Reviews of Rincón 38
This is a cozy Spanish restaurant with a good selection of tapas. We enjoyed the scallops, paella Sevilliana (meat heavy rice dish), and tres leches cake. The service was quick and efficient so it's easy to order a few dishes, graze, and order a few more.
We really enjoyed Rincon 38 before the pandemic and we paid it a visit today over the July 4th weekend. The service was warm, friendly, and unintrusive (thank you Ricardo). The tapas came out beautifully plated and still have the same fantastic taste. We ordered Sangria Rojo, Pipirrana, Coliflor, Plato Iberico, Toledo, Gambas al Ajillo, Vierras, Borrego, Carne Brava. For dessert: Kalua Flan, and Chocolate Torte. Thanks for a wonderful meal.
A superb restaurant. Absolutely tops. Our first visit today was a wonderful experience and we look forward to many return visits. Everything was spot on: food, presentation, wine, venue, vibe and a very polite and cheerful staff. We were totally won over. I think there are a lot of Tapas bars in Spain that could learn some valuable lessons from Rincon 38.
Small cozy dinner spot. The food is really good. Not many choices for cocktails. But they have wine and beer. Small plates, every bite was a party in my mouth. Will return
There was nothing wrong with their food but for a $83 plus tips check, I had higher expectations: I was neither inspired during or after the meal as I am used to a higher bar set by tapas restaurants in DC metro area with a more complex taste to their dishes. I also noticed there are not that much competition with there not being too many Spanish/tapas restaurants in MSP. Good service by the wait staff.
Great food! Flavorful, dairy free options (may have butter), delicious tender and amazingly flavorful. Love it!
Marcelo was delightful and took wonderful care of our group. Every dish was beautifully plated and tasted fantastic. I especially loved the goat cheese stuffed peppers as well as the chorizo and octopus dish. 10/10 would eat again!
Marcelo is the best and the food was awesome! Desserts were amazing, the stuffed pepper was so good! Eat here, be happy.
Started with cauliflower which was fabulous. Also tried the meatballs which were also very tasty. Then had beef tenderloin (pictured here). Beef was done perfect and very tender with so much flavor. Then finished with creme brulee which wax also good. Love that they have Mexican Coke. The service was really good and friendly also very helpful. Would have never guessed driving by that it is a good as it is. Well worth the stop. Will be back.
Hidden gem. Very intimate setting. Wonderful wine list. Elegant yet comfortable dishes.
Get your reservations in! This is an aptly named, small little restaurant, with amazing food. Highly recommended! Had the best meal out that I've had in years. Had 4 dishes plus dessert (crab cakes, octopus and chorizo, paella, lamb, and flan) and every one was amazing. Our favorite was the lamb; we wanted to lick the plate! Wish I had gotten a picture of them all, but only captured one of the crab cakes. Definitely going back so we can try more of the menu.
Crisp, tart bubbly wine made a good companion for the delightful bites from the kitchen. The coffee flan desert was exceptionally decadent. Other bites were well crafted and artfully plated. Go and sample the menu! Service is prompt and knowledgeable of the menu, so bring a friend to experience this restaurant.
Great tapas bar in a quaint, warm, and charming environment. We had almost all of the seafood options and they were all excellent! I loved the crab cakes and scallops, but the rest were so beautiful and delicious as well! There are a variety of wine options, a handful of beer options, and sangria for alcohol options. The servers were very attentive and kind. The only thing that was not excellent throughout everything we ate and drank was the chocolate torte...it did not have much flavor, although it was beautiful to look at. (I missed a picture of the seafood paella.)
Enjoyed dinner here last night and highly recommend! They have a menu sampler option Sun-Thur nights where you can select 3 tapas (not all menu options available for this, but a nice selection to choose from) and 3 wines to try. Selecting one dish to try is always a hard choice for me, and my dinner partner tried 3 different dishes, plus we shared a happy hour dish and dessert, so I tried 8 dishes in all. I liked some more than others, but enjoyed them all. I was shocked at how delicious the fried saffron cauliflower is (that was an off the cuff decision for me, and definitely the stand out of the night) and the scallops were delicious as well. Finished off with the crema Catalana for dessert, similar to creme brulee. I'm not a vintner by any stretch, but enjoyed the wines I sampled, especially the garnacha. Great night out!
One of the best hidden restaurants in Minneapolis. Cozy, excellent food, a very extensive wine list, and some of the best service you will ever see. Sergio and Fernando are incredible and will make your visit worth every minute. Come out and support this little gem. We need many more of these in our city!
Fantastic experience at this restaurant. The server was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Every plate we ordered was delicious and left you wanting more. Great wine too. Highly recommend trying out, will definitely be back.
my first time at Rincon 38 was delicious with great service and an intimate atmosphere. our table got a carafe of sangria, which was perfect and easy to share (just like all the delicious food). highly recommend for a classy and delicious experience!
My hubby, 4.5 month old daughter and I went on a nice date night to Rincon 38. It was so delicious and fun! Excellent variety of tapas, and make sure you get the carafe of Sangria! My favorite was the squid ink pasta, beef empanada and bacon wrapped dates!
Service was great and so was the wine. The tapas were presented beautifully but I didn’t care much for the flavors of most items. I found it quite over priced for the taste of the food.
Fresh, unique but lacked flavor. Tapas style, so smaller dishes mainly for sharing. Presentation was pretty good, the food was made very quick but nothing really stood out for flavor. Also I was charged 15 dollars because my wife brought in a cake to eat with my friends for her birthday even after we spent over hundred dollars on food.
Our favorite date night spot that never disappoints. Order as many tapas as you desire and a good bottle of wine and enjoy the atmosphere.
My husband and I ate here for happy hour at the recommendation of a co-worker who knows we are foodies. We were not disappointed. This is a great place with great food and drink. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
We had 5 dishes which we shared. This is a tapas restaurant, so the dishes are large enough to share, but small enough not to overwhelm. Our favorite dish was the Vieras which has scallops, fresh and perfectly cooked with garlic toast, and the best balance of flavors I have had in a seafood dish in a long time. We also had the Patatas Bravas, Jaiba (crab cakes), Paella Sevilla, and Lobster. The Lobster was a close second place. All's the dishes were beautifully played, perfectly cooked, and had a balance of flavors not often found in Minneapolis happy hour.
I recommend asking the server for their wine recommendation, the rosé I had was the best wine I've had since I was in Italy. All of their wines are from Spain. They have beer on tap for those not of the wine mindset. For those who aren't sure what they want, there are tasting glasses (3oz) at roughly half the price of the full pour (6 oz).
If you're looking for a great neighborhood place for happy hour or any hour, I cannot recommend Rincon38 enough.
A quaint little restaurant with authentic tapas, perfect to try lots of dishes and share. Easy atmosphere for conversations. I would recommend reservations if you are going during a peak meal time, as it is a small place with limited seating. All for recommendations and you will get lots of nice information. The flan was a burst of flavor.
Amazing restaurant! It delivers the full Spanish fancy restaurant experience! It feels amazing when the flavors melt in your mouth and just want more of it.
Nice ambiance . The food was really good. And I loved my Malbec (Altos de las Hormigas). And Fernando is a good server.
Very authentic Spanish experience. The tapas were AMAZING. We will definitely be back. Just a heads up, it gets hot indoors in the summer so you may prefer the patio seating.
Amazing food and service. The staff was very attentive and offered great suggestions. Everything was delicious! They also have a vegetarian paella not on the menu.
The food and service here is amazing! Best tapas I have had in Minneapolis!
Very fancy, amazing place. Roasted piquillo peppers stuffed with honey black truffle goat cheese. Observes Covid protocols and socially distant outdoor seating was very nice and comfortable. Good wine selection, Stella on tap, very nice and helpful service staff, if you're looking for something upscale and different, please try Rincon 38.
Dishes are hit or miss for the price - my friends and I tried maybe 8 or 9 different dishes (including some desserts) - they were all fine, but nothing stuck out as remarkable - sometimes they go a bit overboard on the sauces instead of focusing on core flavors of the dishes. Very comprehensive wine list. I probably wouldn't go here for a full dinner, but if you want some snacks and some good wines, this is a cozy spot.
Had several of the dishes and every one was delicious! Will definitely be back!
Very good food! Decent wine list. Very friendly staff. The tapas were big enough to share with my wife and small enough that we were able to try 5 or 6 different ones. I'll definately be going back for more!
Wonderful! I went with a large group and shared a wide variety of dishes that were SO DELICIOUS! The lamb and the pepper & goat cheese were favorites. Marcelo took such good care of us and selected all the dishes for us. I even tried octopus, and it was quite tasty!
Never, ever disappoints! A medley of delicious flavors is in every dish. Good wine selection and knowledgeable servers. Cozy inside, once we can eat in again.
Great food and wine selection - of the things we ordered, the Piquillos were particularly tasty. My only problem with Rincon 38 is the size inside - very small, and many of the tables are set right in a row next to each other, making people awkwardly close to others. If you're looking for more privacy, ask for a spot at the bar when making reservations or hopefully find a spot that's open when you arrive.
Amazing food, wine, and service. Small little restaurant with a beautiful bathroom. The presentation was impeccable. The tapas were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve traveled Spain 3 times! Can’t wait to go back.
A great hidden gem! UNBELIEVABLE flavor packed into tapas. Never disappointed!
Food was very tasty. Fresh. Creative. However I did feel like almost all the dishes had saffron in them, so same flavor profiles. Menu is huge, many choices! I love that you can order a taste of wine or full glass. As a group, can get expensive because the portions are tapa size, so you need to order quite a few items at $13 + a pop.
Great food to share with friends. The pasta negra and coffee flan were the stars of the dinner. Richardo was our fantastic server.
Dishes are hit or miss, a bit pricey for the portions. Overall, the food was ok, nothing really was superb. We tried 15 dishes and were not that impressed. I definitely had expectations to get tapas closer to what we had in Spain.
Fabulous tasty tapas. So hard to just pick a few off the menu. Very authentic and nicely plated. Neighborhood gem.
Simply exquisite to eat at Rincon 38. The elegance and the food make it a top notch spot to check out in Minneapolis!
Great place for tapas in Minneapolis. Feels authentic with great food and amazing sangria. We got the lamb and scallops and would recommend for sure. And the flan was delicious With unique flavors.
I studied abroad in Spain almost 20 years ago, and have struggled to find authentic Spanish cuisine and tapas anywhere in the US. Rincón 38 hits the bullseye. The food was amazing, the portions are perfect to share with two and be able to try a bunch, and they are ready so fast! Where tapas restaurants miss the mark in authenticity is that you still order everything up front, wait a long time, and get everything at once. With Rincón 38, we ordered a couple plates at a time and they'd come within minutes, and we'd order more. Combine that with tasty sangria, wine, and port options and you're in for a true Spanish dining experience. My only regret is that 5 stars is the highest rating I'm allowed to give!
Amazing location, really enjoyed the small but busy, dimly lit atmosphere. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Food, dessert, and wine was incredible- I plan on exploring everything on the menu over my next few visits. Can’t wait to return. Great place for a date.
A quiet and wonderfully designed restaurant. The food is fantastic! They have a few vegetarian options too. There isn’t anything on the menu that was bad. And the crema catalana? Must have dessert. The folks working were very friendly and attentive(even if we may have gotten a big rowdy!) We felt totally welcome here, and I hope to come again soon! Absolutely delicious!
Found everything we ordered here to be quite good. At least 2 local craft beers on draft and a large list of cold and warm tapas to choose from. Parking can easily be found on a weekday evening within a block and the outdoor seating was nice. The Queso Frito and Lobster plates were the standouts, while I didn't care much for the dates which are usually my favorite dish; theirs were not really sweet.
Best meal I have had in several years. Excellent service. The tapas, paella, and très leches cake were out of this world. Extensive and unique wine list too. Restaurant is very cramped especially if you end up at a middle table, but that’s literally my only complaint. If you’re inviting someone out to dinner whom you’re trying to impress, take them here.
Every single thing on the menu is utterly delicious. My dinner partner and I each got two dishes from the "less substantial" side of the menu and one from the "more substantial" side, for six dishes, and they were all delicious. There's a great variety of flavors and textures. On this occasion I had a glass of their sangria, which is zesty and refreshing. Unlike at some tapas places, the portions are substantial. You get a lot of food for the money, considering the quality. The dining room is small and this place is popular, so definitely make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
Wow! My husband and I randomly chose Rincon 38 because they happened to have open reservations on a Friday night. We were so pleasantly surprised. The flavors were phenomenal and the service was exceptional!! My favorite dishes were the malaga (octopus/chorizo dish), borrego (rack of lamb), and empanadas. Truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time!
This spot is really special and all the dishes were delicious. The cauliflower was fantastic, despite having doubts about it it may have been my favorite.
I had an absolutely incredible meal to celebrate moving to this neighborhood from North East. I will be coming back and it won't be soon enough. We had Piquillos, Albondigas, Paella Sevillana, Churros, and Raspberry Flan
I love this restaurant for its quaintness. Sometimes there is live music making it a lovely, romantic place for dates. I've been coming here a few years and find its pretty consistent. The food is is always exceptional (the scallops and octopus are to-die-for) and makes me long to go back to Spain. My only complaint is the portion size. I get they're tapas, but for the price I was hoping for more than a few bites per a dish. The two of us recently shared 4 tapas and each had a drink (the sangria is a must try!) ; with tip it was $120 and then we were hungry again a few hours later.
food was delicious, service was fantastic, but the food is overpriced for the portion sizes, in my opinion.
First time dining at Rincon and the service was great and the bartender was very helpful when wandering through the menu! My choices were delicious and candy wait to try more!!!
Very good tapas, unique flavor combinations. Service and atmosphere are excellent.
One of the best restaurants in the twin cities, excellent service, lovely atmosphere and delicious food, could not recommend higher
Incredibly delicious plates and desserts! The presentation of the food and the atmosphere was so nice. Our server was so friendly and attentive, too! So glad we chose here for a date night dinner in Minneapolis!
Another uneven tapas place. We really enjoyed 2/3 of what we ordered, but that other third was pretty dismal. It’s especially frustrating when the dish the waiter recommended so strongly (the lobster pasta) is the worst. However the wine list was good and it’s a very pleasant ambiance. I think if you are careful about what you order it’s probably worth trying.
Pros:
+ Decent ambience (owner loves FC Barca, Real Madrid, Cadiz, and Atletico Madrid and proudly displays the flags of each team)
+ Responsive service
+ Expansive wine selection
+ Coffee flavored flan was terrific
+ Ample street parking
Cons:
- Dishes are not super authentic (e.g. Paella not served in a cast iron pan, empanadas served with salsa, Gambas al ajillo comes with shell on but missing garlic), however the flavors are decent for the Twin Cities
- Seafood used was flash frozen
So tasty and great vibes and good service 👍🏼 Love the rice dish …
We made a reservation to celebrate a family occasion and it was absolutely lovely! The paella and cauliflower tapas are amazing, but everything we had was really tasty. For dessert we had tres leches cake, the Catalan creme brulee, and coffee flan, and all three were a nice way to finish the meal. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Would definitely recommend!
Small place! Cute!
Really good food and service!
Really expensive $$$
Great food great service
Great selection of Spanish wines, food was excellent.
We tried four different tapas and one dessert. The cauliflower, stuffed peppers and paella were phenomenal. Staff was helpful with the menu and extremely attentive. Worth the price for a very good meal in a cozy atmosphere.
We loved everything we ordered. The waiter was knowledgeable and courteous.
Great tapas dinner. The lobster, cauliflower and octopus were stand outs.
Fantastic place. We haven't been since before Covid and we missed it. It still tastes fantastic and our favorite Tapas place. Perfect place for a date. Small place, but got a reservation online earlier in the day to make sure we got a table. Everything we got was delicious and so many more sounded good that we didn't try. The things we liked the most were the Sangria, Patatas Bravas, Borrego, Queso Frito, Pipirrana.
We have been to Rincon 38 almost a dozen times and it never disappoints. Their exquisite Spanish tapas are a work of art as well as delicious and authentic. The service is exceptional, the owner is lovely, and the wine is excellent. We have never had a marginal experience. Everything on the menu is a treat.
Everything we had was amazing! We tried 6 of the tapas and a bottle of wine, all delicious convincing me that everything on the menu is just as good. Highly recommend. The absolute favorites were the Vieras and Piquillos.
HANDS DOWN BEST TWIN CITIES RESTAURANT.
I have been dining at Rincon 38 for over 3 years now and I have never once had a poor experience. Everything I have tasted has either been good or simply exceptional. I go here for Date Nights, Mother's Days, Birthdays, and everything in between.
The Tapas style of dining is exciting and ensures you can truly taste everything you desire. The service is very speedy and attentive. The plates always come out quick and hot.
The signature cocktails are delicious and the sangria is to die for.
Many reviews say that it is "very expensive" but I wouldn't agree with that assessment for what you end up getting. I love that I can come here with my boyfriend and have 5-6 Tapas and a Sangria carafe and leave for around $100. Compared to some other notable Twin Cities restaurants I find the pricing to reasonably reflect the experience.
Oh, and order the Piquillos. Maybe two plates of Piquillos. Trust me.
Such a delicious meal with amazing service. High quality ingredients and everything we tried was delightful. Our favorites were the plato iberico, gambas, piquillos and muriel crianza wine. Will definitely return.
A perfect little spot for an intimate yet casual dining experience with a loved one or small group of friends. The atmosphere was slightly dark and warm yet busy on the Friday night. The service is phenomenal and good menu selection will no doubt pique your interest. We found it hard to choose which dishes to get because they were all appealing. As I expected, our food was delicious!
I love this place! From the queso to the calamari it is all tasty. A wide range of meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetation options so anyone can find something they like. Me favorite was probably the queso or the meatballs, but I basically ate the menu and didn't find anything I wouldn't eat again! Most tapas are $12-15 a plate with since of the bigger ones, pallea for example, being a little more. They also have a great wine selection with good bottle prices. It is VERY SMALL, so best for gross under 4 and reservations are a good idea.
Love this place. It's small, but the ambiance is quiet and subdued. Their staff is highly knowledgeable about the food and all the wines. We have several food allergies between the members of my family and their staff have made it super quick and easy for us to order and know our needs are being met. Also their food is amazing. It's tapas, so don't expect overflowing plates, but order a bunch of things and share them. I certainly never leave hungry!
Got takeout for my anniversary and the food was truly excellent. All the tapas were great except for the calamari, a bit too greasy for our taste and it's just hard in a takeout container cause they get soggy quick. Otherwise, solid food and 10/10 would go back again.
Enjoyed Rincon 38. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant serving Spanish Tapas. All very tasty. The two of us shared the octopus, prawns, scallops and cauliflower dishes. Perfect amount and one as tasty as the next. Proper distancing and attention to hygiene was evident.
It was fun to try so many dishes. Very nicely prepared and all were very good. The server was quick to offer advice, pour more wine, and tend to finished plates. I went with a group of 9 which was a bit large for this place, but we had a good time. Most other tables were filled with parties of 2. Note, this restaurant only serves beer and wine.
Wonderful tapas choices. Delicious. Service w
As excellent.
Everything was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was incredible. Marcelo was such a great host. I can't wait to be back.
Amazing tapas... can't wait to go back...
Wonderful tapas style menu. The food here is consistently delicious. The menu is a mix of fresh seafood, tasty meat forward dishes along side some vegetarian options as well. The ambiance is quaint, romantic, casual and super cozy. Highly recommend!
Fantastic yet quaint tapas joint with drinks and a very Spanish/Mediterranean atmosphere and decor. Menu is one of a kind with dishes like bacon wrapped dates, sauteed octopus (not calamari, which is also available!) and the dessert menu will have you drooling. We had the tres leches and it was the perfect portion for 3 adults after having stuffed our faces with the unfamiliar but exquisite tapas. We were incredibly lucky and got a parking spot right outside the front door, but we didn't get there until 930 or 10. Purely speculation here, but had it been earlier I think we would've had to walk a few blocks. The tab for 3 of us was right around $120, without tip, and that included 5 or 6 (maybe 7) dishes, a carafe of sangria, and a dessert. Not terrible, but not something I can afford to pay every weekend. But that's how it's supposed to be (I feel), it's not just a place to eat, it's an experience. All the staff was super friendly and met or exceeded every expectation I had. Will be back sometime! Thank you!
Small but quaint atmosphere with a greeting at the door. It feels like you’ve really discovered a hidden neighborhood gem. Service is quick and friendly and we’ve been there several times so it’s consistent. Wine selection is unique and the whites and sangrias are delicious pairings with the aromatic and flavorful food. The small dishes may seem intimidating to pick from, but it’s good to try many and to take the servers recommendations. It’s hard to go wrong with as many fresh items as they offer. We live saffron and the addition of it in their dishes is welcome. It’s always a treat to go here and it’s always an enjoyable evening.
Hidden GEM! authentic and yummy Spanish food. Service was impressive. Great wine.
Excellent tapas and wine selection. Great deals Sunday-Thursday. Get the Malaga and the Piquillo peppers to start. Gambas al Ajillo with extra bread for dipping. I would like a pan de tomate and real iberico but the braised octopus checked all of the boxes.
What a lovely and quaint little restaurant. My husband and I shared about half the menu (don't judge). Everything was really tasty. My favorites were the paella Seville, the meatballs and the veras scallops were amazing!! I highly recommend this place!
Good if you don’t like salt on your food, beverages were really good. Would sort of recommend. Btw the cauliflower was amazing.
Great food. Really expansive tapas menu. Beer list leaves a lot to be desired, but the wine menu is solid. Service was fantastic, ambience is surprisingly quiet for such a small place. On the subject of small place, definitely make a reservation.
Wow. This man has a few restaurants on Grand Ave. in South Minneapolis. He has the best food in the metro area. Come here and experience the most flavorful food you’ve ever had. Tonight we had the scallops, halibut, goat cheese peppers, lamb and tenderloin. All amazing. Lovely staff. They welcomed our baby. Best night!
I've never had anything here I haven't liked. Small, cozy and a fantastic menu.
Went there for a birthday and had a great time. While seating is limited, they still managed to seat a table of 5. The food and wine were great, best dish was the sea bass or lobster pasta. I'd definable recommend ordering the churros to end the meal.
Marcelo was a great waiter and awesome host! Thank you for the experience. Will definitely be back soon…
Most amazing restaurant I've been to in years.
Delicious dishes, beautifully plated, and professionally served. Very reasonably price for the quality of the food. Although the patio is on a corner sidewalk, there was little traffic and no decrease in attention from servers as is often the case on other patios. Interior very cozy. Highly recommend!
Quaint setting. Inside or outside seating available. Great service. Unbelievable food. If you enjoy Tapas, you have to try Rincon 38. We had 4 people and enjoyed around 11 different plates. Every one was fantastic. First time I have ever walked to the back and complimented the chefs.
Attentive staff, great ambiance. Lengthy wine list, average beer list but with some quality choices.
At $12-15 a plate, many of the tapas feel expensive for the portions, but the taste and quality of everything was very good.
We felt like we were in Spain eating these tapas with delectable and unique flavors, artistic presentation, colorful garnishes, attentive, quick service, and very reasonable prices. We had tapas with halibut, crab cakes, brussel sprouts, lamb, and an entree sized paella marinara loaded with squid, scallops, shrimp and mussels. And we asked for a second serving of the Spanish flan, decorated with raspberry and chocolate sauces, and sprinkled with coconut. Yum!
Beautiful space, attentive staff, and top-notch cuisine. My husband and I will certainly be back! We didn't have reservations, so we were seated at the bar which ended up being very pleasant. Even when the dining room was filled with guests, it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation in low voices. When I asked for a wine recommendation our server made such a superb one that we went over to Cafe Ena later (where we had reservations) and shared a bottle of the Volver wine. Thank you Chef Ruiz and Rincon 38 staff for such a lovely experience. We'll recommend to all of our friends, and be back soon.
This is a favorite spot of mine. I've gone here quite a few times and each time I find the food to be delicious, the staff to be friendly and attentive and the atmosphere fun and lively. There's outdoor seating when the weather is nice and the wine selection (from what I've been told) is quite good. With all of my visits I bet I've tried nearly everything on their extensive menu and I can't say I've ever not been pleased. Some of my favorite must haves include the Serrano, Queso Frito, and Coliflor. I really need to go here more often - I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
The atmosphere is great. Spanish wines are plentiful but expensive. Did is pretty pedestrian for the price. Had three dishes. Two of which were wrongly made or just plain bad (missing sauce on the sea bass, red wine reduction on the lamb that was so sweet it killed any wine pairing). This place has all the potential in the world but honestly has just enough talent to fool stupid Minneapolis diners. Three stars for potential and ambiance.
What a great place for good Spanish dishes. The price are reasonable and service is great. Parking on to the street, but it's not hard to find a place to park; just watch for parking spots that shouldn't be parking. The place has a bar and I believe it is full menu at the bar. I recommend making a reservation as it could be busy during popular dinner time
Excellent service, exceptional tapas with unique flavors, everything is good! Try the sea bass! Reasonably good wine list. Fun experience, enjoyed sitting outdoors but inside is was enjoyable as well. Highly recommend
This was the best beef, I've ever tasted. Better than mancini's, better than any steak I've ever had.. flat out.. if you like beef tenderloin.. you HAVE to try this place. And dessert???? Omg.... Just do it.. you only live once... Make one of the best meals and memories you'll have in 2021 at rincon 38..
Just got done eating here. The food was phenominal! Some of the best I've ever had. The presentation was A+, as well as our waiter Fernando. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We WILL be coming back when in the cities! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. All was extremely tasty!
Absolutely insane! Amazing food, great service. Didn’t even take pictures because of how fast the food was gone. A great small place. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem, but it’s a gem for sure!
Romantic tapas restaurant great for date night
While the bill can add up quickly given the smaller plates (and of course some wine), you won’t be disappointed. Perfect for a quaint/intimate evening. Friendly staff, great food, plenty of wine, never loud.
Pricey, but good. Really, too pricey, and that is distracting me from sharing how much I liked our selections. A can of diet coke for $3.50 somehow incensed me. That's Paris pricing.
Our favorite tapas place in the Twin Cities. Great food, solid wine selection, and a nice quaint and romantic ambiance. Has never disappointed as a date night or a place to bring guests visiting from out of town. Highly recommend!!
Great food! We had some small plates that we shared and it was perfect
You can't go wrong with any option at Rincon 38, and the attentive and warm service makes for an enjoyable atmosphere. The locale is intimate but not uncomfortably small, and noise doesn't seem to carry over from one table to another. An excellent spot for trying something new, or just to indulge in as many old favorites as your appetite will allow.
Great food, very flavorful. Wonderful service. Sergio was great! Will absolutely come back.
Ordered the Paella Marinera and the Gambas al Ajillo.
This restaurant was fantastic! Great service, delicious and flavorful food. The food was a bit pricy, but I found it to be well worth it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a tapas place in Minneapolis!
Seriously, eat here. Fantastic tapas -- meats, seafood, veggies. Great sauces. Sat outside and enjoyed a carafe or two of sangria. Excellent service -- waiter very knowledgeable on menu and wine -- made expert recommendations. Off the beaten path - a hidden gem.
My wife and I went to Rincon 38 for our one year wedding anniversary. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. They were attentive without being oppressive, knew the menu in detail, and gave wonderful recommendations. Our server, John, was superb. He was very professional, spent just the right amount of time at the table, and was willing to indulge a few unconventional requests. The food was also outstanding. The atmosphere is cozy and the decor was pleasant.
We're definitely adding Rincon 38 to our list of places to take guests. We're already excited for our next visit, which will probably be a smaller night of one or two tapas and a glass of wine at the bar.
Seriously impressed, quick service with a packed house on a Friday night. Can’t wait to return to try every tapas! 😍 amazing wine! …
My wife and I were looking for a place to relive the Spanish tapas we feel in love with in Barcelona. Rincon 38 is that place! We gorged ourselves without regret. I cannot wait to go back again to try more from the extensive menu. Beyond the amazing food, the staff here was fantastic: very friendly and helpful without being bothersome. They even held our reservation 15 minutes while we were running late. I don't think I can suggest this place enough.
What a hidden treasure! Cozy neighborhood atmosphere. Unbelievably good food-amazing flavors and great presentations. Our new favorite!
As I walked into Rincon 38 with two guests, we were immediately greeted with smiles, and excellent service. The decor is really stylized, but in a way that you could be there on a first date, or in your casuals for a snack and a drink. The tapas were all very unique and each that we ordered (4 dishes) had a distinct spanish flavor. I recommend ordering a bottle of wine and hanging out here for a while, ordering a few dishes at a time until satisfied. Thank you for an excellent experience!
We tried several tapas dishes and enjoyed them all, with one exception: the Datiles had too many competing unharmonious flavors. My favorite dish was the Piquillos (Roasted stuffed piquillo peppers). They were truly excellent.
One thing that I loved is that you can order smaller glasses of wine. A full glass is sometimes a little more than I want, and with smaller glasses, you can try more than one kind of wine.
Nice atmosphere for a romantic dinner. I'm usually bothered by the music/noise at most restaurants, but the music was pleasantly in the background, and I was able to talk to my dinner companion without raising my voice, even though the dining room was full.
For dessert we had the Beignets. They were too heavy and greasy. Next time we'll try something else.
Overall, we had a very nice dinner, we'll be back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. We dined outside, love the tapas.
Fantastic meal all around. The lamb chops were excellent, the Platos Iberico was a very generous serving of four meats and a cheese, plus olives. Everything we tried was excellent.
Best small plates ever. Each plate was better thanks the last. Make sure to order breads to sop up the super delicious sauces. The staff is as good as the food. I love this place.
I'd never been here before and a date took me. The food was amazing, I'd never had it before! It's a gorg little spot where you sit very close to each other and eat family style. The service was great, parking was easy and it was a lovely atmosphere. I'll return asap!
One of the best and most reasonably priced restaurants in the city if you've never been I highly recommend it the whole menu is delicious. It is a small Tapas restaurant with an upscale yet quaint atmosphere and I can't tell you this enough it is some of the best food in the city. I love u Rincon
Small restaurant, nice and clean with great customer service, the food was delightful (5 stars due to flavor an well plated)
Rincon 38 not only provided a wonderful intimate atmosphere, the food was absolutely delicious and at a price that was not overly aggressive. If you like tapas you should visit Rincon 38.
The food here has always been excellent. Paella's are sized to two, and come out swiftly. Seating space is at a premium, make a reservation on popular days.
This place is ridiculous! The scallops melt in your mouth! I would highly recommend you get all of the scallop dishes when you go, but you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! One of my favorite restaurants in the cities!
Kitchen called something microgreens and it was cilantro. I am allergic. The waiter was informed of the allergy. He had to ask the Kitchen everytime we inquired. All staff kitchen and waitstaff should know about ingredients.
My girlfriend and I like to try Tapas places when we travel. This is hands down the best we’ve encountered. I lived in Spain for a year and this rivals the tapas I had there. Patatas Bravas is a must and I recommend the Tempranillo wine from La Mancha if it is available.
Great food and drinks. Friendly staff. The best part about this restaurant is the atmosphere. Even when it is quite busy you can still have a conversation without having to yell, unlike so many other restaurants now.
Amazing! Great staff, amazing food, quick cooking. The flavor is amazing. Must get sangria and dessert. HIGHLY recommend.
The service was as amazing as the food. They had many gluten free meals or could leave the bread off. I would definitely be coming back to try most dishes
Excellent! I love this place I'm totally coming back!! In the picture I got one of the tapas 😍 …
Good taste at this places.
To be my first time.
The flavor, the taste, the places.those chocolate mocha look delicious are woo la la
Services are so good.
Thank you ya'all folks serving at Rincon 38 see you again.
Wonderful place...just go there. Ate at the bar, great bartender, recommended the mero tapa which was fantastic, then had a lobster one equally good, and a great tres leches dessert. Definitely coming back here many times, one of the best restaurants in the city.
After studying abroad in Spain, this is true first place in the cities that felt like Spain. A tiny little area, very close to other dinners, every ounce of floor space utilitzed. A true menu of nothing but tapas. Definitely more of an upscale Tapa and well worth it. Every bite was beautiful. Service was bb8bery friendly and welcoming. The mariscos paella is a must.
What a gem this place is. Their happy is best food value in town. Amazing small plates. The seating is cramped but the food is so good. Highly suggest coming with firends and sharing and coming early afternoon.
Must try Jaiba (crab cakes) at this place. Perfectly executed and rich flavours. The tapas are bit on a pricy side but worth the taste. A small places and looks a little crowed when it's full. But overall a pleasant ambience.
Wonderful, every bite was magical! I want to go back again already!
Loved this setting. Small and cozy. The food has an amazing presentation and tastes great as well. Most of the items are small plate orders.
Beautiful little restaurant. The wine was really good and the food was flavorful and fresh! I have to go back and try more tapas! And wine, of course.
Great food. Awesome staff. Reasonable price. What more to like. We go there every year for my wife's bday
Excellent tapas. Paella, lamb chops, roasted cauliflower, mmmm. The friendliest staff.
Um yeah. This is a first. I have never felt so wanted or invited. If they would let me move in I would. This place is amazing. Please stay away, I do not want it to become more popular. But seriously. Best Place Ever!
The food is unbelievably delicious and the wine is great. The best thing of all is that the people that run this place and serve you are so wonderful.
Delicious! I wish I could have ordered more items. Great, knowledgeable staff. Good drink selections, lots of wine.
Everything about this place is wonderful -- the food is amazing, the service is authentic, and the vibe is pleasantly moody.
The place was packed, and we didn't get seated until 6:45 despite a 6 pm reservation, but it was worth it. The food was fantastic - best tapas I have had in ages.
The food is amazing, service is friendly and atmosphere is cozy. Love this place!
Fun place to try a bunch of tapas. Great wine selection too. I love the close feeling inside, it feels like a home.
Loved the atmosphere of Rincon 38. Great food and wine! The owner and wait staff were amazing. I felt like I was in Spain- I would definitely recommend!
Great food, service, and atmosphere! Definitely coming back.
A little bit expensive and despite the food was good, I didnt feel like it is a spanish traditional food. However, I have to say there had a good ambient.
We love this little neighborhood spot. The food is always on point, and because they're small plates, you can try multiple things.
What a pleasure to found back delicious "embutido" in Minneapolis. Awesome local restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Also good Spanish wines.
Great small place to hangout. The food was great. The sangria was good. The place was very clean and the server was friendly. I recommend this place.
Good happy hour specials! Tapas menu is large but pricing for some of the small dishes is too expensive for what you receive.
Loved the food, and the service! The wine , I had a Spanish Rose and it was fabulous! Would definitely go back!
Wide variety of food, and I love the sharing the small plates. The cauliflower and sea bass dishes are really wonderful.
We had paella marinera, datiles, albondigas and plato iberico. They were all delicious. We'll be back!
Great place! Would definitely recommend, staff is amazing and the food is crazy good, try the paella! Worth it!!!
Something very unique in Minneapolis. Great food, awesome staff. Small restaurant that seems to stay packed. Highly recommend, but make reservations in advance.
Bravo! Found a place to take my Catalan mom! We both loved it. Very authentic. Churros were amazing.
Solid menu and wine selection. Excellent service! Reasonable price. Beat salad was a winner!
I'm not a big fan of tapas, but I did enjoy this place! Very tasty, good mixture of flavors and good service
Seriously amazing food! Love the vibe, servers are very knowledgeable about the food and wine. I would recommend making reservations
Excellent food, so many fun choices, we could go back and order 5 different things and we'd still have more to try!
I love this place, they are very attentive and they explain every dish they have. The environment is very welcoming and fresh. I highly recommend this place.

Always fun. Great tapas, wine & staff. An amazing corner with Rincon, Grand Cafe & Victor's.
Amazing tapas and wine that took everyone back to Spain
Just about everything on the menu is good! The plates are tapas style, so plan on sharing 3 or 4 plates. Expensive but good.
Wonderful wonderful little spot in a cute area of south Minneapolis. Prompt service, unique and delicious plates, such a gem!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a great place for a birthday celebration with a few friends.
Absolutely wonderful food! Great and expansive menu, excellent wine options and service to boot!
This place is so cute and the food is bomb if you like tapas style deliciousness
Expansive menu. Solid portions for tapas menu. Well prepared and presented food. Not overly expensive.
Food and service was generally good. Seafood paella wasn’t that genuine. Just too overpriced for those small portions. Not coming back again.
Absolutely incredible, the food brought me back to Spain. Great service as well
Romantic place with great food, dessert, and wine and good happy hour. My new favorite place when I need a good bite and a glass of wine.
Food was amazing. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. It was a five star experience.
Very good food, classy place, but a bit on the expensive side. Nothing more than you would expect from Uptown prices though
Friendly staff, amazing tapas (vegetarian options available), great atmosphere.
Food is fantastic. My wallet doesn't like it though. I think it's totally worth my wallet losing a few pounds.
Simply love this place right in my neighborhood. Amazing tapas and a really wonderful wine list.

I loved the food and atmosphere. Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Incredibly authentic tapas , and the flavors are on point with what you would find in Valencia or Madrid etc

I love the food choices. It was hard to decide because there were so many interesting selections.
It has very authentic tapas and wines. There is no effort to Americanize the experience it is like a trip to Spain.

Cute cozy place
A 10 out of 5
Excellent!
Wonderful!
Amazing place.
Everything here is amazing. Small plates to share. With an incredible wine list.
The food was very good overall. Everything is a small portion so definitely keep that in mind. If you're going there and want to eat "your fill" it may get spendy. But for a sit down and eat 4-5 different dishes that are very well put together and taste great, it's a great place. Staff and service were awesome, very friendly and seemed to know the menu well. Pictured is the Meru (halibut), and Paella Marinere. The sangria was also very good. If you're okay with prices it's definitely 4-5 stars. If not, closer to 4.
