BANANA FLAVORED COFFEE!!! Nashville is known for its amazing food and good music, but I’d like to also say that coffee shops like this can’t be found anywhere else. The Frothy Monkey has banana flavored coffee and other fun varieties to try which makes this location so unique. The food is also delicious, fresh, and colorful! Workers are kind and the atmosphere is great as well. Hoping to be back soon!

It was seriously one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious and fresh. The people here are very friendly and kind. Our server Madelyn was amazing!! We brought our dog and it was one of the most dog friendly places I have been too. They immediately brought water out for our dog.

Great spot! Honestly it’s a time investment on a Saturday morning (we arrived at 9:50am and waiting 45 minutes for a table, then once we sat down we waited another 30 minutes for coffee, 45 for food) — but I don’t want to rate them down for being busy. They move as fast as they can, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and the fun blends of coffee were delicious. Just make sure you’re not in a rush when you eat here & you’ll enjoy it!

Coffee and food was great. I had the french toast with sausage and a Havana Latte. Place is a little small though so it can be a bit of a wait. Parking available in the rear if you don't want to find street parking. I would visit again.

Absolutely loved the staff and atmosphere. Food was delish. Their choice of vegetables topping the avocado that's was different but tasty and filling. The surdough is really good! Their breakfast potatoes were perfectly roasted, seasoned, and very tasty. Their variety of unique coffee options was just what we needed to kick start our day. Thanks to the team at Frothy Monkey!

A trip back home to Nashville is incomplete without a Frothy Monkey visit! This place is so versatile. I have so many memories studying for exams here, catching up with friends over coffee, birthday dinners, etc. The coffee is excellent, probably the best in the city. And most people know that. But what most people don’t know is that their dinner menu is also incredible!!! I recommend the soups, chicken+gnocchi, and salads.

Was visiting Nashville for the first time with my husband and came here for brunch before we headed back to TX. Delicious! Great outside seating area, dog friendly, and staff is super kind and friendly! Highly recommend trying the turtle latte iced w/ almond milk if you’re a coffee lover like me!

What a SOLID experience at this 12South location of Frothy Monkey. I had equally pleasant experience at their downtown location as well — but I have to say this spot at 12South is way cozier in a house setting during Winter season. I ordered Kunefe Latte which was terrific 5/5 and Basil Pesto Chicken 4/5 plating was 5/5 just like you’ll receive at a fine diner, the only suggestion I have to the recipe designer is that squash doesn’t go that well with grilled chicken. Broccoli or Zucchini or Brussel Sprouts would have paired well. The execution of the recipe was bang on. The sprouts, kale and green onions complimented the chicken so well. They do have rear parking lot that we didn’t know about, but we found street parking right opposite their location. And I have to add, their staff is the one of the friendliest and nicest; and heavily focused on your experience and convenience. Nick was awesome! Mighty impressed with them and will definitely keep coming here!

Really cute place that was full of patrons. We've been to many coffee shops but this one was just ok for us. I ordered a turtle latte and it lacked the mocha caramel flavors that other coffee shops provide. My husband liked his banana latte. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich with everything bagel option. The bagel was kinda hard. There is plenty of indoor seating.....two floors. There are a few tables outside. Prices reasonable.

The service is excellent and the place looks really good. However I expected a little more of the coffee. We ordered two signature coffees and a hot chocolate needless to say that they were not hot at all, the taste on the drinks was ok but nothing special. Finally we ordered a chocolate cake for my son and he loved it. It’s like a 50/50 feeling.

Wasn't a huge fan of the food I had rhe avocado toast and it was on a very tough sourdough bread. Just wasn't my favorite. Beautifully plated though. Morning drink options were delicious and thats what we came for. Nice place for those coming off night shift.

Delicious drinks and food. We had a group of four and everyone loved their breakfast. They had multiple gluten free options to choose from. We stopped there twice in our three day stay in Nashville.

Nice cafe environment and the food was so delicious! Ill have to come back again to try the drinks & breakfasts, especially with a Great price for a great meal. The cheese and charcuterie board was well stocked, unexpected & worth the money. All the items tasted so good. This could make a meal for one easily. The Gail salad lunch portion was just the right size to fill after some cheese, breads and meats. I ordered the Brisket sandwich to go for dinner and looks so good. Thanks to the friendly staff and hostes for their services.

I searched high and low for good matcha in Nashville and Frothy Monkey nailed it! They were busy and crowded but working hard and it was worth the wait. We just ordered drinks for take out and walked around the area. But would definitely be fun to sit in to eat/drink too. It’s a loud place, not a quiet coffee shop for studying. Not bad, just a different vibe. And right out back is a great mural!! Definitely recommend stopping by!

Food was good but way too salty. Service started out good but our server disappeared at some point and we never saw him again. So the service ended up not being that great. I had to get up numerous times to ask for things like sugar for the coffee and the bill at the end. It wasn't that busy either. There are not enough bathrooms for that size place either. There were long queues for the bathrooms even though it wasn't busy! One of the kitchen staff spent a good 15 minutes in one of the bathrooms, which further made the line worse. I guess overall I was a little disappointed by my experience.

We came here for coffee and breakfast on our way out of town and I wish we would have found this place sooner! Their coffee was amazing, I got the Iced turtle latte and my boyfriend got the ice mocha monkey and they were by far two of the best lattes we’ve ever had. For breakfast he got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel and that was to die for. The bagel had a perfect crunch on the outside but soft on the inside, with just enough EBTB seasoning. I got avo toast and wow, I had never had avo toast with broccoli, squash, and radishes before but I definitely will again! (I dropped my box while getting into the car so the first picture is not the best but wanted to show how much food you actually got). Definitely will be coming back here!

Great coffee and breakfast sandwich, atmosphere is fun and cozy, staff were all super nice and accommodating, we had our luggage with us as our Airbnb checkout was 10 am and flight wasn't until 7pm :( but they stored it against a wall for us, would definitely put this in your list of places to stop while in Nashville!

A bit of a wait for food but the biscuit and gravy and french toast were yummy. The apple orchata drink was too sweet, but good. There are some seats, but most of the people line up for drinks to go.

Neat place in a neat part of town. The whole street was cool to walk down. Hostess and server were both very nice and attentive. The food was great and the restaurant was clean. We saw the brisket on the menu online, but not in the restaurant. We asked, and apparently it's sort of seasonal and they only sometimes have it. That's ok though. The pasta dishes were amazing. The monkey Mocha with banana syrup was yummy. Tiramisu and cherry crumble were also delicious. Recommended to anyone passing through.

My friends and I are visiting for their birthday and this was a cute breakfast spot with very good coffee and delicious food! It was a little pricey, but definitely worth a trip when on vacation. Cute cafe with a calm vibe despite a very busy Sunday morning. We arrived around 10:45am with a line out the door. We decided to place a to go order instead of waiting for a table. The host was very accommodating and nice. We waited around 15min for our drinks and 25 for food. The food was delicious with options for gluten free items. I was impressed by the staff, the vibe and the food. Thank you for a great experience despite a wait. Will be back if we find ourselves in Nashville again.

Chorizo biscuits and gravy and avocado toast FTW! This location of frothy monkey seems to always have the best service and food and the indoor and outdoor ambiance is awesome. It is a touch on the pricey side given portion sizes but that’s not uncommon. Overall great place and I come here all the time. Have never been disappointed.

The most happening coffee shop in 12 South, abs fire a good reason! The coffee here is top notch, and so is the service considering how popular it is. They’re used coffee is relaxing on a hot summer day, and they have pretty good food as well, but the coffee is really where is it at. The outside patio is also nice because they have small trees, which provide much welcome shade during the afternoons.

The first visit we got the farmhouse breakfast which was excellent! They have great quality bacon! We liked it so much that we went back the next morning. This time I got huevos rolando. Oh. My. Gosh. If you like Mexican food, you will LOVE THIS! It was Mexican stewed tomatoes and onions with black beans, potato wedges, fried eggs, avocado, and sour cream. It was definitely out of my comfort zone to try, but SO WORTH IT!

Disappointed. It’s a Sunday and food took forever to come and we never got our coffees, we ate all our food and canceled our coffees at that point. All of our dishes w bacon w couldn’t even taste it from how little it was. Definitely not worth the 45 minutes wait we had. Their menu is not clear about which items are gluten-free free as they are or only gluten-free with a substitution of gluten-free bread. This caused confusion between me and my server that led to me having an allergic reaction that took me several hours to recover from. I went to this place because they got very good reviews from the gluten-free community but sadly, that was not my experience. Its a cute place and their food was good, but I honestly didn't get to enjoy it as much as I otherwise would have.

It was good but not worth all the hype! We stopped in to get a couple of lattes and one was very very sweet and the other was not very sweet (flavors vanilla and hazelnut). Looks like a nice place for a casual brunch/lunch with friends! The drink menu took some time to load on the phone, but they have it posted on a window before you walk in!

Fantastic little cafe in Nashville! We got the Britt and California and they were both delicious. It gets REALLY busy but worth the wait. Their bloody Mary’s are amazing and come with olives, okra and celery. Service is excellent, too - even though you order at the front and then go sit down someone was walking around making sure everyone had everything they needed. Super friendly staff and very accommodating. Will return again when we are back in town.

Very nice establishment in 12South about 15 min out of downtown Nashville. I went there for breakfast and while there was a line forming out the door, they had more than enough seating inside, on the porch and outside. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! If you are looking for a nice place to get away from Broadway and the crowds check this joint out. They also had a local brewery Czaanz on tap which has some of the best micro brew I have had in a long time =)

I ordered the Crab Cake sandwich and red potatoes. The whole plate was not good at all so I returned it and ordered something new. They were so apologetic when they brought my new plate and even gave us a $10 gift card for the trouble. I had the Gail Salad and the Cream of Spinach with gnocchi soup and it was incredible. Seriously one of the best meals I've had in a while.

Brunch was quite the experience for a number of different reasons, but overall the food and coffee were exceptional and I will be returning for more. Note: this location does not do pour over coffees, only drip. Not being from Nashville, I was stunned by the amount of people hanging out on 12South. It's super busy and a bit of a pain to navigate (especially brunch on a Saturday). Getting in the door was a struggle as the flow isn't really optimized for the traffic, but be patient. Also, there is a parking lot on the back! Just turn on the next street after it. The menu is like southern comfort and it was all delicious. Perfect biscuits with bacon that tasted like it was smoked in the woods that morning. There is a huge selection of creative lattes and flavors that encourage you to come back to try them all. All in all, pick a good time and day, maybe a different location, but you won't be disappointed.

A lot of variety on their menu for a coffee spot. The Bakery items are delicious and their monkey mocha coffee is delicious. Lovely and chill atmosphere except for the few that feel its ok to take a 4 person table to make it their own office space. The service is ok. A hit or miss. My order was incorrect even thought I was loud and clear because of the noise but the food was still good.

Loved this spot! With a group of 16, we only waited 1 hour to be seated for Sunday brunch. Their coffee was delicious - tons of unique flavor options. The food was portioned well, lots of variety, and tasted fresh and delicious. Fair prices. Everyone was satisfied - highly recommend!!

Nice funky little coffee shop/ restaurant/ bar. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food. Loved the coffee, I had the mocha monkey with banana syrup. I was a little skeptical but it was good. Be aware that you stand in line to order and then find an empty table to sit at. The line moves pretty quickly and they keep you updated on food wait times. I was there with a party of 4 during peak Sunday brunch time. The line was to the door and we were at the counter within 15 minutes. After we ordered the were 2 tables leaving so we were able to sit right down with our coffees that arrived immediately. Or did was out in less than 10 minutes even though they said it could be a 25 minute wait once we're got to our table. Very impressed with the service and the coffee. Food was a little bland for my taste, but that is just me, I like salted food. That is fixable.

As newcomers to the City of Music my fiancé and I stopped by the Frothy Monkey, and we are very glad we did. Not only was the food and drinks delicious (I highly recommend the hummingbird - it’s a seasonal banana pecan latte and SUPERB) but our waitress let us know about some things to do around the city that made our trip a very memorable experience! All in all, everything about the Frothy Monkey was wonderful.

Awesome environment, friendly baristas, and fantastic coffee. Sweater Weather drip is the bomb dot com. The wonderful staff even brings your items to you instead of the cattle call you find at many coffee shops. Very impressive. Multiple menu items look super tasty and the food smells great!

This place is so cute! I wish it was in Washington! Drinks: I got a hot monkey mocha the coffee and the syrup flavors are amazing! One of the better coffees I've had. Food: My husband and I got the Britt. We always share a meal because we don't want to waste leftovers but the portions here I'd say are small enough where it is good to get your own. Taste wise I really liked it! Staff: The staff were the best part of the experience. Even though this is probably one of the busiest cafes I've ever been to they were all nice and engaging. They took time to make sure everything was correct while being quick. Especially the white hippie guy with brown hair and a full beard. He was sooooo nice! Busy: Only down side was it was so busy. There was a line out the door and down the ramp. It was also raining pretty hard so it meant you couldn't utilize the out door space so space was more limited. I was able to grab a seat within a few min. though. Parking: Parking was fairly good. There are residential streets by it and you just have to park down one of them and there were a decent amount of spots for Sunday morning. Syrups: I bought some of their vanilla syrup at the Nashville Farmers Market and have been using it to make ice cream. It is really nice!

This place is just a must. Delicious coffee, fancy or plain, loose tea selections and yummy food... But the best part is the friendly service! Everyone there is helpful, personable and when the opportunity arises, funny! I even like their swag so I got a t-shirt and an AWESOME hot sauce from Chattanooga that they served with our eggs. Such a feel good spot.

Great coffee shop! There was great service and very unique drinks. I got the iced espresso blueberry basil drink. It is a really good place to stop at if you have a long wait time at one of the surrounding restaurants. They have a good selection of merchandise and coffee products as well.

Very interesting place to grab a drink or later in the day a meal. There are all sorts of snacks and desserts available as well. My daughter had a tea, I had a coffee porter beer and my wife had a hot chocolate with a large cookie type dessert. It was crowded but not miserably so on Sunday evening about dusk.

The best burger I have had in a while! This was one of the best coffee places that you can visit in Nashville. My wife had a delicious egg bacon and avocado toast and was to die for! Coffee takes a while to make since they is always a line. Takes about 15 minutes and there is a sign warming people about the wait, but that’s no biggie

Love this place! As a regular I can say their food, coffee, and service is consistent and top notch. The staff handles the weekend rush with incredible proficiency. Definitely a must on any coffee shop tour of Nashville! My favorites include the Monkey (banana) Mocha, the Julie (insider tip: give it a try as a wrap with bacon and avocado!), the architect (build your own omelette), and whatever they may have on special. For desert and snacks their cookies are excellent, and if they happen to have the seasonal red velvet muffins do yourself a favor and get two.

Cool vibes and good tunes in a quaint neighborhood, Frothy Monkey has it all. You can sit in and order coffee and breakfast or take your coffee to go. We did the latter. There wasn’t too long of a line on a Monday morning but when I drove by Sunday, the line was out the door to the sidewalk. The coffee itself was good. My partner enjoyed her cold brew, while I thought the blend was good until I added Splenda- that was my bad. The Smiths were playing when we walked in so that’s definitely a plus. We paid about $10 for two cold brews before tip- not too shabby.

Didn’t try the restaurant but the coffee was okay. Not great, but not terrible. The staff seemed unfriendly and were kind of just standing around, scowling. There’s a giant rainbow flag right when you walk in the door, so, um, there’s that… I guess? It’s also in a really cool neighborhood, but there are probably 4 or 5 coffee shops all on the same street, within 1 or 2 blocks of each other, so I’ll probably try somewhere else next time I’m in the area.

I cam in mildly wet from a brief motorcycle ride in the rain and wanted something to warm me up. I grabbed a soy Chai latte made with their firepot chai and a shot of espresso on the side. The chai latte is absolutely delicious. I would say it's my favorite chai around - even having had another local coffee chain named after a hand drum - and would highly recommend it. Their staff was very accommodating to my allergies, I let them know and they put the fear of God and hospital bills into the barista, so I got a freshly cleaned milk frother. Moreover, there was a dog sitting next to me. Naturally, the dog is the focal point of the picture. Overall, a very nice and friendly establishment with a large swath of coffee, tea, beer, souvenirs and even cigars. They had a small selection of cigars to match your choice of coffee drink. A classy establishment that has a great reputation. My favorite of Nashville

The flavors were good and portions decent, but the cook must be a smoker because it was absolutely loaded with salt. I could see the coarse granules on top of my omelette. I had to take the top off the omelette because I couldn't eat it. My girlfriend's potatoes were equally salty so it wasn't just my food. Coffee is amazing though.

Visiting from Seattle so we might be coffee snobs. This was hands down the best vanilla latte I’ve ever had. Anywhere. It was such a simple, yet delicious drink. The baristas are fantastic. Breakfast was also delicious and I specifically remember how yummy the bacon was. Super family-friendly and charming atmosphere. Servers were very friendly and attentive. Definitely a must if you’re visiting Nashville!

The food was good and most of the servers were great. One woman brought our food though and although no fault of her own, my eggs were way over cooked. We asked her to bring new eggs, explaining they were over cooked, and twenty minutes later she brought new, still overcooked eggs which she also charged as an extra side of eggs on our bill. Our actual server was super helpful and got it fixed tho but it was a whole adventure. Also grateful for the guy who brought me properly cooked eggs about ten minutes into my wait for the aforementioned eggs lol

Cute, hip little place. Coffee is apparently good, but a long wait for it while sitting at our table. We received our food before the coffee drink. The Huevos Rolandos are excellent. Coffee is popular here, so if your dining in, do not expect to get the coffee for a while. You may want to order beer instead. I think everyone should try it once, but to be honest, I will probably check out other places before I would return here.

Had one unpleasant experience with a waitress today (red hair, green purse) who brought us our coffee but was short with us and ignored us when we tried to get her attention to order food (so much so that another waitress came to take our order) and then again when we tried to request our bill. (so much so that a third waitress came and helped us). We were making eye contact with her and she was only standing ~ four feet away for most of the time that we were there. It was quite uncomfortable :/

Frothy is the place for $17 bags of coffee (really? 17??) and it's pretty good, I'll admit (though not $17 a bag good). But this location is strictly for those seeking the 12South bougie almost-but-not-quite-hipster-parent vibe, at least the latter part of the work day. The servers on the other hand, often seem actually hip, or local kids probably hoping to flee asap, and wearily avoided eye contact at the end of the day when I entered to check bean prices. Poor souls. Trapped, for now, as many of us are, shuffling up to The Monkey and its siren song.

Great way to spend Sunday morning, eating great food in a fun and cheerful little coffee shop/restaurant. Outdoor seating is inviting for folks with strollers, kiddos, and well behaved pups. Inside is not crowded at all and offers plenty of social distancing. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The food was so good! We had a variety from corned beef hash to vegetarian quinoa and tofu. Even a sandwich at 9am! After so many months having take-out, it was such a wonderful treat to enjoy a meal inside the restaurant!

Perfect coffee shop with breakfast options. We actually ate at two of their locations while in Nashville for New Years - the one downtown and the other about 4 miles south of downtown. Upon arrival at the one farther south, on New Years morning, there was a line to the door so I figured we'd be there waiting for a while. They efficiently moved the line (very unusual for a coffee shop), took our order and delivered to our table very quickly. We were pleasantly impressed. Absolutely recommended!!

It's always busy, which is a great sign for the quality of the fare, but tough if you're in a hurry. They do a great job of serving their customers, but you won't be in and out super fast. Which is okay. Just sit a spell and relax.

Even though we're in a pandemic the dining experience was wonderful. You may have to wait to get served a little longer, but they are very conscientious about health concerns and yet still providing good service. The food of course is wonderful and they are well known for it, they also do take out so consider that an option as well. The area they are in on 12 South Is really beautiful and if you just walk a block you can go to the park and take your food there and set up a picnic.

I really liked the coffee and food I had here and the service was very fast. I came on a Saturday at 8:30 and there was really no line, however as it got later the line grew and went out the door. I had a parfait and the turtle latte and was content with the pricing and the quality of food. I did mark it down a star, however, because the cafe inside did not look like it had been cleaned in quite a while. I have included pictures of the windowsills and floors for reference, but overall it was a good experience and I will likely be going back again

Today was my first day ever coming here and I enjoyed everything about it! From the beginning to the end, I enjoyed the experience. Walking into the door, even though they were busy, they made sure to be efficient, kind and personable. I did have a small wait, but the staff was very attentive and more than made up for it. On top of all of that, the food was delicious; it reminded me of home, and made my stomach happy. Great job to the team here! If you’re looking for a good spot this is it for sure. Interesting place. Good coffee but we and many others waited ten minutes just for their coffee-only orders. Seemed strange for 11 on a Tuesday morning. The place was hopping and clearly a local favorite. We didn’t order food so I’m not sure how that is. I gave it four stars because we both really liked our cappuccino and turtle latte. Also, the service was not only friendly but she really took the time to explain the differences in the coffees we were considering.

This is to notify the company of a training opportunity. We were walking to the restaurant to see if they took reservations, they stated that they don't. I asked what the wait was, they said 45 minutes. We were about 20 minutes away still so I asked if we could go ahead and put our names on the list. The gentleman I spoke with said yes I will tell our hostess and get your name on the list. We got there 25 minutes later. I walked up to the hostess to confirm our names on the list, the hostess stated that they don't do call ahead, only walk up. I stated that I spoke with someone who told me my name would be on the list. She said point blank "we don't do that." No concern for an employee informing me otherwise. I said, we should have been called back or informed if that was the case. She just stared at me. We didn't get to eat the food so I won't give a horrible review. However, please train your staff to be on the same page and more respectful.

This is a trendy bistro-style restaurant,with an minimal,but eclectic menu. The coffees are available in unusual flavors such as lavender,so it's worth sampling a new concoction each visit. The food tastes fresh,and is served in generous portions. I'm particularly fond of the sesame bagels,toasted and served with butter and some amazing strawberry preserves. There are both breakfast and lunch options,including sandwiches. The main downsides are the limited seating and the wait time,which depends on when you arrive. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

They have delicious drinks that have a quick turn around time and their food is just the right amount, not too much, not too little. We asked someone in the shop next door where we should go to get a sandwich. She told us the best sandwich in Nashville is right next door at the Frothy Monkey. This advice turned out to be questionable. The sandwiches we ordered (the Brisket Sandwich and the Royale) were good, but nothing approaching mindblowing. I felt disappointed with the bread, considering they bake it themselves. My expectations were higher. And the sandwiches were served with corn chips and salsa. With a brisket sandwich?

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. I would recommend the shrimp and grits. You get about 8 perfectly grilled jumbo shrimp and the cheesy grits are yummy. I might recommend you ask for the chopped ham mash on the side. It was very salty for me and I would have enjoyed less of it on the grits. We also got the custard pie with berries on top and that was delicious.

Frothy Monkey is like a cozier, more inviting version of Fido (another cafe and restaurant on 21st Ave). It's a little bit on the pricier side, as are all the cafes, but the food is excellent and the drinks are great too. I recommend the Gail salad if you're looking for something light but filling at the same time. And if you're not a coffee drinker like me, go for the Mexican hot chocolate, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy the warm, inviting atmosphere with friendly wait staff. Good for groups smaller than about 6 people.

After reading some promising reviews of 'Frothy', my wife and I decided to try it for brunch. This place did not disappoint in the slightest. Some of the best biscuits 'n' gravy I've ever had, and I'd also say the same for the corned beef and potatoes dish. Most places can over-cook and "dry-out" corned beef, but my wife had it two days in a row, and it was cooked perfectly both occasions. The lattes were on point (my wife had hers with oat milk), as were my Americanos (straight), and the bakery goods were also extremely good (try the house-made Pop Tart!) The service was consistently friendly from the hostess to our server, Rey, who was kind, helpful and awesome, and didn't seem bothered by my wife's many item alterations due to being GF/DF. If I lived in 12 South (and I've contemplated having a retirement home in Nashville someday), I'd frequent this spot a few days a week, alternating each visit for a different meal, 'cause this place is just that damn good. Although I'd be sure to walk up and put my name down every time (they don't take call-in reservations), 'cause this joint can get poppin', y'all. Especially around brunch. And it don't matter the day of the week.

Staff was friendly, although I had to ask where I could go to wait for takeout pickup. There was a 45 minute wait for table service, but take out was super quick (faster than when I last went in late 2019/early 2020). Coffee was really good. I had a Monkey Mocha Latte and a Doppio. My friend had a Honey Lavender latte, a Doppio, and a bagel. He really liked everything including the bagel. One note: our cashier didn't know what a Doppio is, but the barista pulling shots did.

Super popular coffee and breakfast spot in Nashville's 12 south neighborhood. Was drawn here by the stellar reviews and the place did not disappoint. Its a stand alone establishment set in a house like structure with a front yard that has picnic table style seating, tables and chairs on the front porch, more table and chairs inside and a few bar stools. There was a winding staircase leading up to a loft like space but I couldn't tell if there was more seats up there. The place had a line out the door at 12:30pm on a saturday so I guess that's a good gauge of its popularity. Was here just for coffee so did not bother with the food menu. They had the regular coffee and tea selections along with a page dedicated to their specialty coffees and another page featuring seasonal specials. Altogether there were about 10 specialty coffee drinks listed, each of which looked better than the next. After much deliberation we decided on the firebender - espresso, steamed milk, dark chocolate, orange and chili and the hummingbird espresso, steamed milk, house made banana syrup, pecan and cinnamon. Considering the crowd, we waiting for about 12-15 minutes before we could order but the coffee was ready pretty quickly. Both the drinks were phenomenal. Could actually taste hints of all the listed ingredients and it was a far cry from the sugary syrupy abomination you'd get at large corporate coffee chains. Staff were friendly and the whole vibe of the place quite charming. Will definitely stop by again when visiting Nashville.

Came here to have a delicious cup of coffee and boy did they deliver! My husband had the Monkey Mocha and I had the Turtle Cappuccino. Both were specialty drinks and both were beautiful and tasty. Just what we needed on a cold December morning. The atmosphere was kind of dark but very hip and urban. There are lots of neat t-shirts and gifts you can get for other coffee enthusiasts. We enjoyed sitting quite by a window and watching the cars drive by.

Enjoyed on the second floor with great view of the street. They had an event going on later that night (5 course meal with wine pairings). Might be something to look into if you're interested (not sure how often they do those type of things). Will be back when we're in Nashville.

The caffeinated drinks here are so unique and delicious. I wanted to order multiple drinks at once because they sounded so good! I had the blueberry chilled espresso and matcha lemonade and I would drive back to Nashville just to have it again! Wish I had time to stay for breakfast, the venue was very cozy and had an outdoor area to eat at as well. This is a decent breakfast spot. I didn't try the coffee, so this review is 100% about the breakfast. I got the "Bob" dish, which is $8.50 and not $8 like the online menu says. It was a bit expensive, and I didn't feel like the portion was all that big. It was also a bit of a wait. I also asked for my eggs to be "over hard" and they were totally over easy, which was disappointing. The food tasted great though, and it's a cool little spot. I can recommend it if you're looking for a nice breakfast place to eat.

Lovely hip little spot in 12 south neighbourhood to grab a quick bite and coffee. The customer service is top notch. They go our of their way to ensure you are well taken care of. Had the matcha raspberry sparkling soda which was so refreshing in this Nashville heat! This spot is a favourite for students, locals and tourists alike! I'm Wednesday in the summer between 5 and 7 they have wine down Wednesdays (3 glasses of wine and snacks for $15).

So out of the three coffee shops in Nashville I've visited, the Frothy Monkey has that ambiance and vibe that you want from a vibrant city. Longer lines at times, but ample seating once you get your flag. Staff is friendly, and the espresso used in all the drinks is one of the best in town.

This a very nice joint for coffee and snacks, as you would expect. But, it has a very nice menu for all meals and appetites. We were there for a late breakfast. The food was hot and tasty. Their regular coffee is very solid, though stronger than any other retail coffee shop. Their mixed drinks... I’ve yet to have an Americano or regular mocha come out consistently as the quality tends to vary pretty sizably depending on barista (hence the 4 stars). Granted, I’ve never had a bad drink here, but occasionally just average — and certainly not with the price or wait. But when prepared by a stellar barista... definitely worth it. FYI: the practice of making iced americanos by pouring hot espresso over cold ice should be illegal. It’s poor common sense as you’re left with a bunch of sad looking half-melted ice cubes and a cool (not cold) drink. instead... fill the cup with some water, THEN add espresso... let the water initially cool the hot espresso shots before adding ice LAST.

My wife wanted to stop to get a coffee here as we visited the area. The place itself was quaint. Looks like it used to be an old home that was repurposed. The coffee was good and had a unique flavor. It was full of people so it was obviously a good local hang out spot for a quick pick me up or snack. The staff was sort of friendly. The issue for me was that it felt extremely warm in the building. I'm not sure if they were having AC problems or if that was the norm. Also, the wifi was super slow. Either way, we didn't stay long.

Always a reliable place to relax and enjoy good food and drink. Enjoyed iced tea (free refills) and a savory scone while I read my book. The counter service was quick, friendly, and attentive. The music isn't too loud, and there are plenty of spaces to hang. The only warning: it is often packed with people hanging out for a long time. Sitting a group of more than 2 can be tricky, especially if the weather isn't great. But, if you can find a spot, you'll enjoy it.

First time here, I just came for a bit of tea while meeting someone. I really liked the style and decor both inside and out the place, it was very unique and called out to me. One thing to note real quick is that there is a decent bit of parking, even across down the street if you cant find any closer. As far as sitting space, it was pretty busy but they have a lot of tables and some booths, and a handful of tables outside as well. So I had an iced green tea, that also had other ingredients in it, including lime and honey and a couple other things. It was really tasty, although the citrus flavor dominated the drink a bit (which I don't particularly mind). You could definitely taste the flavor of the green tea in it though, and that made it worth it. I look forward to coming back sometime and trying the food.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Nashville, and that says a lot! In a city with over 40 locally owned coffee shops, Frothy Monkey stands out for their unique atmosphere and stellar coffee. A lot of local shops seem to have a pretentious attitude towards their customers. However, at Frothy Monkey, all of the employees and owners (there are 5 wonderful partners) have a great attitude and genuinely enjoy getting to know the customers and hearing about their day. I'd recommend the White Monkey Mocha and a plain jain on an everything bagel - and be sure to add the local Benton's Bacon!

How we got to Frothy Monkey: We had originally intended to go to Love Biscuit, but it was sooo packed; then we detoured to Puckett, but the wait was an hour and a half; then someone suggested wild eggs; while trying to walk by, we happened to see Frothy Monkey. On a whim (but more out of laziness), we decided to give it a try. The food: it totally beat expectations and was great! We all got the turtle latte, which was tasty - there is a strong caramel flavor and they put a design on the coffee (always a plus). The architect omelettes (essentially make your own) was made very well. They offer wheat or rye toast on the side. The biscuits and gravy were big hits in our group - we put two eggs on top of the biscuits. The bagel sandwiches were just the right size; hard to mess it up :)

When you consider comfort, customer service, and coffee I believe Frothy is the best all-around coffee shop in Nashville. The environment is welcoming for all purposes. Specifically, a place that facilities working remotely is growing increasingly rare in Nashville. Work or play, Frothy is the best all-around hang. They even have beer and wine!

BEWARE - the coffee comes too hot to handle! Even through the cardboard grip it was scalding. Once it cooled down it was quite good. I went in thinking it was just a coffee shop, but they have a full restaurant menu. I'll go back to try that out.

This is my favorite coffee house in Nashville. Grab a cup of coffee and explore the 12 South Neighborhood. If you have never been, the food menus are on the wall next to the front door and drink menues are next to the register. The frothy monkey is always crowded, but the cappuccino is well worth the wait.

This prime coffee café has blazing fast internet. It comes with more then what's needed for bandwith, even at its most busy spells. There is plenty of indoor and patio seating. I highly suggest the golden monkey it is exactly what you need from whatever Joe you want to kick off your day.
