Reviews of The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar
Ethan Gorton
Lovely experience! My first time there, let alone with my anxious chubby chocolate lab on the patio. I was informed (kindly!) that I should in the future check-in with staff inside before going to the patio (makes sense to me! I just didn't see that specified online). Amazing drink selection, GF, veg & vegan choices, and food for your dog! My Duck loved the chicken one.
Sabrina K
Loved! The tostones were amazing and the burger was really good! They had a nice liquor selection and the service was quick especially on a busy evening. No reservations but were able to sit at the bar and received great service.

Looked for a dog friendly place as we had our Chihuahua with us... hard to find the n the middle of winter in Minneapolis! Happily the Howe has an outdoor heated tent for just this purpose. Menu had a good number of Vegan options. Brussel Sprout and Mexican Corn Skillet were great... Vegan Nachos too. Only issue I could mention were the chips were kind of meh. Other than that, excellent experience and we'll be back!

I had an awesome dinner here. Our server Xavier was spot on and quick af with taking orders. Mocktails and beer were super refreshing. The burgers we got were delicious. The patio was great, the acoustics were good. Dogs are allowed on the patio, which is always a plus. Great value visit on Mondays. It can get busy, so be wary, but we didn't think the service slowed at all. Plenty of bike spots and there seemed to be a lot of car parking in the back. We started to get some flies by the end of the night, which may be due to the muggy weather, so be ready for that.

Easy parking. Wonderful morning greeting. Quick service. Awesome food. That about sums it up. If you like simple, go for the classic breakfast. If you’re in the mood for some sweet and savory, definitely get the pacos (breakfast tacos with a pancake shell)! Genius!
Nicholas Willette
Overall a nice place!
Love the outdoor seating and the indoor looks nice as well!
Service was very good and we got our order and food very quickly!
IMO the food here was not my cup of tea. But others at my table liked it.
The curry was alright but there was not much sauce making it more of a coating on the vegetables rather than.. a curry haha
The cheese curds were similar to state fair cheese curds. Overall pretty good
The kimchi chicken sandwich was pretty weird as the chicken used was very soft and "mushy" similar to canned chicken. But other than that I really liked the taste!
Didn't get any drinks but they definitely had some interesting looking ones do that would be a drawing point as well
Overall pretty decent, would recommend checking out.

Always a solid meal. I enjoyed samples of my pops chicken and coleslaw. The cream of mushroom soup was fresh with delicious mushrooms but just a little flat on the cream broth. Samosa wrap was flavorful and moist. The vegan ‘cake’ while tasty was like over priced brownies.
Brieana F
Vegan Juicy Lucy was SO GOOD!
Please bring back the Vegan Rueben!
Smothered in vegan 1000 island & vegan coleslaw was included as the side! It’s made with a beyond patty. There were quite a few vegan options on the menu & also many that were marked that could be made vegan! Gluten free options too!
I also got the vegan chocolate cake (free for my birthday!! 🎉 )
I’m sad they don’t have the Phoebe on the menu anymore -it was a vegan Rueben made with beets 🤤
Drinks are a bit pricey! I’d try to go during happy hour if possible!

Edit: we went back here recently, had a nice experience. Adding some more photos to the review.
We went there for a birthday celebration dinner. We ordered a Laughing Water cocktail to start us off. It was very refreshing and we liked it a lot. We the ordered the vegan nachos and the vegan jambalaya. Both were very well seasoned, spicy and full of flavor. They have plenty of other vegan/vegetarian options that we really wanted to try, we’ll definitely come back again to try them.
We didn’t bring our dog with us but we ordered take out for her (k-9 chicken and boxer bites )from their amazing dog menu. She absolutely loved it.
Justin Shircliff
My best friend lives in the area and brought me to this place for lunch. It was super solid. The fried cheese curds were excellent, the grilled cheese with brisket was good, and the chicken was juicy. Cool atmosphere too. Would like to come back for dinner and drinks. Stop by if you’re in the area.
Andrea Hannem
Weekend brunch! Perfect patios for the pups. Was slightly disappointed in the juevos rancheros this time, The chorizo was burnt, mush but they do a great job frying the tortilla, which adds crunch. The pacos were loved. Definitely enough food to split.
Kaela Sutherland
We come here for brunch & to watch the vikings game regularly and it’s always a good time. Food is amazing as well as the atmosphere. I get the breakfast sandwich, Can’t go wrong!
Phillip Nelson
Love this little neighborhood gem! They have excellent apps, I recommend the pretzel bites! (Depending on your taste, you may want to ask for them lightly salted). I love the beyond meat burger. You can’t go wrong with the fries or the onion rings as a side. We ate out on the patio and brought our dog. Super dog friendly! They brought over a mat, water bowl, and pup menu :) Love The Howe and will continue to frequent this place!
Paul Luoma
The bartender even in the weeds was ready for anything. B and G was delicious as usual. My PIC was impressed with the BBQ Benny.
Angelina Castano
1st time here, sat outside. Loved the atmosphere and if you have a dog they are treated to their own mat, water bowl and treat. Great tator tots and broasted chicken tenders. I had this yummy ahi tuna bowl.
HERE & THERE
Great find. Fun atmosphere and service.
Food was great. The wild rice soup was delicious! We will be back!
Mike W
A favorite place of ours. Today was the first time we tried the weekend brunch.
And it was very good. The photos show the brisket grilled cheese sandwich with caramelized onions! Wow!
Stacy Welle
I love that they have a pawtio so you can bring your dog. They even have a doggy menu! The prices are a bit more expensive in this menu than they are at their sister location in NE Mpls, but it's likely a location cost. The indoor area is super cute and warm feeling. I had the Vegan Philly sandwich, which may not look that great, but is so delicious! The fries are amazing as well. My daughter had the Chile Relleno and liked it, but would try something else next time.
Angela G.
Got seated right away. Fast and friendly service. Didn't expect the huge portions! Parking and dog friendly patio in the back.
Corey Butler
Nice, cozy atmosphere in the place. I wasn’t served right away after getting my table, but the server more than made up for it by giving me my cocktail for free. I got the old fashioned. Very good. My burger and fries came promptly after I ordered and were also excellent. Great service and a very satisfying dining experience.
Karly H (Exploring the lakes!)
There food and drinks were amazing!! They accommodated for our large group. Would love to go back.
Cam F Awesome
Vegan Philly Cheesesteak was amazing. So was the vegan nachos.
Ask for the buffalo chicken sandwich with BBQ instead of buffalo. It's so good too!
Alex Barrick
This place is always good! Great place to bring your dog, if you want to. My wife always gets the Pacos and it's probably her favorite brunch menu item in all of Mpls.
Tara Pereira
Went here for brunch and I’m still dreaming about the eggs Benedict. The spicy hollandaise sauce with the crispy chicken and perfectly poached egg... wow. No other eggs Benedict will ever live up to it. My friends got the breakfast burrito, which she said was really good, and the brisket grilled cheese, which he said was average. Their outdoor seating was nice and we all had mimosas to top it off. Can’t wait to go back.
Aryana Hainsworth
We order takeout from The Howe for lunch often. The order was checked and perfect. All of their burgers are fantastic but The Longfellow is my favourite. We also got nachos with brisket and the brisket is tender and flavorful. I tried the brussel sprouts for the first time too, what a treat! Service is always great at the pickup window. Thanks everyone :)
Brandy Churchill
A friend and I went by for late apps. The food and drinks were decent, and lots of options. The music was a little loud. The interior has some charming touches. The staff were efficient. Vegetarian friendly! If you get the yucca fries I recommend getting something besides just the sauce they come with since it's a little light in flavor (we got chipotle mayo).
Claire Paulus
I have eaten at the Howe several times, it is always great food and the nicest staff! This is the first time I have done there take out. It was nice they have a walk up window so you do not need to enter the restaurant! We had gotten a couple salads in our order and they put the the dressing on the side without me asking and separated the protein! NO soggy lettuce! It was also ready in 15 - 20 min! Highly recommend for dine in or takeout!
Nawni Nguyen
This place is so yummy. And you can't go wrong here. It's very nice. The vibe is great. I went here with a friend and we were able to talk a lot. The music was a bit louder on the inside. So we had to be a little bit louder. We also had amazing fries. We ate it all. The portions were perfect.
Shalini Saravanan
awesome food and great vegan options. Our server was super sweet and we got our food surprisingly fast. The fries were super good and crispy. The atmosphere was chill yet fun. Would def return
Lee Childers
Experienced a birthday party with 12 people in a small space and the host and servers made it feel like a gathering at home.
The food is amazing and everyone was served relatively at the same time which is remarkable service.
Even though the bill was split there were no mix ups and the evening was memorable. Definitely a place to go for a first date or to chill.
They are dog friendly too!!
Fig burger and blood of the unicorn!
Mic drop
Sarah Haley (Girard)
What's not to love? Amazing food (we order take out once/week), a large variety of (fun!) come beverages, a huge patio (that's dog-friendly), lots of parking (free & off-street), and an awesome, chill vibe. Honestly, I go there for weekend brunches with the gals, work brainstorms with my laptop, client happy hours and of course dinner with the hubby!
Sasha Mercedes
I had made a reservation for a group of 6 for Sunday brunch, which this place is known for. When we arrived they had just given our table to a walk-in group of 6 and the place was packed. I could feel my blood begin to boil... The host asked that we please wait one moment and he was able to do some rearranging and ended up presenting us with a great table. The food was terrific as always. I had biscuits and gravy, and a benedict. They also have lovely craft cocktails, bloody Marys, and a huge tap beer list. There is a big parking lot in back as well as lots of street parking. They can seat overflow out on their heated patio if you walk-in without a reservation. This is our new favorite local haunt!
Michael Krech
The food was good. It is super dog friendly which is what we wanted.
Evan B
Place is cool, food is nice, my friends love the trivia. We wanted to sit outside because patios and nice weather, but had I seen the patio (dressed up parking lot w/ tent and admittedly nice plants,) I would have elected to sit inside. Kinda on me, but still. The inside looked much nicer after a few mins on the "patio."
Phillip Smith
Food was good. Great atmosphere. Be ready for a crowd at dinner time though! Wait staff gets it done but is slow and makes mistakes
Had to ask a couple of times for my water. Not great on follow up drink requests.
Mark GS
Went for brunch. Had Eggs Benedict. The eggs were hard-boiled, not poached. The hash browns were cold. Small meal for the price charged. My husband's breakfast potatoes were mushy, not crisp on the outside. The other members of my party said their food was great. We'll go back just not for brunch.
Lindsay Wagoner
What I like most about the Howe is that they offer menu options to fit varying diets. They have gluten free, vegan, and low carb options in addition to more traditional offerings. I ordered the Thai Curry bowl w/shrimp and swapped the coconut rice for cauliflower rice. It had good flavor with a consistent heat and generous bites of juicy shrimp throughout. It could have used a sprinkling of sea salt but that's my personal preference. My partner ordered the beer battered fish and chips. He remarked that the batter was everything you look for; crispy, light, not greasy, with the fish flaky and tender.
We also ordered the jalapeno poppers,2 beers and a glass of wine. Our tab with 20% tip came in just under $100. I feel that is a bit pricey, but the service was also really good and they had many TVs covering March Madness games which my husband enjoyed.
Gregory Alm
The BEST thing about going to The Howe, is that the Menu is: Short and Simple. Unlike other restaurants, I didn't need to spend the entire day, studying the menu, and trying to decide on what to eat. Once I got my delicious food, I knew that I would be coming back! Great location, and plenty of parking too.
Brielle Bernardy
Dog menu.
Vegan options galore.
Amazing covered patio.
Shelbe Braaten
I've been going to the Howe for 3 years now and can say that I have never once been disappointed. AMAZING food, they even have the option for cauliflower rice. Great drinks, and always friendly staff. Love that it's dog friendly too.
Cecilia Oberg
Food and service was delightful! Went in for a little birthday dinner, (we brought in our own cheese cake) and the waitress provided us with some candles! It was really nice and a few other of the waiters all came over and sang happy birthday with us. I was a lovely atmosphere.
Adam Morgan
I've been here several times with different people. The food is always great and the drinks are too. Dog friendly makes the place even better and this tends to be a go to for me if family/friends are visiting. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner items always hit the spot and I've always been treated well by servers/staff. Outdoor seating and nice smiles by the workers make it 5 stars for me!
Austin Lane
I really enjoy this restaurant, the staff and service has always been great when I go. The menu has many options and they are all so delicious. A great place to sit outside when it is patio season. I can't get enough of their broasted chicken!
Katelyn Ditzler
Good food and cute building. I got the avocado toast and it was good. I was looking forward to trying the soup, but they didn't start serving it until 2, so that was disappointing since we were there for lunch at 12.
Steven Teresi
My wife and I absolutely love the food and service at The Howe. The broasted chicken is probably the best I have ever eaten and cooked perfectly. We also love the delicious vegan options. And desserts are outstanding as well. Highly recommend the yummy food
Nicole Marie Geiger
Awesome! I enjoyed my burger (cooked perfectly) and fries but seriously had a blast watching my pup go bananas over his beef/rice dinner! He was in heaven! I scored a marrow bone for a later treat as well. He eyeballed it 🤣 my guess is it will be a 10/10! Will order again!
Chantal Ally
I had the half chicken, and as a woman who is very particular about her chicken........booaaaahhh that shi was incredible
Shawnie Marie
Got burgers , tots and fruit cup for the grands. I tried the mini donuts, they soft, warm, with a hint of cinnamon sugar 😋 the chocolate sauce and the berry sauce were both very complimentary.
Easy parking and quick, friendly service.
Michelle Basham
We absolutely loved this place! We brought our rescue pup Rosie here for her birthday lunch and it was amazing: the food, staff, drinks, everything was great! Rosie loved her K-9 chicken and they brought her a free dessert for her birthday!!!
Stephanie Stager
Ordered the chicken strip basket and steak sandwich on our most recent visit. Both excellent and would get again. The chicken from Howe is one of our favorite takeout meals. Always good food!
Abbey Woodring
I don't normally write reviews, but I thought this time it was worth saying something!! I went here for dinner with a group of friends and the food & service was outstanding! Our servers had amazing energy, it made us feel so welcome and we had a lot of fun interacting with them. The food was INCREDIBLE. I went to culinary school so I'm a big foodie/not easily impressed. The fig burger is hands down the best burger I've ever had. The flavors and textures were spot on, and patties were cooked to perfection. 1000/10 reccomend this place.
Michael “Mike” Gilliland
Because my BFF happens to be an English Bulldog who is spoiled rotten and also the only companion I know in the area, he’s my dining buddy as well in most evenings. Currently we’re commuting into town from NE KS, with plans to be relocated by 7/1. As such, I was looking for a place that would welcome him and we happened across the gem. Amazing food, great staff and overall wonderful experience. They even have a menu dedicated to your dog. We checked it out three nights in a row primarily so dad could hope to find the first waitress again but that didn’t work out, so we did what most normal folks do and just enjoyed three wonderful meals. The Mac & Brisket is amazing, the chicken is perfection and I can’t recall the name of the third but it had a tortilla base with a medley of ingredients stack on top including just the right amount spice. Chief had salmon cakes that he loved, some peanut butter something that he loved and some greens with an egg that left him a mess because he’s a smash face and I think he liked it but was embarrassed because he wore most of it home 😂. We’ll be back…not just for the waitress either 😜.
Casey Rafn
I like The Howe, a friend and I go here now all the time before movies at Trylon. You'll notice that it's always pretty full, even on weeknights. Good atmosphere, solid food, and the wait staff usually tell you their honest opinions on the dishes, which is priceless.
Emma Deppa
LOVE this place (though admittedly i’ve never been inside except to use the restroom — the “pawtio” is where it’s at). the food is REALLY good and the cocktails are great too! the cheese curds are some of the best i’ve had and i could drink the spicy jelly that comes with them. i could also drink their buffalo sauce omg it’s soooo good. the broasted chicken is awesome, and i personally didn’t have the tots/chicken tenders, but my dad said they were the best tenders he’d ever had. also LOVE that they’re SO DOG FRIENDLY! they have yoga mats for dogs and water bowls, plus a whole menu just for (well behaved) dogs 🐶 will come back here many, many times i am sure.
Jordan Cataldo
We sat in the pawtio because we had a couple of puppers with us. The menus were brought quickly but no dog menu was supplied until after we received our main courses. The brunch drinks were on point and quickly brought.
The variety of menu items was less than on previous visits with many of them items covered in hollandaise sauce. There were vegetarian options. Several options were on the spicier side and many lacked a standard breakfast or standard lunch feel, most dishes were a blend between, like pancakes as tacos.
I ordered a burger that arrived slightly cold and with fewer fries than I expected considering the fries were an upcharge and so was the side of barbecue sauce I ordered. A majority of the people in our party said they wouldn't have ordered what they had again if we came back.
The tent was colder than expected even with the heaters, but what was a bigger issue was the condensation on the inside of the structure raining down throughout the meal. Out of the several visits I've made to this restaurant, the experience was the worst I have had and makes me reconsider returning in the near term. I might wait until summer and look for their normal menu over the brunch menu.
Ellen Sawyer
Ate at The Howe for the first time this week and the food was delicious. 😋 I loved the atmosphere and our server was great! Definitely would recommend, and can’t wait to take my pup and eat on the patio this summer!
Born Awsumb
Great service considering how it was very very busy there.
The wait was worth the burgers and the signature cocktails were even better than the food.
Dog friendly patio too!
Chicken Lyngaas
Great, diverse food, we've eaten in the restaurant and had delivery. The Broasted chicken is particularly good, and they have choices for vegetarians that don't feel like compromises.
Terry Fowler
We so enjoyed this very dog friendly restaurant!!
Tried it because it was included in Sidewalk dogs Treat Pass, loved it enough to go back for another visit. Patio is very dog friendly, apparently it’s covered and heated in winter so the fun can continue!
Food was excellent. Had been craving broasted chicken and it was perfectly delicious!
Great food and fun atmosphere!
Edited to say we have been back and the food and service remain great!
Elijah Nichols
Food was pretty good, but very annoying to pay $20 for a BBQ grilled cheese and then get nickle and dimed for every little things, probably had 6 random $1 charges, like pickles, honey mustard for kids chicken tenders, oh and then some random "employee health" 5% charge on top of all that.
Drinks were good but $15 for a Manhatten and the ice cube took up the entire glass felt like poor value
Anna Barrick
This has been a favorite of ours for at least 7 years. We used to live walking distance (back when they had bottomless mimosas) and have since moved. Even though the bottomless mimosas are no longer on the menu, and we're 25-mins away -- we still go here often!! Highly highly HIGHLY recommend the paco's. I tried something else one other time and was disappointed I didn't go with my tried and true!! (Although all their food really truly is amazing). Our dog Rocko also loves it here. Their patio is the best!! Especially since COVID with tons more outdoor space now available.
Traci Hall
My dog and I just moved to Minneapolis and we are going to be regulars here! This is the friendliest place we've ever been! They have mats and water bowls for dogs and a dog menu and vegan options for humans and a great beer list and a nice patio, the list goes on! We loved it and will be back again and again!
Cameron Smith
Great food! Fast service. Very friendly staff. Had the Vegan Philly …. WOW! Bursting with flavor. Perfectly sautéd vegetables. Freakin sriracha aioli brings it all together. Sheesh!! I may grab another on the way home 🥴! Seriously so good. This place doesn’t play about it’s food. …
Silvio Kavistan Vega
Great experience and I really like the fried chicken. When you think about where should I find a good fried chicken, this is the place for you. The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive.
Kailee Carlson
This place is a must if you have a dog. We brought our yellow lab because of the dog friendly "pawtio" and he was treated like a king. They immediately brought a water dish, a mat for him to lay on, and a dog treat and had a special food menu just for dogs. We came for brunch and I got the "This Chic is hot" breakfast sandwich with breakfast potatoes. The biscuit it came on was more the texture of a soft bun than biscuit and the sandwich had a bit of a kick but it was good and the potatoes were great. Fast and friendly service. Would like to come back with our dog for drinks and lunch or dinner food.
Nicole Einfeldt
Service was fast and friendly, even without a reservation during Sunday brunch. First time here and the food was delicious. We will be returning very soon.
Tedra Bonner
The to-go option is wonderful. It's my Saturday night, coming home from work, dinner each week! Covienent to-go window to pick up food. Always on time(sometimes early) and yummy.
Michael Freeman
It starts with top notch service. And then you receive a menu that is so friendly to sell many people. Now of the different times that I have eaten here I've always been 5 🌟 pleased . Not only a lifelong cook but a definite connoisseur of food. They seem to stretch the boundaries of your basic things and make them excellent. Burgers done to perfection chicken that is top 5% excellent. And the little twists on normal menu items to be fantastic you'd have to go here about 20 times before you can get bored of the menu.
Wenn Townsend
Out with the old in with the new?! I do like this place and they did a nice remodel, but it's certainly no longer the neighborhood bar feel.
Updated review- pretty good boasted chicken. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was really good. Flat bread was unfortunately soggy and they still need to work on food timing- app came out with Entrees for the 3rd time.
jesse james johnson
Friendly service, reasonable kitchen speed. But their menu is getting simple. No longer do they have the adventurous vegan options but dull options that I could take or leave.
nate f
What a gem! I was hungry on the way to an appointment. I walked in to a very well put together spacious bar/eatery. It was the Howe!!! Was promptly greeted by staff and the bar tender as I sat down at the bar. Pursuing their menu I was very impressed with the variety of their eats! I settled on a bloody mary (top 3 in the cities). I never did order food that day as I started to run slightly behind schedule but I will be back as everyone I chatted with raved on the quality and deliciousness of the food. They definitely have consistency!!!!!
Megan Yount
good, but salad was way overdressed. cheese curds were def the highlight. server, while nice, was out of his element and seemed a bit overwhelmed.
Joshua Mollan
The Howe Daily Kitchen & Bar is a gem! Quinn helped us out the morning we went and he was an exceptional service member. Knowledgeable of the food and drinks. Beer selection was expansive. Food was cooked perfectly and extremely delicious. I’m very glad we chose to stop here for lunch. I would highly recommend!
Angela A
As always the blue fig burger is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Everything is always delicious at the howe!
Crystal Vrieze
The service was excellent, server went out of her way to ensure nothing I ordered had gluten in it. The pic of the Stella 🍺 was my hubbys, I can't drink that either. I had a 🍔 on gluten free bun with salad. It was so delicious. Tomatoes and lettuce were fresh, no brown in site. They have a menu for your dog, how awesome is that, I dont have a 🐕 but still. Will be coming back for sure.
Mikaela Devine
I like their menu options, but they got 3 different elements wrong on my pretty basic burger.
william mccabe
Food didn't have a freshly made taste. Hamburger was overdone and dry and the slaw was a little wilted .
Aaron Jones
Great lunch spot. Nice food and drink options, good service and fun place to be in the middle of the city!
Rachel Day
We ordered takeout and everything was delicious! I had the Phoebe which was delightful, and my son had a burger that he really enjoyed. We shared the Buffalo cauliflower, and both of us loved it! All the food was perfectly cooked, exactly as requested. We will definitely be back!
Ian Hoxworth
Love the vegan options here, and the outdoor spaces. Their vegan nachos are among my favorites I've had!
Krista Yamashita.
A delicious place that's dog friendly and has a wide variety of foods. I love that there's vegan and vegetarian fare. Came here for National Dog Day and my dog ate a celebratory muttloaf. Staff friendly and prompt.
Richard Fong
The Howe is a great spot in S. Minneapolis. Their menu is simple and the food very tasty. I had the B.E.LT.A which is their version of the BLT. After our meal my wife said that her Turkey Burger was “really, really, really good.”
They also have a nice list of local beer and is dog friendly, really!
Pro advice - they have 2 patios the one in the back is quieter than the one that faces Minnehaha Ave.
Dave Palmieri
The Howe is great: wide beer selection, big patios and very friendly service.
Our last visit we biked over for their Tuesday broasted chicken special. Their chicken is excellent.
With their big beer menu, the Howe also offers reasonably priced flights to sample multiple beers.
Simply put - the Howe is one of our favorite restaurants and we really enjoy it. Highly recommended!
Sol “Papyrus” Badnews
I had to come over for a bloody mary after seeing the website! Friendly attentive servers! Busy and yet somehow attentive bartender! They're really cranking it out for their workers, so if you go over there be sure to tip really well! I had the non-alcoholic bloody Mary because I forgot my id, and it was to die for! The most delicious bloody Mary I've had in a long time!
Jessica Jacobsen
I had a rough day and they took the extra care and time to make sure my (substitute-filled) order was correct. They have done a great job with my past orders as well, but this one was particularly appreciated. Highly recommend!
Selina Williams
Super tasty food. For a Tuesday night they were fairly busy. Even tho the wait was long to be seated, the waitress was prompt and our food came out quickly.
Sue Duval
Love the Howe! Food is always excellent. Being a dog lover, I appreciate their dog menu! One of my fav restaurants in the Twin Cities
Beverly Sutherland
First time visit. Excellent food. Excellent ambiance. Excellent service. Had the Tuscan pasta with chicken and it was fabulous. The chicken was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back.
Michelle Clark
Food is great. Service is great. I get it's a sports thing, but the TV didn't need to be turned up that loud.
Gregory Schlee
Updated neighborhood dive bar. Friendly service and the food was delicious. We shared the club sandwich with fries. We will make the effort to get back.
Ana K
Phoebe sandwich is our favorite vegan option and the fries are phenomenal. Honestly wish they still had the spicy ketchup but still the best thing ever.
Devin Gidley
The staff was incredibly kind even though I didn't know the dog rules. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly! Everyone is excited for the dogs to be there and doesn't just tolerate them line most places. I included the chicken meal they made for my pup!
Pete Foltz
Amazing food. Just top notch. Fanatic beer menu. Highly recommend
Harris Kleyman
The breakfast biscuit pop up is amazing and definitely shouldn’t be missed. Check it out! Great flavor and can’t beat the price. Definitely coming back to try this one again.
Marie Mehlhoff
Food was delicious. We had the spicy chicken sandwich, the nachos, and the turkey club. Yum! French fries are out of this world.
Liz Erickson Monson
The dog menu is what makes this place what it is- unique, quirky and unapologetic. Food, drink, service and setting are all spot-on. I have yet to be disappointed by anything at this place. Plus, they keep my dog happy!
John Rynders
Always enjoy eating at The Howe! Decided to enjoy some nice weather and walk there for take out. The food was ready on time and delicious!
Katelyn Burns
First time visit for lunch and was blown away. The food was amazing. We had the fish and chips, brisket, and brisket Mac and cheese. We brought the pup along and sat on the patio. The pup had a frozen marrow bone which she loved! They had a water bowl and mat for the dog ready before we even got to the table. There server was so friendly and fast. Our food came out so fast and she took great care for the whole meal. Overall fantastic experience.
Isabel Seibert
Absolutely amazing! I had the vegan specials that are supposedly around for just this weekend (chili con queso and mac & cheese) and they were so so good! I'm really hoping they see that there is a high demand for ethical foods and keep those dishes around! I'll still go back for their many other vegan options such as the many tacos, impossible burger, and Korean BBQ rib sandwich. The atmosphere and service was also amazing! Definitely a new favorite for me.
Lucas Jensen
Colette was awesome and the sweet fries were super good. I tried the Berry Cobbler which was nice and warm on a cool fall day.
Brian Duclos
The brisket burger was the awesome but the brisket grill cheese was way too bready and light on cheese. The onion rings were all dough and you only get like 4 in an order. They also have some weird bootleg ketchup instead of Heinz or a house kethcup. The old fashioneds were totally on point though. Not a bad spot but not great.
Tanya Spiess
Great atmosphere, dined off the patio. Staff including manager were wonderful. Food and drinks were great
Slsclimbhgts Minneapolis
Attentive service for a large group. 2 patios surrounded by lots of plants. Everyone was satisfied with their dinner choices.
Chelsey Finnegan
I always have a great time and experience at The Howe. The food is always delicious, their cocktails and beer list is one of my favorites, and the atmosphere is phenomenal.
Zachariah Roberts
Fun outdoor space! You reserve a time slot and get to play ice games outside - beer pong and bags. The reservation comes with a couple drinks and smore's included.
Michelle Doody
Stop buying $13 cheese curds from restaurants. I encourage you to go to the Ellsworth co-op yourself. $13 cheese curds? Stop it. Just stop it.
Caleb Baumgartner
Popped in during lunch on a Friday. Not terribly busy. We were told to seat ourselves and and we asked if the patio was open, went out back when we were given the okay, and then came back inside when we didn't see a server or another human being after 15 minutes. Food was good, served pretty fast, I ordered the flaming hot cheetos mac n cheese which was not really all the spicy, friend had the Impossible burger which seems like a vegan take on a big mac. He split it with me, it was great, I'll definitely get that on the next visit.
Kelsie Knippenberg
Love it here. Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. Take ya hunny out onna date and enjoy yourself at the Howe why don't ya ;)
Amy Workman
Wonderful service and delicious food. We attended a dog's birthday party which was just awesome that he got his own menu and he loved his bone and chicken dinner. The server even had tips to help make sure it agreed with him by making sure it cooled down enough.
Sat on the enclosed patio in the winter. It's nothing glamorous, definitely aware that you're in the parking lot by the ground and curb behind the table and the iron tables, but we could have the dog out there and the kids could be a little more free so it was perfect. Still had the game on and was plenty warm, but you'll still want to dress warmer than not in the winter. I really appreciate the extensive kid menu and their friendliness towards kids. Going out with little kids is hard, so when we aren't treated like a burden it goes a long way in making our family feel welcome and we're happy to order another round and tip big.
Ross Schreck
Great spot with cool takes on old familiars! Good drinks and very solid food. A nice spot for families
Steven Munnelly
I can’t love this place any more. A dog menu, meatless options, and more—while the menu can be a bit pricey, the quality more than delivers. Whether we dine in or do take out from their little window in the back, we have always been delighted by this place.
Our dog even gets a meal if we come sit on the patio! Love that she can get a healthy bowl along with us.
C. B. D.
Delicious food and beers. I don’t recommend the cheese curds, unfortunately. Very friendly and attentive servers!
Buffalo chicken salad is perfect and so is the broasted chicken bowl (with no special sauce)!!
Toua Lee
Yummy fried chicken and service was awesome too! Got the Hot Chick chicken sandwich and also the half chicken meal.
Jonathan Voss
Food was pretty good, drinks were a little off for how expensive they are. Waiter was nice but seemed overwhelmed.
Liz B.
Visited this location for lunch and they had great sandwiches and soup. Would be a fun location to watch football game.
Derek Price
The wings at The Howe are absolutely magnificent. They're really well fried and the sauces are flavorful without being overpowering. My favorite sauces were buffalo and hot chic. They also have pretty good happy hour deals on drinks! I will definitely be coming back here again.
sydney komoto
decent spot! came in with a few friends for some appetizers. the elote corn dip was amazing!! definitely recommend. the pretzel bites were pretty good and unfortunately the tater tots were served cold. good service though. we were in and out pretty quickly.
Kari Moen
So good! Hard to impress my husband and he said he was impressed how good the food is! We met at Jimmy's that was at this location 34 years ago!
Mark Eliason
Agreed ... amazing service, food, environment. This is a very friendly restaurant/bar with a beautiful sidewalk cafe in front and patio out back. The inside feels like a warm neighborhood bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they strike just the right balance between visible/invisible. We had the Thai Peanut Wrap for lunch which was plenty large enough for the two of us to split. Rounded out by a very good beer list and a gorgeous Minneapolis summer day, we were plenty satisfied with the entire experience. Part of the interior bar area is made out of an old railroad car that looks like it might have been a caboose adding a unique ceiling with "skylights". We highly recommend the Howe for lunch or dinner, inside or outside, any time of year.
Joe Dancho
First of all, they are open on Thanksgiving! Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service... Definitely will be coming back here again!
mark tucker
Just started coming here for about 2 months, and got to say, great food and service. Killer 80's music in the background, and the bartenders know what to play on the Tv's. The food is always great, and prices are reasonable. The bartenders will have you cracking up too.
O yea, I was greeted by a Easter Bunny in the parking lot while coming in to enjoy a quick Bloody!! (on Easter Sunday) . Nice pitch..
Cj Ash
This place makes some of the best vegan eats I've had in a good long while. The vegan Reuben with 1000 island dressing is my go-to, but I haven't had a bad experience with any of their food that I've tried. 10/10 recommend.
Mary Penny
So good. Great beer selection, delicious food. The Fish & Chips is one of my favorite around the cities.
If there for brunch GET THE PACOS.
mark cady
Higher middle bar & restaurant. Part Of a chain of unique minneapolis restaurants. Canine friendly (NO cats please). Food & service are always good. Large patios. Great food/drink selection. Great for
A meal After the Riverview Theatre
Shahrin Shabnam Upoma
I ordered the brisket grilled cheese with coleslaw. While the coleslaw could have been better, the sandwich is AWESOME! I was in awe when I took the first bite. I finished it so fast, didn’t get the chance to take a picture. But it’s a must try.
Matt Silver
Great place! Cauliflower buffalo “wings”?! Why yes, I will! Chicken is amazing too!
Ann Bernstein
Sparkling neighborhood bar and restaurant with high quality food and service. Menu has something for everyone: American bar food, international options, vegan and vegetarian options or good old fashioned burgers and fries, capped off with a great lineup of beers, mixed drinks, and nonalcoholic beverages. TV screens playing sports in every direction but easy to ignore unless you or your companion get sucked in easily.
A T
It was an enjoyable experience. The menu was pretty decent. I ordered a burger and got an additional patty thinking the 1/3 pound patty wouldn't be enough. These are big patties! Service was good . The place seemed pretty clean as well. Although it was pretty busy, we had no trouble getting a table. I would go back here if I was in the Minneapolis area again.
Charger Forme
Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was great! I had the jambalia and substituted cauliflower rice - very tasty and healthy!
sarah baube
It was a good brunch and nice atmosphere. The french toast was tasty but a little dry. We also had wings which were standard and good.
Kristie Burns
Great local hangout with creative, tasty craft cocktails and comfort food- high quality burgers, chicken
Chelsie Flickinger
Like the location and the fact that there’s a parking lot.
LOVED, and I mean LOVED the loaded hash brown waffle. Basically, hashbrowns cooked on a waffle maker with stuff on top, and blueberry ketchup on the side. Sadly, they’ve taken it off the menu due to logistical reasons, which I can understand. Just super sad about it!
Pictured is the hashbrown waffle.... I sent the pic to friends when I tried it about a month ago and SO many wanted to go try it when they’re in the area next, but won’t be happening now.
Overall, a pretty short breakfast menu without the hashbrown waffle, so they may want to look at adding some new creative stuff. :)
I tried the breakfast burrito with bacon and would also recommend that!
Update: They've updated their brunch menu and it's amazing! The rest of the food is phenomenal too! Love the atmosphere here.
Stephanie Martin
Great for vegans/vegetarians if you need a quick bite in the neighborhood. Also, lots of choices for kids and the portion sizes are very generous- my side of tots was almost a full basket by itself.
Mary Wharton
Love everything about this place, the food and service is always exceptional, the dog patio is one of the best in Minneapolis!
Sheena Curry
I LOVE having The Howe in my neighborhood. It is such a fun spot to hang out at. They have a great outdoor space, good beer selection and everything I have tried on their menu is delicious. Definitely stop by if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.
M L
This place offers an outside ice game area with bags/cornhole played on an ice blocks, beer pong on an ice table and a fire pit. You need to reserve the area in advance for $20 but they include 2 drinks and a s'mores kit. We aren't eating indoors yet so this was a great way to meet up during winter.
Steve Rinker
We live the Howe! Great drinks! Great food! Can anyone say BROASTED CHICKEN?! Amazing!
mary
We were here on Christmas Eve with a group of 9. They were very accommodating and attentive. We are not from the area, but will stop back.
Scott Kane
It's a little spendy, but the food is excellent and the bartenders are great
Adam B
Incredible vegan options and mocktails! The best vegan burger I've ever had
Steveo El Doggo
The food was outstanding! Wait staff was super friendly and quick witted. Memossa's were delicious. I will be back!!!!
Monika Jaeger
Excellent service for the pups! Seriously one of the best dog friendly restaurants around. Yoga mats for them to sit on, water dishes, and a full service menu for them! Great food for the humans too!
Hatem Khalfaoui
Cool dog friendly patio!
Jared Jones
Great food, excellent beer selection, huge portions for the price and a wonderful staff. The patio is dig friendly and they even have a small, dedicated dog menu too. Great neighborhood spot that I'm sure me and my pooch will frequent.
Debbie Colling
Very good food. Always treat. My pups love the mutt loaf. I love the nachos.
Lance Kinstner
Good drinks and draft selection here. They’ve got nice outdoor seating year round, and even a dog menu for the pups. I really enjoy their pretzel nuggets app, but really I’ve been pleased by everything at The Howe. I’ve been twice and will likely return.
N P C G
Great Food, Great Service with Great Friends.
Becca Freeman
I went here with my dad and brother for a change in scenery and had a great brunch! I ordered the Garden Toast, my dad ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, and my brother ordered the Spicy Benedict. The Benedict did have a kick to it but wasn't overwhelmingly spicy which was nice! I enjoyed my Garden Toast greatly as well and my lavender Mocktail Mule. My brother loved the Bloody Mary he ordered as well - great selection of those!
Jeremy Vrieze
Omg Becky. This is seriously the best place I've been to in Minneapolis/Saint Paul so far.
I just had the bars signature burger and broccoli tator tots and I am full but totally wishing I could eat three more. You are missing out if you don't eat at Howe.
In fact your life will be unfulfilled, and pointless unless you eat here. The music and atmosphere are modern the cooks know there stuff the wait staff are very nice and they got a food menu for your pets.
The brunch is really tasty and you can't miss a game because tv's are cleverly placed.
Aja Mitchell
Pick up service window was easy and food was delicious (cinnamon roll pancakes and cheddar biscuits and gravy).
Myha Le
Head the broasted chicken sandwich. It wasn't hot, but more lukewarm, but still tasty. The fries were amazing. Nice service.
P Watson
I’m going with three stars due strictly to the excellent bartender I had for lunch service today. Honestly, nothing super spectacular or standout about this place. Wide beer selection. Good food choices. Yes, “good” - as in solid choices and a lot of variety to them, but nothing overly special, and indeed could be overwhelming maybe.
The spicy fried chicken, once I got it (“yes we have it, no we don’t, yes we have it” - and yes, I know supply chain issues are a thing right now, but c’mon, it’s either available or not) wasn’t memorable, and may have been a bit soggy. I wouldn’t get that again. The brisket grilled cheese my friend had was good, but again, didn’t blow his mind.
Bartender was stellar though. Witty, good beer recommendations and a good banter throughout the meal. I’d go back just for him if I was in the area and wanted a beer and app - but not a destination for me otherwise.
Jody Malik
My burger was perfectly made and delicious. The fries were awesome as well. I Normally don't eat it all but it was so good, I ate it all. Yummy. Highly recommended!!
Scot Mahan-Miller
To me this is a great place to geta good burger with Tater Tots instead of the normal fries. The dipping sauce is a Minnesota standard, the drink menu is good (both the hard and the not hard). It can get pricey, but for me as an occasional splurge not too bad.
Jonathan Mauriala
Phenomenal vegan options, around half the menu was vegan or could be made as such. Great fried food, veggie and mushroom burgers. I didnt feel like vegan was an after thought. Great mocktails as well!!
Tiffany Morgan
Love this local neighborhood gem! Caters to people and their fur companions, including special dog menu. Burger was great!
A Johnson
Friendly and attentive service as always! Love the bowls (we had the cauliflower one), and the vegan Reuben was very inventive and tasty. Great old fashioneds, and the rotating slushie (lemon lavender) was awesome! Also really appreciate the ability to donate meals to healthcare workers, that's a nice touch.
Caitlin Percy
Kitchen closes at 10:15pm. Food is ok. Everything is expensive. Service is usually good.
Sher Hakes
Our group of ten family members (eleven, if you count the pooch in the purse) had a fantastic experience Saturday afternoon. A couple were confident in the menu and the food did not disappoint. The Phoebe’s, in particular, were a big hit as was the chicken. But large groups with kids and grandparents who can’t seem to stay in their seats (the elders, more than the kids!) can be a challenge for wait staff. We received flawless service. Howe is a favorite spot.
Scott Walter
This place has become a standard spot for a group of us to meet weekly for breakfast. Their patio is fantastic, and the food is outstanding. AND, they're dog friendly, down to having special house-made dog treats on the menu. Both you and you're pooch will love it!
Syd Stratman
I go to and get takeout from here frequently. Highly recommend the food and cocktails.
Ashley Austin
We came in as a big group and our waitress was nothing but nice and polite to all of us! She was super understanding of us being indecisive on what to order too and very patient with us. Funny as well! It was nice to go at such a busy time in a large group and be treated so nice!!
Jeremy Dallman
Good fast service food is good too only hang up was beer beverage list is online only can't view it while you're in the restaurant or at least I didn't have access
Sue Falldin
Sat outside on the patio on a beautiful day. Both service and food were great. Had been wanting to go there since it changed from the rail station to Howe and finally did. Will definitely return.
David Lincoln
Everyone in our group was pretty happy with the food. My wifes salmon was a bit fishy but edible. I had the brisket grilled cheese and that was pretty good. They make the coleslaw side dish sound like something special.... its not... really just a basic plaine coleslaw. Its fine but the chips or fries may be a better choice next time.
Kiki K.
Really loved the atmosphere here. A very cozy, cool vibe. Easy, off street parking was convenient. Three of the 4 of us were vegan, so it was really nice to have serval options on the menu to choose from. We all had the "Phoebe", which is a beet sandwich that was absolutely delicious! Their fries were also amazing and the Spicy Bloody Mary did not disappoint! They also had a fire going out on the patio for roasting marshmallows which was a really nice touch. I would definitely recommend The Howe!
Sarah
Decent food, higher prices. I like that they have vegan options, although the options include things you can buy at the store like Beyond burgers and Chao cheese (vs a place like Reverie that makes everything in-house) - but, hey, I'm never going to complain about a place that offers more than one animal-free option. And they do have one whole foods vegan meal, a veggie and tofu curry! My not-vegan dining companion loves the chicken wings, the coleslaw, and the Blue Fig burger. The fries are A+.
Minus one star because the time we went to dine-in on the patio (before that we'd only ever done takeout), there was an insane wait time between finishing our meal and getting a check. We got a box right away, but then waited what felt like 45 mins with empty plates, empty glasses, boxed food, and an impatient baby. Only minus one star because the staff was super duper friendly and playful with our baby before that.
Nina Horvath
Rami is amazing, she always gets me in & makes sure I am taken care of! I have also had the pleasure to be served by Ariana multiple times & she goes above & beyond. 10/10 service all around, & not to mention the BEST chicken wings in town, I kid you not. I love it here!
Megan Henning
They have a great selection of cocktails (Kanye South!!) and taps and their menu has enough variety I always find something I’m interested in. The patio is by far the best part, but I come here in all seasons whenever I’m meeting up with friends as you can usually find a spot and the central location can’t be beat.
Lisa Kehe
Beautiful patio, extensive drink options, and really good food! Service was attentive and there were some great happy hour deals!
Leif Moser
Dog friendly, decent cocktails, consistently good pub grub
Eric Pitt
Fantastic food and even better staff. Nic is the best server in town, thank you for a great experience.
Roxanne Nelson
Love this place as a go-to for dining with our dog. Patio seating welcomes puppies/dogs and provides water bowls and pup menu. Our dog loves the mutt-loaf.
Ashley Chmielewski
Great Beyond Burger and cheese curd meal. Not a lot of restaurants offer cheese curds as a meal side so I got everything I wanted. No beer this time but definitely next visit. Earned Craft and Crew points with being a member. I recommend it.
Dylan Johnson
Great burgers, bowls, and vegetarian options only complaint is the wing portions were kinda small for the price
Kent Malcomson
Long wait for patio seating. Not unexpected for a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Indoors was busy, reservations required. However, didn't feel too crowded. Employees all masked.
Really good and varied Sunday brunch menu. Paco's were amazing! Pancake 'tacos' stuffed with scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Delicious!
RaNetta Penland
They have the best flavored wings in MN. So I get there are BWW but The Howe Wing’s are meaty and the Cajun Dry Rub and Sweet Thai Chili are outstanding! So much flavor and cooked to perfection. This place is a must. Not to mention they have really good cheese curds! Even their boneless wings are amazing!
Ping Wang
No more squeezed deschutes. Fish and chips are still good but price shot up like rockets.
M C
Fun spot, great food. Easy going. if you’re ordering pick up or delivery, use their site. Much much cheaper to go directly through them than 3rd party delivery.
Deborah Witherspoon
Great service and the burger I split with a friend was delicious. Visit The Howe Daily Kitchen for great late night eats and a soothing end of the night atmosphere!
Heather K
This place is far too expensive for what you get. Sometimes the service is subpar and unwelcoming, other times it's fine. The Buffalo chicken salad is definitely tasty, but highly overpriced for lettuce and a few toppings, although that seems to be an ongoing trend these days. It's the only bar that's open in the neighborhood to get a late dinner after work. That's truthfully the only reason we continue to dine here.
Ihunktowan Spierre
Great service awesome food n affordable prices...dog friendly patio....
Rebecca S.
Delicious! Great service and atmosphere. I appreciate that they are accommodating to different comfort levels as we all begin to mingle again. Also love that there are yoga mats for dogs on the back deck so they are comfy during dinner too.
Fable Hill
This place has solid food, I really like the fajita bowl and the burgers. We've eaten there a lot, and the service is often a bit slow on the patio. There have also been quite a few time our food has come out missing components and needing a second trip to the kitchen. That said, service is always super friendly and responsive. We will continue to return because they have dog friendly seating year round, with a dog menu that our pup loves. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant.
Christine Wilson
The new King Howe burger was so good! If you love mushrooms, this is the burger for you. We had a great time celebrating my mom’s birthday here, lots of different options for everyone.
Tyler P
Great food. Have only gotten takeout here, but have done it many times. Chicken bites and pretzel bites are delicious. The wings are great as well, dry rub especially. And their sauces are plentiful and awesome.
Renee Boynton
Literally happened to drive by this place on the way to another restaurant and didn't to turn around. Glad we did! Sat at the bar, the servers were awesome and down to earth, service was fast, the beer selection is plentiful and the food is delicious. Ordered the nachos that are made with flattened and twisted fries- oh my it was amazing and we ate every last bite. The curry bowl was also amazing and was great for leftovers! Highly recommend
Cornelius Vango
I was very curious about the train car built into the structure, but nobody i spoke to knew anything about it. It still sits on buried track and its from the great northern railway which shut down in 1970... they should have a plaque or something about it, its super cool!
Don Paulson
Best chicken ever. Great service, fantastic food. Will definitely be back
David Tran
Food was a bit pricey for the quality. I had the chicken sandwich but I think I'd rather have the one from Popeye's. The fries are delicious, though. That said, the patio is great and they have excellent service.
Craig MTRGoose
The service was good. We had the turkey burger and regular burger. Both were fantastic. Done to order, juicy and delicious. I had onion rings and other had mashed potatoes for out sides. They were great too. I will be back.
SightseeingSally
1. Excellent service - staff was friendly, attentive, and food was brought to our table faster than expected.
2. Lots of great menu and drink choices, especially if you’re health conscious and/or vegan/vegetarian.
3. Food was fantastic!! I’m not vegan and yet, I loved the Phoebe.
4. Very pet friendly patio - includes a yoga mat for your furry friend to sit on and a menu of foods prepared special for dogs and cats!!
5. Spray bottles of hand sanitizer available on all the tables.
If you’re looking for a pet friendly restaurant, I highly recommend eating at The Howe. Their pet friendly patio is a great place to grab a bite with Fido at your feet.
Julie Rea
We have been there for breakfast a few times and every time it is great. Spicy Benedict - wow! Last night for dinner our party of 6 had wonderful food and exceptional service. The broasted chicken and sides are fantastic but even so, I was still checking out my daughter's brisket grilled cheese sandwich...it looked amazing!
MN King1399
They have some of the best food, our waitress wasn't on her game that day but over all the family had a great time for their first visit. Hope the service is better next time around. Don't get me wrong the first time me and my coworker had great service.

Great food great staff great people great environment
Ethan Schaumburger
I had the Brisket Mac and Cheese, a Strawberry Mocktini and since it was my birthday I got to take home a Very Berry Cobbler for free!!! Everything I ordered was delicious 😋
Amanda Kern
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!
I have recently became a Glutard (gluten free human) and The Howe has sooooooo many GF Options! I was thoroughly impressed and found it challenging on what to choose! Fell in love with the Hummus Platter and my go to is the Phuket Bowl! Head to the bar and see a local favorite, Maria the Bartenders! Absolutely amazing soul and impeccable service!
Also the manager Ramii is super dope soul with amazing vibes and will have no issues pointing you to a great tasting brew or suggestion on filling your belly! Outstanding service and a great place overall!
Deborah Uhlemann
This is a charming, fun bar and restaurant. The service was great. The drinks and food were excellent, particularly the fried chicken. Comfortable and relaxing.
Mike Guild
fun dog friendly patios (plural). Bowls are delicious. surprisingly diverse tap beers
Michael Vogt
Nice little place. A good variety of great food. Plenty of options for carnivores and vegans as well. Excellent staff and friendly atmosphere.
Jacqueline Harens
I ordered online and went to go pick up. The server at the curbside to go was super welcoming and friendly. My food was ready right away and it tasted delicious! I got the brussel sprouts, fish and chips and I tried a chicken leg. I wish I ordered more chicken because it was amazing! I will definitely definitely definitely come back and for sure try more food!
Cam Stoeger
This is not my first time at The Howe, and it should also be mentioned that I have relatives who work there—however, I have not felt the need to review this place until after I had the boneless wings. The burgers are good, their ‘bowl’ options are delicious, but the wings! My goodness! These are properly fried and coated wings, with tender meat and some good heat.
W
This place fills up quickly for trivia nights and sports games, so get here early or make a reservation. If you live in the area, make a stop. The menu offers something different than your typical establishment and the beer list is quite good.
Keith White
Nice place but can get pretty loud. Delta Skymiles points if you are in the (free) Dining for Miles program! Beer list is excellent.
Jessica Nelson
The server and hostess were absolutely wonderful. The server was nearing the end of a double shift, open to close, and yet still had wonderful positive energy. I decided to change my drink order, but they had already poured my Sangria so they gave me the Sangria on the house in addition to the drink I wanted to swap to. Marvelous suggestions for meals. Me and the two others all enjoyed our orders; I had the creole pasta and would absolutely recommend it. Great atmosphere, service, and food. Would absolutely recommend The Howe.
May Cato
Loved the Broasted chicken! Mashed potatoes were a great side!
Ronald Johnson
Best spot I've been to for a drink.
No Jack Daniels, but the bartender and agreed that Maker's Mark would fit the bill. Jovial banter, warm atmosphere, attentive staff, friendly managers. I'll be back asap
Jen Gisler
Cool neighborhood restaurant. Staff is pretty cool and the feel and decor is comfy. The hot chicken is one of the most delicious fried chicken I have ever had. The meal comes with a small side of coleslaw and mashed w/ gravy. The price is totally reasonable. This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch!
Natalie J
I went to the Howe for a work holiday party. Every dish that each of my coworkers had was very well received. They have a phenomenal beer selection. Great cocktails. I recommend the Ruben and turkey club. Nothing can go wrong here. Our waitress was giving great advice, she was very interactive and helpful! I’ll be back!
Andy Fillmore
The food and atmosphere are excellent. They can be a little slow sometimes, so don't go if you are in a hurry. Otherwise it's a fantastic place to have dinner and drinks with friends. They have a lot of variety in their menu and can cater to every dietary need (I love their vegan nachos - and I'm not even vegan!)
Robia Wagner
The Harvest Bowl was delicious and the Hot Apple Cider drink they are offering this month needs to stay for the winter months!
Virginie Sanchez
Fun place (I went on trivia night), great food.
Jeff H
First time here, seated right away. The service was good, the beer selection was okay, the food was good.
I would suggest adjusting the craft beer selections to include more local beers, there's plenty to choose from.
The brisket dinner was very good.
The happy hour onion rings were not. They were way too greasy and should have been cooked longer. They have pretty much turned me off of deep fat fried foods.
Sarah Rude
I've never had a bad meal from Howe. And I love that they have things for dogs too. Will definitely continue ordering from them.
Jackie Martin
We love this place and have been going there since opening. The dinners are great as are the lunches. The staff is absolutely fabulous. They are always on top of things. The only thing that my husband and I wish would not have changed are the appetizers. We miss the original appetizers you used to have, such as the steak bites, and some others. It seems most are deep fried now, or just not that good. We do love your onion rings. We had your lettuce wraps which were soggy so we couldn't pick them up to eat them. We love coming in for a few cocktails and a few appetizers, but the appetizers are just not that appetizing. You also had a wine burger which was fabulous, but that is gone too. Just something to think about because we love going there. Thanks for listening.
dylan bauer
Foods great. Cant seem to get my order right anytime I come here. I understand if its busy but at 330 on a friday and there's 3 tables all day and you cant distinguish fries between tater tots and neither back of house or front of house to verify before the order goes out. Like as a line cook myself I don't understand why it's so hard to read or enter in a substitution. Got me confused, I didn't think reading wasn't a requirement. Give the people what they ordered not what you want to cook. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Jeff E
Busy, but seemed under staffed. Server did well, and was pleasant, but seemed overwhelmed at times.
Food was presented well, but quality was inconsistent. Two burgers in our party: both were to be medium rare. One was to rare, the other, overdone. My food was ok, just missing some chutzpah.
Angie Trudeau
Howe is a neighborhood staple, great drinks, atmosphere and food! The broasted chicken is amazing and we love the brisket mac and cheese. They have vegan options too! Also, the dog menu and dog friendly patio is awesome!
SAM-BAM
The dog-friendly patio indoor and outdoor is the best feature! In a good way. The food is good(lots of variety and veg choices), not great for the prices, I would expect more or just lower pricing. That's the only thing that keeps me from going more. Staff is nice and good beer selection, although kinda pricy as well. Overall good restaurants for dog lovers!
Debbie Fry
Perfect for all people and dogs! Great attention to details. Amazing place, excellent service. The food was delicious, including the human grade mutt loaf from the dog menu.
Highly recommend.
We will definitely go back for more.
♥️👍🌄🐕😎🥰🌈🐶

Delicious - blue fig burger and hot chicken sandwich were both amazing. Also their blueberry mule and spicy margarita were tasty. Will be back!
Carlos Saldaña
The dog-friendly patio was something I heard about so I decided to finally check this place out. Met a friend for dinner and brought my dog. They provided a separate menu of entrees for dogs ranging from $5-$8 which I thought was neat. I ordered the steak Cobb salad and I loved it. My friend ordered a medium rare burger and it was cooked pretty much well done, but she was hungry and the server was really busy so we didn’t bother mentioning it. I thought the menu had several interesting choices and I would definitely try this place again in the hopes that I would have a server who isn’t being overworked and can be a little more attentive.
Hannah Schewe
Delicious food!
In this instance, we were seated next to a tv and atm machine, in a small table. The noise and the screens were all too close and I was burnt out afterwards. I would make reservations, if possible, for a booth or sit in the heated patio instead which is usually only occupied by dog owners.
Cole Brenny
We liked the Howe before, but in the past 6 months the food and drinks have become truly amazing. Everything is quality and delicious. It's kid and dog friendly and the staff is always very kind!
Michael Galdenzi
I absolutely love this place. The food is always better than I expect and they have amazing vegan options. The beer selection is also top notch. Service is hit or miss but the place gets really busy out of the blue so that's to be expected. The vegan Korean tacos are my favorite. Not a fan of how they do jackfruit though, although my non vegan friend liked them and said they reminded him of fish.
Sonia Hill
This place has wonderful food!! Great indoor/outdoor seating and Spot can come sit outside and have lunch with you! The staff are all so very nice. I'm telling you Go Try The Howe you won't be disappointed! 😃 …

Excellent food and atmosphere! Enough TVs to watch sports too, while relaxing with friends.
Good selection of beers and cocktails
Sam Cusack
Atmosphere is great! The staff were pleasant, and went the extra mile to quickly clear a table when we asked to eat outside. I like that they are dog-friendly. Food came fast and portions were big, but not out-of-control huge. Staff checked in, but weren’t hovering. Overall great experience!

First, the food is delicious. I had the Cajun dry rub chicken wings and they were probably the best I've had. My party really enjoyed their food, too, as their bloody mary's were delicious and the eggs Benedict hit the spot. 5 star deliciousness.
However, the service I experienced today was painful. In the hour and a half my party was there, the place seemed normal busy: the type of busy where its not frantic busy, but relaxed busy. We waited an extended amount of time to be greeted by our waitress with no waters after we sat down, and by that time, we had already had decided what food and drink we wanted. Drinks were served shortly before the food arrived. We were never asked if we wanted another drink in our long stay there. They only asked if we were done with our plates. Then some more waiting to request our checks but they were quick to pick then up. I did notice the section I was sitting in was largely ignored by the staff.
After all that, I'll give them a second chance and update this because that food is amazing. Im optimistic this couldn't happen again based on other people's reviews.
Edit: it's now my favorite spot. Everyone go here.
Rebecca Costigan
You always get great service here! The drink menu is large and food is good. For the winter, they have a special Ice Games event with an outdoor patio, ice bar, s'mores and lawn games (bags and beer pong) made out of ice. Super fun and felt pretty safe with their safety precautions!
Jabes
Bone in broasted wings with dry rub and homemade bleu cheese dressing is my go-to here, patio is great, very dog friendly. Brunch is good too, this place has come along ways from its roots as Jimmy's Bar.
Kids menu is ok. Standard stuff.

We really love this new addition to the neighborhood. We have been three times, once for brunch, once for drinks, and once for dinner. The wait was always less than anticipated and the service was fantastic. For brunch, our food took a bit of time, I'd say about 25 minutes. I was fine with this, but they went out of their way to bring snacks while we waited and discounted the bill a significant amount. The manager was incredibly nice and we have always had a fantastic server. The prices were expected. I love the patio, the dog menu is adorable, and the updates are classy and well thought out. Definitely would recommend this place!
Beatrice Kehinde Joseph
Service was great, company was awesome, music was nostalgic, and the food I had (classic breakfast) was alright. Better than alright were the mimosas (mango - yum!), watermelon mojito (again, yum!) and mini donuts with that jam sauce!
Rebecca Amidon
Ordering online was easy. Pickup window in the parking lot is excellent. Food was great. Definitely going to return again to Howe!
Lucie Mulligan
We absolutely LOVE The Howe! Amazing food, great atmosphere, fair prices, and it's dog friendly! We love time spent on their patio, and our pup does too. It is also our go-to take out spot for busy week day dinners.
As a vegetarian I recommend:
Blue and Pear Salad
Pretzel Bites
Buffalo Cauliflower
Mac & Cheese
My meat eating boyfriend loves:
Buffalo Salad
Hot Chic (all options!)
Our dog, Piper recommends:
The Muttloaf!
Everything!
Anything mom and dad drop off the table on accident...

Have been here before and during COVID. Quality is still strong, and their cocktails and fried foods are especially good. The fish and chips come out HOT, which is fantastic.
Sean Devereaux
Love Howe, lots of great options my goto spot in the neighborhood.
JD Walker
Excellent service on a busy Thursday night! Very good craft beer menu, avoiding the many local but mediocre options. And my wife and I really appreciated all the vegetarian/vegan options on the menu, including the "impossible burger", which was fantastic! Can't wait to bring our dogs here when it gets a little warmer. :-)
Dan Carroll
First time there success it was Jimmy's then it became the Rail Station. Now as The Howe it's a comfy atmosphere with our nice waiter Jake. We talked about the history of the restaurant a bit and our common like of our doggies (which but the way are welcome on the patio and they have a wonderful doggy menu..I got the pigs ear which was large and my doggy delighted in it's bacon flavor.) Lots and I mean lots of parking and s cool modern liquor bar. I give out high marks for atmosphere and the food wasn't bad... Go try it out. Bring your pet
sena bizuwork
Super nice staff! Food is great, can't beat it. Great for Dogs!
Michele Kost
Take out orders are always on point and hot., even on Thanksgiving.
Scott D. Cole
Service from start to finish was excellent (from our greeting at the door to saying goodbye). Servers were working as a team and had each other's back - really impressive. Food was served quickly, piping hot, and very tasty (and this was on a busy Sunday afternoon). While the corned beef hash was great, the portion was light on the corned beef. The breakfast burrito was awesome with bacon, and the sweet potatoes had a nice kick. Good cocktail and beer list too. Definitely coming back!
Angel Lee
The staff's were awesome and our waiter was very kind. I also brought in my 2 dogs and they were very accommodating to them. I was pretty nervous at first coming in but the outdoor heated patio was awesome.
Theresa Wheeler
Our server was incredibly sweet & really helpful. We have allergies & they were accommodating & super understanding (rare finds in a restaurant). It was exciting because they had many allergen friendly options (also rare to find). This will definitely be one of our main stops from now on- super thrilled!
Shannon McClure
Loved our first visit! Everything about the experience was outstanding from the moment we walked in the door. Our server, Khalid, was magically always there just when we needed him but never overbearing. He was personable and knowledgeable about the menu.
Our food was amazing. And then price point for the quality was excellent.
We will definitely be back soon!
mactir academy
Great food, love all the vegan options. Fast, and super great service! We love having you in the neighborhood!
Kimberly Bautista
Menu selection is not the biggest, but pretty good items to choose from. Service was very fast for as busy as they were. I had the breakfast burrito, wonderful. All the food was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the 'Hair of the Dog' drink. Cute patio set-up if it wasn't raining!
Jake Gehler
They should change the name to "The WOW" because these burgers and fries were off the charts.
Even the turkey burger had great flavor.
Order was ready for pick up on time and the food traveled well!
Shelsea Lynne
wonderful restaurant, loved all the accommodations they give pups :) great food for us humans, but the pup ice cream that we ordered for our dog made her puke like three times in one night until her stomach was completely empty and she was dry-heaving.
our dog isn't lactose-intolerant either, she can enjoy pup cups from dairy queen or from the store with no problem.
her puking was extra troublesome because she was staying in my friend's dorm room with me for the night... so let's just say it wasn't fun having to watch her the entire night and not sleeping, lol.
lisa jensen
Great experience!! The white wine sangria was heavenly. Our server (don't know her name) was attentive, the vegan tacos scrumptious. We have visited The Howe half a dozen times, but nothing like this visit. We sat outside with the beautiful flowers growing and a welcome place for doggies. They even have mats for you dog to comfortably sit on. Win win for The Howe!
Eric Massie
Went as two in our party are vegan and 2 vegetarians wanting to try something different; it was really good. The jackfruit tacos were very nice. The coconut rice was tasty, but a little small. The Impossible burger was a little overcooked, but still good. The sidewinder fries were great! Even though a little pricey, we'll likely go back.
Cecilia Hauer
Service was very good unfortunately my poke bowl had great ingreadients but no flavor. The Marinade on the tuna wasn't enough to give flavor to the rest of the dish and the Avocado was not ripe enough
Eileen King
They've got a billboard that says "dogs welcome, humans tolerated," which seems about right. Food was fine but prices were steep for small portions of basic ingredients. Waitstaff seemed friendly enough but I spent 30+ minutes with an empty water glass that was never refilled, and I waited a LONG time in line for one of the two bathroom stalls. When a door finally opened, it was apparent that we'd been held up by a server who had clearly been sitting in the handicapped stall taking a phone break.
Overall, though, we got brunch near the airport, which was the goal. Nothing about our experience was horrible, but I don't see a reason to go back either.
Katherine Fines
This is a great neighborhood restaurant that also serves a wife variety of different foods. On this visit, we got three items: the tempura jackfruit, a tofu green curry rice bowl, and their version of a Rachel sandwich. These are very different items not often found in the same menu, but they were all done well. The food was delicious and we had a nice dinner.
I also like that this restaurant has a dog friendly patio. I don't have a dog, but I think it's nice to let people bring their dogs with them to dinner. I only wish the patio had more shade, then I would have sat outside, too.
Carmi Anderson
This place is great. So happy to have a classic bar/ restaurant in the neighborhood. Gluten free options listed on the menu. Thank you! Staff are very helpful. They even have a heated patio that is pet friendly! The effort they've put in to making this a place everyone can enjoy had paid off. That's why it's 5 stars.
Also, the prices are right for the quality of food which is good.
My favorite item on the menu is the Thai curry bowl. Also loving the brussel sprouts lately.
Diane Weider
First time experience😊
Our waiter was fantastic, helpful, and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The only draw back was that we wanted to eat outdoors but the patio was full. …
Bobby Schafer
Had a great time, took my dog to brunch here, and she very much enjoyed the dog menu. The spicy Benedict was good and the cinnamon roll pancake was dangerously delicious.
Amber Crowley
The wings were crispy and warm at delivery! Fantastic!
Dr. Nicole Zaret
Such a fun and enjoyable place to grab a bite to eat, hang out with friends or watch the game. Stopped in on a Saturday for brunch and was blown away by the food. The portions were great for the price and the food was yummy. Service was fabulous and we were seated right away. The staff was able to give us a good rundown of the menu and pointed out some of the favs.
Words has it they're putting in a heated dog friendly patio and I can't wait!! Would recommend The Howe.
Jojo Kuria
I really loved the polenta fries I had here. Perfect crispness and mild seasoning to go with the delicious seasoned sour cream. Glad I listened to my waitress and got the sour cream!! I normally can't stand sour cream, but this is a completely different taste. Definitely worth it!
We also had steak bites and while they were a bit too well done for us, we were surprised by how much we actually enjoyed the horseradish sauce it came with. Also worth it!
My waitress Nicole was amazing. I will be returning here for their brunch in the near future!

I have had the pleasure of working with some of the finest people in the food industry for quite some time now. Everyone at the Howe works incredibly hard, and without teamwork none of the work we do would be possible during this holiday season. But I would like to personally give a big shoutout to all of the expos. Our Leads, Ruby and Sophie lead flawlessly with distinct but effective methods. Ruby utilizes her bilingual skills to communicate with the kitchen correcting and solving any issues that may occur. She's also a really good listener. Sophie's approach is more collaborative. She works collectively shoulder to shoulder with her team fulfilling any role necessary, allowing her team and herself more opportunities to grow in any areas they may struggle in. Together these two have trained our awesome support expos. Zora, Ivan, StyxX, Liam, Josephine and myself. Working with everyone is so different because they’re all so fun and special in their own way. Zora is a fun and fabulous partner with gorgeous purple hair. I love when Zora makes desserts. She takes her time and goes the extra mile to give guests a beautiful presentation to compliment the dessert. Josephine, although you’re most likely to see her at the host stand she deserves her flowers as well. She’s the biggest team player and quite dependable. She’s a quick learner and basically a Jack of all trades or Jill, if you will. StyxX, is the funniest person you will ever meet. He sings like an angel and moves like jagger. He’s also incredibly good at stacking plates on his arm cutting food running time in half. Liam is a bartender in training, he’s our only bar back so I don’t get to work with him too often but every once in a while he makes an appearance. He’s like sonic when he runs food and I’ve never seen anyone pack a takeout order quite like him. Finally last but certainly not least is Ivan. Don’t be fooled by his quiet, stoic demeanor he’s actually a rockstar. He’s recently been working alone during the weekdays but handles the lunch rushes like a pro. I especially enjoy working with Ivan because he’s tall and can grab all the stuff on the high shelves for me. Also shoutout to our new expos Sam and Hannah, who I’ve only just met but I’m very excited to see what these two bring to the table. These people rock and are my favorite part of the Howe, and they deserve to be appreciated! 5/5
Jessie Behrman
Always the best quality service, our favorite place to bring out pup.
Breanne Naparan
Friendly staff, and they SPOILED our dog!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Karen Hansen
If your going to offer $5 off burger nights all day and all night on Mondays don't make your servers have to remember it. Program your computer to make it happen. Twice now your servers did not remember. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes me want to choose a different place next time.
Ian Hoxworth
Great vegan menu options! I got the fajita bowl without the creama. I forgot to add tofu this time, which would have pulled it together a bit more. 😅
Benjamin Angell
Been a few times, really great food and beer selection. While a lot of the broasted dishes are good The Howe does some amazing things with the basics like the chicken sandwich, and cheese curds are probably the best I've had. There's vegan options and even a three course meal for dogs, they even let the pups on the patio.
Nick Benish
Have only been here once. The place is a little cramped but the patio was very nice when the dogs stop barking. Food was decent and the drink selection was good as well. Will probably come back very soon.
Andrew Brown
Really good drink selection and delightful brunch food. Had the corned beef hash and the biscuits and gravy between myself and the better half. Both were really good. Prices were reasonable. Was very surprised and pleased to find two vintages of Surly Darkness available. Wicked good!
Nancy Hovland
I met friends at the Howe yesterday and really enjoyed it. The food was good and the beer selection is good! I will definitely go back. However, my one complaint has to do with the change I was due back after paying my bill. One friend and I paid our bills with cash and when the wait person brought it back, neither of us got our coin change. We asked about that, and she said, "Oh we keep that". Granted, it wasn't a lot of money, but I've never been in a restaurant that does that. I'm assuming the wait staff get the change, but that should be up to me! Short changing your customers is never a good idea. If and when I go back, I will certainly ask for ALL of my change back.
Pippa Dobbyn
While I haven’t been for a meal other than brunch (I love breakfast!), this place is awesome. I’ve been several times, waitstaff is friendly and helpful with food preferences and allergies. And I think the brunch menu is quite reasonable price wise. Plus it’s really fun to bring your dog!
Lisa P
Food is great. Hardly ever get my extra sauce in delivery. Their ranch is the best.
Greg LaBerge
Been for a few brunch visits now, and I have to say this place is excellent. Willing to work with food allergies, dog friendly (and welcoming!) and super fun. Staff is quite attentive and friendly, not much wrong here.
Literally the only thing I could knock off was the fact that my breakfast burrito had almost no meat in it, but was still so good I was still extremely satisfied.
Go here, it's great.
Tim Adams
Good place, lots of pull tabs, great beer selection, and a menu with a little bit for everyone. That also may be the problem, as there isn't anything that sticks out as a "go to" item. Kind of right tables/bar, but for a dive it's decent. Back patio is fantastic, which brought up my rating. Stanley's in NE (sister restaurant) has much better food.
Bryan Johnson
Got the whole damn bird takeout. Food was ready at said time and tasted great. Keep up the good work Howe.
Will Matthews
Some of the best fried chicken on the planet right here. They brine their bird and broast it to a golden crispy perfection. Mixed drinks have ample of alcohol in them, and tap lines were clean. Decent selection of appetizers. Amazing staff, who are happy to serve. Will eat again. Thank you!
Therese Linderholm
I have been here three times after work with friends. They have great pub food ( something for everyone) friendly staff, and its a good spot if you are looking for a place that your not going to spend 1/2 your paycheck on. They have a large selection of everything to eat and drink. Plus, dogs on the patio. Lots of nurses like this spot for after work.
Lindsay Strand
The food was good, and they have good vegetarian options. The beer selection is good as well. However, the lighting where we were sitting was harsh and bright, and the music was so loud. It looked like other areas around the restaurant had softer lighting, so maybe we have to try again not on a busy night to get better seating.
Pamalla mielke boyce
Loved sitting on the patio. I enjoyed the food and the dogs that came with owners.
The Howe has a menu for dogs! Also humans are served great food.
Judith Bartlett
Good food, quick turn around for pick up, super convenient when I live 3 blocks away! Wide choice of delicious food options.
Mariah Lowinske
I love the new Howe. I would never go to the last restaurant because there was always to much RIF/RAF hanging out. It didn't feel safe till now. The new Howe is beautiful. The drinks at the bar were great our bar tender made us a really delicious specialty mixed drinks. There are lots of beer options. The food is always satisfying. The wait is never long even when the restaurant is full. I would like to see more specialty cocktails going forward. We have been back now five times. Hope the new feel keeps up. Great renovation for the Howe neighborhood. They needed it.
Kent Sklarow
Waited 15 minutes to be seated, and another 10 for a server to arrive, only to be told that food service had been halted, and had been, for some time (this was at lunch, not at some ungodly late hour, mind you). None of the patrons near me, nor the people waiting at the door we're aware of this either. Generally a great place, but man this was some garbage service. Double bummed because I wanted some of that BCBS 14 on tap with my lunch.
I have edited this review back to four stars because this is in general, a Good Place.
Greg Meyer
Wow, busy place. Other than a bit noisy due to all the people (a good thing) it was a great evening. Well prepared food of the usual pub fare. Excellent selection of local craft beers. And our waiter was delightful and helpful. We sat outside in the tent (January!) and it was warm enough, although the chairs were cold. I'll be back.
Angie P.
So much great tasting food; awesome homemade coleslaw and homemade pickles. Breaded mushrooms. Everything was perfect. Wait staff was fabulous!! They even have a rewards card!!
Kim Traud
Staff was very friendly and the food was good and very plentiful. It was a little discombobulated when we arrived, the person doing the seating didn't seem to have things under control and seemed scattered. Once we were finally seated we were told we couldn't order for 15 minutes due to a switch over from brunch to lunch. Had we not had the confusion and the wait to order, I would have given 5 stars.
Abygayle Johnson
Love the food, cocktails and ambiance at the Howe! The bartenders and wait staff are amazing! I discovered this place just before Covid hit and have ordered take out to support this local business! The B. E. L.T. A is my fav and I get it almost exclusively along with the mashed potato’s and gravy, yum 😋!! …
Bread Wilson
Amazing staff and food as always! These are the Pacos! Order if your hungry!
Andrew Hoefler
Food is amazing but hands down the best servers in the state!! I’ve been coming here for 3 years and specifically sit at the bar because their service is AMAZING! Attentive, personality, engaging, patient.... everything you want in a bartender / server. 5,000 stars.
Jason Fleming
Fantastic food, accurate and delicious take out. Can’t go wrong!
Jacob Jungwirth
Cyrus was absolutely incredible! This spot was great because of them. The service was perfect, they have great beers on tap and the nachos were wonderful. All around perfect!
Stephanie Lampman
No complaints!! I've been to the Howe probably 30 plus times. Either stop in quick to grab dinner for the family when I didn't feel like cooking or bring the whole crew for breakfast. It's always busy (a good sign!!) But they ALWAYS acknowledge us right away, they're ALWAYS super friendly, it's ALWAYS clean (not easy when you're that busy) and the food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! I've seen this building change owers/names/food selections a few different times but I TRULY HOPE THESE GUYS STICK AROUND!!
Nina Bukowski
Nice place with friendly staff. Bartender was charismatic and helpful with tastes of beers and picking something to try on the menu. Vegan chorizo tacos were BOMB (and I’m not a vegan). Was bummed they didn’t have the ingredients for 2/8 “local cocktails”. Between the stereo and patron noise, expect it to speak in a louder tone. Place was packed by 6:30 so make it for HH!
Eric Grassi
Good food and atmosphere. Friendly servers. Not too expensive.
Edit: gone back a few more times after this initial review and each time was a very positive experience. Food is always great and reasonably priced. Servers are always pleasant. Definitely becoming a regular stop even though I live in Eagan.
Bob Aldrich
The Howe is a neighborhood restaurant with a bar. it's family and kid-friendly, and, when we're not being crushed by Covid-19, does a bustling business.
Their description of themselves--elevated American pub grub--is apt. It's bar food--but it's really, really good bar food. The burgers, fries, and (especially) the onion rings are excellent, very tasty, and fairly priced.
The broasted chicken (who doesn't love broasted chicken? And what the heck is broasted, anyway?) is crispy, juicy, messy--exactly how broasted (aka fried?) chicken should be.
The staff is friendly, and really working pretty hard to put out good food during the pandemic. They deserve your support. You'll be rewarded with a fine meal. Don't forget to tip.
Tony D
Great food, wonderful service and a good variety of food choices. Chicken and wild rice soup was delicious. Really good wings, nice and crispy!
Nicole
I have been here many times. Clearly I love the place however I need to say that The food is always amazing, the drinks are even better! And even through the tough times of the past year...employees seem happy and and the service has been toptop notch!
LARRY WOLF
I had a wonderful broasted chicken. My meal was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the coleslaw. It was dry with a bad taste.
Manny Bankston
What’s not to love about The Howe? This place is dog friendly, friendly staff and a good selection of beers on tap. Their food is great also! Definitely a go to for me and the dogs, or to just get out with my friends!
Bunni Metanoia
Love this place. It was great before I went vegan. I can still go bc they have AMAZING vegan options too! (Try the vegan chocolate cheesecake.... you're welcome)
Also last time I was in, Arianna (sp?) was my server. Y'all.... this lady is HEAVENLY. I had been having a ridiculously terrible, everything that could go wrong did so twice kind of day. Arianna made my week. She was authentic, attentive, and so thoughtful. I cannot sing her praises loud enough. The best!
Nathan Tauer
Great service. We got some food to-go and it was pretty timely, staff was very polite and willing to help. Food was A+. Definite recommend!
Natatia Frame
I love the staff! Food is amazing! Definitely one of my favorite Southside hangouts. I allways feel taken care. I am looking forward to summer evenings in the patio!
Melissa Adkins-Hempel
Fantastic taste and a wide range of things on the menu! We stopped by here because we were housesitting in the area and liked it so much that we ordered it again the next day. The location is excellent and the food is really good. I’ll definitely be returning soon.
mollan lj
I like this place! Great service! The food typically very good. Tonight however I had the fish tacos and honestly they were disappointing. The Howe is better than that. Not a good value considering the amount of food. Lacking in flavor. I will try again though. Past experience demands it!
Jessica Hanson
Food was fantastic, staff were friendly and the best part? They let you eat outside with your dog! They even have little mats for them to sit on, water dishes and you can order of a dog menu! So cute! My little buddy and I loved it!
Laura W.
Easy neighborhood spot with a good range of food and beer options. This breakfast burrito (vegetarian with spicy beans) was so good. I didn't regret not getting the meat-burrito option that I normally would have. The hashbrowns were perfect with the best all-over crunch, maybe in my life ever. Can't wait for a weekend I'm in town again to repeat this meal.
Tony Guterlet
There are several reasons why I gave The Howe a five star review.
My first thought is how satisfied I feel when I leave.
It is a classy place I am proud to take my girlfriend Holly to, meet friends there and have business meetings.
The service is exceptional. I met the manager Danni (sp) who has elevated the status of this establishment. The customer service she instills with a waitress like Tiffany--who treats and caters to sincerely make it a fine, dining or "just drinks" experience. The smile she brings lights up the room and makes sure the food is prepared the way I like and enjoy with all the adornments I desire.
The food is quality, nice well-rounded menu and professionally prepared. Servings are a little too large. But boxed and taken home.
The ambience of the place is amazing. Sports on many TV's. It's a fun place that brings in happy people that want a cookie and a smile.
I like it is not a problematic bar. I always get a classy experience there that keeps me coming back.
Outside deck is cool too. Pet friendly.
I do not know the management or owners.
I do not know Tiffany. If you go there...ask for her. You will give a five star rating too.
Sincerely,
Tony and Holly

Always great food and great service. I feel it is up to the business owner to pay employee benefits including health care. If you need to raise the prices on your menu to do that, ok. It is the owners choice to offer benefits. It is tacky to ask/expect your customers to pay your employee benefits by adding a separate fee.
Kristin Borchers
The food was decent. I got a burger and fries and was pleased with that. However, the service was real disappointing. I visited on a Saturday afternoon I believe and it was quite slow. I don't recall our server's name, but he was not friendly or welcoming towards us and almost acted annoyed. Not sure that I'll be back which is a bummer because I live close. Maybe we'll just order out.
Brian Jorgenson
Love the Howe kitchen. Great atmosphere and even better bar. My dad loves to go there when he is in town.
DJ DRU
The food was great, as was the beer selection, the service is probably the only reason I went give it five stars. Our waitress was very nice and helpful but it felt as if some of the other wait staff was not as good. We did have to wait a moment to be seated and plenty of staff was there and even looked at us but it wasn't until the manager noticed us that he led us to a table. Once again, I would recommend this place but I hope the staff overall improves.
Dave Losier
Friendly staff. Reasonable selection of craft beers. Closed early due to autocratic lock down carryover ( a la Gov Walz mandates). Reasonable pricing. Didn't ask about happy hours
Patrick Hendricks
Great and friendly staff. Came with a group of regulars, so I didn't want to say anything. However, a few of my Chicken Wings were underdone. Staff didn't check back after the food was delivered until after an extended period of time. All the food was delicious 👌 …
Adam
Great staff, tons of craft brews and a huge variety of food, all of which is very good. Come early for the discounted happy hour. Booths and tables available and although it can be very loud, it's a fun atmosphere.
Brandon Doan
I always get the wings (they are crispy and juicy) but my wife had the Juicy Lucy and it was very good as well. Friendly staff and fairly quick seating and service conidering we came on a Saturday night and it was packed. They also have a pretty good selection of beers on tap.
Matt Finnesgard
This is becoming my go-to stop after the dog park. They have a four season dog-friendly patio with a dog-specific menu. There are even yoga mats for the pups to lay on.
Oh...the people food and beer are amazing too! They have a variety of burgers, bowls, and main dishes. Check out the website for happy hour days, which can be amazing! Dogs and kids eat free on Sundays and Wednesdays (I think).
Jack Mazzitello
One of the gems in Longfellow, the Howe is a go-to any night of the week. Very glad to have a spot like this right in the neighborhood. You literally cannot go wrong with any food off the menu here. The beer selection is very long as well, however my only complaint is that the drink prices are on the pricey side. The food is on point, however, so I definitely recommend stopping in.
Hannah Victoria
It's not earth shattering food haha but it's pretty good and consistent quality which is great. Bonus, the coleslaw is great. I've even tried the buffalo cauliflower and it was pretty good. Would totally reorder.
Jim Emery
Our first time here today. We came early (4:30pm), so it wasn’t too crowded. Shiny clean and open interior. Very friendly and attentive server.
Monday is a $5 off burgers day, so that was a nice surprise. My wife had the All American Impossible Vegan Burger, nicely topped with vegan 1000 Island sauce and Creamy Chao vegan cheese (plus lettuce, pickles, and onions). She loved it. I tried a bite, and it was very tasty, not like many vegan imitation burgers.
I had the Brisket Mac & Cheese, an extravaganza of an entree, with jalapeño bacon, jalapeños, smoked cheddar and American cheeses, cavatappi noodles, topped with tasty brisket, crispy shoestring onions, and a light touch of barbecue sauce. Yum! Lots of different flavors and textures, but they all blended really well. I have long held that Revival’s mac-n-cheese is the best in town, but I now have a new favorite. Howe’s brisket mac and cheese was superb. The only challenge was that there was too much, so I took about 1/3 of the entree home for the next day’s lunch.
Howe’s cocktail menu also has some unique and interesting local options. I had the Kanye South, a nice mixture of Prairie Organic vodka infused with hot jalapeños, blackberry syrup, and a lime. I liked it. My wife had the Craft & Crew Old Fashioned, made with Knob Creek bourbon, brown sugar syrup, and cherry bark bitters, served on the rocks with orange and maraschino cherries. It was OK. For a $12 cocktail, they should use real Luxardo cherries instead of the cheap red dyed ones. She also said it would have been better with their Maker’s Mark instead of the Knob Creek. But it was not bad.
Overall, our first visit to Howe’s was delightful. With a load of other interesting looking food and drink options, including whole menu sections of Asian and Mexican rice bowls, soups & chili, and broasted chicken, I’m sure we’ll be back.

Super Yum! Lots of healthy, gluten-free options, and lots of love for local producers/brewers/distillers. The Buddha Bowl is great. The sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had.

Absolutely love this place. Great bar and restaurant with a great staff and atmosphere. Standout is the menu, which includes a wide variety of options for meat eaters, vegans and everyone in between. Plus: dog-friendly patio with food for them, too!

Bartender and manager were super nice- recognized it was our first visit. The food and drinks were amazing too. We had a great Valentine’s Day at the Howe and will be back!

Long time favorite. Went there when it was the Rail House. A little more upscale now. I was a little disappointed with my entre for the first time as the chicken wings were very greasy and over cooked. The brisket chili had excellent flavors, but wasn't hot.
Definitely will go back as this was their first miss in many visits.

Love the remodel, more open and inviting. Love that they have so many options of craft beer on tap, love the new broasted chicken (cant wait to try the chicken in waffles) and the old time favorite pretzel bites. Staff is very friendly and welcoming as well!

Great food! Great Pawtio treatment for the pets! They get a mat to lay on, water, and treats!!

This place is great. I love the drinks and the vegetarian options. I love eating on the patio during the summer.

This place has been here for years..under different names. Most recently the Rail. It was updated very nicely and renamed the Howe. It's a comfortable neighborhood place.
Plenty of beer selections..wine also.
The food is great. There is a year round dog patio..enclosed in a white tent.
One negative is the entrance door is in the front and not convenient to the parking lot in back.

Relaxed neighborhood bar with exceptional foods and an extensive tap list. Weekly specials are definitely worth checking out. Their specialty might be their broasted chicken but their burgers aren't easily forgotten either.

We came a few times when it was rail station and loved it, it's still great ! Here now for the doggy patio! What an amazing idea. Highly recommend, even if it's cold like it is today. Our Server is great and our pooch is happy :) can't wait to come back

I've been here a handful of times now, and the experience has always been great! Friendly staff and the food is really good. They also have a decent kid's menu and are always very accommodating of my kiddo. I used to visit frequently when it was the Rail Station, which I liked, but sometimes change is good. :)

In one word awesome. Got 1/2 broasted chicken dinner delivered . Was one of the best broasted chicken dinner I've ever had. Mashed potatoes and gravy were on point as well. Cole slaw was nice too. Highly recommended!!!

The food and atmosphere is good here but the food is extremely pricey for what you get. The bloody Mary is one of my favorite drinks here but also costs more then going down the street to another bar. The waits can get long here so go early if you don't want to wait in line. They allow dogs outside on their patio.

Great place for a drink during a college football game. And overall the food was great and all at reasonable prices. It can be quite loud, especially with a Gopher game on, so maybe not the best place for a quiet family brunch.

I was trying to go and have drinks and maybe an appetizer to catch up with friends... Took me a bit to decide. My boy friend suggested this place and I've never been here at night so never thought about it. I'm glad we picked this place our server Dani was amazing and fun. The food was delicious as always

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! I had an issue where a freak accident occurred and got a small cut from the dishware, but the staff there were so accommodating and respectful. I will definitely be back for that brunch

We waited for two hours for our food. We had a party of 8, after an hour and a half they brought out 2 plates, the other 6 of us were out of luck. The runner did said the others would be right out. 30 minutes later, we asked the person who brought out our food where the other meals were? She said" I have no idea." We figure they lost our ticket because, lots of people who were sat after us were served. Manger came out and said they were short handed. At this point we just wanted to leave. She told us she was sorry, some of us did have a beer. To make up for our two hour wait she told us the drinks were taken care of. The biggest issue our group had was, if you were short handed why didn't anyone say something when we ordered. Then only 2 plates came out, and lots of food was being served to other people. If you lost the ticket or messed it up just tell us. But two hours? And it was not busy. We had been told several times our food would be right out. But that never happened.
Update, I after this the management reached out to me and asked what they could do to fix the issue, and give them another chance.
I returned today and everything was excellent! I had the Ruben with french fries and it was excellent. The french Fries were some of the best I have ever had; they were amazing.
The Ruben was very good as well.
The service was quick and friendly. I was so happy I came back the next day with a friend. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be coming back. The manger was very professional when dealing with me after my first visit and she did a great job dealing with a difficult situation.

A vast improvement over our first visit. Originally came here for the first time during Open Streets Minnehaha last summer. It was a trainwreck. This visit was like a complete 180 from that one. We were seated promptly, server was attentive, and we got our food pretty quickly. I had the spicy broasted chicken sandwich, it was spicy but not too spicy and cooked perfectly. My wife had the Impossible burger and really enjoyed it. Glad this place turned it around, we'll be back!

This place has enthusiastic staff, delicious craft, a copious amount of beer, and an extensive and delicious menu. We had a great time. I would go back, but I live in Oregon. Maybe next trip.

Super fun spot for brunch with friends! Also love dinner menu! Can’t wait to bring my puppy to the patio when weather warms up! :) So excited to find a place where dogs are welcome and its fun for everyone!

We had breakfast there today and had mixed results. The food was mediocre and not exactly what we were expecting. The Bloody Mary drink was mostly just ice with a splash of blood Mary. However the staff was incredibly friendly and they had this years Surly Darkness on tap. Seems to be a good place for craft brews.

Ate this for lunch today and was very impressed. I'm a meat eater, but went with a vegan. They had excellent food options for both of us. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was brought out fast and really good. Oh would recommend this place to anyone passing by it.
Jared Little
My experience here was a positive one except for paying the bill :-) very friendly staff and very tasty vegan food. Like I said other than the price I had a wonderful experience here and as long as you don’t care to spend extra money this is a great place to go and eat.
Nellie
This place makes a mean impossible burger, as well as Korean barbecue tacos. It's near minnehaha so there are lots of people coming in and out, and is a great place for families or for just a meeting of friends. Great beer selection, too.
Mike Larson
Love this place after all the work they have put into it. Bit of a rough start but it's running smooth now. I'm a big fan of the broccoli cheese tots and the cheese curds. Very inclusive list of beers and I'm also a rewards member which is cool.

So many great vegan options! Great service with a spacious parking lot! I personally got the vegan chorizo tacos, and they were delicious. They also have great French fries, and this is very important!
Jade Rundquist
great food and great happy hour! can be a bit spendy but the food is so good and is worth it. they also have a dog menu which is so cute! 🤩
Dan Vagle
Had the longfellow burger and it was most excellent. I would highly recommend it.

So happy discover their selection of locally distilled spirits! I enjoyed a gin and tonic with Norseman Strawberry Rhubarb gin.
My friend and I enjoyed a Blu Fig burger ...and the Coconut Shrimp bowl. Very good!

Great menu, nice beer list, and plenty of seating options. I got the shi tuna poke bowl and it was fantastic and fresh. Nice chunks of tuna with just the right amount of sauce.

Oh glorious! Brussels sprouts appetizer is worth the trip (I dont like brussels sprouts). They make yummy mashed potatoes and gravy too. I got the mac and cheese brisket - yum.
Edit since my last visit. However! They don't know how to make a Cuban sandwich so don't get it. I was greatly disappointed. Their hamburger is just ok. The boneless chicken was much to dry.
Only thing I like there are the Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese brisket.
