Day trip to Fargo with some family and decided on Blackbird because of the great reviews. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff that offered to put 2 booths together for our group of 8. Waitstaff was excellent at describing the unique pizza combinations. Also mentioned a few "off menu" pizzas we could order. Went with the hummus, wedge salad, 3 specialty pizzas and one pepperoni for the kids. Ended the meal with 2 brownies (glad we did because they were soooo gooey good). Clean, quirky decor. Our only regret is that we didn't try the Lumberjack. Next time!

Best pizza in Fargo! The food here is excellent. They also have cheaper lunch prices from 11-3 every day which is nice. The staff are flalways fun to chat with. I highly recommend trying the Lumberjack pizza.

Went here for dinner with a large party of ten. They had a table for eight that they made work, which we very much appreciated. The server we had regularly came around to check on us and refill drinks, and the food all came out in a very reasonable amount of time, and at nearly the same time. The pizzas were all unique, and all tasted great! Will definitely be coming back again!

In town last night and decided to give Blackbird a try after passing on two other establishments due to hit and miss reviews. We were not disappointed at all! We had the cheese tray and marinated olives for apps, chopped salad (so delish) and The Hot Chica and Potato Anna (took that one home) for our pizza choices. Brownie for dessert. We wanted to try one of everything! For the amount of food we ordered/ate, we absolutely did not feel miserable after! I truly believe that's due to fresh ingredients. I also had the margarita wine, I didn't know that was a thing! Boyfriend had Peach beer...so good! I think the drink choices change though. Yum yum yum! EVERYTHING was absolutely fantastic! 10/10 recommend. You won't regret stopping here. 🗣 Shout out to Julia! She was our server. She knew the menu and all the details and was just so pleasant! ☺️ It appeared all of the staff seemed happy and they worked well together, which speaks volumes for their management. I also enjoyed reading the little "back story" on their menu. Love that they support local and appreciated the hard work put in by family and friends for their establishment, and that woodfire oven...wow! Great atmosphere and fair prices. Thank you! Only regret is that we live an hour and a half away. Definitely will be back!

Beautiful restaurant. The decor and atmosphere is wonderful. Simple menu with some unique pizzas. Pizza was great. The wedge salad was wonderful and the tomato soup was absolutely out of this world! Wait staff was very friendly. Will be back.

Best best in town. Love the bread pizza is made on. The woodfire pizza has a variety of pizzas and an option you can customize yourself and create your own. It's very fresh and made in front of you. Love the atmosphere of this place. Its clean and great service. Overall, one of my favorite places to go for a good pizza.

I could not wait to get off the plane and go downtown to visit this awesome pizza place! I have never had anything like the lumberjack pizza, the sweetness from the maple syrup in the egg are an amazing combination I never would have thought about. Pictured below is the desert they have for the week. The peach cake was amazing and I probably will go back to get another piece before I go home.

Unqiue and delicious pizza in a cool atmosphere with fun décor. Cheese plate appetizer and BLT, Sausage Apple, and Lumberjack pizzas were delicious. BLT is a bit spicy for those who don't like spicy, and Lumberjack sounded like an odd combination but was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was excellent too. Will be back!

Cozy place with limited menu. Wish they offered more than just dry, curry flavored wings. My pizza came out with a honey taste and apparently it was added by accident. Pizza was okay, but a bit pricey for the small size. Also should have a plexiglass barrier between space where people wait by the door and the closest table. Not overly impressed.

We went here based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The only exception was the very small 3 meatball for 8.00 appetizer. Expected something at least 2x the size, while tasty not a good value for your money. Our other appetizer the cheese bread was fantastic, hot and loaded with 3 typed of cheese and a delicious dipping sauce. The other entrée was a build your own pizza which we devoured. Will definitely come by again when in Fargo.

Very good food, interesting pizzas. We had the Lumberjack, had eggs, bacon and maple syrup. Very good, also had the Potato Anna, that one had potatoes and sour cream, another good one. If you like nontraditional pizzas, try it. They do also allow you to make your own for traditional pizzas...

The best pizza in town.🥇 Pizza 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent crust, fresh toppings, wood fired 🔥 Appetizer: Cheese bread … sometimes they let you add garlic. keep the dipping sauce if you have left over for the pizza crusts!!! Wings are very good. Could be flipped to get a little crispier. Top Pizzas: Margarita, BLT, and the byo Canadian bacon, sausage, green olive 🫒 (Trips favorite)!!!! Wife and daughter like the wedge salad. The desserts are very good also (cheese cake and brownie).

This was a fantastic restaurant in Fargo. We had the Provaletta to start and then the sausage and apple pizza, both were delicious. My husband had a flight of local beers the pours were generous. Service was excellent. Very friendly. We would happily return next time we are in Fargo.

Excellent wood fired pizza! They had some great non-traditional kinds. We tried the Apple with sausage and a wild mushroom pizza. Both had delicious flavors and a distinct grilled crispy crust. While dining we sampled some beers on the flight menu.

Blackbird is GREAT! The crust is divine. I adore their more quirky pizzas. Only complaint is that I wish there were more pizzas on the menu...They do have a "build your own" pizza option, but I prefer to have that done for me! Overall, though, the food rocks and the service is awesome.

This is an amazing pizza place! I love that you can see the entire pizza process. Love that it has a little bit of a rustic look. We had a mushroom pizza and potato bacon pizza, both were delicious. My picky 9 year old loved the pizza. Crispy wood fired pizza, thin crust, and you can custom order toppings. Server/host was friendly, attentive, and made it an enjoyable lunch experience.

An authentic wood fire pizza place, with a twist of creativity! The dining room is neat, with an interesting decor. Little relics don the holes in the walls, and also bites from customers gone by. The apps are very delicious, and the pie is wonderful! Try the special pies, or make your own! The point is that the wood fired oven brings an authentic taste to pizza, the way it should be made.

I went here with a friend the other day. I have celiac and wanted to try their gluten free option. It went well and I didn't seem to have any issues! Warning: the waitress did inform me that the gluten free stuff is cooked in the same oven as the rest of the pizza, so be cautious if you have an extreme allergy. Anyway, so the gluten free option is basically a little pan with sauce and cheese in it. No crust or anything. I would compare it to lasagna without the noodles almost. So you scoop it to eat it. The waitress was super helpful, she told me that you get a total of 6 things to add for no extra cost, and that you should add as close to 6 as you can so you can a filling meal. just the sauce and cheese isn't that much food. She also gave my gluten free Crackers to eat with it, which was super nice because it gave a little crunch to the meal. I absolutely loved it! Lastly, the meal cost me 11 dollars. The place it's self is very nice btw.

Love the pizza! Best I've had in the whole state of ND. The crust was thick but still has that crunch on the outside you want, while the rest was thin enough to give you a New York slice feel. Sauce was also perfect. (Most places have sauce that's too sweet.) Cheese and pepperoni tasted great too.

This place bills itself as "wood-fired" and the photos on their website make it look as if they're cooking up Neo-neopolitan pies. But they're not. Blackbird's pizzas are straight up Chicago-style thin. Thin crust with a slight crunch, no cornicione development and cheese to the edge. They even use the blasphemous tavern cut. Yep, that's a Chicago-style thin. Sure the pizza comes out of a wood-fired oven, but there's really no benefit to cooking this style of pizza in a wood-fired oven other than the marketing of it being "wood-fired." And considering how busy they are and how positive the reviews are, apparently that marketing is working quite well. I ordered the wild mushroom which was made with 100% cremini mushrooms. Not exactly "wild." The Mediterranean salad was an unimpressive mix of ice berg lettuce and jarred/canned toppings. Small beer list focused on local brewers. Friendly, welcoming service

I had the lumberjack lunch pizza. It was tasty. The service was good and it was served quickly. The biggest complaint is that I don't get a straw. For the love of all that is good, do not expect me to put my lips on that questionably clean cup. We are a good distance from any sea turtles so just give me the straw.

The Turkish Delight (not listed on the menu but a special told to us by our waitress) was magnifico! It encompassed a fine turkish kebab in the form of a delicious pizza. The red onions, cucumber and tzatziki were all added after the pie was in the oven, a little char on the crust and that wrapped a fulfilling meal.

Let me tell you - I am very particular about pizza. I like the crust crunchy, big flavor, and non-greasy. The small pizza that I ordered for myself and my husband’s were both spectacular and exceeded my expectations. I wish we lived closer so we could make this a regular dining spot!

Let's begin with first impressions. This place operates like a well-oiled machine. Service was friendly and attentive. The ambience is top notch. Great local craft beer selection. The smell of the woodfire pizzas is mouthwatering. I created my own pizza (you are limited to 3 ingredients to protect the integrity of the crust). It was fantastic. The only small hiccup is the lack of gluten free dough. My friend ordered the pizza bowl. It was delicious but she was hoping to have some carbs with her meal. All in all, well worth a visit.

Very well done! A great low key and eclectic downtown Fargo artisan pizza shop. Small menu that is well executed. Wood fired pizza, small appetizers and fresh desserts. We had the Wild Mushroom pizza and the Hawaiian pizza along with an order of cheese bread. If you are a cheese lover the cheese bread will be your favorite.

I love this place! They make great pizza. Thin crust that is a bit chewy on the edge but also crunchy. They have diverse topping options, but all the classics, too. The pizza bowl is great if you are gluten free or trying to watch your carbs. The space is small, so it can be difficult for a larger party to be accommodated. I wouldn't go with more than 4 people total when it's busy.

We went with our 3 teenage girls for a light lunch. We ordered only tapas. The meatballs are so delicious with a wonderful marinara sauce. The Pavaletta was yum as well. Hummus fresh and a crowd pleaser. The cheesy bread was also great. Great place.

They do wood fired pizzas right. They crust has a wonderful crunch to while it still has a nice rip and softness to it. The pizza sauce is good but I prefer going with the olive oil with pizza sauce on the side. The cheese plate is fantastic. The only thing that I haven't liked so far was the hummus. I was a little disappointed. It had a sandy/grainy texture and it fell flat on flavor. The staff has always been friendly and has been willing to make recommendations.

Haven't been here in a few years, but it was every bit as good as we remembered. Had the BLT (a favorite), the sausage and green apples ( a new favorite), and the special, which was turkey, cranberries on an oil based crust. Also tried the Mediterranean bison meatballs, very good!! Great food, great service and atmosphere!! Highly recommend a stop for lunch or dinner!

The wild mushroom pizza and the brownie were really good! I also enjoyed the cider on tap and appreciated that there was a server there who could make good recommendations based on the pizza we ordered. Our server (Grace, I think) was super nice! I also loved that they don't have straws because of the environmental impact. Excited to come back!

Wood fired pizza and appetizers. We had the Mediterranean bison meatballs and the sausage apple pizza. The meatballs had good flavor. Maybe hard to distinguish between bison and beef. The pizza also had a good combination of flavors and the toppings were golden. I wish the crust was a little more toasty with leopard spots. Overall a good dining experience and hope they can tweak a little bit to get to the excellent range.

So tasty. Those buffalo meatballs are the yummiest meat I have ever had. Three of them for $8 is a lot for me but I guess they have to male money somehow. The crust is usually cooked perfectly. Once it was somewhat raw inside, but it is great when made properly. A lot of money but you have to pay rent when you own a restaurant and staff and supplies, and it tastes great. I like the unusual toppings available and I think this pizza is healthier than most. No grease is ever dripping off of it.

And talk about food porn, the presentation of the bread plate was lovely. The place wasn't overcrowded and had a quiet atmosphere. Sure it is a little pricey, but not too bad and well worth it. This is not one of those "best places to eat in Fargo". This is one of the best places for pizza that I've ever enjoyed. We ordered three pizzas between the three of us, and although we each chose a favorite, none of them were less than amazing! Don't be scared of the unique toppings and combinations. This place was incredible.

We had great food as we always do. Fast service friendly staff. Always go back for more burgers. We have never been unsatisfied or hungry when we leave Sticky's Garage. We love there food. The salad and pizza were great. We loved everything about our experience!! The crust is made from regional ingredients. Don't try to "know better;" if the pizza has apple slices on it, just give in to the potential weirdness and try something new.

Pizza was delicious as always! Light, crispy crust, fresh tomato sauce and delicious cheese. They always have a couple of exciting special pizzas that are definitely worth the try. Gave the wings a shot this time. They aren't your typical wing as they do not have a crispy skin and they aren't very juicy. But they were good and a nice starter before pizza. They have a very mild curry seasoning with a drizzled sauce and a hint of mint. This place hits the mark every time!

All I can say is WOW WOW WOW!! The atmosphere was really cool, they used reclaimed wood on the floors and tables, and it has this cool rustic feel. Also the pizza was amazing!!! I had the Potato Anna, which was a potato, cream sause and such, so yummy!! Totally, totally recommend!!

Pizza sauce is amazing! No other place in FM can compete with the tomato sauce. Also had the bread plate as an app. and did not disappoint, we were impressed! Blackbird makes Italian quality pizza. Thin crust that is crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. The lumberjack is a pizza with 2 sunny side up eggs on it. I never would have thought of that, but it works!! The decor is really cool and watching the bakers working with the pizza oven is cool.

Awesome food and great service. The kitchen is open and they set up a stool so my son could watch them make the pizzas. He loved it and my wife and I loved having a conversation instead of telling our son we have to wait our turn to get our food everytime he says he's bored (not that it was a long wait just the typical wait time to get your order at a busy sit down restaurant). They do nice things for our son everytime we go there to keep him occupied. Definitely recommended.

This is a decent, different kind of pizza place. The pizzas have unique toppings (e.g., you won't find a plain pepperoni on the menu), and they are overall a bit more expensive than other places for what you get. The atmosphere is not bar-like at all, though, which is unique to this place compared to places like Rhombus Guys.

I visited this restaurant based on positive reviews and was not disappointed. I had a very basic pizza and it was excellent. The pizza was woodfired as advertised and Italian vs. American style. The pie had just the right amount of toppings (i.e. fewer than a typical American pie), very tasty sauce, and crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside crust. Very good. I will go back and recommend highly to others.

TLDR: Not my favorite pizza place but pretty decent and a fair price. Full disclosure I haven't tried their specialty bechamel sauce pizzas. If I come back I'd try harder to find a specialty that I'd like as you could put in egg on and that looked really delicious. And I probably will be back sometime. All of the specialty pizzas that they had used to bechamel sauce which I didn't see it as an option listed for the custom pizzas. Further, most of the specialty pizzas had Red Onion on them which I don't like. So for a minute I thought about trying one and just taking it off then I saw a big note above the specialty pizzas saying no modifications or substitutions. That turned me off so I didn't even try. Now it's quite possible that they still would have taken the onions off I may never know. I ended up ordering a lunch portion custom pizza with 3 toppings pepperoni sausage and half of it with Gorgonzola cheese. The crust: Thin, crisp and delicious as you'd expect in a Wood-Fired oven. While it was crisp on the outside it did have a nice give in the middle so it wasn't like a thick crunch it was more like a snap and chew, which is my favorite type of crust. It had good flavor and was not overly floured. The first slices I had that were end pieces that had little toppings or sauce. Fortunately the other end didn't have this problem. Red sauce: standard, it wasn't anything amazing, not was it bad. It had a few chunks of tomato that I thought could have been cooked down a bit more but overall it was decent. Toppings: The pepperonis gave that nice curl that some people like and some people don't they were the correct thickness not overly thick, or overly thin. The sausage had the taste of fennel so if you don't like fennel you may not like their sausage I do, so it was an enjoyable surprise for me. Cheese: Standard, nothing special. Correct amount used. Overall it's solid Pizza but I don't think it's anything extra ordinary or extra exemplary. The place was pretty busy when I walked in but I was seated right away and while it took a little while for them to take my order service was pretty prompt for you know making a custom pizza for me and you know throwing it in the fire. The server was pleasant and breathe which is appreciated. They probably would have sold desert had she asked if I wanted any. Not because I was left hungry with from the pizza it was actually pretty filling for lunch portion Pizza, but where I was seated I could see all of the desserts and entrees and pizzas that were coming out and I had a pretty good view of everything and the dessert that they had that day was brownie square with ice cream and it just looked really good so that's why I probably would have done it.

I've tried this place a few times, just because I keep hearing how great it is. The first time I went, it was in 2014 when they first opened and had a horrible experience. I tried it again a year or so later, and it was a pretty mediocre time. I tried the BLT pizza because I heard how wonderful it was, but I wasn't a huge fan. Fast forward to 2018: they have these great low-carb pizza options for people who decided they want to still eat pizza while on a diet (aka just a cast-iron skillet with sauce, cheese, and toppings). I thought this would be the perfect solution to have my pizza and eat it too. First of all, the skillet was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Secondly, we asked the server about how toppings worked, and she said each topping cost a certain amount, as listed under the "build your own pizza" section. I thought I'd save some $ by only adding sausage and peppers. The flavor was ok... Nothing to rave over, but I still thought $11.50 for a small skillet of pizza toppings was a little outrageous, especially because I was still pretty hungry. I get the bill. The skillet is $10, and the server non-chalantly says... Oh, I guess you could have had as many toppings as you wanted and it would have been the same price. Ok... Definitely would have loaded that sucker up and maybe I wouldn't have been so hungry when I was done. Moral of the story: don't go on a diet.
