Delicious tempura udon & lunch special. Both were a bit on the spicy side. The tempura was just tossed in the soup instead of serving it on the side and was soggy by the time it arrived. Would return though

The food was really delicious and so cheap! I got the sushi bowl with salad instead of rice, and it was just over $7 after tax. Also, the line was super long, but their ordering system is ridiculously efficient. They have someone continuously ask people for their orders in line, and by the time you get to the register, your food's ready! It took me like 5 minutes total to get my food from the time I got in the back of the line. Would definitely strongly recommend!

Great spot for lunch in Minneapolis. Sushi bowl lunch special was delicious and reasonably priced. Their sushi rolls are very tasty. Queue can get quite long during busy hours, but they ask for your order while you're at the queue and by the time you get to the cashier your order is ready to go.

Very good skyway sushi. 80% of the people who come for lunch each day order "the special" - a sushi bowl with rice, three kinds of fish, crunchy tempura and sushi fixings - for about $8. It's a crazy good deal. The rolls and nigiri are great too.

The efficiency of ordering when the lines are long during lunch is fantastic! The sushi bowl is hand down wonderful. Very filling and a much lower price than other lunch spots. I love the yum yum sauce and the freshness of the ingredients! The hot miso soup is a great meal complement!

Excellent prices, open during covid, extreme lines precovid but now it's fine. The lines were not overblown. Every thing is good. I had one time out of 50+ times I've been there the udon was overdone and inedible but otherwise 10/10. When an actual Japanese person makes sushi it is significantly different than some grocery store latino or Chinese buffet sushi chef

Don't be afraid of the long line - that simply means people love the food that much. The sushi is fresh and tasty. The ordering process is fast and efficient. The space is very small, so expect to take your food to go; individuals / parties of 2 may snag one of the few counter spots, knowing you'll have a crowd around you picking up orders. Enjoy!

Very impressed by the quality of the sushi I received. Oishizushi is a bit of a novelty in the Twin Cities, but I would place it up with any nigiri I've had in town in quality of the fish and rice. Also the service was very fast. They took your order as you advanced through the line and it was up quickly, most sushi orders were waiting by the time one reached the counter.

Incredible value for VERY respectable sushi. We had the caterpillar, sake avo, and winter rolls along with a #4 combination. Large, creative rolls that were right up there with the best I've had. Prepare for a slight wait over the lunch hour but the line moves quickly and it's definitely worth it! Highly recommend.

I really like this place, I wish it wasn't in the skyway so I could come more (I can only swing in if I am visiting my financial advisor or the dentist and have free parking - I don't work downtown). If I did work downtown, I would probably eat here once a week. Makes great takeout in the Summer to eat on my patio. The owner is very nice and the food very good.

One of my favourite places for lunch when I worked downtown. Especially for the Skyway, good food, good portions, for not a lot of money. Their sushi bowl is excellent and a great value because it comes with a miso soup. Spicy tuna rolls are huge (compared to other sushi places), udon noodles are good, and I really liked the Gyu Meshi (thinly sliced beef and rice bowl). Highly recommend trying this place. Don't let the long line intimidate you. It moves fairly quickly.

Super delicious, fresh food. The sushi bowl is a great quick lunch. 6.99, and it includes a bowl of miso soup. If you don't want the lunch special, there are different kinds of rolls you can order. Or if sushi isn't your thing, they also have some udon and other options such as katsu don! The line is long, but it's absolutely worth the wait!

a true gem in the skyway! if you have trouble finding, just look for the line (for good reason) that swirls around the Baker Center! I religiously order their Udon -- I think it is the best in town. I've also heard great things about their sushi as well. Judging by the casual conversations, this place has its regulars. What's even better is the staff learns your order and even starts to anticipate/prep your order while you wait in line. I not only appreciate the food, which is prepared incredibly fast for the wait, but I also love the incredibly friendly service. Thank you for always making our lunch a little brighter! Advice: come early or later in the day to avoid the line; also understand that seating is incredibly limited! On the same note, I would like to kindly remind those who are enjoying Sushi Takatsu at one of the very limited seats, to please be mindful of the space around you. It's rude to 'reserve' seats or sprawl across the countertop when there is literally a line out the door. Overall, I cannot give enough stars for food and service -- ten stars if I could!

By far the cheapest and most delicious Japanese food you can find in the city. The oshizushi, and all of their sushi in general are of utmost quality and large portion while being very affordable. Not a roll over $10. The udon and curry are above and beyond any other in the MSP area with a massive portion and incredible flavor - at a pricetag of less than $8. When dining takatsu, prepare to be filled to the brim with wonderful Japanese cuisine for $7-20 and expect leftovers if you hit the higher end.

This place is a great value! Everything is fresh and the prices are reasonable. My favorite part is how fast they are. Their staff knows most of the regular orders that their regulars make so your food is in hand as soon as you get up to the counter to pay. This helps when you don't have a lot of time during the lunch hour!

This place is great. The lunch sushi bowl is like a cross between a chirashi bowl and a a poke bowl and comes with miso soup. Well worth the $8. The only reason not to go there is that the line gets pretty long at lunch. Go with a friend and have a conversation in the hallway and you'll be good to go.

The onigiri was expertly prepared; compressed enough to stay together through a bite but also fall apart in the mouth. The maguro was rich and fresh with great color. This place is without a doubt the best Japanese cuisine I’ve ever had. The freshness and quality of their fish is exceptional, and all of their rolls are really affordable and generous portions! The great food doesn’t end at their sushi and oshizushi, though- they have excellent udon! The noodles are so chewy and the broth is always seasoned to perfection. Ever since I discovered this place a year ago, I’ve come here once (sometimes twice) a week EVERY week to get their udon. (In the picture is a bowl of their Curry Udon! Really really good!) The only reason why I’m able to get such crazy good food every week, even as a college student, is because their prices are super affordable! The icing on this amazingly delicious and affordable cake is the excellent and super fast service. This place seriously has it all! If you’re on the fence about trying this place, take my word for it and go. You’ll wish you tried this place sooner!
