My second trip to Annunciation, the first was years ago. I'm thrilled it's still here. Very solid food, incredibly amazing staff, good drinks and wine list. Anything fried was light, everything tasted great, meat was cooked perfectly. It's a very unique place, I will always stop here when I'm in this city.

Awesome ambiance! Very attentive matradie. Great back waiter!! Waiter was a bit disappointing..did not check on us often. Ordered wine when I ordered dinner, it came out half way through dinner. Wife asked for lemons in her water, it arrived after we finished eating. The softshell crab was very tasty but not crispy. Probably cooked at too low a temp. The drum was very tasty, but a bit tough. Probably cooked too long. We were almost through eating before the waiter asked how the food was.

The fried green tomatoes with mirliton and shrimp were exceptional. One of the best appetizers I have ever experienced. The soft shell crab Monica was also delicious, but it came with hair in it. The wait staff handled this extremely well and professionally. Would definitely return.

WOW. What a treat this little tucked away place is. Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Definitely not understaffed and it showed Fried Green tomatoes that were firm and not mushy like most Perfectly seasoned fried eggplant sticks with a nice dip, but I didn't get the confectioners sugar! Tender, fresh, tasty Oysters Rockefeller A crispy Avocado and crab salad that sat on a pleasant bed of chopped lettuce The veal Marsala was tender with a nice reduction and perfectly cooked mushrooms over linguini. Just the right portion. Finally one of the best Creme Brulee I have had with 2 slices of Banana under the sugar crust 😍 The wine list was extensive and well balanced Great job folks. Thank you. We will be back Returned a week later. Turtle was soup of the day. A little salty and too thick for me. Never had it before so not sure if that is how it should be. Had the Drum Yvonne which was excellent 👌 Back again for some more fried eggplant. The Godchaux salad was nice and tangy Tried the duck this time and very glad I did. WOW. Crispy leg with a nice glaze and nuts. The Breast was cooked well and the fat was nicely rendered.bcrispy skin through out. Served over wild rice

What do get when you cross Irene's Cuisine, Tommy's Cuisine and Galatoirs together? Annunciation! Between the back of the house and the front, you'll get the best of what made these icons popular! Great New Orleans food and the best service the city has to offer. Milton has a crew of chefs making dishes made from all three places. Wish he would put Dark Chocolate Pecan Pie back on the dessert menu! The menu is constantly offering different specials and seasonal cuisine. Love the Duck and the Fish plates! You'll be served by some of the best professionals in the city! Sam, Sergio, Val and Scott have been serving tourists and locals for over 30 years apiece! No need to go to the French Quarter for great food when you can get the same experience at Annunciation y'all! Ask Sam about the Veal St. Charles! Topped with crab, capers and Buerre Blanc sauce. YUMMY! It can get a bit loud if there is a rowdy table though. Acoustics could use improving.

This restaurant is absolutely AMAZING so much so I went back twice with my sister! The quality and freshness of the food is stellar and the service is personable and fun with elegance! I met the owner Kristen who is just lovely, warm and delightful! The staff is very knowledgeable and consistent with service! Annunciation is my new place to dine when I travel to NOLA!!

The ambiance was pleasant, the food was great and the service was awesome. After spending all week as part of a large group in New Orleans, it was a pleasant surprise to find ourselves at a place that accommodated us without any objections. The food was not only delicious, but very reasonably priced compared to similar offerings in nearby restaurants. The New York strip steak was well prepared and the desserts were delightful. Highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful meal there. Sergio and Little Sergio made us feel very welcome. Food was awesome. Tasted wonderful and very pretty presentation. Caroline made a great smoked pecan old fashion and sangria. Highly recommend it for any occasion.

The chicken and andouille sausage gumbo is delicious even though the roux isn't dark enough. Also enjoyed the pomme frites and toasted pecan old fashioned.

Nice, upscale without being pretentious. Good, varied food selection and nice craft cocktails. One of our group received fish instead of veal. We also ordered wine and arancini that never came. Although it didn't detract from the overall experience. Servers are overworked and understaffed in 2022...

First visit to this fine restaurant. Enjoyed every dish and all prepared beautifully. Chicken Rosarino is excellent. Pasta comes in separate dish and the shrimp etouffe was more tomato based than others but also excellent. My wife did not prefer the cold shrimp on the fried green tomatoes but ate it all Busy small place with great service. Wine selection is ok. Not overpriced and not huge.

We had reservations, and were seated and greeted for drinks promptly. Those came out quickly as did the apps we ordered along side them. The fried chicken and dumplings were delicious with a very unique take on the classic, the fried green tomatoes were good but not special. It took a long time to get our waiter back over to us to place an entree order (he did have a few large tables) but the food came quickly after we ordered. By far the pork shoulder was the table favorite, but nothing we ordered disappointed (drum, lamb, duck, pork). The bread pudding was good as well. The main reason for the 4 stars is we did order a gumbo we never got.

Carlos our server was great. Food was delicious. I had the pork shoulder and gumbo to start off. Both were delicious options. Dimly lit inside and not crowded. Every table had someone sitting at them but noise was not overwhelming.

Friendly service and great date night spot. The fried chicken and dumpling appetizer was spectacular and the beet salad was a perfect palate cleanser. The sauce on my husband’s fish entrée, so delicious I could have taken a bath in it.

Once all tables were full it was too loud to have a normal conversation. Bridal party screeching next to us caused a focus on the acoustics. The restaurant needs to look into noise damping.

First off the food was very good, but that’s where it ended for us. I took my wife here for a white table cloth dinner on Valentine’s Day and it was a let down. We had a reservation for 6pm and we’re sat at a high top bar table with no table cloth or even a candle lit, yet the main dining area only had two tables taken. The main area had a nice ambiance unlike the bar area where we were seated. Our waiter was okay, however he forgot to take our order, couldn’t remember the drink I had (unsweetened tea) and asked us if we wanted more bread when he never gave us bread to begin with. When he brought us our bread it was in a napkin with no basket or plates to eat it on. Last but not least was the table check from management. I watched the manager touch every table in the main dining area and not one in the bar. I think my wife said it best, we felt like second class citizens and for a $150 dinner I guess it was a let down. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment.

From the outside this is a very unassuming restaurant. You may have walked right by before and never stopped. If you enjoy outstanding food and wonderful, attentive service at a fair price...you should check out Annunciation

I generally pride myself on being easy to please. The service wasn't great - when I asked for recommendations he sounded like he didn't like any of the food. Turns out neither did I! The bar and drinks were great though. Give it a try if you've got a night to spare and low expectations, you might have a good experience! It's possible I just got a bad night.

April 23 2022 What a gem!!!! From the moment you walk in you are greeted as if you were visiting old friends! The food was superb as the cocktails, waitstaff professional, friendly..the atmosphere was comfortable and cozy...make your reservations you will not be disappointed!!

One of our best experiences this trip. Our server, Chris, was the best, great personality. My cocktail(Royal Sidecar) was delicious. The food Gulf Fish Capri (drum) was the best dish I've had this trip. Go there!!!

In a word, fantastic. Our server was hilarious and kept our entire table on its toes. Each new thing that came to the table was better than the last. I highly recommend the duck.

Was in town visiting and didn’t want to deal with crowds and high prices of the French quarter I scoured good and Yelp and found this place. Plus on a Saturday I was able to get a reservation. Street parking can be hard to find but there is a pay lot basically across the street. Walked in decor is warm and welcoming. We sat at a high top near the bar. Staff was friendly and the bar had a pretty good selection of scotch and bourbon. Appetizer- oysters Rockefeller were well received and hash brown Brussel sprouts were a unique take on the two items and pretty tasty. I also enjoyed their fresh bread. We had kids 6 and 9 and there is no kids menu I ordered the pasta primavera which they graciously split in 2 plates it was perfect. My wife had the crab avocado salad which was smaller but after apps and bread it was plenty. I had Veal Annunciation and it was seriously good the homemade pasta and the Alfredo sauce were as good as they get. I was so full but wanted to keep eating it was that good!

Man-o-man…. Slowest bartender service ever. Took 10 minutes before he took my drink order. I was the only person at the bar - one of only three in the entire restaurant. So bad that after I received appetizers, I ordered my entrée to go. Sad last dinner in New Orleans.

It was good. Staff was nice. Food was almost there, but just didn't quite hit for me. Felt a touch bland for a creole restaurant. To be fair I had eaten a huge amount of crawfish at lunch.

This was a wonderful surprise! My wife took me here for my birthday. The oyster appetizers with bacon was a scrumptious appetizer. I had the Softshell Crab with crawfish Monica sauce. It was seasoned perfectly - spicy enough but not too spicy! My wife had the grouper which was an excellent choice. For cocktails we had the blackberry rye and a sidecar. They were perfectly prepared and presented. Our wait staff and the maitre'd were all excellent. We will go again soon!

We had the pork shoulder for dinner and pecan pie for dessert. Both delicious, as was the bread that came out when we arrived. Fresh out of the oven, soft, and the butter was soft too - all perfect! Great service, lovely atmosphere, crisp white tablecloths, just all around a perfect dinner. I love this place! Coming straight back next time we’re in town.

Classy and well appointed restaurant with very attentive and professional service. The food was really exceptional in terms of taste, temperature, presentation and speed. We were extremely impressed with the service, despite there being a Valentine's day rush. The prices are competitive for the quality and we will certainly be finding out way back. The only drawback is that the city of New Orleans cares very little for the condition of the streets and we banged up our car on a huge pothole just outside of the front door of the restaurant. Make sure you hit this place if you're a foodie!

Whenever family comes to visit over the past 6 years, I try to take them to different restaurants. This has been the favorite so far. The Drum Yvonne and Gulf Fish of the Day were perfectly prepared. The bread pudding was delicious. All staff, from the bartender, to the hostess, to the waiter were wonderful, attentive and kind. This is will be my new go-to when friends and family come to visit, date nights and happy hour.

They are unable to split checks other than directly in 1/2. It seems crazy that in 2022 their Point of Sale system doesn't offer the ability to get checks correct. Note: we were a party of 4, with 2 couples wishing to pay respectively.

Dining room was nice and clean. As with most restaurants, the chairs were very uncomfortable. I wish I could go to a nice restaurant and sit comfortably but it just doesn't happen. Service was not speedy. Dining room was not crowded but It still took over fifteen minutes to get a drink from the bar. When we finally placed our order, the kitchen delivered our food in a timely manner. The excellence from the kitchen made up for the slow service. Every thing we ordered was beyond delicious. Even the mixed drink that took forever to get to my table was perfect.

Outstanding gumbo, great date night location. Fish was extremely fresh, the soft shell crab pasta was incredible and a huge portion. A bit off the tourist beaten path and in a cute neighborhood.

Food is very good but while the downstairs is nice and cozy, the upstairs dining room is very sterile and bland looking. Kind of let's eat and go experience. Also no menus, you have to scan your smart phone to see menu. Again, a very non inviting situation... Especially if you don't have a smart phone.. like us. Was given an out of date old menu server said he found which some items were no longer available. I guess if you have no smart phone you can't eat there?

I went to the restaurant one evening with my girlfriend . The service was amazing!! The staff greeted me with a smile. I had the pork shoulder it was delicious. My girlfriend had the filet and it was very tender and cooked to the correct temperature. Definitely when I’m back in town going to visit again . Also by the way, their signature cocktail list is awesome. Make sure you check that out !!

Restaurant inside was just pretty. Pretty wood and white table clothes with lots of mirrors. Nice place. The food was great and so was our waiter. He was working hard for the 2 tables we had in our group. I think everyone liked their food, I had seared gulf fish with greens and sweet potatoes.....it was so tasty! I forgot to tell you the artichoke heart appetizer was so good I ended up tricking my twin cousins when they turn their backs! So good!

Incredible food. Some of the best ever. Had the hash brown brussel sprouts, two different preparations of Drum fish and pecan pie/bananas foster bread pudding for dessert. Flavors were on point and incredible. Atmosphere very nice. Service terrific and very friendly. 5 stars was not enough.

Great service and food... a little concerned when we first arrived to a nearly empty restaurant, but our waiter patiently and honestly answered all questions about the entrees. Party of 7 had an enjoyable evening with good food and would return in the future. Table was a bit cramped for 7 but we managed without issue.

The food was good, we arrived at 7pm and the place was empty and filled up quickly... The wait staff was prompt. The appetizers were very good as was the entrees for the whole table of 7. We were in NOLA for a convention and we had so much choices... This little hole in the wall delivered for us. Nobody was disappointed. 2 had the Rainbow Trout, 2 the Shrimp Etouffee and 3 the Strip steak. The Appetizers were a mix of Oysters, Cauliflower and a few Brussels sprout shredded something... We cleaned all our plates and polished of a very good bottle of Chianti...

Tried this place because I had never been. I was pleased with the very nice gentleman that was hosting, Very upbeat guy. The server was good with recommendations. We had the chargrilled oysters with boudin and hollandaise sauce then crusted seared tuna with sweet potato hot sauce, then bread pudding with rum sauce. Stuff was phenomenal!!! I will be back when I'm NOLA. I was told that they have special happy hour specials as well for different days and times. Awesome food great staff 👍🏼

I had extremely high hopes for this choice of mine. We ordered the roasted duck and drum fish for entrees and the fried chicken and dumplings as our app. The app came out in a small bowl with exactly 4 gnocchi, 2 tomatoes, 2 carrots, and one chicken thigh. By the time you got past the strong garlic and onion in the dish it was halfway gone :(. The chicken was good with a slightly sweetened batter and fried perfectly. The roasted duck was delicious. With toasted pecans, sauteed spinach , and wild rice it was a filling meal. The raspberry sauce on top of it all gave it almost a salad essence that i really can't complain about. My friend had the drum fish and said it was great. It was just above being flakey and the veggies that accompanied it (sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and broccoli) were cooked perfectly.

A white tablecloth restaurant. Great options and the food choice is very good. Excellent cocktails and impressive booze list with super high level spirits, e.g. Pappy Van Winkle, 10, 12, 18, and 20 years. Expensive, but service and food quality is worth it. Check out the Goute Salad from the appetizers and any entree is excellent.

Our last night we where going to Cochon, which had a 45 min wait. We Google Drive restaurants near me, this place had great stars, so we went. All I can say is WOW!! Blew us away, we had the only table, Noone also here. The food exceeded our expectations and more. We had the best food of our whole trip. Mind you, we ate at alot of great places. This is our favorite. We ordered baked oysters, mussels and gumbo. There isn't very often I like each plate the same. I couldn't pick which one I liked more. All off the charts! Annunciation continues to be my favorite. Dined there four years ago. It was the best creole etuffe and cocktail was great. I returned last evening. I was not disappointed although I tried a different entree and cocktail. Both times I choose what the bartender recommended. And, he was spot on. It feels like a warm hospitable spot in New Orleans and always adds to my thorough enjoyment of city.

Giving this 3 stars is a stretch but the food was excellent. Unfortunately they were unshared under staffed due to a no show. This needed to be communicated earlier in the wait for our meal and why the manager didn't come in to help out is beyond me. This could be an excellent restaurant but with the obvious management issues I'm afraid it won't last too long in this competitive market.

I only post and review when I have REALLY enjoyed somewhere! Annunciation was one of the first places we ate when we arrived four years ago! The ambiance, food, hospitality and decor are to die for! Now this is OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GO!! We’ve become like family here. We first learned about this place from another guest at the hotel we always stay in. He suggested the go and check them out and we haven’t missed a beat since! I think I’ll tell my husband to take me for my 49th birthday this year! Tell the Maitré D we said hello!

In the crescent city one has many dining options. Food is amazing at every turn, however, Annunciation stood out for our seasoned group not only for fine cuisine but also as a special place to spend time with friends. I could not say enough about the staff and care that we felt from the entire Annunciation team. Some meals are remember forever and this was one.

WOW. Food was fantastic and the service was 5 star! We showed up unannounced with a group of 26 people and they were able to accommodate us for dinner. Every dish was fantastic.

Absolutely fantastic experience at ANNUNCIATION! The veal was butter-soft. The gulf fish (drum) was amazing with the add-n of crab. What a wonderful little place!

This somewhat new spot is nestled right in the heart of the New Orleans warehouse district which makes it a great spot to eat after cruising art galleries on Julia Street. This area also has a number of new great bars and dining spots making it a very desirable area of the city to dine in. The owner chef left one of the best spots in New Orleans to open this place and the food is solid in a nice dining room.

This restaurant has amazing food and a staff that is top notch. An important side story: My mother after dining here on July 24th for a wedding rehearsal party noticed her clutch purse missing. This was after Annunciation had closed for the evening. She panicked with the thought of all her credit cards, not a small amount of money, receipts and other miscellaneous stuff women shove in there. As it turns out someone found it in the downstairs bathroom and turned it in to the manager. Well, it took a return trip to New Orleans, {ps: I never mind going to N.O.] and low and behold , [after presenting identification] there was her purse with EVERYTHING still there. In this day and age, with media always reporting the bad stuff, all the time. It certainly is refreshing and uplifting to know that there are still honest folks around. Hat's Off to Annunciation and we will be returning to dine there, most definitely in the near future.

Nice place. The "large" dish I ordered wasn't "large" but it was good, though not worth the price. Everything, even the drink, about the place was over priced. Too bad because the food and the ambience is nice.
