Reviews of Bayona
April Bennington
The Friday before Halloween was the first visit to Bayona for the three of us. I noticed what a lovely space it is as I entered. Various rooms and a patio area all invitingly decorated. My friend and I were quickly seated (I had made a reservation) and given a wine menu to look over. Shortly after that our third joined us and we ordered wine. Mine was a glass of Sangiovese.
Two of us were very interested in Bayona’s highly rated Smoked Duck PB&J, so we shared it as an appetizer. Was it good? Sho’nuff!
One of the others ordered the soup of the day, which I believe was Butternut Squash. We all tasted it and agreed it was fantastic. One friend ordered the salmon while I had the fish du jour. It was absolutely delicious, but in the excitement of being in such a lovely restaurant, I forgot to write down what it was.
We had two servers keeping watch, but not hovering at our table, that were professional, knowledgeable and polite.
I look forward to my next visit to Bayona and wish my first had been much sooner.

We came for our honeymoon and my birthday. Griffin, Amanda, and the rest of the staff were friendly, and even let us change tables when the sun was too much for us. They willingly answered any questions we had about the menu. Our food came out wonderfully paced, and, truly, all of it was good. Absolutely worth every penny. We will recommend this restaurant to all of our friends, and can't wait to return next time we're in town.

This was a lovely place for a great dinner! We were thrilled with our appetizers, particularly the goat cheese crouton. We all fought over the duck breast entree after trying it! It was the best dish at the table, but the lamb was a close contender. We also have to compliment the waitstaff. They were so knowledgeable about the menu details and offered great suggestions to meet our tastes. We will most definitely be back!

By far on the best restaurants I visited in New Orleans. Came here back in 2009 when my young self knew nothing about food and didn’t have much of an appreciation for good eats. But even with my limited knowledge of food back then, I knew what I had just ingested was really yummy. Fast forward 13 years later, the hubby and I return for dinner and this restaurant has not changed, except for its menu obviously.
The food here is sooo good, portions sizable and service goes above and beyond. I can’t remember our waitress’ name, but she was very friendly and very attentive, despite how busy it was.
This place is good for a date night, family night, girls night….you name it, it’s appropriate for ANY night. I would definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area!

I’m from Louisiana and this restaurant never disappoints….. It’s so good that I could let the waiter order for me because everything on the menu is fabulous. My lunch was the best I’ve had in NOLA. The outdoor courtyard is marvelous. If you haven’t been to Bayona what are you waiting for?

Appreciated how accommodating this restaurant was to provide vegan options for my partner and I. We had a couple of starters in addition to our entrees. The food was pretty good, overall. Some of the dishes were overly salty or had a texture issue (such as the breaded eggplant medalions we had). My official rating for the food is 3.5/5. The service, however? 5 stars! Splitting the difference and giving this place 4 stars.

After eating at many places in NOLA, this is the only one that is a “must visit”. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, but it was fairly open throughout the duration of my visit. The meals here are delicious! The salmon was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and there was an incredible vegetarian eggplant dish that was off-menu. The dessert was so amazing too! They have a sweet potato cheesecake that reminds me very much of Thanksgiving. I am beyond pleased, and the waitress was so kind and attentive. I truly could not be more impressed!

By far the best meal we had in New Orleans, and that says a lot. The entire experience was beyond amazing. The wait staff instantly makes you feel like family. The food was like no other. The extra touches like the champagne for our anniversary we weren't expecting, it's just the above and beyond you don't see anymore. I cannot wait to return.

We dined here for Valentine's Day, and they had 3 course meal with wine pairing. Their were 2 options to choose each courses and we had one of each and shared. Everything was delicious and service was in point. I can't wait to come back!!!

The food was amazing! The chef has received many accolades that have been posted around the restaurant. It is an upscale place and higher priced, but worth going to try a few dishes. They have a very extensive wine collection and you can get it by the glass or by the bottle. Indoor and outdoor dining is available.

Visiting New Orleans for my birthday, figured I need to find a fine dining spot to celebrate. I did a search and came up wIth Bayona. The duck dish on the menu caught my eye and was like it is a go. I love duck. Ambiance and food was great. They were two servers, I guess a head waiter then another waiter. Head waiter Griffin told us about the nights special, Emily the other waiter took care of everything else. I was very pleased, until I noticed that Griffiin, the head waiter asked every other table, but ours if they wanted bread after they placed their order. We were the only minority couple and not one time did he offer us any. I don’t usually play the race card, but this was very blatant and could not have been an oversight because a couple came in after us and was offered right after they placed their order. I felt a type of a way about that. Definitely killed the vibe after that observation.

Unique place in New Orleans. It felt like we were transported to a different place.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Sarah and Bill were so professional and made the experience very enjoyable. Highly recommend :)

Best restaurant in the USA! I've been around, and I'm a foodie. I've been a regular since 1996, and I'm from Virginia! Ms Spicer is famous and deserves it. It's hard to remain excellent for so long, but she has done it. Love, love, love this place! Fabulous servers, hostesses, everyone. I don't know how she does it.

I just have to sing the high praises of Bayona. Wow! I've lived here my whole life and only the $$$$ restaurants are left, so for my birthday we decided to scratch off Bayona. It was an incredible and delectable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was calm and everyone was so pleasant at the door.
I am in love with my server Sarah. She was an incredible angel the entire night, and it was so good to speak with her — she's clearly passionate about her career and she's so incredibly talented at what she does!
My partner and I shared an incredible meal! The brioche buns were a bit dry and crumbly, but they were so redeemed by the cane syrup butter. The mushroom crouton was arguably better than the caviar, but the caviar held such a nostalgic southern flavor you get when you eat like a real authentic creole New Orleans dish.
I ate UP that salmon!! Wow she was such a simple dish impeccably done, and I will be singing the high praises of that flavor symphony delivered in this dish because wow I have never been so proud of myself for ordering a main course in my life.
The mussel fideo also incredible will great southern flavor flair, but that was my partner's dish so I didn't get to savor as much as I did my salmon. Last photo holds my cake that Bayona so graciously cut and styled for us, but the star in that photo is that Mary Taylor rosé. She was so light and refreshing, a few more glases and I would've ask for a bottle to take home.
Thank you a million times over, and all my eternal best to Sarah 💕✨

Amazing food and dining experience. Beautiful outdoor seating. Perfect for a any occasion. Garlic soup will blow your mind.
Joseph Stierwalt
Ate their for Mothers Day brunch today. Allison and Zach were attentive and incredible servers. And the food!! Lawd! For the money, the fine dining experience is almost unparalleled in NOLA! Cannot recommend highly enough! Try the smoked duck PB&J!
Mark McHugh
Authentic and locals from New Orleans. This food was outstanding. The shrimp were some of the best I've had, and I know shrimp. Tender, well spiced, and the dish was delicious.
Kevin Larsen
This was a new place to me, and it was one of the few places in the French Quarter open for dinner on a Tuesday evening. So many wonderful dishes, I'll have to come back to tour the menu. Our group had the Mississippi Rabbit and the seafood catch of the day, which was prepared with Thai curry.
For dessert we tried and shared the pastry with ricotta. Light and delicious!
A very nice, unhurried evening in a place with great atmosphere and phenomenal food.
Elissa Badique
Came to try the food on the recommendation of a friend and was pleased to see lovely outdoor seating options on an evening with nice weather. I wanted to take precautions for COVID safety & eat outdoors. What’s better is it wasn’t crowded at all this early in the evening. I thought I lucked out.
They had adorable outside seating & tables (one of the ONLY restaurants around to have any) that evening during the first (hot & humid) week of November. The staff was polite enough, but they didn’t allow patrons to actually eat outdoors or use these tables! Even when I expressed I was doing it as a COVID precaution. They instead pressed me to eat indoors. Why even set up outdoor seating during a pandemic if you aren’t prepared to have it as a COVID-safer option for patrons?
I can’t understand how an upscale place like this does not hire staff for at least the outdoor sections. If they close off outdoor seating for the season (though it was quite warm out, so I dunno if they have “seasons” established for outdoor dining) they should at least say so on their website/yelp/google site. Please don’t set up functional tables & outdoor seating if they’re merely decoration.

Bayona is one of my new favorites! Everything was excellent from the service, the food and the ambiance. We sat in the courtyard, which was just a great experience. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and they made sure it was special. The veal sweetbreads appetizer was delicious and the salmon entree I got was amazing. We all tasted each other’s food and everything was great. Laid back atmosphere with lots to appreciate. We will definitely be coming back often.
Mark Priest
We were in-town for Thanksgiving and had family from Baton Rouge meet us. The menu had me confused because I wanted everything. I was torn between the Duck and Mississippi rabbit. The server was knowleable and recommened several items but sold me on the rabbit. The rabbit died and I was in heaven. I'd recommend rabbit and Bayone to anyone visiting NOLA. The dessert was also a big hit. Everyone wanted mine, so I did share.
Lara Moccia
We had a wonderful evening. The hostess was very nice, and offered us drinks because they were running a bit late. The food was amazing, and they had a creative menu.
Bryant Thomas
What else can you say about Susan Spicer’s crown jewel restaurant? The perfect place to settle into the New Orleans vibe with a meal on the patio. A well appointed bar program perfectly compliments the food. Sweetbreads, garlic soup, smoked duck pb&j were the highlights of our meal. 10 out of 10 would go back and would recommend - as if it needs any more of those.
JEFFREY LEDFORD
Stunning! This quaint side street bistro is unassuming but a true hidden jewel in the French Quarter. We ate ALL the food and reminisced about it for our entire trip! Steven and his assistant were magnificent and made us feel like the only patrons in the place. The menu is uncluttered and the chef created phenomenal plates. We will be back.
John Owens
Great restaurant. Lovely walled garden. Food was excellent. Service was really good. Canadiian waiter very attentive.
Dawn Marie B.
What an amazing restaurant! Everything was on point and done perfectly. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Will be back again and again!
Jeffrey Wang
Been coming to Bayona for over 25 years and I still live for the cream of garlic soup and Susan’s awesome recipes. Location and ambience is terrific and always have the best time when I come.
Having come so long and that the place has not changed at all, it’s like coming home and the food always leave me raving.
Please, don’t ever change.

We stumbled across this amazing restaurant when the place we had planned on dining was closed. We didn’t have reservations but they were amazing and found room for us.
The pumpkin ravioli was delicious. Light and slightly sweet and my husband raved about the lasagne all evening. The house salads were fresh and crisp and the wine selection was more than adequate. I can’t wait for my next trip to NOLA to enjoy another dinner here.
Tammy Brown
I live in the FQ and this place has always been on my list to try. Finally did last night and all I can say is this is some of the best food I’ve had. Crouton appetizer is a must try. My friend had Salmon I had the steak. Both were wonderful. The service was great. Steven our waiter I think was his name was wonderful. Highly recommend this place. I usually don’t do reviews but I just had to on this place.
Niveda Chellappan
This was hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in New Orleans! The chef did an incredible job with the flavors and presentation. They accommodated my vegetarian diet and the chef made me a personalized entree based off of my likes and dislikes!! I couldn’t have asked for a better dinner and dining experience. And the staff was so kind and accommodating! I highly recommend Bayona!!

Beautiful courtyard! Bayona was on my "must eat" list for my 1st trip to NOLA. Seemed a bit under-staffed, who isn't these days? The food was fabulous. I would definitely go again! Definitely earned the spot on the must-eat list. Try the sweetbreads! And the garlic soup!! Thank you, Steve and Carly. I appreciate your patience with my request to "graze" the menu, in order to taste as much as possible.
Derrick Wise
We've been here several times, it's one of our favorite dining spots in New Orleans. This time we took a large party and it was great. Everyone at the table had a great time and a wonderful meal.
Armando Pazos
Amazing meal in the lovely relaxed garden courtyard setting - superb garlic soup, duck pate, smoked duck pb&j sandwich, fantastic sweetbreads!! Dessert was lovely sweet potato cheescake. Great craft cocktails and wine list. Our server Jackie was superb and polished. Our best meal of entire trip to New Orleans - hands down!!!
Chuong
The food is excellent! I got salmon for my main entrée and it was the best piece of salmon I've ever had, I didn't want it to end. overall everything is excellent! will return the next time I'm back in New Orleans.
Mrs Letsgo (Mrsletsgo)
We had one of the best meals at Bayona's. Every single detail, from the servers to the appreciation of the dishes and selection of the wines. We will be back
Celeste Roggy
Loved our server Sarah! Her food recommendations were phenomenal! My sweet potato soup was so spicy! I loved it! Thank you for an amazing time!

Our 1st night in NOLA, we stumbled upon Bayona while exploring the French Quarter and though we didn't have a reservation, they were able to accommodate us and we were seated quickly. (It was early, around 5pm on a Thurs) Everyone from the hostess to the wait staff were very friendly and informative. I had the scallops app and lamb entree, both were excellent. My husband had the sweetbreads and rabbit - which I tried - and they were also great. We were out in plenty of time to wander around before taking in a ghost tour. Husband and I both agree that this was our best meal in NOLA.
Caroline Parrone
I really enjoyed my lunch at Bayona. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, great for a little business get together. Everything we had was delicious - great cocktails, the mussels were so tasty, the crab dish was incredible and the lamb meatballs - so good!! The desserts were amazing too. We stayed a VERY long time and never felt rushed or like we were holding up the staff. (thanks for that!) Highly recommended.
John Bemis
Great weekend lunch here. They have a three course, small plates menu. The two biggest highlights were, the carrot soup and the duck pastry. Friendly service. An elegant setting in a beautiful, historic building which is surprisingly quiet for being just one block off bourbon.
George Forgan-Smith
Amazing food in the heart of the French Quarter.
I was very pleased with our visit. Service was good and not intrusive.
We opted to sit in the courtyard. It was very pretty however there is a refrigerator that was very loud.
The menu has a varied selection and I’m sure most everyone will have a choice.
Starters were generous. Mains equally so.
I had a rabbit theme with pâté starter and stuffed rabbit for main. Both were amazing. I was surprised how tangy the rabbit pâté was.
My partner had the shrimp and salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and very sweet. I can’t comment on the shrimp due to allergy.
This is an excellent experience and very different from many of the places in the area that feel tourist trap like.
I feel I had great value and would recommend for all.

One word... phenomenal! The atmosphere of this place is lovely it's very relaxed and calm. We sat outside in the back the weather was perfect. The service was a little slow but it gave us time to digest than relax and have good conversations with each other so I appreciated it. We started with the cream garlic soup which was so good and I just wish they gave me more. I ordered smoked duck PB&J sandwich my mouth is watering as I'm remembering the experience. My girlfriend's ordered the barbecue shrimp with grits and the lamb. Everything was just so good I would like to go back and see what else to try on the menu. It's very unassuming and so it's surprising how delicious and complex the flavors are, you can tell a lot of thought and love went into the food. Wait staff was very friendly definitely a place to go back to when I come back to NOLA.
Karen Vlahos
A true dining experience. Our party of six with one handicapped was provided excellent service. Every bite was perfect. A true exquisite dining experience. I'm so happy to enjoy Bayona with my loved ones

A definite worthy choice among the maze of great restaurants New Orleans offers for navigation. Tried the garlic soup which was recommended and did not disappoint. Unexpectedly good for such a strong base tangible such as garlic. Everything was excellent. What stood out? If I went back and had to pick just one entrée and finish dish it would be the pan roasted Pompano and the smoked duck puffed pastry although I believe the menu items change so these choices may not be available on a next visit. Good Cocktails also..! Cheers..!!
Wendie Waters
Our servers were FANTASTIC! Just be aware that it is more of a European service style, so relax and enjoy your meal with great wine/cocktails, excellent cuisine and family or friends.
Catherine Borrero
I pass by street and notice someone eating...decide to check menu box( could use a light). Decide to enter although I was very under dress from walking Bourbon street and party in Mardi Grass. This is a nice and calm atmosphere. Classic even romantic. The front house was very helpful got me the dessert menu and said not to worry about dress codes. I order as appetizer the scallops. They were perfectly cook and the vegetables and sauce pairing zesty but not hot.
I follow with a quail arugula salad. the quail had a delicious smokiness with a perfect crunchy skin and juicy meat the vinaigrette dressing that blend the fruit and pecans making this a dish to remember and come back for more. The salmon in the wine butter sauce with a pickle and wine sauerkraut was the perfect entre. The butter sauce on the perfect cook crust of the salmon was accompany with fresh greens beans and potatoes making a light but well and full meal. To finish I couldn't leave dessert been Mardi Gra I went for the King cake. King cake is more of a bread dough texture that is pair with a beautiful creme with ice cream eam fresh strawberries and crumbs that give the perfect balance. Let's not forget the amaizing Carnival drink that I used to accompany this magical meal sweet but not to sweet eith a perfect hint of mint garnish and a delicious cherry at bottom. so Bon Appetit!!!. This isn't a cheap restaurant but for the confection, food profile and complexity is well under price and a hidden gem one street over from Bourbon street.
James Huycke
Near Bourbon St. and the Hall, but refreshingly quiet. Top notch food and service. If you are tired of bright lights and clamor and are longing for a really good experience this is the place.
Shanda Meridy
Scallops were decent, lovely presentation. Stuffed quail was really good. The panna cotta was the best dish of all. The atmosphere and ambience were quaint and peaceful. There was a bit of hostility with the host upon my arrival due to me not having a reservation but the rest of the staff were friendly.
Mirela Maccia
We are in love with the food here. Everything and everyone is amazing. We had seard tuna and banana tart. Susan Spice, the chef came to our table ❤
James Reuss
A short walk off the street brings you to Bayona, with seriously good NOLA cuisine and friendly, attentive staff. Dine indoors or out. Had no wait on a weeknight.
Micah Beverley
Thank you to the entire staff and kitchen at @bayonanola This was one of our favorite meals - ever. We loved it so much we are going back to eat lunch on the patio on Saturday before we fly out. Quiet atmosphere - wonderful food- 5 star customer service. Laurie the Maitre D made it happen for us. Tip- try the cucumber julip to start of your night. It’s delightful!
Wayne Lin
Absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the visit if you're here in NOLA. I've been for dinner and lunch during the same week. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. For appetizers the quail salad is delish. For entree can't go wrong with salmon or duck breast served with spaetzle. For dessert the pistachio panna cotta. For lunch the duck PBJ was fantastic tho the pepper jelly made it a touch on the sweet side. Overall would definitely go back.
Joakim Lord
Beautiful restaurant in a 200 year old cottage with a lovely patio. The service was excellent, all the staff were welcoming and attentive. I enjoyed the Stormy Monday cocktail, Bayona salad, and Pacific salmon, finishing it all off with the chocolate pecan tart. Everything was absolutely delicious to the point I can't imagine having a bad meal here. The patio was surprisingly (and refreshingly) quiet considering Bourbon Street is just one street over. Highly recommend Bayona.
Tomas D. Spillane
Order the stormy morning drink! The menu does change daily so when we were there we ordered the crispy fried chicken wings, BBQ shrimp and eggplant caviar. We left the played cleaner than a dishwasher.
Leah K
Bayona is a classic, old-style, creole restaurant in the heart of the quarter. This place has so much history it practically transports you back in time. Not to mention the high quality food and service!! Absolutely recommend Bayona, especially the green curry fish or the lamb. Fantastic
Michael Davis
Hit or miss with the dishes, and lack luster service.
The Diver Scallops are absolutely incredible, an amazing and well balanced dish.
I got the Fennel Crusted Lamb, which was average, there was an overwhelming taste of burnt soy sauce. My date got The Pacific Salmon and it was an outstanding. Very creative and refreshing. The dessert was well presented but extremely dry.
We were quick to order but the dishes took an extremely long time to come out. By the end of the night my patience was spent and I was ready to leave immediately.
Diane
Great dining experience. I wanted to treat myself for the last night of my trip and this restaurant did not disappoint. I’m vegetarian so I went with the goat cheese appetizer which was amazing! I had the tomato and basil soup and the special salad for the evening and was plenty full.
Brendan Horton
We had a lovely experience at Bayona, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are incredibly welcoming, knowledgable, and kind. The food was the highlight of our vacation, made even better by the wine recommendation of our wonderful server Sarah, who made sure our stay felt special! A must visit if you are going out for a special occasion!
Mercedes W
Staff was welcoming and informative. Food was Amazing! Pricing is on the higher end. Drinks were really good. Creative yet simple. I recommend the old fashion bourbon
Kay Burgess
We are visiting from New York, and wanted a break from the hustle and bustle of bourbon street, and so we tried Bayona! Service was spectacular, food and wine was amazing. Our server Griffin was fabulous, he explained the menu so well and accommodated our quirky needs.A must visit! I had the fish of the day with bok choy coconut curry and my partner had the filet mignon with a delicious sauce on it.
Ben Tellier
When here for a celebratory dinner and it was worth every penny! The staff were attentive, the food was both delicate in flavor and satisfying (very accomodating to dietary restrictions as my girlfriendcant have gluten/dairy/red meat and they STILL had options for her), AND they had affogatos 😋
tiff
I’m a little torn about this place.
Even though my boyfriend didn’t want me to pay or get the Travelzoo I did anyway.
I thought it was a really good deal.
The place is really cozy/romantic/classic french quarter fancy restaurant.
Our server was pretty good, but a little too much after we had a few drinks if that makes any sense.
We both ordered the cesar salad which was done not like the cesar I usually get everywhere else. The dressing tasted a little different.
I really wanted to try te Garlic soup, our server was nice enough to bring out a tiny amount so I could try it. Totally regret not getting it lol.
We also both ordered the salmon which was kind of a mistake but not....
The salmon was good, but it was on a bed of choucroute.
It was tooo much for the fish. I should of read what it came with. It ruins the entire dish. I ate everything but that.
The veal sweetbreads was delicious. One of the best I tried on this trip. We had the sherry-mustard butter. It was bomb.
The drinks were weak though I will say that.
I really wanted to try the quail salad because I read it was the best there. Maybe next time.
Overall experience was pretty good. Expect the weird chourcrotue lol
Courtney La
Bayona was lovely. I would have preferred the same 5⭐️ treatment that the table across from me received, (a server going so far as standing in the street to save a parking spot) as I instead had the pleasure of listening to a private (and not quite appropriate) conversation between the Hostesses.
Joseph Morreale
Very disappointing place. The food was not that good and there is a really strange mural of Tuscany on the walls. We went there because it was on a list for romantic places. There was nothing romantic about this place. The services was not good and nobody seems to know about there product. For that kind of money I would not expect that. It was a tacky place that is not at all with the money.
s pags
Went here for their lunch special, and was thoroughly impressed. My in-laws are fans of Susan Spicer, and really wanted us to experience it. Sadly, it was too cool to enjoy the courtyard.
I tried all the dishes served at the table, and they all were great: BBQ shrimp, steak, duck ‘PB&J’, and what I ordered, the sheepshead (pictured; not just a card game played in WI). Come at lunch to dine finely for less.
Mark Shaw
Outstanding service, faire and ambience. Goat cheese appetizer was to die for, plus fantastic bloody Mary. Thank you Rafael and staff for making this a special night.
Michael Billington
The food was fantastic, but it's an older crowd and a bit stuffy inside. Recommend this spot for a lunch, that will give you a good base to start your day. Highly recommend the cocktails. The martini was top notch.
Marcia Wellen
Great choice for vegetarians. Had a delicious eggplant lunch, a satisfying cucumber soup and a scrumptious sweet potato cheesecake for $32
Amy Nicole Stewart
It has been too long since i have visited, though i was prompted by Google to review. I leave the five stars knowing and trusting that it will be nothing less when I return because it is one of the best restaurants in the city.
Sean Sperry
Great service and great food as usual. Restaurant was very comfortable. The sweetbreads are excellent as both appetizers and entree.
Matey Checko
I had a mix experience. The food was okay. The best thing I had was the tamale that accompanied the duck dish. Our waitresses were great. Oh appetizers were good too.
Pamela Chen
Don't miss the garlic soup! And the restaurant week special three course menu was an unexpected treat. Save room for the pavlova with lemon curd and blueberries...
Vincent Basquiat
All time classic New Orleans Icon.
A must of your in town.Keith Urban and Don Amece were dinner the same night I was.
James Flodine
Worst steak I have ever been presented. 10 oz NY strip was 8 oz fat and gristle. Could not cut it with the dainty steak knife provided. Finally sawed it into 4 pieces which I chewed thoroughly before spitting them back on the plate.
Service was good and ambiance delightful. Sad to spend $1000 for a meal i had to suffer through to enjoy a good time with wonderful friends. Fortunately they seemed to enjoy their meals which were not steak.
Lesson here DO NOT ORDER STEAK IN NEW ORLEANS. ORDER FISH SOMETHING. THEY KNOW HOW TO PREPARE THAT. GO BACK TO TEXAS IF YOU WANT TO EAT BEEF.
Jen Ganson
I had a truly great experience here. The service was fantastic - very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. I let my server lead the way on menu selections and wine pairings and was very happy. I highly recommend.
Ellie Smith
Not only was the food amazing, the staff makes the experience next level.
The sweet potato bread, goat cheese crouton, lamb, rabbit, and salmon were outstanding and reflected the cultural cuisine well.
The staff made it feel like we stepped into a family kitchen, warm, welcoming, and like they were our best friends for years.
This is a staple in the French quarter that everyone must try!
Kamila Koralasbayev
Super fancy! Also, service was wonderful. And great food obviously.
E M 88
Food, ambience and service was all great. Grilled shrimp starter and porkchop were delicious.
Geekette Bits Great Bits, Tasty Bytes
Classic New Orleans fine dining experience. They autograph cookbooks sometimes in advance so plan ahead.
Lyn Morein
Awesome experience! Amazing flavors bursting out of a 220 year old Creole cottage.
Jay Slater
Outstanding higher end dining. Very attentive service and a menu with good choices without being too big. Nice ambiance with lots of space between tables. This is a fine dining restaurant with a local flavor and very well executed dishes.
Todd Fellerman
Classic delicious food in a traditional and cozy setting. We had a large group here for dinner and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Wait staff was fun and attentive too.
Charlene Smith
Lunch was delightful. Duck liver mousse was so smooth and tasty. Friend that doesn't like liver really enjoyed it. The homemade pickles included, orange zest, cherries and radishes. Eggplant caviar is a must if you love that purple veggie. The presentation of the dishes is amazing. A real treat for you eyes!!! A friend is gluten and dairy free and the chef was able to modify some dishes for her. She couldn't eat the crawfish on her salad, so we had lightly breaded crawfish appetizers and they were cooked to perfection. The creamy garlic soup was yummy, especially if you like roasted garlic. They are famous for this soup. The menu is dynamic. Shrimp Fideos had mussels too and was like a cioppino without the broth...which is actually less messy to eat if you have on dry clean only. hehe. The spinach made it better than a cioppino. The drum fish was cooked to perfection! Save room for dessert or get it first! The triple chocolate cake was just the perfect treat. Also enjoyed the strawberry mousse lady finger cake. We enjoyed the chocolate cake so much for an appetizer, that 2 of us ordered it again after the meal. Our plates were clean after this day for lunch!!! Oh and the entire staff is so friendly and super nice and funny!!! A wonderful experience all round...
Audrey Farnsworth
All was good. It is a very expensive place so be prepared with your wallet!
Kj Sposato
Excluding food and drinks!! Service was impeccable - I have never heard such a refined spiel on the menu. Make sure you try the lamb! Highly recommend!
Beverly Bunch
Delish and the waitstaff were exceptional.
Molly MacPherson
This is my favorite restaurant in the city. Lovely Creole cottage setting with a charming courtyard. Absolutely delicious menu with a reasonable diversity of options. Refined, excellent service. I've never had a less-than-wonderful experience in my many visits. This time, I had the quail salad and lamb loin and they were perfection. Thank you, Susan Spicer & team!
Jason Parks
An upscale place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Although it took awhile to get our meal food is well made and very tasty.
Tiaga Wright-Phillips
Everything was absolutely amazing from beginning to end.
Lissa S
Absolutely delicious. Was recommended to us by several people. Nice little restaurant right in the heat of downtown but a few streets aways from the buzz of Bourbon St. Super friendly servers. Best scallops I'll probably ever eat in my life.
Eleanor Onstott
Birthday lunch.. So awesome
Regina and her staff are simply top notch in hospitality. Not to mention fabulous food. Ask for Allison.. the best server!
Natalie Flott
Absolutely fantastic. We happened on a reservation, so we couldn't even dress "fancy". I had rabbit, my husband wagu, and scallops for a starter. I am creole through and through, this food is absolutely fantastic. Fresh, fulfilling, and amazing staff- thank you Griffith and Sara.
Amber Barber-Taylor
Highly recommend. The later at night it gets, the louder it gets however. Food & service were great. Try the pumpkin carrot cake..yum!
Tomas Yafar
Great place! Loved the duck, great flavors and presentation. Ambiance is great and the patio is a stunning place to enjoy a delicious meal. Waiters are speedy and polite as well!
Audrey V
Had multiple off-menu vegan options. We thought the vegan cashew-creme crostini appetizer was enjoyable as their on-menu Goat Cheese crostini (we did a taste test). Main vegan course was good as well.
Overall, great ambiance.
W Snowden
Went for my birthday. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch!
Cindy Sharpe
We had the most spectacular dinner for our 25th anniversary. Dined in the beautiful outdoor courtyard. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared. Everything was fabulous. Really appreciated Chef Susan coming to our table to speak to us. This us a MUST DO dining experience.
Homa Watts
Amazing food!!! We loved our visit to Bayona. I had oysters, grilled shrimp, and pecan tart for dessert. All were amazing. This restaurant should get a Michelin Star. The wait staff were knowledgeable and very professional. Try it you will love it.
deanette lopez
The lamb was amazing, so delicious!!! Great staff and nice atmosphere! Can't wait to return!!❤
James Messer
Fantastic! This is a New Orleans must. The snapper was delicious. Ask for their recommendation for wine that pairs with whatever you ordered. You won’t be disappointed.
Alyssa Carter
A lovely garden setting and attentive service was the start of a memorable meal at Bayona. From start, sweetbreads and garlic soup, to entrees, duck breast and lamb loin, our meal was delicious. The vegetables accompanying my duck were outstanding. My dessert of olive oil cake with strawberries and pistachio ice cream was a sweet ending to a near perfect meal.
Patrick McManus
We celebrated our anniversary at Bayona and had a wonderful time. The food is incredible and the outdoor patio is beautiful at night. A great place if you are in town and want a memorable meal.
fran goodman
This is for a special occasion. Intimate atmosphere with excellent food.
They will plate food for you off the menu if you are vegetarian.
I had trout which was very good, prepared with a Japanese flair.
I chose peanut butter tart for dessert & it was really tasty.
There is a large wine, beer & cocktail menu. Be prepared for an average tab of $55.
Roxy Beaudet
If I could give 10 stars I would. Spectacular fine dining experience. Best duck I've ever had and the sweetbreads were fantastic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and they brought some beautifully decorated ice cream out for my mom as well. She talked about it all night. Great experience!!

A restaurant with an excellent wine list, clearly a great sommelier abides here, and a changing menu that keeps Chef's Susan Spicer's flagship eatery going strong.
You can spend an afternoon schmoozing here with friends, relatives or business associates.
One of my best meals was a lunch I had with my spouse and his brother. We started off at 11 am and kept drinking and eating until it was 4:30 in the afternoon and lunch had been closed out! Lunch ends at 3.
They told us to take our time. We had the entire place to ourselves, tipped mightily and were quite tipsy as we'd gone through at least three bottles of wine by the time we left.
It was an event!
It's a place where strangers will share their food with you! Well, that's off limits for NOW, but the day shall return. Filled with camaraderie and warmth. Excellent servers and staff.
Adrian Chernyk
Pretty underwhelmed with Bayona I have to say. I ate here last weekend. They lost my reservation (although they were able to still seat my party pretty quickly). Front of house staff were not that polished. Was not offered any drinks while we waited for our table. They also did not have any dedicated vegetarian entrees on their menu. They claimed they could make any of the entrees vegetarian but all they did was take the meat off the plate to make it vegetarian without substituting it with anything else. I felt bad for the two vegetarians in our party for basically having a tiny salad as a main. For a restaurant at this level- not having dedicated vegetarian dishes/ not being able to have the chef put a creative one together is horrible practice. Also the service is on the slower side which you start to notice. With so many good options in New Orleans- Bayona is a miss.
Mary Ellis
Lovely intimate restaurant in the Quarters. The food and service we're great.
Nate Mansfield
A great dinner with Bubbles! He took great care of us and we had a blast
Adrian Baudy (Adrian Baudy IV)
This food is amazing! Some of the best in the city in my opinion... The service...Not so much. The wait times are not on par to other restaurants in the area (and this was a prepandemic visit). Food was soo good it was worth the wait.
Zach Elliott
Bayona is a very special places stepped in New Orleans history. It's an oasis and a refuge from the frenetic energy of the French Quarter. The venue is beautiful and the staff know the definition of hospitality. The wine list had an amazing French connection. I would highly recommend this place to visitors and locals alike.
jess libert (jessundressed)
Stopping in for a romantic little lunch date was the highlight of our trip to New Orleans. The food was incredible and multifaceted. The chef went above and beyond to personalize a dish for me (and even went to the nearby store to buy eggplant!)
I would fly back to New Orleans just to go here! Charming, detail-oriented staff make this an experience to remember. I’m picky—they’re perfect.
Ada Caceres
Fabulous! We went last night for their Coolinary Dinner and it was amazing. Had the freshest Triple Tail fish, and the Asian infused taste on the dishes we ordered was done to perfection. The lemon curd with blueberries was sinfully unique. Will definitely go back.
Jonathan & Karen Klyne
An Amazing Valentine's Day experience. The food and servers were incredible! The goat cheese crouton was the best bite!
Ailin Jin
We discovered this place while strolling in the French Quarter on our first trip to NOLA. They had a lunch special for $30 per person on certain weekdays for the month of February so we thought we'd give it a shot. It was easy to make a reservation online, even for Valentine's day. We sat in the lovely courtyard under the banana tree. The lunch special includes an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert, and champagne. Sounds like a pretty good deal right? Even better, to our surprise, they refilled our champagne throughout the meal. We added a starter (veal sweetbreads) on top of our specials. We spent two hours enjoying the food, the wine, and the good weather, and we didn't feel rushed for a single second. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'm quite happy that we stumbled upon this place as I would have never picked this spot if I were doing searches on Google maps and I'd be filtering out the $$$ places.
John Tooraen
I'm sad to say we were a little disappointed in the food on this visit. The service was excellent as usual. We had dinner with a couple of friends and enjoying it; however, we didn't feel like it was up to the usual quality that this restaurant delivers.
The new York strip should be replaced with a ribeye or it should be prepared differently. It was rubbery! Perhaps it was just an isolated incident, we might try it again.
Maria Evans
Hoping that Bayona will return to its glory days soon. Chalking up the interminable wait for every course of our meal to the after effects of COVID. Burrata salad was lackluster, almost embarrassingly so. Yellow Tail Thai dish was lovely. Blueberry crumble perfunctory. Service was friendly, although no acknowledgement or apology for the long wait for food to be brought to our table. The most memorable was a beet infused tequila: a remarkable and delicious cocktail. Heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery. Bayona, you can do it!
Deatrick Purdy
We chose them for our Anniversary. It was the perfect choice. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. My husband had the duck and swears he has not had anything better. Thanks for making this Anniversary memorable.
Frank Viera
I haven’t been back to New Orleans in a few years now but I just Googled Bayona to see if it was still around, to my happy joy it still was! I go there every time I’m in town. I always make reservations before I go to New Orleans to make sure I get a table. The service, the food and the time I’ve spent in Bayona have been the best in the Crescent city. If the last plate I had on earth was their sweetbreads I would die a happy man. Truly a wonderful experience eating and spending time there.
Clay Hackett
Duck PB&J was absolutely incredible. Rabbit liver pate, totally special. Decor in and out, awesome. Service? Attempted to emulate the team-server styles of classic restaurants like Antoine’s, Commander’s Palace, etc… but instead of doubling or tripling the quality, it really just seemed to dilute the engagement of the staff. They’d probably be better off just dedicating a single server to the table and putting 100% of their effort into it.
Shea Stewart
First of all, when we walked in the host was very friendly and seated us right away. Our server was Peyton and at first she was very friendly. Brought our wine and appetizers right away. After that, we literally waited an hour for our main course. With not one check in from Peyton. We travel all over the world and know fine dining. Unfortunately I would not rate this a high end restaurant mostly because of our service. Usually at finer restaurants the server cleans the crumbs in between courses and when there is a delay in the kitchen, the servers are attentive and apologetic. We got nothing and her attitude became snarky. Maybe she was stressed but when we come to a 5 star restaurant and drop over $600 we expect a polite server and timely delivery or at least a check in. I did see her glance a couple of times as she circled around but never once said “ hey there’s a delay in the kitchen can I bring you anything’. That would have been nice. And maybe scraping the bread crumbs off the table. I think this restaurant is over priced. Food was okay and service was bleak.
Rod Stieffel
The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back!
JoAnn Stack
As always, Batons delivered creative food in lovely setting. Garlic soup was velvety and delicious. The rabbit was prepared two ways, stuffed and crisp fried with a delectable sauce. I ended the meal with a perfectly portioned peanut butter pie and caramelized bananas that was divine. Unfortunately, the room was incredibly loud and service a bit inattentive, both of which detracted from an otherwise outstanding meal.
Gary Houle
Unlike some of the other reviews, the wait staff was very accommodating, polite and professional. We had a late reservation but popped in early. The host got us a table with no questions asked. The food was great. The only nitpick, along with another reviewer earlier, the duck could have been prepared better. The skin could have been crisper and the flesh more tender. That said, it was still a wonderful meal.
Hleumas H
I only stopped in for the garlic soup. Terrific! Also, It’s easy to make yourself. Recipe is online.
Robert Kolesnik
The eggplant caviar was so incredibly flavorful. An unusual food item that was an extremely pleasant surprise. The cream of garlic soup is not to be missed. Smooth and so delicious. A reasonable selection of wines by the glass. Beautiful, small, and separate dining rooms and a a nice outdoor patio. Attentive service. Definitely 5 stars!
Tom Donaldson
Beautiful courtyard, excellent food with very good service. It was so good that we had 2 meals in 3 days, during our gastronomic tour. This is one of the city's gems and a prime example of what makes New Orleans cuisine so great. Don't miss it!
Sonny Nites
Best restaurant in the city. How can anyone speak negatively about their dining experiences here? Chef Susan Spicer is an extraordinary chef and the wine list is phenomenal. Being in the heart of the French Quarter can be a hit or miss, but the courtyard & atmosphere here is quite pleasant. Have had all her signature dishes & would recommend them highly.
lacarriao cavalier
Sweatbread is the house specialty, Very good!
Overall the meal was good and service was great, but there were a few cocktails that weren't available (not enough booze I guess). The duck breast could have been rendered a little bit better. The apricot stuffed rabbit leg was amazing. Portion size was spot on. I highly recommend Bayona for an early evening dinner before a night walk in the French Quarter!
Nicole Martin
My husband and I felt warmly welcome here. The courtyard has a European vibe and the food is wonderfully contemporary American. Chef will not disappoint! The wait staff is knowledgeable, well informed and delightful. Memorable and worthwhile.
Jennifer Husmo
Great experience. Everything was tasty. Liked their take on wedge salad. One of the best remoulade sauces ever.
Annette Swope
Some friends from Mississippi, who visit NOLA quite often, wanted us to have a fine dining experience during our New Orleans vacation, so lunch at Bayona was their first choice. And it was, indeed, fine dining.
Everything was really lovely. The courtyard was just beautiful, and the weather three weeks from now would make it the ideal lunch spot. It was a tad breezy and cool on Thursday (3/21), so they were very quick to accommodate our request to move inside.
We ordered a variety of dishes and sort of did our own tasting sample. Everything was delicious and came out beautifully plated. We also had some amazing desserts, and my sister claims the chocolate creme brule' was the best thing she had during our three-day visit. The Panna Cotta was also very nice with a very smooth texture and an unexpected herbaceous, almost savory quality. The fresh strawberries added just the right amount of sweet to the dish.
The service was also second to none, and the entire experience was just outstanding. NOLA has a frenetic energy, and when you walk into Bayona, all that slips away, and you are just surrounded by this comforting calm that comes with wonderful food. Over-all, this was a great final dining experience for us to top off our trip.
Shelby Johnson
One of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. The food is unique, tasty, and creative. Great service. My husband even suprised me and asked the wait staff if Chef Susan Spicer would come out to our table. She did come out and was very friendly. It was very nice of her to take time out of her dinner service. Thank you so much for the great experience!
Jessi Znosko
The dessert was the best part. Hats off to the pastry chef. The main dishes were fine, but not exciting, especially for the price. You can find amazing food in this city for much less.
Michael Poloni
If you're in New Orleans and up for a great meal, you must book a table at Bayona. Their exceptional service is topped by top quality food that tastes delicious. The chefs here do an outstanding job.
Erik Nazarenko
Hands down of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. Even in a city with so many rich culinary experiences, Bayona truly manages to stand out. The food prepared by Chef Susan Spicer is fantastic and the atmosphere is very inviting. The menu changes regularly and I've been impressed with every new dish I've tried.
Maegan North
I dined at Bayona and the food was very good. However the night turned bad when I went to retrieve my coat and it was stolen. Be very careful with your belongings in that establishment. It was clear that someone had taken my coat and left their coat which was a different size and color, days later still no coat or follow-up from the restaurant. It was a huge disappointment especially since the manager showed no empathy or gesture of caring.
Nick Lampros
An amazing unpretentious dining experience. The dining rooms are relaxing, the staff attentive but not intrusive, the food fabulous (we had rabbit two ways, lamb, etc.), and the drinks excellent. A wonderful dinner all round.
Shelley Mullins
This is a family favorite! Service is excellent and food is superb! It's a nice place with white table cloths. I love the entrance into this restaurant, very pretty. I can't name on thing I don't like, vutvwhat I can say is I eat so much good food I don't order dessert. From apps to entrees you cannot pick one bad thing.
Cat MOM
I had never experienced the phenomenal service that this staff had given our party. Even at other local fine dining. My 4 year old started complaining of a tummy ache soon after we were sat. The ladies at the host desk were so generous and kind! One of them actually took money out of their drawer and walked down the street to a small store to get my son children's ibuprofen!
My son ended up throwing up in the dining room. I was quite embarrassed about the whole ordeal, but the staff and all the guests around us were so sweet and understanding.
Thank you for the delicious 3 course meal and having the best staff a little boy could ask for!
Peter Riba
My wife and I had a spectacular time at Bayona! We went to the French Quarter Wedding Chapel, and I had made reservations for lunch afterwards. We were seated right away. The hostess was wonderfully nice. Michael P was our server. Very attentive and informative. We took his suggestion of the Sweetbreads app. Delicious! He also suggested the Duck PB&J , which my wife ordered, and I ordered the Mediterranean Lamb. Both were fantastic and SO flavorful! Everything made you say "WoW!" And dessert was decadent, perfect ending to the meal.
Pamela Folse
Very dissapointed . Food was uneven. Roasted garlic soup was terrible, just roux and roasted garlic, dug. Mine is much better. Appetisers were excellent. I really don't need a lot of food but ordered barbecued shrimp. 5 small shrimp. Then ordered the fried hot chocolate for dessert another disappointment. All you could taste was the cinnamon. Service was fawning when they appeared but was very slow. Expected more.
Octavio Arzola
Excellent dinner. From the ambient, the service staff, to the wine selection, and the meal itself. We all enjoy our dishes and definitely will come back
Josie Gautier
I don't normally leave reviews but I had to leave this review simply because I loved everything about dining here. I don't eat meat and I was here with my family, and when I mentioned this, the server automatically offered to make me a vegetarian entree, which made me so happy. I know this is standard for nice restaurants, but between the food, the server we had, and the atmosphere, I was happy.
Maria Viteri
Great dining experience. Service was a little slow, it took a long time between each course but it was definitely worth it.
Micah Robbins
A consistently memorable meal. Definitely one of the better restaurants in New Orleans. Our table had the King Salmon, the Yellowfin , and the skirt steak. Each plate had a distinct flavor profile and you can tell there was attention to detail. The raspberry mousse was wonderful ending. Service and ambiance were impecable. Nothing but high praise from this corner for Bayona!
Aliaksandra H.
Delicious, but I found it too expensive. The cheapest main dish was $30+
Lisa Hall
Garlic Soup. This was fantastic. The description does this dish zero justice. You need to order it. If you need convincing, ask your server about it. I've never had a dish look this. Bonus: the price point is crazy goodScallops. There is a Greek touch to this dish I've never had before with scallops. I wasn't surprised when this dish was good but it was still different from anything else I've had. It opened doors.
Willem Koenders
We celebrated our 4 year anniversary here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very cosy - even though there is no background music. I had the garlic lamb, which was perfectly juicy. Perfect!
Anne Hunley
Susan Spicer is a culinary artist and genius. She could also be a magician, picking different ingredients out of a top hat and combining them into the most creative and delicious dishes I have ever had. Her sweetbreads are the best and she has been sorely missed by the locals during The Time of Covid. Go, you won’t be disappointed!
Judy Rothberg
Set back from the main street (Bourbon Street) the restaurant is elegant and a fabulous find. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The selection of entrees was varied, without being overwhelming. The portion size was somewhat small, but the other assets of the restaurant forgive this weakness. Probably of the best reataurants eaten at this year.
Kammie Pom
Omg the meringue dessert ,, I will never forget it🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 …
Frank Taube
The good news is the food is exceptional. Worthy of their reputation. But unfortunately the staff is leaning on that knowledge. After making a RSVP weeks ago to get a table, I was required to call back to keep my table. Kept on hold 4 times totaling 10 minutes. Table wasn't ready, waiters wanted the food order immediately. Splashing water, wrong drinks, sorry but not a 26 for service.
Such a shame, but the owners need to kno
Judith Tran
Spectacular dishes and fell more in love with every bite! We did the rabbit liver pate, quail salad, tapenade, pork belly, duck breast and rabbit. Closing with the cucumber lemon cake and honey dew lilac ice cream. Have not had such an impressive line up of dishes in a long time. Will need to come back for the rest of the menu
John Switzer
Always a favorite. Try the famous duck-and-cashew-butter sandwich. Totally yummy, consistently good. Chef Susan Spicer and her staff are tops!
Doug Weidner
Tonight's visit to Bayona was simply wonderful. The weather was perfect for dinner in the courtyard and the staff made us feel welcome and tended to our every need without exception. They were there when needed and tending to others while we enjoyed the tasty treats from the kitchen. A lovely start to the evening. Thanks SS and team.
Archana Rao
The menu, I think is seasonal. Service is ok, nothing too good about it. The food is ok too, nothing I want to go back for. The best was the sweet potato brioche with maple butter which was heavenly. And the quail salad was excellent. The garlic soup was good in texture but felt like the garlic was slightly burnt. The striped bass was good, but the kimchi rice was not so impressive. Sweet breads was ok. Overall, nothing too good or nothing too bad.
Angel Manuel de las Salas
Incredible food you will not regret visiting. 😋 This is our third time at Bayona. My wife makes reservations anytime we go to NOLA. …
Maria Tsakonas
Amazing food, but waited almost 2 hours for the food to come and spent almost 3 and a half hours in the resturant. My parents asked what was taking so long after about an hour and the waitress was rude and was basically like well yeah food takes time to cook and brushed us off. Didnt bring bread out until after we were almost done with the meal.
James Cardo
Ran the prepared menu with wine pairings. Not the greatest overall meal I've had out of Chef Spicer's kitchen, but the Osso Bucco was as on par with her best dishes. And the garlic soup never misses!
Len Goldkind
Loved it great food, superb service!
Michael Scott
The food and service are fantastic. However, the wine list is fantastically overprice with huge 300% + markups. Susan Spicer is one of the few New Orleans restauranteurs that doesn't allow outside wine or have a corkage fee. I can't enjoy the food as much when I know I'm being ripped-off on the price of the wine.
Jeff Tharp
Top notch food. Server was pompas. We were not ready to order so she punished us. Making us wait 30 min before she came back. I'm in the biz and very aware of what was going on. So we tipped 20% instead of our usual 35%. Stars are for food. Service was 3 stars and that's generous.
melinda martin
We wanted to come in just for some drinks and the garlic soup. We felt like we were inconveniencing them by doing this and made the whole situation uncomfortable, yet slightly humorous. At this time there was only a couple people in the entire restaurant so it shouldn't have been a big deal. The garlic soup was absolutely incredible but apparently it's frowned upon to go in just for soup and drinks.
Julie Smith
The staff are outstanding! So friendly and knowledgeable. The food was beyond delicious! If you want an amazing dining experience, you have to eat at Bayona.
Xavier Joyeux
Very disappointed. The menu outside doesn't reflect the prices inside.
We booked a table for two at 10PM and expected a quick service a this time.
After waiting 20min for our entrees, we asked the waitress if there was an issue in the kitchen. We were told there was no issue and our dishes would be here in one minute. After 10min nothing, 20min nothing! Since nothing was coming out of the kitchen we asked the waitress for the check and decided to leave. The manager offered us the check and we left sourly.
Blake Hosli
Pricy place, buy well worth the splurge from time to time. We had the braised short rib which was brand new to the menu. It was the most tender, juiciest piece if meat I've ever had. I could eat it with a spoon if I wanted.
Porter
My favorite restaurant in the French Quarter. Thoroughly classy, great French-influenced menu selections (like cream of garlic soup - mmm), terrific al fresco dining in the courtyard, impeccable service. Been around a long time now, and for good reason.
Roberto Torres
A roach came out on the ceiling which made us move tables as almost made us leave. However, I am very glad we stayed, because after trying the food, if that roach had fallen into any of my dishes I would have used it to sup the sauce and eaten it. This is some of the tastiest food I've ever had, and I would come back any time.
Lauren Vander Zanden
What a way to start the trip to New Orleans. Lovely space in the heart of the French quarter, all the food was amazing and the sweetbreads entree was out of this world. Wonderful service and they even shared some of the history of the restaurant.
Nancy Sanders
Beautiful courtyard, amazing food, and impeccable service. They observed all safety protocols, as well. It was one of the best brunch experiences I've ever had.
Brittany Dorner
We sat on the top floor for special events and it was perfect! The food, wine and service were all impeccable!
Randal Garner
Don't let being part of a hotel fool you or keep you away. The food is top drawer and the service was excellent...waiter's recommendations were spot on. All of us had seafood and agreed it was some of the best we'd had in a very long time. We'll go back next trip.
Gary Lee
After reading some negative reviews, my wife and I still decided to give Bayona's a try. Lucky us! Surly waiters? You must be kidding! Harold was every bit the quintessential waiter deftly suggesting we share the smoked, fried quail salad since it was "quite large". My hanger steak rates in the top three pieces of beef this lad has ever eaten - already sliced for me and perfectly charred on the outside and rare in the middle. Ditto my wife's yellow fin tuna. Our escargot appetizers were a delightful surprise being cooked in a novel but delicious manner. House best dessert - the panna cotta flan- well, it lived up to its reputation - tasty yet not so filling. The restaurant is just so charming -perfect blend of comfort and serenity yet lively expectation. The extensive French wine list is great and you don't have to break the bank. Try the $55 Cote du Rhone Chateau de Cosme. Have to find it at home somehow! Thank you, Bayona, see you again soon I hope.
Marco Araya
Outstanding Thanksgiving dinner with family. Beautiful patio sitting area, excellent service, and above all great food. Definitely one of my most memorable holiday dinners.
Jay Hilliard
An "over the top" dining experience! Delicious food with a global influence served in a charming cottage with patio. Lauren was our Server and did a magnificent job!
Samuel A. Morris
Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, accessible location, cute courtyard. I personally did not enjoy my food, but I think it's because all I really wanted was what they've got at B. B. Kings.
Wouter de Bie
Yes! Bayona is worth it! We had great food, great drinks and the staff is professional and friendly! Definitely worth visiting when you're in town or when you live here!
Tracie Cantu
The food and the people are out of this world. Well worth it!
Meridith Moore
We enjoyed our dining experience here. The quail salad was excellent, as was the shoulder filet with asparagus and an gratin potatoes. Great service!
Geoffroy Païs
Delicious food and atmosphere is great!
We took the Tuna and the gnocchis and the salmon = Amazing!!!
Even the cocktail are super tasty!
Hernan Jaramillo
Great, especially the lamb loin and the gorgonzola croutons
Desiree mcCloskey
We love this romantic restaurant when visiting New Orleans. The Garlic soup is a favorite. The ambiance, service and menu always leave us with happy memories.
Eric Stephenson
Incredible, one of the best meals I've had in a while. Atmosphere is a little stuffy as is common with restaurants of this stature. Request a table in the courtyard if they have one available.
Nicholas Owen
Waitress was a little kookado but other than that it was good.
Donnie Tilghman
Despite some of the negative reviews, we tried it anyways and it was 'Awesome'!!! The food was some of the best I have had. Service got a bit slow in the end but they were busy. Waitresses were very knowledgeable about the food and wine list. Would definately reccomend this restraunt if in NOLA.
Michael Dominici
For over three decades one of the top dining experiences in New Orleans. Unwind and let the best food in New Orleans dazzle you.
Colin Gebhart
Everything we had was a great combination of flavors, perfectly cooked and expertly seasoned. The dinner was a relaxing pace and the cocktails were excellent.
Jennifer Johnson
Great service. Great food. The lemon fudge with raspberry sorbet was unforgettable. I wish I could have taken a bar of the lemon fudge home. The only thing I didn't like was the bloody Mary.
Jessica D
The service was absolutely tremendous! At first glance, I didn't see anything on tje menu. I just picked the salad and cruton with mushrooms. Well I was pleasantly surpriswd how good both items were and actually filled me up!
Donya Stubbs
Oh my! What a foodgasmic experience!! Tucked away, hard to find, but well worth the search. Pictures show a few of the wonders that graced our table! Very high recommendations for this one! A New Orleans MUST!
Michael McCoy
Susan Spicer is the best chef in New Orleans. Met her after she was featured on great chefs of New Orleans and been going to Bayona ever since. She was one of the leaders in the Katrina recovery.
Michael Arlé
Incredible food
Absolutely perfect, Susan Spicer is Magic
I had the Rabbit was with leek mashed, everything on the plate was blended perfectly.
Truly a rare treat of culinary bliss
Chris Ritch
Great service. Meal was good but not great. Was hoping in was more NOLA inspired menu. Alot of international flare, Asian and Indian. Would recommend trying it.
Evan Cadwell
Unlike other commenters our experience was wonderful. We weren't suited up but wore casual clothing. Seated quickly. Service was attentive and courteos. Our food and experience were above what is to be expected. Looking forward to returning..
Chris Howe
Unique flavourless, fresh menu every day based on what's available
Mary Leverette
Went to Bayona on a Great Chef's food tour by New Orleans SecretTours. The food was fabulous and the people there were wonderful. Met the chef, Susan Spicer, which was a great thrill.
Chris Carruthers
We were very impressed with the chefs culinary creations. Service could not have been better!
Peter Benedict
Stunning food, a few great beers, excellent cocktails. The fried oyster salad and New Orleans BBQ Shrimp were delicious.
Carol Harkins
Wonderful ambiance. Delicious menu. This place was quite a find for us on our recent visit to New Orleans. The locals seemed to want to keep it a secret. I don't blame them!
Deanna Mader
Best ever!! Please, give the duck "pb&j" a try!! So great. Best service and atmosphere. Also the rabbit risotto is very good. Great options. Enjoy! Bon appetit!
Alex Ruck

My sister, who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, had seen Chef Susan Spicer on a morning talk show and was adamant about visiting her restaurant when we visited New Orleans in 2003. She begged our way into a last minute reservation, telling the maitre d’ about how impressed we were with Chef Susan Spicer. Chef Spicer was kind enough to take a picture with us and insisted on making a special meal for us, which was a delicious rabbit dish. I plan to return when I visit New Orleans in October.
Amanda Cornelius
We had lunch in Bayona's courtyard which is quiet and serene, enjoyed a delicious soup and salad, and were shown the true epitome of Southern Hospitality.

OK food, great desserts, nice ambiance. Short, eclectic menu. Stick to the meats with classic preparation, skip Mediterranean/Indian/etc international dishes

Sarah & Jane were busy so my glass was empty a few times & we waited a few times. Bayona salad, pork chop with polenta, spinach & red pepper sauce, brioche, chocolate with chocolate & chocolate & espresso.
