I stop here when ever I'm heading across country. Everytime I've coming in. I've ordered something different. An each time I'm pleasantly surprised. Don't let the decor fool you. It may look rough but... Services is always friendly and quick. Food is excellent! Hot, fresh, and large portions for the price. I was a little surprised to see all new people this last time I came thru. But it didn't change the service. KUDO'S to all! Keep up the great job! I'll see u on my next stop thru!.

Husband and I visited after church for my birthday lunch. Staff were attentive and welcoming and the pizza tasted every bit as good as the Sal's slices we enjoyed outside of Fenway Park last week. Delicious!!

Here in Nashville TN for the weekend and Raiders & Titian’s game Sunday and we stopped here for dinner. Have to say first the service was exceptional. Our waiter was on point. Never did we have to go without anything he was around checking on everyone and handled all the customers without leaving anyone unattended. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and It was served to us as soon as it came out of the oven. Hot, cheesy pepperoni goodness. The pizza was delicious. No complaints. Didn’t grab our waiters name but he definitely was the best. Thank you.

I live near this one in Stewarts Ferry...the pizza is excellent. The crust is crisp and crunchy not soggy. The ingredients are awesome. I highly recommend this place for pizza. I have not tried other items on menu yet but will in the future. Great service and great food. Thank you for terrific meal.

We tried the Spaghetti and meatballs and Mushroom calzone...they both were Amazing.. 5 large meatballs topped of the Spaghetti with a very tasty sauce. The small calzone was really good and plenty for one person. Our waiter was really good and took care of all our needs. Their sweet tea is really good too.

Stopped on the way to the airport and was very surprised about the quality and flavors, not to mention the excellent service as well. Had the sausage calzone and the 2 slice pep lunch special. Both were very good! Will have to go back if ever in town again.

Large New York style pizza. Garlic bread was good. The marinara was fresh. Nice family atmosphere. The waiter was very patient with us and others with children. The location was close to our hotel but not much parking otherwise due to shared parking. Very evident that locals enjoyed the restaurant due to several carryout customers while we enjoyed our dining experience.

Nashville Pizza Guide

I've been on a quest to find the best pizza Nashville, so each week I find a place that serves pizza and simply order a cheese pizza. My thinking is that if they can make a BOMB cheese pizza then they have good pizza. "Best Pizza In Town" is a bold statement. The name of this place is "Sal's Pizza Restaurant". Pretty standard italian eatery here in Nashville. This particular location has a very truck stop/diner vibe probably since its attached to a gas station. This is my 2nd or 3rd visit in the past 3 months and each time the staff whomever it may be has been nice and adhering to covid19 guidelines. The pizza itself at first glance gave me the slightest inclination of disappointment. I felt like there was an Imbalance of cheese and sauce, but that is just an opinion. However that quickly went away as I began to eat it. It was pretty good pizza. Definitely not the best in town. It was cooked well, not a ton of grease, and tasted good overall and well worth my $15 I paid. While I don't think Sal's has the "Best Pizza In Town" they have yet to outright disappoint me. Which has merit in my book. If you're looking for nice customer service in a quite Italian eatery on the outskirts of Nashville then I suggest you give Sal's a go. Nashville Pizza Guide

Cool family place with excelkent food and a very friendly staff. Even though it's in a multi business complex it is easy to see from the road. They sell by the slice on red sauce pizzas. White sauce pies only sold as whole. Service was fast and prices are in line with this quality. They list as having s buffet on weekdays at specific times. Some outdoor seating available. Left over pizza just a good at home the next day.

Disappointed, opens at 11 and staff walk in at 11, nothing ready to go for lunch crowd. Usually you walk in a staff is there food is prepared. I don’t know folks, what’s missing? I love this place normally.

Being from New York and relocating to Nashville this was the first place that we were actually satisfied with their New York style pizza pies. We tried other local pizzaria's but they cut their pizza into about 20 slices that are triangles and squares. Real pizza should always be 8 slices in triangles unless it's a Sicilian pie which should be 12 slices in rectangles. The cheese and the sauce remind us of pizza from New York and their crusts are cooked just right. We have moved further away from this Sal's location but we still stop by Sal's for a pizza whenever we're close by.

A friend of mine told me about this place I finally got to go last night and eat the pizza was phenomenal service was excellent and we decided to dine inside the only complaint I had was it was so cold in there they had the air condition on obviously taking care of the people in the kitchen and freezing the ones that were sitting in the dining area I would highly recommend this place for service and quality of pizza I would definitely will be returning in regards to the staff as well as the cleanliness and the quality of the pizza I would give them 10 Stars if possible

Out of towner here. The single pizza slices were enormous! The wings were delicious, even though their "mild" heat is a medium anywhere else, lol. Very busy dinner hour, would advise ordering ahead, but if you walk in it may take about 15-20min during a busy time. Overall great place.

Limitless meatballs just like ma used to make and mind blowing garlic bread, along with true to life ny style pizza fresh from the oven. Salad and pasta too. It's a big man's wet dream, and that dream can be yours too for $9.99 11-2, M-F. Everything else on the menu is slather yourself in marinara sexy good too. If living in a one horse town with britch busting ambition has got you down, be glad you got a big fat smiling Italian uncle welcoming you with arms wide open just a few miles east. Love you Sal.

Went in during dinner time around 2 days ago with about a group of 6 friends we ordered and although the food was a little expensive but it was definitely worth it. I’m from N.J. originally, and Sal’s is equal to or better than anywhere I’ve been to from Memphis to Knoxville. The eggplant parm is always perfectly cooked. The meatballs are delicious and paired with the sweet sausage, make a meal of their own. If you’ve never been, shame on you!! If you want authentic Italian food, nowhere else compares. The plain oversized cheese pizza is a work of art! Don’t walk, run and get some now!!!

I was self admittedly timid toward the idea of trying Sal's during a time that I was staying in the area but once I did I was hooked. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything I have tried this far has been excellent. I especially like their spaghetti. The cost may seem high until you see the portions, then it all makes sense. I often order a child's portion, and still it's more than one meal for me. Highly recommend!

This wonderful Pizzeria has the same Quality, as they did 11 years ago when we first frequented it. NY Style Pizza...Fantastic. A taste of home. My only suggestion is to at least have a Keurig Coffee Maker on hand; as not everyone can drink soda or beer (alcohol). Bottled water would also be a plus. The Tiramisu was "to die for". You won't be disappointed...

Funny isn't it... 1st review Got NY style by the slice (pepperoni & mushrooms) on Sunday... It's very hard to beat... Based from my one experience eating there, their pizza is better than 5points... So I have not had a great pizza in the 11 years since I moved to Nashville from West Tennessee. We had a Milanos Pizza in Whiteville Tn that was great. I compare every pizza with their great food and I am so glad someone told me to try Sal's. The pizza was great! It was as great as Milanos pizza and that is hard to accomplish. I thank you Sal's pizza for the very best pizza I've had in 11 years.

I enjoyed a pizza here with my girlfriend and loved everything about the place. It felt like the closest thing to a slice of NY pizza near my place. A note to any end of the night customers, please do not come in at 8:30 or later expecting to dine in because they will politely show you the door.(Got to witness that in person)

I started going to Sal's almost 25 years ago when it was New York Experience. Because of a local (ANTIOCH) New York style pizza place going SOUTH with quality and high NORTH with prices, I decided it was worth a few minutes drive to get awesome quality with a price to match. The only thing I was disappointed about was calamari is no longer on the menu. It's certainly worth the extra few minutes to get EXCELLENT New York style pizza at a much more favorable price. If you're into spinach pizza, you'll get fresh spinach on this one. They're open until 10 p.m. Fridays. I will try the Specialties I enjoy, and continue to report back.

Pizza is pretty good. However I’m not a fan of the lunch buffet. I have been there three times now for lunch. Every time I go, I’m in hopes that they would get the service right. Some of the buffet items are always empty and never refilled. For instance, eggplant today I saw someone take the last slice around noon. I stayed and ate until almost 1pm. They never refilled the tray. Also two other items were never refilled. They had a constant stream of people purchasing the buffet, but 1/4 of the items were missing from the get go. So it’s not all you can eat, it’s all you can get until it’s gone. All three experiences are the same. Nobody ever walks by to monitor how much food is left, and never keeps the trays filled with food. Even when I’m the first customer, the trays are almost empty.

Was in the area and decided to stop by for a delicious slice of cheese pizza. Now Sal’s is not gourmet but it is solid quality food served by some wonderful people. While Sal may not be with us any longer, his delicious recipes are served up to folks who enjoy that old school Italian experience. I would compare a slice of pie from Sal’s to what I grab on the streets of Queens, NY. Not only do they serve pizza, their lunch buffet during the week is a great deal.

Ordered an XL Pepperoni Sicilian pizza on a trip to Nashville a couple weeks ago. The actual pizza was okay (7.3 out of 10) but Sal and I go way back so it was overall a great experience! It would be a 4 star experience but the guy on the other end didn't know where Nissan Stadium was. Also disappointed that I didn't see Sal Vulcano upon arrival but I'd eat there again.

Sal's is always very good but they forgot my extra sauce on my pizza and when they brought me a little thing of sauce it was ice cold it's not the same if you don't cook it in the pizza I go there because of the flavor of their sauce I just wish that they would put it on when you ask for it

So the food was the bomb for real💣🔥 as it always is haven't had a bad food experience yet and tried a lot of their items... however the service was horrible it seems 8 out of 10 times they are rude. The price online is half what it is in-store. The salad says 6.99 in store they told us it was 11.99. He got loud with us so we ended up getting pizza. Disappointed.

Sal's is always on point. From their pizza to their Stromboli everything tastes great. I'm from Jersey, and their pizza is the closest to being back home in the hermitage area. Service staff is always helpful and attentive, food comes out hot, and never left wanting more.

Only authentic "New York" style pizza in TN as far as I know. If that's what you crave, you will NOT be disappointed. Their pastas are to die for. These guys are the real deal. I only gave four stars instead of five because I always get the buffet and sometimes you have to wait a bit for a pizza with toppings other than pepperoni.

Server over charged us for a soft drink that was in fact a water, once brought to her attention she asked if I was sure I'd not had a soda to which she again asked why she would do that? The pizza is OK. I moved to TN from the Chicago area so I admit I'm picky about pizza. I prefer thin and crispy but even when I ask them to make it as thin as possible, it still isn't thin and crispy. But they try. I like a plain cheese pizza and it is OK has a decent taste. I haven't tried any other meals there. BUT, their tiramisu is awesome. I generally get 4 at a time and eat 2 one night and 2 the next. It's worth it to get the OK pizza to get the awesome tiramisu!!

I hate to say it but it’s not a New York slice. They put in the effort and they’re other food is good but not worth it for the pizza. I’m from New York. I’ve had 32 years of eating real pizza (on a weekly basis lol) If you want a real NY slice go to NY Pie or 5 Points to be honest. Those are the closest Places you’ll find down here for a legit slice.

Now ,I've tried every place, from Manny's to Joey's, Houses of pizza ,which are both great ! HOWEVER ,was astontished to realize how good their pizza was ! They close early ,only draw back ! The pizza is fantastic but a little pricy. I got 1 med 14", 1 2-litter coke, 1 beer while I wait (will call in next time) and it was $25. As stated before, if you plan on picking up, make sure to call ahead or you will be waiting 30mins. Overall good experience and will go back.

Great food, good people. You can get pizza by the slice anytime or get the buffet during lunch hours. There's a dining room with TVs so you can eat in if you prefer. Cold beer & pizza. Perfect mix.

Sal’s Pizza in Nashville is more than just pizza, it’s amazing Italian food. Just had the Eggplant Parmesan and I cleaned my plate. Great pizza, calzones, zeppoli - it’s all delish. Service is great. Staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

For a place that sits adjacent to several hotels, I expected a mediocre experience at best. Was I wrong! The stromboli was among the best I've ever had, the server was attentive as well as a sweetheart, and the portion was huge for the price I paid. This has to be one of Nashville's best kept secrets!

Honestly it's a decent lunch buffet provided you don't go for the pizza. The pizza crust is the wettest and soggiest I've ever eaten. No teeth no problem cause you won't need them to eat this pizza. "Sals Soggy Pizza" or "Sals Steamed Pizza" may be better names to suit expectation..

I'm not sure what some of these other reviews are mentioning, my experience was excellent. I dropped by on a Friday afternoon, seated immediately, and the service was prompt. The garlic bread was alright, but the pizza was great.

Really?...this comment is aimed towards the person that said they went and got ignored by cashier 3 different times...How??? I feel like that is exaggerated. anyways...I love pizza and I live in Donelson. When it comes to pizza delivery here you have a few choices choices: chain pizza, E. Milano's, Sal's, Little Italy's, and the other places I have yet to try. If you want pizza fresh and by the slice from the restaurant, Sal's wins easily. If specialty pizza's what you're wanting then you may want to go to E. Milano's. For standard pizzas though I think they are about the same. If you're looking for a nice inside dining experience Little Italy wins but not by much because the plaza its in is a hot mess aesthetically. Great pizza by the slice from 11am-7pm. If that's what you're looking for then go here, I highly recommend it. Giving it 5 stars simply because I think the other dude is lying about not getting waited on.
