Meh - I love historic food joints with a vibe. The place is cool, don’t get me wrong. The burger? It was average at best. I definitely would not go out of my way for it and would not wait longer than the normal cook time for it. They break rule #1 of a juicy burger by using a burger press on a flat top. Either smash the burger or just let it cook. Using the press results in a dry patty. Given the odd lighting I couldn’t see the color of my burger inside but my assumption is that it was well done even though the menu states all are cooked to medium. The animal fries were pretty good. I can’t speak for anything else on the menu. Maybe I would go back to try the hot chicken. The bathroom is also pretty dirty.

This is a fun local dive with a ton of atmosphere; it feels like the set of a Tarantino movie. I got the hot chicken sandwich (medium), the deluxe burger, and loaded fries — yes, all for me. None of it was great though. All fine. Just missing some flavor. Still a fun spot to check out, and they’re open late.

Dino’s burger and cheese fries were SO good. James (cook) nailed it! We came in around 12am after a concert and the place was poppin’. The service was awesome. James and Hannah were super friendly. We had a great time sitting at the bar chatting with both them while they slung drinks and burgers. The decorations went with the whole vibe and made the experience even better. I will definitely be back! Thanks for an awesome time Dino’s.

Had to check this place out side to it’s good reviews. Had a grungy/cool retro vibe. It’s old and even the chairs are covered with black tape for repairs. The indoor seating is small but more space outdoors. The menu is limited but there is a vegetarian option available. Tried the cheese burger, animal fries and Frito pie, the burger was great and the others were basic. The wait for food is a while, so make sure you have enough time allocated for this experience. We waited for over a half hour

Great dive bar type place. We ran into knowing this and were not disappointed. The food was great. The selection included the expected staples and also a few random but good items. People were lined up to try everything. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor. The staff was great. Would definitely recommend for people looking for hole in the wall food.

Great atmosphere at one of the oldest dives in Nashville. And there is a reason this place has been voted one of the best hamburgers in the country. If you come to Nashville and want to a unique experience with great bar food, do not skip this place.

Honestly, I was a little put off by some of the photos of this place, but I’m so glad I gave it a shot. The burgers were incredible. Felt like a good backyard grill style burger that dreams are made of. Also, the outdoor patio was so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.

This oldest dive bar in east Nashville has somehow managed to remain the cool uncle around all the honky-tonks that are tourist traps. In spite the massive inflation the country has seen this year (2022); they have also remained affordable. Basically you get a gastro-pub burger served in a dive bar at a fast-food joint price! The decor reflects someone’s obsession with Christmas lights while every corner is bathed in neon lights. But the patio is a hidden gem and looks nothing like what you imagine this place to be from the outside. Parking spaces are very very limited, and you’ll have to find street parking during busy hours like we did. You place the order yourself, so be ready to stand in the line if it’s crowded. But I can tell you, it’s worthy of closing your night at and Jo’s hot chicken sandwich is better than some of the “long-lines chains”.

A great bar that doesn't try to be something it is not. One of the last ones in Nashville that doesn't masquerade itself as a local spot that is actually a tourist trap. Dino's is the local spot. Somehow they have been able to remain affordable despite the cities massive inflation. The food might make your stomach hurt a little but it tastes good and obliterates the same priced alternatives that are places like Waffle House.

Great laid back vibe, cool lighting, and they even offer a beyond burger on the menu for us vegetarians. It’s pretty straight forward in its food offerings (burger and fries) and John Wick works there. Haha Nah, but I recommend to check it out, enjoy those awesome crispy fries and a good conversation.

Expect a super lively atmosphere with lots of eating and drinking! The outdoor patio offers picnic table style seating that looks awesome but it was too cold to sit there when I was there, unfortunately. LOCATION. Located in East on Gallatin. Parking available in front. QUALITY. The burger itself was AWESOME. SO GOOD! I enjoy so-called gourmet burgers as well, but in my opinion nothing beats an old fashioned dive burger. I had heard this place produced happy customers, and now that I've been I can see why. SERVICE. Service was good. Order burgers/drinks at the bar and pay on the spot. Expect around a 10-15 minute wait if it's crowded. Burgers delivered to table. VALUE. Value was incredible. The food is awesome and the bill was super low. I would expect this from this type of establishment, but I felt the value was that much better considering the burger was so good. TAKEAWAYS. Great food. Lively atmosphere. Awesome prices. About the only downside is it's a bit pricey. But the food is generally good and the atmosphere is great which makes the few extra dollars for burger and fries at around 22. Worth it. Though. If the price dropped, I would probably eat here a lot more often.

We went Friday about 5pm. Breakdown of our experience: 5 Stars for prices. We ordered 6 beers, 3 shots, two cheeseburgers a Frito pie and our tab was less than $50. That's freaking incredible! 5 Stars for music and atmosphere. Solid all the way around. We love dive bars and they nailed it. 2 Stars for the cheeseburgers and Frito pie. Sad to say there was zero flavor and the burgers were more meatballs than burgers. Very disappointing because we were there specifically for the rave reviews of the burgers. Service was exceptional though. Great place to hang and drink but eat elsewhere.

Had to come here after a late night at the honky tonks, I wanted a cheeseburger. After I hear Bourdain approved, it was a must try. . It is located in a quiet neighborhood, this dive bar is small but has a lot of tables. You walk in and go order at the bar counter. Either keep it close or open. If you forget to close they charge 20 percent. Right about the ordering there is a sign that tells you how long the wait could be. . I got the dinos cheese burger with a tall pbr. They have great country music on. The cheese burger was juicy and thick slice of meat. It was good and reminded me of in n out but gourmet. It was worth the 8 bucks they were charging. It was an experience. . Overall if I'm back in town, this is a great late night spot right by where I stayed. If you don't want a over crowded place on a Monday night，I would come here. Classic old style bar with lots of personality. We had the classic cheeseburger and fries and the Porter Road cheeseburger. The fries were excellent. They were hot and crispy. The burgers had a nice flavor and were cooked just as we asked for.

This is a great dive bar/greasy spoon burger joint right on the main corridor of East Nashville. Their cheeseburgers are like delicious cheesy meatballs slapped together with some fresh onion, tomato, and toasted buns. Meanwhile, they have a solid beer selection, and a whole set of beer+shot deals. The inside is pretty small, so be sure to go when there's nice weather and sit in their back patio area. Enjoy!

I have to admit that my memory of the place is a tad foggy but the burger is legit and the vibe is weird and amazing. Awesome spot to end the night and get some food in ya to soak up the excess. Tony Bourdain loved this spot and that’s enough for me.

If you like dive bars, it's definitely a place to visit. My partner and I each had a cheeseburger and shared a large basket of fries with melted Velveeta cheese over them. The burger and fries were great. The wait times for food can be long though. There is only one small grill and one 2 basket fryer. Just after we arrived, about 20 people filed through the door ordering food and alcoholic beverages. The wait times quickly went from 30 to 60+ minutes. They have a sign with estimated wait times starting at 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes with a small slider to indicate how long it may take. It was quickly slid to 60 minutes after the crowd that came in started ordering.

Update: the bar is small and looks like a dive bar from drivers dine-ins and dives, but the food is absolutely delicious! They also stay open late so if you've been out drinking this is an option for a late night burger or chicken sandwich. Due to the fact that everywhere else is closed, the line to wait can be a bit long. I feel sorry for the chef because he had a crazy long line of customers all walk in at 2:30 am. 😭

I love Dino’s, the food is really good and the vibe is fun and unique. BUT definitely don’t come hungry, regardless of what time you come and what you order expect to wait 1-1.5 hours for your food. Still work checking out, you’ll just be much happier if you have a snack before. The staff is very nice and they work hard I think they’re just understaffed and don’t have kitchen space to meet the demand.

Great burger. Dino’s ale was tasty (it’s like a light, citrusy pale ale). The outdoor patio is lovely. It was a longer wait - about 45 minutes - but we didn’t mind. The only negative was that the bathrooms smelled terrible. They need to clean em more.

Also, it really shows how wild it is that Nashville’s “burger week” has places selling their burgers for a discounted $7, which is the price of Dino’s all the time. Every week is burger week at Dino’s.

If you're on Google reviews complaining about wait times in a dive as renowned and important to the local flavor as Dino's, you're either a tourist or New Nashville gentry and either way I would ask you to stop plaguing our city and let rents normalize. The staff at Dino's works their fingers to the bone to provide for an insane volume of customers and if you feel like you're waiting a long time, look around the room at how packed it is and reflect on what a gormless dork you are. Perfect vibe, out of this world food, 5 stars. Love this bar.

WE LOVE DINO'S! If you are looking for one of the best grubby burgers or chicken sandwiches in Nashville then you have found the spot. I've had the chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger with animal fries and damn it was that incredible. Everyone was really friendly and I really loved the vibe. 4th visit 4/15/2022 . this is a local , neighborhood bar/diner which has been here for years. It is staffed by cool people & my goodness they have one of the top 3 burgers in Nashville,imho. 6 hungry AF downhill skateboarders go here regularly ( now) to consume beef so we can cont to shred...killer fries , lots of beers , imported&domestic and freaking cold Coke in the correct ,large glass bottles. Me and my skate crew live the place. TL/DR : Don't judge a book or diner by its cover; this place is now one of my preferred place for burgers.

I really wanted to love this place. My veggie burger was delicious—but let’s be honest, it’s not that hard to make a delicious burger. The one comment my boyfriend, who is a chef, had about his burger was “no salt.” Animal style fries were great. I just couldn’t get over the prices. I would be back to this place much more often if the prices matched the atmosphere!

This bar was recommended to me and my boyfriend while we were at the tiki bar up the street and we were not disappointed. The food was great, the service was efficient and the staff was kind. Definitely reminded us of our favorite dives from back home. Also a big kudos to the staff because they had a consistent stream of customers and the bartender and cook worked nonstop and it looked fluid and effortless! This bar knows how to get things done.

I stepped into this bar not knowing what to expect. Well I was actually expecting a cheap PBR and cigarette smoke air with a few drunks leaning at the bar giving me weird looks because I wasn’t from the area. Dino’s surprised me with the amount of beards, plaid and round glasses meaning one thing. I can expect the beer to be cold, and the food to be exceptional for the price. I had the burger which will make your pants stiff. The PBR and shot deal was great. I recommend having 3 of them.

A no-frills Nashville institution. Beers in cans, and some of the best burgers and fries you've ever had. All very affordable. Staff are always friendly. Switching to non-smoking awhile back was a huge improvement. Parking can be tough out front but there's street parking nearby.

Seen a few people complain about the wait times. The food is amazing and comes out fresh as quickly as possible. Any comments on the service not being good are completely false if not an outright lie. The staff is amazing. I'll continue to go whether the wait is 1 hour or 3 hours. Completely worth it.

Take my review with a grain of salt. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time. Wonderful customer service, the staff was very polite and accommodating. Music was way too loud for my comfort. I could not hear my parter or the staff talk at all. And they were playing YouTube clips of women's wrestling matches on the TV which was very weird to me. Definitely not a place I will go back to but everyone else seemed to like the vibe so who am I to judge. The food was actually really good. I might order the food to go some other time but I won't be sitting down inside.

The fries are really good if you like crispy fries. I like their five dollar amaro. I really like their version of hot chicken. It's not too hot, so you cowards need'nt fret. So this is the best burger I've had since I've been in Nashville, me and my wife moved here and we wanted to find a burger that was close to in n out burger here and this burger did it for us. Listen, I have been to a lot of late night, after hour food stops, and all over the east coast, too. Being an I.B.E.W. Member has provided me with the opportunity to work and travel to many cities and localities. After going out to a local establishment, the perfect stop for late night or after hours pit stop, is Dino's Bar. There were lines, but remarkably the food came pretty quickly and was excellent. The next time we're in Nashville, we will definitely pay a visit. 🎶👍👍👍

My wife and I Went to this little dive bar one evening during our vacation week in Nashville, Tennessee. We saw that it made USA today's list of top burgers to try in the U.S. decided to check it out. We definitely was not disappointed as the burgers and fries were definitely outstanding. Like I said it's a little hole in the wall dive bar so when my wife and I got there we discussed possibly going somewhere else due to just the way it looked outside. We decided let's just check it out..... As the old saying you may have heard "don't judge a book by the cover" Dino's is definitely the place that rings true! We chowed down the amazing burgers, then stuck around a while while we drank some beer on tap while we enjoyed some friendly conversations with the staff and other customers. Great atmosphere and an awesome staff! Everyone should go there if ever in Nashville!

I've lost count of how many people I have sent the way of Dino's. It is the best place for a no frills amazing cheeseburger and the animal fries are top notch. I usually go with one or two friends and try to score a much prized seat at the bar (I have known some people to wait over an hour for one even though there are open tables) it just makes the amazing experience that much more.

This place is fantastic. I was a bit leery of the Joe's style fries since tartar sauce isn't very good and velveeta pretty much likewise but it somehow all works into a pretty delicious concoction. The burger's are greasy and delicious. A winner for sure, especially after a few beers.

Knowing this establishment had been visited by the late, great Anthony Bourdain, I had it high on my list of places to visit. I can say that for a place that looked like a hole in the wall, they are doing something right. There was a line from the time I got in until I left, and after enjoying their food I get why. It's alright, mix between a dive bar and a greasy spoon. The food was just okay - my BLT came on white bread (not Texas toast, but small squares of white bread), which was odd. The fries were incredible. It's super cramped inside, but there's a nice large patio you can walk straight into from the back. Parking looked like a nightmare, so try to get dropped off if you can. My main complaint is that the prices literally on their website do not match the prices in house, especially for drinks. That was annoying.

People seem to either hate or love Dino's, I am one of those who love it. Yes the place is a bona fide dive, I suspect deliberately. The inside is insanely small, at rush hours you can wait for 15 minutes in line to order take-out, the inside is run down and the street parking can be downright suicidal to back out of. So why so good? Staff and food. The burgers are among the best in Nashville, super fresh and tasty. The fries are also very fresh, no stale oil. Overall just a great burger and fries in a quirky setting which friendly staff What is not to love if you can get past the appearance from the outside and actually go through the door!

So the inside is super small, dark and outdated but do not let that deter you. The burger and chicken sandwich were amazing!!!!!! I also had a donut which was super tasty. Absolute must stop for some late night food! This place is easy to miss. There is nothing fancy about this place to grab your attention, just a Coca-Cola sign with Dino's written on it. But it is always packed because it's that good. The atmosphere is like a dive bar, dark and cozy. Service was fast and the staff was great. The grilled chicken sandwich was moist and delicious. The animal fires are amazing. The burger hit the spot. You will not regret this stop. There is also a good size bar if you're still feeling thirsty.

Definitely a shot of whiskey and a beer type of place, not a cocktail bar. Be prepared to wait in a short line if you are there on a Friday or Saturday night. The place is tiny so finding a spot for a group can be rough.

What a wonderful place! From outside you cannot appreciate the warmness of this tiny location. What this establishment lacks in number of seats it more than makes up with hospitality, congeniality, and feel good comfort food. No sooner than I walked in, snagged a seat at the bar, I was greeted, asked what I'd like to drink. I sipped a Shiner Bock (on tap!) while I read the menu and heard about the brunch specials. I decided on the Patty Melt breakfast. OMG! 😍 It was perfectly prepared, a ton of goodness, called food, in a basket that suited my eyes, my mouth, my belly, and my wallet, to a T. The jocularity of the folks at the bar was matched by the staff, each guffaw exchange encouraging another. The music - eclectic and mood lifting. You find yourself swaying in your seat. Dino's is a little hard to notice if you're not looking for it. But once you've experienced Dino's you know you'll be back. 😎

If you like dive bars with loads of personality and greasy food, Dino's is your late night eating joint. When you pull up, you arrive at a seedy brick building crammed into a street side. You are greeted by faded window text reading "Dino's", more suited for a 50s barber shop than a 21st century hangout. The inside is just as packed as its exterior street scene. Watch out claustrophobes, Dino's popularity and layout make it a chaotic mess near the bar but that's half the charm. The menu is greasy, cheap, American goodness. Main highlights: eggs in a basket, animal style burgers, and a number of local tap beers. You can't lose with any of those. The back patio provides a reprieve from the confined inside while providing a great back drop for catching up with friends or making new ones. I love this place and hope to make it a staple of future visits to Nashville. It's not classy, but gritty: if that's your jam, check it out.

The majority of these positive reviews have never been to a real Italian restaurant. Bread was doughy, house salad is just romaine + iceberg lettuce, steak seasoning belongs on a pizza, marinara sauce has hints of ketchup. Baked potato comes with half a stick of butter. Bartender was inexperienced, but the cocktails were very cheap. Atmosphere was good, though!

Dino's is truly a gem, uncut and unadulterated. It's a no-frills dive for locals, quickly serving their wide variety of simple food and drink options, all excellently prepared. They make my favorite Hot Chicken (I get medium - tons of flavor with a little kick) and I've tried a lot already. You can dip out back for some fresh air or a smoke, there's a ton of seating. I can imagine it's perfect out there in the summer. It's everything you need and nothing you don't. Enjoy 😎

Great late night spot for food and drinks. Staff is always friendly. Be prepared for a long wait on Fridays and Saturdays because it's a super popular late night spot for food. Not a good spot for groups of 4 or more - you won't be able to sit together. Space is extremely limited. Still one of my favorite spots any night except Fridays and Saturdays. Definitely check it out.

There were a lot of things to love about Nashville, but Dino's was the thing that solidified my desire to move to the city. An east Nashville classic. I like finding no-frill places. Cheap beer and good fried food. Fries are thick and just what you want after a long day. Burgers come out fresh. The line did get pretty long on a Friday night so you may wait up to 30 minutes for your food, which seems like a long time in a small dive bar like this. But would love to go back on a slower night (or earlier in the evening).

This place is awesome. Had just got off and was craving some Nashville hot chicken and this place showed up on GPS. This is a cozy little spot with a great atmosphere, friendly cooks and servers, good prices, and great food. It was packed when I went but only one person was in front of me to order. I got a seat at the bar after standing briefly. About 10 minutes after I ordered, the cook announced over the speakers that there was a 30 minute wait on food but I got mine about 5 minutes later. I told one of the servers that it was a very nice gesture to let people know, especially for those who were there for the first time. I started with a pair of cookies from Mosko's as an appetizer and anyone who's been to Mosko's know they have great cookies so this was a bonus. When my hot chicken arrived, it was hot and savory and wasn't drenched in spices like at some places. I immediately noticed, after attempting to pull off a small bit with my fork, that it wasn't whole chicken but chicken tenders. I told my server that this was also a huge plus as I was expecting to spend half the night picking chicken off of tiny bones. The tenders themselves weren't strips but more like chunks (think pork chops) and came apart easily. After two orders of cookies, drink, fries, and chicken, the bill was well under $20. That was impressive. Also, the gentlemen on my sides had the Frito pie and cheeseburger. Both looked savory. There is usually at least a 20-30 minute wait. This place is a good place to network as well as forge new relationships as I noticed, after overhearing a few conversations, there were many young professionals there (at least on this particular Friday night). Two business owners were exchanging info right in front of me when I first got in line, just to give one example. As of now, I've found my new spot for hot chicken. Recommend.

Forget The Pharmacy or any joint with burger in their name, if you want to be blown away by the best burger you've had, their affordable price point on food, and inexpensive drinks make this place a must! Their decor isn't to everyone's taste, but don't let their peeling wallpaper and duct-tape patchwork fool you, their open kitchen is spotless, and their food will cure that late-night craving. The first time that I went, I was reluctant to try anything that wasn't booze, but after some coercion from some good friends, I tried the Boogie Burger (ancho salsa, guacamole, and queso fresco). It was so good, that I ordered a second one, while I was eating the first! I left there in a blissful food coma with a new addiction. I honestly haven't gone longer than a week without demolishing one of their burgers, and an entire basket of fries.

Dino's is the absolute bomb. There's a reason Anthony Bourdain came to Dino's when he came to Nashville. It has a solid burger. The beer is cold and reasonably priced. I first heard about Dinos bar and grill from Thin Lizzy, and then a friend saud qe had to go while I was visiting. I'm glad I did. Appt smaller than I imagined but that was part of the charm. Had to get a dinos burger and of cource animal style fries(being from California im an in n out fanatic) and they are just as good if not better than in n out. The burger was fantastic. The vibe was welcoming and food filling. Great patio as well.

The best late night dive bar food around town. You never know who you're gonna bump into in this hipster dive. Maybe Jack White? The Black Keys? Questlove? Who knows? I stick with the burger & fries, which are the crispy orange fries I like, & the frito pie. Corn chips layered with chili & cheese. Everything is cooked to order so they take a while & there's usually a line if you wait too late. The kitchen close at 2am I believe & they don't take call ahead orders.

The absolute definition of a hipster-dive-bar, complete with shady lighting, purposefully not so clean tables, board games with half the pieces missing, ugly 1970's decor and an uninviting front that doesn't want your uncool tourist money to walk in. After a night of bar hopping and shenanigans, one should try stopping into Dino's for a pitcher of beer and a big ole plate of fries. A wonderful dive bar tucked into the pockets of East Nashville, Dino's can be your last stop or your after work hangout. Depending on the time and day, you may find yourself waiting in a long line, struggling to find an empty seat, or just in a dive bar filled with four or five other occupants. This dive bar has such reasonable prices for food and beer. Burgers, fish and chips, nachos you name it! Parking is a bit tricky during late night hours, so I highly suggest ubering or parking in the nearby neighborhoods (legally). Whether Dino's is your first or last stop of the night, you will be sure to have a great time here with a myriad of groups. Oh, they have outdoor seating do don't be intimidated by the crowded indoor space during busy hours.

Great Dive Bar, serves Awesome Burgers, Good beer selection, has weekend brunch menu, no frills, dressed down, zero b.s., it is what it is...burgers, egg in toast, fries, beer, etc. served from a hole in the wall......maybe 6-8 tables.... maybe and 6-8 barstools/counter seats...not for the claustrophobic....claim to be Nashville's oldest dive bar location....which is quite possible....if you dig a good dive bar, you'll dig this the most... at Dino's "they love everyone!"....and what they do, they do very well! I have to mention this in addition to my other comments: due to the pathetic excuse of tomatoes served by most restaurants, it is a rare event that I don't throw the white/pink, gritty "whatever that thing was" in the trash, however, at Dino's when I ordered my cheeseburger last weekend and took off the top but (which was perfectly toasted btw), I could have hugged the cook.... there sat, atop my perfectly cooked burger, the most beautiful, red, perfectly ripened (what I am pretty sure was a) Bradley tomato...and that made me happy and also made me take note that these guys and gals, take pride in what they do! Highly recommend!

Came to Nashville for NYE and had an AirBnB in East Nasty. We started downtown because we had some Nashville newbs who wanted to see everything. The crowds were insane, so I convinced everyone to try something new and trust me that East Nashville is a good time. Driving by Dino's, it caught someone's eye and we decided to stop in. What a great dive bar, definitely up our alley! The food was wonderful, I split the quesadilla with a friend and one member of our group said it was the best fried chicken he has ever had. For 6 folks, a round of beers a 4-5 dishes was only 30$!!! Can't beat the in Nashville. We will definitely be back
