Our food was expensive but very good. We had a wonderful meal and our waiter was very friendly without being invasive/overbearing for our meal. We enjoyed people watching during our meal as people on the street walked by. It was nice and quiet inside while at the same time still feeling trendy and fun. The staff made my husband a really nice birthday card and put a candle in his dessert too. If you want a fancy meal for a nice occasion here’s a go to spot in Nashville!

Despite a few tired and grumpy employees having to adjust and cheer up, the food is wonderful and made to order with or without seasonings, butter, or oil. The building is beautiful, 25 feet of floor to rooftop glass walls on three sides. The bar is enormous and able to accommodate a lot of seated people. Modern marble and leather seating, low light ambiance, make The River House a must eat.

This was my first time dining here. It’s been a while since I’ve gone, but trust me it want be my last. Everything was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend the oyster Rockefeller they are mouth watering good. And don’t get me started on the Wagyu steak!!!! Words can’t describe that taste.

Brunch was awesome! We sat at the Bar. WE Shared the Salmon Flat Bread with Capers. The Eggs Benedict with Crab & traditional we're outstanding. Old Fashioned & Bloody Mary were delicious. The River House is lucky to have Sydney the bar tender. Supper sweet & personable.

This is a nice place. Good service and all. But a stern warning for people who are from food cities like Chicago, NYC, etc….. the food just isn’t good for what you’re paying. I’ve been repeatedly fooled by these Nashville steakhouses— but this one was probably the worst. Again, the place is nice and all. But we walked out wishing we cooked a steak at home . That should never happen at a place this expensive.

Excellent pan seared Chilean sea bass. Just right. Very fresh. Not salty. Excellent hot tea. We had. Oolong, rose, and chai. All excellent. Lobster tail was well done. Excellent service. Sautéed mushroom was fragrant with wine. Did not like the corn soufflé. Cream spinach was good. Would come again and again.

Wow! What a dinning experience! The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful with excellent wait staff and service. The food was fantastic with filets that you don't need a knife to cut that then melt like butter on your tongue. I had the NY strip and it was absolutely cooked to perfection. Good wines too, and a very impressive bourbon selection.

We visited The River House for our 2nd anniversary recently. Top to bottom we enjoyed our experience. (For those concerned about the dress code--I did see someone in jeans and a hoodie so *shrug*.) I had the Hong Kong seabass and it was fabulous. The whipped potatoes were wonderful. Friendly server who wasn't suffocating. We'd love to return.

Very good steak and wine selections. I was disappointed with the sides - broccolini instead of broccoli. Smells so good in there. But seriously, $50 for a steak but no bread with it?

Are you looking for an amazing and 5 star experience? What about quality tasting food? How about top notch customer service and hospitality? Do you wish to ask questions about the food menu? Then look no further, you've found the place to be. If you are looking to bring your date or spouse, they surely will not be disappointed. In fact, they will both be surprised and in awe at how amazing this place is. I've been to some amazing food places in Nashville but this restaurant really sits at the top of the food places, I'll say. Our server, Colton was knowledgeable, pleasant, professional, and friendly. There is not much more you can have coming to this place. I highly recommend bringing your loved ones and friends here.

This was my second time at The River House and I've really come to love this place. Sushi appetizers are amazing - get the Butter Crab Roll! I've had the Wagyu filet before and recently got the Hong Kong Sea bass, both are outstanding! Staff is very professional and educated on the food & wine. The Pineapple Martinis are a trademark drink, but be careful, they go down super easy and pack quite a punch! This was an Anniversary Dinner and I mentioned that when I made the reservation online. I didn't expect anything to come of it, but our server wished us a happy anniversary and then the host gave us a card, signed by the staff! That was a really nice touch to top of a great experience!

Celebrated my daughters 21st birthday here. It was an amazing experience. Great atmosphere and the food was impeccable! Dan was our waitor and did an exceptional job. My daughter got home only to find a birthday card signed by all the staff. This place is a must in Nashville!

Just ok. - Service was ⭐️⭐️ : server was not attentive or engaged with us. Even tho we order pretty much everything on the mani. Had to ask for share plates every course we had. Last she was told about out birthday guest and yet she did not put a candle in a dessert out of all the desserts we ordered. She did not even apologize later. - Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ : Shellfish platter was delicious. Everything else was just ok KT bland (we pretty much ordered everything on menu)

The River House is just a stone's throw away from Nashville’s Broadway, but this is another world. The River House is a sophisticated place. Jazz music is played in the background, staff is formally dressed, people speak in hushed tones. Food is good. Not spectacular or incredibly creative, but absolutely good. Service is great. There are no doubt cheaper options in this part of town, but it’s a pleaure to have lunch or dinner at The River House.

Made a last minute reservation for a birthday dinner, and it couldn’t have been better. Our food was spectacular. We had the filet mignon, loaded whipped potatoes, corn soufflé, and the cinnamon bread pudding. We ate every morsel. Larkin was our server and he was fantastic. He provided great recommendations and made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be returning!

Brunch here is fantastic! All the favorites and then some! And they serve brunch on Saturday AND Sunday! You must get the mimosa and Bloody Mary bar with the sugar bacon 🤤

One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time! My girlfriend and I went here for Easter brunch and every course was exceptional. For starters we ordered half a dozen butter roasted oysters that were some of the best we’ve ever had, and we split the wedge salad that was crisp, fresh, and full of great flavors. For entrees we ordered the meatloaf and fish of the day (halibut) that were both incredible. We then split the amazing carrot cake that was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. The service was also attentive and excellent. We were seated in the upper dining area where we could take in the elegant aesthetic of the whole restaurant. Overall I think River House stands out by offering classic dishes served in representative fashion. We will definitely be back soon!

Wish we knew about this place before our vaca! We stopped at the bar for a drink before our res at another restaurant, got an app & champagne but the menu was very tempting! Had a nice relaxing experience this place is super sophisticated. I don’t usually write reviews either but we looked the place up to see reviews and since there wasn’t too many I felt it was needed! Impressed with how well dress code is respected here too. Classy vibe def would come back!

Tasty. The Caesar salad was one of the best. The Chilean sea bass was succulent and nicely flavored (if you like garlic). Cocktails were excellent. Wait staff was a little stiff and formal, not my new best friend, but efficient. Ambience was good. It felt like restaurants pre-covid, except the spacing was safer. The noise level was great. Often I find the mood music is overpowering and I'm hoarse by the end of the evening. Not so here, in spite of the fact that it's basically in the woo woo section of Broadway. Pricey. Over $100 per person $225.

Dinner after Saturday TPAC matinee. Valet parking was a breeze and as you enter, the impressive bar to the left, dining areas throughout..banquettes, tables, upstairs dining.. the interior ..linear & curves..an elegant yet cozy vibe. The 5 of us started with cocktails and my Bourbon basil was a home run. Starters at the table,..my lobster bisque was decadent and one of the best I have ever had. The wedge salad couple of others had at the table..highly praised. We all had seafood..my crabcakes with mustard grain sauce...fabulous, the sauce did not overpower and the crabcakes were mainly luscious crabmeat. Dover sole with brown butter and halibut topped with crab were hits as well at the table. Sides served to share...the 5 of us..Broccoli, Brussel sprouts and Scalloped potatoes...everything on point and delicious. Our service was perfectly paced with our wine to the after dinner coffee and drinks. Service was perfect balance of recommended drinks, wine, mains etc..and attentive start to finish. For the table we had Key lime pie, Carrot cake and bread pudding for our finish. The concensus was the standout was the key lime pie..but all were a win. Overall a wonderful evening...service, decor, music playlist...all the right notes were hit!!

I greatly enjoy eating at unique fine dining restaurants, of which there are a few in Nashville. On my first trip to River House, I really enjoyed the appetizers (firecracker sushi and Shanghai shrimp) and was excited for my entree. Ordered a filet and it was just ok. Not much seasoning and certainly nowhere near a “great” steak. Decided to make another trip back a few weeks later to try a seafood dish. Ordered the grouper, which was excellently cooked, but lacked any seasoning or flavor. I thought the beurre blanc would help, but it didn’t provide a burst of flavor either. When I paid, I realized that River House is a Bricktops with a different name, more expensive real estate, almost identical menu offerings, and higher prices. Not sure I’ll give it another shot as the appetizers have been the only parts of my experiences that were impressive and I can just get those cheaper at Bricktops going forward. For the same price, walk across the street to Etch. Every single thing is amazing there.

What a hidden gem! One of the best dinners we have experienced in Nashville in some time! The chef does not try to impress with weird and exotic dishes...just great food refined to perfection. Every course was perfect...amazingly outstanding. Great waiter! Ever the valet was a cut above!Ambience is upscale, yet warm and inviting! Love this place. Great management and we see the same staff every time we go which speaks to their consistency. There steaks are as good as any steakhouse in town. Sides are all wonderful. Sushi is excellent. Wonderful selection of spits and wines. Price point is on the high side but worth it.

This is hands down the best new restaurant in Nashville!! I live nearby and have been eagerly waiting for them to open up. My best friend and I decided to go there on a Thursday night. We had the best time and amazing dinner! We sat at the bar and the entire bar staff was so friendly and amazing. We felt extremely welcomed and enjoyed our delicious martinins. I had a thr filet and my best friend had a seafood dish. DEFINITELY THE BEST DINNER I HAVE HAD IN A WHILE!! Not only was this an amazing atmosphere but the entire staff was friendly. The GM and managers stopped by throughout our night and made sure everything was perfect. You can chose anywhere to eat, but the staff always makes your experience along with the food. The most important part about my visit was feeling safe in an environment to go out and eat. They are extremely organized and have an amazing system. Seating is separated and staff were all wearing masks with temperatures being checked at the door. This is important during a time like this. If you want to enjoy yourself and still feel safe, GO TO RIVERHOUSE!!!! Atmosphere, amazing staff all around, great food and drinks!! Thank you RiverHouse for making our experience unforgettable. We will be back soon😋

Not for me. Blinding sun coming through the massive unshaded windows upon entering. I could barely see to find our friend already seated. Completely full glass of champagne. This was the only real plus for me. For some reason, all of our glasses had a strong or faint smell of shellfish. Like maybe shellfish had fallen in the ice or dish water. Not sure. Very odd. I always order oysters on the half shell, but I'm always disappointed when the only choice is blue point. They were, small, deflated, and were not cut away from the shell. I also ordered jumbo shrimp. They brought 4 medium. My friend ordered the sea bass. It was heavily seared so just ok. It was also a la carte for $40. My other friend got wagyu. It was really good. So, in summary, this was Jeff Ruby's prices without the quality or atmosphere.

Love the River House and have been a regular during quarantine.... but CLOSING at 9 pm in downtown Nashville is ABSURD. I have eaten here 4-5 days per week when no one was coming here .... to walk into the restaurant tonight at 8:57 pm and be told that “everything is being broken down” and to feel so rushed after just landing in Nashville at 8 pm was such a turnoff . Pull it together River House .... love Johnathan the bartender .... he made up for it

Best dinner. The butter crab sushi. So good!! First time trying this place out. Delicious. Everything from the Apps to entrees and dessert. Seafood tower, filet. Grouper. Caesar salad with anchovies, bread pudding. Will definitely be going back, such a good restaurant. Everything was great.
