Reviews of Victor's 1959 Cafe

Victor’s is always a hit. I had the wild rice porridge for the first time today and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, highly recommend! Also, make sure to upgrade to the Cuban toast, it’s well worth it.

Worth the wait for some delicious authentic cuban food! When we arrived they said about an hour wait as there were 10 folks in front us but they didn't think most of those parties were still there. Within 30 minutes we were at our seat.
The menu was packed with delicious options but we ended up with the mango pancake and plantain omelet. Flavors were amazing and plantains were exactly what we hoped for.
We will be coming back to try their lunch options to bring me back to my days in South Florida!

There’s a reason that Victor’s 1959 Cafe is a Minneapolis institution; deeply flavorful and comforting Cuban fare, prepared with love in a cozy and colorful neighborhood location is a timeless recipe for success.
Long simmered, meats like the incredibly tender flank steak in the Ropa Vieja are accompanied by big piles of rice and beans an beautifully fried plantains. The chips were crispy and hot, and the ceviche was bright and fresh. The cafe con leche (Latin America’s version of a latte) is an absolute must for any fans of steamed milk coffee drinks.
Overall, I would highly recommend Victor’s to anyone who enjoys Latin flavors or is looking for a casual and delicious spot for brunch in Minneapolis. I’m looking forward to stopping by again soon to try out more of their delicious food.

Great staff and a NICE change of pace when looking for authentic CUBAN food to warm YOU up on a cold Minne-SNOW'ta day. The ambience is laid back and the graffiti decor, is sure to inspire the artist in you to leave your mark during you're dining experience; for it to be forever immortalized! I'll definitely be back soon, to try some other things on the menu. 🍛👀🤤

I love this place; artsy, quaint with excellent food. Great shopping nearby too! Gets busy quickly! It's fun making your mark on the wall -- bring a Sharpie!

I adore this cute little restaurant. It feels like you've stepped into a but of Cuba. The service is super friendly and promt. Food is fantastic but a little pricey for what it is. Definitely try the coffee drinks. They are out of this world delicious! We will be putting this one in our brunch rotation. It is small so try to keep your party under 4 people. Anything larger than that and you will not be able to sit together.

We visited the restaurant after hearing from everyone that is was a neighborhood gem. The staff was great and service was fast. The place was kooky and colorful with walls garnished with patrons’ graffiti. Of the two dishes, the lechon asada was tastier than the skirt steak, but both were good. The rice and beans were so so, a bit bland and sticky. The fried yucca was crispy with a fluffy interior, but tasted a bit greasy and like the oil was not fresh. It’s a local haunt, and although the food was fine the rave reviews may be based in reputation and nostalgia. I thought it was ok.

A three generation family favorite, it was great fun to revisit Victor's 1959 Cafe with my daughter. Great food, service and atmosphere both inside and out at this cozy cafe on Grand Avenue. Love you. Check it out!!

Such a unique dining experience and the food is always absolutely amazing. My favorite dish is the Fricasse de pollo! The pancakes (we got mango) were large enough to share!
Paige Guggemos
Victor’s is small and unassuming but you know you’ve got a gem when you see the line forming outside. It is always delicious and worth the wait. There are great options for all diets and lots of character, an absolute Minneapolis staple. Because of the size, I’d recommend this only for small groups (2-4, maybe 5)

I went here recently for breakfast after seeing the amazing reviews and DDD reference. To start, my husband and I sampled the tostones and cheese stuffed yucca which were amazing. I highly recommend the pork and ropa vieja. Next, we both ordered breakfast entrees which were delicious and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the savory and sweet flavors from the rice and beans mixed with the plantains. The salsa was a nice touch, too. The staff was inviting and super attentive. It’s small, but perfect for breakfast in the city!
Haris Racic
Mango Pancakes. You don’t see it everywhere, that was really good. Everything else was super good about this place, as well as the guava juice, really wanted to try the Blueberry Hibiscus iced tea, but this was a good substitute too.
Hector Salas
I will go out of my way to visit this place. ***UPDATE*** Jan 28 2022 Dining room open - have your vaccination card and ID ready. Food is still amazing … service is fast and friendly. Warning you may want to take a nap after. All kidding aside make sure you are ok to wait. This place is small but will get people in and out. No rush just great service. I came for the Cuban sandwich but keep coming back for more. The authenticity flows down to the drinks. What makes this place even cooler is the experience they created over the years. Worth the wait … bon appetite.
Alex Barrick
This place is the best. All of the food is great, but the breakfast is particularly excellent. Try the Cuban hash. The service is great. My expecting wife and I were told to go get one more meal before going to the hospital and we chose this place. Their staff made it a great experience.
A. F.
Cubano was amazing - the bright citrusy-garlic flavor of the mojo stayed on my tongue for a while after I finished eating. It was also a great addition to the Yuca fritas as a dipping sauce. The pulled pork was perfect, not a single chunk of fat or gristle in the whole sandwich. The Blueberry Hibiscus tea was delicious as well!
Kimberly Witt
Victor's was worth the wait, even if that wait for outside in the freezing cold temps! Our breakfast was delicious, the coffee was strong, and the service was fantastic. We'll definitely be back.
Chase Nelson
Victor's is a great place to get breakfast or lunch. The menu isn't massive but I'd recommend sticking to the Cuban influenced dishes on it. The space is rather small so if you're planning to go on a weekend it might be pretty packed.
Laine
Came here for a birthday dinner with my girls and it was good! We sat outside and we had a great time! Service was ok and food was not bad! Was expecting more bold flavors. Better than nothing in Minneapolis
BAYOWORLD
So the food I had was good but it came out cold and it seemed a slight problem when I asked to get a new plate...however when I finally got some hot food it was good and fresh!
I also think that I should have went for breakfast but it was so busy that if you don’t get there on time then you’ll def be waiting!
I’m gonna have to come back and see how the breakfast menu is so I can see if my mind changes for the better about this place...

I am visiting Minneapolis for a day and half and looked for unique highly rated places to go ahead of time. Victor's is one of the places I saw and knee I definitely wanted to try. I found it to be a great little (emphasis) place. I went for breakfast on a Sunday. We got there at about 8:30 (opens at 8) and we got the last two seat table. I immediately noticed more people coming afterwards that had to wait.
The server was very friendly and provided good service. The food was fantastic. I am Puerto Rican. The food is very similar and brought back memories of what my mom used to cook for me. I had the eggs with rice breakfast. The yucca and fried plantains were great. Also got a side of sausage links. They were tasty.
If you are visiting or live here and never been - check it out!
Ricky Riley
ÀOK first of all YUM! 🤤 The food was absolutely delicious! I had the Cuban sandwich with black beans & rice and my wife had the Mahi Mahi with a tropical rice (beautiful) 😁. The service was great. No wait time to be seated and our food came out pronto! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 💯💯👌🏾My taste buds are dancing with joy right now! …

Narrowed down from 7 breakfast / brunch places in the area. I am so beyond pleased.
A nice patio, great place to eat outside. The food was pretty quick, after a little bit of a wait. Ordered the special (shredded steak), a mango pancake, and yuka fries. All of which were amazing.
The Cuban Toast and Guava Jam were to die for, be sure to ask for those!
Jason Camis
Visited for brunch this weekend, our first time at Victor’s. It was great. Got seated promptly at 8:30am, but by 9:30 there was a wait. Service was excellent. Friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and plentiful. Cuban hash had great flavor, as did the corn pancake. Didn’t go inside as patio seating was perfect for a lazy Sunday morning. Overall a great experience.
Daprice M
I love Victor's! The food is delicious and service is friendly. The place is small, so not ideal for a large group and there is usually a wait, especially on weekends. Not much for parking either (3 spots or street parking). Personally, I don't mind waiting and always enjoy a walk. They also have a small patio for outside seating when the weather is nice.
Charles Simmons
Very good restaurant even got to leave some of my mother's books there Reverend Linda stampley titled have you ever lost a child really good food. C-LOC
Jenny Palmateer
Hands down my favorite place for breakfast. I always stop here when I'm in Minneapolis. The best coffee ever and amazing breakfast options. You have to try the Cuban toast with Guava Jam !!!
Cynthia Yang
Excellent services (Thank you Christina). Portion was good size to fill you up. Everyone makes you feel very welcome. Price is affordable for the size. 👍🏽👍🏽 …
Nancy R
Cute place with an outdoor patio and friendly staff. Food was pretty good. I went for a mid-week brunch and ordered the Dia y Noche, which includes two eggs with black beans and white rice. It's served with plantains and creole sauce and comes with toast. I ordered wheat toast, but know if you order white, you will get their Cuban bread (super good). The food was not spicy at all, so I used the hotsauce on the table to kick it up a little bit. Prices were decent too!
Delilah “Lulu” Bachand
Good and friendly staff. Busy place. The food was decent. The Cubano Sandwich 🥪 was very good. But the other food was quite bland for it being Cuban.
But a good place and moderately priced.
Milan Koppen
Unbeatable Cuban sandwich, paired with awesome yuca. It can’t get much better in the twin cities. Very unique setting with writing on the walls. Cute patio. Very friendly and fast staff. One of the gems.
Megan Vera
This place ..I’m just in awe, I love how authentic it makes it feel, and the food menu is made in such a way that makes you want all the items from the menu
Marina Duchesneau
Excellent Cuban food! Always quick service, flavorful food, and a fun atmosphere. Their house wine is a tempranillo and delicious! The Lechon Asado is by far my favorite dish on the menu. So for all the meat eaters out there, this one you should try. Their hot sauce is house made and also addictive. Really anything you order will make you a happy camper!
Kevin Youngblood
Island eggs according to wife were really good! I had Cuban hash, I regret not getting the rice as an extra. Beware of you sit below the duct work as shown in the pics, was dripped on a few times because it was so humid.
Bring a marker to add some graffiti!
Carol Young
Been here numerous times. Parking always an issue. Food is almost always top notch. 1 ehhh kinda experience but will still return. Wish I lived closer but always worth the drive.
Focus and Vision Ministries
Always love this spot. Husband came in uniform on Veteran's day and manager comped his meal. So friendly and delicious food served promptly!
Michael West
Went for Anniversary Lunch and was incredible just like our very first date. Amazing food and amazing staff. Will definitely be visiting again.
Rolando Villagomez
Victor's stands as one of the biggest reasons that Minneapolis is a city of great food and should easily make everyone's list of places to go in the Twin Cities. It is also a top place to catch breakfast and my personal favorite. If you are to visit Victor's come at lunch time when both breakfast and lunch are available.
It's very difficult to pick a spot to begin but my standouts are the marinated pork, corn pancake, the cuban scramblers, the yucca ❤, and marinated steak. Each dish is made with perfect understanding and mastery of Latin flavors. And there are still items I have yet to try because I keep eating my favorites!
The building, music, and atmosphere really does feel like a small , key word: genuine, piece of Latin America. This and the always friendly staff makes you forget the outside world and you're just happy hanging out here. Just be aware that this place is very cozy and I have never seen a party of over 5 here before so be very cautious when planning a group outing. But I would not have it any other way. To have such big and distracting groups would mean that the restaurant loses its intimacy with the patrons and if there's anything else I look for in a restaurant other than the food itself it is the intimacy of it. On top of this the restaurant is located in a low key part of Uptown/ South Minneapolis so it's never a hassle to find street parking and you don't wind up in heavy traffic.
So don't miss out on one of the shining stars of the Twin Cities. It's well worth your time
-Rolo.
Marigold Kinsey
Definitely coming back here when I visit town!
Jennifer
Tasty Cuban food! Close quarters if you eat inside much more room outside so I recommend going on a sunny day!
Per Sveen
The Cuban sandwiches here are amazing, best Cubans I’ve ever had. I’ve only had 2 Cubans but still they’re great.
Missy Isles
So good! We ordered the chicken and spanish chorizo paella because I had never had it before. It exceed my expectations! Well-spiced and perfectly cooked. Big portion. Super yummy!
Stacey White
Love the LOVE sandwich and breakfast is always on point here! Great beer and wine selection too!
Tu-Uyen Tran
Wow what a great dinner. The fricasee de pollo (chicken stew) was super tender and packed a lot of flavor. It came with a side of black beans and rice, which had some interesting spices that I enjoyed (my wife thinks it's cumin) and fried plantains, whose pleasant but not overpowering sweetness offered a nice contrast to the chicken. Pickup at the pickup window was easy and felt safe.
Kandasamy Ramanathan
Best Cuban Food in MN *mic drop*
*pick up the mic back* Love the Sandwich Cubano, Picadillo.. Must try.. Small and 'Scribble-full' restaurant.. Walk-ins be ready to wait at least for 20 mins.. Super nice hosts..
Ishmam Ahmed
Got take out. Spanish omelet was delicious! Will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu!
S M
Servers were great! Had the Spanish omelet with chorizo. It looked like a giant burrito with the house potatoes and meat rolled in it. Very tasty. We arrived a little after 9 am on a Saturday and had more than enough tables outdoors.
Katiuska Nuñez (Katy009fashion)
Very tasty! The portions were a bit smaller than what I'm used to when I go to a Cuban restaurant but other than that, it was delicious. I got the shrimp creole with a side of sweet plantains.
Drake Friesen
Crazy good food! Their slow roasted pork is the best
Paul Kyser
Really really good special pancakes.. Mango and blue berry. SALMON scrabble WITH CAPERS FOR LIFE!!.
Get there early.. the place is tiny and fills up very fast...we nailed it at 9am and by 10 there was a line in the mini parking lot.
Matthew Ecklund
Favorite restaurant in the twin cities. Cuban coffee that can't be beat, and really fun ambiance. Feels like a taste of the Caribbean right here in MN. Nothing like fried plantains to feel a belly and a heart with warmth
Scott Perrault
So delicious! I had their Bistec Criollo breakfast and it was amazing. The beef is marinated in lime and garlic and comes with peppers and onions. It's so good. The potatoes are big fluffy crispy and have a sauce on them that was so good. I want to go back soon!
Carlos Saldaña
My brother is new in town and wanted to know where we should go for breakfast. Victor’s was one of the first places that came to mind. We arrived and were told they were on about a 30 minute wait which I assured my brother was totally worth it. We were seated 15 mins later. Everything from the coffee, to the pancakes, the yuca, the eggs, and the wait staff was absolutely PERFECT. My brother and I are Puerto Rican and we love a good friend plantain. Victor’s never disappoints.
Rob Goodfellow
They have the best Cubano sandwich I have had in the cities. Their black beans are delicious. The staff are super friendly and efficient. I for sure I'll be back again!
Chris Marshall
Friendly staff, wonderful coffee, breakfast was delicious! Great vibe!
Fernanda Nunes Ramalho
Delicious food, freshly prepared, at a great price!
You have to try the yucca cheese balls!
Service was spot on!
Ivy Koelliker
Great find! Some authentic Cuban food in Minneapolis. Went on a Wed. Night and didn’t have to wait. Sweet plantains were where it was at!!
Joel Marsh
The flavors and smell are always very spot in in this tiny joint and very reasonable priced. You will love everything here honestly. They did it right
Kathy Litt
Wonderful food! Great flavors, not spicy, lots of GF, V and VG options. Colorful warm Cuban Caribbean vibe atmosphere :)
Leah Pinataro
If you ever come to Minneapolis, you have to go to Victor’s. It’s one of the most reliably delicious local haunts and I guarantee you won’t leave hungry OR disappointed. The wild rice and banana porridge is out of this world, among the many other flavorful dishes. This spot doesn’t take reservations and is first come first served, and for good reason. Small, eclectic, warm and inviting, you’ll want to keep coming back (and that’s a promise)!
yōkai
Great food excellent environment plan ahead always get busy on the weenkds
mindy logar
This place was amazing. My favorite food spot on my visit to Minnesota and I will make this one a repeat every visit. The food was so yum, I almost forgot to take a pic before it was gone.
Mercedes Garcia
If you like food, this is the place to be! Is a tiny cafe and the wait can be long at times...But it's worth it! Taste is Glorious
Danae Bye
Always love victor’s. A unique spot in minneapolis that always bring joy. It is a bright restaurant filled with laughter and color! Love my neighborhood spot.
Jaime Vu
Such a yummy & cozy place. "Love" Cuban Pork Bbq Sandwich was what I had. It was savory & just enough in ratio with the bread. I added the $2.50 slaw & it was perfect. Guanabana Mimosa was also delish & refreshing! Definitely going to continue trying other things on their menu!
Julia Near and Far
The atmosphere at Victor's Cafe was interesting and colorful. The breakfast food I tried was greasy, bland, and underwhelming.
Yenisell Sorrell
Born and raised in cuba...currently reside in miami....so I'm no stranger to cuban cousine. We ordered the bistec encebollado and also the fricase de pollo. Great flavor, right side portions. Decor is unique and the staff was attentive and made you feel at home. Give 4 stars instead of 5 because the coffee wasn't cuban style..it was more like american esspresso.....Cuban coffee is a must for us! But overall recommend I this place.
Tony Englund
Great service and excellent food! Highly recommend if you're looking to enjoy a solid brunch, or lunch.
Meredith Black
Friendliest staff and spectacular food in an eclectic fun atmosphere. How it took me so long to find this place astounds me. Be prepared for a wait, but it's so very worth it once you're seated.
Chris Knox
Went to brunch with 2 others. The food was amazing. I'd heard good things, but was pleasantly surprised to like everything more than I expected to. The plantains were especially tasty.
Nader Banilohi
Amazing Cuban Restaurant! I went for brunch and everything was amazing! The staff was friendly too! Great location in the Uptown neighborhood!
Sarah Bauer
Small cafe with a hearty menu. I have been impressed with every visit. Don't plan on coming here if your group is larger than four people.
John Coleman
Small diamond. Intimate, great service and great food! Some things are worth waiting for!
Christina LeClaire
I love this place so much! It’s tiny and wait times can be long (30-45 min) since they don’t do reservations, but it’s worth it. The food and coffee is sooo good. Everything about this place is pure comfort.
Sarah Barnett
Great food. Great service. Lots of vegetarian options. Loved the tropical salad. Some prices are a bit high for what you get considering it's breakfast/lunch only. Pineapple/mango salsa and chimichurri that come with the chips are both great ... But $13 is a bit high for a handful of chips and 2 small salsas.
Raj Vinjamuri
A small, quaint eatery with delicious central and South American cuisine--with the bonus of Cuban American highlights like the Cubano.
On a Saturday for lunch, the wait was about 30-45 minutes with efficient staff.
Jessica Brouillette
Love the booths covered in graffiti! Beware if you are claustrophobic. Expect a wait if you come for breakfast!
Richard Erickson
Great place for breakfast. The food is flavorful and well prepared. I especially loved the plantains. Hope to make it back for lunch sometime.
Tamara Vickers
This place is totally worth the wait! I had the Ropa Viejas and Citrus Green Tea my friend had the Cubano and lemonade. Both were absolutely delicious 😋 …
Amanda Drews
What a cute little place! I don't even like Cuban sandwiches but I enjoyed the one from here!
Craig Willford
You may have a little bit of a wait depending on when you go but let me assure you, it is worth it! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff (excepting the lady managing the wait list) and delicious food!
Sergio Najera
Absolutely phenomenal food and environment, as you can see.
Jon Grebner
Chatty diners, nostalgic posters, great staff, and fantastic food. Today, I had Eggs Havana and Cuban toast and it was brilliant.
Janet Smekofske
Best Cuban sandwiches around! Awesome staff as well. Be sure to make reservations as it is often busy.
Melissa Mayes
Cute small place. Service was good and we got our food quickly. Loved the bright fun colors.
Mac Phillips
My new favorite restaurant. The cuban sandwich is the best that I have ever had, hands down. The coffee is delicious, the Lechón is divine, and the hot sauce is the best in the world. No joke! If there’s a line, I implore you to wait. If there’s a flood, I implore you to wade! Wade and wait for Victor’s 1959. Chef Noe and the team have got it figured out. Telling all of my friends to eat at Victor’s.
Katelyn Duke
Best cuban sandwich you'll ever have! Don't forget the rice and beans it's so good!
Fazel Zare Bidoky
Super Friendly, it has its character. However, the portion of Fricase was so small and it costs 15.5 $ . I have attached the copy of receipt.
Raycurt aka FIDDLA
Cuban sandwich goes a long way through the day. Lots of tasty latin flavors
Nurturing Nirvana
Ordered the bistec criollo and it was very sub par for the price. Barely received any meat, probably received 3oz at most. Food was also pretty dry. The flavor of the meat was delicious though.
Sofia Capello
Honestly some of best food I have ever had. The pork was so juicy and flavorful.
Sarah Williamson
Phenomenal! The red espresso was great, the food came out quickly, and hot & delicious. Everything was perfect! We will be coming back!
Chip Potato
Extremely good food and fast service. Worth waiting for a table and it doesn’t take that long.
Not a huge fan of the kind of passive aggressive “please tip, we are trying to avoid adding a service charge” on the menu. People are basically going to tip what they’re going to tip, it’s just a weird uncomfortable message that seems more like a put-down of other restaurants than a genuine ask. Also way to out yourselves as dependent on strangers to determine your employees’ quality of life rather than just doing the right thing and paying them appropriately.
Maybe actually just do a service charge? A lot of restaurants in the area have done that and gotten rid of tipping and it’s great.
Andy Reggie Holloway
Excellent locals restaurant with some delicious Cuban classics
Yoonhee Park
Love atmosphere, but food tastes can use more salts and pepper ....
Julie Whelan Capell
DELICIOUS! I love Cuban food but never thought of having it for Sunday Brunch. Today I did and it was AMAZING! I had the Ropa Vieja with eggs and there was so much food I couldn't even finish it all. They have a cute little patio where you can eat outside. You can place your order ahead of time online or just order at the window when you get there. We got our food very quickly (under 10 minutes) and loved every morsel.
Erik Lindholm
All the breakfasts and all the sandwiches are great. Victor's has never let me down. There is a reason this place is busy most of the time. If you like Cuban-inspired food or want to try it out, head to Victor's.
tawsif mahmud
Probably one of the ultimate hidden gem of Minnesota. Great Cuban food, cool atmosphere and most importantly phenomenal service. Highly recommended for breakfast.
Joan Jakubas
Recently ,We catered our office meeting. It was wonderful! A big treat !
I had Lechon Asado ,a huge amount of tasty succulent pork , yuca frita and black rice and beans. More than a person can eat in one sitting. We had a hankering for an authentic experience , tired of the corporate chain choices. Our taste buds thank you Niki and cooks!
Mallory
The best breakfast in Minneapolis. The bistec criollo is my go-to, but everything I’ve had here is delicious. Guanabana mimosas: yes, please. Their staff is awesome and the service has always been fabulous.
Connor Sullivan
Ate outside and had the best experience. Wonderful staff and the food was 🤌
Nick Nelson
Being from out of town, Victor's is a place I always try to stop whenever I'm in the Twin Cities. All around a great and unique experience. I love the ropa vieja, plantains, and corn pancakes!
Madison Foerderer
Please come here. There was so much food I wanted to try - everything I had was amazing. It is such a cute place, and the staff was so lovely. Will come again!
chris mckinney
Great food, good service. Great place to try something new!
Tonie Garcia
Absolutely wonderful experience and unique food. Service was great. The Cuban sandwich was so good but tried several things and everything was great. I love amazing atmospheres like this little place. During a short wait we walked across the street and picked up a few Records from Dave?? Cool shop! After that we bellied right up to the bar inside and took it all in. Don't pass on the coffee, I usually need to add sweetener but it was full of flavor on its own. To top it off the owner (hostess) was approachable and was nice to talk to. Love this place.
Shawn Robinson
Ropa Vieja is too tough. Not tender as it should be or once was.
Dave Mariani
Good food and atmosphere, would like to see more spicy stuff
Grant Zinkl
Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Looking forward to going again when it's warmer in the morning and sitting on the patio. Highly recommend! 10/10
Cassondra Bratton
Amazing vegetarian plate!! The mimosas were powerful and tasty. Our service was top-notch. Patio has great shade and beautiful flowers. I highly recommend!
Dani
The french toast was amazing!! A light, fluffy angel food like texture paired with the cinnamon. Mango mimosas were crisp & refreshing, excited to go back and try the other flavors!
Joel Abrahamson
Great spot for breakfast especially (even at lunchtime)! Try the cafecito: a Latin-style small cup with a little sugar.
Mark Safranski
Flavorful food, great portions, and amazing service.
Angie R
I'm in love with Victor's, my all time fav Minneapolis breakfast joint. Don't skip the cuban toast and guava jam. If you're in the mood for a pancake, order the mango pancake, they are so darn good! And the coffee...every single type of coffee is out of this world
Chantal Bjorklund
This little gem is wonderful. The servers were friendly and personable and had great recommendations, as this was my first time there. The coffee was endless and fresh, the cheese croquettes were a great start to the meal, like a great mozz stick only delicate and light, and creamier because they have provolone in them along with mozzarella. We also shared one of the vegetarian platters, which did not disappoint! Very bright and flavorful dish. Soooooo many vegetarian and vegan options, I'll definitely be back for breakfast next, can't wait!
Austin Ross
The food here is DELICIOUS and different from everything else. Not enough Cuban food in my life. The staff here have always been friendly and accommodating. There lot isn't very big but they use all the space they have both inside and outside on their patio. The inside had graffiti everywhere and is fun.
There's definitely a reason this place has been in business for 60 years.
Sarah
Fantastic! This has been my favorite breakfast spot since I moved to the Cities three years ago. The food is incredible: flavorful, favorable to different diets (vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free), and perfect portions. After today I can now confirm that lunch is as fantastic as breakfast.
Service is friendly, though the servers are usually pretty busy. So, don't go here expecting them to be overly attentive to you. It's also a small space, which means you will almost certainly have a short wait for a table during peak hours.
Madeline Braverman
Amazing breakfast! Never been here for lunch or dinner, but I'm sure it's good. All of their menu items are similar, but have different combinations of rice, black beans, yuca, plantains, eggs, etc. The only downside to this place is that it is small and often crowded, and there is no where to wait inside. So I wouldn't go on a cold winter Saturday or Sunday brunch-time excursion. Such good food though!!!
Tiffany Brandon
So good!!! Victor's has been on my wishlist for years and it was awesome to finally go! We got a mix of items, all delicious. Picadillo breakfast was tangy, hearty and exactly what we needed to kick off our day. The cafecito really woke us up, the plantains and yucca are tasty, and the sauces bring it all together. Do yourself a favor and get extra sauces and guava jam, you will want them. Takeout was very easy to order and fast and the staff were super friendly. Just wish we lived close enough to become locals and can't wait until we can come try more fantastic dishes!
Raddie Ruple
Cute little place that offers food throughout the day. Lovely outdoor patio. Inside is small yet festive. Food was good. Waiter was very attentive and friendly. I don’t think the food was super exquisite or different but it had good flavor and satisfying. The yuca fries were delicious as was the mango pancake which seemed to be a regular pancake with a mango sauce.
ANTONIO BASCARO
The flavors are amazing truly Cuban, and the serving time very fast. Remeinded me the original Bodeguita del medio.
Suha Lee
I can't forget the memory of my cuba travel this summer, I found victor's cafe. The food reminds me cuba so much.
Mihalis Ikon
Υπέροχο! Delicious food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service. Despite not being super close to my house, my wife and I will be back here as often as we can manage.
Alan Dongoski
Best Cubano I've had. All the food is great. A must stop!! Just plan for a small wait to get seated, smaller seating area because it's a small building.
Ashley Christopherson
We arrived right at 9 (opening time) on a Saturday morning, and there were already people in line - it's a hopping place! I got the mango pancake and really enjoyed it. Worth a trip!
Steven Schreck
I have been to victors 3 times now and each time it has gotten better. The food is extremely good and the restaurant itself is very unique. (Currently you cannot go in the restaurant due to Covid so we ordered online and ate it in their outdoor patio). The food came out in less than 20 minutes. I can’t wait to go back!
Lucas Schmidt
I have eaten here so many times over the last 11 years. Every meal has been top notch and noteworthy. Today, I got to meet the owner outside of the restaurant business. She is as kind and cool as the food is filled with love and amazing flavor. It's no secret why this restaurant has been so successful for so long. Keep it up, Mpls needs Cuban influences.
Sweden Torgerud
Love to come here for brunch in the spring and summer! The patio is just too beautiful- lots of plants surround, so if friendly bees don't bother you too much, it's well worth it! The service is prompt as well. The portions of food are very generous and the price is reasonable.
SJ Heath
Very good! I had the Cubano sandwich & my daughter had eggs with plantains & a corn pancake. We liked everything but LOVED the corn pancake. It was so good with butter and syrup. The portion sizes were just right without being excessive. It's cozy and has unique decor. Be sure to sign a surface while you are there!
Lizzie
Absolutely love Victor's. I had never tried Cuban food before my boyfriend took me here about 3 years ago. I was hesitant at first because the interior is crazy, and I soon realized that is what makes it such a special place! I can't even pick a favorite dish. It is all delicious. Love the cuban bread with their special jam, and hot chocolate. Looking forward to sitting on their patio very soon :)
Mike Johnson
Fun, little place with delicious food! The food is very authentic and is fairly large portions. The restaurant is small and can get a big crowded but not terrible. The outside sign is small and can easily be missed from a car. It is on the northwest corner of the intersection. The staff is friendly and the service is prompt. I have been there several times and would recommend to anyone.
David Coral
My partner and I love this place for weekend breakfast/brunch. The food is well prepared and flavorful... We love the Cuban hash, mango pancakes and the porridge. This morning I had the special: Ropa Vieja, and it was great. Love the wait staff too! Always friendly and not pretentious. And now they know who we are (the Cream Guys) and that's always super nice.
Larry Yank
Returning after a few years I was ecstatic to find the same homey comfortable, flavorful delight that has always been Victors hallmark. Luv to all the quality soulmates at the cafe. The same yesterday, today and tomorrow !!! Viva la Victors !!!
Regards, Viet Vet

The restaurant is pretty good, not a bad location and the food is decent. I like the different options for Cuban food but they are more fusion and Americanized than I thought. The decor is great but the inside is small so it can take time to get a seat.
I suggest checking the place out since they're one of the only Cuban restaurants around.
Greg Abraham
Authentic Cuban food done right. My friend said she's been trying Cuban sandwiches for years, but had never had one this good. We tried four different dishes and a dessert and each one was unique and wonderful.
Patrick Hayes
Literally the best breakfast in the Twin Cities, as far as I am concerned. Exceptionally gracious and awesome staff, which in and of itself is worth coming for. The cooking and food it outstanding, and has become my go-to for all friends and family I want to take out for a reliably awesome meal. I only knew this place has existed for the past year, but I've lost count of how often I go with friends and family. I normally might be more vocal of wait times, but a) this place is understandably busy as sin for how amazing it is, and b) it is a smaller dive-style restaurant. Any wait is worth it. Normally I lose my mind when I get hangry enough some mornings and have to wait for a period of time, but after my first time eating (plantains, black beans, Cuban toast, eggs, bacon), I am rendered incapable of any negative feelings while looking forward to eating here.
Couldn't recommend it more to anyone. It is just incredible, and staff deserves huge credit for making it such a welcoming, lovely experience.
T Shaw
The Best Cubano hands down. This is a must try place! Amazing staff, Great vibe.
Caitlin Percy
Awesome restaurant, food is delicious and the waitstaff are great. Cooks do a fantastic job of keeping the meals on time and accurate. Please tip and treat them well as they have a hard job to do!
Keep in mind it gets busy so be prepared to wait in line and don't show up 30 mins before closing and expect a seat. If you want a quicker seat time tell them you'd be fine at the counter.
Have a contingency plan if the wait is too long
Sydney Barnett
I’ll give it a 5 star review for the food but service was sub par. We came at 11am on Monday, sat at the bar. The food was fantastic, we got the island eggs, the Cuban sandwich, and a corn pancake. All so good! The service was slow and we had to ask the waitress for extra coffee/water even though they were within arms reach of us the whole time
MR Logan
I've never had a bad meal here. Staff is fantastic. Cuban hash ftw!
Chrystle Hayes
Wait is still long but the food is always good. Server did forget my appetizer but it's ok. I enjoyed it after my main meal. Never go wrong with a hash
Ryan Bolduan
If you can tolerate the wait, you won't be disappointed. Everything about their food is exceptional and authentic. From their corn pancakes to the various stewed meats I haven't had anything I've been disappointed with. Definitely one of the best brunches in The Cities.
But keep in mind, going there during busy times in the winter can be brutal as you cram into the little tiny entry way just to stay warm while a seat opens up.
Amber Dahl
Host was amazing, they kept their mask on and wore it correctly. Very polite. Food is AMAZING! They do have a small outside eating area but I recommend just ordering pick up. 10/10
Rachel Childers
Probably the best cubano I have ever had. Cute atmosphere, good service. Worth the wait!
Mak wabe
Really good food. They just used alot of butter/oils.
Lizabeth Kyser
This tiny restaurant is so good. It really does feel like a visit the the Caribbean. We went for breakfast. The coffee was delicious and so was the food. My husband had the salmon omelet and it was delicious. I had a mango pancake, banana pancake, and sausage. Both pancakes were awesome. The banana was a little more subtle and the mango pancake was one of the best pancakes I've ever had.
Brittany Rasmussen
The breakfast at Victor's is great! Service is friendly. We really love this as our weekend brunch spot.
Chris Corpora
An awesome place, great food and super service!
BL Garrett
Victor's was amazing! literally had just opened back up to in-house seating for the first time during the covid era. I had the Bisteca Criollo, scrambled with rice additionally. all the flavors were absolutely amazing one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. can't wait to go back because I now wish I had bought the shirt!
Steve V - he, him, his
The cubano sandwich was sooo great! I've actually never had a cuban sandwich before so this was a great treat! Love the atmosphere as well. I'll definitely be coming back!
Anne Schmal
Every single item on the menu is awesome
Kathryn Short
This place is awesome. If you want to go for dinner, make a reservation. We didn't but were lucky to get seats at the bar. The staff was AWESOME--so friendly and nice. The food was to die for. Seriously, amazing. The Cuban coffee is so great and potent. I wish this place was on my way to work because I would get one of those every single day! We will definitely be going back. Brunch is next on our list!
Michael Hoffman
Ok...so this is Minnesota. Cuban fare is not what those from here are accustomed to. I lived in Miami for a few years and fell in love with the food and culture. This review is based on authenticity...I want to say that the food is good here. No surprises or revelations. I ordered the pollo paella and felt it was very generic. My so ordered the picadillo and was not impressed. Maybe after this covid we can get back to a more real food experience.
Julie Schlichte
So delicious! Amazing food and service! Highly recommended! I had never tried Cuban food prior to my visit to Victor's 1959. I'm a wimp with spicy food, and they offer both spicy and non-spicy options for every meal. The bistec (marinated in lime etc.) was fantastic and I'm craving it! Wish they could deliver down here to Texas! I'll return next time I'm in MN!!!
Robert Gerhart
The classiest dive I've ever been to. The food was absolutely great, and the servers were attentive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Try the meatball appetizer (I forget the name). The only weak spot was the drinks; they appear to lack a full liquor license, so they make up for it with a nice wine selection and some wine-based mixed drinks. Skip the latter.
We will definitely be back to try some more of these tasty dishes.
mick monday
Great service amazing food deff visiting every time im in town
Cortnee Muhlbauer
Did they get new owners? Haven’t been here for about a year and tonight the Cuban Sandwich and Yuka/Mojo tasted different. It seemed a lot more expensive than before too? It used to be our favorite special treat!
William F. Bidinger (TazWarner)
Victor's Cafe is a gem of a place. It's very casual with delicious food. The Cuban sandwich is the best I've ever had then some coffee with sugar paste as dessert. Be sure to make reservations as there are only 10 tables inside with a few stools at the front bar. There is outside seating that you can take full advantage of on nice weather days.
Rick Maki
All I can say is wow. What a great little place. Food was awesome
Michael Brown
It was a great breakfast. Atmosphere was great and the staff are very helpful. We ended up making sure we had leftovers for another morning at home. Never having been to cuba I think it was authentic cuisine. Worth a try for sure.
Eric Schmid
Stopped in for a Cuban sandwich with beans n' rice and I definitely get why they have so many 5 star reviews. Really a killer sandwich and I will absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Todd Bakken
Great food. Had their daily special which was shredded marinated flank steak with peppers, onions, and their creole sauce. It was fantastic and came with two eggs, choice of toast, and some sweet plantains. I'm not a fan of plantains and have actively not ordered many a dish that even referenced them. These were good so I'm sure someone who likes plantains would probably love these.
My one knock was "our" waiter who didn't do anything but bring our check before we were ready, we had just ordered some Cuban toast with guava jam from a different and wonderful waitress who actually did everything despite saying she wasn't our waiter. Our waiter then proceeded to imply we were being slow, our total time at the table for 4 of us was less than 60 min, was then confused when we wrapped our individual credit cards in our individual receipts.
Matthew Nelson
Breakfast special was fantastic! Lots of flavor and cooked well. Coffee was red espresso latte were very good. Inside was cozy but not too tight. Be sure to get there early for breakfast.
Leo Idiarte
This is my FAVORITE place for breakfast in Minneapolis! The food is amazing and so if the atmosphere of this place! I have been coming here for years and I could never get tired of it! 5 stars all the way!
Amanda Worthington
It was fine, not really an authentic Cuban experience, I lived in Miami during college and was excited to go but there's nothing really Cuban on the menu, besides the plantains everything is American dishes with a Cuban twist. The coffee was pretty bland and didn't actually taste like espresso for the cortadito.
But the food was alright and I don't have any complaints besides it didn't live up to expectations
Nick Brandt
Boy, this place is amazing. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food is fantastic and the service matches that. It's also a really small place (like really small) which I think is fun and it makes the atmosphere very unique. Call ahead if you're going at busy times, sometimes it takes 2 hours to get a spot (did I mention it's small? And that people love it?)
Betsy Marvin
Nice menu selection, friendly waitress. Picadillo was a tad bland, not as tasty as dishes I've had in Florida, but their portion was right sized with nicely fine fried plantain, and a good side of rice and black beans. I'll definitely go back and try more.
Patrick Boylan
We were so excited to visit here... This is a great little eclectic joint but the food is mediocre at best. The atmosphere is great and has a old school Cubano or South Miami cafe feel. You can write on the walls and add part of you to the ambiance. The ropa vieja and picadillo were fairly bland with the black beans and rice tasting like they were from the day before. My first order came out cool/mildly warm and when I asked for a reheat my food came back blistering hot in less than a couple of minutes. My kid had the Cuban sandwich that she liked very well but at $14 it should be amazing.
Kyle Lysford
Went for dinner, got a Cuban sandwich and it was excellent. I went with three other people and everyone got something different, and everyone though their dish was worth 5 stars. The atmosphere of the place is great, very unique. Will definitely be visiting again.
Kirstin Sinner
Victor’s Cafe was a delight to visit! I’m always up to visit a Triple D restaurant and Victor’s did not disappoint. The menu was unique and the food was delicious! I’ll be back for sure! Only 4 out of 5 stars as the alcoholic beverage list was quite short and the appetizer portions were smaller than expected. I would still highly recommend checking this place out!
Krista Anderson
This is my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. I've been going since it opened, and I can't wait for better times to be able to eat inside again. My favorites are Día y noche, the black bean burger, and the love Cuban pork bbq sandwich. ❤
Steven jackson
“Best Cuban food in Minneapolis!”
Locals flock to Victor's for it's wonderful, flavorful food. Been going about once a week for years because it's THAT GOOD!!! The restaurant is actually fairly small, with limited table service, but well worth the wait. Food is off the hook delicious! Not sure what to order? The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This place shines in the warmer months with outdoor dining.
B Cook
A must visit. The restaurant is super tiny and crowded but the food is really good. Breakfast is definitely better than dinner but both are delicious. The wait can be 30+ mins if you try to go on a weekend after 10am, especially when they aren't offering outdoor seating (which is a lot of the time in frozen Minnesota). Make sure to ask for guava jam for your toast.
Kathia Fernandez
Different atmosphere than expected, still cool though - I'd say they're going for city hipster feel. Super small space and uncomfortable, but the food is fantastic and the best dessert ever with the xango and guava sauce. Yum!
Cynthia Erickson
Victor's is a cozy little place. I expected the food to be spicier than it was, and since it wasn't, I had no trouble eating it. We tried almost all of the appetizers and they were good although some were rather bland. The happy hour included beverages only. I would consider returning.
C
What is great about this place? The food. I went there for breakfast with my parents and most of what we were served was delicious and unique. Despite my low rating I think any respectable Minneapolis foodie must go to Victor's.
Why only three stars? The atmosphere is a bit wanting. It feels like eating in a shack which could be quaint, but there is next to no sound insulation and you're elbow to elbow with your neighbor on rather uncomfortable booths. The service was really mixed too. Our waitress was a delight but the server who handled the wait list, sat us, and attended to us a little was downright patronizing and rude.
Anna Barrick
Obsessed. I get the Cuban Hash, with white rice, Cuban Toast, and Guava Jam. I order a large mango pancake to share with the table, and typically guzzle down about 4 mimosas. We come here strictly for breakfast/brunch (their morning happy is so legit!) To celebrate birthdays, Valentine's, holidays, anniversaries. It's a bit pricey for what we like to indulge in, hance the special occasion meal. The smaller your party, the better chance you'll be able to squeeze in up at the bar vs. waiting a minimum of prob 45+ mins for a table (usually over an hour wait, but this is the one place where I feel it's worth it).
Sharla Johnson
Great Cuban food and atmosphere! One of my favorite places to go. Friendly staff and great outdoor and indoor seating. Not too big, which is okay since that means not surrounded by a ton of people. Dot be afraid to ask your waitress for a sharpie to leave a memory! Would be 5 stars but I think it would be awesome if they had a small children's menu. My 3 year old will only really pick at the black beans.
Valerie
Great service. Food was okay, but I wouldn't recommend the ceviche. It was flavorless. The plantanos was cooked perfectly. Meat was delicious. The Cuban sandwich was pretty good. Very reasonable pricing. Not the restaurant if you're looking for atmosphere. It's a tiny shack with graffiti on every surface.
Cdab 10
Cool & trendy spot to go to grab a bite to eat. Not over priced and good portions. I got steak and rice with plaintains which wasnt bad. And the pina colada cake which was good but very dry. Not much parking. And the place is very tiny if your claustrophobic so be aware.
Amando Komoda
Get the Cuban sandwich, and it'll just make your day better.
Kelly Pereira
I don't know what a real cubano sandwich is meant to taste like, but theirs was amazing!!! Perfect combination of flavours! Took a while to get our food but Tina was a great waiter.
Tim Hagstrom
Our family always makes a point of eating a meal at Victor's when we are together. During these covid times the meal is pick up instead of dine in, but food is always fresh and delicious. Staff are kind and helpful.
DA
I love Victors! I come almost every morning, the breakfrast is AMAZING, reasonably priced, and fresh, you have to try their Mango Mimosa! You'll love it. I have at least 2 every time I go, and they are so good paired with the mango pancakes! My favorite local spot of all time!
Zach Massa
I hope your socks are properly glued to your feet when you eat here otherwise they are getting knocked off. The food is spectacular, I can't speak to its authenticity but if this is what food is like in Cuba then I need to learn Spanish and how to fix old cars cause I am headed down there. The wait staff is great and they move people through that little restaurant as fast as they can. If you are coming on the weekend be prepared for a long wait, its a small place so there is normally a line out the door. Heads up though they will do carry out.
Faatin Salekin
The staff was kind enough to give us a table at dinner time even though they had all their tables reserved as we came in 45 minutes before the next reserved table. The dish we ordered off the dinner menu, Ropa Veija, was good but not great and definitely not worth the price. We paid around $18 total for our dishes when the quality was just worth $12.
I was a little disappointed at the fact that they don't have homemade coconut water or guava juice and did not put the drink in a nice glass at least. The canned drinks are a little over-priced. I would give the restaurant 3 and half stars but because one of the staff members was kind enough to come out and return my ear muffs I left on the table, I give this restaurant 4 stars.
As far as re-visiting the restaurant, I have not yet decided. Their competing Cuban café close to Mall of America, Guavas, has much better food and atmosphere which I definitely plan on revisiting.
Adam Goldberg
So I went to Victor's after hearing only good things. Got here and realized the wait to get in was rather long. Everyone in line told me that it was worth the wait. I'm not a fan of Minneapolis and I avoid the city like the plague. But Cuban food is like kissing the face of GOD himself so we made the trip into town while narrowly avoiding several accidents we found Victor's...the Smell alone was worth the trip to the city. The food.....the food was like basking in garlic and lime beaches with waves of Mojo lapping at your bare feet. the service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and inviting despite being VERY BUSY I would attest this to them loving their job. The coffee was decadent. The Cuban toast was something from beyond this earth. GO HERE, EAT HERE, MAKE A NEW FRIEND, and LEAVE AS THE HAPPIEST PERSON YOU WILL EVER BE!!!!!!!!
bless you victor's, you have made this country boy a believer.
John Schafer
Great Cuban food - really enjoyed the food at this place. We all had something different, and we all loved everything that we had. We were there for brunch, and they had breakfast & lunch menu that was perfect with lots of choices (a really good selection). Makes me want to go back and try other things. The place also had a certain unique charm to it. From the outside, it does not look like much at all. And on the inside, it still does not. Graffiti covers the walls & everything in sight, but it's done in such a way that I did not sit and read it (could not possibly read everything), but it all became background because there's so much of it. Only drawback to this joint is the wait. They only have 10 tables + some counter stools. They do not have enough space to serve all of their patrons, so you will have a wait to get seated. While the food is good, just not sure it's worth a long wait.
Bella Grace
My boyfriend and I are trying this new thing called "brunching". Usually, I do not wake up early enough to get breakfast/lunch but this is a way that we bond on our days off! We tried out Victor's 1959 and this place is so cool! Parking is a little difficult to get in/out but don't let that deter you from going. You walk into the restaurant, and there are only about 10 tables and a dining bar with graffiti all over the walls. Our server was so fun and explained the menus, food that we weren't familiar with, and gave us a pen to make our mark on the walls. We ordered a few things to try a little of everything but my favorite was the Bistec Criollo! Basically it was steak with sauteed veggies and eggs - how can you go wrong?? Some tastes I wasn't crazy with, but I think that is because I don't eat Cuban food too often and I'm not a huuggee fan of plantains, but I would go back and get their steak and add beans and rice! The whole experience, customer service and food choices were excellent. This is one of those places that if you are new to the area or haven't been, you need to check out.
Lauren Moffett
I really enjoyed my recent visit to Victor's cafe. The food was great - definitely unique in the metro area, and I also thought the price was reasonable. It's important to note that part of its charm could prove problematic for bigger groups. The cafe is extremely small, and I would recommend not going with more than four people.
Robyn Finkner
This was a fun place to come. Another MN eclectic restaurant! Very small neighborhood eatery. The service was great. The food was excellent and you need to leave room for dessert. We had never had Cuban and was this was a great place to try.
L BK
We had reservations on a snowy night, and the place was mostly empty. Cool location & decor. Almost right away we had an unpleasant server experience. I had asked for some advice on a couple bottles of wine, & when the server returned she carded me & my husband (we’re 40+). Neither of us had our IDs (our fault), I think we said a couple “really’s” and “my beard is gray” but then dropped it. She however did not. So I can say the food tasted good, but the evening was one of hostile conversation interruptions & under breath mutterings for the entire time we were there. Weird and unnecessary.
Nanci Mendez
Their fried plantains! Delicious! Mimosas delicious!! Their paella was good, not the best. A bit mushy for my taste.I would definitely go again and try more of their unique Cuban dishes.
Bhavesh Shasane
Awesome place to try Cubano in Minneapolis. Nice, cozy and a very old style
Simon (SimeTime)
Great food and atmosphere. Good service Unique, charming, and really, if one complains about this place, the issue is probably with the complainer. It's humble and also great cuban food, which makes it kind of faultless.
Vanessa Boualouang
Great service by Tina! Went for brunch and the food was delicious and the coffee was amazing. The serving sizes are huge so you'll most likely be taking some home. Be prepared to wait for a table though!
Supra Hans
Food is excellent. Highly recommended for breakfast. Been going here for at least five years now. Really love the atmosphere that the servers give the location. Highlights are croquettes, Bianca, Ali (sp?), anything guava, the old cuban toast, yucca and anything with black beans!
Bako Orionzi
Small space but totally worth the wait! Great Cuban food for good prices. The plantains are amazing and the Cuban toast is perfect for a group to share while waiting for your meals.
Carolyn Sanders
Whenever I have friends or family in from out of town, I always bring them here for breakfast. They have a Cuban menu and an American menu. There's fun things like guava juice, red coffee, and mango pancakes. They have a colorful garden for outdoor seating. There's often a wait because the space is small and very popular.
Hasith D
Amazing food. This place is first come first serve basis, at least on the Sunday lunch hour which we were there. Very busy place so we had to wait over an hour to get it(Sunday lunch, so understandable) but it was well worth the wait. We really liked the atmosphere and the food is amazing. Must go if you are in the area.
Arianna Madison
Plan to eat here tomorrow, have eaten here before. Food is amazing, drinks are awesome, so many great things. Saw a review that said their menu was "eclectic" which is NOT the case. This is very traditional, latin american, Cuban food. If you go to a Latin American restaurant and expect a hipster detailed menu, this is not the place for your egotistical, bigoted point of view. This food is traditional, and simply beautiful and there's nothing more to it, except for the originality in the space. Do not think this is your go-to hipster joint like modern times in the south side, mpls for just any breakfast. This is quality food, with quality service and quality time well spent.
amzailia M
I rated 4 because I love the food here....love....love.......love.
If I had to leave a review on the servers it would be a 2. The one girl was okay but not really tentative to my husband and I because were at the bar and the other girl was simply rude AF to my husband and I. She had blue hair the day we went....she acted like a snobby punk and because of HER my husband refuses to go back which means I can't go back because dinner with him is what we look forward to every night.
I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the Cuban feel it has (I'm part cuban) and Cuba is known for its friendly and personable people and I think the servers they hire need to reflect the culture...not just the atmosphere.
Alexander MacKenzie
Nice spot with an authentic vibe.
However If you've been to Cuba you will notice a big burger shaped hole in the menu. Your nostalgic hunger for those unique Cuban burgers with their uncommon side pairings will not be satisfied.
Kayla Hag
Beautiful gem that we found, very authentic and relaxing and family atmosphere. The ropa vieja plate was absolutely to die for, and the Cuban sandwich knocked it out of the park. We WILL be back!
Tf Mhl
Fantastic menu. Professional and nice staff. Friendly service and a great dessert menu. The guava empanadas are of particular tastiness. Always welcoming and good place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just hanging out. Everyone welcome!
Arasu S
The food is very good, but I can't say it's fantastic. Felt like the food could use more zing. They weren't bland, but could use more spice. The ambience of the place was really cool. Lots of personality with the scribbled walls and tables. Service was fast and friendly.
larry brown
Food was amazing and authentic!
Grant Johnson
Best breakfast in Twin Cities, probably in Minnesota. I don't know where they source their eggs and beans and tortillas but everything is truly outstanding. Coffee is great, atmosphere and staff are top tier.
Never had an "OK" meal there, every time it floors me and I have never brought anyone there who wasn't blown away!
Cynthia Kunakom
Excellent service. Great, delicious food AND dessert. Don't be shy to ask the server if you don't know what you want, they are on top of it! I like what they recommended. My friend likes what they recommended. So you probably would too!
Giffard Hodgson
Brunch offers some fun pancake options to get on the side! Prices are a bit steep for a small pancake, but it's worth getting to try. The mango and corn pancakes are the most popular, but our group didn't have any trouble choking down a blueberry one too. Mango pancake has real mango chunks in it!
John Kasper
So much character and care in the way this operation is presented to the customer. From the atmosphere (the patio can't be beat if weather allows) to the menu where the authentic Cuban dishes are unapologetically right at the top (the dish was at my table less than 10 minutes after I ordered btw). I am no expert on authentic Cuban cuisine, but I left a very satisfied customer!
John Weirick
Little dive with lots of character and simple patio. Good-sized portions and tasty Cuban sandwich and black bean soup, plus great tangy guava BBQ sauce. Prices were a bit inflated for the ambiance.
Desirae PK
Great little place.
I'm by no means a Cuban food expert but popped in here for breakfast on a Friday and wow was it busy! Be prepared to wait and know there's not much room in this place to loiter while you wait for your name to be called.
I ordered the Bistec Criollo which is very small, thin sliced steak marinated in lime and garlic, sautéed with green peppers and onions, topped eggs, served with yuca frita and toast. Soooo good. Eat it.
Definitely give this place a try if you like your restaurants a little dive/grungy with a side of great service.
Jamie Potter
HANDS DOWN, THE BEST BRUNCH IN MINNEAPOLIS!!! The food, the staff, the drinks.... everything amazing
Ethan Elumba
If you’re looking for something unique for breakfast, this is definitely the place to go! Although the restaurant is small, the vibe and ambiance will take you away from the harsh Minnesotan cold and transport you straight to the caribe. They have traditional Caribbean foods Such as tostones, yuca, rice, and beans, and put new twists on classics like their Breakfast Americano. I got the huevos cubanos, and would 10/10 recommend to anyone! Very flavorful sauces, coffee, and food!
Nellie
This place is so fun! Lots of writing all over the walls and tons of trendy 20-somethings getting mimosas and brunch on a cold Uptown morning. Not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options, but what they did have was delicious. Definitely has that cool post communist vibe and Cuban flair.
Claire Tenscher
Authentic Cuban. I had the vegetarian plate, white rice, stewed beans, fried yucca, and fried plantains. Tasted very similar to the rice and beans I got while in Cuba, the only thing missing was the side of guava and the vinegar. It isn't the cheaper rice and beans I've ever had and the wait was pretty terrible for a cloudy Sunday afternoon. But overall eating here was very pleasing!
Lucdave D
As someone who grew up on Cuban food, I can tell you that this place is the top!
No "fusion" or "bistro" style here or food scaled down for Americans - you'll get true tasty food just like mom used to make.
¡Que bueno!
Susan Pohl
It's cozy and the food is so good!!
Bryant Rodriguez
Great food, excellent prices. Definitely coming back for another plate.
Diana Lasher-Babcock
First stop after leaving the airport. She asked me if I like small local places and I do!
It had all the feels of a beachside kiosk on an island in the Caribbean :)
We sat outside, banana plants, people eating and talking, children laughing.
I can’t remember the name of what I ate but I wrote the ingredients so I can attempt with my own spin. Ground beef, potatoes, green olives, raisins, capers, served with a couple of eggs and sweet plantains and toast.
Yum yum and more yum!!!
Gabe
This little place has great Cuban food. Make sure to make a reservation, only because it is a small place. Their Cuban sandwich is awesome, and make sure to sign the walls like everyone else. You know what!? Just go there for their pina colada cake. That is addictive.
Cassidy Ramirez
Really awesome food. Great atmosphere. Very accommodating to small groups. Wasn't super thrilled about the high gratuity rate or paying liquor tax on already expensive drinks. Definitely would go back for food and desert options.
Riley Brennan
The food was fantastic. We ordered the Cuban sandwiches and the ceviche and both would be highly recommended. The sandwich was flavourful with everything in just the right combination. I had ordered it with the added chorizo, which was okay, but I felt that it did not add much to validate the extra few dollars. And the pulled pork was a little bit drier than I would have preferred, but overall, an excellent Cubano.
As for the ceviche, a perfectly refreshing lemony seafood combo, not too overpowering in any one area.
Abby Barnard
Cute place! Food was as expected. Service was quick.
Lauren Christianson
Some of the best breakfast in the cities. Try their hot chocolate, you won’t find anything else like it! Great spot to take out of town visitors.
Mike Schleif
I've been here twice - for weekend breakfast. Quite a small place and expect a good wait.
Nevertheless, having lived most of my life near larger, heterogeneous urban areas, I assure you that this is the most authentic Cubano restaurant you will find in several hundred miles!
Be adventurous! Try something new and prepare to be amazed! Each time I've tried new things and shared with my partner. She, too, loves the food here.
We must come back for dinner ...
Dan Thompson
Cozy, warm space, delicious food.
Wes Scott
We ate at Victors on this past Saturday night. We had no reservations but these squeezed us in. The Cuban coffee was absolutely fantastic. The food was seriously too notch. I would highly recommend Victors to anyone looking for fantastic Cuban food.
Ismail Umer
Such a great brunch place. Order the hot chocolate. Bring an appetite and maybe a sharpie to sign the wall. The cuban toast is a must have. Small place, so expect a tight wait depending on when you arrive.
RobertJ Denison
If I can miss the rush hour I love the uniqueness. Hate the parking. ALWAYS have to spend the time to enjoy the coffee even if I'm running late. GREAT and enjoyable service. It's too painful to wait through rush hour, so plan early or late but don't torture yourself by watching others enjoy what could have been yours.
PG P
was here a couple of weeks ago and stumbled upon it while exploring the neighborhood. Fantastic staff, ambience, and great outdoor seating. Interesting people watching. Good food. Will be back with family. Come here on a bike ride!
D C
I had heard great things about Victor's and decided to try it out for breakfast. The server was not the nicest person as she didn't seem patient for a first time Cuban restaurant patron(as I explained to her). Ordered the Bistec Criollo and the steak was flavorful but chewy so I don't know if it was over cooked or sitting too long. I am willing to give lunch a try but it won't be a must have for me!!!
Ashley Jannatpour
Not a lot of options for people who eat different diets like Paleo or keto. Most of their menu options include rice or beans with no substitute available. I suggest the following: a lot of restaurants you are able to substitute a salad, etc instead. Service was great. We ate on the patio and it was a beautiful day so one more star for that and being a family owned business.
Mitch Diehl
A small Cuban restaurant with the best Cubano sandwich in the city. I am ashamed to say I have only had the sandwich but it’s so good! The yuca bites are a nice and crispy side, served with a thin, citrusy dressing.
M M
Had looked up breakfast near me on our way home in traffic and Victor's popped up. Cute cuban themed restaurant with writing every where. Amazing food and such a friendly server. They're coffee was delicious. Wish I took pictures to share before devouring.
Cathy Schlegel
Great breakfast, guava juice was really nice. French toast is good, but it's more cake-y than bread-y.
john Huckeby
I have never been in a restaurant that has smelled so good in my life. I waited in line for 20 minutes, I was mesmerized by every plate of food that came by. I could not wait to be seated. When I was it was worth the wait and was quickly brought my food. I prematurely had an orgasim in my mouth. I recommend this t every friend and say we need to go there just for an excuse to go back. Only thing that would of made this better is if I smoked a blunt before hand.
Lynell Williams
The food here is excellent - don't pass up the chance for ropa vieja and sweet plantains. The ambiance is unique and fun. Seating is tight and maneuvering between booths a no-passing-only affair. Sit outside if weather permits; you'll be a lot more comfortable.
Andrea Bott
Very small place! If you're going on a popular night, make reservations! It's nice to sit outside. Definitely not much to look at but the food is good and different from the usual fare. Make sure you try the desserts. Super good!
Emily
Amazing food, laid back atmosphere, and great service. For happy hour would recommend the guanabana mimosa. For dessert the flan and pineapple cake are both great options. For dinner there are lots of delicious dishes - especially lechon asado and the chicken and chorizo paella. And surprise... this is also a great spot for brunch!
Terry McIntosh
We stopped in here while we were in town to ski and feel in love with the place. The food was amazing and service was good. We shared a handful of appetizers before we ordered or entrees. We are definitely stopping here again the next time we are in town!
Willow Muscovitz
Super fun and unique place. Mango dishes and rice plates. The patio is nice, but it's also a treat if you decide to eat inside. There is writing all over the walls, marks of those who ate before...
Lauren Samani
Yes, the food is worth the wait but at the same time you could do without. Also to correct some of the reviewers on here, it is not totally authentic. The cuban bread is regular multigrain bread sliced differently, they dont have colada, traditional meals are served in large portions and arent overpriced ✌️ Skip the line and take a trip to Miami instead✌️
Alyssa Volkmann
Loved the service and the food, the atmosphere is a nice aesthetic too. The cortadito was delicious :) Would def recommend for south minneapolis folx looking for a delicious breakfast with fair pricing and good portion sizes.
Joshua Rose
Victor's always has a wait but it is worth it! Love eating outside when there is nice weather. Try the Cafe con Leche...it changed my life! Everything tastes amazing but be sure to try the Cuban Toast!
Tom Weaver
Just as good as any Cuban food I've had in South Florida. The lechon asado was tender and so flavorful. If the guava and cream cheese empanadas are on the menu you won't regret ordering them!
Mary
Expect to wait but so worth it every time!! Small parking lot and plenty of street parking. Black beans are amazing, I always have to get yuca frita with mojo sauce, and the mango pancake is as good as everyone tells you it is.
Mr. Schaffner
Incredible food. Quality and service is top shelf! The atmosphere is fun though space is a little tight. The plantains and the flan are world class.
Ted G
If I could eat anything I wanted without any health consequences, I would have the Basque Scrambler with a side of bacon added for every meal for the rest of my life and I would die happy. Seriously good food.
Steffi Johnson
I love coming back to here whenever I can and am visiting Minneapolis, "Do you have a preference for brunch?" Yes. Victor's.
It's amazing food, haven't had a bad thing yet. Their brewed coffee is some of the best I've had in Minneapolis.
Space is small, get there early or be ready to wait. Waiting may be tough in the winter, not alot of space to stand inside.
Try whatever looks good to you, and trust that it will be amazing.
Anthony Metzen
Quite a unique experience. I was happy with the food, but my wife did not think her meal was described well in the menu. Very, very busy and you will have to wait for a table generally. Friendly staff.
Katherine Fines
I caught up with a friend over an enjoyable brunch. This was the first time I'd had an omelette here, and I think next time I will return to my old stand by of Dia y Noche. Victor's does a better job with that, or maybe I just missed it.
My friend had the porridge and said it was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful as usual, and the patio was shady and relaxing. My only compliant is the patio chairs. Oh, how I would've loved some padding!
Christi Brandenburg
We LOVE Victor's! My husband, best friend and I bring Minneapolis visitors here as often as possible.
It's tiny and cozy, with charm for days, styled like a Caribbean beach bar. Reservations are highly recommended, as space is limited.
The pre-revolution Cuban food is exquisite, with beautiful colors and layers of Caribbean flavors. Note- it is NOT spicy hot, so heat-lovers shouldn't expect it, but people who don't love blistering chile peppers can taste new dishes without fear!
We normally order like pigs, and this visit was no exception. We started with tropical mimosas & mojitos, plus Yuca Rellenas, crab cakes, and a variety plate of cheese, beef, and chicken empanadas. They are so yummy!
In truth, we could easily make a meal from Victor's appetizer menu alone.
However, we came prepared to indulge, so our group went for the Cubano Sandwich, Lechon Asada, Pollo Tropicale, and Victor's signature Ropa Vieja.
All are familiar favorites, with meats slow simmered until tender, generally accompanied by black beans, tropical rice, and oh-so-delicious sweet plantains.
Save room for some Cuban cafe con leche (coffee with milk) to top off your meal. I could drink this stuff for days.
Service at Victor's is normally top-notch, with enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and attentive staff.
I rate this place 5 stars for food, ambiance, and the level of service I know they are capable of delivering.
Unfortunately, this particular visit was disappointing for service- there were three servers on duty with only a handful of tables, and we had to specifically flag down our server for almost everything we needed- as in: excuse me, we're ready to order now...please bring boxes (after sitting for 10 or so minutes with forks down), can we get more water (our glasses sat empty for too long)...a dessert menu...please bring the check... She seemed very engaged in cleaning, sweeping, and chatting with her coworkers, but not very interested in us. This group of former servers and bartenders knows how to both give and recognize good service, and strive to be good customers who are easy to take care of.
We all tip 20% as a rule, but left only 10% this time. This server's inattention cost her $30.
We're hoping she was just having an off day.
If this happens to you, please don't judge Victor's by that experience, as it is not the norm.
Emily
110% worth the long wait! Get here early and SAVOR the experience. I love Victor's cuban twist on breakfast, and while I have not tried the lunch menu, I don't think I ever will because the breakfast is always so fabulous! Be brave and try some of the exotic sides too! You won't regret it. Oh, and give the soursop mimosa a try, I can promise you'll never want orange juice again. Yum, yum, yum! 5 stars all around.
William Owen
As a semi-serious man who isn't a big fan of food from South of the border, "Oh My God." This place is delicious, small, classic, incredible, I cannot use enough adjectives to describe how amazing the food here is. An amazing ambiance in which I felt like I was hundreds of miles away. Incredible is the only way I feel is justified to describe Victor's.
Mando Monica
Great food, ridiculously loud music and poor acoustics. Grumpy waitress insisted that they would not turn down the music, even though she could not hear what we were trying to order. Seriously, yelling to the people you are sitting with is supposed to be the hip vibe they are going for?
Sam Flood
We gave this place a full blown 5 Stars! The atmosphere is super unique, which could give it 5 on it's own and the food was delicious. We had brunch at this spot and it was great. Highly recommend Victor's.
Lauren Brooks
The food and atmosphere are unbeatable. If you have wait for a table its worth it! The hash is my go to for a breakfast!
Ricardo Hernandez
Delicious Cuban food if you're familiar with it's smells and spices as well as the use of yucca, plantains, black beans, cu a coffee ,cuban hot chocolate. Me and my 16 year old daughters personal favorite plates to eat breakfast or lunch or dinner is the omelet featuring salmon. It is very small and quaint, everyone can leave their own marks on this restaurant because magic markers are provided so you may let folks know you've been there.
Alex Adair
This is the best brunch in the twin cities. I hate to tell you this because there already is a much-deserved wait every time you go. I have had most brunch items but the bistec criollo is my favorite. It's amazing. Add rice and 🥑 to make it next level 👌 though everything there is already top notch as is. Dinner is good as well. Disfruta y salud!
Matthew Duffy
Best Cuban Sandwich I have ever had
Sabrina Spörk Woodling
SO.GOOD! Can't vouch whether or not it's close to real authentic Cuban food (since it's the only I've had) but it's delicious. Don't forget to have their pork, yuca frites and their guava mimosa!
Ethan Meyer
FANTASTIC! No doubt this unique corner restaurant tucked into a Minneapolis neighborhood deserves a 5 star rating. The menu makes my eyes go cross as every option looks as good as the next. Eating here will make me have to review all my previous reviews for other restaurants.
Jamila Anderson
The food was beautiful and the atmosphere is adorable. Small and cozy and full of life, you feel like you're not in Minneapolis anymore. The kindest staff. I loved it!
Gunnar Anderson
The cuban food here is delicious. They have fantastic cuban barbeque burgers, with perfectly crunchy chips. I don't know if there is anything actually bad about this place. The walls are signed, and you can spend some time just reading them. Coke, not Pepsi.
Andrew Muehlfeld
Delicious! Fun atmosphere. You feel like you've left the country while you're inside. Servers were all friendly and helpful. Small, but not crowded. Get a reservation for dinner on a weekend.
T. D (Qte)
The breakfast is always delicious! Yes there is a wait most times but it's always worth it. The staff and cooks are great. Victor's cafe is one of my favorite hidden gems in South Minneapolis!
Ricky DeMello
Service was fantastic in helping select great food to share between the two of us. Could use a place out of the way while awaiting a spot on the bar or a table but that becomes a rather simple matter to overlook when you taste the food. Suggestion: mango pancake with blueberries. 👍👍 …
Michael Freeman
Yes yes and more yes. Another one of those classicrestaurants that if you're not paying attention you will miss. Definitely go inside the character is amazing here. What a great compliment because the food is also off the charts great.
Rik Olsen
I haven’t been in awhile but I have only great things to say. The tropical mimosa is amazing and my fave meal is the crab cake Benedict. It’s busy for a reason guys!
Nate Vance
Amazing Cuban food in a fun atmosphere. Seating is a little tight, but they do take OT reservations. Do yourself a favor and get their Cubano!
A couple of parking spots directly in front of the building, with plenty of free street parking nearby.
Tim Athey
The yuca fries with the home made Cuban ketchup will rock your world. Meatball appetizer is good, small so order 2 sets if you have 6 people or so. The Cubano is my go to, with chorizo, and it never disappoints. I will add a photo of the food next time I go!
Jessica Wicklund
Pros: Food was absolutely delicious! I had the bistec criollo ($11.95)- it was amazing. It is marinated in lime juice and garlic and comes with green peppers, onions, two eggs, yuka frita and toast. Plenty of food to fill you up. My fiance got basque scrambler ($11.95) which he said was good too. Less food than the bistec plate. We also had mango mimosas ($8), which were very good.
Cons: Prepare to wait to be seated on weekends. In the end, the meals were a tad over priced for the quantity.
Would recommend for a treat!
Nicole Andersen
This is a lovely lunch/brunch place with a fun vibe, friendly staff and amazing food! I highly recommend parking a street over and walking in because parking is limited.
David Arnold
A quirky, popular Cuban inspired dive near Uptown. The food is great, the ambiance is not upscale, so if you're looking for that, you're not going to find it. I call it a quirky local dive where you can write on the walls if that is your thing.
Isaac Krieger
I have been here twice. They have very good food but service is hit or miss at best. We received terrible service my second time here - quite possibly due to the automatic 20% gratuity added on to our party of 6. I would not recommend over the other great restaurants in the area.
Neil Ross
Absolutely wonderful menu and servers who are hardworking, earnest and lots of fun. Victor's loses a star for the insane wait they require of patrons during most preferred periods. No food, anywhere, is good enough to impose such discourteous waits on patrons. Think reservations!
Katelyn Schramke
We had such an excellent breakfast here! I had the crab cakes and a side of plantains and they were both WONDERFUL! We also had great service. I highly recommend Victor's!
Jacqueline Abilla
Cozy and nice little restaurant in a transitional neigbourhood. Waitress was attentive and food was excellent. The hostess welcoming the guests had a negative attitude and unwelcoming aura (took away from me giving the establishment a 5/5)
Keegan Miller
Amazing food, great service, and engaging interior. The ropa vieja was excellent, and the platanos fritos were perfect as well. They truly bring a little piece of authentic cuban cuisine and atmosphere to Minnesota. Thank you for the great experience!
Stacey Lynn
My fiancé and I stop here everytime we visit Minneapolis. It's a great little spot & worth the occasional wait to be seated. You cannot go wrong with the pancakes! The blueberry & banana are my two favorites.. it's always hard to pick between the two. My fiancé & I usually order one large pancake and share it, along side our individual breakfast orders. We love the vibe inside & the music. Staff has always been super friendly & great.
Anna Quintero
Visiting from another state and haven't eaten here in 10 years but the place hasn't lost any of it's authenticity and charm. Awesome food and service in a great location. Should not be missed. This is one go-to place if you're in the area.
Benjamin Angell
Always a wait, but always delicious. Best for small groups. Fried plantains are bomb, great breakfast choices from Cuba. Cuban hash is recommended.
Dario C
I had been hearing great things about Victor's Cafe for quite a while and I regret not coming sooner as the food, staff, and the setting were excellent!
My entree was the fricasse pollo, which was very tasty, and I was going to try my S.O.s entree but it was gone when I turned for a bite... needless to say we'll be coming back.
Joseph Barisonzi
Awesome breakfasts. Great service. Authentic cuisine. Great prices. Come for the black beans' stay for the yuca fries. Return for the mango cheesecake.
Bjorn Iversen
Love the ambience here! Since I've discovered their island eggs - smoked salmon on an English muffin topped with perfectly poached eggs and orange avocado sauce - I can't seem to order anything else!!
Robert Speer
Outstanding food and service. This is a great little place that is as good as I have had in Florida. We drove it an hour home and it was still good.
Val Mota
The best cuban/caribean food joint in the whole state, plain and simple.
Reasonable prices for the quality of food being served here, it's actually the only place that keeps me sane during the long winter months up here in Mn and it helps me miss a little bit less my birth city of Miami and the delicious cuban cuisine.
Chris Smith
Breakfast/Brunch is the best meal here - the moros and cristianos are always good. Dinner is also good - the signature meals are all delicious. Beer selection comes up a little short, but they have a decent wine selection.
Sharon Ramirez
Wonderful Cuban restaurant. Very cool and funky decor. A favorite of family and friends for breakfast and lunch. Our favorite foods include Cuban Hash, Dia Y Noche, Bistec Criollo and Mango Pancakes. The Yuca Frita is very good. A recent favorite of my son's is the Cuban Barbecue sandwich. It is very popular, and there are usual lines of people waiting for breakfast or brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. There are usually no lines during week days.
Andrew Fernando
This place has a great vibe about it and a very unique ambience. The food of course keeps me coming back for more. Best place in town for some good Cuban food. Try it out and you won't regret it.
Willard Puckett
Loved the ambiance at Victor’s. We had the Rancheros Cubano and the Dia y Noche for breakfast. Very tasty. Portions are perfect. Highly recommend. It was my first time to Victors - I was visiting Minneapolis - but I plan to return.
Natalie Peterson
Victor's is always amazing. We went early at 8:30 to avoid the wait and it was wonderful. My two year old and I were able to have a booth to ourselves and enjoyed fantastic food and service.
Michael Turnbull
It feels and tastes like 1959 at Victor's. Great food but also great menu. I had the Cubano this is the real thing. Great patio but get there early.
Becky Washburn
The most delightful & delicious place ever!!
Jeff Hagadorn
Excellent Cuban food with all the requisite spices, fruit and vegetables necessary. My favorites so far have been the Cuban hash and mango pancakes.
Nicola Koh
Such great food and mimosas! Chicken stew dish, pollenta, upside down pineapple cake, and other gorgeous dishes. Also love the walls covered in people's scrawlings through the years!
Ben Stewart
One of the best breakfasts in town. Giant mango pancake + Cuban hash + bottomless coffee = an incredible hangover cure. Dinner after the ciesta is great too. Lots of fish on the menu
James Lipscomb
Had the Cuban sandwich with red beans and rice. Excellent. Gotta love the graffiti on every inch of the walls. A testament to the many folks who have enjoyed this little place
Alexi Bryant
Go elsewhere for vegetarian.
Seriously, it's a cute cafe with good food. But to change out sausage for veggie sausage was $7.50 PER SANDWICH. I know upcharges are normal for a subsitutes- I have had a lot of vegetarian fare- but I think the highest I have seen elsewhere was maybe $3. When your upcharge is a dollar or two off from your whole meal, it's too much.
Dawn Snyder-Volk
Pros: The food is AMAZING!! The service is friendly and the drinks are outstanding.
Cons: Very, very small (restaurant and parking lot) and you need reservations if you're going to get a seat!
Ian Holsman
I do so enjoy the Cuban with plantains
Trevor Prater
Hot damn this place has some good food. I got the Arroz a la Cubana with fried yuca, sweet plantains, and Cuban toast with guava jam plus a mango pancake. Everything was delicious.
The only odd thing was they wouldn't tell us how long the wait would be.
Michael Baill
Wonderful cute local Cuban restaurant. Wonderful food and reliably fast. Great curbside pickup. Would go back for sure.
Kayvan M
Victor's is classic. Only place to get Cuban breakfast that I know of. Been coming here since the 90s. Anybody giving poor reviews is absolutely delusional. Get the Ranchero Cubano w eggs poached medium and make sure you add rice. Also, Cuban toast w guava paste is amazing!
Luis Ortiz
Pretty authentic Cuban cuisine in Minneapolis. Had the lechón asado with an extra order of tostones (probably my favorite side ever). The pork was good, although the lime was a bit overpowering for me. The tostones were delicious, but I would have preferred to have the sauce on the side rather than already on them. The garlic mojo was good, but also a bit too much on the lime flavor. Also, the service was a bit slow but that was understandable given the popularity of the place (there was wait the whole time we were there).
Phoebe Goldman
Delicious food, excellent service, and a fun, distinctive location. Everything on the menu is good most recently I tried a lamb stew which was one of their winter specials, and it was incredible.
Chad Lang
I'm an out of towner and went with some friends. Weird little place with lots of writing on the wall, but the food was so good. Service was great, but make sure you get tere early or you'll be waiting.
Ryan Sundberg
The food was perfect, the atmosphere is exactly as you'd hope it would be and the staff were very friendly!
Oh yeah, the house made hot sauce is amazing!
Nicholas Kangbateh
I sat outside with my girlfriend and had a Cuban sandwich. Despite the rain, the sandwich the music and staff were incredible. The weather couldn't dampen our experience. I highly recommend the Cuban sandwich!
ashraf darweesh
Staff was awesome. Food was even better. Tried three different meals and none disappointed. If you've never had Cuban food then this place is where I'd start
Becky Gildea
Go for brunch and get the bistec criollo and a mango pancake! Always a solid choice. Also wash it down with their awesome coffee! Victors is always a solid choice, they are consistently delicious.
Steve Rehberg
This was some of the best food I've ever had. Kinda spendy but you get good sized portions
Nate Russo
Great food, great service!
Sonal Kaulkar
The Cuban sandwich was very traditional.
Seth McCracken
The food was amazing! And I love the handwritten graffiti on the walls, may have added to it myself ;) staff was well versed on the menu and gave great recommendations, plus good service
Ashwin Mathews
Food was good. Love the vibe. Had quite a wait though even though I ordered in advance.
Anthony Maki
You should really go here. Victor’s is a fantastic teeny hole in the wall restaurant serving up fantastic Cuban fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The interior is probably just as big as the patio, so it’s cozy, but the food will be soooo worth the claustrophobia you might get.
Alex Rose
Got the Spanish omelette, was kind of bland to be honest. Needed a lot more creole sauce and maybe some kind of crunch like peppers inside the omelette.
However, their guava jam is fantastic and they have MANGO MIMOSAS!
Daniel Shub
Absolutely amazing. Cuban sandwich best I've ever had!
Mango passionfruit cheesecake blew my taste buds out the back off my skull. True story.
bo
Yummmmmm! This is the best Cuban brunch place in Minnesota. Their Bistec Criollo for breakfast is the best! The beef is marinated with onions, green peppers and their mojo sauce, and then skillet fried. I always get it over rice with a sunny side egg over it. The yucca on the side and mojo sauce is delicious--I could put that mojo on an old shoe and it would be amazing. They recently started buzzing up the mojo, which makes me a little sad cause the original version had great texture and depth. If beef isn't your thing, then try the other vegetarian options. The mango pancakes are also some of the tastiest things on earth.
Eva Cain
Phenomenal food, weird (but delicious) champagne cocktails. Perfect place for brunch or a nice dinner! (Definitely order the yucca frita and thank me later...)
Rama J
Absolutely love it. Everything about it, so much character yet laid back. Great food, simple menu with things most people actually want to eat. Wonderful staff too!
A M
Good quality food with reasonable portion sizes. Yummy desserts too! Not many menu items though, and little space for parking. Also cramped seating arrangements.
Carl Benson
Best breakfast in the Twin Cities and it isn't particularly close. I strongly recommend sharing a corn pancake at your table; they're absolutely delicious.
Nicolette Reker
Food was delish, service was great. Cute environment, definitely go back! Thanks guys
Lex Talionis
If your're going here for breakfast, probably save your money and go elsewhere for something better and cheaper, but dinner is where it's at here. It can get a little spendy, but Cuban food isn't easy to come by in these parts and they do it really well here.
Jason Anderson
Visited Victor’s on a Monday. We didn't have to wait at all. The Cuban slaw, mango pancake, and the am special were all amazing.
Roger Fried
During Covid they have the same wonderful flavors but they do suffer from not meeting their pickup time promises. Annoying but still one of the best meal available.
Jeremy F
Try the Sandwich Cubano! And leave your mark on the walls, the lights, the booths... at this cozy corner restaurant!
Stephen Rossiter
The Yucca fries and fried Plantains were highlights as usual! The dessert special of a guava and cream cheese empanada was quite tasty too. Fun colorful ambiance!
H MF
We've been coming here for years for breakfast. It's always delicious. The service is always friendly and awesome. My daughter and I would be lost without our Victor's.
Joel Houge
Very good food, but the price is INSANE, $7 for a pancake.
Josh Steel
My favorite breakfast spot in town
jerry evers
If there were more stars this would be ten stars! Food was excellent and so was the service. Authentic Cuban food and desserts. I could eat there every day!!!
David Herold
Though the restaurant is very small and tucked away, the food is phenomenal and the service is great. I have never had a bad meal there, and havent found anything on the menu that wasn't top notch
Ted Tulon
Love this place. It is always a highlight of our trips back to Minneapolis. Food is exceptional, staff is very friendly, and the coffee is top notch.
Marina Suarez
Love the authenticity in this great little hole in the wall, I love taking friends who've never been here. Love the brunch, but I honestly always just get the love sandwich anyways
Sasha Renee
I love this place! The food is fantastic. Great service and a fun atmosphere.
Joanne Thiede
Loved this place! Went with friends and we each tried each others meals: lechon asado, ropa vieja and the cubano sandwich. All were delicious and worth the wait. Quaint restaurant, friendly staff, great apps, dinner and drinks.
Jessica Paske-Driscoll
Love this little neighborhood gem! Worth the wait for the food and the price can’t be beat. Quirky and fun environment too with outdoor seating available in season.
Michael Shields
Consistently awesome food and if you like mango, order the mango juice....enough of orange juice...Great service and great food!
Kat Pi
Favorite place for breakfast when I'm in Minneapolis! I dream about their banana pancakes. Mmm. Small, fantastic food, long wait at times but ALWAYS worth it.
Becky David
Authentic, delicious meal. Prompt, friendly service!
kimberly velez
I loved it. Food was fresh delicious well prepared and that Caribbean seasoning style that I so love and miss. Being from Miami helped me get that home style cooking. 👍👍 …
John Wharton
Great food and atmosphere (if you're into quirky little restaurants) Try anything that has their creole sauce on it and their fried plantains. The red tea espresso is also fantastic
Adam Wright
Go here always and eat everything.
Seriously.
Seriously, If you've never been to Victor's, and they're open while you're reading this, stop whatever stupid thing you are doing and go there and wait until you get to food.
You're welcome.
Also, don't expect to park very close.
Victor M. B.
Great Latin food! Yuccas are on point
Morgan S
Cute, small interior. Fun decor. Yuca was good as was the homemade hot sauce. Cuban sandwich was dry and tasteless.
Katie Weimer
We loved it! The guava mimosas was one of the best I've had! The food is great and definitely worth the wait getting a table!
Gabriel Douglas
great for a weekday meal, or wait a bit on the weekends. Cuban inspired cuisine, friendly staff, smaller booths, that are very fun!
Repair King King
Love it. Good food, good service small intimate place, and I go back. The criticism is at some point they need to expand space. Aside from that that's a good place to go try out
Lee Kessler
Excellent always a treat the hours reduced & lot of street work still a big treat & worth it 9-230 on wens
Nicole Bindner
Great atmosphere. Great food! A MUST GO MINNEAPOLIS STAPLE! Mid-range prices and usually a bit of a wait unless you get there at the right time.
Nichole Banks
Delicious! Small, so don't go in large groups, be prepared to wait, but it is very worth it!!! Food is incredible and the atmosphere is so fun!!
Kyle Heikkinen
Got the lechon asada. Fantastic! The yuca was perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I enjoyed the cozy, colorful atmosphere of the restaurant and will return!
Pamela Stone
We went here after having already eaten so that we could enjoy a Cuban coffee. The coffee was well worth the trip, the people are really friendly, and the food which was being served at nearby tables looked amazing..
Lutfi Tardia
The food is really good.
bedearborn
Crazy good. I'll be dreaming about the cubano for the next week. The tamarillo hot sauce was so delicious we bought a bottle to bring home. The mojo was amazing too!
Alex Cabrera
Food was alright overall. Used to authentic Cuban food so I have to be somewhat bias. The space itself, with all the graffiti, was fun.
Sarah Collins
This amazing place has tasty and unique dishes, it's super popular, it's a small space, and there is great service so you won't be disappointed.

Love their breakfast. It's small, if they're busy you'll probably be on a small wait, but definitely worth it.

Always delicious, friendly, funky. Accomodates all vegan/ vegetarian/omnivore/carnivore diets. Try the Spanish omelet...yum!

Super cool little eatery and the food is top shelf. If you can go during a weekday your wait time will be much less. Worth the wait though.

Oh, Victors. What can I say?! The Mojo Sauce here is to die for. I buy a 16 jar once a month. The coffe is superb. And the Bistec Criollo is mouth watering. It’s a large portion and can easily be shared. The line can sometimes be long, but always worth it. Also, the Sake Bloody Mary is pretty delicious.

On a keto diet, and everyone was very accommodating. Atmosphere reminiscent of an easy corner on a tropical setting, great team, and sublime food.

The only place of its kind. Breakfast here is my favorite! The Cuban coffee kicks a&$, and the food is just incredible. Simple and delicious.

I have been searching for some Latin restaurants in Mn and every time I found one it was not what I expected. Then I found Victor's. The food is delicious I had the Ropa Vieja lunch special.... uhm uhm uhm, this dish took me back to my Latin roots. The shredded beef was perfect, black beans, rice and fried plantains made the rest of the plate amazing. Victor's has quickly made in my top 10 favorite restaurant. If you find your self in the area and even if you are not stop and get some amazing food.
