Reviews of Brennan's
Peter Hey (RV PLANET)
Great food, great service, great ambiance. It is a restaurant that, in spite of being big in the number of people it accommodates, still preserves a smaller atmosphere by having different rooms in the establishment. We were there for thanksgiving. Host comes to your table and asks about your experience. Now, keep in mind that this is not a casual restaurant, they post at the door no shorts, no “open shoes” for men, jackets encouraged in the evening. So, you get the idea. Excellent!!

My all-time favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Brennan’s never disappoints. Treated like family from the very moment we walked in. Brennan’s has the best wait staff and bartenders in the city. Eric is the very best and his Attention to detail impeccable. If you haven’t made a reservation at Brennan’s what are you waiting for?
Rebecca Jung
Food is fantastic, huge wine booklet with lots of variety, and host is equally amazing. The thing that stands out to me the most is the sauces for any of the dishes. Chicken might have been a little bit too meaty/ tough for me, but it's up to preferences. I love the cioppino! And of course try the turtle soup 🐢 and banana flambe. Host is very knowledgeable about the history and did the flambe right in front of us with plenty of flare 🔥 be sure to make reservations!

You must be out of your mind not to go while visiting New Orleans…
This place exceeded my expectations… and if you have been around and read some of my reviews, you should know how high these are.
First of all, it’s the history behind it. Absolutely thrilling. Then it’s the atmosphere… 100% New Orleans magical vibes with different rooms decorated differently, tastefully done with an eye to details and high quality finishes. Already with this benefits, unfortunately, there’s plenty of establishments where you have to put up with a staff attitude or bad quality food. NOT the case here. They tick all the boxes, even the most important ones of quality of service and food. On top of that; the price is absolutely fair and reasonable. I mean, it doesn’t get better than this. I have been to many places around the world and not too many have everything this place has. Back to the service, I interacted with many of their team staff and they were ALL super nice, friendly and accommodating. The food was pretty good, perfectly presented, on a timely manner and temperature and with good quality products and well cooked with their original recipes. I could not have been more satisfied nor happy after making it here! Next time we are back in New Orleans, we will DEFINITELY come back!

Brennan’s has a great ambience and great service. The courtyard is great for daytime seating and definitely is worth some photos. The menu sounded great and the food looked great however, I must say it was shockingly bland and needed salt. Furthermore, it was not hot which was disappointing. For this price point and in New Orleans I think there are many better options!

I've waited over 40 years to visit this restaurant. Last night I had the pleasure of dining here. It was an awesome experience. Jory, my server, was amazin,as was every single employee I encountered. The dinner special, Steak Diane, was perfect and Jory did an excellent table-side presentation. Of course, the Bananas Foster table-side preparation was the highlight. And it was everything that I had anticipated. I've had a 40 year history of preparing the Brennan's recipe of Bananas Foster at my Mom's home for family around Christmas time. And with my family gone now, it was a nostalgic and emotional evening to actually get to enjoy the dessert in it's original "home" and hear Jory tell the tale of the dessert's origins. Thank you Jory and Brennan's for making this a wonderful memory for me.

Overall -tasty. Definitely fine dining. We didn’t have reservations and got a table with no problem in the courtyard on a Sunday morning. Turtles in the fountain were cool! Ordered the Panned Louisiana Rabbit - was just the right amount of food. I will say, the broccoli on it was interesting. Not slightly cooked. Expensive… but if you’re only in NOLA once, worth a try.

The experience and drinks were fantastic. We went for brunch a few months back and I enjoyed how good the service was even though COVID was still going on however, I was a little disappointed in the food. It was prepared good, but I felt like it might have lacked originality at times. I did enjoy the banana foster, which was the real reason I went, so that's good.
Avram Granett
Despite mistakenly reserving our table for next month, the hostess took pity on us and sat us over-looking the beautiful courtyard. I'm glad she did for our meal was one of the best we had during our NOLA visit!
The Brandy Milk Punch cocktail was just like having an eggnog, without the egg! Amazing! The New Orleans style coffee tasted better than at any of the other French Quarter places we are at during our trip.
The entrees were so delicious - the mushrooms with the fried chicken (and the chicken itself) was terrific. The eggs Sardou was also amazing and quite unique.
We're so glad we were able to enjoy brunch there and highly recommend it!

How could I have left without the banana foster!!!
I walked in as a single diner. They were not busy at all, but it was clear they didn’t want any of the walk ins having a table at the infamous restaurant area, so it was myself, and about 5 other single people next to each-other at the bar. Of course, I would’ve been happier at a table, but I did understand it. It was actually lovely to get talking to people next to me about New Orleans, so I really enjoyed myself.
Bar staff were very friendly and sweet.m, and helped me with the order since I’m British and completely new to Nola food!
It was breakfast so I had the eggs hussarde which was heavenly. The best eggs/breakfast dish I’ve ever had. I also had the gumbo which is supposed to be incredible here. There’s no denying it was extremely tasty, but perhaps gumbo isn’t my thing? Overall, I would recommend this place as a great stop. @diningnotdashing

Definitely on the expensive side, but you get wonderfully tasty food in an elegant and fun environment. We all really enjoyed our food and our service. Really enjoyed the steak and bananas foster that was made table side. If you're looking for a great fine dining experience in NOLA, this may be it!
Josh Ritchie
Took the family out for pre-Christmas brunch, spectacular experience. Gumbo starter was on point, Bloody Mary was sharp, and my wife’s ricotta pancakes were amazing (don’t miss out on this!). But the star of the table was definitely the bananas foster - don’t miss out on the show!
Rosie
Love this place! We make sure to visit whenever we visit New Orleans. This time around we were celebrating my mom's 81st birthday and she had a great time! Thank you for making her birthday special.
Justin Bowen
This place is out of this world! I cannot recommend it any more highly! The service was fantastic! The environment is superb. I absolutely recommend ordering the banana foster; trust me it will be worth it.
Gary Maxwell
Spending several hours savoring an exquisite dinner in this historic restaurant is well worth it. Everyone raved about both the Turtle Soup and the Gumbo. The Smoked Scallops were a revelation - a nuanced hickory flavor without the heaviness of a bacon wrap. The Pork Tenderloin was perfect (barely medium rare) with a similar subtle smoky flavor. Hawaiian-style rolls are perfect for sopping up extra sauce. Of course, we had to have Bananas Foster, often imitated but the Brennan’s version is a flavor bomb that leaves you smiling.

My favorite dish was blackened fish. The turtle soup and gumbo was a bit too salty for me. The grilled octopus i got bubkes of it. And that banana foster was all about the show, it's like pouring 10 lbs of sugar into one banana, and one scoop of icecream soaked into the syrup, I almost choked on it. The staffs were very nice and service was fantastic.
Adam Jones
We went to Brennan’s for a wedding rehearsal dinner which took place in the upstairs dining room. There was a set menu of steak and bbq shrimp with bananas foster for dessert. The shrimp was really good but nothing beats that bananas foster! Good service and great food!
Karin Israel
One of the best brunch experiences of my life, and I consider myself a true “foodie”. Our server John was fabulous! They don’t rush you out, but rather encourage you to take your time and enjoy the luxurious dining experience! The food was outstanding, the ambiance was amazing. 10/10 Does not get better than Brennan’s brunch. You must come if you’re in NOLA and get the banana foster when you’re here- they originated at Brennan’s!
Celestine Oglesby
I enjoyed the meal, but enjoyed even more the fun happening at the table nearby. They ordered the famous banana foster, my video captured the flames & part of the history shared by the waiter. It was interesting to learn that they polish the brass letters on the building frequently.
Rui Wang
5 stars from all perspectives. Walked in without an appointment and I enjoyed the bar seat. You might experience some marching band just ran into the restaurant play and then left. Fun!

4.8 | very solid choice. came in on a whim because the place was super charming and the open table listed it at a 4.8. I regret not trying their short rib, as though I enjoyed this plate here, it wasn't as filling. very aware upscale restaurants have smaller portions, so I'm not bothered by that, I just expected more of a thick stew, versus broth, which would have been more filling despite portion size.
I love their sparkling strawberry drink. I originally ordered the azalea, but believe it or not, though I'm a non sweet drink and dark rum kinda gal, the sparking strawberry was more satisfying. it had such a subtle strawberry flavour, but the sparkling wine was a nice balanced flavour profile, and was light enough to pair well with the seafood without overpowering it.
last but not least, the showstopper, the banana foster. absolutely brilliant. a great dessert with a side of show. highly recommend trying it.
if you're looking for a nice upscale dinner in NOLA without the noise and bustle, sneak away to this restaurant. we didn't have a reservation, but they were able to get us a table. I ended up paying $77 between two drinks, an entree, and dessert. that's a steal for a great spot. we tipped well because our waiter was awesome. I wish I remembered his name, but he's the amazing older gentleman who has lived in the French Quarters since 2000 and was clearly a veteran of good food and drinks.
will be back again before I leave to try their brunch menu! it looks delightful.
Yvette Bronner
Had breakfast, not much to choose on the menu however the strawberry marscapone dish was delicious and wished there was more!
The steak tar tar was delicious and we of course ordered the famous Banana Foster (that is only offered as a 2person dish). It was ok, in the end its just Banana and vanilla ice cream so not too exciting in flavors. But the experience in the flambay at the table was fun to watch.

I have been a fan of Dickie Brennan's for years and have gone to many of his other restaurants but never got to go to his namesake before this trip.
It did NOT disappoint.
The gnocchi was soft and delicious, the duck was phenomenal, and the fish special was flaky and perfect.
Not to mention that the service was the perfect combination of attentiveness and southern charm. This is now a must every time we visit the city.
Catherine Nikkel
We enjoyed a beautiful + delicious brunch here over the weekend + you will want to make reservations! Service was so attentive and friendly .- knew the menu exceptionally well + accommodated for gluten free suggestions/requests.
The “bubbles” were delicious, environment a bit dated but still an incredible experience.
After all, Nicholas Cage was also here for brunch with his family, so that could also say something about the quality.
Definitely recommend!
cori clark
The best brunch ever! The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. It was so good we went 2 days in a row and made sure we had the same server (bartender). She was so knowledgeable about the menu, building and history of the area. 10/10 recommend.

If you're ever in New Orleans and you've not been, you need to try Brennan's!! The breakfast is amazing and don't think about leaving without having their WORLD FAMOUS BANANAS FOSTER - Bananas, Butter, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Rum, New Orleans Ice Cream Co. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Flambéed Tableside professionally prepared at your table. Oh, and stop out back to see the turtles in the atrium. The kids will love it!

Best Eggs Benedict & the Bananas Foster performance is spectacular. Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful decor! It’s great for Afternoon tea or a lunch date.
Tom Catyb
Service, very good. Food, great. But...
Oyster shell in gumbo was blown off by servers. Then after bananas foster was made and played, we had to watch ice cream melt until we asked for spoons. NO EXCUSE for that at all. Oyster shell. Didn't want anything except recognition that it was there. Instead it was just picked up and disposed of.

Brennan’s was so incredibly amazing, regardless of how redundant that sounds. Where to even begin?
Food: Out of this world! The Beef Tenderloin was superb. 10/10 recommend. My dad had the duck, my husband had fish and my mom had turtle soup and all of the above exceeded their expectations. The bananas foster was such an experience not just in taste but in show.
Service: Maxwell and Lyniha were the epitome of perfection. Lyniha kept refilling water and eyeing our table as she cleaned tables around us. She always made sure to attend to us whenever she could anticipate a request arising. She’s simply amazing. Maxwell had a wonderful personality and was extremely attentive, as well! He was so friendly and helpful throughout our time at Brennan’s. Also, the hostess tonight literally held the door for us upon exiting. It’s the small things that really count!
THIS is what hospitality is supposed to be. My family and I are so happy we dined here tonight. Thank you, Brennan’s!
Danielle Segall
Lovely atmosphere and great staff - remember to reserve in advance to avoid a wait! The wagyu beef was tender and excellent, as was the tuna. My favorite part was something like a rice pudding with truffle, amazing! Enjoy the banana foster as well!!
Suja John
I loved the blackened redfish entree!! It was very flavorful and out of this world! Also loved the flambé and banana’s foster. Will definitely go back. This restaurant is a must try if you are in New Orleans.

Always a great time at Brennan's. This is my kids favorite place in New Orleans. We make at least one or two visits while in town. Service is impeccable, food is amazing, ambiance is elegant southern. I highly suggest making reservations in advance and be ready to have an experience. If you go to breakfast/ brunch it could take 2 + hours depending on how many courses you order. We got oysters, eggs benedict, eggs hussarde, gumbo, steak tartare. Our server was Kendrick since we met him last year he was so special to our kid, helping her feed the turtles. Well he's now been ascended we're so happy for him and thankful for his splendid service along with his team during our stay halloween weekend. Thank you for making our anniversary celebration extra special.

Stopped by and wanted to have breakfast, but nothing on the menu was appetizing to me. I wish I tried the Gazpacho or Seafood Gumbo but decided on a glass of Champagne and side of bacon.
The service was awful!!!! Not once did he check on how I was doing and / or say thank you for stopping by. Horrible, horrible horrible, service and mind you. I dine out every day, and this has been the worst experience for me.

An amazing dining experience! Can’t miss the pink wall of Brennan’s as you’re walking on Royal Street. I made an online reservation for two for a Saturday night. We were seated in the Queen’s room, which featured a gorgeous blue wallpaper and photos of past Mardi Gras queens!
Service was extremely prompt and attentive. I started with a fall cocktail, the Scarlett old fashioned ($13)with Rye, Sweet Potato Syrup, Angostura, Orange.
For appetizers, we got the turtle soup ($13) and seafood gumbo ($13). The staff was able to split the two appies in two so we were able to try them both! As the other reviews stated, both these dishes were quite salty… but still very delicious and flavourful. The turtle soup was so unique with the aged sherry on top enhancing its flavors. The seafood gumbo had a great amount of shrimp and oysters. Both very tasty!
For the main entree, I got the lobster creole ($40). Florida Spiny Lobster, Creole Tomato Sauce, Mirliton-stuffed Head… phenomenal. Each bite of lobster tasted so fresh and the tomato sauce was tangy, sweet and went well with rice. The stuffed head was also very unique and delicious with rich umami.
At this point we were stuffed but had to try their famous banana foster! Loved the table side presentation - be sure to eat it fast or it’ll melt quick! Simple but delicious.

Absolutely fantastic. One of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. The beef tenderloin was cooked the perfection and the braised short rib was bursting with flavor. The Bananas Foster was amazing, and a great experience having it cooked table side.
The atmosphere was so great, incredible service from the moment you walk in the door to when you leave.
Our experience was so good, we booked a reservation for brunch.
Leslie Molson
I had a superb birthday dinner here last week. Their chef, Ryan Hacker, really knows how to add interesting flavors and textures to traditional creole dishes. And their dessert chef is amazing. Best dinner I've had in quite a while.
Also, kudos to the dessert chef! The peach sorbet was delicious and the presentation was superb.
Jay Finesilver
I didn't love my brunch there. Food was interesting but not exceptional. For the price, it should have been. Small steak w steak and eggs, no question from the server of what temperature I wanted it. $41. The place seemed tourist friendly but tourist weary too from the severs. Suggest going for dinner versus breakfast or brunch.
Nicole R
I attended a farewell brunch in the King’s room and it was amazing. The bbq shrimp was delicious. The bacon had the perfect crisp. The eggs weren’t the best but they weren’t horrible. Biscuits were thick and fluffy. I enjoyed everything in our 3 hour reservation and it was worth the price. They seemed to rush to clean in hour 2 of the reservation even though there wasn’t another event after ours. It’s $2 per slice to cut the cake and they kept asking to do it. The room was decorated so well, we didn’t need additional decorations. There were some final invoice issues but they were quickly resolved.
Pros: beautifully decorated, delicious food, attentive captains.
Cons: Felt rushed in the middle of our reservation, $2 per slice to cut the cake, invoice issues, $3.50 cup of soda with no refills.
Kelsey Dowling
Amazing food and fantastic service! Highly recommend and would come back when we visit NOLA again. Came for brunch and left happy. Ordered the apple appetizer and the croque madame. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Definitely worth it!
James Wang
The home of the original Banana's Foster, Brennan's offers an exciting menu of food options. They are known for their Eggs Hussard with coffee-cured Canadian bacon and rich Hollandaise sauce. Their eggs were perfectly runny.
Their house coffee was French-pressed and tastes best hot and black. There are small bits of coffee grinds inside which adds a nice texture.
For the bananas foster, you'll need to order at least two, but the server will flambé the bananas in front of you with the rum, butter, sugar, and cinnamon.
While the restaurant is pricey, I would recommend going to try the delicious food.
Maria Salazar
This is a really neat restaurant with different theme rooms. The food was amazing and delicious. We had the French toast OMG AMAZINGGG. I’ve never had anything like it’s a must try as a starter. I had the omelette with shrimp with the homemade creole sauce was delicious. It was way better than your typical marinara sauce. My partner had the egg Benedict with bacon. As the dessert I had the s’mores omg if I couldn’t think things could get better it certainly did. It had perfectly burned marshmallows, ice cream, graham cracker, fudge, and sprinkled chocolate with taffy.

Every time we come to New Orleans brunch at Brennan’s is a must. This time we were served by Shelaine (sorry if I butchered that spelling)
She was kind, attentive and made us feel right at home. We truly felt like we got the star treatment. As always the food was fantastic. We had the strawberry and creme, the croque madame and eggs Benedict. Then topped it all off with the famous bananas foster. Can’t wait to go back!
Van Nguyen
A high-class brunch spot with an intimate atmosphere and spectacular kitchen and wait staff. Antoine made our celebration perfect.
Phyllis Washington
Their chef, Ryan Hacker, really knows how to add interesting flavors and textures to traditional creole dishes. And their dessert chef is amazing. Best dinner I've had in quite a while. Also, kudos to the dessert chef! The peach sorbet was delicious and the presentation was superb.
Denise Connelly
I went for lunch and had the redfish - delicious! Staff was super nice. I recommend a reservation; I sat in the bar because I didn't. Also, you can pick up a bananas foster king cake!
Sean Wagoner
Brennan’s is my favorite brunch spot in New Orleans. Their cocktails/bourbon selection/food/dessert and service are exceptional and I would recommend to anyone who is visiting.
J Garth
When you are in town, you must stop by to eat. You can't go wrong with breakfast. Everything is fantastic, not a bad dish served here. Bananas foster with breakfast, of course!
Anthony M
Didn't dine in as we really were excited for the bananas foster. Went straight to the bar for drinks & the dessert and didn't disappoint. One of the best desserts we had while in Nola.
gloria turner
No dining room availability but was able to get in the rooster s bar in Brennan s

Bananas Foster Birthplace was well worth the trip! This is what we came for and we were not disappointed! We were treated like royalty on this amazing dining experience, not just an address!
Mark Wilson
The server during the day who Can do the banana Foster's flambeau is phenomenal. This is the best eggs Benedict I've ever had keep up the good work thank you
Leora Winter
This was by far the best birthday dinner I've ever had! I felt so special and so loved by people I have never met before in my life! That's an experience I wouldn't trade for the world! Everything about tonight was absolutely perfect! The food was incredible too! Best steak I've ever had! And of course the beautiful bananas foster and the cotton candy mound were a sweet touch to an amazing evening 🍌💕
Alexa
Beautiful place, wonderful food, lovely people. The staff was very friendly and attentive, food was great, first time trying turtle soup and was so good. Will be back to try the bananas foster!
Chris Riches
Fantastic, warm, friendly service, lovely ambience, incredible food! I’ve been there before for dinner but today it was breakfast - for 6 of us. We had a huge round table with infinity water refills… 5 had eggs Benedict which was served with perfectly runny yolks and a wonderful hollandaise sauce. Afterwards 2 of us had the amazingly rich flambéed bananas. I’ll highly recommend Brennans for dinner and now for breakfast. It was me and my wife’s Golden Wedding Anniversary and we were treated to a glass each of pink champagne.
Aydin Eyvazzade
Design of the restaurant is really good. Service was decent. However I did not like the food. Whether that was my fried rabbit particularly or the oil they use, I just stayed hungry.
Waylon Lu
This is a review of the Thanksgiving brunch experience we had and may not necessarily be reflective of their usual dining service. First, the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The live music is always fun to experience. Food was a bit disappointing for our party of four adults and a toddler. Turtle soup was pretty good. But across the board, the mains were acceptable but nothing memorable. My fish was rather dry. I recall a similar dining experience a few years ago and would have awarded four stars overall for the ambiance, but the service was quite lacking from our waiter in particular. He was not familiar with the menu, delivered the wrong food, and was not responsive when we noted that we may need to hurry our courses as our toddler would get quite restless. He proceeded to serve all the tables around us before serving ours. First to arrive and last to leave due to the robotic service level. A manager did check in to make sure things are okay, but unfortunately our waiter was just highly disappointing.

Just spectacular from start to finish. Great service, beautiful setting, amazing food and drinks. The brunch was a winner. We sat in the dining room overlooking the patio and that gave us the best of all worlds. The blintzes were delicious! We had the eggs Benedict traditional and in the red wine sauce. Both were first class. Ended with bananas foster of course. It never disappoints!

Amazing building and very good food and drinks. Had a set menu for a bachelor party. Sat in a private room with separate lounge. Was wonderful

Found an amazing place for brunch actually my girlfriend found an amazing place for brunch as she was looking for it she said Joshua this is your type of food. So start it off with beef tartar that had a potato waffle underneath black garlic aioli beef tartar radishes and some type of greenery on top amazing. Then I had a version of the eggs benedict with the spinach on the base a red tomato a base Hollandaise sauce poach eggs and potato wedges. Outdoor seating was amazing to see the fountain that had turtles in it.

AMAZING. I will think about the food here for the rest of my life. Beautiful atmosphere and wonderful food. 10/10. I definitely need to come back to New Orleans just to eat here again!
Kent Byers
Absolutely amazing. Went for dinner, returned the next morning for breakfast. If you're visiting New Orleans and you don't experience dinner or breakfast at Brennan's, you missed out! *****
Gina Evans
I appreciate fine dining and this place did NOT disappoint. As guests from out of town, I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The food was BEYOND amazing. Our server, Antoine was the consummate professional, but he made us feel like family. I'd come back to New Orleans just to come to Brennan's.
Ana Monge
Place was absolutely beautiful. The staff were super attentive and courteous. Definitely a place you want to dress up in a nice casual outfit. The food was top knotch. We were a party of 4 so we all got different entrees to share. My favorite were the cow cheeks and the stuffed lobster. If I had to come back and choose again I would choose the stuffed lobster for sure. If we're are talking about dessert just get the banana foster because they prepare right in front of you with an amazing story behind it. Don't get any other dessert just Don't! Why did I give a 4 star . Well as fancy as it was and "upscale" our table was very wobbly and the waiter fixed it by putting a napkin on one of it's legs. I just felt that was a little tacky. I would have preferred taken to another table as I requested but never happened. Other than that everything was amazing.
Rebecca Brinkman
Wow! What an experience! I came here for happy hour on the 4th of July and was warmly greeted by Sterling. I took a seat at the bar and ordered a Bananas Foster. I was told the story behind the dessert by my server and was impressed with the enthusiasm as she told the story. From beautiful decor to top notch service and food, I recommend this place to anyone wanting a unique experience!!!!
Cedric Rogers
Great Atmosphere and Food with a perfect wait staff. Alexa was Amazing. Very generous portions at a really good price.
Imelda Acidera
The turtle soup was amazing as well as the eggs hussard. Loved the interiors and the ambiance.
Maribeth Boyd
Fantastic experience. Our party of two walked in without reservations for Saturday brunch, and we were accommodated with a little wait.
The Irish coffees, steak tartare, duck confit hash, and eggs Hussarde were delicious. We were too full for the bananas foster but saw the tableside flambe for other guests. It is a cool experience that we will be returning for soon!
Krissy Castillo
Nice place for brunch. Service was kinda slow, but food was A+. I recommend the Brandy Milk Stout cocktail to start.
Steve Fergerson
Service was excellent and so was the presentation and taste of the banana's foster. You would think that for lunch for 2 costing over $100 the food would be awesome but it was not. Neither the fish or the chicken have any taste and were not seasoned at all. Seems that Brennan's is resting on it's laurels and reputation. They really need to step up the quality of their food to come in line with their service and deserts.
Bryan Faw
Top notch service with attentive staff who are knowledgeable, efficient, and fast. However, you never feel rushed. When I had to work in last minute dinner plans they bent over backwards to help, and for my friend's birthday they threw some special attention and made her day. We had brunch with the eggs hussarde, eggs sardou, croque madame, turtle soup, strawberry crepes (seasonal). The ingredients were high quality and ingredients creatively creole. The birthday girl was given some home spun cotton candy with some cake and and ice cream hidden underneath along with the signature peacock on birthday bib. They also gave us a free appetizer of steak tar tar compliments of the chef. We ate there several times during our stay and would happily return.
L K
It was typical American breakfast. Banana foster was thr highlight of it all and it was really good.
Cassi Mott
This isn't dinner, it is an experience. We went for our 2nd wedding anniversary / my husband's 30th birthday - they treated us to complimentary champagne (with a heavy pour), tastes of beef tatar, a towering cotton candy surprise, and Brennan's apron. The food was incredible. The drinks were well mixed with great flavor. And the banana foster was made in front of us to order, and oh so mouth watering. Shout out to our waiter Jorie who crushed it and gave us great conversation throughout the evening
Lindsay Aiello
I had the Elderflower cocktail (the Hugo) and I had a banana foster. Brennan's is the home to this delicious dessert and the waiter brought out the oven to pan fry it right in front of me. It was caramelly perfection!
Paul Teddy
Went here last night for my birthday dinner and it was an incredible experience. Their attention and service was stellar - different members of the staff kept wishing me a happy birthday, it felt really special. Cocktails were well made and tasty. Every dish was well plated and delicious. We had the oysters, black bass, short rib, and Bananas Foster (a must). A birthday surprise was a huge ball of cotton candy with birthday candle. I can't stop thinking about how great of a time we had at Brennan's. They really nailed it and I'm very thankful.

Everything about this visit was excellent. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and made excellent suggestions for drinks/entrees. The food was flawless. Everything our group ordered was cooked to perfection and the bananas foster is to die for! I Will absolutely be coming back on my next visit to New Orleans!
Sarah Lowinger
Stupendous restaurant in New Orleans! The atmosphere is fun and inviting. We came here for brunch and the service is top notch and the servers are kind and attententive. The bananas foster is a must eat and they do it tableside! Make a reservation before your trip!

The originator of Banana's Foster! This place is an absolute must on your visit to New Orleans! Save Brennan's for last because it will make every other resturant seem like a disappointment. The service was impeccable. Our group of 9 spent about 3 hours in this fabulous, New Orleans appropriate decor. I loved the oyster dishes that decorated the walls. We got to truly enjoy this meal, not once were we made to feel rushed or like we wore out our welcome. Dessert is absolutely necessary here! Bananas Foster and the crepes were like a table side show. We were given the history of the famous desert as it was flambed in front of us. We ordered a bottle of Moet & Chandon Rose, enjoyed a few Bloody Marys followed by Bourbon Milk Punch. It is a good thing that drunk people walking down Bourbon Street is the norm! Is it truly a vacation if there isn'ta little day drinking? Literally everything we ordered was amazing! Pro tip... There is a "dress code", fortunately for thoes that do not like to dress too formally it basically just excludes athletic shorts. ENJOY!

We made reservations 2 weeks out and I was really looking forward to this meal. For the cost I was sorely disappointed. My friend and I ordered the Lobster Creole with a garden salad. The salad cost $14 and was the smallest salad I have ever seen. The flavor was very good, but not worth the cost. Our lobster creole consisted of 6 little pieces of lobster and a couple of table spoons of creole sauce. The lobster was very chewy and I would not order this again especially considering the cost of over $40. The saving grace was the main reason I had chosen Brennans and that was the bananas foster which was prepared table side and was well worth the $12 it cost for the show and the dessert. Very good service, but I do believe for what you get prices are a bit out of touch with what they should be.

Delicious brunch today with Edward at the Roost bar. Food delicious, service is impeccable. We are going to come back for the bananas foster.
Samantha Neidholt
Came here for a late brunch and was not dissatisfied! Wait staff absolutely 💯, drinks 💯, food 💯 💯 💯. Wear a mask and show your Vax card! Easy peasy. …
Adriana Rakshana
Great place to try out the bananas foster! The service was really great. Might be a bit expensive to come often but a great place to try out for a special occasion. Tried out the turtle soup, grits, and the bananas foster

We had a wonderful time dining here during our honeymoon in 2021. The staff was attentive and made our dinner an experience!

I had a fried chicken breast that was below average, my mistake. I should have gotten eggs benedict.. everything else was exceptional. The Banana's Foster was by far the best dessert I had in Nola. Our waiter was off the chain, very good. I would definitely eat at Brennan's again.

A must visit when visiting New Orleans. Dining here is consistently good for many years. Reserve early as it gets packed.

I would say that the only thing I'm impressed by is the food. The food is absolutely amazing but the service was very slow and you had to ask multiple times for something. For example, our table needed more cream and sugar for our coffee and we had to ask four times before they finally brought them.

I really didn't want to rate this place because I don't want anyone to know about it. I want to keep it all to myself. Visiting from Houston a coworker of my husband's recommended this place for brunch. Whoa we were not disappointed. Service was some of the best we've ever had. She was very patient with us as I was undecided from the get go. So because of that we did decide to start with the Brioche French Toast appetizer. Crunchy on the outside and creamy, custardy on the inside. With the homemade whipped cream and the bourbon soaked peaches it was a scrumptious way to start the brunch.
I finally chose to try something new and went with the Mississippi Fried Rabbit. It was my first time eating rabbit so I was a bit hesitant. I will definitely eat it again as long as someone makes it as good as they do. The crust was again crispy, the eggs perfectly prepared over easy like I like them, omg the potatoes and carmelized onions were sweet and yummy. Overall some of the best brunch food I've ever had. My husband had the Eggs Hussard. The hollandaise was perfectly balanced between the richness of the butter and egg yolk against the acidity of the lemon. Egg was poached well and the Canadian bacon was tasty. The English muffin wasn't too toasted that you had to yank it apart to get a perfect bite. We will be back but we won't tell our friends because we don't want anyone to go 😉
Highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

Home of the banana foster. Fine dining with excellent service one of New Orleans best and oldest.

Amazing dinner place in NOLA. Made reservations weeks ahead of our trip to NOLA and so glad we did. They do take minimal walk-ins but you may have a long wait time on popular days/weekends.
While you walk in to this restaurant, you immediately are wowed by their ambience. We were seated indoor and ordered their Classic Sazerac, Oysters J'aime, Tomato & Melon Gazpacho & yes their famous (rightly so) Banana Foster. I devoured their oysters in a very nice tomato sauce it was divine. My friend enjoyed the tomato/melon gazpacho as well. The banana foster though was next level deliciousness. Them making the banana foster in front of you makes it all the more special but the dessert is amazing and totally worth the hype. Service was great and I would highly recommend visiting this place when in NOLA. You cannot skip the pink building while roaming around Bourbon street.

Update: service was wonderful as was the food.
Some friends were visiting from out of town, and the wife wanted breakfast from here. Everything was beautiful. The wait staff was friendly and informative. The food was impeccable. Everything was just so clean and upscale. I felt like royalty dining here. I look forward to bringing future visitors here. It just was fancy.

Brennan's is great for brunch, at this point we wanted eggs and this place did not disappoint, Eggs Hussarde were great and the blinx was tangy and tasty, coffee, bread, kids menu also great. Waiter was so good. Bananas foster is a must, and I really enjoyed the milk punch. However they should work on clearing tables before bringing more food, plates were piling up and we had to stack them on top of each other. But this is a must place to go in NOLA.
Dion Mills
It's nice enough here and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is ok but not enough for what you pay in my opinion.
Nicholas Cho
Stopped in for lunch without a reservation and was able to get a table right away at the bar. Dress code thankfully was not enforced with the restaurant perhaps half full. Best gumbo we've had so far and the turtle soup was pretty interesting. Great service and ambiance. Came back the morning before our flight to grab a final bite of gumbo and had to wait about 30 min to be seated at the bar again in the morning
Steve Unszusz
For a restaurant with such notoriety I was underwhelmed. The service was average and the food was fine but absolutely nothing special. Nothing creole or Cajun about this place and barely southern. The turtle soup was less than warm and tasted like chili. The steak was not tender and the redfish was frankly mediocre. Very over rated and not worth the money nor the time. Can't believe this restaurant was up for restaurant of the year. Not worthy of the nomination
Hannah Hoang
This establishment was absolutely gorgeous. The service was magnificent. Our waiters took great care of us. From telling us backstories to famous celebrities who dined here to explaining the food options. The waiter was even nice enough to ask the kitchen to cook up some french fries even though it was not on the menu for myself (a picky eater). The drinks were splendid. The food was very unique as well. The bathroom was clean and aesthetic. There was a self-playing piano for music.
Erik Davis
Thank you to Kendrick and your team for your outstanding service for our 9am brunch on Saturday. I wish I had more room to have you prepare the Bananas Foster as I know that is what your restaurant is known for. Next time I will make sure to not eat my entire entree!
Vanessa S.
New Orleans has a lot of beautiful restaurants to offer but Brennan’s was my number one!
The entire interior is so gorgeous, I really enjoyed our time there. Even though some rooms inside are currently not open, it was wonderful sitting in the patio. We went in the afternoon and had the pleasure to be right in time for champagne offer and we ordered 2 bubbly cocktails for 7$ each. Awesome!
We also had the French fries with saffron aioli which were so so good.
Highly recommended!!

This is my first time visiting Brennan's. From the moment we walked inside we felt like we took a step back in NOLA time. Mark was an excellent bartender - so good we just ate brunch at the bar. Be sure to try/share a few starters! Both the bloody mary and mimosa were excellent - and be sure to get a pot of chicory coffee! I suggest making reservations - we just got lucky and found 2 people who finished up at the bar and we got their seats!
Alicia Farrar
I first heard of Brennan's in a cookbook my Cajun Mom has had for as long as I have been alive. It featured a recipe for bananas foster. It gives props, of course, to the original creators. When I came to New Orleans, this was the only restaurant I HAD to visit. And it did not disappoint. From their iconic turtle soup to the innovative cocktails, amazing entrees, and (naturally) bananas foster this restaurant is a must for anyone visiting New Orleans.
David Steinbach
Charming environment. Amazing food. Our server was Terry and she was a delight. Made us feel special and welcome the entire time. If you’re in town Brennans is a must. Ask for terry!
Ian Coffey
Anyone that enjoys Banana's Foster like I do, has to come here. Great staff and great food. New Orleans staple.
William Mena
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service!

Went for a birthday day trip, on January 15, 2023. Had the tasty gumbo, however the portion could have been more. Also, enjoyed the salad with what tasted to be a lemony, creamy dressing. This too could have been a larger portion. Both dishes were simple and flavorful. I was not stuffed after this meal. Dare I say...Still a tad bit hungry. It's a little pricey for the portion amount. My fellow guest enjoyed the fried fish, eggs and spinach dish, but didn't like the cocktail, which featured Creme de menthe.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I was pleased with our server's performance. The different rooms were decorated nicely. The bar had ample seating and appeared to be fully stocked. The ladies' room was well stocked and clean.
I wished we could have been seated in the courtyard, but the hostess stated it was too cool. I didn't make a reservation. The online reservation service stated no seats were available for my party. It was 2 of us. However, that was not the case. We were walk-ins and there was plenty of seating available. We were immediately sat after walking in.
Marion Stork
Breakfast dishes are mostly traditional but with a big twist. Duck confit hash was kinda crazy to read about. But it was really good. Ever had poached eggs over fried fish and creamed spinach?? Amazing twist to eggs Benedict . You better try it.
Darryl M. Bell
One of the finest dining experiences...ANYWHERE! Yes you will enjoy the food, but this is where Banannas Foster originated! So after the lobster, blackened fish, chicken or any of the other amazing dishes, save room for the Bananas Foster! Facts!
Kasandra
Impeccable service and amazing food! I had the Black Bass which melted in my mouth! Everything was cooked to perfection and good and drinks came in a timely manner. The sazerac drink my boyfriend had he rated 10/10. I had the Iris and it was delicious. The coffee with dessert was the best way to end the night! The women’s bathroom is super cute and a must see! Will be coming here every future New Orleans visit!
Sharon Lloyd
Brunch was fabulous. And our waiter was very helpful and helped us select the perfect meal for what each of us were craving for that day. Elegant decor and very attentive wait staff.
Kristina Parsons
5 stars for everything..Ambiance, Service, food and the cute turtles!

Great service
Food was just ok , missing some flavors
Krutika Simon
A nice place to sit down and have dinner. They have a nice courtyard where you can sit and enjoy your meal. We enjoyed the caesar salad, potato salad, and gumbo as appetizers. We also ordered the sea bass and tenderloin. The bananas foster was the best!
Amanda Cowette
What a wonderful place!! Worth the trip and the price. The turtle soup is so rich and flavorful, perfect for this chilly day. The red snapper was the perfect lunch dish. My partner had the steak and eggs and it was so tender! Our server at the bar area was so friendly and helpful. We will come back again for the banana fosters, the table next to us got them so we were able to watch the show and hear about the history.
Rattan Amol Singh Sidhu
King was not that good but the drinks and banana foster is fantastic!
Taylor Simoes
I would give Brennans 100 stars if I could! David, the manager, and Doug, our waiter, were the most welcoming, wonderful people. And the food was DELICIOUS!! I can’t recommend highly enough.
Winnie Xu
Good service and lovely menu. Food is pretty basic, but good. The banana foster dessert is what they're known for, it was tasty and not too sweet.
Mishaal Alq
This restaurant is the best. Highly recommended. We went for breakfast. The place is beautiful. The food is delicious. We had eggs Hussarde, eggs Sardou, and very delicious dessert! I can’t remember the name.
Jordan Offutt
First off this is a higher end establishment and is priced accordingly. That being said, price is only an issue in the absence of value and this place was definitely worth the price for the value.
Service was impeccable for the entire visit. At the entrance the door was opened and held for us. The host station took our name and number for contact tracing. The server was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and made several recommendations for both drink and food. Our water glasses never ran empty and the entire brunch experience was very enjoyable.
Food -
Bloody mary was very good with an average amount of spice.
The brioche french toast appetizer just hit every single note of perfection. The cream balanced against the plum sauce which married with the sweetness of the brioche. The sauce was allowed to soak throughout the bread. This appetizer was worth the trip alone. But there's so much more.
Oysters J'Amie were phenomenal. The tomato creole sauce was my favorite sauce of the day by far. It had further uses outside of the oyster dish which I'll get to.
Eggs Hussarde was a very good benedict dish. The coffee bean added a smokiness to the ham and the eggs were perfectly poached.
I got a side of the Brabant Potatoes. They tasted very buttery, but outside of that, they were just crispy potatoes. If I could give one feedback to the house, it would be to offer a side dish of these potatoes with the same tomato gravy used on the Oysters J'Amie.... That was an amazing combination.
We finished off with the Chocolate Pecan Pie. The chocolate, the bourbon, the crust.... The crust was so buttery and the pineapple sorbet on the side was the perfect palette cleanser when it got too rich.
Everything on these plates went together and had a lot of thought in how they balanced and lifted the entire dish. This is a must do if it is in your budget.

I made reservations a month prior to come here and enjoy Bananas Foster with my wife. I was a little wary about how we would be treated since we just came for birthday desert and not a full dinner with drinks. A lot of places would be disappointed, but not only were they gracious hosts, Rashad provided some of the best service I have experienced anywhere. This is by far one of the most beautiful, delicious, dynamic, and friendly restaurants I’ve been to in the world. And my wife had an amazing birthday. Thank you Brennan’s! We’ll be back!
Lia P.
Wonderful find in french quarter! We had gumbo soup, turtle soup, scallops and a duck. Everything was great except I did not liked the duck, it was too raw for me with funny aftertaste, but they gladly replaced it with scallops which were wonderful.
The place seems to have higher safety precautions, everyone wore a mask. Ambiance was so romantic, I was in love with their unique plates on the wall.
Our server was the best I had in years, very attentive and took care of me with my diet restrictions, I wish I remembered her name.
Bottom line, I wish that place was located in my city so I can come back to it every week:)
Canh Tran
Truly a dining experience. All the items we ordered were good, including the banana foster that we came for. Service was phenomenal and all the dishes were very well presented and tasted great.
Definitely some of the best dishes we had in New Orleans and Max perfected our experience.
Susan Baranoff
One of the best dining experiences in many years. Every bite of every dish was perfect. On a Tuesday night we were able to be seated in the lounge without reservations, but don't count on that! Impeccable service. Excellent bartender. Make sure you have the Bananas Foster, they were invented here!
Jim Moring
Brunch with my oldest Daughter. French Toast with Strawberries, Brennan's own killer Eggs Benedict and a croissant. Excellent coffee roasted for the restaurant. Impeccable service
Julius S
Reservations are recommended, but walked-in for brunch on a Friday morning and was seated within a few minutes. We got a table near the self-playing piano which added to the great atmosphere. Also, our server was amazing! He made great suggestions and was very knowledgeable on the menu.
We started off with the roasted gulf oysters which was perfectly roasted and had a good crisp crust layer. My wife and I got the Eggs Owen and Eggs Cardinal to share. The braised short rib was delicious in the Eggs Owen. I especially enjoyed the hollandaise and crispy shrimp in the Eggs Cardinal.
We ended the meal with their famous bananas foster. It was delicious but I think it’s a bit too much when a couple has to order one each to meet the minimum serving requirement.
Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely want to come back!

On a weekend when in the French Quarter or Jackson Square, attending Brennan's is a must ⚜️
They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, handicap accessible. Each atmosphere is superb in their unique ambiance.
I recommend booking a reservation.
Both their brunch and dinner menus are delectable. Their Bananas Foster is divine 🙊
Each staff member was kind and uniquely charismatic. They truly care about your experience.
Thank you 💚💝

Great experience. This location is close to all the action in New Orleans. Almost the perfect spot to start your day with a few local dishes. I started with brandy milk punch to drink which was a new experience for me I had never had it before but it was amazing. I got the turtle soup (yes its real turtle) with their brioche French toast for my meal. Both dishes were amazing the turtle soup was so great more tender than I expected and the French toast is some of the best I have ever had it was the perfect balance of sweetness. Make sure to have this place as part of your visit!
Jay Clark
Turtle soup was excellent and it went downhill from there. Nothing else was exceptional. The staff was also off putting and slow. And they were fighting with each other! It was a very odd experience eating brunch at the bar. To spend that kind of money I’ll stick to Commanders.
Michael Barton
Brennan's is a NOLA staple for multiple reasons. The breakfast and brunch are killer! The drinks really hit the spot. I've never had turtle soup but theirs turned me into it. The egg dishes are fantastic. Be sure and save rooom for the bananas foster (minimum two persons to order). Try the French 417 if you want a refreshment or a punch if you're feeling something heavier.
Alicia Ortiz
My favorite restaurant for breakfast or brunch. Their food is outstanding as well as the coctails. Waus order the Banana Foster as dessert. It is made in front of clients. The staff Is the best educated amd amicable. Love it
chris matthews
Everything was amazing. The only complaint I have is there is a serious uocharge for chargrilled oysters they don't tell you about. A dozen raw posters is about $36. We were charged $75 for a dozen chargrilled! A heads up would have been nice.
Kathy Fox
Fabulous dining experience. Classy and elegant tradition. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was top notch, and the ambiance was upscale. Totally admit we went for the bananas foster, but also had dinner if you get my drift. I did not order a starter (ate too many of the warm fresh rolls), but my husband ordered the creole Caesar salad, very good he said. I ordered the smoked scallops and my husband got the gulf fish amandine for our entrees. Both were delicious. The table next to us ordered the Steak Diane, which was prepared table side and it smelled wonderful. If you are in the mood for a beef entree I’d say order that. Now it’s dessert time. Bananas foster, prepared table side, was awesome and seriously could have eaten two serving. Fresh bananas cooked in brown sugar and butter with rum and banana liqueur with a pinch of cinnamon, YUM!!! If you can’t make it for dinner, at least stop by in the afternoon for drinks and bananas foster. Brennan’s is a must while in NOLA! Make sure to make a reservation in advance too for dinner.
Dawn Jones-Pickett
Food was good. Service was a little slow and forgot a few things but great personality. Overall, it was a nice brunch with a very limited menu.
Shanelle S
Upscale restaurant and birthplace of the bananas foster dessert. Came here strictly for dessert after dinner, because I’ve seen multiple recommendations to get the bananas foster here. We got seated without a reservation around 8pm. The service was really friendly and the server who made our bananas foster knew his audience. He made sure to countdown so we could capture the giant flame he made for the bananas foster for the ‘gram. He also gave us the background while cooking, so it was like dinner and a show! It’s $10/person for the bananas foster, 2 orders minimum. The ingredients are simple, but the execution is so well-done. We enjoyed the dessert a lot more than we thought we would. They have aperitifs as well, and the Irish coffee was nicely sweet with a kick. They gave us little mini sour candies at the end of the meal, which were also really chewy and yummy. Their dress code doesn’t allow for shorts or sleeveless T-shirts. Most of the people were dressed nicely. Overall, it’s an experience and a fun thing to do when you’re visiting New Orleans.
Grecia Plasencia
We stopped by for breakfast without knowing what to expect. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were escorted past the bar to a room in the back. We didn’t realize what a beautiful and gourmet restaurant we were at when we decided to stop, we were just hungry. Even though there is an exclusive feel to the restaurant and an upscale ambiance we didn’t feel unwelcome at all. In fact, as we were leaving we saw that there was a dress code and our son did not meet it, oops.
The breakfast food we ordered were the Brennan’s breakfast with the turtle soup, the French toast, and the baked apple with a side of potatoes. The turtle soup was fantastic, as were the eggs Benedict. The French toast was airy and delightful. The baked apple was also fabulous, I can see why it’s a specialty. Finally, the potatoes did not look like anything special but they were so flavorful and delicious.
We had a great breakfast experience and wish we would’ve known it was a more upscale establishment so we could’ve been better dressed for the occasion.
Paul Cheong
This is a high-end creole restaurant. The service was great. We were unfortunately under-dressed but they didn't turn us away. The food was underwhelming. The two fish dishes we got were actually pretty good, but the gumbo and the crab meat didn't impress. Maybe because they have pretty much no competition around for fine dining, but I wanted something more creative with great flavor. Instead, the food overall was palatable but not worth the price.
Mandy Kirby
Some of the most creative brunch dishes we have ever had. Unique eye opener drinks as well. Food was on point in every way. The cheery atmosphere is created through the uses of pastels and antique styles. Staff is very proper and considerate. Loved the waiter that did our bananas foster. He was animated and informative.
Micah Beverley
This place is so charming and beautiful. We had a wonderful experience for breakfast with Janet at the bar. She managed the whole bar was busy yet made everyone feel right at home and taken care of. She has a talent of getting people to talk to each other too! We ended up talking to everyone around us met a great local couple. We loved the place so much were coming back later tonight for dessert and purchased the cook book.
Stephen Zubrycky
A classic. One of the best brunches you will ever have. Service is beyond professional and accommodating. Atmosphere is timeless. And the food is amazing. Standard brunch offerings with a Cajun and seafood themed twist. And the bananas foster is to die for! A must go.
Jessica Wilder
I mean... this place has a reputation for a reason. Everything was above and beyond. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous and we had some of the best wait staff we had in all of New Orleans here! We came mainly for the bananas foster, which they prepared table side and was unbelievably good. My husband had turtle soup, which he loved. We also had a few cocktails as Bubbles at Brennan’s was happening while we were there- they were all delicious as well!
Lala A
I came here for brunch on a Monday. The experience was perfect from beginning to end. We didn't have reservations but since it was a Monday we were able to get straight in. Everyone was very friendly we came just before having to go to the airport they even had us put our luggage in a safe place so that we can eat comfortably at the table. We ordered the bbq shrimp as an appetizer. It was pretty delicious I love how the butter has the Brennan be sign to go perfect with the bread it is so soft and warm. I ordered the Owens Benedict which had short ribs Heavenly is all I can say. My my friend ordered the vanilla scented French toast, also Heavenly as the description. We ended with the Banana Foster as they came to our table to do the display. It was enjoyable to watch and even better to eat. I will definitely be returning, next time I'll try their dinner.
Michael Erin Strong
Yummy, charming, unique restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter. Get reservations if you want to try the home of Bananas Foster! You can sneak in for happy hour bites and half-priced bubbly, though.
The lemon ricotta pancake with mandarin oranges and fresh honey was sublime! I loved the lump crab three-egg omelette, too. Their french press coffee is excellent as well, but it's intense for western palettes.

Mister Brennan is rolling in his grave.
It is hard to rate the restaurant: if your usual fare is Red Lobster, you would give it 5 stars. If you expect anything approximating the original Brennan’s you’ll be horribly disappointed and even 1 star is too much.
We wanted to have a breakfast at Brennan’s. We visited the restaurant a couple of times before Katrina. Breakfast at Brennan’s (as Mr. Brennan intended) was a multi-hour exercise in over the board overindulgence. It used to be a thing. Not anymore.
The staff was trained by Red Lobster (RL). I feel for the waiter: 3 or 4 tables per server is OK for RL but Brennan’s used to have several people per table. They forgot to give use tea spoon and stirring coffee with a knife in Brennan’s is too much. Flagging down the waiter is nearly impossible.
Classical New Orlean’s coffee service (two kettles one with coffee one with warm milk) is no more. Coffee came in a mug, cold milk came in a tumbler. They were nice enough to warm up the milk after it was requested. It took sometime to flag down the waiter-
Turtle soup, the signature dish of Brennan’s was a gumbo. I mean horribly salty and peppery mess where one cannot taste the turtle meat or taste the broth is not a turtle soup.
Eggs Benedict and Eggs Hussarde was the next disappoint. Yes, RL uses vinegar to make it easier to poach the eggs. Brennan’s should not use such shortcuts: the eggs do not taste right. Both dishes came cold. Replacement Eggs Hussarde came as cold as the original.
We left.
It is not Brennan’s; it is an overpriced Red Lobster.

First off, make reservations at least a month in advance. We went for breakfast and this place was nothing short of amazing, from the impeccable service to the impeccable food. Started off with a delicious cup of coffee and their signature Caribbean milk punch, which was rather delicious. I ordered the eggs cardinal, and the presentation and flavor was flawless. We finished off with a complimentary bread pudding because it was our birthdays, and it proved to be the exclamation point at the end of a fabulous breakfast. If I ever go back to New Orleans, this will be my first stop in the morning.
Laura Ockel
Sunday brunch was excellent. The bananas foster was delicious and beautiful to watch as it was prepared! The vibe of the green and pink room was so energetic and quirky. Just look at the details of the murals! The decor is so unusual, and yet, so uniform. Brennan's was certainly a memorable New Orleans destination, and I would highly recommended it.
Kelly Nelson
This has been our favorite meal in NOLA on our girls trip! The atmosphere is fantastic, the service perfection and the food to die for!! We had riz au lait appetizer, rib eye, goat cheese and sheep feta ravioli, leek ash blackened red fish, garlic shrimp and OF COURSE bananas foster!! The chef sent out a mushroom truffle soup for us to sample which made us all wish it had been on the menu! AMAZING! We also sampled the snickers dessert which was tasty. Literally everything was amazing and delicious! You can’t go wrong with entrees but whatever you do, be sure to leave room for the bananas foster for dessert. Not only is it delicious but a very cool experience to get it in the restaurant where it was born and have it prepared and flambéed right at your table! This was definitely an evening out to remember! We got lucky and were able to walk in on a Sunday evening without a reservation but it’s worth going to the effort to make one! I HIGHLY recommend making this a priority on your visit to NOLA, especially if you’re seeing a live jazz show at Preservation Hall down the street. It will make for and evening to remember!

"How many Banana Fosters do you serve a day?"
Host: "About 5 million." Being the home of the first banana foster, we weren't surprised, even if he was joking. Upscale restaurant with a dress code. Delicious food in a dollhouse type atmosphere. Great service! A way to get banana foster but skip the dinner wait and hefty price is happy hour! They serve banana foster all day and their bar snacks are pretty delicious and way more affordable than dinner and brunch.
Sara Barbosa
This place is just wonderful, so much cultural heritage and beautiful decoration. There are many options of dishes for different appetites. Very fancy and traditional, great service and incredibly food. In my opinion the best restaurant in New Orleans. Highly recommend reserving a table first, avoid getting disappointed with long lines.
Jessica Cardoni
Listened to other reviews and because it was a little pricey we decided to go just for dessert... the bananas foster of course. SO GLAD WE DID!!! The staff was welcoming even though we saw couples and families dressed much nicer than we were they didn’t seem put off by it. I always like to let the staff know when I am going somewhere just for dessert so they can seat us accordingly. We got an absolutely adorable corner booth in the bar... I loved it!! I feel horrible that I do not remember our waitresses name but she did the bananas foster for us and with the story and the “show” it was a night to remember!
FineThingsFermented
Very well decorated and pleasant medium-high level cuisine. If you want a table here, book a day in advance during peak season. Totally worth it.
We had the snapping turtle soup, Brennan's breakfast, and peach french toast. All very high quality and tasty.
Le Va
Hello. This restaurant is located in the french quarter and it is the creator of the famous banana foster.
That was what I had. Yes, just came for that dessert, made by order. Sweet and delicious.
Restaurant looks nice. Outside patio. Electronic piano. Full bar. Two dinning rooms. Classic. Neat.
Provably I come for dinner next time.
My server/cook was mahlik. Thanks a lot sir!!!
Allison Tran (MochiBunny)
Classy but casual restaurant in the area with friendly and very accommodating servers and service. Food was great as well. Make sure you make reservations and don't wear anything too casual. Raspberry tea(?) was great. Definitely try to sit in the courtyard. Also, like everything else in town, it's a very historic building that they restored in 2013. They apparently created Banana Foster so definitely come get it here.
Olivia Rust
Amazing food and service. All the staff was great. The duck was cooked perfectly. Had to go with the bananas foster for dessert and we were not disappointed. It was classy, but didn't make me feel uncomfortable. I would recommend splurging on dinner here.
Corey LaCourse
My mom and went to this gem first thing in the morning to have breakfast on their outdoor enclosed patio courtyard. It was just BEAUTIFUL, we originally had planned on going to Antonio's but there menu was very limited as compared to Brennan's Menu, place the other place did not offer outside seating. We fell in LOVE with this restaurant and highly recommend it. The wait staff were extremely professional and very attentive, normally you would expect a delay in service because of sitting outside but this restaurant has a dedicated staff for this area. I ordered the Buddha Bowel for my starter, with French press New Orleans Coffee and the Eggs Cardinal with Orange Juice and Sparkling water, it was so good! My only regret is not ordering dessert but I was full and extremely satisfied.

We had the most wonderful brunch! EVERYTHING was perfect for our family! We will definitely be back again.
Lawrence Martinez
Great dinner! We were in town for a bachelor party and this restaurant offered everything to accommodate a large group. Most had steak (they had an off menu table side filet for 2 that was awesome!) and one had the red fish. Salad as a starter was great! Dessert was a fun show and delicious. The wall decor told an interesting story of Nola as well. Highly recommend!
Cyn K
100% classic style restaurant and worth every penny. Gorgeously decorated in a beautiful building with a central lush courtyard.
Our party of four had a breakfast on a Monday morning at 10 am. The restaurant was full. Greeted by a host and sat quickly in their green and pink room. A wall of windows into their courtyard create a beautiful natural atmosphere.
The staff of course are very professional and recede into the room so you can enjoy the Dining experience fully. A staff of 2 to 3 persons attend each table so that you are never without water, coffee or anything you may need.
We ordered off the breakfast menu. Chicory coffee (sublime), bruleed grapefruit (my favorite)the apple oatmeal, tarteliffe, goat cheese and crawfish crepes and of course the Bananas foster. ALL of it was exceptional! The juice of the day as well as the fresh baked bread served warm with a thin crispy crust topped it off.
A fantastic restaurant with every dollar!

So good. We ended our trip with breakfast/brunch at Brennan's and it did not disappoint. Excellent service, wonderful food and a beautiful environment. This really is a can't miss visit to New Orleans. French pressed coffee was a hit!
Katie LaFalce
Brennan's was amazing, my aunt told me adterwards how famous this place was for their breakfast after the fact, but my sister and I were originally just looking for a place to get banana's foster at via table side flambeau ( side note we got to full on breakfast, we couldn't fit it in) we will get it next time we visit. Food was great, and even though we weren't fully dressed up we did not get turned away. Very fancy inside though. Gorgeous!
Julie C
Amazing brunch! Husband got the baked apple and eggs Benedict, I got the seafood Benedict and we both got pressed coffee. Everything was just amazing. Would love to come here over and over. Beautiful building and courtyard area as well.
Keith Peterson
A+, highly recommend....completely worth the trip and the bananas foster lived up to the hype. Bloody Mary was spicey good and the benedict was perfect. Our amazingly awesome fosters chef, Jamie, was a lot of fun, see the pictures.
Megan Z
It’s a nice restaurant with nice and quite atmosphere! I went with my mom, both of us enjoyed our late lunch over there. Their services and their food definitely meet the standard of their restaurant. Especially the fish my mom ordered was terrific! The banana froster was great too.
Ahmad Moshrif
We made the reservation a few days ahead, because there were no vacancy. Now I knew why.
Outstanding food, service, and hosting.
We really enjoyed having our branch here.
Brilliant.
Ellen Johnson
Service was amazing and the food was great!
Jose Baldonado
The place is nicely decorated and has a patio area in back along with private rooms upstairs. We only came for the Bananas Foster and it was a bit of a disappointment. The taste was great but by the time they get the bananas ready (they flambe it next to your table) the ice cream is already soft and melted when they put the warm bananas and sauce on it. I would have preferred the ice cream to be freshly scooped after the bananas are prepared. Otherwise I'd come back to try the food but not the bananas foster again.
If all you want is dessert, sit at the bar and you can order it there.
Angela Cipriano
An iconic dining experience & this is the home of 🍌 Foster. We did not have reservations but actually arrived at the perfect time; the diningrooms were closing so we sat in the bar and were able to order from the regular kitchen menu & than also ordered from the happy hour menu (I think we got there around 1:30). The staff was exceptional and our meal was too.
J McBride
This place came highly recommended from friends and family for brunch, and it did not disappoint. The service is top notch, but obviously, you come for the food.
We started with the baked apple. Time tartness of the Granny Smith apple paired wonderfully with the sweetness of the caramel cream sauce.
If there is duck on the, I'm probably going to order it. To my surprise, the duck andouille took a back seat to the grits in the duck broth. I could have eaten something entire bowl of just that.
The Brandy milk punch and pear champagne cocktails were quite tasty as well.
Arthur MacNew (Art)
Everything was really good. The Bloody Mary was spot on, as was the chicory coffee. The egg dishes are done well with a nice runny yolk. My only critique would be the pastrami hash would do well with a courser cut of the meat. I would have liked to taste the pastrami on it's own or at least be more forward in the profile. Only a personal observation and by no means a shot at the dish itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here!!
Nat C
Legit wished I lived in NOLA so I could come here and eat here from time to time! The food and service are amazing! Get these items and you'll be solid! My boyfriend and I had an awesome brunch!
J.D. Bérénice Achille
We went to celebrate a birthday and it was a delicious and fun experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and nice.. We even got some tips for the rest of our visit in Nola. The gumbo was the best I had my entire trip to the French quarter. The banana daiquiri is also a must try!
Charlotte Hazout Reuveni
The place is beautiful, the service very nice but the food is a matter of taste and personal. The omelette à la creole wasn’t my taste as well as the eggs with spinach and cream, too creamy. I liked the gumbo more and I think that’s the thing I would recommend . Again quite pricey but if you are a tourist go for it .
Gwen Fluhr
The gumbo is fantastic melt in your mouth magic. The short ribs were delicious. The shrimp and grits were great, if you like thoroughly cooked shrimp. Deserts were super tasty.
John Hsieh
R.I.P. Ella Brennan. Having grown up in Southern California and frequented the Jazz Kitchen in Anaheim, Brennan is a very solid fine-dining type restaurant with multiple dining areas. The menu itself was very creative and uses some of the best ingredients available. To start, we had the frog legs and foie gras. The use of tempura batter for the frog legs was a very nice change from the usual frying batter found at nearby seafood joints. The foie gras itself was of very high quality and the texture combination with the cornbread was an absolute delightful "southern" twist. My wife's spring veggie salad was fresh. The main courses were the veal chop and the duck breast. Unfortunately, both dishes were just kind of meh (tasted overly salty). Well... we weren't really able to enjoy the meal at this point because a nearby table of 10 girls on their bachelorette party started getting really loud after getting a couple drinks in their system. The maitre d really should have placed these girls out in the courtyard. Oh well, restaurant management issues. Overall, the establishment is one of the better high-end establishments in French Quarters, and we highly recommend giving it a try.
Dave Bineesari
Great experience from start to finish. I ordered a Sausage Patty with my Breakfast Risotto and Biscuit. They didn't bring it out to me and I was thankful for it as I was absolutely stuffed! I'll go back here everytime.
Sofia Clariana
We went to Brennan's for Sunday brunch. Unfortunately we were the last seated table and we ate alone with all the cleaning happening around us. Service was very slow, it took 15-20 minutes for our coffee to arrive each time, one even came with the check, and we felt rushed. The food was nice and had beautiful dish compositions. The baked apple was delicious and the duck andouille very different and tasty. I recommend making reservations for earlier brunch.
Lena Ash
Had a foodgasm here. Best breakfast I've ever had. The chai tea was the drink of my dreams. Had the eggs benedict, also foodgasm. The apple was like an apple crisp that was next level.
Atmosphere is classy and proper, very fun wallpaper to give the place a kick, loved every second
max pierce
The original world famous bananas foster. What more could you ask for? Well how about a 4 star restraunt to serve them in.
This place was absolutely fanatistic. Its expensive but worth the price. I was in a group of 6 and everyone of us enjoyed our meals. They start you off with a drink menu and delicious dinner rolls. Then you can order appetizers and your meal. Then after that they bring you the desert menu.
We had the rolls, turtle soup, shrimp crepes, steak tar tar for appetizers. For the main course we had rabbit, scallops, the ribeye and one of the daily off the menu items the steak Diana. And for desert 6 servings of you guessed it bananas foster.
Overall the food was amazing, the atmosphere was rich, and the service was top notch. You have to dress up for this place, they prefer dinner jackets but are not required. I highly recommend this place if you can afford a $60+ tab per person.
Ashish Singh
Breakfast here is awesome. Make sure to make a reservation a few days ahead for Sunday brunch, they get booked very fast. We had breakfast both Sunday and Monday. Luckily we were able to find seats at the bar without a reservation on Sunday.
Kanae Malbrough
Came here for my birthday for Banana foster. The table was decorated with pink ribbons and for birthday cake, to my surprise they do cotton candy cake that ice cream and cake inside! It was soooo good. Service was fantastic and of course Banana foster was amazing.
IRONMAN27
Home of the original Banana's Foster and it didn't disappoint. This place was amazing. Absolutely loved the building. It's setup inside and old French Quarter home and it def gives you that authentic French Quarter feeling. We got the roasted oysters and the BBQ Lobster. Both were fantastic. I got the blackened redfish and the wife got the gulf fish. Was fantastic. For the dessert we got the bananas foster and they make it tableside which is a treat in it's own. Loved this place and will def come back. This was another one of our stops when we visited New Orleans in October for the Georgia/LSU game. If you enjoyed this review please be sure to hit the like button. Thank you!

Truly one of the better fine dining experiences in the French quarter. We sat at the bar and Allison our bartender made it an excellent experience. The oysters were the best in town and the entrees didn't disappoint. Striped sea bass, poullete rouge chicken and blueberry cheese lime crepes for dessert. Go for gold here, you can always weight yourself when you get back home.🐷😎👍
Kaylene
We went there for a wedding brunch and it was SO delicious!! They keep your drinks refilled and check in a lot. My 4 month old had a complete meltdown and the staff was so incredibly sweet and understanding about it. Love the food and staff.
A M
Monday morning brunch with two boys. Our server, Jamie, was accommodating to our children. They brought fresh fruit out to the boys without being asked. Everyone was focused on our experience. The coffee was single origin, French pressed delicious. Morning cocktails were delicious. The oyster j’aime were full of flavor. We recommend this place to everyone with and without children. Thank you for a great experience!
Keewi Haller
Awesome place- make sure to visit the restrooms 😊look at all the different dining halls! Chef was probably angry or something- the merchant de vin sauce was way too salty 😔. I will order a sauce on the side next time. …
Allison Beecher
We went to Brennan's in between their lunch and dinner seating, which was a great time to go. We found free street parking a block away (sunday afternoon) and were excited to get 4 seats at the bar for drinks and dessert! Our server/bar tender was super friendly, but forgot 1 of the 3 ingredients in my cocktail... I was too nervous to tell him, so I guess we are both at fault. Their dessert was quite tasty though! Even though they weren't doing a food service, we were able to order tableside bananas foster, which was invented right in new orleans! It was delicious! The atmosphere was lovely, and overall it was a fun experience.
Celia
We had small group to celebrate friend B.Day.
The cake for my Friend super Special with the giant cotton candy tower.
The service was the best !
Food was excellent ,The banana Foster Delicius!!!
The interior is Amazing. I recommend this place .
Kristin Cairns
Incredible meal, service and decor! I think my taste buds just died and went to heaven. The hollandaise was sheer creamy perfection, the BBQ lobster with Portuguese brioche was divine, and the Crab Tian was delicate and delicious.
Mike Oren
Excellent service that makes a point of knowing and addressing you by name. Quaint and historic building including gas lamps in the entryway. Excellent classic dishes from turtle soup, gumbo, and their signature bananas foster (which is prepared table side including the story of its creation) but also some upscale takes on things like chicken and waffles (with foie gras butter). This is the type of food that makes New Orleans famous as a great place for a vacation to try great food.
Jason Lovoy
Highly recommend. Been hearing about for years. Well worth it. We went for brunch and I got the French toast with peaches - the right amount of sweet (no syrup needed). Others sampled different things and no one was disappointed. Also loved the French pressed coffee. Can’t wait to go back.

Brennan's is known as the originator of bananas foster but it's oh so much more, especially now that they've added dinner. They've remodeled the restaurant after Katrina, but the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the meals is still here. Their gumbo is fabulous as are there many variations on eggs benedict. Dinner can be a real adventure, don't be afraid to step outside your comfort and order something new you'll be pleasantly surprised.
M K
If you want to treat yourself to a bit of a fancier breakfast this is the spot. Definitely a bit bougee for me but the interior was stunning. The decor was the seller for me, the food was good, nothing special.
Dan Potash
Fun place with attentive, if a bit overbearing, service. We had the eggs sardou and duck confit hash that were both very good but not warm enough.
Dux Dad
Knowing my wife and I were going to Nola for a nursing convention, my daughter gave me a Brennans gift card for XMAS. Brennans did not disappoint. The food was great, tomahawk veal chop for me and a shrimp dish for my wife. And the table side Bananas Foster was amazing for the show as well as the flavor.
Better than food was the friendly & helpful servers. They really made the feeling welcoming. The young man responsible for filling my water glass was just fun and great. Our waitress that did the table side bananas foster was also fun and welcoming.
Wendy Parish
My husband and I stopped by for a late breakfast one day without a reservation. We were seated out on the patio right away. It was a beautiful, cozy place, and I was intrigued by some of the not-so-common items on the menu. My husband had pork tenderloins, and I had the fried rabbit. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. We will definitely be back when we're back in town.
Brian Shelton
My second trip to Brennan’s this time with my 9 year old daughter. I must say the attention she was given by the staff was exceptional;they really know how to make a kid feel special and adult at Brennan’s. The food as always is delicious, service top notch and the price is more than fair for the quality and experience.
Mark Holifield
This is restaurant is a must go to in New Orleans. We love the brunch. I got the Eggs Hussarde. I definitely recommend. Also tried the gumbo. I like the dark roux gumbos but I’m sensitive to fishy and this was so be aware. Coffee is French press Grits are great. Wife got the Artisinal Eggs and loved it. Highly recommend
Ashley Lubold
If you are looking for an elegant dinner this would be the place to go! Expect small proportions due to the type of restaurant. Highly recommend the banana foster and the crepes-both come with a show-but both mouth watering good! Our waiter was very helpful (thanks Shawn!) in giving recommendations and assistance! Atmosphere is quiet and float themed paintings in the wall!
Judy Hemery
The was food as delicious as many years of reviews had insinuated, lacking was the service that is part of the Brennans experience. I'll say our server ONLY as this young fellow was either not interested in his job or had decided by looking at us we weren't wealthy enough to provide him a tip worthy of his effort. You must try their homemade english muffins in one of the signature eggs benny dishes. My husband had the irish oats and seemed it fantastic. We didn't order the famous bananas foster though we saw the delightful preparations and can only assume by others reactions, it is superb! Our guy still got a decent tip but he needs an awakening. Service is such a huge part of any businesses reputation.
Adrien Guenther
Definitely get the bananas foster! Had a great brunch at the bar with Catherine! she made great suggestions had a lovely time overall.
Sheldton Bell
Sophisticated Creole cuisine, upscale breakfast fare and decadent desserts (including the famous bananas Foster, flambéed tableside) tempt tourists and locals alike at this French Quarter fine-dining destination. Behind the building’s pink facade, eight dining rooms, a private wine room and a courtyard comprise an elegant setting suited for special occasions.
jessica Scurry
I just came for the original banana foster. So darn delicious staff so nice and funny if you go you must get the banana foster! And look up the history of the banana Foster and how it came to be therefore you will appreciate it more when they are serving it to you. And when they serve it to you a comes with a story and a show its really cool really delicious for 10 bucks
Jean Miller
Innovative Fare! We opted for the bar during Bubbles Happy Hour and enjoyed the Crispy Shrimp Crepes, Octopus Etouffee, and Turtle Soup. The food was outstanding. I would know... I am a cookbook author!
Marco Marone
Ever felt like a movie star? Neither have I... until I had brunch at Brennan's. The service here is impeccable. A lot of people tell me I look like Ben Affleck, but I seriously think the waiter mistaken me for Ben. Nevertheless, I bet they treat everyone with white gloves, even if you don't look like Ben Affleck. The Egg Benedict were out of this world!
Cynthia T
Parking is non-existent and there's no valet, so plan ahead. Highly recommend reservations, though the bar is often free. Menu is pricey with food equivalent to other local restaurants. However, this place is a tradition and deeply upscale. Get all the staples because that's what they're known for. The courtyard is divine if it's open. Get them to cook everything flambeau at the table side.
Daniel Pango
Beautiful place with good food. Slightly pricey for the food however service is great which makes price reasonable. Liked the 2 course lunch for $29 and the coffee was good as well. I like the place! 👍 …
Lee Hopper
I had a delightful brunch here. The service is top tier, a classic fine dinning experience. They even gave me a complimentary Ralph’s Coffee. The interior is beautiful. I can see why this place has been successful for so many years. If you are looking for some classy, New Orleans food check this place out. The prices are reasonable too.
Leann Brackney
Visited here over 15 years ago and it was just as fabulous now as it was then! Budget for this one; you will NOT be disappointed! Highly recommended!
Shelly Reinschmidt
Not enough stars!! Sean was a wonderful server and I love all the old school atmosphere! Food was exceptional and they made my daughter's birthday an event! We have been twice now and will return!
Jodi Lindsey
The most delicious brunch ever! Gorgeous, upscale atmosphere. Great cocktails, spicy bloody mary! The courtyard was beautiful and the staff top notch
Brittany Noltimier
It was a lovely brunch. Alfredo was our server and we came in for the banans foster. It was really cool and delicious. The brunch items were nice. Quite expensive for a dish but I knew that going in. It was nice where we sat. Cozy and quaint but the area by the garden was very cold. Nice bathrooms.
Sergii Starostin
Great price for champagne during the day until 7pm! DOM perignon for $130 for a bottle and tAittinger and Perrier-jouet for $55-60
The barmen guy who was working on the 3rd of October is the worst barmen guy I ever saw - he was tired already when he was born :) never saw less attitude for work
Jennifer C
A lovely place for breakfast. We got there 1 minute before 9am when they open and waited along with the rest of the line and were quickly seated when the doors opened. We chose to sit in the courtyard which was perfectly located near a water fountain with turtles. My kiddo loved that. We had gumbo, banana fosters, turtle soup and eggs hussarde. All delicious. The banana fosters comes prepared table side.
Jason Arsenault
This restaurant is iconic! The attention to service and detail far surpasses my expectations! If you want the "Real deal" Creole cuisine make this your first restaurant while visiting New Orleans. I will come back to try more of your wonderful dishes! THANK YOU!
Greg Goss
Seriously...one of the best things I had for breakfast while I was in NOLA. Can't spell it, but it was fresh English muffin with poached egg, Canadian bacon, and a wine and mushroom sauce.
Zak Wilkerson
I can't say enough great things about Brennan's from the atmosphere, to the delicious food, to the incredible service. We had a wonderful experience and our server Malik was first-class and down-to-earth at the same time. If you only had one night in New Orleans and you want a special dinner experience, choose Brennan's.
Freddy Villalona
The food was delicious and the filet minon I order was cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional and we had an extra server just in case our original waiter was not around. I also had turtle soup and it was all delicious. I would definitely go back there the next time I visit New Orleans.
John Bhisitkul
A unique experience and the food is good. With a lush green latice work interior the place oozes old world refinement and remains well kept and comfortable. With over the top touches like the table next to me has the sorbet that comes with a good sized cap of cotton candy. The dishes were unique and tasty. My eggs cardinal and bread pudding creme brulee were both so. Well worth it to go. Particularly for brunch.
Detrick Clark
Brenna’s is a must if you’re in New Orleans! The free range eggs, grits, and biscuits are so delicious! Hands down the best breakfast I had during my 7-day stay!!
James Durbin
The best pancakes I've ever had in my life. I know that doesn't sound all that amazing but you will understand if you have them. It's a unique syrup they make themselves if I remember correctly not to mention everything else going on. They've ruined all other pancakes for me. The brandy milk punch was wonderful as well, the only problem with it is you could easily drink your own weight in it.
Gayla Reeves
Brennan’s did an amazing job for our ceremony and wedding reception. They went above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. We highly recommend this restaurant for a great wedding and amazing food!
Yan Karasik
Everything about this place is amazing and special: the food, the ambiance, the banana frying show. A must if you visit NOLA!
Robert Goodman
We had a private room booked for our wedding reception. One of the best places I have been in a long time. We were a little early and went to the bar for a drink. The staff saw us and got the room ready early for us. The room was beautiful. The staff waiting on us was awesome. They were attentive to every need without being over bearing. The kitchen made a special meal for one guest that has milk allergy. It was a great time. Highly recommended.
J Sutton
Best eggs benedict I’ve ever had! Everything was perfect! Staff is friendly. So far this is the best food I’ve had in New Orleans! We ordered a king cake to go.
Marc-André Dion
Absolutely stellar customer service. Staff is attentive and knowledgeable about their offerings. Menu is a mix of traditional dishes with modern twists. High quality ingredients. Amazing carte de digestifs, for those that are into it.
D Moses
Brennan's truly lives up to its reputation... the food is amazing, service is topnotch and atmosphere is really great. Enjoyed every bite and it was unique flavor. Highly recommended place...
Prashanti Mohanty
Dining in Brennan`s was something I and my wife were looking forward to when we visited NOLA. Our anniversary was supposed to be special after all and this place sure did justice. We had to wait for 45 mins but we were quickly shown to our seats. Serving sizes are anti NOLA portion sizes were small but compensated by the taste. Ordered the famed grilled oysters and crab bisque which didnt disappoint. Entree was shrimp and duck which was light and flavorful. Bang for thr buck was the brennans famous dessert banana foster.. an experience not to be missed
Elessar Languages
Perfection, that's what you find coming to Brennan's. Today, I ordered Omelette a la Creole with French Press coffee and Biscuit.
Cathleen Howard
It was so good we went 2 days in a row and made sure we had the same server (bartender).
Jennifer Flynn
This place is exceptional!! The service was excellent, the ambiance was wonderful and the food was delicious! I couldn't decide between the Eggs St. Charles Royale & the Eggs Hussarde so the server got me one of each. Bother were delicious but I'd HIGHLY recommend the Eggs St. Charles Royale! We have already made another reservation so we can come back before we leave. Make sure you make a reservation - as we were waiting for our table, several people came in and were turned away because reservations were out three days.
Eric S Cooper
Exceptional experience all around. The dining rooms and general area have been meticulously maintained such that I’m struggling to recall another restaurant anywhere kept to such a high standard.
Food and service were brilliant. Cocktails were very good although I’d say they were just a touch underwhelming considering the outstanding quality of everything else. The food is prepared with a high degree of precision and expertise and didn’t disappoint— delicious, satisfying and beautifully presented.
A fine restaurant which exemplifies New Orleans culture and cuisine.
Allen Hilburn
A wonderful dinning experience with outstanding food and service. Frankly I can't recommended Brennan's enough, don't miss the opportunity to dine here if you are anywhere near New Orleans.
Bill McBreen
Classic new Orleans vibe, upscale, small portions. Nice staff, recommend going earlier for brunch.
Kami Blackburn
Breakfast at Brennan’s is the epitome of fine southern dining. The go-to-place for celebrating while creating new memories. Impeccable quality offered during every moment of your experience.
Kat Doucette
Fantastic dining experience. Make reservations and ask lots of questions. The staff is so hospitable and is eager to talk about the history of the restaurant and each dish. Definitely get the bananas fosters!
BRO ACT
No doubt that the food here is excellent. Prices are high but then so is the quality. The staff was awesome never flinching nor doubting our needs when dealing with a family brunch of over 30 adults... never mind dealing with the 8 little girls [ 3-8 years old ] who were underfoot and of course, energetic bundles of energy.
Ashlyn Johnson
The building it's self is stunning! Absolutely stunning! The customer service was grand! They even brought the kids lemonade out in wine glasses, which anyone with kids knows, it's the little things! The food was delightful and the table side bananas foster was not only delicious but entertaining!!
Scott Mota
The food here is outstanding and this is definitely the place to go for an upscale brunch. All of the servers are very pleasant but it did seem that the food took a long time so be prepared to spend some time here. You are definitely paying for the experience more than the portion size. Don't skip out on the table side bananas foster.

Came for lunch upon my roommate's recommendation that we had to try the Banana Fosters for dessert.
So we sat at the bar and ordered the housemade sodas.
I had the two-course lunch.
Turtle Soup and Shrimp Salad.
Let me tell you.
This Turtle Soup is AMAZING! I highly recommend it, with some more Sherry and I added some more Tobasco sauce for an extra kick. Just a few drops. One of my favourite things.
But my absolute favourite thing was the Banana Fosters.
Prepared in front of you - omg it smells amazing and taste absolutely delicious. Bananas, sauce, and ice cream. I DEVOURED that thing. No wonder Brennan's is famous for it.
The atmosphere is professional. All the servers were extremely polite.
It is a great place to come for lunch or dinner.
I highly recommend it.
GET THE BANANA FOSTERS!
Ricardo Wang
What an experience, went without a booking, we were seated at the bar but we were still served their signature dishes cooked table side. Best dining experience in NOLA!
Anissa
We went last night to celebrate my bachelorette weekend and we all couldn't have asked for a better experience. Beautiful decor/ambiance. Our server, Tyler, was the best. He brought out champagne for us to celebrate and even a little appetizer while our food was being made. All of our dishes were impeccable, and the banana foster was delicious! Do it. Go here. Have fun. Be fancy. You won't be disappointed.
Danielle Barger
Very tasty food and attentive staff. Coffee was quite good and the service was second to none. Great atmosphere and decor. Bathroom was very quaint and VERY clean. Would recommend 100%.
John Sanders
I had what the waiter at the bar suggested and it was probably the best eggs Benedict I have ever ate... pretty sure it was called eggs Hussard... any way I loved it!!!
Liang-Kai Chu
Banana and grapefruit are wonderful. Turtle soup is just a new experience.
Ronald Sicharan
I came here on a Tuesday afternoon after lunch service, during their 2pm-7pm happy hour. They do some great champagne cocktails and small bites for very affordable prices. The waiter who served me was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Wouter de Bie
Yes! Definitely worth a visit if you like old style brunch and typical New Orleans classic. And don't forget to get the Bananas Foster, because it was born here.
Kelly Dougherty
Great food, excellent service, good drinks. Had the baked apple and french toast which were both delicious. The Caribbean Milk Punch was very very good. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating since we were there with a baby
John Tino
Amazing fine dining restaurant focusing on Creole food. I highly recommend the blackened red fish. The chicken fried shortbreads are amazing. The shrimp creole kimchi is also very tasty. Brennan’s is the birthplace of Bananas Foster, so have to order it. Prepared table side, it’s quite a spectacular show. The cocktails are also goo and the service is top notch. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Douglas Patten
The home of the original banana foster. The service is phenomenal the bar staff is well educated and the food is the best around. The drinks worth it. Make sure to save room for dessert! Lagniappe!
ella ahmed
Food was amazing! The duck is great and short rib!! Also get the gumbo! The bananas foster is TO DIE FOR. Great overall! The cutest women’s bathroom and there is a game of thrones room.
J WillHold
We really lucked out today. We drove in from out of town. They had no reservations left but directed us to the lounge where my husband and I got a table. We had our two small kids with us. We got to hear and dance with the live band. He even let my daughter sing with him. The gumbo was very good. The main dish was a little small but still good. Overall a great meal. We will return. A must in New Orleans.
Angelica M Kelly
Another great brunch experience! I loved it. I was very satisfied with all that I got here. To drink I got the Brandy Milk punch, it was good as expected. To start I had the Jackson Salad; spectacular! I enjoyed a lot. My main entree was the Eggs Nouvelle (in the picture) it was a perfect dish, so delicate and tasty! To finish we got their famous Banana Frost (I don't like bananas) but we had to try them... it was entertaining (wink). Very sweet dessert for my taste, but if you like this kind of desserts, go for it! Overall was a great experience and I would love to be back here again. The combination I made was perfect (not heavy and very tasty)
Eric Finkelstein
I'd originally arrived wanting to take out several items, but they said it's not allowed, and that made sense after I saw how they did the bananas foster. That presentation is an experience.
Jasmine Kim
Heard the entire history of the Banana's Foster origin as it was prepared before us. The pink wall and pink seats were pretty. Very nice ambiance. I think this was a reservation and business casual place even though we walked in as toursts in shorts. We got to see turtles in their garden. Was a bit pricey but I guess people come here for special occassions.
Kristi B
Delicious! I would definitely eat here again. The eggs benedict on the home made english muffins are to die for! They did a very cute cotton candy surprise for my wife's birthday. We also had the milk & honey blintz which was amazing and the banana foster was a little too sweet for breakfast but still good. Service was amazing. Highly recommend.

Brennan's is incredible. Everything from the decor, the food, the staff, theatrics of banana foster. If you're in New Orleans then Brennan's needs to be on your list of places to go
Craig Reeves
Everything about our experience was five star quality. Service impecable and food to die for. Practically speechless. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
Arthur McNabb
Best place I've eaten breakfast at in a long time. Will return soon. Servers are kind and attentive. Atmosphere is top notch
Carlos Enrique Chacon Rodriguez
This is one of the oldest and best place to eat in New Orleans ... It not cheap, but I recomend to visit this restaurant ... make reservations because it's kind of popular ... I recommend the french toast and the benedict egss
Sharon P
What a splurge and so worth it. John was our waiter, so we’ll spoken, friendly and debonair. He promised the most luxurious breakfast we’ve ever had, and it was. I tried the Flamingo (crushed watermelon and sparkling wine) which was a light and refreshing twist on the traditional mimosa. For appetizers I highly recommend the Strawberries & Cream made with whipped Mascarpone cream & a touch of lavender. The Milk & Honey Blintz are out is this world made with goat cheese, honey, peaches. If I could underline and bold my recommendation for the Blintzes I would.
I enjoyed the Eggs Sardou which is a Brennan’s original poached eggs dish with a fabulous sauce - although I would’ve rather had a little more flavor to the artichoke bottoms. My friend had the Eggs St Charles made with crispy gulf fish, spinach and hollandaise… it was spectacular. So treat yourself to this historic treasure.

Impossible to properly express the excellence at Brennan's. Lovely decor, excellent service and amazing cuisine. Why wait for a special occasion. Enjoy the best NOLA has to offer.
Monique Olan
Oh my this place is so good. We came in to get a brandy milk punch and stayed for one of the most delicious brunches I've had. So well balanced and unique. And beautifully presented! I've been there 2x now and will definitely go again!
Justin Novak
Hard to get a reservation, but that's because it's just so good! Everyone and everything was great.
Alex Thomas
Brunch at Brennan’s was so delicious. Everyone in our party was very pleased from the French press coffee to delicious brunch cocktails (the pear mimosa was delightful) to the entrees. The eggs Owen are pictured and I cannot recommend enough. Poached eggs executed perfectly and the short ribs quite tender. Also ordered by my party will rave reviews were baked apple, corned beef hash and eggs hussaurde. If you can, request a table in the courtyard - it was so delightful and away from most of the cluttering of dishes inside.
C P
A friend suggested this place for Banana’s Foster, so we stopped in after we were already stuffed. There was a private event going on, so only the bar was opened. We sat and watched Dania make our dessert while she told us the history of it! It was so good. I also had a Rooster Royale which was surprisingly good. The only thing is that it took quite a long time for everything to come out.
Dania also told us about the turtles in the courtyard which I was itching to ask if they raise them for their Turtle Soup, but I wasn’t sure if that was appropriate. She also suggested some other places to visit while we were in town. You should definitely visit this place even if it’s just to get Banana’s Foster!
Krishan Perera
Amazing food - a definite must for breakfast or brunch in New Orleans! The wait is approx 20mts if you don't book in advance but once you are, one will enjoy one of the best cuisines New Orleans has to offer! The bloody Mary is divine! Highly recommended and a definite must!
David Doss
All I can say is AMAZING!!! You must eat at Brennan's when visiting NOLA. Went there for breakfast on Anniversary. Service great, atmosphere great, food great, experience great. Unless you are used to high end (expensive) restaurants you may get sticker shock. I say ignore it and splurge you only live once. You won't be disappointed.
Steve Beattie
Alfredo, our marvelous waiter took care of us, he along with the food was excellent. I posted a picture here of Eggs Owen, Alfredo had the kitchen substitute sauteed spinach for the potatoes because we are on a Keto diet. We have been to Brennan's several times, we've always had a great experience with service and food. If you visit NOLA don't miss out on Brennan's.
paris hanna
Well worth every penny! Be sure to make a reservation a day in advance and you DEFINITELY have to save room for the Bananas Foster!!! They make the ice cream in house and cook it in front of you, which I thought was really cool:)
Ana Boville
Great food and very good service. We tried the baked oysters, the avocado and crab toast and the shrimp salad. Everything was really good. They serve breakfast dishes as lunch.
Greg Treadway
Wonderful service and atmosphere. We like to have breakfast here. Our favorite is the Eggs Hussard with the Pear Champagne (Sparkling Pear). Try the courtyard if you can get a seat and make a reservation as this place is really popular during busy season. 👍 …
Peter Coutinho
We visited for brunch and dinner. It was that good! Brunch was sublime. Dinner was awesome. Attentive service, spectacularly good. Thanks, Teri!
Dan Hawk
Had the eggs Benedict and coffee for my first breakfast here in New Orleans. The wait staff was fantastic, the food was great, and the mood and ambiance were perfect. Nice, but still casual.
J. Gamin
I have been to Brennans five times over thirty years - I have now introduced my two children to the tradition of “Breakfast at Brennen’s” and each time we have dined the experience is nothing short of amazing- I wish I could give a 6th Star! Thank you Brennan’s 🥂
Tammy Mur
I went there for dinner. I had to wait for 30 minutes even though I had a reservation. The food is okay not great. The best food was breads.. The service was good.
Cassie Holder
Absolutely amazing! Our server Joe delivered the best service we could have asked for.
Mark Gross
Great experience. Our server was incredible. The food is classic NOLA but delicious! Truly a must see.
Monica Bastola (Elyse)
Needless to say, the bananas Foster was amazing. It was more the making of it than the actual taste. The server who made it knew the history and was able to engage in a wonderful conversation while making the desert right in front of the table. Drinks were great.
Adrian Bermeo
Lynika and Oswaldo made our birthday celebration wonderful. Food and service was 10/10! Excellent for brunch.
Gio rodri
Not impressed. Out of all the restaurants we dined in Nola this was our least favorite. Service was top notch, beautiful place and atmosphere, however the food was not up to par. I got thr shrimp. It was like $35 for 6 small shrimp with way to much okra. Get the banana fosters only, then go get some better food somewhere else.
Rebecca Silb
We didn't have a reservation (book ahead!) but tried our luck with a walk in for breakfast and were able to sit at the bar. The oysters j'aime were fabulous and of course the bananas foster (we spent all week looking for one!)
Haile Kassa
Had my birthday dinner there...we had the lobster appitizer and as entre we had the other two which I will find below on the pic 😊....and they brought me that amazing cake at the end...all in all I loved everything..tasty food and great service …
Megan Cortney
We had breakfast here one morning during our Honeymoon. It was well portioned and the corned beef was the best I've ever had.
Edward Doan
I was here for a special event, so I didn't get to experience the full menu. Cocktails at the bar, including the house Hurricane, were good. The bananas foster was delightful!
K
Beautiful place. The food is high end and interesting (featuring several egg dishes, quail, turtle soup, seafood, etc.). This is the birthplace of the famous bananas foster. They make it tableside and tell you the history behind this delicious dessert. The staff is friendly and helpful. If they are booked, you can try your luck at their bar and lounge area.
Winnie Anne Verzosa
I’m so pleased with their service! The table is already prepared when we got there. The food was tasty and great! They have great drinks selections as well. To top it all of, they went beyond my expectation in surprising my boyfriend on his birthday with their complimentary birthday treat! I wasn’t able to take a picture of the confetti cake with ice cream on top hidden in the cotton candy! What a nice surprise! Amazing service!
wayne lockman
The server wash great!!! Food came out warmish. Dessert made of for it the Banana Foster was devine!
Sneha Rao
We loved the food and ambiance of this restaurant! My sister has had this on her 'must not miss' list since her first visit many years ago and it is now on ours!!
Shelby Collins
Staff is fantastic. Excellent cuisine. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Ronnie M
Go here for brunch! And don't question if you should get the banana foster. The food and service were impeccable!
Jeanna Doughty
It was my friend for 30 yrs. the red girl (Trinette) in yellow birthday dinner. Had a ball. The food was so good. I had almonden fish if i spelled it right. So good.
Laura Merrill
Brennan's is absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed our afternoon visit so much that we went back the next morning for brunch. It is a beautiful place! The food is delicious and the service is top notch. If I visited New Orleans again, I would absolutely go to Brennan's.
Sarah Mayer
Don’t go for the service! It took us 45 min to get our order taken and that was after I went to the host stand to ask to get our order taken. People who arrived after us for their food before we did.
I'm literally Unknown
Brennan's is another NOLA must! Though we understand the reasoning behind it, we were a tad disappointed by the limited menu. Hopefully everything will be back at 100% when we return.
Kathryn “Kat” Alvarez
Brennan’s is a gift you offer yourself when visiting New Orleans. Their benedicts and fresh drinks are the perfect start to peruse the waterfront and check in with a favorite horse and carriage.
Brennan’s = NOLO
Christina Garrett
Beautiful day to have brunch in the French quarter! Delicious food and great service!
Preston Parks
The only good thing about Brennan's was the food... We set reservations a few weeks in advance and the service was quite terrible. I wonder if it was because we came in dressed like regular people and nothing fancy. A ton of employees are on hand and plenty of tables but the wait even with a reservation was quite long. The water glass was really tiny and when asked if we could have some for the table, we were told no they don't do that. Seriously a paying customer can't get water for the table? Forced to wait for the slow service to refill. Not once did someone come and check to see how we were doing. Finally after waiting the bill came but then no one came to collect our card. Waited longer and still no one to let us pay. We decided to walk up to the front to pay and we were immediately stopped and forced to sit down and wait. Even after voicing our concerns about the long wait we still had to wait for someone to let us pay. A million employees and no one is capable of swiping a credit card. After all the hype about this place I will never be back.
Elizabeth Curran
I am OBSESSED with this restaurant. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were so good I actually asked for the recipe so I could make it for my friends when they are over for dinner. Our waitress, Jamie, was so friendly and knowledgeable and helped us with our menu and taught us the history of the location. And the hostess, Alexa, was just incredibly helpful and fabulous. She made sure my friend had a perfect birthday experience (and she was the one who obtained the recipe for the pineapple soda cocktail - thank you so much, Alexa!). 1000/10. This place WILL be worth the money.
Argentum Sphinx
Great service as always. Great atmosphere and attentive barstaff. THANKS Lou and Tommy! Got a chance to see a Champaign bottle be sabered... I'll be ordering a Sabre shortly😚 …
Christine McCrary
Food was amazing. My sister and I celebrated our birthday brunch there along with some friends. The staff and service was awesome, even got a cotton candy birthday cake and a souvenir apron for our birthday.
justin aldred
If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
We went for Lunch and everything was exquisite. Service was amazing, the food was awesome, the atmosphere was perfect. Can't say enough good about this place you just have to go for yourself. If you want cheap, don't go. If you want GREAT food, value, and service, definitely go. Worth every penny.
Alyssa Zhu
The Bananas Foster was absolutely delicious and Brennan’s makes it a fun experience with flambéing at your table. During our experience, we had a somewhat unfriendly hostess and waiter, which is surprising for such a fine dining establishment.
John Means
We didn’t have a reservation so we were seated at the bar. The two woman bartenders were very gracious and attentive, we felt like vip’s. We had some appetizers followed by their world famous Bananas Foster. Everything was out of this world. A must go to for a truly memorable evening.
Archie Foster
Loved the bananas foster was so good 10/10. Also I loved the waiters politeness and service. It was my child’s birthday and I did not expect a huge Cotten candy fluff on top of a cake and my kid got an apron (for free). This place was amazing
Lisa Heath
Brennan’s is hands down one of the best restaurants in the country. This New Orleans institution is home to a scratch kitchen with sophisticated flare. Their inventive twists on classic southern dishes are perfectly executed and totally crave-worthy. Not only is the food phenomenal, they have excellent staff. I’d like to particularly mention their bar manager, Britney. Her guest-focused approach and friendly demeanor make her an absolute gem and a true asset to the Brennan’s family. I look forward to visiting this restaurant because of her! Last but not least, some of the most charming decor and design I’ve seen in a while. This place is an absolute must.
Varun Chowdhary
Food was great, but service was a little slow. Didn’t bother us much as we weren’t in a hurry anyways.
Chris Haught
We ate a LOT of food during our trip to New Orleans, but Brennan's stole the show. The Bananas Foster impressed everyone in the room. I can't say enough nice things about our experience. All the food was fantastic and the waitstaff was on-point. I will return!
&&
awesome place ! all the waiters are great , you would have 4 at once . They will serve your food ,tell you stories about the restaurant itself ! AWESOME restaurant
M V Gonzales
If you're looking for fast food- this is not the place for you. It's a historic upscale restaurant with delicious food and cocktails. The restrooms on the first floor are so cute! Be ready to treat yourself.
Peter Eidegren
A true oasis in the noisy city of New Orleans.
The drinks are well balanced and tastes delicious.
The Sazerac is a must try.
Make sure to put on some nice pants and a shirt to feel a little bit but more at home at this place.
It is not mandatory but you will feel better and it is always nice to look proper when you go out.
The place is air-conditioned so you won't feel hot or uneasy wearing pants and a shirt.
Daniel Covey
Delicious food and exemplary customer service. Enjoy the beautiful courtyard and for heaven’s sake be sure to order Banana Foster...this is where it originated!
Jon Childers
Always fantastic. My favorite brunch anywhere
Conor MacCarvill
The bananas foster was really good. Duck was perfectly cooked, but sauce was oddly bitter. Cocktails were great as was the service. Turtle soup wasnt my thing but adding sherry to it was a fun touch
Yevgen Pivovarov
Amazing place, divine food and perfect service! Absolutely worth the money and time. One of the best places in the US!
Spectacular serving of the dessert.
Tracey K
Delicious food and great service. Bananas foster was incredible.
Kevin Hom
Enjoyable place for breakfast. Good food and good service. Enjoy the Banana Foster.
Drew Copeland
Do yourself a favor and reserve a breakfast here during your stay. It's great food, service, and the dessert and drinks are great as well!
Alyssa Godfrey
We had breakfast outside in the patio area it was very nice. I ordered the eggs Benedict, side potatoes, orange juice and freshly pressed coffee. My husband ordered 2 eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes and freshly pressed coffee. Both were Devine! The toast was so scrumptious!!! I definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch.
Karen Gonzalez
Service was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious had Benedict Eggs with a side of thick bacon and lemon, pear and plum juice.
Rebecca Howard
I always make a point of taking an evening reservation at Brennan's whilst I am in the French quarter, as I know I will not be disappointed.
The chef was incredibly accommodating with my dietary requirements and made me a specific off menu dish, which I tell you I haven't stopped thinking about as it was that flavoursome.
Thanks to a thunderstorm, we also ended up ducking into Brennans for brunch, the french toast was off the chart good!
Ashley Grieco
My friends and I made a reservation for this restaurant while planning our trip to New Orleans. The first encounter once we got inside was not 5 stars. I understand my friends and I are in our 20s and dresses for st pattys day, but we all work full time salary jobs just like every other adult that walks through the door. The host greeted everyone before me. I got to the host and said my name is Ashley and he said “okay”. I said I have a reservation. He looked me up and down very judgmentally and said very rudely to just go sit by the door and wait. I did just that. Every other person that came in after me he asked how they were, first time in town, very friendly usually banter that I clearly was unworthy of in his eyes. He also checked all their vaccinations cards of guests but mine and my friends, weird. We finally got seated and if it wasn’t for our amazing server and the assistants to them. I would of given this restaurant one star for the way I was treated. No one should have to prove by what their ordering that they have money to belong here. I later found out the host is actually the manager, Dave. So FYI to everyone who looks under 30 going to dine here: wear the best of the best clothes you have or you will not be treated like you belong. By the way we spent over $400. Never judge a book by its cover Dave.
Whitney Taylor-Purvis
BEST BREAKFAST IN NOLA!!!
Jasmin Wagner
The service was outstanding. The food could’ve been better for this kind of restaurant though. My steak was rather cold.
Ishita Batra
Nice ambience and food. Came for the bananas foster - please know that you have to order at least 2.
I don't think the bananas foster was anything special, taste-wise. It was just fun to watch them make it!
arabesque
Amazing !
Chris Corbett
It's a must do brunch experience. Amazing food but you'll pay for it.
Alex Rands
A most delicious fine dining breakfast!
Turtle soup is a must
Josh Ecksmith
Beautiful decor. Delicious food. Laid back dining experience. The tableside service was great. Very attentive altogether.

Very nice restaurant in NOLA. Enjoyed the service. Food was very good. Lots of ambiance and close quarters. I would go again.
Travis Brice
A++ service and food as always. We enjoyed the baked apple and the citrus ricotta pancakes today. Superb.
Ankita
Professional service and excellent food. They also have an amazing collection of wine.
Brita A
The turtle soup was delicious! Their bread was fresh, crispy on the outside soft and fluffy inside. The staff members were very nice. The decor was quite beautiful and interesting too.
kelly nering
Elegant old school Brennans.. yummy
M NICHOLS
YEAH BABY.... fine dining in NOLA at reasonable pricing. Dress nice dont be that guy with the hat on and a wrinkled tshirt. Look nice, feel nice, have a nice time.
They invented bananas foster... (drops mic)
Try it.
Sewar Sawalha
Turtle soup was good, avocado toast ok. Service was super slow. No one on the floor to take orders or bring checks. I personally thought it was average.

A NEW ORLEANS ORIGINAL SINCE 1946!
Before coming to NOLA , everyone told me that Brennan's is the place to be, especially for their famous brunch menu. Everything on the menu is amazing and the staff make you feel right at home. Shoutout to the best server ever, Alfredo. The space is perfect but I would recommend going in with a reservation, especially because they do get busy. I put my reservations about 2 weeks before I came in. Everything on the menu is absolutely to die for -from the dishes to the presentation. Their plates are some of the most unique ever. If you ever find yourself around the French Quarters, this place is a MUST. It will be so hard to miss this building, a flamingo pink that stands out.
On the menu: eggs benedict, brioche french toast, world's famous and the original, bananas foster. My sister and I wanted to try everything. The staff was so nice and thoughtful and split the brioche French toast without asking. That is a level of anticipation I have not had in awhile but in New Orleans, it is a standard. The Southern hospitality has made me addicted and the charm is everything I have heard of. The bananas foster is made to order and flambéd table side. It is a sight to see. This simple dessert gave me nostalgic vibes and was a great reminder to enjoy the little things in life and to be present.
Fun fact: "It was a huge product for the port," explains Ralph Brennan, owner of Brennan's, Bourbon Street's legendary restaurant. The dessert -- bananas, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, rum, banana liqueur and vanilla ice cream -- was invented there in 1951. (Source: NPR 2016)
Would I come back? Oh definitely. The hospitality is not one to miss and the food culture is amazing. Cannot wait to visit this city again.
Liz Meicher
Awesome soup. Had Turtle soup with a brown gravy like soup. Also had squid on top of a piece of tenderloin. So delicious.
Janetthe Pacheco
This restaurant is so beautiful! You may dine downstairs or in a private room. The food, drinks and service is excellent!
Spencer Roby
Brennan's lived up to all expectations. Had the duck dish. It was perfectly executed and had great flavor. Will definitely go back.
Typical panda
Lovely food ! Great birthday! They treated me with a cotton candy cake and an apron as a gift!
Amanda Heslep
Breakfast and Dinner both amazing, I'll go back here on my next trip and dram about the food in the mean time. Great service, friendly and prompt.
Kim Welan
Avoid the Mardi Gas crush and Ash Wednesday... Three of our 6 entrees came out cold and there was an inordinately long gap between apps and entrees. The service staff is still amazing and dealt graciously with the unavoidable delays due to the Gras (every restaurant in the French Quarter loses staff every Mardi Gras... Its part of the process... They comped the delayed entrees without hesitation ). The spectacular egg yolk sous vide appetizer was as good as we remembered and the shrimp boudin cakes were a delight! I have no doubt this Grand Dame of New Orleans restaurants will be right back up to snuff the next time we visit.
Agustin Bolivar
We went for dinner and tried the famous bananas foster and it was a good fire/experience more than exceptional taste. The servers were very kind and attentive!
Dave Schwimmer
Visited for the first time for my 50th birthday and was blown away. Everything was absolutely amazing. I had the blackened red fish and it was sublime. Our entire party of 10 agreed it was our favorite meal of the week we spent in NOLA.
Tara Jones
Kasey was the sales manager assigned to assist w/ my husband’s 40th Masquerade birthday dinner. Donya was our room captain and the other servers who assisted her were fabulous too. The young lady who did our bananas foster presentation was a sweetheart. Food was fire. Drinks were poured to perfection and they made our evening in the Havana Room a night to remember.
Jeffrey Roldan
A tradition in New Orleans, great atmosphere, bartender's and staff. Had the turtle soup, eggs Owen's and a bloody Mary. Everything was awesome.
CMONE WINGO
Outstanding place for breakfast!! Try the baked apples, they are delish. But, go early or make reservations because they get BUSY. A great spot to celebrate birthdays they do a little something really special for you ☺️
Belinda Spier
Great food, was recommended the bananas foster and it certainly lived up to expectations! Beautiful place.
Greg Finch
World class in every way. If a menu item looks good, it is. Ask about the history while you're there too.
Derek Beard
I came here for breakfast when I was in New Orleans and got their signature Eggs Hussarde, which is housemade English muffins, coffee cured Canadian bacon, hollandaise, and poached eggs. Simply delicious. The Bloody Mary was honestly ok but the food was great.
Pegah Youssofin
Lamb chops very delicious but the raviolo was the highlight of the night! Very creamy and tasty!
Anastasiia Rudnytska
Serious just WOW! Everything is amazing: atmosphere, service, food.
This place is MUST go when visiting New Orleans!
T T
This place will blow your mind. Try the steak Diane, it is a life changer. They bring the girdon directly to your table and flambe the steak right in front of you, it's quite the show! Definitely try to sit in Ramy's section, he's one of the best guys you'll ever meet. See below for a picture of the finished steak Diane product.
Manuel Mas
Excellent service. Classy, old school feel. Try the off-the-menu, prepared at tableside, Steak Diane.
Jay J.R.
We went in for coffee and desert late afternoon. We were sat at the bar and service was provided with a smile and professional efficiency. Stayed back for a few more beverages. Will certainly return for experiencing their meal and ambiance.
rashid karaa
Wonderful experience, beautiful restaurant, incredible food and service. Highly recommend the bananas foster and blackened redfish.
Elissa Dresdner
The vegetable tart was INCREDIBLE and the atmosphere is so nice. The player piano was especially nice
Renee Cain
Classy southern hospitality at its finest. From the maître d' to the water boys. Pristine, proper, friendly staff. Great food. Be prepared to spend your money. Only wish we had the time to get the famous Banana Foster while we were there. Pictured here are from the interior courtyard next to the turtle pond.
MANUELA TOSSI
The food is delicious! The desserts are to die for! And the atmosphere is great! Its a must!
Allen Brooks
This restraunt embodies its city and is a must for any visitor. We enjoyed breakfast here including the French press coffee. The eggs Benedict and baked apple of the Brennan's breakfast are a great combination. Dessert and bourbon menu are available even for breakfast, with the tableside bananas foster being a Brennan's original.
Hospitality Of New Orleans
Brennans has consistently been one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. They serve traditional New Orleans food as well as some classics with a twist but either way food is always delicious. The turtle soup is a must. If you have never eaten banan's fosters this is a good place to try but also order the bread pudding as it is one of the best ones in town. The staff is friendly and tend to your every need. We fully recommend this place for Brunch, lunch or dinner.
Vic Z
We had a private room downstairs with a fixed menu for our group of 13. Service was excellent and all of the food was very good. Undoubtedly the highlight of the evening was the bananas foster for dessert with the dramatic presentation.
Greg N
We had a fantastic brunch. Wonderful service and food. Just perfect.
Bethany Reiter
Me and my husband came here for our One Year Anniversary this weekend & it was AMAZING. the service, the atmosphere, & of course the food blew us away! Beautiful place!
Ginina Vitucci
Fantastic breakfast! We showed up at 830am on a Monday in mid-November and a line formed by 845am. When they opened at 9 it seems everyone in line was seated within minutes. Service was the best of all the restaurants we experienced over 5 days. We had gumbo as a starter and you MUST have this and the bananas foster!! These are the stars!! We tried the shrimp omelet and pork blintz for our main meals. The pork was better than the shrimp omelet, but both were good. French press coffee was good, making enough for 3 cups.
If you want to eat dinner here make reservations far in advance, not after you arrive for vacation!
Nic Vanderende
Great bar, decent food, good service. The food was good but over priced, think upscale wedding food.
Tatiana Etienne
Lynika and Tom handled our table and both were exceptional. We enjoyed delicious Rosé, pommes frites, poulet dinner option and of course the banana foster! The food was delicious! I am so glad I got to experience such a wonderful restaurant with rich history!
Christian M
Lynika was a rock star. Such a great representative of your organization and a pro champagne pourer. Thanks for the great brunch!
Gina THE MTL GAL
Exceptional! Attentive service, great food, old world charm. Perfect for celebrating a special occasion. Best Bananas Foster EVER!
Lauren Brownlow
Great experience! Food was amazing and sommelier suggested a wine that we never would have picked which was phenomenal. Beautiful space and stellar service. 100% will recommend it to friends and guests.
Shana Schultz
Original bananas foster! Amazing!!
Munasiba Rahman-Bhuiyan
Everything about this restaurant was perfect. The food, the decor, the service and we had the nicest waiter.
Bryan J McCormick
Had a fantastic breakfast at Brennans yesterday. Scrambled eggs with a touch of spiciness, fresh made biscuit, BBQ'd shrimp with grits, and brabant potatoes. Excellent food and great service.
