Reviews of Clesi's Seafood Restaurant & Catering
Authentic experience and gem just minutes from the heart of New Orleans.
Tasty crawfish and shrimp, seasoned to perfection. Couldn’t get enough of it. The jambalaya fries are a MUST-TRY! A great complement and side.
Wonderful service from our waitress, who helped explain how much people normally order. Loved the outdoor dining experience as well.
Enjoyed the Coolinary menu. outside eatery. When we originally booked our seats we did not know that all of the seating was outside. they do have a lot of fans and that cooled everything down as well as kept any possible pest away.
We tried a few of their crafted cocktails and they were all very good.
-> Watch out for the obligatory 5% charge they are going to add to your bill for the kitchen staff. If you tip 20% you are effectively paying 25%
I tried the parmesan broiled oysters. It was a little too much cheese on there for me but the flavor was good. my appetizer was the spinach artichoke dip and it had a lot of spinach… Not too much cream. Delicious
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Really good crawfish! The hostess was so nice and accommodating! We didn’t have to wait long at all for a table. The crawfish was hot and delicious! The crawfish ragoon and chicken wings were a great appetizer. Their happy hour has a lot of options for drinks wine and beer. Definitely worth a stop in!
Our server, Missy was amazing. She was so kinda and helpful. We enjoyed our food so much. This is always our last place to visit before home, because it’s the best. Don’t miss out! Get out of the French quarter and go try the real good stuff!
This was an unexpected great find! After trying to get crawfish at two other places unsuccessfully, wound up here. What a great place for out of town guests to experience a crawfish boil!!!! The menu was VERY limited so we saw a lot of people decide to go elsewhere.
We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day!
Delicious Seafood at a great price. What's not to love! Clesi's offer a great Crawfish boil and very good Po' boy. We sat inside near the bar and our server was kind and very helpful with recommending the amount of crawfish to order, and how best to eat them. I look forward to my next visit. 5.0
Crawfish Rangoons, amazing. Jambalaya, to die for. This place has carved itself into this nook and is always busy. You can complain about a wait but if you are in NOLA and you aren’t waiting, it isn’t worth it. This place is great, highly recommend and props to the Chef and the Boil Pit, none stop business and happy (full bellied) patrons. Keep it up, we’ll be back!
Great food, fantastic service. Loved every bite and so glad we finally got to be here after seeing it on Try Guys! The boudin was the perfect spicy and to follow up with a shrimp po-boy and fried shrimp... then side of crawfish Mac and cheese and jambalaya... omg so happy and FULL.... parking was not the best but worth the walk!
Came for Valentine’s Day, crawfish were excellent flavor! Still kinda small. Service was amazing. Boiled shrimp were amazing. And the side of catfish. Would recommend anytime!
Staff was really friendly with our to-go order; thanks to BREE who helped me figure out what to get.
Crawfish were great. We can eat a grand total of one pound between Ben and I. The Jambayala fries were GREAT but it was a mistake to get them as a to-go order. They were a solid mass by the time we got back to eat them. Grilled chicken sandwich was underwhelming.
Very cute in house environment upon pickup. Loved the vibe.
In my last day in New Orleans I ordered the Boiled Platter… it was amazing! I’ve never tried crawfish before, I love seafood and I was really craving for this! I was kind of disappointed for other meals that were okay but too overpriced for being such a touristic place. However, this platter was the opposite! It was so worth it! For $19 you get this amount of food! Not only the quantity but also the quality! I totally recommend this place for anyone who is visiting New Orleans and is craving for crawfish!
Great place for a boil! We did the boil with the fried seafood platter, crawfish rangoons, green beans, fries & onion rings. Everything was good, the sausage in the boil was really good and huge (don't let the photo fool ya), rangoons were also a fan favorite. They had a great outside area as well where you could see them doing the boils.
I went here on Sunday, went around 5pm and there was a line already outside the gates so I figured they must be really good so I waited about an hour! I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time. Anyways my crawfish rating out of 10 Peeling/8.0 Size/8.6 and Flavor/7.4 on the first order was so good I figured I'll order 2lbs more but it didn't come out the same, almost zero spice and hard to peel this time 4/10 it had dropped, drink prices are kinda overpriced but they do serve burgers fries for those not wanting sea food, will try this place again.
Best crawfish I’ve ever had in my life and a fun atmosphere. Was the perfect end note for a long weekend in New Orleans! Bri is the best server in the world please give her a raise.
We stayed close by, I wanted a seafood boil, so we popped in. The food and service were top notch. Pricing was more than fair. We had the boudin bites, which were awesome. I had a shrimp and crab boil with mushrooms and garlic. It was perfect. Cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. This was easily the best boil I’ve ever had. The boiled garlic was a great complement, and the boiled mushrooms had just enough of a spicy kick to satisfy a spice-lovers palate.
The restaurant was pretty empty when we went (mid-afternoon, immediately after a rainstorm), but you can tell that the setting and environment are fun. It’s mostly covered outdoor seating. The smells when you walk by the outdoor kitchen punch you in the face in the best way. 👍
The food was delicious and that Louisiana Punch was GREAT! Service was good with the exception of my card was charged for the wrong table. I was assured that the money would be refunded by the next day and it actually showed credited back to my account the same day.
Absolutely amazing crawfish, great first time experience! They gave us a crash course in eating crawfish, we were pros by the time we were done. So flavorful and spicy, can't wait to come back down for more.
I love this place so much I’ve celebrated two birthdays there.
I get the seafood boil for two and I feast on it by my darn self because it’s my birthday.
I think it’s gonna become a tradition to spend my birthday at Clesi’s from now on. This place is the bomb!
This place was always packed when I would try to go but Mondays opened next door so I finally got my chance. It did not disappoint! Catfish and oysters were perfect and the crawfish smelled really good. A little pricey but for the amount of food I got it was worth it. I will be coming back with family next time. Thanks!
Delicious food, friendly service and staff! If you're in the outdoor dining area you can see them cooking the grilled oysters and boils which was really cool. The crawfish seafood boil is a must have!! The best I've ever had!!
Best crawfish in the area compared to what you get in the French Quarter and other areas. This is in more of a suburban type area. Shrimp was also great! Fried Broccoli on point! This is a must stop for fresh seafood. Crawfish is fresh and alive when boiled right in your view!
Literally the best crawfish I have ever had! You can see the crawfish be prepared, so you know it is fresh. The corn was really good too. We ordered a side of their roasted vegetable and again, best I have ever had... I am sad I live so far away lol. We ordered the $19 seafood boil and it was plenty for 2 people. We didn't even finish. Free street parking
I am one of the most picky catfish eaters on the planet because I grew up in Missouri where we get them straight out of the river, and this was killer catfish. Jarvis boils like no other, Morgan was so nice, and Dusty was one of the best servers ever. I 100% recommend this place!
WOW. If you go *anywhere* in NOLA, make it Clesi's. If you can't walk, it's worth the Uber ride. The food is incredible. Jess from the catering staff gave us a custom tutorial on eating Blue Crab like a professional, and Dusty is the best server I've ever had. Get a little of everything: we had the crawfish Rangoon's, blue crab, oysters all different ways, catfish with jambalaya, and boudin balls. Can't wait to come back ✨
Nice and accommodating servers. But not everything we ordered came out. We had to remind them. And some of the oysters Bienville didn't have sauce or crawfish. Overall it was a positive experience and the crawfish was well seasoned.
I’m not a seafood person but came because my son wanted to try the Seafood boil and being in New Orleans i am will to try anything at least once boy was I surprised that I actually loved everything I ate here . (We didn’t get a picture of all the other food)
We love clesi’s. It’s easily some of the most affordable and best tasting seafood in MidCity. (I’m NOLA native, my husband is from Houma, Cajun, and a chef.)
I had to give them 4 stars for small stuff. Salad wasn’t my favorite. The Po’boy could be a Mayo poboy. Way heavy on the Mayo. I scraped it off and it was great. Maybe just ask for light Mayo if you order one. I highly recommend them, just ask for light Mayo.
Amazing, Ground Breaking, Never been done before.
Best damn thin-fried catfish this side of the Mississippi river. The crawfish boil is the best in the city!
Yummy fried oysters w/onion rings had a flakey, crispy breading. The oysters were dripping juices and the sauce was a creamy spice. Excellent!
This place has some of the freshest crawfish I've had. When they recommended we try the award winning fried catfish, you don't hesitate. Fluffy and delicate with just the right amount of spice.
I don't think I can describe my love for Clesi's in one Yelp review, but I'll have to try! Clesi's is a staple of our New Orleans life. They have a delicious, reliable seafood boil and a beautiful patio. There hosts and managers are always so helpful and friendly. They are extremely dog friendly and work with us to make sure our dog is comfortable. We always get boiled crawfish with corn, sausage, potatoes, and garlic (you have to get the garlic!!) And it's consistently spicy and salty with big crawfish, no matter when in the season you visit. This visit, we also got the boudin bites which were good too. They have a great local beer selection too. We love coming to Clesi's and taking our visitors here!
Me and my boyfriend had dinner there.
The clawfish was fine.
He ordered fried catfish, it wasn't good. He didn't like it.
The clawfish queso dip, the fries are different from what we normally had. The queso was good.
We ended up coming back twice in one day! The seafood is great your can here them boiling and frying the food fresh made to order. I would recommend the fried wonton... Outdoor seating and dog friendly!
Chose Clesi’s to cater a lunch for a client in the city and they did an excellent job. Everyone was very impressed by the quality and taste! We’ll be back for crawfish!
Atmosphere: Nice local spot away from your typical Bourbon St.
Food: Crawfish was very good and seasoned all the way to the inside. Also they didn't have all that seasoning dumped on the outside and didn't need it. Sausage & corn good. Potatoes probably should have been cut in half to have soaked up some seasoning.
Service: staff very attentive, Jasmine made sure everything was correct and corrected things that weren't without any problem or debate.
The food is incredible! Best fried catfish you'll ever eat, perfectly boiled crawfish, plus jambalaya cheese fries? And that bread pudding will make you slap your momma AND dem!
It's my first time to have boiled crawfish, and they didn't fail my expectations!! Great spice and flavor, really good price as well! If you're looking for great seafood, you should visit this place!
Very good seafood especially the crawfish! The service got a little bit slow due to a lot of catering order but the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and made sure I got my food at the end and with a discount.
Wow. Really yummy. Got the jambalaya with shrimp 🦐skewers and wow. Amazing. The shrimp was big, juicy, and perfect. The jambalaya flavor was on point. Wow. Service was nice, friendly, amazing. Yum. No bad things. Should’ve gotten the crawfish because it looked like everyone got that but oh well🤷♀️. This was still amazing. Would recommend.
We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Hostess was friendly and gave us some local knowledge on way to table. There were 5 of us in our group and most of us had crawfish boil. We enjoyed the food but the service was the worst I've had in years. I worked as a waitress for over 10 years and know the ins and outs of good service.
Our order of fries never arrived even after asking about them half way through our meal. Had to ask another waitress for our drinks because our food had arrived and 5 mins into meal still no drinks. Our server was too busy flirting with other staff to bother to look after our table as witnessed.
I went to several highly rated places for boiled crawfish and this was by far the best. Fresh crawdads served hot with an awesome spice-boil blend. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great friendly service too!
This was the best food I've had in New Orleans. Fresh, well-seasoned, and super tasty. For great boiled shrimp and crab, visit Clesi's. Won't regret it
Off season for a crawfish boil but the blue crab and shrimp boil just as delicious!! Great for out of town guests and some of the best sea food we have had in years! Grandpa Old fashion had a black licorice flavor in it but good non the less. Crawfish Rangoon was delicious!!
The ambience is the best thing about this place. Not to discredit the food, which was delicious. We arrived here in the middle of the week, but the place was filled with several small groups of friends throwing back beers and enjoying some crawfish. We stumbled upon this place unexpectedly, but it will now be regular spot for us in NOLA.
Wonderful experience. Sat outside and enjoyed excellent onion rings, fried oysters, shrimp remoulade and crawfish mac and cheese.
Had to visit Clesi’s twice during our short stay in NOLA—delicious po’ boys, crawfish, shrimp, and mac and cheese. Wonderful service and staff.
The food was great and arrived quickly. Do yourself a favor and get the oyster tacos. Ate them before we could take a picture. Missy, our server, was amazing and gave advice on where to find the best king cake.
The food is sooooooo goooooood! (the shrimp is not that fresh, but the shrimp still taste good.) Do reserve before you go!
This is a must do when visiting New Orleans. Best experience I think I've ever had at a restaurant- ever! Our waitress was incredible and went above and beyond. Best seafood boil (and meal) in New Orleans, easy. Thank you, Clesi's! This will be my first stop on my next trip to NOLA.
It’s always pleasant here, nice environment, friendly employees, food is delicious, margaritas are legit, especially for the price!!! Nice vibes.
Great crawfish, great service, great atmosphere. If you want an authentic Louisiana crawfish boil this is the place to go. The menu is simple and that is a good thing, nothing is over the top or too crazy, it's a laid back comfortable place where you can enjoy a meal with friends and family.
We loved the crawfish by the pound and jambalaya! The food was great, our server Chris was patient with us, especially when we kept asking for another pound of crawfish or serving of jambalaya.
Great for crawfish and a fun outdoor atmosphere. The service was friendly, but they clearly had a hard time handling our large party.
Crawfish was exceptional. Burnt my lips a bit, but fabulous 😁
Would recommend. I just wish I tried the oysters 😩 …
Wifey and I got lunch here and ordered some crawfish, sausage, and shrimp. Crawfish had excellent flavor, but the shrimp was inedible! The shrimp was severely overdone, mushy, and bad flavor. Service was ok. We had to wait 30 mins for our food to come out.
Clesi's catered a crawfish boil for our wedding and it was AMAZING! Totally one of our guests' favorite thing about the entire weekend celebration. Clesi's staff was super friendly and down-to-earth. They helped us with the boil on-site as well as clean up. We had such a great time with them and it was hands-down the BEST crawfish I've ever had. Can't recommend them enough !!!
The food was delicious! Loved everything we had. The crawfish boil was really fun. Also loved the Rangoon. The service was good once we sat down but the hostess was terrible.
The food was tasty but the plates were incomplete and a couple of them were not as requested. The wait time was beyond what you'd expect at any laid-back restaurant even more so considering that the menu isn't very elaborate. I'd give it one more try as the food was good.
Nice staff with personality and great service. Big porch, nice bar area, also super yummy catfishies, it's the jam!
If you're in NOLA you HAVE to go to this place. Chill outdoor patio with cornhole AND in-house snowballs. Incredible service. Get there early or you'll miss out on the Crawfish! Happy hour is unbeatable.
Wow! So glad I decided to eat here for lunch. It was an outstanding experience and our server, Bre (?) was awesome. Crawfish were perfect and seasoned well. Drinks were strong! We had a great lunch!
Good crawfish. Friendly staff but very unorganized. Made many unnecessary trips. I ordered a drink that I never received and we never got a refill on our water. My boiled shrimp were seasoned well but sadly they were cold. Would come again but hoping for a better outcome.
Delicious seafood boil and friendly staff. They ran out of crawfish, gumbo and jambalaya by 6:30 but it was a Tuesday night and a lot of other restaurants were closed. The catfish tacos with pickled jalapenos made up for it, they were amazing!
Food was great and the service staff was friendly and helpful. Would Deff recommend... Inside and outside seating.
First timer here. Stopped by based on Google reviews by the way. Assuming they were very short handed and after 45 min wait we were seated. Orders 2 fried oysters plates and 2 pounds of crawfish and shrimp. 15 min later were told we had dinner menus left on the tables instead of lunch (how do we supposed to know both look like) so they could only serve fried oyster after 415pm, the time we were seated was 330pm. Changed orders to more crawfish and shrimp instead. Yada yada yada of course none of them came out same time, we are just munching on each other’s food. It was a real family style linner for us and I’m not sure if we try them again. This was on Sunday afternoon
This place was AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING. Best crawfish I have ever had.
The hurricane was also great, and the crawfish rangoons. But the boiled crawfish were out of this world. Spicy, but not too spicy. Cooked perfectly, juicy, not rubbery at all.
The candied jalapeño and bacon chargrilled, the garlic and Parmesan chargrilled, raw oysters, fried catfish, and the crawfish mac’n cheese burger are all good.
As of June 10, $7.99/lb for boiled crawfish. It's all right.
Blue crab: It should be illegal for places to sell such light crabs ($4 for a very light/empty crab).
This is our first time staying in mid-city and our first time eating at Clesi's. It was so good, we are probably going to eat here again before we leave in a week. My partner said "how do they get the catfish perfectly fried and not greasy like that?" I had the grilled shrimp (head-on) with onion rings; both were amazing. With his fried catfish, he got the crawfish mac n cheese, which was surprisingly bland. The drinks were out of this world - the Caipirinha was probably my favorite ever, maybe because they specifically used passionfruit flavoring. Either way, it was both strong and good. This place blows away all of our experiences of places in the French Quarter, which is where we stayed the last time we visited.
We LOVE Clesi's! This is our favorite Neighborhood restaurant - the food is amazing and the people are friendly, and we always have the best time eating here.
We are visiting NOLA from Ohio, and we were looking for something quick and inexpensive for pickup on a Sunday night. I could not have been happier with my decision to pick Clesi's. My mom got the 1/4 muffuletta, which was huge and delicious according to her. My kids got the buttered noodles and fries which was a good value for a kids meal and they ate then up quickly. I ordered the grilled shrimp platter with a side of jambalaya. I ate the jambalaya first and thought "man, I wish I had gotten the entree sized portion of jambalaya." But then I ate the shrimp. The shrimp was seasoned great and cooked perfectly, no cocktail sauce necessary. We still have a week in NOLA, and I foresee us going here again. I got curbside pickup, but from what I could see from outside it looked like a great atmosphere to dine-in as well.
Went in during weekday lunch and had a great time! Great vibe
A must if in the area. The food was so good. Everything tasted so fresh and good.
Man where can start with this place. I ordered the award winning catfish and man after eating I see why they won awards for their catfish. It’s AMAZING and well seasoned and not salty. Also, I ordered their gumbo as a side and it was delicious as well. Clesi’s has very good food and excellent service. I will definitely return to this awesome establishment.
So good! Definitely recommend sitting on the patio overlooking the outdoor kitchen! Very fun atmosphere.
The food was amazing, fresh crayfish and prawns out of this world.
Huge portions! And be aware: there is some spice here! The drinks are also delicious. I was told that this was the best seafood in New Orleans... idk about all that, but it is good and you will not regret it! The staff are all very friendly and quick.
Food was excellent! Sat outside and enjoyed our meal. Definitely recommend.
Amazing food. Staff was outstanding as well. I will be going back.
My boyfriend had the Catfish Thibodaux and his catfish was fried good and was tasty but the white cream sauce on his linguini was very weird. The waitress even warned us about people not liking it but my boyfriend ordered it anyhow. I ordered the Gator pasta dish….(forgot the name and it’s new and not on the current online menu). While the gator meat was good, the red sauce was not good at all. It was weird. Based off of our two dishes we would not go back. I gave 3 stars because we loved the atmosphere and our waitress was very nice.
The artichoke dip appetizer was good but served with bow tie shaped wonton pieces. I kind of liked it but it was definitely different.
I may give it one more try but I would only do that to try the crawfish boil.
The Pimms Cup was yummy. I’d go back just to have another one of those. Hard to find a good one lately it seems.
Authentic cajun crawfish boil. Friendly service and tasty food. Come here and eat lots
Just a short drive from City Park. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of oysters. Actually the best we had the whole trip. Great crawfish and jambalaya. The bread pudding, which is made in a waffle press, was great. My wife had the king cake cheese cake and loved it also. This was a last minute google search before we left NOLA. It certainly became one of our favorites anytime we come back!!
Awesome crawfish, super friendly staff. They are even ready to teach a total newbie to crawfish how to tackle it :)
I loved the fries oysters. Very good crawfish. Nice patio and good music.
We love the location and the ambience. The outdoor seating is perfect for Covid dining. Their crawfish boil looked and smelled excellent and is made fresh in an outdoor kitchen. The Jambalaya and Gumbo were a little too salty for our liking, catfish fry was too crusty and the fried green beans needed to be more crisp. Overall a good experience but could have been better. They looked short staffed and struggled to cope with the workload.
Delicious food! Make sure you get Mikayla as your server she's amazing!
Shrimp was jumbo and very fresh, but it’s a bit hard to peel. Crawfish was great. The seasoning is a bit salty, that’s why the minus star
This is where you go for crawfish. The tacos also rock. We couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was. Our server couldn’t have been friendlier. Food was prompt, simple and delicious. This is what New Orleans is all about.
This place used to be my go to spot for all seafood. We went this week and it was awful. The grilled oysters and shrimp must’ve been frozen. No seasoning. I feel bad but I hope they step up their game before they lose business because this place was my favorite. Worse than red lobster. I was sad when we left, and even more sad when I was sick from it this morning :-( Not sure if they have a supplier issue or what but they need to get that squared away ASAP
I’ve since spoken to one of the managers who informed me they are training kitchen staff and will relay this concern to the owner. She was very apologetic and told me to come back next time we are in town and they’d make it right.
Dined in on a wonderful Thursday afternoon. We were greeting immediately by our wonderful server, Devlyn. We started with two FRESH watermelon and tequila daiquiri. They were delicious, fresh, and strrrrong. We ordered crab claws and a chicken parmesan po-boy. Both were the best in the city. The caper lemon butter sauce on the crab claws was phenomenal. Amazing service, met with even better food.
Nice food and nice price
When you pull up to Clesi's, you immediately smell the wholesome goodness. You can see James and his awesome crew prepping and cooking the awesome boils and oysters. When we received our boiling pot, it was the best looking pot I had seen. The crawfish were perfect, shrimp were colossal, and the potatoes and corn were on point. Clesi's actually got a non-shrimp eater to eat shrimp, and love it! All of the seasons were perfectly done and we were checked on several times to make sure our huge family and kiddos were accommodated and enjoyed our food. It was amazing!! Our families will definitely be traveling back from south Texas to get some wholesome goodness.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and quickly seated inside next to the bar. Service was slow and took about 15 minutes for our waitress to arrive. We ordered the 1lb shrimp and 1lb crawfish platter, a muffaletta, and a kids chicken fingers dinner. The platter arrived promptly but no potato's, corn or sausage. 10 minutes later the $9!! kids platter arrived and I had to ask my waitress where the muffaletta was. It finally showed up as we were finishing the meal. Overall the food is very pricey, not flavorful, and service was poor. Will not go back or recommend.
Great food, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere! I love the wood slab bar top.
Good place to get seafood. The outdoor seating is covered which is a plus. Fried seafood was yummy, and the crawfish mac was good too. Portions were a little small but the prices aren't bad. Nice out of the way spot!
We likely came a little early to egt full vibe. Food was OK. Stuff very good
Absolutely amazing place!!! We stopped here as a secondary option since it was on the way to TX. No regrets whatsoever. The Bloody Mary's 🍅🌶, oysters and seafood boil 🥘 was to die for. I love blue crab and was happy to have it instead of snow crab (which you get a lot on the East coast). Service was awesome, very consistent and always checked the table (thx Alex!). HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The flavor of the seafood boil 🥘 was to die for. I couldn't even focus on anything else but the oysters 🦪 and crabs 🦀 LOL.
Oh my God. This place is amazing! We were visiting new orleans from another state and found some crawfish on bourbon Street. We found we love crawfish! But the one on bourbon was a bit spicy for me. Clesis on the other had had amazing crawfish with just enough spice, but easy to handle. The tacos on taco Tuesday were amazing. They only sell the tacos on Tuesday though, so be sure to make a plan if your visiting or hope your lucky! The atmosphere feels like we are on a beach side, it felt soo nice outside near the grills. The waiters and bartenders are great. Attentive and happy, well during the day. We went three times and the one time we went at night, the lady seemed frustrated. That's probably bc customers get angry from everything running out! This is a first come first serve, so be there before 5 or 6, I would say if you want crawfish or even catfish from our experience.
My friend and I went here after all the hype (we're actually locals). We got the crawfish, shrimp, fixings, jambalaya fries, and the mac and cheese burger-- EVERYTHING was delicious! Seriously, we really loved the food. It's a bit pricey and a long wait to get it (when we went, anyway), but the food made up for it.
Atmosphere is nice but if you get seated at an umbrella table in late afternoon you may have the sun in your eyes as we did. Rock floor makes it hard to bring your seat closer to the table. Husband ordered Shrimp Po-Boy w/Onion Rings it came long before my daughter and I got our Crawfish/Shrimp Boil Pot we ordered. You would think they would time it to bring our food all together. My husband had to sit and wait while we went through 2 lbs shrimp and 2 lbs of crawfish. The Crawfish were good and seasoned well, but the shrimp were absolutely mush! The shrimp had been so sitting in water/overcooked that it turned them into mush and very hard to peel. My family is from Louisiana and Mississippi and I can peel shrimp with my eyes closed, but these were just awful! The worst shrimp I have ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Go find another place to eat shrimp and crawfish!
The food was amazing but our garzon George really made the experience superb, almost a cosmic. I was shocked how well he managed to tap into my food tastes. He suggested a delicious plate that i other wise would not have ordered just based on a few of my likes. Truly mystical.
If you go, ask for George, he knows!
P.s: Best oysters I have ever had, ever ever.
I can't say enough good things about the people at Clesi's. The food they prepared was spot on and amazing. Jambalaya was outstanding, big size pieces of meat, perfect dirty rice and flavor off the charts. The boudin bites were seasoned perfectly, with some kick and the accompanying sauce set it off! Crawfish simply was unreal, big boys with the flavor of New Orleans in every twist and peel.
Not only did they blow up the food, they saved us from a wedding venue disaster by providing a space for our getaway elopement. Everything they touch turned to gold in my eyes and saying we are fans would be the biggest understatement. Daniel and the crew here simply are stellar in what they do.
Went on a Friday night and my seafood platter came out before my husband’s order. He waited almost an hour for his food to come and the shrimp was super salty. Our waitress was running around it took so long to even get napkins. But they were very apologetic but wouldn’t vist if we come back again.
Best crawfish in the city, great outdoor atmosphere. Good for groups and very casual. It’s always our first choice for boiled seafood. The wait time for food is always reasonable. Definitely Recommend.
Cool spot. Outdoor seating available, which was necessary for our party of 14. Great service, and exactly the kind of menu we were hoping for. Price was actually pretty darn reasonable (though the beer and wine selection is a bit leaving -- not a problem at all though). We took cabs here, but I could imagine parking being a problem if the place was crowded. Gumbo and jambalaya were solid, crab was real good. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a real Louisiana seafood boil.
Amazing place! Crawfish were great and the perfect amount of spice!!! Off other reviews had catfish and bread pudding and they are a must even though the crawfish was enough on its own! Jess took great care of us!!!
My wife and I went there to go pig out on some boiled crawfish and shrimp! We will definitely be returning!! The service was excellent from first walking in all the way until we left. Chris, behind the bar, took great care of us and all of the company from those around us was great. I would definitely check out this local restaurant when you come to New Orleans!
The raw oysters were the best this entire trip. The crawfish Rangoon was amazing!!
Our bartender Dev was such a joy! Had great suggestions for our Taco Tuesday visit. We really enjoyed the fried catfish, the crab claws and her amazing beverages! Drinks were cold, food was hot and the service was warm! Thank you guys!!!!
Great people and the best crayfish I've had
We have held several events here. Both pre Covid, and during the pandemic. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is very good. Always fresh, and some interesting takes on New Orleans classic dishes.
The management and staff could not be nicer. They have always made us feel welcome, and there is never any drama.
Skip the overpriced Tinder Date joint next door. Go to Clesi's for some real New Orleans food and service.
The food was amazing I’m telling you are amazing
Over and above service. I didn't wear gloves when eating a crawfish boil and felt like my hands were on fire. The waitstaff brought me anti burn cream and anti burn wipes from the kitchen first and kit and the whole staff kept checking in on me to see if I was OK. Really really kind hearted people.
Crawfish is outstanding. Perfectly seasoned, definitely top 3 this crawfish season. Drinks are good, the parking situation leaves something to be desired, but the food is worth the walk if you can't find parking close.
This place was rated No. 1 crawfish in New Orleans but I was quite underwhelmed unfortunately, the crawfish did not seem fresh.
Food was great! Staff were friendly and offered suggestions and timed our appetizer with our meal so we had time to enjoy both. Highly recommend Clesi's to everyone looking for a restaurant to sit and enjoy seafood.
Weird vibe from the staff this time and the Crawfish were over cooked and over priced. The kitchen food was great though. Good atmosphere. Could use a few more fans outside for the bugs.
Great food and service. The shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. The boil seasoning really soaked into the shrimp and corn. The potatoes don’t seem to absorb much of the flavour though. Definitely suck on those shrimp heads to get all the flavour!! The fried green beans were a great surprise. They come with a sambal chilli lime sauce which was good. The fried catfish was superb and so were the onion rings that went with it. Great dinner at half the price of other comparable seafood restaurants on Bourbon street.
Wednesday a friend and I went here for their restaurant week menu. The crawfish croquettes were awesome and so were the mushrooms. We highly suggested that they put the croquettes on their menu. We both had the pasta dish and it was to die for. We also tried, not on restaurant week menu, a 1/2 dozen of the jalapeños and bacon chargrilled oysters and they were fabulous. The desserts were very good as well. It's a casual environment and the service was outstanding. We met one of the owners, sorry I can't remember her name, but she was a sweetheart. Daniel you rock as well. I will be back. I took an order of the croquettes home and my son loved them. I told them that I'd come back and try all of the different chargrilled oysters on the menu. I am spreading the word! I'm very hard to please so if I do a review that means I enjoyed everything. Thank you so much for making our meal and time their enjoyable and welcoming. Lol, Daniel I'm glad I realized you weren't a twin but you must be on skates. Awesome, awesome, awesome!
Ordered the $17 dollar lunch special. Crab claws came first, plump meaty claws with a garlic butter & caper sauce, with three slices of bread for mopping up the sauce. Next up was the Bienville Burger, cooked to order, a 1/2 pound delight served with fried onion rings on top, fully dressed. Overall, excellent!
The food was all pretty bland. Cooked well but bland. I had the fried catfish, potato salad and jambalaya fries. It wasn't too expensive but not cheap either. The location is very nice, with outdoor seating and a cornhole game available. Service was friendly but lacking. I was there for an hour and half and never offered a refill on my drink. I would like to try to crawfish if I ever go back during crawfish season. Drinks on the patio might also be nice.
Great staff and great food. Heaps of outdoor seating makes it a relaxing and fun atmosphere.
The crawfish have the right amount of heat and flavor.
Char-grilled oysters were a disappointment though. It looked and tasted like the parmesan and garlic were added once the oysters came off the grill.
This has become one of our go-to’s for crawfish this season!
We were in town for the HQ Tradeshow with my Husband and 2 Adult children you can say we were in Nola for business and pleasure and this place blew our mind away with their Shrimp, crawfish and crab boil, this was our First time in Nola and what an experience, the Employees was top-notch and went above and beyond, the night we went was slightly chilly and they had a couple of heat lamps out the table next to us was more than eager to share and pull it between us and as their friend left they pulled it closer noticing I was cold. To find out later after paying, they were employees of the restaurant enjoying the ambiance of the night. This Owner made a good choice with these employees, they made our night. Thank you for your hospitality. Hope to be back soon.
The service here is spectacular! 10 STARS across the board!!! Devlynn, Olivia, and Tyler were all so very warm and welcoming! They offered amazing recommendations and whipped us up some delicious cocktails!!! 🤤 The food quality was on point and left us feeling full and satisfied! We LOVE Clesi's and will most definitely be back for more! …
Amazing crawfish and mimosas! Loved the various mimosa flavors available and crawfish was very well spiced. Potatoes, corn, sausage all great. A wonderful Sunday afternoon spot, when the weather is nice!
Ordered delivery to our AirBNB in the French Quarter and our order included 4 sides of Crawfish Mac & Cheese but only 1 was delivered. Called to let them know and the girl who answered was very understanding and nice, she immediately got the manager on the phone. When I explained to Daniel that we couldn't come pick up the others because we didn't have a rental car, he got our address and delivered it himself! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The meal was to celebrate my son's 14th birthday and Clesi's did not disappoint!
Omg! this has become my every week place to eat. The brunch here is amazing. They're short staff but I didn't have to wait long for anything. Ally was my server and she rocked it out. Prices, food, atmosphere, and drinks are amazing
We had Clesi's cater a bachelor party dinner at a house we rented and it worked out perfect. We all came from out of state (mostly from the West Coast) and wanted to try a Crawfish boil. Even though we were told that it might not be possible, given the unusually cold weather while we were there - they made it happen. It was awesome. Well worth it and a cool chance to taste some tasty authentic Louisiana cuisine. They also made us a some Jambalaya, which was pretty amazing as well.
My favorite place in the city to get boiled seafood and fixings. Wonderful patio and outdoor space, good service, GREAT seasonings on the crawfish and totally not full of tourists.
UPDATE 2021: I had an ordered delivered by Clesi's for a gathering and the customer service was EXCELLENT. They worked with me to find the right menu, called ahead to confirm my event, texted me when they were on the way, and delivered right on time with everything we needed. Every guest was asking "where did these crawfish come from?" because they were so impressed with the seasoning and quality. I can't say enough good things about these folks!
My family and I were very hesitant to try creole and cajun food because we don't like spices... Clesi's seafood totally proved us wrong. We ordered the famous jambalaya cheese fries appetizer and jambalaya entree. All our food was delectable!!
The service was awesome and the ambiance was great!
I enjoyed my Clesi Burger with onion rings. Great service and outdoor seating. From the first gal that greeted us the the last guy that picked up our plates. Everyone had a smile and pleasant way. Great place, yummy food and wonderful service. Recommend.
Wow Jess is the best server in the world! I have ate at many 5 Star Restaurants or popular dives in the USA and she is by far the best! Someone better clone her.
Now the food, FREAKING AWESOME!
-Crawfish
-Jambalya
-Catfish
-Shrimp
All shared at our table and we all agreed!
Really reasonable prices, great location, you can watch Cles cook up your crawfish right there. Wonderful staff and a wonderful experience.
Joan aka Joni acknowledged us immediately upon arrival and made us feel welcomed. She guided us through the menu to make us aware of the happy hour specials. The bar is always clean and comfortable. Clesi's kitchen always has tasty bites and the best crawfish when in season! Love this neighborhood bar!
You’ve GOT to go here! Before I even start with the food, let me say how incredible the staff is. I took a group of teenagers to New Orleans and we were scheduled to visit Clesi’s on Saturday night. We were forced to return home a day early because of coronavirus concerns. The great people at Clesi’s generously managed to work us in Friday instead. They were so warm and friendly. And the food! Where to begin? It was all so delicious. We can’t wait to go back!
The crawfish were fast to boil but a little on the salty side. My friends and I had a blast hanging outside on the cute patio.
We actually came to Clesi's for a hands-on crawfish boil and left with plans to come back a few days later! This place is great if you want to sign up for a crawfish boil experience or if you just want to eat, drink, and have a good time (or all of the above!).
The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming - James and Maegen in particular were great!
The crawfish are spicy and DELICIOUS. We has about 6 pounds and could have had more. We also had two dishes that traditionally I'm not a big fan of - jambalaya and dessert. However, Clesi's versions of these are SO GOOD. The Jambalaya is moist and full of flavor and the Bread Pudding is addicting.
We'll be back for sure :)
Wonderful! The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed the laid-back attitude of the staff. They were super cool and willing to show us how to eat crawfish. Great place to enjoy crawfish and oysters. Super reasonably priced, and the bread pudding desert was amazing.
Wonderful during crawfish season. Wonderful yummy fresh seafood regularly too
5 star Taco Tuesday, y'all. The best in the city! I come here almost every week!
Edit: *was* the best in the city. 3 dollar tacos and 5 dollar margs (used to be 2 bucks for each - which was a helluva incentive to go!) The word got out so they had to up their prices. Now there are crazy wait times and sometimes they run out of food. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you wanna go.
Best raw oysters and fried catfish in town. Servers are friendly, attentive, and AWESOME. Outdoor dining and super safety conscious. Can’t say enough. Bartender rocks too.
Incredible place! We split the seafood platter with 3 people and all felt very happy and full. Good atmosphere, and the waiter was extremely friendly. Fried oysters were the highlight for me.
The food was bomb! We order a boiling pot of crawfish with corn, a whole garlic head, and potato. Thanks to our waitress, Missy, who took the time to pull up a chair and explain the whole menu to us tourists. We really enjoyed having garlic with our crawfish. The raw oysters were also really good. The waitresses are willing to give a tutorial on how to peel crawfish and shrimp. The shrimp are really big here!
I’m really sad to write this review, but I’m writing because I hope the owners will see an address a quality control issue.
Let me start by saying I loved Clesi’s. It’s the only place that serves crawfish like my family does and the shrimp are great as well. I’ve also had the catfish on previous nights at Treo and loved it.
Today we went to their new location on Bienville and I was really disappointed. There seems to be a quality control issue. When I bit into one of the catfish I couldn’t swallow because the smell was so bad—like they’d gone bad. Some of the pieces tasted fine (tho very under seasoned), but when I ate a bad filet it was really bad.
To their credit, I didn’t bring it up with out waiters or the manager—they seemed really nice and probably could have taken care of it, but I’m just generally uncomfortable doing that and bit the bullet.
My boyfriend got the shrimp and they were fine and the fried broccoli was good and interesting, but the fish were just really bad.
I’ll be back for crawfish season, but I don’t think I could eat the catfish again. Sad about it but hope it gets better because I do really like the business. P
Awesome food, huge portions, great service!
Best crawfish + friendly service = leaving full & happy
Clesi's is the New Orleans crawfish place that everyone should try once. It seemed to attract locals and the staff was super friendly and helpful to out-of-town folks.
I visited on a hot day and we were greeted by a very friendly woman who made sure we knew about the happy hour specials and helped us order. A lot of the staff stopped to chat with us. As a visitor from Chicago, I was even got a small demonstration on how to properly eat crawfish. The food was absolutely amazing and fresh.
Thank you Clesi's for the amazing food and I highly recommend this place to anyone & everyone!!
First time at this type of restaurant, my mom and I made sure to let the waiter know we were clueless. They were pretty busy, we waited and were finally seated outside. Our waiter took our orders and someone else brought part of our food and we had to let them know they forgot stuff. Then we were left alone for the rest of our meal until the very end when he did a quick drive by. We finished and chased him down for the check. The food was pretty good, not stellar, but plentiful, we decided it wasn't worth the effort to try again.
Check out the daqs. I think the one they were featuring today was a watermelon tequila flavor. The bartender said she even puréed the watermelon herself today. I tried the Parmesan garlic oysters... I didn’t know oysters could taste like that. Nervous to eat in anywhere else in New Orleans after eating here, it’s just that good!
The crawfish here is so good. I visited right as they were coming into season too. If you're not good with spice though, I'd advise caution. The corn you can order with it is also a little spicy. The potatoes are not.
The fried catfish was also prepared really well. I usually taste the catfish-y muddy taste at most places that prepare catfish but theirs, nothing. It was almost like white meat fish from the ocean.
I really enjoy their gumbo as well. A lot of places I've been to in New Orleans tend to make it a little too salty (like they've been sitting at the stovetop a little too long) but this place was just right.
The shrimp was good but I've had better. Crawfish is where it's at here.
I probably eat at Clesi’s once per week this crawfish season. Even through COVID, via delivery. Their crawfish are the perfect mix of spice and salt (and I prefer spicier crawfish than most). I’m addicted. Their outdoor seating is always fun, drinks are always cold. I’ve had 1-2 mishaps with orders and the staff has been willing to go above and beyond to fix whatever the issue was. Had an order mishap today via door dash And they personally sent someone out to bring me the rest of my order.... rockstar service, delicious food. Local or visitor, this is the place you want to get your crawfish and beer!!
Crawfish platters, oysters, crawfish queso to die for. This dog friendly, casual locals place has great drinks, fantastic food and great service. I recommend it for locals as well as visitors who are looking for a taste of the real NOLA.
The crawfish was awesome. Seasoned to protection. Can't complain about that. Only thing was they were short staffed and we were not notified of the wait time for crawfish. Took over an hour to get crawfish after being seated. But other that jambalaya and gumbo were also on point. Definitely be back again.
Couldn't wait until I could once again eat Clesis excellent food and enjoy their top notch and personable service.
The new porch covering made it enjoyable and comfortable in the summer heat.
I started with a great bloody Mary - had the Shrimp and grits - perfect breakfast!!
Best catfish and shrimp! We went for the crawfish but sadly it was to late in the season (we where from out of state so we had no idea). The place was dead but the wonderful cooked stayed open and welcomed us in like family. Seriously delicious.
AMAZING FOOD!!! Some of the best crawfish and catfish I have had from a restaurant! The staff here was amazing and made my family feel as if we were theirs. Me and my wife were in such an intense conversation about how great this place was that we missed our exit to get home lol. Thanks for the experience and food!!!!
No frills joint great service. Delicious, spicy boils.
Devlyn was an excellent waitress, food was awesome & she made an bomb strawberry daiquiri! Atomsphere spacious, everyone was very friendly. Will be back & recommend 2 others! Seafood, burger, pasta joint.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 …
Absolutely fantastic!! Food and service were amazing! Go to place for a wonderful authentic boil. 10/10
My husband had the catfish po'boy & I had the shrimp po'boy. They were both delicious! The service was outstanding and everyone was super friendly. Clesi's will be a regular stop when we come to New Orleans.
Great crawfish and theg even teach you how to eat it. We ordered 1 lb. first and then got more. It was delicious!!! We didn't order enough corn, sausage and potatoes though. Yummy food!!!
Our first time here the crawfish was great. The second time the crawfish was amazing. While they sometimes run out early, it's some of the best in the city.
I love their setup and their food, the staff are always great and their location is amazing.
Worth every penny. Crawfish were superb. So was the sausage. I really like the fact that you can buy a drink next door at Banks Street Bar and bring it over to drink now or later. Wonderful way to get to know new people by sitting on the picnic benches outside. I met a couple from France, a very interesting man and his wife from New Orleans, and also some Russian women. Grade: A+ for ambience, quality of food. Your hosts are Tiny and Charlie.
Clesi's is great. They're figuring out their systems and service is getting quicker. The service has always been friendly though. The food is outstanding. The crawfish can be pricey, but good luck finding better crawfish or ones that are available anytime of day, pretty much every day of the week.
The best crawfish boil around!! Get there early so you don't miss out!
I cannot praise this place enough. Was intrigued to visit it for its famous winning crawboil. A MUST! I cannot say I have eaten this well in years. Their fried catfish is to die for too... and the prices are so low. We were pleasantly shocked when we got the bill. Apart from the AMAZING food and prices, the service was worth writing home about too! All together a 10/10 recommendation.
Amazing boiled seafood, best in the city! Brie our waitress is awesome!
Clesi's did our party catering (40 people) at the Catahoula Hotel on June 8. The correspondence with the team (Sonya) before the event was great. Gilbert and the team turned up 1 hour prior to the event and served up jambalaya, BBQ shrimp and sides. Great food and great service!!!
Best crawfish and catfish! Everything on menu is delicious. Great place, great food, great people! Our group had a lot of fun and enjoyed the food. Staff was friendly. We will be back!
Nice enough spot and service was good but one of the patties of the Clesi burger came out nearly raw. My spinach and bacon salad had no bacon. Fries with the burger were $4 extra. And it wasn’t very busy at the time.
I live 2 blocks away. I just now tried to call in for take out. I was rudely told with no explanation no take out. I don't want to wait 45 minutes to hour for a table when I can pick it up and bring it home in less time. While we do enjoy the food it will be a long time before we think about doing business with them.
Best crawfish in town. Louisiana ice teas are amazing and very friendly staff.
Delicious food, fast service, and great servers! This was my first crawfish boil but definitely won’t be my last!
THE CRAWFISH RANGOONS ARE TO DIE FOR!!!! All the seafood is incredible!
After playing a show at the bar next door the smell lured me in and had the BEST damn experience eating them crawdads, the jambalaya is off the hook and made fresh, the catfish superb and flaky, Clesi hooked us up with a hefty portion. I highly recommend this anyone that likes authentic Cajun food.
This place was like a hole in the wall which made it alluring for me. It was better than expected. There was more than enough food. I carried a pound of whole shrimp back to the hotel.
Great experience.
Awesome experience! They were out of lemons and one of the staff went next door to get us some lemon slices to enjoy the catfish the best way. Food was delicious and everyone was so friendly! Can't wait to go back!
Came here in 2016. The owner was very accommodating. He had Robin Hood Men in Tights playing on the TV and offered to put our beers in his cooler to keep them cold while we ate. Best corn and crawfish I've ever eaten. Left his kitchen guy a couple of the brews we couldn't finish. Will definitely come back next time I find myself in NOLA.
The place is a hole in the wall but the food and people are shining stars. Love the place. Had the catfish basket which just won area best of and crawfish, which was great. Owner took the time to show us proper crawfish form and talk about other local spots.
Rude. Crawfish was better than Bevi's but the poboy shrimp tasted like water and the poboy in general was dry. Worst part is they are just snobish which looses my business every time.
Went with a group, we had amazing crawfish and a lot of fun. The staff was friendly and service was excellent.
I've been to Clesi's a few times with friends visiting from out of town that want to try crawfish while they're in New Orleans and it's always been a pleasant experience - reasonably priced and fresh.
What really makes these guys 5 star in my book is how well they treated a group of me and my friend with a catering order recently. We had ordered a bunch of crawfish expecting to eat it at the Fly but it was raining heavily all day. We called Clesi's asking if we could delay delivering the order (hoping the weather would improve) but instead they told us we could just come and enjoy it at their place. They even offered to shut down the restaurant for us as private event. They were so incredibly gracious and turned a potential disaster into a really awesome afternoon. They also didn't mind us bringing our own keg.
I can't wait to go back to Clesi's - not only for the crawfish but also the friendly people.
Came to New Orleans to celebrate my 50th b-day. I wanted seafood and came across Clesi's. The ambiance was nice, and the place was clean. I got the catfish (fried) and the crawfish Mac and cheese, Everything was DELISH, cooked to perfection! Our waiter Jarvis was AWESOME, and very interactive with us! He found out it was my bday and catered to my every need, treated me like a Queen! I will DEFINITELY cone back to visit NOLA and Clesi's! Thank You! ☺️❤️
I hate that I have to say this but hopefully it draws some attention because I want to love you. The environment is great and the crawfish is fine but there’s really no excuse for $8/pound this far into the season.
I literally live across the street but I’ll definitely go to Bevi for half the price and the same if not better quality food before I empty my wallet to sit on a patio.
Knock it off with the tourist crawfish prices. Let me love you.
Simple seafood menu, affordable, tasty. I had crawfish for the first time - really tasty and fun. It’s obvious why Clesi’s is famous for crawfish. Crawfish are messy, like eating lobster and unexpectedly spicy. The restaurant is small but it has a huge patio - I recommend sitting out there if the weather allows it. No parking here, find something on a nearby side street. Most items available for take out, except for crawfish. Worth a visit!
DELICIOUS TACOS! It was their special for the day. We had a few shrimp & catfish & none were disappointing. We were so sad we couldn't taste their crawfish, they were out for the season.
We got the crawfish, shrimp, boudin bites and gumbo. Everything was really good. Nice place, great vibe and our server, Elizabeth, was great.
Excellent no-fuss fried seafood and bar food. I've had their meat pies, Jambalaya Fries, and Fried Catfish. Everything was great and the price is fair. Also, the fried catfish was probably the best fried catfish I've had anywhere in the city.
Excellent crawfish, cool outdoor seating atmosphere, and friendly wait staff. Didn't think their sides were that great (potatoes and corn; sausage wasn't available), but overall pretty good.
EVERYTHING was delicious. The wait staff was very kind and offered many suggestions. We are outside and it was very clean. Did I mention how good the was?!?! Amazing. I will definitely be back!
Pretty good local place for crawfish and typical new Orleans food, but a bit bland. Crawfish wasn't spicy enough and felt the other food was good but underseasoned. Boudin bites were great though.
Placed a large take out order and it was fantastic. Fried catfish, jambalaya, and debris fries are a must! Looking forward to getting into the crawfish next time we're back in NOLA.
New favorite crawfish place. They use some secret ingredient in the boil that I cannot identify but is delicious. The seafood po boys are expertly fried and overstuffed. Ask the price for crawfish before you order!
Great restaurant, great staff, and great food. Added to places we have to go when in New Orleans.
Looking forward to eating inside again. Food was great but the flies were horrendous. We asked for a fan to shoo them away but didn't get one. Next time they will get 4-5 stars.
Crawfish were $6.90 a lb (corn, potato, sausage all extra), which is subject to change. However, Felix's currently has 3 lbs with fixin's for $15, and most places are cheaper. Crawfish flavor is good, but not worth the high price. Also oversalty the night I went. If you are in town looking for crawfish, many bars have either free boils or at least reasonably priced boils. Can't really recommend this place due to the overpricing.
Great boiled and fried seafood, it's what they do best. I'd recommend sticking with those options. Service is usually pretty slow but it's an enjoyable atmosphere.
Head and shoulders above all others! The best boiled Crawfish in town. Catfish po boy also delicious. Very nice people and my new favorite place.
Fantastic food and people! The shrimp and crawfish were amazing and everyone from the hostess to our server were great!
Amazing crawfish boil! Food is excellent and the service is great! Chris was so friendly and helped us know what to order. Will definitely be back when we're in town!
We loved sitting outside at this dog friendly place! The food was so good and thank you Tayler T. for great service!
Best Cajun I have had in NOLA
Food was amazing service was amazing 100% go
Great, great, GREAT! My shrimp poboy was perfect and the crawfish boil was the real deal! All the delicious Cajun spice you'd ever want is right here.
Delicious crawfish, really nice service and a fun outdoor setting. Felt like I was at a backyard party.
Food was five star. Service a three. They were slammed, and seemed a little befuddled. Forgot order items etc. But everyone was very friendly. I don't want to ding them too much.
Also, the middle aged male waiter was coughing into his hand, then serving food. Eww.
Pretty good crawfish, just slightly on the underseasoned side.
Yep. This is the place folks. Great service. Friendly people. Amazing boiled Crawfish.
Come and get some 😋 …
First meal in the big easy. Crawfish were a bit small but that was because of the season. Plenty of food and a fair pour on the mixed drinks.
Great outside atmosphere and friendly service. Food tastes authentic and is not overpriced. Must visit for anyone traveling through New Orleans and wants some good food!
Fantastic food and service. Great vibe. Highly recommend!
Amazing crawdads, friendly and good beer.
Never had a crab/crawdad boil before, the waiter was super polite and informative and the food was amazing. Highly recommend
Spicy mud bugs! Seemed dark at first, but I'll label it romantic lighting cos they are being considerate of their neighbors. Everything we ate was delicious. They only lost a star cos butter wasn't liquid when served.
Best Slow Boil in New Orleans. James Clesi, his brother and the crew are amazing. The locals come on a regular basis. Friendly place to eat and hang out, but the food!!!! Oh boy so good!!
Crawfish had great flavor. A bit pricey and bare bones (only offered potatoes and sausage. No corn, garlic, mushrooms).
Amazing!!! Did the Charbroiled oyster class - incredible. Highly recommend it. Food is incredible, staff is even better. Best oysters I've had yet
Seafood platter was delicious and very flavorful. I'm definitely going to try the boiled crawfish upon my next visit!!!
Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service!
Inside small so you may have to sit outside sometimes, can be brutal during winter or summer.
The boiled crayfish and shrimp were seasoned perfectly, not too spicy but with flavor.
I went for the catfish and they delivered. It was very good. They were serving a lot of boiled crawfish to a full house on a Sunday night. I recommend it.
Crawfish and broiled oysters are amazing here!
Amazing service(from Jess) best shrimp and grits we ever had! Trio mimosas are to die for! 10/10
Outstanding fried shrimp on the po'boy and the platter. Don't sleep on the fried broccoli & remoulade, either. Can't wait to watch the boiler in action come crawfish season.
Everything is perfect. Great atmosphere, good for the whole family, friendly staff, all the food is delicious (burgers and seafood... something for everyone), and perfect crawfish!!!!
Cool spot for weedend brunch served with live local music. Nice new outdoor shady deck, quick service, and frosty beverages.
Awesome hands on experience for oysters! Everyone there was so friendly and helpful!! So glad we chose this place
Delicious food, great service and awesome environment! Fresh boiled crawfish by the pound and comfortable and chill outdoor seating.
Superb service by Vesna. Top shelf shrimp boil and boudin. Old fashion whiskey was excellent as well. Good luck with crawfish season!
Crawfish was so good. The shell wasn't hard to come off the shell. Customer service was also top notch. I will return again.
Crawfish was great tasting but a little over boiled that made it hard to get out of the shell! Live the place and atmosphere here!
Great place to grab crawfish. Me and my friends were on our way back home from Florida and decided to stop for some crawfish. Best decision our entire trip. Loved it
Good crawfish. Usually like mine a little spicier, but still had a good flavor. A little in the pricey side, but I'm okay with that if it means supporting a good local business.
By far the best seafood in Mid-City if not all of New Orleans. Staff is friendly, prices are good, and the front porch seating is great.
The seafood boil was great! Plenty of street parking and an outdoor seating area.
Best experience! Crawfish were fresh and perfect. Staff was friendly and fun!! Make the trip!
We had a private boil with Clesi's and couldn't have been happier with the quality of the food and the people that came by to do the boil. One of the highlights of our trip.
The boiled seafood was good. I'm from New Orleans so I can be pretty strict with the traditions of the city.. Pretty small, and friendly staff.
