Reviews of Rinata Restaurant
Great food and the service was perfect! This is a nice spot for a date night or large dinner. I recommend the pizza or pasta for a classic Italian dinner. It’s a nice area too if you’re hopping around for drinks and dinner. They have a great selection of wine too and fair bottle prices!
My first restaurant after long journey from Europe recommended by my friend and he couldn’t be wrong!
Two huge meatballs with pasta were juicy and fresh!
Pasta is made locally in restaurant! Staff is very nice and it’s not expensive!
This is the best Italian restaurant I have been to in the US. It tasted natural and authentic, and the servers were super sweet and friendly. The restaurant itself was cozy and a good place to sit down and chat. I had the pappardelle and cannoli for dessert. My friends also loved their food. Everything was exquisite!!
The food is delicious, service was good and our waiter explained options on the menu patiently, ambiance is romantic, limited options for dinner on the menu (only four secondi), overall enjoyed the food and experience. Photos are steak (very good, though don't expect American style), chicken parmesan (good) and a margarita pizza (okay). One critique is they didn't bring us their bread before we ordered, maybe implies they didn't want us to eat bread and then leave? What were they thinking 🤔
Nice place! Kinda fancy feeling, but not so fancy that it’s inaccessible. Prices are on the higher end, but appropriately so in my opinion. A great place for a nice dinner. There are no vegan options right off the menu, however they were able to make for us a vegan pasta dish with broccolini, cauliflower, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It was delicious, especially the mushrooms! Everything from the bread to the roasted cauliflower, to the pasta, to the drinks were all delicious.
But do note that past sundown it is very dark in the restaurant. It was not an issue for us, but if you or someone you’re wanting to dine with has problems with vision in low lighting, you may want to explore other options. But if not, I think this is a great option.
Hands down the most delicious and authentic tasting Italian food I’ve ever had in MN! It is extremely rare to find a place with great quality and tasting food along with reasonable prices. I find that Italian food tends to be more on the expensive side, but not Rinata. I was incredibly shocked at how well priced everything was for how high quality everything was. And the service was just as amazing too! I went in for the Sunday date night special priced at $25 for four courses which includes bread/olive oil, an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. Every single thing I ordered not limited to the complimentary bread and oil was delicious. Everything was perfectly prepared and seasoned. I am grateful that this was my last meal I was able to eat out before all the quarantine stuff was happening. If they are open for takeout, I will gladly be back! I can’t wait for Rinata to open their doors officially again once the quarantine is over!
Lovely dinner date with my husband. Relaxing and cozy ambiance. The food was good. A standout was actually the cauliflower. Food was PIPING hot. Overall, a very nice evening.
Cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. Came to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed. Lots of people dining but still felt intimate. Espresso martinis were delicious, focaccia bread and tapenade were some of the best I have tasted, meatballs had great flavor and red sauce not to acidic. Suggest the bucatini and finish with the tiramisu. Service was super friendly, professional and made us feel at home. Great night all around.
Mista Salad was FANTASTIC! The Gorgonzola cheese is perfection. The bread and topanade delicious 😋. Butternut squash surprising as you eat each bite is better than the last. Pizza was good bigger than expected.
One of our favorite places! Food and service especially, always outstanding, and we love their wine list and selections. Always a great experience for date night!
3/1/2017:
I think Rinata is the best Italian restaurant in the Twin Cities. Everything is made in house and prepared perfectly. The cozy dining room is staffed by super knowledgeable, friendly people.
An excellent Italian restaurant with a great menu. The service is very good. The restaurant has a bar seating area if you are dinning alone or decided to go to the restaurant without a reservation. The appetizers are good, but I didn't care for the Marinated Olives. I recommend making a reservation. Street parking only. You can order food online.
I don't want to write this review because the quiet atmosphere was idyllic, but I must. Sunday date night was delicious and perfect for a teacher's budget. Thanks for a great birthday supper!
food was good the spaghetti and meatballs had good flavor, the fettuccine on the other hand wasn't so good. nice spot for a cozy date.
Amazing food. Great service. Wish I was there right now. Had the lobster gnocchi. It was a bit expensive, but worth it. The lava cake was delicious.
The food is delicious! I forgot what I ordered but I took a picture! The service is also great. It's a nice quiet ambiance and perfect for a date. The meatball appetizer is great as well, they're so tender and flavorful. The pizza is definitely different but according to my boyfriend it was delicious as well. The pricing isn't bad either, its not cheap but not that pricey.
We stopped by Renata on a Sunday afternoon and was able to take advantage of their date night special! $25 per person includes appetizer/ salad, entree and dessert.
We had a delicious appetizer and salad, fantastic entree and the tiramisu dessert was Heaven. I would love to go back again and try their other entrees and have another slice of the delicious tiramisu. The wait staff was ver friendly and attentive. We had a lovely dining experience at Renata.
This is a good middle-ground Italian restaurant, but the prices for their food keeps me from coming back any time soon.
The server was excellent, she waited on us and three other tables for everything we could possibly need and never slowed down. If I could improve the rating of the restaurant’s food because of the excellent service I would, but I understand she has nothing to do with the quality of the food.
Let me also say that the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, especially considering the somewhat awkward neighborhood the restaurant is located in. If you want to impress a date, bring them to Rinatta, especially if they like dark, quiet places to have a good glass of wine in the evening.
We ordered the heirloom tomato bruschetta, almond and beet salad, Italian blackberry soda, zucchini ravioli and the shrimp capellini.
The heirloom bruschetta came first with the salad; this was my favorite dish of everything we ate that night. The heirloom tomato was tender yet firm on the outside, when paired with the basil and perfectly baked bread it was sliced on top of, had great flavor and was excellent when dipped in the free olive oil and olive pulp mixture they provided to every table.
Unfortunately this is the best of the dishes we ate that night, as everything after this had some issue or problem.
The almond and beet salad came out with barely any dressing, which left us to taste almost nothing but the arugula and greens mixture that the beets and cheese were buried under, which is a shame because the beets were tasty and cooked perfectly. We also ended up picking several severely rotten pieces of greens out of out salad, this ended up ruining my girlfriends appetite for the salad after a few bites.
The Italian soda is pretty much what you expect, if your looking for something like the hand-made Italian sodas at Crave then you are going to be disappointed. Carbonated water mixed with some kind of blackberry syrup used in other desserts, not bad, but definitely not worth $3.50.
The zucchini ravioli was the better of the two pasta dishes we sampled; the pasta was cooked to perfection but the sauce left me feeling like something was missing. The ravioli had a great cheese and zucchini stuffing, but the tomato sauce was somewhat tasteless and bland, the dish would have benefitted from garlic and some other kind of herb in the sauce.
The shrimp capellini had two major problems: first was the pesto sauce, it lacked most of the garlic and nut platforms that most people except from a pesto. This is especially important when pairing it with something as pungent as seafood, because the flavor and smell of the shrimp easily overwhelmed what little flavor was in the pesto. The other problem was the shrimp itself, they were too salty and easily distracted me from the pesto flavor every time I ate both in one bite.
This is a pretty decent restaurant, I’m hoping this was just an off night for them when my girlfriend and I chose to visit. If your looking for decent Italian and wine this could be a great stop for you but be prepared to pay a premium for what you choose.
Lovely place. It has a warm sort of forgotten hole in the wall feel to it. Like, I really felt like we'd discovered treasure when we ended up at Rinata for a late dinner. Since we walked in close to closing time, the bartender was our server. He gave us the window table in front, never rushed or pressed us, and was really one of the best servers I've had in quite awhile. Add to that the food was extraordinary! Will definitely be back.
Service - 5 stars, amazing waiter, great service.
All menu items are as is, no smaller portions
On the half price wine... look up any bottle on the menu and divide it by two... now google the shelf price of that same wine in a liquor store. Nearly every bottle on the menu is sold at the liquor store for 5-15 dollars per bottle. They are listed on Rinata's Menu for 40-50 dollars per bottle, half price is often twice as much as what the wine is sold for. The 96 dollar bottle is sold for $30 at the store... I see what you did there Rinata!
Cocktails - I highly recommend the ginger old fashioned. Very nice! The dessert cocktails are also good.
Negra Fettuccini with braised octopus, shaved fennel, capers, and tomato. - I'm not going to pretend I am any kind of expert on squid ink pasta or negra Fettuccini, but I have had it two other times at other restaurants and really enjoyed it, would order again. Not so here. I found it very salty, kind of dry, and too fishy. You would obviously expect this dish to taste that way, but it was too strong for my taste.
Papperdelle with braised wild boar, porcini mushrooms, onions, garlic, and rosemary - AMAZING. If you have any debate about what to order, and this is one of your options, GET IT. Perfect dish.
Lamb Osso Bucco alla Milanese - also very good! Lamb is well prepared and soooooo tender. Risotto also prepared well.
This spot is in my neighborhood and I have been meaning to stop in for the last 5 years. The menu is mainly pasta dishes but all quality options. I was surprised at the quality of everything we ate. Ordered a bottle of super tuscan wine. I had lobster gnocchi that was phenomenal. Highly recommend eating here.
The food is to die for. Hand made pasta, filling portions, great wine selection and amazing service(Sarah was our great server!). I have eaten at all the big Minneapolis Italian spots and truly nothing compares.
I've been to Italy & this food takes me right back-I truly am so grateful to all the BOH staff, it was such a pleasure having dinner here!
It was a little difficult from outside the restaurant to see that they were open. The food was great, I love that there are three separate dining spaces. We were the only ones seated in our section which made for a nice cozy dining experience. Service was quick, helpful and polite.
The food was amazing. My fiance and I had the lobster gnocchi and ravioli, and both were absolutely perfect. Delicious warm/soft bread to start. Tables are kind of tight together so we were glad to get a larger high top table away from the 2 seaters that were really close. No big deal really, but just good to note in case you're not super comfortable being that close to another couple/group of 2. Our server was very nice as well. Would 100% go back!
Terrific catering!! Scott & Amor created a family graduation dinner celebration and every dish was delicious. Also so helpful with suggestions, choices to customize it. Can't say enough how wonderful it was- and I look forward to eating at their restaurant in the future!
Rinata is a great place for spot on pasta. The bucatini is my long time favorite. And the carbonara is also delicious.
Friendly waitstaff in a really cozy place.
Atmosphere: 5 stars. Food (bucatini, spaghetti, pizza): 4 stars. House made bread: 5+ stars.
An intimate dining experience with reasonable wine prices and pasta that's worth every penny. Service was seriously top notch! Well done! Will definitely be back.
We went in Valentine’s day the food was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It was a very intimate restaurant! The only trouble was parking and it really wasn’t even difficult! 12/10
We came here because our son and his gf said it was amazing! It's very good!
We had the Bruschetta (?sp) appetizer (SO GOOD!!) and we each had different pizzas...delicious!!! Quality ingredients and great staff! Would definitely come here again!!!
Nice place. Always good food. The seating ranges from great to awful, unfortunately we landed in the awful territory this time around- squeezed into the corner of a muggy room. Still, the wait staff was very nice, quick to get our food and drinks out which all tasted great.
We did a birthday dinner. The food was amazing!
Rinata is wonderful! We ate there for a second time recently and brought the parents this time around. Everyone loved the food, and our server was great as well. I appreciate their small, seasonal menu, and each dish we had was cooked perfectly. This restaurant is a gem!
10/10. I had take out a few times during the pandemic, but finally got to go in person last week. We were celebrating a friend with a large group and truly had an amazing meal! For apps we had the focaccia and olives and the eggplant involtini- so good! I'm vegetarian and had the summer special- corn ravioli. My dad is particular about steak and loves the hangar steak. Love Rinata!!
It's been 11 years since I've been back to this restaurant and I loved the atmosphere and food. I had the crab carbonara and my wife had the bucatini. Those pasta dishes provided great portions, phenomenal flavor, and pleasing to the eye. The focaccia bread is so good, my wife is going to make a recipe for it.
TL;DR it was amazing and you should go there.
We ordered takeout to celebrate an anniversary. Everything we ordered was excellent and the online ordering system was very easy to navigate! Pickup felt safe - staff all wore masks and kept an appropriate distance.
We will certainly be ordering again, and we look forward to when we can return to experience in person dining here in the future. My new favorite local uptown Italian restaurant!
Sunday evening has a four course “date night” menu we tried for our first time. The environment was quiet, spacious and tastefully romantic by the bar. Waiter was quick, but not too quick and extremely nice! Delicious made from scratch focaccia bread. Amazing food and terrific pasta. Awesome new spot, Will go back!
First off, this is the only restaurant in the Twin Cities we have been to that has reusable straws in their drinks. Quite impressive! Our service was excellent along with the food. We ordered the meatball appetizer, Caesar salad, beet salad, fettuccine Alfredo and the house made fennel sausage pizza.. The timing of the food was on point and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!
Had the pepperoni pizza and their pomo cosmo. The pizza was delicious, good crust & fresh ingredients. Their twist on Cosmo with pomegranate was very tasty
Excellent date night spot. Loved the atmosphere, loved the food even more. I’ll be craving the mushroom ravioli for a long time. Wine recommendations were perfect to compliment our meal.
I was so excited based on the reviews. But honestly the food wasn’t THAT great. Nice waitress, she was new. But it was 11:01 and this old bald man who worked there was giving us these weird looks as we were preparing to leave. You aren’t going to last long post covid if on a Friday night you are upset you have patrons who spent 130$ and they didn’t finish up until 1 min after close. He alone sealed the deal on what was already an average experience. Trying to compare it as we left we feel it’s a step up, maybe, from Olive Garden. Super bummed.
Had an amazing meal and service. Sino was a fantastic server! I had not been in for years and am now wondering why. I will be back soon!!
My kids and I ate dinner there last night for my birthday. The cocktails were delicious & the food was so awesome! All home made pasta. They even offer a gluten free pasta( not home made) that my daughter loved. We will definitely go back there!
Very delicious, nicely plated and smooth atmosphere. Came in right before the kitchen closed and had great service. Don’t be discouraged by the lack of people present. This restaurant is highly recommended.
Had a great takeout experience tonight for our first time trying Rinata. Tried the Caesar salad, the shrimp risotto, bucatini, and the tiramisu and it was all fantastic. Not to mention the service was excellent as well and very attentive even though it was a simple curbside pickup order. Will be back!!
Delightful restaurant for a quiet, romantic meal. Got a table at 5 pm for their date night special, which was delicious and accommodating of my vegetarian spouse. Great service and atmosphere that let us focus on our connection and conversation. We are looking forward to our return here!
Got takeout pizza and salad tonight and it was wonderful. Ready super fast. I walked in and the place smelled delicious. Great COVID precautions. Tasty food including complimentary bread with delicious olive dip. I also have to say I chose it for the pizza but the salad blew my mind. Highly recommend!
Really delicious pasta in a quiet, intimate setting. Great classic cocktails as well. I like that they serve bread before the entrees - not many places do that anymore! We've been twice, and will definitely go back for special occasions. It's a little pricy, but we've loved everything we've ordered!
Thanks for an incredible meal! The mussels were perfect, the Caesar salad was amazing, and our main courses were exceptional! While I wish we lived closer, we'll definitely be back!
Excellent food and great service! We had several small plates and a bottle of wine. The servers were there when we needed them but left is alone to enjoy out evening as well which is greatly appreciated! Classy yet casual atmosphere and reminded us of one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!
This is our very favorite date night spot. Every experience here has been top notch! Wonderful food and to die for cuisine from scratch! Yum!
Food is delicious, pasta perfectly al dente and the sauces are flavorful without being overpowering.
On a recommendation from a friend I had dinner there last night. The atmosphere is cozy, the server was great and management was fantastic. Most importantly the food was more than delightful. This certainly will be a permanent destination point for me and I would certainly recommend to anyone that likes a great dining experience.
Atmosphere is romantic and dimly lit, perfect for date night. However, food was nothing to get excited about. Quantity wise, servings were very small and not sufficient to make a hungry adult feel like they had a proper meal. They do a nice job with substituting regular pasta for GF zucchini pasta, however the red sauce pasta was very runny and lacked any flavor whatsoever. Overall experience was average and it's not somewhere I am going to go out of my way for. Still, if you're looking for romantic and intimate spots for date night, I would recommend this for its atmosphere.
Great home made pastas are their specialty. Mussels in wine sauce and a simple Caesar salad also recommended!
Friendly experienced service as well.
When in Minneapolis, don't miss this place!
Might be a tad expensive, but the quality of food and service will show you why.
The moment you enter the restaurant, you get a European vibe, small wooden tables and chairs and the entire place feels cozy with the various artwork hanging around.
The food is also extremely good! The Spaghetti Puttanesca will be my recommendation. The shrimp is cooked very beautifully, and the sauce feels superb. The bruschetta is an amazing appetizer to go for. When in doubt, definitely ask for help. They're super great to even change the dishes to match your preference, they have many alternatives available.
Will definitely be going here again.
My husband and I had such a wonderful time here last night. Service was amazing! We felt very well taken care of. We took advantage of the sunday night date night ($25/person). I had the involtini which was outstanding. My husband had the salmon bruschetta. For the entree, we did the bucatini and eggplant ravioli. The bucatini was one of the best pastas I have ever had. The flavor was great - I like spicy but not too spicy. It was perfect. The noodles had a nice bite to them. They make all their pastas in house so everything is super fresh. For dessert, we both got the lemon gelato. Overall, this exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be going back soon :)
Just a few blocks from my house, Rinata is an intimate little spot I eat at often. The food is always fabulous, service is always attentive, desserts are heavenly. Great pizza, too! The perfect choice for a romantic dinner or first date!
I took a yoga class while visiting Minneapolis and my yoga instructor highly recommended this restaurant - and I'm so glad that she did! Even though I was a table of 1, my waiter was super helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and it seemed like every ingredient in my dish was selected and prepared with artistry and skill.
If I could give them more than five stars, I would! So happy Rinata is open again for dine-in. Excellent restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, wonderful staff and delicious food. Will be back ASAP!
Love, love, love. Am originally from the East Coast and had been looking for somewhat of a similar atmosphere mixed with Minneapolis' own for some fabulous Italian. The food here is on point delish with the setting of the restaurant perfect for the end of the work day. Highly recommend for anyone on a first date, a date in general, casual group/business outing, or just somewhere to go to treat yourself.
Very nice place and good service, but limited menu if you happen to be vegetarian or vegan. I had the only option available for vegan which was spaghetti w vegan meatballs and did not like the taste or texture at all. The appetizers were good (olives) and both baskets of warm bread were eaten up. Very friendly server.
Rinata is a great Italian restaurant with quality food and great service. Mondays and Tuesdays they offer half off bottles of wine and on Sundays they have a 3-course $25/pp date night menu. It's a small space that's not too crowded, but rather quaint and intimate. The last time we went, we sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely friendly, attentive, and clearly knew what he was doing.
The started by bringing us an order of olive tapenade which was too good. For our appetizer, we ordered stuffed peppers which were absolutely divine and the tomato bruschetta. The bruschetta wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was still very tasty. The Caesar salads were regular. My date got the pappardelle with lamb for his main. The meat was delicious, but the pappardelle was a little too al dente for my taste. I ordered the puttanesca which was cooked perfectly, but (surprisingly) I found it a little too salty between the olives and the capers - and I love olives! There was also just a touch too much sauce on the plate. I've also ordered the carbonara and the amatriciana - both of which were executed very well, despite being very difficult dishes.
It's a very familial feeling restaurant - just what you want for a good Italian meal. We will absolutely go back, and I would totally recommend giving it a try!
We had such a great experience tonight! Our server was fun and super attentive, the arugula salad and bread were a delicious beginning to our meal followed by 4 dishes that exceeded our expectations (butternut squash ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, carbonara and margarita pizza). Our desserts were SO good!! (tiramisu & molten chocolate cake). Our kids loved it and we can't wait to go back!
My husband got the carbonara which was amazing. My mint pappardelle with the lamb ragout was impossibly good, lick the plate good. Our guests' lobster gnocchi was a close second for me. The ravioli also delicious.Becca, our server, made the night very special, very attentive, friendly and informative
Delicious Italian food with a cozy and friendly restaurant environment. Excellent wine selection. Highly recommend the steamed mussels you will need an order for every person at the table. Everything on the menu is good but I recommend gnocci.
Excellent Italian food. Highly recommend the date night option on Sunday evenings, for course meal, very filling with leftovers to go home. Every item we tried was delicious, and they make their own bread and pastas!!
I have been going to Rinata for many years. It is an absolutely lovely contemporary Italian restaurant with expected ambience and decor. The prices are phenomenally low and it is an absolute favorite of every guest I have taken to this restaurant. It may not be a five star restaurant, in fact it may only be classified as a three star restaurant, but if I were the owner of that restaurant I would be very happy with what they've created there. They do not need any accolades. They do not need any raving reports. It is perfect just the way it is. Please do not ever change. I'm a long-term resident of Uptown and this restaurant is by far my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.
The food was excellent (my date and I had the pappardelle with wild boar meat and the ravioli with butternut squash/ricotta). Also enjoyed a half priced bottle of red. The service was also great with a charming atmosphere. However, later I realized there was no music playing for ambience. Could have used that for sure, but hey, it's a little thing. Still go.
Everything we tried was very delicious and was done right. Friendly staff, great ambiance and tasty food.
While visiting family in the Twin Cities area, we came here for dinner (after a recommendation from our waitress for a good Italian restaurant while having breakfast elsewhere) and she did not steer us wrong. The food was amazing and service was great. It was so comforting to eat delicious Italian food in such a cozy atmosphere on a cold spring night. We were able to take our time and really enjoy the meal. We are definitely adding it to our favorite restaurants list for Minneapolis.
One of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in Minneapolis. Love their menu, and each time I come they have great new options. Particularly love the variety of vegetarian options they offer throughout the seasons! Amazing drink options as well.
One of a special group of restaurants we made sure to visit many times during the pandemic. Love the artisan feel and high quality.
Small, quiet and intimate place. It's a great date spot or small group (no more than 4). The small menu makes it easy to pick and share a few things. The food was great, service was great and it was just a simple and easy night out for us. It's nice to find a place that isn't overdone on anything, price included. We shared the crusted halibut and the bison ziti and loved them both.
Love this place. Dont know how I never went here after living in uptown for years. Brought my fiance here for bday dinner and we both loved it. Cozy, not busy on a Saturday night which is great. It's so hard to get reservations at many places in mpls. He had the lobster gnocchi and I had the butternut squash ravioli (my fave and usually not in season at this time anywhere else) Both were FANTASTIC. homemade noodles. Lobster was wonderful and the squash had brown butter and sage so had a nice sweet flavor! And the ricotta cheese on the sausage bruschetta was fabulous. Service was great too. Loved our waitress. Will definitely be back.
We stopped in to grab an early dinner on a sunny spring evening. We started off with an olive appetizer, which came with delicious salty & crusty bread. We both had pizzas, which were tasty and more than either of us could eat (gotta love gourmet leftovers!) Finally, we had the molten chocolate cake, which was the perfect size and sweetness to close the meal. We were delighted with the experience and will definitely be back again.
Really excellent pizza and arugula salad. The cocktail menu is also loaded with very well executed classics!
If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. I eat out on a regular basis and I would say most of the time I’m kind of disappointed in the food quality and flavor as I’m a decent cook myself. This has never once been the case at Rinata. Let me start by saying Sino (the server we have always had) makes the experience alone. He is warm, friendly, excellent on finding the right entree for each individual yet doesn’t check in every 2 mins. As a former server myself I would have to say he gets a 10/10. We were just in for date night which is 4 courses plus bread for $50. Where else can you get fresh, made from scratch food for $50 for 2 people. It’s the perfect amount of food to have you leaving full, but not super heavy in your stomach. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which I assumed would be kind of bland. Not at all! It was full of flavor and the meatballs are very generous sized. My favorite dish is the fennel sausage bruschetta. It’s sweet Yet savory and nothing like any other bruschettas I’ve ever had. Sino takes the time to describe the dishes in full detail and really helps you understand them without being annoyed by the questions. The ambience is sweet and quaint and we’ve never had trouble finding parking. If you’re looking for a nice dinner out with a warm environment, excellent food without the expensive price tag this is the place to go.
Great little Italian place just north of Uptown. This place is really, really small, and if you go on a Friday it gets quite busy, but has a lovely European vibe to it, it's fantastic. I've also gone a couple of times for their Sunday evening 'date night,' which ends up being a pretty good deal. (They also have 1/2 wine on Mondays and Tuesdays).
If you've ever walked by here one thing you notice right away is the huge whiff of garlic! Suffice to say, the food is very garlicky and very rich and so delicious. I especially love the bucatini all'amatriciana and you cannot go wrong ordering the eggplant involtini as an appetizer. Highly recommend!
We've been to Rinata several times now and the food is always delicious. The staff is professional and courteous. The decor is nice and romantic, but the open view of Hennepin Avenue takes away from the allure a little.
My wife and I had a lovely dinner tonight at Rinata ... our first time there. Delicious pasta carefully prepared, a 1/2 price bottle of Italian red wine, a lovely waitress, and the best gelato this side of Milan. Reasonable prices to boot.
Our waiter Jake did a great job from the Moment he introduced himself. This was restaurant week and we figured we try out a new Italian restaurant. Jake made great recommendations . Each part of the four course meal was displayed and tasted absolutely incredible. The thing I like most was you were not rushed and that each part of the meal came at just the perfect time. I would highly recommend Rinada. Even though it was very packed the noise level was very moderate and you could talk in a normal tone.
Quaint place with a nice rotating wine menu. I had the pappardelle w/bolognese and I thought it was excellent. Staff was courteous and the server had good suggestions. My only recommendation would be a few more traditional pasta dishes and less average fare. Having just come back from Italy, I would have like Caciao pepe on the menu or other things I had in Italy. It's not in Italy but this felt like as close we have here in MSP.
Of the items we ordered the Arugula salad, carrot risotto, and molten chocolate cake were absolutely delicious. The Risotto will take your taste buds somewhere they have never been. The Borgo Moscato was a great wine to enjoy as well.
Everything is homemade! Get the spaghetti - delicious! Ceasar salad is wonderful! And oh the bread! Mmmmm..... Finish it off with to die for tiramisu! Love it there!
Rinata is by far on my top 3 restaurants in MN. The environment is cozy and family owned. Apart from using fresh ingredients they also make most things in house. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Doesn't look like much from the outside but you know the book saying.
My fiancé and I went here for date night on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately, and the food was promptly served. We ordered a lovely bottle of moscato, parpadelle and ravioli! Delicious! The fresh bread before our main meals was a hit. This restaraunt looks dingy and closed from the outside, but it is completely worth stopping in- you won't be disappointed!
They have complimentary bread (always a nice bonus) and a very friendly staff. We were able to try Tomato bruschetta, Eggplant ravioli, Canneloni, Risotto Bay scallops, Pizzaiola hanger steak, Rhubarb crostata, and Chocolate mouse cannoli, just for $35 each which was well worth it. My favorite were the eggplant ravioli and the rhubarb crostata.
The restaurant is kinda small and cozy. You will get an affordable fancy experience . A must go places if you are going on a date. The food was tasty as well!
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxing and the service was delightful. It's the kind of place you would recommend to anyone who asked but also want to keep all to yourself.
Adore Rinata! It’s been a staple for me since I lived across the street from it in my early 20’s. It’s a casual spot with excellent food, and everything is high quality. I love the seasonal bruschettas and pastas, and the bucatini is always a win. Great wine selection, great homemade limoncello and they’ve got the best ceasar salad in town. The staff is always lovely and the cozy space makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite spots in town.
This is definitely one of my favorite date night restaurants! Amazing food, quiet, intimate atmosphere, and the service was out of this world! Their date night special is an AWESOME deal, and was more than enough for my wife and I to leave feeling satisfied.
I usually am not a fan of chicken parmesan but after tasting my husband's last night, I am a convert. Best chick parm I've ever had. Great service too! My pizza was excellent.
This is a cozy, cute little place with lovely food. The menu changes often with what's fresh. Sunday evenings they have a great date night is a great deal. You should make a point to visit this romantic little place when you're in the Uptown neighborhood.
Cozy and romantic date night
Fabulous cocktails
Fulling appetizers
Great staff
Why have we not been here for so long?? This place is so damn good. Simple Italian well done. Fettuccine fruiti de mare was excellent, as was the bruschetta. Full bar.
Great standard Italian food. Loved the olive oil and bread with minced olives, it was just delicious!
This place has excellent food. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and the wait staff was great as well. Ther only reason I am giving this a four star review instead of a five star review is because of the poor parking availability.
This place is awesome, hands down. The environment is cozy and intimate, but it's still lively with its great service and the food is absolutely amazing! The staff were attentive and friendly, and the time they took to prepare the food was totally worth it. I highly recommend the gnocchi. It's also a great place for date night!
Very small, I had a reservation for over 3 weeks and still was seated right by the door where when anybody walked by they brushed up against my jacket. Tiny parking lot behind. We Came for the house made pasta which happened to be overcooked.. Otherwise everything else was very good, and good service.
Absolutely amazing dinner from start to creme brulee finish. Our waiter was great. We will be back again.
First time here and will definitely be back! Great ambience, food, and service! We did the Sunday date night special - $25 for four courses and a fantastic deal for what you get.
We almost didn't stay because the restaurant was empty at 6:15. But we're so glad we did. The food was awesome and the service was great. By the time we left the restaurant was full.
Everything was incredible! The pasta, the pizza, the salad, the bread, the meatball sandwich, and the desserts—we tried them all and they were all amazing! Highly recommend. We will be back!
Really enjoyed the food and the waitstaff were so nice. Really great experience, hope to come back soon
Rinata is great! Best Italian in uptown. It looks not so great on the outside but it is quite nice on the inside and the food is delicious-o! Bucatini or Spag and meatballs are my favorite.
Delicious food, wine, Gelato, and coffee. Service was fantastic. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Thought the quality of the food far outweighed the price. Pasta was to die for. Felt like a dinner in my moms kitchen vs. the more intimidating, uppity atmospheres of other Italian spots in the area.
Delicious homemade pasta and excellent service. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. There was date night on Sunday, 4-course meal for $25
This has always been my favorite date night restaurant in all the twin cities for over 10 years now. It's just perfect. The food, ambiance, and staff is always a perfect trio.
I had such a good experience at this restaurant. The food is amazing and unique plus the service is great! Have been here twice and it is on the top of our list for a date night spot. We are impressed every time!
Went for Dinner on a Friday night. No wait. Food was very good. Mussels, Cannelloni, and Bucatini were all extremely good. Highly recommend this place. The outside can be deceiving but the restaurant is very good.
Very good Italian food and a quiet, intimate atmosphere. Probably best for groups of 2 or at most 4. When we went there was a larger group that was somewhat loud and annoying in the close quarters of the dining room.
The food and service was great. The lighting although dark made a very pleasant ambience.
Service: On point
Wine list: Unassuming, not obnoxious, small, only what you want, no fluff.
Meatballs: Oh my!
Ravioli: Simple. Perfect.
Carbonara: Almost exactly like the carbonara I had in Italy.
Pasta: Made in house. Chewy, al denté perfection.
If you come in the early evening, the shades may be drawn due to the sun shining in, but they are open and ready to seat you!
Not enough options without fish, serving sizes were perfect, noodles were slightly too al dente, but the Manhattan was the best I've had in years!
Cozy neighborhood restaurant with delicious Italian food.
The atmosphere is small and homey, with friendly staff and amazing food. Even their free bread is delicious. One must try food item here is there mussels!
Amazing food. I went during restaurant week and the 4 courses I had were all spectacular. It's obvious that the chefs put a lot of pride and effort into their food.
The best little Italian place in the Twin Cities area! Not only do they make everything from scratch (even their limoncello!), their service is always impeccable. Our favorite place to go for special occasions!
Some of the best itallian food I have had in the twin cities. The service is really quick and very accomadting. Actually better than the italian food I had in Rome (their food was too touristy and unauthentic).
The best Caesar salad I've ever had. It's secret ingredient is garlic!! It's amazing! Every entree there is to die for, especially their gnocchi. Go!
Absolutely magnificent. Excellent noodles, spot on texture, and splendid sauce. Also top notch service and memorable ambiance. Will gladly return.
Just got takeout and everything was fabulous. The food was hot and packaged well. Fresh pasta makes a difference!
Awesome original Italian food. The simplest spaghetti and meatballs were fantastic. Restaurant Employees we're really cool too!!
Authentic Italian in a charming setting. Perfect date place. Squash ravioli with brown butter sauce is incredible.
Wonderful food ..The pasta was as good as any I have had in Chicago and NY. Highly recommend
My fiancé and I loved this place! Delicious, homemade Italian food and a great happy hour. We'll definitely be back!
Very impressed with the food and staff. Date night on Sundays is a pretty good deal and makes for a great evening with your significant other!
When did Italian food get so spicy? That's not the way the Italians make it. The service was good, but there's more authentic Italian elsewhere.
Stop #277 for @pizzas365: Rinata has a pretty solid pizza overall, with great ingredients (albeit some greasy pepperoni) and a decent price. 4.2 Stars.
Food was delicious, wine recommendation was perfect. Only one vegetarian option on the menu, but it was very good.
Good wine list, solid service and the food was really good. Very accomidating to a large party and able to work with the several I saw that night.
Everything was great - food and service. One complaint - they charged $1.50 to put ice in my husband's drink ( bourbon & water ). What the heck!
Cozy nice restaurant! AmazingTiramisu and cocktails!
We love this family owned place!!! Such amazing homemade food, service and vibe.
Okay. Great service. Prefer the Italian at Broder’s, Terzo, and the one af 50th & France
Bread and Olive Oil was Delicious! The Food was Hot and Flavorful!
The food was excellent. The pizza and rigatoni were some of the best dishes I have had in the metro.
The food and the service was 5 Star. Had Carter for our server, he was top notch.
Place was weird as a layout goes. Food was good but nothing I must go back to. Overall a good local Italian restautant
Yummy. Unique. Thoughtful menu.
Service is outstanding! Food is really good and the ambiance is nice. Surprisingly kid friendly too. Will be back!
Sunday Date Night special is a great time to try out Rinata. Depending on when you go a reservation might be advisable.
Best gluten free pasta in the twin cities, and the pappardelle was incredible - hidden pasta gem!! Wow what a meal
Best Italian in uptown. Kind of hidden all by itself. Great spaghetti and meatballs and just about everything else you could ask for!
Great food, all home-made pasta, pleasant atmosphere, and a reasonable price. What's not to love?
Food is delicious. The Sunday "date night" menu is a great deal: 4 courses for $25.
Excellent small Italian restaurant with good wines and spirits. The fettuccini alla carbonara was outstanding!
I mean.. this place is amazing. Love the atmosphere and the bartender is on point and very astute!
We went last night, with 6 people. None of us having never heard of it before. Every meal was raved about, and each person said they will go back again.
Tiramisu was awesome, ravioli was under seasoned. Very friendly, helpful staff and atmosphere.
Wonderful date night location! 4 very well crafted courses served alongside spectacular fresh foccacia.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Really impressed by the menu and execution.
Fun atmosphere. A good amount of selection for both delicious dishes and tasty cocktails.
Great food! Some of the best carbonara and Italian food I’ve had in the states!
Amazing food, good wine selection, great atmosphere and the bartender was fantastic!
Great date night spot! Some of the tables are a little congested though - only complaint. Food was great, service was great.
Wow, I loved my 4 course dinner and wine! Great food and fantastic service!
Great food, and quaint restaurant. If you are looking for Italian food, this is an awesome place to get it.
Love this place. The food is amazing and the hostesses were the best. Will definitely go back!
Absolutely delicious food with amazing flavor. The pizza is light and delicious.
One of our favorite go-to spots. Easy curb-side during the pandemic too.
Food is good. Spaghetti with veggie meat balls was interesting. Pizzas are ok
Most underrated italian restaurant in Minneapolis
Best kept "Sunday Date Night" secret in the Twin Cities. Excellent service, food, and drinks.
Fantastic scratch italian! Wonderful service. Found parking in the lot behind the restaurant.
Delicious food! Slightly long wait because it was packed for restaraunt week but worth it!
Expensive but well worth the price! Delicious seafood and the best gelato in Minneapolis!
Food was good classic Italian, service a bit slower and inattentive, space is also cramped but overall a nice experience
Pretty good. Bread is delicious. Do NOT get the olives
Great atmosphere great food. A little on the expensive side, but not crazy.
Great and friendly service. The food was wonderful. Very cozy setting.
