Took my mom & sister to dinner here for their first time and everything was delightful. We got the egg rolls & wontons first and they were amazing as always. Then we got lemongrass curry with chicken, the vegetable stir fry with chicken, and the garlic stir fry with shrimp. We all stuffed our faces and were 100% satisfied. So great!

First of all, the food is delicious. I enjoy the food so much that I overlook the extreeeeemely slooooow service. The atmosphere is clean, cold and quiet. There is one nice older lady who shuffles about and runs the show (I suspect she is the waitress, cook, cashier, busser AND answers the phone). As soon as I walked in, I asked for spring rolls and wings, because I was starving and already knew it would be a long while before any food was on the table. My guest who had never been there before was convinced the nice lady ventured to Antartica on dogsled for the ice as it took about 25 minutes to get a glass of water. We were sincerely the only table there so I think the majority of the business is composed of much smarter customers who call in their orders. (I am doing that next time). I have some photos, but I apologize, we had waited a good 50 minutes for our food and dove in when the plates were set down (before I could get a photo). Spring rolls are amazing. I had chicken chow mein and my friend had lemon chicken. It was all delicious. Maybe bring a sandwich to hold you over until the food comes? Also, pack some salt because there were no salt shakers anywhere. Pepper, soy sauce and sugar was all they had out. I would have asked for some, but that might have been another long wait.

We decided to visit this place after my husband said the reviews were promising. Got there around 8pm because I worked a tad later then normal. It was tough finding a parking spot, we basically drove around a couple times before getting lost in an alley lol. It was perfect timing because that alley led us to the back parking of Saigon! Perfect coincidence! Anyways the staff were great and seated us right away. We ordered pho and padthai and some fried wings, the sauce to the wings were ohh so good. I was surprised to see a lot of veggies in the padthai and it was very flavorful. The pho broth was actually good but the noodle weren’t that good and the beef slices were a bit thick and tough. Like I mentioned the broth was good so I dranked it all! Yum. Would I go back? Absolutely! Would love to try more items when I go back.

Best egg rolls I had ever! My sister ordered this for takeout. She said that we just had to try their egg rolls and she was right! They were simply delicious and they came with this very tasty sauce. Can’t wait to eat them again!

My favorite restaurant in the cities hands down. Best banh mi I've ever had. It takes time because it's all cooked fresh to perfection. I wish I could give six stars. If you want fast food go to Panda Express. If you want great food come here.

Saigon is the epitome of family owned, “made with love” Asian cuisine. In the 12 years I’ve lived in uptown, surviving the riots and the pandemic, I’m so glad Saigon has survived as well. It is a comfort place, food is prepared with care and customer service is top notch. Lots of vegetarian options too!

It is an easy to miss place, but it is well worth stopping. Everything is delicious and very reasonably priced. You get more than what you pay for in both quantity and quality. If you haven't been here you should definitely change that as soon as possible. I give Saigon a 10/5.

We placed a to-go order for 16 people for our granddaughters birthday supper. We wanted to pick it up at 4:30. When I arrived at 4:28, they were just finishing boxing it up for us. They also supplied utensils, napkins and plates. Everything was hot and delicious when we sat down to eat. I can't decide if the sweet and sour shrimp or the egg rolls were my favorite part of the meal. Every single item was great. Can't wait to go back.

The food was very good! The reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is that the kitchen was slow. It took about 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. However, it might not be like that every day, as it seemed particularly busy with takeout customers. Other than that, the food was excellent, and the staff were very nice.

Best pho in Minneapolis!! Super affordable and authentic. The portions are HUGE! The Thai fresh spring rolls were literally gigantic. The staff is super kind and welcoming. They’re the best! I enjoyed my meal and my time here. This is my new favorite Vietnamese spot in Minneapolis.

If I could I would give Saigon uptown restaurant 10 Stars today. I'm very happy with my dish. I ordered a mango smoothie and I wanted something new and exotic and it was recommended for me the Thai pad thai on the last page for $12.95 - I'm very pleased I've eaten a lot of places and I haven't been this pleased in several years thank you for making me that special dish today.

I will be a regular. Delicious vegetarian options, fresh ingredients, and totally affordable prices. I didn't dine in but the service was super friendly and the order took exactly as long as quoted. I'm lucky this place is so close- especially on rainy days like today. Hit the spot.

This is a hidden gem! The four dishes we have tried so far have been delicious! Pretty much everything is under $10. The staff is so sweet and genuinely cares if you enjoyed your meal. Also, it's not very busy even on a Saturday! You won't regret trying this place.

Literally the best Vietnamese restaurant in uptown. Hands down. Great, unbelievable prices for the quality. Always hot, always fresh, always consistent. The wings are my favorite, the spice blend to sweet and crunchy and savor is outstanding. Honestly this place is one of my favorite restaurants for comfort food. When I think midwest comfort food I think this from my local Chinese or Vietnamese joint and a breezy weeknight evening. The family that runs it is super cool and friendly as well just an added bonus.

My husband and I lived in uptown area for 3 years and we looooved going to this place. There’s several Vietnamese restaurants in uptown/Whittier area, but Saigon Uptown was always our first option. We haven’t lived in Minneapolis for over 2 years and we still talk about how good the food was there. Our favorite dish there was the spicy lemongrass beef... if you get it, you won’t be disappointed!

Luv luv luv this place. Use to live in Mpls now it is a 4 hr.trip. However I always make a point to stop and get at least one meal when in town. Their fish sauce that comes with the egg rolls is addicting! Everything I have ever ordered is delicious! Also very affordable.

Some dishes are amazing and some are just good, but the cooking time is comically slow. The prices are low, but be warned, some of the main courses are 1 serving only (1/2 container). It is definitely worth checking out, I'm only giving them 4 stars due the wait time, otherwise it wold be 5.

Food isn’t too bad. I always enjoy what I order each time I go. So I’ve been here often enough. However, service is soooooo slow. I think it’s family owned and I don’t know if the waiter is also the cook but I swear it’s like 2 people who work here. The older lady who works here for some reason always takes my ID into the back kitchen area when I order alcoholic beverages, I do not know why. Food isn’t bad but service could use some help

One of the best and oldest authentic restaurants in minneapolis. Mom and pop to the fullest! Food might take a little while, but it'll be perfect when it gets to you. They serve Pho but have a giant menu worth checking out,I had beef and broccoli

I’ve enjoyed my time here too many times to let another day pass without praising this place. I come here to order what I tell people is “my favorite food in the twin cities” — egg roll vermicelli noodle salad. For my fellow egg roll fanatics, look no further, this is truly the dankest egg roll in Minneapolis, possibly the world. The no-frills decor matches the usually two-member front of house staff, who are very polite but won’t come round to bother you often, so order early. Some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had in such an unassuming place with surprisingly mellow vibes, and with this pricing, it’s a bargain. I recommend the spring rolls, dumpling soup, and egg rolls salad - my favorite.

Well worth the wait, all of the food is freshly made by a sweet old lady who seems to be taking care of the place herself. It's a home cooked meal that is delicious, not spendy and has a very reasonably priced beer on the side. Me and my boyfriend have already made a date for us to come back and we haven't even left the restaurant yet.

This is the real deal, order the Vietnamese food, it is excellent and really cheap. Menu hasn’t changed much for 35 years. Same prices! Spring rolls, Chicken Pho and Mock duck are to die for! (Bad timing for that expression!). I highly recommend this restaurant and don’t believe google that there are no deliveries, both Grub hub and Postmates deliver or they will bring it out to you on Lyndale Ave or their parking lot.

Great for take out, good Vietnamese egg rolls. Kind of small and dated, but the food is good. Parking wasn't great, hard to find small lot buried in back or limited on street parking, but if you find a spot you'll enjoy your food.

What a charming little place! The service was excellent, the atmosphere in the restaurant was great, and the food was delicious. I had the coconut ginger chicken, and pork egg rolls, which were superb. The decor is nothing spectacular, but it was less than $20 for two of us to get dinner.

For inexpensive and fresh food, this place deserves five stars. They only charge around $6.00 for an entree, including rice, so I am not going to harp on the décor or the lack of service staff, and all of the trifling reviewers below need to get over their first world problems. Wah! The family that runs this place are salt-of-the-earth, and I appreciate their quiet humbleness. The pho is light and delicious, the fresh spring rolls are always a winner. We have ordered the stir fry dishes and they have all been good quite a few times and we eat out often to know better. Not monster portions, but who really needs am excessive amount, with an appetizer, it's perfect. The Vietnamese coffee is also quite good.

Must stop here. Egg rolls are amazing and I haven't found better anywhere. Hot pot soup is their fantastic secret. Staff are always friendly but don't expect to be out in 15 minutes, they make everything from scratch back there and been doing it that way all their lives.

May be TMI but I have been coming here since before I was born (when my mom was pregnant) and throughout my life. The food has always been AMAZING and you could not find a more delightful family that own/operates the establishment. The two older ladies are like another set of grandmas for me. One of the best places to get pho in Uptown (or Minneapolis in general for that matter.) They have a nice, peppery beef pho that comes in perfect portion, and their dumplings are perfectly pan fried as well.

Actually been a fan of this place dating back to when it was at Knollwood Mall in the mid 1970's I've been taking people there for probably near 38 years now - yet to ever be disappointed. Just a little background. I'm from Houston which has the 5th largest Vietnamese population in the country. In Houston you can pretty much throw a rock in any direction and hit a PHO or MEXICAN restaurant. I just went to SAIGON UPTOWN and ordered their "Spring Rolls" and "Pho"!! This place definitely knows what they're doing!!! This is the best and most authentic PHO restaurant I've had since I've been here the last 7 months. If you want something to cure a cold or to warm yourself from the cold go here you will not regret it!!! I will be going back, prolly for the next week straight at least!!
