Reviews of Spoon and Stable
P Pankaew
Absolutely love it! With all the quality service and food, it’s worth it and not pricey at all.
A lot of reviews mentioned Bison tartare, so we ordered it. It’s great. Oysters though look small for the price, they’re sweet and juicy. Pork chop is our most favorite dish of the night! It’s juicy and the sauce is sweet and slightly sour. White truffle gnocchi is great, the portion is bigger than expected. We ordered honey & cream cake, and ice cream & sorbets for dessert. We love both of them! They gave free cookies and candies after we asked for checks (would have ordered only one dessert if we knew that)

The best brunch spot in Minnesota! I got the pot roast as my main dish.. and it exceeded my expectations with flavor. The sauce used for this dish went perfectly with the roasted vegetables and meat. I also got the oysters and they’re delicious and fresh! Aaaand the vanilla crepe cake is a MUST! The customer service here is phenomenal and they always ensure customers are satisfied with their dish. Make your reservation ahead of time and you won’t be disappointed!

I thought the food was good. The portions are not too huge so just keep that in mind. The olive oils they use for bread dipping was so fresh and delicious. I had the ink spaghetti and really enjoyed the cooked peppers in the sauce. They are respectful of food allergies. But the salads we had really would have been over the moon if I could eat the cheese. I had the rhubarb sorbet for dessert, and I think that was my most favorite thing the whole night... except for their keepsake cold cider in a bottle!

We went in for a date night, little bit of a wait to be seated for our reservation however, it was well worth the wait. We both enjoyed the tortelli and I also really enjoyed the “London calling” cocktail. Overall our experience with everything was exquisite.

First time here has a seat right by the prep area. Cool experience being able to see all the effort it goes into one's meal. Fantastic cocktails and delicious dinner. I had wagu steak and the Mrs had duck. The spinach side with cheese curds was interesting and the wife loves the mushrooms.

We went to Spoon and Stable for our anniversary and sat at the Chef's table. We loved being able to watch the food being prepped! My partner commented that it was like watching a cooking show!! We loved everything we had and they were very mindful with my gluten allergy, even providing gluten free bread!

I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! It is for sure my favorite in Minneapolis. I love how they have unique flavors and food in general. The sun-choke soup was so insanely good. The wagyu is such a good price for how amazing and good quality it is, I can’t get over it. Every dessert I’ve ever ordered from here has always been wonderful as well. I love coming here and can’t wait to return.

A pleasant way to begin the end of the year. The sauces were salty for my taste, but the flavor integration was still delectable for each plate.
Chocolate pavlova was outstanding: delicate orange blossoms, tiny but bold ginger bits, refreshing almond ice cream, not too sweet pavlova. Super nice confluence of textures, flavors and temperatures - soft and chilly ice cream, crunchy pavlova, chewy ginger, fragrant orange, dark, thin chocolate, etc.

What an exceptional experience. We were lucky to be able to have snagged a last minute reservation with the help of Amex. The struggle to make that happen was definitely worth it! From the arrival to our departure, every aspect of our stay was curated with detail and attention. The duck breast was exceptional. The cocktails are equally impressive with generous servings of each.

We walked in and were able to get seats at the lounge. The knowledgeable and friendly server provided drink suggestions we enjoyed. We ordered the bison tartare, corzetti, and two desserts. We loved every dish. It was a birthday celebration as well, and they gave cotton candy on the house, which was very sweet. The cute box of mini desserts at the end is always such a treat as well.

Amazing dining experience. Be sure to make a reservation. I sat at the “chefs table” which is a bar top facing the kitchen area. It was like dinner and a movie! The chefs are artists with everything they do. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They knew so much about the menu and how things were prepared. I had the sunchoke soup, and the pheasant breast. It was delicious. Everything was prepared perfectly.
A fresh personal sourdough loaf was served with fresh butter as well.
It was a lovely experience. I would definitely return.

Found about this spot while listening to the podcast Bartender at Large and they interviewed Jessi, the Bar Manager at Spoon and Stable.
We sat at the bar and everything was amazing. All the staff was great and friendly.
On top of that, all the food was amazing and we can't wait to come back in the summer.
Kate Wagner
All 3 of us really enjoyed our experience at Spoon and Stable. The mushroom soup with the crunch from the wild rice was amazing. Our entrees did not disappoint!
Service was outstanding and atmosphere was very cool. I will totally recommend.

Been difficult get in but had a last minute opening around 830 which was almost ment to be.
The dry aged duck was really delicious. I also had the beef tartar was way too salty for my liking it was disappointing as a starter, didn't bother to continue eating after a bite. The dungeons crab pasta had great flavors but lack sauce and pasta was undercooked, could have used 3 more minutes for sure it had a crunch in every bite lol
They have many food selections to choose from on the menu so I am going to give this place another chance to redeem itself. Service was spectacular and decor was spot on. Try the duck, it's amazing!

This restaurant had interesting and fun ideas for food that tasted good, but the only exciting food i has was the Gnudi. I think we tried just about one of everything on the menu and it tasted good, but I'm not itching to go back. The mushroom soup was a favorite for the other ladies if the table but it tasted a bit more like gravy to me which isn't my cup of tea. We also has some very good oysters which had AMAZING in house made habanero hot sauce. The sauce has some great flavor with a good heat, i highly recommend keeping the sauce for the entrees even though it's just meant for the oysters. The duck was pretty tough which was a bit disappointing. I had a piece of grissle going through the duck which made it tough to bite through and I ended up chewing and spitting out. We had an excellent service, my dad was joking that she took the mint out of our drink (we set it on the table from our zombie drink) too early because that was the only vegetable side he was having
She felt bad and came back with more, which made us feel bad cause our sarcasm didn't come across. She was so wonderful and so sweet.
Iqmat Adediran
From the ambiance, to the service and the food was all amazing. I love the idea that they have GLUTEN FREE options.
It was packed but not surprised as it was a Saturday night. I got space at the bar. However, it was still great and I had a very good experience.
I had the Bison Tartare for starters, then Spaghetti Nero for the entree and finally, the Apple Pie Ravè for dessert. My partner had the Pheasant Breast, which was also amazing.
Overall, the whole experience was amazing and I will definitely recommend

We finally got a reservation for dinner after attempting several times when we were in the city. The atmosphere is gorgeous, a beautiful bar, dining area and the seating by the open kitchen is amazing. The drinks are definitely a standout, bartenders are top notch and their selection of cocktails is creative. Our server was very nice, but overall service didn't match the high end prices. Standouts for us were the Scallop Crudo and the Monkfish chop. We didn't care for the sweet corn gazpacho unfortunately. We all tried it, but it tasted more like peppers and tomatoes, the corn flavor didn't come through at all. Three of us ordered the Mafalde pasta. Mine was lukewarm, another was almost cold and the third hot. Our server didn't come back to check on the entrees until we were half way done, but at $27 a plate, that was disappointing. Overall it didn't feel like it quite lived up to all the hype.
Roman Shteyn
Amazing high quality food. Drinks are also off the hook. Came for 2 days for work, saw good reviews! Super friendly staff! But it all about the food. Oysters off the hook. Best I tried, and I been in 72 countries.
Natalie Fitzsimmons
Beautiful presentation and fantastic cocktails, however, everything we ordered was overly salted (the roasted beet salad, the vegetables accompanying the pork chop, as well as the crispy potato with the Denver steak). The whole wheat sourdough bread served was slightly overdone and rather disappointing.
The atmosphere, decor and open kitchen are trendy and service was ok but it’s overall loud and tables (if you’re not in a group) are extremely close together. We tried desperately not to hear the entire conversations next to us but was difficult.
T. Haima
If Gavin didn’t create this restaurant, Minneapolis wouldn’t eat. I’ve been many times now and each dining experience is the type you talk about for three hours after trying to figure out what they put in the food to make it that good. Extensive wine selection and staff that loves their job. The gem of the Minneapolis food scene.
Aronda Reichelle
Spoon and Stable was a wonderful dining experience! We sat at the chefs bar and watched the magic unfold! The staff was lovely and accommodating. The food was incredible! If you have the opportunity please make a reservation! You will not be disappointed at all!
Davide Jensen
This was our first time dining at a downtown "fancy" restaraunt and it was well worth it! The atmosphere and staff were super polite and our server made us feel very comfortable with how the menu works and how much food comes in each selection. I recommend the ocean trout as an entree. Non alcoholic drink of choice is the "Tonic". We will definitely be back.
Mustafa Bulent Igdelioglu
Had dinner Friday night at the chef's table. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Started with striped bass ceviche. Was not sure about the cocunat when ordering, but it has a great flavor with lychee and heart of palm with just right citrus touch. Loved it. Black cod was the best cod i ever taste with black rice turmeric and cury. Spaghetti pero was also really good. Definitely suggest it.
Nicole Bissey
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is lovely. It's great that they stay open until 12 on weekdays! I had the green salad, the vegetarian pasta selection, the daily drink of the day, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was excellent, but I'll think about those Brussels for the rest of my life 😂
Blake Nhul
We went to Spoon and Stable for a date night. I apologize for not having pictures of drinks and other foods, but the most notable things I have kept pictures of. I've never had sturgeon before and I have to say, it was not what I expected! The texture was different and it was cooked well as well. The sturgeon was the main star of the show.
Food: pretty good, I'd say 4 out of 5
Environment: 5 out of 5
Service: 5 out of 5
Is it worth it? I'd say it's worth it to give Spoon and Stable a try. For me though I think there are a lot of American fine dining restaurants and it feels like just "another one". That doesn't take away from how good it is though!! With that in mind I would give it a 4 or 4.5.
Samy Galvez
Had an amazing evening here. The wine recommendations were great, and the food quality was, of course, excellent. The ambiance was also great. What can I say? Come experience it yourself!
Sarah Bacon
Excellent food paired with excellent service. It was a great night out! Definitely a little pricey, but I would say it's worth it, if you have a little extra spending money..
Amelia Szeto
the bison was amazing, and lamb was pretty good as well. there were lots of flavors involved and loved it all! however, the cheese curd and spinach cream was really salty, overall it was pretty good.
Nader Tavaf
It's a fantastic experience. The food, the service, the ambiance, loved everything. It's one of the best places to dine in the twin cities. The wagyu steak and lamb two ways are delicious as well as Alaskan halibut. The desserts: honey and cream cake is the best, the blackberry gateau and peach & cream are also great options. I couldn't find anything to criticize, except you need a reservation well in advance.
Nick Lorch
Wonderful experience! If you're a food channel fan and looking for a fun date night; reserve a spot right in the action! Watch the culinary artists at work & be served kitchen-side while enjoying an amazing espresso or cocktail!
Gloria K
We lucked out getting a last minute reservation. Foods and drinks were awesome. We tried a variety of of cocktails and food in options. Recommend the London calling cocktail. The bison tartare, the new trial crab dungeness dip Dessert were not our favorite.
april zheng
Very tender and flavorful pheasant breast, the spiced pumpkin custard is so seasonal and tasty. Enjoyed the meal here as usual 👍 highly recommended
Rohit Prabhakar
Had a great dinner with some colleagues at a private event. Brady was the guy who take care of us. As I am a vegetarian he ensured that every course was tailored to my diet restrictions. Amazing service, food and taste.
Service: 5 stars
Presentation: 5 stars
Quality: 5 Stars
Vegetarian Friendly: 5 Stars
Jen Roberts
Both the bar and main dining area are worth a visit! The space has such a great vibe and the staff are very friendly. The cocktails are fantastic and fun and the food is delicious (try the fries and aioli!)
Raul Suarez
Perhaps the best food in the Twin Cities. Each plate had the perfect balance of ingredients and incredibly rich flavor. Everything highlights in each bite. The drinks are great and have a nice original touch to classic cocktails. Loved this place
Ani Gholkar
Brunch hours on Sunday.
It was good food. OK experience.
Need to go back for dinner to review the feedback again.
Have been here 4 times now. Reliable place for fine dinning. Personally, I want to see some more variety
Catherine D
1st time eating at Spoon and Stable. It did not disappoint. I had the Alaskan halibut, very good. My friend had the duck and she loved it. I did have a dessert, the sorbet, just the right size. The server was excellent and gave us good recommendations.
Caitlin Pritchett
Get the gnocchi!
The corn gazpacho is delicious, with a little bit of heat. The Chocolate pavlova was a nice treat as well.
Nikki Cody
Food was overall really good, but was a bit heavy on the salt. Portions were small for the price for the main meal. Really enjoyed the French fries and the portion was very generous.
Kevin Connor
Creative menu with excellent spins on classics like leg of lamb. Very attentive but not overbearing service. Portions are small, tapas like in size but becuase of the great execution i felt full.
Chong Xiong
The service was great, food were amazing, once we got our food. The service came to asked how was everything. It was a busy place. The restaurant was awesome.
Rory Prodoehl
Atmosphere is light and friendly. Drinks were excellent. Food was divine. Service was superb. Definitely an amazing experience.
Stevi Nikole Schwermann
Hands down, best food experience in Minneapolis! Everything was delicious and beautiful, and the service was top notch! Thank you for a wonderful evening and thank you for making my birthday an incredibly special event!
Uzma Ali
The food was alright. I got the halibut and husband got the pheasant. The fries were realllllllly good. The service was amazing. The cotton candy was 💯. It's expensive though and the restaurant adds a 21% hospitality fee which is NOT a tip for your server so for a four people meal with appetizers and desert, expect the check to be about $3-400.
Service was awesome. I wanted cotton candy and our server promptly told me it was my birthday 😉 and brought it out.
T Bey
Great restaurant and atmosphere.
Business casual.
Use Tock for reservations - which I usually don't like, but it was easy for me to get a table this time around.
Valet parking is easiest - ride share makes most sense, esp in the cold.
Food is excellent. Well prepared with beautiful presentations.
Hamachi crudo was generous and tasteful.
Pasta and lamb expertly cooked and seasoned.
A little difficult for vegetarians.
Service is constant and well covered by many staff.
More expensive than it should be (I would expect a wine pairing or a Michelin ⭐ for 170+/person total), maybe mostly due to automatically tacked on 21% hospitality charge (not gratuity) - it was ok with me, just a heads up for others.
I enjoyed my time/meal at the counter and would plan to come again.
Sara McClendon
Kind of disappointing. Food was beautifully plated, and the staff were very nice and accommodating. No vegan options right off the menu, but there are vegan adjustments of main dishes. Food was good, but not worth the money at all. I do understand the restaurant is a higher end one, but I still feel like the taste and portions didn’t justify the price.
Ashley Hernandez
What a beautiful experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was so unique, delicious and you could tell it was made with care.
Fayth Nystel
This place is absolutely amazing. Very high class and upscale but yet at the same time very modern, simple, and fresh. The service was impeccable! I was absolutely blown away by the whole experience yet alone the food as well. I would highly highly recommend the duck or the potato gnocchi pasta. Additionally, I would recommend the honey cake and beeswax ice cream for dessert! Overall this was an amazing fine dining experience with food from an amazing chef!
Weyburn Wasson
I went in with great expectations. The service was superb, the cocktails were inventive and extremely good. I was quite disappointed with the food. The best thing was the Pasta Nero which we ordered for the table. It was very tasty with generous amounts of seafood. My husband ordered the Wagyu beef which was inexplicably tough. My son ordered the duck confit which he said was merely ok. I ordered the halibut which was slightly underdone and was smothered in a too strong sauce which completely masked the delicate flavor of the fish. Desserts were fine.
Overall, it's doubtful we will return. There are many better restaurants in the cities.
Julia Yocum
AMAZING VARIETY of gluten free dairy free options. Super cool history too, that this place was set up for booze smuggling during the prohibition after it was an actual stable in 1906! The BEST food
Cynthia Farley
Most delicious menu. Everything was so good. We've ordered and picked up many times during the last year, first time sitting in for dinner. Service was great, will definitely return.
MOE Saadi
Spoon and stable was an amazing place, very nice ambience, amazing service(Ambrose , thank you), and best of all ... the food.
A Combination of extremely nice presentation and flavor, truly a wonderful experience.
We had the Bison tartar as an appetizer followed by the famous spaghetti Nero, and for drinks we have had their amazing margarita.
We will be back :)

This unique restaurant has delicious food and atmosphere served in a 1907 renovated horse stable. My husband and I made a reservation a day before and we were quickly show to our table as we let the hostess know. The complimentary bread was warm and served with cottage cheese? My husband ordered the roasted monkfish and I got the pork chop. The arugula and ’nduja were really flavorful and complimented well with the monkfish, which had soft lobster bite to it. The pork chop was great with its tamarind glaze and the curry jus.
The service was good but it was nothing special. The waitress was friendly but besides from the usual pleasantries, she didn’t seem to put effort into making our experience special.
We had a great time overall and would recommend to other people to try.
Matt Burnette
We were seated at the bar on a very busy night and started off our meal with a drink. I had the sazerac which had such a unique flavor and ordered the bison tartare for an appetizer and then the capatelli for dinner. Everything from the service to the food was top notch.
James Kim
Interesting and varied menu. Good choices of wine. Great place for a late night bite.
corina tarcau
I'll start the review with the bartender. He knows how to make a Negroni and make conversation flow. We had the arancini (which seem to be a staple in many MN restos) which were perfect bar snacks and the spaghetti Nero. The noodles had a pleasant taste but not a big fan of raw tomatoes on top, gave it a weird acidity. My entree was the duck, which was cooked to perfection. Must get the honey and cream cake!
melissa flaming
The fries and wings were delicious. We sent the saffron gigli back because the taste was off and the pasta was undercooked, but they reacted kindly and efficiently. The other two entrées we got, the black cod and the roasted grouper, were awesome. My entrée suggestion is the black cod 100%. The ambience was exactly what we were looking for and they have delicious spirit free cocktails for those who are foregoing alcohol, but still want a quality beverage.
Monish
I always wanted to visit this place since it is one of the top 100 best restaurants in America. The food was decent but not the best. I ordered cocktail and some chicken pasta it was good
Kelsi Kinsman
Absolutely loved this experience. The food, the aesthetic, the servers, everything was spot on. The chef absolutely nailed it, hats off to you. Our server was professional but still had personality which is huge, awesome job. Will be coming back every time I'm in Minneapolis. Thank you Spoon and Stable.
Jen Xiong
Wonderful brunch. The breakfast special (eggs, hash brown with sausages) was delicious! It was extremely flavorful and wasn't just the typical breakfast items! The wagyu steak was good but would have preferred that it was more tender. The steak bacon was great as well! Besides the food, the customer service was top notch. Our server was attentive and relayed our requests to the chef in a timely manner.
The cotton candy ice cream was the perfect mix of sweet, dry, cold and crunchy all in one. I can't wait to come back!
Thomas Garcia
Fantastic food, and the best cocktails and desert I think my partner and I have ever had. We couldn't make a reservation for tonight but sitting at the bar/lounge was a very nice experience. The staff was also incredibly polite and helpful. If I'm in the area again I will definitely be stopping by!
Markus De
To me, this is the best place for dining in Minneapolis. Everything we had was fantastic. Very creative, inventive cuisine inspired by local ingredients and always down to earth while very elaborated. The cocktail selection is insane, and they have great bartenders. Simply a great place to hang out and come back often.
Joe Antony
Phenomenal atmosphere and incredible cuisine. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in MN, if not my favorite. Really fun drink and mini food menu at the bar (which is beautiful). Staff is very nice and I have yet to have a bad dish after 6 visits. It can be fancy or casual but is a bit spendy. That said, it’s always worth it. I’ll be back soon!
Elizebeth Mohan
A great restaurant. The staffs are courteous. The ambience is excellent loved it.Definitely a Michelin star experience for a great price. The food was absolutely delicious. Also lots of cocktails to choose from.Don’t forget to try out their dessert section you will be mind blown. I highly recommend this place for any occasion.Make sure to book an early reservation as they are usually fully booked.
jjayb927
Not cheap but exceptional. Service courteous. Food solid 9 out of 10
Would return definitely need reservations or stuck to bar. Walk in for me but it was good regardless of where you sit. Had the lamb.🔥 Mixed greens good wine honey and cream cake so good. Just bring your wallet if you wanna eat good you will spend . 2 of us spent 350 including the tip. Enjoy
Devanney Manoz
Make a reservation! I did not because most restaurants don't anymore, but we ended up sitting at the bar because all dining room tables were reserved and the seating near the bar was full. They open their reservations a month in advance, definitely call! Food was good, could tell it was good quality, but the flavors weren't what I was expecting. Paid a lot but not the best dinner I've ever had, hence the 4 stars.
Jis David
Great place. Clean and well maintained. Friendly and professional staff. Call in and make a reservation. Great foods to select from. The aesthetics is also good. Food is presented well. A little expensive.
Julian Jones
Unchanging excellence. Die-hard football fan who got to see that Vikings-comeback, and eating here was yet again the highlight of my trip. This is Boloud-expectation -exceeding cooking, and the service is equally warm and buttery. This is possibly the best restaurant in the country. Respect this place like it holds Michelin stars. It deserves them, and I absolutely adore this place, and good lord this place is a magnificent representation of what’s right in dining.
Katie Collins
Amazing food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed their replacement of the tipping structure. Rather than having Employees rely on tips, they ensure fair wages by adding a 21% Hospitality Charge. (We usually tip 20% anyway) The service was AMAZING so it is well worth the money - and I think this model is a great way to ensure fair pay for the high quality service.
utchgirl
The ambiance is wonderful. The food is good. Service is decent. It was a decent night out.

We were very early for our reservation but were given a seat at the bar. The staff were amazing. Attentive, friendly and very on the case. When out allotted time came, we were given a lovey table. The food was superb. Great arrancini, lovely oysters. The mushroom soup was incredible. The veal, and the pork chop, in fact, every thing was incredible. You need 3 things for a restaurant. Great food, great staff, and a great environment. This place had all three. If I could give 6 stars I would.
Negma Farah
I was lucky and able to get a reservation because they’re usually fully booked. They were very welcoming (we arrived a bit late). The ambiance is romantic and sweet. Next time, I would love to have a seat near the chefs area. My attention kept diverting to over there (as I love to cook myself).
The food was great and I’m not usually a duck fan but I had some of the duck and that was the best duck (that didn’t even taste like duck) ever. We will definitely come back. Also it’s pretty cute how they offer a stick of cotton candy after your meal 😍
Bret b
My overall review is a 3.5/5 for this particular trip. We hadn’t been to SS in many years and decided to spend our 5 year anniversary dinner here. When booking our dinner, it specifically asked if we were celebrating anything, so I submitted it being our anniversary. Unfortunately, this was not acknowledged at all. We weren’t expecting a lot, but a small glass of champagne or a dessert would have gone a long way. What’s a $15 gesture when we spent almost $300 on our meal. Just expected a bit more from a fine dining experience. We also waited 1 hour to get our first pasta appetizer, it was a busy Friday night so I know that is part of it. The food was great, especially the waygu!
Rachel Cullett
Everything is delicious, and the service and atmosphere are great! Probably one of the best meals I've ever eaten. We got the dry-aged duck and halibut in coconut broth. Dessert and cocktails also excellent!
Abdur Rakib
Absolutely amazing. The pork had a brilliant glaze and the lamb was perfect. Everything was beyond our expectation. Henry was our server and gave fantastic advice. The open kitchen atmosphere allows you to see how hard the chef and staff work at making your experience wonderful.
John Eckhardt
Make sure to get reservations. It was packed on a Wednesday night.
The food used a lot of strange sounding ingredients, but it was very tasty. Portions are on the small side for restaurants, but that's fine. You get to try more things and have room for dessert. Which you should make room for.
Kevin Vi
The food was overpriced for that it was. Some dishes were good while others were bland. I didn't quite care for the butter being served on rocks. I would not choose to come here over Bar La Grassa where you get more and better food for about the same price and people know to dress a little nicer. Some people were dressed like they were going to a sporting event.
Our server was a little scary. I'm scary, and I thought they were a little scary.
The decor is just so bland with a slightly Nantucket coastal vibe. The mirrors allow you to see what people in the booths are eating but not see the rest of the restaurant. Weird design choice there.

I was here this month (October 2022) for a private event with friends. The wait staff was very attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere wasnt too busy to distract you from your meal and conversation, which is the true art of the room. The drinks were delicious too, and came in a timely manner each time. I would definitely recommend going there!
giuseppina stella
Food was excellent, however service was okay. The server offered me a drink and asked what i liked. I said i didnt like gin but I’m fine with tequila and vodka. We agreed on vodka but ended up bringing me a gin drink but that got switched out. She also forgot one of the food items we ordered and seemed rushed. I did get a cute little dessert for my birthday tho. I would still recommend this place because the food, especially the spaghetti Nero was delicious.
Gina E
Food was incredible.... waiter not so much. If you ask for separate tabs he will have attitude and leave you to split it up on your own. Guess that's not part of the job anymore. It is really too bad because it is the service that will keep us from coming back. Apologies to the owner of the restaurant because the food was incredible, but you need to know who's working for you. You can't charge an additional 21% on top of the menu prices outside of gratuity for shotty servers.
Melissa Schumacher
Food was very good as was the service. Noise level was a bit obnoxious. Why have music on when the echo chamber of a space with hard surfaces is already making too much noise? Not a great place for conversation with your date. In my case, husband. I know so many restaurants are like this now. I would love to find a quiet place. Quiet can be busy too.
Naïcha Dorville
Finally scored a reservation to this restaurant for brunch. Food and ambiance did not disappoint! Had the GF waffle and bacon steak. My partner had the chicken sandwich. Absolutely amazing! Will definitely return for dinner!

I've been to Spoon and Stable 2x before and I was very happy with the food and service. However, this 3rd time around I was very disappointed with the food. My black pasta dish was salty, and my friends’ foods were also salty too. There were 4 of us and each of us had ordered a different dish, yet, all tasted salty. It was a disappointing experience for my friends being that it's their first time eating at Spoon and Stable. This time around I has to say the food was not worth the $$$$.
Oscar Frohlich
Incredible food here. Had such a nice brunch.
Milad Shaddelan
Our waitress was great. Also, besides the amazing food and ambiance, I loves the cotton candy 😁 …

Fantastic meal! Every course was delicious as well as the drinks. The service was also top notch. I started with king crab tartine, then had a Spoon and Stable classic pot roast with foie Gras and finished with another popular restaurant dish honey cream cake. All were excellent. The restaurant is definitely high end, but feels casual. Had a great night and definitely want to go back again and try some new dishes. Definitely clear why the chef won a James Beard award for best chef in Midwest.

Came here for dinner and I was blown away! My boyfriend has been here so often that he's tasted everything on the menu hahaha! I got the porkchop and it was so savory and juicy. I also love their non-alcoholic drinks, so anyone who doesn't feel like alcohol will be pleasantly surprised!
The atmosphere was lovely at night. The lighting was dim, but not so dim that you couldn't read the menu or see people around you. It can be a little loud, but our waiter still heard all of our juicy scary stories, so I guess it wasn't as loud as I thought it was. :)
If anything, I wish they had a seasonal menu as well! I'm excited to come back to try the rest of their menu, but my boyfriend has tried every entree. It'll be less fun if only one of us is surprised. ^^'

Incredible staff, lovely atmosphere and delicious food! This location stays busy so be sure to book your reservation in advance-100% worth the wait though. I’m looking forward to dining here again!

Excellent food, taste and quality are superb, not to mention the extensive gourmet menu. Plenty of vegetarian options, which I really liked. Tip: Sitting at the Chef’s table is guaranteed to get you tasty tidbits through the course of the meal!

The food was an 8/10 but the service was not exceptional for the high price. My dinner, the duck breast, took 40 minutes to be served. I love the place but expected more from a restaurant that receives such high praise.

Please for the love of God, change your menu more frequently.
Great service, great staff. Resting on its laurels at times, but a neighborhood institution.
Go there for drinks only, then dinner at Demi if you really want to be blown away.
Interior booths look haggard yet cozy.

The place itself is stunning and the staff were all kind and attentive. But I found the food a bit disappointing, the sunchoke soup had a beautiful texture but it was sweet enough to be a dessert, and the bass was overpowered by the ham.
There's still a tip line despite the 21% charge?
Otoki Sicily
Our favorite server Miho took great care of us with amazing recommendations.
Highlights were the beet pasta, creamed spinach, seafood pasta, arancini, and scallops.

I can’t say enough about this restaurant. The vibe was fantastic, the service was great, and most importantly the food was incredible. I had the dry aged duck breast. I’ve had a lot of amazing food, this duck was top tier. It was absolutely perfectly seared and tender, and the black eyed peas were perfectly tender as well. My wife had the lobster gnocchi, which was obviously homemade. The gnocchi melts in your mouth, and the lobster was not tough or chewy. I also had the gin and tonic, which was not just a plain cocktail. It was flavorful and refreshing, with watermelon lemon and cucumber. And the desserts! Honey cream cake and a rhubarb&raspberry tart cake. Literally the best dessert we’ve ever had. And I do not say that lightly. The tart cake was rich and delicious, and at the same time refreshing and light, a balance that is not easily pulled off in a dish. If you want some great food in a great environment, you will not be disappointed here!

went for our anniversary and it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. duck tacos are amazing and so is the waygu steak! they went above and beyond, a complimentary side dish and dessert for our anniversary and even got us pastry’s from across the street before we left! will definitely be going back!

My wife and I had a great experience at Spoon & Stable. The location is a bit away from the big streets of Minneapolis, at least during the evening or to people unfamiliar with the city. The street parking is limited and their lot isn't very big but having a valet priced around the same as nearby parking options, was very helpful.
My wife and I arrived a bit early so we had to wait for a couple of minutes but they were able to seat us surprisingly quick. The restaurant had a rustic design that really appealed to me. The dining area seemed crowded at first but when you get to your table, there was enough room to get comfortable and although you can definitely hear your neighbors, they weren't close enough that they could accidentally bump into you as they're leaving or getting up (it's happened quite often in my past experiences at other restaurants). The waitress was amazing, definitely one of the best experience we've had. She was very attentive yet, transparent that she didn't disturb us. We started off with a couple of cocktails, half a dozen of oysters, and their bison tartare. The freshness of their oysters and the delicious sauces that you can add, were very refreshing. We ended up ending the evening with another half a dozen. The bison tartare was amazing. The seasoning that it was tossed in, was irresistable. Especially with the chips, they complimented the tartare perfectly. My wife chose their Wagyu Denver Steak and I had their Spice Crusted Lamb Leg, we also ordered a side of Creamy Spinach. The steak was tender and delicious but I only had one bite, didn't want to steal her meal. But the lamb leg was very satisfying as well. The curry-like sauce was a bit strong for me but the bits of fresh vegetable and herbs really helped refresh the palate. The lamb was well seasoned and tasted delicious by itself. The creamy spinach was good, the cheese curd was a tad salty. It's typical for cheese curd to be salty but I was hoping they may have balanced it since it was sitting in a plate of spinach with cream. The food was great and we did refused dessert but like I mentioned above, we ended the evening with another plate of oysters.
The food was delicious and the customer service was top-notch. We will definitely return.

One of the best meals I’ve had in the US for sure. Everything was made with care and the different elements came together so well. Good place to people watch too.

Spoon & Stable is easily some of the best food I've had in the cities. The ambiance is fancy, yet still has an inviting homey feel to it. I really love their open kitchen concept. It also works great for showcasing their wonderful pastries during brunch. Unfortunately I've been in so many times that I'm not sure I can recommend a favorite dish, they're all good. S&S also rotates their menu every few months, so you never know what you'll get. If you're in the area you definitely should stop in, it's worth a stop.

Service was amazing. Perfect for a date night. We had pork chops, Bass and Scallop Crudo. Place was vibrant. Staff were 5/5. Made reservation 3 days before for Wednesday night. Had no waiting time.

Visiting from out of town where a friend highly recommended the restaurant. Armed with a reservation we marched in however our first contact was with a hostess who asked "can I help you?". That's a non-starter for me. Waitress was nice, food was ok. Wouldn't go back

Solid 5 stars. Celebrated a birthday here and it was wonderful. Very gluten/dairy free friendly for my dining mate. Every dish was wonderful. Enjoyed raw oysters, incredible homemade pasta and fresh halibut. Dining mate loved the bison tartar and swordfish. Pavlova for dessert was perfection and one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Sorbet was balanced and refreshing. We were so impressed with watching the kitchen run like a well oiled machine. Our server Ray was kind and attentive. Truly a perfect meal and experience. Can’t wait to come back.

Great atmosphere and service! I was seating at the countertop facing the open kitchen. It was very nice seeing chefs are cooking and busy. Foods were taste great only except the seafood pasta. I am not sure if it was mistake or originally how it is, but pasta noodle was exceedingly salty. Other than that, very good from starter to dessert.
Sharon Yang
my god. what an experience. one of the best meals i’ve ever had! came in with a friend and we asked for the kitchen to send us whatever they thought was good. we probably made our way through 10-12 courses over the course of dinner - each better and more interesting than the last. incredibly fresh ingredients treated with a ton of care and creativity. plus they’ve got the wine list to match - really enjoyed a funky georgian orange and a really easy drinking red. wish i could give more than five stars! and incredibly reasonable price given the quality of the food (and how much we ate!) and service - probably clocked in around $140 each.
Jubilee
Fresh oysters and so good chilly sauce!! All the food was absolutely well prepared but the best is their dessert!! I love all the desserts from the spoon & stable patissier!!
Tiffany Cheng
enjoyed my dining experience here at spoon and stable! service was super friendly and food here was awesome. very big portions even for the small sized pasta. very cautious about the following covid rules, masks at all times when interacting with the servers. would come back again to try their lunch menu!
Merry De Leon Krueger
We had dinner to celebrate my birthday! I'm so glad we did!
Everything was perfect from start to finish. There were three of us so we tasted each other's dishes. We tried the arugula salad, the sunchoke soup, spaghetti nero, "Mafalde"(cacio e pepe), pork chop, Honey and Cream cake, warm apple pave and the chocolate budino. I've seen some comments saying the portions were small but we didn't feel that way. I would recommend ordering a side with the pork chop. My daughter and husband helped me finish the cacio e pepe as it was a LOT and was so good they couldn't stop stealing it from my plate. The spaghetti Nero is TEEMING with seafood.
Everything was amazing-the chocolate budino was our fav dessert. Cocktails were phenomenal and creative. I didn't catch the name of the wine that the manager recommended but it was lovely as well. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Can't wait to go back!
Alicia Clark
An absolutely delightful meal filled with happy surprises. Lester was an absolute joy as our waiter, with excellent wine and food recommendations and little extras that made our night wonderful. The wine list is excellent and the menu is varied and creative. I can't recommend this place enough, and I highly recommend you make a reservation to make sure you get to eat here.
Kristen Herber
Came here for my birthday last month and it was hands down one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The attention to detail and layers of flavors and textures is unmatched. The service was top notch. They sat us at the kitchen counter. If you get the opportunity to do so, it was so much fun watching everything!
Martin Nguyen
Easily one of the best restaurants in the twin cities. Had a wonderful experience and service here. It's always packed and reservations are hard to get but it's worth it. We went at opening and sat at the bar and really enjoyed it. We ordered the Mediterranean Sea brim and the pork chop and both were fantastic. But more importantly the dessert is insane. Order 3 if you can! The cocktails were also delicious.
ousmane Daffé
We went with the bison tartare and the shishito peppers. The pairing of the mild peppers, with a strong citrus note, combined with the earthy tahini was fantastic. The bison tartare was beautifully prepared, with an enjoyable tang. Our main courses of the salmon and lamb were both wonderful. The lamb medallions were rare and tender, while the lamb belly was rich and the accompanying sauces complemented both. We ended up with the Brussels sprouts as a side - probably the best I’ve ever had.
Katherine Merrill
I came here for brunch when visiting Minneapolis- and I can’t wait to come back! I highly recommend the quiche and the crepe cake, but the whole menu looked phone one all. Our service was great, and the restaurant itself is beautiful! Highly recommend!
Kayla Kuhlman (KK)
Absolutely fantastic dishes. I was "wowed" by pretty much everything, it felt like an adventure trying different things. My personal favorite bites of the night were the bison tartar, the chocolate custard tart (with raspberry ice cream), corn ravioli, the porkchop, and the cocktails (their twist on the old fashioned). I don't normally go to fancy restaurants (here for a special occasion) so I felt a little out of place at first but extremely welcomed by the staff and the inviting but eloquent atmosphere. Also they are doing a good job during Covid-19. Will definitely come back again for another celebration.
Kimberly Copas
Our favorite restaurant of all time! Every plate tops the last one. Exemplary service, amazing cocktails, vast wine list and the honey cream cake is to die for.
Perks Advisor
Very good dining experience this restaurant has some polish. Very stylishly designed restaurant downtown with some interesting cocktails. I had the fish dish which had some good flavors beyond the stylish presentation. The dinner bread with the fresh butter had a nice warm crispy outside soft inside enough to want more. Staff were attentive and offered some good suggestions.
Elston Flowers
This is a great place for lunch, but be prepared for the prices. I was because of looking at their website online. They offer many breads and pastries for brunch, but I was boring and ordered a large croissant that was so buttery. My main dish was a quiche, which was very smooth in texture, with greens. My drinks were a Postcard (rum, lime, pineapple, & jamaican #1 bitters) and a cappuccino.
Sweden Torgerud
Great atmosphere! Dinner can get spendy but brunch is reasonably price. The quiche is fantastic, and the pastries are fresh.
Mic Thomas
This place was fantastic, the food, the drink, the servers, and the chef. My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary Abd they were so accommodating. The servers and chefs were so amazing, once they found out it was our anniversary they brought us appetizers and desserts on the house. Everyone was wishing is a happy anniversary.
Seriously, the food was incredible, they're vegetables are so fresh, always get raw veggie dishes. They do they're meat right, the chef on the grill knows his stuff.
Just an incredible night, I highly recommend this place.
Paul A. Fernandez
Sat at the bar for dinner. Food was amazing and service was top notch. We really loved the interesting take on the gazpacho. Lobster gnocchi was stellar. Highly recommend and will be visiting again whenever we are back to the twin cities
Robert Schuldt
Really enjoyed our meal here. Very good mix of flavors that I wouldn’t think to put together. The mixed drinks are nice, the White Russian in particular is incredible as a dessert menu. You can get an Affogato if you ask for it! Would recommend to friends. I got the striped bass and found the mix of coconut curry + forbidden rice was wonderful!
Nidal Hamzey
Place is unbelievable! Ambiance is wonderful. Bright and open with high ceilings. Love an open kitchen. Service was excellent and professional, but I'd expect nothing less from them. It does full up quickly, so get there at 430 and sit in the bar until the dinner menu starts at 5. So worth it!
Eric Larsen
13/10 would recommend. I cannot say enough about this place.
Amazing staff, that knows their ever-changing menu well. Open concept kitchen, which is cool to see. Killer cocktails, seriously just get one- if you don't like it they'll make you a new one without charging for the first.
But most important is the food. W. O. W. Everything was on point: they have apps that are share-size if you're into small plates, they offer half/full portions of their killer pastas, and then full on main courses that are also amazing (but big). Even their sides kill it, flavorful-A-F.
Note: NOT cheap, but well worth it.
Pro-tip: they have cotton candy they give out for special events. It's fancy, mine was pineapple flavored.
Arthur McNabb
The reviews that say servers are slow to respond, the restaurant is "just popular because it's trendy" are either competing restaurants, angry ex-employees or a serious 1-off.
The food here is created like art, loved & treasured by it's chefs during it's preparation and is an experience in itself to eat.
The drinks are very interesting and fun. If you every get the chance to sit at the chef's table, it only enhances your appreciation for what food you eat.
A+ will return in a heart beat.
Sylvia Morgan
The ambiance is wonderful. The food was good but our entire table agreed all the dishes were a bit on the salty side.
Adam
Nice atmosphere, great views of the kitchen. Food is definitely priced higher than expected for the quality and amount of food. Nice cocktail and wine selections. Good date night place, but expect to pay for the experience.
Mark Silberg
Great food. Great atmosphere. Make a reservation if you want a table. Waits were long but we got a seat looking out the garage door at the bar fairly quickly. Don't miss the bar menu it has some of the best dishes.
Patricia Swenson
NEVER SKIP THE DESSERT. This is one of my go-to restaurants when there’s a special occassion or if I’m just craving for amazing dessert—which is always! The chefs always does a brilliant job with the creativity for their menu, and for delivering it as well. I would recommend to try the appetizers and desserts. Love the ambience on this place as well. Casual but can be romantic too. Plus, the drinks are delightful!
Tara Tai
I was a bit skeptical of this place because I had heard so many rave reviews that I was sure it would be over-hyped. Happily, I was proven wrong. This place is incredible! First off, the decor is open-air industrial--really modern and chic, really well-lit, with a great view of the kitchen and none of the "mood lighting" that necessitates patrons whipping out their cellphones to use as flashlights just to read the menu.
Second, and perhaps most importantly, the FOOD. We ordered the sweet corn and crab soup ($12), which was beautifully layered with sweet and salty and briney flavors from the cantaloupe, the corn, and the crab. Then we got the pea shoot fusilli (large ~$25) and the veal belly ($29). Both were incredible--the fusilli was loaded up with tender lamb and chanterelle mushrooms and lovely green peas, and the veal belly was so soft you almost didn't need a knife, paired with amazing salsa verde, onions, and just the right amount of heat from some jalapenos. We got creamed spinach with fried cheese curds as a side (~$8) which was possibly my favorite dish of the evening--it tasted like an elevated, Western-style saag paneer almost, with the crunchy cheese curds acting as a great counterpoint to the spinach. We rounded out the meal with the honey and cream cake ($11)--while heavy and creamy, it was SOOO overwhelmingly delicious, festooned with light, fluffy meringue-slash-nilla-wafer-cookies and a dollop of condensed milk ice cream.
For drinks, because we were driving, we both got mocktails ($7 each)--the pomegranate and the summer (watermelon with raspberries) were both really refreshing and light, a great counterbalance to the creamy foods we had ordered.
Finally, our server Emily M. was just the absolute sweetest. She really took the time to explain everything on the menu to us and after finding out we were from Boston, gave us a good 5 minute overview of museums to visit in MN, all while holding some very heavy plates. She also took the time to pack our food separately even though we put it all on the same plate, and also served the soup to us separately even though we were splitting, which was nice attention to detail.
I highly recommend this restaurant even if getting a reservation is tough. Thanks for the great memories, Spoon & Stable!
Carolina Margaria
Everything we ate was simply amazing. Fine dining at it's best, simply delicious food with fantastic service. Nothing pretentious or snobby about it. You can tell that every dish is carefully thought out and made with the best ingredients. We had the duck, lamb, and fish which were all great but we all agreed the duck was the best.
Appetizer portions were tiny, not exactly sharable, but given that they tended to be high end seafood or cuts it's understandable. We had a birthday in our party and they brought him out some house made cotton candy which was delicious. You can really tell they have a pastry chef in house, don't miss out on the dessert! All I got was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was flawless, possibly made in house.
Kevin Barcus
Another great meal at Spoon. The seasonal delights are brilliant. English peas, ramps, halibut and more.
Skyler H.
Awesome environment. The bar staff was great and willing to do something new. I was able to tell them my preferences and let them decide what to make and they did a fantastic job.
There is also seating near the kitchen where you can watch the food being prepared. It's a little mesmerizing. Also delicious. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town.
Michelle Damico
We stopped in your restaurant by accident yesterday. Took an unplanned walk on the Stone Arch Bridge and looked for restaurants nearby when we started getting hungry. Our Freshman told us she heard wonderful things about Spoon and Stable.
We lucked out with 3 seats at the bar. It was the highlight of our trip to pick up our daughter and return to Chicago. Loved our server at the bar, Ashley. She surprised me with a glass of Sauternes with my Pavlova. I was thrilled to have a server who knew to pair foie gras and Sauternes. The duck and pavlova were amazing and wonderful.
My husband loved his bison. We loved sitting at the bar next to Elden the commercial photographer and on either side of us women who didn’t know each other from Saratoga Springs. It was by far the most delicious, skilled, sophisticated, fun, stylish and smart dinner experience we’ve had in ages. Plus we made new friends! We will be back. Congratulations on your awesome restaurant.
Brian Jones
Great experience across the board. Great food and service from the moment we arrived until we left. Continues to set a standard in the twin cities.
Pranav Sharma
Awesome place. Great food and drinks. Just have to make prior reservation. It's really worth the wait.
Brianna Olsen
Went here for my birthday dinner! We couldn’t get a reservation because my bf and I didn’t plan ahead (lol) but we called a few days before and the staff were so helpful! They said to just come a little before normal dinner hours and we’ll be able to get seated in the lounge (which is full menu). We came around 6:30 on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. The setting/ambiance is still beautiful in the bar area, we didn’t feel slighted at all! So the service & atmosphere is spectacular... but the food OMG is to die for! I’m vegetarian and they provide a separate veg menu. When I first looked the dishes didn’t seem too exciting to me but we ordered anyways and I was SHOCKED how amazing the food was. I got a filled pasta and he got a sweet potato dish with kohlrabi & balsamic glaze. Every single bite of those dishes were unbelievable. I don’t know how they make a sweet potato taste like pure magic. AND they are famous for giving cotton candy if you’re celebrating! How fun is that! Haha the moral of the story is: go to Spoon & stable your life will be changed!
Eddie Mend
Great place for a pastry and drink. The main entrees are a bit overpriced for the quality. However, the atmosphere is great for sweets and drinks.
Michael Twenty4k
The food was phenomenal and the service was exceptional.
The first course was chilled split pea soup. I normally don't like chilled soups, but this one was delightful. The beets, horseradish, peas, and raspberries paired perfectly with each other. The soup was light, but full of bold and comfortable flavors.
Second course was house aged coppa on beignets with lime creme fraiche. Very good. The coppa was slightly spicy, which I like. The beignets were a little heavy, but everything paired very well together.
The staff brought out some sort of amuse bouche croquette. I couldn't make out what the waitress said, but it too was very good. Crispy outside with a perfect center served on melted fontina cheese. It was more than a couple bites. Delish nonetheless.
Foie Grass was next. A little veiny but still pretty high quality. The terrine was toppled with raspberry aspic or gelee with pickled strawberries. Very good.
The duck with wheat berries was very good. The wheat berries we're very interesting. I had never had them before. They had a bit of bite (Al dente) to them. The most interesting aspect of the dish was the kale chips. Kale has become over done and over rated. But the chips were charred, smokey, and salty. I was left wanting more.
Dessert was good. Not as memorable as the meal, but still very good.
Dion Robertson
Went for dinner it was a little busy . I sat closer to the bar, the main dining section was full. Atmosphere was very comfortable but I was the only person of color at that time.
The service was pretty great & friendly.
The brussels sprouts were my Fav! The fish was good but did not like the sauce it was very sour. I also had 2 drinks (only took a pic of the first one). The second was called Smash something to end the meal🌟🌟🌟🌟
Still a bit $$$$ pricey for a meal for 1

An unbelievable experience. From the food, to the drinks, service, atmosphere. It was an amazing experience and should I be lucky enough to go again, I will undeniably jump at the opportunity

Amazing and delicious food. They handled the table so good and we enjoyed the food a lot.

Excellent dishes: sea bass crudo(refreshing lemon grass taste without too much salt or acidity over powering) ; bison tartare( just wonderful); grilled Foie gras( if you like savory taste, this is your dish); heritage pasta is great; and the chocolate custard with blueberry sorbet (beautiful and tasty)
Underwhelmed and won't order again: dorthory's pot roast- mushroom and mashed potato is good, but the roast itself is just nothing outstanding.
Tried the cocktail big dipper , also average.
Overall is very good experience, will go back again.
Nick Lawson
As good as the reviews say. We had a party of 8 and the service was great all around. Bison tartar was amazing. Pictured are the stripped Sea Bass special and the seafood pasta. Both where outstanding. This place has a great atmosphere, high quality delicious food and excellent service. You can't go wrong.
Del O'Loughlin
We went here for brunch with a friend from out of town. We started off with a herbed goat cheese pastry that was amazing. I had the pork schnitzel, which was huge, but very tasty. My wife and our friend both got the croque monsieur, and both said it was good, but thought it would have been better to have greens (salad) rather than potato chips to counter the heaviness. We finished with a slice of crepe cake, which was amazingly light and really delicious.
Kristian Niemi
Impeccable food AND service! Well-crafted cocktails, freshly baked bread with whipped butter! Grilled beets were delicious! Spaghetti Nero was awesome, and chocolate-hazelnut custard was a grown-up Ferraro Roche. Awesome bar staff (we ate at bar)!
obie brown
Very expensive but totally worth it. Out anniversary dinner with one drink each was almost 300 but I'm still not complaining. It's awesome
Lydia Kaiser
The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly and courteous. The price was very reasonable for how delicious and well plated the food was. We ordered the Snapper and the Duck Confit (among many other things) as entrees-- pictured below. We will definitely be going again!
Muhammad Khalifa
The snap pea salad and all the pastas were fantastic, and then the sourdough ice cream stole the show! The menu balanced the familiar with the creative quite nicely. Would definitely try to stop again the next time I'm in Minneapolis.
Peter Lacey
We went on a Sunday evening, it was busy and we were able to get a couple of seats at the window counter so perhaps didn't get to experience the fill ambience. Very tasty food and cocktails. Make sure to leave enough room for desserts.
Melissa M
Pricey, but one of the best dining experiences available in Minneapolis.
Wait staff are friendly and informative and the dishes are delicious and inventive.
Highly recommend for anyone passing through town.
Good vibe for professional dinner, but not a super romantic spot.
Melisa Samuelson-Strand
One of the best meals I've ever had in my life. The sweet potato tortellini was DIVINE, I cannot stop thinking about it. The crispy potatoes with tomato aioli and creamed spinach with cheese curds were amazing. We also enjoyed the Rainbow Trout and Bacon Wrapped Sturgeon. Everything was cooked to perfection.
Dessert was incredible. We enjoyed the Chocolate Opera Cake and the Hickory Nut Financier. The petit fours served with our bill was a sweet touch and they were all scrumptious! Because it was my birthday I was surprised with cotton candy!
The Spanish Gin and Tonic was one of the most unique combinations of flavors I've ever tasted in a G&T. Simply inspired.
The decor is stunning, I simply could not stop looking around because there were so many perfect little details to notice. The open kitchen concept is always a favorite of mine, it's so fun to watch the chefs at work. The staff are so attentive, we were never once left waiting for anything.... all of our needs were anticipated.
All in all, a extraordinary dining experience!
Jon Preston
Celebrated an anniversary dinner there on 6/22/19. First of all the staff was attentive, polite and extremely helpful. A table of four and we all shared bites and everything was amazing. Started with Bison tartare, which was amazing. We had two teenagers along, with their first experience at this caliber of restaurant..... my daughter is open to trying new things and she loved the Bison
Main courses we had salmon, the lamb, and two pasta dishes. Every bite was amazing.
An amazing experience that will not be forgotten .
Robert Imrie
Food that makes you close your eyes so you can savor every chew. That has you watching the precision choreography of the chefs. That has you hanging on every word that the chef (if you get the tasting menu and sit at the counter by the kitchen, which I recommend) or waitstaff says, because you are thinking, "What is IN this? How can they make it all so delicious?" I love everything about this place.
Stephen Burgin
One of our best meals in Minneapolis. The trout with morels and the roasted asparagus were quite amazing. The gnocchi were light and fluffy. We sat at the bar and had great service.
Kris Krager
Surprisingly, the food was not as good as the last few times I dined here. Scallop crude was clean and fresh but the sauce was a smidge bitter, the veal ragu was out off this world and I would eat a few gallons of it, the roasted monk fish was ehhhh and the pot roast was tender and flavorful. Servers are amazing as are the drinks.
Emily Luthra
Excellent food: we had the veg tempura, celery route veloute, fusilli, salmon, pot roast. The fusilli was incredible, highly recommend. The host was super nice and helped us get a table by the bar because we were walk-ins. Cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Ben Ganje
Spoon’s track record have put them on the map. But the most under rated time of the week to swing into this fine establishment is Sunday Funday.
The energy is clearly different, in an authentic way.
Everyone is enjoying themselves!
Pro tip: bring a loved one or an entire family before noon to experience Spoon’s real menu. Our kids treasure winding up right here on a few select Sunday mornings every year.
Nick Peterson
One thing I love about any great restaurant is how it can consistently produce great food and service even when the Chef isn’t in. Gavin Kaysen’s Spoon and Stable always delivers. I’ve dined here quite a few times now and not once have I ever had a bad meal. One thing you need to keep in mind is save room for dessert. You’ll be doing yourself a disservice if you skip out on one of the many great options and eat the ice cream in the freezer at home.
Here is what I had this time: Spice-Crusted Duck Breast and the Chocolate Financier
Melody Gan
Great food & decor. Friendly waiters. Got complimentary desserts to try (probably because I was eating alone and they took pity on me). Bison tartare was pretty good. I would recommend to try it at least once.
Dave Chen
we held a big business dinner for 20 at the restaurant. the staff was great. the scallops were awesome. we are revol greens and they served our greens as the salad course. dressed lightly. the pheasant was meaty and done beautifully. the pork chop looked great.
super clean open and welcoming setting.
Karly H (Exploring the lakes!)
We were celebrating our 5 th anniversary!! Really enjoyed the food!! They gave us some sweets at the end which I though was super nice!!! Want to go back!!
Carlos Acosta
There's a reason this is listed as one of the top restaurants in the cities. All of the food was a gastronomical experience and had so much depth in flavor. The staff was courteous, experienced, and highly attentive. This is what dining should be like all the time.
Benson Benson
I had the English breakfast, and it was amazing. The staff was very helpful and kind. The coffee bar made us an excellent cappuccino to top off the wonderful pastries.
Chris Valenty
We really enjoyed the Striped Bass Ceviche, the Spaghetti Nero and the Pork Chop!
Laura Cramutola
Nice atmosphere. Food was delicious. I sat at the chef counter which was cool. Very attentive staff
Alex Pederson
I know some of the ‘fancier’ trendy spots downtown can sometimes be intimidating for people – myself included before I first had visited here, but they are very helpful in explaining the menu and ingredients if you have any questions. This was my second time having dinner here and it was amazing! I got a couple of alcohol free cocktails, which were very well made and not your typical club soda and juice fair. I got the pot roast seasonal special – and it was better than anything me or my family has ever made. Sorry crock pot… My partner got a fish entrée and it was also pretty amazing. Shared a salad which was a great start to the meal.
The place was packed, but all of the staff was super attentive – but not in an annoying rush you out of the door sort of way. I really can’t say anything bad about the place even if I tried... make some reservations and find out for yourself.

Sat at the bar and had a deliciously simple meal. The staff was wonderful, welcoming and generous.
Laurencio Ronquillo
Excellent ambiance. Superb friendly professional staff.
Amazing plates, might be higher price on some per portion. Some other have good price. Overall it can get a bit pricey with drinks.
But 1 beer or wine and entree puts you around $40 pp which is decent for this level of restaurant.
Plus it has excellent quality food.
You can street park or valet. Please tip valet, this is their job.
Clean well kept restrooms. Service at the bar was friendly, quick and you meet other patrons. I had a great experience.
Ron D
We ate there on out anniversary. What a great choice. We had a multi-course meal. My favorite was the spaghetti Nero. Wow. Will definitely go back at some time in the future.
Eric Li
Overall good food but on the saltier side.
Ordered the Spaghetti Nero and pork chop

Disappointing expensive dining experience. This was our first visit to Spoon & Stable. It’s reputation as one of Twin Cities best restaurants heightened our excitement. We had an early 5:00 pm reservation because later times were already booked. The service and attentiveness of the wait staff were excellent during the first hour of our visit but deteriorated as more tables were filled with diners. The noise level also increased substantially making it difficult to converse with my dinner partner. I could hear the diner next to me more than her. As for the food, the potato gnocchi and sun choke veloute soup were excellent. Those dishes were good examples why Spoon has such a fine food reputation. The venison and Dorothy’s pot roast were also outstanding. The sides of creamy spinach and crispy potatoes were also good. I also had the bison tartare. All I will say is heed the warning concerning undercooked ingredients. As an aside, the Gulf Snapper smelled foul when it was presented to the diner next to us. He ate a few bites of it but couldn’t tolerate more. As we were leaving the waitress was removing it from their bill. Overall, considering the noise level and expense I doubt we will return. We wish them luck.

Excellent food and service, hoping to come back soon.
Neil Fox
An almost flawless meal. Sat outside with a friend for dinner tonight. We started with the black truffle aranchini and lamb sausage stuffed squash blossoms. Both were excellent. Flavorful and we'll balanced. The lamb was truly outstanding.
Next came the orichette with sausage and broccoli and the tomato, watermelon and baratta salad. The pasta was just ok but the salad was a home run of magnificence.
The let down was the wagu Denver steak. The meat was grisely rather than rich and tender the way would expect any good steak.
The chocolate ganache desert was likely the best desert I can remember. It was perfectly balanced with amazing flavors and textures. This was worth the price of admission by itself.
Just go.
Christina Dean
Finally got to go here. Think we built it up too much in our heads. Bison tartare was chewy, duck had nice flavor but chewy also. Hazelnut chocolate dessert was really nice. Mushroom soup was good. Gavin was present but only visited with a couple of select folks. Not worth the 300 we spent
Jennifer Sheldon
This was my first time here and the food, drinks and dessert were phenomenal!!
Chuck Anderson
Great food and fast attentive service by our waiter. Place was quite loud and hard to hear the menu descriptions and waite staff questions, my only concern. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.
Juan Panora
Pretty boujee. The interior was amazing and so was the food. Bison tartare was on point. The waiter definitely did not spill my beer on the table.
Pei-Ching Sung
Definitely must come if you are in town!
Great food with the best service I ever had!
Leon Harwood
Spoon and stable is an experience. where the food is so delicious and expertly crafted. the service is so natural and seamless. Its one of those places where you get the kind of bill you'd expect from places such as this and not even bat an eye because it's genuinely worth it. Some of the best food I've ever tasted in Minnesota.
Crista Lentsch
An incredible dining experience! We were celebrating a birthday and an engagement and couldn't have chosen a better place. The food was delicious and presented so beautifully. 4 of us shared Brussel sprouts and red potatoes. The sauce on the red potatoes melted in our mouths! I had the wagyu steak and it was fabulous. The server was informed and catered to our needs, even bringing out complimentary cotton candy and cookies for our celebration. She was willing to take a photo of the four of us which was so sweet because I'm sure she had plenty more things to do. We will definitely return!
tatiana salazar
Good food, loved the cocktails. Portions are smaller but overall oysters and tartar were my favorite! Along with the pasta dishes!
Ashley Lindsey
Yep, best dinner we've had in MN. The food and the stagg were top notch! Ask to sit at the chef's table and go hungry!
Mark Blanchard
Great brunch, particularly their croissants. Staff is nice, but not super friendly. Beautiful venue.
Jessica Fischer
Great atmosphere and yummy brunch! We had a great experience with brunch here, everyone loved their dish. We had two toddlers with us and the staff was very accommodating.
Kai Dong
The service was awesome here. The food was a little lackluster for the amount we spent. We tried the snap pea salad, sea bass grudo, gnocchi, tortelli, halibut and the waygu, they all had sides or sauces that over powered the main ingredient, a lot of sour/acidic notes and weird crunchiness (dehydrated broccoli) that didn't go together. The waygu unexpectedly tasted like smoked brisket, on the menu there wasn't any mention it would be smoked, why would you need to smoke waygu? I really wanted to like this place but the flavor profile just didn't speak to me. The drinks were good.
Baran
The foie gras served on top of the pot roast, the sea bass, the oysters, …, everything was very tasty. Excellent service, timing, and cocktails…
Bill Binkelman
First time at the restaurant. We previously went to their now-gone "sister" restaurant in Wayzata, Bellecour, where we were never disappointed. Here...well, hit and miss. First, the place is noisy, likely due to high ceilings and a much (emphasis, much) younger crowd than at Bellecour. I had asked for a quiet table and it was "okay," but not great. Service from our server was, for the most part, excellent. Warm and friendly but also professional. My wife had the three oyster appetizer and deemed it very good except she had hoped for a better selection of sauces than what was offered. She loved her tortelli entree. I ordered the halibut and while it was perfectly cooked and a good portion size, I was underwhelmed. Not sure what the "sauce americaine" was about since there was nothing for the sauce to cling to, i.e., is one supposed to just slurp it up with a spoon (which I did somewhat). The bread that came before the meal was a disappointment, especially compared to what Bellecour usually served (I imagine it was from their bakery downtown, which surprised me). Overall, if I could give 3.5 stars, I would. At this price point, I expected better, but obviously a popular restaurant like this in a younger clientele part of town, I can't expect dining intimacy. I imagine my wife would give it 4.5 stars if she was rating her personal experience. May try it again.
Lisa Macaluso
Appetizers and meals were flavorful and decently portioned and priced. The wines were great and obviously what brought the cost up per person ;-)
Morgan Atchison
We came here for the synergy series night and it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had! The staff was down to earth and the food is beyond memorable!
Aria Benjamin
This place is delicious! I have loved everything I’ve ever tried at this restaurant. Cannot go wrong with this place. It is a little pricey, but well worth it.
Ryan McGee
Wonderful service and the food is superb.
Ordered the Grilled Lamb and Tortelli to share and it was more than enough for two.
The Oaxacan house cocktail is a fantastic choice if you like bourbon and/or mezcal since it is a mix of both.
LeShon Lee
Spoon and Stable has been the best dining experience I have ever had in Minneapolis. Everything was done to perfection, from the seating overlooking the kitchen and getting a glimpse into the process of plating. To the absolutely beautiful preparation of everything that came out of the kitchen. It made for one of the best date nights me and my girlfriend have ever had. We went to celebrate her birthday and the staff really made it a special night.
Michelle Moon
It was a dining experience not just dinner. Service was excellent. Everything was wonderful. Desserts were out of this world.
Luckie Vang
Up scale place, delicious food, amazing service, absolute must date night!
We went in on a Monday night and was able to get front Street parking. The north loop is made up of old town buildings renovated with the best local breweries, high end restaurants, and very chic boutique shops but the area is offset just enough from downtown to be more quiet and semi-private.
Seating can be a little tight but comfortable and if your sitting in front of the brightly lit open kitchen in the back (like we did), hard to have a quiet conversation amidst the bustling chefs and staff delivering food, though the smell was amazing and mouth watering. My wife and i shared all the dishes and our waitress was very helpful to explain everything and split or dishes for us. Though busy, she checked in on us regularly, cleaning the table promptly and refilling water several times without asking. We felt she really too care of us even though we could see she was busy. The dishes were delivered to us by other wait staff immediately when ready (we directly observed them from where we were sitting), so they were fresh and hot. We enjoyed every bite and then at the end of the course, they being you freshly spun cotton candy. What a treat!
Would highly recommend for a date night!
Philip Noland
Exceptional appetizers and entrees. Nationally ranked pastry chief and sous pastry chef. Make a reservation. Fabulous service.
Jessica Hazelton
I've dined here for both brunch and dinner. Both delightful. I go for brunch a bit more because I can afford it more. Don't leave without trying the Crepe Cake. It's to die for!
Kelly Zelna
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. Our server Gus was just lovely, he and the rest of the staff went above and beyond and made my partners birthday dinner extra special. I also very much appreciated the variety of gluten free options!
Neil Vijapura
My friends and I had a phenomenal experience at Spoon and Stable. I would recommend a reservation for large parties, but the experience will be mind blowing. From the open pastry bar at brunch to the kind staff, this was a top 5 dining experience of my life.
Joan Dao
Fave brunch spot. If you are bougie on a budget but still want to experience the place: go for the pastries and coffee for brunch
Miguel Zarate
Excellent food, Jess behind the bar is THE BEST! (Thanks for the Rum drink special creation) Fantastic customer service and great environment.
Ethan Nguyen
I came to squeeze a meal in before my flight and the staff was welcoming and accommodating to my schedule. Casual, yet refined ambiance. Food exhibited refreshing flavors while it also maintained a sense of familiarity. My pasta was slightly over salted, but the duck was cooked to perfection and had a delicate, crispy skin. Highly recommend.
Peter Lane
Fantastic service, but disappointed by food. Was too rich and was served undercooked fish. We're regulars at Demi so the bar was set very high for S&S.
Melanie Dethlefsen
Incredible food and service. Lovely setting. Parking is right next door.
John Weirick
When friends are in town and they want to go to a James Beard award-winning chef’s French-inspired seasonal Midwestern restaurant in what used to be a horse stable in 1906, you know what to do.
Squid inked Spaghetti Nero with prawns, mussels, octopus (half order was so filling); super sourdough bread and smooth whipped butter; ricotta tortellini with pesto, squash blossom, and baby zucchini (everything must be tiny?); Alaskan halibut; melt-in-your-mouth fried snapper, with mushroom and shiso, that will convert any non-fish-person; creamy spinach with cheese curds; crispy potatoes with aioli and shishito pepper; and complimentary petite sweets with the check (hello there, stone fruit macaron). Also, a delightfully astringent Pimm’s Cup with berries and aquavit.
Bob Walker
Very good all around, menu is a little out of the ordinary which I liked. Pics: bison tartare, pork chop with sides, and dessert.
Mark H.
This was the highlight of my trip back to Minneapolis in Oct. 2018. We went for brunch at 1:30 on Sunday and ate at a comfortable pace until 4pm. The staff is the epidomy of professional. The movements in the kitchen were smooth in spite of a packed house. If the Michelin star system went through MN, Spoon and Stable would definitely have one.
Raveena Yamin
Amazing Experience and Food was absolutely FANTASTIC! Mark was knowledgeable about the menu and delightful to interact with.
Wenn Townsend
Amazing service and the food was outstanding. Best tartare in town and the duck was perfect as was the cod! We will be back for sure!
Julieta Chaffee
One of the best places to dine in Minneapolis. Deliciois food, incredible staff....and the best dessert. Don't ever skip out on the dessert
Maggi Heyer
Amazing food, drinks and dessert. The bar area is first come first served with a full menu. We stopped for drinks and dessert on a Saturday, found seats quickly and had a great time. The chocolate hazelnut custard was fantastic.
Lauren Sobotta
I have stopped into Spoon and Stable multiple times recently, once at the bar and another to dine in the dining room and both were such positive experiences. I have found all of their staff to be so kind and knowledgeable. Most recently, our server, Brendan, was fantastic. He provided great wine recommendations to go with the dishes we had ordered and was knowledgeable about both the wine and food. Historically, I had not been to Spoon, thinking that they wouldn't have many vegan options, but boy was I wrong. They can accommodate for any diet, and I cannot express how obsessed I am with their vegan version of a pork chop, where the meat is replaced with a kohlerabi steak. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an upscale experience to go to Spoon and Stable, and to not hesitate about talking with your server about dietary or palette preferences as they are great at tailoring the experience to meet your needs and preferences.
Morgan Courtney
Very popular place, so be prepared to wait. Great menu— from the unassuming cheese curd-stuffed bratwurst on the bar menu to the bison tartare.... everything was delicious. Even better, I love that they source their produce from a local Hmong farmers association! Great service here, too. Highly recommend.
Zhou Fang
Had brunch there. The food is fantastic. Crepe cake is especially good.
Maxim C
We went to see the restaurant a few days ago and got lucky because I was able to make a reservation. Usually they are fully booked. I like the fact that gratuity is already included and customers don't have this dilemma of tipping. And of course the food was out of this world!
A Nation
Spoon and Stable is a beautiful restaurant filled with some of the best servers I have met. They worked promptly and efficiently without loosing that personable nature in the process.
The food and drinks are Amazing! I cannot gush enough about how delicious the food is. Everything I tried was mouth watering, with meat perfectly cooked, vegetables done to perfection, and the flavors melding together to create something wonderful with each bite. I was sorry to see my plate empty!
If you go there I strongly recommend their desserts as well! We cannot wait to go back and try them all out!
Virgil Moses
Food was good here. Really love the melt in your mouth banana bread.
Vince Aimutis
Enjoyed a great anniversary dinner here and was very impressed. Lives up to its reputation as one of the best Minneapolis restaurants. Only knock I’d have is the tables are a little close leading to feeling like you’re eating with others. Overall though, the service, cocktails, food, and setting are top notch!
Adam Barrett
As always,a wonderful experience. The Bison tartar was amazing.
Black Cod, incredible.
The brussel sprouts, my God. Amazing.
Service was great!
The atmosphere at Spoon & Stable is always welcoming and perfect for a business dinner or date.
Highly recommend.
David Moore
The menu has a very earthy/naturalistic vibe, with plenty of well thought out seafood and game selections that deliver excellent flavor without being too obnoxiously fancy or over the top. The atmosphere also creates a humble yet elegant ambiance that makes for a cozy dining experience. I also like to commend them for Gluten-free & dairy-free items being highlighted in the menu and that the selection for those was quite broad.
Arthur Barrett
Our server, Genevieve, hit a home run!
We came to this restaurant as part of our weekend visit to Minneapolis from Illinois and the staff remembered it was my daughter's 25th birthday. Genevieve and Kendall were attentive and while the restaurant was busy we never felt rushed. The wine steward also made a point to stop by and spend time with our table and our daughter. The portions were not too large but large enough that we did not feel bloated. The appetizers we ordered were unique but we were able to share amongst a table of five. Our server, Genevieve, even brought a cone of cotton candy to our daughter for her birthday!
Overall, an EXCEPTIONAL experience for our family. It ranks up there as a better food experience in the last few years. Keep up the excellent attention to details and service.

Two specific gripes and then details. First, don't tell me you've replaced your tip line with a 21% hospitality fee (what exactly is that? Isn't that just a non transparent way of raising your prices?) and then still HAVE A TIP LINE on my bill. If you are tacking on 21%, then lose the tip line, period, full stop. If someone is desperate to leave more money for service, they can dig out some cash. The tip line implies that a tip is still expected - nope. Second, the portion sizes for anyone other than someone on a diet are laughably small.
Details: The green salad was really good. The pasta was quite tasty and a solid portion, but the two entrees we ordered were good but really not 'great', especially the black cod. The roast beef dish was very solid but the portion was pitifully small even for a white linen place with (as the waitress reminded me) a 'James Beard winning chief' - I get it, I'm here, you don't need to toot your own horn at this point. I understand this isn't TGI Fridays and the portions aren't going to be huge, but for $32, I expect them to be larger than what I view as a small luncheon portion. I should be able to order a salad and an entree and be satiated. Not here - better also order a pasta to split or you will leave hungry. Also the service was glacially slow - if I want to linger over my food and order an extra drink and chat, that should be my decision. We didn't receive our entrees until 1:30 after sitting down. By the time we got done and finished our wine, I was ready to get out - it had been more than 2:00 and we skipped dessert.
Emily Elizabeth
THIS FOOD WAS SO GOOD I CRIED. I am not exaggerating. The employees are so kind and attentive. The food is freaking phenomenal. I had the duck confit and it was perfect. My sister had the English breakfast and it was also soooo wonderful. You truly must go here.
Faisal Al-Kandari
Great experience it is really 5 stars restaurant. Make sure to try Steel-cut Trout and Honey & Cream Cake
Nick Sanford
Wonderful classy joint with great food. I had the lamb dish which was absolutely perfect. Only complaint was the carrots were a little inconsistent, but that may just be my personal tastes. My wife had the pot roast which just melted in your mouth. We got a side of fries in case we didn't like our food but we hardly touched it because we both loved our food.
Service was excellent and had great timing. We didn't feel like we were waiting long nor like we were being rushed. We did spend nearly $200, but we splurged a little on drinks and dessert. Plus we tipped extra which isn't required.
We don't go to many fancy places, but compared to the few we've been too this easily takes the top spot. Overall loved the entire experience, ambience and decor was pretty cool.
Eliecer Camejo
The food at this place was so good!!
The service so excellent!!!
The ambience so nice!!!
Definitely this is now my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis!!
Emilio Alvarez
Loving the new springtime deserts — my sister flew in today and this was the perfect spot to grab a late night bite to eat
Diana Madigan
Every plate was amazing! We really liked the creamy spinach, roasted beets, and the honey and cream cake. The flavors all came together in every dish! You can tell a lot of thought was put into each one. I want to meet the chef. My girlfriend stated this was the best dining experience she’s ever had in her entire life.
Rob Summers
Giving it because the value wasn't there for me great food but 300 dollars great? Not sure. Service was amazing
Matthew Carper
Gin and tonic had a sprig of Rosemary that added a nice smell at each sip. Chocolate Financier with chocolate ice cream topped with crumbled coffee beans was unbelieavably good that left my wife and I fighting for the last bite. Order two is my recommendation.
Eugenio Galán
Good cuisine, excellent service, nice ambiance and ok, I'll agree to pay this prices.
Mamoudou Gassama
I love this place, great food and my kids love it cause the cotton candy. everyone wins, except the sugar rush after...
Zikar Zaour
This is very cozy restaurant with an elegant touch, a VERY delicious food and VERY friendly staff.. We had tried couple of things and all were great, as well as the drinks and desserts. We also tried the special Burger (BirdGer-Chicken burger) on a Thursday night, which was absolutely amazing!
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis.
Beau Levesque
Great pasta variety - loved the gnocchi & spaghetti nero. Pork chop was also great!
Becca Freeman
I really like the vibe of Spoon and Stable! The staff were attentive and quick to fill water up! My friend got the pork chop on recommendation of our waiter and loved it. I had the Spaghetti Nero and while it was good, I think next time I'd order something different! Overall, a very nice, upscale place to go out for dinner!
Edit: I've now been here for a second time and enjoyed my food immensely. I got the Black Cod dish and we shared the King Salmon appetizer. I also ordered the brussel sprouts. One of our party members knew the chef's father, so we ended up getting a small treat from the bar menu which was also phenomenal - the truffle Mac and cheese bites.
iAmDaD
Ok. So this is my MOST FAVORITE RESTAURANT. I won't even care if i get bad service- as long as I get the food they make. They have the best looking, tasting food I ever had. I Love everything about this restaurant. Decore, service, drinks, FOOD. I can order anything and I know I will like it. BEST. 5* Everytime. $$$$ worth it.
Elizabeth Bennetts
Spoon and Stable is one of our favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. It has really cool ambiance and a great menu.
Whoru87
Thoughtful service and amazing food
kurt eismann
Very nice restaurant in Mpls. The halibut, lamb, pasta, and duck were all phenomenal! The wait staff and service were great. Gratuity is already included.
Aviral Asthana
Spoon and Stable is simply an experience. You can eat as much or as little as you'd like, but whatever you order you will definitely appreciate as a phenomenal culinary journey. The flavors on the plate will leave you wondering how they did it and will leave you wanting more but honestly, by the end of my entree meal, I felt about the right amount of full - I was able to enjoy dessert after as well. I sincerely recommend this place as a date, group gathering, or family dinner destination and guarantee that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu if you are looking for unique flavors and artful presentation. The ambience is also very nice with an open kitchen, candles, stone/granite decor, and a nice bar area as well. Despite the size of the space appearing small at first glance, there is a lot going on and a lot to enjoy at this restaurant!
Sarah Senior
Very fun experience sitting at the chef’s counter. We enjoyed watching the fast-paced food execution in what seemed like a seamless manner. Everything was tasty but the gnudi and desserts were our favorites!
Shannon Paradis
This place is just incredible. Every dish was delicious, impeccable service, romantic ambiance and the kitchen runs like the most well oiled machine all while maintaining smiles/seeming to have fun and chatting it up with patrons.
Jerel Howland
Awesome food! Great service. Lucky enough to be part of a group in a price room which was awesome! I will be going back!
Grant Langbauer
Pretty Dope. Enjoyed sitting near the open kitchen. I always enjoy watching food being expo'd and prep'd. Like seeing the rhythm of a team in motion. Great work and excellent food!
Nicholas Zimet
Beautiful and tasty, your date will be inpressed...but rarely innovative - lots of predictable dishes and it's price is a bit high compared with similar fine dining in MN
Stephen Clausen
Excellent experience. Service was wonderful, food was fantastic. Bison tartar? Heck yes! I'm a sides guy and that may have been the best broccoli I've ever had. Steak was cooked to perfection.
Listen, if you are price sensitive or equate $$$ to portion size, you are missing the point of enjoying a great meal and this may not be for you.
100% will be going back - worth every penny!
Ksenia Ledneva
Great place! Atmosphere is nice, classy vibes. Try creamy spinach and honey cake for desert 🤤 …
Troy Peterson
Ambiance is amazing and very cool. Food was amazing. We thought the snap pea salad was very tasting with good texture. The scallops were probably the best that we have had, so tender and tasty. You have to try the Honey & Cream dessert...wow! If you’re a coffee guy, very nice finish to the evening. The only thing that was a bit of a surprise was the 21% service fee (which was added prior to tax) that didn’t go directly to our waitress (only 9% went to her). Our waitress was extremely good, so of course we tipped her on top of the “service fee”. Definitely will go back!
Kelsey Forman
Incredible service, beautiful space, and the food was incredible. The place is more pricey than most restaurants I eat at, but the food is worth every penny. Will definitely come here again.
Erin Wolfe
We had a wonderful dinner. The Bison appetizer was amazing. I had the pork chops and my husband had the duck. Both dishes were really great. We had their famous cake for dessert. It kinda tasted like the best Twinkie you ever had! All in all, I would highly recommend this place.
Zinzi Bailey
The food was okay, but disproportionate to the cost. I've had tastier food elsewhere. I think you pay for ambiance.
Mike Bussow
Deliciously prepared farm to table meals. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Impeccable service.
Tyler Kendrick
Great food. Great whisky selection. Great atmosphere. Good service.
Though the staff didn't appear to be familiar with the spirits they offered and gave us a pour from the wrong bottle initially, they were quick to correct the issue - and ensured we had a very enjoyable experience.
The food was comparable in quality (if not better) than most Michelin Bib restaurants I've dined at.
Michael P
Good Lord, I don’t even know where to start. This is by far some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve been all around the country trying different foods. The customer service was 15/10, the waiter was one of the nicest people I’ve ever talked to and gave me amazing recommendations for food, drinks, and dessert. The food was just on a whole other level. This place is gorgeous, the food is a work of art, even the bathroom was incredibly clean. Absolutely love this place and now my favorite restaurant in the Midwest for sure.
Lynnette Muhich
I visited Spoon and Stable for a late Sunday dinner with work friends from out of town. The atmosphere is higher end, but friendly. The tables were socially distanced and the space was very clean.
We had multiple apps, main courses, and desserts. The food was very tasty and well presented. I also loved that they had multiple spirit-free cocktails.
We were there for 2.5 hours and had a wonderful time.
Rolando Almodóvar
Excellent place to gather with friends. Food is amazing. Cocktails are to die for.
David Barton
The food was amazing, the wine fantastic and the service outstanding. I had the waygu, my friend had sea bass.
Lucillia Nkinsi
Absolutely delish meal! Would go back for the striped bass ceviche alone. The honey and cream cake was a nice finish to the meal. Not all the cocktails were to my taste but there are plenty of drink options to find something you do like.
Heidi Mandt
I placed a reservation here for my husband's birthday and contacted them a week or so in advance to see if they could accommodate my vegan diet. I'm not mad if I need to eat a couple sides when I go places like this. They were so great, making a note on our reservation so that the server could walk me through two or three fabulous actual main course options. The food was soooo good you wouldn't know there were substitutions- my husband even wanted some of my food! Everyone was warm, professional, and accommodating!
Gayle Peterson
I love Spoon and Stable…brunch today was not great. Pancakes tough. English Breakfast not authentic or delicious. Pot Roast hash was good but could have used potatoes. Waffles were a success. Hope this was just an off day. Wait staff and atmosphere a delight.
Jeffrey Rada
Amazing food, one of the best restaurants in Minneapolis. Their food is always thoughtful and good presentation, romantic setting, staff is extremely knowledgeable. The open kitchen setting is cool and you can really see how much they care about their food! A must try
Andrew Littlefield
Top notch service, incredible food, and a great value. A must-go in Minneapolis!
Sarah Marrinan-Realtor
Great atmosphere! Great drinks! Food was good but nobody at our table thought it was better than other restaurants of similar caliber that they'd been to.
Nick Budzinski
Some of the tables were a bit small, but we were quickly re-seated to a larger one upon request. Server had difficulty hearing us at times. Food was fantastic, and the overall experience was great. Reasonably priced considering the quality. Would highly recommend.
Zenia Munger
Literally, EVERY part of this experience was phenomenal. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen and watched true artists work.
The waitstaff was courteous, helpful, and attentive. We had to eat a gluten-free meal and they were well-versed in what menu items were able to be served.
We shared each course and they provided extra plates with each item as well as gluten free and gluten items where applicable.
The food was all fantastic, including the gluten free pasta. No additional salt was ever desired, everything was cooked perfectly, and the menu was unique and inventive.
I wished we lived nearby so we could become regulars.
Julia Walfoort
Service was top notch, everything we had from the menu was lovely (especially the gnocchi - melted in your mouth), and the drinks were spectacular. Definitely will be back for another special occasion!
Jonathan Finney of Protrips
Did it exceed expectations in relation to what I paid, absolutely!
Everything I had was just on the money every single time. The peaches and cream dessert was unique and decadent.
They also have a really good bourbon selection and this comes from someone living in Nashville, also, it's a huge discount here for it vs most other places in the US and for the AC level.
John Belk
Unbelievably good food and one of the nicest atmospheres we've ever been in. Warm and bustling, but still quiet enough that it's never a problem to talk or listen. Our waitress Maggie made every part of the evening just delightful, and her opinions on the menu steered us right every time. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Sherry Bloedow
Love this establishment.... staff is awesome, food never disappoints.
Galie Jaddunath - Robinson
My experience is always great at Spoon and Stable. The hosts are servers are always on top of it! Stopped by for dessert and tea and I must say it was the best! I'll be returning soon for more ❤
Jonathan Krejci
Wonderful meal with a great atmosphere. Seasonal menu...so always new and exciting. A gratuity is automatically applied and shared among the staff which I think is fantastic. A must stop in the Twin Cities! No photo to share as I was to busy enjoying my meal :)
Sam Campbell
This place is legendary! Great food, unique atmosphere and award winning chefs. We only had brunch, but everything was near perfection. The location is cozy and residential, albeit wealthy. Coffee shop and bakery nearby!
Natalie Waechter
Pretty good food. The mushroom soup was excellent. The pasta was too al dente and tasted nothing like what it was supposed to be (Cacio e Pepe). A couple sitting next to me also had a pasta dish and returned it because it wasn’t very good. Wine pours were a bit stingy for the price.
Andy and Karen Uhler
Six of us ate dinner here. From the start to the finish, everything was excellent. Our server's suggestions were helpful and we all enjoyed our meal. It's a memorable place to eat.
Tammy Ebert
We hosted a company event this evening for our wonderful employees and their spouses. The service was flawless and the food was amazing. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Highly recommend!
Tuck Dillinger
First of all, the price is up there but for good reason!!! If you’re looking for something quick and cheap... This is not it. If you wish to come here for any special occasion... THIS IS THE PLACE.
The experience here was absolutely phenomenal! The atmosphere was amazing, the employees were very friendly, and the food was AMAZING! I ordered a half dozen oysters which comes with two types of sauces, the seared scallops, and the honey cream cake. I’ve never finished multiple plates before at a restaurant until now. The oysters tasted great with the sauces, the scallops were nicely cooked and nicely seasoned, and the cake... oooooh man the cake was a medley of great flavors. Also, the bar is stacked with high quality liquor. I highly recommend their Old Fashion for the die hard whiskey drinkers or the Tom Collins for the folks that like a nice, cool, and citrusy style drink.
I can honestly say that this is the best restaurant I’ve been to in terms of quality of the food, atmosphere, and super friendly employees. I highly recommend this place and forever will come here for special occasions!

Service was great, hard to get reservations. Everyone spoke very highly of the place. I don't know if we came on a bad night but the food was just OK for the price point. Each component of the dish was very good, however, did not come together as a cohesive dish for us.
We will definitely try again!

Great dinner in a fabulous location!
Ilya Soroka
Fantastic every time brunch or dinner. You should go if you can get in.
Dan Leffelman
Wonderful service, enjoyed every minute, didn't feel rushed at all. Food was great, the presentation was wonderful and made us feel very welcome for my girl's birthday. Would definitely recommend the oysters and the pork chop with grilled peach

We went to Spoon and Stable after attending Chef GK cooking classes. The restaurant did not disappoint. We had fantastic service and amazing food. Our server even helped us with a unique dessert request that my partner had. The Chef was not certain it would work but it was fantastic. We loved the service and food so much we are heading to Demi next week.

Absolutely stunning all around– dare I say encroaching on 1-star Michelin level experience. Cozy and unassuming atmosphere, original and seasonal fare, exceptional cocktails (with a rotating daily/weekly special that was delightful), and attentive yet unobtrusive service. If you're looking for top shelf dining in Minneapolis, this restaurant should be at the top of your bucket list.
Josiah Huggett
Thanks Louis for the recommendation on the daily special negroni! And for taking care of us on these two's birthday dinner!
Chanelle Nigh
Excellent atmosphere, food, beverage, and service. A little spendy. (Gratuity is included in prices; however, individuals can leave a higher tip percentage than the base if they're so inclined.) Nevertheless, lovely experience.
Mr. Gabriel
Came in for a nice date and was delighted with everything. We got an appetizer, entree, dessert, and plenty of drinks. They had some really good non spirited drinks too. Our waitress was super nice and engaging. I really liked how the meals were actually normal sized and not too overly proportionate. The bill was higher than we expected, but that’s okay because the food was delicious. Will definitely come again.
Cassandra Miceli
The food was very good. My only complaint was that at the end of the meal, the waitress gave us a lecture about how she still expected us to tip despite there being a 21% service fee included. I’m always happy to tip especially for outstanding service. However, if I’m being charged an additional 21% service fee, than I will treat that as the tip and expect the restaurant to pay their employees a fair wage.

We had our 3 year anniversary today. The waiter didn’t ask but it’s ok. I think we felt like he was judging us a little. Expensive dinner for sure 🤷♀️
The drinks were great. Beer, wine and cocktail of the day. Great assortment.
We ordered oysters for an app. Best oysters in twin cities hands down. Fresh, amazing flavor, great sauce to go with them.
Dinner was steak and fish. The steak had superb flavor. Charred, smoky and garlic. My husband asked for as rare as it can be and it came overly seared. The broccoli was average.
Fish was monkfish. The flavor and smell off the sauce was curry like. Not sure if Nduja taste is curry like but I don’t like curry, so dinner for me was tolerable. Wish there were more potatoes.
We skipped desert because we were not impressed. Great food. Not our favorite but we will try again.
Matthew D'Olimpio
It definitely lives up to the hype. Fantastic food, great cocktails, and absolutely exceptional service. Genevieve, our server, was perfect. This place is wonderful and absolutely worth checking out. Such a great room, too!
Cowabunga Investments
Absolutely one of the best places to eat in Minneapolis! The drinks are tasty, the food is delicious and unique and the staff is wonderful! Ask for their recommendations. They know best!
Logan Sawtelle
Service was excellent and the restaurant space is beautiful. Menu, exciting and delicious.
Rachel Ferrara
Always phenomenal. Refreshing cocktails, and an exciting variety on the menu. I being seated in the dinning area for dinner one day and also do a meal in the bar/lounge. Both are enchanting. Get a bunch of plates and share so you can try as many items as you like.
John Beale
We had an absolutely divine experience at Spoon & Stable. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and kept our glasses full for the duration of the dinner. The food was fantastic, hats off the chef and his team, truly an American dining, something you’d experience elsewhere and at this price, the food was both filling and bold with flavour. A must visit if in Minneapolis and you can find a spot!
Stacy Welle
Sat at the bar and had great small plates and drinks! Super cute environment and great food!
Update: great food, service was good, and they have fun drink options. There area few tables in the bar area to sit if they are available and you don't have a reservation. We didn't have much of a problem getting a table there. It's a great menu, but your bill will reflect that.
Jill Nussel
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Minnepolis. My husband had the amazing pheasant and I had the fork-tender pot roast. I don't remember her name but the hostess or manager was great about finding us a table when we showed up without a reservation. I'm ready to go back to Minnepolis just to have dinner here.
Justin Coenen
This place is to die for. Every single dish was amazing! The halibut, bison, crispy potatoes, all cooked to perfection. And the drinks were outstanding!
Jason Punda
Spoon and Stable has been nominated or won several awards for being one of the best up-and-coming restaurants in America. After eating there, it's not hard to see why. Everything from the seasonal venison to the foie gras to the peanut butter semifreddo was simply scrumptious. They also carry a great selection of wine and of higher end spirits and the very talented bartenders run a great cocktail program.
DM
This place can be wonderful and it can be underwhelming. I had a fantastic meal and service on Friday night and decided to come back on Saturday. My service was not good at all, the pot roast we were served had a lot of gristle and fat, noticeably more so than the other order we received. I asked the server to replace it and he gave me attitude and a somewhat condescending response. He said that the pot roast was literally two steaks held together which isn’t accurate, the cut is actually a short rib. I just smiled politely and again asked for another order. He finally said yes but that we would just be receiving the same thing. (No, the replacement order was a much nicer cut of short rib). I cook short ribs often and sometimes pieces are more meaty than others and I didn’t appreciate the attempt to mansplain the situation. So we could have done without that exchange and it made the rest of our meal stressful. Service at the bar dining area on Friday night was outstanding and our server was amazing and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. Great service really makes all the difference here. The younger girl at the front of house was lovely.

Hosted an event for 16 people in private room. Nicola made everything so easy to plan and provided guidance every step of the way. The food was delicious. Exceeded our very high expectations. Everyone loved it. Highly recommended!
Stephanie Lynn Tanner
WOW. We were in from out of town and by a stroke of luck, I discovered Spoon and Stable online and was able to secure a reservation a day in advance. Dinner completely blew me away. Lovely, cozy yet lively, and everything was plated and prepared to perfection. The service was impeccable- warm yet discreet. Nothing was missed or overlooked- in fact, they mistook our order and we ended up with a complimentary first course dish out of the confusion! My local friends were impressed I found this gem and that I got a table without a wait. Try the spaghetti nero!!
River Dettloff-Moats
I went to the milk bar event last weekend and it was awesome! I loved the cereal milk soft serve

My most fav place in our city! Just flawless and always feel pampered by the staff!!!
Clement Lin
High quality food, nice plating
Just look at these pictures.
Jonathan Lee
Really enjoyed the experience here, took my wife out for mothers day and it exceeded our expectations! Being able to see your food prepared in such an intimate space is a game changer.
We enjoyed every course, but our favorite was the spaghetti Nero!
Sarge Kennedy
Owned by the head chef and it shows with the perfect kitchen and interior design and lighting. I hope the Michelin crew is watching this place. *

What a marvelous dinning experience! Authentic French flavors and dishes done to perfection. Portions are on the modest side and it is hard to leave for less than a hundreds dollars, but is worth it. The food and drinks are phenomenal. Service staff is very friendly and attentive. The space is well lit with both cozy and contemporary decor. An assortment of fresh baked pastries to sample and share with the table. Reservations are recommend. Enjoy!

Spoon and Stable offers delicious food and a truly beautiful space - is it weird I want to design my house after their bathroom? We have enjoyed eating both in the dining room and in the bar area, for both dinner and brunch, and have had no complaints regarding food quality or taste. The cocktails are very good, as is the house made bread! Sitting at the counter with a view into the kitchen was amazing and so interesting - the chefs were open to answering a few of our questions about the food and ingredients, which was appreciated! The only reason I did not give a 5 star review was that while the food was delicious, it was not quite as inventive as a few other places that we enjoy. We will absolutely return to Spoon and Stable many times in the future, I'm sure!
Brandon Seifert
Absolutely incredible. From the beautiful design of the space to the artful presentation of the food, Spoon and Stable exceeds all expectations. The menu is diverse, the food is fantastic, and the waitstaff is fun and engaging with great recommendations. Our waiter described the menu to us, suggested several different drinks (all of which were excellent), and the kitchen gifted us with an extra appetizer and wonderful dessert. I was excited to try this restaurant (this was my first time going), and I can honestly say I'm even more excited to go back a second time next time I visit Minneapolis. A new top favorite of mine, across the country, for their food and for so much more.

Simply put, the best restaurant my wife and I have ever been in Minnesota! It was a meal and an experience on our wedding anniversary! The spaghetti nero and dry-roasted duck were spectacular, along with the bison tartare! To finish with desert was the orange cream cake, which was a decadent delight! I would encourage anyone to go here, even if it means to save up to patronize my local business. We spent $250 for food and drinks and no regrets!
Dolev Cohen
Such a great experience so glad we found this place during our trip.

Special Christmas gift from my brother and his wife! Absolutely delicious

Absolutely phenomenal!

I ordered the lamb chop, and it was probably the most tender and best tasting lamb chop I’ve ever had. My Autumn Manhattan was fantastic as well. The service was pretty good and the restaurant had a well designed interior. Doesn’t get 5 stars due to laughably small portions. I’m not that big but could of easily eaten 3-4 lamb chop entrees (+ $100). No one should have to leave a restaurant hungry.
Michael Rosenthal
Wow! After another local restaurant cancelled our reservation for a special 40th Anniversary dinner, our group of 4 went to Spoon and Stable. Every dish was simply flawless - some of the best food I've ever eaten! Everyone at the table agreed it was perfect. Great job! I'd recommend this place to anyone.
justin mork
Yumm. We went here for our anniversary and decided before the start of the night that we would be treating ourselves. Our exact meals aren't important as the menu changes with availability and season, but everything was amazing. I had duck, my wife had ravioli, the drinks were amazing, the dessert was incredible. The service was impeccable with perfect descriptions and suggestions for our meals and a complete awareness around crafting a meal for my vegetarian wife. For us this is probably a once in a year treat, but I would recommend Spoon and Stable to anyone looking for a place to host an intimate celebration.
Andie P.
Always an amazing brunch spot. Ambiance is phenomenal and it doesn’t feel like you’re in the Midwest (love that!). Crepe cake is a must and honestly, anything from their pastry menu is a work of art and worth the calories.
Nicole Boor
The food was incredible! The staff was great, too. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.
Rob Hall
I enjoy going out to places I have never been before but typically I do not visit places like Spoon and Stable but this was for a birthday event. The service is top notch and the menu though not huge is designed for those more in tune with their pallets and that is not a negative. The pork chop was excellent and the sweet potatoes well lets put it this way I do not normally care for them but was looking for more on my plate. The on tap IPA I enjoyed Phantom Bride was easily worth more than $7 dollars a glass. Had this been a place more suited to my personality I would have easily given it 5 stars but genetics have me more comfortable at a burger and pizza joint, my loss but enjoyed my experience non the less.
Raddie Ruple
I've been to Spoon & Stable for both dinner and brunch, and both experiences were great. If they still allow it, it's a cool experience to sit at the kitchen bar in the back. You can watch the chefs prepare everything, and they tend to give you complimentary food. Brunch was delicious, especially the fresh pastries.
Manie Petamar
One of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. The food always is amazing and the homemade hot sauce is the best!
Eric Westenberger
This was a positive dining experience through and through. Every staff member was thoughtful, respectful, and friendly. They were not pretentious at all, even though they had every right to be. Everything we ordered exceeded my expectations. House made bread with house made butter was brought out to start. Followed by the green salad and the house made cappelletti pasta. I could not recommended the pasta enough! We split brussel sprouts and she ordered the pot roast, while I had the pork chop. They were both exceptional. Make sure to finish with desert; any of them.
The food lived up to the reputation, but the service blew me away. An unforgettable meal at a very reasonable price.
Mark Bjorlo
The bison tartare is outstanding. Cumin forward, a delight to eat.
N C
This was a tough one to rate. The pot roast was quite good, really melt in your mouth. The duck was just soooo fatty and chewy I couldn't eat much of it. I sampled two beers of which both were disappointing so I went with an old fashion, which was strong and delicious.
The service was slow and after some deliberation we ended up complaining about the duck...of the two pieces, one was...edible at the best, the other just not gonna happen. Manager was nice about it, she did comp the duck and we were offered some small desserts as a good gesture. The waiter seemed guniunely sorry as well.
Maybe it was an off night considering the rave reviews?
Cassandra Jacobsen
Excellent near zero contact take out experience! We ordered the glazed pork chop, the halibut, the gnocchi, with a side of the brussels sprouts and the honey cream cake for dessert. It was all incredible! Food was warm, well cooked and packaged in a way to avoid the almost inevitable sogginess. We will certainly be ordering again. It was a treat to have a delicious meal we didn't have to cook.
Michael Gauer
Great lighting, great food, great pace, great service. Cool ambiance.
David Edison
This place is awsome. The food is so good. Service is great and the coffee is perfect.

I got to visit Minneapolis for my birthday, I was treated to Spoon and Stable for dinner. And what a treat it was.
The atmosphere was delightful and energetic - even at 9pm! Everyone was very professional and courteous. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly when we had questions about the menu. I got the impression that I would have enjoyed anything we ordered.
Our dinner was nothing short of spectacular. Each course was delivered with perfect timing - allowing enough time to savor each unique flavor. The Beet tartine, potato gnochi, and our entrees were all divine.
The Honey Cream cake brought the house down, for dessert, and they even treated me with a ball of cotton candy the size of a balloon because it was my birthday.
I'll be stopping here every time I make it back to the twin cities.
Ken Ouren
Just stopped by for dessert and drinks and both were fantastic
Sarah Irish
This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Brunch menu is great, but less impressive than the dinner menu. They have a fantastic cocktail bar, but I don’t think you can get the full menu at the bar (though everything I’ve had there is delicious). I’ve been a few times and already have a reservation to go back. It’s hard to get a reservation so make sure you pay attention to when they are going to release the month if you have a specific date in mind and want to eat in the 6-8 pm range (usually early in the month before).
Erica Davis
An amazing dining experience. From the service to the decor, I knew we were in for a treat before we even tasted the food. The spinach cheese curds were an amazing treat. Loved the gnocchi and wagu steak. Such a wonderful way to spend our anniversary.
Brady Davidson
I was very impressed with our experience! The waitress displayed knowledge and conviviality with every question we had on the menu! The food was delicious and coursed out to our satisfaction! I had ordered a Rusty Nail, and it was one of the most tasteful cocktails that I've ever had! I strongly recommend this place!
Roxy Santa Ana
Was finally able to check this place out.. during the pandemic. Felt pretty safe from other customers. The food was delicious (I recommend the pork chops!) & you cannot go wrong with any of the desserts made by Diane - she's a genius w the sweets!
Rachel Kahler
We managed to drop in just in time for a spot in the "Garage" to open up. It's essentially an extension of bar seating that faces a big window to the street. The spot was a bit tight, but it was full service and menu and reservations were at a premium. We each ordered a drink, and both were excellent. The complimentary bread was crafted to look like a few grains on a head of wheat. The butter was perfect. I ordered a bowl of the mushroom soup. Get it! You won't be sorry. I also got a small plate of the squash ravioli, which was excellent. I was a bit jealous of my fiance, who ordered the lamb, though. Can't go wrong either way, but I think I would go for the lamb next time. We each had a second drink, which didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert. The waiter dropped off some tiny desserty things anyway. We made room and didn't regret it. My only complaint is that seating at the garage is very tight and the stools very much encourage you not to dawdle too long, lest your butt cheeks march off in protest. Otherwise, well worth a special occasion or just a high end date night.
Marianne Wells
I read the online reviews and really looked forward to an incredible dining experience last night. Yes the restaurant is bright and open. The seating was very comfy. The staff was very attentive, and highly professional. These folks are the stars of the show. Every restaurant should have such a wonderful staff of servers. They are really focused on the customer experience. And the wait staff is completely honest in telling the guest how they like to run things at S&S. "Please order your complete meal upfront so the kitchen can schedule how plates come out". I liked that we would not wait intolerable amounts of time for the next course.
And boy did they ever keep things on schedule - almost as if it was ready before we were. The appetizers were really good. Gnocchi was amazing, as was my husband's bison tartar. The bread served with butter is fine - a little too well done crust creating crumbs, but that's how some breads are.
Where the evening didn't live up to the hype was the entrees. Now this is a rather high priced restaurant with meal for two with wine and two beers costing $195 with gratuity. The three scallops were overdone and tough, with a rather salty sauce. The striped bass - described to be lightly seared, was also overcooked - but to be honest it would be hard to get the skin crispy and not overcook such thin small pieces of fish. The sauce wasn't all that complementary to the fish in our opinion.
For each entree, the presentation was underwhelming - particularly after really being wowed by the appetizers. We also ordered brussel sprouts that were a bit overly charred and bathed in a sauce that didn't really work for us. More careful preparation of the dish, with a simply balsamic reduction would have been preferred. The creamy spinach with deep fried cheese curds was simply out of the MN Hot Dish playbook. It didn't really wow us.
I really wanted to love this restaurant because everyone online raves about it, and the wait staff was amazing. Know that it is noisy due to the brick and steel interior. It has a very poor sound system. You may hear music but maybe not. For the price, beer and wine portions are rather small.
I want to thank the wait staff for helping us celebrate an anniversary.
I would return for a light meal with just the appetizers due to the outstanding service and quality of these dishes. For the price, the kitchen under delivered on the entrees and sides in our opinion.
I think we deserve to grade this restaurant harder, because of the prices they charge. For me, a restaurant is all about the food as the reason for going there. On this night, Spoon and Stable was merely average on their entrees and sides.
Patrick Kelly
I had brunch on 5/29/2022 and it could not have been better.
The dining room is beautiful, modern elegance with a soaring ceiling and a giant skylight. The full house was on the loud side but I thought it was energetic and not at all too much.
Each member of my party loved what they ordered.
The service was impeccable. Spoon and Stable has an army of very knowledgeable, super friendly people who made me feel like a special guest.
These guys get it. I was really disappointed when Zentral and La Belle Vie closed but S&S makes it better. I hope they make a ton of money and stay around for a long time.
Zero spoons stolen.

Spoon and stable was great. I had the best trout of my life and would recommend everything- you can't go wrong at a place like this.
Peg Skold
Had Durum Wheat Campanelle with ramp pesto and shrimp tonight and it was fabulous!! Don''t be foiled by what seems to be small portion. It was plenty for two adults after cooking. The pasta was tender and beautiful. Flavor perfect and cooking at home ensured a nice hot presentation. We'll be back soon!!
Mary Tucker
Very cozy bar with wonderful cocktails. We celebrated a birthday with Cotton Candy Ball!
CoryAnn K
I had brunch here on Sunday and was quite impressed by the pastry chef. All the pastries were cooked to perfection. We also ordered some main courses for lunch and everything was on point. The lunch prices are very reasonable and the staff is very attentive. They even gave us a special birthday treat.
Matt Peterson
Just wow. My wife and I love going out to fun places on the few times we get to go out. She had heard amazing things about Spoon and Stable so we had been watching Reservations for the Chef's Counter experience for awhile.
Pricey, but holy cow was it worth it. Right up next to the kitchen, getting to watch everything getting prepared and getting served the food directly from the chef's themselves. Great food, great atmosphere, maybe a bit spendy, but for a rare fun date night experience, I'd highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
Scott Miller
Great environment and very delicious food. The servers were very nice and helpful. The food and drinks were expensive, but that is to be expected with the quality of the food. I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion or if you just want to treat someone/yourself to a special meal.
Jason Stripling
The restaurant was very loud. Service was slow. We were seated very closely to other tables so there was no intimacy as we heard everything the table next to us had to say. Food was good but for the price I'd choose somewhere different next time.
lockstar milwaukee
Great experience. Amazing staff. Great food.
Matthew Kemmetmueller
Just dined there with my wife and another couple and had an amazing experience. The place was busy for a Friday night but not overwhelming packed.
We loved the bison tartare that we opened with and the duck was next level. Crispy skin while not over cooking the breast.
Lester was amazing server, tonight I wasn't the easiest the dinner in the world and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience.
I can't say enough great things about the service and the food. Treat yourself.
John Sharpe
This restaurant lived up to the hype. We tried S&S last night and loved it! The atmosphere is hip and inviting. It's fine dining without feeling stuffy. Our server helped make the experience. She was so knowledgeable of all the dishes and ingredients. I ordered the tamarind pork chop served atop winter squash. If I could have eaten the bone, I would have! It was delicious. My wife ordered the bacon- wrapped sturgeon. Also wonderful the flavor was just perfect and the bacon did not overwhelm the dish. We ordered a side of crunchy potatoes with aioli. So crunchy and so good! We tried a black sesame ice cream with sour cream caramel, toffee, and crumbled something. It was delicious. Also the whole wheat sourdough bread was a treat as well. We left the restaurant not feeling overwhelmed but certainly full. The food and ingredients are top notch and we intend to dine here again.
Jason Hedlund
3rd time here and as great as always!! Incredible food and excellent service. Sat at the kitchen bar and got to witness the amazing attention to detail.
Andrew Zoller
Phenomenal dining experience! Excellent food, service and ambience. On the fancier side, makes for a great date night or celebration dinner. Their take on the Manhatten is my new favorite cocktail! Also, not enough praise can be given to their fresh baked sourdough bread with whipped butter!!
Chelsie GawneMark
It's a missed bag and given the powerhouses behind and in the kitchen you would think consistency would be at work here. One cannot run a restaurant on name alone. I've had hit (awesome waiter) and miss (a snobby, dismissive waitress) service and hit (the bison tartare with dehydrated egg yolks) and misses (any of the pasta). After eating/drinking here roughly 6 times, I would offer this--go to the bar during happy hour--it's lively and fun and the staff at the bar are better trained than those on the floor. You'll get some great food but won't be disappointed when the bill comes. Excellent wine selection. This is also not a place to call for special requests even with weeks of advanced notice. I dare say I had the most disappointing anniversary dessert here ever (specifically asked not to have sorbet as my dairy free option and guess what I got on my plate...) The space is really well decorated and I like the bar area best with it's large windows and cavernous ceilings.
Tracey Fredrick
Oh my gosh, this place was so good. Decided to go for brunch on an anniversary, and Spoon & Stable did not disappoint. First, the space is beautiful. I think it might have been part of an old post office based on some of the decor. Lots of natural light, views into the kitchen, and a giant wine cellar. Second, you are offered first to order pastries, which are displayed out for you to se to help make your choices. Let me tell you, this didn't help me at all, because then I wanted all of them. You get around to ordering food and it is next level great. We tried a ravioli and a corn dish that were both very flavorful and tasty. Would definitely return.
Paul Ford (PaulPaul)
I went here with my wife for an anniversary butch and it was phenomenal. The have an amazing pastry bar that you can choose from a variety of things to start your brunch. There's a nice variety of low to higher priced brunch items available. It's a nice upscale but casual atmosphere. I wore shorts since it was very hot that day and felt right at home.

So, I don't write reviews often, but I felt really compelled to do so after my experience at Spoon and Stable last night.
I enjoy dining alone at nice places, to the sometimes-bewilderment of others. Some restaurants are better for this than others, and Spoon and Stable was excellent for this purpose. I went at 5 PM yesterday (a Saturday) and was able to find a spot at the bar immediately. After some deliberation, I ordered the pork tacos and fries from the bar menu and a Pellegrino.
The bar staff were attentive and the service excellent. The fries were fine but I didn't care for the flavor of some of the seasonings which was truly personal preference, but when I didn't eat many of them, the bartender asked me what my opinion was, and I was honest that they just didn't suit my preference. She quietly comped them, which of course was above and beyond my expectations.
Overall, the food was incredible (yes I had dessert as well as the complimentary treats they provided afterward), the service was awesome, and it was an easy atmosphere for dining solo. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone who asks for a recommendation and I will definitely be back.
Emma S
Food was unbelievably tasty. By far the best meal I’ve had in weeks. A little on the expensive side, but the price is made up by the great taste. The service was friendly and attentive, however it did seem a bit slow at times. I would definitely return again, and would for sure order the butternut squash ravioli again... yummy yummy yummy!
Kimberley Pizza
The food was excellent. Perfectly cooked, lots of flavor and unique combinations. I loved the atmosphere, open kitchen concept and trendy. Service was good. I wouldn't recommend the desserts. They were different and creative, which I liked, but wasn't wowed with the flavor combinations.
Mike Milburn
We hosted a customer dinner on Monday night and loved it. I've probably been here 50x with customers and every time simply gets better and better. We will be back. The service and attention to detail is amazing
Richard Liebhaber
Check this place out! The bison tartare is really good. Oysters were on point. The pastas are fresh. Meats are cooked on a wood burning grill! Desserts are savory and delicious. The staff is very attentive and polite. If you are one of the fortunate ones, you can get seats right next to the kitchen and view your meals being made.
Zack Kahn
Oh my goodness the brunch here (although Dinner is a 5-Star as well)!
As always we received incredibly friendly and responsive service from the moment we walked in the door. This was our first time in to the restaurant for brunch our server did a wonderful job guiding us through the menu. All of the menu items are unique, original takes on classic items - and everything is prepared fresh in house (from the bacon to the breads).
The real star of the show here is the pastries. We loved that you can get up and walk over to see everything that is available (like at a bakery), and then you just fill out a card at your table (Dim Sum style) and they bring you out your items.
Also - everything here is CRAZY reasonably priced for the quality. Pastries are what you'd pay at a bakery $3-5 (and are better). Entrees were generously portioned and ranged from $14-20.

Food was great but we felt that everything was rushed as people are waiting for a table

World class restaurant!! Food is phenomenal, service outstanding and drinks are wonderful.
Current Menu don't miss items:
Bison Tartare is amazing. Perfectly seasoned!
Wild Nettle Gnocchi - YUM YUM YUM! Don't miss this.
Creamy Spinach - Because, cheese curds....
Crispy Potatoes - beautiful crispy potatoes!
Old menu items:
Highly recommend the pork chop, Maple Leaf, spinach and potatoes. Everything was wonderful!!
Damien Riehl
The food was really amazing. My orecchiette was delicious. And the wait staff was superb, very attentive and kind. It was our anniversary, so they provided to a free dessert.
Liz Bloch
We ate at the bar because we didn't make reservations in advance. The vibe was fun qnd unpretentious. The service was incredibly efficient and personable. The food was excellent and a joy to savor. 10/10 recommend the steak tatare.
C DaCruz
Food was amazing some of the best food I have ever eaten. Great atmosphere comfortable seating and spacing as well as on-point decor. Staff all professional our waitress was very ontop of things and helpful. We had a beautiful evening thank you!
Recommend the valet also it's very convenient!

What an experience! Beautiful venue, meticulously prepared food! Georgian orange wine a must try!

An enjoyable dining experience within the downtown area. Spoon and stable has a beautifully designed restaurant. The Interesting dishes were presented well and more importantly were quite enjoyable to eat. There were several interesting cocktails and the bartenders were able to match wines with the meal. I do not believe you can go wrong by dining here.
Liz Smithson
We went here for a Christmas/anniversary celebration and it was incredible! The service was fantastic and the food was out of this world. I highly recommend saving room for dessert, as they were delicious. We made a reservation way in advance and I recommend doing the same, as it is not always an easy place to get in!

Decent enough but definitely does not live up to the hype and it’s not worth the difficulty to land a reservation. Plenty of better dining options in the area - the food here is thoroughly average.

Our company hosted a small, executive dinner at Spoon and Stable, complete with a demo and story from Chef Gavin Kaysen. The experience was exquisite, and the restaurant was impeccably hospitable. I stayed after dinner for a cocktail at the bar and received great service and a beautiful cocktail. Amazing and beautiful restaurant, super clean, incredible food, and staff who truly care. Worth the price!!

Got the curbside pick-up veal lasagna dinner package and it was incredible!
It was ready right on time, came with easy directions for baking, and was a fun activity during "Stay at Home".
The runner was wearing a face mask and gloves when he brought the bag out, and the whole experience was safe and simple.

Really exceeded our high expectations. Creative use of fresh ingredients, especially in the seasonal Gin & Tonics. We were stuffed after dinner, then ate two full desserts (pineapple tiramisu and the key lime pavlova). Can’t wait to return!

So first things first, as this a highly upscale fine dining restaurant, you would need to reserve a table well in advance. I did my reservation a month back, so plan well ahead. I loved this place, it has such a classy vibe to it and our seats were right where chef's were preparing live food. So it was interesting to see all the ways they were decorating every item on the menu, plus all these fresh ingredients and stuff. The food flavors were really nice and our service was amazing too. They have a valet parking right next to them, which is again a bonus. So go out there and enjoy your special night. :)

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food was phenomenal: flavored and cooked to perfection. Very creative and interesting menu. The portion sizes were also perfect. Excellent wine selection. Service was also excellent. This is not a cheap place, but it's worth every penny. Perfect place for groups or a date.

Fabulous experience! Beautiful ambience, exceptional customer service & tasty food. I would highly recommend to try their deserts. They do have few vegetarian options on their menu. Worked out great for me and my wife.

The food is spectacular. The spaghetti Nero may just be my new favorite food. The aged ham starter was salty goodness that just melted in my mouth. The beer list was a bit lacking. For all the good local breweries we have around MSP I was expecting a more representative selection. The wine list is massive and will surely have something for everyone. The ambiance is lively and the setting is very open.

I liked the set up of the restaurant with open kitchen. Service was exceptional, I found the food to be okay, Deserts were great. The experience dint feel private as the tables were very close to each other and felt like you were sitting on the same table.

Man where do I begin. I had high expectations walking in this place and boy did they exceed them. Everything was absolutely phenomenal, from the drinks, wine selection, food and last but not least the service. Everything was top notch. Keep up the good work!

I've had brunch here more than once and it's always very good. The pastries are amazing! Service is always fantastic. The low rating? For dinner. The food just wasn't that great. Of the four things I tried none of them were anything to remark on. I won't be going back for dinner.

Spoon and Stable deserves its hype. For all meals it's food is quite good, and it's open, airy, bright space is wonderful. The servers are some of the best in the biz, and I'm always amazed at how good they are at knowing when to show up, and when to just let the table eat.
Brunch though, brunch elevates their good food tenfold. I know restaurants hate the brunch gig, but Spoon & Stable has it down pat. I've yet to have anything bad for brunch, and their pastries are beyond good. Lastly they have the best coffee in town, hands down. Do yourself a favor and go.

Very boujee overpriced place. Food is not bad, but not great.

Like the appetizers and desserts. You won't be dissatisfied with the food. The space is a bit crowded, but the atmosphere is nice and simple. They pull out all the stops when it comes to service. I spilled some wine on my shirt and someone got sofa and towels for me. They also went out of their way to accomodate my vegan preferences.

I like this place. If you're in the market for a $150ish dinner/drinks, this place is worth checking out. Service was perfect as expected. We had the pork chop and the duck as our entrees and would happily recommend either. One of the best top tier restaurants in the metro. Been around for a while and they still care about the experience.

Let down. Perhaps by my own expectations. Went for a birthday dinner. Made a reservation noting the occasion and asking for a nice table. Almost got sat in the back by the kitchen until I said something. The Parisian gnocchi was delicious. I had the lamb chop. While it was very tasty it was a single, pitiful lamb chop about the size of a meatball. I'm accustomed to fine dining and rarely complain about portions. Desert was delicious and service was ok other than the hosting.

10/10 recommend for brunch in Minneapolis. Would recommend the quiche and pot roast hash, very delicious. Excellent service as well. Cheers.

Quaint environment, delicious food, good service. I'll be back for brunch again next time I'm in town.
PS get the quiche

Good food from an obviously talented chef but a little over complicated and pretencious.
I ate here as part of a corporate group while visiting the city so didn't really get to experience the full ambiance of restaurant as a normal customer.
The waiting staff were pleasant and attentive with a good knowledge of the menu and were happy to offer advice.
The menu itself was interesting but a bit fussy. Each dish having one or two ingredients too many. The food was presented well, considering the overly complex nature of the dishes, but portions were a bit on the large side for this type of food. There's only so much Bison Tartare a person can want no matter how good it is.
Overall I would say this place could be great but let's itself down by trying a bit too hard.

Great food (sourdough bread was fragrant, the portions were appropriate, the presentation was refined). Staff attentive to food allergies. Staff should be trained to not take bread plates away after bread service. The bread plate is needed to lay down fork and knife. Don't like that more than one waiter waited on me. This created a lack of continuity. Very crowded in the evenings, noisy atmosphere.

The food here is absolutely amazing! Awesome duck breast and veal! The bison tartare was a new experience but delicious. The waiter was extremely helpful and gave good guidance too.
Desserts were brilliant as well.
Worth every penny!

Definitely recommend stopping by we weren't particularly hungry but were in the mood for a dessert so we ordered two ( can't remember the names) but they were amazing. I also couldn't leave without trying an appetizer so I ordered the tacos and so glad I did they were delicious. I live in Houston so unfortunately won't be back for dinner but I'd recommend anyone to stop in you won't be disappointed.
