I’ve dined at P.S. Steak a few times in the past, so when I was thinking of a place to have a birthday dinner with my family it was an easy decision. They offer complimentary valet which is great considering street parking in the area is limited. The ambiance of the historical building is nice and our table for ten was in the lounge area near a cozy fireplace and bar. The food was excellent – everything from our starters through dessert was delicious, but the highlights for us are the high-quality steak selection from family farms. They also have an extensive wine menu which we enjoyed in addition to a bottle we brought. I can’t speak highly enough of the service the staff provided; they went above and beyond to make my evening extra special – from our server to the Assistant General Manager and Culinary Director and beyond. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoying a nice night out, I highly recommend P.S. Steak.

Really great experience for our first time here! The service was attentive but not pushy, the drinks were on point, and the food was amazing! Be sure to check out the dry aging cooler in the dining room, so neat to see the difference right in front of you. We ordered a salad to share and oysters as a first course. I got the butchers cut special and my husband ordered the dry aged bone in ribeye. Both were top notch, his being fat superior to mine, you could really taste the dry aging! The fries and mushrooms were great side dishes!

Very nice ambiance at brunch. Quiet and quaint. I love the variety of cocktails and foods. I was surprised it wasn’t too busy. Got the lamb burger, crab cake Benedict, and crab toast. Best item was the benedict. Very flavorful and the sauce was perfect. The toast was very refreshing, only downside was the bread. It was too thick and dry for the crab mixture on top. Lamb burger was also dry. The bread really let down the lean meat. I would go back and try other items, and definitely go back for dinner. Truly would give this place 3.5/5 stars.

If you’re looking to celebrate a special event or just an amazing date night look no further. First off the ambience of the Bar is like the mafia’s finest and the dining room is cozy and warm. The seafood tower and meatballs are a must have as an appetizer to kick things off. The chop salad of the night was perfectly paired with the freshest vegetables and a light green goddess dressing. The Denver steak was cooked to perfection with the most flavorful herb seasoning and the crab cake was all meat and no filler. The sides were a perfect complement to the steak and it was a tossup between the fries, hashbrowns and cheesy mashed potatoes. To top off the meal you must spurge on the strawberry cobbler warmed with ice cream. Lastly the service was second to none and it’s so hard to find good service coming out of the pandemic. Emma was attentive to our every need, very knowledgeable with the food and beverage menu and had the perfect sense of humor to match. Get your reservation in today at PS steak. You will not be disappointed!

My friend and I came here for happy hour and it was delicious! The service was great and they have a good selection of cocktails, which were on point. We had the lamb burger sliders, chop salad and hash browns. All of the food was delicious with the hash browns being my top pick, as they were so crispy and buttery.

Now that Burch has closed this is my favorite steakhouse because you get great food and service without the pretentious attitude you get at Manny's. You can get a top of the line steak wearing a sweatshirt. They also have a burger and old fashion for $20. The do have a formal dining area if you do want to get dressed up and do something special. The only downside is that the drinks are only slightly above average. The do have complimentary valet (don't forget to tip though).

This was our first experience with P.S. Steak for a birthday and we left full and happy. It was one of the top 5 dinners I've personally had. Stacey was our server and she was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. She made the whole meal 10x better than it already was. Our oysters were perfect, the dry aged ribeye was tender with an tasty crust on the outside, and the Baked Alaska for desert was delicious. We will be returning! The ambience of the whole place is fascinating as well.

Delicious steakhouse. In my mind the best in the twin cities, with a price point to match. This is the second time we've been back and it didn't disappoint. You can really taste the quality of everything you order. Superb apps, sides, and of course - steak and seafood. The cocktails are also great. If you are on a tighter budget, I recommend their happy hour menu - the burger is delicious and a great deal for the quality.

Super great service. Picanha was cooked perfectly and the perfect amount of sear with that little crunch. I had the bearnaise which had a nice twist to it as a curry bearnaise. It was a nice change up on bearnaise but not as good as regular with more lemon taste. I don't like mushrooms but I like places to surprise me with their Sautee. They knocked it out of the park. I tried to pair the bearnaise with the mushrooms and it took away from the flavor of the mushroom. Wait staff is solid. Quick and fun to chat with. I didn't give this place 5 stars for two reasons. The meat was not tender enough considering the price and the masks plus mandatory showing your vax card. I can't imagine how many people are humiliated at the door because they didn't realize the policy. I would have been ambarrased if I left it at home or had a medical exemption. I'm sure when that policy ends this will be a 4.5 star restaurant. I liked the cozy quiet atmosphere.

High quality food, wonderful waiter service, and great ambience. I would highly recommend food here. Be forewarned that the food is quite pricey but the quality is well worth it. Also the complimentary valet service made our night feel even more special. Would recommend the hash browns, the pan seared scallops, and the crab toast! The 32oz aged bone-in steak is well worth the price. There is enough to take home at the end of the night. Thanks!

Our bartender was great! The burger was the best part and the sauce on it was delicious. I felt like the steak was tough and didn't have a ton of flavor but it was cooked really well. The potatoes were amazing.

Excellent and complex food and drinks for quite an affordable price given the quality and ambience. Max clearly loves mixing quality cocktails and it showed by the flavor and his joy. The manager was proud of her restaurant and rightfully so. What an amazing way to spend an evening.

Let me tell you, this place was great! The location and building are unassuming. Who knew inside you would be greeted by not one but two areas to eat in. The first is much more casual and open. The second, where we ate is more formal and intimate. The food, and be forewarned was not cheap, was to die for. The service was exceptional, and again be forewarned they charge a service gratuity for their employees mental health. This is assumed to be seperate from the normal gratuity. Yet, it is all worth it. The Denver steak, which they are known for, was soooooo tender and delicious!! Like eating warmed butter! The sides were fantastic, we had the asparagus and broccolini. Our starter was a salad and my wife said it was the best she's ever had. That is high praise for sure. We will go again despite the high cost as everything was well worth it. From the ambiance to the service to the food. For that special occasion, don't even hesitate to go.

We celebrated my husband's 52nd birthday. We were blown away by how fantastic our meal was. The steak was perfection, we regret that we chose to share one, instead of getting our own. Our server was fantastic, she knew the menu well and made some great recommendations. The only negative thing to say is the gentleman walking around with the tablet checking seats stopped at our table to ask if we enjoyed our meal, and he smelled like he crawled out of an ashtray. The cigarette smoke was overpowering. We loved the food and the service, and are already planning our next visit!

We LOVE this place!! We try to go at least once every month or two for a date night. Awesome cocktails and you can’t beat their burger and fries. Steaks are amazing too. Go during Social Hour and sit in the lounge for specials on cocktails and food.

This is one of, if not the best, restaurants I have been to in the Twin Cities. My partner and I split the 10oz Denver steak, a piece of Wagyu that was the most delicious cut of beef we have ever had. The service from the waitstaff was excellent as well. Our waiter, Drew, was spot on across the board with his recommendations. The ambience as well was wonderful. There's all this beautiful dark wood and leather next as you dine in this former hotel. We will be coming back when a special occasion arises.

I completely enjoyed my dinner my son and daughter in law invited me to. The entire experience is 5 Star. The 5oz Denver steak & lobster tail were delicious Steak tartare appetizer and shrimp grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. I highly recommend it.

First time going here for my birthday. Came with my parents and husband. The ambience and decor is nice, definitely a great place to dress up and look fancy. The cocktails and even the non-alcoholic beverages were good! We got the most expensive steak there 32 oz Dry Age Bone In Rib Eye that is $110. Absolutely share with someone! Smoked pork chop was also amazing. We brought these home, and ate it the next day, and the quality stayed the same. No sides come with any of the meats. All sides are separate and are about $14 each. Mushrooms were amazing though. The reason for the 3 stars is that I was expecting more, especially when my food bill came out to be almost $700 with tip. I did mention it was my birthday so I got a nice card, but that's really it. I guess I really shouldn't expect anything else in an upscale restaurant like this. The service was meh. Our server was nice and talkative. A bit weird when he started talking about something sad (mom passed away) to us, which kind of dampened the birthday mood. I'm not going to hold that against him, as he's just being friendly. The service was a bit slow, but I'll just blame that on staff shortage everywhere. Overall, would come back for the steak and probably bring it home instead of eating there. Don't expect anything special for special occasions.

I don’t review places that often but our experience here was to memorable not to write about. We absolutely fell in love with this place the second we walked in. Such an amazing environment filled with class and elegance rarely found in todays world. The service and staff were flawless in every aspect. Some of the most amazing steaks and appetizers we have ever had. I couldn’t recommend a restaurant more than I do this one. Such an amazing place. Please try it if you have never been.

Get the Denver Steak-that is coming from a butchers son! We also recommend the hashbrowns-thin shreds, crispy and salty. We went for our anniversary and felt like they went above and beyond-even included a card and complimentary glass of bubbly to start the evening. 🥂

We've dined here twice now and it has been lovely each time. We've gotten the oysters, steak tartare starter, the meatballs, garlic pullapart bread, Denver wagyu steak, dry-aged bone-in ribeye, aligot potatoes, asparagus, and dessert and each and every bite was delicious. I recommend not skipping the ribeye as it is the best steak I've ever had. It's a large cut so it's ideal for splitting between two people - or if you're ordering multiple starters/dishes there could be enough to go around for more. They have a delicious egg-white cocktail on the menu but my personal favorite is the Dunbar's Numbers. The first time we dined in the lounge - it was a brighter, livelier area, and the second time we dined in the dining room which was more of an intimate dining experience. If you're looking for a good steakhouse in Minneapolis I highly recommend P.S. Steak.

High class atmosphere. Everything was amazing. From the oysters, to the Aligot potatoes, to the Old Fashioned, to the Denver steak. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable about all items on the menu. Our group got several different steaks and I don’t know if I will ever get better steak. Each one was so unique and prepared perfectly. MELT IN YOUR MOUTH.

This is a fantastically luxurious and decadent steakhouse, and a worth successor to La Belle Vie. I live a few blocks away and had been wanting to come here for a while, with a friend leaving town it seemed like the perfect occasion to finally try this place out. Obviously, this is a special occasion kind of place, the prices are steep but the quality and ambiance are top notch. I absolutely loved the interior; it has a very intimate feel to it (we dined in the restaurant, the lounge looked lovely and I’m looking forward to stopping by sometime for a drink). The service here was really great—our server took the time to explain many of the menu items and was helpful in answering questions. My group all got steaks and a number of sides dishes. Full disclosure: I’m not a huge steak eater but decided to go all out tonight and am glad that I did. I ordered the humble flat iron and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The sides were all good, the mushrooms were the best in my opinion (steak tartare app was also awesome), and the potatoes aligot were as rich as one would expect. For a drink I tried the PS Old Fashioned, which had a nice spice to it. I will say the food was extremely salty, but that’s more or less my taste, if however you’re not a huge salt fan you may want to be cautious. All in all this was a great experience, super pricey, yes, but commensurate with the quality. The manager even stopped by our table to check on how things were going, which was a nice touch. I’ll definitely keep this place in mind for future special occasions and I’d highly recommend paying a visit!

WOW! Absolutely fantastic!! Visited for my dad's birthday. The crab and avocado on toast is incredible. My father ordered a perfectly cooked medium well steak. The lobster tail is fabulous. Great classic fries and other potato options as well as a variety of sides. Huge wine/drink menu. Wish I'd had room for more than one dessert :) but the apple crisp was perfect.

We had a party of 9 and the side room! WOW just WOW! The room was private and nice... The service from Mark was amazing the food was amazing as well! Everything was cooked to perfection! Drinks were made so great! I highly recommend! We are going to try the Sunday brunch soon for sure!

The twin cities has some phenomenal steak restaurants. Even though I think I’ve been to all of them, this place still made me feel a high level of excitement hearing about the different cuts and preparations. They delivered too in every way. Every course was incredible and they absolutely nailed the main attention which, for me, was the Denver cut. I’m so excited to go back here.

; Parking: Finding street parking was a pain, but to be expected in the Uptown/Loring area. They offer complimentary valet parking. Service: Excellent customer service. Nothing, but friendly faces and smiles upon arrival. We checked in with the hostess and grabbed our coats. We were seated in the front bar/lounge to wait for our table reservation to be set up. Then we proceeded to follow our host to the back dining room. Our server did a fantastic job explaining the menu, answering all of our questions, making suggestions and checking in on us. At the end, we had a nice gentleman grab our coat and asked if we'd like to take a picture in front of the entrance chandelier. Overall, customer service is phenomenal! Food/drinks: I had the half chicken with a lobster tail. The boyfriend had the tenderloin steak and we both shared aligot. They say the sides are shareable, but I felt like I could've probably had my own serving of aligot. Overall, the food is good, but not something I'd return for. The Old Fashion was alright; not our favorite, but not the worst we've had. I'd definitely come back for the experience. Ambience: Extremely elegant restaurant. Low light giving that intimate setting. Beautiful decors and furniture.

I came here with my gf to celebrate our first night out in what seems like forever! We had a great time. We shared several things(as we do): Chilled poached shrimp(delicious), PS chopped salad(one of the best salads we've had), steak tartare(good flavor, but not seasoned well), french fries(because I'm obsessed with them). Entrees included the New York Strip(great texture, but also under seasoned-we asked for Maldon and it helped greatly), and the skuna bay salmon(the only thing that stood out was the red wine butter sauce, otherwise pretty bland). Drinks were ok. Service was attentive. We may come back!

Amazing service with attention to detail and the best steak in MN. Our table got a few steaks the pasta (hidden gem) and lamb sliders. Last time I was here I got the waygu denver steak and it was pretty tough to chew. I had heard good things but I was a bit disappointed. Also ordered the tar tar and its just...bland. No beefy flavor, hardly any seasoning, big offensive pieces of lavash to eat it with. Just really sad. If you're into tar tar, go to Nightengale. All that said, everything else was really good, the service was great, the employees were very friendly and welcoming. The Dunbars cocktail absolutely slaps.

Great service, food and drinks! The ambience was spot on romantic and classical. Our waiter was knowledgable and had good experience with the menu. Plan on a good 2 hrs to make it worth while if socializing with friends. Highly recommend the PS Chang Old Fashioned (no skimping on alcohol here!)

very welcoming service from the bartender, got seated at lounge area, feel no different than inside, juicy steak, feel biting into sands while screwing it, the sauce mixed with cauliflowers are very salty. Use cloth towels in the bathroom feel very different, eco-friendly and also very four seasons in HongKong look - a - like :-)

If you want great steak and an exceptional experience in the Twin Cities then you must stop here. Drinks, food and atmosphere were unbelievable! Naseem, our server, took care of every wish throughout the night. She brought out an exquisite French cab to pair with our immaculately cooked beef tenderloins. Make sure not to skip on dessert! The brownie and sundae were just what we needed after on over indulgent meal. Thanks for the memory!

It was my sisters birthday and she wanted to go here. I had my tiny human with me who is a very good diner. The staff were phenomenal. They made us feel so welcomed. The waitress brought gold fish for her and on top of everything the food was delicious. We had the burger, oysters, steak, and brussel sprouts. My tiny human ate half the burger and loved the curry ketchup. Great atmosphere and service. I will be back for the Large punch bowl with my husband. Also great idea on complementary valet parking!!!

Best steakhouse in the Twin Cities. We celebrated my wife's birthday at PS Steak. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent. Drinks arrived fast. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. The birthday girl ordered the pork chop and said it was the best she ever had, which is high praise since I smoke a mean chop.

What an amazing experience. First time at PS Steak, and it will not be our last. Yes, the food was incredible. It's to be expected from anywhere in the Jester universe. But, more importantly for me was the service. I don't know how they do it, but every Jester property we've visited has made us feel like we were the only people in the room. Attentive, sincere service with genuine concern for what we wanted from the experience. The service we got from Stacy was worth at least as much as the price of the meal. I can't recommend the Jester family highly enough. Whether you're there to grab a beer or to celebrate your anniversary, these folks deliver every single time.

TOP NOTCH FOOD AND SERVICE. Perfect choice for a special night out. For 2 people we did the shellfish plateau which was amazing and perfect to share. Then we split the dry-aged rib eye as recommended and it was easily one of the greatest steaks of my life. French fries and carrots on the side were perfect. Breadpudding desert was incredible too. We had a variety of cocktails and loved each one. The server Jeff was all around fantastic and really did a great job providing an amazing first time experience here.

Brunch at P.S. Steak today was wonderful! The ambiance, service and quality of food is on point. Some people were dressed up a bit while others were completely casual (like myself). It all felt very welcoming. For cocktails: I particularly enjoyed the Celery Collins, light and refreshing. We tried a couple shareable options and my favorite was the Crab Cake Benedict and the featured salad of the day. Complimentary valet is a nice touch since parking in that area can be challenging sometimes. I will definitely be grabbing a couple friends and heading back soon.

Ate in the lounge on a Friday. Was able to get a table quickly. Drinks and food were both very good. Good variety on the drink menu. Lamb sliders were perfect and highly recommend. Same with the burrata. Did not have a bad dish. Can order from both the lounge and the steakhouse menu in the lounge but we will definitely be coming back for the regular restaurant soon.

I wasn’t sure we needed another steak place in the TC, but after dining at P.S. Steak I’m now convinced the future is steak. Everything here was top notch. The free valet, the host, the waiter (Jeff), the food (the mofo crab and avocado toast is unworldly), the old LBV space, and even chef De Camp himself bringing out dessert was so utterly pleasing. Go here on a fancy date!

Wow. One of my new favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. We don't normally order steak at restaurants because we're pretty good at cooking our own at home, was there for the smoked pork chop...but they were out. So I ordered the Denver steak. It was absolutely amazing! The service, the drink, the ambience; everything was fabulous. Thank you P.S. Steak for a lovely evening.

The prices here are definitely high for what you get, but it is very good. There is a happy hour from 5-6pm to get some select items for a little cheaper. The cocktails were also good although on the smaller side. There’s also complimentary valet service which is a nice perk.

Exceptional food and service. We split the salad. We got the mushrooms, hashbrowns and Ribeye Steak that was cooked perfectly. Had baked Alaska for dessert..delicious! Elliot our server was a wealth of information about the food and history of the building. Only downside was they didn't have white zinfandel wine or a beer my husband liked. Recieved lilies when we left.. Will be back. Awesome dinner, server and atmosphere.

Probably my favorite steakhouse in the twin cities. The ambiance, food, and service are all top notch plus their drinks are on point. If you skip the baked Alaska you are making a huge mistake - it’s incredible, like exactly what you would hope for and also huge. Enjoy.

Food was exactly as ordered (medium rare was perfect) and quality of meat was high. Took a star off because bathrooms were ridiculous to find and really far from dining area. Free valet parking (other than tip). They offered really interesting cocktails and I would recommend the hieroglyph- the hubby thought it tastes too sweet but it was a great summer cocktail. VERY pricey for us, its was a very large bill but steaks were shareable.

The atmosphere/ambiance is great for a romantic date or an upscale cocktail lounge. Ordered the steamed mussels which were fantastic. In a town with several excellent steak houses, if this one isn't the best one, it's in the top three. We dined in the Steakhouse (three choices to dine at present). It's a really unique setup and the surroundings add to the experience. Unlike some other steakhouses (the now closed Burch), the room is relatively quiet. The wait staff are attentive but not annoying, and knowledgeable but not snobby. The steaks are outstanding. First time around - go with the Denver cut. Side portions are generous. Drinks are strong and unique, but not overly cute (an old-fashioned is an old-fashioned, but one you probably can't make at home). Wine list is varied but solid...again...not snobby. It's a good place for a special occasion date, a business meal or a small family celebration. Bring money.....being (potentially) the best steak house in the Twin Cities comes at a price. Drinks/steak/sides/dessert will run you in excess of $100/person. Outstanding experience overall. Strongly recommended.

Excellent. Got the oysters, shrimp cocktail, and crab toast to start. All very delicious and fresh. For main course we got the Denver Steak medium rare and the market, which was some Brazilian cut, if I remember correctly. Also medium rare. The cuts of meat were both delicious. Easily one of, if not the, best steak I've ever had. Do the steakhouse experience if you can. Really nice decor. The servers here are also great. Very friendly and helpful. This place is a must go if you're looking for steak!

Overall a good experience. Free valet parking (tipped him $5), good food and drinks. Steak was cooked perfectly but was heavily salted - to the point I could feel the salt crunch. Salmon was undercooked (and we asked for it to be cooked firm when ordering). Normally wouldn't care much but for a $200+ meal, expectations should be raised a bit so subtracting a star. Otherwise, waitress was excellent, host was excellent, and all the other food was delicious. Would recommend for a very special occasion.

Third times the charm, been back three times and it gets any better every time! Been there for birthdays and mothers day and just out of the blue( my first time). I don’t remember who was our server but they were very attentive with us asking about drinks or if we just needed more time. One of my favorite things is hands down the bread I end up getting 2-4 extra breads because its do good! Plus they have hidden ducks?!? Me and my mom on Mother’s Day where just spotting different ducks around the area and we enjoyed our time there. Will be back

First time visiting, will not be the last. Started with the Ceasar salad and scallops. Both were good, but nothing special. Next we ordered the Denver steak, burger with fries and the bone-in rib-eye. The burger at this restaurant is by far the best I have ever had. It was tough to even try anything other than the burger, but the rib-eye was amazing as well. I will definitely be back for some drinks and to eat 2-3 burgers.

Went with a group of friends and most everyone enjoyed what we had. Honestly though, I think the fries were the star. However, the meatballs and mussels were delicious and the Denver cut steak was wonderful. The aligot could've used more cheese and/or salt and the steak tartar was missing something, was described as bland. Would go back in the end. And word to the wise, if you want an old fashioned, be specific which one or you might unknowingly pay $38 for their 'special' one!!!

Went here for our anniversary and had a good experience. We went all in on the ribeye and it was definitely the star of the show, and our favorite sides were the hash browns and the garlic bread. We had the broccolini as well, and it was good too, but I'm more of a steak and potatoes kind of guy. One thing that we were not very impressed with were the scallops. Ours didn't come out with a nice golden crust, or really any crust, like some of the photos you see in other people's reviews. Three out of four were instead kind of grey and sad looking. I'm not an expert on scallops though so maybe they were supposed to be that way. For $44 I would skip them and stick to steak.

Wow, Wow, Wow!! The food and service here are impeccable. Definitely one of the best restaurants I've dinned at in quite some time. I had the Denver cut with horseradish. It was so tender it could be cut with a butter knife. I savored every single bite. My friend and I shared the brussel sprouts and hash browns. Visited PS Steak for the first time for my Mom's 70th birthday. From the moment we walked through the doors the staff made us feel very welcome and special. Beautiful ambience and quality food. The scallops were excellent. They have a happy hour menu with apps & drinks. This could be a special event restaurant as well as a nice place to have an affordable happy hour meal.

I love the ambiance, but the service was lacking. We did not get seated until 15 minutes after our reservation. From there the service got worse, as our waiter did not tend to us until 10 minutes after we were seated, our drinks came out late and the waiter forgot to give us our tab. For a Sunday night, I would have expected service to be a lot better. The food and drinks were amazing, but with the poor service we received I would not recommend this restaurant to others. UPDATE: My significant other and I attended a do-over on Valentines Day. They did a phenomenal job with their service this time around. Jess, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our experience by understand our past situation and proving to us what the P.S. Steak experience should really be. We will be back soon for another great time!

We came because we wanted to use our BOGO menu cocktails through the passport program and as well continue to come back and bring everyone we know because everything we had here was perfection. The hostess was so friendly and attentive, bartender was extremely helpful even being extremely busy, our waitress Danica I believe was incredibly friendly and so fun. We got the yellow pages and bittersweet nothings cocktails and both were unique and delicious. The cheese plate and fries were great and perfect size for two. It's good. It's really good. I have no complaints other than my personal preference on how the steak is aged and the subsequent product. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who wants the best steak they can get for $100/head. The wine list is good. The service is great. The place itself is gorgeous, has plenty of character but not too much to be overbearing. The steak, while a quality cut, could use something. I don't know what it is. I guess it's this: If you blindly, without asking the guest, offer steak sauce with a $50+ cut of meat (or even $30+), you need to rethink your meat offering. If you're aging it, it shouldn't need any kind of additional dressing for the vast majority of guests. I'll be here again, but it won't be because I'm craving a cut of beef. I'll probably get a steak anyway, but only because I just genuinely enjoy steak. The steak sauce is good too.

We had such an incredible meal here! Every bite was just perfect. Our waiter was lovely, and had great recommendations (although I doubt there are any less-than-stellar dishes on this menu). One thing I really love is when a chef takes a familiar dish (in this case crab avocado toast) and adds an ingredient I would never have thought of that takes the dish to an entirely new level. I had the NY strip, they not lying when they say top 3 steakhouses in this city I'd give it top 2 and worth what it cost. I'm writing this review in the memory of the hash browns I had from there I'm not too interested in the asparagus how they served it to begin with but as far as total experience, hunger satisfaction and customer service I'd put it number 1 for me personally in comparison to what you can find downtown. The meat quality is at least what you would find at Erte and the Peacock Lounge. The chef does better by a large margin than Seven or fogo de Chao or anywhere with a name downtown. And the customer service is personal so I can't compare it to other steakhouses personal customer service is as good as it gets.

Our first time dining here we sat at the bar and Ryan took great care of us. We started with the crab and avocado toast which I preferred and my husband preferred the steak tartar. Want a cozy and intimate meal? Try the steak house. Multiple steak cuts and meats to choose from, with plenty of side dishes for everyone. The dry aging is fantastic. If you want to have a cocktail, wine, beer, and a bite, try the lounge. You don't need reservations at either bar top, head on in and belly up with friends. Great atmosphere in both rooms.

Spent the evening celebrating a special birthday. We were impressed with the service from the time we arrived at the bar until we finished dinner in the dining room. There was a nice card with a birthday greeting when we arrived at our table. The drinks were creative and the food was so delicious. The aligot potato’s had chunks of cheese in it that you couldn’t chew through. The broccoli was not good. Baldamar in Roseville is a better steak experience with way better food for the money. Madison!!!! Where to begin. A food/booze lover waiting on a bunch of foodies out for a big happy birthday celebration. Six of us spent a hilarious dinner on June 21 with the sensational guide, Mr Madison. He has more foody and boozy facts in that noggin than most of us have on our hard drives. Cocktails were explained in beautiful detail and did not disappoint. Our table was filled with amazing food, including a bone full 🌝 f buttery marrow. We got there fairly late in the evening. Downtown is a ghostown now even on the weekends which is depressing. Not many people here around 9:30 which was a shame. We ordered the Grand Shellfish Platter. Killed that. Then got the Ribeye with 2 Fois Gras and Hash browns, crushed that. Had some drinks. Everything was great. The two of us enjoyed ourselves. We also got a salad. 5/5 Would get drunk and stumble out again.

Went with a friend this Friday and sat at the Lounge bar. Great people watching and ambiance- this place would be great for any occasion, but for girls night we enjoyed Crab and Avocado toast- they don’t skimp on the crab and the toast was warmed, so good. Denver Steak, Creamed Kale and Aligote potatoes were AMAZING, steak was temped perfectly. Enjoyed watching the bartenders make so many different drinks, they clearly know their cocktails. And complimentary valet is so so convenient. Can’t wait to come back and dine in the Steakhouse Dining Room too- it feels like a dark, sexy speakeasy back there!

Saturday night my wife and I had 730 dinner reservations for her birthday. Arrived about 45 minutes early to have a few drinks before dinner. Sat at the bar and enjoyed some wonderful crafted cocktails and nice conversation with the bartender. I wish I could recall his name as he was amazing!! Had dinner in the restaurant area and loved the space. Great décor. We ordered the Crab and Avocado Toast as an appetizer and it was incredibly fresh with tons of flavor. For the main course my wife ordered the Beef tenderloin which was perfectly done. I had the Denver steak medium and it was hands down the best steak I have had. The marbling melted into the meat and every bite was a slice of heaven. For sides we had the sautéed mushrooms with Thyme and Aligot Potatoes which were both excellent. To our surprise the bartender remembered my wife birthday and wanted to buy us desert. Baked Alaska which was amazing!! Not to mention he walked back to our table to wish her a happy birthday and thanked us for coming in. Wow! Overall his service along with the entire staff was above outstanding. We are foodies in the Minneapolis dining scene and we were so blown away by the food and service. We are not easy to please and to be so taken back by all the details and special touches was stellar. We will certainly be back for dinner as well as we highly recommend if you want an amazing atmosphere for some nice crafted drinks and food at the bar. I highly recommend as well. But be sure to make reservations for the dining experience. Amazing and we thank you for making her birthday dinner a memorable one!!

This place is a true gem! My husband and I shared the Crab&Avocado toast, the Chopped Salad and the Bone in Tenderloin. Every single bite was fantastic! While the meat entree prices may seem high, the cuts are enormous and more than enough for two, which makes the pricing very comparable to other on par restaurants. My wife and friends and I had a very nice dinner here celebrating my birthday in late August. We've been to this address many times before, but this was the first visit to PS Steak. The bar is pretty much like it's been but the dining room has been given a complete makeover. To me it seemed like a English manor house, with dark woods, fabrics and interesting artwork. So this place is all about steak, and mine was great. My wife and I split a huge ribeye which had a nice char on the outside but was perfectly cooked and juicy inside. We had some great red wine to go along with it as well. Valet parking is free which is a big plus. Will definitely be back.

The cocktails are absolutely magnificent and beautifully crafted and I highly recommend the P.S. steak burger and fries (ask for the truffled Brie sauce — it’s only featured with the chips but it’s amazing with the fries). It’s an added bonus that the historic building where this establishment resides is remarkable, perfect balance of cool and cozy ambiance, with impeccable service.

Arrived early since traffic wasn't as bad as we had planned. Very good drinks and cheese plate in the lounge. Then we head into the dining room with yet another bar. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised by the decor as it was not what we had expected. Dark, cozy and sophisticated. Very nice. We had the Denver steak and the Bourbon Ribeye. Ribeye was fantastic but the Denver was by far the best steak my wife or I have ever had. Wow! And we've been to Texas and Brazil which pride themselves on their beef and this was way better. Amazing! If you're in the mood for a steak don't pass on the Denver...you won't be disappointed!

Was only our first time and that being said I would absolutely return . I loved the ambience and the very relaxing atmosphere. Nobody tried to rush us which was refreshing. We didn’t know about the bar in the restaurant part ... is so much nicer than the more open bar which is fine if you have a group. Mixed feelings. I love the vibe and ambience as well as a lot of the starters, however I think there are definitely better steakhouses that Minneapolis has to offer. Didn’t get seated until 25 minutes after my reservation, and in a different area at that. I will say they tried to make up for it by offering a complimentary baked Alaska for dessert, but it was kind of disappointing when it took 15 minutes to come out.

We went here to celebrate our anniversary and were looking for something to blow us away. Based on the reviews I read, I told my husband this would be IT!! I was hoping it wouldn’t fall short of our high expectations and it did not!! We shared the Denver steak after our amazing server talked us out of my husband’s typical fave, the ribeye and it was totally TO DIE FOR!! We have been all over Mpls and Vegas trying to find the best steak and we were a bit surprised that we both agreed we found it here. The sides and sauces were also excellent as well as the wine and delicious craft cocktails. There was absolutely zero fault we could find in anything (and our friends and family know that is rare for us!). They accommodated my food restrictions easily and could tell me every ingredient so I wasn’t worried. We are already looking for an excuse to return. Do not hesitate!!

Amazing food, professional and courteous service, doesn't get much better than this. I had a 16 oz eye of ribeye which was about 3 inches thick and was cooked to perfection. There are many places in the Twin Cities which are "go to" steakhouses for the die-hard enthusiast. In my opinion, this place beats them ALL. I had the Denver steak. Not only was it cooked to perfection, but the seasoning was exquisite. The appetizers were all superb in their own merit. I could make an entire meal of just the appetizers which are perfectly proportioned. And when you add the absolutely gorgeous dining room and lounge, this makes for a perfect place for a special dinner. Definitely recommended, and I WILL be eating here again (and again... and again....)

Our recent visit was like "Return to Oz" we were greeted with staff wearing pajama bottoms and a matching mask. The servers were. Not of similar dress code and one server was even wearing baseball style cap. Not the attire one expects when spending upwards of 300 Dollars for a two people. The salad Sadly was the star of the show. Fois Gras last time was almost melty and buttery...this time gelatinous and cool in the middle and did not make for a great steak experience. The big ol steak knives were in need of a good sharpening and more ripped the meat that cut it. Aligot potatoes were bland and not up to previous experiences. The bar tenders were dressed to serve and and gave it all they got! The one bright spot besides the Salad. Do hope they regain their MOJO!

I have to be honest. When I think of a steak house I think of a classic New York 50's style. While the decor of this place tried to go for the feel. The food missed the mark. I don't want want to say that the food was bad. Because it was not. However, on every occasion it felt like the meal missed the mark. The Cesar salad added celery and onions to the dish and changed the whole flavor and feel of the dish. A classic Cesar is a staple of a good steak house. This one just tried to hard. The steak was amazing, flavor full, tender, and perfectly cooked. However, the seasoning added a flavor that took away from the meat. Typically the char is the best part of the steak. In this case it wasn't. The unseasoned meat was better. So good like butter. But again in this instance. It was trying to hard and missed the mark. The sides suffered from the same problem. Rather than have simple classic steak fries or Joe Joe's they had potato wedges tossed in a sauce that tried to be a spicy ketchup but failed to be anything other than a hindrance to holding the fry with my hand. The classic creamed spinach was replaced with Kale and just felt more like eating a cream sauce with some bitter greens rather than the wonderful classic. The carrots were wonderful, but a classic side of broccoli or asparagus would have been better with the steak. The food is good don't get me wrong. It's just it feels like the place is so scared to just be a steak house that it's trying hard to be different and it's taking away from what it is at the core, a steak house. I would say try it. See if the different for the sake of it appeals to you. However, with a multitude of steak houses to choose from, it just seems for the price and expectation......I'd rather go to Mannie's. This place gets 3 starts and not 4 because of price and having great food that just misses the classic steak house feel.

This is the place. From start to finish, we had the best service and hospitality. We sat in the dinning room bar and off the bat there was a card congratulating us on our wedding anniversary. Drinks were ordered (Old Fashioned and their Bywater cocktail) and appetizers. The steak tartare and oysters with mignonette was the perfect amount for two. We split the dry aged bone-in ribeye with mushrooms and brussels sprouts as sides. Finished off the night with another cocktail and a baked Alaska. Overall, would not change the order. Everything was great. This place checks every box: ambiance, service, and quality food.

Hard to get a reservation, but so worth it. From the complimentary valet, to the front of house staff, to the bar room staff, all was magnificent. The 5-course tasting menu with perfectly curated cocktail pairings was to die for. Whether it was the pork w/watermelon jam amuse to the uni salad to the duck lagrange to the steak. Everything fit together and wanted is coming back for more. Cara our primary barkeep and consultant was both engaging and kind. She knew why the cocktail worked with the course. And no question was considered dumb. My wife and I celebrated our 6th anniversary there last night, and we are already making plans to go back. Make a reservation ASAP.

A good, basic option, though not in the local gourmet’s top 10. Oysters were snappy & fresh. Shrimp basically prepared and presented. Sides limited and relatively banal. Wine list left wanting. The ribeye, though prime, had a good sear but has been consistently under temperature each time I’ve been in. Knives consistent with a hatchet— perfectly suited to Fred Flintstone (like the ribeye)— like the instagramly ingenuine decor, distractingly tacky for the more discerning gourmand. Sauce au poivre was an abomination, so strongly peppered one was left with a clear head but wondering where else makes it well.

For over 35 years, dining in the space at 510 Groveland has often been a wonderful culinary event. Fortunately, P.S. Steak seems very likely to continue the best of those traditions. Recently my wife and I ate at P.S. Steak for the first time. Our server, who we met 2+ years ago at the now closed Haute Dish, not only remember us but recalled our favorite before dinner cocktails from days gone by. Although numerous changes have been made in the physical space, P.S. Steak has preserved some of the more significant elements from the previous occupants while establishing their own dignified dining space. Appetizers, salads and the porterhouse steak for 2 were all outstanding. As soon as we arrived home from our dinner, we made reservations to return.

I am all about the meats, so I visited P.S. Steak yesterday for my birthday because I heard someone comparing it to New York’s Peter Luger Steakhouse. From the minute you step in into P.S Steak the service is stupendous. The complimentary parking makes it an easy spot to dine in. I ordered the Dry Aged Bone-In Ribeye 32oz medium rare and they got it just right, a little chard in the outside and bloody in the inside just the way I like it. I did notice my ribeye was a little extra fatty, so I found myself cutting large portions off. The steak was satisfying but a little too pricey for the lack of a quality meat. I wasn’t impressed with P.S. Steak aging processes. My steak didn’t quite taste aged flavor, the lack of aging tends to make any steak less tender and less flavorful. Typically I enjoy a nice loaded baked potato with my steaks but P.S. Steak failed to offer it in its menu, so I took chance with the hashbrowns and sorry to say I’ve had better at less quality restaurants. All in all P.S. Steak had an ok steak, the character of the place was excellent, the people were at your service, and the location was an experience. I would eat at P.S. Steak again but I would not order the aged pricey meats. Stick with a plain New York Strip plus a salad and I am sure you will be pleased. Furthermore, P.S. Steak steaks is ages away from ever becoming a Peter Luger Steakhouse or Wolfgang’s Steak.

My wife and I had a great pre theater meal at PS Steak. They made sure we had our food in time to make our show. The food was fantastic, great oysters served with house cocktail And mignonette sauces. We then shared one of the best NY Strip steaks I have ever eaten. A 20 0z super prime. The sides (we had asparagus served with beanies and capers and sautéed mushrooms) both were well portioned. We can’t wait to return to try more of the menus and spend more time enjoying the experience.

We received top notch attention from the staff and the food was incredible. Now I have two favorites. This isn't Golden Corral so be prepared. Dining out during the age of COVID-19 presents so many challenges. Dining at P.S. Steak felt like a rare respite from 2020. The focus was on service and ambiance. They maintained the highest standards of cleanliness and carefully followed all COVID guidelines but made it feel like that was just a small piece of your overall experience. Their staff remained thoughtful and knowledgeable, and the food was excellent from the first course until the last. It was the best evening we had experienced in a very long time!

Excellent addition to the local steakhouse scene. We split the chopped salad to start - it had an outstanding twist. Crumbled blue cheese, walnuts, roast beef bites, pears, and deviled eggs with a dill dressing. They do change the salad from day to day - however I would highly recommend that combination. One other thing: we split the salad between the two of us, and we could have comfortably split it four ways. Main course : my wife had an 8 oz tenderloin and I had the 10 oz Denver cut. Both were perfectly cooked to order. If you like trying different cuts I’d recommend the Denver. Filet like tenderness with a touch more marbling and more flavor. We also highly recommend the aligot potatoes and parsnips for sides. It was refreshing to not find Brussel sprouts or asparagus on a steakhouse menu. Cocktails and wine were next level - as you’d expect from anyone stepping into the former la belle vie space. We had early 5:15 reservations and by the time we left the energy was electric. We even had two separate celebrity sightings to cap it off. Great addition to the city.

Recently visited PS Steak with my husband while we had family visiting us in town. We opted to sit at the bar as we have both worked in the service industry for some time and tend to prefer the pace and interactive nature. Shane, our bartender, had such a genuine and hospitable nature that made it feel like we were dining with a friend. His recommendations were excellent. Our 32 ounce, dry-aged, bone-in ribeye was cooked to absolute PERFECTION (my mouth is watering thinking about it now). Shane told us that all of the mirrors/frames/art around the bar area had been collected from vintage shops by the owners, and that lounge area has such a warm and well-curated feel that makes me look forward to dining solo with a glass of wine and a book in the winter. The experience was 5 stars from start to finish: Shane made a perfect negroni, the crab/avocado toast was an excellent starting dish, the rioja we paired with our steak and vegetables was fabulous, and the brownie/ice cream was spot-on. Can't wait to be back!
