This place was quite an exceptional experience. Service was wonderful. I was brought bowls of White Beans, Slaw, Sliced Sweet Onion, pickle slices and some of the Best Hush Puppies in memory, upon being seated. I ordered the 4 pieces of Catfish, which was perfectly prepared and served on a bed of delicious French Fries. A family at a table next to me was feasting on chicken and shrimp, which looked amazing. Great casual atmosphere.

We were in Nashville, TN last weekend for my oldest Daughter early birthday celebration. We went here on 9/16/22. I was a little worried as they closed at 9pm. We got there right at a little after 8pm. The staff was so welcoming, even though we had a party of 6. We ordered 3 fried shrimp dinners, catfish dinner, and a kids chicken tender meal. The food here was delicious. The white beans were seasoned so well, and the hush puppies I couldn't get enough of. Our server Stephanie F. did an outstanding job, thank you. If I'm ever back in the area I will make to come back again. I highly recommend Uncle Bud's.

Food was delicious, best fried oysters I have had even off the coast of Texas...amazing Cole slaw and hush puppies too. it was soon good we left nothing behind..and ordered a banana pudding to go. definitely will be back the next time we visit Nashville.

First to Uncle Bud’s as we were in Nashville for a few days. While waiting for a table,another customer explained the food we were about to eat. I told him I was not a fan of beans, but after sitting down and trying them, they were delicious. We were also served coleslaw, hush puppies and pickles. We all ordered the catfish filets. Nice breading, not greasy. The fries were also crispy, which I liked. The waitress was enjoyable to talk to, as it was our first time there. Will definitely return next time we are in town.

Loved taking the family here. There were a lot of people tonight but we got in pretty quickly even with a large family. The food is unbelievably good. Catfish, hush puppies. Perfect. Then to top it off, I was informed that the kids also would get popsicles from the freezer. Excellent 👌👌👌

After being seated our waitress welcomed us with hot hush puppies, Cole slaw and beans . All were delicious I then ordered the 4 piece catfish filets which were good along with the catfish and chicken combo. Everything was great very filling in addition to the xl Mason jars of your drink . And lastly it's all you can eat

On my way home I stopped at Uncle Bud’s for the catfish I’ve been craving. It was pretty good but I was surprised at how small the pieces were. The sides were all good. I ordered the peach cobbler for dessert and it was probably one of the WORST things I’ve ever tried to eat. Two bites and I pushed it away. I expected peaches with a crust (isn’t that what cobbler is??). It was like ground up mush with so much sugar in it that I could crunch the granules in my teeth. All the extra sugar didn’t help it any. 🤢. Tasted like it maybe had cinnamon in it too but I could be mistaken. It didn’t taste like peaches at all. It was beyond awful!! They wouldn’t take the $7.95 off the bill either. Yes, 8 bucks for ‘cobbler’ and a small cup of ice cream.

The catfish was really good. The oysters were overpriced but tasty. The frog legs were fresh and crispy. The clams were tough but the alligator bites chunky and seasoned well. The fries were so tasty. The beans are made with pork so unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy.

Pretty good fish. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated. They were very busy. Atmosphere was inviting and offered history of the founder. Ordered all you can eat and they kept us supplied very well. The beans were good. The hush puppies were not good. They were too heavy and bland. Slaw was delicious. Tables were sanitized after each use. It is a good experience for those looking for good country food in the city!

Uncle Bud's still has very good food after all these years. My wife and I started going to Uncle Buds more than 20 years ago when one location was in Smryna GA on Concord Rd. We also would go to a location in Chattanooga TN as well. It was such a surprise to know there was still a location that was still open. We thought all locations had closed. We ordered the seafood platter and it was huge and very good. The restaurant has nice space between tables and the customer service is still down home and friendly.

The servers are great, and the service is great. Food is always hot, fresh and gets to the table quickly. The servers are always attentive and knowledgeable, and able to answer any questions you may have about the menu, restaurant and more. The building that they have the restaurant set up in is unique. It has a homey feel that welcomes you and makes you feel comfortable. It would be even better if the building could be picked up and moved to another location with a view that was just as unique as the restaurant itself and the building. I only say that because the place has windows lining most the entire space so it obviously would be that much more amazing if it were set up in a different area rather than where it sits now...which unfortunately only alots for a view of the buildings around it, parking lots and roads... This doesn't count against it, as they certainly make up for this by keeping your attention indoors with their stunning service and food. My choice for giving it only 4stars was because the menu is lacking in choices for anyone who doesn't like seafood or the other "out of the ordinary" options on the menu. Also, their choice to serve some side items as an appetizer instead of the usual bread option you get at most other places is a great idea, however it would be nice to have some kind of choice between certain items instead of getting ones that you may not like, thus being wasteful. All in all, I plan on adding this place to the list of places we eat at regularly. I can't believe I put off trying it for so long, I was definitely missing out!!

They have changed ownership since I was there. Prices have gone way up like every where. I got the chicken livers. Never had them. They were good. Mainly because they were one of the cheaper items. My friend got the 4 piece catfish. 21.95 way over priced for the amount of fish. Pieces were small. Should have been an all you can eat price. They do have all you can eat on two days I think. Would be the best time to go. Don't live in the area and probably won't make a special trip there.

Have only had good experiences here. The wait staff are personable. The prices and portions aren't bad and the food quality is pretty good and consistent. They have bottomless sides for the table to enjoy. Not many dessert choices. The parties that I have dined with enjoyed the catfish, fries, white beans, hushpuppies and coleslaw. They also have frog legs, jambalaya, gumbo, clams, chicken livers and more. The decor is fun.

Get there early for the hottest catfish, chicken and such! They offer up complimentary white beans, hush puppies and sliced onions while you wait. They also serve a lot of iced tea! Great servers! Don’t forget to ask for lemon slices. We love the wooden chairs, tables and drapes!

You can't go wrong here. The catfish is delicious. The chicken is good but the catfish takes top billing. White beans,hushpuppies, and coleslaw all seasoned to perfection. Ice cold sweet tea to wash it down! If you don't leave full, you did it wrong!

It was very good, especially the fish and the shrimp. My husband and I took our 9 year old and 7 year old boys who also really like it. My one critique is that the hush puppies were not as good as they had been the last times we were there. They were a bit under cooked inside, but it could have just been an off day.

The food and service here deserves 4 stars but I gave them 3 stars for the price. There's no reason it should cost $20 for a plate with 2 pieces of catfish, French fries, and 2 hush puppies. The coleslaw isn't the best I've had. Could of gone without the onions and pickles too. I spent $60 for 3 plates and that's before the tip. I expect that price for a ribeye, loaded baked potato, with a side of a veggie. Not deep-fried catfish and cornmeal.

I use to work for Uncle Buds in Rivergate years ago. I was one of the top servers. I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The food was amazing our server was sweet, but took a while to place our order and she was kind of all over the place, but her sweet personality made it a great dinner experience. The catfish was cooked to perfection. All the Fixins were soo soo yummy. The fried chicken had great flavor and a nice crisp. We will be back for sure.

Service was good. Although Uncle Bud's is not like it used to be. The beans were watery, and the coleslaw recipe seems to have changed. This look location is always so crowded and it looks to be tables close together, and packed in to receive customers.

Flavor: A Service: A+ Tea: A+ Solo dining: A Way more than your typical catfish place! Hand-breaded catfish fillets, chicken tenders, and fried chicken along with some other Cajun favorites. Everything we had was fresh and flavorful, including all of the sauces and fixins that come with your meal. We were continually checked on, even by staff other than our waitress. They say the customer is #1 at Uncle Bud's and I definitely felt it.

Great place for slow or fast paced eating at an all you can eat place.Brought back memories of family sunday meals, when it was previously owned like a fast food chain. Uncle Buds is our go to restaurant when in town. We decided to order out today and enjoy sharing with family. We ordered a family fish and the normal set ups. When we arrived at the home we were visiting, we had the family fish and enough sides for 1 person. Why would do this? You get unlimited in house! Have you ever tried dividing small containers of beans and cole slaw, 6 French fries, 2 hush puppies, a stingy order of onion slices and 1 pickle between 3+ people? Our total was about the same as it is when we eat in house! They need more details on their website order page definitely. The fish and my one hush puppy were good. Disappointed, embarrassed and a little angry.

Took my mom there for lunch We haven't been to an Uncle Bud's in years since the one closed in Smyrna,TN I can truly say that Uncle Buds is THE BEST country restaurant in Nashville.If you want that Real southern homecooked style food come eat at Uncle Bud's and for the value it was unbelievable we got 2 huge dinners with 5 or 6 endless sides included in our meals, They had white beans coastlaw French fries biscuits and gravy and hush puppies and pickles those are the side Is better included in every meal drinks were large mason jar cups and a dessert all for 28.00, I've been to Paula Dean's restaurant and me and my mom was um was $65 you didn't even get to take anything home Cracker Barrel for $40 you can eat there And their food is always a hidden mess sometimes the food it's the food is cold it has a stale taste there's no flavor but at Bud's Everything was incredibly fresh the service was so amazing too and fast with Is this restaurant will be a staple with my family for our outing dinner nights:)

I went to Nashville,TN with a Friend of mines for his Birthday. We stayed a couple of Days and we went to Uncle Bud's Catfish, Chicken for a late Lunch Today before we left going back Home. It's been about 15yrs since the last time that I ate there. Now let Me tell U, Maaan... I am not kidding everything Tasted the same, no I would really say EVERYTHING was great and I mean EVERYTHING!!! Not a disappointment @ all. The Customer Service and Hospitality was on point. Can't wait to go back. It's just stunning to Me how after 15yrs that Food is just as good as it was the first time that I ate it. Again, Thanks for the Great Food, Service and Hospitality. I just Hated that I didn't get a Meal to bring back Home with Me, Lol😆 but 4real tho!!! BTW, The Employees were wearing T-Shirts that said Who's ur Uncle and I say Uncle Bud!!!!😁 Keep up the Good Work!!!

This was my first time visiting here. It was packed, However the waitresses were nice and accomadating. Now Heres the good stuff (Food lol) Amazing you get all you can eat fixings which are pickles, sweet onions, white beans, hush puppies, fries and coleslaw. I love their coleslaw it has more of a sweet taste instead of tangy. The all you can eat Chicken comes with your choice of white or dark. I chose white so it came with Two breaks and a wing or vice versa. Now you can't watch that much in one setting however for 12.74 plus tax on a Sunday I was able to share with my 15 yr old son and box home a fresh batch. My niece ordered the seafood platter with fried clams, oysters, cat fish, and she was able to eat on it for dinner and alittle the next morning. You absolutely get more than you bargain. So don't order too big, I would suggest a variety spread for everyone. Then get there early because you can not make reservations . It's clean and today. The only complaint are some of the flies from outside get in . But that's the south for you. You will not regret and I can't wait to go back!. Make sure you bring enough to Tio. They work really hard to ensure we had a great experience and even gave the kids icecream of choice.

Whole Catfish was incredibly excellent.👍🏼👍🏼 I grew up eating in that way & very few places even have it available. Yes that have catfish fillets, good fries, great veggie options & coleslaw. The staff checks on you often. I was there at a peak time on Saturday & the staff did a good job, not fast but they never stopped moving.

We used Uncle Buds catering service for our wedding. 100/100 recommend the use of their services to any catering event you may have. The team came out, and deliver such a stress free service for the bride and the groom. The guest raved about the food, Going for multiple plates of food that was available. I know in most wedding the food isn’t that great, but Uncle Buds delivered just an amazing service nothing could top them. Freshly cooked on site, and buffet style delivery to guest, nothing could have been more perfect… so if your looking to drop money on food for any event and want it to be good for your guest along with having exceptional service 10/10 recommend Uncle Buds.

I made 2 visits after a friend highly recommended the chix here. My first visit, I got the fried chicken dinner (3 pieces, french fries, white beans, hush puppies, cole slaw, pickles, & onions). For $8.95, they give you a bunch of food so its great value, but the chicken was not very flavorful and just okay to me. The place stays packed so gave it another try thinking I went on a bad day. On my second visit, I had the all you can eat catfish fillets. No change. Just okay! There was a prior mention of a previous Mgmt change so maybe this has affected their food quality. I would like to try the gator b/c very few places in Nashville have it on menu, but considering the competing options putting out great chicken and fish a 3rd visit is not likely. Note, the servce was fast and friendly.

Uncle Bud's... What can I say? If you like a country-style, catfish and chicken place, then this is it. The staff are the courteous, humble people you would expect and the fried fish and chicken is the comfort food you would expect. The sides are divine and you get to drink your beverages out of a large mason jar. It is, most excellent. The wait can be long on certain nights and times of the week, but it's worth it. Their food is so good, it retains the flavor and quality after it's been sitting for extended periods of time. Let me explain. On multiple occasions, I have had a carry-out tray awaiting me when I got home from work. We're talking sitting at room temperature for at LEAST a few hours. Even not reheated, it tasted great. The fish, the chicken, the slaw, the beans... all still fantastic. Not much food in general can stake a claim like that. All you can eat nights (chicken pieces/tenders or catfish) are Thursdays and Sundays, if I remember correctly. You can even make reservations through yelp. And no matter the party size, they're always accommodating. If you're in the Nashville area, it's worth the trip. Bring your appetite.

Outstanding! So we stopped here as was rated on one app as second best in Nashville (think the 1st best was a fancy place 😎) we waited a few minutes for a table, place was packed. All the food was good and you get plenty of it; and you can ask for a to-go container if you cannot eat all of it. The only thing that was not as expected was the peach cobbler. It was the consistency of bread pudding instead of cobbler but the flavor was good. If you're looking for a laid back place to eat with your family check out Uncle Bud's. Here is a description of the service and what we thought of the food. The cashier and the server we're friendly. We almost left after entering. Their we're two heavy set African American girls that ignored us. We we're right in front of them waiting to be seated. Even when when they finally went to seat us they lacked any professional customer service. Not even looking in our direction. Very strange behavior. As far as the food goes it was ok overall. The sides we're good, but the chicken tasted fishy. Our chicken must've been used in the same oil that the fish was cooked in.

First, I want to say Janelle is the sweetest and most professional server I have encountered in a week. I went for the All you can eat Chicken. Wow, the chicken was awesome. I got 2 big plate fulls. Before I got my chicken they brought me white beans and hush puppies and I almost couldn't believe how flavorful they were... the southern charm and hospitality of Justin, the manager, was unexpected. My whole experience was unbelievable. I suggest getting there early though, because the line was a 40 minute wait, but with this food quality and quantity you won't mind. A must dine experience!

UPDATE: not sure what happened here but 4 years later- such a disappointment. They have done away with the all you can eat combo- one of the best reasons for stopping there. And their prices are insanely high. The chicken today was beyond dry. Like completely devoid of any moisture. There is almost nothing worse than dry fried chicken. Service was lacking. When you have to sit for almost 10 min before being acknowledged and they aren’t that busy- someone needs to pay attention to their service area. We WERE regulars driving 90 min just for the food. But the recent changes they implemented just isn’t worth the drive nor the price tag they ask for dry food. I hope they make more changes and get back where they were. Otherwise this will be listed as once a contender who is now an also ran. Honestly- I have had way better food and service from Cracker Barrel at a better price. Super Disappointed. Great food. All you can eat delivers everything you want and more

Tried this place for the first time today. I got the fish and shrimp meal with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw is too creamy for my liking and the hush puppies are were fried too hard, almost inedible. Good flavor though. The shrimp and fish were definitely the stars. Very tasty. And the fries were good as well. The creole sauce was pretty good. I expected it to be spicier but still very good. The peach cobbler was tasty as well. I will definitely return but ask for the fish and shrimp to be fried hard because they were a little too soft for my liking but I’ll definitely be back. And the customer service was great!

This place has really improved since the first times we ate there a couple years back. They have been cooking the catfish to perfection and serving it hot along with all the sides. Our server ( Sherrelle Simmons) treated us like VIP. She was EXCELLENT. The fish is so good and before you finish they are bringing out more. We didn't run out of anything ( fish, slaw, hush puppies, fries and white beans). If you are in Nashville, please try this place, you won't be disappointed. If you happen to get Sherrelle as your server, you have hit a gold mine.

I said no lemon in my tea & it had lemon. I ate the last half of my meal with nothing to drink. I was told my gift card had expired by cashier. I have not eaten at Uncle Buds in 30 years last one was on Stewart Ferry pike back in the 90's we had to wait about an hour for a table because we had a group needless to say we had a great time great food a great waitress and some of the best catfish and hush puppies they were golden brown not over cooked or under cooked some of these restaurants that cooks catfish can really learn from them. Thank you to the manager and team that put up with us last night Sept. 4th 2020. While still keeping social distancing and wearing mask it was amazing time. Uncle Bud's is a restaurant I am so glad has survived 2020. It is known for the wonderful fried fish which is consistently tasty. I am glad to say I found their fried chicken livers really delicious. The fish is great. The problem is this place is so small, parking lot and all. The employees are super nice and sweet. The wait time is CRAZY. We got there at 2:00, but were not seated until after 4. Then they knew we had 3 babies who needed high chairs. They still seat us in a section that they said couldn't have highchairs. So you either take that and really not have room are wait another hour with 5 kids. Like i said though the fish was fresh and good.

Well...my wife and I got to experience Uncle Buds today. I didn't get in the first time but today there was plenty of room. I love the atmosphere and the decor. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable of all the foods and specials. She brought out beans and hush puppies along with Cole slaw and fixins'. The hush puppies we agreed were some of the best we've ever had. Although this establishment is known for their fried chicken and fish I opted for the livers. Awesome choice. We DoorDashed Uncle buds because we were craving chicken tenders and their prices are way better than anyone else. They also had great reviews! Oh my gosh we were not disappointed. Chicken was great as well as the numerous sides you get for $10! I barely ate half! Then when we look up their website and realize dine in is all you can eat?!? We will definitely be visiting once corona is over. We were sad to not have received our banana pudding (which very likely could have been a delivery driver issue). I ordered the 3 piece filet, but should have gotten the AYCE. Delicious fish. Husband got the gator tail and frog legs and he really enjoyed them! Kids got chicken fingers and they were good too. They also had a homemade roll and there was syrup on the table to eat with them. All waitresses seem so nice and helpful. She never let us run out of anything

Due to Covid, Prices have gone up. I order the 5pc chicken tenders , Food was luke warm, beans were overly salty, gravy was forgotten and was cold when it arrived. Hushpuppys were extra oily and non eatable. Skip the mild/wild sauce I think it's vinegar based. Didn't like it at all. I think they are experimenting with pickling their own pickles. Overall , not the quality they usually produce. I will still go back again.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE, 1st off the wait for the table was not that long so we can move on, the wait for the food was pretty average waiting time. The food itself was subpar to be honest it really could have been better then what I anticipated. The tea was not sweet, the fries weren't seasoned. My wife says our waitress was actually pretty good. I however think that she was personable but I just think she may have been overwhelmed with the number of people that she was waiting on. So overall on a scale from 1 to 10, I give this place a 6 and a 1/2.

The first thing I noticed while looking online was that they had all you can eat catfish and fried chicken. So of course I had to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. The white beans were the best I've ever had and the chicken and catfish were amazing. We are from Michigan and wanted to eat some southern fish fry while in Tennessee. We googled fish fry and discovered uncle buds. We were shocked how perfect the catfish was and being from the land of lakes we know our catfish. It was light and not greasy. The all you can eat "fixings" hit the spot for sure! Wow go early this place is popular on Friday nights. We went at 430pm and just barely got a table. Hush puppies are outstanding so is Cole slaw etc. The catfish was too fishy for me but the shrimp was good. The fried oysters looked great. The clam strips were good and the person who got fried chicken loved it. The peach cobbler was delicious. I'll definitely be back

I went to dinner here last night (I'm a regular) and there was a new waitress named Dani. She was training a new girl and being shadowed by her. I ordered a seafood feast and a side order of fried okra. After about 10 minutes after I received my order I asked where is my okra order? She said she was sorry but she thought I said fried chicken livers. So to make a long story short she got my okra order and when I got home there was an order of chicken livers in with the okra. It was delicious! Thank you Dani for being a great waitress. I hope you get a raise for your good work!

Uncle Bud's is a family favorite. The food is good but the staff is truly wonderful. A manager always checks in with us; the waitstaff is attentive, friendly and go above and beyond to ensure our visit is pleasant. A plus is that they have so many options (frog legs, gator tail, fish, country fried steak, chicken, livers, etc.). Truthfully, I've not had anything there I would not order again. The staff was very nice and attentive, although my server did make a few accidental mistakes. The fish was alright, although not as good as others were making it out to be. Best Chicken LIVERS I ever had. Yes, this place is known for their fried fish and fried chicken. I've had both and agree they are great; however, a little unknown secret is their chicken liver dinner. You get a full pound with all the fixings for under ten bucks. I haven't found better anywhere!!!

The servers seemed extremely lax and unmotivated. I also witnessed two workers outside smoking and when they came back in neither of them washed their hands. Great Southern Food! Some of the best beans, catfish and sweet tea I've ever had. They also had good fried oysters and clam strips. Visited Nashville for a wedding and wanted to try something local. Searched around google and on a whim chose Uncle Buds and holy cow, I wasn't disappointed. It was so good that I told the rest of the wedding party and we came back for a 2nd night in a row. I recommend the bayou platter and they were on the fence about aligator and frog legs but I convinced the Washingtonians to give it a go and they were thoroughly impressed. The whole vibe of the place just makes you feel at home. Uncle Buds will forever will be on our list of places to visit when in Nashville and well worth it.

This place needs to go nationwide. The all you can eat catfish and fried chicken for 15.95 with all the fixings is a steal of a deal. This includes hush puppies, coleslaw, pickles, and white beans. Which have to be on the table within one minute of you being seated, very impressive. As for the main course the catfish was flakey and not fishy at all cook perfect all 7 pieces that I ate. As for the chicken tenders they where just as good tender and juicy not over cooked. The wedge fries were also good. If you are in the Nashville area this place is a must eat. The food is great, the price is right, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The only draw back is, it's so good you might have to wait to be seated.

We're from GA. Whenever we're in Nashville, we always try to stop in for catfish. Uncle Buds used to have a restaurant in Smyrna, GA. a few years back. We used them to cater our family reunions a couple of times. We were heartbroken when they closed. A family member in Nashville told us about the restaurant there, and yes, it's the same. This last visit was a little ruff. It was busy at time, however, they must had been short staffed. We waited for along while. My sister is on oxygen, and her portable tank ran out. She's ok, as long as she's not moving around. I refused to leave, as we had been there waiting so long. They had empty tables, but it took them a while to get 'em cleaned. Once we were seated, our orders were taken and the food was excellent! Not sure what happened with our waiter. The owner came over and we asked him for more beans and slaw..Whenever we're in the Nashville area, we will come in for dinner. Two thumbs up!!!🤗😀😋

The wait staff always does a great job bringing out the unlimited fixin's (fries,coleslaw, hush puppies,beans, and pickles). And the catfish here is almost always cooked well. The only issue to my experiences is the quality of the food changes semi drastic. Sometimes the chicken tenders will not be cooked enough or the coleslaw will taste tangier. Overall though, I keep coming back because I leave full and the generous amounts of the unlimited fixin's.

I like uncle buds for their fried chicken & fried catfish! Its been around for a long time & they used to have a location off white bridge pike. They offer all u can eat catfish on Tuesdays & all u eat fried chicken on Sundays. There is usually a wait during afternoons during the week weekends but its cool during the weekdays.

We ordered Uncle Bud's by phone to pick up a huge family dinner for Mother's Day. It was absolutely delicious! We had fish and chicken tenders and alot of sides that fed a large family and had leftovers for the next day. Pickup was done in a safe manner (due to covid) and everyone inside was super nice. My work mates an I enjoy going here for the all you can eat chicken tenders. The tenders themselves are moist, tender and flavorful. The potato wedges are also very good, I normally get a second ballet of them before calling it quits. Each meal comes with "fix'ns" which consists of hush puppies, white beans and onion slices. The staff are quick and service is pretty good given the number of patrons.

This will always be one of my favorite places in Tennessee. They serve drinks in mason jars which is just adorable. And as soon as we sat down they brought us out some sides to eat and gave us menus. The all you can eat catfish was amazing and the gator was incredible. Our server's name was Paula and she was on top of her job. And really cute. Definitely a great place to go for down home cooking. The atmosphere was very welcoming and they had a lot of funny things on the wall and ceiling. I can't wait to go back.

My family and I came here for dinner. Our waiter was nice. But gosh it seems like they really over react about. Taking food home. As much money as we spent. We should have been able to take home our food. I wanted the fixins. The waitress said she could not bring them to the table. I have to ask myself is it really worth it? Come here often passing through town I love to take my mother out here. Sunday is all you can eat chicken. This past Sunday's visit although was little different because of our waitress. She was a little difficult when asking to pack up our leftovers. She was very adamant about taking our leftovers that I had already paid for packing up and leaving in the front by the register like we were going to steal the food. This actually made me feel very uncomfortable.

Always love this place! Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, excellent food from chicken (including super tasty strips for my picky kids), catfish, with AYCE options for both of those, to bayou options like gator tail, frog legs, and crawfish. Sweet tea is fresh and not too sugary, and the unlimited "fixins" (beans, slaw, and hushpuppies, with the sweetest onions I've ever had, and pickle spears) are great, but don't eat too much of that or you won't finish your supper! They say "If you leave hungry, it's your fault," and that's no joke! Prices are fair and the food is great- we'll keep coming back.

I'm sorry to say I wasn't very impressed. I think that mainly came down to a lack of "expectation management" on my part. I ordered the 2-piece plate (which everything comes with unlimited sides) expecting some good-sized fish. Nope. Got two pieces roughly the size of small TV remotes. I had to have my order changed to the "all-you-can-eat" version to get enough fish to feel like it was a meal. Now back home in Texas, I can go to the gas station near my job, for two pieces of catfish. Each piece 2-3 times the size of what I was served her, tasting just as good, for half the price of the 2-piece plate. The food was good but my expectations were higher than what I received.

I like eating here. The prices are great, food quantity is great, and the food is always hot and fresh. They have all-you-can eat specials on certain days. Employees are super friendly, service oriented and take care of you like you're home. I'm an native Nashvillian, but I still like that the vibe is true Nashville country. Southern cooking at its best. Upon being seated they bring you navy beans, cole slaw, hush puppies, slices of onion and pickles. They are known for fried chicken and catfish, which are delicious. Drinks are served in mason jars. I've been a number of times and have always enjoyed everything and never left wanting more.

My first time in Nashville, celebrating my 30th bday and last big meal of the trip. After my flight back to DFW got cancelled, leaving my husband and I stranded until the next afternoon, and worried about getting home to OKC (major flooding troubles over the weekend), we needed one last decent meal. Luckily, our airline booked us a room and we were given several food vouchers. The manager at Uncle Bubs had no problem accepting them as payment and told us to come on down 40 minutes before closing. Our server, Katherine, was so excellent and attentive. She’s also bilingual! Smart girl! Random fact. The food was incredibly delicious and I ate until I hurt. TOTALLY WORTH IT! I’d do it all over again. I’ve worked in the food/beverage SI for 15 years and they’ve got customer service on lock! Very hospitable. They helped make our stressful day a lot less of a hot mess. I could literally live off those hush puppies if my health wasn’t a priority. Kudos to whoever is in charge there! I’ll be back.

Stellar review. Went to this place with two buddies for the first time today and we are absolutely stuffed. I am on the verge of puking from overeating whilst typing this review. I had the catfish and tenders and the amount of flavor and flakiness of the batterwas absolutely divine. The fixins were great too, e especially love the coleslaw and it stood out along with the hush puppies (which are huge by the way). I would definitely eat here again.

This was my first had family from out of town visiting. We were looking for a place that had fried oysters. The food and service was great. I’ll give the place 4 stars because the fish is sooooooo good and this place is the only place that’ll get me to eat coleslaw... and the hush puppies are amazing. The only downfall is that each time i eat here i get sick, not sure if the grease is changed like it’s supposed to but it makes me sick, so unfortunately I wont be returning no real fault to the restaurant.

Great place for fried catfish. I had fried catfish and my husband had a combo of catfish and fried shrimp. Both were delicious. You are greeted with hush puppies, coleslaw and white beans. If we ever travel through Nashville again, it is a must.

It was good. I ordered the bayou platter which used to be called the swamp bucket. It has catfish, frog legs, and alligator tail meat chunks. All fried. It just wasn't quite as good as I remembered it being a few years ago. My wife ordered the frog legs and her order was cooked a little better than mine.

We ate at Uncle Buds for the first time since the one on Harding Place near I 24 closed. We ate at the Donelson Plaza store. The food was just as good as we remembered it to be. Nicole was a very good server and we truly enjoyed our food. Thank you for a very good meal!!
