Reviews of Caffe Nonna

Monday night reservations led to a culinary experience we will never forget. We started with Roma Mussels and Arancini and had the Lamb Shank and Lasagna for mains. Look…I have had many meals over the last 30+ years, and this by far was my favorite meal in the last 20 years. I bought the kitchen a round of beers and thanked them for the wonderful journey they sent us on. Words and text cannot describe the flavors and love we experienced here. Please do yourself a favor and eat here if you can! Service and wine were beyond our expectations!

Really cool and quaint spot for good Italian dishes. We had a larger group so it was a tight fit but this is a smaller restaurant, so understandable. Service was fine.
Food was really good and no complaints for the group. I don't usually care for the build your own pasta dishes but the sever was helpful and made some suggestions. Dessert (Tiramisu) was fantastic.

Personally this is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. I have been many times and have never been let down. Every dish is an explosion of flavors. From the appetizers to the desserts. Here is what we tried this evening I highly recommend all of it.

Wednesday evening my work team enjoyed an “end of fiscal year” celebratory dinner after a two-day planning retreat to kick off our new year — we couldn’t have chosen a better plan than Caffé Nonna! A neighborhood restaurant that’s been around for nearly a quarter century surely has the experience and true charm to entertain you with a fantastic meal! We had the calamari (cooked to perfection) and the caprese salad with homegrown, fresh cut, yellow tomatoes to start. Simply gorgeous on the plate and on the taste buds! Everyone has a different entree…you’ll see they’re all plated to perfection and the me asks were excellent. We tried both versions of lasagna, the seafood pasta and the lamb shank (the meat fell right off the bone! We also enjoyed Cesar salads to start and cannoli to end. The atmosphere is so charming and the service was impeccable — something that’s rare to come by these days! Every part of this meal was superb and no details went unnoticed. I’ll be back — I’ll bring my team back. Caffé Nonna is truly a Nashville gem!

Small, intimate place - perfect for dates. Lasagna Bolognese was solid - locally made pasta and grass fed beef. Mix & match pasta has so many variations and possibilities - perfect for the picky eater or Italian food pro. The Tuscan White Bean soup is special and a definite recommendation.

Shout to the chef for the delish dinner we had. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Corkage fee is a little pricey. So make sure you order their house wine. It’s okay.

We thoroughly enjoyed the flavors, and the food was high quality, but the meal seemed a little more expensive than I'd have expected (though I'm probably just not used to how much everything costs now because of COVID) . The staff was great; friendly and prompt, not to mention handsome 🤭.
The eggplant bruschetta (pictured) was tasty, but stacked precariously.
Our entrees, lasagna and salad, were both absolutely delicious, but the "large" salad seemed small or sparse for its price.
We had some red wines, which were tasty, and some desserts.
My friend had tiramisu, her favorite dessert, and which she said was the best she'd ever tasted. I had some delicious chocolate cannoli (pictured), and our total was a little over $100 before gratuity.
I would definitely go back, but I'd probably be more choosy about what I ordered.

Such nice service :) we had a large dinner party here for our work function - owner created a pre fixed menu to accomodate easier and made adorable menus for that night 🍷🥖🥗🍝🍮would love to go back with a smaller group - so kind - lasagna was delish

The food was incredible! We sat outside and the weather was lovely. Good people and dog watching spot! Bread left much to be desired. House red was delicious - smooth and not bitter. Spicy vodka cream sauce was a ten out of ten! Waiter was very friendly, but we barely saw him. Can’t wait to bring other people here when they are visiting Nashville.

Came to Caffe Nonna for a girls night out and it was delicious. Our waiter was new, he said he had been there one week so far. But his recommendations and knowledge of the menu were impressive! We got an appetizer aracini, twas delightful. Then we shared garlic mussels and pasta with red sauce and meatballs. Can’t wait to go back!

It's rare to make formative memories in adulthood. I brought my out of town grandparents here after every other option on our list was too busy to accommodate our party. Not only was it easy to get a table, the servers were friendly and the wine selection was exceptional. They haven't stopped talking about the delicious seafood pasta they ordered for weeks and have told everyone in our extended family how Nonna's was the highlight of their trip. Already looking forward to next time!

This is my favorite Italian restaurant ever. I love the food here and I'm not normally even a big fan of Italian food. I actually proposed to my wife here eight years ago and we ate here last night while in Nashville celebrating our anniversary. We both like traveling around the world and this is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere
Abigail La Bianca
5/5 for vibe, food, and service. Gus and Tiger were fantastic and so friendly and accommodating. The Roma mussels were out of this world. Favorite new Italian place around. I can’t wait to come back. 👏👏
Rick Petri
Believe the hype! It's so good. There's so much to choose from from classics to seafood and some of the best sauces to top whatever pasta you pick. We'll be back for more.
Paula Capasso
We were greeted promptly and seated immediately. The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine selections. We ordered the arancini as an appetizer which was delicious. 3 out of 4 in our party ate pasta. Both lasagna nonna and lasagna bolognase as well as a fettacini dish were all freshly prepared and arrived hot. our 4th dish was the ribeye which was cooked perfectly to medium rare. Our only regret was ordering dessert. My husband and I always order cannoli at Italian restaurants. Normally, finer establishments would fill the shell to order but evidently this is not the case at Caffe Nonna. The cannolis that we received must have been filled MUCH earlier and were VERY soggy. WORST CANNOLI EVER! Leaving us with a very bad taste in our mouths both figuratively and literally. I strongly recommend dining at this restaurant but steer clear of the cannoli.

I’m a little emotional writing this; great food can do that to a man. I gripe a lot about Nashville’s food scene. I’ve sampled pretty much every source of Italian fare in the city, from Coco’s to Moto and a couple dozen other places in between. Some places get the job done, some are imposters, but Caffe Nonna is operating in a totally different gear.
At this point, in Nashville, if I want Italian, I am not even considering anywhere else. I seriously, genuinely think this would be competitive in Little Italy in New York City. I just came back from getting some mussels, a bowl of pasta, and some tiramisu from Caffe Nonna, and as I looked around the place between phenomenal courses, every guest looked so happy, the staff looked like a close-knit family. The atmosphere took me back to my days in Florence.
The mix and match pasta system they have boils down to far and away my favorite dish in the city, from any culture. You want chicken penne with vodka? No problem. Phenomenal. You want calamari on shells with bolognese? A little weird but they’ll do it. And you know what? Probably phenomenal.
Tiramisu had me making noises as I ate.
They’re always great, but I got particularly excellent service tonight from Nick. Extra mile type of guy, in a tasteful way.
I know I’m a little all over the place, but I’m just feeling very passionate about this restaurant. I hope they never change. Caffe Nonna sits firmly in my top 3 restaurants in the city.

We stumbled upon this place. This place is awesome! Very friendly vibe. We try tiramisu at ever Italian restaurant we go. This is some of the best tiramisu we have had. We will definitely be back!
Jacob Lawrence
ACTUALLY PERFECT ARICINI. Lamb shank and lasagna were so beautifully constructed, world class Italian Barolo wine, a lovely European ambiance, and attentive enthusiastic service from Kenzy, I can't speak highly enough of this place and how well executed everything is, I clapped spontaneously 3 times during the meal 🤯😎💯
Paige Higgins
My favourite restaurant in Nashville. The best food, best ambience, best service staff. Would go here once a week if I had the time!
Nick Litteral
Just walked out and had to write this review! Tonight they had a chicken special that was to die for and awesome version of a bread pudding! Was served by two amazing wait staff Natalie and Garrison! I also had a great conversation with Dan. Great atmosphere, extremely friendly people and best of all amazing food! I highly recommend stopping here on your journey through Nashville!
Aja Pearl
Good food, small menu. The majority of items are made in house. The build your own pastas are a great idea! Some of the oil-based sauces get a bit overloaded but the cream or tomato based sauces are all really really good so steer towards that! The bruschetta is not like a normal bruschetta which was kind of disappointing but the TIRAMISU IS OUT OF THIS WORLD YOU SHOULD GET IT!!!
Jessica Lindorff
Aranchini was delish. Spicy vodka sauce penne pasta with sausage and spinach was amazingly spicy and will make you sweat but continue to come back for more. Could use better alcoholic beverages selection. Waiter was a chill dude and very accommodating. It is not a fancy place. Have to add that as my father in law was scared he was underdressed. Great spot for a great bite of some carbs
Jonathan Glenn
At the start we thought we were in for some special as the arancini (fried rice balls) appetizer, white bean soup, and Nonna salad were all great. However then the main courses came... My wife had the gluten free pasta with sun dried tomato cream sauce and I had the lasagna Bolognese, both were fine at best. Still very cute atmosphere on a fun street.
Tom Spallone
As far as the food nothing special here. 29.00 seafood dish had two tiny scallops and two small shrimp. Sauce was thin and had very little taste. Find a real Italian Restaurant
Joe Bayne
For an Italian restaurant it lacked a bit. The bread was fluffy. I would expect something more chewy
I specifically asked for the pasta al dente but it was over cooked. My wife's lasagna lacked flavor. Wine list could be better. Expensive for the quality
Black Owl Garage
There was one common theme every dish shared, FRESH. For starters, the best calamari I've ever had. I ordered the lamb shank, it was unbelievable, everyone shared what they ordered and we were all super impressed!
Richard S
I travel all over the country for work and try to stop at a Triple D spot in every city I'm in. I also try to have what Guy ate the time he was here. Never hit a joint in Nashville so I said I have to find one. This is a great cozy Italian place and the food and service was great.
Jennifer Chu
Went there with a group of friends on a Friday night and had a wonderful time. We called ahead an hour to make reservations for 6:30 and the restaurant was full but we were able to get a table in their wine bar which had the exact same menu. My friends got a range of pastas which they said wey're all delicious. What's nice about their pasta is that they give you the option to "make your own" and you can choose the sauce, meat and veggies. I got the algean calzone and it was wonderful!! Rusted red peppers, spinach, artichoke, ricotta and feta. It was huge. The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was great as well. Would definitely recommend this place. Process very reasonable as well.
Amanda Sampedro
Good food but priced a little high. Cozy dinning area with limited seating so make sure to have a reservation .

Best Italian I’ve ever had
Michele Gentile
We came here based on reviews and a recommendation so we had an open mind as everyone has different tastes when it comes to Italian food and pizza. I have a few tips to make you aware of before going. You need to make reservations and I would suggest not outside. If your trying to impress a date that is not the place at all. We didn’t know there was a choice of outside or not. If your looking for the white table cloth and uniform wait staff move on. Make sure to give extra time to find parking and be prepared to walk. We are used to thin rings of calamari with light breading. You will get thick large rings in a batter like a cheese stick. I had the spicy vodka sauce with ravioli which was good. If your looking for the normal vodka sauce this isn’t for you because it truly is spicy which was a nice change. For the price of the meatball balls the size isn’t impressive and quality wasn’t there. I’m not used to a meatball that crumbles when cut into. You won’t walk away feeling like you wasted your money just things to know before hand.
Ryan Vetack
Delicious food, albeit a little on the pricey side. Parking is slim so give yourself a few extra minutes if you have reservations.
Jane Thompson
We love this place! The servers are awesome and the food is great! Don’t be a Karen if it takes a bit to get your food, it’s fresh and busy and worth the wait. Just anticipate it’s not a fast food restaurant, grab an appetizer and some wine and enjoy not rushing. This is one of our top favorite places to go for date night. It’s not a pretentious place, which makes it a true Nashville gem!
Kathy H
Monday night this place was full of regulars. They managed to find room for our party of 5. The pasta was great, especially the lasagne. The service was very good too!
Lori Poel
Great atmosphere and great service. I ordered the seafood angelina. I want to marry that dish!
Mark Brasfield
Great Italian restaurant, good atmosphere, staff was friendly and food was delicious. Will be back for sure.
Ken Quam
Lamb shank was superb. Steven was great waiter. Very attentive & friendly. 12 minutes from downtown Nashville.
Ryan Tidwell
I have lived in the Nashville area my entire life. This place has crept in to my favorite restaurant. The staff is great. The food is out of this world. This place takes me into what Nashville is before Nashville became the sheik hip spot for the rest of the country. It truly is a hidden gem.
Todd B
Food is excellent, I had the Lasagna Nonna and my wife had mix and match pasta. Her cheese ravioli with vodka cream sauce was delicious. The lasagna was unique and very tasty. Parking is slim in front of the restaurant but street parking was easy enough. Worth a visit for sure.
La'Ronda Whitworth
This was my second visit. I ordered take-out and service was just as excellent as dine-in. They're lamb shank was superb. I think I will make that a staple entree. They're fettuccine was also wonderful. It's a wonderful neighborhood authentic Italian restaurant I plan to frequent more often.

4/25/22 Update: Becca tried to make it right. I think it was the Shrimp that day. My husband said he tried my food but not the shrimp. I'm updating my review because Becca tried to fix it. And was so nice & professional.
Previous review- It was a surprise for my birthday. I had food poisoning the next day 3/24/22😣 The Food was delicious. But I unfortunately had diarrhea & was vomiting all day the next day. #neveragain #neverreturning.
Tammie Hardrick
We saw this place on DDD and thought we would give it a try while in Nashville. We are glad we did. The food was very good! Parking was not so much. We had the bean soup, arugula salad with beets and goat cheese, lasagna, and lamb shank. All were well prepared and tasty. The lasagna was a bit on the sweet side for what we are used to but once we added additional marinara it seemed to balance more to our taste. The lamb shank was excellent! Portion sizes were great and service was quick and friendly.
Terry Davis
Very good food $$-$$$. We ate outside because we had failed to make reservations. Had a 12-15 minutes light rain shower so thank goodness for the umbrella table. Service was very good. Would definitely recommend. Picked this from the Diners Drive Ins and Dives website as we are for all of our restaurants while on vacation.
Kaitlyn Patrick
This restaraunt was adorable! It has a very quaint and romantic atmosphere. The menu is smaller, but definitely some tasty items. My fiancé and I LOVED the haystack fries.
Hansie Rivera
The only reason I am giving them a 4 star review is due to location and size of the restaurant. So here we go!
This is not a restaurant that you will take your wife or love one for you to impress her with a fancy area, fancy restaurant, and excellent atmosphere. It simply isn’t.
The area is located in sort of a known/unknown area. I have been living in TN for over 15 years now and in I lived in green hills for 5 years and even though these two areas are very close to each other, when one lives in green hills one barely goes to west end, unless you are a college student.
Anyways, enough said about the are or the presentation of the restaurant.
Let’s talk about the food. So my wife and I started craving for a good Italian restaurant because we have been watching The Sopranos and If you have not seen The Sopranos once you do you’ll realize that all they do is sit around and eat all day long.
The Sopranos is always showing this amazing Italian food, especially Carmela’s home meals and Artie’s restaurant.
So we started searching on google for “best Italian restaurants in Nashville” the list is long and very subjective. So we automatically ignore those places that had anything above 500 likes. We felt we needed to do this because many restaurants with 500+ likes have been a round Nashville for a long time and many of them were chain restaurants.
After a few minutes looking at pictures of food and places, we found Cafe Nona. In one of the reviews for Cafe Nona I quickly read “vodka creamy spicy sauce” which immediately caught my attention. The picture of this vodka creamy spicy sauce looked like an explosion of flavors in your mouth and it was!!!
Yes, the parking was awful (like most places in Nashville nowadays) the restaurant was small and nothing to brag about, but the food, oh my goodness, the food was made by Italian angels (but they were Hispanic angels cause I heard them speaking Spanish and I am Hispanic).
I ordered the option they have where they let you get your choice of pasta, your choice of sauce (you have to try the vodka creamy spicy sauce!) and your choice of protein. My wife ordered the seafood Angelina (I believe it was called) which was also a wonderful meal, with a great balance of seafood flavor, cream sauce with tomatoes in it, etc. The meal I had, I ordered with capellini pasta (because is thin and it would not take too much to make it flavorful, hence why I ordered it), the marvelous vodka creamy spicy sauce, shrimp, and Italian sausage (the Italian sausage was a bit spicy) overall all the ingredients came together as if Artie from the Sopranos were cooking. If you have been in Italy you will think of a trattoria as you go to Cafe Nona. Nothing wrong with this since many times a trattoria has better food than any fancy restaurant out there.
P.S.
I know it is written creamy spicy vodka sauce. Enjoy!
Sarah Jean
This place is fantastic! From the food, location and the service. I would highly recommend this place. Our waiter Steven was fantastic, had great recommendations and knew the menu well. We had their haystack fries, salad and vodka cream pasta. All delicious and would absolutely come back.
Susan Winter
Five star experience all the way. The staff was warm, welcoming and accommodating and the ambience was so warm and lovely. We loved everything we ordered and if we are ever in the Nashville area again we will be dining at Caffe Nonna.
Dana Pham
Highly recommend the bruschettas - the two I’ve tried, Tuscan and Adriatic are both really good. The sun dried tomato cream sauce is probably the best I’ve tried of the pastas. The lasagna (meat) was okay - I think I’d rather have made my own pasta.
Maggie Frohnapfel
We went for our 15th anniversary! With my daughter and son-in-law.it was the best pasta I had in a long time..the desserts are amazing! We all pick the tiramisu it was out of this world!!!! If you are ever in Nashville, Tennessee, please stop it's small but it's well worth the price, and wait to get in. You will be happy that you did!!
Chris Scruggs
Legendary! Had the Arancini and Lasagna Bolognese. Wow!!!! Authentic as it gets. Tiramisu was legit, too. Great service. 5 stars all the way!!!!
Andrea Cox
Slim selection of drinks for someone who can't/doesn't consume alcohol. We went as a group of 10 and that required us to be seated on the "wine tasting" side which was very dimly lit. Appetizers were good and came out promptly. I ordered the seafood bruschetta and it came with 1 piece of bread with 2 small (maybe 1 inch diameter) scallops and 2 very overcooked shrimp for $14. The scallops on the pasta dishes were at least 2.5 inches in diameter - wish they'd use the same ones for the dish I got. I was quite disappointed in the amount of food I got for $14. 2 of my friends got very similar pasta, with the only difference being one ordered red onions and the other ordered chicken as a topping. otherwise the dishes were identical, yet they tasted NOTHING alike. One was perfectly sauced and done well, but the other almost seemed like it didn't get any sauce at all. Even with added sauce, the dish was not good. I wouldn't recommend this place. Go to Coco's instead.
Charline Avey
Very good food. Friendly staff. Arangini as an appetizer. Wow. Make your own pasta dish very fun. I had the pesto cream sauce with Italian sausage. Mmm. Make sure to get the gelato.
Dominique Motley
First time trying Caffe Nona a couple weeks ago and I can say that I’ll definitely be back!
Barbara Zats
The food is amazing, the restaurant is cozy and the service is great!! We were lucky enough to have Steven as our waiter for our two dinner visits. Steven is sweet, knowledgeable and funny. We enjoyed our experiences immensely and will be back again and again!
Liz McGovern
Great food, great service. Lovely little neighborhood eatery. Would definitely recommend. I got the pasta bolognese and my spouse got the lamb shank. Desserts and wines delicious also.
Ryan Perkins
Have had numerous great experiences at Caffe Nonna and will be back. Excellent pasta and lasagna, nice beer and wine selection, and not over-priced like the other Italian chain options in West Nashville. If you're looking for an authentic experience with nice ambiance and great food, can't recommend Caffe Nonna enough.
Bill Corum
Better quality bread and warmed would make a better experience.
sarah sexton
We were a walk-in party on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and we will definitely be back!
Michael Greif
I was very excited to try Cafe Nonna. It's a small charming venue, but was undone by its execution. The base flavors are present and very good, however the level of salt present in all of my tables dishes would put the dead sea to shame. While italian dishes are by nature heavy, mine (along with the assistance of an even saltier monstrosity known as haystack fries) left me, an otherwise fit and healthy guy, reeling. The food without the inundation of salt would have been great (if overpriced), however ended up being a lesson in disappointment.
David Ray
My favorite pasta restaurant in Nashville! The mix-and-match pasta deal is the best. They make their sauce when ordered. The service is very nice. Everything tastes great!
The only reason I gave this a 4-star is because if you have a group larger then six people, then there is only one check allowed. They do not split checks for larger groups.
Mark Barber
The food at Cafe Nonna's is always impeccable. We live out of town and love to visit when we can. We have never had a bad meal and tonight was no exception. As I told the chef, they can cook scallops for me anytime. They were phenomenal!! The mussels were amazing too as well as the chicken parmesan. The topper though is always their amazing, wonderful tiramisu. One of the best we've ever had and it never disappoints. Love this place!!!
Kailey Schaneberg
Had the pleasure of enjoying the Nonna Salad, Nonna Lasagna (vegetarian), and the Chicken Marsala. Everything was delicious. And the Tiramisu was magical, I think I finished it in like 4 bites without realizing I didn't offer any to my husband (oops!). Love the homey atmosphere of the restaurant too. I've enjoyed their catering offsite and their cooking in restaurant and both are great.
Melissa Sheehan
Everything was great! The calamari app was excellent! Lasagne and Bolognese pasta were so yummy! Taylor our server was extremely kind and courteous despite having a busy Friday night! Can’t wait to come back and so happy to find great Italian in Nashville!
Cerita Metcalf
Amazing flavors. Some of the best food we had in Nashville.
Brad Jones
Awesome little place for great Italian food. Very friendly and fast service with excellent cuisine. Everything came out perfectly prepared and at the right time. They have a great original menu with all types of possibilities. Great selection of meats and sauces. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone.
Mary Beth Montgomery
Incredible food & service! You might just want to go and grab an entree but trust me when I tell you to treat yourself! The wine options are incredible (big fan of the Syrah!) and you have to try the tiramisu! Best Italian in Nashville in my opinion.
sharon beard
Some of the best Italian food I have had. The seafood bruschetta was outstanding. Loved it!
Tom Netzer
We have seen these guys on diner drive ins and dives. I ate the meat lasagna and was one of the best I have ever eaten. I can't have much red sauce so I asked for it on the side and couldn't resist it was awesome as well. My wife had wood fired pizza and was very good as well. Keep up the good work!!!
Becky Heiner
The food was phenomenal and my family really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The waitestaff was attentive, but we felt relaxed enough to just enjoy each other's company. I would highly recommend this restaurant and can see it becoming a favorite when we are in Nashville!
Andy Grossberg
Had apps, dessert and wine. We love this restaurant. Tastes and feels like we are in Italy. Also had a recent treat attending cooking school with Dan, owner and Chef. Very talented and informative. Very good experience.
Mauricio Coss
Loved it! Food is excellent and the vibes are on point!
Jacob Long
Ending up here out of the blue and have never been, wanted to try something new and SO GLAD I did. Food was very good. A little on the high end of price but not break the bank style, just beware if going for the first time. The only thing I would have improved was the service from our waitress but plenty of other great staff members were around and made the evening a great first time experience. Totally going back and taking friends
Branson Mac Burnie
Food was very good. If you don't like noise, not for you. We enjoyed and will continue to dine there.
Dana Davis
This restaurant is special for my wife and I. We've being going here for Valentine's day for 15+ years. The ambience, service and food are always excellent. I almost always get their seafood Angelina. My wife typically gets pesto cream pasta with sundried tomatoes. We also start with the seafood bruschetta and end with Tiramisu. It's such a great restaurant in a quaint Nashville neighborhood. It's a great atmosphere without being trendy, too hip or pretentious as it seems many Nashville restaraunts are becoming. It just feels right going and enjoying a nice dinner here.
Travis Mac
It was a bit busy, and it took a little longer than I would have expected to get our food, but it was SOOOOOO worth it!! Tasted amazing and when the people started to thin out, fast and continued friendly service followed. Would always recommend eating here!!
Rosie Morton
Cozy lil place, waitress was good and fast. I ordered the classic Seafood pasta the pasta was great home made, loved the sauce but I would add some clams along w the muscles and don't be stingey w the shrimp , I believe I had 3 and instead of using the large scallops I would use the smaller patete scallops with that dish and have plenty of those too! But over all I would compair my dish w Mama Mia's lobster ravioli and It's a winner! We had appetizer and desset "bread pudding" tasted great butterscotch but the bread was tough didn't taste freshly made ..but the price was moderate my husband had the Lasagna Bolognese and ate it all! Rosie Roxx Italian !!
Mike Lanius
A cozy, quaint little place I saw on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, so I had to visit while I was in town. The food was pretty decent and the setting was very intimate and romantic. Outdoor seating was available and would've been perfect if the weather was better. A great place to go for a date!

Awesome Food! Cozy Atmosphere
Christopher “czar” Smith
Came here for my wife's birthday dinner. The menu is a little limited but the food was excellent. I was lucky enough to be able to grab a park in from of the restaurant, but I don't know where everyone else parked. There is no parking lot, just a few spaces in front. The restaurant is small so if you don't have reservations keep that in mind. The service was good and I will be back. Our server told us they are opening a pizzeria next door. Haven't tried the pizza but the one that came past my table looked really good.
Lauren Moore
This place is AMAZING! Great food, amazing customer service. Our waitress was Emily J. She was the absolute best and she was very welcoming, and super sweet❤️ When we come back to visit we will definitely be coming here.
Amanda Harrison
What a lovely local gem! I had the shrimp scampi special, my husband ordered a specialty pizza from their Pizza shop next door. Delightful, attentive service and delectable dishes right around the corner from our house!
Chris Thomas
Our server, Stephen, led us through a culinary journey for the ages. First, baked cheese sticks. Second, arancini and Caesar salad. Lastly, orecchiette and lasagna. For dessert, on my birthday no less, we were gifted the loveliest tiramisu. Stephen is not only the dessert menu, but the whole flavor Quran. 13/10 will return just to drink sparkling rose and talk about pop punk music with Stephen. Give him a raise.
KyleKyle Bensen
Trendy and delicious italian restaurant. Definitely make a reservation, because it's small and mighty. The wine list is terrific for the food as well.
Ashley Best
This restaurant was amazing! The staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for an authentic Italian food place in the Nashville area.
Steven Sykes
Quaint and hidden in a residential area. We went here after visiting the Nashville Parthenon, which was a short drive away. Excellent food. The last time I had this quality Italian food was in Rome. I thought the prices may have been a little high for pasta, but the ingredients were fresh, and the different sauces were all well flavored.
Rachel Schmillen
Mediocre at best. The tiniest $18 plate of lasagna I have ever had, with confusing and inconsistent service from three different people who never offered their names. Our water glasses were empty for the last third of the meal, very disappointing. Not at all worth the hassle or price. We will NOT be back.
Karlie Morales
Went here the other day and there were a lot of people. The server told us they overbooked and seemed extremely frantic. However, the food was amazing when it came out, but it did take about 45 minutes and the server didn't really come around.
Carley Gordon
Year after year Cafe Nonna always blows us away! The food melts in your mouth! The service is outstanding! And the ambiance is cozy and romantic! We LOVE it and can't wait to go back!!
Lance Adams
Bruschetta, mussels, and pasta. They do it all phenomenally. They have a lovely patio for the warm months, and a cozy little dining room inside. Parking can be difficult, but nothing worth doing is easy.
Claudia Meade
Excellent service, family owned small restaurant with the best food in town. Cozy, chilled, and romantic. Forget about the big restaurants, when you can get more a personalized service and eat delicious Italian food.

Decent enough food with a curt, but professional waitress. Their pistachio gelato was more like pistachio Italian ice, and our entrees of salad and pasta were serviceable but nothing over the top.
Deb Mak
Awesome casual atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. The trout tasted as if it had been prepared just for me by my own Italian grandmother! Delicious!
Christ Prokos
Delicioso! Exquisite food and great service!
Cindy Lavonna
Loved it. 5 star experience. Small crowd, quiet, not fancy decorations, but the food was outstanding. Fresh and well prepared. Excellent service. The Veal and the Seafood are highly recommended!

The food is delicious, but what Italian food isn't? The one time I visited, I found the restaurant to be too tiny, very cramped, and loud. If you aren't claustrophobic or hard of hearing, it might be delightful.
Andrew Russo
I came here on a date, specifically because she was looking for a Vegetarian dinner. She stated that it was good. I agree, though I didn't get Vegetarian. The place was small, and parking was beyond horrible. Luckily, I got a spot in the parking lot in the back. My date had to park far away. I'll come back someday.
Aaron Shaull
I love this cozy nook of a restaurant. Very friendly service. Delicious Italian. Good for a romantic dinner or just catching up with friends.
Jordan Farrell
Steven guided our experience throughout the entirety of the meal. Take his recommendations and do not stray far. Pro tip: he doubles as the dessert menu.
Jo B
Love this Place! My husband and I happened upon it by chance and I am so thankful. Food is amazing (especially lamb) service is excellent. Small so make a reservation for dinner :)
Roger L. Conner
We had a very good Italian meal, but the desserts were off the charts good. The bread pudding was a luscious blend of pudding, whipped cream and caramel.
Chris G
It was a great intimate dining experience.
Dan Carmichael
Visited some time ago, Had a great experience. Small place with big flavor and good service. Need to make it back that way on my next visit to Nashville.
Martha Warner Ross
Good food, great service, lots of neighborhood ambience. Expensive pasta and salad meal, two glasses of wine, shared dessert:$135. You decide...
Lindsay Lopez
Mussels are a must, the standout of the evening. Lamb shank and Angelina pasta were also delicious. A bit noisy yet still intimate for our party of four.
Blake Jeter
The spicy vodka cream sauce gets a 10/10 from me. Best Italian I have had in a long time and the service was great too!
John Kirkland
Small restaurant, but a fabulous experience. I had the Seafood Angelina, and it was great! Loved the calamari and stromboli appetizers. Service is superb!
T-roy McFarland
@kimbly2013 and I went for the wine tasting for my birthday!! Hells bells it was fandamntastic!! Vivianna presented wonderful Italian vino and Chef Dan did a stellar job as always...thanks guys....Bravo

As close to an authentic Italian cucina in size and character you can find in middle TN
Michael L
Fantastic food with great service. Lasagna was as advertised so so good. Well worth the trip from downtown if you are looking for a great meal
Vanessa Senecal
Absolutely delicious! A little on the pricier side, but worth it! Not a super fancy place so its like casual fine dining
kukyo null
The dining was excellent, and so was the food. I highly recommend the nonna lasagna and the teramasu.
Brandon Sanders
Small, cramped, NOT good for groups of 4 or more, but the staff was more than accommodating for 7. The food was good, the service was overworked. Great for a place to just sit and chill, NOT for a work lunch when you can't stay for 2 hours.
Sarah Jane Wood
This is the best restaurant in town. Amazing lasagna. AMAZING tiramisu. Amazing atmosphere. Just amazing experience overall. Thank you for such a great experience!
Skylar Wooden
The food was good. Nothing wowed us, really, but we got generally what we expected. The service was extremely spotty. It was a very okay experience, but I highly doubt we'll ever be back.
Justin Guinn
First visit was 4-star experience but this second time was more 2-star, so 3 🌟 it is. Idk what to recommend for you. Doubt you'll be blown away by anything. I will say you shouldn't sleep on the white bean soup. It's a hidden Italian treasure. …
Joshua Brown
Next level Lasagna!!! Great Calamari
Sam Kilmer
The best pasta I've had in Nashville easy. Had to wait, and they were super busy, but so worth it
Nate Stemm
We really enjoyed the calamari and pesto penne pasta. The prices are decent and ambiance is ok, probably why I didn't rate as a 5.
Charles Broschart
This is our favorite place to eat in our neighborhood Sylvan Park...it is recommended to make a reservation...once inside you will feel like you are in a small town in Italy...great food and service...they have best French fries ever!

Mary Flores
We love it! For special occasions.
Gary Guinn
Service and food were exceptional! May want to pay cash as both checks at our table got messed up resulting in more than 1 charge showing up on our cards.
Mark Mccabe
Great food. I live the northeast where we have some of the best Italian food, Caffe' Nonna hands down felt like we were eating at home.
Aaron Belville
Nice intimate Italian setting. Only watch out is they serve a lot of sauce with the pasta. Order sauce on the side to be safe.
Zachary Bryant
We were there yesterday and the food was amazing. Never did figure out who our server was so the service was a bit lacking, but I've been told I'm picky.
Bryant Best
Food was delicious! Top of the line Italian! Great place for a date or romantic evening.
Harry Allen
Food was great. We visit every month or so. Only drawback is they only serve beer and wine. I enjoy a martini with dinner.
Scott Justiss
Delicious! Cozy date night spot. My wife and I both enjoyed every aspect of our meal.

Great food. Messed up my Postmates order (gave me small Salad instead of large salad with chicken added).

The seafood pasta and tiramisu were wonderful! The reason why I had to take 2 stars off is because of the greeter at the restaurant. We got there on time for our reservation, and a couple arrived behind us. Their reservation was 30 min after ours. After several minutes of waiting at the door, a table was ready and we were excited to be seated. Then, the greeter tried to put the couple behind us seated first. When we politely mentioned we were ahead of the couple, he seemed annoyed and didn't apologize. Without his rather blunt and unfriendly manner, I would have given this place a 5 star.
