasta was very good but not as spicy. The chocolate peanut butter pie finished us up perfectly. Will definitely be back.
Angela Jones
I really like this place. I got the combo plate; gumbo, jambalaya and red beans and rice. All three were really good. the atmosphere is really nice. The Waiting staff is amazing and it was not crowded at all during the Essence Festival; which I loved We got a great little table right next to the window so we can look out onto the street. Next time I go to Louisiana I will definitely go back.
Yolanda Dixon
OMG……just amazing! Our waiter A.J. was EVERYTHING. From his people skills, to personalizing each table he waited on, to his remembering what each person ordered by memory. He SANG to my cousin for her birthday which was the cherry on top! Let’s not forget the food. I’m from the DMV and trying alligator was on the top of my list. I was NOT disappointed. the fried pickles were on point. Entree was great as well. So glad a local recommended this restaurant!
A M
Had a hurricane and the firecracker shrimp po boy. It was really good. It's not hot just has a nice zing. Really good on the fries too.
Naja Joes Petersen
Such a good place, and not at all expensive. Great food!!
ALESHIA BRITTANY
Bayyyyby, lol I just left Coterie and I am VERY overly please . The gumbo is to die for ! Our server Derek went above and beyond to ensure our first meal in NOLA from Miami was enjoyable. The food was so fresh and good and happy hour was amazing :)
Natasha Bruce
Had the crab cake and eggs. Crab cake was delicious and was sitting on top of a perfectly fried green tomato.
Stacy Buller
Myself and a group of girls were in New Orleans for 5 days and this restaurant was the best experience we had! Our waiter AJ was fantastic!!!
Brett O
We come to NOLA Only Once a year, come to Coterie more! Best char broiled oysters anywhere
Leo Carter
The food, drinks and atmosphere is great. Price on the menu for what the menu advertises is very reasonable. However, what's on the menu is not always what you get. I wanted the shrimp and grits. The menu says it came with jambalaya and seasoned grits. While placing my order I reiterated to the waiter "that ces with jambalaya and seasoned vegetables, right?" "Oh no. It only comes with the shrimp and grits." So I showed him the menu, pointing out the extras that supposed to ce with it. He says "it use to come with that." So they increased the price and reduced the meal? "Basically!" I still got my shrimp and grits.
b. zoppel
FANTASTIC Restaurant & Experience! I came with a very large party and they accommodated us seamlessly... Not the mention the food was incredible. The Coterie staff provided us a very memorial experience.
It was a real taste of New Orleans!
I will be coming back any time I am in town.
Edward Wells
Got the Taste of New Orleans sampler lunch. The jambalaya was average. The seafood gumbo was good. The red beans and rice was OUTSTANDING. Totally worth the price, and you get a little bit of everything. Strong drinks as well. Definitely recommend.
Show Walton
I rarely do reviews so trust me my first time here. And I recommend you going here. Everything on the menu looks amazing. We tried the chargrilled oysters, firecracker shrimp, catfish Napoleon 🔥🔥🔥🔥 will be back before we leave Jacob was my server and he was awesome. …
Jay DesForges
Amazing.
We ordered a spread.
Loved everything.
Shavon McKerchie
This restaurant did not disappoint, it was recommended by Luka our guide from the swamp tours. The food was great, but our server AJ was even better. This was our 4th day into our trip and he was by far the friendliest server we have had in NOLA.
Jessica Barrett
The staff was so friendly, & the food was wonderful!
Anja Mannel
Good breakfast, I can truely recommend the veggie omelett with fruit and scones. The pancakes are also really really good. And the staff is also really friendly!
Tim shank
We have spent the last few days hanging out in New Orleans. Our hotel recommended this restaurant and I am very glad we tried it. The food was fantastic and Frank our server was awesome thanks to Frank and the other staff for making our visit better.

My wife and I came here twice (so far) during our trip. Got the grilled oysters which are amazing, better than ACME. The crab-cakes are so good. Service was amazing. Food is some of the best in the city. Everything fresh and from scratch. Will keep coming back. Come here and you will leave happy.

If in town try this place for fresh oysters and crawfish

Manhattan cocktail was odd, no ice or garish. Food was good, service was too! The sides were almost better than the main dish

I happened to stumble on this restaurant and it was some of the best food I had during my trip. Large portions, great service. I had the Cajun alligator, shrimp and grits, and oysters Rockefeller. Delicious! My lemon drop was also good

Was looking for a some what local place that wouldn't break the pocket book for our last night. Oysters were outstanding, the menu had a generous selection of traditional NOLA food which was important for my guest who had never been in the city before. Servings were generous and delicious. Our server Lee could not have provided any better hospitality. Definitely would go back in a heart beat and the quality of their food was equal to many "famous" names at a much more affordable price.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Service was quick. Food was well seasoned, although the veggies were spicier than the jambalaya. Certain menu items are marked gluten-free which was helpful to one of our family members. While this restaurant wasn't the absolute best New Orleans cuisine it was quite tasty, not too crowded, and reasonably priced.

The food was tasty. The waiter was awesome.

Friendly staff, clean restrooms and great food.

I had the red beans and rice and a beer. It came with sausage, but it was a ridiculously small portion. The food was good, but not great. The beer was good and I had the bread pudding for dessert and it was really good! The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was very good, but the kitchen was slow to get food out and some customers left without being served. Not sure what is going on with this place, but the kitchen should not be the weak link in a restaurant.

Great restaurant away from the chaos of Bourbon Street. We found this place on the way to Jackson Square and we're glad we did! Lee the bartender was amazing; he talked us thru the menu and made some killer Old Fashions. Try the Taste of New Orleans to sample classic local fare oh and the oysters - they were delicious. Truthfully everything coming out of the kitchen looked great. 5 Stars all round!

I came to NOLA on a girl's trip and this restaurant was recommended to me by a postman. There were 6 of us that went there and was told there would be a 20 minutes wait, which we thought wasn't bad. The food was delicious, but what set the experience off was our waiter, AJ. AJ was the bomb, he had us laughing the entire time. He took our orders, from memory, got it exact, bought it out in record time. The food was piping hot, and did I say delicious. AJ even sang a special song to my granddaughter cause it was her birthday. Thanks AJ and the staff at Coterie's. I hope to visit again.

We arrived at Coterie at 7:20 pm. We didn't realize until after we sat down that they close at 8. Perhaps that's why the hostess wasn't very welcoming. In fact, I don't think she said one word to us. Maybe that's also why the service was subpar. Our server (Instead of revealing her name, I'll just call her "M" in case she was just having a really off night) took probably about 10 minutes to come greet us. My husband and I overheard her apologize to two different tables for them having to wait for things they had asked for. After those two parties (both parties of 2) left, my husband and I, plus one other couple, were the only patrons left in the dining room. She forgot to put in our order and had to come back to ask us to remind her what our order was. (She said the kitchen just didn't get it, but I'm not buying that for a minute.) Then part of my meal came out before our appetizer. It was seafood gumbo. DELICIOUS in spite of the shrimp shells I kept biting into (yuck). Then she brought my salad. And since she forgot to ask me what kind of dressing I wanted, she just brought out vinaigrette and asked if that was ok with me. And THEN my husband's food and our appetizer came out. Our alligator bites were delightful, and my husband really liked his seafood pasta as well.
We both ran out of drink and had to ask for water refills (but so did others who had been sitting near us at one point or another). Since it was past their closing time, we chose not to order any additional drinks or desserts, but I noticed the other remaining table did order one. (It was around 8:10 when they ordered it, so not crazy late.) The server brought out their check before their dessert came out, and when she did drop off their dessert, we heard her ask the gentleman if she could "go ahead and grab" his payment. He didn't even have his card out yet. I totally get that they close at 8, but geez, what happened to hospitality? Bottom line: the food is pretty good but be prepared for less-than-stellar service.

Ate here for lunch on our last day. The service was amazing. The food was extraordinary and the portions were huge compared to another restaurant down the street. Great food, and not a bad price considering the amount of food you’re served. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal to leave on. If you’re in New Orleans, you’ve got to stop by this place!

This was not only great food, but an amazing experience. The server was friendly and welcoming, joked with the kids and just made us feel right at home. The food was beyond expectations. We were looking forward to having Cajun food and this hit the spot. Must try the Charbroiled Oysters!

Loved the food almost as much as our waiter Frank!! Thank you for making our first trip New Orleans the highlight of our cross country road trip ❤ the charbroiled oysters and alligator was amazing.

Joseph was our waiter tonight, he was also the hostess and bartender! Even tho they were clearly low on staff, he was patient with each table and took his time making us feel right at home. He absolutely killed it and service was fast. He will be one of the main reasons we come back. Also, the food, straight from heaven itself! 😍 #FoodComa the shrimp was fried perfectly, it wasn’t fishy, but also wasn’t over cooked. The redfish topped with crawfish etoufee was to die for!

Me and my two girlfriends went for dinner after coming from Houston Texas. Joe was our waiter and he was excellent. He answered our questions and was very patient. He made our experience amazing. Can't wait to see him again.

I came into this place super hangry and just wanted to pick up takeout. From the second we walked in the door, we were treated warmly. At the bar, the bartender was very welcoming and talkative. He even taught us about the Bloody Mary’s that get made there! By the time we left, I was happy and relaxed. The burgers we got were great and we are already planning to go there the next time we’re in New Orleans.

The food and service was absolutely great! Alfonso T. was a very friendly waiter and a great first experience in New Orleans, made us feel very at home and kept good conversation the whole time, would recommend highly to anyone in the area as a first choice!

First time in NOLA in about ten years. This place was right by our hotel so my husband and I figured we might as well try it. The reviews are true people! This place was amazing. I got the red beans and rice, and my husband got the Coterie sampler, with etoufee, jambalaya, and gumbo. The flavors in both our entrees were phenomenal and the portions were plenty. They also have authentic New Orleans cocktails. Definitely worth it.

As busy as New Orleans was this weekend, we got in ar 5 for dinner, was able to be seated quick and food was priced good and tasted great. I felt bad as I didn't realize till way to late that I only tipped my waiter 10%.. He deserved better. Sorry kiddo!
Cathy Frasier
Oysters great, 3 times in 1 week, had breakfast and dinner also. Really good.
Shucker at front bar the best. Not one gritty sand or shell all week. Hope he and all the staff are well during this sad time. Wish I could remember his name.
Can't wait for a return trip.

Learned that 90% of restaurants in NOLA are not open after 6 on Sunday night. Having said that, this restaurant is and is very good choice. Creole based choices. Had the Napoleon, which was very flavorful fried fish with vegetables. GF had the crab cake over pasta, not much crab in the cake. Great wine selection. A great option any night of the week.

We had an awesome experience. I was visiting New Orleans with my children and was given a coupon for this restaurant. When we walked in the lady that seated us was super friendly. Our waitress, Michonne, was amazing. She was so personable, she asked all my kids their names and was so nice that my kids made pics on their menu and gave them to her when we left. We ate the king club, shrimp pasta and my kids ate hamburgers. Great all around experience.

Nice food! Try the char grilled oysters

We went for happy hour. 1.50 martinis. They were great. Very nice relaxed place. We had Kay for our server. She was super nice. We had the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer. So delicious! Stopped just for appetizers and drinks. Great experience! New chef is awesome.
