Reviews of Breads On Oak
Delicious bakery shoppe located on Oak Street. The pastries and sandwiches are made daily with fresh local ingredients. A variety of vegan and gluten free options as well. Once you open the door there are smiling faces to greet you. Come try this spot you will be highly impressed!!!
Unique bakery on Oak Street, with actually delicious vegan foods and baked goods, which if experience tells us anything is quite an impressive feat. The interior space is a little tiny, with an also small but quaint side patio, with seating out front. Friendly staff, though sometimes the music is annoying. Try the all veggie sandwich it's incredible.
What a fantastic bakery with a great selection of sandwiches! We came here for breakfast and ordered egg o’vegans, cheese grits, and decaf lattes. Everything was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was fast and the person who took our order was nice and pleasant. This would certainly be a go-to spot for me if I lived in NOLA.
Coming into town and need a breakfast place? Are you vegan! Well Breads On Oak needs to be the place you need to hit if you’re visiting New Orleans. Sandwiches are vegan, devious and doesn’t make you feel heavy. They also have the best banquettes in town!
Yummy. The Vegan Pumpkin Cheddar egg biscuit was delicious with just a kick of heat. The biscuit, although a bit dry, was still worth it. My husband enjoyed his “ham” on toast. I make it a point to come here every time I’m in NOLA. I’m allergic to both eggs & animal dairy products so it’s one a the few times I can safely have breakfast in a restaurant.
SUCH a great vegan bakery!
I stopped by after running a half marathon race in the morning, which may have been a mistake (because I was very hungry when I arrived). I got a bunch of things, including a quiche to take with me on the plane for breakfast when my flight departed New Orleans the following morning.
Everything was so delicious - The Mighty Melt, the croissant, blueberry tea biscuit, and strawberry almond layer cake. I wish we had Breads on Oak where I live! But I am glad that I got to experience it when I was visiting New Orleans.
Even if you are not vegan you owe it to yourself to check these folks out. Open at 0730 on Sundays, rarely early around these parts and everything is great. The coffee, the food, the atmosphere. This place is perfection.
Their king cake is decadent! The sandwiches are amazing! Everything is vegan but you would never guess it. The baked goods look sweet!! Awesome atmosphere! Definitely a must!
Y'all, I straight up love this place. You don't need to be a vegan to enjoy your time at Breads on Oak. I'm a pescatarian, and their vegan muffuletta is 🔥. Also, it's fall now and their treats just make me want to dance. Prices are reasonable, and the workers there are kind and willing to answer any questions. I love chatting with them when I can. If you're looking for savory, I recommend the vegan muffuletta (as mentioned), or their burger or patty melt. For sweet, I love their double chocolate cookies and their eclairs! You can't really go wrong with whatever you get though.
Yummy vegan treats! Breakfast sandwiches, lunch, and pastries. Not a healthy spot necessarily but vegan comfort food done well!
Cozy patio at Oak location for coffee sipping and reading.
I went in here for the first time today and was taken aback by the endless options. The cinnamon roll and TBTA caught my eye, and I was beyond impressed by the quality. Fresh ingredients and you can definitely taste the hard work and love involved. At the counter they also have $3 bread that isn’t their top quality as well. It’s quite pricey, but worth every penny.
Bread is the focus here and is quite good.
The pastries and cookies are also very good, and everything is vegan. Very good variety of items.
The coffee is so-so.
My favorite vegan place on my trip so far! Sandwiches are so delicious and packed with flavor. Their baked goods are phenomenal! I want to buy a loaf before I head back home it is so good! The vibe eating outside was great. There is even outside seating in the back that has cats 🐈 running around. 😍 I thought that was absolutely amazing! Everything on the menu looks so good. I wish I had more time to try more things!
We were happy to find this cute spot in walking distance to the Quarter.
Very delicious biscuits, pastries and coffee and all vegan!!
I absolutely love the bread at this bakery. It’s always fresh and delicious. The employees all give really great service, and they help me leave with a smile! Thank you all!
Just AMAZING. The staff was very sweet, friendly and helpful. The cheesy grits (surprisingly) satisfied my dad, and both the chocolate samoa cake and the strawberry cake were so moist and flavorful it took pure will-power not to finish both slices at the table. Additionally, this place is a lot more spacious than what the eye may perceive initially, the outdoor seating was a comfortable and homey spot. If you're wondering if your non-vegan people will actually enjoy eating here I can assure you they'll walk out impressed and satiated. Will be visiting again!
While visiting my daughter last weekend, I was introduced to this cafe on Oak Street. Everything we ordered (grits, biscuits, burger, fries, quiche, and pastries) were delicious. Their pickled broccoli and cauliflower were refreshing and the homemade pickles—great! I am looking for a revisit the next time I am in New Orleans.
My favorite vegan spot in the city. Amazing staff, food, atmosphere, and cat company. Vegan king cake is a cant miss when in season. Breakfast sandwiches always go hard. Free wifi makes it a great study spot. I love this place.
Amazing vegan muffuletta. I’m vegetarian and was impressed - a carnivore said it tasted authentic.
There’s olive salad, 2 layers of fake meat (mild and not smoky), vegan cheese (some of the best i’ve had). Bread was great. So so tasty and half kept about 8 hrs without getting soggy. Highly recommend.
The praline stuffed brioche is out of this world. The lunch is really good too, the muffeletta is very good as were the burgers. I'd drive the 9 hour trip back just for those brioche buns🤤 make sure to get there early if you want one because they sell fast
Breads on Oak has been a major silver lining for us during our stay in NOLA. We got stuck here during the epic winter storms Uri and Viola. We came here two days in a row (wish we knew about them sooner though). The pumpkin cheddar sandwich was incredible. Baked goods were absolutely scrumptious. I had the best tomato basil soup of my life. The vibes were so chill and homey feeling. Loved being here and eating the wonderful food. Will recommend this place endlessly and come back next time we are in this neck of the woods.
This is hands down the best biscuit/ breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. And I’m not a vegan. It’s been almost a year my boyfriend and I went and we still talk about how good it is almost every week. I cannot describe how good they are with my limited vocabulary so you’ll just have to go try for yourself. I highly recommend the pumpkin biscuit sandwich and any of the brioche. You won’t regret it
This place is heaven! Sweet or savory you can't go wrong. The pumpkin "cheddar" buscuit was delicious. Thumb print cookies, chocolate croissants, and more! Go wild! You won't be disappointed.
Breads on Oak is such a gem of a bakery, a must-visit in NOLA (even if you aren’t vegan)! Yes, everything is totally vegan and totally delicious. The servers are caring, patient and kind - ready to help you with any questions. Had to visit twice during my short trip to the city it was that good. We tried the pumpkin cheddar biscuit, brioche bun, cookies and king cakes filled with Bavarian cream, almond cream and tiramisu, and oat milk latte. The breads are also wonderful and beautifully baked. The bread is very crusty so I recommend getting it sliced unless you have a very good bread knife at home. Everything was outstanding. Our favorite king cake was definitely the Bavarian cream. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
I have tried this bakery again and again and I am just not convinced of it's awesomeness. Everytime I buy bread or any of the pastries, they are extra dry and tasteless. I have to always bring home to heat up and add butter. Even then, I cannot finish the breads. I get it...it's all vegan but can't it be softer or tastier? Plus, there's always little fruit flies flying around so I hesitate to buy any of the sweet stuff. Four stars because I am glad they cater to a certain clientele that probably enjoys this kind of food. Staff is nice and ambiance is relaxing and homey.
Super cute spot! Has some outdoor seating which is a must on a beautiful day. We had three vegan dishes and they were delicious. They play a little bit with dishes from different cultures and make them vegan and delicious. Highly recommend!!!! Would come here all the time if I lived in NOLA.
I ordered the Bazan Biscuit and it was so good. It didn't last long enough for me to even snap a photo. Great atmosphere, great plant-based food.
Breads on oak is one of the rare bakeries in this city that makes delicious bread and using traditional way to do so (no weird ingredients added to their bread, just clean stuff). Their brioches and chocolate croissants, eventhough they're vegan they are delicious and taste like they would from a bakery in Paris. Thank you for all your heart and work you put in this place!
Holy cow. I'm not a meat eater but my husband is. If actually prefer just veg things vs meat substitutes but this place is awesome. The bread is terrific and the fillings on the two sandwiches we got were really tasty. Combine that with a cute courtyard with two sweet cats, solar power, and friendly counter service despite it being the weekend before Mardi gras and therefore crazy busy and we're singing the praises of this place to everyone we know that might be in the area.
Every city needs a Bread On Oak! Amazing selection of quality vegan baked goods, sandwiches and salads. I'd treat myself to BOO every week if I could! I'm from Chicago and there's nothing even close to this there. Their filled brioche, rosemary cookies (gluten-free!), chocolate chip cookies and focaccia are my favorites.
First visit here today with a friend who enjoys vegan. The menu selection is diverse and sparked an extreme curiosity within my tastebuds.
A tid pricey for the selection, but it appears that these are organic ingredients (which explains it).
I ordered the Turkey and Irish cheddar which was delicious. The bread was to crisp and hard for my liking, so I had too the eat the top and bottom breads separately. I will visit again.9
Best vegan spot we visited in New Orleans. There’s a huge variety of sandwiches and pastries available at the counter, and if you somehow can’t find something you like there, there’s a menu with other plates and soups as well.
I had the pumpkin breakfast biscuit with andouille sausage and boy oh boy was it good. The biscuit was creamy and savory, the scramble light and fluffy, and the sausage cooked to perfection with just the right amount of kick. Also tried their quiche which was creamy but not so much that the quiche was too dense and heavy (as many quiches end up being).
My travel buddy tried the bread pudding with the whiskey sauce and reports that it was “very, very good.”
We bought some small loves of bread to-go as we head out of New Orleans this morning. We’ll miss this place greatly and look forward to coming back soon!
My husband and I checked this place out because we love baked goods not knowing it was a 100% vegan restaurant. I opted not to try any of the meat substitutes but the vanilla glazed brioche roll I had was delicious! The chocolate chip cookie was chewy and just right. You wouldn't know you were eating something vegan. My husband had the croque monsieur. It was pretty good but like almost all meat substitutes the ham was a little lackluster. Still tasty though! I think I'll definitely be back, and whether you're vegan or not it's worth checking out. The Sunday we visited it was pretty busy but service was pretty quick. Staff was friendly and I love the use of eco-friendly to go cups for coffee. One warning--coffee is MOLTEN HOT, so be careful.
One of, if not the, best chocolate chip & walnut cookie I’ve ever had. And by ever, I don’t just mean vegan. I mean ever. The buzz of this place can be felt right when you walk in. There’s a real youthful sense of passion & energy. Fresh made everything, an arsenal of pastries, sweets and breads, great coffee, blah blah blah.
It’s really damn good. It’s vegan. It’s New Orleans. 😎
Bakeries like this are usually hard to come by outside of Seattle and San Francisco. I was thrilled to find one in New Orleans. I was celebrating my own mini Pumpkin Palooza so I got a Pumpkin Brioche and a Pumpkin Biscuit with scrambled tofu that was Outstanding! Service was excellent and the bakery has so many nice nooks and crannies if you’re alone, as well as bigger tables if you’re in a group.
On of the best bakeries around. All vegan. Great, unique, delicious food as well!
Awesome local organic bakery shop where everything is VEGAN and homemade and handmade. Everything is delicious omg the fries are amazing with the dipping sauce. The desserts and tea biscuits and everything. Very friendly establishment.
This place was Vegan Heaven!! I literally had to ask the staff if everything was in fact vegan because it seems too good to be true. I wish I lived here so I good enjoy this beautiful place daily! We took some stuff for the road!
If you’re in #NOLA you need to check out this Organic Vegan Eatery. Proof that sustainable food can be and is delicious. You just have to know how to prepare it; which they do very well here!!😉
#biscuittower #pumpkinchedderbiscuit #walnutcinnamonrolls #veganquiche
Do not miss this place. Everything is fire and it’s really a good price. Vegan frittata is so GOOD and the vegan double choc chip cookie was a heaven in my mouth. Also tried a vegan Boston cream brioche muffin and just WOW????
Fantastic! Best biscuits I've ever had & the Cajun Shrimp & Cheese Brioche was unbelievable! These faux meats and cheeses are on point.
Incredible selection of breads, sandwiches, pastries and cookies. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Very nice, quick service and casual ambience. Worth the trip from French quarter to oak street. Oak street has an array of cafes and shops if you want to take a stroll after the meal !!
Great place to enjoy vegan food and cozy vibes. Staff are super nice and there are some interesting books to check out as well. 5 or 6 different zones to sit in so plenty of options. Good air-conditioning and wifi for students. I just wish they stayed open later!
Nice place, tasty food, great and friendly service.
If you're on Oak Street, make sure you stop by this incredible bakery. Everything I've had here so far has been awesome. Highly recommend the Pumpkin Cheddar Biscuit, the Cajun Cheese Brioche and also any of their sweets! Actually, just go ahead and try everything because while I haven't had it yet I'm sure it's all delicious.
So delicious! I order from here regularly, my go to is the cheddar pumpkin biscuit with baked fries but recently my new favorite has become the beaucoup sandwich but I liked it so much better on the biscuit. Now when I order it, I make some bread at home and make a sandwich with it.
They Never Disappoint! Each time I come in Town, this is my go to for Breakfast or brunch. The customer service is always amazing.
Great local (and totally vegan!) bakery. Folks behind the counter were terrifically kind and the offerings were DELICIOUS and at a good price.
Amazing atmosphere, amazing food! The Brioche was excellent and will remember the Vegan Cesar salad was the best I've ever had! I literally stayed a couple hours here without noticing the time go by. Really hoping this company expands to houston!
The McVegan is the best savory food item I've ever eaten in my life. The brioche (literally any flavor they have that day) is also the best sweet food item I've ever had in my life. I come here way too much!
Great bakary with seriously good bread. Lunch items are very tasty and the vegetarian/vegan options are truly amazing and I eat meat. Great place
We stopped here 2 of the 3 days while visiting Nola. The Breakfast sandwiches were huge and tasty. The pastries were fantastic too. Glad to see fully vegan restaurants who make killer food.
Friendly employees! Great food! Great atmosphere! A little cramped when the line gets long but otherwise an excellent experience! Brioche was Perfect! The fries were delicious!
Small place with kind staff and good food. As a non-vegetarian I did not know if I would like it, but was a great dining experience.
I’m reviewing this place a year after going here and i swear i still dream and droll over those coconut rosemary cookies!! Amazing bread and the pumpkin cheddar biscuit was to die for
I love how laid-back this place is. The workers are informative and very friendly. The food is amazing and I can't believe it's all vegan. I like eating in the little courtyard with the cats. This is a special place to have brunch on a lazy Sunday.
Bread, pastries, biscuits that all taste like they should. This place was wonderful. I wish we lived next door so I could have something every day. And by far the best totu scramble I've ever had. We would fly back just to eat here. It's also nice that it's 💯 plant based! …
Had my first full vegan breakfast with an almond milk cappuccino, and I can say that I am far from being disappointed. Everything was fresh and high quality. It made me rethink the my idea of the vegan movement. The sausage biscuit makes me want to go back and try other menu items.
Absolutely delicious food. We've been to many vegan spots everywhere and this is a great spot. Everything is delicious. Great people and great vibes.
I am a Big fan of the the creations of Breads on Oak street they make plant based foods that excite my old meat palate. The Vegan chocolate King cake is un matched in all the best ways. The service is sure to assure you it is all made and served with Love, Respect for the Environment, Earth and Our bodies. Thanks Ya'll
Great place for lunch with many vegan options (everything is vegan and everything I tried was super delicious). Has outdoor seeting.
Such an amazing restaurant. The baked goods are some of the best I’ve had in my life. The staff is super friendly. I’ve experienced many plant based restaurants around the world and Breads on Oak is by far one of the best. It’s a shame there isn’t more locations throughout Louisiana. Would highly recommend giving it a try regardless if you are plant based or not.
This place is the best place in Louisiana for me! I’m so proud of people who work there and so grateful this place exists. Everything I’ve tried was so good. Thank you so much for bringing real food to the neighborhood! Sourdough bread made from scratch, delicious cookies, quiche and sandwiches. Healthy breakfast options and good coffee, great place for lunch as well.
I ordered a vegan mocha and vegan quiche and they both were delicious! Very cute little outdoor patio with cats playing in the trees.
This is one of those places where I inwardly questioned.. is this really vegan? ... It is! The whole menu is vegan!
The Croque Monsieur is like a French cheesy ham cheese pastry cheese thing. Cheese. Vegan? Cheese. Damn.
There is a very cute back courtyard with tables and umbrellas and cats. I got a bunch of treats (cookies, scones, cake etc...) to go. Had a yummy cold brew as well. Highly recommend.
Vegan heaven. Omg. You can be a fat happy vegan here. The nice thing is. Everything is vegan. So no need to discriminate against any of the items. They are all vegan. And freaking yummy.
We drove a couple miles to get here. But well worth it. They also have a small courtyard seating area.
Great selection of baked goods and drinks. Tried the banana bread bread pudding and it was tasty. Local kombucha in the cooler was an added bonus.
Went here for breakfast this morning. We tried the cheesy grits, ham & cheese, and Boston eclair. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We plan to return before we leave the city!
Great coffee. Had a cold brew w/almond milk & lavender. My wife had a latte, French vanilla half caffeine
We were so lucky to find this bakery on our last day! Baked goods on point... I would highly recommend it to anyone! I had the olive bread and it reminded me of home (I'm greek)😍 …
Wow! The pumpkin cheddar biscuit and the tower were both soo good! Wish I could have eaten even more
Don't eat vegan food at all but I enjoyed their breakfast. Their pastries are fantastic.
Super friendly, nice ambiance, excellent coffee and really good burgers! Also a big variety if different cakes and breads. All fresh and vegan!
Not bad but expensive for not having a lot of size to it. People who like sandwiches and bread will enjoy it, but I would save the money.
Service was outstanding. Love the atmosphere and food is to die for! We sat outside and were greeted by a very friendly kitty that hung out with us while we waited for our food.
We had the "Egg McVegan" "Friendly Pig" and "TLTA" sandwiches. They all had very distinctly different flavors and were all absolutely delicious.
On our way out we also got a Maple Walnut Cinnamon Roll. Sooooooo good! Definitely recommend and will be back. 😁
Delicious food, all of which happens to be vegan. I am not vegan, and this is one of my favorite bakeries. All of the dishes are delicious. ex: I had the beet burger recently. I hate beets, but love this store and someone said it was good so I figured i would try it. it was Phenomenal!
If you're a huge fan or organic products, then this is your place to go. Good selection of breads and pastries. Try the cinnamon roll or the Irish tea biscuits and enjoy it with coffee. Excellent!
Damn that's good bread! I happened to go on a Sunday... which is the right day to go because they had out a buffet of all the different kinds of bread and some butters to go with them. The cultured butter on the olive bread was fantastic, and all the breads were great. They insisted that the cultured butter was vegan, but it was still some of the best butter I've ever had.
Excellent food! Good menu with a bit of variety. Everything I had here was sensational.
Liked the vibe and eco-consciousness but not the dry, leaden tea cake that was recommended to me.
Everything was delicious here. The sandwiches, burgers, and baked goods were all fresh and amazing. You would not even know it was all vegan. The staff was friendly, and it is a really cute place. We visited on our trip to New Orleans and decided we definitely need to come back one more time before we go home.
Even their bargain bid bread--$3--is better than everything you can get at any grocery store.
Enjoyed their breads. They bake and sell fresh bread there and throughout the restaurants in New Orleans. There's other dishes they sell quiche and some sandwiches and soups I enjoyed my dining experience there and return over and over.
Everything is delicious — I always stop by when I’m in town!
Boston cream pie brioche was to die for! Everything was delicious and all vegan!!
Hands down the BEST breakfast biscuit I've ever had. EVER. The place is like heaven - wonderful smells of fresh baking treats and gorgeous loaves, and beautiful, friendly souls ready to help! We had the pumpkin "cheddar" one with vegan andouille sausage and spinach, and the eggs o vegan one, and have a couple of yummy tea biscuits waiting for our afternoon snack. We will most likely go there the remaining days of our trip here, and highly recommend everything! ❤️
amazing service
amazing food
super friendly
we love coming here every time we are in NOLA
I wanted to start my 36th birthday off healthy, and Breads On Oak was the perfect place to do it. Myself and three others enjoyed the mimosas, Muffanadas, vegan quiche and a three tier chocolate ganache cake. The staff greeted me with Happy Birthday and made my day very special. I really enjoyed it.
I'm not a vegan, but I went with someone who is. I tried the cinnamon roll and the grits. This was only my second day trying vegan food and it was better than I expected. I wasn't sure if I'd like the grits or not but it was actually good. I couldn't do the whole bowl but I did try enough of it to see if it was something that I would like. It's a nice hangout spot. You order at the front and you get a buzzer. They have several seats throughout the building to choose from. I thought that it was just the tables in the front area but you have to go through the entry way for more seats. It's family friendly as well. I would go back to try something new.
The quality of the backed good has declined a bit. They have lost their delicacy.
Best vegan lunch I've ever had. Very flavorful and I love the fact that everything on the menu is plant based.
Outrageous delicious-ness from all angles. The biscuits were such that I thought I’d never have again as a vegan. Soups to pastries — also all excellent.
Atmosphere is great and the service is wonderful as well. The king cake is fantastic.
I know they are a vegetarian/vegan place but I do wish they had milk for their coffee. They can certainly find ethically sourced milk and not just have oat, almond, and soy juice.
Of course, this is an ideal place for vegetarians and Carnivorous alike. You will not miss the meat, believe me.
Every dish has been delightfully prepared. It tasted fresh an flavorful. Most importantly, it's has been wrapped with a touch kindness and compassion.
That's the whole idea. To offer a variety of healthy food for everyone to enjoy. Every time we go there, we feel we are helping our planet, but most importantly, our aging bodies.
Absolutely wonderful food with a selection of very tasty treats. The inside and outside dining areas are full of character, especially the outside dining area that has a frog waterfall and many plants!
Great vegan food
Nice staff
Shame they don’t take cash
Loved the burger, that vegan patty was really tasty!
Incredible pastries and sandwiches! And all vegan too!
This place is fantastic. The Mufanada was unreal. The king cakes... Just delicious. My girls had the Simply Impossible and both cleared the plate. And every item here is vegan. It's truly remarkable and I can't recommend enough. Even if you aren't a vegan, you will love the flavors and what they are able to create. From breads to burgers. Well done!
Awesome vegan food !! Sandwiches were great and pastries were terrific!!
Love how they check vaccine cards. Ordered about 6 items. The bayou burger and the sandwich with provolone and jalepanos were good choices. Wasn't too thrilled with the other items. Ordered fries and literally came with 5 fries. Don't think I've ever seen such a small portion of fries in my entire life. I like the dining in setup. Overall would go again but just a heads-up the portions are a bit smaller.
Great variety of vegan options - loved the food here.
Wonderful food- attentive and kind staff. And a no judgment zone! My vegan and non-vegan fam LOVE this place. If you're dining inside, don't forget your vax card. If eating outside, there is a great water dish for our four legged family members. 🐕 ❤ …
Bread on Oak is THE place to eat in NOLA! Vegan or not, you will love the food! I promise! Out of your way? Go! It's worth it!
A little information about me, I have both an egg allergy and a lactose intolerance so you already know how hard it is for me to find desserts to eat. But this place is the definition of AMAZING! Of course I’d looked at the reviews before coming to this bakery and little did I know, it’s the #1 vegan bakery in town!! I had also been surprised to know that there were a few (very sweet!) cats in this bakery so we got to pet them and see how pretty they are. I had gotten the strawberry almond cake and although it was $6 a slice, it was definitely worth it!! Would come again 100%
A Must Stop Location!!! If you are in New Orleans and not stopping here, you are missing out. Amazing food, friendly people and All Vegan. So many options to chose from and each one delicious. Will be hitting this place up a few more times before we leave for sure! Love it!! ♥️
I'm not a vegan, and the food and coffee was great. The staff was friendly and informed on the bread and nosh. If I lived closer this would be a weekly spot. They are open for inside seating as well as outside.
We had an artichoke and cheese brioche and it was quite delightful. Would definitely recommend. Support Local 504 🙂
Really delicious food even if you're not vegan. Other than their obvious (and really good) veggie burger patties, you'd wouldn't be able to easily tell that their food has no egg or dairy. Relating to social distancing, they seem to be trying to be careful, the only downside is that the walking space is very limited inside with tables against the window and the counter being so big. There's a courtyard to area if you want to eat there and be a little more careful. We ate inside since it wasn't busy at the time and it was fine.
The breads here are the best on this end of the city. The olive bread will have you back week after week. The vegan offerings are a welcome respite from the very meat centric culinary landscape with options to suit myriad tastes.
Absolutely love this spot! Praline brioche and almond creme brioche were amazing! The staff are extremely nice and inviting! I recommend grabbing your first coffee of the day here before venturing out into the city. You won't be disappointed!
My favorite spot in Nola. Best vegan food I've come across, and the bread is incredible. The Big Daddy Burger is a go-to for sure, and really no matter what you go with it's gonna be great. Sunday's they have a big plate of all sorts of different breads and toppings for them. It's a great opportunity to check out all the different things you can buy from here. And their large loafs make a great addition to any family meal. 10/10 will definitely be going back and would recommend.
Big Daddy Burger was good 👍 Great vegetarian options
Fantastic vegan sandwiches and pastries. Very friendly staff. If you are vegan this place is a must go. Even if you are not vegan, you will love the immense flavor of all items at this place! A New Orleans gem and a testament to the diversity of food options in this great city!
Great vegan fare and tasty baked goods in a relaxed and pleasant setting. If you're not vegan or vegetarian, you'll still enjoy the top-notch breakfast/brunch/lunch type fare here.
Great bakery, organic items and food!! Coffee is local and tasty!! Great little spot
Amazingly delicious food. Super friendly staff. Fun and comfortable atmosphere. We went close to closing with a large group and they were super accommodating. Their in house burgers are delicious, but we also tried their melt with the impossible burger and it was IMPOSSIBLY delicious. We would have each ordered a second if it wasn't for the fact that they were already closing up the kitchen! We ended up buying out the rest of their baked goods and eating them on the road. Also... All vegan and all delicious!
My favorite bakery in New Orleans! The first couple of times I went there I didn’t even realize it was a vegan place, the food was that good. It wasn’t until I started following them on social media that I discovered it’s vegan. The fact that it’s in my favorite part of town makes it all the better. All the employees are super friendly and ready to answer your questions. If it was possible, I’d go every day!
Wow best breakfast sandwich (the tower) and really awesome southwestern soup! I loved the cinnamon rolll and brioche as well! Friendly staff! Everything is vegan and they have signs everywhere that say that but are still super nice to you even if you’re the weird vegan that has to be annoying and ask. Very cute court yard dining area that sometimes has kitty cats. I even left my wallet here and they were nice enough to mail it back to me. Thank you so much for a magical experience I am eternally grateful for your products and service! Can’t wait to come back!
My fave local bakery filled with delicious vegan options (but you'd never know they were vegan!). Amazing bread, cookies, and meals. And during Mardi Gras, the best of the best vegan kingcakes.
Great food, amazing atmosphere. I really enjoy the TLT, tempeh lettuce tomato with avocado. Their tea and coffee options pair well with a Brioche. I visit this place at least twice any time I'm in NOLA.
Omgiggles!! This place is amazing!!! Stopped in on way from FL to Austin. In all my decades as a vegan i have never had any bread so good. We had the pumpkin cheddar biscuit sandwich, the mighty melt (nice and spicy 😈), chocolate chip cookie, brownie, and boston cream brioche (to die for!). Everything tasted decadent, well worth the money. Nice staff that didnt mind explaining things, rustic atmosphere, and seeing the actual bakery behind back of employees made it feel so intimate.
I’m lucky that this place isn’t closer to me because I would eat there every day. Their vegan burger is delicious, and I could not stop eating all the cookies. I am lactose intolerant and do not have a lot of great options for tasty food, but now I have found my joint
Great vegan bakery. Delicious sandwiches, cookies, coffee and avocado toast. The pumpkin cheddar biscuit sandwich was truly exceptional. Breads on Oak would satisfy even the most vegan-skeptic meat eater, and I only wish there were more places like it.
All the hype you've heard is true! You'd never know this is a vegan place other than how good you feel when you leave. The food, the beer, and the baked goods selections are all top tier. The staff is very friendly and are happy to talk to you about the benifits of a vegan diet. The courtyard area is very cute and inviting
It was truly an amazing experience!! So happy to see NEW ORLEANS making waves....... Best Vegan Burger EVER!! THE BAKERY, COOKIES, & COFFEE was jus a bonus. Filtered FREE water 😋😋😋 Will be going back after I lose 10lbs …
They aren't named the number one bakery in Louisiana for anything!
There isn't a thing there that isn't good. I have to go everytime I'm in New Orleans. Their bread is so soft and delicious, it's mouthwatering!
And their vegan meat, cheese, and egg taste so similar to the real thing.
Not to mention the employees are always so friendly and helpful, and the shop is always so clean!
If you are ever looking for a bakery, please go check this place out! You wont be disappointed! 👍
Definitely a bakery worth visiting. Go hungry!
Love this place. Their breakfast sandwiches and sweet brioche’s are absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend, vegan and non vegans alike have all enjoyed their meals when I’ve brought them.
Wonderful place! Nice people, great service, great food!! It is vegan, but this guy had no issue at all finding something delicious to eat. Will will will go back!
Food was spectacular 😋😋 …
Vegan menu - all items are plant based! I had the patty melt sandwich which looked small but was excellent and ended up being quite filling. Tried an almond cream brioche bun which was delicious with lots of cinnamon and maybe too much almond cream. I know it is difficult to get a good brioche texture without eggs, but the bun was overly stodgy and very heavy. The recipe needs some adjustments. Didn't try any loaves this time but they looked amazing and I will be back for them!
It's cute, quaint and quiet. It keeps earlier hours but the food is good. There are several gluten free options and vegan options. I like how most of the ingredients are listed on the item's label, but if not, just ask a staff member and they will tell you exactly what's in a dish. They are knowledgeable and kind. It's a place I like to go.
The bread is fantastic, they're happy to let you sample soup and sometimes they have free bread and spreads out. Cookies, brioche, and the gf brownie are ALL delicious. Cozy little environment and very friendly staff. I keep going back!
Was very happy with the various vegan pastries they had. Cinnamon rolls were fantastic!
Too bad the "vegan croissants" are only available on Sunday. Coffee was not so good, quite sour. Prices were high for the area, but I'm happy to pay those for vegan + organic pastries.
Absolutely fantastic plant based bakery....I had their muffanada and it was delicious . Thank you Breads On Oak !!! For the great food and wonderful service. We will definitely be back !
The coffee here is amazing! The food is fresh and delicious and the employees all seem happy to be there. I love stopping by when I can. The live food sandwich singlehandedly changed my mind about healthy food having to taste bad. You won't be disappointed, especially if you're vegetarian or vegan.
LOVE this bakery!! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Large selection of items to choose from whether it be loaves of bread, breakfast sandwiches or sweet biscuits. My favorite is the almond cream swirls! While not all of their foods are dairy/egg free, the majority is! If you're a vegan, this is a MUST go to place while in New Orleans!!!
OH MY GOODNESSS! This place is absolutely amazing, definitely my new favorite place! It was our first visit and we had three sandwiches, multiple boston creams, a praline pastry, the bread-- and all of these things were VEGAN, and so delicious!! These were the best vegan goodies and foods I've had...ever.. no, seriously, best bread, best pastries, best sandwiches & the customer service was top notch! Even if you're not vegan, GO! try it all, you will not be let down-- it may even help you make the switch :) there's other options, but lets be real, vegan is the way to go! #1 place to go in NOLA!! So happy we found you!
Delicious vegan fare in NOLA. I'll be back one day again.
HOLY COW, less the cow, that’s pretty effin good and I’m not even a vegetarian much less a vegan, like everything on their menu is and the pickled cauliflower and broccoli they serve on the side of the sandwich(very hearty bread), ummm perfezione 🤌👍👍
Great selections at good price. Order delivery and the service was good and very fast.
Nice space, kind people who know their customers and super delicious food. We had the TLTA (tempeh, lettuce, tomato and avocado) sandwich, baked fries and two of their cakes, a strawberry almond and Irish chocolate. The bread was so hearty and crunchy and we loved the aioli sauce for the fries. Everything was so fresh. Can’t wait to go back again and try more!
My friend took me here to lunch when i visited. Love this place. Had live food sandwich. The food was so good. Constant people coming in. Wish I live by here. It would definitely be my favorite place to eat.
Decent selection. Coffee tasted good. Wish the staff was a bit more friendly. Best thing about Breads on Oak is the cute lil courtyard in the back. Too bad it was too cold to sit outside. Maybe next time!
This is an all vegan bakery and cafe. You can purchase artisan breads from here along with a variety of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, regurlar sandwiches and burgers. The impossible burger is sold here as well. The staff is super friendly. It's a very popular place so the tables inside are normally full. There is a small outdoor area where you can sit curbside and enjoy a quick bite.
I come here every year for my Birthday...that’s how awesome this bakery is to me. When we have guest that take our tour and ask about vegan options this bakery is on top of my list.
I wondered in today and had the Pumpkin Cheddar Biscuit and the Peanut Butter Blondie. Their consistency never fails to amaze. Their eats are delicious and begs the question...is this really vegan?
As an added bonus I chatted with the owner and learned that she painted a print that hung in my apartment for over a decade. She has this amazing cat series with a cat posing at different iconic New Orleans locations. I decided to get a postcard of the cat having coffee at Breads on Oaks outdoor seating. (The post cards are by the register).
Thanks y’all! Visiting your bakery is always a treat!

Owner of Flambeaux Bicycle Tours
Best bakery in Nola! The tiramisu eclaires are amazing. All the breads are spectacular. Super friendly service and nice outdoor seating
I went here because it was one of the limited food options in the area near the concert venue we were at and let me tell you. I'm still thinking about that biscuit sandwich I had. I'm typically not a huge fan of vegan swaps like eggs and meat products, being a vegetarian myself I prefer to just skip those things. 😅 However, the damn thing was deliciou . Flavorful, And I'm sad I only bought one. Currently looking for things to do on that side of town so we can swing by again.
I've been here a few times now, and if you are a vegan in New Orleans, this place is a must stop.
You can't go wrong with any of their brioche flavors and the lunch food is great too.
Also the picked broccoli that comes on the side of sandwiches is actually magic.
The best vegan bakery anywhere. Delicious breakfast sandwiches, wonderful brioche buns and so much more. When in New Orleans I ALWAYS ALWAYS go to Breads on Oak. Their cream filled brioche and King cakes are beyond incredible, seriously.
This place is amazing. If you’re vegan it’s a must visit. If your not vegan doesn’t matter it’s incredible. Go to breads on oak now.
I love the bread at Breads on Oak! They have a lot of delicious pastries and sandwiches as well! There is nice indoor and outdoor seating. I have also definitely enjoyed their oatmilk lattes.
Best bread pudding ever AND cute cat
The best bakery in NOLA! If you are looking for organic, vegan and deliciousness go to Breads on Oak now! Not to be missed if you are visiting the city or live here. Breads on Oak has everything from artisan breads, pastries, cakes, sandwhiches, salads, soups, coffee and more! Take advantage of the tranquil courtyard in the back to eat and relax!
Really great place to go to breakfast with your girlfriend or your wife. Plenty of outdoor seating. Also good if you're on the go. Being from Mississippi, I love the biscuits. A+
I'm not even vegan and they got me eating here every day and sometimes twice a day even on my days off. It's just really good stuff!
The place is very clean. The few breads that I tried were excellent. The staff is all right, though one girl was a bit short with me. The prices are on the high side, but they do tend to attract the more affluent uptown New Orleans residents.
I was looking for a small place to get a king cake sent to a friend who used to live in NOLA. Everyone gets the big bakeries, but I had read some amazing reviews of Breads on Oak and decided to try it out. She received it and immediately let me know that it was the best king cake she had ever eaten! (Bavarian Cream filled, btw) I haven't had the chance to try anything from Breads on Oak, but the raving my friend did, I am anxiously waiting to get over there myself! Thank you so much for the king cake delivery and making an old NOLA friend so happy! And, Happy Mardi Gras!
Amazing options that include gluten free!! Must try!
Absolutely love this place. I have never had a single bad item from here. When I first discovered Breads I came here for four days straight. Great food and friendly service.
If you have changed your eating habits and want a vegan option you can trust, then breads on Oak is that place. I've been vegan for over 2 years now and I can always find something I like at breads on Oaks. The service is nice and prices are worth the product.
the best spot in the city for vegan pastries!! so reasonably priced, too, for such spectacular specialty items. i try to get here twice a week--at least. also wonderful vegan sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. super cute and sweet staff too!
Quality control needed. The Container for the $10 salad just bought was only 1/2 filled. The fries didn’t have sauce on two separate orders (the sauce makes it).
I actually like breads on oak when they get it right but can’t understand being skimpy on things like lettuce!
Bread is excellent. The baked goods leave a lot to be desired. The cookies are an acquired taste. I would stay away from the brioche though, they are messy and have the texture of a stale doughnut.
Making Vegan foods with delicious flavor profiles and textures.
The entire store is vegan. I went for the king cake which is only made around mardi gras. They had multiple flavors including plain, filled and alcohol infused. The cake also didn't have artificial colors or flavors. Glad I found this place for my 1st king cake.
100 percent vegan and good quality ingredients. Rated number one bakery on Louisiana. Has all the right French pastries and the prices aren't bad at all. This is the only place to get an authentic french baguette in New Orleans.
Five stars! I went back three days in a row. I’m currently snacking on their discount bread. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town.
My only note it that I wish ordering was more fluid. It was really loud and I had to restate my order like five times, each time I went it.
Best bakery in the states, hands down. You seriously can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Bonus points for being entirely cruelty-free. Worth a trip from wherever you are at the moment. Zero disappointments!
Amazing food! Bread, brownies, sandwiches, cake - all delicious
Vegan in New Orleans?
Make the trek to this place and you will be greeted with smiles, great organic food, a clean spot, kind staff and a host of other friendly customers.
Simply wonderful. :)
BEST cinnamon roll I have ever had. Fun vegan breakfast sandwiches, great vibe, friendly folks behind the counter. Great experience every time! Hope to get to the Oak St. location at some point, but Carondelet location is <3
They need to update the menu. We were told they were all vegan but since the menu said beef hamburger, we assumed that meant the bread. However, it was a beet patty. The bread was good, but I didn't like the beet patty. Not sure what vegan cheese is either.
Live Veggie sandwich rules. Yes, it's a sandwich. No poboys here. Good service, Irish people and some charming dining areas throughout.
The brioche was perfect. The razzberry tea was super tasty with free refills. I didnt love what I ordered but the place smells so amazing that I definitely will come back and try again.
Delightful first time visit to this appealing, vegan bakery and Cafe. Many types of foods available, wonderful looking (and tasting!) baked goods AND possibly the best Cafe au Lait I have had in a long time. Friendly, helpful staff...I will definitely be back.
Best vegan food in town! I've never eaten anything bad at Breads on Oak. My only wish is that they had later weekend hours.highly recommended for baked goods and meals.
Love their food , love that their menu is 100% vegan! Fast service and great atmosphere , will return
Super cozy and cute place. The food was good and the service was great. We sat outside in the courtyard where there are a few street cats who are very friendly. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our food and getting to pet some cats.
Great Coffee. Take a moment to sit in the back patio and enjoy yer cup of joe.
The cookies were delectable! Friendly staff. Located far from the bustle of the french quarter. Reachable via streetcar and a small stroll.
I love this place. The smell, the friendly staff, and the sweets. My faves are the cinnamon brioche and the morning glory. I'm not vegan, but I still pop in for breakfast.
This place is really great. I tried the muffanda and my wife tried the tempeh blt, both great sandwiches and would definitely eat them again. Not to talk down on the muffanda, which taste great and had a lot of unique flavors, but I think the tempeh blt was what stole the show.
We also ate a few baked goods. The double chocolate chip cookie, chocolate chip and walnut cookie, the chocolate brownie and a raisin biscuit. All were very good and actually taste like cookies, and the brownie taste like a brownie.
Being that I'm vegan I don't eat biscuits that often. The biscuits here taste exactly how I remember non-vegan biscuits tasting. Awesomeeeeeeeee.
Really great hidden gem on my trip to New Orleans.
Fantastic flavors and friendly staff. As a vegan it’s hard to find good food and this place goes a long way to solve that problem. Their Mighty Melt was buttery and cheesy and I could not believe it didn’t have there real deal in it.
i love this place the aioli biscuit is sooo good and the cesar salad is tasty they offer only a small portion of their pastries/breads for delivery the croissants r dreamy great coffee super cutesy space love love love only thing is id avoid the non biscuit sandwiches/burgers they aren't the best
Breads on Oak is always good. I've had different biscuit sandwiches and just yesterday I had the Muffanada. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in quite some time. So many flavors in one delicious sandwich
One of the best vegan bakery’s on the planet 😍 …
Organic AND vegan bakery? They're practically calling me by name. Tasty options at a decent price and guilt-free to boot. Not a ton of seating available, but it's doable for up to a few people. Not in the most glamorous neighborhood setting, but hey, it's NOLA. Every block is an adventure.
This place is awesome. The majority of this menu offers vegan options. As well has some other dietary needs like gluten-free. The food is amazing and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
A vegan haven (although not entirely vegan). I adored their reuben and had to try their take on a muffaletta. I also couldn't resist testing their chocolate chip cookie and lemon tart (for research purposes). Just ride the St. Charles line out there, enjoy the views and the 10 minute walk to the place. Or grab a cab. Definitely worth wandering outside of the French Quarter area for their delectable eats.
Breads On Oak never disappoints. This all vegan bakery and cafe now has croissants on the weekends. They are wonderful.
I worked here for 3 months and it is honestly the BEST PLACE to work. It is super laid back and everyone is an adult. They understand that sometimes life happens and you have to call in. I got a card for my birthday and it was the most Peaceful job. I was sad to leave this place. To be in New Orleans it is truly a gem. Thank you so much Sean and Chamain for the opportunity to work for you. I will keep sending people your way!! Lots of Love from Laramie Wyoming!!!!
Absolutely delicious! One of the guys inside took time out of his day to tell us all about his favorite local vegan restaurants. Can't wait to try them out!
The food here is always fantastic, coupled with the amazing staff and a pleasant atmosphere this is for sure one of my favorite places in the city!
Everything is plant based and delicious! Even my omnivorous friends love the food there. Not nearly as pricy as some vegan restaurants
Love this place, could eat here everyday.
I recommend the pumpkin cheddar biscuit and the muffanada. But, literally everything here is delicious! ❤😍🤤 …
Vegan brioche! Yes, heaven.
Great food, great service.
The Mighty Melt
The best place in the area for multigrain bread - the heavy variety that really fills you up. This is also a good place for vegan food options. And the limited seating area is cozy.
The sandwich I had was on the perfect bread. I am by no means a vegan, but the vegannaise that topped that turkey sandwich had a perfect flavor combination that just made each bite that much more delicious.
Awesome place! Can you believe that EVERYTHING is vegan? Even cheese and bacon that they serve. Fantastic!
Just visited it. Very nice place! Nice music as well. Cappuccino was very good! I have yet to try the food but I'm sure it's good as well(Update: I tried the food and it was very delicious!). Overall 5 stars. MotoSprayz out.
Buy the almond croissant! Absolutely delicious!
Excellent bakery! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They use wholesome ingredients and have plant based options. I'll be back for sure!
Adorable little bakery with a great selection of vegan baked goods and sandwiches. Recently we took a group of non-vegans for brunch and they were wowed by how good the food was.
We usually get their breakfast sandwiches...weekly, which are great. Their bread, cookies, and coffee are awesome too. Outdoor seating out front and a underrated hidden courtyard in the back. All organic and a lot of vegan stuff too, if you’re into that ;).
These people and this place... I'm dying to get back there! The sandwiches were just ok, baked goods and breakfast were great. Vegan quiche and the filled brioche blew our minds. Don't skip the brioche!
What a special place this is! It was literally our first stop after getting off the plane to NOLA. All vegan, all delicious and everything is made with a lot of heart and soul. Can't wait to go back one day!
A friend of mine took me here and it exceeded my expectations. Great little place for great food and fresh made breads. I had a sandwich and coffee that were both excellent.
This is an amazing bakery. Even if you’re not a vegan. Yes all the selections are vegan. Although if you went in there and you did not know this you probably wouldn’t even notice. This is a beautiful location where you can eat and also have a coffee. Or take your selection to go. Everything is organic. Everything is vegan. Try the French baguettes! Don’t miss the cinnamon walnut brioches. The salads are healthy and good and fresh.
Get there early for best selection.
This place is amazing! I was looking for a vegan place to try and many family members recommended Breads on Oak. One of their best recipes here is their veggie quiche. This place has introduced me to possible vegan recipes to make, especially their pumpkin biscuit.
I have family who isn't vegan and would come here again without thinking twice :)
Totally delicious amazing food cannot rate this place highly enough. Their pumpkin cheddar muffin knocked it out of the park. Vegan southern breakfast paradise.
Friends join us to wish Z & A save travel and great adventures on their move to San Fran💖 Special Brioche & Carrot Cake w taste of Champagne Raspberry Cake....oh, Yummm. Will miss my visits to you Breads on Oak but promise to get back! …
Awesome coffee and great pasties! Love the design of the place as well! Definitely recommend it if you are in the area.
Earthy, comfortable, has a cat wandering around. Friendly staff. Many vegan sandwiches including tofu scrambles for breakfast, small bites at the counter, and of course loaves of bread.
Not only was the food amazing and satisfying, the owners and employees are so compassionate and kind. I love the cats too!!!! 💚 will recommend to anyone staying in New Orleans. …
I had the friendly pig and it was fantastic. The coffee was great and got to meet the owner before we left. Great guy and really love his enthusiasm for their amazing little spot.
Wow. Just wow. Best vegan spot in town. I gotta say as a meat eater the muffaletta (muffanada) is as good as any around.
Full vegan bakery and pastries shop. Very conscious and friendly. Food is amazing and mimics the favorites that got lost when you go vegan. Try anything with a busciut
This place is amazing!!! The food is very very good! My daughter and I went for breakfast and everything were had came out fast and fresh! We will come back the next time we are in New Orleans!
Very nice, attentive people with a clean place. I had the bestest french toast. They do NOT always have it. I am so disappointed.
Please consider it a menu item as it would do very well.
Biscuits are divine...moist but flavorful. Grits taste just like home. A bit far to get to but worth it. Will definitely come back tomorrow!
Delicious bread and pastries and great service. Prices way too high, though. $11 for a load of bread! Whoa! They make Whole Foods prices look cheap...
Very good food. Vegan can enjoy the food which is difficult to get outside can have here. Nice service and friendly staff makes experience more beautiful.
The best bakery for quality and taste. I have never had anything that was less than great and I am a critical judge. I had the king cake the other day, which I am not a fan of, but theirs was tasty. I just tried the muffanada for lunch and it was incredible.
These pastries are made with compassion, you can taste it, I usually don't frequent pastry shops but they make good products that really appease, Ill definiy stop by again
Easy parking, very crowded (saturday at 1pm), cool vibe, friendly staff and super delicious sweet potato biscuit sandwich. Definitely worth a stop in for a great breakfast or lunch!
Fantastic bakery. The bread is amazing as is everything else. The cruffins (croissant muffins) are my favorite along with the stuffed brioche. Great helpful staff.
Great spot. Food tasted delicious. I'm not a vegan or on a gluten free diet but I would still recommend this to everyone.
Amazing food with great vegan choices. We will certainly come again next time we visit new Orleans. Thank you!
Hurricane Barry was moving in but these nice people opened up early on Saturday and made our morning. Delicious iced coffee and fantastic almond butter croissant. mucho gracias :)
Wow! What can I say? This place is amazing! We tried the Muffannada and the Happy Hen! Both were amazing but the Muffannada was spectacular. It’s a cozy spot, warm and inviting staff, plus wonderful vegan options!! I’d come back in a heartbeat!
Great place for a plant based meal! All if their food is plant based, all vegan. The burger that I ordered was so delicious as well as filling.
They have good bread but they don't sell muffins! I think i would appreciate this place much more if they sold muffins. Typical this is a thing i want from a bakery. A quality muffin
Beautiful place with wonderful staff. Everything was delicious, and a great variety. All vegan is a pleasant surprise.
This place is great, even if the area is a tiny bit off. I've been there a couple times, and both times were good! My favorite thing there was probably the Irish tea biscuit, it was great, and I did indeed enjoy it with some tea. The people are nice, and one of the employees remembered me, which, there is no way faster into my heart as a customer than someone remembering me.
I would go check it out, you won't regret it!
Great people... best organic and vegan options in the city. Don't buy your sliced loaves, baguettes or breakfast sandwiches/treats anywhere else!
Walking in the front door I was already excited about what was to come. The Happy Hen sandwich and brioche I ordered were delightful and the service was so friendly, even when I was having trouble picking just one treat. It was definitely worth the trek from downtown.
Very tasty sandwiches. And wide selection of delicious breads and pasteries. Good coffee too
Great Vegan options. Weird hours though. Closed Monday and Tuesday??? Then they close for weeks at a time when the owners go on vacation??? What, do you not trust your staff?
Great selection on healthy options and excellent bread. Highly recommended!
Wonderful breads, sandwiches, deserts, also great for vegan and vegetarian selections.
Favorite spot to get breakfast! Their vegan options are numerous and absolutely delicious! Check out that patio, if your a cat person!
Even if you are not vegan, you will leave here more than satisfied! Fabulous sour dough hard crust bread. Great pastries.
Great bakery. The most - and best - vegan baked goods in town.
they had great vegan options and really tasty coffee. the staff was also friendly. would recommend to a friend
Vegans rejoice. Not just breads here! You'll find delicious soups and desserts as well, plus a super-friendly staff willing to please. Stop by!!
Better than I thought it would be. If you like bread this is your place. If not get the soup of the day.
The kombucha mushroom people,
Sitting around all day,
Who can believe you,
Who can believe you,
Let your mother pray, (sugar)
So friendly. The olive bread is to die for. Best baggette in the city. Highest quality breads in New Orleans.
I cannot believe everything here is vegan bc it is all so good and creamy and yummy. Did not know you didn’t need dairy to have this much of a good time.
incredibly delicious with a wide variety of options (and amazing coffee). I cannot recommend this gem enough.
Best vegan pastries in the city, perhaps the world. Worth the line in the mornings. Personal favorites are the Irish Tea Biscuits and the Pumpkin Cheddar Sandwich. Absolutely would recommend to vegans and non-vegans alike.
Delicious! Highly recommend the pumpkin cheddar biscuit and the tiramisu brioche. So good!
Amazing food, All Vegan. And Fantastic customer service.!
Definitely worth stopping by. Always.!
Great place - love the staff. Vegan or not it’s awesome!!
Excellent service, the people are always friendly and polite, the pumpkin cheddar biscuit sandwich is absolutely my favorite, so so so delicious!
Fantastic vegan bakery and cafe. Make sure to try a biscuit sandwich!
Seems to have changed hands. Nice menu, which looks better , than it tastes. Good portions. I know I am comparing it to the way it was. I do like fresh breads , etc.
The breads are very tasty, even if you are not a vegan. I am particularly fond of the biscuit bravado too.
Great bakery option for vegan and vegetarians. Really great items like their brioche and sandwiches. Can have a long line.
The food here is so good! Below is a picture of the Shrimp Brioche. Don’t let the name fool you, they sale more than just bread.
Best coffee I've had in nola. Kind customer service, and delicious food!
Excellent quality , friendly staff , and also a nice selection vegan and vegetarian options .
The best vegan food in NOLA and their coffee is pretty amazing too. The shop cats are also 10/10 great, would definitely pet again.
Consistently delicious, and friendly. The Olive bread is fantastic, and their chocolate chip cookie is my favorite I have ever eaten.
Delicious vegan food, cozy atmosphere.
Fabulous... if you appreciate healthy clean food and a wonderful welcoming smile and staff this is the place.
Funky cool vibe on Oak..just a walk from my Airbnb
A can't miss for clean food
best bakery this side of town and maybe all of the city with a cool chill vibe and great coffee(organic, fair trade, locally roasted). just great people all around and amazing baked goods(low gluten organic flour). met the owners at the Nola VeggieFest, and have been going in when I can ever since. great discover for me here. discovery it for yourself. do not go off of any negative "foodie/critic wannabe" reviews. it's with the trip across town.
I couldn't believe everything here was vegan! Simply amazing. The brioche and the biscuits are unbelievable.
Great food! Vegan everything! I'm not vegan but I love their food.
This is my favorite bakery. I'm not vegan. I have lately developed some crazy allergies and inflammation and I never have to worry about the baked goods I purchase here. Plus everything tastes amazing. The brioche is phenomenal. The tiramisu king cake is decadent and delightful while still tasting like traditional king cake. I also love the heartier fare.. The berry scones, the olive bread, the nutty boules. All delicious. But I keep coming back for the brioche.
Did not have any wheat or grain breads only white. Said they sell out quick. My suggestion was to make more if all that is left at lunchtime is white
Vegan, healthy everything, delicious. I go there regularly.
Vegan bakery with excellent breads and sandwiches. Outdoor seating in front as well as in back of the bakery.
I had the veggie Rueben and sat in the courtyard, soaking in the mild autumn sun and wonderful latte. Everything a vegetarian could want in a cafe/bakery 😊 …
To die for!!! Everything was incredible
Best vegan bakery I’ve been to, and I seek them out voraciously
An easy choice when looking for good coffee and a quick bite. Best bakery in the city.
I stopped by just to try something small...and holy nola...A Plain Croissant was so crispy and soft to my tongue at the same time. Best $3 spent in a long time!
My favorite place! Great food and the workers are always so nice! :)
Conventional and vegan bakery and cafe with amazing brownies, sandwiches, soups, and fresh breads. The Mushroom Patè sandwich is great!
One of the best spots for vegan in the entire city of New Orleans!
the most DELICIOUS food ever! so special and interesting they deserve a 5 STAR rating on their food! yummyyyyyyyy :)
All vegan so not really my kind of place.
REAL bread. 'Nuff said.
A new favorite! Charming atmosphere and staff, tasty food, and has an EV charger as well - will definitely be back!
Bought a king cake not knowing it was plant based. So GOOD. Wow
Delicious, generously portioned vegan foods! Definitely recommend their TLTA.
Amazing vegan selection. Organic, fair trade coffees. Best sandwiches and pastries. Organic flours. Cheap!!!
The bread, pastries, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches came out absolutely fantastic. I already miss the place.
Best bread I have ever had. I love it😍 …
I am using curbside service for now. Very efficient. Everything I get there is great tasting and wholesome. Highly recommend it!
Best bread in Louisiana as they say. Amazing loaves. Vegan, no animal products
Amazing vegan bakery items both sweet and savory.
Amazing vegan restaurant with all natural and hand made products. Great location and service
So delicious!! Love coming here!
Amazing. Great for breakfast especially. Very friendly staff!
Very tasty all vegan cafe with baked goods, breakfast, and sandwiches.
Biscuits are a bit dry and get crowded easily. Overall great service and great food. Prices are normal.
Breads on Oak is no joke! The absolute best bakery I have ever visited
Good selection of breakfast items, nice little patio, and an even better selection of great, hardy breads. Highly recommend.
Amazing baked goods and great sandwiches. Line was long but went quickly. Highly recommend.
We liked the food. Quiche and the crawfish brioche was good.. The staff was very friendly and inviting.
This place is phenomenal, stopped in during a road trip and am now writing this review months later because I just found myself raving about it to a friend. Just about ordered one of everything on the way out.
Best chai in New Orleans!
Yummy food. The cats were nice also.
So happy there's a vegan bakery!! Love this place. Great spot for ANYONE.
I’m not a vegan, but my trips to New Orleans are never complete without at least one visit to Breads on Oak. Fantastic bread, delicious baked goods, and tasty & creative sandwich options are made even better by an always friendly and helpful staff. Great food and a great vibe!
... if only I could transport this place up to Boston!!
