Cute quaint restaurant that appears to be well liked! Staff was friendly from being greeted at the door and quickly by the bartender as we sat down. My hand shaken spicy margarita was very delicious but small in size for the price. We order a half order of nachos and a burger to share which was plenty of food for two! Beef on nachos had good taste, chips were freshly made and crispy and the salsa had a smoked taste and delicious! Burger had a bakery fresh bun, overall pretty tasty, and hot and fries crispy. I would definitely go back!

Came here for the first time last week and my experience was great. The wait was relatively short and the host was extremely friendly. For food, I order an order of blueberry pancakes and French Toast. The French toast was soooo delicious but the blueberry pancake was okay. The blueberries didn’t taste that good. However our waiter was amazing. Supeeeeer friendly and kind. Just overall amazing. Literally the best service I’ve ever received from a waiter. I would definitely return again!

I visited the Lowbrow for the second time on Saturday. The first time I went for dinner and ordered the pulled pork sandwich on a GF bun. It was alright! The bun fell apart really easily but that is to be expected with gluten free bread. On Saturday I called in the morning to make a reservation and was able to do so with no problem. I would highly recommend making a reservation as it was very busy! My meal was pretty yummy, although it's not super difficult to make a good brunch! I'm interested in trying out their date night meal! I was expecting the Wisconsin Hashers to be something different than the regular hashbrowns but the only difference I noted was the addition of cheese.

It was okay, not much flavor and kinda bland. The fire burger didn't have much kick and the mushroom and Swiss burger didn't leave me wanting more. But the Georgia peach tea was the biggest let down. Been to Georgia and that's not it. The place was cute tho and staff was super friendly. If I ever went again I think I would just go for drinks.

Ever since moving to the “west side” of MPLS we have been trying to find a burger joint equivalent to Busters on 28th, the Howe, and the cardinal. Wowza— I think we found it! The burgers were full and cooked to our preferences and the fries were fantastic. Yumm! We ordered take out only because we had early work the next day and didn’t want to get out of our sweat pants. But cannot wait to go back and enjoy their variety of tap beers, cocktails, and fresh foods! So glad we are in biking distance.

Tried the blueberry pancakes and the chorizo breakfast tacos, everything was perfect! Scrambled eggs in the tacos were not dry and they didn’t skimp on the guac, which I appreciated Update: returned and got the pastrami Reuben, delicious as well!

We are newer to living in Minneapolis and are always looking for new brunch spots. The Lowbrow exceeded expectations with service, atmosphere, food, and drinks! What a hidden gem! Dominic was our server and couldn't have been more perfect! The lady at the hostess stand was so kind as well. We hope to be regulars and hope to always be seated in Dominic's section!

Breakfast was okay. A little on the expensive side, I think the coffee was $4. Staff were all really friendly and I appreciated the gluten free options. We shared a breakfast sandwich and hash browns.

We stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed the Lowbrow. Plenty of outdoor seating and reasonable space inside. I had the grilled cheese with bacon as something different and it did not disappoint. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich and she really like it. We’ll be back again soon.

I had an appointment near the low brow that I was early for So I decided to go in for a light meal. The waiter named Dominic was SUPER sweet and extremely personable we had a nice little conversation which I have not experienced from a server a long time. Menu- they have deviled eggs as appetizers!!! I've never seen a restaurant with these on their menu. I got the deviled eggs and the green salad with chicken. The chicken on the salad was still warm and seasoned very nicely with a bit of vinaigrette. I stuck to a healthier meal, but around me the others guests deep-fried goodness looked delicious.

First time here. We were there for brunch for my dad's birthday and everyone loved the food: from my vegan uncle and aunt, my meat and potatoes dad, and even my picky kids. Awesome! Also seriously, I think the server was one of the best servers I've ever had. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name but the woman working brunch on Saturday 12/3 wearing a stocking cap, you were fantastic. Polite and happy without seemingly fake, attended to our every need without hovering, and seemed to love her job. Even when we requested another pancake after our food had arrived, she said it was no problem and got it out fast (thanks to the kitchen staff for that too!). Fantastic experience. We will be back for sure.

I'm rarely impressed with restaurants, but this place exceeded my expectation. The food was fresh and made from what clearly was high quality ingredients. The menu offered comfort food and healthy options too. The service was friendly and prompt. The prices were better than what I expected (and I also liked that this restaurant actually charged their true menu prices as opposed to many other restaurants that try to sneakily add extra to your bill). Overall, this place is very well done. The only drawback is that there is only on street parking (although it is free), which can be somewhat difficult to find during busy times.

Our waiter, Dominic, is a real gem. My husband loves to kid around with his waiters and waitresses. Dominic gave it right back to him, fast and furious. We really enjoyed him as did our daughter who has had him for a waiter in the past. She said he's always at his best. The food was great tasting and the prices were reasonable. Definitely going back when we get back to the area.

Lowbrow has been one of our standbys for years. The food is so delicious and mostly homemade. The nachos are the best in the Twin Cities and I crave them constantly! The staff is always awesome and they have a great beer selection, plus cocktails now as well. Consistently great food!

The hamburgers my husband and I had were delicious. However, the kids weren't fans of the parmesan cheese on their buttered noodles. We'll know to ask for no parmesan next time. The atmosphere was a typical pub feeling. However, the doors were open and most people left their coats on because it was so chilly inside.

So much yum. The pulled pork was as good as anything they serve down south with a spicy flair. I don't tend to enjoy coleslaw but I actually wish there was a bigger bowl of this stuff. The Pimms drink was dangerous. So tasty. Service was awesome.

Really nice waiter, courteous, kind and took time with my talkative son. Their blueberry lemonade was very refreshing! We had the nachos, bacon BBQ burger, the pesto Walnut and mozzarella gluten free sandwich with salad and my son had their children's cheeseburger with gluten free bun and fries. Everyone was happy. Nachos we're great, cheesey, with jalapenos, sour cream, awesome salsa and guacamole. My husband and son both loved those burgers. Meat was of good quality and flavor. Bacon was nice and thick. Buns we're very good! My vegetarian gluten free pesto, motz and tomato sandwich was gooey and delish! With the side salad which was nicely tossed in a lite oil / vinegar dressing.

Wonderful staff, food is next level. Environment is very dapper and classy! The sake bloody mary has some bite with their house mix, not crazy spicy, but be warned ; ) Will be back to try more of the menu! They do keep updating it and adding new amazing creations!

This is my favorite place to get brunch! They have a wide selection of sweet and salty items. I ordered one chocolate chip pancake and one raspberry pancake. It was very good! We got there around 10 on a Sunday morning and we didn't have to wait. It is a smaller place so it does fill up fast and there could be a wait. Service was wonderful. I really don't have anything negative to say. Please check this place out!

New review (four stars): the food is awesome but the service is consistently disappointing. Long wait times to be greeted, servers seem too busy and are curt and not particularly attuned to customers. There are two who are better but they often seem to have too many tables to provide good service. We come here often, tip 20%, and have never once been recognized by any staff which is just kind of funny for a “neighborhood” place. How often do we need to come to be remembered?? Lol Old review (five stars): The Lowbrow has been one of my favorite things to make quarantine weekend nights feel special. The nachos are great, and my family loves the burgers. They also have reeeeally good fries, which can sometimes be hard to find! The staff has always been prompt and attentive when we dine in, and they have a smooth take out process as well!

I'm not a food critique but we got the pulled pork and the spicy burger (can't remember what it was called) they were both alright. However, the pulled pork was pretty dry and not seasoned enough. Service was great and staff was friendly. Drinks were just alright as well.

One of the best things about the Twin Cities is getting recommendations by word of mouth. I came after hearing about Lowbrow, and I am so glad I did. Without the recommendation, I doubt I would have ever stopped in (the outside of the building is very unassuming but inside is fun and cozy). The food was so fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed their coffee, which paired nicely with their rhubarb coffee cake. Best of all, everyone was extremely friendly and made me feel welcome on my first visit. Definitely coming back for more Sunday brunch.

Went there today, I was in the area with my buddy and the food was awesome!!! Great prices, friendly staff and a great atmosphere! I get my burger well done and it was juicy and delicious! Fast accurate service. Flavorful food at an affordable price. Great menu selection and great service. Attentive wait staff, full bar (coming soon), and clean! Great service, good beer selection, and delicious food! The burgers were so good, and they actually cook it to the temp you ask for! The fries were thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt. We had their signature chocolate cake dessert, and it was amazing! Will definitely be coming back!

Great night out with good friends and good food. Started out with fried pickles,they are magical. My wife had the pesto melt with salad and I had a BBQ burger with fries. We actually split the sides so we each get salad and some fries. So tasty and it is nice that they take reservations and will take walk-ins too .

This restaurant is completely amazing. Everything they serve is delicious and healthy home made. Their French fries are to die for. Their breakfast is delicious and was offered during lunch hours on the Saturday that we visited. The paintings on the wall are so cute and fun. Nice windows let in light for the entire restaurant, such a gem!

If you like burgers this is the place to be. Both the highbrow and royal jam burger are delicious with fun flavor pairings. Some friends of mine are regulars here and like to take me along on occasion. It is their go to place for good burgers. They have a good selection of tap beers, including getting some special ones in on occasion.

We began frequenting The Lowbrow almost weekly during the COVID-pandemic. Especially on Tuesday nights (6-10pm) where you can get 2-drinks, 2-dinners, and 1-dessert for only $40. The Lowbrow, Highbrow, and Royal Jam being three of our favorite burgers. The homemade fish sticks and the daily pasta special are also something to always check out. Make sure you save room for dessert as some of the featured pies and pastries are some of the best in the neighborhood.

I absolutely LOVE the Lowbrow! We recently got take out for dinner and had lunch in restaurant. The atmosphere is fun, the beer and drink selection is great, and I've never ordered any food from there that wasn't incredibly tasty. Very vegetarian friendly dishes, also.

Very busy, not alot of seating there. But it's an amazing spot for a good beer on tap and burger as well. Highly suggest the burger of the month for March. Staff was friendly as well. Bathrooms were clean and regularly up kept too. So it's with good reason that they are busy.

Been going here regularly for years. Amazing burgers made to order. I recommend trying the rotating soups, they are always fantastic. The greens they use in the salads are wonderful. Great beer selection and good cocktails, also excellent coffee and lemonade. I don't know if they still have the nachos but they were fantastic and amazing value, the homemade tortilla chips are great. The fries aren't the greatest but are above average. The vegetarian and vegan options are expanding, they just got impossible patties as well. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is accommodating with additions and substitutions. The restaurant is cozy and has a variety of seating types (booth, low, high, bar) and has both indoor and outdoor seating.

Fun, friendly, casual environment. Above average contemporary pub fare. Everything we tried was tasty and comforting. Fries pickles were crispy. Fried Tofu was an excellent BBQ sauce delivery tool. Firebreather Burger was a good burger, but much like the apps, it didnt really wow me. If I was drinking this place would have been perf. I could see myself goin hamb on some nachos :)

This place is great! Very affordable and very friendly staff! Their oatmeal cream pie is AMAZING!!! They literally are sold out every time I go there. I’m moving at the end of the month and they went out of their way to help me get some before I moved. They took my number and called me when they had more!! I loaded up as you can see and I couldn’t wait to take a bite (or two) before I took the pic 😅 I’ll be sad to be leaving the neighborhood!

The food here is very good and they are great with making changes to menu items to meet your needs. The kitchen also works pretty quickly for a restaurant that is always busy. The wait times are never terrible and they keep things moving. The place is also very kid friendly while still having bar seating available. I love their burgers and chocolate cake. That is my order every time. Everyone is so friendly.

Great burgers and chicken salad. The nachos were not good. A blob of cheese nachos without hamburger or scallions, blah salsa. The chocolate stout cake is to die for. The cherry pie is delicious. It's fun to sit outside weather permitting. Nice staff. Good atmosphere.

Had lunch Friday Oct 22. Great food, good selection. Hostess was very friendly and pleasant. Best waiter ever, sorry forgot his name. We were from out of town visiting with locals, sat and talked for 2 hours staff were attentive that whole time, assuring us we weren’t interfering. Best dining experience in a long time.

Really great food. We ordered for takeout and loved everything. We got a whole order of nachos and while it was amazing I think it would be incomparable if we had eaten them hot and fresh at the restaurant. Ok, so here's the real....I think this is the best burger in town. I said it. The fries are also perfectly crisp & salty. On my last visit, I ordered the fire breather & it was delicious. We also started with the nachos & inhaled them. The service is always friendly & they know regulars names. Great spot!

I love this place. Amazing burgers (always ask about the BotM), delicious salads, great beer and cider selection. They have in door dining, patio out front, and effortless take out. Their deserts are always on point so always save some room. Tonight they had a salted caramel banana cake with cream cheese frosting. Oh. My. Gosh. Highly recommend checking them out.

I've only had takeout dinner from The Lowbrow so far, but I am already excited to eat there again. The burgers are INCREDIBLE - we got The Royal Jam and The Fire Breather, and both far exceeded our expectations, especially the patty itself. Great fries, honestly great side salads, and all-around good experience!

I first went here in the depths of COVID and was very impressed with both the food and COVID safety. I went earlier this week and was still impressed. Good burger-y food for a good price. Creative dishes. At my most recent visit, the jalapeno poppers were way better and fresher than I expected. The burger with the fig-bacon jam and brie-like cheese was much better than the pulled pork sandwich. Definitely my neighborhood go-to.

This place is great! Excellent service, and excellent food. When they say real jalapeño poppers - they mean it! Real, good poppers are next to extinct from the modern eateries, I think most restaurants just use cheap frozen-to-microwave poppers, and it's obvious. I'll be back here, probably sooner rather than later.

We ordered to go many times since covid started but we were finally able to come in and enjoy the atmosphere and the staff is always awesome! Went here to catch up with a friend. Couldn't believe how busy it was for a Monday night, so you know it's good. Ordered a burger and it was fantastic. The fries are a little on the soggy/soft side for my personal taste, but they weren't bad. Our server was very good; friendly and knowledgeable. Came here on a Friday night. We waited about 20 min which is not bad at all considering most places in the city you'd wait an hour if you did not have a reservation. The drink menu is awesome, the staff is excellent, and the food is to die for. It's awesome that they are able to a vegetarian diet, something that is typically unheard of for a places that specializes in burgers. We started with the fried pickles which were really tasty. I ordered the pesto melt and my boyfriend got the veggie burger. Both were outstanding dishes. The veggie burger was one of the best I've ever tried, and I've tried many. The quality of food is really good and you can't beat the prices. This place is seriously all around as close to perfection as you can find. We will definitely be back for brunch and I will be sharing with everyone I know to come here.

Awesome spot. Typically I'm there with a large group from my community concert band but they're always very accommodating. Little bummed they got rid of their date night but their happy hour specials are still great. Always great beers on tap and their Burger of The Month has never disappointed.

Great atmosphere, excellent service and consistently delicious food! They accommodated our party of 14 seamlessly at 5 pm. No one was kept waiting too long for their dinner, no one felt rushed to leave, even with groups at the door waiting to be seated (we didn't linger too long because we know what that's like). Burgers are always outstanding, I had the fish tacos and one vegan grandchild had the fried tofu sandwich. Salads all got high marks from our crowd too. The desserts are all made in house and were all delicious, especially the key lime pie and the chocolate cream pie! We'll keep returning to Low Brow ..the value is hard to beat.. the staff is always courteous, the food delicious and the prices very reasonable!

They're pretty good. It was super cold in the dining room, like I almost took a star for it. I got a chicken sandwich, it contained a huge piece of chicken, but otherwise tasted kind of generic. My companion had a burger which they enjoyed and stated their thousand island was good. We ordered their nachos which were outstanding, and why I did not dock a star for the dining room being sub arctic.

Hadn't been in a while and it's way better than I remembered. Service was great. Fried pickle chips were perfect. Chicken with mozzarella sandwich was excellent from the first bite to the last. I don't know the last time I had a grilled chicken sandwich with such a perfectly cooked piece of chicken. They even use Prairie Breeze cheddar-- literally the best cheese on the planet--in their market salad. We'll definitely go back again sooner this time.

Cute little diner with full bar and GREAT food. I got the Highbrow burger, it was amazing, even my side salad was delicious. My son loves it here. Eats here at least twice a week. Our meals were good, just not my favorite foods. I wanted a burger and a beer but the closest we could get until 3pm was bacon and memosa. Our wait person was amazingly attentive, restaurant was clean. Tables on the front walkway with umbrellas and dog friendly. So my suggestion is give this restaurant a try!

The happy hour nachos are a deal and delicious (2-5pm M-F). Get them with pulled pork and guacamole. The Americana burger is delightful and is also offered as a vegan item. Ask for the 50/50 fries and salad option for your side. If they have coconut cream pie when you visit, order a slice, even if you take it to go. The beer list is relatively small but expanded recently, so they have an option for most palates ranging from pilsners to stouts. Lowbrow's got a cozy, laid back neighborhood vibe.

We went here for Fathers day brunch just yesterday and the food was pretty decent! There were a lot of other things I really wanted to try on the menu still! I truly enjoy coming to this spot for brunch. They don't have an overly huge menu, and I wish they had a tiny bit more to offer in the sweet breakfast department, but it's affordable and the waiter we had was very attentive to our needs. I'm a bit biased because this is over of the easier places to walk to in my neighborhood, but I've been here 4 or 5 times and each time it's been great. Brunch and dinner menus are both solid, with plenty of options for anyone in the group. Beer list isn't huge but it's got many great local options on tap, plus other stuff in bottles/cans. I've seen fairly long wait times here more often than not, so it's a popular spot at all the times you would think it would be. Not a great place for a large (over 4) group of people. Bar usually has a chair open but it's a busy spot all around.

This place does it all in the right way, and has great atmosphere. We come with the kids, and even when my autistic son flips out, the atmosphere is loud enough and the staff's loving attitudes keep it from being a scene. At the same time, it isn't too loud to be overwhelming for my son--an excellent balance. The food is tasty, real, and the prices reasonable. One of my favorites, I've never had a bad experience.

I was hoping for a burger @11:00am on a Saturday but they don't do that until 2:00. That said, the breakfast was good. Eggs, toast and bacon sounds pretty pedestrian until they bring it out. Everything was super delicious and excellent quality. Thick bacon, awesome herb roasted potatoes and tasty sourdough toast. Service was friendly and prices were fine. I recommend.

My favorite burger spot in town! I had the firebreather burger last night with the French fries..OMG..MOUTHWATERING...it's sooo good!! It was done perfectly (I ordered it medium). Took a friend there for his birthday today and we were so impressed. We both had the Americana Burger with Fries. WOW! A sign on the wall said they were voted "best fries in the Twin Cities" and I totally agree. Normally I will eat just a handful of fries but I cleaned my plate today. Because we were celebrating a birthday, we had dessert. He had Coconut Cream Pie and I had the Chocolate Stout Cake. Yummy!! The Chocolate cake looked like it would be heavy but it was so moist an light. I'd highly recommend The Lowbrow! I'll be going back.

I made the mistake of thinking I need the full portion of nachos, it is a mountain and a fairly large plate. It was good. Everything around that other people had looked delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly. We went on like a Tuesday night and had to wait to sit. So beware it's probably always busy.

The Lowbrow does an awesome job with just about everything. The music is hip, the decor looks good, and their burgers always hit the spot. For the uptown area, this is my favorite place to grab a burger and a beer. If you're a nacho fiend you should try ordering their happy hour nachos. After trying most of the restaurants in the area, I think the Lowbrow's in-house chips and good ingredients make the best nachos in the Twin Cities. It costs about half the price of a normal burger during happy hour too.

This is a good place to grab some comfort food, and if you're vegan or vegetarian there's a few options to choose from. I got the vegetarian burger and while the texture was nice, the taste left me wanting something. The side salad looked to have been left out for a long while, since it was room temperature and had lost it's crunch. The server was great, super friendly to my boisterous and witty brother.. it's a talent to be able to handle everything he throws at ya. She also recommended a great beer after asking me a few questions of what I like. The aptmosphere was fun and modern. I loved the color scheme!

Been coming here for a few years. Always good burgers and food. Tasty desserts. Nice beer and wine selection. Great fries. Really good fish sticks. Breakfast tacos are GOOD. A couple spots good for groups of 6-8. Some booths too for dates. Ok for kids. Had one mix up one time and they fixed it no problem. Brunch menu runs late on the weekends. Outdoor seats are nice. It gets packed around dinner time since it's right in a neighborhood. Street parking can be tight so get ready to walk. It's a busy street so be careful. Still coming here a few years later. It's still amazing. The service is always timed right. Even when the line is out the door everyone is still fun. Try the special burger or salad and get some whipped cream on your crisp.

The Lowbrow has been in our regular rotation for years because the staff is always friendly, everyone can find something they like on the menu, it is reasonably priced and it's in the neighborhood. The jalapeno hash and the fire breather chicken sandwich are my go to dishes. Very solid choice for comfort food.

They claim to be very GF friendly, but their French fries are fried with breaded items and they won't let you substitute in their GF beer on date night for the drink (I would have been willing to pay extra just to have the ability to have a beer I could drink, but I was told it wasnt possible). The food was pretty good, but i was disappointed about how inflexible they were about their GF items for their date night special. The GF dessert was very tasty.

Everything on the menu is flawless, from the southern fried tofu to the Lowbrow Reuben to the bison chili. A blind dart toss at the menu is going to get you a tasty, satisfying meal. It can get a wee bit cramped in the dining room, but that just serves as a testament to the quality of the grub they're serving up.

I come here a lot, and the food is great! It is usually pretty easy to get a table, and the staff is typically pretty good. I would recommend the nachos with pulled pork, the Elvis, or the fried egg sandwich! Only down side is that the sides don't come with all of the meals. Although, the food is pretty cheap, so it evens out.

Fun interior, easy going atmosphere and friendly service. The food was delicious. The royal jam burger is a solid option. If you're a fan of bbq and bacon burgers you're gonna want to eat here. The burger is great tasting AND the bbq is appropriately added as in it's not spilling out when you take a bite (this is my biggest beef with every other bbq based burger is its slopped with bbq and is a disaster). The jalepeno poppers are the real deal. Bloody mary is also very good. Seeds and all. Great heat and large amount of food for the price. The Saturday brunch is from 11-2:30pm. I recommend the truck stop breakfast sandwich and some Wisconsin cheese hash for brunch. The burgers are all fantastic. They can actually cook medium/medium-rare. Great area. The restaurant used to be a Clark Station back in the day. Took my dad who worked there in the 1970s. It's a fantastic place to enjoy a cold one.

While the service at The Lowbrow was above par, and the food very satisfying and delicious with exceptional presentation, the surroundings are quite spartan, which can make a dining experience slightly less than comfortable. It felt like an inadvertent 'family style' environment, which is just fine if one is at a picnic, but not so much here. The pricing seemed very poor, as while again the food was excellent and served very well, the bill for two 'cans' of wine and roughly 7 pieces of fried chicken came to just under $100 before tip. If I take us back there, I may try the chicken sandwich and a glass of tea so that I don't walk out with empty pockets.

The Lowbrow is a great neighborhood restaurant that feels small town but tastes high class. As a vegan, I’m impressed that both the breakfast and all day options taste delicious and balanced, not like you’re an afterthought, or someone else’s meal with ingredients missing. My favorite item is the tofu sandwich. The tofu is marinated in a way that gives it deep notes. There are moments when a brunch rush means there’ll be a wait, but this friendly and comfortable place is worth it.

Its hard to say exactly what the smell is, but it smells like the litter box area in a cat owners house. If the place didn't smell terrible, id find a way to give The Lowbrow 6 stars.

4 stars because: The servers here are truly lovely and accommodating. We moved from a low top by the door to a high top in a different section and they didnt bat an eye. We also had a late joiner and were heading out quickly to get to a concert. We got out in time but never felt rushed. They have vegan options! (A couple i think?) Not 5 stars because: While the tofu sammy was ver good, it needs more sauce! A vegan mayo or something?? Thank you for having vegan options! 🌱🌱🌱
