August gave us a wonderful Valentines dinner experience! Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is warm and beautiful! I don’t think anything could top the crab and truffle gnocchi! Just superb. We are hoping to come back for a special occasion in the future.

Firstly, staff is amazing. Walked in without a reservation and the staff was kind enough to let us dine without a reservation. The food was the tastiest I've had in Louisiana for its type. The portion size was not too big. Well cooked. Perfect environment.

Very high end and classy. We were there on valentines, so they had set menu of ~$100pp. So with drinks and tips it is $250-$300 for a couple. Food was very good and high quality, portions are small as expected from such restaurant. Not sure it justifies the price though.

August is one of my favorite restaurants in NOLA. The dining room is romantic, best for date night. Excellent service and great foods. Love the Louisiana flavor with a twist of contemporary French. A must try when you visit NOLA.

This place is amazing! I travel all over the country and this is one of the best meals I have ever had. The staff was awesome. Specifically Nick, the bartender. His service was above and beyond. The food was perfectly prepared and the flavors were better than I had expected. I plan to be a regular any time I come into New Orleans.

August is a restaurant where you can have a good business dinner. It has esprit, charm and a good atmosphere.
However, the food is more like 3.5 out of 5 stars. The appetizer to main course ratio doesn't fit at all. The appetizers start at about $20 the main courses are about $40. However, the appetizers are only a third of the main course sizes. The amuse was about the size of the appetizers, or are the appetizers more like the amuse sizes?
The snapper in the main course is supposed to be one of the signature dishes. However, the combination of fish with shrimp and the hollandaise was not fitting. Maybe some vegetables are missing here. Maybe something refreshing green. Also, the hollandaise was very sour. The price was not worth the main course. Also, the arrangement was
in contrast to the appetizer rather clumsy. While the appetizers looked like small works of art, the main courses were rather unsightly arranged.
Service was okay. You could tell that the one waiter was new. It is always difficult when you prepare a drink and touch the garnish with your hands (coffee bean). Didn't Covid teach us anything about hygiene?
Also, you should think about nicer water glasses in this etablissment. These are rather beer glasses. In comparison, wine glasses are more like decoration.

A wonderful meal and exquisite service! I took my family here for dinner to allow our pre-teen to practice his fine dining etiquette. The wait staff was patient and helpful with all his questions. The food itself was delectable and utilized local and high quality ingredients. We sampled the royal reds salad, P&J oysters w/ caviar, the chanterelle agnolotti, black truffle gnocchi, seasonal eggplant, red snapper w/ buerre blanc, and the crusted strip steak. Each dish was well balanced and masterfully cooked. It was a great time teaching our kiddo about complex flavor pairings and watching him attempt to pick out all of the herbs and seasonings used in every dish. We will absolutely be back soon!

We went here for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. The drinks were done very well, my food was fantastic, and the service was very attentive and accommodating. Portions were small, but that’s to be expected with fine dining. Would definitely recommend

such a romantic spot for a date night!! the first and last pictures are complementary of the chef. we started off with the stuffed mirliton, gnocchi, and p&j oysters which were all amazing but my picture did not turn out good. i got the duck three way as my entrée and my partner got the steak, both so delicious. we ended our dining experience with the dark chocolate pot de creme which was to die for highly recommend ending your night with this. i also got the grapefruit fizz that was super light and refreshing. bring your loved one here you won’t regret it!! our waiters were so kind and friendly!

The ambiance of this place was everything!! From the service, to the drinks, to the food every thing was spot on! I really enjoyed my birthday dinner here. And you may also be dining next to a celebrity like we did. Alysse took very good care of us while we were there. This is definitely a must when I'm new orleans.

This place has amazing food, fantastic service! Only down side was their portions are so little lol
It's so little the entrée is an appetizer portion compared to other restaurants. We ended up ordering 3 appetizers and 3 entrée for 2 people...

Now this place was stunning! The atmosphere was perfect and classy. The food was on another level. My steak was made to perfection and the lamb my date had was so tender. Our server, Mark was very attentive and welcoming. I will definitely return here!

We all love the restaurant August! The food was delicious, lots of flavor, beautiful presentation. My son went to the bathroom and they brought the food at this moment but they brought it back to the kitchen to keep it warm and immediately as soon as he was back delivered it to his place. Wow, what a service. Also they treated us to some muse in the egg shell which was a surprise ( free) and very exquisite in taste. The restaurant is very pricey but worth every penny!

Beautiful restaurant with delicious and creative cuisine. Try the gnocchi with truffles and seared duck with foie Gras.

This place was more than just a restaurant, it was a dining experience. We had the chef's choice 5-course meal. Our waiter explained each dish to us before it came out and every single thing was delicious. Wine pairings are available with this, one wine to complement each dish. Every person on the staff was friendly and helpful. Pricey but worth it. Highly recommend!

Restaurant August is one of our favorite restaurants in the United States. We are from Delaware but we eat here whenever we are in town. The restaurant is beautiful. The service is excellent, and the food is supurb! We highly recommend it!

We came here for New Years, and they made sure that we had an incredible dining experience. Complimentary champagne, immaculate service, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. This was one of my favorite, if not my favorite, dining experience I have ever had in New Orleans. I will most definitely will be back.

I give August 5 stars. And my Waiter Cam gets 10stars. He was extremely professional, friendly and courteous. Cam is very informative about all menu items and I recommend him as the go to waiter when you dine at August. The restaurant was very clean and the bathrooms are clean.

Amazing menu picked out by chef, wine pairings were mostly good except the cab which was so-so, but an oyster had a perl, which was a great memento!

On our trip through the South, Restaurant August was hands-down our favorite place to eat. From the understated, very elegant atmosphere, to the wonderful service, and delicious food, this was a dinner to remember. Make sure to order the corn and crab bisque, it's to die for. If you are looking for a special place to spend an extraordinary evening, this is it!
Jonathan Peyton
Amazing food combinations. Great wine selection. One to put on the list for sure if you are in NOLA. Consistently good. Excellent service.

I came to Restaurant August last night and had a lovely time. I got the tasting menu with the wine pairings which cost $200. Do I think that the experience was worthy of a $200 price tag? Not really. The first few courses were wonderful- the crab risotto was my favorite course. The rabbit course was nice even though I don't care for rabbit much. The steak course (last course prior to dessert) was honestly mediocre, I can cook a better steak at home. The first steak that was brought out to me was cold and they brought me a new one which was at an appropriate temperature. The sauce served on the steak was amazing but the steak itself was very underwhelming- kind of tough and overcooked. I think this restaurant could really shine if it focused more on seafood and vegetables. My favorite part of the "meat" courses were the veggies that came with them. Get rid of steak courses... if I want steak I'll go to a steakhouse. Give me an amazing piece of fish or octopus or shellfish. I honestly would give the food four stars (for the price I would expect better) but the service was great. Yvette was my server last night- I sat at the bar- and she was awesome. BTW get the wine pairings, the wine pairings are excellent. If I went again I would not order the tasting menu... I would order individual items.
Jacob Milam
I went here with 4 others so I was sure to get a lot of pictures of our food. This place is amazing! They have a tasting menu that has 4 courses and they do change their menu regularly so dont be surprised if any of these items are not on there. We had amazing cocktails to start off then we each went through the four courses. They also start you off with some compliments of the chef ours was leak mousse with local caviar. I really can't explain how great this place is and pictures just don't do it justice. Its not the cheapest but it is well worth it!

Outstanding experience. Food was delectable. Service was exceptional (thank you, Mark and Vin!). Ambiance was perfect. Don’t miss the black & blue Gnocchi. It was probably the best food we’ve ever had. Foie Gras with scuppernong was a fantastic mixture of flavors. Our entrees were Red Snapper Pontchartrain and the Grouper- both great. Hands down, our favorite NOLA meal!

Oh... My... God.
I have to tell you, I ate at Peceh, Bourbon house, Commanders Palace and Galatoires. I also ate at many other restaurants which don't have the reputation the mentioned restaurants have. I must say, August Restaurant is the icing on the cake of fine dinning. From the front door to the person topping off my water and everyone in between, the service was absolutely wonderful and gracious. The food was 5 stars or more. A ton of flavor in those small appetizer and soup portions. I ordered the Cauliflower soup, two appetizers, one entree and two desserts. The sommelier helped me pair my evening with wine. The whole experience was just fantastic. I came in from out of state to enjoy this restaurant and i'm glad I saved it for last. It really does deserve at least 6 stars.

From the start of our evening at August, everything was perfect. Extremely pleasant staff, great service, knowledgeable wait staff in regards to the dishes and how they were prepared, and of course, the food.
It’s extremely rare these days to pick multiple appetizers, entrees, and a dessert off of a restaurants menu, and be left after each dish in awe of the preparation, the presentation, and of course the taste. All the flavors with the Louisiana crab and cucumber salad, field pea salad, gnocchi “black and blue”, red snapper pontchartrain, pan seared tripletail, and cafe brulot pavlova were sensational.
This restaurant should NOT be missed when visiting New Orleans. My wife and I sincerely appreciate the stellar meal this restaurant prepared for us.
Thank you August!

My husband I went to August to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The restaurant is stunning, simply and elegantly decorated with low lighting, candlelight sets the mood. We were seated by friendly and welcoming staff. From here, my husband and I had opposite experiences. For him, his food experience was a 10/10. Everything he ordered he absolutely loved. His dining experience however, a 7/10, there an unusual amount of fruit flies or gnats, and they kept flying into his drinks, landing on his plate, generally disrupting his experience. I only had a couple of gnats, so I'd consider my dining experience a 9/10. My food experience was not as positive. I'd give it a 6/10. The fois gras for me was very bland, and the bread served to accompany immediately overpowers any flavor you do taste. The texture, however, was delicious. The fried oysters as the second dish were delicious, though heavily breaded, and you lose the caviar in the breading seasoning. There were also way too many oysters for it to be successful second, I was personally pretty full from that dish alone, my husband had to eat a few of them to help me finish. My main was duck, with polenta and mustard greens, and I was so excited for it, but it really disappointed me. The polenta was creamy, but altogether very bland, the mustard greens were both gritty, as if not washed well, and impossibly tough. I don't think I've ever eaten greens you had to chew with so much effort in my life. And the star of the dish, the duck. The meat itself was delicious and tender. There was a layer of fat left on top of the duck, that was grilled(?), to I assume add flavor and juiciness. But it wasn't cooked long enough, and the fat was like chewing gum. The absolute star of the night was undoubtedly the wine suggestions from the sommelier. They were perfect and delicious. I'd like to also mention a very nice "surprise" opener and sweet end sent from the kitchen. Thank you so much to the staff, they were incredible. I'm not sure if we will do August again, I paid $330 + tip for a meal I wouldn't eat again. But it was certainly an experience.

We had dinner reservations for 5 pm. Being the first people there it was like having a private restaurant to ourselves. The wait staff was friendly, accommodating, and welcoming.
The service made me feel like royalty.
All of the food was cooked perfectly, well balanced, plated beautifully. I couldn’t ask for a better first time at a fine dining restaurant.
The portions were perfect. I left feeling full. More than satisfied. A true pleasure to experience.
Thank you restaurant August.

Simply amazing. Everything about it. We ordered lots of appetizers and then we got the chef's tasting menu for (5). It was very reasonably priced considering how much food we got. The service was terrific and the ambience was old school New Orleans. Will definitely go back.

An experience. Mirroring the other glowing reviews, August is incredible. I had the pleasure of being able to take clients here for dinner and everything was delicious. My swordfish entree was made to perfection. The service, drinks, wine recommendation and dessert were all wonderful too. Highly recommended, one of my favorite restaurants of all time.

Arguebly the best restaurant in New Orleans. Art and craftsmanship are unparalleled. Service is attentive and engaging. Seating is comfortable. An artistic experience with flavors and textures perfectly balanced. Wine list extensive and we'll matched to the food. Menus change with the season and local availability.

Amazing find dining experience! Came here with my girlfriend for a celebration and got the tasting menu and everything was delicious. Especially liked the lamb dish, it was cooked in two styles, braised shoulder and seared medium rare loin. The rabbit dish was also very delicious and I would definitely recommend coming here.
Mike Seibel
Exceptional service…highly recommend. We were extremely impressed all the way around. Colt and Ben were amazing and made the experience a 6 star!

This restaurant is flat out incredible. My girlfriend and I came to celebrate her birthday, and got the degustation menu with sommelier pairings. The staff was incredibly professional, and started us off with a delicious amuse bouche served inside of an eggshell.
Then came the swordfish crudo. The contrast between the swordfish and the jelly was incredible both in taste and texture, punctuated by the caviar and diced crisp granny Smith apple. The champagne pairing really brought an amazing brightness to the whole dish.
Next came the soup, and what an incredible soup it was. The presentation was incredible, starting with the shredded blue crab meat with a shaved black truffle, then pouring the soup onto it, just enough to cover the crab, leaving the truffle floating on top. It's not hyperbole to say that this was the best soup I've ever had in my life. The body was incredible, and when paired with the bread it was amazing. The wine served cut through the soup beautifully.
Following that was the shrimp tagliatelle, with the pasta made fresh daily. The sauce was simply incredible, and the addition of chilies was perfect to cut through the richness. The spice level was perfect, giving an excellent base to pair with the perfectly cooked shrimp. Again the wine paired beautifully, elevating the dish to a higher level.
The wagyu hanger steak was without a doubt the best dish served that night. The steak knife was unneeded, as the steak melted in the mouth, and the Bordeaux served with it brought the meaty delight into the stratosphere. The reduction served with the steak and vegetables was simply perfect, bringing everything together in savory delight that I will remember for a long time.
Finally, we had dessert, and the chefs kindly wrote happy birthday on my girlfriend's plate. Everything was wonderfully delicious, and I admit that at this point I was quite tipsy and the wine pairing here was perfect and certainly fortified. The whole menu worked beautifully, and was certainly worth every penny.
All of this was highlighted by the beautiful atmosphere of the restaurant, with amazing flowers and gorgeous chandeliers setting a romantic, elegant, and comfortable feeling that made everything work so so well. This atmosphere was improved by the staff, all of which were incredibly good at their job and a delight to talk to, willing to talk about whatever we asked. Eddie in particular was great, and he even offered some great advice on how to cook with chilies without pepper spraying yourself.
Overall, my experience was simply amazing, and if you've got the money, go here for the dining experience of your life. It is so so worth it, and I have no regrets at all.
John Nguyen
Great dinner. Ben, our server made great recommendations which all turned out delicious. Only downside to our meal was the obnoxious table across from us who felt everyone needed to hear their conversations.
Reid Webber
Excellent dining experience from beginning to end. All the staff were very attentive and helpful. However, the sommelier was extraordinary. She made top notch decisions for each course and was very knowledgeable about all the wines. Definitely would recommend eating here for any special occasion or just a day for indulging in excellent food and wine.
S B
Had a wonderful dinner here. Our table went with the tasting menu. Absolutely delish. Robert explained each dish with amazing details. Highly recommend.

From its gorgeous yet simple elegance to the subtle incredible flavors of its food, this restaurant is a treat for the eyes, ears, tongue and soul.

I went to Restaurant August to try out the Coolinary Menu. I had the corn and crab bisque (which was more bisque than anything else). It had good flavor though. The potato crusted blackfish was average, but it was so small. It came with a sad looking salad and 1/3 of the plate was filled with a random sauce. It was confusing. I had the devil’s food cake for dessert. I’m not usually a chocolate person, but it was pretty good. I had the Lavender Ford to drink. It was a twist on a French 75, good but I would have appreciated more of the lavender flavor. My 2nd one did not taste like the first and I had to send it back. The replacement tasted much better. Overall, the meal was decent but I cannot see myself going again.
Janet Hurwitz
There is a regular menu and then two five-course menus--one with meat, one vegetarian. Prices are extremely high. Five-course with wine flight, tax and tip for one person will be over $200. Wines were exceptional. Wait staff is extremely knowledgeable, professional and attentive. Food sounded interesting. My gosh dish and friend's scallops were surprisingly salty. Others said octopus and duck were very good. Desserts were also salty. For this price, I would go elsewhere.

We were blown away by the talent of every person in this restaurant. Our bartender Matt was one of the best bartenders ive ever seen and I used to bartend for 11 years in fine dining. The restaurant is lucky to have him! The food was impressive from beginning to end. Best money we spent on dinner in our life. Thank you Chefs and support staff!
Lenny
We were greeted immediately and sat at the bar where the bartenders were very attentive and helpful. The food was spectacular! We were provided the Amuse-bouche in an egg shell. Amazing! The GM, Wayne Vaughn, was personable and helpful. We're definitely going back to August!
Helena Li
Without a doubt, this is the best upscale and high- end restaurant in New Orleans!
First class services and 5 star fusion cuisine!
Very creative and rememberable taste!
Dan
Wow, service and food is 10/10. Food was absolutely delicious. Mark was our server and was an absolute gentleman and went way beyond on making sure we had an enjoyable dinner.
Michele Roy
Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. We love to travel, we love to eat, the people, food, and atmosphere here were phenomenal. We'll definitely go back when we come back to visit New Orleans.
Valerie Paxton
Always delicious! We love the August's Friday $29 Prix fixe 3-course meal. Beautiful space, ridiculous flavors and outstanding service.
Steve O'Connor
Food was simply stunning. Service was fantastic. If you're in New Orleans this is a must
Mary Jane Bell Amrein
Fabulous!,! Best dinner I’ve ever had. Every single item including their homemade bread and creamy French butter! Our server said it was a new chef who is making wonderful changes and doing lots of experimenting with ingredients. The signature dishes she recommended were just outstanding. Loved the decor and the flowers arrangements were stunning. Also impeccable service !!!

Bourgeois.
We stopped by for drinks and a snack on a Saturday night. We had the Casa San Matias, Ponchatoula Swing, Mull it Over, and Homage a Vieux Carreè along with the potato gnocchi. The Mulled wine cocktail was outstanding. The Casa was a margarita. The other too were good. The gnocchi was bland. The amuse bouche was interesting, a bit rich. The bread was dry.
Would go back for drinks, but not the food based on what we had.
Also, super bourgeoisie. The clientele were wearing evening gown attire (e.g., taffeta skirts, sequin or beaded cocktail dresses) accompanied by fur coats. If you sit in the bar a jacket was not required.
Isaac Garrison
It is very hard for me to rate very expensive places five stars. If I could I would give August 4.5. The service and atmosphere was basically perfect. Our food was excellent as well but I just can't give it that extra 1/2 star. We had the flounder, the pork and the wagyu. Regardless of my waffling on the star, I expect you will enjoy your visit.
Tummy Traveler
Heavenly! Yes, the price is a bit high. But, it's the last night of vacation. Everything was perfectly blended in terms of taste and texture, hot and cold , sweet and savory. Flavors blended perfectly, and serving e was attentive and friendly.
Gracey Walsh
I love the food! Wagyu Hanger Steak is a must! And the Roasted Garlic Custard with Champagne Foam and Cajun Caviar looks so cool and really delicious! Great service too! We were seated on the back room which felt like we were dining inside a train, which maybe because our reservation was made the night before. Would be awesome if we were in the front room where the ambiance looks amazing! I will defintely go back to August!
Jane Day
Great experience, Chef's table. Our party of 10 thoroughly enjoyed it. A bit pricey, about $150 pp, which included 2 children and one non-drinker. The fixed 5 course menu made it easy - nice to have dinner decided for you every once in awhile.
Sofie Bri
Friendly staff and the place is spotless. The food is exquisitely prepared, but the portions are on the smaller side.
Nathanial Stuart
This is consistently the greatest restaurant in Nola. I got the vegetarian tasting menu. The combination of flavors in the food are delicious. I come to Nola 3 times a year and i make sure to stop in for a bite everytime.
Renee Gervais
Exquisite dining at its finest!!! August is an amazing restaurant in the heart of the New Orleans action. From the delicate beet salad to the perfectly cooked red snapper served in an amazing presentation. We topped it off with the incredibly yummy Brown Betty. The service was impeccable, their sommelier, Erin, helped us pick a fine bottle of wine. Every need was attended to perfectly. You will not be disappointed.
Beth Loreto
First rate if you want a romantic and cozy place I highly recommend this place staff are friendly and makes our selections sounds so delicious.
Me and my husband enjoyed our Anniversary dinner.

I'm moving away so my best friend and I had one more dinner at August. My favorite restaurant for celebrations. I had the crab tartlette to start, delicious. (I believe she had a salad which I didn't get a picture of.) For entrees I had the scallops almondine which were PERFECT. She had the duck which I tasted and was also incredible. In lieu of dessert we had after dinner drinks. Frangelico for her and B&B warmed for me. Found out she'd never tried port so I ordered a ruby with the chocolate sherbet to get the whole red port/chocolate effect. We shared it. The service was exceptional as always. (Sorry this review isn't as detailed as I'd like. Things have gotten hectic with the move, but I'm throwing in the pics I took to compensate a little!)
Jeff deLucia
The food was overall good, though not anything that justifies the cost. We ordered the steak and scallops though the potato gnocchi was probably the highlight of our overall meal. Portions are very small albeit surprising filling.
The atomaphere while nice was a little too stuffy for our liking, the waitstaff seemed very judgemental and put off a vibe as if we weren't meant to be there (not sure if we're too young, weren't dressed well enough or just didn't smell of enough money). We had to request for the cocktail menu three times before we finally got one.
In the end we tried August but we likely won't be back, I'd recommend GW Fins instead.
Carolyn De Melo
Easily the best restaurant in the entire city. One of the best service experiences I've ever had, and with captains and servers that were well-informed and also very friendly. Sometimes at higher-end restaurants there is an air of judgement or formality, but the staff was incredibly warm. Their menu changes seasonally, and is a modern take on the cuisine of the area - they highlighted satsumas when I went. Unlike some other restaurants offering tasting menus, you can actually "craft your own" from existing dishes off of their tasting menus/menu. Also, for a city very focused on meat, they offer a vegetarian tasting menu as well. On top of everything, the decor is classic New Orleans meets classic regency, and they have huge fresh flower displays.
Seda Unal
Went there during a trip to Nola for Mardi Gras because a very talented chef friend from SF highly recommended. We enjoyed the dishes, had steak, swordfish and foie gras. Great experience, would definitely eat there if I'm in Nola again.
Philippe Trounev
I did not particulary enjoy my dining experience here. Service and decor were amazing. However food was not good. I ordered stake which tasted horrible. Dessert was awesome. Appetizer was ok...
Jessica Shin
I make sure to stop by John Besh's August on all my trips to NOLA just to get a bite of the crab truffle gnocchi. It is one of the best bites of food that will instantly elevate you to heaven. I expect nothing less from this fine dining restaurant with impeccable service and great wine list. They also provide an amuse bouche in a hollowed egg shell, this time a cardamon pistachio cream.
Jason Kirby
Lunch with friends in beautiful August. Relaxing, upscale atmosphere with excellent service. Wish there were white tablecloths everywhere but you can count on them here.
Had the squash ravioli with a tequila specialty drink. Wanted to spend the rest of the day looking out and visiting but alas, there was shopping to do!
Ken Levinson
If you are looking for a first rate fine dining spot in New Orleans, August is a perfect fit. The food and service are top notch. I recently stopped in after a Pelican game and was more than impressed. Highly recommend the flounder Pontchartrain. Hope to visit again soon.
Caleb Abel
Literally the best meal I have ever eaten in my entire life. Going somewhere else for appetizers beforehand is probably the biggest regret I have from all my time in New Orleans. The pork and peaches dish blew my mind. The gnocchi was so good I wanted to cry. The key lime dessert was the perfect ending.
Ali Z Valian
Beautiful place and even a better service. The food (fish) was properly prepared and very well presented on the table. Excellent.
Luda Poluyko
Beautifully presented dishes that are overall delicious, but some definitely missed the mark of flavor, especially for the price
doug glenn
One of my favorite restaurants in the world! The potato gnocchi with crabmeat, parmesan and shaved truffle is transcendent! And the signature Ponchatrain flounder is a religious experience. All of this is an elegant and warm dining room. You will love August!
burton mcdaniel
I would highly recommend going if you are a foodie. The atmosphere is perfect! The dishes are to die for! I would rank it as one of my Top 3 restaurants in the U.S.
Vincent Basquiat
still a very Good restaurant but not as great as it used to be.Service was very cordial but spotty ,wine was delivered half way thru main course ,after dinner drink was never delivered. This used to be one of the great restaurants of New Orleans
Hailey Laine Johnson-Kelly
My best friend and I dined here last night and it was one of the most sublime experiences I’ve had while eating. The food was delicious, playful, gorgeous, and filling. Elise made our experience wonderful, she is an absolute gem and having her was wonderful. The duck confit salad was ridiculously good, the oysters were cosmic, the sweet tea duck was to die for, and the popcorn ice cream chess pie was sublime.
Chia Hui Chung
Excellent service. Best items were the duck and the blue crab salad. Oxtail pasta and quail were a bit on the saltier side. Beautiful place for business lunch or dinner!
Steve Kreidler
The only ding on the food was the un-rendered fat on some of the duck slices. Wonderful flavor but chewy with the fat on.
Romy H.
Chic restaurant with courteous/attentive staff. Tasty food and great presentation. Highly recommended.
Alyssa Wagstaff
The service and atmosphere was incredible! To our surprise, the waitress even had a special dessert prepared for our anniversary (which was delicious!) and the other courses were great as well. I would recommend August to anyone looking for a special dining experience in New Orleans !
Ashley Rickey
I went here with my best friend on our last night in NOLA. It was an incredible experience with top of the line service and food. Apparently they were short staffed that night, but you would have never known it with how attentive the existing staff was. The general manager ended up being our server. He had extensive knowledge of the menu and the beautiful restaurant. We are 24 year old girls that come from small towns and had never been to such an establishment but he made us feel right at home and made sure our experience was special. I cannot say enough about that man or this restaurant. We were in awe at of the kindness we were shown. We plan to go back every time we visit New Orleans in the future.
Stephanie Elias
Over the top attentive not one stone unturned, or shall I say not 1 fork unturned... impeccable service the food was amazing beyond words very impressed.. highly recommended.
Daniel Tsang
Service and food were excellent.

"if NOLA were granted the privilege of being rated by a French tire company, this would be on top."
Was a special event where the tasting menu with wine paring was appropriate so went with that. The wine somehow seemed to get better with every dish in amazing ways. Seriously, the wine list was full of grand slams by afficianado standards and each dish only made that more impactful. Chateauneauf-du-pape for the crescendo with steak sealed the deal, this meal "slapped." Best haute cuisine in New Orleans hands down,
Charlie Harrison
Best food I have ever had hands down! I would come back to New Orleans just for this place!
Asif Khan
One of the most wonderful culinary experience I have had. We had the tasting menu with a five-course meal. The entire experience was magnificient. The food was delicious although the dessert left something ot be desired.
It is expensive (the meal was $110 per person) but worth it if for a special occasion. The a la carte would be more affordable.
Cheryl Crifasi
We took a chance of eating at the bar and were so surprised and happy that there were two empty seats! The bartender, Nick, was super attentive and made perfect drinks. I also highly recommend the Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon.
We ordered a mix of appetizers, entrees and desserts to share. My favorite was the lobster and ravioli, with the scallops a very close second. Seriously, everything was fantastic. I highly recommend this place!

There's only one word to describe this restaurant... EXCELLENT!!!
Everything was perfect.
Nadja Irwin
This place was amazingly delicous. Our waitor was so awesome but the Chef was the best and handsome!!!! Loved New Orleans and this fine dining at August was such a great experience

I chose this place because it was the closest to a Michelin star that I could find, and they deserve one. Mark and Cameron were our waiters, both were attentive and very kind. They made the experience a 5 star. And the food…incredible. We were just amazed at the flavor profiles, the presentation, and the beauty and atmosphere of the restaurant over all. We would absolutely recommend coming here, thank you Cameron and Mark for your wonderful and attentive service. We won’t forget this dinner!
Charles Messa, III
Michelin star quality food and service. The gnocchi and flounder were delicious with a unique flavor profile that was outstanding.
Dana “Chef D” Prive
Was one of our anniversary meals on our vacation.
The staff was awesome. Very informative and fun.
We had the smoked golden beet salad with goats milk ricotta and blood orange dressing. I didn’t find the smoke flavor and the blood orange flavor was a little lost but still a great dish.
My wife had the crispy P&J Oysters in a garlic dill flavor bomb !!! I had my first oyster here and liked it and my wife said it was the best she ever had!!!
We opted for an ala carte item of venison… yummy choice.
Then our main entrees were the Duck with heirloom grits, roasted Brussels sprouts and pan seared foie gra great job guys and gals! And my wife’s strip steak was perfect.
Couldn’t decide on one desert so the cheese cake mousse with pineapple and lime and dark chocolate ganache !!! Superb my friends …Superb!!!
Thanks
So much Better than the meal that we had at Emerils the night before.
Rosa Suarez
This was definitely one of the best restaurants by far! I booked this restaurant for my new husband and I to have dinner during our honeymoon and everyone at August went above and beyond our expectations. Each person that served us was so kind and very well informed about their menu and I'm so glad we were able to experience a wonderful dinner. I know we will be back to celebrate an anniversary or two! A big thank you to everyone at August for the high quailtyfood and service!!
Anthony Ross
Very nearly the best restaurant I've ate at in a long time. The food was original and forward thinking. It was little collaborations of flavor and ingredients done well. The bartender/drinks were perfect too.
Please for the love of God try the lobster spaghetti as a course, and the chocolate ganache for dessert... Menu is probably ever changing, but still.
Kae Graves
The flow of the service was spot on. The food is unforgettable. An experience that will never fade
Elsa R
Excellent textures, flavors, and ambience. We sat next to a James Beard medal. The place was dreamy with an elegant mixed classic/industrial style, brick walls, chandeliers, large framed windows, and beautiful trees outside.
Marc kindly told us about its history.
The bar looked pretty cool too. 👌🏻

Oh my! Sometimes when you to fine dining restaurants it just isn't worth the money or the calories but Restaurant August was unbelievably great. They start off with an amuse bouch which was delicious. I order the chop salad, beet and watermelon salad, ravioli, out of this world gnocchi with crab and truffles and the flounder with hollandaise made in heaven and then the peach Melba for dessert! The service was on point and it was one of the best meals I've had and the cost wasn't bad for the quality and flavor.
Johnny McClanahan
One of the best restaurants I have ever been too. Both times I went for the Friday lunch special which is a fantastic deal for this quality of food. Both times the appetizers and entrees were so good i order more just to try different dishes that they had. It may sound like I loved everything here. That would be correct. Amazing food!
Neil Kolar
Truly an amazing food experience! Definitely small portions but the way they layer and incorporate the various flavors into a single bite is really an incredible experience for your taste buds!
Liz Harris
Oh oh oh the duck, absolutely succulent! Entire experience wonderful, made do by staff. Don’t overlook this hidden gem.
Michael Martin
Wife and I chose to have dinner here our last night in New Orleans (vacation). The building and decor are marvelous, and we were quickly seated. The ambience is stunning and the servers were pleasant.
Service 9/10
Food Taste 10/10
Food Presentation 8/10
Dessert 10/10
We were both slightly unimpressed visually with the main course presentation, it fell flat. The taste was absolutely delicious but the presentation seemed mundane. Using sugar domes with smoke or additional "theatrics" would enhance the dining experience. It was simply presented as a plate of food, delicious food, but it was just missing that "going the extra mile" special touch for a restaurant of this caliber.
Jess Bailey
Service was great and food was REALLY good. Far better than the menu makes it sound!! Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the portion size, but incredible spot.
Patrick Sawicki
WOW, what a great place, amazing decor, friendly smiles, and warm welcoming vibes.
We had an amazingly warm meal, which was fresh and served quickly, several craft cocktails and a panacotta dessert.
I can't say enough great things about August.
Tip: definitely make a reservation, this is a highly sought out restaurant and fills up fast
Juliana Franco
Lets start with that we went for a weekend to New Orleans and we went twice . That being said the service is impeccable everyone at the restaurant is professional , very nice and they know what they are doing.
The food is an experience of flavors that explodes your palette .
Knowledgeable staff , Miss Erin the sommelier works with your taste and makes the best selection for you.
Melinda and Marc had excellent recommendation for food options and work with you depending on your taste and food restrictions.
The restaurant and everyone that works there deserve 6 stars .
Thank you for the hospitality and the experience.
Bob Harwell
Fine dining in comfortable surroundings. Only open for lunch a few days a year.
Nichole Butler
We celebrated our 1yr anniversary together with dinner at August and the only thing that could have topped the phenomenal food was the proposal that happened shortly after we left. Everything from the red shrimp chop salad, gnocchi black and blue, lobsters spaghetti, steak, lamb, and the Panna cotta was divine. The textures, flavors, under tones, drinks, and atmosphere complemented each other. 100% recommend making a reservation!
Miranda Walker
I had not dined here for years until recently. The current menu (March 2021) is fabulous, but know that it will change. The gnocchi and lobster spaghetti were stand-outs. There is plenty of distancing currently for anyone to feel safe dining out. The service team is attentive and welcoming.

New Years Eve and I wanted to end this year with something special. August was every bit that and more. I have eaten at every high end restaurant in this city and several over the rest of the country, but I do believe August is a top contender. The restaurant was beautiful, elegant with a charm that belies the past. The staff from the onset were accommodating and helpful with choosing the four course meal. Every course was amazing, with the light and ethereal gnocchi dumplings with crab and black truffles. Unbelievably rich and decadent. The main course of waygu strip steak could have been cut with a butter knife. Presented on a bed of creamed potatoes and a creamed spinach. Amazing! I will say this is a special occasion meal unless your pocketbook is overflowing with money, but well worth the occasional gastronomic feat.
Johnny A Hall
It's a great place to take someone very special to you or if you're try to impress someone. Birthday, anniversarys etc. Five course chef special with wine pairing. The food was excellent. I didn't think I was going to get full because it's served in small portions. But surprisingly I was full.$$$$
Elba Berrached
Love this restaurant! Everytime I go to NOLA I eat here, and everything is delicious! I just hope they bring back their lavender martini...
Rakshaka Gangrel
My wife, child and myself visited here for New Year's Eve. I have been here 2 times before, even with a shortened menu, the meal and service were spectacular. They were able to do a shortened tasting for my 6 year old son without sacrificing any quality at all, as well make him a mocktail so he could participate. The mushroom dumplings were one of the best things I have eaten in years, so much so that my wife switched her desert for another order. The staff is pleasant, friendly and funny. I can't recommending coming here enough.
Nils Kilden-Pedersen
The food is really good, but tiny portions and exorbitant prices. It's such a tired cliche that the more you pay, the smaller the portion. E.g. you get a 6oz strip steak for $55. That should have been either filet mignon or 10-12oz at that price.
Robert Cheatham
August was once again exceptional. Food was outstanding and service was perfectl
Jimmy
Amazing dining experience and the highlight of our trip to New Orleans. The staff was extremely knowledgeable on all dishes and made you feel like home the entire meal. The food was exploding with flavor, texture and aroma. The dessert was also very creative and tasty. You cannot beat this place, it is well worth the price.
Mouse
It's AMANDINE. Yes, there are almonds in the dish, but it's not spelled Almondine. Would have given you six stars but I knocked it down to five for this faux pas.
Candace McGowan
Went here for my wedding dinner two years ago and was blown away by the flavors. Decided to visit again for Coolinary this year and was not disappointed. Everything was as delicious as I remembered and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend the lavender ford cocktail.
Every dish you order here will have concentrated flavor and be well worth the price. If you’re looking for big portions, however, this might not be the right place. This restaurant values quality over quantity. But I guarantee if you dine here you will leave with at least one very memorable dish. Can’t wait for my next visit!
Swing LifeAway
I have been to quite a few restaurants all over the land--from France to Barcelona to Japan and many places in-between--and I can unhesitatingly say that this was one of the best and most enjoyable dining experiences I have ever had. The food was artistic in both presentation and flavor combination, the interior was clean and very pleasing to the eye, and the service was beyond stellar. Should my travels bring me back to New Orleans at some point this place will be at the top of my list to revisit.
Eleanoir Marshall
One of my favorite San Diego restaurants.
Very nice to sit inside today. Great food. A good selection of craft sodas and beer.
This is maybe the tenth visit.
Skylar Faunt
The food was flawless as was the service. Every dish was amazing and this restaurant represents some of the best New Orleans has to offer... which is saying a lot in a town where you can feast. John Besh was there and making the rounds at the tables, repeatedly to check on people to get feedback.... and he seemed like he really cared what folks had to say. must try
Ashley Neal
Simply excellent! Very enjoyable fine dining with dishes that are both unique and very satisfying. You will not leave hungry. In addition to the delicious food, the ambiance and service were wonderful. I also highly recommend a refreshing cocktail called "The Brittany".
John Bemis
A great place for Christmas Eve dinner... they even send a little gift for Christmas morning breakfast
Tres Davis
An amazing restaurant with fantastic food. The wait staff knows everything they're serving. Beyond some Michelin star places.
Robert Foltz
I’d consider this more of an experience than a meal. Robert was impeccable at bringing the menu to life, and helping to ensure we were comfortable with our selections. From there, everything was perfectly executed on, from appetizer to desert, and even the drink pairings. The plates were smaller, however, I was quite full since the flavours were so rich. Great place to take your significant other, would highly recommend!
Trevor Sumner
This was the best meal I have had in a year. A year! Wow it was so good. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. I could go on and on about each and every dish but literally everything was outstanding, even the dishes others ordered. This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans and there is no doubt that I will be back. Often.
Mr. Floyd
Always make sure to visit when I'm in NOLA. Exceptional food and presentation, wine selection top tier 👌🏾 and staff are perfectionists and welcoming. Love the atmosphere. …
Alexandra Aitken
Delicious food, great service
Hank Recor
The menu is completely delicious. The special gift plate was a delight. Our wait staff were so cheerful and really made a fell at home. This is a wonderful dining experience.
Adrian Chernyk
After living in New Orleans for 2 years, I recently came back to visit for Mardi Gras and decided to try the one top restaurant I never got a chance to try when I lived here, and so I came to August. All I can say is-- why did I not come here sooner. Food is amazing and staff is so professional. I simply loved just watching the staff do their job. Every movement of theirs was deliberate and efficient. I loved the thorough explanations of the dishes. My desert was an orange creamsicle cheesecake that was so unique. The restaurant is small enough that you feel well taken care of without the service being overbearing. This restaurant is expensive but a wonderful experience. Definitely the best restaurant in New Orleans. They were also very accommodating when the parades prevented us from getting to our reservation on time.
Martin Ong
August is amazing! We came here on Thanksgiving night and was pleasantly surprised on how delicious every dish we had was. My wife and I had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Our waiter Robert was friendly, knowledgeable, and cared about how we were doing. Went to Commander's Palace the next day and was very dissatisfied there with the food. August is worth visiting again and again. Glad we drove in from San Antonio, Texas for the week!

Early January, I took my then-girlfriend to Restaurant August in New Orleans. It was here that I was planning on proposing, but I had no idea that the staff would be so helpful and accommodating. Pulling out all the stops, Restaurant August treated us to the corner table in the main dining room - honestly the most ideal location - and each member of the staff waiting on us was keenly aware of the situation - while thankfully my girlfriend was not. After popping the question - and the joyful acceptance - Restaurant August warmly congratulated us and treated us each to champagne.
But I digress from their inordinate - and much appreciated - accommodation skills. Their food and service was absolutely phenomenal. We both decided to go with the Degustation Menu with Sommeliers Pairings, and it was all to die for. After a surprise appetizer from the chef, we both dined on five courses, each paired with a new and perfectly selected glass of wine. The waiters were vigilant and made sure we were constantly satiated - but were not a nuisance - and they really made the dinner quite enjoyable.
Restaurant August gave my fiancee and I an experience that we will never forget, and for it, we are forever grateful. I would like to take the time to personally thank the staff that worked on January 7, 2016, for making this an incredibly special night for the both of us.
I could not recommend this restaurant enough.
mark vandenbroek
One of the best meals I've had in a very long time
Judy Price
Finding parking near this restaurant is a real challenge so make sure you try to beat the lunch time rush. I got the mild sandwich combo and it was juicy and tender. Mild wasn't too hot and the atmosphere was pretty chill. The meal was definitely enough to keep me full for the rest of the day.
Jade Pippenger
An opulent choice for dinner. There are no wrong answers for choice of entree.
83 Jude
Celebrated the holidays in NOLA and spent my birthday here and had a perhaps one of the most phenomenal birthdays to-date!
The several course dinner was superb and the staff made us all welcome.
One-of-a-kind experiences, I wouldn't mind having again next time I visit New Orleans. August definitely left a lasting impression.
Steve Schlicht
Delicious food and great service! A wonderful fine dining experience. Highly recommended.
Jeff Dickey
One of the best restaurants in New Orleans. The food and atmosphere is excellent. The service was second to none.
Luis Alicea
When visiting a city I love walking around it and New Orleans was no exception. As I passed Gravier and Tchoupitoulas street, the Restaurant August caught my attention. I stopped and asked to the greeter Ashely if there was room for dinner. She was very polite and took me to the table immediately. The waitress Mark introduced himself and explained the restaurant's expertise. I immediately realized when someone not only likes his work but loves what he does. Well Mark explained so well, that my decision was the degustation menu with a great Cabernet wine! From appetizers to the dessert it was a bomb of flavors in every bite. Delicious!!!The food and customer service were outstanding! I highly recommend the Restaurant August. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Rex Fonseca
We had a nice meal, each having the tasting menu after each having an appetizer. That was too much food. Next time the tasting menu will be enough. It was very good food. The quail was my least favorite course as it was too small & filled with bones. There was a team of people who waited on us. (Too many in my opinion.) The bright light at our dinner was our interaction with Erin Ryan White the wine sommelier. She was very charming & took time to help to help us get the right wine. She even provided us with the name of the vintner & the wine for future at home drinking.
David Huang
August offers the best tasting menu with great wine pairings, reasonable priced and generous pour by Erin who is very knowledgeable
Heidi Henderson
This was by far the most incredible dining experience I have ever had! We had a 5 course meal that was so delicate prepared with such elegance. The duck breast was the star of the show. As an appetizer, we ate gnocchi in a creamy sauce and black truffle shaved on top, the foie gras was prepared 3 ways and each one had a wonderful taste. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be treated with extra special care. The staff was so professional. This is a place you want to dress up for the dining experience.
Bobbette Oreilly
I did the four course pris fixe menu and I got the veal chop. Everything was exquisite. Except the veal chop. It was grissly and very hard to cut. But the tomato beet salad, the bisque, and the dessert made it totally worth the price. Impeccable service. If you need a splurge you can't go wrong coming here.
Brian Anderson
My wife and I came for the vegetarian tasting menu, what a treat. Creative seasonal dishes with a unique twist. My wife didn't care for one of the courses and the didn't flinch, got her something more to her liking. Dessert was great, building is cool too. Make sure to walk around and go upstairs to see all the accolades from the press.
Liz
First of all I would like to start out by saying this restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. The main dining room has exposed brick, large windows, and giant chandeliers that create an exquisite and intimate atmosphere. The ONLY problem I had with this restaurant was the salt content in the sauces, which made me very sad because the rest of the meal was so delicious. The flavor profiles were top notch and sophisticated and the dishes had such depth to them. I got the flounder which was cooked to perfection, it was a complex dish with toppings and a hollandaise sauce. Every item was cooked well, but I was finding myself only able to concentrate on the salt I tasted in each bite. Maybe it as just a fluke that night. Overall I would visit August again for the atmosphere, but the rest of the food in NOLA gives it a good run for its money.
Arthur McNabb
Atmosphere is the very rich and relaxing. The servers are more attentive than almost any restaurant I've been too in the last 10 years. Robert was help and very suggested the course meal. My partner and both ate it and agreed it was one of the best course meals we have had in the US.
Will return
Renee Hunter
The food was well plated and thoughtful. The atmosphere made it feel like you were hundreds of miles off B-street. Recommend this place to anyone looking for a refined local cuisine. I showed up in jeans an flats with a leather jacket and felt a little out of place- so definitely want to get a little dressier.
Georganne Shirk
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The food was amazing, as was the service. My dinner companions and I raved about this meal for days afterward. I highly recommend the tasting menu. Perfection!
Catherine Dix
This was probably the best meal I have ever had! The dishes were fabulous, and all the ingredients were distinct and pure. We had the gnocchi with blue crab and truffles, the slow roasted rabbit angoletti, as well as the duck and grouper. Everything was absolutely delicious!!!
Peter Garrison
This restaurant is amazing from the excellent service to the welcoming decor to the unique dishes of fresh fish. I had a sheepshead fish, on the recommendation of the waiter, which I had never had before. It was "out of this world" . A white flaky fish prepared perfectly with a delicious sauce. My friend was gnocchi, also recommended by the waiter. -- soooo good. I don't think you can go wrong with any dish. They have a tasting menu which we would have tried but we were going to the theater. I would not go to New Orleans without stopping at August. Make sure you make a reservation in advance.
Harold B
Just in town for a conference without reservations, but was able to get a table by the bar area. Same service, same dinner menu - just on a smaller table. Impressed with the appetizers, The beef strip was not as tender as I expected it to be - flavor was there but got too sweet towards the end. Great establishment overall.
Fred Anklam
Very diverse and interesting menu. Delicious food that was presented beautifully. Unique cocktails. Attentive staff (We ate in the bar and were treated as if we were in the main dining room.) Couldn't have been happier.
Rohenne Lee
A John Besh restaurant! Great place for a more serious date night. Definitely higher prices than the average Nola restaurant but the inside has a romantic low light vibe and a legit wine list.
However...the food did not blow me away. I was more impressed by the desserts than anything else. Service was impeccable though!
Appetizers: fried oysters are a must! Really juicy and soupy inside. Very well seasoned. The stuffed blue crab was disappointing - nothing too special about this one.
Mains: their famous flounder dish is okay..the sauce was quite beautiful but the fish itself is bland and strangely breaded. And the soft shell crab was overly breaded.
Desserts: both the panda cotta and fried apple pie were amazing! Can't go wrong with either of them. The apple pie is more of an inside out apple pie, really something special.
Stefanie Ziller
What a treat for lunch! We ordered off the prix fix menu which is such a bargain.. But one main entrée was much smaller than the other (rabbit ravioli). The fish was cooked wonderfully. We weren't stuffed but it was great to sample some of the chef's creations. The staff is so polite and attentive. Hope to make it back for dinner one day.
Teresa Cook
The service was wonderful. They were attentive, kind and polite. The food was really good and came out in a timely fashion. The owner comes to say to each table and was delightful! There is local art all over the walls that she has collected over the years. The bathroom needs a renovation is the only recommendation.
Sims Witherspoon
Went for New Year's Eve dinner, and it was lovely. Would have preferred a longer menu, but will certainly go back to try their à la carte!
Johnny Blanchard
This establishment is truly spectacular. My current favorite restaurant in New Orleans (!!!). It is priced for special occasions but the food and service are second to none. Our waiter had such intimate knowledge of every item on the menu - he knew where the ingredients were grown and processed and exactly how they were prepared. He made us feel so relaxed and comfortable and made excellent recommendations. Not only was the food incredible, but the presentation was exquisite. August truly spares no detail in their quest for excellence. We were there during Mardi Gras weekend and actually watched a parade pass right outside the window. The only thing August left to be desired is a return visit - and I pray I will have occasion to return again soon!
Joann Marks
The best food in new Orleans. Nyc worthy for much less dollars. Very accommodating, we all got the chefs menu but they totally customized my options. Great wines. I always go when in new orleans. Service top notch.
22 bella
Excellent Again. Menu reads as a prefix. It does not say it and the waitress neglected to inform us but you can order a la carte - you’ll just have to guess the price - but if your dining here, that’s probably not an issue.
md f
I could write a novel here but I'll try and keep it short: ive been fortunate enough to experience fine dining all across this country and I have to say this is literally the best establishment I've ever had the pleasure to dine in! The staff is beyond incredible. When I'm dining there I feel like the most important person in the world. The atmosphere is just perfect in every way. But the food...omg the food! I looked in the dictionary for a word that describes how delicious the food is and it doesn't exist
Brad Beggs
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere, but they certainly should be for the prices. Be prepared to spend at least $100/person.
August has been featured in Gourmet magazine's "Guide to America's Best Restaurants" and "America's Top 50 Restaurants"; however, for the money there are many better options in NOLA.
Priya Kapoor
Amazing and our waiting (can’t remember his name but reminds me of Stephen Colbert) totally awesome. We were having an awesome time with our friends and food and he made it even better. Great place, great food — worth the visit! Everything you get will be good so can’t send any specific recco, just enjoy it!
Marissa Wise
Just enjoyed a beautiful meal at August! The hubs treated me to August for my birthday. This place is wonderful and worth the extra money.
We started with drinks. I had the Lavender Ford. The balance between lemon and lavender was stunning. Not too floral and not too citrus. Anything with lavender often gets too floral but not this time.
Our amuse bouche egg cup was like the best part of an everything bagel with cream cheese. Delicious garlic & scallion.
I had the spanish octopus with Benton Bacon as an app. The bacon was smokey but sweet stunningly good a d the octopus was perfectly cooked and delicious.
My flounder ponchatrain was great but not stunning, but my husbands duck dish was our of this world!
We asked for a wine pairing with our meal and that elevated our meal for sure! The sommelier knows her stuff!
I finished with the pavlova and it was light and citrusy and beautiful. The candied ginger sorbet and lime flavor just dance on your palate beautifully.
August is worth it! Come here,
Treat

Food was amazing! Did the tasting menu and was blown away by the flavor combinations. The chandeliers are gorgeous and even the flower arrangements were over the top. Loved, loved, loved it!

Had one of the BEST meals here last week. Went for lunch, they have a prix fixe menu. Everything was impeccable. The decor is pleasing, the food superb, and the service was spot on. We highly recommend and will definitely visit when we come back to NO
Paul Carter III
We reserved a party there for 35 VIP business partners at the commencement of a trade show. Everyone enjoyed the food and ambiance of the charming building.
The staff was attentive yet unobtrusive, I'm sure that even our boisterous gaggle of revelers hardly challenged their hosting skills.
Corey Duncan
Phenomenal experience and THE BEST service in New Orleans. YOU HAVE TO COME HERE!!
STEVE MIGNONE
This was a gastronomic feast and a dynamite experience delivered by all staff, especially Robert. The dining experience was relaxed and at the same time very upscale and unobtrusive. Robert's knowledge of how items were prepared and what to expect from each dish was spot on! From the moment you taste the amuse-bouche you realize you're in for something special. Every dish was like an exquisite "Iron Chef" like episode. Thank you and the staff for an amazing dining experience!
Susan Rome
This was the absolute best dining experience in all my years of travel, internationally and locally. The ambiance, wait staff, friendliness and delicious food all made for the perfect occasion. All positives for the exceptional restaurant, August!
Jim Clipperton
After 9 nights of unbelievable food we finished off our trip at August. It was the perfect choice. The food was spectacular. I had the Flounder and was very happy with the flavours. I would recommend to everyone.
Annie McLaughlin
Spectacular from start to finish. Warm, knowledgeable, ATTENTIVE staff, lovely dining room, and some of the most creative, well prepared, beautifully presented food you'll get in this foodie city. This place knows how to do things right without going over the top. A fabulous dining experience. Bravo!!
Nathan Lacey
My Fiancee and our friends came to visit on our trip to New Orleans. Our hardest task was trying to choose what wine we wanted! Great food! Complimentary egg appetizer. I had the Wagyu! Cooked a little rare when I ordered medrare, but it was still tasty nonetheless. Thank you for great food and great service!
Jillian Shanahan
AMAZING FOOD! A bit pricey but worth it, apps are super small and not really for 2 people but taste AMAZING! Love love love
Ryan Chapman
Excellent offerings in an upscale, yet subdued and relaxed atmosphere. Truly good BACKGROUND music; very nice respite from the cacophony typical of most modern dining experiences. Highly recommend patronage and enjoy the fare.
RebelWithoutApplause
Absolutely a great dining experience!
First of all, our server Robert was so great! So knowledgable about the dishes, so kind and warm, and such a genuinely nice guy! The food was fantastic! We had the following:
* Salad of Royal Red Shrimp - delicious!
* Potato Gnocchi - delicate and divine!
* Hot & Sour Shrimp Dumplings - we asked for them to be a little extra spicy and they were soooooo good! It makes my mouth water thinking about this dish and the wonderful broth they were in. I would order 3 orders of this next time and just eat this with the french bread to dip into the juice!
* Pork Loin - this wasn’t my favorite but I’m just not a fan of medium cook on pork dishes and that is the way this one is done, on purpose - but this one is brined first, then roasted to medium so if you like it that way, you will love this one.
* Roasted Swordfish - OMG this was amazing! It comes in a smoked beef marrow juicy roux and it was heavenly!
* Chocolate tart - Yumm!
* Cornmeal Chess pie - Double Yummm! (Those popcorn crispy things with the popcorn ice cream...get out!)
LOVED this place!
Oh PS: We dressed nicely and husband wore suit and tie but the table next to us had men dressed in jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes - so there is no enforced dress coat - we didn’t mind.
Mattie Ford
Absolutely best service and best food in New Orleans! Every item, starting with the wine and finishing with dessert was incredible. I would eat their heirloom tomato salad everyday if I could, and I don’t even like tomatoes!!
Garrett Alton
We had an absolutely amazing dinner at the bar. Some of the best food we’ve ever eaten and all the cities we’ve traveled. Living in Chicago gives us a pretty good perspective on what fine dining is in August took it to a whole new level. Can’t wait to come back
Pitt Daddydiesel
Good, but not great. Had the Waygu beef, and have had better elsewhere. They make a pretty darn good old fashioned though. Probably would be higher up the list in another city, but with so many amazing choices in NO, I don't anticipate eating here again.
Khlanie Jackson
Very very nice restaurant, and classy! This is a great place for a date. I bit to expensive for my taste, but it's always good to come here for a special event. My boyfriend brought me here for our 4th year anniversary and I loved it. So elegant! Definitely will be coming back. Their food is delicious and their waiters are super friendly and attentive.

Some of the best food I have ever tasted! Romantic atmosphere, very attentive staff with excellent service and detailed knowledge of the menu items. A little pricier than other places but definitely get what you pay for. Reservations recommended.
Baron Daul
Expensive as to be expected but wow, the food was incredible and best part about it was that I didn't leave stuffed so badly that I was in pain. The foie gras and gnocchi were absolutely fantastic.
Also if you're looking for any sort of a romantic time, go early in the evening. More tables open and thus, quieter.
Teodoro Ishii
had a wonderful meal at August. from service to food everything was excellent. started with potato gnocchi as the app. very good. main was "breaded" flounder. absolutely amazing and so rich. after desert they present you with a plate of mini pralines & macaroon. the only thing that could have made it better was if Chef Besh showed up.
Thor3
Great upper end dining experience. Great old structure, attentive but not intrusive staff. But food is primary reason. Interesting and delicious, consistently amazing.
Rachel Romma
We went here for my birthday dinner. Can't really fault this place. It's an old school fancy restaurant where you definitely want to dress up to dine here.
The staff gives old school, fancy service. Very attentive. Food was great.
Bill Baker
Lunch at Restaurant August is always a special occasion for us. The food, the service, the ambience all all too notch. We almost always get the prix fixe meal with a glass of wine, as we did on this occasion. My wife started with the Brussels sprouts salad and it was very different from any Brussels sprouts dish either of us have had. The sprouts had been either blanched or sous vide. They were shreaded

Might be the best meal I've ever had.
Went for the five course degustation menu with wine pairings ($147).
Every course was flawless. Each pairing perfect. Service impeccable.
My son claimed his banana pudding (deconstructed) was the nest dessert he's ever had and he doesn't even like bananas!
$180 per person for the prix fixe, about $90 a la carte, gratuity included.
Alison Zink
Along with Stella!, the best fine-dining restaurant in New Orleans, hands-down. Get dressed up and order seriously anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. They also have a delicious - and totally affordable - prix fixe menu on Fridays at lunch if you don't want to splurge for dinner.
Richard Gee
Wow......These people know their stuff. A world class restaurant. From their original take on a Pisco Sour on arrival, feasting on every small but perfectly formed course and meticulous yet warm service my wife and I were thrilled.
Never has a simple garden salad been so flavorful. Soft shell crab was crazy delicious and my wife's wagyu hanger steak was exceptional. Desserts were both original and 10 out 10! Best fine dining experience we've had anywhere in the last 12 months.
Matthew Small
Got a steak with fermented black beans. It was not to my taste.
They made me a whole new steak no questions asked.
I’m glad as it was a $60 steak.
Not great how small the sides portioned out for the expensive cost.
Sy Taylor
We had the tasting menu. Wasn't particularly special. The sides were all super sweet. The wagyu was slightly over charred. Not unpleasant but didn't live up to the hype of the reviews at all.
eden brachot
I was sadly disappointed here. We arrived a bit early and weren't greeted very nicely so we waited outside and came back when it was time. Ordered one regular tasting menu and one vegetarian tasting menu. The vegetables were sour and made my stomach hurt. I actually went out and got bread after. After hundreds of dollars we weren't full or impressed. The wait staff was courteous and the interiors were beautiful which took the edge off.
Update: I reached out to the general manager at the email provided but received no response...
Victoria Ocholla
Was lucky to get a last minute reservation on a week night. The food and service were great, attentive yet not overbearing. Robert and Ann Marie took grear care of me. Will definitely be back on future visits to NOLA.
KennethsStudio4Hair
We wanted to treat out of town guests to an outstanding New Orleans fine dining experience to celebrate three collective birthdays. Our expectations were exceeded! The wait team was knowledgeable and most accommodating. Our server, Mark, responded to our every request to make it a special night. The sommelier was outstanding! My husband, celebrating his 75th, assigned wine selection to two guests. . She was patient, informative, and allowed the two guests to select a wine while being informed and without feeling humiliated. I recommend allowing her to assist you. She is worth the tip. The food is in a special category even in the fine city of NOLA. I would recommend for any special experience and anyone wishing to expose out-of-towners to our cuisine at a very high level. The decor is beautiful including the lady's room . John Besh should be very proud of his flagship team at August.
Meriah Smith
Food is elegant and delicious, staff is very friendly, prompt and informative. The decor is sensational. Thank you for making our 10 year anniversary and our first night in new Orleans one to be remembered!
Andrew Schmitt
Food, service and atmosphere were incredible. Chef Todd's food lived up to his reputation. The crab and black truffle gnocchi was, as usual, delectible. Great lunch deal with the pre fixe menu.
Victor S
Fantastic food. Best meal of the year for us. One of the top five meals of my life. The chef is a genius. Plain and simple. Dining room (ambience, staff, service) experience first rate. Refined but unassuming.
Sachin Dabir
We went there as a family. Wonderful ambiance and very friendly staff. Made us feel very comfortable and explained the menu very patiently. The food was really good.
Though the price may look bit high but for such an ambiance and exclusiveness it is totally worth it.
Daniel McFadden
Wow. Amazing meal. I had the charred winter greens and brussel sprout salad. Really fresh and flavorful. For my entree I had the Rebecca Lirette's Pork and it was delicious. Very tendy and flavorful. Almost looked undercooked, but it was perfect. We had a group of 6 with a reservation and they took great care of us. Good wine selection, prompt service and kitchen. Great business meal or works as a nice romantic dinner. The decor is a little boring. Kind of an old fancy-pants New Orleans look.
Oleg Fedoroff
Private banquet...cocktails plus five-course dinner. Meticulously prepared for 50 fifty guests. Served with the correct timing at the correct temperature with nice style and no useless flourishes. Second floor banquet room accessible to scooters, with ease.
John Switzer
Another of the highly rated restaurants of Chef John Besh. More laid-back than Luke, with a softer and more formal atmosphere. Service was excellent.
Scott Kolonko
the meal started off well enough with a great sweetbread appetizer. however, everything went downhill from there. the sirloin steak i had was tough and did not taste like anything special at all. as a person who has been to many of the nicer no restaurants, as well as to many nyc steakhouses, this had to be the most disappointing entrã©e i have ever had. i think their menu would benefit if they expanded the number and variety of their offerings.
Christina Collins
This place stands out in every way possible from the ambiance to the pure rep they have. So when a customer would aske where they should go for a romantic dinner? I would always have August in my top 3 places to go because there was never a complaint or sense of dissapointment. And they always brought me back some of the best chocolates I have ever had.
Elizabeth Gruben
The absolute best restaurant in New Orleans. Duck was stunning, atmosphere was elegant and service exquisite. I normally do not do dessert, but made an exception. Glad I did. Everything was devine. Can't wait to get back to NOL and to another meal at August.
A Gabrielli
Amazing! Had the tasting menu and absolutely loved each of the five courses. Chef John Besh is doing an incredible job. Service is very good. Five start experience - cannot go wrong!
James Beddoe
Around 20 colleagues and I had evening dinner in the private dinning room on the 2nd floor of the restaurant. The three course dinner was excellently prepared, with all guests really enjoying the evening - highly recommended and August were able to cater for halal and our dietary needs.
Grant Gonnerman
One of the best restaurants in the country, featuring wonderful seafood (like trout in a shockingly light hollandaise) and creatively tweaked game dishes. Truly outstanding staff willing to go the extra mile to make you comfortable. Also excellent for group events. Try the P&J oyster with ranch dressing and caviar.
Michael Robinson
I love bringing my out of town guests here. The food is excellent and bar service is top notch. We always stay much longer than we planned with the atmosphere being perfect. Much recommended to any out of town visitors.
Kevin R Kosar
This is a high end, white-table cloth restaurant. The dining room is opulent. The place strikes me as a superb venue for either a date or a power dinner. I sat in the cozy wine room, with bottles all about me. Both the wine and spirit selections are superb. During my visit, I also enjoyed sitting at the small barit seats six or sevenand sipping calvados. (Visited 1/11/2014)
Mark Lewis
A very nice restaurant. Good selections post Covid. Thoughtful offerings and well presented. The duck, the trout, and the steak are all excellent.
Jenn Schmidt
It was roasting hot inside, which turned me off. Food was over hyped. Asked for wine recommendations and they had to ask the bartender, a bit surprised for a higher end restaurant. I had to learn more about wine working at red lobster in college, than their staff.
Jay Forrest
my wife and i dined at restaurant august for our anniversary and had the degustation - which was absolutely spectacular in every respect. from complimentary amuse bouche to multiple desserts, every plate was carefully staged to enhance the experience. as the menu changes daily the details are always a surprise. go for it! you only live once and it is worth it! eat slowly and enjoy!
Mark Losset
Made reservation for lunch before catching Amtrak City of New Orleans home. Lunch at August is Friday only and a great way to wrap up a trip to New Orleans. The setting, atmosphere, staff, and food are all just perfect. On Fridays the fixed price menu gives a taste of all the courses for a great price.
michael rock
absolute perfection. i sat at the bar, alone, and had one of the best dining experiences of my life; i went back the next night with a date in the dining room and had the second best. everything was perfect, there's no reason to itemize. matt the bartender and their trio of cold foie gras presentations alone were worth the trip from New York
P Horn
Went for the second time were the Staff helped me propose to my future wife. The food was spot on, but nothing comes close to the customer service all four of us received. I can't thank the whole team there enough for being flexible and making the evening spectacular.
Craig Freeman
I think this is the best restaurant in America. Have yet to have a bad meal here. Top notch service. Amazing food. I'm a carnivore, but am routinely amazed by the vegetarian tasting menu.
Patrick Wynn
Tasty fare inspired by local specialities. Plates are small so you can actually have appetizers and mains. Main restaurant is terribly and sophisticated: doubt you can wander in with shorts and a T-shirt. Bar is a great option, but still not that casual.
Tom Warnock
We dined at August on Christmas Eve. Lovely space but lacks soul. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel like we did not belong there. The gentleman who greeted us at the reception desk literally looked down his nose at us. He looked as if he wished we weren't there at all (for the record, our appearance is "clean cut,"and we dressed appropriately ). When serving us most of the staff's attitude varied from an ingenuine obsequiousness to slightly pretentious from what we could hear, this also held true when serving everyone else dining there at the time. One exception was the sommelier and even she started off pretentiously but quickly changed once we told her we had just returned from Burgundy. She then switched to friendly and courteous, treating us as if we were knowledgeable about wine (which we are). Our waiter had an affable manner except when my adult daughter was trying to navigate the menu. Seeing she was clearly out of her depth and many of the items were unfamiliar to her he offered no assistance, just brief replies in one or two words. He might have pointed out to her that her choice of the raviolo was merely a single ravioli since that was the only thing that she ordered for her dinner.
As for the food, every item on the menu, although expertly prepared, consisted of an "over-the-top" combination of ingredients and preparation methods. If you like food as it is prepared at The French Laundry, you'll like the food at August. If you prefer the style of Chez Pannise, you won't.
Helena C
Wonderful meal in every way!! Will be recommending to friends for sure. Only dish not quite as thrilling was the pineapple souflee dessert. But it could also be because we were really full at that point.
HC Kwok
Walked in and ate at the bar. Excellent food, and cocktails. Not surprisingly, the price was high, but expected. The only thing annoying about the bar was that every time the door opened, we were hit with freezing gust of outside air.....I guess only a problem on rare occasions.
Steven Huang
This restaurant has become my new favorite restaurant, beating the previous Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, and also restaurants such as Daniel and Le Bernardin in NYC (by far).
Enjoyed the Foie Gras 3 ways and gnochi as starters. The raspberry jam blended very well with the foie gras, and the mousse was silky smooth and tasty. The mains we had were Porks and Trout. Both dishes were very well done. Trout with wild mushrooms, breaded and butter source. Pork were done three ways, loins steaks (soft and juicy), sausage and belly (light and silky).
The deserts were also great. Banana pudding was very flavorful and not too sweet, and the Souffle was perfectly done, which is rare even in good restaurant. Overall a very memorable experience.
Jeff Diamond
I'm sure dinner is fabulous, but come for lunch! Getting a three-course fixed price lunch for $20 ought to be a felony, because it feels like stealing. Everything is spectacular -- try something that sounds unfamiliar. The goat cheese cheesecake was a revelation.
Samuel Kopetti
One of the best restaurants in town!
Bruce Morgan
This place was right across from our hotel so we thought we would try it out. We were glad we did not only was the food amazing but the service was probably the best service I have ever had anywhere. We sat in the courtyard and it was so beautiful and romantic really had that French Quarter feel to it.
Sharon Jeffreys
My daughter, Stephanie, took me to dinner Fri. 01/18/2019. OMG !! This place is phenomenal !! The food is beyond good. No words. Robert was our server. What can I say? I actually felt like ROYALTY. Robert went above and beyond. If anyone from the restaurant reads these posts, PLEASE let him know, he made it a night this mother will never forget !! Thank you, Robert and thank you, Teb Raree !!!
Javid Aslanov
Truly the best restaurant experience had in New Orleans and one of the best in general. Fresh ingredients, unique fusion and top notch service! Definitely will come back
Stacy MK
Food was maybe the best I’ve had in New Orleans. Drinks were excellent. Service and presentation of food was excellent. I thought dinner was better than Brennan’s, GW Fins, and Galatoires.
Ross Moran
I have heard from Swing LifeWay that he has traveled the entire world, and he will come back to Restaurant August every time he comes back to New Orleans. He has tried restaurants all over the world, not the country, but all over the world, and he really enjoys Restuarant August. He is so right. More right than anybody had ever been left. So right....... soooooo right. Zeke really did serve us the best food I have had in all of New Orleans though. Regardless of how stupid this review is.
Adam Lipson
I confess.....I stopped in for desert after dinner at another top restaurant in New Orleans. Having tried several of John Besh's other restaurants, I had to try August.
We had the strawberry short cake. The strawberry short cake had none of the ingredients you would expect to find in a strawberry short cake with the exception of strawberries. I think I discovered heaven. It was, without a doubt, the best strawberry short cake that I ever had.
Matthew Taylor
Amazing food and service! Dessert was so good, we asked for a second round. Our wait staff was professional and fun. Highly recommend.
Will S
Fine upscale New Orleans classic John Besh restaurant. Great wine list. Expensive but the food is worth it. If visiting the city, this is one of the best, but if you lice here you already know it.
Dennis Merino
It is hard to get a reservation for Friday lunch in August, but when you get one, you are rewarded for your patience. Last Friday was a lucky day for me. Lunch started with local spring vegetables -- snap peas, asparagus, and other fresh vegetables with poached yard egg, ricotta cheese, and lamb bacon. The silkiness of the poached egg was a great contrast to the crispiness of the vegetables and also to the saltiness of the lamb bacon. This was a perfect summer dish - refreshing and light. Next course was a salad of heirloom tomatoes with quail eggs, crab meat ravigote and bacon. One tiny, tiny detail that they do in August and that I really love is that they peel the tomatoes. And for some unknown reason, peeled tomatoes taste so much better than unpeeled tomatoes. But I am sure that it has something to do with the freshness of the tomatoes, as well. Next course was pan roasted blackfish sitting on top of rice and peppered oyster jus. This was melt in your mouth fish. Even if you did not do anything special that week or even that month, this was your reward to yourself for being you. Dessert was lemon custard with pistachio and grilled peaches. Just another perfect meal. Just another lunch at August.
Mark Holmes
Excellent food, service, and quiet break from the French Quarter!
Tommy Haygood
decor bare. amuse-bouche the best anywhere! wife's beet salad amazing. my gnocchi the best i've had, & we just got back from eating it all over italy. foie 3 ways best cold foie anywhere. wife's duck great! my pork belly ok, but too much going on. napoleon, rum cake & pain perdu were great. servers well informed, attentive, but organization is odd. had someone different serve each dish. all knowledgeable, very nice, but evening felt impersonal.
Jason Gremillion
One of the best restaurants in NOLA. Great mix of traditional French and creole with other influences. Excellent bar to have a cocktail before dinner.
Preston Davenport
Absolutely spectacular experience. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. I have to admit it is one of the best tastings I have experienced.
John Svymbersky
Great food preparation, really attentive service. Sommelier was helpful and proactive.
Monserrat A.
Very impressive food as well as presentation. Glad we splurged. Do the tasting if you're feeling adventurous. If not any of the tastings can be turned into an entree.
Kimberly Ireton
Fine dining at its finest. Lunch was delicious and dessert was amazing
Sean
Very good food, but one of the dishes was heavy handed on the salt.
Service was very good.
fatboy SRK
It was a great experience. But, just not 100% my type of place. The food was very good, but just a bit overprice. It's high priced dinning, so you rarely get what you pay for; which isn't a value in and of itself.
Jerry Baker
Robert and Phi did a wonderful job. Dinner was excellent, service was 100%. Good to see Boris again. Will de f back on our New Orleans trip.
CARLOS F
Food was some of the best I ever had!! Some of the service was uneven, some servers were friendly and vivacious while others seemed to hope the shift would end. But over all wonderful
Julia Ross
This five star French restaurant near the French Quarter in New Orleans demonstrates an experience only found at August. The unique menu at Thanksgiving to the staff and uncompromising service will bring our family back again and again.
Shawn Moylan
Great atmosphere, food, and wine pairing. Service was excellent.
Dan Anderson
Have eaten here a couple of times. Great food in a really cool location. I was told it was an old carriage house. Great wine and drinks. Highly recommended...
Trisha Kremer
The service and food at August were stellar.
Pilar Metzler
The place is beautiful and the food is unique.
Natalie Cuda
Really cozy place. Food was really good. The flank wagu was cooked a little to rare for me but other than that we had a great meal. Excellent service
Stephanie Deonarain
Perfect. Perfect food, perfect service, perfect atmosphere. You won't be disappointed. We've been going here for a few years and August never fails to provide us with a wonderful experience.
Matthew Norris
This is hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to (and I've been to some great ones in L.A., Chicago, NYC, London, and Paris. I don't think my review can do it justice, but the food, service, and ambience are virtually perfect. It isn't cheap, but I've spent more and gotten far less many times before. If you're in the area I would make this a food destination non-negotiable.
Zac D
Quite simply one of the most elegant meals I have ever had. Service and food was perfect, I can't think of a single element that could have been improved.
Mel Wilson
Delicious cauliflower soup. Chocolate souffle is heavenly. Can't stop thinking about how perfect it was.
Gorgeous architecture in an intimate setting.
jean laubs
Amazing. Service was phenomenal. Food was to die for. Highly recommend! Will be back for sure!
Robert Nathenson
I am on a very low or no sodium diet, and having been informed of that, Chef Ingram prepared a magnificient 5 course tasting menu with appropriate wines that was truly the best I have had since being on my restrictive diet.
In fact the best I've had since 30 years ago at a 3 star in Reims, France.
The attentive but unatrusive service was greatly appreciated.
Onne again Chef, thank you for a wonderful expirience
Derrick Naukam
Exceptional service. Food was excellent. Price is high, but the restaurant is on of the best in NOLA. I especially enjoyed the octopus and crab bisque.
Brent Steineckert
Go for the gustation menu and pairings. Amazing.
Don Gilman
Sublime, awesome, the pinnacle of our dining during our trip. We'll be back.
Stephanie Nieto
My family and I love this place for an exquisite dining experience. The food is seasonal and the menu is very creative. You will love it!
TJB Nola
Phenomenal service, and outstanding plates. Everything is wonderful from the moment you sit down until the last bite of dessert. And you will definitely want desert.
Linda L.
Amazing food. Highly recommend. I had the red fish when I was there and it was truly the best. I am selective about food and I can say that this restaurant was one of the best I have ever been to, food was amazing.
D
Loved the pork with the carrot and pea purée. Very professional staff. Not one bad dish!!! Wonderful experience! Can't wait to come back!!!
John Veltri
this was by the far the best meal i have ever eaten, and i travel every week on an expense account, so this is glowing praise. the lamb three ways is to die for and the attention to detail on all dishes is something to behold
Aaron Anderson
One of the upper tier restaurants in NOLA. Nice intimate and refined setting. Probably better for couples or two couples rather than large groups.
Diane Clark
One of the best meals I have ever eaten!!! Fabulous wine list. Perfect night.
samantha brownson
Great food and service! Thank you
chris lietz
Visiting New Orleans, came here based on a friends recommendation. Started with some excellent fried oysters and gnocchi that was too mushy for my taste. Flounder entree with fennel on the side was also very good. Service was decent, but the experience is over priced for what you get.
Thomas Krajewski
This is a place that lives up to the cost of the meal. If you are going to eat here go all out and get the wine pairings with the predetermined meal. It will make your tummy pleased and longing to return
Bill Hollenback
We had a party of four. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful with our selections. The food was exquisite! We would highly recommend this for fine dining.
Gilles Hennenfent
Excellent food, quiet room on the 2nd floor great for private event.
Gem Jones
Beautiful meal, really wonderful staff.. Elise was such a pro. What a beautiful experience!
Andrew M
Went to August a few years ago. It was heaven in a bowl. I can not wait to go back in (Feb 2015). If you go, plan on food euphoria and dropping a two hundred dollars per person.
Sandra Park
Very formal dining. Restaurant created from an old warehouse so it has a lot of character. Not cheap but good food and a great experience.
Francesco Visin
Fancy restaurant with good food, but the portions are on the tiny side. The Wagyu meat is really spectacular though, so it's worth a visit to try it!
Brianna Cummins
Visited over the summer. The crawfish tarte, fried oysters, duck and lamb were all AMAZING
John Alex Hvidlykke
Top notch food, flawless service.
ibanez222jls
We missed John, but, was a wonderful experience :-) the food was fabulous and the staff i cannot say enough good about.. They are a team of people who take exquisite care of you, not just waiters and waitress' .. we will come again even if its a little pricey 108.00 for 2 no alcohol ... BUT, there is no price on the Quality of food and care you receive :-)..
muebles imagine

Noisy when there is a large group, which there was when we went last Friday. Service was mixed. Some staff better than others. There are better restaurant options with similar food styles.
John Ledford

Creative menu, luxe setting, and excellent execution and service. You'll spend some money here, but you will also get what you are paying for.
Matthew Weitz
all the hype of chef besh's recent publicity served as a let down to the overly fussy food; however, i experienced the best service ever in any restaurant.
john bradley
This is the real deal for foodies. While there are many O.G. restaurants in NOLA this one delivers on depth, freshness and new flavors
