Reviews of Swett's
The food was amazing so was the atmosphere. My 4 year old is a picky eater and she ate until her heart was content. There wasn’t a line but we also came a little after opening. It’s definitely starting to pick up as the time goes by. I would recommend this place to eat. The meals are 13.75 except the ribs are 21 but it’s great portion sizes and great food! Well worth it
I tried this place on my trip to Nashville and this was my most absolute FAVORITE place to eat. I had Liver and Onions, Mac & Cheese, and a Squash casserole with a sweet roll. The roll tasted like a Golden Corrall roll. As of currently, this is my favorite restaurant I've ever tried. Most definitely would go again. This place is also 3 minutes away from Tennessee State University.
Okay little place, not exactly inviting. Food was edible, ribs was overcooked and dry. BBQ sauce lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes were buttery and liquidly. The green were good. Meatloaf was decent. Service was par like a fast food restaurant scene.
I heard so many raving reviews about this spot and everything was spot on. The food was fresh, hot and seasoned so well. I can tell the staff loves what they do, because I could taste love in each bite of my chicken. I will return when I’m back in Nashville. So happy I went!
Can’t wait to visit again. The food is amazing, like traditional southern home cooking. My family and I loved everything we ate. It’s a laidback place, no frills but the people are kind which adds to the experience.
I absolutely loved my food!!! The service was awesome as well!! The prices were a little steep and caught me off guard but it was worth it!
I went to Swett's during my first trip to Nashville. This family owned restaurant has been in business since the 1950's. That is a very long time.
Swett's is a SOUL FOOD restaurant that is set up cafeteria style. I went on an early November Monday at about 3PM. Though they had liver and onions, fried chicken, fried or smothered pork chops, and mac & cheese, just to name a few, on the menu, I opted for chicken fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, mustard greens and corn cake. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were very good. The greens were good too. The corn cake, cornbread in the shape and size of a pancake, was all right. That is probably because my grandmother used to make the best cornbread that a touch on the sweet side. I prefer my cornbread to be a little touch sweeter. The price was more than reasonable too.
All in all, I liked Swett's and I would eat there again. Next time I think that I will try to the pork chops and yams.
Exactly what I was looking for. Fried chicken, greens, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese! What else could you ask for. A must stop every time I’m in town. So good! It can get very busy. We scheduled for an off time, like 2:30 lunch, no line and the food was all fresh.
I’ve eaten here many times when I lived off Metro Center and it’s decent. However, I think they are very overpriced for portions. My boyfriend and I both ordered beef tips and we said yes to rice—and two sides. The rice is considered a side to them so our meal ended up being ridiculously overpriced. I just think rice should come with the beef tips, not be charged as an extra side. Also, the small slice of cheesecake that I got was not worth $4.75. Two 20fl Oz bottles of Tahitian Treat were $2.65 each. The prices may deter us from continuing to patronize this establishment. We love supporting Black establishments, especially those with historical value but it’s hard to see that they value their customers.
I'm here in Bowling Green for work and have been craving some home cooking for the past month now.. I looked up places in Nashville and found Swett's through a Google search. The pork chop, Mac n cheese, and greens were delicious.. However, the Sweet Potatos gave me LIFE. Considering the fact inflation is out of control the price and serving size was reasonable. I will definitely be back several times.
Meatloaf tasted just like home cooked. Pork chop had the right amount of breading & seasoning , turnip greens were fresh. Mashed potatoes & Mac & cheese were home style, not boxed or instant. The cornbread muffin was a little dry but tasted good. The gravy I didn't care too much for. Had too black pepper taste to it. Peach cobbler was delicious. Could have had more peach's added. Scoop of ice cream would be really good with the cobbler. Over all if ur looking for a taste of home cooked food definitely worth trying.
YUM!! Super good food, especially the sides. I had candied sweet potatoes and Mac n cheese♥️ Quick service via cafeteria line. Plenty of seating in it's vintage 1970's era dining room. Thanks Nashville!
I had the beef tips, they were tender and good, I bought the lemon cake but it was two different cakes not sure if that was how it was suppose to be.
It may not look like much but let me tell you. This was amazing. I had Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and rice. It was so homie and good.
Very good and authentic soul food. And the fact that they are open on a late Sunday evening. That loaded baked potato casserole ain't to be played with tho. Sooooo good.. as well as a variety of other food selections. It's definitely my go-to spot when I want a good home cooked meal.
My late-husband and I ate at Swett’s all the time when he was being treated for cancer and we were constantly staying at the Hope Lodge just down the road. The food has always been amazing and my personal favorites were the pork chops, Mac n cheese, greens, and any one of their desserts. The people working there were always friendly and helpful. My husband lost his leg to his cancer and they would help carry trays or drinks to our table for us no matter how busy they were. I recommend this restaurant to anyone I know if they’re going to be in the vicinity of Nashville.
Every month I do a historical tour of Nashville.
I always eat lunch. Not just for the fantastic food but for the historic value. Everyone always looks forward to eating. Great food great value. I never been disappointed.❤️🇺🇸 …
I don't have much to say other than I definitely enjoyed my meal. Swett's has been around for a long time and there's obviously a reason why. So if you don't know, take a trip and see. You won't be disappointed. And I hear the banana pudding is fabulous.
The food was really good I had my doubts at first from other people but the staff was helpful friendly and ready to assist the food tasting was even better wait to you see my pictures we went on a Sunday it was roomy not bad at all you should try it if you are looking for soul food
The fried chicken, potatoes, and cornbread were fantastic. Definitely coming back here!
Food was good. My grandson saw all the food to choose from and acted like I was starving him at home. We enjoyed it. Good home cooking without me cooking it. Expensive. Portions decent.
We've been going here at least once a week for lunch. The food is always hot fresh and delicious. My favorite is the smothered pork chop, rice&gravy, cabbage greens and cornbread muffin. The line moves quickly and never a hassle to get your food.
Con- the desserts are hit and miss.
Everything had an awesome taste! Their sweet cornbread tasted so delicious 😋
This place has parking! The staff is nice and friendly 🥰 …
I had the veggie plate and was pleasantly surprised. My first time there. I have been missing out all my life!
YO. Straight up delicious soul food. Has those vintage vibes, but the branding is just as fresh as any millennial-oriented, overpriced restaurant in some contrived downtown part of a major city. Loved the fried chicken and the loaded potato casserole. The sweet potatoes were a little too sweet for my taste and the cornbread was pretty bland.
Good home cooked Southern food. Family owned cute lil place in Nashville.
Best soul food in Nashville by far. Best hospitality by far. I travel 45 minutes twice a month for swetts. To all the tourist you haven't experienced Nashville until you eat at Swetts.
I have my feels about Swetts…My friend came down from NY and wanted Soul Food….I took her there, she didnt like it…🤷🏽♀️
Please decide on your own, give them a try! …
🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ It's ok...I think people hyped my up about it. So, when I tasted it for the 1st time. I was let down. Don't get me wrong it isnl good food. But is it the best soul food I've ever had? Absolutely not, it's pretty regular. I didn't know it was "cafeteria" style restaurant dining. So again, for my experience..it was just ok. I dont really have to go back.
I love the food! I love the people! The prices are a little high but so worth it!
Consistently good food. Very nice private dining area for parties. Personal service.
Swett's is amazing! The beat friend chicken I have ever had. The sides and pie was also amazing. Everyone was friendly and it was wonderful.
No knowledge of area and just dropped in a random place for a meal. Pleasantly surprised to learn of it being a soul food restaurant of some historic significance. The one thing I dislike about these hot table service places is feeling rushed in making my selections. Beyond that, the food was generally good; chicken was cooked perfectly but under-seasoned. All else was fairly standard. Got what we needed and hit the road.
This is a little gem located Nashville Tennesse . Soul food served cafeteria style. Staff was very friendly and informativ . I ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, with greens and cornbread. Chicken was flavorful and mashed potatoes were delicious. I must admit I was disappointed in the greens they were bland and roughly chopped not very bit sized at all. The cornbread was over cooked and not sweet at all. Sweet tea tasted like Nestle bottled tea. As a Southern raised chick I know good sweet tea!! Not a bad experience but not the best and I dont regret it. If I visit Nashville again I'll swing by here for sure.
Visiting from out of state. This food is beyond good. Well seasoned. Well breaded. And that hot water cornbread... are you kidding me?! Lol. I would go out of my way to stop here again! Good portions. Good prices. ❤️
The staff and food are the best around. Prices are slightly high, but I keep buying it so it must be worth it! Stop asking yourself if you should and just go here!
Delicious!!!!!! Amazing food and super sweet people. Ample parking and great quality food. Beef tips, creamed potatoes with gravy and creamed corn! Rolls are so good! I always have to take some home for my son.
Passing through Nashville wanted to go somewhere that has great food. I have been going to Swett's since 1969 when I was a Freshman at TSU. I knew I would not be disappointed, if I go Swett's to eat a good meal, and I wasn't disappointed either. It has been five years, since I have eaten at Swett's Restaurant.
Was in Nashville for my nephews bachelor party. As you would guess, the boys indulged a little bit. So Saturday I went to Swett's and picked up some fried chicken, ribs and mac & cheese. Needless to say, the food was fabulous and the boys are up and walking! Would definitely recommend to anyone to stop in for great down home food. Great service and great people.
Everything was EXCELLENT! I came with 2v family members...tried their food too....just great! I cleaned my plate!!!
Pulled pork is quite delicious, barbecue sauce is homemade and quite good. Staff was friendly Decor is nice, opens at 11 within 15 minutes there's 18 people already here. This is definitely place to check out if you're visiting Nashville highly recommend this place good home cooking for fair price. I will definitely be back. Finger licking good!
Good southern home cooking spot!
You can't beat the flavor and hospitality.
Recommended for sure.
I don't know if it's under new management or Not, their food taste the same. Lol
The food was the best. A great value for not much money. We had two meals. The side dishes looked so good we had three extra side dishes and the cost was less than 40 dollars. They offered two types of my favorite cornbread served fresh and hot. It is a very clean and comfy dining area. It is frequented by all types of people. They have good meals for everyone to enjoy. You won't regret having lunch or dinner at Sweats.
Purchased 9 meals and desserts. The greens were a little on the salty side but all over good food. Great service for going in with an order that size and no notice.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant while dining in.
Food was good. Service and ambiance were great! I will go again!!!
Delicious down home southern cuisine. Been several times and have never been disappointed.
Barely average. The pork was not pulled properly, lots of big chunks and the cornbread was terrible.
Great soul food, my first time eating here, everything is made from scratch, I really loved the peach cobbler dessert.
Nostalgic Soul Food restaurant not far from downtown Nashville, Fisk University, and Tennessee State University.
It's set up cafeteria style. You walk in, get in line, and go down the line choosing the food that you want to eat. I choose fried chicken - white meat. The chicken just came out of the kitchen, so it was hot. The wing was was very good. The breast was too moist for me. It was tasty all the same. I must admit though, I prefer my chicken to be a little more overcooked than most people I know. I also ate a side of turnip greens, candied yams, and creamed corn. They were all good.
Food is wonderful only problem is figuring out what to eat. Some many options and all good
Great staff, Great food, Great location! The location is all about Swett's on every corner.
Best restaurant in Nashville for soul food. This is the one place I bring friends when they come visit.
Damn good real Soulfood! This is bbq pork and meatloaf, cabbage and mixed veggies...Yum!
Food was excellent, and so much to choose from. Staff was friendly and fast
I've been to other places similar to this but Swett's is by far the best! Highly recommend! My friend said, "They have the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life!"
The chicken and dressing, Mac and cheese, greens, cornbread, chocolate chess pie, and brown beans was delicious!
Friendly staff. Had the meatloaf, macaroni, and corn. The macaroni was overcooked and bland, but the meatloaf and corn was great.
Lemon roll dessert was moist and delicious.
We come here every Sunday after Church. The food is always hot, fresh, & delicious. The servings are more than enough.
Delicious food!
I'm new to the area, and this is already becoming a favorite haunt, and my default haunt to take people to when I need to impress them.
So far, everything available on their cafeteria-style serving line is delicious, with special mention going to the meatloaf. I'm also a huge fan of their fried cornbread - it's very pleasantly nostalgic, bringing back memories of family secrets cooked into well-loved cast iron.
First time here, loved the food and the customer service was superior
Food was amazing! Will definitely eat here again
Delicious food! Feels like your eating your grandma's home cooking. Have to recomend for anyone like myself who was visiting on vacation as a must try
I’ve lived in Nashville for 40 years and will never understand why anyone can say that this is not the absolute best meat and three in town. Maybe people see it described as soul food and are frightened away for some reason. Or maybe they are just afraid to venture into this particular neighborhood. Clean and convenient (big parking lot), 5 min from downtown. Top notch freshly made food that would make your mama blush. Try the greens and dont forget the dessert. Do yourself a favor and go to Swetts and you will never again be tempted to go back and eat off those paper plates at Arnold’s or have those canned vegetables at Wendell’s. 😉
The food is very overpriced for southern food and you get small portions
Never disappointed !! The food is always prepared well and delicious. The staff and owners are fantastic!!.
I've enjoyed the delicious food at Swett's since the 1990's! Always fresh, many choices, good portion size, great location off I-24 W, reasonably priced. Highly recommend 👌 👍🏽 …
Such great home cooking in a nostalgic atmosphere.
Great food, wonderful employees. We would go back next time we are in Nashville
Great food and service.
I'm from NY but travel a lot and I'm always looking for a good soul food spot. While visiting Nashville i read good reviews and decided to try Swetts. The food was delicious and was definitely worth the try. I do feel they could give more of my money's worth per serving though.
If you're looking for tasty soul food in the Nashville TN area, I'd recommend Swetts.
This is for sure a must visit family oriented restaurant, great food, great drinks, just all around nice places.
Wife and I visited Nashville and wanted to try it. Food was decent but not fresh. The issue on the afternoon of 4/24/21 was due to lack of staffing. There was one young lady that was trying to do it all and it was a challenge for her. Seems as if everyone left her hanging. Everyone was very nice. It's definitely run by good people. You can tell. I heard multiple people talking about how great this establishment is so I'll give it another shot next time I'm in town. Hopefully it's a better experience.
Great great great! The place was clean the staff was friendly prices were reasonable and the food was delicious! Can't wait to go back.
Soulfood. Food is good and visible to choose . Priced reasonably. Friday afternoon, there wasn't a long line. Also, we visited the airport location while waiting on our flight.
Food was good. My first time. The cashier was an azz. Mr. Swett U need to talk to your cousin. Others were talk about him too.
Down home yummy country soul food.... need I say more?
Family owned and the food tasted just like my Mama's. If you like beef tips and rice, this is the place to go. I am told the meatloaf and pork chops are good too. And the cobbler, oh my! A great place to go after church on Sundays.
The food is fantastic Southern cuisine. I'm giving a 3 star rating due to the cost and the Google single $. For 2 of us, the total was $39.88. That was for 2:
Meat and 2 veg, bread, drink, and dessert.
The same meal would have been $25 (including tip) at a comparable restaurant. Google needs to increase the cost rating to at least $$ if not $$$.
Again, the food is wonderful. Just be prepared to pay more than expected at $.
Food was great, very good home cooking!!
Food was excellent it makes want to return
Best Meat and Three in Nashville, and one of the best I have ever had period. If you're looking for some good down home cooking at a fair price, make Swett's your next stop.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is very welcoming. The restaurant is impeccably clean and very well maintained.
When I was in the line to get my food, a man in front of me ordered beef tips and the heaping spoon dripped some gravy on the serving table and the lady serving food immediately wiped it up to keep even the line clean and therefore the food's appearance appetizing! Down to the smallest details this restaurant is extremely well managed and staffed by people who obviously care about the place.
I give Swett's 5 stars because there isn't an option to give 6. Thanks Y'all! I'll be back next time I'm in town!!
Good soul food. One of Nashville well kept secrets
A true Nashville landmark that still serves GREAT food. It is time for some remodeling and updates so the dining hall and restrooms can match the great food, staff and the price.
Delicious! I'm a vegetarian some Super glide they did not have ANY meats cooked in their greens!! Soni enjoyed this southern cooking. The lady that served us gave average service and wasn't too friendly or welcoming! But good turned out nice and we enjoyed dining in!
The food is good...but all these rave reviews about friendly service is CAP! A bunch of hard faced women especially the cashier that never smiles and the desert prices are ridiculous! $5 for a slice of pie of cake small enuff to get 20 slices out of a bundt cake🙄 or 1 ice cream scoop of banana pudding...WOW!! But as i said the food is good but for the hard faces and ridiculous desert prices i gotta take 2 stars
Really good, convenient southern comfort food. I haven't tried many of the options, but their fried chicken is amazing and so are the green beans, creamed corn, and mac n cheese. My only disappointment was they don't offer fried okra, just baked... But I'm just a sucker for fried okra. :)
Great food and beautiful paintings on the wall. Nice amount of parking spaces.
Beef tips dinner and Ribs dinner was fresh and delicious.
I love the history that comes with the restaurant so I had to try it! The food was very much mediocre however, the atmosphere was friendly.
It was wonderful the food great!
Swett's has been a Nashville institution for generations. Always fresh vegetables and well-prepared meats cafeteria style are their mainstay. Never disappoints.
Food was awesome..cant wait to come back again
Went here for the the first time today. Ordered two meals. The first meal was fried catfish, sweet potatoes and greens. The catfish was very well seasoned and absolutely delicious. The sweet potatoes were nontraditional, with pecans. They were tasty. The greens were bitter but paired well with the sweetness in the potatoes.
The second meal was a smothered pork chop with potato casserole and green beans. The smothered pork chop was just ok. The potato casserole was tasty and the beans were very well seasoned.
I also got the sweet potato pie and carrot cake. Both were a hit! Delicious.
I will definitely be back.
The food was ok but they prices are kinda high.. I paid 28 dollars for a 2 piece porkchop plate with vegetable ...
This was my second time at this restaurant and again I was not disappointed. It was very crowded but I got served fast and they cooked the fish to order can't bet it but the peach cobbler was horrible today.
My husband and I visited this restaurant while on my birthday getaway. I am so happy we did. This one gives a family owned vibe, and it was very welcoming. After explaining that we had never visited the establishment, we were helped tremendously while picking things that we wanted to order. The servers were very helpful and patient. The prices weren't bad and the serving sizes were decent.
Now to the food… omg! The sweet potatoes were my absolute favorite, followed by the fried chicken, and then the macaroni. Lol The corn bread muffin wasn’t my favorite because I’m used to it being super sweet, but I won’t take that away from the restaurant because it was still good. The entire plate gave me “eating back in the day at grandma’s” vibes. You can’t tell me that there isn’t somebody’s granny in the back, and if so, tell grandma I love her. 😂
The banana pudding was amazing, and my husband fell in love with the peach cobbler; which says a lot because he’s super picky about his cobbler. Lmbo All in all the food was very very good and we would definitely stop back by on another visit. Truthfully, I plan to possibly eat here again before we head back home in the next two days.
Food selections as far as choices were EXCELLENT. Well prepared. Staff cordial and accommodating. This is definitely Southern and Soul Food...the best of both worlds. Hopefully, the food preparation is consistent. Then, it is a winner. Portion size was adequate. Consistency and portion size should be maintained. Happy Eating.
Great selection of food and tasty.
Great family owned restaurant. Excellent southern soul food, customer service and great place to meet family to have dinner.
Vegetables are all excellent. Fried chicken, fried pork chop with gravy. Everything looked great. Very friendly staff from entrance to exit.
The food was pretty good and exactly what I was looking for with a meat + 3 side dishes. I have been here twice and have not been disappointed either time. The first time I went all out on a turkey dinner, bread stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, roll, and sweet tea. It is a nice little homey feel to it. Would recommend.
This is one of the Iconic Soul Food places in Nashville to enjoy a Meat & 3. The bake potato casserole is delicious...don't count the calories 😋 and the fried chicken, crunchy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside so flavorful...need I say more
Always eat here when we're going west to my sister's house. Best squash casserole and potato casserole since my grandmother's. Only suggestion would be to offer tartar sauce with fried fish, there is hot sauce.
Good home southern cooked food. Every visit is always great. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys home style food.
We stopped here for dinner as we were passing by. The food was great and large portions. Everything they had was delicious Southern comfort food. Staff was very friendly.
Second trip was just as fantastic good. Has become my favorite restaurant since arriving to Nashville ,Thanks to my Husband.
This is "soul food" at its best, as far as cafeteria style is concerned. Great ambiance for those who can appreciate down home cooking while taking a stroll down Memory Lane with photos of stars lining the walls. Customer service was spectacular. We had a large group and the restaurant was accommodating. The serving sizes were hefty...you'll leave very full. Wonderful dining experience when in Nashville.
Food is good, quantity is so so - could have been a little bit larger. The ice cream scoop of veggies needs to increase to a scoop and a half or 2 scoops for some items like mashed potatoes. The price is too high for the small portions. Take the portions up a tad and the price would be understandable.
The food is amazingly good! I was with a tour group and everyone loved what they got; finger licking good. The price was well worth it. Definitely a MUST do and worth coming back.
Excellent Food at an excellent price. Staff very friendly...I will definately be eating there again!!!
Great food! Exactly what we were looking for on our road trip. People were super friendly.
Nice store, but their inventory was very low this year. We have bought a stand up paddle here before. Was looking for a 12 ft lightweight kayak. We usually stop on our way from TN to the Adirondacks.
1st time at this historic place. Beautiful mural and great wall of celebs pics. Food was ok, however the baked cornbread was hard lacking flavor, cabbage a little greasy for me. Customer was good!
I liked it all very much. Oonnllly thing I can say bad about it is not that big of a deal but the greens were lacking a bit if flavor overall everything else fingerlicking good
My niece found this place after searching for African American owned restaurants in the area. This restaurant is one that is rich in history and tends to be frequented by many celebrities who visit the area. I enjoyed the cafeteria style dining which offered a variety of options to appeal to many different palates which was good for us since we were a group of 6. My only disappointment was they did not offer smoked meat/bbq on the day I visited which was a little confusing based on the website. But, overall my made to order catfish was very satisfying and my sides of turnip greens, lima beans, flat fried bread, and pecan pie were a delightful. I would definitely visit this place again as the beef short ribs look like a must try!
Delicious home cooked food. I loved the fried chicken and Mac n cheese but they have beef tips, turnip greens, mashed potatoes, cobbler, the list goes on and their are other menu items on certain days. Definitely a go-to when you are away from home and want some home cooked food.
Want to lunch with a co-worker. He is a 3 day/week vegetarian. It was Great! A traditional Meat and Three type restraunt with Great Food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. If you want to get full with good variety and prices that don't break the budget.... Swett's is at the front of the line! The ribs were falling off the bone!! I ate half the plate (ribs, green beans, sweet potatoes and peach cobbler) and took the rest home for dinner. Thank you for two wonderful meals!
Beef tips, mashed potatoes, squash casserole and baked cornbread. Yum yum.... So many choices. Pat had a pork chop covered in gravy, cabbage, candied yams and a roll. Dad had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn and a roll...
Ya just gotta go!
Good old sourthern food. They have a hall of fame where celebrities like Toni Braxton and Emeril has visited and has signed their pictures. So just by saying that this is a yummy place! Baked Mac and cheese so good! Dressing and fried chicken in point!
Good as always and you get enough for your money
Was the best food we ate on our trip this far. Everything was great, and tasted like real home cooking. It was fresh and you could see what they had and pick what you wanted. Very enjoyable place, and everyone was very friendly. Highly recomended.
Food was delicious. Service was horrible for new customer. Bathroom and dining wasn't clean. It would be a great place to dine if service was awesome friendly. Support our black own restaurant anyway.
It was a joy to return to the Famous Nashville Swett's Soul Food Restaurant. I had the Baked Chicken, Green Beans, Baked Corn Muffin and Cheesy-like Potatoes, Blackberry Pie and a Fruit Drink. Enjoyed the great food. The atmosphere was cordial, the service was good, considering it was between 4:30 and 5:30pm. Enjoyed seeing the Celebrity Wall of Pictures, to include the Buffalo Soldier hanging on the Dining Room Wall.

This place was recommended to me by an employee at the Payless Rental Car Counter at the Nashville International Airport. We put it on our to-do list and we were so glad we did! The amazing smell of the delicious food hits you as soon as you walk in. I'm drooling just thinking again about how fantastic EVERYTHING was.
This isn't a fancy place, but it's clean, welcoming, and truly the best home country cooking anywhere.
Delicious home cooking style southern food. I got beef tips in gravy, okra (which i was super excited about because I dont get it often) scalloped potatoes and green beans. As a side of got the perfect cucumber salad. Like my great Aunt and Grandmother used to make. Glad to have found this place.
Best lunch I've had in years!!
The old fashioned cafeteria experience, with the spotlight on regional cuisine. We got beef tips and country fried steak, both smothered in gravy. Sides we recommend are squash casserole and baked potato casserole (although my companion's serving came drenched in melted butter? margerine? which was excessive. We didn't try desserts, but there are several to choose from.
Awesome cafeteria style Southern soul food spot! The service is great, the employees are friendly, the food is tremendous, and there is plenty of history too! I had the beef tips with cabbage and turnip greens. Definitely want to come back some time.
Decent Meat and Three spot. Price is extremely high. I paid $18 for meat and three and a slice of pie. I also had a water to drink. Other than price, atmosphere was homey and food was delicious. Could use a little help on the cornbread...kinda dry!
I recommend the Catfish it's amazing!
Come to Swett's for an authentic Nashville meat-and-three meal - and a great value! The food is amazing, no one in our group of 4 had a bad dish. Served cafeteria style so you can see the sides, definitely try the fried chicken. It's busy but there's plenty of seating.
Great southern cooking, The Beef tips are my favorite I can eat that everyday with the loaded potatoes Mac n cheese with the fried cornbread!! Yes!!
Delicious food like omg we're going back soon. The staff is great and I reiterate- the food here is spectacular... So good you'll crave it later on.
I usually get the smothered pork chop, but you can't go wrong with anything in the house. I love the atmosphere here and the fact that the owners still work at the shop. Definitely in my top 3 favorite restaurants in Nashville. No make it my very favorite.
Great food, a little more expensive than I expected. Still love this place.
Sooooo good!! I had the smothered pork chops with 2 sides and my fiancé tried the country fried steak with 2 sides and both were exceptional. Best Southern style American food we’ve had in Nashville. The restaurant is very casual and cafeteria styled.
Great southern cooking and best lemonade hands down! I had the spicy chicken and it lived up to its name. Their cream corn is beautiful! You get in line to choose your deserts and main course. There's chicken, bbq ribs, fried chicken etc. All are tasty and delicious you won't be disappointed!
Went to Swett’s yesterday for the first time in a long time. It was an okay experience. The amount you pay is well over priced. I got baked chicken which was dry as hell, the macaroni and was not bad but also nothing special, turnip greens were very bitter in a good way. Some of the best I’ve tasted in a while. Cornbread was fine. Overall, ok experience just not worth what I paid.
Everything here was good. Meatloaf was super moist and tasty. Loved the biscuit. Green beans had tons of flavor. I was very full when I left. I would definitely eat here again.
I stopped here after worship Sunday. First, I went to the to go side thinking it was the cafeteria side. There was only two people in front of me. I was thinking this can't be good for there to only be two people in line after worship. Then, I noticed there were only a few dishes on the line. While waiting, I noticed a lady use some shears to cut up the chicken. That turned me off no one else had a problem with it. I finally asked if there was another section and they informed me I was in the to go section.
I made my way to the cafeteria section and the line was long. I thought this makes more sense. While in line, I looked at some of the pictures on the wall. I saw the some photos the Traveler's Green Book and Swett's was a part of it. How awesome is that!!!
I finally, made it to the front of the line. I ordered the beef tips with greens, macaroni and cheese, fried cornbread, and a slice of sweet potato pie. The beef tips were tender and delicious. The macaroni and cheese was okay. I wished it had a piece of that baked cheese on top but I got the last of the macaroni and cheese out of the dish. I didn't like the greens at all. I wished I had tried the cabbage instead. I didn't eat the sweet potato pie until later that evening. That sweet potato pie was fantastic! I wished I had gotten two slices. It was so smooth and flavorful!
Un-be-lievable ! You HAVE to eat here, to have a real soulfood!
Porkchop was so yummy. Greens ok. Mac and cheese nasty cabbage good. Cornbread ok
This was the first place my wife and I visited on our recent trip to Nashville. We were actually headed to Biscuit Love but the line was too long. We ordered a baked chicken plate with sweet potatoes, beans and corn bread and a ribs pate with greens, beans and cornbread. The fried cornbread tasted like it was fried in old grease, however the baked cornbread was quite good. The chicken and the ribs were quite flavorful but I think the barbeque sauce was the source of a lot of that flavor. The rest of the food was ok, not horrible but nothing to make me jump and scream in excitement. The ambiance was pretty basic and could be upgraded. Overall my favorite things here were the barbeque sauce and the lemonade.
Full selection of soul food, all the comforts of a home cooked meal. It's a historical establishment, but the food quality is inconsistent.
Always amazing Nashville institution. My Gold standard of soul food and meat and three. Best greens I've ever tasted, hands down. Superb pulled pork, cobblers, and pies. Do not miss if you're in town!
Friendly service and great food! You really can't go wrong here, everything is homemade, delicious and fresh.
Delicious homemade type southern style food. Wonderful staff and not to mention at the end of the day they donate the food.
My husband took me and our child here for dinner tonight and the food was great, staff was fast and very sweet/polite, also very clean environment. We will definitely be back!
Swett's has been a part of the Nashville community for many decades, and thankfully it hasn't changed much. Best chocolate pie EVER, and the meatloaf + mashed potatoes are my go-to, in which I am never disappointed. Nice people, pleasant family atmosphere.
Love the food but your man got to slow down on busting the tables down. I walked up to get a to go box took 15 seconds come back he done dumped my plate 😡. I guess you have to take plate with you to bathroom too? …
Food was good, however I've had better. Also most soul food restaurants have a meat & 3. Theirs was a meat & 2, And after ordering our plates and getting drinks we ended up spending almost 35 dollars. VERY PRICEY!
Oh my goodness this place has the best food I've ever ate. They are always crowded and a little pricey but it's definitely worth it. The owner was there and he was very friendly. I highly suggest that you visit this place at least once in your lifetime. Don't miss out on this place.
OMG this place was so amazingly awesome! Some of the best food I've eaten in Nashville!! Beef tips were so good, tender, bursting with flavor. Pecan pie was possibly the best pecan pie I've ever eaten. Definitely make it a stop!
Great food and great service and family friendly. They will help if you have large family and needing help to go to the table
I was wanting some soul food and this place delivered. Enjoyed the rib tips, Mac and cheese and yams.
Authentic southern cooking!
The food was excellent.
We really enjoyed the home cooked soul food we got from Swett's while my husband and I were on a little vacation 2 hours from home! We loved the pictures that told the history of the Swett family!
Swett's is always good for a "stick to your ribs" kind of meal. They have a wide variety of "meat and three" menu items. They have been around for many years and they definitely know what they are doing. I have never had a disappointing meal there.
This was our first time eating at this establishment and the food was really good. We will definitely be back in the future. We left Lebanon Tennessee to come find a soul food restaurant and that's exactly what we found. Thank you.
Swett's serves a good meat and two sides. I got the fried chicken and it didn't go wrong. Everything was nice and tasty. It's dining on styrofoam though, so don't expect high end dining here.
Great place to eat. I ordered a pork chop plate with green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. The green beans were a bit under seasoned in my opinion, but it was nothing that a little salt and pepper couldn't fix. All-in-all everything was delicious.
Git oxtail they were good but that fried chicken "off the chain" yummy 😋 ill be back …
This is a painful score to give. Swetts was a place that helped me get over my homesick college days while at TSU. I was traveling through Nashville and stopped in with friends for what I remembered being a close to home cooked meal. Everything "looked" great. Generous portions. But our meals were crazy high. The food was just okay. The greens were mostly stems and tough. My pork chop also though. The cake and cornbread was dry. Maybe the quality hasn't kept up with the price or perhaps my taste buds matured too.
The cabbage and fried chicken was delicious. One thing I like about this place is the food is always consistent. I love the family restaurant feel.
Delicious as ever! I eat here every time I'm in Nashville. Best meat & 2, love their meatloaf and loaded baked potato casserole
It's been several years since I've eaten here. It was always reasonable but today it was $34 for two people to eat meat and two veggies. The food was good but pricey.
If you like great Southern food this is the place. Choose from 4 or 5 delicious meat choices & choose 3 great sides! Best sweet tea in TN! ..and cornbread like cake! Come & get it!
Basic meat and three. Not a place for anything healthy, heavy in sodium & sugar. Solid southern country comfort food. Pass on the desserts in the containers, you can make better at home. It felt like eating a sponge with icing on it.
Not my personal style, but may suit you if you like a heavy & filling meal.
Oooooh my god. I can not begin to explain how perfect this restaurant was for my grandmother and I. We came to Nashville for some medical garbage at Vanderbilt. We were at wits end when we found this place. I couldn’t be more thankful that we did.
Staff friendly and cheerful. The food was delicious . Portions are HUGE. People just all around seemed happy to be there. Thank you, Swett’s!
WOW!!! A coworker of mine took me here and told me that it was a "Nashville classic/staple" - that is saying a lot. But when I got here I could see what she meant. There is definitely a vintage feel about this place, and at the end of the day, it is a classic MEAT&THREE and the meats (and the threes) are amaaaaaaaaaazing. We went during lunch and I am so glad we went a bit early (around 11) because by the time we got there, ordered our food and sat down, the line was OUT THE DOOR.
I got the catfish, mac and cheese and broccoli and fried corn bread (which looks like a pancake) and my friend got the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
If you are in the mood for some down-home cooking, I HIGHLY recommend this place! You will not regret it!
If I could give them 10 stars I would. I tried Swett's for the first time on Sunday and they did not disappoint! Officially my new go to for Soulfood Sunday's.
Food was good, but prices was high. Took my father-in-law to eat between doctor's visits and paid 34.00 for 2 plate lunches. Chicken, green and Mac and cheese. Sweet tea...I thought it was kinda high for that
Listen this is the BEST home cooking I have had in a very long time from a restaurant! I have been to alot of places in Nashville and this tops the list. No joke! You have to taste for yourself. Words don't do this food justice.
Very disappointed mashed potatoes were horrible, I got the macaroni/cheese but opted not to eat it. Back when I use to visit Nashville it was good.
Excellent soul food cuisine, served cafeteria style. They salt they're meat entrees a bit more than necessary, but the food is very good.
Very good food and excellent service. It may not look like anything out front, but brings it on with the food! Definitely will go back the next time I'm in Nashville,TN.
I paid $12.50 plus tax for beef tips and 2 sides. My beef was tough and the portion was to small. Tasty though. I feel like I paid to much for small portions and tough beef.
Absolutely the best food we've eaten in A looking time. Food was amazing, service was great. Will B returning.
I’m originally from Nashville but moved away many years ago. Personally, I’m very disappointed with the way Nashville has become but there’s one place that never disappoints me and that’s Swett’s. This building has been here and withstood the tests of time. When I drove to it I thought I was going to Gates BBQ in Kansas City. I cherish places like that. I am forever grateful that I got to taste some delicious comfort food from Scratch. I miss the Cafeteria Concept that Gates and Swett’s provides. I’ll definitely come back again as long as it’s open while visiting.
It was okay the day I went. I prefer to have my food separated from my veggies. The line server acted like that was too much trouble. I don't like my meat to get wet. A little petty but it's my dime.
Best fried chicken I have ever had! The sides were divine. Friendly service and a clean facility. It was awesome. Regret not ordering dessert!
A Nashville staple, Swett's always delivers on quality. Comfort food at its best! And who knows who you'll you see there? Celebrities, athletes, civic leaders...but make no mistake! It's all about the cornbread!
I love this Soul Food restaurant. It smells like home when you walk in and you are compelled to eat everything but don't fret you can always come back and eat all the items that us on the menus. My personal favorite is the smothered pork chop.
Meat and three perfected. The food is rich and I have never needed to add any extra salt ;). Ribs, BBQ, Smoked Chicken, Rotisserie, Chicken, Fried Chicken, Fried Steak, fried pork chops, etc. Every day, along with all the proper sides done right. The mac and cheese is my favorite anywhere. The turnip greens are as southern as any I've had.
Food was good but not as good as other meat and threes. It was competitively priced. Service was very good.
Meat and 3 style comfort food. Breaded pork chop is to die for. The creamed corn is perfect and sweet. Mac n cheese is what you expect from southern cooking. I would eat here every day if I lived in Nashville.
My first time visiting, walked in and the staff was friendly and helpful!😊 The place was nice and clean. They have a nice variety of food to choose from the food I order was great!😁
Food is great. And the staff and ownership and the people I met when I was there are all amazing.
Visited today for the first time in a few years. Food was still good as remembered but I almost passed out at the price. Two lunch plates was 36.00. That’s the most expensive meat and three I have ever had.
Although it was overly priced sweat still maintains it's good reputation when it comes to home-cooked southern style food the ambience as well as the staff made it an enjoyable experience it's really nice to know they're going to try to open a new sweats restaurant out at the airport in Nashville should be a success
I hadn't been since I was younger. I just wasn't impressed with the food and it was a bit over priced for a meat and 2. But the staff was very polite and helpful.
The food was excellent..Down home cooking at it's finest..had the fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, & collards to die for.....The service was superb..Super friendly, they made us feel at home..Will definitely go back....
Great food. Only issue was price which was a bit high.. I would go back for that juicy fried chicken
Traditional Southern "meat & three" buffet in Nashville. Food is good and plentiful.
Wanting some good ole down home southern cooking? This is your spot. Collered greens, pigs feet, mountain oysters, fried chicken, pinto beans, potatoes with gravy, etc... They can hook you up. It's kind of in the hood, but that's how you know its authentic. Go hungry because you'll be full when you leave.
Pick up your tray..get in line..and enjoy the many, many choices of eating! Something for everyone in abundance! ♥️
The food is awesome! I had to buy a second plate to take homr with me. The hospitality made me feel right at home. I will definitely be returning.
Excellent food. Prices are a little high but it is buffet style and you get a good helping of food. If you don't get there before noon it is slammed.
Great customer service and great food. Our first time there.
This place is as authentic as they come! Casual, cafeteria-style dining and excellent Southern comfort food have made Swett's an oasis for locals trying to escape the hustle and bustle of our growing city! Get a dessert, you won't be sorry!
Everything was great and the food was excellent. Service was very good.
Clifton Ave is some of the best food in town. I have been eating there for 30 years and have NEVER been disappointed - lunch or dinner.
Unfortunately, the working girls that used to brighten the place up on a Friday night have been replaced with scum like Ron Ramsey.
I always like Sweats. Its a classic meat & 3 and the food is very good. I do recommend. Its a top 5 spot for this kind of food.
Good place to eat soul food. This restaurant was away from the busy city streets. The staff were all pleasant and the food was delicious. We would definitely visit this place again
The beef tips are very flavorful as well as the green beans. We came later in the evening during the week and they were pretty low on options.
Talk is, they're not as good as they used to be. But in the numerous dishes I sampled, there wasn't a false or sour note to be found. The squash casserole and the fried cornbread *alone* were worth the day's drive to arrive here!
Great food, nice prices, good service and a lot of history
Been going since the 80s as a child and present day and the food is still on point amazing fantastic wonderful all that & great service
I Haven't been at this location in a while
I always enjoyed soul food B.B.NEWS
Great food! Great food selections, Great flavors. Can't go wrong with this food selection.
Classic meat and three in an historic location, near Vandy, TSU, Fisk and Meharry. Dining room is clean, spacious and somewhat modern. Food quality and selection are top notch. Locals flood lunch and "supper". They also have a smokehouse, but try the beef tips over rice or fried chicken, or even get veg plate. You will be very happy.
Fantastic! Great food, great service, friendly atmosphere. One of my favorite eating places, whenever I'm in Nashville!
Sweets been around for YEARS. It's Back to being good again. Definitely worth checking out if you never been there. Good soul food.
I have lunch there every week. Food is delicious, staff is friendly and service is superb. I can get through (cafeteria) line, eat and get back to work well within an hour. (Quicker than 'fast food').👍👍👍👍👍 …
Best good food meal I've had to eat since my Mamaw passed away! Will be eating here everytime I'm in town!
Super price and value for your money. Excellent variety of entrees and dessert. Loved the baked corn bread!
Ive been missing soul food for awhile now that i dont see my mama and this definitely hit the spot! This brought back many memories of when my mama and daddy would make all my favorites! We dont have any restaurants in Lebanon worth eating at and we just happened to be closest to this one! This was definitely destiny!
I just flew in from Siberia; and the beef tips were so good I had to jump back and smack my cousin's best friend's nephew on her brother's side Momma! Oh Glory I see STARS!
Close to my business travels. Nice, friendly staff and I have not had a bad meal in any of my visits. Have been here about 6 times in 2016. Customer since 2012. (Not a good area after sun goes down.)
Very delicious food, chicken was yummy and tender and the sides were done perfect. Staff were amazing. Definitely coming back.
Very awesome mom & pop place from the 50's still going strong, cafeteria style, meat and three with dessert. Things to try: homemade lemonade, blackberry cobbler, beef tips, sweet potatoes, and corn.
The food here was amazing. I got squash casserole and mac and cheese and both were top notch. Definitely will be back
The turnip greens were just like Grandma's. Great food, great price, great family-owned business.
Great selection of southern food. I couldnt choose! My 9 year old son enjoyed it too. A bit pricey though.
Very good fried chicken
Food is good. Was cooking greens at lunchtime had cabbage which was just ok. Salibury steak was tough. I didn't finish it. But love sweet potato or yam item
Wonderful home cooked food. Great meat and veggies. Friendly staff. Food is hot and fresh. Always enjoy coming here for lunch.
Great selection of Southern cuisine. Reminder of past Easters at grandmas. Thank you!
Sweets food is delicious. I had catfish, white beans cabbage and hot water cornbread.
Delicious , if you are in Nashville TN make sure you check out Swetts , the best soul food ever.
Great service and Food.
A Nashville institution. Cafeteria style southern soul food. A great place to get a quick lunch when you're in the area.
Loved it, they know how to season their food. Not like some meat and 3’s. Generous portions. Just down home good food.
Lovely spot for lunch
The food was good as good as it used to be. Probably once visit again anytime soon 😒
Excellent home cooked food
Great food, friendly staff, and good prices. Nice clean restaurant.
A great place to get some Southern home cooking. The fried chicken was seasoned to perfection and the green beans and candied yams were divine.
Great food! Cafeteria meat and three. Good ole southern cooking. Dining area is nice. Highly recommended.
Best meal I've had in along time
Unfortunately my uncle passed and we had a lot of people to feed. Swett's came through in a big way. The yams were a big hit and the fried chicken is awesome. Cool spot.
Some of the best fried chicken and mac n cheese I've had! Incredible service and hospitality. Will be back for sure!
I got the fried chicken creamed potatoes n creamed corn..Excellent! Could be 5 stars tho if the lady at the cash register wasnt rude..she didnt speak no eye contact or nothing..yal get her together and yal good!
Took my 91 year old God-Teacher and brother there on Friday. We ate ourselves silly. Food was wonderful.
July 2019 I haven't been to swett's in years I've been trying this other place and there greens were so gritty. I got a vegetable plate with sweet potatoes and greens my my 💓💓 it's a little far from my job but I drove over there and it was worth the drive …
Great place to go after church on Sunday. Food looks good and tastes even better. Portions sometimes a little small but last time I was very happy.
My trip is not complete if I don't eat at Swett's. The food is ALWAYS GOOD! I've been here 5 days have eaten here 3 times.
It was ok. I had beef tips and rice. Forgot to take a picture. I always get my orders to go because you do get enough food to have some for later.
Was here awhile ago and loved everything. Friendly family. We got nearly everything on the menu to share and there were too many items that were our favorites.
Thanks
Mark
Bay City mi
The food was delicious and great service!
The food was delicious, good portions, and friendly atmosphere.
Great buffet style country cooking. Got 2 plates to go. Food was great but Pricing a bit high compared is similar places.
The food service the owners the people that work there are all great people friendly it's like being at home with your own family
I was looking for a meat and 3... this place is amazing. I ordered at the first counter you see when you walk in. This is for carry out. Go around to the right door and there is even a bigger selection if you are dining in
Absolutely phenomenal service and food I've never tasted anything so close to my mother's cooking
Fast and simple service. Chicken fried steak was alright, but the sides were fantastic. Recommend the sweet potatoes!
Good home cooking. Friendly Staff.
-porkchop and fried chicken
Prices high for a meat and three $40 for 2 plates and 1 drink, service was good , friendly staff.
Great food!!! We’ll definitely be back
Good home cooking, friendly atmosphere. It may be a little off the beaten path but it is a place to get great food at a decent price.
I love eating at Swett's Restaurant. I always see people I know and children I have taught. It gives me a good homey feeling to visit Swett's. Thank you, Swett's family, for never changing.
A very enjoyable eating experience. Wide range of well prepared selections
I had lunch here and opted for a meat&3 instead of BBQ. It wasn't great, just okay. I know this place typically gets rave reviews, but for my one visit, I just don't see what the big deal is.
This is some of the best food in the Nashville area. Ample food and good service. Friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this place to all.
Great cafeteria home style food at a reasonable price. Lots of parking. Suggestion to put up labels of different desserts and choices. Only problem was food was only luke warm.
Best soul food in Nashville. They have been in business over 50 years. Great banquet space too.
Happy to go to SWETTS for a good home cooked meal, especially on a Sunday afternoon! Great food, great service in a clean, socially distanced environment! YESSSSSS 💯 …
It's okay but nothing you can't find other meat and 3 places.
Very good food. Sides are exceptional. Pretty pricey for meat and 2. (At least anywhere besides Nashville)
Great food friendly upbeat staff the best n Nashville period .....
absolutely delicious😋😋😋 can’t wait to visit again …
One of the best places for a mother's meal on Sunday around good southern people's a lot of church and retired people will always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome and race is not a issue there Maybe a a line but it's worth the wait.
Famous, downhome, got to eat there famous soul food place. Cafeteria style. Best fried chicken in Nashville area.
Good food at a decent price.
I love the food. Well it’s been a year now since first going to Swett’s and they have slacked off, the last time I went I was disappointed with the quality of their food
Awsome!!!!!! As usual. The food is .....is.....well I'll just say "It touches your soul!"
Home cooked taste friendly staff. Loved it.
I loved the home cooked variety of cakes , vegetables, and meats. The staff are courteous and friendly
Food was excellent. Will definitely be returning for more great food.
Everything was delicious! Service was exceptional . My family and I will be back.
Always Amazing! My fav new lunch spot. My bathing suit is not gonna love it so much im certain....🤷♀️ #totallyworthit …
Great place for a meat and 2 vegetable!! Been coming here since I was a child in 1973. Family business
Food was fresh and good, but a little pricey for a meat and 3, plus a drink ($25).
It was my husband and I first time eating here. The food was good. We will definitely be back.
The food was well seasoned, cooked just right and the prices are excellent
The cream potatoes are almost as good as my grandmother's!
The food was fire!!! Omg.. so worth the money! I'll be back
Great food but "to go" container only allows small servings of veggies. A bit over priced for the veggie serving sizes.
Love the comfort food that is cooked so well, with friendly staff, service and clean tables it makes meal time like home.
Reminds me of Sundays at grandma's house.
Southern County Comfort Food
Great as usual didn't mind my wait for turkey and dressing on Sunday it was well worth the wait
Best southern food, omg. Catfish was divine. Mac n cheese was great. Really love this local joint
It's typically good-food and service and some days neither are worth the long wait.
My boyfriend took me there for Valentine's Day & the food was delicious yummy
. SWETT'S is great place eat. Recommended to anyone. All I can say if like good food this is the place on Nashville Tn
The food was good but they definitely jipp you when it comes to portion size. Silver sands is better and they give you your moneys worth.
Great people, excellent service and I got beef tips rice and cabbage...its was so delicious, I almost went and got another plate!
Delicious food. Good prices. Nice environment.
Fantastic food, friendly service, awesome buffet display and variety.
Everything was so good, loved the country fried steak/gravy, turnip greens, and casserole dish.
Excellent food so good, i'm stuffed. Homemade lemonade is the best I've ever tasted. Friendly service
Best meat and 3 in Nashville without the long lines at Arnold's. Great selection and cooked to perfection.
It's a very popular soul food restaurant.
Food is wonderful. Great country cooking, like I grew up with!
The food was great!! I had fried chicken, string beans, rice pilaf and coleslaw!
You don't need any salt or pepper!!!! Everything is seasoned perfectly. All of my food was delicious!!
The 2019 Nashville Civitan Awrds banquet was held here, and the food was great. A pleasant atmosphere and enjoyed experience.
Best Southern cooking in Nashville with a down home atmosphere. Servers are welcoming and friendly. A must when you are in Nashville.
I came here w/fiancé and family from out of state and the food we rec'd was excellent! We had a really good time. 🍝💗😀 …
The food is good and the environment is nice. I like going there whenever I can. Especially on Sundays.
AWESOME RESTAURANT 👍🏽😀

Great food, friendly staff and reasonable price.
A-maz-ing southern food! Almost as good as my granny can cook! I go here all the time to get my soul food fix!
Still one of my favorite Meat and Twos in Nashville. Very good food Clean inside dining
If you like home cooking you will love swetts. Amazing food!!! Great people
Honestly.....wasn't the best. Meatloaf was good, mac n cheese was pretty good, green beans - not so good. Pricey and over-rated
Pretty good for the most part. I eat Swetts At least once a week and always get the beef tips. I recommend the tips!
I have been going sense i was 5 grew up off of 28th ave north not like it use to be family i am 58 now to commercial now i remember when all it was homemade an affordable now it not homemade an over priced
Excellent food, superb service n safest place in town. 7 Metro P D officers eating their lunch too. Lol
Best food in Nashville! Been going my whole life and love it!!
Food was good but a bit pricey in comparison to other meat and threes
Sweets is old school Nashville soul food...been here forever and still some of the best country cooking around.
Delicious food and wonderful service. We loved the cafeteria style format.
It was good as usual.....this place never disappoints.Everything is home cooked and fresh ... deserves 10 stars
Food was great and people so friendly!
This diner has traditional food served in a traditional manner reflective of Southern charm and class.
My first visit, very good food! Staff is very polite. I'll be back
