Reviews of The Monte Carlo
Consistent service, cocktails, and food fare make the Monte Carlo the best patio experience in the Twin Cities. The best dry rub chicken wings in the Twin Cities. Great variety of fresh made beverages. Great variety of food choices.
The wings and Caesar salad are staples. The staff is incredible!!! ❤️Carmen, Olivia, Liz, Amy, Nicole, and the team are simply the BEST. Thank you Tony and Denise 👍.
Monte Carlo is a pleasant surprise! I’ve walked by it a few times and never thought anything of the regular rectangular brick building with its brightly lit “Bar Food” sign, we visited on the evening of 12/30, checked in with the host and told there was a 20 minute wait. Fair enough for a busy Friday night, eventually 2 spots opened up at the bar and why not order drinks while waiting? We chatted with the lady enjoying her dinner, as it turns out she was the bartender’s mother- she gave us a run down of what to order and even a sample of the Beijing wings. We were hooked! Of course after we were seated at our table we ordered the sample platter which included the Beijing wings, fries (ask for the Beijing seasoning), shrimp cocktail, potato salad, green beans. I would say this is one of the better sample platters I’ve had. I am definitely team Beijing wings, they come out hot and full of so many flavors- I couldn’t identify all of them but would love to go back to see what other spice notes I am able to pick up next time. The rest of the platter was good. The Caesar salad was okay.
The restaurant over all had a nice flair to it with the full bar, oldies classic vibe to the staff uniform. It’s a mix of casual and elegant.
Edits made: call for reservations!
Yummm! The wings are great. The green beans are the best I have ever had (I would eat veggies if they all tasted like that!) and the guacamole/tuna was delightful. Martinis essentially came as a two for one (you kept the shaker and had a second on deck). Great atmosphere. Awesome patio.
The cocktails... even if you don't usually, do this time. Friendly and chatty service. Just the right amount. Outdoor seating, a must visit! Delicious nibbles... huge portions to share. A little pricey... but just linger longer.
The food is solid, but at this price point it feels really expensive for what you get - including tip, it was about $95 for lunch for three. It's a cool place and I can appreciate the history, but I wish they'd step up their food game a bit. Maybe I haven't been getting the right things. I hear the chicken wings are good!
Really cute venue with a cozy patio atmosphere! The menu was pretty limited with no vegetarian options but did accommodate the special request. Service was pretty slow but it was busy so it didn't seem unreasonable... Overall a nice evening 👍
The salmon I enjoyed was very juicy while also being very crispy. The potato salad was delicious! I really liked the sampler platter & my Southside cocktail. He was pretty impressed as well, loved the steak! Can’t wait to stop in again
This is a very old place that has been around for about 100 years! Traditional old-fashioned, fare like fried chicken, chopped liver, meatloaf, and such. The cocktail menu has drinks I haven't seen served for a long time like Rob Roy! A good experience and a trip to the old days!
Update: 7/29/2022, still the consistent plan place! We went there on a Tuesday and the place was very busy! A good sign post COVID. Btw- they have a huge selection of liquors.
First visit - nice little place with friendly staff. The food was good and reasonably priced. It wasn't very busy when we were there so we received good service. I would visit again and try something else on the menu.
Since it is located downtown parking could be an issue, but there is a small parking lot right next to the building. There is also some street parking.
Awesome place. Great customer service, everyone was helpful and all smiles. The atmosphere was welcoming and the decor was in great shape. It was probably the best "medium" cooked steak I have ever requested. Perfectly done. Pricing was on par with what you'd expect from a place like this. I appreciated the attached parking lot, considering it's downtown Minneapolis. I'll be back and have already made recommendations.
I have NEVER had poor service at Monte Carlo. I have NEVER had a drink I didn't love. I have NEVER had a wing that I didn't cherish. Yes, I have only ordered the wings at Monte Carlo, but when they're the best, why order anything else!? I'm always looking for another reason to go back. It's a great date spot, too. The vibe is definitely exclusive; not too dark, separated just enough from other guests, and luxurious but not stuffy.
Not a lot of food options, but the outside patio is really nice and spacious.
Dined outside (a few flies, local said because of the lakes it's a Minnesota thing). Enjoyed the food. Very friendly waitress.
One of the best (and biggest) patios in the DT Minneapolis area. If you’re concerned from a Covid standpoint, all servers wear masks and the patio area is great.
The wings are great - more of a dry rub style but have a nice sweeter flavor and kick (but no sauce comes with it, for you sauce lovers). The muscles were super good with a very rich sauce and very fresh (with plenty of baguette).
The cocktails were the star of the show - the Southside was a great drink, and 1.5 to 2 total cocktails-worth with the shaker, so it’s a great value.
A well known landmark of North Loop that until recently I had yet to visit but now having done so can't wait to visit again.
Superbly crafted drinks (The Bourbon Side Car was phenomenal and their non split base Sazerac was one of the best in the city. Damn strong too.) A welcoming wait staff and an atmosphere that can't be beat.
If drinks and atmosphere aren't enough to convince you to stop by, The food will be. A clean Menu free of clutter with only excellently prepared dishes with the Wings and Green beans both being dishes that are noted as requirements for a visit.
Always good 😋 Great place for good food no matter if it's for a date or out with family and friends. Staff is always welcoming! …
Went and got the fried chicken and fries for lunch today, & it was phenomenal, the waiter John was nothing but amazing, he was attentive, tidy and very presentable. I felt welcomed, and respected, and by the time I was done eating I was so full that I even forgot my bag of takeout. I realized by the time I got home and called the restaurant and they were kind enough to keep it for me as I came to pick it back up when traffic died down. Talk about courtesy. EXCELLENT SERVICE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, WONDERFUL PEOPLE.
This was probably the most delicious best restaurant experience my partner and I have ever had. The food was SO GOOD. The atmosphere was beautiful and our waiter was so nice. It's nice that you can dress up or dress down based on what you're celebrating. Just an absolutely lovely place/experience I can't wait to go back again.
I just ordered a salad, but OMG what a salad it was! We sat outside and the atmosphere was very nice. It was not too busy or loud and a warm breeze blew just right. The waitress was amazing as she was aware that I was in a zoom call and was careful not to interrupt or walk behind me even. The salmon was prepared perfectly, definitely going back here.
If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. Olivia took great care of us and was extremely personable and kind. Excellent patio vibes. Classic steak house but even better fish. Great walleye, excellent salmon and perfectly cooked steak at our table. Very well stacked bar with fantastic selections!
Whether it’s celebrating a special occasion or craving a quick bite, this is my go to spot. Their Monte Carlo dry rub wings, Caesar salad and more are a favorite, with a most impressive bar! I miss the Pizza Lavosh, though. Classy all the way!!! I
They have one of the best patios in north loop. But the service and food are not good. I have been there two times and both were disappointing. My cocktail was at room temperature even though it was made from sparkling wine. When I asked it the waitress said that everybody likes it. Then I asked ice and she brought ice in another glass with no spoon or anything. I had to pour the ice which spilled around, then I had to do it with my bare hand which is unacceptable for a high end restaurant. We ordered calamari, fish and chips and cheesecake to share with my friend. Calamari and fish & chips were undercooked. The batter was not fully fried either. They also didn’t accept our feedback. With the dessert, the waitress brought the check even though there were plenty of available places. It was too rude and we decided not to order a desert wine or coffee after it due this approach. I still give three starts due to the location and patio.
We just shared an appetizer, a main dish and a dessert as two people and only had one cocktail per person, we paid 50usd per person w/o tip.
Great spot to take a beautiful woman on a date! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the views of the North Loop. Our server John took great care of us; the wine and pasta was fantastic! It was my first time there but it won’t be the last thanks to the great service and food.
Very interesting place. Never been here before but good things about some of their food items. Loved the decor and the waitresses dressed in old black/white maid like outfits and guys in white coats black pants for a throwback look. Menu had some interesting items on it (meatloaf sandwich sticks out) but I had walleye. I've had better walleye unfortunately. Calamari was good. I did have it, but the guacamole looked different.
While the general experience was good I wasn’t terribly impressed with the balance of price to quality of the meal. I thought my filet itself was great but the drinks and sides were definitely lacking. One of the main examples of this was my cocktail experience. I got an Old Fashioned and was sorely disappointed. I was expecting a high quality cocktail but what I got was a watered down drink in crushed ice. Overall the cocktail felt way more like what I would expect from a sports bar on happy hour than what I would expect from this staple of the north loop.
Best bar in Mpls! The Monte is a classic! Huge cocktails, great wings and excellent service. The menu has shrunk a bit post Covid but the classics are still on it including the Billy Reed Caesar burger and walleye. Great patio in the summer!
So why did I give it a 4...great question! At least with our bartender...The drinks have not been upgraded to the glasswear size and pour ratios of like supper club and steakhouses.
Best old school experience...my father introduced this place to me when I was a teenager....been going ever since!
We always have a great experience at Monte Carlo. Most recently, we showed up on a whim with a larger group and did not have a reservation. They were able to seat our party and provide excellent food and service! We look forward to coming back.
Not a bad thing to say! Service was friendly and accommodating. A short wait for a table on the patio was well worth it! The food was delicious. I had the salmon and would have it again! Their tinis were amazing!! I recommend ordering a green appletini.
I had the wings and the green beans. The wings were good, nice and juicy but I prefer wet wings over the dry rub. I also had a chocolate martini. The drinks were on the pricier side but enjoyable.
Come for the best and most romantic patio in the north loop. They are not stingy on the drinks and the service has always been wonderful. Probably the only place in the neighborhood to get liver and onions. They don’t make ‘‘em like this anymore. Absolute summer al fresco staple.
Stopped by for snacks and drinks. The wings were very good, fries and ranch were also tasty. We had a couple old fashioned as well and they were ok. Service was fast and friendly!
great staff wonderful.private atmosphere. the steak and wings were good. not the biggest fan of the soba noodles or the burger. get the steak!! can't go wrong
Sometimes you need to treat yourself to a steak and a tall glass of Chardonnay! For an appetizer we started with the green beans were recommended by the server, great suggestion! I had the filet minion and it was outstanding and cooked exactly to how I like it. We also ordered a New York strip, baked potato, and roasted red potatoes. Your sides will come à la carte here so it is a great way to try out a lot of options! Bread is also offered which was outstanding and still warm to the touch. The menu is very limited currently but still an amazing array of options to satisfy your appetite. The service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable! I will be returning to the Monte Carlo as soon as I’m back in the city again.
Thanksgiving evening and we enjoyed their consistent high quality experience and delicious food. The manager was attentive checking in and our waitress was very good !
The valet was fast, the bartenders friendly and the food was fantastic. We had the sampler appetizer platter, it was a lot of food that was yummy (calamari, chopped liver, wings, shrimp and Szechuan beans). Our favorite was the calamari with a close second the wings. The plate was so much food for two that we could have stopped there but decided to share a crab salad sandwich on pumpernickel. It was good. We'll be back. Easy parking and you can eat inside or out.
We visited The Monte Carlo on our trip to Minneapolis. The food and atmosphere were very nice. It was probably the best calamari I have ever had.
Very good! Would definitely eat here again! A little cramped in the interior but the food makes up for it.
Amazing first time experience! Beverages were strong via price for sure....food was superb! Amazing visit
Àmazing experience. Historic, arty, fantastic! Wings were the best dry-rubbed ever in my experience.
My sister was in town and she wanted to go there.
The chicken wings were awesome, hamburger and the chocolate cake was delicious!!!
The waiter (Cole) was great! Made sure our table was taken care of.
It was not as swanky as the last time we were there. Tony, the host, was wonderful. Our service was good, but the food was mediocre. I had the meatloaf sandwich on rye bread. It would have been better without the rye bread, which wasn't toasted and had no spread, butter or any kind of seasoning or texture. Just rye bread that overpowered the flavor of the meatloaf, which was pretty good. The baked potato was cooked well, served only with butter and sour cream. No chive or anything that made it pop.The meals of my companions were also described as ordinary. It's a wonderful space, but the menu needs some uniqueness or something special. There are too many good restaurants in the Twin Cities, so it'll be a while before we go back here.
Atmosphere is good, pear martini was very good. Wife liked the salmon, the Cesar salad was very basic but dressing wasn't over powering so it was good. Some shaved parm and a couple croutons would have been nice. For the price grated parm is an insult. The lemon pesto chicken was bland and would not get again. They could do a lot better with small changes to their menu. Google says it's a steak house, it's not. Looks like a possible steak house but only has 1 steak option. Service was ok, slow to serve once seated, once they showed up to take our drink order it was OK until we were done then we waited a considerable time for a check. I would consider the place again for drinks, not sure about meal.
The Szechuan beans and fried chicken were fantastic, best dry rub I've had in a long time. Exceptional service from Carmen and the manager, Brent. Very friendly and charming guy! Will definitely be back!
The food was exceptional and the service was amazing we had Olivia and she was awesome! The manager (Brent?) came over and was such a delight! What great management and service!
Great place overall! A classic '50s dining (but not tacky) kind of look, helpful staff, and they even had a really good selection of bourbons - my Old Fashioned was fantastic. The food was good, you could order a steak medium rare without worry, and we had a very good meal.
Service was surprisingly slow and unattentive. The pasta was plentiful and tart, but could have used a bit more seasoning. Just an okay experience for a 1st visit.
Longest continually running restaurant in the Twin Cities since 1906.
Manager was awesome, the food was decent. We had the green beans (yum), chicken wings ( yum), calamari was cool. Pleasant peaceful atmosphere, I'm in the crowd it felt private.
We went for my daughter's birthday. The staff was very attentive and the food excellent! Not a drinker but the bar is impressive.
I had the Filet and it was pretty good. Let's do 6 out of 10. Some staff members smells of body order and that killed it for me.
Nostalgic vibes going on at the Monte Carlo. And can we talk martinis for a minute? Because the chocolate martini is a killer! This is a great place to share a special evening or even just pop into the bar for a late night drink. Bonus: they offer valet parking because lord knows finding a spot on the street is a nightmare.
Classic atmosphere. Well-made cocktails. Solid food. Great service. A Minneapolis staple.
Unique atmosphere. Quiet place located downtown. Great wings and good fish and chips. What happened to the creamy Caeser?
They were open on Labor Day. Yay! Very tough to find a place open in Minneapolis on Labor Day. They have a diverse array of craft cocktails.
Old fashioned was made surprisingly well. Sugar/bourbon were both free poured, but the cocktail was spot on!
We loved the wings and calamari. Good cocktails and nice environment. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Food was good. Atmosphere was fun. We made it a point to try some of the original dishes and everything was great. Loved the chili and crab salad on pumpernickel.
The menu is really unusual, it's like a Midwest supper club for your grandparents. The service was slow, but the server communicated that. It was an okay experience.
Small space and so many people. Bar like atmosphere for the whole restaurant. Food was excellent and so was the service.
We shared a basket of wings, challenging the stuffy excessiveness of the atmosphere. The dry rub wings were thick, juicy and well seasoned, the service was prompt and unobtrusive. I personally got a kick out of their prose on cell phone use.
This was my second time visiting. The staff were all very nice and welcoming and we had excellent service. We ordered the wings as an appetizer and I found them to be very bland. Maybe it just the Beijing style, but I thought it needed some heat or more flavor. This was at lunch so I ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. If they had any other style of salad I would have ordered that instead, but caesar was the only option. When my food came there were hard boiled eggs on my salad, which is something I don't like on salads (and which the menu said nothing about). The lone tomato in the salad was mushy and half frozen. The salmon was also overcooked and lacked flavor. Since I was there for a business meeting I didn't want to say anything to the staff, although I'm sure they would have taken it back. So I'd give them 5 stars for service, 1 star for food, overall 3 stars.
Still one of the best places downtown great service even better food let's keep this place going give them the business
Love love love & awesome! If you don't order the wings you are missing out! The shrimp & pesto pizza is awesome as are the green beans. Wings and pizza the best ever!!
Bill is a pro. It’s so refreshing to find a place that values service as much as it does food and drink. This place is top, other joints should take note. Go have fun at Monte Carlo, they’ll take good care of you!!
My old haunt in Minneapolis. Good food and great range of spirits to choose from. The place never lets me down. They offer valet service which used to be free which now costs $3 bucks now.
The service was the best I have seen in years. Very appreciative for Nicoles service, it was beyond refreshing.
Fun, throw back bar and restaurant that really delivers on its premise. Can wait to try again.
Delicious food. Highly recommend the mussels. Martini was delicious as always. And wonderful service.
Cool little restaurant in Minneapolis. Went here for a second drink after dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. The waitress was extremely helpful and kind. We got cake for the occasion and it was delicious! The kitchen was already closed but I hear the chicken wings are particularly good! We'll have to come back to check out the food next.
Cole and Olivia were amazing today! We sat on the patio and it was busy!! Olivia was the only one on out there and she handled the busy like a champ!!! And the after we ate we went inside and Cole served us a drink and was also super busy but kind and whiling to help in any way! We will be back for girls day soon!!! I’m
Great bar for tasty refreshments. Stayed for dinner and the service was delightful. Fish and chips done right and the scallop pasta dish excellent.
Can't wait until we can be out on their patio.
Wonderful date night, excellent drinks, and surprisingly good calamari! Right across the street from the Hewing Hotel.
Awesome chicken wings!! ❤
Crispy and amazing seasoning. My go to every time I visit.
Bartenders are great and they make some really nice drinks. Chicken wings and the seafood salad is a must!
I have been going to the Monte Carlo since it opened and I still love it thank you 😊
So I had a very wierd experience at this restaurant but it wasn't the staff that did me wrong. In fact they did everything they were supposed to do and then went above and beyond. Please read this all the way through to understand what I mean.
My fiance and I were sitting at the bar of this establishment when a guy walked up and sat beside me. He had clearly been drinking before hand and was very intoxicated. Started asking wierd questions like my exact address and phone number. The bartender (an older gentlemen, I believe his name is Bill) quickly took notice that this individual was making us very uncomfortable. The bartender then told this man he was done serving him and if he wanted to get more drinks he would have to go elsewhere to get them. To which this man stated that I was a dead man for alerting the bartender. Which I never did. The bartender acted out of his own accord.
Out of protection for myself and my fiance, I asked for an angel shot. To which the manager of The Monte Carlo escorted me and my fiance to our car which was on the other side of the block. Not to mention the food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Excuding everything I just said.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks. Thank you Monte Carlo for taking g care of us, and I look forward to coming back.
Great wings. And try the Old Fashion, it's a good one!!!
First time dining. experience was so so. Calamari was good but kinda tough. Maybe cause it was ordered extra crispy. Everything else was bland and not to expectations. Walleye had no flavor even after overloading with salt and pepper. Baked potato seemed to be as if it was sitting around for a while. Reviews definitely did not do justice. Say in the bar area, which may have been why. It was busy but the waiter was more on a drop and go basis rather than actually making sure we had everything we needed. Or didn’t need anything else. She sat things down while moving to next tables. Very rushy. More than likely will not return.
This was my first time there and we enjoyed every last minute of it!
Did not have reservations on Valentine's Day but the hostess was accommodating and let us know we had about 45 mins before the next table was coming. We got the wings (they are not lying when they say they are known for them - holy cow!) Oysters were so fresh and tasty. I got the mussels and my date had the filet. All EXCELLENT. Loved the decor and the friendliness of the staff. Will def go back for a hh drink and those wings. :)
Personally this is one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. It's a little pricey, but when they have the full menu, which they do not right now it is definitely worth the money. This is history right in a restaurant! It is sassy but yet definitely classy!!! I was there for dinner and got a burger for 15 bucks and it definitely tasted like it should have been a $50 burger.
Have you heard about brunch at Monte Carlo? I had a wonderful brunch this Saturday morning on the patio. It was only 50 degrees, but the patio is still open! Perfect service and great food make this a neighborhood gem. Enjoy the patio this fall and avoid the indoor crowd for safety this year! We'll hopefully be back to normal soon, but until then, wear your mask indoors and enjoy the patio outdoors without it.
Food and drinks got it to a 4 star, service was lacking. Had to pay 3 bucks to substitute a vegetable for some reason when I got broccoli with the petite filet (good amount of broccoli but why the charge?). Good vibe but longer waits later at night. Probably has to do with a decline in the labor force. Edit: as suspected this joint is understaffed and my server was pulling a triple. Great food and when I got to speak with the wait staff later in the evening great people!
Lovely place to sit outside on a summer day. The walleye is perfection and the staff are personable and prompt.
This has become one of our go to spots. They have one of the nicest patios in the downtown/NL area, martinis are fantastic and come with a back up pour and the sampler appetizer can't be beat if you're in the mood for a little variety. The filet is also always delicious. Reasonable prices and attentive staff bring it all together for an awesome old school supper club experience.
Great steak, great atmosphere. Get the steak sandwich. The wings were amazing too.
The wings are great and the bartenders are always attentive and efficient
I love this restaurant, their patio is everything. Time ordered the steak rare and the look of disgust on the waiters face was off putting, other that this my steak was delicious and my boyfriend rated his meatloaf sandwich a solid four stars. I really don't understand their style of caeser salad because that was more of a standard issue dinner salad. I rate my steak at a solid 5 stars, I actually closed my eyes because it was so awesome.
This place is wonderful for so many reasons...the food, the atmosphere, the drinks, the service, the people. If you haven't been here for dinner or a drink on the patio in the summer, you are missing out!
Very limited menu and overpriced. We used to go here for a nice steak dine but now their menu has changed to a $16 average burger. I hope this is temporary but would love to see their full menu back. We were planning to take some friend for their first time but they had to cancel...probably a good thing. Wings were still good though.
Really good food, great cocktails and perfect service. Thanks for having me
Great atmosphere, good cocktail list, and the Beijing style wings are great. Top notch service. The walleye was disappointing for the price, but everything else was great.
The sampler platter is the best deal in town. It's fantastic. Their is not a bad meal on the menu. The staff is fabulous.
The thing you least expect is the best on the menu, and a real standout in the cities as a whole.
Get the Beijing wings. Such a spectacular flavorset, and fantastic crispy texture.
The rest of the menu is as you would expect from a standby that's been around for over 100 years. The basics, done right.
The other big standout of course is the very very well stocked bar. Even though space is tight the Monte Carlo probably has one of the best bars in the twin cities. The patio seating is ample and available on nice days.
All around a MN classic.
Nice bar and cozy sitting area! I liked the burger and the old fashioned. I recommend it and will try it again for sure.
So hospitable, 1st time coming here with husband and owner was so friendly he gave us a free order of there decadent wings. Delicious.
Classy place with a great outdoor patio, we sat inside and hadn't been here before and they took 15 minutes for someone to come over after we sat down. The food was great and so was out waitress when we finally got one. Prices are average.
The food is just OK; but the atmosphere... wow. Worth the visit for sure.
Classic Midwestern fair at the top of the food chain. Holds its own globally. Try the Salmon Caesar salad for lunch on their deck!
The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful season well the walleye fish and batter was Blane and under cooked the salad and shrimp Cocktail was good the drinks must have been strong because my husband of 280lbs couldn't even finish it and everyone seemed a little lite..
Love the space! Check out the mirrored bar! So cool!
Meh. We came here for an anniversary dinner and was rather underwhelmed by the food. The Charlie’s sandwich is just bread and steak, certainly not worth $25 and then the steak is just served with slices of bread for $29? Seems like the same ingredients with different names. The drinks were good and the service was friendly. I would come back for a happy hour with friends but I wouldn’t recommend for a dinner.
The food was delicious. I just wish their menu was larger.
I love this place. Super old school room with one of the most beautiful bars in the city: bottles to the ceiling and backlighting and mirrors and all kinds of alcohol goodness. The food is reliably good, with a few standouts. I've never gotten a bad steak here. Fish and chips is really good. And the wings, with a hint of cinnamon from Chinese five spice, are rightly famous.
Excellent food and service-I wanted a taste of everything so I got the Sampler Platter appetizer as my dinner! My companions ordered the steak and the walleye. They were both very pleased.
This place is iconic to downtown Minneapolis. The patio is one of the best in town. Great selection at the bar! Also, get the wings.
Food- I got the fried shrimp meal, my husband got the walleye. The shrimp was flavorless and overpowered by breading and could have been made more enjoyable with a sauce that was more flavorful. The pan fried walleye was good, but nothing noteworthy. With both meals we opted for Caesar salads and red potatoes. Not much flavor there either. We must have ordered entirely wrong here, other reviewers seem to have had very different experiences.
Service- Slow. Maybe they were trying to give us time to hang on the patio, but when our waitress would come by she almost seemed annoyed and it wasn't very welcoming.
Patio- This nearly makes up for the rest
Overall, pretty bland and underwhelming. Great patio, maybe come here for drinks instead.
Come just for the patio and you won't regret it. Great burgers!
Wife and i stoped in for a drink and a appetizer. Copper topped bar is pretty neat. Food was a little spendy but service was top notch.
Amazing wings and Szechuan green Beans. Make a reservation if you want to sit on the patio.
Salmon here is fiyyyyaa :) just make sure they add their signature cajun seasoning. I'm so addicted. Drinks good too... veggies good... chicken is good too.
The filet and soba noodles w/scallops were excellent. We will be coming back.
Our server Alex was the best, besides their chicken( lol) anyway I highly recommend The Monte Carlo...
Went on a suggestion from my friend. It was old school kitchy. Which would have been fine if the food lived up to it. The food was good. I easily ate it, however, I will likely not think about it, nor crave it. It will just be somewhere I ate. I don't see going back and well likely suggest a different restaurant if it is presented as an option.
It was not good y’all. Cute atmosphere, but likely still understaffed so I could see they were trying hard to keep up. I feel that. But the food was just not good by any standard. I would caution you and suggest maybe just popping in for a cocktail at the bar.
I had a dinner there with a very special lady. First time there and the experience was amazing. The waitress gave us amazing recommendations from the wings to the green beans. My special lady ordered the fillet mignon and I the New York strip. With a wonderful paired wine as well. The service was fantastic and such compliments to the cheif. Thank you for the great time. It truly gave me a date I'll never forget. I hope to take the Lady out again to the Monte Carlo. She was smiling ear to ear and as was I. Thank you so ever much.
The atmosphere is fantastic, very 1950's. Nate the bartender was very nice even though he was running his butt off busy.
The Monte Carlo has the perfect old - school steakhouse atmosphere. The space is beautiful and the staff, in their traditional uniforms, provide friendly service. It's not stuffy, though. The bar has a fun vibe. The food is classic, but not adventurous. Get the dry rub chicken wings and a steak. They're by far the best things on the menu.
Love the old school charm. Their wings are intensely good and wash down well with a perfectly crafted martini.
Ambience and service was spectacular. Bar is sensational. Their wings are the best.
If I could give three sad faces, I would. I LOVE the Monte Carlo and have been coming there for over 30 years. And my favorite thing on the menu is the appetizer sampler WITH THE LIVER PATE. Oh my god, how could you possible replace it with Potato Salad? I know I am not alone in my abject misery. BRING IT BACK! PLEASE!
Slow food service, but it is well worth the wait! Delightful atmosphere and an adventurous menu.
At first we were concerned the drinks were a bit pricey, but when they were brought out to us they were HUGE it was like 2 to 3 drinks at another restaurant. They weren't watered down to counter their size either. Great outdoor seating as well. Was not there during peak hours so our service was quick and we had the patio to ourselves.
Great vibe at this downtown Minneapolis bar. Simple menu with good food. Staff is well dressed in a classy environment.
Interesting how so many reviews are either 5 or 1 star. This is my first visit and I found no reason not to be impressed. Service was good other than being scolded by the bartender for having my hat on when I sat down. It was a wet and windy late fall day. Anyway, it's a cool space for the adult crowd. Sophisticated classic drinks the tenders clearly enjoy making. I kinda expected Billy Joel to appear in the corner as the piano man. Food was fine. Probably need to give it a few more goes before I can provide a solid food review. Parking is available using the valet. $2.00 will be added to the tab....somehow.
One of my 5 favorite go to restaurants in the Twin Cities. I hope as business gets back to normal, that the old menu can be brought back. Our waiter was exceptional.
Visited this place today! Great service, perfect size plates, and delicious food. Highly recommend. LOVED the outdoor patio!
Wonderful service. Warm friendly and entertaining. Great portions on chocolate martinis..extra glas of mixer.
What a great restaurant and bar! This place has been around for years. When you walk in you immediately notice the bar was taken out of the original Charlie’s Café exceptional that closed many years ago. The food is delicious with a few favorites left over from The Charlies lunch menu like the “kitchen sandwich”. Try the chopped liver with eggs and onions for an appetizer, be adventurous, everything on the menu was great. There is plenty of convenient parking right next door. This place gets my highest recommendation!
My favorite is the appetizer samplers. There traditional dry Chicken wings is delicious
Drinks on the patio is a great way to soak up the spring weather! Service was great, the $13 old fashioned was not particularly note worthy. They could at least opt to get luxardo cherries and not the cheapy marachino. The wings more than make up for it though! They are fantastic.
Love Love Love The Monte Carlo, the Best Chicken Wings in Town Period!!!!
Bonus all menu items are Truly Amazing.
Thanks Monte Carlo
Best drinks, best liver. Nice place.
Classic American Fare. Generational Family Favorite. Top Shelf Margarita.
Charlie's Kitchen Steak Sandwich best steak sandwich in town. Big Leather Seat Booths. Outside dining available. Valet Parking. Plan to spend some $
I only gave a 3 star rating, because our reservation was ready and they were able to accommodate a change. The food choices were good, but the food wasn't that great for the price that we paid. We had a group of 11 and out of that 11 10 were black people and because of that we received lots of stares, but I don't blame the restaraunt for that. When I first arrived I ordered a drink and their was something on my cup. I gave it back to the waiter and was told that I would not have to pay, but they charged me anyway. The waiter also kept looking right at my white friend when he came to wait on us, he never even acknowledged me after I received my drink. If you can't handle passive racism, I suggest you not go here.
Chicken wings were unique and delicious... dry rub, a little spicy, hint of 5Spice. Meatloaf sandwich was meh... tasted more like a bland patty melt... more burger than meatloaf. Prices were high for bar food.
We had a brief meal during COVID and the staff at the Monte Carlo was phenomenal. I used to go here years ago and the quality has not diminished, unlike most things in the warehouse district. A solid downtown institution for years.
My boyfriend and I ducked in here for late night wings and cocktails. The bartender was very friendly and kind.
Well I can’t write a new review bc google says I reviewed this place already but, last night (5 Jan 2019) we stopped in for the wings again while in between some shows we took in, as usual the wings were incredible and a martini made to perfection!!!!! Thank you Monte Carlo!!!
First, a lot of people talk about their wings, however you should be warned they are dry rub with cinnamon and sugar. They are good but not really my thing. Other than that the menu is a little pricey and they measure the shots when making drinks.
One of my top five favorite places in Minneapolis! You can get a proper classic cocktail here. When I say classic, I don't mean the weird pretentious crap with 50 ingredients or special steps. A really great martini, manhattan, old fashioned, etc. Get the wings!! You don't need sauce and they are life changing. Sit at the bar if you can. They're a friendly group and quite social (if you like that) when they have some down time.
It's a classier spot. Not the place for you to go and act a fool with friends and overdo it. They will cut you off or ask you to leave if you're out of hand, which I appreciate.
Fun place to sit outside and people watch! Food was great, salmon and steak done perfectly! Martinis are excellent and besides the drink you get the whole martini pour! Old favorite never disappoints!
Probably one of the best spots in the Twin Cities for food and drinks. The bartenders are true masters of their trade for cocktails and they have a well curated wine list. The menu is full of really tasty options the can fit any person's taste. The ambiance may not be everyone's cup of tea but if you are looking for great food and drink in a laid back atmosphere look no further. In the summer they open up the outdoor patio which is a great seasonal change of pace. If you are an out of towner look no further for dinner tonight.
I've eaten at the Monte Carlo many times over the years. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is vibrant. It's a good place to go if you want to hear your dinner conversation. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Last time I was there I had the chicken soup, which had huge pieces of meat in it. There is valet parking adjacent to the restaurant plus street parking available.
This is one of my favorite spots for drinks and apps. Their sidecars are amazing, make sure and order with the sugared rim. Their dry rub wings are amazing too if you want a bite to eat.
Very nice unique hotel. Staff were excellent and very helpful.
Someone told me this place had the best wings in the Twin Cities, and I had to see for myself.
I was a little disappointed at first, as their wings are served dry. I love a good buffalo, BBQ, or similar wing, dripping with sauce. Apparently their sister restaurant does wet wings and I need to try them. But my disappointment didnt last long. The dry rub wings are flavorful, crispy, moist on the inside, just overall amazing. I dipped them in ranch and also in the sauce that came with the green beans just to try.
Speaking of which-- the green beans. OMG. They are quite spicy, and who thought vegetables could have this much flavor. I've been thinking about the wings AND the green beans since the last time I was in the Twin Cities. I'm almost ready to drive back just to get some.
I'm sure they have other menu items but I wont be trying them any time soon.
If you want a true classic dinning experience,by all means go to the Monte Carlo! The staff was so attentive that our party of fifteen were treated as if we were the only guests they served all day. The food is spectacular and the little extra attention to details made this one of the best dinning experiences I have had in a long time.
Cole was wonderful! Perfect balance between professional and witty! Great service, wonderful food, the most amazing patio atmosphere!! Beautifully done. *applauds*
Always good food, good servuce. Bartender is superb. Chili and green bean appetizer are favorites. Valet parking is stamped. Outside patio is wonderful when temps permit. Two thumbs up!
Get the chicken wings!! Mild sweet flavor that goes well with the spices. I also appreciated the note that reminded guests to silence their phones.
Hubby and I are going to check The Monte Carlo out for brunch in the near future.
Great atmosphere! We had the Monte Carlo appetizer sampler with the great chicken wings. We had the filet mignon steak sandwich with pumpernickel bread. The meat was very tender and delicious. Great service too!
Came here a few years ago and remembered having a nice lunch. Will stop in again soon and leave a better review. I remember them having a Plaza Burger (Made famous in Madison WI) and I think it was better than the original.
We love it here- great wings, steaks, and drinks! Specifically want to shout out our most recent server Imran- he was such a professional with a great sense of humor too! Hopefully this review reaches him, and thanks to Monte Carlo for employing such top-notch staff!!
Service was 5 stars. My date & I finished our drinks & counted down from 10. At 5 our server had already filled up our water! Very impressive. Food was 4 stars, atmosphere 4 stars, service 5 stars.
This place was awesome!! I had forgotten what good service was like until I went with my wife. White table clothes, servers where white button down shirts, and were very courteous and professional. Food was a little pricey but delicious. Drinks we're average.
Lovely place fantastic cocktail selection. Gotta try their ice cream cocktails too.
This is by far the easiest place to park and eat in downtown Minneapolis. I think this is why you will find many having a power lunch here. The food is always good and never great. Salads and burgers are an easy solution for diners. The staff is great and very little turnover. In our Short Minnesota summer eating on the patio is often a good choice.
Wonderful cocktails and appetizers at the bar! Also, I accidentally left some expensive sunglasses there and not only were they kept safe but the friendly team went above and beyond to get them back to my in NYC. Please patronize this great restaurant, they’re the real deal.
One of the last classic Minneapolis bars still around and still true to itself. You can imagine union bosses sitting in the booths making under the table deals over meatloaf sandwiches. The bartenders are awesome, the chicken wings are the best in town and the drinks are iconic. Quiet music and not many TVs make it a great place to catch up with an old friend or stop off for a nightcap (or late night chicken wings)
Just go with it! As Minneapolis' oldest restaurant, they aim to please with many tasty standards and excellent, welcoming service. Mom and her college pal still love Monte's-after ordering their faves in the front room, they tried identifying their sorority sisters.
I have hung out in the North Loop for years and finally went here for the first time. I have always have heard great things about it but as a "millennial" and sports fan i always go to the shinny new thing or a place with a lot of tvs.
This place blew my expectations, the food, service, and drinks were top notch. I like they do the old school martini pours, leaving the glass with the extra in front to refill.
This will be moved up to the top of places in Nolo where I go to
I have to give Monte Carlo 4 stars because of the outside patio. It is probably one of the biggest hidden gems in the North Loop. I can't believe I stayed at the Hewing Hotel last summer and never made it around the block to this spot. Sipping one of their classic cocktails is my idea of summer. In fact give me another French 75! A perfect combo of sparkling wine, gin and fresh lemon juice.
My family has been coming here for decades. This is arguably the best restuarant in Minneapolis. By far the best chicken wings, hamburgers are fantastic, great salads, steaks and chops. The lavash pizza is amazing. Consistent, wonderful food.
Nice spot for a Filet.
Well, here is a new Covid review. They do not have the Filets on the menu, no bread, different menu. I had the Fried Chicken and it was no good.
The service was pretty relaxed.
3 male patrons wore baseball caps throughout their meal.
Monte Carlo used to be a CLASSY SUPPER CLUB ... PLEASE COME BACK TO US!!
Lovely, old world Douglas! Original decor from decades gone by! As far back as maybe the 20s? Charming! White table cloths. U could almost see the people of that era coming and going! Nostalgia!💜 The food was awesome! I had a Ceasar's salad! Our friends had food! …
Always perfectly balanced service...attentive but not over bearing. A class act that never disappoints! We loved the generous sampler plate, and the well made martinis which supported our friends night out.
Everything we had was good including the server! Wings are one of a kind, the seafood fettuccine was fresh, my guy loved the real turkey in his sandwich and the monte margarita had just the right kick.
Always classy. Excellent food, excellent service. Best bar selection in town. Best bet: steak sandwich, or the fillet. Excellent salads and arguably the best dry rub wings in town.
I love the Monte Carlo! It is an eclectic design with a ton of character. In a fantastic location with a ton of places within short walking distance. The menu consists of tons of comfy classics which I love. One of my favorite places to eat before walking to target center for a timberwolves or lynx games.
The adult milkshakes and the chicken wings are so delicious that those things alone require a 5 star review. Old timey vibes and friendly staff make this place memorable as well
The seafood pasta was to die for! The wings left me begging for the secret dry-rub recipe. And they are one of the very few bars I trust to make a proper Last Word cocktail. I will definitely be back!
Monte Carlo is always great, day or night. Good strong drinks, the waitstaff is amazing and the food is always perfect. Pro tip: Have the chicken wing appetizer. You won't regret it. The rub that they use is sooooo good.
Great food, nice people, and great ambience. It gets busy during noon time on weekdays, so prepare to be patient. But the food is good and definitely worth the wait.
I've had filet mignon several times, and have never been disappointed! The oysters are fantastic as well, and are the largest I've ever had! The atmosphere is classy, and is honestly my favorite part of the experience. I'd recommend The Monte Carlo to anyone.
Best steak I've had in a long time and the best sweet potato fries ever! Cozy and comfortable atmosphere and great service, too! So glad we made it back.
A classic and historic Minnesota supper club with a nice menu and an impressive bar.
The best patio in town. Grab a seat, a glass of prosecco, and their fried chicken and you will never leave. Their martinis are served with a full shaker on the side. The best.
Old school classic menu...delicious! Staff superb and a warm environment...still at it after opening in 1906!
They may have been having a rough night but our food came almost an hour after we ordered and it was not spectacular for the price. We also had to corner one of the bus boys to get bread because our server was not very attentive.
Always a walk back to a classier, quieter time. Drinks that always meet the discriminating taste of each patrons. Servers styled as it once was, but always impeccable service. And best wings in town.
Great atmosphere, had oysters for an appetizer which were fantastic. Cajun chicken sandwich was spot on. Decent selection of beer. Service was outstanding.
All new booths, sparkling mirrors and polished wood! Monte Carlo took Covid time to upgrade and preserve its retro feel. From cocktails to 🍨, a delightful experience! …
Best filet ever. Great service. Fantastic ice cream drinks for dessert.
I wanted it to wow me, but I feel like it was way overpriced for what you got. They have a limited menu for now and I can’t blame them for that, but they replaced the fillet minion with a New York strip that was pretty fatty and didn’t drop the price. The old fashioned was pretty watered down-I’ve had much better. Service was kind enough.
Went twice on a visit to Minneapolis and sat at the bar and drinks and appetizers. I liked the interaction between the bartenders, the waitresses, and the patrons. Fun time. Good food and drinks.
Been going to the Monte Carlo for a long time, but hadn't been back for several years. Food was great, drinks impress but we're really set it apart was the service. Attentive yet not hovering, super knowledgeable and very friendly. I highly recommend a visit or the head back if you haven't been there for a while.
Monte Carlo is my Ultimate Happy Place!
Great wings and Amazing Martinis!
The staff..Ian, Olivia, Landra and Flannigan are Fantastic!
A time capsule, it is an honest presentation of the super clubs of old. Atmosphere is genuine, service is exceptional, and they take pride in their menu. There are nods to trends but overall you can insert yourself in 1962 just by taking a seat.
Everything was delicious! The wings and green beans are a great appetizer and the cajun chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries are to die for! Service is always amazing too.
Normally I love this place but recently went with some friends and got terrible service from "Richard". He clearly forgot about us from the start, and then instead of owning it and giving us good service he just doubled down and made us feel unwelcome. If I'm seated in his section again I'll probably just leave.

Great wings, great filet, great fish. The service was above and beyond. I felt like we went back in time to when things made sense. Beautiful decor and kind, kind staff.
The Monte Carlo is a classic. Don't look for Happy Hour here, you won't find it. One of the best patios in the city. Good, strong drinks. The chicken wings and green beans are favorites.
Great wings - gentleman that worked with us was present and solid - funny, actually. Love places you go where you not only eat the great food, you drink those drinks and the jive is palpable...
Excellent food, excellent drinks, and even better service. Nothing beats their patio on a nice night. Great spot for date night or happy hour before a twins game.
Dope patio and had a great Caesar salad and orange dreamsicle cocktail, definitely will be back for a full dinner at some point.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food!!
I was there on the evening of July 4th. The patio as usual was incredible! The restaurant was so packed it took a bit longer for service but we understood. Food was delicious and I highly recommend them.
One of the last world war 2 5 star menu's in town left. Unforgettable experience from the valet parking, service, and of course the menu! Fine dinning and a unforgettable experience. Thank You Monte Carlo.
This place always delivers the goods and has the best servers in the area. Their fish and chips rival anything across the pond. You can be dressed up or wear your pajamas for a late nignt meal. Nothing snobby or douche bag hipster about this place. You can't count on much in life but you can always count on the MC to take care of you!
Absolutely Superb. The Buffalo wings were excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. The patio atmosphere was refreshing and quaint. I'll definitely go back.
Simple food but tasty. Manager wasn't accommodating. Regular in my opinion.
Great patio, the atmosphere is lovely and calming. Drinks are delicious, recommend the martinis or a bottle of wine. Service was great.
Reliable lunch venue in Minneapolis North Loop. Many bar and restaurant servers have been at MC for years. Visit for Sunday brunch as well. Hot, delicious, and substantial!!
Fun place. If you get past their awesome chicken wings, they have lots and lots of great food.
Bartenders were fun, wait staff were ok, food...meh. I ordered the pork chops as they were recccommended by our waitress. The atmosphere was energetic and had an old school vibe.
The Monte Carlo is just the way it has been for years, and that is a good thing. Good food and drink, good bartenders and wait staff.
They have a private room that is great for 12-20, if that is what you need.
Visiting from New Hampshire. Excellent service! Pizza app was delish. Pork chops and seafood fettuccine were wonderful. Bartender, and valet were super friendly.
Nice place, I love the history but the steak sandwich was not impressive. It was 2 pieces of basic wheat bread and some pieces of steak. The whole thing was very bland to be honest.
Have been stopping in for years. Food and service are both excellent. Want to step out of the comfort zone of a mixed drink this place will have something for you.
Great food and friendly staff! Food was quick and tasted great.
Great place to eat at any time! Great food selection and very comfortably priced for what you get. Good wine selection and very friendly staff.
Never have any complaints.
☺Good chicken wings (dry rub/breaded). 😊Very good service.
👅👎Really bad Club Sandwiches: lots of dry bread with only a modest amount of stuffing.
☺Fries were good. …
Beautiful bar area and great cocktails and drink selections. Always nice bartenders. And the BEST chicken wings in the city!
Love this Minneapolis landmark. Since 1909! I get the deep fried calamari almost every time. Love it.
The best old school bar, drinks and amazing dining room with fabulous tableside Caesar salad.... And liver and onions if you choose. Easy Parking in a fun part of the north loop.
Everything here is kind of old school dining. The food was ok, but the $13 old fashion was way over priced and not very good. Had a much better one for the same price a block away.
Great bar, excellent for date night. Food is very good, try the sampler platter if you are not having dinner.
The Monte Carlo was great as usual, our server Greta made it that much more enjoyable, a very personable young lady, great service, great food, never a disappointment, tell her Glenn and Mike from Phoenix said hello and thank you!
Great bar with awesome cocktails. Love grabbing a drink at the bar. Food is decidedly average. They do have a fun patio
The patio is very nice and the staff are very nice. The prices are way too high however, for what you get, the Aviance isn't that great. And the chicken wings are way over-rated.
Great lunch, burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were nice and hot. Lovely day for a lunch on the patio with a good friend.
This is my favorite place in Minneapolis. Feels like a supper club. Great bar. Great drinks. Great food.
This is a longtime fixture of DT Mpls. Great cocktails and the best dry-rub wings I've ever had. I dream about these wings. And the patio in summer.
Love the bar here. Classic old fashioned bar, highly skilled bartenders, massive spirits selection and good service. One of my favorites and a go to when I entertain visitors.
The place was very quaint. I loved the decor it was back in the old days. The food was excellent. You get a lot for your money. I would definitely visit again.
Wonderful food!!! Great staff!! It was a perfect place to celebrate a special Glas birthday!!
Wonderful atmosphere. Cheerful waitstaff. Delicious entres... eating outside, a real treat! Next time? Wings!
The only place that hasn’t disappointed me since COVID! Immaculate service, food is great and their drinks set the bar
Relaxing lunch. Killer wings hard to compare. Unlike others.
Burgers, Coleslaw, potato salad, Tenderloin sandwich, and monster Cheesecake drizeled with Strawberries.
How was your day?
Excellent classic cocktails, service, wings that are to die for and a dog friendly patio. You can't beat it for a summer happy hour!
Always a great choice ..for food atmosphere..and service...I do miss the fried chicken and the pork chop. (Obviously, been going there since early 80's.
We didn't eat there because we just left Mers Park. A nice walk to get there. Big, big selection of whatever you desire. Good service. Heading back.
This is a great place. 50's feel, and the wings are TO DIE FOR! One of my favorite wings in Minnesota. No sauce needed!
Best bar in Minneapolis if you are looking for that old world classic bar experience. The bartenders are knowledgeable, the staff is friendly and they have valet parking right next door.
Great old school cocktail place. Great patio
Best food and staff in the loop.
Four of us had dinner on the Monte Carlo patio after seeing Guys and Dolls at the Guthrie. Flanagan was our server and was the absolute best.
It has nice ambiance, I only had a few drinks there but I will return to try the food one day. 🤷🏾♂️ …
The quality may a little inconsistent, but it provided one of the few times where I've eaten an entire cheeseburger without setting it down or speaking. Attentive waitstaff. Incredibly professional.
NICOLE OUR WAITRESS MADE THE WHOLE DIN NER VERY CHEERFUL AND PLEASAnt. As someone from out of town we really enjoyed their hospitality. The scallops are nicely prepared with the cream saiuce.
Amazing cheese burger (Munster & American combo is best) and chicken wings! Ask for a side of spicy mayo to dip your fries in.
Food awesome. Wines were not what we ordered. All good. We would return!
Absolutely lovely server. Good burger and decent drinks!
Some of the best food I've ever had. They have an amazing brunch, honestly I don't go anywhere else for brunch.
Exceptional food, beverage and service.
Great wings! Great burgers!
Great food & prices. Staff very pleasant & attentive. Excellent chicken wings. Highly recommend The Monte Carlo.
Dry rub Chicken wings are the best ever!! Super Set vice also.
I've been going there for 30 years and the food is always fantastic plus the staff is great!! I brought a party of 32 people there and the event could not have gone better.
Delicious dinner for the four of us this evening, coupled with great service and attentive management. Strongly recommend!
The service was very good and I enjoyed the vibe, I do think the food was very standard, I think it was a bit over prized
Great brunch lots to choose from, great service, very accommodating though we were late they kept our reservation and served us brunch. Wide selection of drinks in the bar.
It's the Monte Carlo. Great wings, great beans, and they have Pilsner Urquell in bottles. Always perfect.
I guess the rule of thumb for this place is presentation over value. This is not a discount dinner place. I think it's more so you can tell your friends that you went to the Monte Carlo....and when they ask you, "Monaco?"...you can say, "No, Minneapolis." And your friends can go, "Oh...".
End of story.
Everything we ate was delicious, the staff was excellent, would be my go to restaurant if I lived here!! Nice work folks..
We are in the industry, amazing wings! A must! Steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious! Finished it off with a grasshopper, perfect!
Fabulous patio and Liz the server was enjoyable
Best chicken wings in Minnesota! Love the New York strip. Classic old school supper club feeling.
The food and service were equally awesome. What a quaint little gem hidden in the city!
Top notch. Food is always consistent as is the service. Valet parking is a huge plus. Can't go wrong here.
Great outdoor patio area, delicious food, wonderful array of cocktails and other beverages, outstanding valet service! Fabulous place for a birthday bash!
If you like high prices and hanging out with old people this is your place. The food is ok, the drinks are a bit expensive. The decor is pretty cool
Lovely patio with umbrellas right across from the hewing hotel. Friendly service and decent food. Chicken soup highly recommended.
Love the old school charm at this restaurant. Great food and service. Burger was perfectly cooked and very tasty.
Very cool vibe. You expect Sinatra or one of the Rat pack to start crooning at any moment. The food is also very good.
Classic and cocktails are always well made. But when I think of the wings and green beans... it's over
My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and seasoned. You could literally cut it with a fork!!!
Service was excellent.
This place has a unique combination of class without too much stuffy formality. The bar offers a great "wow" factor for impressing out of town guests.
Best wings anywhere. Phenomenal service. Outstanding drink selection. This is my favorite place.
I only ever order the wings. They have a great dry rub, can't say a lot about the rest of the food.
The Best Beef Liver in Town!!
The quality, flavor, and size of the meal is just perfect. Classy, classy, classy place. Large selection of alcohol, and great dinner menu.
I love this place. Been here several times this fall. Great food, great service, reasonable. The Mpls version of Mancini's, just smaller!
Fun restaurant. Especially loved the chicken wing appetizer. Also great Caesar's salad. Fun bar too.
A beautifully restored restaurant with great food and an attractive copper bar.
First time here recommended from someone to eat here was very good service and great food would recommend to eat here will be back again soon
Wonderful old world atmosphere. I attended a business lunch here and was delighted enough that I will definitely brave the down town traffic to go back sometime.
I love this place. Wings are the "not to miss item". Patio is beautiful sanctuary in the middle the city.
Order a martini, or two! Cucumber martini was delicious, even for a beginner.
Classy place with a great atmosphere. The sampler platter is awesome and the chicken wings are top notch.
Top 1% service, classic menu and decor. Nothing fails to be perfect every time.
One of the best kept secrets in the Twin Cities if you want excellent wings go there
Excellent. Wonderful food, super serves best chicken wings
Amazing as always! In my opinion best dry rub chicken wings around!
Favorites local place, very old school. If your looking for the latest downtown trendy place steer clear of this. If you want classic simple quiet and amazing this is the spot.
Very cool place, exceptional selection of top shelf Liquors, food was prepared to perfection. Service was very good.
Cool atmosphere. Wings are a must eat. And the walleye filet can fees three. Check this gem out.
Get the chicken wings, they are great, they have a really nice rub rather than a sauce. This is a more upscale, yet still casual setting.
A Minneapolis classic. Great patio, nice menu and cocktails, good service. Definitely recommend.
A Minneapolis classic. Free parking in lot and beautiful outdoor seating in the summer.
Great Gem of the Midwest. Bartending staff is knowledgeable and delightful conversationist. Best wings in MN.
Love this place! Great neighborhood restaurant and can eat at the bar.
Top 5 best wings in the Twin Cities. Hands down the best Martini I have had in ages.
The world's best wings and martinis. What else do I really need to type?
Classic great restaurant..lovely bar..always a place that you know you will get good food and drink!
Drinks were very expensive, However the wings were amazing. Had a great time here even with all the people on a Saturday night!
I love this place been coming for over 20 years and they have always had great service and food.
Classy, great food. Salmon and the cinnamon chicken wings were wonderful.
Fantastic! Great service. Delicious food. This is what we go out for!
We had the steak. It was amazing. The wings are also a must have! Delicious.
Old school restaurant. Interesting mix of clientele (that's a good thing) Great service, excellent food & cocktails. ORDER THE WINGS!!!!!
Great place for a cocktail
Rating is just on chicken wings. Definitely worth ordering if you are there already, but if you are looking for Wings in area cross the street to Runyons.
They got mannys faded
Best chicken wings, period.
Food is good, and a great atmosphere. Definitely worth checking on on a nice summer evening.
Get at me with those dry rub wings!! Like Drake said, Best I ever had. Best I ever had. Fun old school cool bar
Great food, staff is attentive. Very classy environment, love the old school vibe
Wonderful as always. The "off the menu" steak sandwich is exceptional, as are the oysters.
Such old world charm. Good service and great food. Parking is now $3 instead of free.
Amazing food. Company not so much. But that's my own fault lol...
My favorite bar in town. A Monty Manhattan and a basket of wings to share is the start of a great night.
Great place for late night drinks and snacks. Flanagan (Liz) is fantastic for drink advice and witty conversation.
I have nothing bad to say about this place. The food was great. The service was good and the atmosphere was perfect
Overall get experience and atmosphere. I highly recommend paying this place a visit.
