There's a reason this spot has been voted best burger in nashville year over year 😋 we got the BBQ burger, the Gabby burger, and the Seamus burger - they were all delicious. You can't go wrong! OH, and make sure you get the sweet potato fries. They should get an award for this too - thick, sweet, crunchy and so so do yummy. We love this burger spot!

Wow!!! I haven’t gotten service like this in forever! Every employee was super pleasant and helpful in a packed restaurant. I ordered online 6 custom burgers. The order was ready ahead of time and perfect! There is a small parking lot and street parking available. Pricing was very fair for the giant burgers and huge portion of fries. Someone actually helped me carry the box out to my car (I had my toddler on my hip). Gabby’s is everything you want from a greasy spoon- delicious, fast, affordable. On top of that, the restaurant was super clean and managed beautifully. I will definitely be back! I was so impressed and wish I had tried it sooner!

This is an absolute lunch gem!!! The burgers and hot dogs are cooked extremely well and so many sauces and topping options. The customer service is top notch and the staff look like they actually enjoy coming to work. I tip my hat to the owner for that environment. Parking is rough and not a ton of spots just fyi. Pictures all over the place about Nashville sports and a wish board. The fries are crispy hot and salty but I really come here for the sweet potato fries!!! They are a thicker fry and just darn awesome. I would highly recommend getting multiple items on the Keanu and sharing. Drinks are sweet but not too sweet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Absolute home-run of a dining experience! The staff was helpful, and over-the-top friendly. The food was too-notch. I had the Gabby’s Burger with half-and-half fries (mixed sweet potato and regular) and my wife had the BLT with pasta salad. The burger was the best one I have ever tasted. Seasoned perfectly, really juicy, great toppings... the whole package! Wife loved the BLT and enjoyed the dressing on the noodles. Opted for a chocolate shake afterward as well! Do that. The atmosphere was really the icing on the cake. The staff treated us like family, greeted the regulars, cracked jokes... just really enjoyed serving their customers. If I were to ever own a restaurant, this is the type of place I would want. Really glad we made it over and really want to come back!

Absolutely fantastic. Energetic crew with a lot of personality. Fresh ingredients, excellent burger, and fresh cut fries, sweet or potato. I also noticed that they have milk shakes, and that they are not chemical concoctions, but real words that you do not need a degree to understand. Tennessee has always been a favorite of mine, and Gabby’s is just one more reason to go. Thanks for the great experience.

Consistency, great service, and even greater burgers! Fries always cut fresh, and their sauce bar is one of the best. Make sure to note that they are open from 10:30-2:30PM (4 hr window). 10/10 🍔

This lunchtime burger spot is a winner. I was greeted warmly upon entering, and was not rushed whilst ordering. It's not very big, nor is its parking lot, but the staff has the process well mastered. There are picnic tables behind Gabby's so that you can eat outside. Gluten-free buns are available for upgrade. If they have it today you can substitute watermelon for french fries and have a healthier more hydrated lunch. The burger was tasty. The milkshake was also good. There's an interesting visual FAQ above the bar which is entertaining to read while waiting. IIRC, according to the signage, they may have Nashville's smallest restroom. It's right on the corner there at Humphreys Street.

First we will start with the atmosphere it was amazing you walk in and everyone from cashier to kitchen staff greet you with a smile and a hello even though they were packed and busy The food was absolutely wonderful me and my wife both got the chili cheeseburgers and trust me they do go skimpy on the chili or the cheese it tasted amazing the fries are hand cut and wonderful and my wife got the pasta salad and it tasted amazing There is definitely a reason their burgers hav won so many awards i wish there were more resteraunts out there like this one they seem to care about their customers and the put love into their food we will definitely be return next time we are in nashville

This was the first and last place we went to when we arrived to Nashville and we received the most warming, southern hospitality. All the employees were so welcoming, helpful, and authentic. The vibes of that place is just great. And the burgers were absolutely amazing! And the fruit tea is so yummy. Such a gem in this city. They were so kind, they even hooked us up with free shakes before we left back to Chicago. Thank you so much!!! This was definitely our favorite place💜

Update review 6/13/2022 It's been far too long since I've last visited Gabby's burgers... and they are still awesome and epic! Incredibly delicious burgers and fresh-cut fries, especially the sweet potato fries. The menu is great, but the secret menu is even better. Ask about the secret menu, and if you need to guess the password to see the secret menu, look for a key word on the regular menu.

One of the best burgers in Nashville! Both the bun and the burger are less dense than most places, leading to a messy but delicious eating experience. The Seamus is what I always get. It's a good size but not huge, so that way I've got room for the sweet potato fries. Lol. The normal fries are great, but the sweet potato fries are where it's at! I highly recommend this place to locals and to tourists who are willing to venture a little outside the downtown area for a true local delight.

This place was by far the best little joint in Nashville! I was working in the area and someone recommended it to me! I was blown away by the greatness found within this little Wedgewood hidden gem! The environment was amazing! There was a line out the door, but it moved very quickly. They've raised the prices over the past few years, but it is definitely worth it. I met the owner and the owner and cook both asked me if I enjoyed the food. I can't wait to go back here and eat again!!

The joy of lunch with the boss. Decided to come here from Franklin for our lunch. It’s a bit of a cruise but hey, when the boss is there, all is square. It’s a cool little dive in a tiny parking lot. It was a parking lot and it was tiny. Counter service, burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs a plenty. I got a bacon Swiss and my co workers got Gabby Burgers, BBQ Chicken sandwich and one got a giant hot dog. I got sweet potato fries and they were amazing. Burger was good, juicy, nice cheese and bacon ratio. Here’s the breakdown: Funky place +1 star; good burger +1 star; great fries +1 star; friendly, funny staff +1 star. If in the area or if guys from work wanted to go again I would.

I saw this place driving by in an area I’d never been in and I knew I had to stop in. I was not disappointed!! The customer service was great. Everyone was so friendly. The fries are amazing and the homemade burger is so good! The Kickin Ketchup was perfect with the fries and so was the Chipotle Mayo! I definitely recommend stopping by for an awesome “hole-in-the-wall” experience!!

It's OK but the price is more than what one would want to pay for an OK burger. The fries a limp and super soggy. Make a good poutine base but as a fry, they aren't great. The shake was pretty thin. It's an OK meal but at $20 total, I'll seek a better value

This burger joint kicks butt!! Great menu full of delicious traditional burgers and sandwiches at a great price.. They offer various kinds of fries, dipping sauces & hot sauces, as well as sodas, teas and fountain drinks.. The young folks who run this place are wonderful people and they’ll quickly bring a smile to your face while you wait your food.. Located just across the street from the abandoned Greer Stadium, Gabby’s is close enough to town that it’s conveniently located but it’s all tucked away so you’ll find it totally private and low key.. Full disclosure, I actually had a chicken sandwich not a burger, but everyone with me had burgers and LOVED them!! All in all, this is a great spot for lunch and a must-visit while in Nashville!

Fantastic burgers. Terrific fries. Amazing seasoned, juicy chicken sandwich. Literally this is the best burger place when you are looking for a no-frills, good burger. Sure they have some interesting ones that include chili or bacon, but their original burgers taste so great as well. I have heard good things about their milkshakes but never got around to trying them. They have a condiment section that is flowing with different hot sauces, mustard, wasabi mayo, spicy ketchup, and other unique and delicious sauces to add to your burger or dip your fries in. The workers are friendly and making food for the love of making food. This place may seem like a random, run down looking building, but it is exactly what anyone looking for a good burger should be watching out for. Definitely coming here again as soon as I can!

We really enjoy a good hamburger and we are always trying to find the best. We have heard of Gabby's for several years, but have never found the time to get there on Saturday. We must say that we were not disappointed. We had the Seamus and bacon Swiss burger. The bacon and Swiss was a little over cooked and a little dry. When we ordered, we were shown the choices and asked what we wanted on the Seamus. We ordered everything except ketchup. When we ordered the bacon and Swiss, we told them we wanted the pickles on the side. We got just what we asked for, bacon and Swiss burger with pickles on the side, nothing else. We assumed the same choices as the Seamus would come on the bacon and Swiss. Now the Seamus was excellent! It was moist and juicy with all the trimmings. It is one of the best burgers in Nashville. It made up for the bacon and Swiss. We think that with right trimmings, the bacon and Swiss would have been much better. We were very disappointed with the fries. We asked for crispy fries. They were cooked more than the other fries we saw, but they were not crispy. Overall, pretty darn good.

My wife and I found this place after the Rock n Roll Marathon. There neighborhood was a little sketch as we drive past an abandoned baseball stadium, and vacant buildings. At first glance she didn't want to go in, but I insisted. The place was full of locals and the girls at counter greeted us as soon as we walked in. Extremely friendly staff passionate about the burgers they build. If the photos don't speak for themselves, this is one of the best burger joints we have ever stopped in. The Shamus and a Bacon Swiss smokin hot on a super soft bun. Get you one!

Who doesn't love the local, personable burger joint? I went here for the burger and left for the fries. What I mean is that the burger was good, but I was a bit disappointed by the fact the bun was cold. By contrast, I was swept away by the sweet potato fries. I really am not a big fry eater, but those fries were AMAZING. Also, the free dipping sauces were a fun addition. Staff was really friendly, and I loved how they had pictures of all of their previous employees. That seemed to exemplify their approach to life. I would happily go back on my next visit to Nashville!

Tucked away behind the sounds old stadium, this is certainly a local's must go to spot! But at lunch, don't be surprised to see the line out the door because it's not too secret anymore. Such a fantastic burger joint in an unsuspecting location. This is a small building so make sure to get here before they open if you want to find a seat. This is the spot the locals definitely go to! The burgers are cooked with flavor and served with a smile. I have never seen a staff at a burger joint so friendly and receptive. The lady bringing food out, Maggie, I believe was her name was incredible and gave our child a balloon when we came in which made her day! The fries were also delicious we had regular fries and sweet potato fries both of which were delicious. Such a great spot to go to when in Nashville. Don’t miss out, stop by Gabby’s! I walked in to a place I had never been to before to pick up my call in order and was greeted with "Hey Tamika!" That was very dope especially considering that there was a line of people ordering on site and others waiting for their food. Darryl was awesome multitasking manning the grill, packing orders, and singing along to the Temptations and all the Motown tunes playing in the background. When I grabbed my food Darryl said "Thanks! Cya tomorrow," I said Ok! Because something about his salutation had me convinced! Later I found it's because he must know his burgers are just that good!! I mean they are soooooo good! I doubt I make a burger at home again and I will schedule my life around being able to get to Gabby's before they close at 2:30 on a weekday! I mean it was soooo good that I didn't even care that my order wasn't right. It was kinda like well maybe Darryl knew I only needed one type or cheese and that I really didn't need the bacon. The fabulously perfect lemonade that he tossed in for free along with the super fresh and piping hot fries more than made up for my missing cheese and bacon. I won't be back tomorrow...but I will fosho be back often!

I work out of town alot and try to eat local owned food where I'm at and on my birthday I came across Gabby's and said that is where I'm going since that is what they call me at work. As soon as we enter into the restaurant we were greeted with the best customer service I have ever encountered and they all acknowledged us and were so super nice. Since it was my birthday got a free milkshake and stickers. The food was amazing and I will never forget the experience that I had there and I will advertise the place to everyone I know because I felt the love from everyone there and I have never felt this from any place I have ate at.

Tried Gabby's for the first time today and the food was great (I got the Seamus), but what really makes this place exception is the staff! Been wanting to try this place ever since I moved near Nashville and man it didn’t disappoint. Taste, quality, freshness are all on point! Thick juicy patties, not some measly little fast food burger. You can tell everything is homemade all the way down to the amazing sweet potato fries. Even my strawberry shake had real strawberries mixed into it. Definitely will be coming back. My go to spot for sure now!

Gabby’s is the best burger in Nashvie. But it’s also big happy family that welcomed me in years ago. I enjoy eating at the counter to interact with the staff. My go to is normally the monthly special or a BBQ grilled chicken with pepper jack on grilled wheat bun. When I forget to ask for a grilled bun Margaret asks “Brian did you want your bun grilled?” They learn your name so they can call you by name.

When I moved to Nashville in 2013, I was in search for the best burger in town. As I went down my list, I found this place; Gabby's Burger & Fries - I haven't gone to any more places on that list. Not only is their burger by far the best, they have a great team and owner. They care for their customers and their food and it shows very much. I have introduced quite a few people to Gabby's over the years and never once has anyone been disappointed. They use fresh and local ingredients which makes all the difference. The buns, beef, pimento cheese, and sweets are all local - with some made in house! It is truly a great hole-in-the-wall local spot that is wildly overlooked. Just like their burger; it's a taste of Nashville you hope will go on forever. I am now leaving Nashville to move back west in the next few days. I'll definitely miss my Gabby's Burger with sweet potato fries. And when I'm in town next, I will make sure I make it back to Gabby's! Thank you Gabby's Team for always being so kind, happy, and serving a dang-good burger.

Ok this place is a gem. Every time I go here it’s always the same smiling happy staff ready to make your order. It’s an experience. Don’t go if you want that cookie cutter burger bar. This one you can sit at the grill counter and joke with the staff as they make order. Parking is limited.

Came here and visited for the first time. A small but busy restaurant that seems to have been around for some time. Parking is hard to find as they only have a few parking spots in their lot. Had to park around the corner. Before coming and by looking at photos on google it looked like they had a drive thru which I was fooled to find out they don’t once I got there. However it does look like you can order ahead of time and also take out if you’d like. I ordered the autumn shake which is their special for fall it comes as a 16 or 24 oz. I also ordered their original burger with pepper jack with a side order of fries. The burger was good but would of preferred that the cheese would of been melted. The bun was bigger than the burger and more bread than I would of liked. The burger and taste was well however it didn’t hold together well and immediately fell apart. The fries reminds you of when your mom or grandma would hand cut them and put them in the fryer like the good old days. I would come here again but maybe I’d choose more toppings. Service was also fast despite how packed it was.

Nice little hole in the wall place. Wasn't busy at all when I went which is great. I ordered the January special burger, which was a burger topped with BBQ pulled pork and coleslaw. This seemed like an interesting combination, so I wanted to try it. The burger came out quickly and it was really good. The fries were also good and tasted like fresh potatoes. There were also several condiments there. I tried the ranch and the spicy ketchup. The ranch was surprisingly fresh, buttermilk ranch. The keptchup also tasted like it was made in-house. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. My top two burger restaurants are Pharmacy Burger and now Gabby's. The burgers are different so it's hard to compare them, but both are excellent.

Uptate: Gabby's is still one of the best burger joints in town and the folks who make them possible are outstanding! The burgers and fries are extraordinary, but the real hidden gem is sitting on the small wire rack to the right of the register...when you visit, you're cutting yourself short if you don't grab one of those goodies from the rack and finish off your meal properly! Waits can be long depending on the day so get there early or stop by for a late lunch if you don't want to spend a little time waiting. Even if it's a long wait, it's worth it!

I had the single pattie, with cheese, bacon and a side of fries. There fries were so good, and not the cheap crinkle cut, but hand cut and crisp. I totally recommend this place. It can be busy, but so worth the wait.

I read about Gabby's when searching for places to eat in Nashville but not being from the area didn't know where it was. We happened to drive past after a distillery tour and thankfully decided to stop. My husband and I both got the monthly special burger, shared fries and I got a shake. I barely sat down and the shake was brought over, followed very shortly by our food. Everything was delicious and they offered a discount for my husband being a first responder. The staff were all super friendly and we'll make it point to come back when we return to Nashville!

Three stars due to the place being dirty and a bit run down. The food was okay. Fries taste like Five Guys but more reasonably priced. The burgers are over hyped. They taste like a burger you’d get from your neighbor’s summer barbecue. Two double cheese burgers and one fry for two people is $27. Something to keep in mind. Wouldn’t go back but at least we tried it.

Yummo! It's one of those great, messy, eat at a picnic table kind of burgers. I had the Seamus and fries, more than enough. Dill pickles were tangy and crisp. The regular fries were just right with little leftover nuggets from the sweet potato fries that may have been cooked in the same fryer, creating a delightful salty-sweet bite. Friendly, helpful staff definately add to it's success as one of Nashville's favorite burger joints.

The building is a bit of a hole in the wall but that is part of the charm. The staff is friendly and talkative and they seem to genuinely enjoy their job. The place is small with only a few tables and a counter. Think about getting stuff to go whenever possible or plan on waiting a few minutes. The servers check in frequently to grab refills and such. So I decided to finally come to gabby's and try out the burger I've heard so much about. So the place is kind of a little shack, with the kitchen area being the same as the dining area, with some bar style seating and some tables. Oh and of course the long line that builds up, which I can now see why... I got the BBQ burger with sweet potato fries, lettuce and onion. First thing I tried was the sweet potato fries, and they were amazing. You could tell they use real sweet potato, as the fries come out a bit sweet yet still salty and crunchy. And just the right proportion of each! The amount of cinnamon and salt used is just right. Meanwhile, the burger was pretty great too, definitely not a gourmet burger from a restaurant cooked to a specific temp or anything, but they just cook it amazing themselves without even asking. The caramelized onions were made well too, a bit caramelized but not too soft and still crispy. Overall a great burger and particularly fries and experience! Definitely returning when I get the craving for a great burger! Perhaps ill try the shake next time too.

Gabby's is the best place I have found for burgers that are like the ones you would make for yourself at home. They make their burgers by hand and they don't use any kind of pre-formed mold to shape the burger before cooking them. Each burger is unique. They have different sized burgers to fit your appetite and a wide variety of cheeses if you want a cheeseburger. They have killer sweet potato fries and a great homemade dipping sauce that complements the flavor of the fries perfectly. With the current COVID-19 situation, there is no dine-in option but it is worth the trip to get your burger to go.

First visit and loved the local dive vibe of the joint. A line out to the parking lot quickly formed after we arrived. We were underwhelmed with the staff, not very friendly and a bit snobby to a couple of out-of-town people who happened by. The burgers were cooked as asked but not to perfection: no char on the outside. The meat was tasty, grass fed beef and the fries were fresh cut deep fried with a slightly sweet seasoning. Would have been nice to know that sweet potato fries were an option. There's a secret menu on the shelf: Apparently it's a thing to not look like a newbie and ask for something off that menu. Would recommend stopping by if there is not a line and you've been there before.

The cheesecake factory used to have my favorite veggie burger (beet based), but since they changed their recipe, I've been on search for a new veggie burger….and GABBY'S has it!! Stopped into Gabby's today. Had the Gabby Burger, Sweet Potato Fries and a Chocolate Milkshake. Very good atmosphere; that old fashion burger joint feel, where everyone is a friend. Best of all the owner was behind the counter working, greeting and taking care of the patrons like an owner should! Fabulous milkshake and best Sweet Potato Fries that I've found in Nashville thus far. A very good burger; although, based on the menu and smell I was a little disappointed. Had a hint of strange flavoring, burger was a little dry and no salt; would take very little work and the Gabby burger will be on its way to becoming the best burger in the city. If you want a great burger, come here. They use grass fed beef for all of their burgers. They have chicken sandwiches. They do hot dogs as well. While you're there, check out the secret menu. It's in a silver briefcase that's mounted to the wall. Here's a preview: Bacon Burger Dog. It's a burger patty, with bacon, and a hot dog all crammed between a bun. It is absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. Doug, the owner, is a truly wonderful human being. He is super nice and loves to joke around with the customers.

Delicious little hole in the wall! The burgers are out of this world, and I wish I could have brought home a gallon of the fruit tea! It's a small space, but I didn't feel cramped. The staff was Jonny on the spot to clear off tables and/or take your trash away for you, but I never felt rushed to finish and leave. It's totally worth waiting a few minutes in line! I have to mention not only is the food exceptional but the employees and even customers make you feel welcomed and at home in your uncle and aunts backyard BBQ. they have gluten-free buns for people with celiac disease like myself and they accommodate each customer the way they need to be addressed. They are attentive and efficient and fast with taking and making orders. I'll be giving gabby's my business for many years to come and I will not even begin on expressing how reasonable the prices are and how big the portions are for the price asked. It's one of the few places I think actually has a veggie burger worth getting as most restaurants simply phone in whatever they're attempting to pass off to appease "that vegetarian with the group" I wasn't a fan of the fries the last time I was there, I can't remember what the deal was but there was something that stood out. This tiny little joint is full of personality especially the owner, Doug who is front and center with his larger than life infectious persona waiving hellos to the crowd lining up and out the door to order his addictive hamburgers, dogs and milkshakes. Gabby's is the one place in Nashville you need to get lucky on with the time. You can't just decide to go. You have to make a day around it. The limited hours is not a complaint either. It's a small little place by the old Greer Stadium tucked behind the dinky South Nashville neighborhood between the Industrial sector by the rails. The food is amazing, however dont come expecting not to walk out of their yawning and stretching especially with the bigger burgers. It will fill you up! You might say, "Oh I'll stop before I'm full." All i have to say is good luck putting down the food. The fries are simple, nothing too fancy. They are great for dipping in ketchup and do their job well. I especially enjoy their homemade milkshakes! My brother had the vanilla and i had the strawberry. It's all great! Now for some negative aspects. The location is very small. Its a tight fit to walk around the place. So forget about getting a table. The service is fast, and the food doesnt take ages to come out. Best of all, you can see it get made right in front of you. It really adds this transparent, human like touch to the food. Gabby's is laidback and calm. And yes, there are shirts.

I was hoping for an out of mind experience. It was ok. The fries were overdone (somewhat burnt) and had a funny taste. The roll was fantastic - nice and fresh. The pimento cheese I got on the burger was yum. The burger though - just plain jane. My friend thinks they put something in with the burger meat - like perhaps some worstcheshire (sp?). She has a pretty good taste profile so I have to believe they did. It's fun to try one time.

A ridiculously good burger because Gabby's focuses on making a burger taste like a *burger.* I think it's an important distinction because too many burger joints forget that a burger is first, last, and always a piece of ground beef on a bun. Everything else is noise. Go with the Little Seamus. Hand-pattied, grilled, and dressed to taste with fresh lettuce and onions, dill pickles and choice of cheese. Good fries. Some prefer the sweet potato fries, but they leave me wishing I'd home with plain old potato fries every time. The restaurant itself is small. Seats Maybe 2 dozen tops. Gabby's is an amazing gem, in a city where burger joints abound. If you like five guys, you'll love Gabbys. Similar style, but better quality, and for the same price or less. A burger fries and a drink will run you around $10. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to try something new. Service is also excellent, Doug and his team are just great people. The only downside is the sudden popularity of this place has made it pretty crowded most days, expect to wait in line for 5-10 minutes. Try and find the secret menu, I recommend the HAPS burger!

There are some things that'll change a person's life for the better. Getting a new car, learning to properly tweeze your eyebrows, and getting rid of the adolescent acne that destroyed your teenage years will all add a little sparkle to your life. Gabby's will add all that sparkle and more. It's just SO DAMNED GOOD. The grass fed beef makes such a huge difference.
