Great Moms n Pop Burger joint that offers tasty fresh burgers and fries. Their service is excellent, the wait time is fairly quick and portion size for what you pay for is more than fair. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and want a good burger that is not greasy with a fresh bun that won't tear apart and is delicious. This place will be a good experience. FYI this place is only open till 8pm.

No, but they are super good, and their fries are awesome too. Order: Burger and fries About: $14 I had spent early part of the afternoon at coffee shop and knew I was headed to hike for a few hours so I wanted to get some good, and hopefully not super expensive, food that afternoon. I read a couple of reviews and saw a lot of really good things about Grillshack. I’m not normally big burger guy but something about the idea of a place that just does one burger and fries really well intrigued me so that’s where I landed. It is super low-key; it’s basically a small building with a to go window a few picnic tables outside under a covered awning and that’s it. They serve a few different items but really they basically have one thing. The grillshack burger and fries. It’s what every single person got while I was there and it’s what they recommend. So clearly that’s what I got. It’s an incredibly simple burger with toppings kind of on the side, lettuce tomato pickles, and their fries are home cut and absolutely delicious. There’s really not a ton to say about grillshack except I would absolutely come here anytime I wanted a burger. It’s almost like someone took the “fast food burger” and then made it delicious but still kept it at a somewhat reasonable price. I definitely recommend people go, and I could see myself going again when I’m back in Nashville.

Small unassuming shack in East Nashville on the corner of Rosebank and Riverside. Stopped in on a whim and boy was I surprised. The literal BEST burger and fries I have ever eaten. I have now come back almost 10 times in just two weeks. I am addicted!! I brought friends and family and everyone agrees that it’s THE BEST! They use fresh, delicious ingredients.

My son requested burger and fries but I did not want fast food. I found this place searching on the map and I am so happy that I did. The burgers were perfectly cooked and delicious. The added bacon was great, I got 2-3 crispy pieces. The plain wings were awesome as well as the side sauces. But the fries, those amazing delicious fries! I've never had any like those, they were a better version of steak fries with little crispy ends. Just as delicious cold at midnight! 10/10 if you want a great burger in Nashville

We were in town and wanted a burger, after reading reviews we picked this place. Great choice!!! Look at the burger and look at those fries!!! It was exactly what I wanted and the only thing I am mad about was that I couldn’t finish the fries. I had three left and it was sad to throw them away. If you have not tried this before then do so, if you have been before then you know it is amazing already!

In Tennessee for a couple days, just got our rental and decided to check this spot out for lunch. Really good cheeseburgers and the fries were friggin amazaballs. Really crispy but just a tad bit salty. Come check this spot out if your in the Nashville area.

No-frills spot for a great burger and heap of fries. Suggest adding the grilled onions and bacon which are both cooked perfectly. My only gripe is that they have chopped lettuce which is hard to enjoy on a burger. Haven't tried other menu items but definitely recommend the staple - Grillshack Burger & Fries.

Great unassuming burger joint a short bike ride from Shelby Park. Burgers were great, albeit a bit on the sampler side. Their french fries are far and away the best from any burger joint I've had here in Nashville. Huge steak cut fries with skin on that are crispy on the outside and soft inside. With their spicy ketchup... Yumm mmmmmm. Watched train roll by while waiting for my order and caught a few cars with graffiti on them. Enjoy!!

First impression was the smile from the gentleman taking our order. He answered our questions and was quick when my son changed his order. Great made to order local grass fed beef burgers. They also offer vegetarian options!! This grill-shack offers a simple menu! About 10$ per burger!! Outside dining option! No indoor option! If you don’t mind eating outside this burger was pretty darn good!!! Family enjoyed the food!!! As another reviewer mentioned, you blink you will miss it!!

It's just perfect. A find on Google for burgers in Nashville as I was driving through and Maps took me right to it. Outdoor seating at picnic tables. Soft drinks in glass bottles. Walk up window and easy ordering. The burger was absolutely perfect. Juicy, hot, great "chew" to the bun. Dress it how you will. Fries were hot and had delicious. I guarantee next time I am out that way I will.find a reason to stop here again. Absolutely recommend.

Been searching for the perfect burger in Nashville. Got told about this place. Not much they do wrong here. Toasted brioche bun, local beef. Tons of offerings for sauces including old Bay. Can't argue with anything. Down home burger done right. Not trying to be elevated which I like.

I've always heard good things from this spot, so decided to check it out. This may be the best experience you can have eating an A++ burger under a wooden shack on Earth. Pulled up around 1:00pm-1:15pm on a weekday. Couple people were outside eating. Grillshack burger is a must. Takes about 10 minutes for your order so you could hang out and walk around. Maybe look at sky, idk. They take cash or card. Staff was super friendly. No warm napkins, no bottle service, nobody giving you a massage before your meal. Just a damn good burger you can enjoy in a shack.

Really good quality beef it is locally sourced what I really like about it is that it is a hole in the wall you can meet different people while you're waiting for your food. Not too many people waiting either you can tell it is a local favorite because a lot of people do their orders in advance walk up to the Wonder grab the food and leave.

If you're looking for a burger and fries to take back home and watch some Netflix, then the Grillshack is your spot! Also, if it's a nice day out you can bring your own alcohol and drink on the porch - I think you can at least, I did it and no one yelled at me. Got an impossible burger today, it was really quite good!!

Good lunch spot on a nice day. There's only outside seating so you might not want to be here on a sweltering day. The tables are covered so you'll be dry and in the shade. No public restrooms. Got a cheeseburger with fries. Both were good but not great. Took them about 12 minutes to get our order out.

Outstanding burgers and fries. The burger was perfect. The spicy ketchup was just hot enough. The fries were hot and fresh and crispy. Bonus points for being dog friendly and having a parking lot that accompanied our large truck. We tried other dog friendly spots but there was no room for the vehicle!

By far the best French fries I’ve ever had. They were crunchy and soft, golden and crisp, not too greasy. Seasoning was not over powering. Burgers were good but the seasoning is a bit salty. The combination of the two made a burger and fry combo to remember!

This is our go to family burger place. The burgers are really tasty and not greasy at all. Huge plus. Love the great portion of fries and selections for kids. Tip for you ..order ahead and by the time you get there food will be ready. Usually about 15 mins before food is ready. Enjoy!!

Delicious burgers with large fries. Only Drawbacks are there’s lots of carpenter bees & wasps literally in your face as you order. Pesky but They dont seem aggressive, something to consider if you’re allergic lol. Lastly the burgers are pretty pricey for being a humble looking shack. Seems they raised their prices due to recent events which is understandable. Are the burgers worth the price? Well that’s for you to decide 😉 would definitely come back

Don't let the looks of this place deceive you! Best Burger's, best fries anywhere in the universe! We got there after dark so I didn't take any pictures but maybe next time. I went with my family who mostly eat non meat Menu items. Apparently they claim that you cannot tell the difference between their plant based burgers and beef burgers. The fries are a meal in and of themselves. I think most people get their burgers to go but they do have a covered patio there if you want to "dine in".

I usually enjoy this place but a placed a online order and it said 10 minutes unless peak time but i waited 50 minutes there after it took me 20 minutes to get there after i placed the order and i still never received it after near a hour of waiting i had to go so lost out on my thirty dollars and a hour of my time for absolutely nothing i would have zero problem if it told me it was going to take awhile I wouldn’t of came so soon but saying ten minutes unless its busy is not valid you all need to find a different way of putting the estimated time. Edit: okay but ive been back like 5 times since and i havent had any problems and the fries soooo good so in changing my 2 star i put out of anger to a 5 i do recommend

We got in late to Nashville and needed to eat something before we crashed at our hotel. When I searched for "food near me", the Grillshack hit the top of the list. When we arrived, I wasn't sure we had made the best choice. Boy was I wrong. This is one of the best burgers I have ever eaten and the fries were equally as satisfying. My only criticism is that there was too much. I couldn't finish the burger or the pile of fries.

Food is always served fresh! Fries are by far my favorite. Airy, crisp, and big! The burgers are seasoned well but you only have a couple of options for burger add-ons (bacon and onions). They do sell wings but I've never tried them before. This is a great go-to for an afternoon meal on the weekends.

I have to say, reviews talking about how this place looks crack me up. It's literally called grillshack, y'all! It's a little burger shack in the middle of a fun neighborhood. My SO is a chef and we love the burgers here. They are easy and accessible from our place. Just call ahead to order and pick up. Love the spicy ketchup and the wedge salad is good for a little extra filler. I love the fries too. It's a no frills spot but they do what they do right.

I grew up on Waters Avenue as a kid when this place used to be a delicious bbq place. I took my kids to see where I once lived and decided to stop here. The food is amazing. It’s a little hole in the wall type of place, but I love that they use eco friendly packaging and the veggie burger was delicious. I’ll probably make this a weekly stop. Honestly, I wasn't blown away with an out of this world mouthwatering burger. the patty size should have been bigger for a $10 entree that includes fries. The fries were a little greasy but had a larger than expected portion size. The service was excellent! Very nice guy and even allowed me to return to my vehicle and walked my food out to me so I did not have to stand in the cold.

That was a great burger. It tasted like what many burgers from which many may be based. The fries are thick and very well done. Easily one of the best burgers in Nashville, if not the best. Side note, the wings taste homemade and are a solid flavor. They are meatier than most wings I've had. Keep that in mind if you take any with your burger. Lastly, Old Bay. Get it on your fries. Get it on your wings.

Usually I’m thinking over typical over hype and probably just good at best. But Grillshack was not hyperbole nonsense. It was legit awesome! And now I dare say... best burger in Nashville. This is a great quirky place to get tasty food. The menu can be read in a few minutes but has selections to satisfy varied palates. My favorite is the un-bunned burger. I can also recommend the veggie burger which is made in house and is a scale above any other veggie burger I've ever eaten. The casual establishment has a screened in portch for a dining room. Most East Nashville residents do pick up. It is East Nashville cool. I keep their number handy when I get a craving for their food.

One of my absolute favorites for burgers and fries. They don't try to get too fancy, they've got a great basic burger. Fries are delicious. They are literally a shack with some outdoor seating so know that going in. They have a veggie burger, chicken strips and kid options as well as some grilled cheese for those looking for non-beef options. Glass bottles of soda to drink.

Been here multiple times, and each time have called ahead so I show up, grab my meal, and leave. Each time the burger and fries have been cooked perfect. You'll end up paying about $10.00 for both, but it's honestly a ton of food. Never has anything been too greasy, or food ingredients not fresh. If your looking for tying good burgers out, this unassuming place is awesome.

One of the go to burgers in the city & the absolute most fabulous French fries you'll ever taste. Their spuds are huge & freshly cut, so you get plenty to go with your grassfed all beef burgers, which have buttered & toasted buns. Riverside Grillshack burgers are easily a Top 5 burger in the area & has won the Best Burger award in the past. They supposedly have great breakfast sandwiches too, but I'd never know, because well, the burgers.

Fantastic hand cut fries that are crunchy on the outside and smooth and creamy on the inside. Burger has an amazing quality flavor, the high quality ingredients really shine through, all on an amazing crispy bun. This little shack makes better burgers than a lot of the bigger "nicer" places in town. One of, if not THE best place in the area for a quick no frills bite.

It's.... such a strange place! It felt like I stepped out of Nashville into a small town in Florida or South Carolina. It feels like a beach side shack right in the middle of East Nashville. The food took quite a long time to make (about 15-20 minutes for a burger, chicken tenders and a blue-cheese grilled sandwich) with a nice little outside area to sit in. The fries were good, the food was greasy and pretty good. I wouldn't say it was my kind of food, so it was great for what it is. But the staff was incredibly friendly and it was a great experience.

We made a trip to Nashville just to try this place. It's more of a to go type venue but there is seating if you want to hang out, and it's covered and screened in. Very "no frills" which is what intrigued me in the first place. The food was amazing... I fed 4 for $40 and it was very likely the best burger any of us have eaten. The fries were out of this world. You ain't leaving hungry, either. The burgers are good sized and they load you up with fries. The lady at the front was very sweet too. Perfect for hangoha out although it would be more fun on warmer days.

If I could give the Gill Shack 10 stars I would. We purchased our Green Mountain grill elsewhere and had nothing but trouble with it from the get go. The business where we purchased it (Kalona) refused to stand behind the product as well as the Green Mountain company itself. We finally took it to Grill Shack for repair and they treated us like we had purchased it from them. Top notch customer service despite being swamped. Once we picked up the grill they accidentally forgot to put the grills back into our unit. They overnighted them and I received them within 24 hours. They basically replaced everything but the shell and the repair bill was very reasonable. Next time I need to purchase a grill it will be from the Grill Shack. Thank you Grill Shack, a business who cares about it customers.

My best advice would be to call ahead. I just went there, ordered and was told it would be 30 minutes because they were behind. I left, came back and it was still another ten minutes. That extra time can be rough when your hungover. It's a small place so I'm sure there isn't a lot of room for extra workers. Fortunately, the breakfast was delicious and one of the best hangover foods I've had in awhile. I got the breakfast Philly and it hit all the spots. Had it not, my rating would be a lot lower for the wait. Next time I'm in town I'll make sure to call ahead, problem solved.
