Reviews of Redheaded Stranger
I think they are still doing a kind of covid/order counter thing. We were standing in line outside before we could come in and order before we sat down. I think it would be a more fun hangout to sit at the bar and have drinks and tacos. But it was not a long wait. We were just passing through for lunch and both of us locked in on the green chili cheeseburger. We decided to split it with some tots. It was delicious. Based on the burger, I'm assuming everything else is equally delicious. I wouldn't mind stopping back in for the full experience if we are back in the the area.
CHEF BRETT MADE THE BEST D*MN BURGER IVE HAD IN MY LIFE!!! This was my second time visiting Nashville and I had to stop in The Red Headed Stranger for my foodie fix. I showed their Instagram page and asked for the menu item recently posted. Turns out it was a Sloppy double bacon smash burger and every bite was tastier than the last. The pairing of burger topping truly complimented each other and could taste the quality of products. Everything is made to order, prepared in house and worth it. The green salsa was delicious. Clean dining area, plenty of menu options, and patio setup + decor was so cute. Attentive staff and constantly maintaining restaurant. Until next year but I’ll be back!
We had a delicious lunch at this Southwestern eatery in East Nashville. The desert pastel cafe with cheeky humor delivered on great food and staff! Fresh tortillas, Hatch Green Chile on the cheeseburger, Mexican Mocha... the list goes on. Loved it!
Restaurant is pet friendly. Ate inside with my puppy. Food took a while because lots of people there at lunch. Freshly made tortillas! Queso could be improved but food was great. They had special event with roasting and selling hatch green chilies from New Mexico. Super cool!!!
I know Nashville has an incredible range of excellent burger places but today really was what I believe to be the best Smashburger I’ve had. Redheaded Stranger does a green chili cheeseburger with loaded tater tot‘s that is so awesome, my opinion it’s the best burger in Nashville They say their specialty is tacos and burritos but the Burger to me really is deserving of a lot of attention. Perfect in so many ways and the combination of flavors really is a unique burger experience. Delicous, hearty, wow! The first picture is the double with “loaded“ tater tots the second photo is the single patty with simple tater tots no topping.
This is a pretty solid taco and food spot with consistently good experiences every time I have gone. I'd say the tacos are a bit pricey considering what you're getting but they're overall pretty good. The green chile cheeseburger is pretty underrated...that has been one I've craved most times I have gone.
Regardless of if you get tacos, burgers or crunchwraps, absolutely make sure you get the sauces. Those'll make your meal go for great to excellent...especially that Dr. Pepper sauce.
Food tacos I had were very rich in flavor, also ordered the tator tots which were not that great only ate a couple. The drinks were strong but not in a bad way. The outdoor area was cute, could have used maybe a couple more umbrellas for shade. The staff was very friendly.
Holy moly. Just go! No other Mexican spots compare. I got the crunch wrap-which is an ethereal experience.
Edit: loved it to much had to go back to get another fix before heading out! Idk what they put in the Dr Pepper sauce it’s divineee
Everything is good. The tacos are small but tasty. The crunch wrap was really good. The cookie was really good.
Had a great time at this taco place. It was fun having some new styles of tacos and the atmosphere was lovely. The queso with tortillas was delicious and the homemade tortillas were a great feature! I really enjoyed the shredded chicken taco as well :)
Visiting a friend in Nashville and he brought us here for breakfast 2/3 days we were in town. It did not disappoint. Amazing breakfast tacos. I had the Xmas special crunch wrap which was INSANELY good. The Bloody Mary’s are also delicious — spicy and is a little chunky, but very drinkable. Highly recommend.
Wow, if I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! The food was DELICIOUS. I wanted to keep eating even after I was full. The staff is super nice. We got a 2,3,5,7, a crunchwrap and a latte for dessert. The tortillas are made fresh in-house. This is my new favorite spot, we will definitely stop to eat here every time we visit!!!!
Tacos were hitting!!!! Everyone was nice and the food was everything! Tortillas, chef's kiss. Picture is taco #5 but the bean and cheese taco was my fave.
stopped in Nashville for quick lunch and found Red-headed stranger on Google. We thought we must be at a good place cuz they were still pretty crowded at 2:00 in the afternoon. Tacos are delicious and filling, of course I had 3. Spice sauces are very favorfull with just the right amount of heat. Handcrafted tortillas creative artisan touch, Warm and tasty. Also the tomato sandwich with guacamole and added bacon was was light and festive delight to my taste buds. Offered many cocktails, mine was slightly stout, The stranger. Queso is served with tortillas, # no*uckingchips. Ate outside on their patio with eclectic seating. Enjoyable
This is a MUST try! I had the green chile cheeseburger and the spicy tots with homemade ranch. Both were delicious!
Great delicious tacos so many different types all clearly described on the menu. The food was excellent the service was excellent. Also great selection of beer but only can soft drinks and you're looking at spending about four bucks a piece for the tacos
Delightful selection of tacos make for a perfectly hot meal on a cold day! I tried the saucy brisket taco (#7) and the chorizo + scrambled egg taco (#2). Unique ingredient combos pack big flavor into both of these tacos; I definitely recommend them.
Side note: parking can be a little confusing.
My boyfriend and I saw this place on Guy's Triple D. It did not disappoint! Had the 3and 7 tacos, tatchos and a crunch wrap. It was Amazing! Sauces were great! Staff was friendly and helpful, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Excellent experience! Gave this spot a try as I had just recently learned about it. The food was amazing and the service was friendly. Where do I start….. The Pork Green Chili is delicious with just the right amount of bite, IMHO. The Tatchos are a must try! And to top it all off the tacos are just plain deliciousness. Can’t go wrong with any of them. If I remember right I had the #3 and #5. We will definitely be back!
Very, very good burger. I have heard a lot about this and it definitely lived up to the hype. The Totchos were amazing as well.
Pretty cool spot. They’ve got some unique menu items. Personally I loved the chopped brisket taco🌮 & the frozen strawberry margarita was everything! Would def recommend if you’re looking for something a little different!
Food was very tasty, service a little on the slow side. Parking for this place was a joke, there was none AND no parking on the street near the eatery either. If you can find parking, I say give it a try, you won't be disappointed. The homemade flour tortillas were delicious 😋
Tried this place based off reviews. Don’t let the location prevent you from trying it out. The set up inside was cute and the outside had patios and you can bring your dog if you sit outside. The breakfast tacos seemed smaller than usual and the bacon is over powering.
This is a quintessential Nashville spot. Non-pretentious, casual and damn good eats. Sip your margarita and chow down on a gorgeous variety of delicious tacos on the patio while gazing at downtown Nashville. Spend the rest of your day licking your lips and planning your return
Everything they make is packed with flavor…
and most of the time cheese. 🤤🤤
The Crunchwrap is insane. Taco Bell WHO?? My life is forever changed.
Buy their hot sauces to take home. Put them on everything. Trust me.
The food was decent but nothing to write home about. Would have loved more of a spicy kick from their side sauces. I had the #2 and tots it was decent but everything tasted mild. The inside had a very eclectic atmosphere that gave off was like a small town Arizona desert mom and pop run restaurant Parking is limited and the seating spaces seems to grossly outnumber the spots available in their parkinglot. I suggest getting the food to go as parking is rough. All in all decent food and decent service nothing bad, but on the flip side nothing exceptional either. Solid choice for an everyday meal but no real wow factor that makes them stand out (other then they have something against chips with queso and will give you tortillas instead).
The place was awesome. Tacos were fantastic (#1 breakfast taco! #6 and #7) also got their donut of the day, all of which sent my tastebuds into a delightful frenzy. Luke, the cashier, was also super nice and provided great recommendations. A little pricey for a taco but the freshly made tortillas made it worth it. This is an East Nashville gem.
Been meaning to visit here for a couple years, but rarely make it to that side of town. Did not disappoint. Food was amazing and the watermelon special we ordered was such a hit that everyone else on the patio went back in to order one. Just trying to find an excuse to make the drive back over.
FANTASTIC tacos. The bacon and brisket tacos were especially good. I heard the tater tot one is amazing as well, will have to get that later.
I especially appreciate breakfast tacos being available all day. Breakfast food should not be relegated to one time of day.
Yes.
Lovely tortillas, banging fillings, well loved food
The TEXTURES *mwah*
The pickle side is amazing, sweet, a little sour, not too salty -- some one really cares and you can definitely taste it.
I will 💯 be back to work my way through the menu but do not miss the poblano and whipped feta taco - even if you're an omnivore this thing is a freaking delight
Pictured is the barbacoa, look at those vibrant af ingredients!!
Friendly and attentive staff, good location with many seating options, all around a win.
Love this place. Haven’t had a taco I haven’t liked. The green chile burger is superb. The cocktails are good, as well. One of my fave spots in the city.
I’ve been to RHS a few times and have sampled much of their menu, so I won’t go over every option, and will instead list the hits; the tacos are great, and you’ll want two or three per meal. I’m partial to the pulled pork taco and the tater tot taco.
The fresh tortillas with queso aren’t to be missed, you’ll want way more tortillas than one order. They’ll also let you sub out for guac if you want, and they do an excellent guacamole.
The green Chile burger is one of the best burgers you’re liable to have in Nashville, and at $6 for a single it’s a steal.
I love Redheaded Stranger, and would recommend it to anyone!
Love RHS! Always so yummy. The bean and cheese burrito, crunchwraps and burger are some of our favorites. Also the $8 is droolworthy! Specials are the best. Always get the queso to dip everything in.
Tacos are good everything else on this menu is absolutely garbage. The Crunchwrap and burrito typically fall apart within minutes so unless you are there to eat it I would never order them as a pickup option.
Shout out to the crew here, they really know how to work as a team and everyone looks like they love to work here. Tacos were awesome and so was the crunchwrap. Try the totchos, they’re so good! Worth the short wait.
Was told the barbacoa taco was the jam and it was true af. Enjoyed two other tacos and a side of guacamole to go. Ordering was easy and pickup was quick. Would recommend!
Absolutely incredible restaurant that I highly recommend to everyone. The margaritas are amazing, the poblano whipped feta taco is unreal, and the Green Chile Cheeseburger is my favorite burger in all of Nashville. They have a beautiful patio that is good for safe social distanced eating, and it is equipped with heaters in the winter and fans in the summer.
Red Headed Stranger never lets you down! Have been here 7-9x in the past year or so and everyone I bring here loves it. Staff is friendly, vibe is vintage/relaxed inside, outside patio is perfect for warmer days, and their margaritas are on point! Taco #9 is my favorite. Definitely a place to stop in a cute neighborhood in the East Nash’ish area 🌮
Homemade tortillas, fresh delicious tacos, rotating margaritas. All before noon! Look no further than this hip taco/bar.
Service was great and the food outstanding. Went there for brunch back to back. I want one of these to pop up in Chicago =)
One of my favorite places! Those tacos will cure any sort of mood. A neat little spot where the staff is always friendly, and the food, always amazing.
The Original Crunchwrap was 🔥 love the location style too! #chefsdeal …
Fantastic tacos, full bar, plus Expresso bar. If you're looking for breakfast or lunch tacos this is the spot. Outdoor seating available.
You've also got to try the burger.
I had the single green chili burger and totchos. The burger bun was toasted. The bacon was a thicker strip and well cooked. The burger had just a bit of pink in the middle. Tasted very good. The totchos were cooked perfectly. They were browned and crisp on the outside. The crispness even held up with the cheese and sour cream sitting on it while I ate the burger. The atmosphere was laid back with a number of people enjoying themselves but not so loudly as to disturb others.
Absolutely great food! Not your normal taco joint! Be prepared to try something amazing inside their MADE TO ORDER buttery tortilla shells. The totchos and queso were amazing as well. Oh and them Margaritas.....you can’t go wrong eating here, especially if you’re adventurous. The atmosphere all the way around is inviting! This place did NOT disappoint.
Great casual spot to snag tacos or a burger. The patio is built nicely and you can watch the staff make all of their tortillas in house from scratch. I’d say that this spot is perfect for a small group and there are a number of vegetarian friendly options.
I love this place! The food is always fresh and hot!!!! Tacos are small but they are packed full of ingredients! Located in a non super busy part of town!!!! I will be coming back till I try everything on the menu.
If you are in nashville, this place is a must . The tacos here are amazing, they make home made flour tortillas and the queso with the green Chile and chorizo is a must. My wife and I tried majority of the tacos and there is no wrong choice.
Loved this place!! My brother and I came in from out of town to watch a Houston vs Tennessee football game and this place felt like home ❤️ The tacos were exceptional and reasonably priced. The service was wonderful and very friendly. I also really appreciate that they were willing to accommodate certain dietary restrictions without questioning. Our only complaint was the coffee tasted a little weak, but we're very particular about our coffee ☕
I found out about Redheaded Stranger via Instagram recently and decided to check it out on a day off from work. I ordered 3 tacos and they were much bigger than expected. I left stuffed! All were delicious. I also had a good Mimosa. The atmosphere is nice. It's super cute. All staff was very friendly. I'll definitely be back!
Great place and delicious food. A bit on the spendier side, but I keep going back. The kitchen is almost always backed up so make sure to get 2 drinks when you order.
This place is delicious, but expect to pay a premium for a small portion meal. That alone kills my enthusiasm on going back often, but the lack of parking pushes way down my list. Definitely worth a try and make up your own decision though.
If I am being honest, the vibe of this place outweighs the goodness of the food, although in a positive way. The interior reminded me of California with the succulents and style of artwork. It was also slightly eclectic, one of my favorite things in a restaurant. The food itself was great. I got numbers 3 and 8, or the poblano and the shredded chicken taco. Both were pretty tasty, except I enjoyed the chicken one more. The poblano one didn’t have too much flavor. All of the hot sauces were very enjoyable and added great taste to the tacos. The queso was smoky and creamy. The sweet tea was amazingly refreshing and tasted like it had stevia in it. The type of people going here seemed really cool too. The line was long and we had to stand outside. It’s a fairly small place size wise. Overall I think this place is a solid 4 star quickish tex-mex restaurant.
If you enjoyed this review and would like to show it, let me know on venmo @liabelleb05
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The quality of everything was top of the line. Will not be able to visit Nashville without coming here everytime!
Love the food. But hardly ever get to eat here because of the line 😢
Very popular place and single order system creates long line that extends outside Oh well. Sometimes I get lucky and can make it in …
This will be my new favorite restaurant for a very long time. The brisket taco with egg and cheese was outstanding. Fresh, homemade tortillas and salsa compliment this amazing food. I’m coming back for the green chili burger and more brisket!
Cool hole in the wall Taco restaurant. Good food and all fresh down to every detail. Great atmosphere, very relaxed
The food was good but the wait time after ordering was bad. We stopped for a lunch, 3 different tacos, queso and flour tortillas.
The food was good. But after waiting an hour for the food, it was a little let down.
Great food!! Loved the brisket taco and Totchos!! But the burger was incredible! Every bite bursting with amazing flavors!
Handmade tortillas, breakfast tacos, green chili cheeseburgers, whipped feta, full espresso bar, Dr. Pepper hot sauce, funky Southwest vibe that reminds me of old school diners in New Mexico. Thumbs up.
We had amazing tacos here, brisket and pulled pork. Scratch-made tortillas were delicious. This destination is worth making a special trip and whatever wait you might encounter. Being prepared to eat outside could improve your odds of finding a place to sit.
I don't get it. Barbacoa taco - flavorless. Pulled pork taco was smokey and tender. Frito pie, a lot of Fritos... saving grace was adding a side of chili to fix the pie right. Nothing was piping hot, just warm. Place is busy. Order took a while to come out.. Parking is a hassle.
Absolutely great tacos. My buddy walked out swearing that the green pepper burger was the best burger he's ever eaten. Staff is super friendly, and I had a pretty awesome latte. Overall superb experience.
Best tacos in Nashville. They do it Texas style the right way. Phenomenal burger as well.
It's one of our nieces favorite places in East Nashville & I can see why. Excellent. Definitely going back.
On my 40th birthday, Willie Nelson dedicated a performance of
Redheaded Stranger to me...but that's a story for another time:). It may explain in small part why I find Redheaded Stranger an amazing place:) The RHS staff is wonderful--welcoming, helpful and always animated. They make me feel like family. The menu captures many of the traditional flavors of the Southwest at the same time it adds new twists to Southern traditions. As a recent transplant from New Mexico, visiting RHS is a little taste of home:) There is NOTHING like NM green Chile and as far as I can tell this is the only place in Nashville that has the real deal. But I've also enjoyed trying items like the pulled pork burrito... and WHO could resist the Dr Pepper BBQ sauce?! The correctly prepared Texas red Chili (NO BEANS ALLOWED!) is flavorful and has a nice kick. And did I mention the homemade tortillas? I can make my own but these are SO good I love to just come by and pick some up to use for my own recipes. I also appreciate a place with an excellent expresso so they check the box on that as well. I only wish I lived nearer so I could come more frequently, but any time I'm in the neighborhood I stop by! HIGHLY recommend.
Uh yes please. I love this place. So freaking good. The burger is good, the tacos are good and the frozen margs are not shy of tequila. My wife and I had a great time. They were very busy but the staff was so kind and courteous we never minded the wait. I only took pics of my wife drinking because I was drinking too and didn’t think about it. Haha. It was a great experience.
If I could give this place more stars, I would!
We drove an hour to eat here and I told my boyfriend I would drive back simple for the queso and tortillas. Service was fast and friendly. You can watch them making the tortillas. Menu is a little limited but for sure, venture out of your comfort zone. Drinks were a little pricy but my margarita was very strong, like I like. We will be returning for sure. Location is kind of small so it’s not well suited for big groups but it is a must visit restaurant for sure!
Great Mexican food with unique combinations. We had a couple of the taco varieties and one of the wraps. All were excellent. Prices were very reasonable as well. Worth the trip of you are near downtown Nashville. It's off the beaten path in a neighborhood a little past the stadium and top golf.
I’ve heard great things about this place except they are slow! Friends recommended the green hatch Chile cheeseburger. Amazing. Devoured. Even told my friends in New Mexico how great it is. Haven’t found a SW style burger here in Nash until now! Will return
Great house made taco restaurant with some great specials. Great cocktails too!
LOVE this place. Their tortillas are homemade and are the best I’ve had in my life. Every taco is delicious, you cannot go wrong. But the breakfast ones are the easy favorites. Very affordable and they have a great outdoor patio. Margs are yummy and the tots are fire.
Great food, friendly staff and some knockout frozen drinks... Better get over there and try them out. It's a neighborhood place with handmade tortillas. Decision made.
Go for the food, not much atmosphere and basically no service as you order, pay & wait (and wait and wait) for a runner to deliver your order.
Delicious crunchwraps!
Delicious moreish food in an unfussy environment.
I finally got off work at a convenient time to try this recent arrival to East Nashville and will most definitely be returning.
Upon arrival I was greeted by a bustling environment and a smile from the counter staff who were dealing with a group ahead of me. The group behind me were informed of a 30 min wait, I shrugged my shoulders and hoped it was worth the time.
My food arrived within 15 mins, a little smaller than I hoped but delicious none the less.
Every bite made me smile, each morsel had a statisfying crunch of hash brown and the cheesy meaty amalgamation I expect from a burrito. The fresh tomatoes saved it from being too heavy or overseasoned.
I can tell they are still working out some work flow kinks but I'll be back, with family in tow to sample your other tasty options.
#8 (poblano, cheese, crispy rice) is great. Vibe is awesome. Loved our time!
Will definitely be back. Really good food, long wait but it was peak lunch time on a Sunday. Parking is challenging since this is in a neighborhood but we got lucky.
This place. Is fantastic. I don’t even like tacos that much but I CRAVE this place. Open more locations. Everywhere. Please.
The food was good... although highly touted as having Hatch chile.... And being raised in New Mexico and growing up with the chile. Redheadeds chile was extremely bland and definitely had no heat.
Get the crunch wrap. I would order 2. Everything from here is phenomenal. Just beware there’s limited parking. But worth it 100%.
Probably the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had - and the tacos are incredible too. Only problem is the line- word is out
A little chaotic but really delish... we have some experienced drinkers but unless your goal is to get hammered the drinks are quite strong
Such a delightful experience! The food, the decor, the mantra, the cocktails! Such a blessing to stumble upon this East Nashville place. Green Chile Burger is magnifi!
Best green chili burger ever
Handmade cooked to perfection
Service fabulous and cocktailS divine
Saw it on Trilpe D abd couldn’t wait to try
Jersey to Nashville best food
Just incredible. Came back multiple times during my visit to Nashville. Best queso I've ever had. A must go
My new favorite taco place in Nashville. Super creative menu and really great execution.
I love this place. Its electic and comfortable. The food is original and yummy. Try it if you like Tex Mex! I suggest 7 to start!
Great Customer Service. Great seating options! Loved the patio area. The food was really good! Different but familiar enough to enjoy. Seasoned to perfection!
Love this place! The crunchwraps and queso are so so good, and I appreciate the vegetarian options! The customer service is also excellent - everyone seems like they’re happy to be there!
Great food! Had the barbacoa taco. Great first date, where better to meet a Redheaded Stranger than here?😁 …
Every taco, every tatcho, every margarita is fantastic every time. I highly recommend the #7 (beef brisket) and #8 (poblano pepper with whipped feta) tacos ... as well any other damn thing you see in their menu. You honestly can't go wrong. Avoid busy times if you don't wanna be overwhelmed with tourists.
Very very tasty tacos. Reminded me of old school Torchys. Just wish there were chips!
Really fun atmosphere, super friendly staff, excellent food and drinks, AND great prices! Definitely a must-visit!
The pulled pork and chorizo taco were awesome. Their "Chill Bill" frozen cocktail is great, it taste like a red, white and blue popsicle. They taste sweet and will get you the perfect amount of turnt.
Loved the Brisket Tacos, Strawberry Margaritas and FaceTime’ing w/my Grizzly Bass pedal at Red Headed Stranger.
Small portions but great food. Had the tachos (nachos but with tater tots) and #1 which is bacon tater tots and scrambled eggs. Margarita was 💪🏾. I'd definitely back …
Amazing! Most luxurious tacos I've had in the last five years! We ordered 6, 7, and 8 (brisket, green chiles and feta, tater tots)!
Great vegetarian taco option and I hear the meat ones were awesome too. Cutesy simple diner setting.
Amazing nutritious and tasty food in a very open and warm dining environment <3
Great experience for lunch today. Staff is awesome, food is awesome. Go get some! 😊🍴 #FoodiesOfNashville
Always so torn between the burger or the crunch wrap. If it’s your first time, maybe start with some of the “texmex” options. You really can’t go wrong but be wary of the glow up.
So glad I found this place online. The food was delicious. Brisket and chorizo tacos were our favorite. But everything was amazing. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely will be back next time we are in town!
Everything is listed on the wall what to order. You have to walk in through what looks like the side door. Parking is weird, you can't park near the building because all the residents have permit parking only. So you have to park a block away almost and walk.
I’ve lived in Nashville for 7 years. This is my new favorite food spot. I’ll be here every week!
Line was long, but the drinks were great. Would be 5 stars but one of the tacos I ordered said "poblano" listed in its ingredients on the menu which turned out to be a WHOLE ROASTED POBLANO PEPPER inside of the taco, seeds and everything. I did not expect that and wouldn't have ordered it if I had known, an entire poblano pepper is too spicy for me.
The food here is seriously delicious, the décoré is fun, staff are great. Excellent experience.
The food was good no complaints on that. I gave it 3 stars for the simple reason when the young man took my order didn't give me my card back. I sat outside and waited on my order for about 3-5 min and he didn't realize he didn't hand me my card back I had back track my activity to figure out where my card was. There was no I'm sorry for the inconveniences just here is your card.
Wow, great tacos. I was a little suspicious because they came wrapped in foil, but the meat was tender and juicy and well spiced. Drinks are basic but reasonably priced, get a marg and don't get fancy.
Looooove this place! From the southwest vibe to the frozen margaritas to the incredible breakfast taco with tater tots, this place is a gem in East Nashville and a must visit.
Great burger, the house-made tortillas are awesome.
Great little place. Was looking for something different for breakfast while in Tennessee from Texas. This is a must breakfast place. Great Tacos and burritos.
Completely agree with the other reviewer: best tacos in Nashville. We tried pretty much everything on the menu and would recommend: #2 Chorizo & eggs, #7 Chopped brisket, and #9 Pulled pork tacos. We also loved the Green Chile Cheeseburger and the side of Queso. The tots are nice, but unremarkable. We’ll be back!
Great food here! The tortillas are so delicious, as is the Crunchwrap & Tacos! Do not miss out on their homemade hot sauces either!
I love their tacos, but actually getting food there can be challenging. Communication via website or phone is often cut off during busy hours, and wait times grow exceptionally long on weekends. Unless you've planned well ahead, don't visit at a peak hour, but do visit when things are a little less busy for some great tacos!
Good, but not good enough to tell someone to go there, thr place seemed dirty and for it being on DDD's, I guess I had higher expectations!
Really good food! Great customer service! Limited parking and generally long lines, but worth the wait!
Love the hand rolled tortillas! Lots of really awesome tacos! The chicken or pork taco with the Dr Pepper sauce.....Amazing! Also, a comfortable and trendy ambiance. Can't wait to go back!
Tacos here are great! My favorite part was the incredible fresh flour tortillas. It is one of those things that 100% makes a difference. I had the tater tot taco and the whipped feta taco. The tater tot taco is good, there’s a good mix of flavors and the tater tots stand up in the taco. The whipped feta taco was great, it has great flavor and even more incredible texture. I really enjoyed the crunch of the crispy rice inside the poblano with feta. Overall great experience and would definitely come again
Wow, unexpectedly great tacos even coming in for the first time with high expectations. Expertly smoked brisket, best smoked chicken I’ve had in Nashville, all on fresh house made tortillas. Cool atmosphere, super chill and welcoming staff. This is a must-eat place. Go there.
Good place for novelty crunch wraps and comfort food. Their RHS Burrito is an absolute must!
Affordable, quick service, friendly staff. Food was very good. I would prefer they had chips though but not their thing.
Such a fun variety of tacos. Who knew Nashville would bring me some of the best tacos I've ever had?? Can't beat the prices either!
I love this place. However, $35 for 4 really small tacos, some cheese dip & tortillas and one small bowl of tater tots is really high. While I do love the food, I don't love the cost. It's pricey, but worth the occasional treat because the food is great and they make their own tortillas. Their burgers are also really good and the meat is local from Bear Creek Farm where my GF works. Best beef in all of Tennessee! Burgers are priced right at about $6.
Wow the burger was soooooo gooooood!!!! And the crunch wrap!!!!!!! We also got a brisket taco it was very good but the others were just amazing! We ordered another 2 more of each because we live an hour away, I’m so sad! I love the homemade tortillas!
I really like the barbacoa and my husband really likes the burger. But we haven't had anything bad on the menu! I like to order the whipped feta taco when I am feeling fancy - it hits all the highlights with sweet, sour, crunchy all wrapped in a perfect tortilla.
Literally the best tacos of my entire life! I could eat them every single day 😍 …
Just moved to Nashville and this place is in walking distance!!! So happy about that! Had friends here for a visit and thought we would try it. It was a crisp beautiful day and we were lucky enough to be able to sit outside for lunch. The Brisket Tacos were outstanding. Service was great. This is such a great place!
Heirloom tomato sandwich is amazing. Crunch wrap is also great - I had the x-mas style. We were less happy with the tacos, but may have just chosen poorly. The red and green chili are both excellent, though. You probably can't go wrong with anything containing those.
Best breakfast tacos! If you’re looking for fresh, thick, tasty tortillas this is the spot. The chorizo is juicy, bacon thick & crispy. Order was ready for pickup in about 10 minutes. Be sure to order some hot sauce too.
It's everything you've ever dreamed of.
This place is great, the burger is sneaky very good. Breakfast tacos and barbacoa were my favorite, very good margs. I think my favorite aspect of RS is their homemade tortillas - noticeable difference putting them above other tacos shops. Great atmosphere that perfects the "fast casual experience".
This place is amazing! The tacos are oh my gosh to die for! The guacamole and cheese dip is the best I’ve ever had! The price is amazing as well! It’s a must try!
Great spot in East Nashville! Not quite as good as Mas Tacos but definitely up there and doing their own thing. Really enjoyed the burrito!
Came here last Friday and I quite literally can’t stop thinking about this place. The menu? To the point. The queso? Heavenly. The homemade fresh tortillas? Works of art. The tacos? Holy f#@% amazing. Can’t wait for my next visit.
This place is delicious. I had the RHS burrito and it's the best "breakfast" burrito I've ever had. The multitude of flavors combined to make every bite a pleasure. I also had the brisket taco and a side of tater tots. The brisket with the caramelized onions melt in your mouth. The tots tasty and crispy, and they come with a great cream sauce. Overall, I'm a big fan of the Redheaded Stranger now. I look forward to trying more.
House made tortillas and excellent drinks. It doesn’t get much better!
The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to make a surprise drink. <3
Love this little place, food is always great margaritas are great too.
First time here, overall really enjoyed it. Couple things to be aware of. First, hours are limited, check before you go. Second, the seating is limited and you might be stalking people as they leave. I assume this will be less of an issue when the deck is open.
Food? It was good! Best burger in town? Nah, but it's definitely worth a try. Spiced Tots were interesting, almost a spicy and sweet spice on them? RHS Burrito was pretty good, but the most bland thing we had. They have some salsas on the tables that were nice, whatever the yellow / orange one was enjoyable on the burrito. Overall, worth a second shot for sure.
Ate here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I enjoyed the food. To celebrate my wife's birthday she wanted to go back. We went there tonight (10/22) but when she ordered the #3, which has chicken, we were told they ran out of chicken. We asked if they could do the #3, but with beef. We were told, "We don't do substitutions." I understand that for normal situations, but not when you screw up and run out of chicken. The other tacos have things my wife doesn't care for, so we had to leave. Very disappointed. That on top of terrible parking we likely won't be back.
Not a bad taco place. The tater tot taco was pretty good, but the poblano taco had a really odd flavor... my friend and I couldn't stomach it. I'm a big fan of poblano peppers but this wasn't the vibe. The guac and queso were average. Only gave it 4 stars because their tortillas were delicious.
My first time and I loved the food, service, and the overall atmosphere of Redheaded Stranger (AND also the catchy name).
I loved the friendly, fun atmosphere: the lighting, the stuffed giraffe on the air vents (or whatever it's called). Everyone smiled, checked in to make sure we had what we needed.
Next up food! LOVED IT! I had the #1 which had potato, egg, cheese, and bacon (hopefully I didn't miss an ingredient) on a soft tortilla. We also ordered tator tots to share and they were also very good.
Lastly, the bathroom was very clean!!! 🙌🏾
I was only in Nashvegas (i.e. Nashville) for the day, but I will definitely visit Redheaded Stranger again! Highly recommend!!!
Cool spot with a great vibe and a creative menu. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Grab food here and head to Wilburn Street Tavern for a drink after. Parking is a little thin so make sure you know where to find a space.
Delicious! The line is always out the door, but totally worth it. The staff is super nice too. Best brunch place for tacos and margs and bloody marys
Love the tacos, drinks and atmosphere. I especially love the cheese and tortillas.
I love this place with the passion of a thousand suns. Possibly the best tacos in Nashville.
This isn't Taqueria Azteca/Charlotte Ave. authentic street-style tacos but a Southern-Mexican fusion and it's damn delicious, especially for the price. I normally go whole hog and order 4-5 different tacos on the menu.
Be sure to not miss out on the goat cheese and portobello. It's easy to miss amidst the amazing meat and breakfast options, but it's possibly the finest thing on the menu if you like a spicy-sweet combo. I'm also partial to the brisket. I hail from Memphis, and that's the closest thing you'll get to amazing BBQ in Nashville. There's plenty of good sauce on the tables -- load it up with the Dr. Pepper flavor.
Their burgers and burritos can't be missed either. It's fun to get a taco or two plus a green chili burger to spice things up.
These are the tacos you've been dreaming of. Don't expect street-style tacos, they're certainly more involved than that, but truly so delicious (and equally scrumptious vegetarian options if that's your preference!).
I can't speak to the quality of any other menu items because the tacos have captured my heart and I can't move on, but maybe someday I'll give that burger a go (I've heard it's one of the best in the city these days).
Life hack: buy an extra side of tortillas to snack on when you're sad because you finished your food.
The line is worth it. The hype is real. We had 2 crunchwraps (Christmas and green chili pork) plus a side of guac. No chips but the tortillas were great.
Oh my goodness this place is incredible. If you haven't had a crunch wrap from this place you haven't even lived yet. Absolute MUST TRY in Nashville. I've eaten here the past 3 days in a row, haha.
The Totchos were pretty good and the various individual tacos were decent. Considering the quality/quantity of what you get, seems rather overrated and overpriced.
Really nice place, food was delicious! Parking can be a challenge but it's Nashville.
Best brisket tacos I've ever had! Drinks were great, friendly staff and interesting decor, a must go!
No chips. They’re anti chip. It’s weird but whatever everyone has gotta be different. You get tortillas with queso if you order it so tbh I would skip the queso because it just doesn’t make sense to eat queso with cheese as an appetizer. The tortillas are made there and they are obviously incredible.
The tacos are SO good. The #4 is just a bean and cheese taco but for some reason it’s like one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Idk what it is, maybe the Dr Pepper sauce it’s just so dank. Everyone who works there is really hip and also quite nice. Cool vibes for sure.
Some of the best tacos in Nashville alongside velvet taco. Will definitely go again.
I adore the design here. It reminds me of travelling to the Southwest and eating TexMex at places in El Paso, Las Cruces, and across Arizona. They definitely are unique in their decor and I love them for it.
Dishes are quite good. Mostly SW centric takes on standard eats. It's nice to have a place here locally that samples SW cuisine b/c it's lost to most other areas of the country. This reminds me a ton of being in Denver and having all the great SW green chile options. Super cute interior as well!!!
Decent food but it's overpriced with a limited menu and I don't know how you can sell queso but not offer anything to dip it in other than a tortilla. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense and it's a shame since the queso is good but they are wasting an opportunity.
I have traveled far and wide and enjoyed many burgers across the world, and the green chile cheeseburger was one of the best if not the best burgers I have ever had. It has been one the greatest privileges of my life to enjoy this delicious disk of meat, and I would go as far as to say that this was a religious experience for me. After consuming this scrumptious meal I felt compelled to purchase a t shirt, as you should as well if you have the opportunity to visit this magnificent establishment. Don't ever change RHS.
The tortillas here are amazing! I’m a big fan of breakfast tacos, but the tortillas here make these some of my favorite. They also have a dog friendly patio which is another plus.
Fresh hot flavorful good
Oh mercy, I could have eaten one of everything. Hot sauce was awesome
Amazing location with incredible food and a great staff. Definitely recommend.
First time here from Chicago. This place was Soo good Tex Mex in Tennessee like really. Food was awesome! Those sweet potato desert thing was amazing!!! The bacon, egg and cheese burrito was beyond good! Can't wait to go back when there's no snow there! Definitely a recommendation!!!
Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. Great service also!
A taco place with a great burger and hot sauces! Get the burger and a strawberry marg. You'll thank yourself! The patio is nice but has a ton of flies. Idk if there's anything anyone can do about that, though. During peak hours there can be a line down the block, so plan your arrival and plan B accordingly.
The food was so tasty the drinks were amazing and had a kick, but we had just this when we first got here and got food poisoning and were puking for hours
Everything about this place is fantastic. Straightforward menu with tasty options at a great value. Usually nice taco places bring two of three attributes to the table: $3 tacos, great ingredients/selection, and a solid portion. Tacos are $4 a pop here but knock the other two qualities out of the park. Add in their 3 boutique sauces (no extra charge) and you're set. I pair a taco with either the RHS burrito or the green chile cheeseburger. Throw a tall boy beer in with that and you have an elite meal for under $20 with tip. Home run spot for a neighborhood taco joint.
I mean... just go here. It's so dang good. Their sauces are bomb. Best brisket I've had outside of Texas. Drinks are delicious. The crunchwrap?! So many tasty treats. Parking is on the street, as with most things in east nashville. But, yes. Do yourself a favor and put these tacos in your face.
This was a new place in East Nashville. Fantastic! The food was so so good. They serve tacos. But not just any tacos. Specialty tacos that are delicious. The place was clean and the people were nice. The tacos were the star. I wasn't sure about an egg on a taco but it was so good. I got the brisket one and another with barbacoa and black beans. You can choose sauces but mine was so tasty it needed none. This might have been the best food I've had in Nashville so far. Highly recommend.
First off the tortillas are delicious. The tacos are nothing spectacular but they are good, the reason for my 3 star review is the tacos are more tortilla than filling, which is not the norm for Tex Mex tacos. The burrito is the same, more tortilla than actual filling. So if you like eating mostly tortilla tacos and burritos this is the place for you.
I also had the burger, which was actually well made and tasted good, although a little on the small side and barely had any hatch green chili.
Tacos were great. Would come back.
Unique atmosphere. Tacos are really good along with their green Chilli burger. Nice outdoor patio and a retro diner style indoor area. Great local spot. Will return.
Excellent, nuf said expect a wait but worth every morsel. Relaxed atmosphere with great service.
Everything about this place was amazing: food quality, prices, staff, environment. Highly recommend!
Cheeseburger and tacos (poblano, brisket, poblano, pulled pork) all exceeded expectations. They make their own flour tortillas in house, and you can taste the difference.
Great place! Will definitely come back through when I'm in town
Redheaded Stranger is always delicious! Sure, the line can get long at prime meal time, but the wait is always worth it. Their veggie crunchwrap is something I crave regularly—and definitely don't miss out on their totchos when they're on special!
Handmade tortillas a plus, really liked the tacos and sauces they had. Burrito was a little sloppy, didn't enjoy it as much as the breakfast tacos. Kid friendly. Nice patio for drinks. Good amount of street parking.
Get some now, simple as that. Get some. Had burgers, couple of tacos , cheese dip and guac. Would eat everything again. Cheeseburger is the bomb. (Except for the amount of pink in the meat). Super tasty.
I've been wanting to visit Redheaded Stranger since I first learned about it last summer. I was so thankful to finally have the chance to visit and it lived up to all my expectations. As I live in Austin, I know a good breakfast taco. So it was funny to come all the way to Nashville and get tacos, but totally worth it. These tacos are absolutely amazing. I'm gluten free and the GT tortillas are DELICIOUS. My husband had the house made flour tortillas and loved them. He said they were the fluffiest tortillas he'd ever had.
If you are looking for a great place for breakfast, coffee, or lunch, check them out!
I feel SO lucky that this is my neighborhood spot! The food is always amazing and creative, with new menu items added often. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. They also have a good variety of alcoholic beverages too, with lots of fun tequila based stuff.
Love love LOVE this place and its staff
Fantastic! #7 was my favorite (#5 a close second) and the fresh made tortillas and queso are my new standard that all others will be compared to! Can’t wait to try the burger that my buddy wouldn’t stop raving about.
This place is amazing. Definitely recommend the crunch wrap taco, it’s SO GOOD. I was drooling with every bite. It’s the kind of food that makes you wanna slap ya mama! Will definitely be going back.
Little bit of a wait to get in and seated but worth it .. Strong but god drinks and the tacos are delicious.. I tried the pulled pork tacos..very good
Hands down best tacos in Nashville. The tortillas are amazing and the crunch wraps are delicious. We’ve been multiple times and the quality is always spot on.
I enjoyed Red Headed Stranger. Their tacos seemed to be mainly breakfast themed (arrived at lunch), but I happened to be in the mood for that at the time. Had the Chorizo and Brisket tacos, both were tasty. I also enjoyed the spiced tater tots. I would have preferred a corn tortilla for my tacos, but their gluten free flour tortillas were home made and good. For a more Tex Mex option, this place is worth trying. They still aren't my favorite taco place in town, and they are right on the edge of being overpriced in comparison to what I can get elsewhere. I would still come back however.
Hands down one of the best spots in Nashville. The food is amazing, everything is made from scratch rig down to the hot sauce, and nothing compares to a fresh, hand made tortilla! The drinks are also delicious and the staff is so professional and friendly. They are on Ubereats too- so order delivery even if you can't get by the shop!
My favorite vegetarian tacos in town!
However, second time I came taco no.4 was wayyy too spicy so it burned my tongue and then I couldn’t enjoy the other ones I got, but besides that - super!
Best taco I’ve ever had, end of statement. Seriously I was upset with myself going 29 years without ever consuming a real taco. The four star rating is for the inexcusable wait. All the meats are precooked and the flour dough for the tacos shells are sitting in batches ready to be grilled. A 45 minute wait at 3pm on a Saturday cannot be explained away by food prep time alone, regardless of customer demand.
Green chili cheeseburger, RHS burrito, and queso are my top three. Fun drink specials. Love this spot!
Absolutely amazing! The homemade tortillas are out of this world. We ordered half of the menu and not one single thing disappointed us!! Check out the patio and have a margarita!
Can’t get enough of this place. Chill vibe, amazing food (the brisket tacos with dr pepper bbq sauce are chef kiss) and probably some of the best tortillas I’ve ever had. The service is always amazing. Can’t recommend enough.
Great tacos, tortillas are made fresh in house. You can watch them make the tortillas! They have a preset menu, but hot sauce can be taken off as needed. I wish I would have known you could order at the bar and not just the cash register for food/drinks. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. They have 4 types of hot sauce by their water setup. I love the Dr. Pepper hot sauce.
I got the 2,6,7. Chorizo/egg, hatch chili/tater tot, brisket. I also got a coffee all for about ~$16. I think 3 tacos was the perfect amount for me. I didn’t have any dry or consistency issues I’ve seen in other reviews.
The tacos remind me of the Torchy’s back in Austin! One of the better tacos I’ve had in Nashville. A much needed breakfast taco option!!
Fun lively atmosphere. Fresh hot food. Worth a stop if you’re in the area or passing through
Great tacos! Ordered the brisket w Dr. Pepper hot sauce and poblanos pepper tacos. Great atmosphere as well.
The brisket taco, poblano and whipped feta taco, spiced tots, and the Chile cheese burger were FIRE!! The Bloody Mary was good, pretty spicy. Def going back!
I highly enjoyed the experience and the pork green Chile crunchwrap. And queso cheese dip with warm tortillas; not chips. What?! I was shocked and also, couldn't stop eating them. Will return for more!
Fresh tortillas paired with both classic and adventurous fillings makes this one of my favorite places to get breakfast tacos in Nashville. They have a bar and serve coffee for whatever you are in the mood for. The have an array of fairly hot hot sauces to pair with your tacos. I do wish their home made Hot sauces were more salsa like. I will definitely be coming back.
One of my all time favorite places to eat! I crave it on the daily. I’ve tried every taco on the menu, you can’t go wrong they’re all good. Like no other TexMex, there is no comparison. Always delicious, I also take friends and family here when they come into town.
No complaints about the food itself - everything was very good. But we left hungry 🤷 The queso comes with two tortillas. Hardly enough to make a dent in the amount of queso you receive. Delicious tacos, though. The atmosphere and staff were great. …
This a legit Tex-Mex place owned by a former Texan. I was born in Texas and have fam there so I know this is the real deal. The heck with Taco Hell!
Go here for a chill hangout with friends and/or older kids (like middle school and up, just the vibe I'm picking up). They have indoor and outdoor seating and in a growing neighborhood that's quite. Wear mask before entry. Oh, the drinks don't play games, so make sure you tip the bartender well ;).
Known only to locals this is a wonderful spot to get tex-mex for breakfast without fighting through tourists. Their homemade flour tortillas are worth the trip alone! Make sure to grab extra Dr. Pepper hot sauce and their seasonal frozen cocktail.
Amazing, quality food. Will definitely be back!
Love the Texan concept. Good tacos, but the burger here is what really shines. Great tender patty with a good amount of kick with the chili. Recommended lunch would be 1 taco, 1 burger and a Topo Chico. Keep it up.
Absolutely DELICIOUS. Best crunch wrap I've ever had. Shout-out to an employee at Harding House Brewery for the recommendation. I would 10/10 recommend.
Highly recommended spot in East Nashville for great tacos. Ranch water to cool things off
Best breakfast tacos I've found outside of Texas. Great atmosphere. Carefully designed decor. Stay Golden Coffee was delicious. Great service. Rumor has it the hours possibly expanding soon. I would also like to thank the guy that submitted the low review due to the hours, because it inspired me to leave a 5 star review, which I don't do enough and to clarify that they are ramping up to more extended hours. And the rumored eta is Sept 2019.
Got a crunch wrap and a strawberry marg. The crunch wrap was delicious and lived up to it's crunchy name. The marg was good, and not overly sweet (a win in my book). The service was great and the vibes were immaculate.
Some of the best tacos in Nashville. The tortillas are out of this world, the house hot sauces are so creative and delicious, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant is great. This is a staple in my family for sure. Please go check them out!
This place was so good, I was tempted to buy the house for sale across the street. This place was so good, I don’t want to tell anyone I’m visiting Nashville with about it. This place was so good, I’m tempted to come back for every meal. Don’t go - I don’t want to wait in a long line when I come back!
I dined here two days in a row. Need I say more? Okay, I will. As a native Texan I was excited about RHS, and they delivered. I know the burger is all the rage, but I recommend sticking with their tacos because their tortillas are pretty close to perfect. And if you’re feeling wild, dive into an order of Frito Pie for an extra treat.
Super tasty tacos, delicious sauces, friendly service and a super cool atmosphere
Wallet friendly delish food that will leave you craving for more!
The tortillas are hand made in house and set the small but well chosen menu on to the upper echelon of 🌮 shops.
You must use the two home-made sauces to add in flavor and spice if you want your tacos 🌶
This place is delicious. I come here a few times a week as part of my orthodox taco religion.
But damn are they slow. Unimaginably slow. How long does it take to put some brisket and barbacoa into a taco and serve? It shouldn’t take 40 minutes to get tacos.
This place has the best tacos in the city.
Always amazing and the margaritas are amazing.
So.e of the best tacos 🌮 I've ever experienced. Probably has to be the homemade tortilla's. You actually get to watch them make them by hand right on the premises! …
Funky take on a cowboy diner. We split the chorizo/egg, barbacoa, and brisket tacos. All amazing in their own way. Tortillas are made In house and you can tell, they’re chewy and fresh. I loved the curry habanero hot sauce so much I bought a bottle of it. Devon was super helpful with recommendations.
Spectacular! Amazing! Delicious! Highly recommended .
Can a breakfast burrito be extraordinary you ask? YES! in 8 ways at the Red Headed Stranger! Other just say yes moments: latte, queso w tortillas, and Jalapeño Crema. And try the Cheeseburger -- shhh, just what is needed if the night before had Too Much! ; )
Great little hole in the wall. Food was fantastic.
Very good tacos with a simple dining experience. If you want authentic Tex Mex tacos in a place that would do well in Austin, give it a try.
Best food we've had in Nashville so far! We split four tacos and a totchos and it was just enough for two. Also had the Stranger margs. We sipped on our margs while taking in the decor and people watched for a bit. Our food was out not too much longer and worth the 30 minute or so wait.
The burger was really excellent (green chilli). Friendly and eclectic. Good value.
Awesome out the way place to get some breakfast on a Sunday morning. Quick and tasty.
I will start off by saying the flavorsof the tacos are very good and the sauces on the table where excellent. But there were shortcomings. The tacos were small. Scrambled eggs had a strange skin on them. And I would suggest that you have salt and pepper on the table. And chips and salsa. Because eating queso and guacamole with flour tortillas just doesn't really make it. Especially if you're trying to be Texas. I would pay for chips and hot sauce if you had it. Also, not having ice in the water was weird. I don't really like drinking warm water with my meal.
I wanted to like this place more, the atmosphere was fun and casual, the service was quick, and the food was inexpensive. However, the tacos were just ok and the cheeseburger didn’t come with anything as a side item, it was just a sad, lonely cheeseburger. I might try it again and get something different. But right now I would much rather go to BarTaco or Mas Tacos Por Favor. On a side note, the tortillas themselves were KILLER delicious, if only the inside had more flavor and food.
As a native Texan I'm always excited to try any new so called "tex-Mex" place in Nashville. I had high hopes for this place considering its from the guys at Butcher & Bee which is one of my favorite places. So the tortillas were great. But the tacos & the queso were quite disappointing. Like every other hipster taco place in Nashville (save Mas Tacos), the tacos here are small & overpriced. I got the brisket taco that had hardly any meat in it. The other taco was a poblano pepper taco that was mediocre at best. My friend & I got a cup of queso which was tiny & had a grainy taste to it. True Texas yellow queso is pretty basic....velveta, Rotel tomatoes & maybe some milk. Chuy's does it just like that. Also we only received 2 tortillas with our queso & had to pay $3.25 to get 2 more! Major rip off.
My friend got a barbacoa taco that was actually decently filled. So for over $35 (including tip), between 2 people we got 3 tacos, a small cup of queso (had to pay $1.50 for pico!), a coke & a TopoChico & both walked away still hungry.
I hear the burger is good AND maybe the weekly specials. But for tacos & queso, this place doesn't cut it. Sorry guys! I wanted to love it, especially since I'm a "red headed stranger" but I was sorely disappointed.
While the soft tacos were made to order and tasty they are small and the menu choices were few. There were no chips and salsa to complement the tacos which was a disappointment.
Been going since it opened. Always delicious tacos with fresh ingredients. Staff is friendly and the space is warm and cheery. Come for dinner (Friday/Saturday) as the dinner tacos are even better!
Chef @bryanleeweaver won my heart again!
I’ve been a fan of butcher and bee for years now, so I knew Bryan’s new shop would be great, but he exceeded my expectations.
GREAT tacos... both breakfast and normal sauce ...(gluten free tortillas available and delicious)
GREAT queso.
GREAT coffee.
GREAT margaritas.
Love the staff.
And once you get through all the taco offerings there’s specials everyday (like Frito Pie). My Lord my little TX heart is happy.
Stop what you’re doing and Go Here.
Food is really good, but portions on the small side. They number the tacos so when they bring them out we needed to look up the menu again to remember what we ordered. Typical hipster service. Flys on the patio are terrible.
Fresh homemade tortillas are a huge plus. Fun and original tacos. Queso is really good. Poblano taco tasted bitter(wouldnt order again) but barbacoa taco was amazing. Definitely recommend trying it out. Decor is super cute.
PROS: Food was good. Drinks were great.
CONS: Service was pretty slow. Parking was extremely scarce and difficult.
Such a gem!! Their tacos and burger are amazing. I recently moved here and have gone about 4 times in the past week. Staff is super cool as well.
Soooo delicious. One of my favorite spots in Nash. Their bacon breakfast taco is unreal. Highly recommend!
Freaking delicious. Seriously. Knowledgeable staff, interestingly cool decor. 5 out of 5, honestly.
SO DELICIOUS!! Their curbside team is awesome and the tacos are simply the best w veggie options. If you haven't eaten here this place is seriously a must in Nashville.
This place is amazing! The food is phenomenal and they have vegetarian options. The staff have been awesome every time we’ve visited. Definitely add to your list of restaurants to try out!
Pretty dang good tacos. Most at our table had the tater tot one and it was a favorite. I had the bean, cheese and sunny egg taco which despite reservations was incredible. Minor gripe: the queso comes with 2 tortillas(no chips) which is not enough to eat the queso. I asked for more tortillas and was told I'd need to wait in the long line again and order extra tortillas🙄. I'm from Texas, where Willie Nelson lives(see restaurant name) and they don't nickle and dime you for extra tortillas 😠. The Margarita was great though. 🤠 #lunchspot #tacotuesday #foodie
Tacos were great, but it seems that this is another of the line-out-the-door-but-overpriced restaurants in the area. Not sure how I feel about spending $6 for a bowl of queso and 2... Literally 2 tortillas. I'd eat that brisket taco again in a heartbeat, but I'll give my taco money to places that don't cost $20 to get full.
Also, small note, but please don't default your checkout register to a 16% tip. Workers are not doing table service, no reason to tip that much. If they're working for tips, then something is wrong. I'll leave a few bucks but this comes across way too pushy, especially as a first impression.
Crunchy jean jacket with enamel pins and beanie hipster taco place done right. If I was the foodie that I imagine myself to be, I would stop here every Sunday at 11:27 am to fill up before a long nap. This is the kinda meal you need to contemplate after finishing. My wife and I fantasized about taking a bath in the queso. I plan on making this stranger a best friend
Every aspect of our experience was swoon worthy. Awesome, friendly staff and tortillas and tacos were amazing. So delicious!
This place is fantastic. Creative Tex Mex. I loved the Crunchwrap and margarita I had. I would go there all of the time if not for their extreme popularity / line.
I'm from Tucson, AZ - we have the best 35 miles stretch Mexican food there - this place can certainly compete! Delicious! Highly recommend!
I moved to Nashville from Austin 3 weeks. Lack of tacos was my biggest concern moving back to Nashville.
Redheaded Stranger made me feel like I never left Texas!!! The hand-made tortillas, queso and tacos are just as good as the very best Tacos in Austin. I'm a huge fan and will frequent weekly! 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
Awesome food, great atmosphere! Got the RHS burrito with a side of tots and was stuffed! Bae tried the fried green tomato taco and let's just say it should be a permanent menu item, bc it was bomb.
Best crunch wrap i have ever had
Tortillas are very well made. Everything in my #3 was good EXCEPT for the “shredded” chicken. They should name it chunky chicken SMH
Perfect breakfast tacos and nice combinations for the filling. Definitely worth a visit!
Cons.:
- difficult parking situation
- possibly long queuing
The tacos are amazing (we had #2, 3, and 7)! We also had the burrito....delicious. Love the atmosphere! One of our new favorite spots now!
Amazing tacos! The flour tortillas are made in house. My go to tacos are the beef brisket and the feta cheese.
Great burrito, lots of yummy taco options, the guacamole salad is a tad strange. Bright airy dining room with outside seating. Go earlier to avoid the line!
Two strangers in Nashville entered one crisp Saturday morning, and their lives were changed forever. Upon ordering, you proceed to ingest this finery in the vain hope that your obviously overmatched taste buds can somehow grasp the delectable intricacies it is suddenly faced with.
Love this spot. Very chill. Reasonably priced, great quality ingredients and the best house made tortillas. Full bar and coffee too. Perfect for breakfast and lunch. Good vegetarian options as well.
Homemade tortillas, a variety of taco options, amazing queso, and bomb margaritas, what more could you want?? So worth the wait on weekends!
KILLER, that's it KILLER! Simple menu, great ingredients, awesome cocktails! Eat here two nights while we were in town.
Quick place to grab some great well thought-out well prepared tacos burrito and burger. The staff is great
don't get lost in the tacos. they have the best burger per dollar. also, tacos are rad. really can't go wrong.
What a crew of talented, friendly folk! The decor is on point the menu is tasty, tasty while showing cult classics on the tele above the bar is a v nice touch. Glad your doors opened and I hope they stay that way too.
House made tortillas, house made sauces, house made everything! You'll love everything on the menu. Friendly atmosphere with good food & drinks!
Large variety of tasty taco options. Bearded Iris cans and cocktails also available. Enjoy the umbrella covered patio tables or limited indoor seating.
Bacon taco and brisket taco (not to mention the tortillas theyselves) are perfect, and although it’s not quite what you’d find on I-25, that $6 green chile burger may be the best $6 you’ll spend on non-booze related items in Nashville.
Get the Crunchwrap best thing on the menu by far
Tacos are fantastic
Margs are solid. Not my favorite but definitely tasty
Adorable interior and amazing food. Love this spot! Theme is very New Mexico/Airzona and the food is definitely different from the mexican food i'm used to, definite SW flair to it, but every bit as amazing. Highly recommed you get food from here! 5*
Fun place to eat I was only there for lunch during the week but the food was super good! They are social distancing very well. They have a little outside seating area so seating is limited! Definitely going to go again.
Love the breakfast taco (with bacon). Hooked on them and haven’t tried anything else yet. Staff is always friendly and courteous.
Its more like a BBQ/Burger place that also has salsa and tortillas. Definitely good, but its odd. The green chili is pretty much just diced chili. Its not like colorado/new Mexico green chili
awesome spot. amazing tacos and reasonable prices. Wish they were open for dinner more days of the week but otherwise 5 stars! one of my favorite Sunday morning spots.
Fantastic food! A little hipster-y, but stupid good tacos. When I’m back in Nashville, definitely coming back.
Cool vibes and great food! The #7 taco is to die for and the frozen marg was amazing. Outdoor seating was really nice too.
Fire flame
Crunchwraps could be crunchier tho in all honesty
The pulled pork sandwich with slaw and house-made pickles is the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Likewise with the crispy rice avocado salad. And of course every other thing on the menu as well
Finally made I over to this gem! The only inconveniences are parking and their current hours. Otherwise, this Willie Nelson/Texas themed taqueria/tex-mex restaurant delivers on all accounts. Grab a topo chico or a Shiner like you would in Texas. Have a slightly non-traditional taco on one of their hand made tortillas. If you have room in that belly, the burger is also heavenly. I will have to start making more frequent trips to the east side!
Excellent food and drinks, good outdoor dining space.
Yum! Lived in Texas for 35 years and appreciate the tortillas hand made in front of you, genuine TexMex flavors but super original take. The #8 poblano, whipped feta and crispy rice with dreamcatcher sauce was a United Nations of tastes. Also had #3,5 & 6, all delish. Oh, and the totally inauthentic banana pudding milkshake with bourbon was scrumptious😝
Cute place. Great flour tortillas. Love the outdoor area. House margaritas are easy to drink.
Dreaming about coming back here the next time we are in Nashville :’)
Good food at the right price. FYI no chips and salsa.
5 stars cuz they're creative and try new things all the time. They make unique drinks like mezcal Margs and in the summerz spiked slushy drinks. They smoke the meats out back and the patio is pretty dope.
Amazing! #2 was the best taco I've ever had! The staff was super friendly and laid back. Just an overall super enjoyable experience.
The homemade tortillas are delicious. Don't sleep on the burger, the hatch green chillies are awesome, one of my favorite burgers in town.
Over priced. Food ok. Very limited choices.
Great food but know it's way more Tex than Mex. Awesome service. Cool atmosphere. Neat neighborhood.
Best tacos in Nashville (hot take, I know) but I would never lead y’all astray. This is the spot to be
Food was delicious and staff was super friendly! A must in Nash
What to say other than some of the best flour tacos I've ever had. And the burger. Hands down so amazing. Thank you RHS and Chef Bryan for another amazing meal
We love Redheaded Stranger. The food is great, especially the tachos and whipped feta with poblano taco. Their burger is also incredible.
Good food and really nice and friendly employees
The best tacos, hamburgers, and crunch wraps. Their cocktails are solid.
It's quite possible that the roasted poblano pepper taco is one of the best things I've ever eaten.
The best breakfast tacos in Nashville, hands down. Love the vibe, drinks and people. They make the tortillas fresh, go see for yourself.
This place was fantastic!
The food is top notch, seriously get the queso and dip that taco 🌮. Highly recommend the chorizo breakfast taco!
The food and staff were excellent. Everything was fresh and the staff knew their stuff. It is fun to watch them make the flour tortillas
The breakfast tacos here are fantastic, I highly reccomend the chorizo. The food is all very fresh and the Dr. Pepper hot sauce is a nice addition to all of the food.
My new favorite tex-mex spot!
Amazing tacos. Got to brunch here last weekend and fell in love. Margaritas were nice and potent.
Foods absolutely amazing.... The lady making the tortillas defiantly hates tourists or hates rolling tortillas.
Favorite tacos in Nashville. The flour tortillas are incredible.
Nice menu and the food was delicious. First time here and I highly recommend this place. It's not a fancy place but the street tacos are great.
I went here like four times in a week and their burrito and margarita special were both so good plus the sauces and the vibes no wonder their lines are nuts on weekends
Food was good but we waited over an hour to get our food.
I live three blocks away and stop in about once a month for food and once a week for a frozen togo margarita (strawberry flavor is 👌🏼). Lots of vegetarian options and the staff I friendly. …
Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly!
Tortillas are delicious but fillings are lacking in quantity. Definitely more tortilla than anything else. Tacos are okay but nothing spectacular.
Great little place with homemade flour tortillas filled with very flavourful things
Excellent food!!! Super friendly staff. No chips...no problem who needs them??? A must try!
Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had.
Absolutely 🔥🔥🔥 soo good glade I stop in for a bite …
Great tortillas and various tacos. The food comes out quick and is very tasty.
Really good frozen margaritas. Good tacos. Wish there were some more fish options but awesome selections overall
The food was absolutely delicious!
Obsessed with their bean tacos. Also enjoy their burgers and crunchwraps. Beer selection is pretty good and the place is super cute!
Amazing food!!! And great atmosphere!
Grabbed lunch here. Great atmosphere and good tacos.
Some of the best tacos I've ever had. True fusion food and fresh handmade tortillas in an open space.
That margarita tho! Oh... The food was delicious, too. The Green Chile Cheeseburger is one of the best burgers in Nashville.
Amazing food and friendly service.
The Dr. Pepper hot sauce is killer. Getting a seat can be tough but totally worth it.
Neat place. Tacos are very favorable. Plabono and chorizo were excellent
This place is great. The chili cheese burger is so full of flavor. Service was friendly.
Best, affordable burger. Like the #1 bfest taco, get it every time. Love that you could get a good latte or margarita.
The brisket taco was one of the best things I have ever eaten! Great spot for lunch!
The tacos were not impressive... the burger is better. It has more hype than it should.
Best Tex-Mex in all of Nashville! Everything is delicious!

Maintains our “go to” place week after week
The place never fails. Been back many times, friendly staff, amazing fresh food and cheap prices. This place can’t be beat.
Great atmosphere. Great tacos and even Gluten Free options!
A wide range of taste buds at this place and couldn't be more happier, atmosphere and staff just added vibes, if you're looking for a tasty hip spot this is it!
It was great! You order at the register and then get your number and pick your table. Options for vegetarians and gluten free people!
This places has the best tots in town. They are so good that they helped me win my girlfriend back after I was a dummy.
Best tacos in Nashville!!!
Breakfast tacos just the way the goddess intended, every ingredient perfection. Full coffee service and adult beverages too!
Food was good, we tried several different tacos and all were good
The best cheeseburger in town hands down
I'm from New Mexico and their tacos taste like home. Been a long time. Highly recommend.
The smell of fresh tortillas fills the air when you walk in & the tacos are fire. Give this place a try!
Green chili burger is one of my favorite cheese burgers in Nashville. For the price, get 2-3 of them.
Best flour tortilla I’ve ever had. Get the breakfast burrito and don’t look back.
Food was out of this world and staff was so friendly! Absolutely love and will come back!
This is my new favorite taco place. Everything is amazing here! Can't recommend it enough
Neat little hipster joint. Wouldn't say the food is to die for but it's cheap enough and it's fun to see the restaurant at least once.
Great service, yummy tacos and reasonable prices. Very clean and comfortable seating with a nice outdoor seating area.
Fun. Simple. Is it a bar? A diner? I'm not sure. Bob Ross TV was a blast, I guess.
Yeah, I said 'Bob Ross TV'. Who knew?
Food was pretty good but you definitely do NOT get enough for the price you pay!
- casual
- great margarita
- very popular
- quick service
- banana pudding milkshake
- Frito pie
- not too crazy
- we loved it
Good food. Relaxed atmosphere. Little tough for parking. Residential permit parking signs errywheres
My sister showed me this place. Breakfast tacos and burritos all day. Can't go wrong
Excellent service, great food and a killer cocktail. Top it off with an adorable interior and 10/10 I will go again.
Cute place!! Get the totchos they are fire. Don’t let the location deter you. Great neighborhood and very friendly staff.
Absolutely loved the tacos and the flavors were amazing but thought it was a little pricey for what it was.
Quick and delicious food, nice clean patio for furry friends.
It's a nice place with $6 hamburgers, my sister lives across the street from it. It's always busy with mostly young people. Very clean place.
Great food but always a decent wait/line.
Fun tacos and great burgers here in East Nashville.
why the heck is a taco place open 8am-3pm monday to friday? especially with an emphasis on breakfast tacos- you’re really not gonna open on the weekends? why? what?
Pretty good food, fresh flour tortillas made to order.
This is my must go every time I’m in Nashville. Don’t sleep on the #8, with the whipped feta, poblano, and crispy rice
Amazing tacos and drinks and queso! Favorite new spot in East Nashville! Thanks for bringing this gem to the neighborhood!
These tacos where delicious. A must have if you're in the area!
Flavorful tacos and burritos with plenty of tasty vegetarian options. Great outdoor space too!
The burritos were so good. The sauces are so unique & yummy
Some of the best tacos in Nashville. Great vibes as well.
Love this place! Burgers and tacos always hit!
Badass burritos and Tacos. Tortillas are made fresh in house definitely try the Dreamweaver sauce!
Awesome vibe and delicious tacos galore. Love that Dr. Pepper sauce!
Delicious food and unique sauces. Open tortilla prep is cool to watch.
Great bfast tacos. Even better music. Bring extra cash if you want Bloody Mary's.
I'm sorry but my experience here was not good because I received the brisket taco and 70% of it was fat I do apologize cuz I love to eat but my day I went there it was bad experience
Real tacos, actualy, big ones, Mexican taste, the been yummy, the wacamole yummy.
Delicious handmade tacos... Combinations I didn't know I wanted! Highly recommend
Food was passable. Fairly authentic Tex-Mex. You may not rave, but you won't be disappointed.
Awesome tacos and the best queso I’ve ever had!
Always quick. Always delicious. Pork green chili crunchwrap is life.
Good food, good coffee, good music, cool atmosphere, friendly staff. What’s not to love?
Just drinks. Little pricey
Nice atmosphere..Food was really good..different variety of tacos
Get the breakfast taco!!! And the tots with chili!!
These breakfast tacos were insane my advice is bring someone who is down to order the entire menu with you
Loved the place , great food and great service. Wish they would open one up in Memphis.
