Soul food here was great! What you would expect from the south here is true. Fried chicken, Salisbury steak and dozens more are available and menu rotates every day so you get some specials every day!

I'm from Jackson, MS and was visiting Nashville. My best friend suggested this restaurant for Sunday dinner. The food was EXCELLENT !!!! Fried chicken was tender and it was not greasy. The greens, string beans, and squash were seasoned to perfection. The cornbread was so good, I even ate the crumbs. 😁 The Mac and cheese was wonderful. I definitely will be back when I travel back to Nashville. Keep up the good cooking. There was a line but the wait was worth it. Maybe they could add a third person on the line to help prepare plates so the line could move faster. Overall I enjoyed everything and I will be back and bring friends.

The meat loaf, sweet potatoes, fresh squash with green peppers and turnip greens were ALL seasoned to perfection. NOT SALTY. Food was okay. Baked chicken was bit dry, and hard. My husband did not enjoy his meal. We came two hours before closing, and there was no rice, or mashed potatoes. No high chair.

Now I'm really moving here lol. All I've done is eat since I got here on my vacation from Las Vegas and this by far is the best soul food I've EVER tasted hands down. Catfish, mac n cheese, cabbage, meatloaf, spaghetti, corn bread, and peach cobbler . The mac n cheese is better than any I have ever had. And the love and hospitality in here makes you feel like your at a family reunion. 10 stars from me. Thank you

Very good food. Always hot, fresh and seasoned perfectly. My reason for 4 star's. The line server needs to show a little more appreciation that I chose his establishment to support. He always makes me feel as if I'm a problem for stopping by. But overall I didn't come for him I came for the food. Great job! Very reasonable pricing. Clean place. Food always look very appetizing and pretty in the window. The dining area is very beautiful and well kept. Parking is easy.

It was good, but the presentation wasn’t good at all. Baked chicken was cooked too done and was dry. No real turnip greens, cabbage looked awful. Sweet potatoes didn’t look good. Food needs to look good to sell. It was okay.

great place food was very good there was a attitude problem with the men serving the meat that I truly didn't appreciate his service if my cousin still owned this restaurant that never would have happened we had 55 people and some reported he wouldn't serve them 2 meats even after I asked him to give the people what they wanted regardless of what it cost it will be paid for at the register because the lady look in every to go box with no gloves on 🤔😕

I've eaten here several time and I usually have fried chicken or meatloaf. Both of those entrees are VERY GOOD and deserve a 5 star rating. Yesterday I ordered catfish. It was horrible. It seemed warmed over. I will NEVER order the catfish again. Sticking to what I know is good, fried chicken and meatloaf. The sides are always good too.

I have been coming to Nashville since 2013 and so glad the other restaurant that was there went out of business and Kingdom cafe is just what was needed! The food was good, the customer service was excellent (even had a comedian grace us with his skills) and the environment was nice. We were also able to witness one of the supervisors allowing someone who needed a meal to get food without charge to them. That made my heart so happy. They didn't do it for show, they tried to be discreet, but I was being nosy and watched the whole thing. I love this place and will be returning next year when we return!!!

My husband and I ordered two plates, and they did not disappoint. I got greens beans, mashed potatoes, fried chicken with a piece of oven bread. My chicken was seasoned really well and crispy how I like it. My husband got mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, baked chicken with a piece of oven bread. He was pleased as well. The lady at the cash register was very nice. The restaurant was super clean as well as the food area, I'll definitely go again.

The food was delicious! The meatloaf was amazing! The mac & cheese reminded me of the mac & cheese that my aunt used to make when I was growing up. This was the real thing...homemade..not a box mix. The cooked sweet potatoes were fresh not canned. The corn bread was really good too. They serve good size portions. It is a great place to get home cooked comfort food. The staff was friendly. The food is served cafeteria style. While the atmosphere is not fancy and you have to pick your food up cafeteria style, don't let this stop you from trying the amazing food this place has to offer.

GrubHub/PostMates/Other delivery drivers, Beware. Unfortunately coming here as a delivery courier was a waste of time. I understand the establishment is Buffet Style but at least having the orders ready or close to done for pickup is the bare minimum. NOT waiting in an already long line and then being told it would be another 10 min wait for something that should've been taken care of the moment the employee pressed 'Confirmed' for the delivery order. You see an item that will take 10 min to fry? Get it started. What's the excuse for pickup orders when people call in? Unfortunately, I have to avoid this restaurant as I continue my deliveries

BE PREPARED TO WAIT. They lines are slow rolling and they don’t really care. I’m talking 15 minutes in line and it’s maybe 4 people in front of you. You’d think with this being cafeteria style they would know to be quicker but they just don’t care about a speedy service at all. Also when they run our of items they literally say “OH WELL what else you want”. Is it good sure but it’s their SLOW service that diminishes the food for me. Not worth standing in line so long for. DO BETTER PLEASE.

Only thing I can say is Ive been looking for y'all!! Lol That fried chicken OMG!! The mashed potatoes is a stand alone dish on it's on. The sweet potatoes off the chains. Someone said they tasted like they put pineapples in it. Perhaps they should check their taste buds. Tasted like classic sweet potatoes to me. The greens, the green beans 5 stars. My only gripe is the mac and cheese. My friend says it was different from what they use to serve BUT I wouldnt have known. The Mac and Cheese was pretty good to me. I went again today for a second time. Finally some Soul Food and no more home style cooking. 😆

Driving through Nashville, heading back to New Orleans after Ida, and were directed to check out Kingdom Cafe. Staff was wonderful and attentive, food was beautifully presented. I found the seasoning to be a little too salty (meatloaf and green beans). Some folks need that savory boost, but watching the sodium is important. The cherry cobler was slamming. The sweet potatoes were excellent. I really could have had the cornbread and a small blackeye peas. But the peas were also a little too seasoned. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Hey, I'll be back!! I think much of New Orleans cuisine is overseasoned too. 😯

The Manager was so hospitable and diligent in his service that he personally came to deliver my missing items. It's rare these days that a restaurant takes initiative like that and I am glad to have them a part of our foodie community. Definitely will stop by one of the Sunday night jazz evenings. We had just gotten out of a manger meeting just down the street at our home office for Shell Twice Daily's. So there was several of us. We saw that they have a extra room in the back. Homestyle diner feel, but cafeteria style. I was an invited guest of a small gathering, so it was an experience. I have no idea about price point or menu other than the menu options today, which were baked or fried chicken, smothered pork steak, meatloaf, or fried catfish (and another fish, but didnt hear what kind, but both cooked to order); cabbage, green beans, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn; and cornbread.
