Absolutely loved our visit here.
Don't think it's changed much since 1919 and still cash only.
Loved everything, especially the crab claws, oyster stew and plump raw Oysters. Horseradish on the tables was great.
Lovely staff and a really nice atmosphere, be careful walking through the kitchen to get to the bathroom though!

Came here for the nostalgia. Saw it on diners driveins and dives twice. The owner is very nice. Had the charbroiled oysters, fried crab claws, and a local strawberry beer. Crab claws were good. They make them in a old pot and fry to perfection. The oysters were fresh, however i would recommend they use more butter and garlic and less cheese. Great spot on magazine street to eat. SPOILER ALERT: CASH ONLY

This is a renown institution. Open only 4 months out of the year. When you go to New Orleans, this is where everyone needs to go FIRST. The oysters are fresh, plenty of delicious food and seafood option, iconic floors that stood the test of time since 1919, great locals gathering together, and not to mention the amazing family that runs it. The staff is friendly and really personable. Its the most amazing experience of New Orleans that one will have when dining there. Remember to bring cash as it is cash only.

Talk about nostalgia!! This place was so cool, and pretty much seemed unchanged from when it opened 100 years ago. A very seafood/oyster focused restaurant. It’s family owned and you can read about the family on the website. We were served by one of the twin daughters who helps her parents run the place. My boyfriend is an oyster lover and this is where he wanted to have them in NOLA. It was so cool to see the shuckers at work right in the front room, and man are they big oysters!! Make sure to bring plenty of cash!

Nice stop for a bite. Great oysters cold and cleaned. The evenings walking around are very nice. The tram is fun to ride and explore many non tourist areas. The main strip can get crowded at times and pay attention to pick pockets. There are many great food stops along the way but this one is a super first or last stop in this city.

Made a trip here for lunch. One of the best decisions I ever made.
A really great old line oyster bar and restaurant. Family owned and run, and it shows in their attention to quality and service. Lots of locals coming in for lunch, and that is always a good sign.
My friend had a bowl of seafood gumbo. It smelled wonderful and he thought it was the best one he'd ever had. I ordered a dozen oysters. They were plump, salty and sweet at the same time. Very clean as well.
I also had 1/2 a shrimp loaf. Packed with fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato and mayo on lightly grilled and buttered bread it was surely the best shrimp sandwich I've ever had. Even the pickle was good. Along with a couple of IPA's just a great lunch.
Worth the trip is you're looking for some of the best that New Orleans has to offer.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Fantastic food and service. The charbroiled oysters were incredible and my husband and I don't particularly enjoy oysters normally.

Great food and atmosphere. The oysters on the half shell were on point and large. Such a rich history, over 100 years in business. This is a must if you are in town.

The oysters were so extremely fresh. Best I've ever had. We got some of the chargrilled ones too and those were also very good. A must anytime I'm back in NO (also if we catch them open during their open months)

Oyster is good, fried food is average, overall, it worth a try.
