Locals may know this, but this visitor did not. Ed's Fish & Pizza House does not sell pizza 😂. It's all good because I went for the fish! I love some fried fish. Everyone has their preference, so give it a try for yourself. I was not a fan of the batter. I did enjoy the fries, the option of spaghetti as a side, and the strawberry lemonade. The gentleman who took our order in the line was the highlight. Very personable and funny.

Ed's is a super old school place, has been here before Nashville was a thing. Super personable staff, family run. It just feels good being here even before you get to eat. The whiting was fresh, clean fry oil, bread soft. Spot on. 10/10 will be back.

There best single thing I ate in Nashville. You can tell Ed's is an establishment when you roll up at lunchtime by the line of cars. The signage tells you they've been specializing in the whiting fish sandwich since the 1970s and you owe it to yourself to find out why. The whiting fish sandwich is probably there best sandwich I've ever gotten from a drive thru, and it might be there best fried fish sandwich I've ever had. Between two white bread slices are a generous and perfectly fried four fillets slathered with spicy mustard, onions, and ketchup. It is big and has to be held together with a toothpick. It is also super simple and sometimes simplicity wins over all . You should not leave Nashville without eating at Ed's!

Ed's is my favorite Soul Fish (fried) house. The grease is usually fresh. The portions (fish) is generous as it usually hangs off the bread. Once they served me a long but thinly sliced fish. They got an attitude when I returned it. If I pay $9.00 for a sandwich, I expect to get full or close. I don't like sarcasm from the new owners or workers.

My most recent visit to Ed’s Fish was The Celebration Of Their 50th Anniversary! Fish sandwiches were $5 each, the hours of operation were extended, only the drive thru was open. Prior to arriving here, on this day, I was very much aware the establishment would be insanely occupied and swamped with people. I patiently waited in line for over 2 hours! I ordered 4 fish sandwiches. The 2 for me were catfish and whitening fish sandwiches W/mustard, hot sauce, onions, pickles, & extra cheese. All the sandwiches were made correctly, fresh, and fully cooked… It was wonderfully delicious! Along with their strawberry and mango tea! I enjoyed every bite of both of my fish sandwiches… Back to back, nonstop… With water of course. It was definitely worth the wait…

The food temp and taste have definitely declined as the staff has changed hands focusing more on the younger generation taking the reigns. The food is not cooked to order and they seem to care more about keeping the line flowing verses providing the service that the long time loyal customers are custom to receiving. The gentleman that has put his blood, sweat, dedication and pride in great customer service is not being given his due diligence by the careless lack of professional service that is currently lacking.

The whiting fish sandwich is amazing. It's got onions, a few pickles, and a little hot sauce for kick. The whiting fish extends past the white bread. It's 8 dollars for a regular and 11 dollars for an extra piece of fish on the sandwich, at the time of this review. I haven't tried the catfish and the sides are ok but the whiting fish is why I make the drive. Now if they could branch out towards Mt. Juliet... Hey, a man can dream lol.

Got my usual fish sandwich. Never ever ever disappoints. A little more costly than I remember, but it is the Lamborghini of fish sandwiches. If you have to consider the cost, you've never owned and tasted it. You could take the sandwich anywhere, sit down around people familiar with Ed's, auction it off, and the untouched sandwich would appreciate in value. Cash only is a challenge, but knowing the price on the menu is the cost makes the math rather simple.

The hospitality I received was bar none! Big Anthony was absolutely a sweet heart and I could tell that he loved making people smile and he certainly made me feel welcomed. This was easily the best fish sandwich I've ever had and the Mango sweet tea was good as well! The line to the window was extremely long but worth the wait. I drove all the way from Lebanon with my mom and my daughters just to eat at Ed's, And if my pocket allows me, I'll be making that drive every Saturday!

Found this place on the way to Louisville and it was great. My wife, daughter and I stopped in for lunch and the catfish sandwich was awesome. We sat at the front counter and chatted with the owner as we ate. Because we were from Memphis he gave us free bottled tea because he said tge lady that makes it is from Memphis. I don't drink tea but did this one time and it was very good. My wife said the catfish was the best she's ever eaten. It was very good. Next time through Nashville we'll be sure to stop again.

I will never forget this place not only because they slap two giant pieces of yummy fresh catfish on your sandwich for 8 bucks... But they are actually good people. My car was broke down on the side of the street and the owner and grandson who knew nothing about me carried me and my one year old baby home safely without even asking anything about me. I visited this place back in December & when I tell you it was delicious!!! OMG!! I'm a Florida native & I have yet to find a place like this, that gives you hot & freshly cooked fish to where I have to let it cool down just a little before I can go in like I want too (if you know what I mean lol)!! We stopped by Bolton's Spicy Chicken and Fish first and were told that they were out of spice. So, we decided to go somewhere else and found this little gem perfectly crispy, juicy, plump fish covered in mustard and hot sauce with onions and jalapeños, delicious! If you have a chance to check this place out and you don't, slap yourself for your stupidity. Be sure to try the chess pie. It's light, fluffy, perfectly sweet and makes and amazing finish (or appetizer) to your meal.

Nashville classic for fish plates and sandwiches. I ordered the catfish sandwich without onions (it comes with onions, mustard, hot sauce and pickles), and I added cheese. Huge pieces of freshly cooked fish with the slightly soggy white bread!....you can't beat it with a stick! And the price isn't too bad, $7 per sandwich.
