Reviews of Pho 79
Nichelle Miller
The catfish in the clay pot was so damn good. I will be back. Also my friend had pork and shrimp vermicelli salad and she loved it as well. But the flavors in that clay pot was excellent!! You can get it as spicy as you want or not spicy at all. I got not spicy at all. So good!! I WILL BE BACK!!

I've heard a lot of good things about Pho 79, so we finally got to stop by today.
Staff was friendly and our waters were topped at all times.
I got their brisket and rare beef pho and my husband their pork with rice and pickled veggies. I love a good pho and they didn't disappoint, hands down their broth is amazing and I love the extra bean sprouts, basil and jalalenos on the side. My husnband loved their pickled carrots and his dish.
They have a great selection of sauces at the table (sriracha, fish sauce, etc) so you can add some spice if you wish so.
My friends got their ice coffee with sweet condensed milk and strawberry bobba tea. Good tasted really good.
We will have to come back to try more things from their menu.
The tip was already included on the bill, which was nice.
Andrea Hannem
Yummy Pho!! Also, the best sesame chicken my husband has had (with a slight crunch while covered in tasty goodness). Also— the fried pork dumplings were delish (although a tad hot and we didn’t want to let them cool). Alcohol free drink menu but quality food!

This was truly an amazing experience. The pho 79 was tasty and delicious. Lots of flavor and love was put into this dish. The eggrolls were so good I didn't know eggrolls could taste like that. If you are wondering at all about going here, do yourself a favor and go. You truly won't regret it. But if you don't go you most likely will.
Lynne Schaffstall
Food, service, excellent. Rich beef pho broth, fresh basil and toppings, and done quick and efficent.efficient. Had beef pho with pork spring roll. Absolutely worth supporting!
Alex Martin
This is hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. Excellent Pho, the thickest and flakiest egg rolls, and absolutely amazing spicy lemon grass chicken. The cream cheese wontons are a must have appetizer. I have traveled all over the United States and have yet to find a place that rivals Pho 79.

Ok guys I'm from the Northwest and came to minneapolis for work and had a pho craving and I'm so happy I did because this place was the best pho I've ever had! I feel like I'm getting scammed in the state I live in ever since I had this pho! I was halfway through with it and realized I had even added the herbs yet thats how AMAZING it was! The broth was soooooo flavorful I can't even explain it you will just have to try it! Everytime I get pho it's like a tradition to get spring rolls as well the pair are two peas in a pod! The prices were just right! All the food at this restaurant was definitely made with love! The waiter was amazing as well she was johnny on the spot with everything even though the place was packed! Keep up the GREAT work pho79

Our go-to pho place in the cities!! My partner loves their pho, and while Im not a big soup person, I find their pho quite good - it satisfies the soul. I prefer some of their other dishes. Ive tried quite a few different things (I don't think Ive ever had the same thing twice) and its always very good. The service is always friendly and quick, and the prices don't break the bank.

Went here for the first time tonight with my partner and cousins and we had a great experience! First thing I noticed was how extensive their menu is-- there is something here for everyone. They have Veitnamese, Chinese, and even some Thai dish options. We started with the shrimp and beef spring rolls and vegetarian egg rolls- they came out almost immediately and were delicious. I loved all of the dipping sauces they gave us. For entrees, we got the tofu vermicelli salad, beef pho, chicken lo mein, and chicken pad thai. Huge portions (we all had enough for left overs) and great flavor!! The service was also super fast even though there were a good number of customers there for dinner. Can't recommend this place enough! Planning to come back soon to try more dishes.
Dillon Sailer
Food was tasty and fairly priced, nothing that "stood out". Tables were a little dirty when we sat down and had to be cleaned again. Server was not very present but this could be due to a staffing shortage.
Suzanne Wood
I Love Pho 79! I took my dad there for a wonderful family date night! Great staff, fast service, reasonable pricing!
July Vang
I caught up with a friend here over lunch on a Saturday. We got there right when the lunch crowd started trickling in. We were seated in a nice booth away from the larger crowd. Spacing is well maintained. Staff had masks at all times. I ordered the bun bo hue and my friend ordered the rice platter dish.
I didn't enjoy this bun bo hue. It had a distinct tomato-flavor that wasn't to my liking. I tried to acclimate to the flavor hoping it will build on me, but it just couldn't win me over. The meat were tender, noodles chewy. Side veggies and herbs enhanced the aroma and flavor to the dish. But overall, I think the broth just didn't compliment everything else as I had hoped. I'll stick to pho next time.
S M
One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! Was a little grumpy last time I ordered take out, my broken rice dish was plain old rice and a little mushy. Has happened twice now (both take out and in person dining)
Mao Xiong
Favorite thing on the menu is fried sesame chicken wings! Crispy, tasty and sticky! Pho is good too! Good lunch special. Calimari is oily and salty in a yummy way. Only thing is I didn't like the boba tea since its made with powder.
Yeej Vang
The best place in the TC area for pho, always consistent, delicious, piping hot and so well presented. Their other dishes are delicious as well and the shrimp egg rolls are to die for.
Tana
So it's not the prettiest restaurant, but boy is their food tasty! I never had calamari cooked so perfectly. Their service is quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend Pho 79.
Yeyeo Queen Steam
Food was awesome service was great my food come fast and hot. I Will definitely be back soon but we live close by the one in Roseville!!!!
So I will probably check that one out on my next visit.
Matt Klava
Pho 79 Nicollet boasts some of the best Pho on Eat Street at an incredibly efficient pace. Their friendly staff is incredibly accommodating and the menu is full of great Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. I've eaten here several times a week for years and never once been disappointed. Must try spot, a staple of the Southside
Mallory Strehlow
The sesame chicken was amazing, and a lot of food! Haven't tried any of their other dishes though.
Mai Yang
The pho was decent. Their meat is a bit fatty but the broth was decent enough. The egg rolls and cream cheese wontons were pretty good.
Sylvia Strom
Wonderful Pho, fresh accompaniments, great service. Wish I had taken a picture!
Amanda Milbrett
First time ever trying a Vietnamese noodle bowl, and now I'm hooked. The food is great, I'll always take my friends and family for a special dinner here!
Mary Schlaphoff
Lots of good pho on Eat Street, but these guys are my favorite.
Fernando Ortega
One of the most delicious Pho I've ever had, I highly recommend it
Gabriel Petersen
My go-to for pho, good cream cheese wontons too!
Brian Osweiler
I loved their pho and I think the City Pages award was well deserved. These guys have the best Pho in the area and prompt friendly service to compliment. We’ll be back soon.
Undifinder
One of my most favorite authentic Phở place you can get in Minneapolis especially with the generous portion for it as well! They also have other pretty tasty regional dishes from Vietnam for great price.
Julie Chiu
After living in the neighborhood for 6.5 years, my husband and I finally had dinner at Pho 79! The restaurant is more pleasant and spacious than it appears on the outside. We tried CHẢ GIÒ (pork eggroll) it reminded me too much of a typical Chinese eggroll. My husband had the Pho 79 and he ate it all! I had the Pho Tai - it was a generous portion with lighter broth. My only complaint is that they were understaffed (there were 2 large parties though) and we stood at the front waiting to pay for what felt like 5 minutes. I'd definitely return for another meal!
See Cha
The owner was yelling n cussing at one of the waitress so loudly it made me feel uncomfortable. The food was ok but there was hardly any noodles in the pho but lots of broth. Overall the food was average n would've been better if the owner didn't treat n yell at their employees like they did. Plus u have to ask for the chili oil.
Charlie X
This place is awesome!!! It's inexpensive and delicious. The Mongolian Beef is my favorite and the Wontons here have a hint of garlic flavoring, not sweet, amazing!
Putea Shetvo
Fantastic local gem, real authentic food, reasonable prices, excellent service!!! Thank you guys, keep it up!
Thomas Moua
Haven't been here in a while but I had their pho and didn't like the flavor. It had a sour lime taste to it. Their other dishes looked really good though.
Mark Jenkins
Hey listen up vegans, vegetarians, and fried rice lovers!
I just DEVOURED the restaurant's Vegetable Fried Rice!
IT IS THE BEST VEGETABLE FRIED RICE THAT I HAVE ORDERED IN THE CITY!
NOT PUTTING THE OTHERS DOWN!
NO SHADE!
PHO 79!
Avaire JustDesserts
Went into this place with no expectations and came out after having a delicious meal. The pho is excellent here
David Ducharme
Great food at great prices! Lots of variations of phó. Ride together, parking can be tight in this area, but its worth it.
Eric Schmid
if i could have the #12 and a can of coke every day of my life, i would.
Jennifer Corley
They know what they are doing.
Best eggrolls here!
Isabelle W
Whoa! Amazing service and food. I will definitely be coming back here.
Camellia Kalra
I love Pho79/Caravelle. It's like two restaurants combined but you can sit anywhere and order off either menu.
Trinka Huynh
Best place for traditional Vietnamese dishes! We come here often and haven’t been disappointed. The pho broth is incredible, soft and flavorful at the same time. Their salads, fish and soups hit the spot.
Craig Opitz
Definitely contends for the best Pho in town.
Alexander Garber
I ordered the Crispy Sesame Chicken and it tasted like fish. I don't like fish. Fortunately my girlfriend ordered Pho and wontons and both were delicious. If I hadn't ordered chicken that tasted like fish, I would have given this 5 stars.
Francis Mai
Visited this location in Minneapolis after trying the one in St Paul. At first, I wasn't sure if both Pho 79s in the twins were associated with each other or not, but turns out they are owned by the same family. Ordered my usual order for any typical pho restaurant...pho dac biet and a soda chanh to compare and test the consistency with the St Paul location. There is no doubt, the recipes are consistent...oh and fantastic. The broth is perfect. So craving Pho while in Minneapolis or St Paul... here's a great go-to pho place.
justin demike
The Pho is great. They also have some classic American Chinese dishes that are way better than most. The sesame chicken is crispy and spicy and only slightly sweet. They also have more authenic Vietnamese dishes, broken rice platters, and noodle salads that are amazing. You should eat here.
Insu Park
Very tasty and good👍😉 …
Julie Bishop
Really great food in a kinda dingy restaurant. The tossed beef, lemongrass chicken, catfish and noodle dishes all were incredible. They had really great egg rolls too. We were brought there by a vietnamese woman so you know it is well liked within that community!
David Speidel
Great Pho and friendly, personable service. I will be returning regularly.
Patrick Murphy
Best Pho on Nicollet. Period.
Emily Braverman
My favorite Pho place!! Love this restaurant. You get your food fast, and it tastes great. I order veggie pho, which I found it hard to get good Veggie pho because it usually tastes like nothing. But this place uses beef stew and adds plenty of vegetables so its delicious.
se va
I know everyone has their best spots for pho but this place is one of the best in town. Been around for a long time and always serves the same consistency of good pho and food. The fried salt and pepper squid is amazing. Portions are always big and the flavors are always spot on.
Lee Kafkas
Best Pho broth (both beef and non beef varieties) I've had in town. Terrific chicken wings. Some real good stir fry standouts like the lemongrass chicken, the Mongolian mock duck, and sesame chicken.
Real nice people run the place and very reasonable too.
The place is not much to look at so that could be off-putting to some, but that might also be keeping this place a little less crowded like others down the street so it's fine by me!
Daniel D
Was recommended by a buddy because of my love for southeast Asian cuisine. The service was great, we ordered beef pho, beef fried rice, cheese wontons, and another dish; received everything in less than 15 minutes. Pho was good but I've definitely had better elsewhere, would still recommend however!
Shela Usadi
This place is supposed to have one of the best Pho in the Twin Cities. I had Pho here around 2 years ago and I believe that statement to be true. However, when I came back last weekend, I tried the Vietnamese salad which is usually fantastic in the Energy Park Pho 79 and it was soooo bland. The taste and quality of ingredients is definitely sub par compared to the Energy Park location.
Pro tip: If you want good Pho, this place is great for it but if you're in the mood for amazing Vietnamese salad, go to the Energy Park location.
Stephen Schmida
For the last 15 years on Uptown, Pho 79 has been constantly great, fast and reasonably priced. Obviously great Pho, but also great Egg Fu Young and Egg Rolls.
Lawrence Aderinkomi
Hands down the best sesame chicken in Minneapolis. Fried to perfection. The batter is very light and crisp. You won't get a mouthful of batter wondering if there was ever any chicken like at most Chinese restaurants. The chicken morsels they cut are succulent. I will never compromise and go to another place.
Roma Giannina
My favorite pho place in town. Quick service. Knocking off one star as it could definitely use a deep cleaning- the mirrors, wood paneling and bathrooms are pretty grimy. But excellent food. My comfort food place when I’m sick or down.
Ryan Hayle
Decent, mostly American Chinese lunch buffet for only $8. Included Vietnamese fried spring rolls instead of typical, disgusting egg rolls, so I was happy! Not huge, but still plenty of food and it seemed like everything was replaced promptly. Service was good. Will be back to order off the menu.
Nichole McIntosh
I've been coming to eat here for years and I've never been disappointed. It's my favorite Vietnamese place on Nicollet. I usually order the pho with rare lean beef & meatballs. I also like the shrimp egg rolls. The bun bowls are tasty. The pork with egg and broken rice is another favorite!
Salika Pao
42. Beef over rice noodles.
Probably the nest in the twin cities.
Amanda H
The best pho in town. I love this place, moved closer to it, and have been coming back for five years. There's nothing fancy in the decor, but the servers are nice, the cooks are quick, and the broth is heaven. No other word does it justice. Divine.
Nicholas Brown
Pho is impressively good, the baseline which I judge any other's pho on. Service is curt, which I appreciate. I go there to chow down on a quick bowl of soup and get out. Spring rolls are also quite good. Their sesame chicken is especially tasty- very crispy breading without over-cooked meat.
Kathryn Joy
You can never go wrong at Pho 79. The service is great and they are so kind! Our waitress ran out after us just to make sure she said Happy Holidays this weekend. Too sweet!
For the food--I dream of it every night. The pho is classic and delicious but in my new vegetarianism, I had to say goodbye to the beef broth base that pho uses. But HELLO to the vegetable egg roll noodle salad! It's glorious. The bun noodle salad is perfectly balanced with the right ratio of ingredients and the sauce is to die for. But it is the vegetable egg rolls that put it over the top. Best egg rolls in the city if you ask me.
I know that eat street can be intimidating or feel like a hassle because of parking but don't forget that there's a lot right next to Pho 79. I never have an issue parking and it's, perhaps, even easy.
Go! It's fantastic.
Lambert Lum
We went here on a Saturday night, after 7 PM and the place was busy. The place was under staffed and poor service as a result of it. All staff members were rude and uppidty. They weren't rude to just us, but to everyone. Long wait to get water. Long wait time for orders to be taken, and no one checking up on you until you request for it. Again it was everyone, not just us.
We have been coming here for years, but the quality of food and service has declined the last few times we have gone. It used to be one of our favorite places to go for Pho but after this last experience we will not be returning. The people there seem like they don't enjoy what they are doing, and it shows in their customer service. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the food is still decent and good deal for the price. I recommend take out though.
Lee Jason Jongseok
Probably the best pho place near Minneapolis
Bryce Howitson
Go for the food not the ambiance. I've always had tasty food though I stick with the Vietnamese options instead of venturing too far into the other Asian dishes.
The dining room is pretty beat up, it can be hard to find parking, and it's a bit more expensive than similar Asian options. But the staff is friendly and the food is good which is why you we're going there anyway.
Andrew Birch
Pho79 is my goto place when I want great soup, good, pleasant service and no fuss. They have later hours than other places and I never leave unhappy. their takeout has good portions for the price and the food is very consistent.
Brandon
Sesame chicken say no more! Very well done, delish!
Ben Severns
Pho 79 is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the whole country. Always great, heaping portions that are invariably tasty and satisfying.
Rachel Baccam
Delicious! I’ve been here many times over the last 25 plus years. Always wonder food. Just like in their name, Pho’ is on the menu! I would 100% recommend trying the Pho’.
Muscle Movers MN
Great food. Awesome. Great prices. Wontons (cream cheese) incredible. Staff very friendly.
Emanuel Sas
I love phone and this place is amazingly delicious. The broth is fantastic. They have many combinations of meats and additions you can have. I mainly go here for pho. I have had spring rolls and pad Thai and those were also really good.
The atmosphere is ok. Staff is nice. They do have a small parking lot attached to their. Uikding, which is nice for this busy area.
Bee S
Vegetable egg rolls were delicious. Togo, they were a little too greasy. Pho 79, you have a new customer for your pho! Chicken pho Togo was packaged perfectly for no spills. A few more noodles would have been nice but the flavor of the broth is great! I'll be back for more!
Courtney
This is by far my favorite place for Pho (#5), boba tea (taro), and fresh spring rolls; in the twin cities! The Pho is like a comforting hug for your tummy. I hope you love it just as much as we do.
Melanie Holmes
Amazing large servings of pho! They don’t serve alcohol but they have a variety of non alcoholic options like bubble tea.
Cullen Tanner
This has been our favorite place for pho for nearly 20 years! Very consistent high quality food and service. The very best pho, egg rolls, and cream cheese wontons in town. The broken rice dishes are very good, too.
Danielle Scott
Waitress was patient and helped me figure out how to order my food vegan and it was all very delicious! My daughter loved the noodles. 😊
Cheng Hang
Food was really good, probably the best in the area 3-5 years ago. Quality has significantly dropped the last 3 times I went. Example: spring rolls look like they were used with leftover lettuce. Sure tasted like it too.
Benjamin Hubert
I absolutely love Pho 79. I am sure I order a very american-ised dish but I love it and recommend it for anyone in the area.
Large menu of Vietnamese items and plenty for those of us who order items we more or less understand and know. :)
Sasi Lee
I think he price is good and the food portions are big so I give 4 star they lost 1 star cause they need some cleaning and better service from the older ladies. They will rush you when is busy so make sure you make them repeat back what you order to make sure they didn’t miss anything or wrote down the wrong order. The food is great especially the Clay pot Eel.
misterLEE
Consistency in pho flavor keeps me going back
kelsey bocek
The only Pho place I go to! I am always seated where I want to be and never mistreated. The variety is huge to select from and the dishes are not bland, it's packed with flavor. Parking may be tight but it's worth it!
Kezia Germ
Friendly staff! Every Pho combination you could ever think of are available. Food was very quick and delicious. Having a parking lot made getting there very easy. Would recommend! 💕 …
Tram Jones
One of our go-to places for large family gatherings, especially for U.S. holidays like Mothers Day, as they aren't crowded like typical American restaurants on these days. The pho is decent; broth is a little weak, but this is one of the last restaurants that serve sawtooth herb, Thai basil, limes, jalapenos, and bean sprouts in sufficient amounts. The Pho 79 is a huge bowl of soup! Get it if you're really hungry. The fresh and fried spring rolls are excellent and served promptly. Also a bonus: real Vietnamese coffee served with the mini french press over your cup with sweetened condensed milk and a tall glass of ice; no premixed coffee here! Service is wonderful and quick. Plus a delicious tri-color dessert drink which is harder and harder to find at pho restaurants. I always try new places, but we keep coming back to this one. Only 4 stars because the restaurant could also use a good scrub down.
Andrey Mamnev
Fantastic Pho!
Honestly, this is the best place to get Pho or other cuisine if you are in the area or anywhere in the cities. The broth is fantastic, the menu has a wide selection, and their vietnamese iced coffee is to die for. Literally I go there for two reasons, the Pho, and the Coffee. However my girlfriend found a lighter course there that she prefers and is still very filling and afforable.
Highly recommend Pho 79, great place to eat out.
Liem
Servers were sort of friendly, but told us we weren't able to sit in certain areas of the restaurant for an unidentified reason, which was odd. I had the pho special as well as the appetizer platter and clay pot fish. No dish specifically stood out. The pho was pretty bland in my opinion and needs more traditional seasoning. Would only go here if in a pinch
Patience Metal Fabrication
One of my new favorite places! The seasme chicken is perfect mix of sweet and heat! Although on my second visit, the mice running across the floor in the back booth area makes me hesitant on returning.
Nathan Smrekar
This is what pho should be; fantastic, flavorful, and fast. They're up making stock for us pedestrians beginning in the early morning hours when we sleep = delicious. Great food, quick service, and tasty Tiger beer!
Heather Strand
Great food, good service. The restaurant was a little dirty, vents had a thick layer of dust on them, which turned me off a bit, but I do love the Pho and Bun salads.
Shane Neibauer
Very good food! Enjoyed the pepper steak. Great group environment
Elle Bea
Best pho restaraunt in all of eat street! I highly recommend jumping all in and getting the pho 79 special, it will be the tastiest, most filling pho you will ever try. I love how fast they serve the food- my wait time was appx 5 minutes. A major added bonus is free parking lot on the side of the building. You will leave feeling full, and very happy.
Juan Scrambo
Best sesame chicken in Minneapolis, in my opinion. Light and crisp, perfectly seasoned, sticky, umami. Their shrimp dumplings, egg rolls and braised catfish are also exceptional. The pho is incredible; I understand why Andrew Zimmer sings this restaurant’s praises. Highly recommended
Effortless Plum
LOVE PHO 79. Prices are awesome food is amazing ! Will not be disappointed I've been many times Especially with friends and family they all love it as well. Pretty good lunch buffet dinner menu is great it's just really good defiantly my favorite place for Asian food in south Minneapolis
Matt Pauletti
The most delicious Pad Thai in the Twin Cities. We drive all the way across town to get it. The dining area lacks atmosphere, but it doesn't matter. You're there to eat delicious food.
Stacy Yang
After an art show in the area, we decided to go to a pho place on Eat Street and settled with Pho 79 around 7:30 p.m. It was everyone's and my first time there since we rarely go to Minneapolis.
We got seated quickly, but were near a loud family of four or five at the front corner seated on a circular table - trust me, having placed the circled table on the corner and our long rectangular tables were quite annoying because it's where people went in and out behind us. It would be nice if they redesigned the table space just a tad...
Anyways, we got our waters soon and ordered: sesame wings, pho 79, chicken pad thai, grilled pork and egg roll rice noodle salad, and catfish cooked in a claypot with white rice (not pictured as I forgot to take it).
SESAME WINGS
The sesame wings came out first, being super hot and crispy, which was great; the wing size was a bit small though. The sauce stuck to the chicken well, but I wasn't a big fan of it being so sweet. My boyfriend raved about it, while my sister and brother were neutral.
CHICKEN PAD THAI
The dish was alright; chicken and noodles were tender, the flavor was there but lacked something "Thai." I know it's a Vietnamese restaurant's attempt, but I've had my share of pad thai dishes and this was okay.
PHO 79
From my brother's prospective, he's had and can make better pho. He noted that the broth was warm, not hot, and the flavor could be better. It may be restaurant preference, but we prefer piping hot pho broth - there is no other way to have it.
GRILLED PORK AND EGG ROLL RICE NOODLE SALAD
The salad was good with the dressing. I believe the only things missing were mint and cilantro - again, personal preference. I had to tear some basil leaves from the pho toppings small plate to give it more freshness, as it came with lettuce, pickled carrots and green onions only.
CATFISH COOKED IN CLAYPOT WITH WHITE RICE
The photo looked good, but the dish came out better. The fish was tender and the rice was perfect. My boyfriend only wished that it didn't come with so many bones as you really have to pick at it to eat it carefully. I was thinking nice filets of the fish would be in the dish, but it's actually small catfish steaks. I get this method as bones can add flavor/moisture to many dishes.
Service was alright. You really have to flag your server for beverage refills - I had to ask twice. During our time there, it was busy when we entered, but died down throughout our meal so I felt my water request could have been addressed faster. My brother noticed that the other side of the restaurant had nicer/better seating, so request that if you're there next time.
Overall, portions were appropriate to price and service was alright. Our total came to be $61. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant as we don't go to the area much.
Dan Ng
Had the pho here and was overall good. There are better options nearby, but overall pretty good for a change of pace. The buffet does look tasty though, so maybe I'll give it a try one day.
Esmeralda Vang
They have great food, fast service, and friendly staff and owners. However, they have a certain staff member who is very rude, impatient, ignorant, and always gets our order wrong when she is our waitress. We try our best to avoid her and to be seated in a different section. She is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.
mbsmedberg
Delicious cream cheese wontons, they taste soo much better than anywhere else! I’ve been coming here since I was a teen and I’m 34 now, the food and prices have always been good and great service. One of my faves!!
Josh Becknell
Best bun in town. That is pronounced "boon", and number 38 bun is my thing. Freshness and flavor can vary a bit on time of day, and day of week. The very hard-working staff have kept up with the big boost of popularity which the whole block has enjoyed over the past few years.
Anna Kendig Flores
Some good items and others not so much. Have been here twice. The noodle soups are good and the Bùn, but I prefer the broth base, fish sauce and overall quality of Pho Tau Bay down Nicollet around the level of 28th st.
Dharma
Served one of the best beef broth pho in the area. The food portion was generous and price was fair. The only down side was the lack of tripe on their special pho 79.
The service and decor can be improve but I was there for the food rather than the ambiance.
Seth Moline
Some of the best Pho in the city! Fast service and fair prices. Try the Vietnamese Coffee
Lance G
Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. One sip of the pho and you are 4 years old sipping your favorite soup from your grandma. The homeyness of the place fits the bill, and a tune of star anise will ring thru
Peter DeMaio
While the ambiance and service are nothing special, I rate them as excellent because the food and price makes up for it. Order the Pho (any kind you want) wiyh extra noodles for $1.00 more and you have a huge bowl of delicious soup full of fresh herbs big enough for 2 meals for around 10 bucks. Can't beat that in the city. If you're going to Noodles and Co. over this place, seriously reconsider your life.
Tamers Art
Their sesame chicken is so good, it's literally addicting and their pho is some of the best I've had yet!
Mandy Samuels
Not the place to impress a date but a great place to impress your wallet. A good bowl of pho at a great price. I love to go there for a tasty lunch on a dreary day. It is light and fresh and always reminds me of a warm beach.

I can go Pho-free for about a week, sometimes a week and a half. About then, the craving sets in and I slink over to Pho 79.
Pho is all about hot broth, slurping noodles, and the aromatic sting of basil, and Pho 79 is all about Pho. Yes, yes, you can come and order bun. You can get fried rices, and various other soups. But the name on the door is pretty telling. If you come to Pho 79, get the pho.
Bryan Tollefson
Pho 79 is great but the Caravelle location is even better. Pho is fantastic, and the sesame chicken (as far as I know you can only get at this location) is music to your tongue
Charlie Xiong
The pho here is really well made. The service is fast. However, the restaurant could improve on cleanliness. And the parking is very limited. You are lucky if you can park on the side of the building.
Michael Bodner
Amazing pho. One of best in twin cities. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine
Adam Cameron
I have been here many times and enjoy the food very much. PHO 79 has excellent dishes (hot and spicy squid, PHO, Bun, and the CHRISPY SESAME CHICKEN), and I appreciate their huge menu.
MN King1399
Really good food. Came here for a date and I loved the food. I'd come back here again.
yannely sanchez
Very good food. And fast service!
TJ Wondergem
The food is awesome, the service is great and we had our food in no time. Had the pho 79 special and it was everything I was looking for. Plus the portions are huge for a great price.
Parker Alton
Love the food, including the options other than pho. The first time I went I had to sit for about 15 minutes before someone said anything to us, but all subsequent visits have been stellar.
Bobby Tao
One of the most authentic Vietnamese experience in the Twin Cities. The phổ is always one of the best. I also love the broken rice combination platter (number 45).
Christopher Goh
Been going here for years. Great food, best egg rolls in town.
Dana Blaschko
They said "best pho in Minneapolis" and having had it, Yep. I believe it. I had the number 8, rare beef pho and it was very good. Nice flavorful broth, lean meat, fresh herbs and veggies.
Danielle Heier
Best Pho ever!! Always fresh well prepped and fast! puts all other pho places to shame. they could however work on cleanliness. as far as the food dont change a thing!
Martin Corral
Love this place! I get their pho at least once a week. Also, the vibe in the restaurant is very cozy and homey great for those cold winter nights
Sandy Jenkins (Mid Corner Manners)
Great food and lots more than just pho. I love the shrimp egg rolls, they now have bubble tea and so much more. Everything I've tried is very authentic.
Amber Bob Sjomeling
I go here for lunch regularly with coworkers and it is always good. Pretty standard buffet of Chinese food, but the menu of Vietnamese entrees is where it really shines.
Marie Bridget
Delicious food and reasonable prices! Hefty portions make it my favorite. The staff is very attentive and kind. Great place for a date. Romantic atmosphere.
Paul V
The food is good, the Men's bathroom is very very DIRTY! tiles on the wall missing, the tile wall is so dirty, the inside door, all kind of writting on the door. the floor so dirty too. There is a big hole about 2 x 3 Feet open, you can see the pipes.
How they pass the inspection?, I wonder how is look in th kitchen. If I ever go there again, I should take a pictures.
Meli Ndubi
As always, delicious and filling pho. Tasty spring rolls. Do not like their cheese wontons, especially their sweet and sour sauce. But great value
Debbie Dickson
Get the spring rolls! My little friend introduced me to Vietnamese food in Chinatown in New York City. Pho79 is the best Vietnamese food in the city and everyone that works there is absolutely lovely!
Hunter Ness
Best pho in mpls. I've eaten here over a hundred times in the last 10 years and have never had anything but exceptional food. People complaining about service and ambiance, I recommend Olive Garden or applebees.
Madeline Strom
Very good food. Three stars bc there is nowhere to change a baby's diaper. They sent me up 2 floors to use a narrow wooden bench in top of concrete when I asked if I could use an empty booth.
Amikogaabawiikwe
One of my favorite spots in the twin cities. Quick service, AMAZING food, and the pho cannot be beat. Try a bubble tea on your next visit. Yum!!!
Kierra Ward
Got my order right even though I ordered a lot, the lady remembered it with out writing it down! Good costumer service and great food. Go to place to get pho in Minneapolis! ☺️
Laura Newland (Herweyer)
I really enjoyed the Pho. The spring rolls and egg rolls were amazing. The best I have ever had in the city! Service was a bit scattered.
Jamila Anderson
Amazing without the BS - you enjoy and pay for great food and service without the unnecessary fancy decor. Down-to-earth, excellent value and hands down my favorite on Eat Street.
Cuong Rolex
Linh, (a recent arrival from Vietnam) the waitress here is very nice & sweet. She goes out of her way to accommodate your needs. I like coming here to see her nice smile, and chit chat with her. The foods here are excellent tio. I like CanhCuuaCaKhoTo & BunBoHue.
Dave Campbell
Unpretentious Pho served as it should be. The spring rolls are nicely done if you're looking to add to the Pho, it will be a filling meal.
Robert Stevens
Had the Pho Tai. It was at my table within 2 minutes and very hot. It wasn't the best pho I've ever had but it was still very satisfying especially for the price. I would go here again.
Jolane Jones
I love the #16 pho which is rice noodle soup with shredded chicken. The broth is delicious. The pork egg rolls and broken rice plates are also very good.
Mike Undlin
Easily one of my five favorite twin cities resteraunts, and low price for such quality food. Opens at 10:00 which is rare, never a wait at that time.
Long Le
I’ve been eating here since I was a child. Over 20 years now. The owners have been the same and the pho likewise.
One of the best places to get pho in the Twin Cities.
Thomas Gearman
The best Vietnamese food in the state - at least that's what my friend says. Considering that he's from Vietnam, I'll take his word. Love #36!
Merissa Scheumann
My first Pho experience. It was delicious! Service was prompt and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Easy parking, too.
Jonathan Roberts
Food is fantastic and very well priced. The interior design is lacking and old but that's expected for Vietnamese restaurants.
Best eggrolls in town.
G Even
Pho is amazing. Best in town. Service is not so amazing. Efficient I guess. Just not too friendly. Good food though so I put up with it.
Delta Keating
My favorite restaurant, the first place I went out to eat when I moved up for college. Reasonable prices and tasty food. I recommend the sesame wings!

Quality standby. This is where my Vietnamese friends go, so that tells you a lot. Prices are reasonable and nothing's really changed for years - which I like. Also this place sells beer buckets ;)
Amanda Worthington
Super good! I love their pho it's good that they have so many different types but I wish they would add a vegetarian option
MishaMPLS
Consistent Pho, always satisfying. We could argue all day about whether it's the best in town but I know I've never been disappointed.
Brandon Gibbons
It's really good pho, and the place is surprisingly big on the inside. Service is incredibly fast. Don't expect to be able to park in the parking lot around lunch or dinner rush.
