One of the best places to eat in NE. Small and cozy eating area. Friendly owners and workers. Food comes out pretty fast. The Italian sausages they use are very unique in taste. Nothing really like it. We get the spaghetti and sausage usually and it’s plenty to eat and delicious. Eat in, or take out. Good selection of soda’s and other stuff to drink. I’ve been eating there for a long time and it just slipped my mind to review it. If you’re in NE and hungry, give Marino’s a try.

I lived a block away for 10 years and stopped at least once a week. Things changed for me and I had to move out of the neighborhood. Recently a friend who knew of my love for your restaurant brought me an order of spaghetti and meatballs. It was as good as I remembered it to be! A real treat. I only wish I was back so I could have it more often. Keep up the great reputation.

I accidentally took a photo of my sandwich with Snap Chat and didn't save it so you all could see it, but the bread, the meat, and peppers/onions (I ordered the cheesesteak sub) was perfect! This might have been the best cheese steak sandwhich I've ever had and I've had them in Philly where I thought they were outstanding. My daughters had the chicken breast sub and the ravioli. Both said they were excellent. I love how friendly the entire staff was and I loved the convienent location just off from 35W only a few blocks on the easy Johnson st exit. Very convenient from the 'U', Roseville and Bethel. We will be back. For sure!!

Let me say life has changed for me since my intro to this wonder of deli by my coworker. I am actually excited when I am working jobs in Northeast for now I have my spot to forget about the world for a few. I cannot overstate how meticulously perfect this establishment nails every detail in what a neighborhood deli should be. Delicious beyond compare, for starters. Great prices, a timeless feeling like a set from your favorite movie. But the magic is intrinsic in the smallest of details. The sound of the old cash register, the way the staff interacts like family, the way you feel like your meal being served is like you're being brought into an old world family home. How the owner cares for you and his staff as they banter and joke over payroll, done on a old af counting machine from 1972. Easily in top 5 favorite Minneapolis spots. Actually stay away from here I don't want to share.

First time customer, we hosted a large gathering at our home and needed catering. Ralph was superb in his accommodation and responsiveness. Of the many quotes we received, Marino's was the most flexible, personable and affordable. Our guests were very happy with the quality of the pastas, sauces, breads and desserts. They offered options for pick-up vs delivery, hot takeout vs heat at home, and customized menus. I was happy to support a local small business and will certainly do it again. Great place!

When you want a good healthy meal they are there almost everyday of the week! They have great food and though I do tend to order the same thing I suspect that their entire menu is great. If comfort food can be defined as a sandwich, this is the place that can do it! Had an AMAZING sandwich from Marino's Deli on Cyber Monday! It was on my list to try this place - I have driven past it many times while doing errands. I ordered the Big Shot sandwich and my significant other ordered the Italian Meatball - both savory heaven, with soft bread, flavorful meats, sauce, and cheese. I also ordered a Peanut Butter cookie and chocolate chip cookie - again, nothing less than sweet heaven with a tender crumb. Friendly folks on the phone and at the counter, and doing social distancing right! Marino's Deli is definitely on my regular-visit list - I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu!

Its the best. If you haven't been here, its a mistake you cant rectify by going. Right now. If you are thinking about it, stop thinking and go. Been eating the take and bake pizzas since the mid 80's when my parents moved us to Nordeast. Now I live way across town, but I will still go back whenever I am in the area. Family owned, amazing Italian food. Please help support this minneapolis institution. Not many places like it left. Try the rigatoni if its the special, or call ahead and they'll make it for you any time. Great Italian sausage. Ive never ordered anything from here and been disappointed. I do a lot of construction in the area and always pass by Marino's on my way to Home Depot. Been meaning to stop in and check it out but always on the go. I finally made that stop today and now I am kicking myself for not stopping sooner! Service and food was great, not too mention their prices are a reason to stop in again as well! A close friend of mine went here for lunch. He met the owner and had some of their incredible food. The extremely generous owner had extra twins tickets and gave them to him. I would highly recommend this business to anyone. My friend has been going the through a tough time with his son in the hospital and a nurse recommended marino's deli to him for lunch. I had the stuffed Italian loaf. What I really like is their bread. Yummy! And their prices are reasonable. The place is a mainstay in NE Minneapolis. A throwback little Italian deli. Bathrooms are downstairs. Grandfathered in. An experience. They cater too. Graduations, funerals, school functions, business lunches, and church functions. They do great meat and cheese trays. Pasta dishes and sides. I know I order from them for many Church events and taste their stuff at grad parties and funerals.

Their meatball dip with melted mozzarella cheese is a solid #10. Super great. Fresh, home baked Vienna bread with real butter! Oiy!! The deli itself is clean & quaint, with the basics - table, chairs, etc. Prices are reasonable. Also, their catering is spot on. P. S. The deli has a long standing in the community. Check it out, you won't be sorry.

I'm a vegetarian so honestly I didn't think I would find anything on an Italian Deli menu that I could eat. We went there on recommendation of funeral director. We needed to get some food for the luncheon after my mother-in-law's funeral. I was so pleasantly surprised to find a pasta salad (can't recall the name, but it was a smallish round pasta filled with cheese, lots of veggies with a vinegar and oil dressing.) Anyway, the food was delicious and it was a unanimous decision to have them cater our luncheon.

Great local neighborhood place to grab homestyle Italian. I got the Sub-Marino, Big Shot (added sausage). I swapped out the chips for spaghetti, which was a good call - they have a great marinara. Wife got sausage & peppers, which had good flavor, but only got 1 sausage. Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu! Love supporting local NE eats.

I had the meatball lasagna. The sauce was darn near perfect to my tastes. The meatballs reminded me of my great grandmother's. The service was quick and really nice. The dining area is what you would expect of a neighborhood deli. It's clean and cozy.. plus there's italian ice and frozen ravioli, and s.o.s. (if you know what that is. ;-) ) that you can also purchase. I will most definitely be back.

I don't remember the first time I went to Marino's....I used to work at East Side Neighborhood Services (aka "The Nuthouse," to old Nordeasters), and lived at the corner of 8th & 2nd NE before I moved to the Northside, so it was sometime around then, I'm sure. Anyway, Marino's is one of the classic NE restaurants (along with Emily's Lebanese) nestled into a historically Italian-American community above the Quarry. It's small and no-frills, with a modest deli case that features a nice variety of all of the types of things you'd expect to find in an Italian deli-case: fresh cheese, jars of pasta sauces, etc. Their hoagies are some of the best in town, and they run daily specials in addition to the Italian staples featured on the regular menu, but I'm partial to the raviolo in pesto sauce. Add one generously sized, reasonably priced, and perfectly soft meatball. A great value and a heartwarming meal. I lived in Pittsburgh for three years where (worse) Italian delis are plentiful. Marino's is a place that will remind those of us who have lived in Chicago or "back East" of home. And as an Irish-American, I consider myself a bit of an expert on eating reasonably priced Italian food (bit of a cultural tradition). Try Marino's: you won't regret it!

Amazing little Italian deli, get the Armstrong. I have gone there several times and have always gotten great service and the food is excellent. The parking is a bit limited but there is a park near by if you want to sit outside. This is a great place to grab a quick lunch.

Great little Nordeast joint for quality food however the last time my wife was there they couldn't run her credit card while someone was on the phone and the older gal there proceeded to talk on the phone with her friend and then had another call that came in and talked to even longer. My wife had to stand there for over 5 minutes to pay for the order. Either get another line, talk on your cell phone or just get off the phone!

Not a fancy place but it has a whole lot of charm that you see in a mom and pop place that's been around for as long as it has. I always just order the daily special and haven't been disappointed yet. On top of the food you can also order deli meats and what not.

I go to Mount Carmel Church with the most kind and generous owner, Ralph. And until this day I had never been here. I knew exactly where it was, kitty corner from Que Vietnam the home of the best egg roll probably in the whole country. The big marino Italian club with mayo was amazing, and perfect sized, as in not massive like most food in minnesota. They had potato deli salad again home made. Small simple old school east coast style Italian corner deli. One of the last around here.

Back when I was growing up Northeast I was at Marino's all the time. It was 2 blocks away and their sandwiches were to die for. Now that I'm in my 30's I stop by there about once a week for lunch. The food is great even if you just stick with the basics like spaghetti or lasagne. Eat your lunch there and you'll hear the phone ringing off the hook for catering orders. Hang out and take in the old Northeast charm.

Update: Marinos still has the best pizza in NE hands down. Seriously. And it's only like 7-10$. I hadn't had it for several months because I just got lazy and wanted delivery from all the other places in ne that deliver pizza. Had it again and my mind was blown. Way better than all the delivery places, including local pizza shops. Totally worth getting off the couch and picking one up. Don't forget the cholula! Orig. Post: Best pizza in nordeast.
