Great place for a relaxed, laid-back lunch. The line was very long but it was well worth the wait. I got the crayfish and shrimp po boy. I will say it is on the expensive side, but the prices are congruent to where it is located. The po boys are HUGE! Unfortunately an order of fries is $9 which is incredibly expensive for fries. There is a great selection of beers too. They also have ice cream for $5 a scoop!
Service is fast and efficient and staff are very polite. Highly recommend!

Stopped by after work with my mom because I was craving Sea Salt Eatery. Enjoyed delicious food and wine. I have not been disappointed yet. Head on over to enjoy the falls and grab a bite and drinks.

Such a fun seasonal place. If you love seafood this is the place for you. I love the gluten free options they have but just a heads up they only have about 4 items on the menu that are specifically labeled gf. If you go on a nice day be warned that the line can get long, but the staff works hard to move through it as quickly as possible.

Sea Salt is one of my favorite outdoor summer destinations. The seafood is always fresh and delicious! I had the Mahi Tacos with calamari app at my last visit. They also have a great selection of beer and wine. Don't let the long line scare you away. It always goes fast plus you can get a beverage to sip on why you are in line. And after your meal you can grab an ice cream cone and take in the view of Minnehaha Falls. Highly recommend Sea Salt!!

Sea Salt Eatery is the perfect spot to stop for lunch on a bustling weekend afternoon at Minnehaha Falls. The line is long, but the food is worth it. Lots of fried, Cajun options. The perfect summer comfort food served up in a scenic location.

We don’t eat seafood often enough, so I was really pleased to be in the neighborhood at a moment when Sea Salt was open. Had a plate of oysters, crisp salted fries, the “sexy ahi burger with horseradish sauce” and two plates of enormous tacos… really, the tacos are like mini burritos, they’re well stuffed. Everything great. Wanted one of the gorgeous beers off the list, too, but that will have to wait for another time. Ate outside. Loving life. Thanks, Sea Salt team!

We had a great lunch at Sea Salt and enjoyed sitting on the benches outside. It's too bad that Minnehaha Falls has dried up, and we could not enjoy the view. The Eatery closes on October 9th for the season so this is likely our last visit for the year.

Sea Salt is always a fantastic choice for dinner on a nice a summer evening. The line is typically long a really nice days but the wait is always worth it. The food tastes fresh, there’s an array of hot sauces to choose from, and the view of Minnehaha Falls from the patio is lovely.
Tiffany Rupp
Awesome seafood. Food came out fairly quickly and was very tasty. The fish was well done and the crab cake was perfect.

Near end of the season visit...the Sea salt cafe was fun. It was a bit of a challenge to find parking. Next time I would love to try the catfish. I ordered calamari. They serve alcohol here. The Sea Salt also has really cool t shirts for sale. Beautiful location here in Minnehaha Park. Grab a drink and venture to view Minnehaha Falls a cascading waterfall.

Gorgeous backdrop, surprisingly good shrimp po boys (compared to NOLA even) perfectly done dash of hot sauce, one dice of the bread is sprinkled with Cajun seasoning and the other tartar. Quite delicious.
Char Terrana
Used to be great. Not so much any more. Food has gone downhill, they’re out of menu items seemingly often, condiment bottles are sometimes empty. But still a great location and fun on a summer day.

Had lunch at Sea Salt today fir the first time. We ordered plenty of food fir the table and everyone shared. We had the fried oyster po boy, the catfish po boy, the fried clams, the fried scallop tacos with an amazing corn salsa. Everything was so good and fresh tasting 😋
I must say my favorite thing was the fried clams! They were delicious. I will definitely return! They give great portions fir the price
Ashley Shimp
Love! Great food and great beer and plenty of spots to find outside to eat. We like to hit up the dog park and come here afterward for a treat. So good!

Food is delicious but they really need to redesign their whole ordering system.
There’s always a massive line to order food (about 15-20 mins long) and then once you get up to the front, you realize it’s because they have one person taking your order down on a paper notepad and then they physically pass it onto one of the open cashiers… which begs the question, why can’t the cashiers just take your order? Especially when there are multiple cashiers yet only one “order taker”? Honestly, I can’t help but think that it’d be much more efficient if they adopted the QR code ordering system that many restaurants have in place now. Where you have a sign at the table with a QR code associated to a specific table number, you order through the online system and the people bring out your order when ready. Then instead of having cashiers who stand around, they can all be food runners and run the food orders to the tables.
Anyways, the food is good. We ordered the Crawfish and Catfish Poboys and both were delicious! They have a wide selection of beers and wine inside the main pavilion where you order food, and a limited selection of beers and wine in the extended pavilion area. But i would say you should expect at least 30-40 minutes from the time you get in line to when you get your food.

Fish tacos is a must! Also the shrimp tacos . If you love oysters definitely get them there!
Anita Schneider
With outdoor seating spread out in the park, live music, great seafood and drinks, Sea Salt is one of our favorite restaurants to visit during summer months. I love the crispy fish fingers with coleslaw and the crab cakes. There’s a drink station in the dining hall so you can have your drink without queuing. Great for families.
Stacia Stone
Sea Salt is an amazing space to share time with others. The open air environment and (extremely) close distance to Minnehaha falls makes dinner and a stroll very easy.
I’d say it’s biggest strengths are its summertime novelty and character, and many staff members who were wonderful. But, in exchange, it was rather pricey, even with large portions.
Katie M (FirebyMisFire3)
So yummy! The batter is light and fluffy, perfectly seasoned and it comes out nice and hot! They have a nice array of beers on tap. A must try for a midday snack. It's a little pricey, but the quality of seafood and sides are on point, so it is worth it.
Marcelo Ramirez
Quick trip to the falls was awesome they had beers on tap at 10am for my mini vacation gentleman also let me sample one before buying asked about wait time was short had fish tacos mahi tacos they were tasty n was good outdoor seating grab a number and they bring it to you while I enjoyed time with the family worth trying and will be back!
Karen Olson
Such a summer treat to enjoy the great food and scenery at Sea Salt at Minnehaha Falls. The crab cake was delicious! Lots of crabmeat, very little filler. Served with a grilled corn salsa which added a bit of crunch and just the right amount of sweet! Was there around 1:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. Perfect timing. No waiting in line. Plus, after a little walk, you can go back and enjoy some Sebastian Joe's ice cream. Yummy!
Maria Linn-Evans
This is such a fun place to eat in the summer - I love the location in Minnehaha Park. The calamari is my all time favorite that I always get, but I enjoy the peel and eat shrimp and catfish po boy as well. I'm taking off one star because the wait always feels long even if you go on a weeknight. But I'd you're okay making this a longer outing, it is a great place to visit.
Greg Pfeffer
Always worth the wait! Great seafood, excellent beer options, bustling atmosphere and right near Minnehaha Falls!
Seth Siegel
Delicious lunch with an almost as delicious view. The crab just melted in my mouth and I would give my left arm to have it again
Jerrold Robaidek
I only write reviews when the place is worth it. This place is worth it. Great seafood, great setting, great value. I'm glad I don't live in St Paul, or I would be here all the time. Great job.
Jennifer Temke
Delicious meal in a beautiful park. The fried fish is amazing. Calamari is also delish, but always sells out early!!
Paul E
Great place to sit outside and have a beer. Beautiful views and great breezes. Plus you are a stones throw from the Minnehaha falls. Great area to hike around. Can't say anything about the food because I didn't eat there.
Keith White
Ok, this place is the BOMB!! First, got a 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell and plate came with 7. The. Waitress brings another plate of four more that I didn’t order (gave them to me free).
Also had the crab cake sandwich Which was tasty. Nice beer selection, too! Add all this together with an incredible patio view = I will be back!!
Timothy Danielson
The first time I ate here it was SPECTACULAR. I wanted to try food from both places I wanted to do my LCB externship, Sea Change and here, Sea Salt. Of the two, only this one is open. With business like they have, I doubt that they have anything to worry about! Great food, Fair prices. Be prepared to wait... the food is DEFINITELY worth it! May I suggest having a glass of wine with whatever you order, it will actually help carry the flavor, and TRUST ME, you will WANT to SAVOR it! But, sip slowly, you are NOT trying to get drunk! That would detract from the taste! If you are concerned, something light and not too sweet or heavy (creamy) will serve you well.
Todd Houger
The food here is really good and the location within Minnehaha park is perfect. Everyone knows it though so order early and they will text you when your food is ready for pick up. The fish taco was super good.
Stacey Davis
Sea Salt is Minnesota Summer on a plate…We come 1x a year and have for past several years. We try to come during the MN State fair so the line isn’t so long.
I agree with the other reviewers - it’s time to update their ordering system…It’s very inefficient and awkward. Even without a major line, we waited over 35 minutes on a weekday afternoon for our food.
We ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos - delish- my child, the Calamari appetizer basket - which was generous for $14- served with a tiny slice of lemon and a sweet Remoulade Sauce… we also ordered the special - Shrimp “think Lobster” Roll. Plenty for shrimp, but the dressing was tasteless and bland - no hint of lemon or old bay- disappointing - I will stick to the tacos next time.
It was a hit and a miss with the food this time, but the atmosphere is friendly and warm.
We will be back again next year and cross our fingers that they figure out a better way to take orders…the pandemic created some useful tools for clogged up lines and safe distancing, let’s hope they make some changes…
Kunal Madhok
Had the grilled catfish and fried fish sandwich. Liked the grilled catfish with tomato, lettuce and tartar . The fried fish was good and crisp. Great place to get a bite after a walk in the park. Love the place
Danielle Tadros
Very over priced. We got a fish basket, fries 9 bucks and calamari and it was 50 bucks. The calamari was just ok, and chewy, and the fish had no taste, came with very bland Cole slaw. Also the ice cream is super small one scoop 5 bucks 7.50 for.two tiny scoops. It's nothing special. I spent almost 100 on food for my kids and really the best part was the falls. Next time I'll just grab a beer, that can't be bad.
Leo D
Given all the hype about this place I heard, I left disappointed. Ordered fried fish and grilled mahi tacos. Too much tortilla relative to fish. Everything was on the under-seasoned side for me. On the plus side, they kept unnecessary toppings to a minimum. Nothing was bad, just forgettable, and I wouldn’t go back.
Jessica Murphy
Delicious!
I wasn't sure what I wanted so I asked one of the people working what they recommend and they suggested the scallop tacos. They were wonderful. My son had the walnut burger and really enjoyed it. Service was fast and great!
LaQuisha McKinnie
Visited this place for the first time, it was really good. I'll definitely go there again.
Mark Madigan
Such a great afternoon. Normally the line is long, but only about 10 deep today. The weather was perfect and we ordered quickly. Food was delicious. I ordered the special Shrimp Jambalaya. My only complaint is that a $14.95 dinner was served on a piece of waxed paper in a plastic container. The waxed paper started to disintegrate halfway in the meal. I ended up eating waxed Paper with my meal. They should use compostable plates for the more expensive entrees!
Jeff E
60 years and I finally made it to THE falls. Well worth the visit.
Simply one of my favorite meals since returning to the cities. Had the special, which was a New Orleans cajun BBQ shrimp over rice/corn that was so wonderfully seasoned. On the side, an order of calamari. Nicely done and flavored.
Joel Collette
Well.... Starting with the location, it's situated right next to beautiful Minnehaha Falls! Beautiful park setting. Absolutely delicious crab cake basket, using Real crab! Not imitation as far as I could tell. The fish sandwich was incredible! Flaky and crispy on the outside. The red beans, rice and andouille sausage was scrumptious! There's also a very friendly staff! The only thing about Sea Salt is get there fairly early.... There will almost for sure be a fairly long line! Great place worth the wait!
Andy Holmaas
Sea Salt is an excellent establishment. The menu is strictly sea food but they do a very good job with it. The beer selection is fantastic for a spot in the middle of a park. All local options. The layout is wonderful. High stool seating indoors and a large patio and picnic table area for consumption.
Da'Lacie McGrew
Food is really good, however they are on the pricey side for an outdoor restaurant. Lines are almost always long and there is typically a 30 min wait for food. So don't go hungry but its a must try! You won't be disappointed!
Bridget Burke
Very friendly workers, food was beyond good!!!!
Chuck Pittman
The opening of Sea Salt Eatery is always the sign of the beginning of summer for me! With a large menu of Seafood including my favorite dish the PoBoy. The serving are huge so don't worry about being hungry afterwards. They have a great selection of tap beers and wine available to accompany your meal. The line to order might be long especially on weekends, but it moves fast so don't worry. They are now offering online ordering which cuts down on the time. Enjoy the Minehaha falls before or after you eat!
Uzma Ali
Fried fish and fried fish tacos are the best 😍 go early because they tend to run out of fish and other goodies. By the end of the day they don't have a lot of ingredients left. …
Brian Viengthong
The line as expected was long. Give your self about 30 minutes of standing before putting in your order. We got the 2 orders fried fish tacos (4), calamari, catfish and house salad. The food arrived at are table within 10 minutes, pretty exciting! I also got the strongest IPA and lemon cider, delicious. All this to feed four adults and two kids for $60.
Marx Domah
Open air. Great food. Long wait and long line sometimes. Still a must-go and great food. Customer loyalty makes this place place what it is. Totally unbelievable how simple and old school this place. I’m just glad to go to a place and be myself. No high tech, no bs just people like myself making great foods that I love. Where else would I want to be on a Friday evening than sea salt. Just aloft the wonderful Minehaha Fall and surrounded by massive park you can feel free to enjoy the endless space.
Katie Wellons
We went there yesterday afternoon and the wait to order wasn’t too long! The broiled oysters are delicious but they take a while to make. And the eat and peel shrimp is so good!
Mariah Tallent
Had the walleye fry, shrimp curry, and oyster po' boy. The curry had an unexpected sweetness that I really enjoyed. Hard to mess up an oyster po' boy. The walleye was the stand out and had amazing flavor and the fry on it was immaculate. despite a smaller menu and covid restrictions, a really lovely place for lunch. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I feel it was a bit overpriced.
Ria L
Loved it! Just moved here and saw numerous good reviews for this place when checking out the local parks, so decided to walk the Minnehaha Parkway to visit. They were very friendly, even offering to bring water out on the patio seating for my dog without me even asking. I always expect seafood to be a little pricier than other types of food, but I got the fried calamari and fish tacos, and for the amount of food, speed of service, and how good it was, I thought prices were very reasonable. Best part, it's literally IN a park, so you can walk around and relax before or after eating. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
Audra Tschida Dietz
The Minnehaha Park Pavilion that houses the popular seasonal restaurant "Sea Salt" is an open friendly, inviting place to eat, listen to the falls and people watch!
Be Warned - Please be prepared to WAIT for quite while for your food, in the food line, especially on the weekends!
The Sunday that we went there was ONE food line that snaked back out and down a trail path from the pavilion! We estimated that the food wait was well over an hour! There needs to be more Order Isles in my opinion to better serve the public!
Our family didn't eat here today, however the food is good!
We just purchased alcoholic drinks which usually consisted of a short line, maybe 10 minutes tops so we could stroll about the park.
They have several local beers on tap - Surly, Bent Paddle, Indeed and a couple more. They also have wine taps - A Sangria, Cabernet, Penot Grigio and maybe 1 or 2 others.
Very good simple choices but the prices are a bit spendy, so be prepared.
As for the bathrooms, they need to seriously keep up with the popular use of them, especially with those who have little kids. I'm not sure who's in charge of them but on busy days... I'll just say that they need to be checked often.
The Minnehaha Falls right now are spectacular! Since it's Spring they are running fast with a loud roar. Parking is $4.50. The views and trails are open so take the time and enjoy!!
Kelsie Smock
Such a gem hidden in a breathtaking location! Order at the counter, find your seat, and enjoy the view of Minnehaha Falls! Servers will bring your food right out to you!
Sea Salt has a vast menu of fresh seafood fair. Shrimp, fresh fish, calamari, and more! They also have craft beer and wine! We ordered the peel and eat shrimp, pineapple curry with shrimp (on special), grilled mahi mahi tacos, and the fried fish basket which came with homemade coleslaw and fresh melon! Everything was outstanding and very fresh. My favorites were the fried fish and the curry special. I cannot wait until our next visit back to the twin cities, so I can visit again!
obie brown
A real Minnesota treat. Excellent seafood in an idyllic setting. Everything is amazing here but my 2 favorites are the BBQ shrimp (it's a special so not always available) and the bay scallop tacos(regular menu item). They have an impressive turnaround time from ordering to getting your meal as well. You can't go wrong here.
Pavel Ushakov
One of my favorite places for fresh seafood. I appreciate the fact that they close the Restaurant during off-season months. Delicious fresh crab cakes and fried calamari are my favorite. A must with a cold beer!
Coyote 50
Outdoor dining at its finest. Delicious seafood while sitting across from Minnehaha Falls. After walking down to the river, we had fried oysters (they were out of the raw) peel and eat shrimp, and watermelon gazpacho. They also have wine and beer. Sea Salt is one of the reasons summer is so special in the Twin Cities.
Julie Taeko
I ordered the chicken tacos and they were soggy and lacked flavor. I had to add salt and hot sauce to make it taste good. Plus, the tacos were so soggy I couldn’t eat the majority of it. However, the Louisiana rice and beans with hot sauce added to it, tasted much better and made me full.
We were lucky to go around 3:30 pm when there was no line. But during lunch or closer to dinner time, the lines becomes extraordinarily long!
Patrice Montpetit
I tried everything each of us got but I would definitely reorder the fish and chips…even the cole slaw is delicious. I didn’t feel guilty eating deep fried fish because it was so delicious and the covering was very light. We will return very soon. Yum 😋
Debra Hofland
Shrimp Poor boy .... Loaded with shrimp, really good (!!) remoulade sauce. Bun was actually "too big" & heavy (I prefer smaller amt of & like three texture bun for a poorboy). Would eat this again!
Brenna Lybeck
Had the fried scallop tacos and WOW. Taste explosion in my mouth. My boyfriend got the beer soaked mussels and those were also delicious.
Leslie Diaz
Sea Salt is only open during the summer months and is located in the Minnehaha Falls area. The food and drinks they serve here is amazing and all local. Minnehaha Falls is worth a visit by itself but coupled with eating at Sea Salt really makes your evening.
Michael Paulson
Always great food and great people love this place must go if in the area and like seafood
d Dubs
So much fun, amazing laid back environment, staff was phenomenal and the food... the food was out of this world good! If you need good seafood in your life, you need to go here! I cannot wait for my next visit!
Dave Cecchi
Here's the deal with Sea Salt - I'd simply say that when the weather is dialed in and the music is on, Sea Salt is WITHOUT QUESTION my favorite restaurant in the city. Even without those conditions it is always near the top of my list. For a beer or a bite. It all works.
So yeah the lines. I'm talking like 2 hours standing death march for a po boy. A po boy?? It's just a sandwich. DAMN RIGHT PEOPLE!!! GET IN LINE!!!
Notes
- The FRIED FISH PO BOY is amazingly reliable and simple and perfect
- The CRAWFISH PO BOY is what I wish I could go back and serve at my wedding or my high school graduation garage party thing that my mom made me have fancy fruit tarts at.
- Thursday evening and nothing to do? Try this: get on your bike, ride to Sea Salt, order CLAM FRIES and a BEER and be ready to PINCH YOURSELF because no you're not dreaming life really can get this good.
- CRAB STUFFED AVOCADO?? Don't mind if I do. Good for sharing as a 'side' if 2 or 3 of you are eating something else.
- CRAB CAKES? I mean do I even have to say how perfect these are?
- I go po boy over sandwich
- The SPECIALS are pretty consistent (red beans/rice, the pecan catfish thing, etc). They're all good. Duh. But they're basically always available.
- Nobody is confident enough to order the SEXY AHI TUNA BURGER by name.
- CALAMARI and SCALLOP TACOS are both good. I'd skip the others in favor of other menu options.
Pro Tips
- GOOD LUCK WITH PARKING consider riding a bike
- Get a beer while you wait in line - there is a diff line for beer
- Tables are first come first serve and the good tables go to the bold my friends
SEE YOU AT SEA SALT
Brian Osweiler
We love this place. The line is always long, but I think it’s worth the wait. I’ve liked all items that I’ve tried, especially the varieties of fish tacos.
B Rod
Great place to grab some seafood fare with a few other options. Great outdoor patio seating right by the falls. Enjoy your meal and take a stroll around the park.
Pictures are of fried scallop tacos and red beans and rice.
If its busy be prepared to wait but it's easy with the scenery.
Brooke Clark-Thomas
Everything on the menu looked scrumptious 😋. I was excited to try the Crab cakes and omg. Thin breading and alot of crabmeat. The corn was perfect. I was able to taste the shimp which was amazing as well. …
Nader Banilohi
Probably one of the best places to be outdoors and enjoy some chill seafood right next to Minnehaha Falls. The Po-boys, Calamari, and Fish Tacos are all clutch! Don't forget to put some hot sauce on everything!
Warning: The wait line is long, which only shows you that the food is really good.
Becky Degendorfer
If you are lucky enough to find parking, don't let the long line dissuade you, it moves quickly. My fish basket was crispy and flavorful. My friend had the shrimp basket and she also enjoyed her food. Sea Salt serves beer (Surly) and wine however, if they don't have your fav, there were several beer trucks onsite. Beautiful setting with ample seating. Will go back.
Shawn Wermerskirchen
THE BEST fish tacos and seafood in the city. This is a place where you get fresh delicious seafood options like tacos and poboys. They even have fresh oysters and specials rotating all the time. 10+ beers on tap plus wine and cider. Not to mention an amazing patio just steps away from minihaha falls. By far one of my favorite spots for date night or just a casual meal with friends. Enjoy!
Romy Vreeland
Menu is exciting, food didn't quite live up to my expectation, but was solid. Nice selection of drinks, absolutely awesome location. Would definitely return.
Kathryn Campaigne
The setting and staff are amazing. The beer is also delicious. I think we just ordered the wrong things, we ordered the chilled peel and eat shrimp and the fried fish basket and they were both awful. I would go again without a doubt
Erin Rose Hennessy
My mom's favorite restaurant! We love coming here. Food is excellent (especially love shrimp tacos), the atmosphere is nice, and taking a walk to the falls and along the stream is a perfect cap to the meal.
Miranda Byars
It was a total accident finding this place & it’s the last day they are open for the season. Delicious!! So much food in each portion. Yummy beers & great atmosphere. Adorable, definitely a must visit.
Tyler Winter
I love Sea Salt. Get the Crawfish Po Boy. The crawfish are prepared like popcorn shrimp, but taste better. Best sandwich I've ever had. I've gotten it 20 times and it never disappoints.
suzanne douglas
Great beer, seafood & outdoor vibes. Takes time to park, order & get your food because it’s so popular. Well worth the wait!
Allison
Cute place. Lots of seating. Dog friendly
Calamari was good but tad too salty
Robert Sedillo
Fantastic food!!!! Location is lovely especially during a nice sunny day. Nice beer selection although they could use some room on the beer selection.
Brian Moen
If you avoid peak hours, the line really isn’t bad at all. And even if the line is long, get a beer and relax. The food is worth it. Highly recommend the grilled catfish po’boy
Steve Sawczyn
Being from the east coast, I miss good seafood, however this place is like going home. The food is fantastic, prices are fantastic, portions are beyond fantastic, if you like seafood, you won’t be able to help but absolutely love this place.
Kathy Litt
Love Sea Salt. A get away in the heart of the city, good music, watch the Falls, hike the paths, and to the river, bike rentals and bike paths. Great place to bring out of town guests. Great food! Calamari tacos!
Brady Burton
Food was decent. Little pricey but very safe during these CoVid times. I reccomend if you are in the area the tacos were amazing
L.D. Ayers
Tried a little of everything! Great place to sit outside surrounded by big trees and soak up some sun. Everything tasted fresh. Wouldn’t recommend the fish tacos but I did enjoy the shrimp poboy, calamari, and crab cake.
Milan Koppen
Nice big patio right next door to the Minnehaha waterfall.
Great beer selection.
Long line for fried food.
Friendly staff.
Vish Bhagwandas
An amazing spot eat around the park. My girlfriend and I came here before exploring the park for some beer and food. We got the fish basket and mahi mahi tacos - both delicious! Beer selection is great as well. Definitely worth a visit
Junior Lindsay
I enjoy this place very much. Beer and ice cream is great. Disclaimer a bit over priced for some food items on the menu. I would recommend and definitely recommend the place. Also be warned the wait is usually 45 mins to place and get your order.
Barbara Dozetos
Unbeatable ambiance and the food is grea! Plan to wait in line. Bring friends, so you can take turns holds spot in the food line and going to the beer line.
Matt Gregg
I just love the vibe here. Live music, local crowd mixed with tourists. Line is long but the food is actually pretty great. It’s just a good place to be in Minneapolis in the summer. Super easy to get to on bike trails.
Carissa Botton
Such a fun summer spot. Friendly people all around. Lots of dogs. The long line is worth it (especially if you grab a beer to drink while you wait).
Roger Hankey
Located in Minnehaha Park shelter. Outdoor seating. Large portions of cod in the fish taco. Good lunch.
Alethea W
So delicious! Lots of people and dogs but we didn't have any problems finding a spot to sit. Lots of good beverage choices and areas where you can buy them, so if you just need a drink, you don't have to get into the main food ordering line, which can get long (but is still pretty efficient). Ice cream line is also it's own thing. I got a fried fish po boy which was super delish and my partner had fish tacos. we shared some calamari, also delicious. It was way too much food for the two of us. My biggest complaint was that they were out of raw oysters. It was really hot out and I wanted something more along those lines but they were out and it was like 12:30 on a Friday afternoon, they had only been open for 1.5 hours. Whats up with that? Lovely setting in Minehaha Park so I will be back and with any luck they will have some oysters on offer.
Wade Van House
A summer must do. The seafood is fresh from Coastal Seafood and is prepared expertly. Everything on the menu is good!
lito xydhuf
Love their food & service. Price also decent. I just wish it wasn't so cold so we could seat outside. We'll try again next time!
George Boehmer
Didn't really know if/how to respond to my visit to Sea Salts, but here are my thoughts.. First off, I ride bike by there alot and couldn't wait to try it.
My wife and I were riding on 08/10/22 stopped in for lunch.
It was right after opening, no line yet.
I was very impressed with the ambiance.
Walked up to counter ordered 2 fried catfish Po boys, even though basket of fries were 8.95 which seemed excessive but thought maybe something special about these fries?
OK, now young lady at counter without any smile or emotion whatsoever says 50.26, It didn't add up so I asked her and she pointed to a small note on the register about fair wages. OK, but 15%????
I'm all for fair wages but does everything they charge go directly back to employees which would be great or does this up charge go back in the company pocket. If the 15% of that upcharge goes back to employees, wow I want to work there. Think about it, 15% of the total for the day!
Ok, went outside, food came rather quickly and very impressive presentation. Alot of fries, more than we needed, they could offer smaller order but guess then they couldn't charge as much then.
Although our po boys presentation was great they were tasteless not good or bad.
Then my wife needed to take her medication so I went to the counter and asked for a cup of water and the young ladies at the counter pointed out the door and said "outside to left is a drinking fountain" as they smirked about it.
We ate our sandwiches and about 1/4 of the fries and left.
My thoughts are, They need to be transparent and let people know before they get to the counter that there is a
15 % upcharge.
By the time we left, there was a line going around the bldg. Needless to say I won't be back.
Burt Scott
Wonderful seasonal food kitchen with wide variety of foods. Outdoor seating in a beautiful park in South Minneapolis.
Søren Petersen
Great surroundings, chilled atmosphere, and the best fish we've had in a long time. Recommended!
James “jimmyjames” McNamara
I can’t wait in line. I’m too impatient. Luckily early spring mixed with cold temperatures
and it’s early in the day I didn’t have to wait. Walked in, ordered and ate. Love the food. Does anyone remember the the Crab Salad plate from last year or am I confusing it with something else? It was it there at the menu yesterday. Still the best food any day. I recommend the Crawfish Po Boy. My friend got that and I can’t wait to get one myself. Maybe I’ll go today it’s cold and it’s early.
gina quad
Relaxed, inexpensive Cajun style seafood & craft beer. Huge line where you drink beer & socialize before you finally order. Outdoor seating with music along the waterfall in Minnehaha park.
Jessica Irish
We went there for an early dinner after a few hours of checking out the park. The staff was awesome. They were polite and laid back. The food was so good. The pic is the soft shell crab sandwich. It was delicious. My party also had the delicious and crunchy clam fries, spicy but tasty crawfish po boy and my 6 year old devoured the kids fish and loved it. We would definitely come again.
Jill Braun
I had the ahi taco awhile back and it was fabulous. Cant wait until spring! Will definitely come back again
Tim Dolan
One of my MN summer traditions. A walk through the falls and creek, capped by amazing food and a cold beer from Sea Salt Eatery.
Food is above average for MN seafood in a casual setting. Great takes on classics and delicious daily specials.
My personal favorites are steamed scallop tacos, crab stuffed avocado, and crab cake basket.
Be prepared to stand in line on beautiful summer days during prime eating hours. 30 min in line is not uncommon, but it's worth it. Meet some people and grabs some beers to pass the time.
Rebecca Slater
My absolute favorite thing about summer in the Twin Cities is Sea Salt Eatery at Minnehaha Falls. Make it a date- with mom, dad, brother, Sister, friends, coworkers - just make it happen.
If you go around 11:30, you might beat the line. If you do get stuck in a line - go order a beer and enjoy it in line! It moves quickly.
Go for a walk down to see the falls - or sit on the south side patio and you can hear them! Get the calamari or peel and eat shrimp to share. I tried to eat all the shrimp today and I’m stuffed full.
Josh Morrison
This is a wonderful place to eat, and it is located directly in Minnehaha Park which is awesome! I really enjoyed the staff's courtesy, and the grilled swordfish is phenomenal!
Michael Metzler
The food is decent enough, but Sea Salt is about so much more than the food. The staff, the service, but especially the view. Go for a short walk along the tail end of Minnehaha Creek to where it flows into the Mississippi, grab a beer for the food queue, then pick out a table under the trees. (Many new tables have been added-- about time!) Simply wonderful.
Kavita Ramlochan
The portion sizes are big. The food here was delicious. Definitely recommend this place.
Leigh Allen
Pretty good. I'd go back, but it wasn't as good as what people have raved about. Had calamari, walleye special and crabcake platter. Crabcake was the least "worth it" item.
Patrick Morgan
Food was good but it was cold when it was served. The line was super long. Waited over a half hour to order. Then it took a while to get the food. Good concept but I think improvements could be made to better stream line the process.
Matthew Erickson
Yum! Great, fresh seafood, giant patio and nice tap list, a summer must! For not of the best food in turn, follow @FancyDinnerClub on Instagram and check out FancyDinner.Club
Timothy Walker
Look out for long lines, but expect fresh seafood beautiful al fresco & waterfall!. Beer & and ice cream have separate shorter order lines. Best to go right at 11am when they open or on a cloudy day.
Pamala Mc Creary
Fish po'boy was delicious and plenty to serve 2 adults!
Nick Morison
Great fried seafood in a family environment. Beer selection is very good. If you don't show up early, expect the line to be quite long. There is a separate, short line for beer so you can enjoy a beverage while you wait in line. Depending on what you order and how busy it is, the wait time for the food can be long as well. Go enjoy the falls or another beer.
Callme Drood
Tucked away in the middle of a park this is a very relaxed and easy going place to grab a beer and some good food. Everyone in my party got something different and it was all perfectly cooked and well seasoned, just dont ask for fries.
Michele Volkenant
Excellent food, fast service, wine is spend. Great outdoor tables in a lovely park setting.
Bill Hackett
My first time. Awesome food! I'm impressed.
Ellen T
What a fun place to visit! We got ice cream on a hot day, but it was worth the visit! The ice cream was awesome and it was fun to walk around the park and see the falls after.
Sarah Kennedy
This place is a family favorite and well worth the wait you may experience. Can't beat the beautiful scenery, food, drinks, and sometimes music!
Nick Schneeman
Great little spot for a seafood sandwich and a beer. Outdoor seating. Everything is open air. Highly recommend the soft shell crab sandy if you can get it before they run out. Otherwise grab a crawfish poboy, you won't find anything like those offerings anywhere else in the Twin Cities.
Jay Coleman
Looked like a decent menu but I already had dinner plans. Thankful for a cold beer after a bit of a walk on a hot August day
M J (nzeroesc)
Sea Salt as always did not disappoint. The calamari was well prepared and my usual catfish basket was very delicious. It really speaks for itself.
Claire Parlette
This place is so fun. I love a place that has a decent line! It’s where the people are at! Got the oysters, crawfish po-boy, crab cake, and scallop tacos. The crab cake and po-boy were amazing. Such a fun place to chill outside, be in no rush and enjoy the weather.
John Farrell
Consistent, high quality and delicious. Strong emphasis on seafood. Great patio under the trees in a big, beautiful park
Joyce Malle
Love this place. Food is always good. The long lines are worth the wait.
Josh
Very good food, and huge portions, just what you need to get the energy back from a fun day at the park or even before hand to motivate some steps. Loved this place. Had the shrimp po boy and clam fries.
Andre Mudek
Long line for food. Beer sold by different vendor. No wait for beer, so grab one and get in line. Bluegrass festival Labor day.
Brian Keller
Food was excellent. Would have gotten a 5 but it was a little pricey. Beautiful scenery.
Kat Sodawasser
Came here from out of town and it was a very enjoyable, unique experience. The clam fries were delicious, shrimp po boy was pretty good, fries were okay, and calamari was a little underdone. Very busy but liked that we were able to get a beer while we stood in line. Beautiful location and unique dining experience. Would definitely go back if we come back to the area.
Linda Brown
Got there early so no long line. Good selection. Lots of opts for wine and beer. Food arrived quickly. Plenty of outside seating. Beautiful surroundings.
Tamarack Brohaugh
Good food, Bad lines. Great root beer + lemonade, and a iconic restaurant for sure.
Bee Shindou
Cozy date spot. Beautiful even at night.
Kimberly Gilhousen
Amazing! My food was so good I ate it before I could take a picture! The PO boys are spot on and the atmosphere is wonderful. Service very good.
Megan Lindsey
Nice location. Food is average. They could improve by expanding their flavor profiles and seasoning the dishes more.
Michael Leipold
Love going to Sea Salt. Super fresh seafood, beautiful park setting and portions are ample and reasonably priced. There is always a great beer and cider selection that is primarily locally sourced.
Zach Davis
Awesome place, awesome food. Try to catch it when they're not so busy.
S. Bacon
I've been going to Minnehaha falls for many years. Love the place, its a jewel on the city. Sea Salt is awesome ! I like to bike the trail down to the river.
Donald Phillips
I feel like the business is leaning on its prime location too much by charging a lot for good (not great food). Also, I wish it was a little more family friendly: turn down the trendy music inside and provide a better food value.
Sherrita Niles
Some of the best seafood I've had in a very long time. There was a decent wait in line and for food to arrive to the table but the flavor made it all worth it.My love and I watched the Vikings game on the available screens. Staff was friendly and the price was very reasonable. As a visitor I was impressed to find an actual seafood restaurant amid a state park! I expected it to be a concession stand with snacks and beverages as if it was a movie theater or fair. Man, was I shocked. Food was extremely flavorful. I totally forgot to photograph my food!
Jubilee
It was a big chunk of white fish between the small sandwich bread with good coleslaw.
Simple but so fulfilling and it’s $6.95!!
ryan cleland
No frills sea food classics done well. Including oysters, pickled herring, and fish and chips. Ample patio seating with views of the park.
Jitka Vaclavkova
Very good food but long wait. I would prefer to pick up my meal at the counter and not to sit outside and get a cold food...
Tamara Peterson
Love Sea Salt! Great location with the Falls nearby, walking paths, and if you catch it right a concert in the park! I almost always get the fish tacos and they never miss. Huge portions for a great price. And even when it is extremely busy, you get your food pretty quickly after you order. Only downside is it is so great that the line to order is usually pretty long! Paid parking nearby isn’t too expensive which is great.
Dheenu Sivalingam
Nice little restaurant serving food for people visiting minnehaha park. Good selection of sea food.
Amber Crowley
The oysters were great and I had the fish tacos which were also very good. I also loved the atmosphere, we sat right out on the patio/deck just by the falls. We could really tell this was a local favorite spot as it was very busy. We had a great time and would recommend to others.
Robia Wagner
Very good Mahi taco! Fresh garden veggies for the garden salad was primo.
Kristen Ferrari
Incredible service recovery! Celebrating a birthday; ordered oysters, fried shrimp and mahi tacos. The oysters were perfect!
We waited an unusually long time for the rest of our order, so finally went to check on it. They brought out the shrimp and tacos but they’d sadly been under the lamp too long.
Within minutes of returning the cold tacos to the kitchen, we were brought fresh ones, as well as fresh shrimp and even a complimentary beer 😁😁
Cheers to you, Sea Salt!!
Beatrice Kehinde Joseph
The food and atmosphere are awesome. A little seafood haven in the middle of the park, usually with great views, live music, and various events and family-friendly activities nearby. Quite literally everything, from the po'boys to the clam fries are delicious. There are a couple vegetarian/vegan options and plenty of drink options as well. There's a lot of seating, in somewhat close proximity, but it tends to fill up fast and stay full during peak hours. Wait time after you order is usually around 20 minutes, give or take a few.
Kent Levi
What's not to love about this place. Been coming here since it opened, and it's always one of the highlights of my summer.
Harris Kleyman
Excellent food and great service! A gem hidden in the park.
William Heinen
I don't normally eat here, but this place is a sanctuary for those of us who live in the city. As close to paradise as you're gonna get in Minneapolis ♥️😊 …
Nabil Zeineh
A beautiful place to spend time in the summer. Outsoor seating amongst burr oaks and the minnehaha falls. Nice beer tap selection. Tasty food menu. Grilled mahi mahi was excellent
Sam Margolis
Arguably better than most seafood restaurants in the Twin Cities. For sure the best calamari and oysters I had this trip. Also the best pickled herring
Christina Motel
This is not your average park concession stand. Move aside hamburgers and hot dogs Modern savory flavors here we come.
Quick service nice day on the patio lunch dinner places. Couple minute walk from waterfalls. You won't be disappointed stopping here to eat. Everything so tasty fish. Tacos & coconut curry. Modern flavors that will keep you coming back. You have to try it when you're in the Minneapolis area couple minutes from the airport.
Daniel Randolph
Worth the stop. Great beer selection. Best place for fried seafood. Might be the best fish tacos in the state. The location cannot be beat, right next to Minnehaha falls
Ryan Smith
I would recommend this place for the location alone, being adjacent to the Falls. The food was INCREDIBLE - I highly recommend the calamari appetizer.. she had the Thai curry and I had a fish sandwich, and both were delicious!
Frances Mendenhall
This place is very popular. Everything is seafood. Fish tacos, scallops, oysters (sometimes), craft beer. Order and pay at the counter. Dining is on the patio or in the pavilion. Because it is so popular the wait for your food might be longer than you would like. This is a place to relax, sip your drink and enjoy just being in a beautiful, shady park that's like 10 degrees cooler than the city streets.
Nate Sockness
Great food. Usually pretty busy on the weekends but they do a great job of getting the food out as fast as possible. You will see a long line of people waiting to order and think wow this is going to take forever but it really does not, the line moves pretty fast. Great scenery where the tables are close to Minnehaha falls.
Mark
Ordered the fish basket, fish tacos, and fries. Good amount of fish per order and fries were excellent. Coleslaw was subpar. Fruit was a slice of cantaloupe.
Good fast service even though it was busy.
Sophia Hortman
Food was delicious. We got calamari (cooked perfectly, not chewy), fries (good, but why order fries when you could get calamari!), scallop tacos (delicious, perfect amount of spice, good amount of veggies and sauce), crab cake sandwich (so good, I liked dipping it into the sauce that came with the calamari), and oysters (small, but fresh and delicious). Eating on the patio was amazing, the oak trees were beautiful and the service was so so nice!
Krista Meyers
We love this spot. Our favorites are the bay scallop tacos and the calamari 😋 …
Morgan Skugrud
A little slice of coastal heaven in the Midwest. Great seafood flown in from the coasts, cold beer, good views, and all within a gorgeous park. Make the wait a bit more bearable by grabbing a beer before. It's worth the wait - you won't regret it!
Johanna Greif
Good food and beer and so nice to sit outside in the park! Staff was lovely and had good recommendations! trust then when they say the scallops tacos are the best :)
Shelley S
Delicious fresh food, usually busy but worth the wait. They have a good beer selection. We enjoyed our dinner in the park.
Becca Robbins
Sea salt is so fun, the location is perfect for families or a date night. There are lots of great local beers on tap. We live close and have had sea salt many times and the food has been just ok, the fried fish is great, large pieces and crispy, but we've been disappointed by the tacos on numerous visits. If you visit on the weekend be prepared for a very long wait.
Johnny P
If you're hankering for some seafood, this place is the spot! Just had the scallop tacos and they were amazing. Definitely worth the trip.
Alise Noel
One of the best seafood restaurants in the cities. Their patio is huge, second to none with the sound of Minnehaha Falls in the background. The oysters are fantastic, catfish po'boys are enormous and perfectly seasoned, they have great Minnesotan beer and wine on tap... It's a fantastic spot!! Only good things to say.
jon hinton
Absolutely love this place. I have never had better crab cakes, and I have eaten them on both the East and West coast and these are by far the best I have ever eaten.
Earl Netwal
Long lines to get to counter, but they move pretty fast. Great addition to the park.
gregory seaberg
One of the few places to get good sea food in the twin cities. Most of the offerings are fried but there is a variety of options for the health minded as well. The standout for me is the Po Boys. Especially the fried crawfish. The falls make for a picturesque backdrop as you eat. Just be prepared for a long line.
Talicia Jackson
It's a nice date spot. They have alcohol beverage (Surly station). They also have food and a area to rent bikes.
GoDro
Beautiful area with the ability to load many senses abundantly...
Concession style service, live music and the slight roar of the falls made for a great experience.
Mark Yackley
Located next to Minnehaha Falls, Sea Salt is one of the best outdoor dining destinations in Minneapolis. All the seafood options are top notch.
Laurel Green
Food is always amazing! I dream about the scallop tacos all winter while they're closed.
Bradley Gropp
I have lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and try to make it to sea salt at least 2-3 times each summer. It's such a great spot. The prices aren't the most family friendly, but if you know what to order, you can get your money's worth. For a family of 4, I would recommend 1 order of the calamari appetizer plus an order of scallop tacos for each individual (1 order comes with 2 tacos). I specify scallop because not only are they my favorite taco at sea salt, but you usually get the most content in the taco, making them more filling. The shrimp tacos aren't as filling. The fish tacos are filling, but not quite as tasty as the scallops.
Note for staff: I love, love, LOVE cilantro, but sometimes the tacos can be a bit heavy on the cilantro.
Mark Silberg
Great seafood even better setting in the middle.of the park.
Joshua Korwin
Just finished lunch with my mother.
The seafood stuffed avocado was good.
The crab cakes very average.
The unpeeled shrimp unimpressive
The only reason I gave them three stars is the staff are phenomenal.
The food is not worth the price.
Scott Deyo
I love Sea Salt! First, and of greatest importance, is they know how to cook seafood. Their menu, for being in the heart of the Midwest, it's pretty broad, focusing on what feels to be New Orleans or Louisiana cuisine. On our last visit my wife had a crab cake basket, and if you know good crab cakes, you can get a good one here! More crab, and less filler in these! I had one of the specials of the day which was Cajun BBQ shrimp. This was served spicy, which I expected, served on a bed of rice, and a fresh green salad on the side. There were six large shrimp, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. They have soft shell crab sandwiches when in season, and they have a variety of Po boys on the menu. Fresh oysters rotate based on what's good and what's in season. Plus they have a few things on the menu for those who have smaller people or may not enjoy seafood, or maybe are even vegan! As for the venue, you can't beat it! The restaurants sits in an old WPA-era pavilion within Minnehana Park in South Minneapolis. Seating is mostly outside and is within a stone's throw of Minnehaha Falls. There is really no place better to sit on a summer evening, sipping a local beer, and enjoying a plate full of fresh seafood. I never get here as much as I really want. Please note they are seasonal... they shut down in the middle of our Minnesota winter, so get there while you can.
Kirsten Hoffman
I finally had the opportunity after a long time of being in area when it wasn't super busy. It is lovely to eat in the park but we ordered the ahi fish tacos which were dried out and completely lacked flavor. Maybe it would have been better if we had ordered something fried. Very disappointed given the hype this place receives.
Ellery J
Sea Salt is a nice place to have lunch after hiking or biking.
O. Komarenko
Great food, nice seating, within long of sight of the beautiful falls; though gets awful busy. They work fast and have 2 separate ordering lines - one for food and one for drinks, which does speed things up. But i wish they would have had more then one actual cashier at each line. On a busy day it took 35 minutes just to get the food order in. Then it was out in 10 minutes, so the kitchen and staff workh fast.
We had a great time, all in all, and it's the only place and time my tweens would touch seafood!
Jennifer Childs
Was looking forward to trying their oyster poboy but unfortunately they were sold out. The New Orleans-style BBQ shrimp however were an excellent consolation prize. Needed a little more seasoning aka salt but very tasty and well cooked, not over done like so many places tend to do with shrimp, so very plump and juicy.
Long line almost scared us off but it moved at a good pace and food came out when we were about half way through our margaritas.
Caitlin Mallon
Everything I've had here is delicious. And pretty reasonably priced.
Chris Valenty
The best outdoor restaurant for seafood in Minneapolis! Our favorites include the Calamari, Fried Fish Tacos, and Fried Crawfish Po’ Boy!
Carrie Leipzig
Love this little restaurant. They were extremely busy but still provided good service. The food was delicious. A couple of favorites to suggest: fish tacos or the crabcake basket. The concept of this place is unique and enjoyable and prices are reasonable.
Maria Heshmat G
The clam strips are so sweet, and meaty. You can actually taste the clam, vs just batter. So tasty!
Katy Friends
Go for scallop tacos or calamari tacos. Grab a beer. Then go see the Minnehaha Falls.
Ray Novotny
Excellent Ahi Tuna Sandwich with salad & Delicious Scallop Tacos !! ~
Isaiah Walker
The food is a little bit pricey but the portion sizes more than justify it. The atmosphere is pretty nice with the falls so close by. Parking was a bit of a struggle but it was a nice walk to the restaurant. I recommend the grilled catfish po-boy.
thomas oss
Observed a Beatle at the base of an Oak tree just outside the patio seating.
Got down and listened closely. I believe it was buzzing "Let it Be"...
Richard Gale
We ate here because we were on vacation and had come to the park to explore, hike around, and just hang out. Had no idea this place was here, but we decided to try it. It was a strange experience since only the patio was open (COVID-19 and social distancing and all that). So instead of getting a menu and ordering from a server, they had us ordering directly from as little table in front of their outdoor beer taps. Then they seated us at a picnic table outside. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the service was friendly. A little pricey for what it was, but the food was good. My wife was very impressed with her crab cake and how little filler it seemed to contain. I had an oyster po-boy that was good. The kids enjoyed their fried fish and black beans and rice. I suspect the place may be a little more comfortable when they are doing indoor ordering and regular seating, but I don't hold that against them in these unusual times. I thought the prices were a bit steep for a menu of mostly fried seafood, but they seem to be popular, so maybe it isn't so unreasonable for fish in this area.
Joyce Kovacs
Really good fish. Other items also popular such as the fried shrimp. Baskets include fruit and coleslaw. Prices up a little to cover increase in food costs. Worth the trip.
Scott Housman
Great food.
Fast and friendly.
Needs cleaning outside.
We'll be back.
Emma Boudreaux
Awesome and any kind of food you want they had it. I had an amazing time.
Thad Drietz
Good food. Was a little pricey, but perfect location and worth a try. Had the catfish.
Daniel Anzanello
Good craft beer options for such a small place.
Skip the food line (which is often around the corner) and go to the checkout line for you suds
Natasha Jenson
Just the best. Especially now they have the extra beverage station midway on busy days.
Robb Krueger
The food is decent, but the lines are long and the prices are a little high for what you get. Still, the atmosphere by Minnehaha Falls is why most people go.
Marsha Frank
Best fried shrimp anywhere! Nice selection of beer and wine. Beautiful setting among old oak trees and Minnehaha creek and falls.
Katie Kay
One of my favorite places to eat and enjoy the scenery of Minnehaha Falls. The food mouthwatering, the atmosphere is very laid-back and each employee is happy to help. It's close to the airport (10 minutes), Sea Salt and the gigantic/historical park should be on everyone's must visit list!
Kellie Riley
As someone who doesn't eat fish or seafood I can honestly say it was so delicious! I had a veggie burger and my friend and I shared fries. I normally eat meat but I would definitely have a sea salt veggie burger again! And you can't beat the location!
Shari Strack
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing atmosphere! Consistency is key in a restaurant, and this place had it!
Cristaly
The food is super amazing. Lots of variety within seafood. great portions. Good gradual spice. The specials change a lot! Oysters, shrimp, the best Calimari ever.
If you're hoping for something that's not seafood you will be out of luck!
The two tacos that come in taco meals are STUFFED. The crawfish po boy overflows with crawfish. The cocktail sauce is really good! The fried oysters are very.. oystery (that's good!) Great for sharing or going by yourself.
My only complaint is that there isn't that great of a selection for non-alcoholic drinks (Coke products, Minute Maid Lemonade, House made Unsweetened tea).
There seems to be a ton of beers on tap, some wine, a margarita (no salt on the rim but my peers said it was still good).
Def the kind of place where you want to make sure you're ready to order once you're at the front, they're efficient and friendly :)
Sara Rodesch
Sea Salt is an annual trip for me. Its always worth the wait for fresh seafood. The Shrimp tacos or Po'Boy are my go too choices. You get lots of shrimp and the condiments don't overpower the flavors. You really can't go wrong with whatever you order.
Tom&Robin Lucas
Fun place to eat. Quite a line to order and wait for it to be brought out. Tastey.
Andy Lundell
This is a really awesome place! I haven't been to many parks with food stand, let a lone one with outstanding brews and food. Definitely swing by get some beer, tacos or catfish and walk around after!
Karen Villalva
This place is awesome. Once you eat then take a walk through the park.
B Sheff
Food is great but the staff is very short and rude with the customers.
Michael Freeman
If you have the opportunity to get the special I highly recommended it seems like they always put a little more pizzazz in stead of the same old same old that they always make.. but I have never had a bad meal here. Everyone of the meals I've had here have been excellent.your choices and wine choices are great and make a good strong drink when you want one.
Gianni Quilici
Seafood galore! If you’re already at Minnehaha Falls and are hungry, don’t skip this place! If you’re not at Minnehaha Falls but you’re craving delicious seafood, make your way to the falls and enjoy your time outdoors. Plenty of seating within the park and inside the attached building.
Colin Fahey
The seafood is great, and the tacos really stood out as the best offerings. Location is prime with proximity to the Falls and play areas, with live music occasionally (though not loud enough to hinder conversation). Drinks are standard but a decent selection to pair with the meals. A great spot to sit and enjoy the weather and company outdoors.
Eric Massie
We had 2 different poboys (oyster and crawfish). They were cooked well and flavorful, but, we both found the spice to be a bit hot,l. That took away from our enjoyment and we aren't people that have "Minnesota palates" for spice; we can normally take a good heat.
Susan Smolders
I had the Walnut Burger and it was stellar! I also had a cup of rice and beans - labeled as soup, but it wasn't soupy at all, just rice and beans. It was fine, but could have used a bit more flavoring.
Alex
The food and beer selection is perfect. It is strictly sea food (as it should with a name Sea Salt a seafood eatery). The Fried Fish Tacos were right on point. Not over cooked or full of batter after taste. Perfect establishment and place to cool off after walking around the Minnehaha Falls. Highly recommended
Steve Mesmer
Nice day, shady spot under wonderful Oak trees. Good food as always but long long wait..45 mins to get food after ordering.
Ravi Potes Mangra
I ordered the Calamari and the Scallop Tacos. Ordering was really fast and I got my beer right away. There was a long wait but they are incredibly busy so I cannot fault them for that. The best things in life are worth waiting for. The food came out looking great--I am very critical of the optics as well as the taste. The food definitely delivered on both accounts. I would definitely recommend if your looking for fresh seafood mixed with a perfect outdoor patio area to enjoy your surroundings.
JP Maguate
Biked here with my gf and the doggo after seeing all the rave reviews/mouthwatering photos.
Great selection of brews on tap. We also ordered lemonade (do not recommend, tasted like it came from a powdered mix for $4).
For the main meal we ordered Calamari, a Fried Oyster Po Boy, and a Fried Catfish basket. Of the three, the Po Boy was the best of the bunch. The calamari and cat fish didn’t have any strong flavors that burst through all the breading. Where’s the paprika or chili powder that goes on any good ol’ fish fry? The sauces were also lackluster, and overly sweet. The tartar sauce was missing that explosive burst of fresh dill, and the calamari dipping sauce, too sweet. If I were to come back I’d love to order the Clam Fries and another Po Boy. Solid 3/5 and a beautiful day spent at the falls!
Razi Ahmed
It's always fun going here with friends and family, it is filled with good energy.
The tacos are good to share and it's everything else.
Jacob Messing
Loved the food. Good price, great atmosphere, and good food. What more could you ask for? The only down side is how many people are there trying to eat and how stuff sells out.
eric gore
Excellent fresh seafood prepared just right. The fried shrimp basket was the bomb among with fresh melt in your mouth catfish basket. We will be back again for both the food and Minnehaha falls.
Amy Swenson
We grabbed some oysters and a crabcake. It's a great place to enjoy nice weather outdoors and visit the falls a short distance away! Highly recommend for an afternoon!
SAKSHI GOPAL
Awesome place. Gets really busy on the weekends. Sit out on the patio even if it takes a bit of time to find a place.
The sandwiches are good, so are the rolls.
I tried the batter fried oysters and that were good but could have been drained better.
When in line, you will see a menu on the outside and maybe make up your mind, but as the line snakes in, be prepared to be blown away with the film menu on the board...
Hope you are good with making choices....
Curt Proud
Good food and service at a reasonable price, and a nice location.
WAYNE STRONG
We went Labor Day and had fun. Sea Salt has really good food(try the catfish) and good beverage choices. Labor Day it took 70min to park. The Sea Salt line was 45min long. Best to go on days with less expected crowd. Always very fun people to talk to around the park.
Peter Goldberg
Wonderful atmosphere with live evening music in beautiful Minnehaha park. This place gets very busy after 430 pm, so come early to beat the lines. There's plenty of space in the mostly communal seating, so it doesn't feel over crowded. The food was fine, but being vegetarian means that I can't eat most of their menu. Prices are fair given the wonderful setting.
David Bradee
Sea Salt restaurant never disappoints us. Our mussels were delicious today. They are so good they sell out fast. Every other item on their menu that we have had over the years was fantastic! Be prepared to wait in line to order. Those that discover this oasis of sea food delight in the park are happy to wait. They also have an impressive selection of beer and wine. They are only open for part of the year. Make it a point to get there. If you love sea food, you will be delighted.
Todd Troha
Fantastic atmosphere (Minnehaha Falls Park). Fresh food well prepared. Good beer. Reasonably priced. Fried catfish po-boy was delicious. Fried oysters basket was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.
Yen Dang
Simply the best. Better than all the rest. But no kidding, their fried oysters and calamari are the best. Spendy but worth it!
Matthew Hanrahan
Delicious food, friendly staff, and quick service. The only downside is the seating areas are a bit dirty (it’s mostly outside seating when we were there given COVID protocols), but I would think tables should still be wiped down after customers.
Madelyn Shafer
Hear me out…..who goes to a fried seafood place and orders a salad? I do and it was amazing.
Madeline Strom
We tried several items on the menu. The fish tacos and the fish curry are both delicious and very special. The prices are higher reflecting the unique park location, and you should be prepared to wait quite a while for your food. For those reasons, 4 of 5 stars awarded. I would definitely go back mostly because it is so lovely to eat at the park.
Arielle Courtney
This is one of my favorite places to eat in the summer time! The food is spectacular - I usually get the bay scallop tacos, but literally everything is great. The portion sizes are awesome and well worth the price. Good beer and wine selection as well. The one downfall (hence 4 stars instead of 5) is that there is usually a super long wait during most normal dining hours and on weekends. However, if you know what to expect and grab a drink while waiting in line, there is no reason to rush! Beautiful outdoor seating options on the deck facing Minnehaha Falls. A great way to celebrate Minnesota summers. Bring fido as well!
Aubrey Olsen
Always delicious. Be ready to wait in line!
Udell T
Thumbs up! The best Ground Walnut Burger (vegetarian) anywhere! My family ALWAYS order fish! During dinner time you can stand in line for an hour +! However, it's worth the wait! It's also pricey!
Thomas Jones
Good food, great location. You can park anywhere around park, but it'll be a short walk at minimum. You stand in a long line to order, get your drinks, then sit outside at tables for them to bring food. Had calamari and scallop tacos, not bad. Relaxing great evening if weather good. Have beer and wine. Expect about $60 for two people, drinks, appetizer, meals, tip, parking.
Silka Schreiber
Love sea salt. Good food and nice outdoor area
SerpentVX
It's real seafood and not that baby stuff you get from fast food places. It's crunchy and chewy and you're gonna like it. The worst part about this place is the line, which says a lot if your worst feature is that too many people like you.
Ashlee Stine
Food is great. Only a couple options for those who don't eat/like seafood, but those options are excellent. Good beer options and ice cream available around back. Long wait in line, especially on weekends, but the employees are efficient and keep the line moving.
My only complaint is the inside temperature/ lack of air movement. On a hot humid day, it is unbearable to stand in line. At first I thought that the guy taking our order was just being rude, but as I observed him more, I realized he was overheated and on the verge of passing out.
All the doors were open but without an outside breeze, it was stifling...maybe get some fans or something.
mark lundquist
More about the experience and setting than the food, but the food still well done
Pita Loopa
Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat. Looks like they've got their full menu back. Busy as always, but well worth it. I am always impressed at their ability to pump out the delicious food.
Gregory Peterson
Good food, great experience but expensive but big portions.. like plan on splitting with someone. I'd rather smaller portions and lower pricing. 2 Fish and chips (no chips but cole slaw and slice of watermelon) a la carte and a basket of fries for $41.
Cody Ham
This is the best fish sandwich I have ever had, and for a really decent price. They have a huge hot sauce bar, which favors habanero sauces (I prefer jalapeno or cayenne) but there is a hot sauce for everyone. Bonus points for carrying Frank's Red Hot. The line can be long, but the food arrives promptly. They have a separate beer line with a decent selection so you can grab a couple beers while waiting in line. The scenery is amazing. They do a fantastic job overall.
Thomas Malooly
After walking all over the park, checking out the falls, you will be hungry. Highly recommend you try this restaurant. We had the shrimp, clams and calamari. They were all great. Additionally, they have a beer truck and crawfish truck offering you some very tasting options. When we visit again we will be coming back to Se Salt. Parking requires a small fee but is available.
Amber K
Fantastic food and staff. Love this place!
Tracy Calhoun
Went during the day on a week day. Loved the food. So delicious for such a great price! I had the scallop tacos and it was amazing and for $8 I couldn't even finish it all. Staff was awesome and helpful. Felt a little out of place for how trendy it was and it was a chilly day so it was pretty cold inside but it was fun.
Anne Clark
I LOVE SEA SALT! It’s a great place for a date. Get the oysters! Buy a shirt!
Nellie
I've never had the food here, but the beer is great and it's fun to be in the middle of the park. It has a great big patio/outdoor area and lots of room to run around for the kids or to just sit out and watch for the adults. Long lines during events or when its really nice out, but worth it if you want to just relax.
Peter Roed
Get place after a hike with the dogs to grab a bite and the beer trailer was awesome.
Matt Nasca
Absolutely delicious! Went on a Wednesday at 5pm and it was not super busy. Wait for food was about 20 min; there was a guy playing music which made the time go by quickly.
This was our first time and after reading about the wait some days, we decided to get all the things we thought looked really good. We had fish tacos, shrimp poboy and crabcake sandwich, all of which were fantastic! You get a good amount of food for the money. We will definitely be back to eat here again!
The falls are a very short (1 minute walk) from the restaurant. We had a scoop of ice cream and walked to the bottom of the falls (3 minute walk). You can rent bikes, up to 6 seat, and cruise the park. Parking does cost but it's only $1/hr street parking.
Imogene Wargo
Our fish was cold and flavorless. Atmosphere was super nice on the patio though
Rebecca Goldsberry (Becky)
This is a really good place to eat. I came here with my sister after exploring Minnetonka Falls. I would highly recommend getting the fish tacos. They are simple, yet so delicious. Just thinking about them right now has my mouth watering. They also have a very good selection of beer.
Brandon S
Had a decent glass of wine here while in the park.
Jon Roloff
One of the best places in town. The ambiance of the Minnehaha Falls is great, and there is a band almost nightly. The food is great overall, and service is always pleasant. There is a huge line at 6 on sunny / hot days, virtually no line during unfavorable conditions. Highly recommended.
jude g
Wish they were open all year! When they are, it's a perfect spot for an outdoor lunch. Great food, so many choices! After, a walk to the falls makes for a wonderful afternoon. There can be a line to get food but it moves quickly. Weekends are crowded, of course .
Marco Briceno
Loved sitting outside and enjoyed eating my food while people watching, I would say a little overpriced but would definitely go back to try other things In the menu. Best fried Calamari I had in a while!
Sarah Ruth
Excellent selection of seafood close to minnehaha falls. I had the fish tacos and fried scallop tacos, both wonderful and very well priced ($4-8). The wait is a little long but it was also very popular on a Sunday afternoon. Also they have separate lines for food, drinks, and ice cream so you can order drinks while you wait. Plus free water. Parking is a little difficult but paid parking is $1/hour.
B G
Was recommended. We had/tried fried fish sandwich, fried scallops (some folks in line sung praises) and fried calamari taco. The first two were the best. The lines can get long but went at an acceptable pace. They also have 3 separate liness for different things: food/drinks, beer/wine and ice cream. Also has live music. Would definitely go again.
Aurora Simar
I wish this place was open year round (though I understand why it's not) I love it here, the falls are beautiful, there's always dogs everywhere (and everyone that knows me, knows I am a huge fan of puppies) and the food is super good too! I always get the calamari tacos with a kiddie basket of shrimp and am never unsatisfied. If you live in the twin cities and haven't tried Sea Salt, I 100% tell you to get there ASAP (when they open, I mean)
Danae Bye
Great atmosphere. Good food.
Susan Larson
Sea Salt is a summer favorite. I love the crab cakes.
Karen Stout
Always good food and service. They use compostable plates. etc., too.
Geoff Enright
Wonderful experience, unique restaurant with a great park atmosphere, outdoor eating and lounging, the food was fried and flavorful, and I will come back. Good choice for drinks and if you don't go during the busiest times then the wait in line isn't too bad.
Lots of activity, nice environment around the falls and overall great for families or couples.
Henry Pham
Absolutely stunning. But it gonna take a while to get the order. Longest line I ever see at lunch and dinner time 😂 …
Daniel Randolph
Don't let long lines scare you!! The lines move fairly well. I started off 100' feet from the door and it took 15-20 mins to order. They have a drink only line that is very quick and a separate ice cream line that is quick. On a nice summer day, there is no better outdoor dining.
Papyrus Apollo
Quick service and a reasonable price, for the quality of food! I ordered crab stuffed avocado, and the crab was so great, like it came right out of the water! They use comparable dishes, so it's an easy clean up, for spots to move faster, so more people can sit and eat!
Joe Rolfzen
Location and people watching is great, one of the best patios in the Twin Cities. Food is bad, fish tacos weren't fried well so they were drenched in oil, and salsa was bland. Soft shell crab sandwich had the same problem, drenched in oil and mushy not crunchy, coleslaw was also tasteless. Better to just grab a drink and relax, or even better yet bring your own and avoid the line.
Rafael Alvarado
I can't take lunch, but DELICIOUS BEER! A very cool place!
Jeremy Hunt
Great place and absolutely love the Cajun / New Orleans inspired dishes!
John Erlandson
Delicious food in a great outdoor setting. Just steps from Minnehaha Falls. Plenty of beers on tap to choose from. Very popular on nice days, so expect to wait a bit. Enjoy the scenery while you wait.
Vinny Lamovec
One of the best restaurant experiences in the cities! There's nothing better than eating delicious seafood on a beautiful evening with Minnehaha Falls in the background. The fish tacos and calamari are some of the best deals on the menu, and if you are really hungry or looking to split something go for the pound of catfish.
Meshach Weber
A one in a million place. Very high quality food for such a small spot. Fresh seafood. Great oysters. A slice of Minnesota’s version of Americana. Go at night and just drink it in. The lines are frequently very long (up to :45!) so go before you’re hungry and have a friend go to the drink counter, which rarely has a line, and drink and chat and have a little tree therapy while you’re at it. The curries are amazing. Specials are frequently the best items. Staff sometimes seems a bit annoyed but it looks like a tough job. A very unique place that feels like at once like the late 70’s and of this time.
Adam Frank
I loved going here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I only wish I had brought my dog too. Minnehaha Park has a fun atmosphere and Sea Salt has music playing and a great energy. We ordered the calamari, excellent flavor with a tasty sauce. We also ordered the craw fish Po Boy which was great. An appetizer and a sandwich were more than enough. The only complaint was it was too much fried food at one time. Definitely going to go back soon!
LeAnn Groth
Relaxed Happiness
Great food, friendly environment, beautiful park.
Adding that although this place is within walking distance of my house, making it a neighborhood Go-To, it is an iconic, classic place for bringing out of town guests.
I think I might start having lunch here since I work from home.
Sean Zettel
My favorite food stop in the Twin Cities. The BBQ shrimp plate and fried scallop tacos are on point and plenty. Great value for the money. Location is killer, as well. Gorgeous park with a historic (for good reason) waterfall, beautiful trails through lush woods and along a stream that's all rapids, to where it empties into the Mississippi. Truly a feast for the soul.
A M
Beer, calamari tacos and steps away from Minnehaha Falls. Best calamari tacos in Minneapolis. Definitely need to stop here and try it out. They have other seafood but I always get the calamari tacos when I come here. When it gets busy, it gets busy. So expect to wait in line for at least 15 minutes if you go when they're busy, but don't worry, you can get a beer while you wait.
Daniel Harris
The po' boys are amazing. Can't go wrong with the fried oyster or blackened cat fish. The raw oysters are always super fresh. I think I had the best crab cake ever here. You order at a counter and they bring food to your table, so there really is no service. The decor in the pavilion leaves much to be desired, but there is plenty of seating outside in Minnehaha Falls Park. Pro tip: if the line is long, go to the ice cream line and get a beer before you get in the food line.
jan bymers
Arrive early for lunch or dinner as they will run out of your favorites. The catfish is lightly but well seasoned. The soft shell crab sandwich is delicious. The Thai red curry with pineapple was on point, as were the steamed shrimp tacos. Can you go wrong with anything on the menu here? Highly doubtful. Looking forward to spending a lazy afternoon indulging in some oysters and peel and eat shrimp, accompanied by a cold beer or three! An absolute gem of a place.
Megan Welch
The food is amazing!! The lines may get long, but difently worth the wait
Jake Gehler
Do not be scared away by the long lines during busy times.
The crew/staff keep the line moving and crank out amazing food.
Grab a beer and wait for some of the best poboys in town.
Tom O'Connor
Really good food, solid selection of beer and you can't beat the locale. There's almost always a line but it moves relatively quickly.
Make sure you save some room for Sebastian Joe's for dessert!
Sich Mang
I LOVE Sea Salt. I placed my order online and showed up when I was told it was suppose to be ready for pick up. Because who places an order online and shows up an hour and a half late from when said pick up time was? Received my order hot and ready on time! Great customer service and when I used their online ordering system as it’s intended I got the intended results. Hot food ready to pick up and take home to eat.
Gary Hallberg
Two of us. Fried clam appetizer was enough for a meal. Shrimp basket and fish basket were very good too. Kind of a long line but it moved fast and we got our food in a short time.
Brandon Doan
While the food was good the wait and the price diminish the experience for me. Unless you go on a day with poor weather expect to wait at least an hour in line then another 30 minutes for your food. We were lucky enough to get a seat at a table but if you are there when it is especially busy (or if people are staying longer than usual) you might have to take your food to a table further away in the park. The restaurant is very close to Minnehaha falls so there is a lot of foot and bike traffic going by as well. I think it's worth the experience if you haven't been and if you are in the area and there isn't a terribly long line I would definitely check it out.
Henry Nieberg
The wait was long and the price is a little more on the high end, but if you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is great with the waterfall just feet away and live music if you go at the right time. The food itself was pretty good, but nothing particularly special. The beer selection is also pretty good.
Alex Rose
This got pretty hyped for me, and it was honestly pretty good, but nothing amazingly spectacular. I love their atmosphere and their beer selection, and their insane selection of hot sauces is great!
Got a fried oyster po boy and some crab avocado dip. Everything needed a bit more salt...and the hot sauce did end up helping. Expensive lunch as well.
Scott Arnold
Really liked fish tacos. Atmosphere is obviously fantastic with surrounding Minnehaha Falls and park background. Don't understand the complaining about price and wait. You can do it on the cheap with plenty $7 or cheaper or spend more to get more. You see how long of a wait it can be on a busy night. If that bothers you, don't wait. Wouldn't call it the best seafood around, but for a walk up, it's great. 2 big fish tacos for $5 is outstanding.
Laurri Olson
Food was good. Long lines, but they do go fast. With live music. Great time.
Nicholas Iverson
Great place to eat due to food + experience. Sometimes (usually) long lines but grab a beer and talk to your neighbors. 2 beer wait is a long wait. Everything I've tried is excellent but I go for best value with fish tacos. About the cost of a beer.
Angel RiveraDiaz
A great walk to this location. The outdoor ambience paired with the scrummy food provided us a great experience.
Be careful of seed cones falling from the trees above the restaurant when the long line spills outside of the building.
The fish selection is vast. Enjoy! We recommend this place for family and friends. :D :D :D
Andy Burch
Have a beer sit outside grab a order of peel and eat shrimp and enjoy the weather Great spot
Rebecca Seppanen
This place has pretty good seafood and southern food. It's located right next to the minnehaha falls in the park. You can walk the beautiful park with family and get a bite to eat. They also have different wine and beers to choose from. There was also a brewery truck parked outside when I was there. There is a patio and a very large half indoor eating area and small seating inside. There is also an ice cream spot. There are separated lines for drink, food and ice cream. I got the fish PO boy it was really good. There is a wide variety of hot sauces you can take to put on your food. I'm going back next week.
Karla B
Food was ok, but the mahi tacos did not come as described, which was a little disappointing. Also, tons of cilantro. Like tons. The fries were really good but don't come with the tacos (order seperately). Overall, it was ok, but I wish there was more variety in their menu or that there were more eating options at minehaha falls area as this place doesn't really float my boat.
Crhistian Ramirez
Be prepared to wait in lines on weekends, totally worth it, especially because you can just grab a brew to pass the time. I recommend their fish tacos if you're looking for something cheap and filling. Their calamari is bar-food caliber good.
Red Spyda
Oh My 😇 very great out door eatery. There's a lake & waterfall as well as bike riding. These Crab Cakes were excellent …
Michael Kapsch
The Crawdad poboy was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had
Dean Bjork
A unique chance to view Minnehaha Falls, hear live music on the patio, enjoy beautiful nature, great salads and seafood, convenient pay self parking, and even rent a variety of cicling options. A great social point to meet friends and family in a very casual way. Food isn't cheap, but it is very tasty.
false
Huge portions of fish. Two people could definitely share. I recommend the fish and then go around the corner to get some Sebastian Joes ice cream. Make sure to get there early on the weekend, otherwise you’ll be waiting. Either way the staff is friendly and attentive.
Cory Chenevert
Sea Salt is one of my favorite restaurants. The Scallop Tacos, Sexy Ahi Burger, Calamari, Clam Fries & Chowders are all amazing...truly. Get there early if you don't want to wait forever in line & then wait a long while again for your food to arrive. All the seating is essentially outside. They have a nice selection of tap beer, tap wine & some bottles. There is also a decent selection of hot sauces along a divider half-wall inside for customers to grab & use. Live music on one side of the patio & an ice cream stand on the Minnehaha Falls side.
Steffen Ryan
First off, they have the best shrimp po boy I’ve ever had. And it’s a wonderful place to hang out outside. But, dudes, you gotta add an outdoor window for ordering. I gotta give it a lower rating because of the setup. First as a dog owner it’s a great spot to stop after the dog park, but there’s not an outdoor ordering window and you can’t bring your dog into the ordering area. The bulk of seating is outside. Second, the ordering process in general is a huuuuuge bottle neck.
Jared Wick
One of my favorite spots in the twin cities. Great food and atmosphere next to Minnehaha falls. Long lines are typical on weekends but it’s well worth the wait. Don’t miss the ice cream spot on the south side of the pavilion.
James Cavegn
Food is always on point. Service is always great. Line gets backed up but they keep it moving. There's a separate (shorter) line for beer/wine/kombucha so you can grab a drink while you wait. Love this place.
Peabarter _
I have tried this place twice now. They have solid seafood. The issue that I can't get over is that both times I waited over an hour standing outside in a line waiting to place my order. The last time I was there the two people in front of me left after waiting for an hour when the waitress told them that it would be at least 40 minutes extra to get your food once you placed your order. It is also difficult to get a nice chair with a seat back. So after waiting for 1 hr and 15 minutes to place my order, I had to settle on sitting at a dirty picnic table with only a bench for another 40 minutes to get food which was solid fried food at best. I only recommend going here on a rainy day or just before they open. FYI It took 30 minutes to find parking on a busy day. The parking lots are one way and people in front of you will sit waiting for others to come back to leave. How do you spell TRAPPED?
Laura Potter
If you are looking for a great outdoor eating spot with great food, eat at Sea Salt! The seafood was fresh, cooked well, and flavorful. I had the Crawfish Poboy and it reminded me of ones I've at in New Orleans! My whole family loved the good and atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside the open building or out on the deck. They also had live music when we were there that was an added bonus!
Emily -
If you let the line out the door keep you away, you will miss out on a creative seafood menu with an excellent beer selection.
If you're looking for hot sauce, there's plenty along the edge of the wall that separates the kitchen inside. Be sure to waddle over to the falls when you finish a scrumptious meal.
Jake O'Toole
Had fish tacos (can't remember the type of fish). Two tacos were plenty. Great seating outside the restaurant. Might experience a long line, but it's to be expected with the location. Surprisingly reasonable prices for the location and food quality.
Lucas Peterson
If you like sea food and an approachable menu, then this is your spot. The location is fantastic, situated in the heart of Minihaha Falls park. You can get decent food and eat outside. They have local craft and macro brew and one of the better catfish poboys you have ever tasted.
Often there is live fold music. This place is both family and group friendly. You may want to be prepared to wait a bit if it's a nice day.
Kate Bramigk
The food is top notch and we enjoy bringing the family to relax in a lovely patio setting. Something for everyone if you want delish seafood.
David Thomas
The food was great but keep in mind, on a nice day you may have to wait 30-45 minutes in line just to order and wait another 30 minutes to get your food. On the upside there was no line for beer so hit that one first and the second line goes much easier. We had the Jamaica Wahoo special and a simple butter lettuce salad and both were great.
Hannah W
Wonderful food at a wonderful park, the only downside is the long lines. Plan ahead of time to wait and pet some dogs, because everyone in the Twin Cities is coming here to get their fish during the summer. While most people sit outside on the patio, I’m always amused by the rotating art inside Sea Salt.
Sea Salt is a wonderful summer date spot! Once it gets cold, however, the eatery closes for the winter.
Cindy Falco
It was a great way to stop off & enjoy a great lunch while exploring & enjoying the Minnehaha Falls area. However, the batter on the fish was rather greasy (they were exceptionally busy on that blue sky, sunshiny day... & maybe that's why.
Neil Franzen
Location and outdoor seating are fantastic, while food leaves a bit to be desired. Po boy sandwiches were passable, and decently sized. Étouffée was so bland it must have been made incorrectly that day. On the nice weekend day I visited, the wait to order was about 20 minutes and the wait for food was about 45 minutes.
Melissa Cornett
The catfish po' boy and clam fries were amazing, and who doesn't love a nice food beer on a hot day?
Jairo Molina
Pretty upset that I pay full price for a glass of beer and instead of a big glass (16oz), I get a 10 oz one just because it's 10% alcohol. Is that a thing? On a positive note, they are finally offering french fries. Yay!
Laura C
Great location on the center of the park, and good food too! I had a very good mahi taco and ice tea, my daughter's vegetable taco was very good too. There was a long line to order, the food took a reasonable amount of time, and the table we had outside under a tree was a perfect place to rest after our hour riding the quad bike.
Jamie Dayton
Great, fresh seafood. We had fish sandwich, crab cakes, and shrimp po boy. All delicious. Lines are long during most hours, but great seafood, in a park, next to a waterfall make it worth it. Always a yearly stop for us.
Mac Broadway
Inside park facilities at Minnehaha Regional Park, next to the falls. Fantastic patio seating w/ great views - the park patrons, their pets & the scenery. Customers seated near the Eatery doors & all around the facilities.
🐠Menu includes seafood standards but best entrées come w/ a twist. 🍺 Beer & wine served too.
🍺 Gotta try their Grapefruit beer.
Jim Davis
Such a convenient and beautiful location near Minnehaha Falls. The food was good and the beer selection was nice. A lot of outdoor seating.
laura h
Sea salt is perfect. It's an ideal spot to stop for dinner or a drink after a walk around the falls or a bike ride. Their food doesn't disappoint and they always have a good beer selection not to mention the nice atmosphere and getting to be outside.
Cynthy Johnson
My daughter took me there for Mother's Day. I had the Fried Oyster Basket, and the oysters were absolutely delicious!!! The cole slaw that came with it was excellent as well! I'll be back just as soon as I can. Yum!!!
Ethan Schmitz
The fried shrimp po boy was amazing! Pretty busy during lunch hours but if you can get there earlier or after the rush it is definitely worth the trip! Also you can't beat the location near the falls. Definitely one of the most scenic spots in Minneapolis.
Jenny
After waiting for roughly 20 minutes, we were finally able to order. My family and I ordered the calamari, catfish basket, and a bowl of clam chowder. While the wait to order was quite long, we did get our food less than 10 minutes after placing it. It would've been more efficient had they had more than one cash register open, but I suppose the wait would have then transferred to the time it to cook our food rather than order it.
We all agreed that the catfish was fried well, although it was a bit lacking in seasoning (they do have a wide array of hot sauces if that's your thing). The calamari tasted pretty good, and the sauce was amazing; however, it was already mildly cold by the time it arrived at out table. The clam chowder was okay but not amazing either.
Overall, I didn't think Sea Salt lived up to the hype (or wait), but it was not bad and the patio space was lovely.
Larry Satrom
Local treasure offering good fish sandwiches, tacos and dinners, wine and beer, plus outdoor seating overlooking Minnehaha Falls. Lines often get long on weekends and beautiful week nights, but I have never been overly bothered enjoying a glass of wine and conversation in a beautiful setting. Ice cream stand is just around the corner.
Jason Wolf
Love, love, love this place. It's not summer until you have been to Sea Salt! Great outdoor space for fish tacos, oysters, catfish poboys, creamy slaw, fried calamari, clam fries, crab cakes and of course beer or wine. Live music most nights, and the wonderful sound of Minnehaha Falls murmuring in the background.
L B
Covid19 restrictions and still very busy. Food is very tasty and moderate in price for the good quality . Vegetarian tacos were delicious. Also a nice variety of beers and wine.
Zach Dziura
I have (almost) nothing but good things to say about this place. I have been here twice. My first visit was on a Friday late-afternoon, and yes, the line was quite long, but they had a Fulton beer truck parked outside so it was more than bearable. The second time was on a Tuesday (10/8) and there was no line at all. I’d like to counter a couple negative reviews below. Even when I had to wait awhile to place/receive my order, the food they brought out was not cold. Also, because I read the “they overcharged my card” review before returning, I saved my receipts and have confirmed that I was changed the correct amount. My only gripe is that the beer is a bit on the pricey side—think they’re all $6 inside—but if I remember correctly that Fulton truck I referred to was only $4. Oh, and in case you were wondering the food is great and reasonably priced.
Emily Fleming
So much hype around this place that I thought it would be better. Maybe I set my standards too high, because I got pretty basic fish tacos which were average. I thought I'd start with something simple, but if they can't nail this then it's a problem. Nothing wrong with the dish, it just didn't blow me a away. Not memorable. Maybe I got the wrong thing.
Evan Uribe
Solid location for a date night. I know it's a sea food specific eatery but I do wish they had some basic options for us non-seafood lovers. Wouldn't really stop me from going back though because they have a solid beer selection and great ambiance steps from the falls.
Jack Kluge
This place is the best summer season sea food place. Lots of local craft beers to get when you are waiting in line. The line can get a little lengthy but that is simple because it's the style where you order then they bring your food out to you. Dogs are welcome and everyone seems friendly who brings them. Weekdays are usually a little less busy.
Mick Ruel
Really good food for a restaurant in this location. Great choices of beer.
D “e” OConnor
I went to Sea Salt last night for the 1st time with friends and our kids The line was long at 5:45 and got worse by the minute. We stood in line for about 20 minutes with three kids- no kids menu other than a fried shrimp basket. The beer was amazing and the calamari was one of the best I have ever had. Crab cakes were so so and fish tacos were sensational. Over all I would come back but try to make a point of going at an "off" time to avoid the line. Oh, I saw some people with their own liquor brought from home ( bottled wine mostly) so had I known I would have brought my own vino over a $5.00 small plastic glass of white wine that Sea Salt had. . I did not know what to expect but over all I was satisfied.
Jeff Hancock
Their Crawfish poboy is one of my top 5 things to eat in the cities, unfortunately it doesnt appear to be on the menu right now. We ordered ahead and food took way longer than estimated. But the atmosphere is always pleasant by the falls. Got the oyster poboy, not a delicious as the crawfish but good none-the-less.
Leonard Berkholtz
Probably the best and most popular Sea Food restaurant in the area. It's situated in Minnehaha Falls Park and is always busy! It is only open during the late Spring, Summer and early Fall. There is some indoor seating, but most people eat at outdoor tables surrounding the restaurant. There is always live music in front during the Summer. The good is excellent with a varied and unique menu.
Toby Martin-Kohls
One of the great outdoor seafood restaurants in the Twin Cities. You can sit at one of the mini picnic tables around sea salt or on their patio. There is an also ice cream for sale.
Stacia Marlett
Really appreciate how cautious they are for the pandemic. Food was good, but surprised the fish "basket" only included Cole slaw and no fries. I feel like the cheap Midwestern version of the mom from Arrested Development for saying that, but it's how I feel.
Jim wogan
Great food definitely get what you pay for and then some. Service is fast and polite. Sometimes there is music on the weekends as well. Great stop and refuel spot for after the walk by the falls to the river.
Lindsey Foley
Can't go wrong with the atmosphere and outdoor dining right in the middle of the park. And the frequent live music is definitely a plus. The long wait to order was a total bummer and the food we got (mahi mahi fish tacos) was just decent, but I saw dishes served to other tables that looked incredible, so I think we just ordered the wrong thing. The ice cream station is around the back of the building, which I wouldn't have even known if I hadn't walked passed to use the restroom.
David Aussendorf
The Fish Taco and the ambiance is what I go for. Eating under the oaks. Watching people from all over the world coming to see Minnehaha Falls are worth the trio alone. Often live music and always great craft beers. Buy a beer then get in the order line. It will be half an hour so time to meet your neighbors in line.

We bought the fried fish po'boy. It was delicious. Just a hint of spice but not too much for my Minnesota pallet. It was enough to fill me up and feel completely sated.

Fantastic seafood. Outdoor seating. Set in a park. Perfect. Grab a beer (or beverage of choice) and stand in line. Expect a wait to order (30-40 minutes) then grab a seat and food will come to you. There is a separate line inside (& beer truck outside) to grab your first beverage. Order your second when you order food. Bike or walk to the park and explore after your meal (saves on the craziness of parking, too).

Lots of people so wait wasn’t that long as decided what to have from menu. Had raw oyster in the shell which was refreshing. Wish I had ordered more, will next time. Live music. Thanks for a great Mother’s Day meal after Mother’s Day. Chocolate pothole Ice cream was to die for. Waterfalls and wading pool! What an experience.

Awesome restaurant at scenic Minnehaha Falls. Seafood is fresh, good selection of local micro brews and even some wines. Great place to hang out and enjoy good food. Lines can be very long so be prepared.

I had the BBQ shrimp and my husband had the fried fish. Both were excellent. Such a beautiful patio outside to enjoy our meal with Minnehaha falls in the background.

Beautiful place with amazing food. I went here a lot as a kid and still do, because of COVID I haven’t been able to go there but as soon as they open… I’ll be there ;)
10/10 Top tier

Good variety of food and good beer on tap. Nice open space to eat and converse

Great place in a greater setting. We ordered: Jambalaya, very dry and the shrimp was over-cooked. Mojito Shrimp Special, very good and spicy. Fried Shrimp Basket, fair, like ordering a plate at 1:00 am at the pub, good if you're hungry. And the Fried Fish Poboy, which was very good, moist/flacky and nicely seasoned.
From ordering at the counter to the table service was a bit slow.
Nice choice of beverages, several taps for beer and several wines by the glass. The kids had a good lemonade.

This place is so good, super awesome staff. Got a plate of tacos for $5, super reasonable pricing. Amazing location with a great view. And such a good selection of beer. And wine but I didn't get any of that. Great vibes, great music. I'm traveling and had a layover here and I'm glad I stopped here for early dinner. Would definetly recommend it to all:)

One of the best seafood eateries in the Twin Cities with a stunning view of the Minnehaha Falls. The rice, beans with andouille is a tasty option for those non-seafood dinners and the Walnut burger is a good vegetarian option. If dining there on a nice day, arrive early as the lines get very long.

Top class menu and taste! Excellant seafood venue outdoors in the park.
Josh Domke
Amazing seafood, good beers, and the views are absolutely fantastic. If you're not too full after eating, check out the trails. The waterfall is beautiful.

I had the Crab-stuffed Avocado, the Pickled Herring, and Fried Calamari. IT WAS DELICIOUS. It was so fresh and everything was perfectly cooked. Nothing was dry or overly fishy (in a bad way). It was just UGH SO GOOD. PLEASE TRY THIS PLACE. Y U M

The crab cakes were excellent as were the giant peel and eat shrimp. I would not recommend the shrimp remoulade. The crab stuffed avocado was ok. The ordering process is slow and delivery of the food is slower. Thankfully the park and falls are beautiful, so you can enjoy those during the wait.

Wow I cannot more highly reccommend sea salt. "Why?" Well I'm gonna tell you so hold your horses.
1-Good beer selection. Sometimes the food line is long so grab a drink to drink while you wait.
2 - Good food. You think you cant get good seafood in the midwest. Sea Salt proves you wrong, once again! Top tier tacos and the calimari is great.
3 - absolutely massive portions These were the thickest tacos I've ever eaten. I was too full and had to take my calimari home.
4- Eco friendly! Everything is compostable!
5- Live music sometimes. Always fun.
6- Cute location, great park. This would be a great first date follow up ( you know when you go minigolfing but then want to have something do after?) or a great second date, or a great third date, or a great fourth date. Also cool place to go with friends. Not feeling a date? Well toss him in the river and then come back to sea salt for a quick bite because you just had to endure that weird date. Need a good work outing? This place is it. Need somewhere to celebrate your new puppy? Boom Sea Salt has dog friendly outdoor seating.

So yummy. I highly recommend getting a "po' boy". There was so much food I had it for lunch the next day. Really nice staff to help guide you through the menu.
Love the live music and the peaceful sounds of the falls and the wind in the giant trees. Lots of outdoor seating too.

My husband and I have been coming here for a few years. #1. Rule: make sure you have time. The wait when it's busy is about an hour to order and another hour for food. But, it's so worth it. Just don't expect it to be fast. The food is amazing! We travel from Isanti MN to come here. It's an hour drive. Love, love,
Love Sea Salt!

Sea Salt Eatery is my absolute favorite place in the cities. It has: the green park setting, with large oak trees, a raging waterfall, great food, great beer and wine, and they have live music at times. There is usually a very long line but honestly it gives you time to chat and drink a beer or two. The fried scallop taco is my go to menu choice. The po boys are really good too.

I had been to Minnehaha many of times before, but never tried Sea Salt. This place is actually really good. I got huge fried fish fillets that were super tasty and a soup that was quite yummy on a cold fall night. Recommend!
Curtis Herbel
Kinda long line on a warm Saturday afternoon but they cranked out some really enjoyable food. My shrimp po'boy was tasty and my son felt the same out his crawfish po'boy. My wife liked her salmon fish tacos too!

The first calamari dish was absolutely exquisite, I don't care if they were frozen, fresh or whatever, they knew what they were doing when they presented them and cook them. the second time, not so much, because I had a friend of mine it was just a dink, he had $1,000 in his pocket an did not buy a thing and ate over half my dish and drank all my sodas, so wasn't the establishment or the calamari it was the company which I kept.

What can I say that hasn’t been said a million times? Sea Salt is an institution and one of a handful of places that I truly crave and rave about to friends.
We look forward to it opening each year and feel genuine sadness when it closes in the fall. This is a fantastic spot with amazingly good, simple sea food. The scallop tacos and the clam fries are so good. So good.
If you’ve never been you will immediately see the line (if you haven’t heard about it before) and will undoubtedly ask yourself if it is worth standing in line. It is.
Reid Ronnander
Great place for sea food. Recommend their shrimp basket, shrimp po-boys, and their soups. Do arrive early because there is always a line. The line is worth the wait. Great staff and great environment to eat outside in the park.

Right in the middle of busy Minneapolis is the wonderful Minnehaha park which contains the Sea Salt Eatery. Enjoy a variety of sandwich/basket items and favorite beverages. The casual picnic table atmosphere fits well in this park. We enjoyed the outdoor, live music as well. Leave room for an ice cream treat for dessert. Can't miss enjoyment of food and surroundings.

Went here for my Hubby's birthday..a great place to be...the food was excellent..loved their avocado stuffed crab speicially with their variety of hot sauces and the shrimp basket. After all the great food it felt great to take a walk by the falls

Usually long lines and the food is not worth the wait. It’s fine...but besides the atmosphere, I have always been baffled why people love it here so much. I can enjoy the beautiful falls without waiting an hour to order fish tacos that are cold by the time they get to you... sorry Sea Salt. I want to like you. I just don’t.

This is my 3 year olds favorite restaurant to visit! She loves getting to run around outside and her favorite food is their kids shrimp basket. It's the perfect family restaurant or place for a relaxing adult night out with a delicious beer and wine selection
