Reviews of The Toasted Frog
The food was a solid 3 and the service was a solid 2. I've heard nothing but fabulous things about The Toasted Frog, so I was a little disappointed by my experience. The waitress had no personality and was a little slow. The whole experience was quite impersonal. There is a wheelchair ramp, so kudos to The Toasted Frog for being handicap accessible. The bathrooms and the restaurant were incredibly clean, but it wasn't very comfortable. Most of the tables are high top, so not the best for a sit down restaurant. The art on the wall is fabulous, though! Very fun and quirky. The truffle fries were SO good, but the drinks and desserts were underwhelming at best. If I had the choice, I wouldn't go back. Just not my cup of tea.
Delicious! Had a very nice meal here and it was just what I wanted. A good amount of food and it was delicious and light. Plenty of great options from their pizzas to salmon and steak. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. They also have a great selection of beverages: cider, beer, wine, and a amazing cocktail list. Also in a great part of downtown that is fun to walkthrough (even in these freezing temperatures.) overall gets a big thumbs up from me and I will be keeping this place in mind for future date nights!
Awesome Happy Hour deals! So many delicious choices. Plus Monday was $3 off Martinis. Lucky me!! So much food and drinks for a great price
Love coming here for date night! Food is so tasty. The craft cocktails, beer, and wine selection leave something for everyone. Service is always great. The only thing negative is when I saw the floor at the end of the hallway when I went to the bathroom. I understand that it is an extension of the kitchen, but in the words of Jimmy Fallon: EW.
Love toasted frog! Their truffle bacon fries are insane. So addicting. I’ve had many great meals here and service is always great.
What a Gem! Right in the heart of Broadway. Great atmosphere, menu and service! We ordered the friend chicken and filet. Highly Recommend!
Great place & good happy hour. This is the place for amazing food. Craft cocktails & wine; are a little overpriced, except during Happy hour. Always good service. They do a good job. Mezzaluna & Beer & Fish are a little better. But these guys are great. Show up during nightly specials or happy hour. You won't be disappointed!
Our waitress was so sweet! It was my groups first time visiting and we all loved it and will be back. The truffle fries are addicting and the martini's are strong and very delicious! I personally recommend the caramel apple martini - so sweet, but strong and will hit you after a few sips!
The Toasted Frog is one of those restaurants where locals will goggle at you if you say you haven’t been there yet, because it’s such an esteemed place. Have any of those in your area?
Well, after getting tired of people asking if I’d gone to Toasted Frog, I finally went to keep away the stares (not actually really, I did want to try it but just hadn’t quite gotten around to it). The basis is that I get why it’s quite popular now!
I think it might be a little over exaggerated about the niceness of the Frog, but I’d definitely visit again and I obviously liked it enough to give it 5 stars. You can make a reservation which is nice, because it is almost always packed any time I’ve driven by, especially in the evenings.
They have a really fun drink menu, and a nice moody ambiance. I enjoyed my dish but I think I’d try something else next time. You can usually tell when a restaurant has high quality food though, and my gauge pointed that the Frog was in the green (which is good haha)!
Tonight it was so nice to run in from the cold street across the street from the Fargo Theater and enter the fun, warm & busy atmosphere of The Toasted Frog. Even on a Saturday night, they seated us right away served us moments later. The cheesy fried pickles are our very favorites and have been the best even after trying to find something comparable for years. The eclectic beer choices and extensive NA drink selections we perfect and tasty. Main courses followed soon after and our server Danielle was on top of things every step of the way. Thanks for a true Fargo experience!
The atmosphere was welcoming, as every diner seemed to be smiling and enjoying him/herself. This was notable for the fact that conversations and laughter filled the space, rather than obtrusive music. I also observed that there was a broad array of people, whether college students, young families, or older adults. Our server was attentive, the food was good, and I would definitely return!
Busy little place, but you don’t feel cramped. We enjoyed a high top near the bar and it wasn’t noisy even though the place was full. Fried pickles would have been awesome had they been hot, but our waitress forgot them and they were cold. Vegetable Lavosh was delicious and I will absolutely be back as the menu offers a ton of fun and unique items! Note to all restaurants: marijuana may be legal, but stoned servers provide really bad service.
I ate here one day by myself. They always have a lot of people it’s a cool place and I thought my food was very good for the price. I will definitely come back. You do need to be over 21 to come so one day I had planned to take a friend but could not.
Wait staff was eating right in front of us. We saw them picking at food that was a mistake and then serving food. No hand washing. Cooks also picking at food. Will never eat there again. Our waiter was great and never went and touched the food everyone was picking and eating.
The steak and gorgonzola pizza was delicious. The combination of flavors did not disappoint with every bite. 10 out of 10.
Great service, food, and atmosphere. Had a daily special soup (southwest chicken) for appetizer, which was good. The Italian Beef Melt sandwich was amazing - beef at jus + gruyere + horseradish and grilled onions made for a fantastic savory combination, accompanied well by the sweet potato fries and chipotle-flavored dipping sauce. The end was capped with the least remarkable (though still good) dish: the creme brûlée. Aside from being the size of a human head (good) and nailing the caramelized sugar part (great), the custard base was average. One more mention of the service - it was stellar. It was the right mix of attentive and non-intrusive, which helps the place shine for conversation without worrying your throat will dry out from lack of water.
All in all, I recommend taking your family/friends/co-workers you don't dislike.
Best fried pickles ever! My husband and I enjoyed our food and our waiter was wonderful! His name was Andrew and he was pleasant and entertaining. He was very consistent with everything. Brought us drinks, then appetizer, then food and refilled our water. I like it when they are there just enough but not to much were you can't enjoy yourself. He did perfect! And both of our entrees came out hot and just like we ordered! Highly recommend!
The pork belly and fried egg pizza is amazingly good. The lamb burger is like a curry gem on a bun. The bison pot pie was very tasty, and the flaky crust on top was more flaky than a croissant. The fish tacos were good too.
Gus, the Bartender, was an all around a wonderful guy and provided excellent service! Their food and drinks were outstanding!!! My experience was amazing and I will be back!
We love sitting at the bar and watching the bartenders craft their amazing cocktails! The bartenders were really friendly and fun. They had great suggestions for drinks and had my husband and I taste some beer and wine. Our food was excellent and we really enjoyed our time there. Always get the truffle fries.
Unique selection of food and drinks with some truly inspired dishes. I highly recommend the bison pot-pie. All our food came out piping hot and picturesque, including the cheesey fried pickles appetizer. Wait staff was attentive and very professional. Will come again.
The staff was so kind and very helpful. I enjoyed the food and visit here. It was delicious.. must try truffled fries..
The food here was delicious! The fried pickles actually stopped me in my tracks. We also enjoyed the fish tacos and jerk chicken sandwich. Martinis were great too. Only call out is the service was noticeably slow, and it was a Monday evening. I usually give the benefit of the doubt in that regard, but it did affect our overall experience.
We had French onion soup with duck broth which was just okay. I expected the usual melted cover of cheese with the croutons and caramelized onions but this came with a sad little slice of cheese floating at the bottom of the bowl. The gorgonzola cheese and beef pizza was excellent as was were the drinks: Mexican Mule, Old Fashioned, Circle of Hell (I thought the Mexican Mule had more heat and kick). Our server was a young lady with blue-ish hair (I forget her name) who was excellent. I would be hard pressed to recommend too many of the restaurants we have visited in Fargo, ND. Toasted Frog is one of them.
It was nice. It was my first time here, I had a couple martinis & lunch with my friend.
A little pricey but worth it...the drinks were really good.
Always a favorite!
Sweet potato fries are like none other! Great drinks and service too!
Greta good, amazing fried pickles! Service was good, but someone in my group waited for more than 10 minutes for a beer after the food got there while we could see the beer sit on the bar top as the server rolled silverware. Drinks, appetizers and food was good, on the medium to high end of the spectrum for Fargo. I had the steak fries, which I ordered medium rare and it came out perfect. Others in my group had the scallops, fish tacos and beef stroganoff shell oats special. All which had high reviews. As good as the meal and drinks was that Easton Stick was sitting at the table next to us. Great food and service toasted frog and keep up the good work Easton if you were to read this. Go Bison!
Great atmosphere! Nice to try something new. Would've gotten 5 stars but my husband ordered his steak rare and it came barely pink-twice. That being said they made it right by taking it off our bill. Our server was fantastic and I had the special of Mac n cheese/bacon/chicken-DELISH! And don't you DARE leave without trying the cheesy fried pickles!! 😍
Solid food and free refills. Our server Mckenzie really took care of us. Well worth our detour to Fargo.
Excellent Service and Food! The Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly. They also have a good selection of wine and beer. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through Fargo.
Our server Cody (not sure that's how she spells her name) did a fantastic job serving our table of 8. It was super busy and she was running constantly but always made sure to check on us. Super friendly and a great personality! Our food was so good and James even came to our table to help answer some questions about the different types of scotch they had. He even made me a brown sugar Old Fashioned 👌👌 and the Amaretto Sour with the cherries was super tasty!!
Great food, Daily unique lunch specials. Delicious craft drinks.
Amazing. The server was the best and very attentive, friendly and had great timing with everything. Cheesy pickle fries were wonderful. The lavosh cracker pizza was wonderful. Truly a great night for food.
We really enjoyed the food, unique drinks and service.
Amazing food!!!! Worth the trip to downtown. This picture is of their buffalo steak special with beet salad, asparagus, and mushroom something or another...... :-) great wine and liquor selection also.
Nice atmosphere with decent and creative food.
The steak was perfectly cooked. Our waitress was very chipper and prompt.
Had a creme brulee for the first time here and it was AMAZING!
Great beer and drink selection.
Wood Fired Pizzas are the best.
Had the fried pickles, they were amazing!
Also had an amazing Pesto Chicken Melt. Some of it was cold, but the service was top notch! Very fun drink menu and great atmosphere!
It's been a while since I've come. I enjoyed the ambiance and food. Would come back in a heartbeat!
Awesome food and atmosphere!!! The pickle appetizers are to due for
The drinks were awesome, the service great, the fried pickles the best and the dessert terrific. However none of us were a fan of our meals! 2 Chicken Pesto sandwiches and a French Onion Soul. Wouldn't do those again!
Nice atmosphere, great service, good food.
Wings and drinks to start... Caesars and Mules.
Finished with a Margherita pizza 🍕 …
My husband had the pork snitzel. It was ok. Sounded better on the menu. It just got a little too busy with all the flavors mixed together. I think it would've been much better had the risotto been on the side instead of on top of the pork chop. I had the steak frite, which was very very good. It came with truffle fries that had bacon underneath and those were so delicious! The dipping sauce was good, but a little bland. We got cheesecake for dessert. Unfortunately, this cheesecake seemed like it was either a fake, or from a box. Either way the consistency of the cheesecake was just off.
I took my dad here for late Father's day. He ordered the Walleye Piccatta, wife ordered the Steak Frites, and I ordered the Gorganzola n beef tips wood fire pizza. Have to say it was worth it. I was born and raised right here in Fargo ND...
Very good, we shared fish dinner. Enough for 2. Very friendly and knowledgeable
Located in the heart of downtown Fargo and near all the nightlife action, The Toasted Frog has many attractions from the gorgeous bar to the window seats right on Broadway. In my opinion, it's a big miss if you don't make time to enjoy the exuberant atmosphere while you're in the area. It was a pleasure of mine to team closely with the General Manager for an event and I was beyond satisfied with the staff's ability to create a five star dining experience whilst making all guests feel comfortable at any exposure level. Even during the event, the food was so expertly plated & the drink was paired beautifully, I almost felt like a guest and indulged in the decadent moment myself. This is a perfect date night, business meeting or solo endeavor facility that will have you comfortably sitting as time passes with ease.
Really nice time. We wanted to sit outside and so they took us to the narrow area between the buildings. It was great. Four tables with a breeze and nicely done atmosphere. Food was good. We had delicious sweet potato fries and buffalo wings (they're hot) and a tasty margarita pizza. Service was top notch and prices were in line with the area. Their menu is online. Super experience.
One of the best places in Fargo for casual fine dining. Delicious cocktails. Their specials are always incentive and delicious. The fried pickles are a must! Great adult vibe. This is not a place for kids and that's what makes it a perfect date night. Staff is friendly and accommodating. My friend uses a wheelchair and the building is accessible. They will reserve low tables to accommodate wheelchairs if asked. Highly recommend.
Wings were good. Burger was burnt. Staff were distracted with each other. Very over priced.
Adding to my review below. Ate dinner here again last night, and it was again delicious and the service was great. I had beet salad and fish tacos, and my husband had a steak dinner special.
This has become a very popular restaurant in downtown Fargo for good reason. A favorite appetizer is the Fried Pickles. In addition to the regular menu, they have two or three dinner specials. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. The service has been very good too.
The food was very good and the service was amazing!
Hands down best service ever! Our waiter Alexander was by far the best. He is going to far exceed in life. Food was great but even better was the service. We'll definitely be back, especially for the fried pickles!
Stopped for a late, for us late, dinner. Just had a sandwich but it was very good. Would definitely go again. Did not enjoy sitting on the high stools. I understand a lot of people, especially the younger set like these, but not so good for us older ones. Wish they have a few more tables with regular seating. Stopped by for a quick bite to eat and a afternoon drink. The fried pickles were a combination of egg roll and fried pickles with cheese in the middle. The bison chili was also very good. A nice selection of mixed drinks. Service was friendly and quick.
Good food and always fun to sit back and eat by the kitchen. Little alley way is great to eat at when it is open.
I loved this place. Menu items are very good. I had to order an extra order of the fried pickles on my way out. They have a great crew at the bar that know how to mix cocktails properly. The crowd it draws is a good one and the ambiance is a good one. I highly recommend this spot for food, drinks and socializing when in Fargo! If you found this review helpful, please like it. Thanks
Spunky environment with phenomenal cocktail selection and unique menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the soup of the day (spicy carrot with lime yogurt cream) as well as the beer salad. Ordered the Earl's Cup and it was delicious. Service was friendly and relatively fast. Highly recommend for a unique and tasty dining option.
A group of 6 girlfriends and I enjoyed dinner on Saturday night. We all enjoyed our entrees and had great service in a casual atmosphere. Highlights were the risotto and the pumpkin puree with the Lamb special. Will return! Stopped in on a busy night, sat at the back bar but the food and drinks were still amazing. Hope to make it back this fall to check out the alley patio before it's too cold out!
I am beyond impressed. I had no idea what to expect here. We ordered Calamari for the starter, and it was some of the best since I lived by the coast. The walleye was absolutely stupendous but I would be hard pressed to choose between the Fish Tacos, made with Mahi Mahi. And dont forget dessert. We had peach pie with cinnamon ice cream, I'm keeping my favorite part about the dessert a secret though, you'll have to see for yourself.
I'd give them 50,000,000 stars if I could, the food, the service, the cleanliness, the atmosphere. It's all great here.

Went on 7/08 got in right away was almost 10 minutes before we got a drink order and over 10 minutes before we got the drinks. Ordered the fried pickles- they were awesome and got there before our drinks. I had to flag down the server to order another drink. I watched them put the food out- it sat there for 13minutes before it was brought to our table. The food was still excellent. Our server never returned to our table the entire meal and 15 minutes after. We had planned to order dessert but our server didn’t return so we cashed out and left. Food is great- servers need training.
Great location, good food, attentive waiter.
We stopped by here for a bite to eat with a large group of people. The waiter was really good at remembering all we ordered and getting it right.
The place was busy mid week and still our waiter made sure we were regularly checked on and wanting for nothing.
Good service, and what ones comes to expect in the US. A cracking bottle of wine helped the meal to wash down nicely.
They catered for a vegan too, without any fuss, checking with the chef what could be done.
We would go back happily.
One of the BEST restaurants in Fargo. I've gotten something different each time I've gone and it's all absolutely delicious. The sweet potato fries and the fried pickle appetizers are a MUST! Classy upscale dinner and bar area with an outdoor seating area for summer months. Also all of their drinks are amazing!
Fantastic service. Location is on-point. Nice vibe inside. Was expecting more value out of the food, but otherwise good experience overall.
If you come to The Toasted Frog and are looking for the all star hits, you can't go wrong with the Fried Cheesy Pickles for an app, and the Gorgonzola and Beef tip pizza to split with a friend.
Also, make sure to check out their wide variety of martinis. As someone who isn't usually a fan, the Espresso martini was particularly fun!
Who knew the best cheesecake I've ever had was in Fargo, ND?
Never disappointed when I go here. They have the best fried pickles, and the calamari is delicious. The filet mignon is one of the best steaks I've ever had. You won't be disappointed with any choice you make.
LOVED this restaurant! The food was delicious and served in an appropriate manor. We had gotten drinks, appetizers and dinner and it wasn't rushed at all but it also didn't take too long. The drink was the best I've had in Fargo to date and the food was equally s delicious. I would highly recommend!!
The service here is great, good atmosphere. I ordered the salmon, which was the daily special and we also had the scallop appetizers. They both tasted very fishy and unpleasant in that sense. The rest of the meal was pretty good, but I definitely would not recommend to eat fish from here and that's why I'm giving it 3 stars.
We loved being able to make reservations! We had the excellent fried pickels, pork belly and more! I ordered the risotto it was very good! I like the wild rice in it! They even split the bill up correctly the first time! The waiter was attentive but not intrusive! We will be back!
Had a wonderful meal here last week - Fish tacos that I'm still thinking about...they were that good. :) Also, a delicious meat board appetizer and lemon drop martini. So so good!!
Once again I try not to give any place five stars (because there is always room for improvement.) in an efforts to undo some critical reviews. I've eaten here at least twice and it has always been outstanding. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is extraordinary! The kitchen does amazing things even to the side dishes, which are often over looked at most establishments.
I look forward to our return.
We were going to see a movie at the Fargo theater and ducked in here to eat first. It was quite busy because it was a Friday night, but we got our food pretty quickly anyway. I had the greens salad with chicken (diet time!) and my hubby got the chicken with risotto. Mine was great, but I had a bite of his and could have eaten the whole thing! Friendly service, comfy atmosphere.
My favorite restaurant! Toasted frog never disappoints. The food is exquisite and the price is reasonable. I always get the special and they're always amazing. They also have the drinks to match! Always pleasant service that's served with warmth and a smile. Friendly atmosphere too! Love love love!
Loved it! It doesn't have as great an atmosphere/personality as other places downtown, but the food is great and the drinks are even better, and the bartenders and manager are even best of all with suggestions and information.
Excellent food. The deep fried pickles we're something I had to be coerced into trying much to my enjoyment. Very tasty. Followed by delicious Lamb Burger with generous serving of Sweet Potato Fries. No room for desert ( next time). One of Fargo's best !!!
If I could give the dining experience I just had more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Our server Al was absolutely amazing. What a rockstar. He made our night. He was knowledgeable, fun, personable and absolutely a joy to interact with. I am so impressed and grateful for the experience I just had, thanks Toasted Frog
Go for the deep fried pickles and stay for the deep fried pickles. I'm not much of a drinker, so I can't say much about the drinks, but there was a big selection, along with a bigger price tag for those fancy drinks. They have tons of wine, and the wings are spicy. If you want a trendy place to go with fancy drinks, go here. If you are looking for a cheap drink, go elsewhere.
I ordered the jerk grilled chicken it was good just a tad bit dry and needed more of the sauce thats used. My coworker ordered an Italian beef and it was Super Small for the price, he said its not what he expected and wouldn't recommend. Another co worker had the tuna wrap it was delicious and the Asparagus was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING the Fried Pickles were actually the BEST I've ever had. So overall I'll give them 4 stars. Wait was a little long we were there at 11:45 am
Nice but didn't get any toast nor frogs
Certainly nothing special. Steak Frites was okay. Meat was cooked well, but tough. Truffle fries were okay, but nothing special. A bit greasy.
Service was friendly but horribly slow. For shared apps and entrees we were there for over two hours and waited on every course as well as the check.
Won't be going back there
I liked this place. A place I wouldn't mind going again but definitely not a place I would go often. They were generous with the portion of fries but I didn't care for them much. Overall good service though and a good place to at least try if you're in downtown Fargo.
The food was exquisite and thoughtfully prepared. Our server was outstanding, and a REAL person who was in her element, not just trying to get a big tip. The ambience is fun, eclectic, and enigmatic. A great experience!
It was great. The cheesy deep fried pickles were a must. It only got better from there. Our meal was great. The server was helpful and the service was outstanding. Will go again.
Everyone loves the fries pickles, including me. But try the seafood dish of the day. Food as art for your eyes and taste buds. In the summer, the alley seating is a lovely experience. Great service. Top notch food.
We tried several items on the menu. The lavosh was as good and the jerk chicken sandwich pretty good. The fries were WAY over salted, as was the quinoa bowl. The truffle seasoning is nothing special, thought the cheese dipping sauce is good. The quinoa bowl was so salty, it was hard to eat. It almost burnt my mouth. Such a disappointment.
We mentioned the saltiness issue with the bowl to the server, but they wouldn’t/didn’t do anything about it. The server was kind besides that though - it wasn’t for her helpfulness, this would be a two star review.
Food was awsome and so were the drinks and service. Will be going again.
Had dinner. Food and service were very good. Limited menu items but if they are done right that's not a bad thing. Would not hesitate to go again.
My favorite here is the fish tacos. A grilled piece of fish with many yummy toppings.
My husband really enjoyed the steak frites, a very good steak with some amazing fries.
Great atmosphere and service.
I have been to both the Fargo and Grand Forks locations for this restaurant. They both had similar menus but slightly different atmospheres. Fargo felt more like a mature pub while Grand Forks had more of a lounge and upscale vibe. The quality of food is definitely there and I can appreciate anything that puts a twist on traditional Minnesota food. I had the walleye once and granted it was breaded, it was done in a light and flavorful way with some crisp broccolini. I also have had scallops here and the sear was to the right level of crispness without taking away from the true flavor of the scallop itself. Great service and both locations have very knowledgeable staff.
Went to this restaurant because of the name and was delighted. The crafted cocktail I had, Havasu, was wonderful. The quinoa bowl was so scrumptious and fresh and the bright taste of this dish lingered in my mouth for a while and was lovely. We have made plans to be backing Fargo and will definitely stop here again.
A great place for appetizers and drinks. Everything we got was perfectly cooked a delicious.
The fried pickles are the best so get an order or two for the table.
Decent selection of beers and wines.
Quirky menu items that are a bit upscale and often delicious.
The location is not that large and it's often crowded after work.
Love the atmosphere here! The pickles are my favorite! Not to mention the martini list! Yummy!
I've been here for drinks and appetizers - both were decent. Their beer menu includes locals and other good taps. They are not afraid to make their own shandy, which is appreciated in the summertime.
Nice atmosphere. Service was mediocre. Food was pretty good but not for the price. Nothing they offer is bad, but nothing they offer is as good as other downtown restaurants. Better pizza:Firebird and Rhombus guys. Better burgers:JL Beers. Better sandwiches:Smiling Moose. Better beer:Wurst and JL Beers. Better cocktails:Twist. Better all-around food/drink in general:Boiler Room. I'll give them one thing though, they have some freaking delicious pork belly.
Meh, can't vouch for their food but they always seem to be out or having problems with whatever beer I choose and push one of the lesser favorites. Cocktails have been good but service is iffy in the lounge so I suggest a seat at the bar. Par for downtown price-wise and on the younger trendy side. Boiler Room may aim for the same clientele but I never feel out of place there in the way I do at the Toasted Frog.
First time was an amazing experience. Started with the Scallops and Cheese Pickles. Had the Steak Frites w/ Truffle fries and cream sauce as my entree and the Flourless Chocolate cake pudding for dessert. All were absolutely delicious and would be back for more! MUST GO HERE!!!
We were in Fargo/Moorhead for a concert and we stopped on Broadway looking for a place to eat. WOW, are we glad we stopped here. The food was excellent and we loved our server, Willow. She gave us great service and suggested Insomnia Cookies because we weren't ready for dessert for awhile. We will be back the next time we are in the area!
Great atmosphere and good food. Lots of dishes I would haven't thought of, but oh so good. Drinks are very good!
Amazing staff, they accommodated our odd number group size without issue, were very friendly and helpful, and have very tasty food. I had a great time trying their desserts and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an higher class casual dining experience. Yum!
Boutique gastropub and cocktail lounge segment. Walk into a cozy, contemporary industrial decor setting. Great service. Full bar with an impressive selection of whiskeys and microbrew. Most importantly, the food is excellent. A carefully crafted menu with balanced flavors and high end ingredients. The steak was charred on high heat and a proper rare. The pomme frites had bacon as garnish and a truffle oil/ butter dressing that was flavorful, but not truffle overkill. The wings were freshly grilled and had a spicy sauce that was flavorful and full bodied. Overall a highly impressive performance in a highly competitive segment.
The food was outstanding but unfortunately the service was awful. The first thing the hostess/server said to us was “you gonna be out of here by 3:30 pm?” (Children must be out by 3:30 PM and we had our 2 daughters) And my husband said “well it depends on how quickly you can make our food.”
The server was rude about refilling our drinks and pretty much sat the ticket on the table as soon as it was 3:29 pm.
I was already up and walking my daughter out so there was no need for any of that. The whole experience was very upsetting but the food was absolutely amazing.
Fried pickles were good. I got the lavash flatbread pizza, which is designed for several people and a little too big, but decent flavors.
Such great food and drinks! The bartender, Tori was amazing! She was very helpful in suggesting what to see on my first visit to Fargo. I'll definitely be back for those Fried Cheesy Pickles! Yum!
I stopped here upon recommendation and was not disappointed! Their sandwiches and fries were scrumptious, and their drink menu was unique and fun. My only regret was not getting an order of their famous fried pickles. Next time!
Service, atmosphere and food all on point!
This place is amazing! If you’re looking for a quiet ambiance to have some delicious drinks and amazing food downtown, this is your place. The fried pickles and the cookie pusher!! Yumm.
Had the shrimp and sweet potatoes as our Apps! Perfectly cooked and prepared beautifully! Server was very helpful on what to try and the martinis were martini-rific!!! Ww will recommend and return again soon!
Not a fan of pickles but everyone loves them here. The menu is great and the service is always good. Pizza is wood fired, so good! S'mores for desert are always a must.
Pretty pricey ($56 for two at lunch), and the food is not perfect, but this is a pretty great eatery by FM standards. I wasn't sure whether their fries were freshly cut or frozen because there was just so much going on with the flavors--maybe too much. They were also oversalted. The steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, but I'd leave out the cheese sauce as it curdles and the dish is already very salty.
I think the restaurant is trying to stay true to the culture of the town, and I also believe Fargo has seen a resurgence of """LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL""" recently, but that doesn't mean restaurateurs should forget about the classic French techniques. If this place could refine just a little bit, it could be the go-to place for all those people who live on 8th St. S.
Their wine selection may leave something to be desired as there are hardly any Italian and French choices, and no Spanish wines, but at least they aren't serving up Woodbridge and Yellowtail.
For beer they have some New Belgium and Leinenkugel's products, which almost make up for their inclusion of PBR, but what I don't understand is why they don't have an agreement with one of the local breweries.
I'd definitely recommend, will be back, and would love to try their gourmet wood-fired pizzas.
Unexpected find in Fargo. The menu was unique but not too complex. The fried pickles that this restaurant is know for were good. My entree was the fish tacos. The meal comes deconstructed with a nice mahi-mahi piece grilled with slaw, onion, pico, taco sauce and fruit salsa on the side with flour tortillas. Beer selection is also good. Good find.
Al was phenomenal, he anticipated all of our needs and recognized everything we would need! He made super corny jokes but they were the best. The food was great, but al made our night
I love martinis. The Toasted Frog has some of the best martinis in the area with a wide variety of flavors.
Their food is also wonderful. I've consistently had wonderful meals here whether it's risotto, red snapper, or an open face caprese sandwich.
Basically, if you like food and drinks, you'll like The Toasted Frog.
If your looking to experiment on new top shelf drinks, this is the place. Our server was Al and he was awesome! Food also was phenomenal!
I was skeptical about Toasted Frog in the beginning because they took the place of my favorite old dive bar, Mahoney's, but once I got over that, I discovered the food is amazeballs. Every time I go back, I get the risotto. Yum.
Our first time there. The atmosphere is great and the food was fabulous. I had the chicken risotto; it melted in my mouth. We will definitely go back.
The service was excellent and cocktails were delicious. Our entrees were ok but some parts were inedibly salty.
They were out of bruschetta for a pizza
But great drinks. I loved the Quinoa bowl
Good you should try there creme brulee and beutiful lights at night. In my opinion they should add more pasta and customization pizza. Only problem I had was they burnt pizza a bit.
While all of my companions enjoyed their foods, my elk burger was very overcooked. My cheesecake was also very small for the price. So my verdict is slightly over priced and not enough seating.
Best pork sandwich I’ve had in this entire town! Our server is so nice, and the atmosphere is perfect! Definitely going to be a new favorite spot ☺️
Great food, great service, great attention to detail with allergies! Thank you!!
Cozy space and delicious food. 10/10 recommend the fried Pickles and lavosh! I love The Toasted Frog!
Excellent meal.
Wonderful service!
The food was EXCELLENT as was the service. We arrived about 5:15 pm Friday nite &by 5:30 the place was full. I wasnt impressed with the size of the daqueri for $7, but I'm used 2 the prices & sizes in the South. Fargo-Moorhead has 2 b the most expensive place in the country, for its size, when it comes 2 buying anything & everything.
Had dinner for two at the bar, nice time talking with the bartenders who made great recommendations and better cocktails. Try the Winter is Coming if you like Bourbon.
Fried cheesy pickles were amazing. Fish tacos were excellent. Service was a tad slow. Patio is cramped, but they work with what they've got. Definitely recommend a visit!
Not as large as the Grand Forks location, however, the food is still great. Their fish tacos are a must if it's your first time. They don't take reservations for groups less than six people (I believe), but they have a wait list once they are full so feel free to call ahead. Bar is first-come, first-serve basis and serves the same menu as the restaurant.
Stopped in for a burger and was treated with elk and arugula. Great dirty Shirley
Great food and atmosphere. Got the steak and it very good. You have to try the fried pickles. They are awesome!
Excellent servers that are very attentive in making sure you have everything while there! Menu has a lot of yummy choices for a good price and I always end up with a little to take to-go!
Great food! We love the lavash and of course the fried pickles - they have the best in town for sure! We enjoy sitting where we can watch the kitchen.
Amazing food. Good martinis. Staff acted very busy and stressed out. One gentleman in particular didn't have the best customer service OR social skills.
Fried pickles are great, lavosh delicious, Martini was very good, dessert was yummy. Distancing and masking observed.
My husband and I were at the Toasted Frog in Fargo North Dakota on Saturday 4-28-18. The xervice was exceptional. I had the Cheeseburger... it was the best cheeseburger i have ever had. My huband had mussels and he claimed that they were the best he has ever had also. We ate from the Twinn Cities and visit Fargo ofen. We will definitely be back.
Our server, Trista, was terrific! So attentive and considerate. The food was delicious, as well. Beautiful alley to enjoy a nice sunny afternoon in shade.
They got da frogs on da menu
The truffle fries are the best fries I have ever had! But the rest was alright. Not worth the hour plus wait.
One of my favorite restaurants in the Fargo area! Great service, unique food, and cool cocktails. Wish they allowed under 21 though.
Been through a few times. Always good food and friendly service. Some unique choices on the menu as well as flavorful classics.
Fargo's culinary credentials went up a notch when Toasted Frog opened. They source quality ingredients and aren't afraid to be creative. They do seem to use a bit more sugar in their sauces and glazes than common sense dictates, but this seems to be a nod to midwestern preference, and sadly occurs most everywhere in Fargo.
Cocktails are on point, beer list is decent, and while no sommelier is in evidence (someday, Fargo), it's not too tough to pair a table wine with your meal. I dig the open kitchen, attentive service, and relaxing ambience.
So good we visited twice!! Great happy hour!
The food was amazing. If I was a drinker there was a huge selection of beverages and the staff was friendly.
Best fried pickles in town. Mahi Mahi tacos are amazing. Pork loin dinner is juicy and tender. Only downfall is we couldnt make a reservation for 8.
Great food great service.. what else is there in a restaurant .. oh ya.. also great mixology!!
One of the nicer bars downtown. They have good food but it can be a little expensive. They have a wide variety of drinks, wine, and beer! Great place to stop downtown.
Priced appropriately for the ambiance, food quality and originality.
The appetizer was great, but the entres were lacking. I had the tuna ramen special. Tuna was overcooked. The appetizer was pork belly. It was the best part of the experience.
I love their fried pickles so much that I have to stop whenever I'm in town. The rest of their food is also very good and they have a lot of drink selections
Excellent food and service. I especially want to thank Trista for being such a good host for the restaurant. The pork porterhouse special was amazing.
Absolutely delicious steak, yummy fried pickles and scrumptious flourless chocolate cake. 😋 Highly recommend! …
One of my top 5 all time restaurants! Great food and service. Definitely try the cheesy pickles!
Relaxed atmosphere with delicious vegan and gluten free options. The service has been professional and friendly. Whole place has a sweet classy vibe.
Great place for appetizers and dinner. Some unique mixed drinks and you have to try the deep fried pickles with cheese inside.
Love the food and beer!!
One of the best meals I've had anywhere in town. Great steaks, great drinks, and great cheese plate especially.
Food is great! Absolutely love the deep fried pickles. Good to have a medium priced restaurant downtown with great food!
Lived the cheesy pickles, a little pricey for lunch but great service and a nice brew for the visit. Server was amazing and thoughtful.

Very cool atmosphere. The view of downtown is nice. The food was delicious, and staff very friendly and quick! Beautiful place!!
Great drink selection, menu was inquisitive, had a great time!
Delicious. Great atmosphere. Quiet enough to hear the person across the table from me, loud enough that silences weren't awkward.
Great food to match the price! Half price bottle of wine night in Wednesdays is great!
Amazing food, Wednesday’s 1/2 price bottles of wine. Love the quinoa dish.
Great drinks. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Menu needs a new look.
Tom’s take: very friendly and knowledgeable service. Cheese/meat tray was fresh and delicious.
This place is so neat! Great vibes, delicious food, and Shane is super friendly and on top of his game!!! First time here and I am definitely pleased!!😍 …
Outstanding service! Delicious food! Great variety of choices!
Socially acceptable, great ideal place for lunch with conversation. Not to loud, with a delicious appetite to find your hunger.
Great service, excellent Chichester from the bar staff and the steak frites was delicious and perfectly cooked!!
Good food and friendly staff. Can be a bit busy with limited seat... that's any place downtown though.
Such a fun atmosphere! The staff is helpful and attentive, great quality food and drinks, and a gorgeous ambiance!
One of my favorite spots downtown. The fried pickles are a game changer.
The food was really good. But I got the wrong drink 3 times. Atmosphere is nice.
Food is always awesome, bar is well stocked, and the staff are helpful and friendly. What's not to love?!
Such a neat place! Had some absolutely delicious calimari and a lovely lemondrop martini. Will definitely go back!
Short but amazing food menu. Food was excellent. Great little place to go grab a few drinks and a bite to eat.
Smaller portions but very unique flavor profiles. Service was fantastic.
Food is very good, little spendy but worth it. Staff is awesome. Parking is a little difficult because its broadway. But thats to be expected.
Best fried pickles in town!
Love the daily specials. I have never had a bad meal here. I would also come back just for the pickles.
Everything is awesome. They had a seared tuna for New Year's that might be the best thing I've ever eaten.
Awesome food, server took a while to check back.. Aside that great place
This was our first time there. The food and service were both great. We will be back.
