Hard to beat the Zumbro Cafe in the always-charming Linden Hills neighborhood of SW Minneapolis. Great food and friendly staff at this super cozy bistro. The eggs benedict and Zumbro fratatta, with superbly brewed coffee and orange juice, really hit the spot on this beautiful autumn Saturday. Thank, Zumbro. Check it out! 🍁

We stopped in for brunch and sat out on the patio to eat. The atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. All the staff who walked past the table was friendly. Ordering online is an option or you can call in from the patio and place your order! Technology and multiple orders confused lines of communication and our order happened to get canceled on accident but after waiting the staff realized and quickly corrected it and gave an explanation. You can tell how much the staff cares about your experience here. Once our food was ready we were very impressed with the bacon on the avocado toast- it's great quality and cooked to a very nice crunch! We will certainly be back to enjoy more of the menu soon! A great breakfast spot in Linden Hilla!

One of our favorite brunch places in Mpls close to home. I had their version of the classic Benedict and my husband had the special with pulled pork. Both were well made, eggs perfectly poached and overall delicious.

Really, really good food. Cute, comfortable ambience. A bit crowded. Great staff. Best Eggs Benedict my mom ever had, and that's all she ever gets for breakfast when we go out to eat. Phenomenal, unique French toast. I had the egg and steak sandwich and it was properly yummy. We live in East side St Paul, and we would drive back for the food.

Excellent service and friendly staff, homey, pleasant atmosphere with honey-colored wood interiors, and a solid menu. The goat cheese and spinach frittata was delicious, along with the mint green tea. Tables are slightly cramped inside and there was a bit of a wait this Thurs/day after Christmas, but it was well worth it for the warm breakfast bite.

This is our favorite restaurant! My kids ask to go every week. The food is delicious, we love the owners, and the staff is very friendly. Favorites are the Kid's Mac and Cheese, Wild Rice Hash, Avo Toast, and of course the Fruit Crisp! Lovely dining inside and out!

The experience was underwhelming. The server who sat us didn’t tell us what we needed to know about ordering. We had to help the table next to us figure the process out, after we had to confirm with the server that online or phone was the only way to get an order in. The process of ordering by online/phone was easy, but I didn’t love leaving a tip in advance for food & service I had not received. Had the service and food been better I would have likely left a 20-30% tip, but I ended up happy that I only left 15%. My huevos rancheros were fine, slightly bland. The frittata my partner had was under seasoned and tough. Not good. We waited patiently to have our (slightly weak) coffees refilled, moved them both the outside of our table as a hint and never got any. Long after we were both done with our plates, we finally just walked out with a bit of resentment for the lack of service. 3.50 a cup should at least get you a top off to keep it warm. I’m sure that the crowd that normally eats here isn’t worried as much about the value, but for my money I would rather hit up a “greasy spoon” diner like Our Kitchen or Ideal and at least have my coffee topped off once or twice. Save your money for somewhere that can make you feel a bit more appreciated.

Amazing! Let me start off this review by saying this: If you are reading this review while walking by: STOP! If you are standing outside, and wondering if it is worth the wait: WAIT! Hands down, one of the best breakfast places in the Twin Cities. Always friendly service, Always great food. The Eggs Benedict is one of their signature dishes, and you will quickly find out why. Prefect tasting hollandaise, poached eggs, asparagus spears, paired with fresh roasted potatoes, this dish will keep you coming back weekly! On the weekends, there will almost always be a wait, but take this advice, relax, wait for an available table. This is the type of place you don't mind waiting to get a seat. Zumbro is the perfect weekend brunch stop, and it's always lively, filled with nosie, people, and fresh ingredients.

We have loved this place since they first started many moons ago. Neil and Barbara make the cafe like a small town experience. The food always impresses. Whenever we come back to MN, we try to make a stop there for some meal. LOVE, LOVE this gem of a restaurant.

Zumbro's is nestled in the lovely Linden Hills neighborhood. Their cafe may be small but it's service, quality of food and ambience are excellent. Parking and the wait times may be undesirable to some but if you plan accordingly, you won't regret a visit here! One of my favorite Sunday breakfast/brunch locations and an occasional snack grab over the work week!

Small cafe with a relatively limited menu. Yet, good selections and the food is tasty. Service is top notch. The place was busy and this was on a Friday morning. Also, parking in this part of town is a bit tough. But if you want a good breakfast, it's worth it.

They were really nice and accommodating for a larger group with a handful of kiddos. The service was a bit slow but food was yummy. I am vegan and I found like one thing I could eat. I'd return if I was in the area again.

Zumbro is one of our favorite places for brunch. Everyone is super nice and have a great service. They have awesome coffee, green tea and their food is delicious. I love the wild rice with chicken and rosemary sauce. It is served with toast and an outstanding home made jam. 10/10!!!

The food was great, but our server said that we couldn’t get bloody Mary’s because they were out of sake. Then she offered bloody Mary’s to the table next to us and said that they’re running out of the mix but could definitely make them if they wanted.... so our server lied and also had an attitude... not good service but great food

Year 2000 in Minneapolis: almost every Sat and Sunday brunch here! It was amazing... Still perfectly remember the taste of the carrot pineapple muffins... And the scrambled eggs with a strawberry on the top... Sweet remembers! This is the 1st place I'll visit if ever in MPLS again (hope never dies). Oh they are also lovely people: last time before leaving they gave me as gift a bucket with 7 different kind of muffins collected during the week. I ate them all while flying home :-)

All of their pancakes are great - I usually get the buckwheat. Also love their steak sandwich and portabella frittata. Their home fries are the best I've ever had. Get breakfast to go! It's definitely worth it.

Yum! What a gem of a place! Their cornmeal pancakes are to die for! My husband had the eggs Benedict, and the bread they use to place the eggs is thick and chewy. I only wish it wasn't so busy. We love it!

Zumbro is our weekly "go to" breakfast destination. The service is just as outstanding as their menu. Expect a short wait in a slightly cramped environment - completely worth it. My husband and 2 kids and I ate here today for lunch. Everything was delicious. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with pesto, on ciabatta bread. It came with roasted potatoes. They were tender, yet browned. Well seasoned. My husband got the steak salad. Kids had the confetti pancake and buttered noodles. 2 thumbs up from each of them. The prices were fair, service was good. We would definitely visit again!

A really excellent brunch place, none of the crazy frills of Martina, but solid, tasty food with some inventive items and excellent vegetarian options. My one complaint is that no one remembers to close the velvet curtain that keeps the inside warm in the winter. Maybe the staff could close that thing now and then? Get the eggs Benedict or the veggie benny.

Comfortable atmosphere and the surrounding neighborhood is a great part of Minneapolis. The menu didnt have a ton of selection but the food was really good. You sit very close to other tables. Outdoor screened patio is great in the summer and there are heaters during the colder weather. Friendly staff.

Love this place! I love the black bean burger so much that I haven’t been able to break and try another menu item. They also give the kids a box of CLEAN toys to play with while waiting for food. In the summers they have sidewalk chalk. The only reason that I give it a 4 is I think they need to work on the kids menu. The sandwich bread is a bit tough and thick for little ones. The pancake is larger than my baby. No need to give a child such an enormous pancake! I’d also like to see vegetables as an option on the kids meal.
