Reviews of DeSano Pizza Bakery

We went on a Saturday afternoon a little before noon and there was no wait.
We got the meatballs (highly recommend) and a cheese pizza, asked well done. It was super fast to get the food and the extra condiments they have are a must. I ended up making a hot oil garlic Parmesan dipping sauce and did I mention the meatballs?
The pizza is delicious and a medium along with the meatballs were perfect for my husband and myself. I'll be coming back to check out another pizza (ricotta stuffed crust.....) As well as a dessert as well!

I have driven in front of this place countless times
and I had no idea they were there. Meaning, VERY
easy to miss this location. Their parking lot it's big so
it makes you think is just a parking garage-type.
The counter/cashier is the first thing you see. You
order and then find your table of preference.
Nothing out of the ordinary until you come around
and see the "dough room" and basically have a
perfect view of everyone making your pizza and see
the ovens and such. Like a big warehouse looking
place.
Of course this place family friendly. They serve wine
& beer.
Now the out of the ordinary part.... The taste! I
mean, how much can I tell you about pizza? it's pizza
right? Well... I don't know if it's their process, the
ingredients or what, but all of it tasted SO darn
good. It was not thick nor thin just perfect ratio of
dough, salads & toppings.
If you're a fan of pizzas, I say you give them a try.
And last, service: it was good, with a smile &
profesional.

Walked down to this pizza place because I was conducting business in the area. 700+ reviews and 4.5 stars. It was fantastic. Meatballs were incredible. Thin pizza. Hand tossed. Great flavor. Crispy crust. Will definitely return!
Kris Santos
Outstanding service, kind & friendly staff going above and beyond to assist and please. Super fresh imported ingredients on the delicious authentic pizzas. So glad we found this place! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!❤️
Erin Verdi
Easily the best pie in Nashville. We love it here, just a little on the pricey side but the pizza is worth it. The caprese salad is so so good as well. Plus the dining area has a really cool atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!
Natalie
Had to try this place after seeing the reviews. Wow. The spinach salad was amazing. Also had the Caprissiosa. The person working the register was awesome… helped me find a pizza that was perfect for me. The dining area is an open concept with their kitchen so you can watch them make your pizza. Pretty entertaining!
Hope
Delicious pizza! The outside of this pizzeria is unassuming, but inside is a hidden gem of amazing pizza. All of the food was made to order and you can watch the cooks the whole time while you wait in this unique open-concept kitchen. To my surprise, we were given a complimentary cheese pizza for our wait, which I didn't think was even that long. Pizza came out hot and fresh, straight from the brick oven. I highly recommend DeSano if you're in Nashville and looking to satisfy a pizza craving.

Once I found the restaurant, it was amazing 👏. So neatly decorated. I placed an order to go and it was ready in no time.
I love my sweet tea and they mostly had beer and bottled drinks (which is fine), I don't like any of those drinks. They do have Peak Tea in a bottle. I just don't care for it either. What can I say...I am weird! Lol !
Great place to grab a pizza, they have a large menu and I bet everything is great!! I got the Margherita Pizza MVN.

If you want a great neapolitan pizza, head to DeSano Pizza Bakery. Hill makes a great pie and was super gracious with his time spent chatting with us. Definitely check them out if you haven't. Good pizza is made better by great company, so take a friend. #FoodiesOfNashville
Liz
Caprese salad, Margherita, NY Style and a Cannoli.
The salad was gorgeous, but needed more balsamic in my opinion. I love tomatoes, but it was definitely tomato heavy. The NY Style pizza was just okay. The margherita pizza was fantastic! The Cannoli was yummy too. Pretty good overall!
ETA after restaurant's response: An in-store condiments bar doesn't do much good for delivery orders. 😏
Riley Qualls
Truly a quick, easy, BUT tasty experience. I have taken two three month guiding experiences in Europe, and this brings me right back to some of my favorite pizzas there. Grab a pizza here while in nashville!
Andrew Minster
Best pizza recipe, best ingredients, very best pizza ovens outside of Italy. Always a special treat. Get some!
Ann P.
Looks like real Italian pizza but does not taste like it. I was quite disappointed with the Margherita pizza. The gentleman who took our order was very nice. Great service, subpar pizza 😔
Travis Law
Authentic woodfired Pizza. If you want to dip your pizza in ranch Don't eat here. This is for the true pizza connoisseurs like myself. We had a couple build your own pizzas and we're cooked 2 perfection, got a complimentary lasagna pizza because of our good looks. And the calzone was enough to stuff two people.
Matt Campbell
A pizza place that is neat and has rustic feel being tucked away in Nashville. Pizza sauce is sweet and the crust is toasty! A nice comfortable vibe with bench table seating. Had ordered the Americana ( N.Y style ) Pomordorini and the Margherrita D.O.P
Madelyn Mazurek
I ordered the Margherita D.O.P. It was supposed to come with a basil garnish, and I really like basil so I was very disappointed when there was no basil…
However I ordered online and my pizza was ready perfectly on time. It was cooked perfectly, the crust has a great texture, and you can tell the cheese they use are fresh.
Plus, I appreciate that there is a section for pick up orders so you can quickly get in and out!
It’s a great spot for pizza, however the parking lot is extremely tiny!! Beware and plan accordingly!
Patrick Londino
Didn’t think I would find such wonderful pizza in Nashville. I hesitate to call
it a wood fire or “East coast” style because whatever you call it you’ll be able
to call all their pizzas delicious! Friendly staff too!
Katie Fuller
A group at work called a week ahead to make sure we were able to get a table or two during the lunch hour. Alec promised us it would absolutely work out for us. The date arrives and we make our way to DeSano's - I called ahead and ordered salads and pizzas for 10, a small group really. I was surprised that it was not filled with folks when we arrived at 12:15 or so. The salads were waiting on us and the pizzas were being made as we ate our salads. The timing was just right and the customer service was excellent! The food was delicious and there was enough for several of us to take home leftovers. I highly recommend a group lunch, a solo adventure or a to-go pick up anytime!
Victor Crespo
Looking for a great Neapolitan style pizza in the city? DeSano is your place. They have different options on the menu but we had the classics: margherita and marinara. Both were really good. We ordered the individual size 9" (the offer this only for lunch). They were a little bit undercooked but maybe because they just opened some minutes ago when we came in and the fire ovens weren't hot enough. The tomato sauce and mozzarella were really good.
W. Ian Douglas
Great pizza, family friendly location, friendly staff. They recommended the lasagna pizza and we were not disappointed!! Great recommendation.
Adam L
This place has the best pizza and wicked fast service. Also get a cannoli - you won’t regret it
Phil Lushin
One of the best pizzas I've ever had. With 3 wood burning ovens, this place is legit! Friendly staff and communal atmosphere.
John Griffis
My son wanted pizza so.we stopped here. I have to be honest, it was a little pricey. That said, we got our pizzas very fast. I'm allergic to cheese so I ordered mine without and they did make a mistake and put cheese kn it but they were apologetic and made me a new one very quickly. As for the pizza, it was very very good. Both of us actually ate the whole thing, yes we were hungry but it was so good we just kept going. I absolutely recommend eating here.
Andrew Frongillo
Amazing pizza, tremendous red sauce. One of the best pizzas we've had!
Grace Shore
WOW! Pizza came out in maybe 5 minutes probably less, pizza was incredible, cannoli was better. 1000/5
Iesha Sprowls
Best fresh pizza you can tell each ingredient is fresh. On top of that you get to see them make it while you wait. This was my first time trying a wood burnt pizza. And it was everything and more loved it.
Jakob Akin
This has got to be one of the best wood fired pizza restaurants in Nashville. Very authentic...Neopolitan traditional pizza. Just incredible. Don't expect to get a typical American style pizza here...if that's what you want don't come here.
Cameron “Camo” Taylor
Awesome pizza. Truly amazing taste, but I wish it was crispier on the bottom. Pizza always comes out way faster than you think it will, and people there are very nice.
Alex Cunningham
Delicious! We make it a point to stop here whenever in Nashville! San Gennaro all the way!
John Devericks
This is my favorite place for pizza. I'd say it's the best around Nashville at least from the many pizza joints I've been too. If you have a chance you won't be disappointed.
Carlos Babcock
Had the Amanti della Carne; meatballs, sausage scamorza, carmelized onions, marinera, garlic, and pecorino romano. It was a generous sized portion, aout the size of their pizza. It was good I just expected the meat to be a bit more seasoned. Good service.
Max Donner
Stumbled upon this place... Absolutely love the pizza... hands down was the best pizza that I have had in Nashville. Been working in the area from out of state. I will definitely being going back tomorrow.
Ooohhh, and the staff was exceptionally friendly.
john bender
Ordered a large Desano pizza and it came out less than expected due to some issues in the kitchen, management reached out, refunded the pizza and offered a calzone that was SUPERB. That level of customer service is uncanny in the modern business era and should be noted as such.
Tara Allen 51
Excellent wood-fired pizza, homemade Cannolis, and super fast service! You can easily find parking in the parking lot, choose to dine in the main entrance or bar, or take out. I will say the Cannolis are the bomb!
Small town Cindy
Best pizza in town!! Wood fire 9vens and real Italian pizza. Very nice ppl too. This was my second time to Nashville and the only place I had on my food list.
Nicole Peachey
AMAZING Neapolitan pizza! Really good flavor, fresh ingredients, and we got to watch the guy make the pizza and put it in the oven. Great atmosphere, with good service, open seating, and good food. Can’t wait to visit again next time we’re in Nashville.
Kendall Hinst
Whenever I have dinner plans with a big group, this is my go-to spot. I’ve celebrated several different occasions here because they have a great dining space and some of the best pizza in Nashville.
Nicole Ray
One of the BEST pizza places in Nashville. Never had a bad meal here. I’ll be sad when they have to leave this location bc of construction.
Bethany Bell
*Update- changing the review because the owner made the situation right and we appreciate the care and customer service and will give it another try. We plan to go next week.
Tough experience for me personally. We had a very, very large group go eat there. No gluten free pizza options so I couldn't eat. Left our car there overnight since it said you could park there if you were eating there. They got drinks with the pizza and left the car there until the morning so noone would be drinking and driving. They towed our car. There were no signs saying that customers couldn't be there. We've always been in Nashville, and never had a place tow us in that situation. Most places don't want their customers to drink and drive, and don't tow you for picking your car up the next morning. It was just a bummer and makes us not want to return.
Tom Padgett
My Calzone was phenomenal and my cousin said his pizza was the best he had even eaten! We will return! Highly Recommend
Mark Followill
One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Delicious crust with a generous amount of toppings but not too much cheese. We had the Diavola which was tremendous. There are good drink options if you sit in the huge room with the bar in the back. They have good salads here as well.
Robert Daniels
The best pizza I've had in a long time - maybe ever. The crust is what makes it. Definitely get the cheesy garlic bread and try the spicy oil. The marinara was so good, too. And the atmosphere is cool with a fantastic music selection. Will be back next time we're in Nashville.
Pat zbit
My work group took an outing/lunch here with a total group of 29 people. They were able to serve us up at a decent speed. There pizzas are pretty tasty but feel a little bit sparse for my taste. I beleive this is only due to my particular tastes in pizza. When you go in, you have to select and pay for your drinks rather than having one bill at the end. This yields a feeling of working with different parties rather than one connected restaurant. If you have a large group like we did with people arriving a little late, this makes it awkward for the person picking up the tab. It was an interesting experience but it was not a place that I would put at the top of my list.
Steve “Stevie G.” Gallegos
When we walked into this place we thought we might have walked into a restaurant with it's best days having long since passed. We were greeted by a very friendly cashier who explained that the deserted space we were in was simply where we place our order. We then walk a few steps into the dining room where our food will be brought to us. Still skeptical, we ordered and then...wow! How cool is this? A wide open dining area with community tables, much like a reserved picnic are at your Italian family reunion.
Although it was relatively empty when we went for lunch (at 2:30 or so), I can only imagine how fun it would be to come back again when it's crowded.
How about the food?? Yes, the food. Absolutely excellent!!The salads fresh, crisp and yummy flavorful. The pizza? Hahaha, the best Neapolitan pizza I think we've had ever! Enjoy and #LiveRemarkably

✓Definitely one of the best pizzas I've ever had! The ingredients are flown in fresh from Naples Italy directly to this local establishment. They have 6 locations in Six States. They use Acunto brick ovens, also built in Naples and offer an outstanding selection on their menu! The dough is made with the same ingredients fresh daily! Great beers/drinks with great food and a great staff.
★A little pricey and a little greasy, but I definitely thought it was worth it!
Laura Frith
ABSOLUTELY the best pizza I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is ideal for a date or a family dinner. You don’t get this anywhere else and the customer service is off the charts!
Cody Wray
Called in three pizzas and they were ready in 20 minutes. All three were really good. Really liked the crust on all and the cheese pizza was great!
Birdie Loeffler
As a local Nashvillian, I recognize that the “best pizza in town” is a commonly contested subject. In my personal opinion, however, DeSano is hands-down the best. With its classic Neapolitan wood-fired style, and all ingredients imported straight from the motherland, they reign pizza king in my book. They allow you to bring your own wine, but you can also purchase beer and wine there. Everything is so fresh and the buffalo mozzarella just melts in your mouth. If you like your ‘za with a little extra seasoning, you can help yourself to freshly chopped garlic, kosher salt, cracked pepper, and grated Parmesan. A word to the wise, when dough runs out for the day, they’re done for the night. The set up is all family style seating, so expect to share your table if it’s busy. Simple, classic, and crave-worthy. One night, my boyfriend and I were leaving as the place was closing up shop, and on our way out, we happened to pass by where an employee was stuffing cannolis for the next day, and when I commented on how good they looked, the employee promptly boxed up the one he was making and insisted we take it home for free. Also, shout-out to the San G (San Gennaro), our pizza selection staple, with sweet peppadew peppers and salty sausage, it’s the perfect slice.
Jim Farrar (Jim Bravo)
DeSano is now the preferred pizza place of my household! The atmosphere here was great, the staff was very friendly, and the pizza was outstanding! We love in Clarksville, but will be making the drive in any time we have a hankering for great pizza!
Michael Gorman
Great tasting pizza made fresh in wood burning brick ovens. Order up front and grab your soft drinks or BYOB and then find a seat at one of the picnic tables in the next room where you can watch your pizza being made. Huge pies and salads. Fun staff making the food.
Dominick Maone
Great pizza. Ok prices. Salad had more meat and cheese than a large pizza. Was pretty good. Person at register was not very friendly.
Minjae Kim
Great laid-back atmosphere to bring your friends with. I don’t like the idea of having to pay your food first before getting seated, but it is what it is. I ordered their marg pizza. I like the idea of having your own station for pickles, jalapeños, and cheese, but I found their pizza good but nothing outstanding. Perhaps if you’re a first timer, bring a friend or two to order different kinds of pizza and try a variety of them!
Alexander Kurze
Pizza is really good. Dough was excellent and toppings as well. Beer was good but the atmosphere wasn’t that great. It’s not really cosy but rather industrial. Cannoli weren’t that great compared to the pizza.
Robert D. Johnson III (RoJoIII)
This is my favorite pizza place in town, pizza is absolutely delicious! Fresh dough every day.
The guys do everything from start to finish in full view making your pizza and dropping it in the wood fire stoves cooking you pizza right in front of you.
They also give dough to kids if you ask occupying the young ones while you wait.
Definitely love this place!
C L
Very good pizza (especially the wood fired crust) and fun looking place is overshadowed by unhappy/unfriendly staff. We tried hard to communicate but there was not much willingness to even make eye contact or speak in an audible tone at the order desk. Maybe an "off" day??
Caitlin Jo Ramsey
Doesn't look like more than cinderblock warehouse factory on the outside, but inside, three wood fired ovens dominate the kitchen. This place is all about the pizza, and it's Neapolitan style. Balsamic, garlic, and olive oil are offered in the dining room for dipping. While this isnt a traditional sit-down restaurant with table service, the hostess was patient and made suggestions about the menu. Kitchen staff brought out our pizza and cannolis promptly.
Cody Faga
Great pizza spot! Food was good and is cooked on wood fire ovens. You’re able see the ovens and the wood all out in the open. Picnic table style seating and nice little atmosphere.

Nashville's Cafe Antico. If you are familiar with Atlanta's pizzeria Cafe Antico, then you know what to find, an excellent pizza. 🍕 🍕
Will Caine
The worker who took our order was very amicable. Some orders got canceled so he even offered to give us the pizzas so that they wouldn't have to be thrown away. Great policy, and overall good service. We weren't sat waiting for long for the take-out order.
Barry Stokes
Freshest ingredients I’ve ever had on a pie! A must stop, kid friendly family atmosphere & fun environment. Make the drive Dad! Arrived 6:30 on Friday night no wait at all even though google maps said it was busy. Enjoy!😁! …
Samuel Edmondson
Got the vesuvio calzone and the desano pizza. I didn't really like either of them. The calzone breading was weird, and there wasn't really any cheese in there either. The marinara was actually pretty good. The pizza wasn't really cooked enough for me, and the toppings weren't that good either.
James Bordbar
Very good true Italian margherita pizza. Best I've tatted outside of Italy. The dough has the perfect crunch and crisped well, mozerela cheese was smooth and rich, the tomato sauce also had a great sour note.
Gary Storch
Pizza was great, service blew it. We sat for a half hour waiting for our pizza to come out! Checked with the staff and the forgot our order! Finally came out 10 minutes later. Other then that, all’s well.
Calvin Stringer
Came for the first time for dinner, was greeted by Chris who made a recommendation for a pizza what was a very good choice! The restaurant was clean, inviting, and I will definitely be back to try different pizzas!
Doris Mosocco
If your looking for a pizza that takes you back to Italy, you must try DeSantis Pizza. Excellent service and the canola is to die for, freshly made.
Carrie Finnegan
This place is a great casual place to get a wood fired pizza that is perfectly done. No char! We were ordering for our large group with middle school boys and then realized there was no where to sit. They processed our order differently...this apparently delayed our order and they gave us a discount which was completely unnecessary given how busy the place was. I really appreciated the managers concern. I highly recommend this place.
Call ahead is apparently available...I didnt realize this or I would have done that!
Jessica Temple
Amazing pizza. Wonderful service. $6 chanti. Cannolis that taste like Christmas. I'd give 1000 stars if I could.
Christopher Day
Pizza was amazing! They don't do plates so everyone shares off the tray. It's open air seating so it gets loud at times. You order at the bar and they bring you your food. Beer prices are reasonable
Kevin Funkhouser
This is some good brick oven pizza. Reasonably priced with a large open eating area. I eat here everytime I'm in Nashville.
Benjamin Anderson
Honest to being a parallel to true Italian style pizza. Ordered the Margherita DOP. Could taste each ingredient clearly, fresh tomato, basil, mozzarella and a soft crust. Some won’t appreciate the Italian style if they are used to NY type pies. But they do what they set out to do best, make Italian pies.
Amarii Davu
The atmosphere and service here was amazing. This is one of those places that makes you come back and won't let you try the pizza just once. I definitely enjoyed the fact that I could bring my own wine as well! All in all, this place has become one of my go to places for pizza and a good time.
Jhoan Monsalve
It's surprising how fast you get your order! Really good pizza, will be back soon!
PB&Julia
J and I ordered the San Gennaro carryout the other night, as pictured, and it was only ok. This was the first time I’ve eaten their pizza but J has many times. She tells a tale similar to my first experience. Underwhelming in flavor for the uniqueness of seemingly flavorful ingredients. The warmer they used didn’t seem to keep it close to oven fresh, as after the 7 minutes drive back home, it was time for a reheat. Maybe it’s a story of dine in only, but pizza has always proven to us as a “eat it however whenever and it’ll be the same” sort of food. So take it as you will.
MD-LAX DAD
Not quite true neapolitan pizza (I know, I just returned from 2 weeks in Naples, Italy, area), but sooooo gooood! Go there!
Simon Kamp
Best pizza in Nashville, and Tennessee, NY, TX, DC, California, Oregon, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban. And yes we've had "The Best Pizza" in all those places. Great service, quick, love the toppings and the crust is perfect. Not too thick, not too thin.
Rich Davis
I Love This Place! Everytime I come to Nashville I absolutely have to stop in and get a pie. My Pizza Pie Baker was Mr. Hill pictured in front of the three ovens.
Mark Mizelle
My cousins treated me to the nicest lunch I've had in a while. I highly recommend the lasagna pizza and the cannoli.
John Walker
Best pizza I’ve had in 20 years it was outstanding my wife and I ate one at about 6:00 in the evening and went back at one in the morning and got another one.
BCM
Very good pizza, we had the Dasano, basically pepperoni and sausage. But calling it a pepperoni and sausage pizza would be a shame, this is the standard for sausage and pepperoni pizzas. The crust was delicious and they make it right behind where you sit. Pizza was out quick, like five minutes. It's a bit loud but that is the environment. Some have complained that the pizza is pricy, we I think it was spot on. Location is great, valet parking, and good service, you get what you pay for. Well worth it in my book. Oh i almost forgot, the ovens are wood fired. Damn yummy
Nicky Chips
Perfect spot for a post Music City Bowl victory #BoilerUP . There was ample space and the staff was extremely accommodating .
sarah Southard
Great pizza when visiting in Nashville. Went after our trolly pub crawl and the pizza was amazing. Wood burning oven pizza with great quality ingredients it was delicious.
Rayshawn Harris
Incredible! As a self proclaimed "Pizza Daddy" it was a must that i try a pizza place while i was in town. Although the za may not look all that, the flavor was exceptional. If it wasn't a little on the pricey side I woul have bought another pizza to eat MYSELF. 5 STARS.
Joe Brooks
The outside of this place is very non-descript. You could drive right by it and not know it. Inside in the reception area it was a little dark and bare, almost as if it wasn't finished. This opened up into a more well-lit dining space that had a bit of an industrial feel to the decor, and it seemed to have an unusual layout. My wife and I ordered a 13" Americana (NY Style) pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage and mushrooms. The service mostly amounted to delivering the pizza to the table, although it was prompt and friendly. The pizza that arrived had a fairly wide (maybe 2") and thick edge crust, a portion of which was black and burnt on one piece. The inner part of the crust was appropriately thin for a NY style pizza and very foldable. The toppings were reasonably generous and seemed fresh. Biting into the pizza revealed a number of Italian flavors, the most prominent being what I believe was some garlic flavor to crust and the pepperoni. I enjoyed the pizza and thought it was tasty and a very good representative of the genre. I also took some home and reheated it in the microwave. I'd have to say that while it was good reheated, it was better fresh. When reheated, some of the edge crust was a little chewy/tough in places, but overall, the pizza was still good.
Being originally from NY state, I initially found it difficult to find really good pizza in the Nashville area. However, it's actually been getting a lot easier. I've found 5 such places in the past four years, whereas I hadn't really found any in my prior 21 years here. This place would rank 4th on my list of good pizza places in the area, and given the competition, that's a pretty honorable place. If you're in the area of West End and are craving some NY style pizza, I'd definitely recommend giving DeSano's a try.
Larissa Faria
Pizza was great! But gets cold quickly!
The waitress was super nice!
courtney mchugh
We ordered on our one night stay in Nashville, through a delivery service. The order came a little late and was incorrect. I contacted DeSano’s and they told me they tried several times to stop the delivery driver to give him the correct food, even following him out of the restaurant, and he wouldn’t stop. They remade our entire order for free! The food was amazing and Sheldon, the assistant manager who helped me was beyond kind and accommodating. Thank you so much! I hope we get a chance to come through and have your amazing food again!
Jason Parker
We ordered for the first time and got the Pepperoni Margherita Doppio Pizza | 12" and hazelnut canoli. Loved it! Friendly staff. Just the right flavors. Crust was perfect.
Robb Hereford
Excellent pizza, but very light and airy crust....double your order!
"Legalize Marinara!"
kelli petersen
I’ve lived all over the Contry and this is hands down the best pizza! I moved away and still miss it!!
Mark Kaiser
Excellent cross between Neapolitian and New York style pizza. This is some of the best pizza in Nashville representing that particular style and probably my favorite pizza place now that Joey's is gone.
Rachel
The best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. I'm instantly transported to Italy! I get the margherita every single time and you couldn't convince me to get anything else. You can't top perfection!
Jason Branson
Love DeSano! Best pizza I can remember. Industrial vibe. All about the pizza here!
Keitha Sanchez
So amazing! We got a pizza a calzone and cannolli! Everything tasted so fresh and was delicious!
Ali Gaffey
A favorite for Neapolitano-style pizza in Nashville. The prices are high but the pizzas are great for sharing.
Will Dickerson
Legitimately some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. It’s up there with the best shops in New York and New Haven.
Eric Heinz
Legit pizza! Gotta try the DeSano, but any of their pies are sure to satisfy!
T Rush
The food is very overpriced for what you get. It's probably upcharged due to the location. Some of the ingredients were left off and the salad was mainly the leaf, nothing else.
Nils
Very good pizza, but the server lacked enthusiasm and looked bored, which made the experience not 5 star worthy.
Zack Hunter
Best pricing for pizza in the town and some of the best crust I’ve ever had!!! Will always come back!!
Makell Morrill
So good! We were sick of eating steak and bbq everyday, and this definitely hit the spot. The crust is super yummy. Delicious pizza. Fun atmosphere.
Tanika Santos
Pizza was fantastic made fresh right in front of you. The most authentic I've had in a while. They were busy so we did have to wait a while but the staff was kind and attentive.
Matthew Drapach Noles
They have the best pizza in nashville! Woodgate so crisp crust! They have real cheese and real mozzarella and if you don't know what the real kind is you have never had pizza. They have had exceptional service through the whole pandemic even though they came to town right before the madness. I need to shout out Kylie who is an perfect example of customer service and good attitude. I will continue to recommend!
Robert Breton Phillips
So there's pizza that's eaten fast at home and that leaves us happy and full and then there's pizza we eat and life's worries fade away...well when you're eating the freshly baked pizza here at DeSano and then carry the left overs home you are treated to feelings off fullness, happiness and peaceful content.
Eric H
Try it, you will like it. And get an order of meatballs. Go to 16th st location if you can and not the food mall.
Andrea Cavatorta
The best pizza i have ate in nashville...good place, good peoples...
V. L. Mason
First visit, while visiting Nashville for Tennessee State Homecoming. Fresh, authentic, delicious, incredibly friendly! Our man ""Gato" prepared incredible woodfired pizza, calzone, and salads for our group of 10. Woodfired ovens kept at 900°F, are carved from stone from Mt. Vesuvious. Enough said! Will be back.again next visit, but hopefully this will send new friends to visit DeSano! #Nashville
Jasmine Miller
The pizza is great (especially the lasagna pizza) and I like the communal seating!
Zulema Marín
Pizza was very good. Salad was bad, but I came for the pizza. I would rerutn.
Julie Bachalis
This pizza is very tasty and authentic! However, it has gotten very expensive. I suppose the price reflects the location in a high rent part of town. Still— a bit more cheese would be appreciated for the extra dollars...
Brian Alexander
Amazing pizza. Truly remarkable.
The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because the bathrooms are shameful. You guys are charging $26 per pizza.. you should put some of that money into making acceptable facilities for your guests. Can’t believe they’re that bad.
Ed Murphy
Good pizza. Quick and entertaining to watch them toss the dough
Camila Teran
Quick and savory pizza! Delicious toppings and easy pick-up.
Vance Andersen
Best 🍕 I've had in years. It wasn't greasy cardboard like most of the chains, this was authentic and home-made. The cannolis were a little pricey, but they were good. …
Kenny Willenburg
Cool atmosphere and delicious pizza. Always a good experience!
Matt Adkins
Traditional Italian style pizza done so well. People talk about New York style vs Chicago, wait til you try traditional Italian!
Andrea Wu
Called before coming to ask about outdoor seating - there's one bench, no heat lamps. Came around 7PM on a weekday for dinner, ordered the San Gennaro since it was the cashier's favorite (and also all over Yelp), sat outside. Food came out on a metal plate, and it was really tasty! Crust was chewy, toppings were flavorful - really liked the peppadew (slightly sweet and spicy peppers), never had that on pizza before. Really enjoyed it!
Sandra Mc Kee
Loved it!. The pizza crust was nice and thin the way I like it. The toppings and cheese were so tasty, especially the Italian sausage. The sauce was just perfect not overwhelming. Sooo good. Staff were warm and welcoming.
sheila wood
Hands down the best Napoleon Pizza around. You couldn’t ask for a better quality of toppings and the dough is spot on. You never feel like blah after eating it like the rest of theses pizza places. DeSano has my vote for best pizza around. We drive 2 hours just to eat here.
Nick Vukmir
Fantastic pizza. Everything was super fresh and the cheese to sauce ratio was Superb. Favorite pizza I’ve had in Nashville so far.
Crust could have been slightly crunchier/firmer but all in all, amazing pizza.
Candace Armstrong
Excellent authentic pizza. Friendly folks and great food!
Mirian Kina
Very good Italian style pizza in wood oven. Nice service and staff as well.
William Roestel
Love Desano's! We ordered online on a cross country road trip to have it ready when passing through Nashville. We forgot the time change (arrived hour early)! They were very accommodating and got our pizza out in 10 minutes. Always a good choice.
Michelle Bradshaw Author
This was before my gluten free lifestyle change but Desano Pizza Bakery had really yummy pizza. It had a really nice atmosphere and a pleasant staff. It was a fun, little perk to be able to watch them make the food. If they offer gluten free I would definitely love to go back.
Christopher Tyler
Excellent Italian style pizza. Wood fired in brick ovens. One of the best pizza restaurants in Nashville.
Jimbo Collins
I effing love this place. I would fly back to Nashville just for this one restaurant. I wish I could just scoop up the entire building and bring it to my city!
Daniel Jou
Great pizza! Excellent service! Clean environment!
Brynn Thompson
Casual Neapolitan Pizza joint that serves up some great pies. It is self seating and you order at a register, which is unusual for the quality of pizza produced. Highly customizable menu and quality ingredients. Not the best Neapolitan pie I've ever had but a darn good one. Highly recommend; delicious
TJ Jones
First time!Meatballs =10! Pizza= 10!
Cant believe I've never eaten here before today🔥🔥🔥!!! Try the Genarro🍕 …
Aaron Falck
Quite simply put, the best pizza in town for traditional Italian pizza. Everything seems to be imported from Italy. The traditional ovens induce just a hint of bitter char to match the sweetness of the San marzano tomatoes in the sauce. There is a nice stretch to the scamorza and the meats are rich and flavorful. When I took my friend near closing time for his birthday, the staff was kind and courteous, even giving us a portion of the meal for free! Highly recommended.
Charles Ary
Best Neapolitan pizza I have had anywhere. The crust is just the right thickness and is not tough or crisp like most of this style. The toppings are all high quality with the buffalo mozzarella and sausage being standouts. They have added draft local beer to their offerings recently , adding to perfection. Two of the pizza makers there today were there the first time we went, shortly after they opened. That says a lot about the management and why the pizza is so good.
Christine Ford
Pizza good needed more basil. Guy at counter a little rough when asked questions like he was annoyed
Kristin Blackburn
We devoured our wood-fired, authentic Italian pizza! The crust and cheese was soooo delicious. Order in one, community seating in the other (no traditional wait service). We were confused about the process. Signs would help. Ask for paper plates unless you’re cool with eating right off of the enormous metal pan with your seat mates. A cook brings the pizza and then you’re on your own. High ceiling, warehouse atmosphere. Pricey but worth every penny!
Sean M
San Gennaro pie was excellent. Meatballs were tasty. Recommended.
Natasha S (Natasha82)
Excellent thin New York style pizza, loved it!
GingaNinja Racing
Very good pizza cooked in stone ovens right in line of sight. Awesome to watch. Only complaint is can't do more than I think 3 toppings and can't do a half and half pizza. Even though they're all hand made.
David Box
These guys can make some pies! Service and people are solid but the food is the star front and center. Pizzas are so good with the best crust anywhere. Open seating and the kitchen area are all together with 3 wood fired pizza ovens and pizza dough being tossed is fun.
Carson Denning
Great pie! Loved sitting and watching them make our pizza with love.
Elaine Wilder
The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu.
Jared Martin
My wife and I have been pretty lucky to be able to find the best pizza stop in each town we've traveled to and this is the one for Nashville. Amazing flavors and friendly staff. Plus you get to watch your pizza be made and thrown in the fire. Yes, FIRE!! My 3yo had the 9" and ate nearly the whole thing!! I can't recommend this place enough.
walt logan
It was me and my girlfriends first time here and Kathy took great care of us. HIGH Quality service, and very attentive. the pizza here is excellent. They also have a very nice bar area. Highly recommended if your not looking for you're typical pizza place.
Sam Lofland
The pizza is very good and the atmosphere is lively. While they use fresh ingredients, the margherita pizza isn't quite as good that from NYC
Timothy Nichols
Staff was friendly and helpful and the pizza was pretty awesome. We had the large lasagna pizza which is probably big enough for a family of 4. The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust was truly spectacular. This is more thin crust pizza so don't come here wanting Chicago style. I was also told by some locals that they allow you to bring in your own bottles of wine if you want. Can't beat that!
Arnold Kamler
i am the #1 fan of the pizza in the Charleston Airport but i had a very bad experience this past weekend at the store in Nashville. The dough was terrible. Perhaps a bad day. I was heartbroken as this is normally my favorite pizza in the whole world but yikes, this was dreadful. Out of respect for the great pizza i have had in the past i gave it 3 stars but that really is too generous for this past Saturday
Sarah P
Excellent authentic pizza. Awesome open seating concept. Friendly faces. Open kitchen to see your pie being made. Definitely top 3 pizza places in Nashville.
Christine LeFever
One of the best margherita pizzas we have had anywhere in the country. The crust is the perfect texture and delicious. This is the real deal.
Laura Birkofer
Best in town. Neopolitan wood fired pizza - as good as any in Italy. So delicious & family friendly too. They'll give the kids hunks of dough to play with as you wait. All of the pizzas are great but the San Gennaro is 🔥 …
YG Chow
Incredible flavors and creativity with the pizza. I will definitely be returning soon.

Well heck. This just got best pizza ever had vote from me and my bride. We eat pizza once a week and make sport of it trying to find best ones. The only other ones we argued might have possibly tied were the primo NY pizza spots. DeSano just did it. Pres should have given it at least a 9.1. :)
Keith Gates
Simply clean and tasty pizza with a vintage warehouse feel that easily satisfies.
Fred Kuechenmeister
Light, fluffy, tasty crust. Flavorful sauce and toppings. All around great pizzas. You'll walk out satisfied, and wanting to adopt a rescue dog! (Major props to the place for posting adoption candidates!)
Jay D
I’ve traveled extensively in my life and came across one of the best pies I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely say you can taste Italy here. They really have a nice touch on what they do best! Most places over do it with trying to be too this or that. They stuck to doing what they know and it shows. My only complaints was I ordered take out and the cashier told me to come in a half hour to pick up so by the time I got back to the apartment .5 miles away, the pies weren’t steaming hot. Although a good pizza, I don’t know anybody who likes cold pizza. I didn’t dine inside but from the looks, it was clean. Cashiers were super friendly and the pies were outstanding. Really wish I could give it a 5 star rating . However if your looking for pizzas this is the place! Just dine in if your going to check it out
Jim Falch
Attended a pre-wedding event at Delano. Pizza was among the best I ever ate and I've had pizza all over the world. Great combination of just the right mix of crusty chewy crust, mild sauce, and perfect toppings. The antipasti salad was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly!
Michael Wiseman
I got a 12’ Desano and it was soooooo good. After a long day outside at the race, I needed something to really hit the spot. We walked in, ordered, food came out, and I ate all but one piece. It was cooked well, cheese melted perfectly and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend checking out Desano’s pizza if you’re in the downtown area!
Jaime Espinosa
I loved loved loved this spot! Delicious! Wish we had one in Cali!!!
Arthur Mccray
I just tasted one of the Best pizzas I have ever eaten in my 40 years of life at this business. I ordered one of their specialty pizzas called the Lasagna and it had San Marzano tomato sauce, meatballs, ricotta, garlic, scamorza, mozzarella di bufala, pecorino romano. OMFG IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC for some reason Google won't let me add photos but it look as good as it tasted. Will definitely come back.
Chris Vicari
Best pizza in Nashville! You order upfront, sit in the back room and they bring out your pie a few minutes later. You get to watch them make everything and pull your pizza straight out of the wood fire ovens. All the ingredients are imported from Italy and you can tell, because they certainly taste better than what you get from most pizza shops around here. If you're looking for a good pie, this is your spot.
Alex Figu
Tasty pizza. Help bit disorganized. They need some system to tell them which tables get pizzas that the table ordered. Clean. Good selection of beers to go with the unique pizzas.
Barry Jover
Just a nice place to gather with friends and family and enjoy great pizza
Kim Wilde
Since I moved to Nashville from the Bay Area, CA I had yet to find pizza that measured up. So many chains. So many soggy crusts. So many boring toppings. Then I found DeSano! Delicious, authentic Italian pizza made in wood-burning ovens (which are fun to watch from open kitchen/dining area). Easy to get in and out even though close to downtown & Gulch. Great for groups and kids. The meatballs are amazing, too. So happy to have discovered DeSano.
Diane Capehart
Another great restaurant! We got 2 pizzas and a Calzone. Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! I took 5 year old Grandson up to watch pizza being made and they offered him pizza dough to play with. How very sweet! Give this one a try!
Elizabeth Nelson
This is my Nashville family's pizza source-- wonderful retro thin crust pizza topped with excellent quality ingredients-- to which we always treat ourselves when we visit. Try a "side" of their delicious meatballs with the herbed pizza dough baked in rounds and cut in quarters. Sounds like overkill...but you'll be glad you did!
Watson Ambruster
We ordered meatballs, pizza, and canoles. I really WANT to give DeSano a five, but the chef burned the pizza... not the normal edge burned crust that comes with an oven baked pizza, but an edge and bottom burn that leaves black on my tray and a burned taste in your mouth. The meatballs were delish... 5. The canoles earned a 5 as well. The pizza... 1. Sorry DeSano. I'll try you one time. If the pizza isn't burned, I'll change my review to a 5.
Mike
Three wood fired ovens. Amazing pizza
David Stevens
Excellent place!
While traveling through Nashville, we were hoping for a quick meal. Pizzas were out of the oven and delivered to our table almost immediately after we sat down. The pizza was delicious, the atmosphere is energetic, and the place is very clean and organized. Almost wished I lived in Nashville to be able to enjoy this place again.
Ryan Panchisin
I genuinely believe DeSano to be the best pizza in Nashville. As a transplant from the Philly area I can sincerely say that their Neapolitan is among the best I've ever had anywhere. Three giant wood-fired ovens feature prominently in their dining area, and all the ingredients are flown in weekly from Naples and Campania. If you're looking for the most authentic Neapolitan style pizza outside of Italy, look no further than DeSano.
Elizabeth Rice
We had a big party by current standards, but we were able to eat in nonetheless. The wait staff was very polite and patient with our group spread across several tables as we socially distanced. Pizza, salad and canolis were all delicious!
Meighan Pilleteri
Fantastic pizza with a fun, low-key atmosphere. Definitely a must when in Nashville.
James Azar
Great pizza spot. Service was great and pizza was good.
Jonah Wilkins
Enjoyed the kids with a pizza night and laughter !🤗Had a great time and the pizza was great. Kids loved it ✌️❤️🍕 …
Aemilia Hamel
DeSano makes the best pizza in Nashville. Fullstop.
They have long hours, delicious options, tons of space, a bar, an open kitchen, and pizza makers having a blast making your pizza right away in front of you. Kevin, one of pizza makers, is awesome. Everyone here had a great attitude!
The service is fast, genuine and friendly.
If you haven't stopped by here you're doing yourself a disservice. Go check them out.
Anita Horton
Ordered a pizza with mushrooms Italian sausage....best pizza I have ever eaten. Cannoli was freshly made, rich and not too sweet, perhaps also the best I have eaten! Good service (today mine was take out).
christine adamczyk
We live just outside of Nashville and picked up two pizzas on our way home. We are from the northeast and are unapologetically VERY picky about our pizzas. After a 35 minute drive home we popped the pizzas into a 400 degree oven per the instructions on the box and literally, five minutes later, the most delicious pizza!
Hannah Legate (thekarmakween)
Service was quick and the staff was very friendly, they checked to make sure the order was correct.
Bill Glasgow
Best pizza in town by far! Fresh ingredients served on a thin brick oven pizza crust. You can watch as the chefs make your food. Always a hit with out-of-town guests. Awesome service as well.
Ash Said It Media
I’m very particular when it comes to pizza. I only enjoy the most authentic fresh pies. I found it here! I was visiting on business and had the Margarita. It was light, flavorful and so filling. I haven’t had a pie this tasty in months. Talk about a taste of Italy! I was thoroughly impressed and will most def visit again next time I’m in Nashville! #ashsaidit
Nikki Dahlberg
We had some amazing pizza here. We were able to share 2 small pizzas with 3 adults. There was communal seating, but plenty of seating. We would be happy to come back to get pizza here from their wood fire ovens.
Virginia Dare
Best pizza in Nashville. Not much higher than the chains and well worth the extra two bucks. If you love NY style pizza, you will love Desano's. If you have kiddos with you, be sure and ask for a pan and a piece of dough. They will happily give it to your children so they can make their own pizza crust while you wait :) You will eat every crumb of this pizza...even the crust. It is that good!
Melissa Butts
Such great pizza! We are at the table outside.
B AC
The food here is fantastic! We had a nice long walk from the city to get here and it was totally worth it. They serve alcohol, have fantastic pizza, and a wonderful atmosphere. The large family style seating in the main area seemed to have things quite crowded. If the main area is full, then try walking around the corner to the bar area. It was nice and quiet in the bar area with plenty of open tables and some TVs at the bar. Enjoy!
Scott Mayberry
I'm a Nashville native, but just discovered DeSano Pizza. Had a great family brunch on Sunday, complete with 4 grandchildren 8 years old and under. We not only got to watch the pizzas as they were made, but the kids were given small lumps of the dough to make their own "pizza" while we were waiting for food. The food was great, both pizza and salads. Plenty of choices, helpful staff, pleasant environment. Thanks!
Liam Frost
This place has some amazing pizza! It's typically ready in only a few minutes, and still comes out great! Everytime I've eaten here it's been great. I suggest take a trip here at least once if you go through Nashville for any reason, and want some quick and good food.
Ryan Russell
The pizza itself gets 5 stars!!! Great Neapolitan style, brick oven pizza. The reason for the overall 4 star rating is because on a Friday night, with 400 plus people in the restaurant, the wait for your pizza is 90 minutes. If you want your pizza quick, don't make the mistake me and my friends did and go on a Friday night. This place has been found out, and for good reason.
Craig Redman
Fantastic pizza. Meatballs are phenomenal. Wait staff offered suggestions as we were desano 1st timers. They stepped up 2 plate now we're hooked. Great job. We will return
Lyle Fellows
Great pies, very authentic to what I've had many times abroad. Only downside I find is that their main dining room (where they make the pizzas in front of you) doesn't have any windows. Made up for by the fact that they offer bring your own wine.
Richard Schrade
Best pizza in Nashville (5 points is a close 2nd). Fresh ingredients and awesome atmosphere. Great price too.
Ashley Heslop
First time guest and the experience was outstanding! The staff is kind and goes above and beyond and the food was incredible.
Craig mccutchen
This place was amazing. It is exactly what i had been hoping for. It is a food driven place. If you like crisp clean sharp
Edges this is not the place for you. That said if you like real fresh basil beautiful sweet cherry peppers amazing dough real wood fired flavor pizza run don’t walk to this place. Freakin amazing. Best 50.00bucks spent in a really long time. Thank you for the experience.
Mark McElroy
We had a very nice experience at this Nashville location of a small, nationwide chain. The open kitchen affords lots of opportunities to see your pie being tossed, topped, and baked, and the end result -- pretty good pie, with near-perfect crust and fairly generous toppings -- satisfied everyone at the table. While there, we had the opportunity to see a manager stop a pizza on its way to the customer; the pie, it seemed, wasn't round and well-balanced enough to meet quality standards. It was good to see people taking that kind of pride in their work. Recommended.
Mandy Johnson
The service was quick and so was the pizza. This was my first time with this style of pizza. We liked it but weren't blown away. Not sure we'd come to Nashville (from Murfreesboro) specifically for it, but we'd come again if we were in the area!
UB Lopez
Amazing pizza, so fresh and the choices are simple and well done. May be the best pizza in Nashville. From the first bite you can taste the freshness of the ingredients and each subsequent bite is even better. Can't wait to go back and try a few more things. We had the margharita pizza and an order of their meatballs. Each dish proved to be fresh and well done. They also give you bread and complimentary olive oil and spices as you choose, don't miss the spice bar over by the people making the pizza.
e t
Bang for the buck, this place is just okay. Parking is sometimes tough because its lot is small, and there's not many free options nearby. The food is good but expensive for pizza. The bar-side dining room smells like parmesan cheese and yeast. And depending on the day, it gets very loud. Overall, I'd rather eat comparably good pizza for less money at Two Boots (down the street). Or, I'd rather go drinking somewhere else. Not bad as a spot for decent drinks and good food in the same place. But not convenient and slightly over-priced.
Christopher “czar” Smith
Excellent pizza, this was my second time here. Interesting that they have pepper, salt, garlic, parm cheese, olive oil, chilli oil, and balsamic oil as options to pick up for your pizza.
Laura Miller
Really a treat, decided to give this place a try as it came up as a suggestion on Google maps near our hotel in Nashville. The pizza was fantastic! Loved watching the crew swing the dough while waiting! The caprese salad was delicious too! Highly recommend if in the area!
Hossein Alimohammadi
Good place for gathering together, I tried this and I liked it
Tresebabe
I loved this place so much. Authentic and fresh food, spices, beer and awesome open atmosphere. My son and I loved watching the pizzas being made and cooked. The pizza Baker's were nice and friendly. I could go here every week! Lots of class! 😏 …
Matthew Scheurer
Awesome pizza restaurant with original Neapolitan style pizza. They have 3 huge wood fire grills inside where you can watch them prepare your pizza. They also have Mexican Coca-Cola which is a more sugary version of standard Coca-Cola and it is delicious! The only slight downfall is that they have picnic table seating where you might get stuck sitting next to another group at the same long table. That can be easily overlooked though when it comes to the great pizza that they have. Definitely one of the best pizza restaurants in Nashville. Don't miss out!
Preston Shaffer
Some of the best pizza in town. Great atmosphere, especially for a group. Good beer selection is a bonus since the sauce is already primo!
We took a bunch of middle school boys for a bday, but the highlight was one of the cooks giving my 4yo a dough ball for her to practice with... She did not want to leave!
Erica Bottger
Fantastic fire oven pizza! Lots of lovely Italian flavors and Italian radio on in the background makes it a really fun place to eat. I've only been during off hours. They have long community style tables and some smaller tables perfect for groups, board games, or (If they're busy) rubbing elbows with strangers. If you aren't a fan of basil, you might find it overpowering. For someone who doesn't think basil tastes like soap, this is in my top favorite pizza places.
Gus Palacio
Fantastic spot for even better pizza. The atmosphere is great and welcoming and you get to see the pizza being made. The pizza is phenomenal and everything that you could ever want.
Matthew “Matt S”
The pizza was really awesome. We got a few beers and everything was really great. The pizza come out perfectly doughy and hot. The menu prices was a little bit confusing but since I was just visiting the area I figured it might have been me. They could probably do something to make it a little more apparent
Ravpreet Gill
I am staying on Demonbreun Street and while that and nearby Division Street have plenty of places if you like loud music or just want to drink/smoke, I wanted a simple meal in a place that was quieter. This restaurant had good reviews. Their beer seems like comes in plastic cups and the soda in glass bottles. It was nice to watch the workers make the pizza while I sat at a long table in the communal dining room. You are given a number when you order and they call it out when the pizza is ready and bring it to you. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because of expensive drink refills. I was judicious with my beverage drinking.
Samantha Hayworth
The people were great! The food and smells were beyond delicious! I wish there was one close to my home in Indiana. Guess I'll have to make a good drive for some amazing pizza because it's worth it!
Asaph Cueto
It doesn’t get any better than Desanos in Nashville. If you’re looking for a traditional Italian pizza that tastes like and even better than if you were in Italy, here’s the place for you. 90% ingredients flown in from Italy. That should tell you all you need to know about their craft. Must visit for any and every pizza lovers.
E. J. L
The pizza is ridiculously good, and I suppose that is all that matters. I am just not crazy about the communal seating. It is a great option if you are coming with a large group, but if you are coming with 1-2 other people you always get stuck next to annoying people you don't know. It is nice you can bring your own wine. I wish they had larger water glasses that you didn't have to fill up yourself at a drinking fountain.
J
Not very good in my opinion. Pizza was way under cooked for this style off pizza.
Rachel
I love DeSano’s pizza, probably one of my fave in Nash. Back before COVID, their unique free seating style was always fun with friends. BYOB with ID as well. Highly recommend
Aaron Maccaro
My wife has been to Italy and says this is the closest pizza to what she had over there. It really is amazing. The atmosphere is very cool. One dining room is where you can watch them prepare and cook the pizza and the back dining room is the bar with several TVs. They have
K
The pizza here was ridiculously delicious, with delightfully deep basil flavor. The decor is bland if that bothers you (I didn't mind it at all) but happily it is super roomy. The pizza is nicely thin but it didn't have quite enough crispness to it...that may have just been a fluke though. We have only been once and would definitely like to go again.
Edit: I've been again. The pizza was as good as remembered, but juuust crispy enough, so that's awesome. I genuinely long for this pizza, haha. Now, it isn't exactly cheap? But for a nice outing and a pizzagasmic experience, I would absolutely recommend this place.
Mike B
Great authentic flat crust pizza. This is one of the best pizza places where I have eaten. Crust was thin and fluffy. My only complaint is that the pizza I had said prosciutto, but it was simply sliced black forest ham. I was expecting authentic prosciutto. Other than that, great pizza.
Cristah Artrip Prost
Desano Pizza Bakery has incredibly good pizza and makes a great place for casual dining. I gave this restaurant four stars for the following reasons: sometimes the wait time on pizza can be long, as well as a high turnover of staff resulting in mediocre service. The location can be a little challenging to navigate off the traffic circle, but the pizza does make it worth it.
Aly
After spending time in Italy, this is the closest thing to authentic Italian pizza I've found! It's truly the best pizza in Tennessee. My family & friends & I will drive an hour to Nashville just for this pizza sometimes. We've been coming here for years. The atmosphere is warm & lively, and we love watching the chefs prepare the pizzas in the open kitchen. The staff is always so friendly, and every experience here has truly been worthwhile and worth the money.
P.S. - Try the chocolate & banana pudding gelato!
J Richard
This place is usually rated really high for best pizza parlors in nashville. It was definitely good, although I wouldn't say the best. I could tell the ingredients were fresh, as they should be for the price. Nothing stood out as amazing, like Five Point's garlic knots, or mafia'oza's sweeter tasting crust. This is a place to come to if you want very fresh carefully cooked pizza.
She_ Just_iss
In my top 3 pizza places in Nashville. Consistent quality, have never been disappointed. Not sure why, but the bar was closed the nite we went. You can bring in a bottle of wine still, I think. The worst part of eating at DeSano is the crowd. It's always crowded and finding a seat can be difficult. And that's a great problem for a restaurant to have. I usually opt for to go, but lately have had trouble getting an answer when I try to phone in.
Ry McCoy
Hands down, the best pizza I've ever eaten! And trust me I'm a big eater, and I'm a hard critic when it comes to pizza. The quality, the flavor, it's a must try if your in Nashville!
Jeff Weaver
We discovered DeSano a few years ago on a trip to Nashville and now make a point of dining there every time we pass through town. Fresh ingredients, wood fired ovens, casual college-neighborhood vibe. Great for families and large groups. If you love pizza, but don’t love chain restaurants, you won’t be disappointed at DeSano.
m4lfuncti0n
Service is always on point and the food is amazing, made with authentic fresh ingredients to order, and usually quick!
Gary B
This place has some of the best true Italian-style pizza I've ever had, and that's coming from a Jersey-born-and-raised (although admittedly not Italian) absolute pizza lover. I've been a handful of times and they've hit it out of the park every time. They are a little pricey but spend a little extra for a bottle of wine and watch them bake your pizza like magicians. Highly recommended!
Steve Harford
I like it. Not gonna say best pizza in town but it's pretty good. What makes it the place to be is if people want to go out for awhile, drink their own wine that they brought, eat good pizza, and have a nice atmosphere that is an easy walk to many nightlife places.
James Little
Found by lucky accident. Good pizza, very family oriented, everyone was having fun.
All they have is pizza and it's good.
Heidi Mathisen Smith
This is the best pizza in Nashville. The restaurant has little to no ambiance, but the pizza is so good that you routinely see people there in formal attire. The main dining room is a large noisy room with big wooden benches. They opened a second room that was supposed to be for the grown ups, but it was over run with a toddler birthday party the last time we went, but that's the only downside. We love The Desano pizza! The ingredients are not only fresh, but they are also brought straight from Italy. There is a beautiful irony in the chaotic environment with a pizza that is such a perfect experience that it makes everything else melt away.
Lauren Griffin
I first found DeSano’s in LA so I was so happy to find out that they started it all in Nashville! I’ve tried the Napoletana, the DeSano, the white pizza and the Traditional potato pizza and all were top notch. The meatballs are tender, super saucy and flavorful. The cheesy garlic bread is also delicious. Every visit is always on point. Communal tables and an open kitchen make for an intimate and relaxed space. Hands down the best Neapolitan I’ve experienced.
CARLOS B
Not sure why is ranked among the best 3 pizza places in Nash. Coming from the east coast, NY/NJ I find the quality and taste of this pizza place is average...

Our visit DeSanos tonight started well with a warm welcome by the staff. As time went on it became clear there had been a mix up with our order. A great thanks to the team and Crystal specifically for turning everything around and delivering a fantastic, delicious meal. I highly recommend a visit for excellent service and what this Jersey guy believes is one of the best pizzas in town.
Aurora Covington
It is a family friend places that allows you to bring your own wine (BYOW). Even though the prices can be a bit above average they are well worth it. The seating is find a seat where you can. They have long picnic type table with bench seating. They have a separate bar area as well. My favorite thing about my visit was the friendly staff, the family fun environment, and the delicious pizza and garlic cheesy bread. Least favorite things about this wonderful place is the $10 cork fee, the fact that they don't have a sign for complimentary valet parking (ended up paying $13 to park) , and the seating can be a bit frustrating. However I would totally recommend giving this authentic place a try!
Emily Biagini
Honestly, this pizza was just okay. The attraction is to see the pizza being made, but once it gets to the table... I wasn't impressed. Appetizers (meatballs, charcuterie) were average. Very loud and laid back atmosphere, which is fine, but nowhere I'd go for a special night out.
Marissa Young
This place is Fantastic! We are in Nashville for the night for a doctor's appointment for my daughter. Finding a kid friendly place is sometimes challenging but this place was a win all the way around!!! It was so good my kids loved seeing them cook. And the food was perfect!!!
Elizabeth Lopez
Food was awesome!! My only suggestion is the menu needs to reflect their "new" prices. How do i know, as a new customer, the cashier isn't adding "their/her" tip and telling me " they've changed their prices." I need to see it on the menu. The menu was showing $18 something and the cashier tells me," oh sorry, that should be $25, we've changed our price." Other than that, i liked the atmosphere.
Althea Sickel
These guys went above and beyond for our dinner party on my friends birthday. Excellent service, delicious authentic Italian pizza (best in Nashville 👌). I will def be back! …
Brad Smith
Ok pizza..kinda weird place... I guess if you're a college student it would be fine.. would not take a date ever!
Devon Henson (DshWow)
First time trying this location and will certainly be coming back! Loved the wood-fired flavor along with the really tasty toppings. Enjoyed the atmosphere and can't forget the friendly staff!
Jane Yackley
Fun atmosphere and delicious pizza. You're practically able to see the whole pizza process from your seat. You can bring your own wine or choose from a selection of beverages at the counter. Great place for a casual meal.
C 4
They have complimentary valet, which I would prefer to park my own car.
When you walk in, you order first and can't see the dining area. I always prefer being served from the table but it was different.
There was a strange funky smell I wasn't sure what it was upon entry.
I would fix that if I were them.
People were very nice. Food was very fresh.
If getting the calzone or pizza I would recommend an extra minute cook just my preference.
Both my kids (10 and 9 year olds) had their own small pizza and ate it all.
It was cool to see the pizza makers tossing the pizza dough in the air.
Setting is like you were in Napoli.
Big tables you can share with strangers. Loud. Lots of smiles amongst the groups.
We didn't check out the bar, it's in another area.
Tarek Safieh
Great environment and delicious PIZZA! Highly recommend!
Chris Ried
Some of my finest pizza in Nashville. Desano's prides in using Italian ingredients for all their pizzas which would leave any a native from Italy proud. One can even watch the pizza being made. The seating with long tables and benches which reminds me more of a German bierhaus.
CHILJ75
The pizza was great but the whole place was reserved and a lot of walk in customers had to eat outside. A couple of other parties, who sat outside with us, said that they had tried to reserve tables in the past and were told that they didn't do reservations. Either way, the pizza was worth eating outside.
Laura Thompson
This is probably my favorite pizza in Nashville. It's kid friendly (at least during the day when we go) and my husband loves it too. We go at least twice/month. We always get the Margherita DOP and add mushrooms and pepperoni. It's light and non-greasy. To be honest, I'm not crazy about the ambiance with the long picnic tables, plastic cutlery, and lack of individual plates. Atmospheres like that usually make me feel uncomfortable. However, the food here is so good I look forward to going.
Tammy Wines
Great pizza. We got the DeSano and Bianca. Both were amazing. They also have little 2 oz cups of fresh chopped garlic, red pepper flakes and spicy oil to add. That spicy oil was really good! 2 greasy pizza thumbs up, definitely would go back. Also, they don't keep the outside light on at night, at first we thought they were closed and almost kept driving.
Jennifer Steen
The pizza is delicious every time. My favorite is the San Gennaro. It's bring your own wine, no corking fee. The family style seating accommodates both large and small parties. Great place for a fun dinner.
Robert Simpson
My friend and I had the desano pizza. 23,75.
The pizza was great regardless of the issues.
Toppings were sparce. No garlic? No parm?
Small amount of cheese. I don't like a ton of stuff on the pizza. But the should be enough cheese to be called one. I watched them make it. It came very quickly. It wasn't hot?
Obviously they let it rest. Strange but no big deal. Very friendly staff. They did have a station with olive oil, garlic, parm. So I fixed it.
Going back I will order extra cheese. Cafeteria style. Interesting. No music?
Mark k
All ingredients appear to be fresh. The chefs are also amazing and appear to be happy. Pizza is cooked in wood burning ovens that are located in the dinning room. They have a dipping station where you create your own dips. From what I can tell there is no fountain soda but there is soda in a bottle. I am unsure if alcohol is served here.
Zach Akers
Their pizzas are really good. Brick oven style with many options to choose from. Prices are reasonable. I would recommend trying any and everything I have had here. The cannoli's aren't too bad eithet.
T G
Great pizza with a nice open atmosphere and tons of seating. We often have birthday dinners or big group get togethers here. It’s a really great place, Nashville staple in my opinion.
Damian Maseda Caballero
If you like thin crust pizza that is quite close to what you can get in Italy, this is for sure the place. Best pizza in town for me and a bunch of people I know. Lines can be looking, especially on weekends. But they have plenty of room to accommodate large groups.
Jonathan Holland (Jonny)
Very good quality pizza. NY style. I recommend asking for extra sauce and cheese because it tends go come a tad light. Very good all around though. And they have TVs playing sport games so that's good. They also serve pretty good wine. Solid choice for an evening out.
Sharon Murry
The pizza was fine but it is usually better. The crust was very soft. We were told that the oven temp had dropped and that is why it wasn't crispy. The service was exceptional.
Vivian Katz
The verdura pizza was delicious as was the spinach salad. The wine and beer selection was good also. The seating is family style with big long tables. The pizza and salad were both delivered very quickly. Highly recommended for great food .
Abdul Acan
I've visited this restaurant 2 times so far. I realized that I have not been eating pizza since I was born. This is something else. No Papa Johns anymore unless there is no choice. This experience can not be explained with words. Everyone has a different taste of course. Here is the list that made me leave this feedback:
Woodburning pizza oven imported from Italy, 3 of them!
Fresh thin crust dough
I guess they are using organic vegetables or I was charmed. Tomatoes and fresh basil was incredibly tasty
Cheese was so delicious. Usually chain restaurant pizza cheeses makes me feel like throwing up after the 3rd slice. I was able to eat 11" pizza myself and that was filling.
Crispy dough which I like the best and so hot right out of the oven.
Sides are vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic and parmesan cheese.
I can say that this is the first pizza ever impressed me. I would never think that a pizza would impress me this much. Even in a busy time, you get your pizza in less than 15 minutes. This is my only favorite pizza shop now.
Kristina Honsted
The pizza was excellent. Love a good food fired pizza. Atmosphere was good. The caprese salad wasn't what I thought it was going to be based on the menu. The woman's bathroom needed attention. The staff was friendly.
Jessica Claybrook
The pizza is always delicious. I removed a star because their phone is hardly ever connected, which makes phone ordering impossible.
Ben Boyd
The pizza is really good. All the ingredients are fresh and the meats are of high quality. They also serve wine. Keep in mind the pizza is pricier than average and I am not a fan of the pizza coming out on a sheet pan.
John Keymer
Pizza was ready super fast and delicious!
amy oakes
Excellent FAST service and the food was great
Clif Dickens
Hands down best pizza place in Nashville. Fresh ingredients cooked in a brick oven make the pizza juicy, not greasy. It actually tastes like Italian pizza instead of New York style. You'll probably hear all about it, but Five Points Pizza doesn't hold a candle to this place.
Marc Bowman
Wood fired ovens + fresh ingredients = great pizza. Large wide open dining room with picnic tables and a number of televisions on the wall. Young after work crowd and Vanderbilt students. It's the place to go for pizza and a beer, or wine. What's not to like? The noise. You will have to raise your voice and read lips if you want to converse on a crowded evening. Otherwise, not a thing.
Omid Aslani
You will absolutely love the Pizza here.
3 wood stove ovens.
Fresh ingredients.
Lots of garlic and caramelized onions.
Crunchy yet soft crust - just perfect.
Cool people.
You will Love it - guaranteed!
Shin Bone
This has got to be the best pizza place in Nashville, Tn. Would never know it by the outside how this is a hidden gem. Cannot wait to come back and eat here again. Thank God I do not live in Nashville or I would end up eating here every night.
Emily Misner
I had a bit of an issue when I came to this restaurant for my first time. It took 45 minutes to get my one pizza. I think the kitchen forgot because I had to talk to a waitress and she had to talk to the cooks. After waiting all tht time, it turns out the Diavolo pizza was worth the wait. I was disappointed this was my experience for my first visit but the food was delicious.
Bobby Robinson
One of the best Neapolitan Pizzerias in Nashville
Jay Klinger
This pizza is amazing with ingredients from Italy. But you pay for it. Over $20 for a small 6 piece with a 20oz bottle of soda. I won't eat here often but would spoil yourself every once in a while.
Angela Youngblood
Great staff amazing food wonderful management and owners really down to earth staff more like a big happy family.and all ingredients come from Italy even the flour that the dough is made with by far the best pizza ever tasted in my lifetime
Marcie Ackerman
Second time coming...can't wait to come back! This place is amazing!
Chris Lindsay
Seriously great pizza. We went for a birthday party for a friend so we sat in the bar area. The pizza's were delivered fast (20 mins) which was surprising since we ordered 7 different pizzas. I personally had the Margarita and San Gennaro. Definitely be back.
Amanda Cartwright
Best pizza in Nashville. Guy named Josh helped me at the one in Bellvue making sure I understood the process and told me all about the restaurant. Wish more places had such a hard working caring employees.
It's me
I lived 2 years in Italy and when I walked in, ordered my pizza, then started eating it, the delicate flavor, perfect texture, and amazingly delightful smells brought me back. It was so legit I was thinking about it in Italian. If you think Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa John's, or Little Ceasar's is good, you're wrong. Try this place before you regret not living a fulfilling life. Grazie mille!
Jamie Longworth
A friend of mine was in Bellevue and she wanted wood fired pizza. I told her i didn't know of a place in Bellevue but suggested we go to One Bellevue Place and check it out. We found DeSano's Pizza and they are wood fired pizza! This was the best pizza we've ever had! We complimented the chef and he explained how most of the fresh ingredients came from Italy. We ended our visit trying the cannoli and loved it too. We have a new favorite restaurant and can't wait to try the other items on the menu! Thanks to Chris and his team for providing a great and delicious experience! Chris even encouraged us to try the other great restaurants in the Bellevue One complex. Who does that nowadays? I've never experienced anything like this. I'll be back!
Phillip Sholes
Remains my #1 or #2 pizza place to visit. Yes this includes NYC and Italy. Lately management has made some poor choices in changing the BYOW policy that has helped make this place great. Thy are also taking large reservations and booking tables with little thought to the fact that their patron's won't have a place to sit. Guess what? They can make this major mess ups and their pizza still kicks butt! It would be nice if management or ownership takes notice, drops the BYOW corkage fee newly added and addresses their poorly managed seating practices. I'll keep flying back to Nashville and even sometimes just to bring friends to this Pizza place. Yes you have detracted from my experience with your new changes but man oh man good thing your pizza just stays so great, reproducible, and top notch with incredibly well executed. Never disappointed by the pizza, only the management or ownership.
Melissa Kaatman
Definitely good, but not amazing. We try to find the best pizza in every place we visit and while the pizza here is pretty solid, it's not the best I've had. My standards are high because I'm from a great pizza city, St. Louis!
Will Wharton
Quickly became our favorite pizza place in Nashville. The pizzas are wonderful, the meatballs hit the spot, and the best part is bringing your own wine. Can't beat it! Everytime we have visitors, we take them to DeSano.
Zach S
If you want great pizza it's here. But if you want to be uncomfortable while you eat then this is your place. Kelsey the bartender was the most unpleasant bartender I've ever encountered. Don't come here unless you want to be death stared while you eat. Seriously who hired someone as sour as her?
Jason Maynard
Very neat place with traditional pizza ovens. They were brought in from Italy and had to lowered into the building through the roof during construction. Non-traditional toppings, but just ask for what you want; even if you don't see it on the menu they can make most things.
Amanda Garcia
This place is amazing! The food is the freshest ever and they bake their pizza and calzones in authentic wood-fired ovens. The staff is incredible. Hand down, my favorite pizza in all of middle Tennessee!
Cathy
Good food. A little on the expensive side. Love this place for the oils and seasonings you can add yourself, because it’s BYOWine, and for the desserts. Nutella Pizza, Y’all. At busy times parking is a bear. If their free lot is full, there’s valet or a lot across the street but it’s too pricey for me. If your able to drive around the block there’s some street parking if you don’t mind walking. This place is also great for take out or order in through one of the many food delivery app. Nice food and even more so I always associate this place with good times with good friends over good pizzas.
Notthereal jw
Best pizza in Nashville. The Diavola is amazing. Highly recommend this place
Ash Kuhl
Delicious. Diavolo pizza is wonderful. Very open seating. Great for large groups. BYO-wine aspect was great. Have been many times and will continue to come. Prices are higher probably due to downtownish location but not terrible.
Corey DeRosa
This pizza tastes like pizza from Italy. Mouth watering flavor and at a decent price. The cannolli was sweet and authentic. This is my favourite pizza place in Nashville so far.
Andy Colley
Desanos has got one of the best pizzas in town. Great service and very big dine in area with another side as a bar/party area. Pizza is authentic and good drink selections. If you like pizza don't pass this one up
Katie Todd Bryant
I love this place. Their pizza is some of the best in Nashville, and this place is especially great for accommodating large groups. They have low and high top tables where is trees you to walk around and y’all to your group.
Rob Ainbinder
On the hunt for authentic Neapolitan pizza in Nashville, we left the hustle of Broadway to find DeSano nestled near Music Row. Our Caprese salad and pepperoni pizza were served fresh and quickly. They definitely know their pizza. We really wanted just some Caprese but, settled for the additional spinach. Total for pizza, salad plus a beer and some wine landed us at the $50 mark. The restaurant setup is a little odd. Upon entering you order and pay. Then, around a wall is the dining room, kitchen, dough proofing room and office. All in all a solid pizza. Great service. Worth the ride from any where in Nashville.
Gloria Roost
I absolutely loved this place!!! I've looked Nashville over with a fine tooth comb and have found the best pizza place hands down! You walk in and place your order with a cashier get your number pick a seat and they bring you your pizza. I ordered the San Gennaro which has these little sweet peppadew peppers placed all over it with bufala mozzarella I died!!! So yummy. Will definitely be back!
Emily Pavuluri
Normally like DeSano, if you can order there and sit down. If you order online or through DoorDash, they always get the order wrong, or it is delayed and you end up with a soggy pizza. Can never get them to pick up the phone either.
Stewart Fey
Went for lunch...this is a no frills, group seating place. The pizza is very good but understand that the service and layout is bare bones. Pricier than most pizza joints, you are paying for the hip reputation. I'd go back.
Austin B
Excellent spot for dates or group dinners. The pizza is great and not too expensive, and the ability to bring your own wine is a huge bonus! The view of downtown out of the bar area is awesome
Hay C
Staff is ALWAYS friendly no matter what time you show up even if it's 30 before close. Does not go unnoticed. Food is phenomenal.
Ric Rini
My experience was just pretty average pizza.
The place is pretty huge with two sides to the "L" building so if one area looks crowded do not give up make sure you try the second side ( the bakery side gets much more business - it's the bar side that's usually slower). It's a nice space that can accommodate large parties/families and makes for a great spot to gather with a large group.
We ordered the CAPRICCIOSA large size. The crust was okay, not as firm and crispy as I would have liked. The ingredients placed on the pizza were random and sparse and that goes for all of them ( san Marzano tomato sauce, mushrooms, artichokes, prosciutto, garlic, scamorza, mozzarella di bufala, pecorino roman) - I almost forgot it was served with mushrooms and artichokes because it was not until slice number three that I found them. Two of the most most disappointing aspects of the pizza was the quality of the prosciutto, which to me tasted like watered down boiled ham and the pizza sauce which was bland and watery.
A redeeming part of the experience was the service, which was friendly, helpful, courteous very attentive and professional. A nice touch to a very average eating experience.
Not sure if it might have been an off day for them but for my experience they did not live up to all ratings and hype.
Scott Bauske
Awesome pie! We had meatballs as an appetizer, followed by a small special and it was definatly one of the best pizzas I have had in a while. If you in Nashville try this place.
J C
Hands. Down. Best. Pizza. In. Nashville. We live in Nashville and have been to EVERY pizza place in the city. It’s all in the dough and their topping ratio. Also BYOB FYI. You can also buy a dough ball for homemade pizza.
Rachel Laferty
The food was fabulous and always but the staff was definately off. When we arrived the girl at the front was sullen and slightly rude. The phone kept ringing and you would have thought it was the end of the world complete with eye rolls. She barely spoke to us and a smile was definately too much to ask for. Later during it meal she was carrying pizza boxes to the back and was just depressing to be around. Additionally one of the pizza guys complained list to his Co worker about fair treatment the whole time we were there. Not there best showing
Art A
The set up is unusual for Nashville, you order, pay, and then are brought your order. It is BYOB wine or whatnot. The pizza ovens are exactly like the ones I saw in Napels Italy. The pizza has amazing thin crust and a great selection of toppings. Parking is tight but they have valet.
Matthew Sullivan
Watch your pizza be made as you sit and visit with friends and family!
Love this place. It has no pretension, just the priority of getting amazing pizza to the customers straight out of the oven! The ingredients are all fresh and tasty, and its a blast to watch the guys behind the counter toss the dough and shoot the breeze. Its noisy and fun, there are a couple of tv's, usually tuned to a soccer match. Get a glass of wine and enjoy the proceedings! And order the sausage :)
stylesz Smith
It was great tasting food. I would suggest having metal cutlery. It's better for the environment and it actually works for cutting your food. Also you can see from my picture the Gigiotto Calzone that I got is a bit burnt. Maybe try to be consistent with cooking. But overall, aside from that, I liked the taste and the ingredients seemed very fresh. Also It was a good atmosphere, small but nice inside.
Todd Anderson
Wood Fire Stove baked pizza. Very tasty. Ultra thin crust with a floury grit on the underside. Very quick to get order complete. Would recommend to others.
Jon Wright
My girl brought home a capricciosa pizza and it was great! Very authentic crust and delicious sauce with quality toppings. Plus they have a dessert pizza that's basically nutella on a pizza crust
Heather J
We usually love Desano's but tonight seemed to lack quality. I ordered a Desano and Nutella dessert pizza for pick-up. We arrived on time for pick up. The Desano was cold and the Nutella pizza seemed to be old or previously frozen. The crust was so crunchy it was hard to eat. After warming tbe Desano up at home, it was delicious as usual but we were very disappointed with the Nutella pizza. It would have been great if it were fresh.
Brooke Anderson
Desanos is our favorite pizza joint in Nashville! We come at least twice a month. Saturday night is our night to indulge and we are always welcomed by Kyrstal at the bar. She is extremely friendly and very customer centric. We always request her if possible!
Zach Ferrell
Nashville has several great pizza experiences in town. DeSano's is a killer pizza spot in a city with a lot of competition.
Pizza Napolitano is the style of pizza they make at DeSano's and they know what they are doing. For those of you who do not know, the Pizza Napolitano style involves using a very specific group of ingredients and cooking method(wood fired oven) so that this pizza is very consistent no matter where you go. It is the different toppings and combinations of topping that makes each place stand out.
DeSano's is very particular about certain pizzas on the menu. They will not substitute ingredients. My advice is find a different pie and experience the pizza they want you to try. My favorite is Pizza Diavola.
They did a great job with the decor and feel of this restaurant. The three ovens are the focus when you walk into the dining area. They are truly the stars of the show. The tables are arranged so that patrons sit on benches together similar to a beer garden setting. It also reminds me of the communal feeling of a cafeteria or a family reunion. I love eating there in a group.
You are missing out if you have not tried their pizza. Go get one today.
Chris Fehrmann
This pizza style is something that I have only found in Phoenix until now. It has a chewy but crisp crust, authentic sauce and cheeses and unique topping combos. You will never look at pizza the same again.
Zach White
DeSano's has become our GO-TO pizza in Nashville for the past 4 years now. Love it! Quick easy and amazing crust. I love the Desano pizza with a side of fresh basil I tear on top.
Dan Schweikhard
Amazing pizza. Very authentic Italian. Picnic style tables inside. You can bring your own bottle of wine. There is a station to make your own dip with olive oil, balsamic oil, parmesan, diced garlic, salt, pepper, ect.
m c
I'm Italian I have been there and I can say it's look like a real Italian pizza!!!😍 …
kenji steakster
Pretty good, but way overpriced. Some of the pizzas are kind of out there so if you are not an adventurous eater, be careful what you order. The crust is my favorite part.
Darwin Eldridge
It was okay. I probably will not return unless with a group as I was on this visit. Pizza was okay. Service was okay; I suspect they are plagued by availability of jobs. No one wants to work. Service was slow and we were warned.
Myrna Baida
Their caprese salad was amazing!! And huge!!! Their margherita pizza was incredible. We brought our own wine and enjoyed it all. My friends and I were visiting Nashville for the weekend. We all loved it!!
Matthew Rogers
If you have kids, ask for dough to play with. Order anything on the menu and you will be happy. Great parking and not far from bars. Second best pizza in Nashville (I think)
David Prieto
Yeah let’s just say if I’m in Nashville this is the place I have to go eat at! Thin crust well done! Cool and unique set up and atmosphere. Feels almost like you are in Italy for a little bit!
deaconj
Service was great. Food was good. We ordered (2) 9 inch should have ordered bigger one and done half and half would have been cheaper. Good place to try but for us it will be only this one time.
susan guignard
Great food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere!
Andrew Clancy
This place is fantastic, one of the few pizza places I actually crave. I've always experienced a friendly staff and great product. Because of the common sounding name, I think the one and two star reviews might be confused with another place.
Jake Vellinga
Awesome pizza and environment! Very family friendly! My kids love coming here, and we are treated so well by the staff. I don't know which is better, the service or the food
Gary Lancaster
Solid and unique pizza joint. The dining area features a great view of the pizza ovens. Creates a cool vibe that I haven't seen any where else. Pizza is awesome too!
jonsay241
Pizza was fresh, great service we loved the pizza. If we are in Nashville ever in Nashville again we would definitely go back here. It’s a most try if you are Nashville and in the mood for pizza. Great find!
Macklin Chaffee
Great open seating vibe. Very tasty thin crust pizza with all the fixings. Downside is the zas are so thin, the small might not completely fill up a hungry runner.
jeffery van williams
If you enjoy oven-fired pizza, this will be to your taste-liking. Environment very akin to German beer houses I've been to , or camp cafeteria. 8-10 large, 6-18 tables , all recyclable ,throw-away plates , cutlery, drinks must nearly do-away w/ operational overhead. Workers seem to be on their toes but not much for them to do, really . Its clean. Seems like a great idea for a place in the gulch ,not a great place that just happens to be in the gulch, if you follow...vague, hipsteresque for the sake of it , trendy-wannabe but still serving palateble , above-average pizza . A fabulous place for kids or tons of drunk college students , 'cause it's like a barn where they can't hurt anything. Nutella pizza available 4 desert . It needs ice option for drinks and costs 6 times what it would take to make the pizza. Above average.
Joyce Burrow
The best pizza I have ever had hands down
Steven Camp
Great atmosphere, plenty of room for a group. TV's if you need them. Pizzas are fantastic, different than you'll get most places. The best part, it's super quick. Free parking right off the roundabout near Demonbreun.
Mitesh Bhalani
Great place for classic Neopolitan pizza. The crust is light and chewy and the ingredients are fresh. I wasn’t a fan of the ricotta stuffed crust but the rest of our pizza was great
Ryan Lovett
Visited with work colleagues for lunch and the service was very quick, there was a nice atmosphere, and pretty reasonable prices considering the quality of the pizza which was excellent. Will be back here again for sure, definitely a good experience.
michael V
Great pizza. This crust with quality ingredients. The DeSanos pizza and Margherita was the two pies we got. Both top tier pies. Highly recommend. 5/5
J R
Absolutely love the Peppadew peppers! I've never tasted anything like them and they are heavenly. Food is a little pricey, but worth it if you have the funds.
Weston Hall
Amazing pizza and friendly staff
Philip Thompson
Fabulous pizza. Their Pizza Margherita is perfect Neapolitano pizza. Can be full of college students but the pizza is worth it. Have visited five separate times. Pizza always consistently excellent.
Patrick Ryan
Had the Desano pizza and the traditional cannoli and my wife had the tre cannoli. Everything was great. Service was very friendly and quick. Best pizza in town.
Benjamin Gillmore (Ben)
Prices were decent. Very nice wait staff. Good quality ingredients. Fast service. Clean tables. Very authentic and fresh.
L Parks
So much fun!! Such an easy atmosphere!!! They gave the kids pizza dough to play with while we waited!!!😍 Our host was the funniest, coolest guy, lol …
Najla Poullard
Nice looking establishment and friendly service. However, I did not care for the pizza. Bland did not have great taste.
Joel McCauley
Always love going to DeSanos. Great pizza and you get it fast. Wonderful service, and super friendly. We went today for our daughter's birthday and they gave a a dessert pizza which was delicious.
Lori Perry
Amazing fresh ingredients, super delicious.
Tracey Olson
Great food. Atmosphere was awesome. Roomy and never felt crowded no matter how many people are there. We love this pizza.
Bill Dinker
Desano's is nothing short of AMAZING! Talk about unbelievable PIZZZZZA. If Italy was a restaurant in America, it's capital city would be DESANO's! They have 3 pizza ovens according to the traditions of particular towns in the Olive Oil nation. Ingredients are fresh. DO NOT request toppings to be added or removed. This is ARTISAN pizza you knuckleheads. Don't like it? Go read Music City for Tourist Dummies again. Seriously. This is the best pizza in Nashville. As us LOCALS say, "Git You 'Uh Peeeeinch."
John Scrivner
Best pizza on earth. Wood-fired. Real Italian chefs, ovens and pizza. Make up some dipping oils for your crusts and they will be your favorite part of your meal.
James Walls
The desano pizza is so very good. This pizza is the best in the city.
Bob Lyons
Best pizza in Nash Vegas!!
Brandon Caples
The pizza was good, but it was kind of loud in the restaurant. It has the atmosphere of a trendy bar. It was very crowded and loud when we went. It's a really trendy place, but maybe it's just not my style.
Sebastián Alegre
I love this place. It's got amazing pizza. Unfortunately the last time I came here, we didn't get our pizza until 40 minutes later and after asking the attendant twice.
Grover Collins
We ordered take out from Desano. The pizza was ready in 4 minutes! The ingredients are fresh and the service comes with a nice smile. We will be returning here soon! I highly recommend this place.
Jessi Maddox
The salad was delicious. Wish they had more vegan options but at least they had the salad and it was delicious!
Bryan Guess
Hands down the best pizza I've ever had!!! Our whole group agreed!!! And as a bonus we didn't feel tired or bloated after our experience. Definitely a MUST!!!!!
Ian Foley
Awesome lunch spot for an informal business lunch!
Thor Sisson
This pizza is legit. Ingredients were incredible and execution was perfect. The place itself is nothing to write home about, but it is clean and you can see everything being made.
Niki Dorton
Delicious made from scratch pizzas! A little pricey but for a special occasion it's great! I always get the large size and have leftovers!
Ted Wheeler
Delicious pizza! Limited parking but there is a valet service. Seating is first come first served and is shared tables and benches. Additional seating in bar area.
Brandon Wall
I came here with my wife and we loved it. I’m from Italy and I can honestly say the classic Margherita was amazing.
Ryan Gregory
Our order was misplaced, but the manager came over and made it right without being prompted which was excellent. Totally made up for the mistake. We will be back because the pizza is fabulous.
Olivia Liem
We really enjoy going here. The pizza crust are nice and thin and never disappoint. The laid back setting, makes it a good place to go to with bigger groups.

BYOB is nice, pizza is excellent. Pizzas are around $20/pie for a large. One important note, it's a loud place and service isn't fast, but if you're ok with that, I recommend it.

Great pizza. You are better served eating in than taking out as pizza gets soggy if you wait to eat until you get home.

Although we enjoyed the pizza, amazing delicious....we ordered half dz canolis to take to friends house for dinner/ dessert.... they were the WORSE canolis, filling was tasteless and old, expensive $ 5.00 bucks a piece.... I wanted to return them the next day, the hubby didn't want to.....how will they improve if not told..........👎 sorry

Amazing pizza! Great service! Wood fired ovens all the way from Italy! Can't beat that. Stop in or get it to go but be sure to have some!

For as much as people rave about DeSano's I can't see it (or taste it). It's not bad, it's just not that good to me. The service is good and the restaurant itself is setup in a fun, enjoyable environment. But meh... Certainly worth trying at least once.

Pizza was awesome but the poor guy at the register seemed like he was new and having a hard time keeping up. Accidentally gave us the wrong pizza.
