After living here for a year, we finally made it to Fat Mo's. She had the burger, I had the fried chicken sandwich and we split some spicy fries. First the burger: it was a solid burger, normal flavor, but the toppings were awesome - super fresh and that makes a big difference. The chicken sandwich: juicy and delicious - highly recommended (and with the same fresh toppings)! The fries: great flavor, more savory then spicy (which is how we like them) - though a bit saltier than we like. So definitely worth trying for the fried chicken sandwich, at a minimum. And hopefully, they'll up their game on their burger mix to help it stand out as a "destination burger" (I just made up that term) and they'll take it a little easier with the salt on the spicy fries. We'll definitely be back.

This place and the people running it are absolutely fantastic. The food is even better. Everything we got was delicious. I would give it 10 stars if I could. We only spent so much per person because we wanted to try so many different things and share them. We will be hitting this place up a lot more often!

Great homemade 1/4 lb. hamburger or 1/2 lb. burger that can be either two 1/4 lb patties or a 1/2 lb. single patty burger. They even have a larger burger than that! We love their corn dogs as well. I never tried their fried mushrooms, chicken wings, milkshake or banana split. Great ownership and well staffed with helpful employees. Drive thru or walk up orders only, no dining room at this location.

TLDR- Goooood homestyle burgers; regular fries are better than the spicy ones; parking is scarce; friendly but slow service; avoid the sweet tea; the 27oz Super Deluxe will feed 4 adults. *** I had a Dr.'s appointment in the area so I treated myself to a Little Mo Combo. I'm a Nashville native who's stuck in a small town near the KY border, and one of the many things I miss about Nashville is Fat Mo's! These burgers actually have personality-they taste just like the burgers you'd get at a family cookout-fresh, juicy and just plain gooood! I absolutely LOVE their regular fries-crispy, and delicious with their dusting of craveable seasoned salt! (Eat them fast, though-they're served piping hot, and the steam makes them lose their crispness after sitting in the box for more than a few minutes!) The "spicy" fries are thick and kind of like Arby's curly fries without the curl...I prefer the "regular" fries. The order taker was courteous and friendly, and because everything is cooked to order, there is a bit of a wait. Don't expect to get in and out within 5 minutes-this isn't fast food. There is a little park bench behind the restaurant for outdoor dining-it was occupied when I visited, and it frankly wasn't very appealing. The parking is limited-the few parking spots available are in busy areas (bustling car wash next door) and if you are looking for a quiet spot to enjoy your lunch, you won't find it here. (I drove to 100 Oaks to eat there). The two things that kept me from giving this place 5 stars-the lack of parking and the sweet tea. The sweet tea is awful (sorry guys!) it has some weird chemical aftertaste, so I'd order something else to drink. I don't like carbonated stuff so that limits my choices dramatically. I really enjoyed having a bite of nostalgia :) *Fun fact-I once ordered the largest burger they offer (Super Deluxe)...and we split it into 4 servings. It was big enough to feed 4 adults! Man vs Food needs to pay Fat Mo's a visit!

The best burger I've had!! The meat was cooked perfectly and all the extras that were added (mushrooms, onions, pickles, jalapenos, tomato) made it that much better. They even lettuce wrapped it instead of putting on the bun which is hard to find. To top it off, they have the option of regular fries or spicy fries. I highly recommend trying the spicy fries. This place is awesome and we will definitely be going back!

This little burger joint doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is definitely worth checking out. This location only does food to go, but all food is made to order and is delicious. You'll be brought back in time when someone comes to your car to take your order, but you can expect polite service and a great meal when you leave.

Fat Mo's is the epitome of a hole in the wall! Every huge city needs one!! Good for lunch, dinner or late night grubs! Food is cooked fresh as you wait on either side of the diner in your vehicle! As well, its made to your liking. 2 type of fries original(similar to MCD's) and cajun let you fix your fancy! It is probably not your first pick for a restaurant but after a long night of fun in Nashville it will quickly become your number one draft pick!!

I really liked their hamburger and would give it five stars! I will be back for another. My wife had a grilled chicken with bacon and the bacon was leathery--she could not bite through it. The chicken was beaten into thin patties which made it dry when cooked, but surprisingly she said the rest of the toppings made it very good. If it was not for that "bacon," I'd give it five stars. But like other reviews say, the outside of the building is dismal. There were three cars in line on each side of the little restaurant and one of the workers came out to take orders.

This is a very great place. Burger s jucy hot and fresh, good fries, asked for crisp ones and they asked if I wanted refried or fresh ones. They told me the fries just came out only a few moments ago. I went for refried and they were awesome. Girl said if I did not like they would change. But like I said they were awesome. Thanks. Too bad I live in Michigan and only can make it once in a while.

I frequent this location and the Gallatin Rd spot. These are my favorite ones. The food is always good and fresh because they cook everything to order, which creates a longer wait time. If you're in a rush...do not come here. They serve quality here and that takes time.

I had a veggie burger here and it was great! I also had some fried mushrooms and fries. The mushrooms were as expected from a fast place, the fried were a bit cold and not crispy. But overall good quick food for a really cheap price!

It's that classic greasy drive-thru meal. I ordered the Fat Mo Deluxe and fries. You can customize your burger any way you want it. It’s a ½ lb burger that includes a few proprietary spices. It’s a surprising inclusion coming from a drive thru burger spot but I enjoyed the peppery patty. The fries won’t win any awards, except for nostalgia. Skip the big guys and get your grease here for a change.

The ABSOLUTE best burger in town. Day in and day out, these guys make sweet sweet meat for you and me to enjoy. Big or small, these burgers are hot and tasty. Make it a lettuce wrap and this bad boy is KEOT FRIENDLY. 31 years I’ve been eating here and all other burger joints are competing for second. Don’t miss this gem.

The milkshakes are incredible. And huge! If you want an enormous 32oz shake this is the place to go. Their fries are similarly tasty and the oversized burger was good. The patties weren't juicy the way I like it, but by no means dry. Just my preference. A definite must try.

Hands down, one of the best burger places we've been to! We were looking for a place that was similar to In N Out and this place exceeded our expectations. They have very large portions and the burgers are so fresh. There is an option to choose between regular fries or spicy fries which made it that much better since I LOVE spicy food. I have had 2 experiences at Fat Mo's each one a great taste revelation. On my first visit I tried the double cheeseburger combo. Every item made to order,which made them hot and tasty. My next visit was the Catfish sandwich combo. What a marvelous taste. The fish had body and taste,coupled with the roll,lettuce,pickles and tomato was right on target. I highly recommend Mo's. By the way the shakes are great too.

Looking at this place it may not look like much but it doesn't have to because if your a local you know about a Fat Mo!!! I'm not just anybody, I know my food and have traveled all over this great nation and beyond our borders but hands down this is the best hamburger anywhere. They use fresh beef and you better be hungry because a Fat Mo Deluxe is I believe 27oz. of meat plus toppings which include bacon, mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapenos, and some other stuff but get it the way it comes cause it works. If you're reading this and you have a Mo for the first time, leave me a comment and let me know if you know of a better hamburger?? I'm waiting!!!! Lol

It's not the worst burger I've ever had but it wasn't the best either. After hearing Nashvillians rave about the place for 3 years I decided to give it a try and the burger was extremely dry, the tomato was almost nonexistent and they really shouldn't use hotdog onions on a burger, but the fried mushrooms were good.

Fantastic Big Mo cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake. The burger was a real 1/2 lb, fried to perfection and not greasy . . . . Mo's special sauce is delicious too! Fries were perfectly deep fried with a little crisp to them!! A Nashville must stop for real, old fashioned, fast food made by hand from scratch! Should be put on the National Registry of Historic places like Mickey's Diner is in downtown, St. Paul, MN!

This place offers a different take on burgers. They are very good but just not what you would expect. I had the Mo's deluxe double burger. What sold me was the burgers being soaked in an "iranian juice". This stuck out to me and I had to have it. I have to say they were quite amazing. I would definitely go back.

I've been a Fat Moes fan since the late 90s. We had one close to our neighborhood that closed down so now I drive out of the way to this 8th ave location and its worth it! Arguably one of the best burgers in town. Plus many other deep fried goodies and shakes on the menu.

Ordered Fat Mo's deluxe burger and it was delicious and massive. 2 meals in 1. The fries were awesome and the butter pecan milkshake was pretty good too. The only issue was the drive thru, super confusing. But I will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

Awesome burgers and great fries. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall, but looks are deceiving. It is drive through only. The building looks very run-down. But, the food is amazing! Great prices. Just good old-fashioned greasy burgers! Fries are similar to McDonald's in shape and size, but they have a liberal sprinkling of seasoned salt. Worth the effort!

Been eating cheeseburgers all my life- Fat Mo's is #1 in Nashville so far for me, & I've tried a bunch in this town. I'm talking about a straight up cheeseburger on a sesame seed bun. Freshest tasting hand made beef ever. You'd think they just butchered the cow this morning. I tried Little Mo 1/4 pounder & beer battered onion rings. Rings are lightly battered, crunchy, & cooked to perfection, not dripping in grease. This place will be dangerous for me. Going back to try catfish, philly cheese steak, roast beef, etc.,etc., etc., think I'll try everything on the menu! Honestly that good.

Pros: Great Cheese Burgers and Service!! Top 5 place to get a REAL burger in Nashville. Cons: Location and Size of the place is small which makes it hard to get in and out of. Especially, if the traffic is congested, which being in Nashville it usually is. Overall, this is a great place to grab a bite to eat if you have the time to spare. I would suggest calling in and placing your order prior to leaving. My average wait time during lunch, (Monday - Friday), is about 15 minutes. If you call in advance it's usually about 5-10 minutes.

Mo’s is the quintessential greasy burger joint.. I generally eat clean and healthy so I personally really enjoyed the massive double cheeseburger, fries and soda I got here.. And as an added plus, they let us shoot a music video in their parking lot that’s already got over 1 million views on YouTube.. So thanks Mo’s!! We’ll definitely be coming back again soon..

These burgers are GIGANTIC. Their deluxe burger was almost too much for me to handle. The meat was well seasoned, the fries (both varieties) were crispy and fresh, and the service was fast and friendly. They have a cute (albeit a little worn down) picnic area to eat at behind the shack. You might not think much of the place at first glance, but really, give it a chance. You'll be glad you did. Nothing like devouring a monstrous pound of meat on a cloudy summer day in the fresh air, with an ice cold Pepsi to wash it down with.

Was in from out of town for events at the fairgrounds and saw this place was open on the way back to the hotel. Top notch place!! Burgers were well flavored and the fries had the perfect seasoning on them. You won't be disappointed.

If you're dieting don't go to Mo's lol but the food is great if you are looking for a great burger fixed right now the way you like it. Nothing is small here. Their burgers are a great size probably 1/3 lb easy but if u get the super it will take 2 people or a big eater b/c it's 27oz of lean red meat with all the fixing. Its take out only, no seating, but worth the drive and a lil wait at 5pm. Great place for good quick burger, old fashion corn dogs, onion rings etc yep no dieters welcome there so it may be a once in a while trip :)

Great Burgers! Lots of other great Sammie's to choose from.....milkshakes are okay. This location (8th Ave) is a drive thru only, however, there are picnic tables outside. Not recommended to use during hot months....very little relief from heat. Can order ahead and pick up. Lines move quickly for drive through customers as well as walk up window customers. I am rarely able to finish a "Fat Mo" burger...so I usually stick with the "Lil' Mo" and spicy fries! I'm warning you, Fat Mo's can be addicting!

Fat moes is without question the best fast food option in Nashville. I attend this Moe's on the regular, its always a plesant experience. All the food is fresh and made with lots of love. All of the staff is very kind and helpful. They do to-go orders too for quick pick ups. The prices here are better than anywhere else and they do not compromise the quality when making it affordable. I will gladly support this awesome family business over any of the gross corporate fast food franchises in Nashville.

On 10/23/2013 We ate at the restaurant on Lebanon Pike. Our credit card now shows two charges for $24.95 on that date and we ate only once. The credit card is not swiped at the place of purchase, it is taken out of your view and swiped. Filed with BBB in Nashville and they have contacted the company twice with no response as of 12/20/2013. I would suggest paying in cash only. Food was excellent but not worth $50.00

Great little "hole in the wall" place to eat. Only have a drive through and walk up orders, all outside. There are some outside tables to eat at as well. I probably would have driven right past it but a friend had recommended it. I ordered a fatmo burger combo. It came in a styrofoam container with a bunch of fries and a big Pepsi too. The Fatmo is a double burger full of juicy goodness with all the fixin's. The gentleman who took my order was also walking out to cars in line at the drive through and taking orders to keep the line moving quickly. The line sometimes looks long but it moves fast.
