Reviews of Burger Up
We have gone to Burger Up for probably six years or so as a family. I’d say it’s one of the best restaurants in Nashville.
-Consistent food and service. I’ve never had a bad experience or poor quality food; ever.
-The decor is modern but also comfortable and warm; it’s a nice balance.
-Their prices are VERY reasonable honestly, especially for Nashville.
I love this place 🙂
Looking forward to going back as much as possible!
Overall the nice experience. I had the Woodstock Burger. Though it had great flavor, the bacon was so hard you couldn't bite through it. It was like a piece of jerky on the burger. My husband had the bison burger. He said overall it was a good burger, but nothing overly exceptional. We also had the South lemonade which was delightful. The basil was just enough and not overpowering.
They don't do reservations, so I would fully suggest getting the Yelp app which allows you to get on a waitlist before you get there.
This is our favorite restaurant in Nashville. Big draft selection with lots of local beers and the food is great. I would come here just for the buffalo fries. The “Foreskin Tacos” are amazing and like nothing I ever found anywhere else. Another must-try is the “Brisket Bacon Gnash-Burger”. We eat here every time we come to Nashville, I just wish we were closer.
Cool little spot with great service. Sweet potato fries, onion rings and homemade ketchup were delicious. Patty melt was good but very dry.
I saw pictures on a Facebook post a few weeks ago and today was the big day to drive from Bowling Green,KY to Nashville to try Burger Up!
I started with the Fried Mac n Cheese Bites with two sauces (Jack Daniel’s Maple Ketchup and Honey Dion Aioli ). Both sauces were great, however the Honey Dion Aioli was my favorite!
Haley our server recommended the Woodstock and the Ramsey Pimento Cheese Burger. Both burgers had excellent flavor and were cooked perfectly. We tried the sweet potato fries and regular fries with our meal.
I chose to have a Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar as my adult beverage.
Haley provided us with excellent service and we look forward to trying Burger Up again!
Firstly, this place has amazing fries. They're thin, crispy, and well-seasoned always. I'm vegetarian so I can't speak to the quality of the beef, but I have had the veggie burger and I loved it. It by no means pretends to be meat and I really appreciate that they allow it to be its own thing. It held together well and had a great texture that's almost crispy like when you get crispy quinoa on a salad. The sauces that are served are also great although my favorite is the house-made honey mustard.
Came in on a Saturday with four people and no reservation. We were seated quickly and the service was exceptionally fast. Great burgers, good drinks. Grab a fry flight for the table. Relaxed atmosphere with a slightly more upscale feel than your average burger joint.
Best burger in Nashville! Gourmet burger selections with multiple in house dipping sauces. They load you up with plenty of home style fries. Happy hour featured M-F 2-6pm.
Reasonably priced for the quality and atmosphere on 12 South. My new burger spot when people ask me where to go in Nashville.
Everything was wonderful! From the atmosphere, the service, and the food. The Mac n cheese bites, with the house made dressing, really blew us away. The Buffalo chicken wrap special was so refreshing. Will definitely be coming back!
Fun urban vibe! Staff was extremely helpful and hospitable! The burgers are amazing! We ordered several different burgers which were all great. Great flavor combinations. The pimento burger was a delicious fun twist to a burger. The pimento complements the burger very well. Had the chili cheese burger and it was a messy delight! The quinoa bean burger was the best bean burger I've ever had, perfectly blended and had a wonderful texture. The sweet potato fries were the best I ever had as well, cooked and seasoned just right. Order the party melt and it was perfect in every way. The Double up with an added egg and truffle fries were the best. They do smash burgers and it hit the spot, the truffle fries tasted amazing. The potatoe roll for the bun complemented it well. Had the Woodstock and it was also amazing. Its basically a bacon cheese burger. The bacon was a bit to hard though. Pimento skins were also a nice appetizer. Burgers were cooked perfectly to order. If you order medium well, that's what you get. I like a good onion ring but the onion rings were a bit of a disappointment. There is more batter than onion and the batter holds onto the oil WAY to much. Tasted the grease more than anything. Love the onion ring dip. Order the tropical byrd and I didnt not like the taste. They respect the military with offering a 30% discount, amazing guys! Everything was done in a timely manner and burgers were cooked nicely. Please check this place out if you haven't! Taste is everything here!
I save my 5 stars ratings for special occasions, but this place definitely deserves it!! The few minor downsides are easily offset by all of things that they got right!! My business partner and I showed up on a busy weekday night with no reservations (so they even take reservations??) and we were seated in about 20 minutes.. The personality of each staff member we encountered was friendly, warm and just as pleasant as the next.. The hostess had a lovely smile and very sweet demeanor.. Our waitress was absolutely adorable.. The food came quickly even though they were super crowded.. The atmosphere and clientele is an interesting mixture of hip young professionals and family friendly casual.. Most importantly the food was great!! I ordered the Turkey Burger with truffled fries and a side of spinach.. Everything was cooked perfectly and the quality of their ingredients was impressive.. If you’re not on a tight schedule and you’re looking to switch it up with a special location for dinner, give Burger Up a try..
Great food, great service. Had the turkey burger which was awesome! Their homemade ketchup and aioli are unique and very flavorful. Worth the stop in this older area having some gentrification.
Love the variety of burgers. Got the Brunch Burger which was made with a bacon-beef party and a fried egg. It was amazing! Also our waitress was very nice and we had a great experience here!
Farm to table done perfectly! My husband had the vegetarian black bean and quinoa burger, which he said was one of the best veggie burgers he’s had. I had the bacon cheese burger, which was fantastic. I know a few reviewers haven’t loved the homemade ketchup but, we both thought it was amazing. Plus a great beer selection to pair with your burger!
The tables are family style, so be prepared to possibly sit next to another group of guests if it’s busy and no single tables are available.
Cute burger 🍔joint!!! Nice and bright windows. So many burger choices!!! Ended up getting the Ramsey with jalapeño🌶 bun. This burger was freaking huge. Definitely couldn’t get it all in one mouth bite 😮LOLOL. Also huge portions. Including fries🍟. Man. It’s really good too! Super 👌 …
Great food wonderful staff awesome drinks weird smell in the restroom but besides that it was a great experience.
We were so happy we found this place. Delicious food and good atmosphere. The waitress was really nice and friendly. The quinoa black bean burger is just so amazing.
Burger was ok. Not the best. My burger left a thick greesy film I'm my mouth. I got onion rings with my burger and they were barely warm and saugy. Burger was cooked will though.
The restaurant had great decor and ambiance. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my time at the restaurant. Although the place was super busy, it only took 5 minutes or so to get a table. The food was absolutely fantastic. For appitizers I recommend getting the Fried Mac and Cheese Bites. For the meal, I had The Woodstock. It was a fantastic burger and the side of fries was also very good. They have their own versions of Honey Mustard and Ketchup. The Honey Mustard was my favorite of the 2. The only knock I have on this restaurant is the seats themselves. The chairs were bar stools and got uncomfortable to sit in after a bit. Also we were seated with my back to the isle and I was bumbed a few times by people passing by behind me. Other than that everything was fantastic.
Posers should step aside. I just enjoyed the best chicken sandwich ever. I had come in expecting to enjoy the kale salad which is amazing, but the chicken sandwich was too appetizing a draw to turn away.
I haven't been to Burger up since the East Nashville location closed, and sadly this location was not as good as I remember East Nashville being. The East Nashville location was very consistent, I don't know if it was just an off night but the fries tasted off, maybe it was grease, and both our burgers were overcooked. The fried mac and cheese balls were still delicious though.
My girlfriend and I went here on a rainy Wednesday evening.
Atmosphere:
The space here is not overly large, but they make use of every square foot. The main dining area is one large room filled with dim lighting and music with a bar on the back wall. The counters and tables are butcher block style with metal finishings. There were multiple candles lit throughout the place which gave it a very homey and cozy feel. Some of the tables are family style, meaning you may or may not be sitting directly next to someone you don't know.
Food:
I ordered the Woodstock with regular fries and she ordered the Ramsey Pimento Cheese Burger (pictured) with truffle fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly and were very delicious. The fries are wonderful, they have crispy crunchy edges which is my favorite. The only feedback we have is that we would not have guessed the cheese on the Ramsey burger was pimento cheese. It was delicious, but did not taste like pimento cheese.
Service:
The service we experienced was very nice. We walked it and were given the option to sit at at able (family style) or near the window (which we chose). They were very busy that night and had every seat filled but our server was attentive, happily answered our questions, made recommendations, and made sure our drinks were always full. Even being packed the food did not take long to arrive.
Price:
Being a craft burger restaurant, the prices where very reasonable, ranging from $11 - $16. Being a craft burger place some of the burgers are going to be slightly more than a burger at a regular restaurant, but they definitely make up for it it taste and quality.
Cleanliness:
I was happily surprised with the cleanliness of this restaurant. Everything was kept very clean, both on and off the table. I actually noticed how clean the bathrooms were and how wonderful they smell. Normally the only think I notice about bathrooms is how dirty or un-kept they are. But this whole establishment was very clean.
I have been here twice. I ordered the Byrd the first time and the Woodstock the second. Both of these were delicious. Each time I also ordered the truffle fries, which I recommend. Their 12s Lemonade was tasty. They do get very busy, so plan on a wait, unless you go during off hours. Parking is located on surrounding streets or you can pay $4 for an hour parking just north of the restaurant.
Amazing Kobe beef burgers! The best burger I’ve had in a while. The sweet potato fries were amazing. Will be returning!
This gets me through a long day.
Burger Up has a Quinoa vegetarian option that keeps me pleasantly full throughout my afternoon work day. Do yourself a favor and get one of these. I usually order it with a bun on lettuce. I was eating lunch and finding myself snacking 2 or 3 hours later. Now this is my go to. Burger Up on the 12th South strip is a sold choice for a good service and food experience. Talk to Alejandro behind the bar. If your not into a vegetarian option I also recommend the Lamb Burger. Thanks Guys keep rolling.
Unique atmosphere and the tables and chairs are made of reclaimed wood. Great menu choices. Food review forthcoming.
Update... The food is awesome! The Fried pickles were really good with the cheese fried covering. I had the Woodstock burger and it was cooked to perfection! Changed to 5 stars!
The place was very packed but we got seated promptly. The lighting was dim and cozy. We were seated in the patio area and our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was my first time there so she gave me some recommendations. All the food i ordered was delicious. I did notice there were many families with children dining in so it’s kid friendly. I recommend this place of you are on the area.
It was a Saturday night about 8:45 and the hostess was very nice. They showed us to your table outside. Water was given to us and then your drinks came. I ordered the double up burger. It was very good & the fries good. We’ll go back. Cheers
Hands down the best burger we ever had. Brayan our waiter was the nicest guy and had the best attitude. The food was amazing, the truffle fries are a must have. We would honestly come back just for Brayan and his customer service. This is now my fav place in Nashville!
Great taste and my fries were well done because I asked for them so they did make my order right!
Awesome location and environment!
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I tried the Hawaiian Burger and was Delicious, the homemade sauce is really good. I highly recommend this place to eat really good and the staff is very kind!
Always have great burgers. Loved my turkey burger and sweet potato fries!!!
My favorite! The sweet potato fries are the best. The fry flight😍😍
Had dinner with a coworker who really needed to vent. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Very simple but elegant for a burger place. Great menu and was the prices are reasonable for the area. I had the Double Up burger with fries. It was well done but succulent ... perfect for me! The food arrived quickly and it was fresh and hot when it came. The staff was very attentive and professional. I loved having my own carafe of water on the table as well. I forgot to take a picture of my plate but this little restaurant is definitely worth the trip.
Really friendly staff, large juicy burgers, crispy and delicious sweet potato fries. Would be back here very often if I lived in the area!
Went here last night with one of my friends and was a little disappointed in comparison to what I had expected going in considering the reviews. I got the Woodstock and the burger itself was incredibly mediocre and borderline bland, but really enjoyed the fries. I'd come back for the fries but don't necessarily think I will come back for the burgers.
Visited after quite a few recommendations and walked away somewhat disappointed. The place is nice and spacious with good staff but the burger was really average. I ordered it medium but it came out very well done, cooked all the way through. Therefore it was very dry and the patty wasn't all that flavorful to begin with. We did order the potato skins as a starter though and they were absolutely incredible. Those are worth a few stars on their own.
The ambiance was really nice, service was moderately good and the food was overall good.
The only issue I had was the single decent vegetarian item was a black bean burger, which fails me 80% of the time. Black bean burgers can’t survive but a few bites before disintegrating into a mushy mess, especially when you combine it with a good helping of other ingredients and sauces.
Everything was good here, except the vegetarian burger, which was an atypical mess of parts after a few minutes. I’m not mad, I’m sure everything else was awesome, my wife sounded happy about her burger and the beers were both properly served and good choices as suggested by the server.
Without a doubt the best burgers we have ever ordered! The onion stack appetizer was out of this world. The bison burger, loaded with fried onion and jalapeno was outstanding. The service was fabulous and atmosphere was relaxing and family friendly.
I really enjoyed our lunch at Burger Up! I came in a group of 4 and we all loved our meals. We split the fried pickle appetizer. They weren't the best I'd ever had, but were still very good. I ordered the Pimento Cheese burger. It was AWESOME! It was perfectly cooked to my order and all the flavors worked well together. The sweet potato fries were also very good. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and had great recommendations for the food. The others in my group had the black bean burger and the classic cheeseburger and all enjoyed their meals. It's in a cute area and good for walking around while waiting on your table. I would definitely go back next trip to Nashville!
It's just okay. Extremely expensive for what it is: just okay. Average meat quality, average bun, below average sauces, awful sweet potato fries. Their special ketchup (Jack Daniels, or something) tasted like marinara sauce.
Ordered from here while in town for a conference. I had the Byrd Burger; a fired chicken breast with cheddar, dill pickles, and an aioli mayo. It was fireaking amazing! The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. I should’ve taken a pic, but I devoured it. Don’t miss out! Try Burger Up today!!!
Although the place was quite busy and only two wait staff seemed to be in the main area, the service was good and the staff gave us reasonable attention.
The food was good, cooked to order and served very hot.
Good overall dining experience!
I ordered the byrd which was cooked to perfection crispy on the outside and moist on the inside the flavour was amazing. Truffle fries very flavourful and plentiful. I would of given 5 stars but I personally thought the fries were a little greasy and limp and soggy, maybe that's a personal preference but there wasn't a crunch and it was hard to dip them in the aioli sauce. Definitely recommend eating here if you are in the area.
Our burgers were delicious, great casual atmosphere
Nice atmosphere. The food was good, but it wasn’t the best burger I’ve ever had as many state.
So yummy!! I was on my way to the movies, found this restaurant on Yelp, jumped in the No Wait line, and headed that way. I was able to park for free alongside a side street within a block of the restaurant. I'm so glad I joined the No Wait line, because they were super busy when I arrived!
When I walked in, the best part of this restaurant is the beautiful ambiance! Picnic style tables with dainty candles on them, so cute/romantic! This is an awesome place to just sit back, relax, and enjoy a good burger, with good company.
For my meal, I ordered a bacon burger that was good. I wasn't that impressed with the overall burger, but the beef pattie was absolutely delicious, and cooked very well! Now for the fries... magically delicious! They were perfectly cooked in every way! I can't wait to come back just for the fries!!
Awesome burgers, portions are good and service is friendly. The hand made burgers, hand cut fries, house made sauces and salsa are very tasty. The Truck Margaritas are so good! The dish towel napkins, lack of straws and paper board take out boxes check off my eco friendly box.
I've had a lot of burgers in Nashville, but there aren't many that compare to Burger Up. They put a fresh spin on the American classic, and you will have visions of their truffle fries. Their house-made ketchup should also be noted here as well.
So good!! Met with the fam for a meal here and everything was on point! I ordered the troyathalon with an egg and it was easily the best veggie burger I've ever had. The sweet potato fries were also good and, though I didn't sample anything from the bar, my diet coke never sat empty. 10/10 reccomend.
Good burgers and sides, tasty food and drink specials, fast, friendly service.
Beyond any burger joint I've ever experienced! Joined the repeating visit club
Tasty sandwiches and excellent service. Well worth the price. We had The Byrd and Turkey Burger. Both were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Would def come back.
Somehow, the turkey burger is the best thing on the menu.
We had a feast here after a morning hike around Radner Lake. I had the blue cheese burger with bacon and it was phenomenal. The truffle fries were perfect and the onion tower were some of the most ridiculously delicious onion rings I've had in a long time. I will definitely be going back.
Pretty good burgers. Tight seating, but the joined tables make it a lot more... Intimate. Forgot the item name, but we had a platter of all 3 fries and multiple dipping sauces for 7 dollars I think? Definitely worth it if you like taters.
Will be going back once I have a little cash!
What happened to the quality of beef here? Used to be fresh from local farmers now I doubt it. Its noticeably worse even after a single bite. What a shame
It was a full house with a wait when we were there for dinner, but the server was friendly and responsive, and the burgers were quite good. Mine was overcooked, but I was willing to overlook that due to the volume they were cranking out at the time. Unexpectedly, they have a well stocked bar with a better selection of bourbon and scotch than I was expecting in a burger restaurant. Would definitely recommend.
I usually LOOOVE this place and have no complaints but the last two times I’ve gone I’ve ordered my burger medium and it has came out well done both times.
I get a burger from here for me and my son almost once a week. My favorite is their Woodstock burger but I add tomato and spinach to it. Delicious with their special ketchup (Heinz + coke)! Their regular fries are the best in town and their sweet potato fries are the salty kind. Drinks are great. The only issue is that it's packed during typical eating hours. I usually just pick up an order. Many places will deliver it to you like Postmates. I'm usually competing with those folks weeknights. Orders typically take about 15 to 20 minutes. Great vibe inside. Big windows. Locally owned. Lots of energy. Awesome staff! The have a little area outside but not against the street so it's not too loud. Maybe 30 people can sit out there.
This place has a great reputation, and we were not disappointed. The burgers were very tasty -- focusing on the burger more than some places that just drown the meat in toppings. The truffle fries and sweet potato fries were also excellent. The atmosphere is very comfortable, and the beer list is more than adequate. I'd recommend the Woodstock burger, personally. The fried pickles are great too.
We went on a Thursday night at 6:45 and had to wait about 25 minutes.
Good burgers, good beer. Perfectly cooked medium rare burger. Fries, sweet potato fries. Next time I'm going to try the fried oysters. They have gluten free buns as well as lettuce wraps. Salads looked good as well. Atmosphere is laid back. Families as well as business meetings happen here. Highly recommend this restaurant!
We were fortunate to get seats along the window on a busy Friday night. My burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, juicy and delicious. The fries tasted freshly cut and yummy. Our server was attentive without hovering and very helpful with suggestions. We will definitely come back next time we're in Nashville.
I have been here twice now. Absolutely love the customer service Natalie was great. My Turkey burger and sweet potato fries were delicious. The area around burger up is great also to walk the dog or even for a date night stroll. Beware parking is limited. Good luck and enjoy your burger!
Long wait to get a table, but great food! I had the Woodstock burger with truffle fries...highly recommend it. Waiter was great...attentive and helpful. Seating area in pretty tight (shared long tables), but luckily we were seated next to nice people. Overall great. I'll definitely go there again!
I got the classic which fully describes the burger. Thick patty with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a pickle on the side. It comes with fries or you can get other choices for additional $$. The food was good and the meat cooked to my specification. We got a brownie with vanilla ice cream to share. It was very good. The atmosphere is lively but not overbearing. Our service was good. The stools aren’t the most comfortable.
Exceptional friendly service with only a 5 minute wait. Amazing food! We got truffle fries (the best I've EVER had, truly), a buffalo burger on a seasonal salad of Brussels sprouts, pears, etc., a woodsmen burger and fries, a Caesar salad with chicken, and a local salad with chicken. Every dish was superb and classy. Wonderful homemade sauces and ketchup too. I'm not a local, but I'll return every time I come to visit!
The black bean quinoa burger (the troy) is incredible and portion sizes are massive for burgers/fries (which come with the burger). Excellent takeout option for 12th Ave south! Super quick service for takeout too.
One of the best burgers in town. Couple that with top notch service and the location in the 12 South area and you have can't miss restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed our meals and the chance to take in the surrounding activity. If you want to spend an afternoon in Nashville I highly recommend 12 S and stopping by Burger Up for a meal.
There was no wait and they had great Covid practices there. The food came out hot, but the fries were really greasy and I was brought out cold green grilled onions to be placed on a hot burger. There are a few options for the different burgers and sandwiches that they offer, but it is like a typical burger place to me. I more than likely won't go to this restaurant again if I visit Nashville again.
Had the the bison burger and the fried pickles togo still got the happy hour price on the fried pickle chips which was nice. The food was amazing so delicious. Really like the jalapeno bun. They totally used great quality ingredients with everything for the burger.
Despite being extremely busy, the service was quick, the staff friendly, and the food delicious! I had the black and blue burger with a side of steamed spinach. The burger was absolutely delicious but the side of spinach could of used a little bit more seasoning. All in all, a fantastic experience!
One of the best burgers I've had. It was definitely on par with The Pharmacy if not better. Good beer selection too. Service was pretty quick even during busy lunch hours. Prices are premium for a burger, but it is definitely a quality meal.
Just ate here for the first time and it was amazing. Best burger i have had in Nashville. Everything is locally sourced and fresh. Their fries and homemade ketchup is delicious. Would definitely recommend Burger UP to anyone. Nice family feel to it and you can have a drink if you want. Awesome place.
Went here for lunch in between appointments at Vanderbilt with my mom who was in town and got to cross this place off my places to eat list. We both had the classic burger and ate entire thing it actually was really good. I give more than 5 stars for the service and how they spaced you out while dining in. Thank y’all.
We ordered carry out as we drove into Nashville. We took it back to our townhome and we LOVED it! One of my kids said “This is the best burger I have ever had!” Everything was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were amazing! Definitely recommend!!!
I had heard really good things about this place, from people who are very particular about their burgers. So I preface this by saying that I hope my experience is the exception. However, the burger I received was pretty significantly overcooked and the fries were pretty bland and not crispy. This review is based just on my first experience at Burger Up, and I think the food is much better than what I received, but all I can say is what I experienced first hand.
A great restaurant with an even better burger. The variety of burgers is quite impressive and they are all cooked to perfection. The decor is what you expect in Nashville, stylish with a dash of modern country. The waitstaff was courteous, professional, and approachable. Our party of seven was most impressed.
Best fries ever! And they have a kids menu. My husband said his burger was "adequate" but I thought my turkey burger was really good. What makes me give it 5 stars really is the service and ambiance, both were delightful!
I had a Mr. Lewis patty melt + egg and a 33 punch. Food was great and so was the service and atmosphere.
Went to pick up an order a friend called in and she'd apparently called the wrong location. They immediately began cooking our order and had it ready in no time. The burgers were fresh and cooked to perfection. The sweet potato fries were delicious! I just wish they offered some sugar and cinnamon to go on them. Highly impressed with the speed of service and will be returning.
Delicious burgers and fries. Make sure you try their homemade ketchup! Chill environment but a nice restaurant. Sit inside or outside and either way you have great views of the street. Located in an area with great shopping and cute little shops and restaurants. Definitely a great stop for a good burger after a night out at the bars!
I've been a few times and am, in general, a big fan. The first 2 times I visited the food, drinks and service were spectacular. I had the bison burger and the jalapeno margarita and both were exceptional. My entire family are there and no one could find fault with anything. I was singing their praises to anyone who would listen.
The last time we went we took a large party, 12 people, and things didn't go as smoothly. Our server was nice but not very attentive and the kitchen wasn't great at getting anything out. Our food came out over the span of about 10-15 minutes, which meant some had finished by the time others started. Our burgers were also woefully cooked. Mine, supposed to be rare, came out well done. My wife's was ordered medium rare came out medium well. Everyone's fries were cold. It was not their best hour.
As the first two times were so good I can only imagine they were having a bad day. It happens to the best of us. I will still go anytime I go to Nashville.
TL;DR - Food is awesome. One time they had a bad day. Definitely give it a try!
The burger was cooked perfectly and dressed to perfection. I had heard great things about the burger, so that wasn’t a surprised, but I was delighted with the French fries. Stole the show, really. They were outstanding. Try the house ketchup. It’s a little sweet, but oh so good. Thanks Julian for taking such good care of us, and thank you Annie F. Downs for the recommendation.
I went here because I heard great reviews about the place. Personally, I don't believe it lives up to the hype. Don't get me wrong it was a good burger, but I don't think I'd spend the money to eat there again anytime soon. Service was average. Fries were very good, however. Parking was quite difficult to find on a Saturday afternoon.
Solid place to get a unique burger. As a vegetarian, I enjoy their Marathon burger, which is quinoa/black bean based. So, I cannot speak to the beef, but I will say I like the fries the best. They use a house-made ketchup, which I prefer to Heinz, but not everyone loves it. They do fried pickles as good as anyone. It's somewhat of a small dining area, so tight quarters... I don't personally like the communal dining table thing, but if you are cool with that, maybe it won't feel so small to you. Also, if you have a large group, know that they do not take reservations, but do appreciate a heads up call a few hours before you plan to arrive. Give it a try, maybe twice, and definitely get the fried pickles.
Amazing burger joint. Loud and fun spot for lunch. Beef must be really special because it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Great place to lunch with friends and good selection of craft beers... fabulous combination.
The fries arrived cold, which was a bad sign. Then the food was over flavored and the buns mediocre at best. Beer was good and the concept was cool. They had a novel kids menus inside books. Overall though I thought 3.5 starts at best.
The service was also slow and snooty. My advice is skip out and enjoy a better meal elsewhere.
Super yummy food and super great staff with a great attitude who made us feel very welcome! I just wish I ordered the sweet potato fries!!
The food here is really good. The service is very hit or miss. Is being friendly not cool anymore? I'm not a fan of apathetic hipsters, but not all of them are like that. Also really cramped seating, with the large picnic tables is at times feels like your neighbors elbows are in your food. And getting to overhear strangers conversations isn't comfortable.
Burger Up is a wonderful place to go. They have some really tasty burgers with their own homemade sauces. I had the Woodstock, but next time I’m going to get something else. Hidden gem especially for a college student like myself. Would recommend.
The kale and the beet and arugula salads were the best part of our meal. The kale salad had a great dressing and the beets were tasty. The salads were also a decent size. I got a turkey patty with my salad and it was pretty good. My husband got the Woodstock burger, which had a smokey flavor and was alright, but we've had better burgers. The fries were burnt and had no taste. We got the cookie ice cream sandwiches (it comes with 2) and I was disappointed that the cookies were hard instead of chewy.
Well worth the wait! We were trying to get on the road quickly and so were disappointed by the wait for a table, even though we'd come in after what we thought would have been the lunch rush. As a novel convenience, they took our cell number and texted us when a table was available, allowing us to to stroll around in the meantime. The food was well worth the wait! The burgers, fries, even the homemade sauces were all delicious. My burger wasn't cooked to order, but was perfectly satisfying nonetheless. And at the end, I was delighted by their generous military discount, which brought their accordingly high prices into a range I felt very comfortable with.
Great burgers! Friendly staff and service. They also have amazing truffle fries!
didnt wait more than 5 minutes for a table. Server was brand new but did well. everything came out like we ordered it and was attentive. his trainer checked on us from time to time. Food was good as always. First time at the 12 S location because I always went to 5 points. Glad to see yall hold to the same high standard. Can't wait to visit again
Tonight, I went to Burger Up for a meal to myself and decided to sit at the bar. Bartender took my order and was very kind. It had been a while and I hadn't seen my food yet. The bartender comes over embarrassed and tells me that he failed to put my order in. I was in no way displeased with the news because hey, things happen and people make mistakes. No big deal. But then, he tells me that my meal is free of charge. This place will forever have my business because of that. I still would've gladly paid for the food but they wanted to make their (small) mistake right. I really appreciated it so much and it speaks volumes of the business that they operate. The Black & Bleu burger is EXTREMELY good. Tasted even better since it was free. I highly recommend this place! I will be back.
Had lamb and bison burger. Both were cooked perfect. Sweet Potato fries were awesome. Thick and not overcooked. Went in late so it wasn't too busy, but you could tell that it gets busy. Great staff, very helpful.
I had the bison burger and truffle fries. It was amazing! Still thinking about how good it was a day later. It was heavy because of all the oil though.
Troy was our server and was very helpful to me with menu suggestions for dairy allergies. the bussers and hostesses we're friendly too!
All in all, a great looking place to have delicious food served to you by kind people.
And they have sweet shirts.
You might have neighbors - picnic style seating in the middle of restaurant. You can never go wrong here. I tend to stick with either the Bison Burger or Troyathalon Burger paired perfectly with Truffle fries. A necessary upgrade, in my opinion, although their house fries are just as well. Fried mac-n-cheese bites are amazing for an appetizer. Have never made it to desert but I'm sure that follows suit!
The food was good, and the house made honey mustard is the bomb. I had the patty melt, and I enjoyed it.
The truffle fries were OK, they didn't really have enough truffle flavor for my taste. Would eat here again.
I had a delicious Patty Melt witha housemade sauce. The rye bread was amazing. The seating was close but the conversation around the food was good too. Drinks were good. I definitely plan to come back soon and try something else.
The burgers here are amazing. Full of flavor, very unique, and perfectly cooked. They have spicy, BBQ style, gourmet, and classic options to choose from, so it will work for anybody's pallet. The decor is rustic and the environment is great for hipsters and families alike. Only about a mile from the Belmont Mansion and plenty of shops nearby, there's plenty to do before and after dining. Definitely a recommended spot for visitors. (I would also go as a local if I lived there, but I'm out of place to speak for that.)
Burgers are divine and service is great. It can get a bit cramped when busy because of the style of seating in the restaurant but it's not so bad that it's bothersome. As a mom, I also love how kid friendly they are. Kids' menus pasted inside the cover of children's books? Pro move.
Good food. The customer service was okay.
Staff were attentive and friendly. The byrd was a good sandwich. Fries were really good. There ranch and honey mustard are definitely worth a try. Some of the seating was a little tight and they are stools with no backing.
I loved this place and I will definitely come back. A variety of delicious burgers. Their fried pickles were some of the best I've ever had, as well as their truffle fries. I recommend the classic burger & sweet potato fries.
It was great. I can shortly before 6 PM and was able to catch happy hour pricing. The food was super delicious and staff very efficient and friendly.
Great burger, nice atmosphere. 10% service charge on take out orders, which isn't stated on the menu, only on the website. They should update the menus to be more clear so customers don't double tip unless they mean to.
Service was wonderful. I usually don't eat burgers but I can't resist theirs. The fries are tasty they also serve a homemade ketchup that is so good. What a fun place to grab a bite to eat.
I came to visit from Puerto Rico and on my visit I was extremely pleased with the menu, the attention and warmth of the waitress and the look of the place in general. Well organized, the food is served quickly and is well presented. The bison burger was my choice of food and I would go back just for it. Highly recommend it.
Excellent food here. Their truffle fries are succulent. The bacon is unreal and their meat is high quality. The ketchup is made in house and will take over your life if you're not careful.
Food was delicious, fresh, perfect. Staff was beyond nice and accommodating. Came here with a group of 8 adults and 3 kids last night. Was concerned at first with how small it was and how packed, but to my surprise even though they initially told us the wait would be 45 min, they sat us in under 10 minutes when they quickly found a solution that would work for our big group. Very happy with our experience there.
Straight deliciousness. Craft burger joint with a sophisticated ambiance and, thankfully, none of the pretentious service that you would find at a similar place in Austin. We were seated quick and got some tasty grass-fed action quicker. The fries are good too. I counted two Belmont shirts and one Vandy shirt while we were there.
Atmosphere is great. Our server was awesome (hate myself for forgetting his name). The bison burger I got was delicious.
It's my first time in Nashville, and my cousin took me here. A little bit of a different place, but great! Quirky. Stools instead of chairs, for example. Our waiter was great, and we ended up staying to chat a bit after we finished eating. It was full and busy on a Sunday evening, but we never saw much of a line. They kept things moving well. I'd come back again next visit!
Just recently tried the Burger Up on 12th Avenue. The food was delicious as it always is at the Cool Springs location! The restaurant seemed well under-sized but it was especially busy during my visit. Definitely will be back during my next evening out in Nashville.
Pretty freaking awesome. Double up burger and house ketchup was bomb diggity for sure. I ate so fast I forgot to take pictures! But don't worry I'll be back for sure
Took a huge group here the other night and we absolutely loved it. Something for everyone. Drink menu was good and the wine and burger route is a solid option. Everyone went googoo over the trufffle fries. Worth a stop as your are eating around Nashville
Great dining experience w my father! A small menu but with plenty of favorites to choose from. You must try the fried Mac and Cheese Balls and don’t leave without tasting the jack Daniels maple ketchup.
I realize it's a trend in the area to be trendy... But I am a little concerned Burger Up takes itself a little to seriously since at it's core is a burger joint with a bar. I ordered take out and picking up the food I felt the women seating at the door immediately looked down on me for not wearing ironic clothing or have half my head shaved. Food wasn't bad though.
It was ok, a bit dry… ketchup is a slight variation on marinara sauce. Service was good, though a few missed refills and drink types.
We waited a long time to seat 7 on a Friday afternoon. Dining room is small, so no surprise. My party was happy with the food, the turkey burger was delicious, even though they were skimpy on the avocado. Cucumber/tomato salad was boring, but the pesto dipping sauce served with it was incredibly good. Give it a try if you're on 12 South anyway.
Decided on eating here on a quick trip through Nashville, and glad we did! We ate at the attatched/outside area. And although the chairs weren't exactly comfortable, the food more than made up for it! Probably some of the best burgers around here!
My absolute favorite place to get a bison burger! I had a bison burger with cheese and fries. I guess that would be a "cheese bison burger." This is what I always get and I'm always satisfied. The bison is lean and tasty. Bisin is leaner than beef. It's the first time I remember eating a burger without feeling heaviness in my stomach. Try one and thank me later.
Excellent! My sons had burgers and I had the beet & arugula salad....delish! We aren't local and were very impressed with this cute little restaurant. Everything was fresh & teenager approved!
Great burgers, drinks, and service!
Burgers are amazing, but the fries and onion rings... wow. I can honestly say those were the best onion rings I've ever had. Service was also awesome. We'll definitely be back!
Great atmosphere and great food! Happy hour is the real deal. Two for one craft beer?! Who does that? They do! Loved the burgers
Blue burger was awesome. Fries a little soggy. Homage ketchup is cool and tasty add on. Busy but seated on the patio quickly. Young and old crowd welcome too.
By far the best turkey and quinoa burgers in town. Excellent salads and the truffle fries hit the spot every time. I am never disappointed and enjoy the weekly specials which have a seasonal flare and timely relevance.
The Brunch Burger was huge and very satisfying. Nice, upscale vibe for a burger bar. Would have loved to try an adult beverage.
Best for small groups of adults.
Boss and I went in for lunch while in Nashville. Flight fries and the house-made dippings were fantastic!
The pimento cheese burger I had today was fantastic. Maybe it was the combination of flavors and just the right burger/bun combo, but I was elated with my meal. The truffle oil fries were great and the house made ketchup was my wife's favorite part. Thank you!
Not your average burger joint. Expect a nice environment to try a delicious burger paired with a great beer. Really like the community seating. The house made ketchup and honey mustard is fantastic! P.S. Get the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. I don't care. Just do it!!
The 800 pound gorilla of Nashville burger joints is overrated, overpriced, and over-trafficked.
Don't get me wrong, the food is decent. Not great, not perfect, but it gets the job done. There aren't a lot of upscale burgers in Nashville - outside of the steakhouses, of course - and you really should try Burger Up if you're a burger junkie like me. But I'd say it's unlikely this place will ever become the go-to for buns and meat.
Mostly I dislike the heavy traffic. Dinnertime is always busy. It's full of 12 South hipsters (a whole different breed from the East Nashvillians), and while that's not necessarily a bad thing it definitely gives Burger Up a specific vibe that not everyone will like.
I'm also not a fan of the prices here. If I'm going to drop this kind of cash on a burger, I'll just as soon go to Capitol Grille or somewhere like that.
And for the record, Fido's burger is every bit as good _and better_ than Burger Up, at roughly the same price.
Loved this place. The food was excellent. We had fried mac n cheese, burgers 🍔 and fries 🍟. All of it was done right and delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and sociable. …
Excellent service, great drinks, and the abaolute best burger I've had in my nearly 29 years of life. My only complaint is that I can't take the restaurant home with me to Oregon when I'm done with my vacation.
Unique foods that are often tasty. Apathetic, distracted waitresses that act as if they are doing you a favor by serving you. This restaurant seems to be out of multiple beverages every time we visit. How could you be out of all wines during Happy Hours every single time we visit. Come on, man!
Stopped in on a trip home from the smoky moubtains bc we were craving a burger. Awesome food and great service! Unique burgers and fries. Cool atmosphere and great music in the background. Draft beers were pricey ($8) but the food was very reasonable.
This place is absolutely amazing! I was looking for good veggie burgers and this is the place! I had the Marathon with fries and it was delicious. Also, both homemade sauces are really yummy. I will definitely go back to try the other veggie
This place was very good. Service was excellent and they have a patio section that's dog friendly. Got the fried mac and cheese for an app (housemade not prefrozen), also had the Turkey burger and the black bean burger with sweet potato fries. Everything was fantastic
Great burger! Right up there amongst the best in terms of quality and selection. Fun neighborhoody vibe as well. However the sides and fries were merely good. But the burger more than makes up for it.
Enjoyed the Black and Blue burger. Dining room is a bit small so, if you aren't a fan of crowded places, I'd only recommend going during slow times. Staff was friendly! Give it a try when you're on 12th Avenue!
It is really good food, so close to a 5 but there were very small nitpicky things that kept it from being a full 5. I've been here about 15 times total between this and other locations and it's definitely worth going and always delivers a great burger and awesome truffle fries
Great burger and excellent service! We ate here while visiting Nashville upon the recommendation of friends who come here often. They were correct when they told us it was a terrific burger, and the fries were even better.
Delicious food. They bring out a sweet home-made ketchup by default. If you prefer regular ketchup you'll have to ask for it. Attentive and speedy bar service. Easy and reliable ordering for pick-up.
Wish there were more space between tables. When it's full there is no walking room because everyone's bags, bodies, and chairs are blocking the path. If they'd take out just one 2 top that would give elbow and breathing room.
Trendy place with very friendly staff. A number of different flavor combinations on some premium burgers and sandwiches. Probably a little over-priced, but not much. You're paying some for the ambiance, etc. Nice for a premium hang-out, business dinner, or date.
Love this restaurant.. their burgers hit the spot every time. Their fried mac and cheese is even better with hot sauce by the way.
So decided to here after reading the reviews, will say the service was great and the burgers were excellent, not a a fan of the truffle fries at all to much spice!! they did replace them with regular fries no questions asked !!, However definitely "Pricey" $41.00 fro two burgers , fries and an appetizer (Macaroni Cheese bites) 2 soft drinks!...I'm glad we didn't get drinks lol that said it was good and I would recommend going here just get ready to open your wallet!
Great selection of local craft beers. I tried the Woodstock burger which was delicious. The homemade ketchup is also excellent. The employees were all very friendly and helpful.
Little pricy if you want anything other than a basic burger. But the food was very good. And they make all of their sauces in house from ketchup to mustard
Burger Up is amazing every time - probably my favorite plce to go. My husband loves their beef burgers and I love their quinoa burger with the mushroom/swiss set. Their fries are great, though the sweet potato ones are just a little less crispy than my preference, so I get regular. Their drinks are delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. When someone suggests Burger Up, I simply cannot say no and miss an opportunity for another dining delight.
The food comes out fast! The chicken tenders are out of this world good. And their homemade ketchup and honey mustard are the perfect compliment to the chicken. I loved the honey mustard so much that I bought a bottle to take home. Well worth a trip.
Amazing food, exceptional ambiance and reasonable prices for the portions! Will definitely keep this place at the top of our list when visiting Nashville.
Great food, but the service could be better. Unnecessary flippant attitudes from the wait staff. No one smiles, and no one offers suggestions for menu items. Yeah Burger is a better restaurant than this place, and has much better service. The Cool Springs location has better service...
Want a fancy burger with that chic New-Nashville vibe? Hit this place up. Normally pretty crowded so if you don’t feel like waiting, hit up Farm Burger on Charlotte for a more casual dining experience with the same attitude, or any Fat Mo’s around the city for the best cheapish, made to order burger you’re likely to find.
Not to undersell this place though. Last time I went, they had a house made ketchup that I still think about weekly, and the burger was cooked to the exact doneness I’d asked for. The buns were fresh and had a good chew and the milk stout went great with everything.
It’s just a little too frou-frou for a weekly thing.
Great place! The quinoa fritters are delicious! GREAT service! Love the beers! The restaurant is small and often VERY crowded, which is the only reason for 4/5 stars. Truly the crowding just proves that the food and service is great... Love this place when I can get a seat.
*One Liner:* Bacon, bacon, bacon!
*The Good:* Seriously. If you love burgers _and_ bacon, then this is your spot. Also, they have a mighty fine menu which can appease us carnivorous folks, as well as our vegan friends.
It's a rad little burger joint, a modern bar, and great atmosphere -- you should definitely check this out.
*The Bad*: Nothing bad -- but you will have to carve out some time as they are usually slammed.
Love the food and come here regularly (1-2 times per month) just for that. While I’ve had good service here before, whenever I come in for lunch, the same bartender seems very put off to have to wait on me. He’s one of those who says maybe 5 words to me in the time I’m there, doesn’t smile or act friendly, and always leaves the bill before I’m halfway done eating, which I find is rude and borders on a non-verbal “hurry up and get out.” Not sure why, I am an easy customer who orders the same simple meal every time and tip well consistently. He did keep my water glass full though, so...points for that?
Slightly disinterested bartender/server, but the food was delicious.
PHENOMENAL!!! Literally the best burgers we have ever had! (Bison and Lamb burgers) and don't forget to order the Truffle Fries!! WOW!!!! Peach Sangria just screamed Summertime! and not overly sweet.
This is my absolute best place for burgers. I only have veggie burgers and they are amazing! My husband loves their beef or bison burger. Highly recommend this place. For better experience, download the app Nowait and get in line.
Yum! My burger was superb! Logged my drinks. Very cool atmosphere! Must stop in and try!
Great food and great home made catsup, but the fries are not crispy or hot.
Great service and consistently good food. My fries were a little under cooked, but the burger was great! Fast friendly service for a busy Sunday.
Burger up was amazing! The staff here were fantastic and the speed of service was astounding. If you love burgers and find yourself in town, stop here!!!
Really friendly and chill staff. Amazing fries and dips. Okay beers. Burgers, surprisingly, unexceptional. Solid place to pop over for happy hour. Prices $14-15 probably for a burger and fries.
Despite the name, order a salmon kale salad and the sweet potato fries. The homemade ketchup is great. Perfect place to bring out of town visitors and kids. Also can order to go.
A wonderful atmosphere with great food... Very friendly staff, as well. Shout out to Erin...I'm new to the area and she kept pleasant conversation with me for a number of hours regarding things to do and places to see.
Amazing food! They make their own ketchup and mustard. The staff is great, the venu is small so expect a wait and it to be crowded, but well worth it. Try the truffle fries!!
Good place to get a fancy burger and fries. My favorite is the marathon burger. I also really appreciate that they have gluten free buns! The sweet potato fries are great too!
We heard lots of great things about this place, and I was a tad dissapointed, but I think I just need to get it cooked well done next time! My husband LOVED the bison burger, and house made sauces were top notch. We live in Memphis, but I'd give it another try next time! Also- service was soooo great!
It was my first time at the 12th Avenue location but the food was still delicious and the service service!!! Jeff made sure to check on us regularly to ensure comfort and met needs. The troyathalon is one of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever had. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 …
Very average. Not terribly expensive, decent burger, a lot of fries... would still put Five Guys ahead of this place, may have been better at half the cost....
Nice little place in a great neighborhood...service was great and it was our waiters 1st day.We had 2 different burgers and both were delicious..They have a house ketchup and mustard blend that are really tasty...and full bar!Give it a try you wont be disappointed...
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. Loved how the staff was able to dress to their own style. Almost felt like you were being invited into their home (if that makes sense)
Food and atmosphere were amazing. This is a great place to go with friends, out of town guests, and it's child friendly as well. The Truffle fries were so good!
Consistently good. Good burger. Great fries. The homemade ketchup is delicious. The kids meals are a great value. Overall, great go-to restaurant.
Burger Up has definitely made it into our rotation of restaurants. They have one of the best veggie burgers in town (The Marathon Burger) and my husband loves several of their meat options as well. An order of sweet potato fries with their house aioli is outstanding. They also have great mixed drink menu and a reasonable beer selection. Somehow Burger Up has managed to take the typical burger dive into a real foodie experience from atmosphere to local quality food. I would also recommend popping next door to Las Paletas for dessert after... YUM!
Ordered the Byrd with onion rings and Woodstock with the original fries . Finished with a 12s lemonade. everything was amazing would definitely add bacon to my Byrd next time.
Burger up on 12 South is our favorite place to get a burger in Nashville. I just wish they'd put the chili burger back on the menu! They have a great happy hour menu and drink selection and always have fast service here.
Great burgers, even better fried pickles, the best old fashioned! Highly recommend!
Decent burgers, nice atmosphere. We had a bit of a wait. There are some row tables so beware you may be shoulder to shoulder with some very loud Americans.
Absolutely incredible! The ketchup is so delicious, definitely my favorite part. I've been coming here for years and have loved it every time I've come. I love the food and love the service.
Nice place, delicious food.
We ordered Hawaiian burger and it taste really nice. Definitely will go back
They are always busy, for good reason! They have the best burgers in Nashville.
Mac and Cheese bites were also AMAZING. Two thumbs up!
Great food!!! Great burger !! The black and blue burger was very tasty and cooked perfectly. I got the urban vibe as soon as I walked in the door. Great service.... Great service.
We had the most enjoyable evening here tonight! The food was excellent and our waiter Vinnie was outstanding! Pleasant and there when we needed him. The service was totally on mark.
The bison burger here is pretty amazing! The restaurant is small, so you may have to wait to get a table, but it's worth waiting for. I've never had a bad experience at Burger up.
The service was great but the burgers were just okay. And I found the seats to be uncomfortable. Their homemade honey mustard is DELICIOUS!
Bravo! The fried pickles are awesome. They also have great vegetarian options. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, but parking and getting seats can be tricky.
All of us enjoyed our burgers. They had many gluten free options and confirmed they don't use latex gloves in the kitchen.
Great food with great service! I've been here a handful of times and I haven't been disappointed yet! Definitely recommend it, just make sure you secure a table if you're coming on the weekend because it gets packed!
Hipster heaven. Expensive for what you get. The burgers are more meatball shaped and slide out of the cheap buns. Fries are greasy and served in stainless steel cups (clumps of grease solidify on the cup, yum). Get the salad instead of the fries, that's the only thing they do right.
2 year review. Great burgers and I usually let the kitchen to create what I'm craving rather than going through the menu. It has always been a good experience.
Rock on burger up
Vincent our server was top class! All questions asked were elaborated and what I wanted to hear! Thanks
The food is ALWAYS good, no matter which chain, and the staff has always been friendly and kind. My top burger place for SURE.
They defined what they wanted to be good at food-wise (top 10 burgers!), then selected warm and rustic decor, a handful of complementary wines, a select few amazing appetizers, and servers who are like friends-- comfortable, attentive hosts.Parking? Park at Sevier Park!
Really enjoyed the sweet potato fries with truffle salt! The black and blue with no bun, extra arugula and subbed out the beef for a bison was so good!
If you're reading this - stop. You should already be there. The biggest problem with this place is it is too good, its flavor manifests itself into a void of communication between my brain and stomach so that I am unable to stop eating. Okay, I'm rambling a bit, but that's because I'm trying to get you to stop reading this and just commit already. Your significant other told you, you have commitment issues, so buck up or in this case burger up and get yourself the BEST burger ever. That's right, I said the BEST, and now you're thinking bullcocky, this guy is full of it, and you are absolutely correct, I am full of it. I'm full of the flavors that come standard with each bite. So BURGER UP buddy.
Every burger I’ve had is delicious! The fry flight is my favorite thing on the menu.
The Bison burger was awesome as was the Black &Blue burger. Truffle fries & sweet taters fries are fantastic. Beers (local drafts) are perfect!
Great place with a different and delicious take on burgers! Great staff and service in a modern reclaimed wood decor setting. Priced right for the quantity you get!
Great food! Place is fairly busy but the food is better than flip burger in my opinion. Happy Hour drinks are really quite good.
The burgers were great (which is really the point), but I was a little disappointed with the condiments. They unfortunately only have a ketchup made from come, which is much too sweet to eat with a burger and fries.
Food was great. Henry our waiter was even better. We will definitely be back.
The dinning area is small and you are elbow to elbow. The food and service is excellent. However large wheelchairs ( folding hospital style) would difficult to maneuver in the environment.
I LOVE this place! They are delicious! I’ve been there 5 times since I discovered it and they have been delicious EVERY time! Absolutely phenomenal, me and my fiancé love this place. If I could rate 6 stars I would !
The environment is great, people seemed like having great time, they have a bar with high stools too. I tried the Turkey burger with steam spinach as a side. Fantastic!
Woodstock Burger was good but not as much flavor as I would expect... especially when told it has Jack Daniels maple ketchup. Seating was a bit too close.
Burger Up is the best burger in town.
It has a very homey, laid back vibe to the place.
The Lamb Burger with truffle fries will change your life.
Staff is friendly, interior is nice, food is good. You will wait at least 20-40 minutes if you show up during peak times. Parking nearby is paid. Residential parking is available a block, two, or three away. The area is booming for local restaurants.
Burger up lost their mojo. Last time I was here the burger was great. Today, I was very disappointed, the bun was cold, and mac cheese bites were burned and the French fries doesn't look good. Very disappointing.
Fantastic burgers, fries were top notch and the veggies too. In a vibrant part of the city.
This is our family's go to burger joint!!! Never a bad experience and if something is not quite right, they make sure to fix it. Everyone should experience this for your local burger place!
Great place and very nice staff, we had Lamb burgers and was delicious . Overall very pleasant experience.
FYI their in house ketchup 👌. …
Excellent burger, good service and nice ambiance. Recommend using their house mayo (not traditional) for a dipping sauce.
Delicious food and friendly service. Mac and Cheese Bites are out of this world and were cooked to perfection. Complements to this great find!
Nice atmosphere, good service, average food. 2 burgers, 2 waters, upcharge for GF bun and for small house salad (can’t eat the fries) was $40 including tip. A bit overpriced.
Bombass burgers! Juicy to perfection served on a nice and hot toasty bun. Mouth watering craft beer and suclulate homemade fries will keep you coming back for more. My friend chris says he will go balls deep for this joint any day 😉 …
One of THE BEST burgers I have ever had. The housemade honey mustard dressing is spectacular and the building is modern and sleek. GET THE WOODSTOCK BURGER.
Excellent food and service. Food is quick, and it is a great festive environment in a cool part of Nashville. Good truffle fries, Would highly recommend.
Great burger varieties-beef, veggie, bison, lamb, salmon....I think there was turkey burger too. My favorite fries ever and a welcoming place for all ages!
The fries are the best part. The burgers are weird… they taste baked instead of on a grill.
Great burgers the best bacon I have had to date! Atmosphere is pretty cool and the sweet potato fries were amazing! Everybody should go here
Burgers are great, sweet potato fries are not to be missed! The place is always packed on the weekends because the food is just that good!
They never disappoint me. The salmon burger is amazing and the fries are to die for. I frequent this place often and I can't wait to return.
Loved the food. Service excellent...The water could've been colder. Seats are hard as bricks. If you have sciatica or lower back issues, good luck.
I love this burger place because this guys have very varieties of burgers and their burgers are really good and they have varieties of patties also . And there staff are really respectful with there costumers . i love this place a lot and please try there burgers at least one time.
Amazing drinks, great service, excellent food!
The meat quality was fantastic, and the fries were great. The place was a little chilly for my liking, but that's a minor thing to complain about
I'm a foodie and the atmosphere was great but the burger I got wasn't especially tasty. It was good but for the price, there wasn't enough flavor.
Great service. Excellent fries. Good burger.
House ketchup and dijonnaise is excellent.
I just love the food here. The staff also is very friendly and always get the orders correct.
Excellent food and friendly service!
Good service, AMAZING burger. I had the lamb one and it was great! Fries and the white peach sangria are also good!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING A BOMB ASS VEGAN BURGER!!!!!!!!!! The food was incredible and staff was great. It's such a cute clean restaurants. Love!
Everything is to die for - especially the truffle fries and the pimiento cheese burger! The vegetarian patty is incredible as well - very crispy and full of flavor.
Fantastic. Wait service at lunch time was great, the burger and fries served were amazing. So happy we wandered out of downtown to find this place when we visited!
Food was better than great service was wonderful!
When in town we always stop here. Take-out was easy! Continue to support your local restaurants if you can, thanks Burger Up!
Very yummy!!! It is really crowded at typical eating times, but I went at 1 in the afternoon for lunch and there was hardly any wait! I was very impressed, the food was delicious!!
They've stepped up their game in the last couple years. One of the best burger joints in Nashville. A little on the pricey side for a burger.
Burgers are wonderful especially the Lewis PattyMelt and the bison burger! The truffle fries are the number one reason I keep coming back, and the service is always great
Everything was good except the veggie patty. It was just deep fried puree. It fell apart as you tried to eat it and didn't really have much flavor.
This restaurant has craft cocktails and vegetarian and gluten free options. The quinoa burger with sweet potato fries was excellent!
Do yourself a favor and get the kale and quinoa burger with a side of sweet potato fries, then douse everything in their magical mustard-y sauce, die, and go to heaven. You're welcome.
Food was good, but nothing special. I had the bison burger. Wait staff acted like we were inconveniencing them by being there.
Their pimento cheese burger is the best on the menu! And never skimp on the truffle fries as they are the best part of every meal.
Great burgers and excellent drinks, not to forget the awesome staff. A must when visiting 12 South!
I never finish a burger and I did here! They also have a great draft selection for anyone who likes craft beer.
Great atmosphere and good food. Nothing that made the burgers stand out as better than others.
Nom nom! Delicious burger and fries. Contemporary atmosphere and great service. Would highly recommend.
Casual atmosphere with excellent service. They have the best truffle fries in town!
Decent burgers. The place can get crowded and noisy. Acoustics are not conducive to having a conversation.
Great quality food and drinks, in a diverse party of 11, not one complaint about orders or service. Thats a true testament of quality.
Great burgers, truffle fries are incredible ....quality food, quality atmosphere, farm to table fare . ..one of a few other locations in Mid TN.
The burger wasn't as good as the price would indicate. It was okay, but nothing special. The fries were great.
Awesome Bison Burger!
Was my Father's Day Treat!
Best burger restaurant I've ever been to. The lamb burger is to die for! Great apps, sides and sauces too.
Great place to get a burger, sandwich or salad! Lots of flexibility on the menu, & the onion rings and truffle fries are killer!
Burger was fine (Patty melt) fries were a bit greasy and limp. Not a fan of the house ketchup but it decent.
Came on the "snow day" when Edleys closes early.
GREAT food. Cool ppl. Glad they remained open!
(Get the truffle fries)
Great service.. amazing food.. love the truffle fries. Also enjoyed the environment.. and they have have happy hour!!
I LOVED THIS PLACE. Such good food and service!
Good food, fun atmosphere but it's a pretty small space so you have to get there early or you'll be waiting for awhile.
I liked the old elementary schoolhouse chairs and the old fashioned cup towels for napkins.
The black and bleu burger was delicious.
When burgers are original they must be good and this place delivers. Friendly service and good value prices for quantity and quality. A must!
Great appetizers! Best atmosphere in the area and the window seating allows for the best people watching.
The have great burgers and service , but what really keeps me coming back for more is the fries and specialty house ketchup.
Pretty good burger. The truffle fries could use a bit more truffle oil. Nice place.
Burgers were awesome, drink selection was terrific and staff was friendly & curious!
Their Burgers are awesome, very nice athmosphere...we had dinner and enjoyed it very much.
My favorite burger place ever. Amazing meat and vegetarian options, and their homemade ketchup is the best.
The Bison burger was amazing! Everyone's food was fantastic as was the jalapeno tequila. Will be back for sure!
Get the quinoa fritters! Good burgers at a great value for craft burgers and fries. Really hip joint that is ALWAYS busy.
Best burger I've had in a very long time! I HIGHLY recommend!
The best quality burger shop in town, fries are perfect, too.
Fancy burgers and fries served at shared, but fancy picnic tables. They also have a good beerlist and a friendly staff
Best burger you can have ! Excellent prices and wonderful staff , parking may be a challenge but the best burgers undoubtedly.
The turkey burger was probably one of the best I've ever had. Staff is awesome, cool place.
Great Burger, Double up, fresh French fries. Really nice server. Really great overall.
It's great. I just wouldn't say it's worth what you pay for the place but otherwise, a pretty great burger.
Unbelievably good food. Desserts are fabulous! Highly recommended if you're in Nashville.
Okay, like most fancier burger place, they make a nice burger, nice ingredients, but on the pricey side.
Great food with giant portions. Kids' meals were $5 and came with a TON of food. I'd definitely go back.
There beef is very fresh I was sitting in the back and saw them kill the cow in the back for our burger. It traumatized my 8 yr old son.
Surprised at how affordable it was for lunch! The fries were great and they have homemade ketchup and mustard.
Tasty burgers, knowledgeable staff. Incredible place to grab a sit-down lunch that won't take forever.
Best burgers ever . . . Whether you prefer beef or veggie options. Just amazing.
Turkey Avocado burger with Truffle fries!
They actually cooked my lamb burger as ordered (med rare)! That's a first!! Gourmet burgers quality ingredients.
Great place, good prices and great good. Awesome hospitality. Highly recommend the Woodstock burger.
Friendly atmosphere. Vegetarian options are great, the honey mustard aioli is one of a kind.
Okay food. Kind of pricey. Worst part was the wait--there is no where to wait so you feel like you're standing on people who are already seated/eating.
Burgers are $11 - $14 and they come with a large amount of fries. The sweet potato fries are to die for!!
The food here is always delicious. Our waiter was super on point and delivered perfect service.
Great burgers, classy atmosphere, decent service. Park far (because you may have to anyway) and walk it off
Delish!! Peach old fashion's, great burgers, sweet potato fries and truffle fries!!

Loved the peach pit margaritas, yummy Mac n Cheese bites, & cool atmosphere ...would recommend!
Good food, good atmosphere. Did not have to wait on a miday Saturday. Average priced.
Very good food, and quick service. Only four stars because the restaurant set up is very tight and made me feel claustrophobic
This is a very theme place and I highly recommend it to people. The parking is atrocious though, so take an uber out lyft. you literally won't find a space any other way.
I have never had a bad experience here. Their fries are my FAVORITE! Highly recommend!!

Fabulous food, great energy and atmosphere. The staff is top notch...on your first night here you feel like this is your hangout.
Local and organic foods at its best for this part of the Country! Service is always excellent, and even the music is tremendously enjoyable.
Great burgers and fries. Good beer selection too! You must check it out!
One of my favorite places to eat if I am going to dine out. I am a very picky eater and they have an awesome kale salad.
Troy is the best. Try the Dirty Henry off the secret drink menu.
Definitely a must if you like burgers. I recommend the Woodstock or the Lamb burger, both delicious.
Very friendly staffs and some employee's work there knew some sign language that's bonus for me, as a deaf Postmates courier, I always enjoy come here anytime!
It's ok. Burgers are good but pricey. Truffle fries are legit.
Alice is a great waitress and food was delish!!
Beer - great
Service - really good
Atmosphere - nice
Burgers - really non-memorable
Fries + fried pickles - really good
CRITICISM: they should expand on their veggie burgers instead of having one with pecans (odd). I applaud just about everything else with the place though.
The burgers were great, and the house-made ketchup was amazing!
Great options for anyone's palate - troyathelon (bean and quinoa) burger with sweet potato fries and in-house sauces was amazing!
Absolutely great food, reasonably priced, and the service is comparable to most full service restaurants.
We went close to closing time and the service was great. When we went, there was also Seattle Cider Co. Dry Cider so that was a major check in the plus column.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Definitely worth the wait we had. Will be back.
Great food. Friendly staff.
The food is insane! Love those burgers
Onion rings are fire...burgers also....soooo tasty!! They get it. Going there is a treat. Highly recommend.
I have been coming almost every day, their service is excellent. They deserve 5star.
Give me Woodstock and Truffle. 12 South has given way to the mindlessness of regional tourism, but give me Woodstock and Truffle and I'll forget my woes for a few short minutes.
Truffle fries and burger both delicious! Take out order was ready quickly!
We got takeout and it was great. The restaurant is very nice so is the staff.
Solid burger options. Parking for takeout was easy.
