We were in the area and happen to drive past on accident. Friendly staff! Affordable. Clean. Great selection of food! There's lots of chicken and seafood dishes to choose from plus noodles, soup, fruits, and desserts. Everything we tried was delicious!

The environment is dated but don’t be fooled by that. The dinner food was delicious- crabs, salt and pepper shrimp, squids, orange chicken, and rice noodle. For $18 bucks, I am sold. It tasted better than Sumo.

Detailed Description: Ambience: 4⭐ Value of money: 4⭐ Choices: 4⭐ Taste: 4 ⭐ It was the afternoon when I went there. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy to me. It was not perfect but still a great place to dine. In terms of value of money, it was a lunch buffet when I went and it cost only $10.99. it was really worth the money as the value exchange was favored to the customers. With this price you get free flow of Vietnamese pho 🍜, uncountable Japanese sushi 🍣, and unlimited Chinese dumplings 🥟, it is absolutely worthwhile. For choices, as Ocean Buffett provided a 3 different cuisines in a Asian restaurant, I am quite satisfied with what I was paying. Can't complain about it. But in terms of dish choices , they might not be comparable as the other Chinese restaurant, but you could indulge in 3 different cuisines with a single paying. For tastes, I personally find that the pho tasted competent to the other specialized Vietnamese restaurant. You even could custom your content in the pho. All in all, with the price 💵 I am paying, I am satisfied with it. I will recommend it as it was affordable and the taste is good too.

Decent, if you're on a 'budget' the price is fair with more food selection compared to other asian buffets with pricier tags and less options. Recommendations? if money isn't an issue then I'd *always* recommend "Hibachi Buffet" they've got it right.

This buffet is sort of hidden and may look a bit rough on the outside. However, the saying is true..."Don't judge a book by its cover." This buffet offers many choices, from dim-sum, sushi, pho and more. The staff here are very hospitable. They are very attentive to the guest. The moment you finish your plate, they are on it to get rid of it for you.

My favorite buffet around. They have octopus, crawfish, sushi (Our family's favorites) and much more. Foods good. Bus stop is right outside of their establishment making it easy to access as well. (Even though a major transit center is right by and walkable.) Between location, accessibility, friendliness of staff and the actual food in the buffet, this is a good place for us to return to.

We had a party of 6 (3 adults 3 kids) and total came to $100. Food was alright and the place wasn't busy. Not sure how many they had in the kitchen but food wasn't refilled fast enough although it wasn't busy. Drink refills were quick. Pho is a 4/5. No meatballs but have chicken breast slices for pho. Instead of lime they have lemon. I wasn't feeling it with the sushi selection. Could be better. The plus side is the ice cream are free unless you take out and leave with the ice cream then it's 50 cent. Not much places offer free ice cream.

The sushi was great and that was it. They make you prepay for when you walk out in disgust at the rest of the overcooked in the warmer. The food that wasn't sitting out for 4+ hours was mediocre at best. This may be a result of inflation and supply chain problems because 5 years ago, this place was epic :(

This has always been my favorite chinese buffet in the twin cities. Great assortment, always fresh and delicious. However.. we went this past weekend.. during dinner time.. and the food wasnt getting filled very quickly (2 of the main dishes were out for over a half hour) and much of it wasnt fresh. I hope we caught them on an off day, because I love this place!

Some of the food trays were empty, and some had little to nothing in them...had to call the attention of one of the front end folks after waiting for over 5 minutes and there was no fried rice. It also looked like they had downsized. It was better when I visited before today.

One of the "still actively serving" buffet in the Metro Area. Love thier late night OPEN Hours. & the servers/staffs are all well mannered & professional. Great selections of hot & freshly served options to choose from (Unlimited great quality (broth & noodles build-2-ur-likings PHO). Great place, despite the bad reviews I went to see for myself. The food was great, actually a bit better than some other Asian Buffets i frequent, the drink refills were slow though. The sushi was much more fresh than I expected. The food that was supposed to hot was hot and the food that was supposed to be cold was cold. A little more selection of steamed buns that other places but not real Dim-Sum. I onoy gave it 4 star due to the slow drink refills, I had to ask for a refill. Drink is not included in the price, but if you have to complain about paying 1.50 for a drink on a 13$ buffet, you have bigger problems.

Sushi is good here if I compare with other buffet, really raw fish inside and a lot of ingredients, it is strange that is not so much people. it is the best clams here also. And it is a lunch time! Good price for take out.

My husband loves this buffet. I personally usually rate this place three stars because the food only tastes fresh earlier in the day... But I really appreciate their staff. My husband and I went in for dinner and after our first plate, our baby started crying so hard and nothing could soothe her. My husband went to pay for our meal so we could leave but the staff wouldn't let us pay because they could see our child was really struggling and and we only had a plate each. That was so kind of them and I'm so very thankful! Such kind staff.

Depending on what food you get, it's either alright or pretty good. I am more impressed with the fact that they were able to cater for a party I had last minute. It was Christmas Eve and 40+ unexpected guests were coming. I called them and asked for a medium tray of fried rice, lo mein, and fried chicken and they were able to prepare it in an hour for me to pick up. Granted it wasn't the most flavorful and it was a bit pricey but given the situation, it saved my party! I'll be back for sure!

Definitely good selection. Seafood wad plenty. They're not quick to kick you out. Could be a little more attentive to customers needing drinks, especially cause they automatically charge you for it already. Overall good food. Will repeat.

I ordered a party tray of lo mein and it looked like they used spaghetti noodles which I did not like it at all. Many guests didn't eat it and we had a big waste of food. Wish they would of use the lo mein noodle instead. Other than that they were nice and food was on time.

So much variety! Some of the food looked like it had been sitting a bit long but they seemed pretty on top of filling when food was near empty. I also liked the interesting variety of steamed buns and desserts. Plus sushi and hibachi, well worth the price. Only $12 for dinner, so you get what you pay for honestly. For being advertised as seafood it has way more. Would come again for sure. They were really good at taking plates and doing refills.

Not a bad place, food was excellent when they first opened up, now it's so-so. Also, beware of the crabs. Smell it before you eat it. It tastes fine but smells strongly of ammonia. Also, don't be surprised of Diarrhea after eating here...

Food was great until I sliced my finger open on the stone crab. Would be nice if they served them halved so the the insides and main body would be removed. The less shell the better. Only reason I still will go here is because of the food and great service. Our waitress was so polite and sweet and brought a cracker for the crab when she saw us struggling. Lots of options for dessert, but the main thing you expect at a buffet is an ice cream machine. It's these little cups of lumpy ice cream that tastes meh.

Food was good when we first sat down. However, as the afternoon shift changed over to the evening shift the quality of food seemed to diminish. The service could have been better. However, they DID have steamed buns which is rare amoung the Asian buffets I have visited.

Friendly service. Needs new and improve pho area looks dirty. Need to order new bowls. The bowls r warn out. The food is okay. Go at lunch time when it's fresher and warmer. The place is okay. I like that their selling cute hair clips on the side.

We stop here for lunch a couple times a month. The Pho is always very good, and 1 bowl is huge. All the other items are very fresh when we have gone. We've never had any issues with customer service or bad food. Overall, I think this place is one of the better buffets in the area. Lunch for 2 people, $20 with a tip. Can't beat that!

As of OCT, 2019 they're still a good buffet but their noodle soup is tasting more and more plain nowadays. The last 3 times I visited within the last 2 months had been a lot more plain. They don't seem to take my finished plates away as fast anymore too.

Food was pretty good. Thai Chicken and The Lo Mein noodles weren’t that great. However, you do get a pretty good amount of food for a really good steal price. They have PHO, Sushi, Buns, and even seafood! Do expect a slow refill however since the waiters and waitresses take your cup and refill it at the machine.

Just didn't like the fact they had so many tables available yet the servant chose us 7 heads to be in the crowded area, they had to pull in another chair for my son and I was concerned because my son was sitting in the walking way aisle. We went on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. The service was good. The wait staff was ready to refill drinks and remove plates in a timely manner. The price was fair. The food was the downfall. Well, you get what you pay for, but you definitely get a whole lot here for what you pay, which is why I'm giving it a 5-star rating. Vietnamese pho is offered here, and it's actually very good. When you come for dinner, all sorts of seafood are included (whole crab, salt and pepper shrimp, sole fish, snail, clams, etc.)....all for the price of under $13 after taxes. Also includes an array of sushi, deserts, and some dim sum (although nothing truly special). Food has always been fresh when I come here. I'm not sure how they make money here, which is why you should tip well here, but the value you get here cannot be beat elsewhere.

I was very impress with the food. The food was so good that I have room for the fresh exotic fruits and desserts. My advice: avoid the crab legs. The crab legs are small, meatless, dry, salty, not pleasant to eat. Also, try the DIY Pho. It's pretty good.

Plenty of different Asian dishes to choose from. Has a lot of the usual/familiar Chinese food. Fried rice, to pho noodle soup sushi rolls, fruits, and seafood. The staff are friendly, waiters refilling drinks frequently enough, and as for the cost it's comparable to other establishments of this size.

A stand alone Buffet (not in a strip mall) that's worth a visit. The Phó soup is made to order & the buffet items are pretty delicious. Price is very reasonable. Only downside is the neighborhood. You'll have no worries if you hide valuables in your car & lock the doors.

It was close so I stopped in. I misread the sign about pricing so thought it was $6.99 for lunch. They seem to have a lot on the buffet tables. I got my normal favorites like fried rice, egg roll, a couple of chicken dishes including General Tso chicken, CHICKEN AND broccoli and sweet and sour. The egg rolls were amazing! But, these were Vietnamese so made differently. They didn't have regular egg rolls or crab Rangoon. Fried rice, low mein and chicken with broccoli had no flavor. Sweet and sour chicken (tempura chicken) was cold and tasted "off" to me. The General Tso chicken was THE WORST chicken ever. It tasted like it was made with dishwater, ginger and honey. So not really pleased with my choice for lunch.....then I get a bill for $11.99! Now mind you I came in at 11:35 And they open at 11:30. Nothing should be cold or look like it's been sitting for an hour or two, but All of my food was cold. I gave it 3 stars because service was at least decent.

I wish I would have tried this place a long time ago!! They have the expected Chinese cuisine but they also go above and beyond in variety. I was able to try authentic Chinese food I’ve never seen anywhere else, and was pleasantly surprised with the flavors. We came at lunch hour and I saw pizza (for the kids) spicy squid, sushi fry(deep fried fried sushi rolls), a seasoned mussel/clam dish(had to have seconds on this)an amazing fruit bar, a Vietnamese corner, a special corner for what I call the authentic Chinese. I was told supper time has even more variety, but with what i sampled during lunch it’s hard to believe. I’ve posted pictures check them out! Again, I will say I wish I would have come a long time ago, and will be returning to sample what I was unable to, Thanks Ocean Buffet for a wonderful lunch

The variety of food is excellent, I couldn't believe how many different things there are. There is a regular buffet along with a sushi bar and a pho place. The taste of the food is great. I almost fainted when I saw the lunch bill. $12 for two people for a nice buffet?? I pay more in McDonald's than here. It's unbelievable cheap for the quality and taste of the food! Way worth it!

I've been going here at least once a month for the last four months with my co-workers for lunch, usually between 12-2pm sometime. The lunch price and value is unbeatable at $6.75, extra for pop but I always roll with water. They serve made to order pho that is above average for a buffet. The sushi is basic and Target serves better quality. There is always dim sum dishes that are pretty good. The main buffet is delicious and is very fresh because we go during the lunch rush but you rarely have to wait. There are a lot of healthy choices and bad decision options to go beast mode. I definitely recommend this place for some really good and fulfilling Asian food.

Ate here on july 7 2019 at 4pm. Meet the nicest greeter who Hmong, It’s respectful and nice when people of the same uses their language to greet and communicate with you. Unlike some people who pretends to be some other race. The food here is about a three, but the greeter and Service brings it up to 5 star. Keep it up.

My favorite buffet in the Twin Cities! They have a wide variety of food, including seafood! I feel like some buffets are very shady with seafood, but Ocean Buffet offers variety AND quality seafood. :)

Don't expect much for their service. It's a buffet. As to where all buffets fall short, is their service. Great for variety of food and taste. I do recommend people to try them out because their food is definitely better than most buffets around the area. 1 star for cost, 1 star for food taste, and 1 star for variety of food.

Average Chinese buffet with tons of varieties and lowest price in the Twin Cites area. It is one of 2 Chinese Buffets in Minnesota that serves Vietnamese pho. If you want "all-you-can-eat pho", here is the place. In my opinion it also has the best sushi (compared to other buffets within 50 miles). I like white tuna nigiri the best, and to my surprise they have it here, not a typical thing you can easily find at other chinese buffets.

We personally love this place. Two types of fish..shellfish...as well as classic things like lomein. It's great. When we go the service is watching just waiting for you to finish your plate or drink...almost too quickly.

Medium sized buffet, pho station, sushi, most things were tasty, but everything was cold, as though the trays were not being heated from below. Pho station had lots of ingredients and the broth was petty good, their eggrolls weren't typical buffet eggrolls, nice amount of meat inside, no cabbage. There were eight different sushi options, tried 6 of 8, enjoyed all.

Seemed like most people don't have good experience at this place. However, if you have been to chinese buffet before, it's a busy place and mostly consist of Chinese workers who have broken English so the communication can be difficult. Bad Customer service is quite common in almost all chinese buffet regardless. It's a buffet so can't expect a five star treatment. I agree that some of their food are left out a bit long but not all. Their pho is pretty good. Believe Im a pho lover and their pho is actually better than some actual pho restuarants so can't beat that. I would totally go to this place again. As matter of fact I'm on my way there now.

It’s got typical Chinese buffet food. This place is always busy and can host large groups. Pricing is fair for adults but they charge kids as young as 3. They also charge for drinks as well. If you’re into dimsum, they have that too.

It's a decent buffet. The largest issue is food inconsistencies: the same dish can taste different even during the same night. It's a buffet, so it has all the common buffet problems such as sticky food serving handles.

First off, you have to realize this is a Chinese Buffet. They come with the usual, slow wait staff, broken english, good and bad food. Now, if you want to fill your stomach with Seafood (specially if you like Crab or Baby Lobsters) then this is a pretty decent place. You need to know what to eat and what not to eat at Buffet's. The Crab is pretty good (a lot of flavor in chinese style, not just boiled american style) and the Baby Lobster was good too. The Dim Sum (google it if you don't know) was ok: the breads were good but the shu-mai was dried out (it looked dried out so I didn't touch it), the Lotus Leaf wrapped Sticky Rice was pretty good too. The frog leg was nice and flavorful, yes it tastes like chicken. The pork rib was nice and soft and good as well. I did not touch any of the chinese "fast food" stuff, general tsao chicken, beef broccoli, etc etc. As I can get those in other places. Remember this is OCEAN Buffet, so stick to eating seafood and you will be satisfied. Although not the sushi as those looked tiny and dried up as well. The Pho was good, but make sure to tell them "just a little" of the rice noodles, otherwise they'll give you a huge portion. Stick with stuff you never tried, crabs, frog legs, fish, some of the pork stuff and you'll be fine.

One of my favs!! Such a variety of fresh foods, prepared in many styles: cooked, fried, baked, raw, Chinese, Japanese, American... and sooo inexpensive! One $9 ($8.49 + tax) plate full of veggies and fish, plus a few pieces of sushi, and hot tea, followed by a small dish of their yummmm Green Tea Ice Cream & 1 Almond Cookie fills me up! I watched peeps of all sizes (skinny, fat, big, tall, short, young and old) going back for 2nds and 3rds and, for the life of me, I can't figure out where they put it! * Disclaimer. I tried two plates of veggies, the 2nd without any more fish... never again; my gut hurt! Lots of seating, but if you're there after 1230p, expect to wait! Lots of parking, too.

Ocean is a pretty nice buffet, a bit on the smaller side but it is very cheap, and has sushi, pho, and some dim sum dishes. For the price you pay I feel it is worth it. I enjoy their crawfish, pho, and soups a lot!

This is in one sense a typical asian buffet but it is also more. There is a real sushi station where a wide variety of sushi is served (one kind had caviar on it!). The sushi chef was back there making the sushi and he did a great job of displaying it. It tasted fantastic. There was one piece that had a bit of strawberry in it, I was so intrigued I tried it and it was fantastic! The wasabi was the normal reconstituted stuff but they had put a tiny amount of salt on the pickled ginger a trick I had not seen before, it woke the ginger up! There is also a pho station. With the name you would expect a lot of seafood on the menu and you won't be disappointed, especially if you are a fan of shrimp. We were there for lunch and they were not serving crab legs but I'd bet their dinner service has it. It is a very busy place and the staff was busy refilling the buffet bars. I regret not trying the pho, it looked delicious. I'm a fan of buffets and C1 was maybe my favorite. Since Ocean is so close to C1, I've probably seen the last of the inside of C1.

This is my go to buffet. They have a smaller selection then hibachi or teppanyaki but I enjoy the food. They also have pho and sushi that's not bad. And they have ice cream cups instead of that watered down "ice cream" dispensers at other buffets

I personally have tried a majority of the buffets in Minnesota. I've also had the chance to visit a few in this area. I would say they are unique in couple aspects. 1. They serve more seafood than most others. --Crawfish, Mussles, Clams, Deep Fried Blue Crabs. 2. Dim Sum. --Short Ribs, Lotus Buns, and specialty items. 3. The have pho. Instead of a Mongolian grill they do have pho with a variety of noodles. Big seafood fan recently, certainly love the crawfish. When It comes to that most buffets just boil and then add seasoning. I can tell there these were different and soaked in a special sauce. The salt and pepper shrimp isn't too bad either. Here my experience: Atmosphere: 3 (They seat you like a herd all in one section so can get really loud) Food Quality: 4 (Seafood only - all other foods remained poor) Service: 5 (Not too interactive but attentive to removing plates) Cleanliness: 3 (Sticky tables and unclear areas) It's a buffet. 3.75 stars
