Reviews of The Melting Pot

My husband and I came here today for Valentine’s Day! We had to make a reservation and I’m not sure if they take walk ins. Everything was so delicious! I loved how our host and server were friendly and showed us the best items on the menu. For appetizer, they brought out a cheese fondue, then salad, then our main course, then a chocolate fondue dessert. The sauces were also very good and may have been made at the restaurant! Of note, I think this is the only place in Minneapolis that didn’t check for vaccination cards so eat at your own risk. It was pretty packed too.

This was the first time we visited with the kids. The wife and I have been here once before like 10 or so years ago and did not remember much about our experience, but once we sat down the memories started to come back.
Overall, it's a cool concept and the kids enjoyed the experience. However, the food is way below average, especially for the price. It's definitely one of those places that you go for the experiences and not for the food. It might actually be a great place for dessert if you have dinner elsewhere in the area, the dessert was pretty good.
If anything, we might go back for dissert down the road, but other than that, I don't think we will be visiting here for another 10+ years.

One of the best expierences I've ever had! So worth the adventure!! Great food with a variety of options. We chose to do the Complete Expierence for 2. I got the classic signature and husband Pacific Rim with the oil and Alpine cheese fondue, for our starter. We totally enjoyed the Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue for dessert! Our server was so amazing. He walked us through every course. Id definitely go back!

My husband and I stopped in for Lunch. It was Amazing! Yum! We had Ian as our waiter and he was the Best! Very funny, kind, explained everything and was most helpful in our food choices. We will definitely be back!! Thanks Ian! 😊

I always love coming to the melting pot! The food and drinks are delicious. Its also a great place to spend some time with whomever you go with. The meal takes a while. Great place to go! Only problem is its SUPER pricy, so only go on special occasions.

My favorite place to go! My husband and I go every year on our anniversary. We make reservations ahead of time and the staff is always friendly. Last time we went, our waiter was phenomenal. The best part? The food! We’ve ordered different things but each time we are never disappointed. We do the three course meal and from the fondue to the chocolate… it is all amazing. Prices are high but keep in mind it is a fancier restaurant but you get a lot of food and it’s delicious. Also, if you’re celebrating, let them know. They have packages you can purchase. My husband purchased a candle and rose petal extra for our anniversary last year.

So good! Our server, Tyler, was very helpful and made some wonderful suggestions for our first time visiting here. We loved every bite! Can't wait to come again

First things first: early reservations!! We had ours at 4:30 on a Saturday and it was perfect. We were able to take our time with all the courses and had an attentive server because it wasn't busy. Once things started to pick up more, our server was more busy, but it wasn't a problem at all.
Pricey, but definitely worth it, imo. It's more of an interactive experience (think hot pot but European) and the atmosphere is very cozy, especially if you're in one of the private booths! The portions look very small, but you'll get full very quick. It's around $130 for two people w/ tip.
It's a four course meal (you can just choose individual courses, but if you're going for fondue, why not have all four??) with cheese fondue starters (lots of cheese selections with vegetables, fruits, and bread), one salad per person, main entree (various meats, vegetables, ravioli) in a broth fondue with a lot of sauces for your dippers, and dessert (chocolate fondue selection with cheesecake, angel food cake, brownies, fruits, rice krispies, and marshmallows).
The overall experience was super fun and cozy, very nice atmosphere, and super friendly staff. It's a really good place if you want to have a fancy dinner while being able to talk and have fun. It's definitely a good place if you want to set out a whole day for a date and then do something afterwards (we went to a comedy club). You'll definitely impress your date. :))

We had 4 course meal and went on Thursday (Thursdate). That was lot of food for 2. Every meal was delicious. We ordered the yin-yang chocolate sauce and that was delicious as well. Attached is the picture of all the meals.

First time here and we read some honest reviews before coming and I would agree with the others here that posted before me. Very expensive for what you get. Interesting and different experience from other restaurants which is fun and something different. Location was pretty easy to find as well. The food is prepared infront of you as well and you get to cook your own food. Lots of option to choose from on the menu. Some cons is that the menu is somewhat hard to read right off bat. We had a party of 5 and had many choices and found that the meat was alright. I found that nothing was really seasoned meat wise and there was no salt and pepper for seasoning but many choices of sauces. The meat you cook in a boiling mixture and it's alright but then you loose all those seasonings that they put on the meats when you boil it. Since the meat isn't marinated before hand you don't get a deep flavor in these cuts of meats and loose all the seasoning. I feel as if the restaurant tried to create somewhat of a Sous vide method but i found it doesnt work at all because its a quick boil when your cooking these meats. So they tend to be tough and under seasoned. The fruit, veggies, and bread were very good with the cheese options. But the veggies seemed like they were processed and a bit dry.Honestly I would just come for the cheese and skip the main course. The drinks were well made but I found them pricy for what they were. The night seemed steady and the waiter only saw us maybe 3 times through the night when he was dropping food off for us and forgot a few items we ordered along with drinks. Was offered for a take out of the items he forgot but whats the point of brining home the items when you're there for the experience and you dont want to reheat this type of cheese sauces at home otherwise it will split and become inedible. Not the best service but he was very nice. I personally would choose the other two steak houses in Minneapolis over this if your looking to spend over $240 for 3 people. Other locations I found had better service, well seasoned meats, and found that a valets are very handy in Minneapolis. Maybe we will visit again but if your looking for a quiet and relaxing evening, I'd look elsewhere for dinner. Good experience but I wouldn't seek this of dinning anytime soon or on a regular basis.

This place has been on our list for awhile. We stopped in and enjoyed a great date night. However I wish the seating wasn’t so crowded. Our server was pretty great & I feel like everyone should come here at least once
Mama Corgs
Phenomenal experience. Fantastically fresh ingredients. Amazing service. This place charges a pretty penny but trust me it's absolutely worth it.
wendy weickert
A unique and AMAZING dining experience that your taste buds will thank you for!! The love martini is my favorite drink there!!
Nikki Cebula
So fun! It was too much food tho... I wish you could split a meal. After a 3 course and cocktails, our bill was over 300 and we left a full serving on the table.
Best part tho.. the minneapolis drink. See pic. Delicious and the chocolate spoon!
meliastokes
We had the best time here. Came in for four birthday including myself. The staff was so accommodating to our party of 12. It was truly a great experience. Can't wait to return and try all new stuff.
Ashley Cunningham
We love The Melting Pot! We've come here once a year for our anniversary for the past 8 or so years. We find that it's definitely worth it to splurge on the full 4-course meal. We usually get a 4-course meal and a couple drinks which usually brings the bill to around $150ish. It's always delicious, you get plenty of food, and the service is always good. The server will offer to let you cook what you cannot finish and take it home for leftovers. They'll also send you a coupon for free chocolate covered strawberries for your special occasion each year, so sign up for their emails!
Molly Hansen
Fabulous experience, definitely expensive but worth it for a special occasion. The teriyaki steak and the chicken were the BEST
Jen Stawarski
Food is incredible, service is impeccable, and the ambience is fantastic. Our server was top-notch and handled our large group like a pro! The Love Martini is apparently delicious as many in our group had it and gave it race reviews!
Brady Burton
Went out with my Partner's Brother and his Girlfriend. We have two lovely 3 course meals. The staff was outstanding and went above and beyond to make our experience one of a kind. We went for a birthday so they brought extra desserts and cheesecake. I will come back again as soon as able. If you are in the area please stop in as this restaurant is fantastic.
Ian McKilligan
The execution of this meal was well planned and implemented. It was wonderful; nothing was left to chance. The kids really had a fun time throughout.
Beth Berzelius
Did all 4 courses and loved it. Vegetarian pot included some faux meat. Server was also incredible and made it a fun experience.
Scot Mahan-Miller
Went here for wedding anniversary, went here when it first opened MANY years ago. We went for the all you can eat protein in the 3 course meal, we added the special for another $5 person, not sure it was worth it in the end. The food is phenomenal, the style of eating is a slower pace because you are waiting for the one or two pieces to cook at a time. Where as at any other restaurant you place your order, relax for a few minutes while it is made, then feel like you need to rush through it.
LeaAnne Meyers
We had a 6:30p reservation for 4. The experience lasted until after 8p.
Restaurant was busy and very dusty. Had to ask for beverage refills as noone offered. Veggies that come with meal were mushrooms potatoes and zucchini. Not close to enough for 4 people. The waiter seemed annoyed from the go. Our meat was chicken and steak that was delicious. Chocolate fondue can't go wrong. We will not be returning as our the experience wasn't worth the money paid!
Terry Qualy (Martini Fiend)
We enjoyed our Melting Pot experience immensely. The place is quiet and our seating arrangement intimate with hardly any indication of the other diners' conversations. We were ably assisted by our lovely waitperson. Our selections were presented nicely and expertly. Dining was unrushed but service never lagged. We plan to return.
Beau Geer
We went there for my daughter’s birthday and everything was so fun and exciting. We usually go 3x a year to this restaurant and always a solid go to. No such thing as a bad option and all I can say “save room for dessert !!!” Yum !!! Food was fantastic, service was great and I can’t wait for the next time we stop in !
Josh Dierich
Just had the 4 course for dinner and it was absolutely phenomenal, everything was delicious, there's so many option but m9st of us got the steak lovers and wow, every cut was sensational. The experience is so effing fun too, Clay was our server and explained everything so simply. He was consistent, fast and super nice we were happy to have him. Definitely coming back soon.
Jacob Snow (RelanMcStone)
First time at the Melting Pot, as my significant other wanted to treat me for a date night long overdue from COVID.
The hostesses, wait staff, and porters were all very pleasant and friendly. The actual service, however, was poor overall. As stated, my S.O. wanted to treat me, and ordered a few extras (Charcuterie board, extra desserts, and some chocolate-covered strawberries to-go). Each of the extras was forgotten and had to be asked about, and the Charcuterie board was never brought (though our server did remove it from the bill without any issues, apologizing and admitting fault for forgetting it til after the cheese course). Additionally, drinks took a bit longer than expected to arrive, though the delay wasn't too terrible.
Again, I wish to stress that, despite the disappointing service, ALL staff encountered were incredibly friendly and pleasant.
The overall quality of the food was very good. Some of the veggies (notably the carrots and tomatoes) were a bit lower quality, and the sirloin was perhaps slightly below average, but the salmon was amazing, as was the filet mignon. Shrimp was very solid, as was the herb-crusted chicken.
Dessert was very good, though our cream puffs and cheesecake were still frozen in the middle - delaying them was sufficient to remedy this, so I don't see that as a negative at all.
In the end, we both left full and pleased with the food, and especially pleased with the experience. The price was high, of course, but worth it for the experience and for a "tasting menu" expectation.
Michael Birkel
Great experience with fondue. They cater very well to couples with their date night type options. Can do groups if you want but you would need to all want the same type of fondue since there is only one pot. Very tasty!
Ellen Burns-Johnson
Fun date night, but expensive for what you get. The food was very good, but you're paying a premium for the novelty of the fondue pot. The wine list was limited, and the overall vibe felt very... corporate, I guess? I'm glad we went but we'll probably not go again.
Joshua Virtue
My fiancé and I stopped in for dinner over the weekend. We really didn’t know what to expect, we had heard very little about this place.
It was a great experience from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left, the hostess and all of the wait staff were very friendly, our waiter was great and, the food was absolutely amazing.
Danielle Meyer
We dined this weekend and had an amazing time. Food and drinks were delicious and our server, Ian was such a delight. He was so helpful with the menu and had us laughing all through dinner.
Minh Lee
The service was excellent. But I don’t understand why would anyone wanted to eat boil chicken or boil meat. Like if its a hot pot it would make sense, but its on a skewer and dipped into broth like a fondue. The broth have no taste and the seasoning from the meat just blended into the broth and the meat was bland and pale. There’s nothing to eat it with beside the fondue which was ridiculously expensive. Overall it was very expensive and the taste just not worth it.
Star Fordham
Absolutely lovely experience! Food was AMAZING and the service was so nice. A wonderful time l would definitely return if I'm in the cities again.
Emma Strong
Great experience! We reserved in advance and they gave us a nice private booth. We arrived a few minutes early, so we had time to get drinks at the bar first. Our food was all delicious and they were very accommodating to my gluten-free diet. He actually brought me a whole separate plate of desserts so my partner could still have the original cookie offerings, etc. The waiter was friendly and conversational and definitely added to our experience. Very fun thing to do!
Yossi Lindenfeld
All I can say about the experience is WOW. IT Does not look much, but we couldn't finish all that amount of food !
R Conner
We had a great dining experience and all of the staff was very friendly. Our server, Christopher, could not have been any better. We will definitely be going back!
Rohan
This was our first time here. Our server was really nothing like the guy serving 1 table down. The other guy was explaining stuff properly and our guy just looked like he wanted to run as fast as possible. We had to figure things out by eavesdropping the other table.
The food saved the day. A+
Fiona Woodard
Chris was our server and was fantastic. We tried out this Resturant for the first time and loved the whole experience. All the meat was super tender and yummy to eat.
Linda Ross
The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was good, the food was good and the style was fun going out to cook yourself lol, and paid a good price, but the experience was cool we enjoyed it. a table of six.
Carol Westphal
It was our 37th anniversary and believe it or not. About 20 of them were celebrated at Melting Pots between here and Florida. Although service and ambiance were good, the value has gone down so bad along with short pours on drinks, this was most likely our last time at the Minneapolis location.
Michael Kane
A lot of fun. It was a great experience for a date night. We went during restaurant week, and I feel we got superb value for the money! I really enjoyed the entree options. The dessert was good, but the chocolate would have been better if it was a little hotter. When it finally started to heat up, our server came over and turned it down. Other than that, our server, Tyler, was great. Very informative. I would definitely reccomend checking this place out.
Alexandru Todica
I love this place, its amazing restaurant to take someone on a special date, its very luxurious and very tasteful food.
Overall my experience for me and my girlfriend was amazing, I would really recommend this place if you like wine, cheese and chocolate!
Andy Cheng
Atmosphere – 3.5 Stars
Overall Service – 3.0 Stars
Food taste – 3.5 Stars
Food presentation – 3.5 Stars
Pricing – $$$ Expensive
First time there and was little confused about the menu. Originally thought it was pretty pricey but they gave you a lot of food. Compared to Chinese hotpot, I still like the Chinese version better. However, cheese and chocolate fondue was excellent
Brittany OMalley
I was so excited to check this place out for my sister's 18th birthday. It's a restaurant with an experience which we were so excited to try. The service was fantastic and the food was good. It was definitely an experience worth trying, but in my opinion, I will probably never go back due to how expensive it was. The food and experience was good and fun, but not over the top amazing. We spent $175 for three of us. Good, but just not worth it.
greg wagoner
The overall experience was a disappointment for the expense. Our server did a good job, but my salad was wilted. The decor is dated, and someone ran a hokey past our table while we were eating. It was early on Friday, it was not busy, and the floor was not dirty. It seemed to be a 'I need to look busy' moment. She should have waited. It was an experience that I am glad I had, but do not need to do it again.
Morgan Henriksen
Celebrated my birthday here. We had a very kind waiter recommended the Wisconsin cheddar fondue which was delicious. I choose the cookies and creme fondue for dessert. Very kid friendly. My 6 year old niece got the kids dinner. She enjoyed the whole experience and loved dipping the raw chicken into the hot cooking broth.
David Olmstead
The atmosphere and service are great. We love the steak, shrimp and other seafood but found the chicken and pork too rubbery (yes we fried it correctly). For dessert, the smore fondue is amazing! We will go back.
Calisha “Cali” Jackson
Very nice. Food was delicious. Though I had to ask for the bowl to be cleaned out and there was quite a few fruit flies. Our server was excellent and we were passed full when we left. Overall nice place.
Maxwell Erickson
Amazing experience! Our hostess, Po, gave us a great first time experience. She walked us through choosing an amazing 4 course meal. A different experience than fondue at home. The Melting Pot has a great atmosphere perfect for date night. definately going to try this again with the other options.
Yana Podo
This place is mainly for the experience not necessarily the taste of the food. At first it’s kind of overwhelming with how to order them once we forgives it out as we were eating the first course. It helps to look at other tables to see what they’re doing. Filet mignon and shrimp were my favorite out of the entrees and the dessert was delish. If I were to come back it’d be just for the dessert. The cheese and options that come with weren’t my favorite. I’d rather eat some chicken with cheese. Got the board for free for check in on Yelp. To me not worth the $13 it originally cost so glad it was complimentary.
Tessa Pehoski
It was my first time going on Saturday night. Went for a friends birthday party. Our waiter Henry was awesome and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious and left very stuffed!!
Linda Wentz
After a great workout, we decided that it was time for food so off to the melting pot we went.
This is place is convienantly located at the W hotel. It has a super laid back atmisphere and the servers are super chill. We were easily able to strike up a conversation with our server which always makes the experience feel more personal rather then a scripted dine and dash situation. As first timers here, we appriciated being walked through the menue. The server deffinatly helped us get a great meal expirence.
We decided to go for the Four Course Meal for two. First came a super yummy assortment of cheesy asparagus starter, bread, fresh veggies and apple wedges. My tastebuds hit overdrive and i hadent even finnished the first course. Next came the salads. Wowsers! Peacans and berrys in a salad= more explosive food in my mouth. Next there was some fruit dipped into wine withh mushrooms and veggies. Oh my! We werent even into the main course yet! For the main course we ended up with lobster tail, shrimp, meats and amazing sauses to go with it. I wasnt even into desert yet and I diddnt know if I could hang in there. I felt so full! Then came desert and well, theres always room for that. We ended up ordering yin yang choclate. This was the perfect balance of white and dark choclate. It came with a mix of fruit and goodies to dip it in. My tastebuds were in full blown orgasim mode by the end of the night.
I left so satisfied that I had to go home snd go into a food coma! The price was reasonable too. Only $116 for an anazing expirence fir two and the best food ever! I highly recommend this place for Valentine's day!
Nickk Hertzfield
We went for our 1st wedding anniversary. it was an amazing experience! Theodore was our server and he was great, he definitely made our dining special. We had the four course meal and it was definitely worth it. cocktails were a little disappointing in taste, but were exactly what was advertised- we just chose poorly.
thank you for making our anniversary special!
Tara Harvey
First time visiting and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only by how good the food was, but how attentive the servers were. We had multiple servers checking on us and they were amazing at keeping our table clutter free. I wish more restaurants were like this one! I also appreciated that the menu is very gluten friendly. Also, we were happy to see how clean the place was. No food on the floor or under the table, and no messy residue on the table. Keep up the good work!
Katelyn Kelly
Great time here! Good was delicious and drinks were great! Server was very informative and attentive. Our 5 year old was being quite the critic as kids can be but our server tried super hard to impress him and of course by the time we got to the dessert he was a fan! Will come back next time I visit city!
Armand Arnould
Such a wide array of flavors, and the guest service was PHENOMENAL. Loved the four courses, and my significant other was flabbergasted. Amazing choice if you're looking for a date night that will leave him/her speechless!
Koby Momma Llama
Omg the 4 coarse was amazing... Spendy but so worth it... We upgraded to Lobster tail and got a toast to end the night... Our booth was covered in rose pedals... They took our photo framed it and gifted to go with us.... So amazing... Best date night ever
Mariah Stoeckmann
Probably one of my favorite places to splurge on a meal. How can anyone go wrong with fondue!? Our servers have always been amazing every time my husband and I come here and the food has always been delicious. Big fan of the white chocolate dessert fondue. The 4 course experience is a must!!
Adrienne Jacobson
We went here for the first time last night and had a blast! Our server, Zack, did a phenomenal job taking care of us and ensuring that we made the most out of our evening!
Russell Stambaugh
How good this food is a little bit dependent on your judgment as a cook! They supply quality materials and a lot of theater, you do the actual cooking. I did not find their food compared with good European cheese fondue, but was tasty, had decent variety and provided terrific entertainment for two couples who were getting to know each other!
Devin Muellenbach
It was a date and this was my first time having fondue and it was splendid! The waiter was kind, funny, and explained anything we asked, very helpful with recommendations. Lots of variety of choices, lovely atmosphere, did I mention delicious?
alyssa wagner
Super fun. The best way to do it is the 4 courses. They start with a cheese, they have a few options, they melt the cheese and add seasoning right in front if you then they bring bread and some veggies and apples to dip in the cheese. Then they bring you a salad. Then they get a new pot started, they have a few options of cooking liquid they bring to a boil Then you put your raw meat in the pot to cook so you can cook how long or how rare you want. They have some delicious sauces to go with the meats. They also have some veggies. Then they bring a new pot for the dessert. The turtle chocolate was super good! It doesn't seem like a lot of food but we were stuffed by the end of it.
It was very clean and all the staff was very nice. It's a long dinner. We were there for 2.5 hours. It's an experience and it was very fun
Christopher Wells
Got the Pacific Rim with the Mojo (pronounced "Mo-ho"). We LOVED it! We just wish we didn't try to split an entree (one of us is pregnant, and we didn't want to worry about left-overs as we're going to a show after). Staff was super kind and helpful. We'll definitely go back! Note, expect to spend $100 for two people (if you want dessert).
Brad Carlson
Very good food. Excellent dessert! Is the price of the meal worth the high cost? Yeah I suppose. I'll definitely be going back again.
Guinevere Kile
It was my first visit and we will definitely be making another visit! Service was awesome and the food and drinks were phenomenal!
Renee Averill
Sorry this comes so late...my husband and I went to the one in Milwaukee.
The restaurant came highly recommend from my daughter...alittle confused as to how the menu worked..Zack helped us figure it out. Alittle easier once we knew what we wanted.
Pleasantly impressed and enjoyed the visit from a manager Jordan.
Thanks to Zack and his pleasantly welcomed attitude
Audrey Lord
Unique experience best saved for a special event due to the hefty price. Found out they automatically add 20% gratuity for parties of 6 - not that we wouldn't have done that on our own but I dislike being compelled. The best meat is the marinated steak, hands down.
Ray Lexvold
Great restaurant to celebrate special events. We love fondue and it’s a slower paced dinner. Save room for dessert!
Logan Martinez
Went for a family dinner hadn't been here before but I was a nice change of pace. The staff was supper nice and informative about the whole process. So don't worry about that if your new to the process. Come hungry and with a great crowd.
Emma Raven
Absolutely incredible dining experience! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was a great time. I was able to add on birthday confetti for our table, and we have a nice cozy booth tucked away that could be made private with a curtain if we wanted.
Our waiter was fantastic and attentive and took the time to explain the process and what we were served. We did the vegetarian 4-course meal with wine pairings and the food was absolutely incredible, not to mention very fun to dip or cook our own foods. The staff at the Melting Pot really made sure to give us a nice experience for our special occasion, and it was very appreciated that the chefs clearly put care into selecting and creating a vegetarian dining experience. We will absolutely be back for future special occasion dining.
Carolina Nuñez Bussolini
Really good service, product. THEY HAVE diferent types of founde.
Austin Eschweiler
I went in not fully knowing what to expect. The kind staff explained everything and was quick to make a couple accommodations we had due to allergies. Everything tasted phenomenal and would highly recommend going.
Victoria Grove
We came here for a Xmas work dinner for the first time and sat in a conference room separate from the dining area. The experience was fun but for the price I don't know if I'll come back on my own. We had a hungry group of 8 and with only 3 pots of cheese fondue going we ran out quickly. I will say that the house-recommended cheese was our favorite, it has a richer taste. We also got the spinach artichoke fondue and I would not recommend it, it was boring compared to the others. Next time we want to try the Wisconsin trio.
For the main course we liked the steak or chicken the best in the white batter then fried in the oil. The teriyaki steak was not my fav, I believe we liked the herb-crusted steak the best.
Our server was also a bit awkward, I felt like I had to break tensions a number of times which should not be my job when gratuity is built in!
Jhony Blanco
This place is great, the experience is always fun and the servers are exceptional. There are so many options and the dessert is always my favorite part. This place is great and is a fun place to come with a large group or a party of two. I've been twice and I have had great experiences both times. The Caesar salad is good too.
dominic johnson
This place is so much fun to go to and the food and service was amazing
Megan Korea
We went during the week for dinner for our 2nd anniversary dinner. My husband made a reservation easily and conveniently. We were seated right away.
We opted for the big 4-course menu for 2 people. We ate salad, had cheese fondue, meat in cooking oil, and chocolate fondue for dessert.
Our server was Joaquin and he was very kind and patient.
This was our second visit there but this one was very memorable.
The food was always prompt and perfect.
The only downside was the other booth held 2 very loud couples who were eavesdropping on our conversation about our day and would include our words into their conversation, as some sort of game or joke. It was very embarrassing telling my husband about what my dogs did, just to hear it a second or third time behind me as people laughed as if it was a punch line to a joke. We tried to ignore it, as mature adults are wont to do, but it was hard and I felt like I had to watch my words more carefully so that they would not be fodder for the next joke for the table next to us.
Sasha Alasia
Definitely worth the money. Great food! Friendly and knowledgable servers. One of my favorite restaurants.
Kaiser Anonymous
The food is expensive, but the experience was delightful and our waiter was great. The food was fantastic as well! Highly reccomend the four course.
Melissa Engelsen
Delicious food and excellent service! Ben was our waiter and he was amazing! The courses we're perfectly spaced and he super attentive and ready with a suggestion when asked. It was our 15th anniversary and we couldn't have had a better meal to celebrate!
The Lindstroms
My wife and I were in town to have a mini honeymoon and decided to give this place a try since it was right next to our hotel. We were a little confused by the menu at first, but our waiter helped us with recommendations and helped us pick out a fantastic meal. The flavors and aromas were great. Such a cool experience and great atmosphere. We told our waiter near the end of our meal we were in town for our honeymoon and he came back with a nice little display! We would recommend this place to anyone looking to try something different and enjoy a meal and company.

Omg loved this place we were an hour and a half to closer and we were still served like they just open this made my daughter's birthday so awesome and special the management was at our table making jokes and we were there last closing nobody kicked us out or made us uncomfortable ... Thank you guys 💙 …
Hannah Shanafelt
What a great place to dine for your first fondue time. Also, ask for Zach as he has a fantastic server.
Kristin
We love coming here for a romantic dinner. You really get time to savor the food and enjoy time with your dining companion.
Christopher Berg
Great atmosphere, great food, waiter was wonderful. Made for a great anniversary. Left super full after the four course meal!!!
Alyssa Kervin-Stroth
The food and drinks are definately worth the money. I would suggest coming here for very special events. It is a really fun place to go. Expect to dine for 2 hours minimum. I highly recommend trying the duck and filet mignon. The tropical sangria is delicious too!
Joan K
I've been hoping to get here for years and my daughters treated me for my birthday. So delicious, good wait staff.
Ryan Michael
Love 💕 love 💕 love 💕 this place. I know I can always come here and get great food and fantastic service. I have been to this chain in Minnesota and south a lot USA several times always great. Been a fan for about 15 years. The last 8 years my wife and I have been coming to this Minneapolis location off and on every anniversary and 1-4 other times in between. We have had a multitude of severs throughout the years but always good. Management did a little special something for us a few years back for our 5th year anniversary (special happy anniversary message on the dessert plate). But tonight we came out as a family and had Fabian hands down the best server I have ever had at any location. I hope he is here in august when we come back for our anniversary. I have a lot of friends that don’t want to try because it’s a little pricey and you have to cook your food but believe me well worth the time money and experience with good company. If you decide you want not only a great meal but a great atmosphere service and experience come here and request Fabian for your server.
Nathan Burgau
Pretty pricey for the amount of food you get. You're paying for the location, not the food. Reservation was made for 4 people and they attempted to seat us at a table with one burner. Had to ask to be switched to a table with two burners. Food was good, not great. Waiter was very helpful. Would go back but won't be anytime soon.
Avery Lees
We had the full 4 course experience for 3 people and spent about 220. The food was good and the sirloin was surprisingly tender, but I wouldn't say it was quite 200 dollars good. Our server, Ben, was very patient and good with answering our questions, but once it got a little busy we waited a little longer than I'd like to between courses. Overall it's a good experience and I'm glad I went, but for the price point I would expect to have some of the best food I've ever eaten.
Ben Theis
Was a nice place to try but it's vastly outdated atmosphere and decor and slow service was disappointing. The amount of food you get for the price I thought was a solid deal and the food itself was good. With no vents above you though, you end up smelling like the cooking oil leaving. Was cool to try but don't need to necessarily go back.
Allison Bakke
We went as a group. Our server was excellent. Very nice and made the experience fun. The whole frying my (main course) food wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it would be. Hot oil and smelling like fried food when we left wasn't appealing to me personally. I did enjoy the dessert and etree options (cheese and chocolate) fondue. If I go again I'd stick with those.
apurva vadapurkar
Start with a cheese fondue and jump to dessert if u are a vegetarian. Good for one time experience. Very pricey
Lauren Fluder
We did the 2 for $100 four course meal and it was very filling and delicious! The staff were helpful, the waiter was very friendly and added to the experience and everything inside was clean and well decorated. Food was great!
My only hesitation here is that it ended up being a very long experience and I wasn't expecting that. We arrived around 6pm and didn't get out of there until almost 9pm. Not worth docking a star, but it is would have been great to know that prior.
Mrs. Higher Powers
The wait staff was friendly but the food experience was okay.
Alezza Lizbetth
Server was attentive and sweet.. Food was amazing... Drinks were delicious as well .
Chelsea Grundmeyer
Open table app let me get a table that wasn’t actually available but the host accommodated anyways, we got a wonderful private seat facing the street, our server was super awesome and the food was on point!
Chris Arnett
My wife and daughter love this place... It's not really for me. Plus it's really expensive and the food is not really that fancy... Just raw meat you soak in hot water. Atmosphere is real nice. Wait staff is nice... The food is just not my cup of tea.
The cheese and the chocolate are great though.
vasiliy pakhnyuk
Cool experience, fun way to eat. However too much flavors being mixed in together caused some dissatisfaction with the taste.
Marximus
Definitely a different dining experience! Staff was great at explaining how things work, and how to order. Food was great. Fun atmosphere for the family. We had a large group (12 adults, 2 kids). We were there over 2 hours, pushing 2 1/2. Four coarse meal. Dip and cook your own food. Variety of meat, veggies, breads, fruits, and deserts to dip into different cheese blends, flavored cooking oils, and chocolates. Try to order in pairs. Gets expensive for singles. Have to agree with people at your table on what you want to dip your food into, which wasn't a big deal. Too expensive for me to come back other than a special occasion. Glad we went there, it was worth it!
Ana Alexandra
Amazing food. My boyfriend and I did the 4-course experience. We ordered Wisconsin cheddar fondue for the starter. Then got salads. It was fun cooking our own meats and veggies in the broth. Dessert was extraordinary. We got the milk chocolate fondue with little treats to dip into the fondue. Also got the cheesecake which was red velvet I believe. We left very stuffed. Such a fun, fancy place to eat!
Miechi Johnson
Loved it. We have been to many locations. This one is top 3.
Literally only reason my daughter left the house and went on a road trip with me was to come here. Did not disappoint.
Derik Michael
I wasn't sure what to expect at first but I actually ended up loving it. When you walk in it looks so small and casual but as the server leads you through more and more rooms and halls you're like whoa this place is pretty big and really nice. We sat down in our large booth and group of 6 to a table with built in cook tops where your cheese will eventually go into pots for dipping. My wife and I ended up ordering the classic which comes with different types of bread and cheese for dipping. Then comes a salad of your choice... Amazing!! After that the meat comes out with 6 types of dipping sauce. All of them so gooooood. Then just when it just cant get it any better out comes the dessert. Fruits, cookies, cakes and chocolate for dipping. Over all so good. Be prepared to spend a couple hours here and a little money. $50ish a person and they add the 20% gratuity into the bill.
Check it out you will definelty have a good time.
Gabriel James
Only three staff members on duty that I could see. The music was not my taste, it was mostly old jazz. It was happy hour, so cheese and chocolate were half off. If you order the dark and dulce chocolate fondue, you might just get a mouthful of salt.
Jesse Barnes
Really delicious! Nice place for a date night. Staff was super nice and really did a great job. Can't wait to go back.
Selena Kopas
Great food, great ambience and even better food with many options to choose. We had Big Night Out which was well worth it.
Krystal Combs
Our first time there, and the server was amazing! He made sure to explain everything. Every thing tasted so good!
Rick Plumer (Cisco)
Great way to have a interactive meal. The experience almost forces you to get "involved" with the members of your party. Food is simple but delicious! Its hard to believe how satisfied you are after your meal, such small" cubes" of food that are so filling! Be prepared to relax and enjoy your meal.
Ethan Klee
Excellent food, amazing and friendly staff. 3 stars only because I got a reservation for my 2 year anniversary and to propose to my partner, so did one of the romantic packages they advertise - then the host sat a family with very young and loud children immediately next to us. The way the seats in the little alcove we were sat in is laid out, the ceiling projects all audio from one table to the other, so we could barely hear each other and could only hear the table with said kids.
Needless to say, didn't propose, since shouting kids don't set a very romantic atmosphere. Next time will just spring for the solo table package, but still couldn't believe a host would sit a family of young kids next to the only romantic package in the restaurant, when the restaurant was 'dead' according to multiple employees.
Romantic package was actually very nice with rose petals on the table and made my partner feel really special which is great.
Our server was amazing and knowledgeable and made the dining experience easy and informed, incredibly friendly guy, was an absolute joy to have as a server. Also a shout out to the broth man/busman who was also incredibly friendly and helpful.
Shana Sandoz Thiele
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G place! Great food, wonderful staff and yummy drinks!!!
Hannah Wethern
It was a lot of fun and good food. Just be aware that it is super expensive. I honestly don't feel it was worth that much money. For two people it was about $200 and we didn't order alcohol.
K G
Great service! Easy to make reservations, convenient parking, friendly person who greeted us and showed us to our table. I arrived a lttle before my friend but was seated per my request. The restrooms were neat and clean. The waiter was very friendly and explained all the details to get the best experience possible. His name I can not recall but he was very helpful. The food was great and well worth the money. I had been to this restaurant before and recommended this for my friend who never tried Melting Pot before. She also enjoyed herself. I look forward to coming back. And the whiskey drink was very good!
jereme schulz
Our experience was great, the service was amazing. The only problem we had with service is that most of our group were new to the process and our waiter didn't explain things well. We had to ask multiple times about cook times and ordering. Also, the table they put 7 of us at was small for 7 people, we really didn't have shoulder room and this is something you need elbow room for. Other than that the experience was phenomenal. We really enjoyed the food and the experience. It's a great experience, but a bit costly to do often.
Katie Gundle
This was a phenomenal dining experience! Take your time and don’t try to do this in 40 minutes flat. It’s worth taking your time! We did the 4 course endless meal with Tyler, and he was FANTASTIC! He was on top of his game and gave great recommendations! Such a wonderful meal and a great date night! Definitely a must do!
Bruce Kuiper
Fun unique experience, with phenomenal service. It's definitely on the more expensive side of things, but if you know that going in, you can relax and enjoy the experience. Delicious food, great atmosphere, fun times. Did I mention how great the people were?
Michael Shonty
My wife and I came to The Melting Pot to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary and we had a great time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was good, and the staff were incredible.
If this is your first time they'll explain everything to you, but be aware you will be cooking your own food. It's not hard at all, but it's good to be aware of.
All in all we had a great time and were looking forward to going back. Big shout out to Ian, or guide to the whole experience. He kept us informed entertained, and made sure we had everything we needed.
TheAmazingWorld OfNi-Ni
It was a very nice experience. We had a private room, the waiter was friendly (cracking jokes with us), and the food and drinks were pretty good. Of course it's a fancy restaurant, so the cheapest thing you can get is a salad (just a warning). Also it is located on a busy strip so you'll have to find parking on the street. We didn't see anywhere else to park, but, at the same time, we were in a rush because we were running late for our reservation. Maybe they had an indoor garage parking type of deal. But this was our first time there and we didn't have time to ask 🤷🏽♀️. Luckily it was a spot at the door when we arrived.
Fenris Marks
Had date night they are the food is amazing the staff or incredibly nice and helpful would go there on a regular but it is pricey still absolutely worth it though
Nick Doten
The Melting Pot was a delightful experience for our anniversary. They have great options for every taste and style. I can fully recommend it for a special event.
Ryan Taylor
We popped in for an impromptu drink before dinner down the street, Happy Hour here is great value most cocktails are $6 needless to say we managed to get our night off to a great start!
Aimee Petko
Good experience, however bout 60 person.. a little over priced for the amount of food
Our bill160 for two, had a few drinks
Frances Lundheim
Food was delicious, service was mediocre, especially for the price. I am a server myself and know the level of service I provide and this was sub par at best. I made a reservation with the romance package ($200. Coming through the door) they put us at the wrong table, made us wait, no apology or awareness of inconvenience. Server merely went through the motions, I expect to be treated better when I spend nearly $300 for 2 people...
Sophie Parris
Went to experience their BFF dinner, it was okay. The meat left a little bit to be desired. The dipping sauces were just meh. The dessert though ... That was wonderful. I'd go back again and only get dessert.
Libby Knapstein
So much fun! Amazing food and fantastic service 🙂
Scott Kelleher
Fantastic service, and delicious food. 😋 Yummy drinks. Too expensive …
Laura Konters
I always love the melting pot, but the experience this time was quite as spectacular as it has been in the past. I do not recommend the Wisconsin Trio - it tastes like bad white wine 😅. But nevertheless i will definitely be back again.
Khalid Abdullah
My first time coming here and it was the greatest experience ever the atmosphere wonderful couldn't ask for more will definitely come back.
Paul Kinghorn
If you're a fan of fondues (or a conversational atmosphere with friends or loved ones - my wife and I drove over 3 hours just to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary) this is a great place to be! We started with their Wisconsin cheese fondue and an assortment of food items, then to a specialty salad of your choosing (we had the California salad with spring greens, candied pecans, raspberry vingegarette (to die for) and gorgonzola for my wife. All that set out expectations for the main fondue course. The land and sea combination along with the steak lovers (throes in a lobster tail to knock it out of the park) and we're in heaven! We finished the meal with the classic chocolate (with peanut butter) dessert fondue. I'm fully on so many levels. Thanks to Henry for a great experience! Well be back.
Khristine movern
It was great ! Great service! Recommended it , our first experience there !
Tricia Hansen
Just an amazing Anniversary experience. Our waiter was absolutely amazing suggesting her favorites and making our dinner so special. Food was incredible!!! I would reccomend going for any special occasion.
Camille Gray
Wow. What a fun experinece! Our waitiress Jess was top notch too. Knowledgeable, attentive, and FUNNY!
Certainly would go back. Quiet, romantic, super fun!
William Connell
Went here for date night and had a wonderful experience! Opted for the big night out for two and was not disappointed. Our server Jessica was incredibly knowledgeable and made our night one to remember. The fondue style of dining provides an intimate evening full of conversation as you navigate the many courses. We will definitely be back.
Joshua Kramer
Always a fun experience coming here. The wait staff is helpful and friendly, which goes a long way since they're basically helping you make your own food. The food itself is always good, even if you aren't an expert at cooking meat in broth or oil. If you do the whole 4 courses plan to spend at least 2 or 3 hours, but it'll be worth it.
Teia Johnson
Amazing service we loved it. A little spendy for what you get! But still an amazing experience.
Ryan Rodlund
Wonderfully diverse ingredient combinations make for a delightful menu. As a group you can really come up with a great tasting 4 course meal that never ceases to surprise.
Drinks were also unique that accompanied the food well.
Crissy Fordham (cfwander)
We very much enjoyed our previous visit, but this time around, not being from MN or frequent travelers to the city, we were unaware of the requirement to have proof of vaccinations or recent negative COVID test. It was a little disappointing to drive all the way there and I feel those requirements should be more obvious on the email or website (they are included on the email, just not very noticeably). We'll know for next time, at least!
Jay Udani
Celebrated a birthday. Very memorable experience. Worth every $$$
Cassie Mathews
Only lost 2 stars bc I think the price was a bit too high. Our server was amazing and we had a great time, but definitely over priced. Otherwise, everything was pretty delicious and fun. I love how the tables are set up to give everyone privacy.
Sarah Marrinan
It's always amazing here! Choose your base wisely with your main course and you won't be disappointed.
Ana Peralta
Before going, plan on spending over $100 for 2-3 people for a 4 course meal. That being said, food and drinks were AMAZING! We loved the Love Martini and Bom Pop! And the chocolate fondue... WOW! All of the employees were so kind and helpful! And our server Ben, was outstanding! Thank you!
P.S. You can buy purchase the Garlic & Wine Seasoning 😍
M J
super awesome! went here for my 21st birthday and it was outstanding! the food and service was so good i almost didn’t notice the crazy guy at the table next to us! (until he got up and asked to fight my boyfriend lol) but anyway, drinks were awesome and there’s so much food you will definitely be taking home leftovers! if you’re in the area check it out, really good for dates and celebrations!! (hopefully there’s no weirdos at the table next to you haha!!)
Melissa Quiring
Great service and delicious food and good choices to make it your own. Great date night experience.
B Gray
This is definitely an experience to have. I can say that I didn't leave hungry!
Amanda
Very fun dining experience. We had a very helpful and friend server. The food was beautifully displayed. It is a little higher at about $45 per person but the experience is well worth the cost. Very clean throughout the restaurant. Would recommend making a reservation a day or more ahead of time.
Mariah
Great service- our server was so nice! It was the food + price that was a little disappointing. Plus, the lobby felt very threadbare, everyone in our party thought we entered the wrong door for a minute.
Claire Ryan
I have no idea why so many reviews are negative or anything less than excellent. I give five stars for both the food and the service. We were seated right away, ordered quickly, and were brought the first course right away. The waiter had perfect timing of when we were done with one course and ready to bring us the next. He asked us for every single course if we needed more dippers to finish off the fondue with or if there was anything we liked that we wanted more of. The manager even came around to introduce herself, check on people, and ask how the service was. You are educated clearly and extensively on how to handle the meat; anyone who gets food poisoning only has themselves to blame. We were totally stuffed by the end of dessert. Yes the food is expensive, but this is a nice restaurant and you are also paying for a unique experience. Obviously you would not come here all the time to grab something to eat, but if you want to splurge on a nice meal or celebrate a special occasion this place is perfect.
Janine Schug
We went for our anniversary and it was amazing! I splurged and added on the 25 dollar touch of romance/celebration and it was well worth it!
Jesse Smoczyk
It was a new experience for me I have never had fondue before it was a very nice place but I thought the prices were extremely high for what we actually received
Ironmaged PvP
The scenery and music was cool toned, the waiter was very kind, and the food was delicious! The ability to cook the meat to your preference right in front of you is really nice and let's you experiment if youd like, which adds to the fon(due)!
Don Fuller
We went for my wife's birthday. The food was excellent and our server did a great job. The ambiance is odd. The closed in corridors made it feel like I was dining in an office building. Also, for what you get the price is a bit high. It is experiential dining, but the experience doesn't quite live up in my opinion.
Kimberly Homan
We went with a group of 8 people and most had never been to The Melting Pot. Our waiter, Anthony, was fantastic! He did a great job explaining everything, giving recommendations, and making it a fun experience for all. Thanks Anthony and all the staff for the delicious food and good time!
Hannah Schwemmler
Great instructors/waiters. Super fun experience for a date
Tate Warren
Wonderful birthday dinner. Incredible food, incredible service. All around great experience.
Kelly Bates
I loved the experience. Thought what they gave you in food was not equal to the amount of money we spent. $188 for three people with no alchol purchased. Menu says $100 for 2 people. It was fun. Thought the bread and few crumbs of carrots for cheese were the worst part. The meat was seasoned well, the salad was excellent. Just not $188 worth...
Haldan P (Neon Snyper)
Kinda pricey but very worth it. High quality cuts of meats and amazing atmosphere and servers.
Emily Alexander
We've been once for the full dinner experience (it was great!) but we've stopped in a couple times for dessert after concerts downtown when walking back to our car. The restaurant is usually pretty empty later in the evening and the dessert hits the spot! Such fun options for a late-night snack :)
Ahna Lassegard
Nice, private booths and atmosphere! The waiters know their information, and the food is delicious!! I suggest the fondue experience but choosing your own meats/foods if you are looking for a more reasonable portion. The dessert was delicious enough to make me eat even more food despite being VERY full! Also, if you go there for your birthday they give you balloons, melting chocolate, and a framed picture of you and whoever you brought!
Shari L
My daughters and fisnce took me for my bday, its been a long time but still my favorite and now theirs.
Bunneo Q
A very unique experience that I highly recommend. The food is delicious and you're the one who cooks it so you can decide how done you want your food. Young and/or inexperienced cooks may have issues so I recommend making sure it's cooked. We did the 3 course meal and you would think that you would eventually get full but it's just all so good! Our service was mediocre at best.
Travis Wichman
The food and overall experience was great! The privacy of the booth was awesome and staff was great. A reservation would be needed for sure if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic. The only negative would be, we were interupted 5 times before we left asking if we were done and started to clean up our area while we were still eating.
Bey Blade
This was an unbelievable experience. The Fiesta chees fondue was like a flamenco dance in my mouth. There were so many rich flavors. The entrée fondue was also amazing. We wanted to try a variety of meant and we got that through the classic. This assortment of chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp was just the variety that we wanted. If you can't do a fiv dinner for two, a cheese and entrée or entrée and chocolate
Benji Tri
We had a great time here! Went on Restaurant Week (a cheaper, slimmed-down menu) and not only was it tasty food, but service was great and the whole thing is kind of an experience. The wait staff is very patient in taking first-timers through how to fondue-your-food, cook in oil, pick your cheese and chocolate and so forth. Every two people at a table get a pot, so I would recommend a group of four so you can order two different pots at each course and get a wider variety.
Dan On Paper
Have been several times. Higher price then most restaurants, but it's an experience. Has a convenient parking ramp right by it. Highly recommended for a fun time out .
Pondbuilder Guy
We love the place. We just ate here in April of 2016. We had been here on adult dates and tonight we ventured in with our 2 year old son. The server was great and didn't ignore him n but the manager was the star. He kept giving him extra attention, gave him a balloon, them some snacks. The meal takes about 2 hours when chatting and our son did great. We did take him on a walk for a few. But otherwise it went way better than we thought. Definitely coming back. Appetizer, salads, main course, dipping sauced for main course, and finally the chocolate at the end were all worth the money to us.
Good service, good management and great meal. Look forward to more times here!
Morgan Held
I went here with some friends this Sunday and it was one of the most fun dining experiences we've had! Being in college, spending money on eating out is a huge treat but the experience was definitely worth the price.
This is a place to come if you're looking to have fun while you eat. The food was tasty and the portions weren't huge which was great since we wanted to enjoy dessert without feeling stuffed. Our server (Zach) was excellent and very friendly, his great service topped off the experience.
Thanks Melting Pot for making our Sunday night great!
Mackenzie Johnson
James was fantastic! We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed every last bite of our food!
Andy Burch
Geat place for your special occasions
A Toaster
Definitely go check it out at least once for the experience, but the price might keep you at bay for repeat visits. Our server was incredibly friendly and outgoing, and was very willing to explain how everything worked since it was our first time doing cheese fondue. I do wish that their menus were a little more self-explanatory for newbies like me so that I didn't have to bug the waiter so much. We ended up doing the multi-course experience, and while it was good, it wasn't anything that absolutely blew my mind. Fun way to dine, though!
Makayla Tilton
Went here for a friend's birthday just the other day. Was not busy at all because it was a weekday which was really nice! The food was delicious and we had a blast! Only problem was the waiter we had. He was super rude to us when we had questions because it was our first time there. Also kept rolling his eyes when we asked for a refill on drinks, he rarely checked up on us so refills took forever. I would not want him as a waiter again! It was hard trying to enjoy a nice dinner out with friends when he was so rude. Was annoyed when there was an automatic tip put on because I don't think he deserved that much of a tip. Other than that it was a blast and the food was great!
Aleece Holmgren
Melting Pot is amazing! My go to spot for a night out. Their love martini is my favorite drink. A perfect combination of sweet and light. You can't go wrong with their house salad. Don't forget their homemade garlic wine seasoning!
Brooke Schutta
AMAZING! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and professional, did a great job! We did the four course meal and each course was to die for. We were seated in small booth with a curtain, candle on table, it was very romantic. Make sure you give yourself a couple hours so you can slowly enjoy all of the food. Well worth the money. Drinks were great too. New favorite date spot for sure!
Mary R
Very fun experience. Our server was very nice and made our anniversary so special!
Katie Sheeks
The cheese was delicious, we had the Wisconsin Cheese. The salads were great and our server gave us suggestions as to how to improve them. We had the Minneapolis Fusion which was good but we enjoyed the Land and Sea entree more. Our server also gave us a few pointers on how to improve our sauces for dipping our entrees that was fantastic. The Pure Chocolate (Milk Chocolate) dessert was fabulous. Our server Jennifer was absolutely amazing! I have never had a server be so attentive and friendly. She was always prompt with our food and made us feel like we were her only table, even though she was busy. She helped give us hints on what would taste good with our entrees and salads. She was so friendly and was genuinely interested in what we had to say and really connected with us. We were out celebrating our four year anniversary and she was the cherry on top of our fantastic night. We weren't sure where to go for the night but we are so glad that we choose The Melting Pot and got Jennifer as our server, she is the best waitress either of us have ever had.
Jack
This place is great! Definitely best date spot in the twin cities. The atmosphere is great especially for couples. They have booths for two that have a curtain for privacy. The food is delicious and there’s plenty of it. I always want to go back because there’s so many things to try and they all sound good. If you’re looking for something extra special for dessert, ask if they can do the bananas foster.
Emily Day
What an unique experience! Reservations are a must, and make sure to have plenty of time. For a full four course dinner it will likely take 2-3 hours. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, out server demoed some fun tips for cooking things up with some flare. It was such a treat to eat at such a relaxed paced, lots of time for conversation and fellowship. Definitely a pricey place plan on about $50 per person. If you can't manage to make the full four course experience work, try to make the trip just for dessert. Enjoy your fondue!
Theadora Sanford
The music is low enough and the booths are high enough so we felt like we were more alone than we really were, and we were able to talk at a comfortable volume. Our waiter (Joaquin, I believe) was very helpful in explaining how the menu worked and how long to cook all the morsels. The food itself was well presented and fresh tasting. We had the 4 course meal with 1 steak lovers plate and 1 classic, and everything was delicious. The bananas foster dessert fondue was a lot of fun. We will have to do this again!
Jacob Komorowski
Me and my mom went to this amazing restaurant while we were visiting Minneapolis. The food was great, and the people were very friendly! I recommend anybody visiting Minneapolis to come to this restaurant. Ari (our waitress) was on her first day, was very friendly, and made funny jokes. We loved it, and hopefully, you would love it too.
Brett Tidrick
This was a fun experience. The food was amazing and full of flavor. There is a lot of variety and different options to choose from. The service was awesome and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made several helpful suggestions. It may be easy to think it's not very filling, but I was stuffed by the time I was done.
Brandon
We went here for our ten year anniversary and it was also our first time ever being here. It was an amazing experience! Our server Calvin, and the manager made the evening extra special and we're very accommodating to the fact that we were noobs! We got sat in what they call, "lover's lane". It's a row of three private tables, with optional curtains. It was perfect for what we were after.
I would like to suggest one minor improvement though, that each table get some kind of timer that's easy to follow in case you have different meats that require different times all going at the same time. Get a couple drinks in you and you tend to lose track of time. ;) Overall, thanks for a great experience!! We're absolutely coming back again and hopefully soon!
Nick Barger
It was our first time dining at The Melting Pot, and I must say I was blown away. The 4-course meal we shared was absolutely delicious, and our server Ryan made our first time particularly special. He gave us amazing service and I can honestly say I don't have a single complaint! Will most definitely come back in the near future! 🔥🤙🏻
Derek Rogers
Prices are fairly high ($50+ per person), but you do get a lot of food. This is an upscale fondue restaurant, so it may be a different experience than you are used to. The servers are more than happy to guide you along the ordering and cooking processes. Everything tasted great, great atmosphere, and location. Would definitely return.
Andrew Johnson-Cowley
Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends. The food was good and our server was really great. The food for me is a meh. More atmosphere than culinary undertaking but overall it was a fun experience.
Charlotte Swenson
I was brought to melting pot to celebrate my birthday and the experience was beyond what I expected!! Had an amazing time, stuffed belly, and a service worker discount (Monday nights). Thank you Henry (server), and Lisa (GM) for the exceptional experience. Can’t wait to be back!!
Eric Barnitt
I was a little underwhelmed by my trip here. At a place like this, it all boils down to service. Ours was just inconsistent. He swung by our table way too often during the first course, delivered the salads way too soon (we had just gotten out cheese fondue!), and then disappeared for long stretches during our meat fondue. He also had a weird of saying things super fast, like an auctioneer would talk. It was sort of funny the first time - not so much the 3rd time.
I also really think the restaurant needs to do a better job talking people through the cooking liquid options. Since you are stuck with what you pick it's a big choice. My guest and I both agreed we would have picked a different option had we known more about them.
These attributes bring an otherwise decent experience down to a mediocre one. If you want to drop this kind of money on a good dinner, you can do better elsewhere.
Courtney Bolte
The food was tasty, experience fun, and service great, but portion size compared to the price wasn't really worth it. Going as a couple or a bigger group is probably the most ideal. With three people it didnt seem like the cheese or chocolate courses were any different than had we been 2 people ordering. Also, everyone at the table had to choose the same fondue, you couldn't order a couple different cheeses or chocolates to try, which other fondue restaurants I've tried have offered. Would be a fun date night for 2 people, but for the portion size for 3 and having to all agree on one fondue option, probably wouldnt go back for the price.
Joe Hoffman
Great service, great food. Only go here with people you really like because it is an experience, you slowly enjoy your food over multiple courses. Servers are like chefs themselves and guide you through it.
One and two stars are whiners, ignore them. I've been here dozens of times over the years. If you want a cheap meal go to Applebee's, if you want a unique culinary experience this is a great choice.
Jennifer Chamberlin
I always enjoy my time at melting pot. The food is good and the servers are amazing at answering questions. I had to be dairy free for awhile and they were able to accommodate and it was still amazing. I did go with 8 people and we were given 2 burners which felt really small but was still fun.
Bob Hoffman
Unique. Delicious. Expensive.
The four course meal is a lot of food. They kinda push you toward that but you don't have to do it. The rubbed pork and steak were wonderful. And of course the chocolate fondue at the end was the highlight of the meal. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was very nice. Almost a semi-private feel to it.
Joe Albrecht
My table left rather confused because things were never well explained to us. It was an interesting experience, might come back in the future to have a better experience.
Definitely on the expensive side.
Tara Bayles
We go in several times a year for birthdays and celebrations. We have consistently had terrible experiences with waiters when we dine in the restaurant, however, the male bartender with the longer brown hair always makes up for it. He provides great service, always remembers us (or pretends to, at least!) and makes great recommendations. We choose to only go in for dessert in the bar area now.
Samantha Potter
Overall, this place is pretty good. The entire experience is fun and the food is good. The only negative experience I had was the service. The experience took about 3hrs, because our server forgot about us and would appear every 20-30min. This made the experience very frustrating because half the time we were waiting on our server to stop by our table to bring us the next dish - and no it was not very busy that night. So, I would recommend this place to anyone that has a lot of time to kill, because you might be sitting there for 3hrs depending on who you have (average experience should take only an hour and a half, we asked).
Brock Kobriger
My girlfriend secretly booked a romantic anniversary experience and it was amazing. They had a sectioned off private table with rose pedals on it waiting when we arrived. It was adorable. The cheese and chocolate was delicious and our waiter Terrance gave us excellent service. Would recommend to anyone.
Derick Smith (Bubba)
Food wad good, but the portions were small and took almost 2 hours for the whole meal, so prepare for that.
Marty Richter
Great place to go for date night, if you get 3 or 4 courses you can easily spend a couple hours here and with a couple drinks the bill can easily be over $100. The food has always been good and it's been a great experience every time I've been there. (And if you get seated by the kitchen you can laugh at the servers announcing "corner" as they round into the kitchen. Each has their own way of saying "corner", my favorite was the one with a man-bun who said it in sing-song style every time.)
Daniel Picard
Great restaurant in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. The service is great! The food is tasty.
But the portions are small!
For a fondue restaurant, we ran out of our cheese fondue for our appetizers!
The quality of the meats and veggies great.
Eating dinner here is an event. It is not quick. But it is fun! Plan on being here at least 2.5+ hours per meal.
Jack Freiermuth
I am glad I tried it once, but I wouldn't go back. It was a fun and unique experience, but the price for the quality of food wasn't worth it. Even the coffee was watered down so much I couldn't drink it. It was fun cooking things on the skewer and it came with a lot of good sauces. The desert was melted chocolate that you could dip fruits or cakes in which was delicious.
Ashley Jones
Went here for my birthday. My partner paid for the romantic package and they messed up on a lot. I'm not sure what he spent but I know it wasn't worth it. Got our reservation wrong and I was present for the book and confirmation of time (each separate days) we showed up and the table wasn't ready. Then they took a photo and it was absolutely so awkward because the girl fumbled with the camera for 5 minutes before realizing the SD card wasn't in it. They never brought us our complementary champagne. And the waiter was definitely new and struggling with the overall process of fondue. Food was good but the staff need some work.
Patrick Testerman
We took my daughter here for her birthday and it is a very unique dining experience, but is also very expensive for what you get. The cheese Fondue is incredible, and the dessert fondue was quite good as well. We found the main course to be just average, though. The total cost with gratuity was almost $70 per person - Google needs to add a few $$$’s to their summary. For the money you can do a whole lot better.
Katie Zehowski
We love it here. A little expensive, but worth the experience.
Jennifer Melby-Kelley
I go here with my wife every time we are in town because it’s her favorite place to eat. We are always treated very well by the staff and get excellent service.. tonight was no exception! Our server, Nick, did a fantastic job! He was attentive, made us feel comfortable, gave us a laugh and went above and beyond to wish us well on our way. He deserves a raise- best waiter we’ve had at your establishment yet! Keep up the good eats and vibes, Melting Pot. We will see you again soon!
Tyler Beadle-Follis
I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. For my girlfriend's graduation I decided to take her to The Melting Pot and she absolutely loved it.
The food was delicious and the cheese was gooey. As well as our waitor was very knowledgeable. He had answers to all of our questions and no problem accommodating our specific needs. You go for the food and the experience and hands down it's the best all-in-one package you'd get!
Hadi Moe
So I was here on the 21st of May celebrating my birthday. We had the 4 course and The service was excellent and so was the food. We enjoyed the experience of cooking our own food at a restaurant. Also our waitress brought me a plate filled with strawberry and a candle as a birthday cake which was really nice of him. However, on our way home, our stomachs felt a little different. We didn't know what the problem was. If it was the raw meat that we cooked. Or the dairy in the chocolate but something didn't seem right after all. We had to stop at a gas station because my gf didn't feel good. And neither did I but she had a worse reaction.
If someone isn't used to cook raw meat, they should be careful when considering eating there. Also if you have problems with dairy you might also want to be careful with what you choose. We would go there again but We don't think our stomachs would want that.
Alexa Brindamour
Great atmosphere and great service. Made a reservation and ended up having to push it back for 30 minutes and they were so easy to work with! The food was GREAT! You get SO MUCH variety for every course. Highly recommend dessert!
Jonathan Baum
Great Service! Victor the bartender took care of us for our meal in the bar area. Great knowledge, amazing wine selection. It's is a little pricey, but the quality of the food far exceeds the price on the menu. Highly suggest Mondays if you work in the service industry.
Eli Lutgens
Very expensive. But it was okay/good. The servers were very nice. The one bought my friend a free piece of cake! I'd never had fondu before and it was a positive experience.
Tyler B.
The cheese fondue and dessert fondue were great! But the meat/entree course was underwhelming. I would probably go just for cheese and dessert 😅
Shelly Jirak
The pricing per potion size was high, drinks were not very good. Over all wasn't the experience I thought it would be. Our waiter and the staff however were fantastic and I'm sure this would be a lot more fun in huge groups. Very lack luster for girls night tho.
Jody Cullen
Went on a long overdue date night with my wife. Service was fantastic!! Our waiter Zack was amazing. Food was also fantastic. A bit pricey to make it a regular event, but well worth it tonight!
Joshua
The portions were a tad small for the price, but the experience more than made up for it. Getting a group to agree on cheese and cooking styles was entertaining in its own right. The meal was more meditative than I usually have, which made for a nice change.
Kate B
We found this place online and there wasn't any prices on their menu, so definitely not prepared for the prices. $30-40 per person and $10-15 drinks (wouldn't order those again, not worth it). The different courses and food were very good. Dessert was a lot of fun! Downside was the sheer amount of time it took to get our food. We stopped for lunch and were there 2.5 hours. The server explained the whole process, so I understand it taking so long when there are no chefs and the servers prepare all the dishes and broths in back, but they need an expediter or something!
Chris Hayne
Enjoyable experience. A little pricey but have to expect that for a Downtown specialty meal. Had the Ahi Tuna, Lobster tail and Duck. The hot cheese aspect and dipping raw veggies in it seemed odd to me, but the meal itself and dessert was very good. The young man who was our server was fun to deal with too.
Nicholas Howison
Look. It's fondue. You can't expect a mind-blowing, professionally created meal that will leave you wanting more for weeks. After all, you cook your own food. For what it is, The Melting Pot is amazing. It's a unique culinary experience that one really can't get anywhere else.
My gf and I went to celebrate our anniversary. She had been to one in Michigan and this was my first Melting Pot excursion. From the get-go, the service was phenomenal...I mean it. The wait staff was incredibly polite and helped us navigate through the somewhat complicated menu. They were very attentive without being overbearing. Someone even swung by our table to wish us a happy anniversary. You can tell they strive to go above and beyond.
The food was exactly what I expected -- nothing mind-blowing, but satisfying and delicious. I can't really even complain about the price...we each got a four course meal and three drinks. The total bill was just over $100.00.
I'd highly recommend this place for any celebration, date night or if you just want to try something new and unique.
Senthil Meganathan
Fun experience for the whole family. Amazing food and drinks.. for any first timers, when you enter the facility, the check-in desk there, is only for the bar/lounge seating area. You actually have to proceed further inside to check in for the restaurant seating. We were waiting for few minutes at the front before someone came by and told us about the other check in area. This would be the only feedback if they could have a sign or something to let people know if the first check-in desk is not going to be staffed at all times.
Paige Clark
I had reservations for two people at 7:00 on a Friday night. When we arrived at 7:00 they said it would be about 20 minutes. They apparently lost our reservation and we ended up waiting at the bar for about 45 minutes. When we were finally sat they rushed through explaining the menu. Once we finally got our bottle of wine and food we were very impressed. The food was well worth the wait and the frustration. Even though they messed up our reservation and we ended up spending about 3.5 hours here the food was WELL WORTH THE WAIT. It's definitely more of an expensive meal and I'll save it for special occasions. But I can't wait to go back and get more delicious food!
Samuel Van Cook
Love this spot. On my wife and my last visit we had wonderful food and drinks.
We love having fondue as a date option. My wife loved the basil lemonade as a pregnant option.
At the end of our visit I spilled part of my whiskey and our server gave me a new one.
Great service and great cheese! What more could a body want?
Andrew Haugen
This was one of the most enjoyable times I have ever experienced! They have tons of fun extras that can really make it a nice date night! Definitely will be going here again! The food was great and so was the atmosphere!
jason maney
Very expensive just to cook your own food
Carla Anderson
Great place to celebrate. They had rose petals and a set of wine glasses with a note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Staff was very nice. Our experience took about two hours.
Michael Kipper
As always, the experience, quality of food and service were top notch. From a wonderful cheese course, to a delicous dessert, it was a great meal. I wasn't as impressed by this year's Mother's Day selection, but with the regular menu on offer, there were plenty of options.
Brian Mathews
Different dining experience. Wife loved it. Desserts and appetizers were really good. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and helped answer questions.
Joseph Partyka jr.
The customer service could have been a little bit better. The food was great though once again anybody that is downtown I would recommend this place for the food but the front desk was sort of rude about a reservations. The waiting staff was great other than that I would recommend this place to any locals or anybody visiting downtown minneapolis.
Amy Matasovsky
We went there for our wedding anniversary this weekend . Our server was really nice and helpful . We've been here before, but it's been awhile, so he walked through each step with us . Somehow our reservation got cancel ,but they were able to get us a table in one of those nice little private booths. It was just a really nice evening and fun experience.
K J
I have gone here twice, and would probably go back nightly if I could afford it. A decent meal for two is about $100, really not too bad. The cheese fondue is amazing. The waitstaff is great.
Josh Bertocki (syrinx_priest)
Food was good, though overpriced, but you pay for the experience. Cheese course was alright, but the meat and desert courses were delicious. Atmosphere was very nice. Service was subpar. Waiter disappeared after the meat course, and he seemed pretty impatient with us newbies the whole time.
Josh
Seems like a fun and novel idea but in reality it's over priced and not worth the money. The beginning with bread and cheese is fun, but the meat is raw and cooks inconsistently so it's difficult to know if it's fully cooked. We followed the instructions and yet my wife got food poisoning.
The only redeeming quality was the desert fondue was very good.
**Update: Mike Stead called me from customer relations. He apologized for the incident and refunded our money without me requesting that. I increased the review to 1/5 -> 3/5 based on their customer service.
David Mattson
Melting pot won’t blow you away with any one aspect, but between the food, experience, service and atmosphere it makes for a very pleasant time. We’ve been for birthdays and it’s always a lot if fun. Seems like it would be a wonderful place to bring a group of 4+. It’s one of the few places downtown I really like.
Moriyah Arizona AtHeart Benjamin
Had a wonderful experience! 12/5/21
Nate was our server. ASK FOR NATE!!!
He made the night a blast but all the servers seemed awesome.
Derek Meyer
Had a great time here! All the food was prepared with great flavors and our server was fantastic.
Greg Pierce
Great atmosphere, service and food!
Samantha Downes-Borowski
Food and service were great, but for the price I would rather not pay an arm and a leg to cook my own food. Definitely an experience though if that is what you are looking for.
Mark Mehr
It was good but a little expensive. I should have expected it though.
Heather Wilson
The melting pot has delicious food! Kinda spendy but totally worth it! And great Martinis!
Taryn Berg
It was my first time to a Melting Pot restaurant in about 5 years, my husband's first time ever, and we both really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very friendly and helpful with selecting options from the menu, and the food was really good. I'd recommend this place!
Emily Silge
We had really great service and the food was amazing! It's a little weird for the first time because you're not sure what to get, but our waiter was very patient and gave us great recommendations! I definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Alex Norden-Mabee
Qe had so much fun. It was pur first time there and it was amazing. We loved the privet tables and loved our dessert.
Wes Phillips
One of my son's favorite restraint experiences. We usually come to the Melting Pot for special occasions as it is a bit expensive. For the price you get an amazing dining experience. I very much recommend the 3 or 4 course, desert is a must. The cheese course is my favorite. We had one of the beer cheeses last time with pretzels and veggies, was amazing. The main course is something to be savored for awhile. This is not a fast place to eat. I would say atleast 2 hours if you do the whole experience. Then you get dessert and let me tell you folks, that is defiantly why you came. Chocolate is any fashion with a crazy amount of descendants to dip in it. We love the Smores one with marshmallows and Graham crackers inside the chocolate. I often get the recommended wine flight to go with my sources. I have never been disappointed with the way they pair. Our service has been top notch every time we have been there. The small booths by the window are worth a bit more of a wait.
Diane Vasquez
The service was fantastic. The food is awesome!!!
My first time there and I loved it. A little spendy but so worth trying this place...Very fun night! You will not be hungry when you leave or disappointed!!!
Elizabeth Rogers
This place is great!! The food is delicious and so filling. Enjoyed a fun, interactive meal with great people.
Mitch Lange
Always incredible food, atmosphere and service. My only suggestion is adding tables that can support more than 2 pots for larger groups.
Adam Katch
Never had a bad experience here. Meals can be a bit pricey, but well worth it. Meat quality is very high, and it's fun to cook your own meal.... And the dessert is something heavenly.
Desiree
Always love the melting pot. Spendy but you get what you pay for. Salad is incredible and all fondue amazing. Bring friends and have great convo and food for hours. They make birthdays special 🎈 …
Aurora Leon
Had a girls night here for dinner. This place didn’t disappoint. Drinks and dinner was amazing. Recommend for all occasions. Mike the GM is awesome
T K
Eating at The Melting Pot is as much an experience as it is a meal. They bring out a variety of different dipping oils to fry your raw meat or fish or ect in. They serve it in courses and It's especially fun if you bring a big group. I've also been with just 2 people before and it's still a good experience. Don't forget to look at the price before you go, I've seen it surprise more than a few.
J Hurley
For having to cook your own food it sure is expensive the dining experience isn't worth $120 the food is good but it's not worth your buck unless you like a little portion of food for a lot of money I probably won't dine there again
LaDonna DeLorme
Food was great, we loved the 4 course meal we had tonight. It was definitely a unique experience. My husband loved the salmon. I really enjoyed the shrimp, filet and butternut squash ravioli. My favorite was the fruit with the chocolate fondue.
Jean Thornton
The food is great and the gimmick super fun for a party or special occasion. It’s too bad the waiter talked so fast, we couldn’t understand a thing he said all night. I think he was trying to tell us some safety information about the food and some memorized jokes, but we will never know. We told him we couldn’t understand him because he was talking too fast and he said a lot of people tell him that, but he kept going at the same inaudible speed. Just go for the fun of it. Be ready to splurge. It is expensive, but you won’t walk away hungry.
Wgang
They out did themselves!! Significant other got a job promotion and they made the cutest table and wrote out a bunch of “congrats” things on table and did a plate of frosting that said a cute note! It was my first time there and won’t be my only time!
Aaron Olson
We absolutely love this place! 12 years ago I purposed to my wife there in front of everyone on my knees. They had a bouquet of roses waiting on the table with a bottle of champagne for us when we showed up. They also contacted the horse an carriage ride for me to be waiting out side after dinner. We go every year for our anniversary, they treat us so good there. And because we come back every year they sometimes give us a free bottle of Champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We will be there this sat. Celebrating our anniversary once again. Thankyou so much for the memories!
Jim Keating
Great food and service. Wonderful happy hour pricing.
priyanka pria
Do you love chocolate and desserts? Then what are you waiting for? Go have fun here!
Jake Behrens
Visited for anniversary dinner and I am always impressed how the staff does their best to make your outing as special as possible. Service was good, even during dinner rush. Food was wonderful as expected.
Greg Rowland
Fun place to go for a different kind of meal. Since you cook everything yourself at your table in your pot, it can be tricky for children (there is a burner in the middle of the table that gets exceedingly hot to boil your oil). Works well for a fun change of pace meal, or as a date night.
Jillian S
The experience is exciting and different. Althouh I enjoyed the time, I was not impressed with the food. The dessert was great, everything else was bland. The salad was old. Just overall let down. Service was good.
Jason Anderson
My partner and I enjoyed our meal here before the Ben Folds/Orchestra venue on 1-20-18. We informed our server we were to be married on Saturday and he brought out a surprise for us. The server was perfect, being attentive and intuitively present, without being disruptive.
Jen Kwang
Wisconsin cheddar tasted heavily in beer and spinach artichoke was the best! Coq au Vin was okay, it had great taste of burgundy and it goes good with the filet mignon. but i love the Court Bouillon broth, it goes with everything! teriyaki filet mignon and chicken was very tender. shrimps size was okay. not a fan of the pumkin ravioli. you get 8 different kind of dipping sauce to try. dessert, the original and Yin&Yang was on point. overall the portions are very generous with reasonable price. very good long island ice tea. we had a great girls night out. our server was nice even though it was busy during dinner time.
Misty Burns
Great place for family and friends to enjoy cooking their own choice of cheese, breads, vegetables, meats and chocolate with the help of very friendly staff! Would recommend to anyone looking to spend a couple hours out to enjoy new savory flavors!
Joel Bjorge
Pricey - but the food and atmosphere are good, and the experience is really fun. Could use timers at the table or at least some laminated cards that tell you how long to cook the different types of food by the different cooking methods. Apparently there is something on their website for this, but we were only told after the meal when I made a comment about it.
Melanie L
Fun,fun, fun! A different and delicious dining experience. We were stuffed with all the good food, and our server Sylvia was fantastic! Don't come to the city often but will be eating here anytime I get the chance!
Connor
Be aware this place is very expensive. With that said this is a great place for a special occasion. Great food and knowledgeable staff.
JJ Washko
Fondue. That's all you really need to know. We enjoyed our meal. We got the multi course deal. There are lots of choices to make your meal perfect.
gobbles78 (Decatur Staleys)
We do not have a reservation so they made us it to the side and wait and see if there was an opening. Once I had an opening they asked us if we won the two courser four course meal The difference between that is the two course is the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue to having a salad cheese fondue your meat of your choice in a broth and then the chocolate fondue. The server was excellent and the food was great we did not know that we needed reservations so please call the head if you want to go into that place highly recommend the forecast meal at least once to understand how much food they actually do give for the price.
Eric Morley
Pace yourself! So rich, so much food. It's really fun to fondue at your own table, while chatting with freinds or family. But 4 courses is a lot of food. Be sure to save room for the chocolate fondue dessert!
P.S. There are some real hidden gems on the wine list!
Unstapled Lisa
I get what the Melting Pot is about, I've only ate their once, after moving Downtown almost 4 years ago.
For someone who likes quiet, I actually went there by myself for my birthday (in December) during a blizzard (I live super close by) and the food was excellent (I had the 3 courses, plus getting chocolate covered strawberries free for my birthday and got enough leftovers to get 2 more meals out of ) and the service was excellent and I had the place to myself!!!
The one and only time after that I tried to eat there, was with friends, it was super busy, and it was so loud, which didn't help that our table next to us, had 5 young children running around unsupervised. The noise was enough to give me a migraine, so I left.
I expect this to be a busy and noisy place, that kids can be welcomed to. I think for the expense, we had been there awhile before we got service and I can't believe I was the only one in my party who was so affected, but I wasn't about to pay for a dinner that I couldn't have had a prayer eating, so my lil migraine self left before my party ordered.
I don't think kids obviously should be banned, but because for some people, it's a special occasion place, people could use more discretion, on supervising young children who could potentially ruin other people's meals, especially for how close in proximity they were seated.
I am their girl though, should they have a promotion during a blizzard, again.. ;)
Quentin Smith
The melting pot was definitely a good experience! The server was great and the food was very delicious. It is quite spendy and the menu practically makes you get the 4 course meal but for a once a year, or just a one time celebration it is definitely worth it to experience.
James Sorensen
The way this place works makes the meal an experience! Its something to be seen with your own eyes.
Very large menu, just about anything that walks, flys, swims or grows can be fondue'd at the melting pot.
Very enjoyable meal, personable staff and overall great experience.
Highly recommended for large groups where you can all get different things to share.
Cdab 10
Loved this place , the vibe the ambiance etc complete package . Pricey but worth it they have some unique drinks and different fondues looking to try them all over time. Service was good as well . Parking sucks had to park a block or 2 away.
Matthew Wagner
I believe the waiters name was Schaefer and he was GLORIOUSLY AWESOME!!! He knew the business at hand and what to do and how to answer. There were no uhhhh's or ummmm's or even a maybe. It was quote refreshing to get him. He had no problem explaining what we could change out in our orders and what we could substitute for it to make better. The food was simply amazing. Steak was tender
Salads were crispy.
Drinks were cold
Dessert was a chocolatey goodness.
4 courses does not look like alot, but man was I WRONG!!! I left completely stuffed. Needless to say, the waiter got himself a great tip and I very seldom tip. I will be going back and next time I will be taking more time. BEcause 2 hours just isn't enough time to relax and enjoy it all.
Darin Jensen
Always a great place for a long and tasty meal. If you go, plan time to relax and enjoy. And The Minneapolis cocktail was delicious. Served with a cherry on a chocolate spoon!
Nicole Bear
The artichoke cheese fondue was really good. The beer cheese one was a bit to beer tasting for me. It’s weird to me to have to cook your own dinner at a place like this, but it works. The food was good.
Jeff Klock
The Melting Pot never disappoints. Delicious fondue.... cheese, entree and chocolate desert. Plus house salad is awesome. Thanks for another great and unique experience!!!
Todd Stratman
First time and overall good but more than likely won't be back. Our w as inter seemed to be lost throughout the entire meal. Wrong drinks, forgot the salad and didn't seem to be attentive at all. The food was ok, nothing special.
Luke Wiley
The food here is really good and there's A LOT of choices for each course. Great for kids too! The servers are all very nice and helpful.
Andrew Schmitt
Fondue done uniquely and with good recipes. Not too showy but also not boring. Teddy was friendly and got us everything we needed. Delicious everything.
Miss Holly Kay (ClarksonGirl)
This restaurant is AMAZING!! It’s worth the price!! Top notch servers who make a fondue dinner a great experience. Also very helpful in explaining the menu and how it works. Fun location downtown Minneapolis.
Tanya Boettcher
Awesome food, new experience. Mother's Day was a perfect day to try them for the first time. They had a special on the desserts after the meal for mother's, and it was ALL delicious!
Robert Kippen
Very nice place and a fun way to cook and eat your food.
Lucy Wamsley
Second time coming and we had a wonderful time! Delicious and a really fun. Waiter was on top of everything and had an awesome attitude. Thank you Melting Pot!
RKFilms
The venue puts a lot of work into seeming fancy to justify high menu prices, but the food most often underwhelmes with most of their cheese mixes tasting like little more than the alcohol they are based on.
Shahbaz Shah
We came, we saw, we conquered the flaming turtle for dessert.
Good drinks here. Would have been a five but the waitress had to come back to verify the order and then forgot to bring our water.
Nice view though.
Thanks Melting Pot!
G. Luke Sarnicki
James our waiter was awesome. Food was good but extemely overpriced for what you get. For $50 + a plate I expected to leave full. Also we made a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes to get a table.
Stacy Schlieman
The smell of the raw meat wasn't good. For the price you pay and you have to cook your own meal is costly. I'm sure some people enjoy this but I will pass on coming back.
Maya Mason
The Melting Pot is always a special experience and this last time was no exception. The food was excellent per usual. I greatly enjoyed our server.
Peter Senarighi
My second time here... The last time was in May 2017; I see they did a few changes to simplify the menu. Great job, it made ordering so much easier. The food was amazing.
Alex Rose
This is the best fondue chain by far. I've had better fondue in places like Chicago at Geja's Cafe, but this is good too.
The meat is good quality and there are soooo many sauces. That's the main draw of fondue for me. Check it out when there's a $40 Groupon for two people!
Cody Carlson
Food was mediocre at best...it was under whelming. A lot if money for what you get. I would much rather have someone prepare food for me and spend half as much. the whole experience was ok at best. We only went because of the living social deal. We won't go back. We will go to cheese cake factory instead.
Angela Munoz
The experience is great per usual, but for the price I anticipated a more attentive server. My water cup, for example, was empty twice and didn't get refilled until I asked. Just not what I'd expect from that caliber.
Peter Benton
Was our first visit. Not really sure what to expect but our server James was very professional patient and very helpful he guided us to the perfect meal.the melting pot should be very proud and thankful to have such an employee working for them
Mary Hanson
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant!! I’ve had dinner several times and always have excellent service. The shrimp and lobster is my favorite. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone, it’s simply awesome!! It’s pricey, but worth it!!

The presentation at Melting Pot is its saving grace - all very well done. But the experience and the quality of food can be matched for a much smaller price tag at a standard Chinese hot pot restaurant. You won't get as many sauce choices, but you'll get plenty of food and less pain in your wallet.

Another wonder birthday experience brought a new person she love it food service outstanding job thank u

The servers are great but the manager and front of house sit around and stare at you while walking out.
Brant Egertson
We had a very nice time. Our server was very helpful and had great tableside manners. Not out first choice for restaurant but we would probably go back at some point
Dan Bielski
Unbelievably delicious and such a fun interactive eating experience. Come hungry because you will leave extremely full!

It is what it is. . Fondue. . Yes you could do this at home but the service is great and they have so many tasty options for cooking it. . Have been here before and will always come back. Plan on a good 1 to 2 hours to eat if you go with the 4 course meal.
Patrick Dietz
Excellent food and dining atmosphere. The waitress was absolutely great. Definitely would recommend.

Can't go wrong with melted cheese and chocolate.
Entrees are great too.
Be prepared to spend a good 2 hours doing your meal.
Great place to go with a group and try multiple options

This is a great place to go for a special occasion. They make sure to make your time there a great experience. Just note it can be a little expensive but it is worth it
Christopher Hall
Excellent food and even better waitstaff. Accommodated our large group easily and served us with charm. Cannot recommend more highly.
Megan Bignell
I HIGHLY recommend this place, from appetizer to dessert I loved every bit and it's so much fun! The flaming turtle is the best dessert dip! I request to go here from my honey any chance I get!
Jacob Berg
First time going here and the experience was amazing! Our server was very nice and the food was delicious.
Brittney Collins
The Melting Pot is always a wonderful experience! The atmosphere is inviting, the food is delicious, and they honestly have the friendliest staff ever. I can't wait to dine here again!
Billy Haas
It was an amazing time! Our server was fun, witty and patient since the whole group of us were first timers. I never expected to be so full! So many laughs and great memories.
Carley Lynch

I love it here. The staff is really nice and they are considerate if it's your first time and will help you through everything. This place is perfect for a more fancy date night or birthdays!
Sue Thurber
Food was delicious! Great place for a girls night out. Our waiter David was attentive & took care of us. Will definately go back!

Pretty good place, we went there not knowing what to expect. The food was great, but I personally wasn't that big of a fan of frying it myself as I was clumsy and had bits pop out and burn me.

Been here several times. Always great food. Had a larger group and private room most recently. Attentive staff. Comfortable, quiet environment in the private space.
Mike R
Excellent service and food. They did an awesome job with the rose petals and picture for my wife's birthday last night. We will definitely be back again!
Matt Reibsamen
The food is good, but the best part is the social experience of your dining with companions. Whether it is 2 or 10 in your group it is something you will always remember.
Heather Anderson
Great service and delicious food!
Danelle Moyte
You would think paying $200 for a meal would include great customer service, however I was not satisfied. We had three different servers at our table and nothing consistent or personal
Mason Terry
Always a great place to go for a nice night out. Only complaint this time was many of the pieces of meat I had we're very gristly, but this is they only time I've had that and wouldn't stop me from your m going again.

Before I decided to come here, looked up reviews for this place. I found a video on YouTube and the video was like a 5 minute commercial on how kids will love this place because of the interaction and that people will stop using their electronics to eat here.
Well, I don't know about other people but the food took kinda long to actually prepare and cook that I was constantly on my phone.
Amir Barnhill
, enjoyed the food and had a great time here with my mother.
thank you to logan for the great service someone please give this man a raise
J Maloney
Great experience! During Holidays (like Valentine's Day) they only offer one dining option, so make sure you're prepared for all the food and the cost.
Marcus Elder
I think it is wildly overpriced but I don't have any specific complaints. I just don't enjoy the food and I don't understand why it is expensive. The staff was courteous, kind, and helpful when I was there.
Raymond Monson
Great atmosphere. Come ready to eat and be full. If you have 2 hrs of free time and want to enjoy your food, this is the place
Brynn Dallmann
Service was pretty terrible which was a let down. It took us over 20 minutes for our server to come by after being seated by the host. Food was of expected quality.
stacia lindholm
My #1 favorite place to eat downtown. Love the experience, my ADD is satisfied with a bite or 2 of all kinds of little things! Just went there on the keto diet and was so satisfied! Spinach artichoke fondue, dunked cauliflower, broccoli, carrot into cheese (loaded each bite up with cz) and cooked up some tenderloin and shrimp in the Mojo cooking style. I skipped the chocolate because I made chocolate covered strawberries with Lilys stevia dark chocolate chips the night before and had a bunch left over. But their chocolate fondue is bangin'!

I went to the Melting Pot with four friends for Restaurant Week 2008. We all had a very good experience and enjoyed all of the food. All in all, however, it was a little pricey and I probably won't go back.
First we started with an appetizer--cheese in the pots and bread, apples, and veggies to dip. The cheese was a mixture of wine, shallots, scallions, orange cheese (Cheddar?), and blue cheese. It was delicious.
Next, we got our entrée--two different kinds of bases in the pots. We got the mojo (Caribbean) and the coq au vin--both which cost extra even though we were not informed they were. In our pots we had lots of fresh vegetables (mushrooms, broccoli, summer squash, and red potatoes) to cook and plates of fresh meats (steak, chicken, and shrimp) to skewer and cook in our pots. Along with that, we got six different sauces--curry, teriyaki, plum ginger, gorgonzola, green goddess, and horseradish cocktail. They were all very tasty.
Finally, we got desert. We decided to go with the cookies n cream (dark chocolate) and the smores (milk chocolate). They were both good but the cookies n cream was a bigger hit. To dip we received marshmallows, pound cake, strawberries, bananas, pineapple, cheesecake, and brownies. Everything was very tasty.
All in all, it was very delicious and filling and I would definitely go back if I had a lot of money to blow--it was just too expensive.

I absolutely love the restaurant experience! The staff was friendly and professional. A must try restaurants for all couples or groups
Chad Casper
Great date night or just a relaxing slow paced dinner. Save room for dessert!
Ted Anderson
Definitely a perfect place if having a conversation starter is helpful. Found the menu options quite confusing and in general it's very expensive, but I'd compare it to something like a benihana where you're paying more for an experience.
Josh Emond
Overall the food is good becuase you are in the mood for fondue.
M Skattum
Food was ok, service ok. Another thing - Anyone have any strange charges to their credit card shortly after dining at the Melting Pot? Had several from ccbill.com - any funny thing is this was the only place I had used card for the past week or so. Just curious if any similar experience.
Andra St. Arnauld
The food was delicious. The Covid protocols were strict and the staff very friendly.
Juan Lanzagorta
Awesome food! I love the beer and cheddar fondue and the Coq au vin for the main dish with the regular meats. Nothing to say of the chocolate fondue, just miss when the cheesecake was included in the regular dippings.
