Nice seating and the servers are great. Good draft beer selection and wine choices, especially welcome is the choice of ounces on the wine pour. Food is pretty good I think it's overpriced. Avoid the Maryland style crab cakes. The Korean meatballs are not a hit they're way too sweet. The Brussels sprouts are the win. Just come here and order a couple of beers and get about a bale of brussel sprouts. The Tennessee Hot Chicken sandwich was simply okay. The spice is nice. The chicken is a chicken breast so of course it's dry and sad. The sauce that is provided on the table will make everything okay.

Loved our experience here! We arrived shortly before 6 pm on Friday and were able to take advantage of the happy hour ($2 off all drinks). The wine was delicious! I can't remember which one but it was the featured cab for $22). I had the clam chowder and was very impressed and the jambalaya which was also very favorable. Our server was attentive and friendly. We definitely will be back!

Still waiting on the food, but I thought I'd leave a note now on the extremely "pleasant" hostess that admonished us for not having a reservation. We explained that when we called they said no reservation was needed. She told us she "prefers if we do" whatever the hell that means. I'd prefer she do her job without a bunch of attitude but we can't always get what we want can we? There was ample seating available. Here's hoping the food's better than the greeting. Food overall was good even if the portions seemed a bit meager. Caesar salad was well dressed and the dressing was tasty. Fish fry was fresh and crispy although aesthetically it lacked that GBD exterior. Fries were solid and the coleslaw (which is often the weakest link in fish fries) was good as well.

The lobster quiche was the best quiche I've ever had! Lobster bisque was pretty good as well. The lunch special is a good deal. Nice, upscale atmosphere, friendly waitress. I'm not a fan of their lobster rolls but I'll be back for drinks and pie!

Atmosphere was welcoming. The Mac & Cheese was too runny for me. The French Toast was nothing spectacular. It was still good food. I would definitely go back and try some more menu items. The “drinks” were tasty too.

Great service, nice atmosphere and good food. The lobster roll was good, although the bread was kind of ordinary. The cocktails were pretty decent as well. I’d consider the restaurant in between casual and nicer dining, but not quite to the fine dining level. I’d come back to try more things.

Wow, this is my new favorite restaurant in south metro. I was furniture shopping in Bloomington and stopped by for a drink and a few apps. Ordered lettuce wraps, crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and Seafood Campechana. Everything was great. I’m excited to return for dinner some time. Parking was easy.

The hot Nashville chicken tenders were perfect! Crispy and spicy and not at all greasy. Staff was great, not too busy at lunch so it was easy to get a table.

Went here for Mother’s Day Brunch, took a little while to get a waitress but that wasn’t a big deal as we just started browsing the cold bar. Service was prompt and accommodating, the food was alright, nothing special but not bad either. Overall we had a good experience and my wife enjoyed her breakfast with the family which is most important!

Honestly the best meal I’ve had in a long time and we travel all over and eat out all of the time! Bartenders were great (Robb… with two B’s), overall vibe of the place was great. People working here are all in a good mood and food was delicious! What else could you ask for! I got the Salmon and it was seriously the best. Order it! My boyfriend ordered the Jumbalaya and loved it.

Fun hangout spot in Bloomington, they have pull tabs here along with an ATM. Easy location to get to and delicious food. Bit spendy but I guess everything is right now. Cheers to the next drink here!

Great location right next to Home 2 Suites. Was late Friday evening when we got here. Wasn't too busy very laid back atmosphere. Had AMAZING service by Billy. Our first time here Billy suggested we get the bread for starters ( I don't remember the name) anyways just get it. It was so YUMMY! Husband ended up getting the Tennessee Chicken sandwich which was spicy he loved it. They also have different seafood options. Very good beer on tap as well. We really liked the Mango beer. We had great service and a great time. Thank you Billy you were GREAT!! When we come back to the area we will make a stop here again.

You think I lost my mind taking my parents here from the Pacific Northwest for some seafood...in Minnesota. Yet we were all pleasantly surprised and ecstatic. Amazing brunch with incredible pinch yourself prices, kind staff, and legit good seafood in Minnesota. Went back for dinner tonight and from the catch of the day to the fish and chips, everything was amazing and delicious.

Tried the new Grammy's meatloaf for an early dinner today. The mashed potatoes are made with skin on red potatoes, they are seasoned and mashed to perfection! The green beans have a crunch and great flavor (mushroom in the sauce for those allergic to them. The meatloaf leaves something to be desired. Without the sauce, seasoning is somewhat under-enhanced. With the sauce, I can't get past the breadish undertone of the meatloaf. The sauce on it is ketchup based and just a bit too sweet for my tastes. Excellent service and a nice scene/atmosphere to enjoy a meal or happy hour.

Everyone that works at Mallards is amazing! From the hosts to our server, Charlie, to those that bussed tables. The entire staff was friendly, professional, kind, and genuine. Charlie gave us exceptional service and we chose to dine outside. The food was delicious and Charlie made great suggestions. We even took dessert home and I couldn't believe the flavor. I highly suggest the pumpkin cake! We will definitely be back sooner than later. If you're looking for a new place try, stop by Mallards, you will not be disappointed!

Stopped in a little after 5 for an early dinner - the bar was packed but the restaurant was wide open. Drinks came out fast and the wait staff were attentive. Both my wife and I ordered the fish and chips which again came out quickly. The crust was crispy and the fish wasn't over cooked. Definitely will be going back.

Ate at lunch. Friendly staff, attentive service, attractive setting, nicely varied menu. We had the tropical seaside salad, which was attractively plated and a delicious blend of flavors. The pumpkin cake dessert was also delicious. A friendly, relaxing place for lunch.

Consistently good food and service. A staple in our restaurant rotation. We had a group of six who have all been to Mallard's before. I had the Harvest Salad, which was excellent, and the Mac and Cheese, which was sub-par. It was very runny and pretty flavorless, so I won't be getting it again. We also shared the key lime pie, which was not good either. Crab cake and walleye appetizers were wonderful and everyone else enjoyed their meals, so the two disappointments aren't concerning.

Must get Elote Corn Fritters! Layers of flavor . Perfectly cooked. Crispy outside then fluffy inside. The salmon topped with crab was absolutely delicious! My server was kind and attentive. It was so dang good that I am nervous to try it again. Can anything top this visit or even match it? Lol. Thanks for the quality.

I would have given 5 stars as the food was pretty good and I'd go back, however, the garnishes on the drinks all looked like they had seen way better days. From the limes they looked like lemons to the mint leaves and strawberries... Honestly, if it looks that bad, you are better off not putting it on at all. Sets a bad tone for what to expect from the food.

Came here for a friend’s birthday brunch. We sat at a high-top in the bar so we (really I) could watch football. It was all-day HH and bottomless mimosas! Nicholas, our server/bartender, was phenomenal! Will definitely be back!

Former Red Robin is now a renovated Mallard's. Cuisine has something for everyone! I recommend the lunch combo with the turkey club and lobster bisque. I look forward to going back for dinner sometime.

Breakfast is a new offering. In the hour plus that we were in the restaurant we only saw two other patrons. Service was exceptional, food offerings are unique with a Mallard's twist. We will go back.

First visit on a weekday at 2pm for lunch with my daughter. Service was very, very slow and it wasn’t busy. Got incorrect sandwich, but it was a fast fix. Didn’t get checked back on until we were well done waiting for check. Food was decent, but very overpriced for portion size.

We had the Nashville “Hot”chicken sandwich, ( was hot loved the heat level),Lobster roll,( was worth the price, the lobster was cooked well),and a cheese plate. Over all bright and clean space. Don’t really understand the spinach, balsamic, candy nut pile on the cheeseboard. The cheese choice was good.

Not the best experience. We arrived and stood at the front waiting to be seated. No employee greeted us for at least 5 minutes. We were seated and was greeted by waitress Samantha and were given water. I asked for a drink vodka cranberry with a lime. It took 15 minutes to get drink, that looked watered down with no lime and a cherry in it. The person who brought the drink we asked if we could order because our waitress hasn’t been back to table and we were unable to gain her attention while she was cleaning tables. We were unable to gain attention of staff to get the lime that was missing so my mother went up to the bar, no employee was there so she grabbed some limes with a tooth pick. The drink didn’t taste correct, and when the food arrived I informed waitress that it was wrong and so she brought me a new one. Food was good and that’s the only reason I gave 3 stars. I wanted another drink , and informed waitress when she dropped off bill. She never asked if we wanted anything else before bringing bill. This experience was at 7 pm on Wednesday 5/18/22. It was not extremely busy at this time.

Went there with a group of 5 for the firs time the other night. Everything was good. Nothing totally blew our socks off, but nothing was bad. Service was fine. No complaints, a solid experience, we were just hoping for more somehow. We will try it again since the menu does have a lot of fun looking items on it.

Fairly nice place. They appeared to be overwhelmed staff wise although it was not super busy. Our waiter acted new and gawky spilling water on our table twice. For the money i expected better.

Stopped in for a quick bite and was greeted by a friendly bar keep. Ordered the fish and chips. Fantastic! The first thing that I sensed when I came in was that this is a friendly, "Real" environment. The manager, Heather, was talking to a vendor in a straight up and friendly manner. After overhearing pieces of the conversation, I finished my meal and approached her, commending her on her tact and professionalism. Folks, these people are great! The prices won't break the bank and you will leave satisfied. I will be back!

My wife had the lobster roll and it was better than Smack Shacks. The cheeseburger was juicy and the fixings seemed fresh. The beer list was tilted local and not super extensive, but there was something for everyone. Decent wine and cocktails menu too. Might be that I am not out much lately and don't understand the inflation, but the total was more than I anticipated. Seemed like the staff was not communicating well, as we waited quite a bit after being seated before the server knew we needed help. Good first visit, we'll go back.

We loved this place! I had the Mediterranean Shrimp Pasta which was amazing. So flavorful. My husband had Surf & Turf, our friend had Jambalaya and both were very happy with their food. Our server was great…attentive and fun. We will be back!!

We arrived 15 minutes before closing time and nonetheless were cheerfully greeted and seated. The menu offered plenty of choices, all with surprisingly modest prices. Our food was promptly served by competent and friendly wait staff and was hot and delicious. We were treated to cookies, still warm from the oven, that arrived with our bill. We certainly will visit again the next time we are in the area!

All four of us love our food. The brussels sprouts were excellent and the Tennessee Hot Chicken Sandwich was phenomenal. I docked a star because the chicken wasn't very hot (Our server said it would be 7 out of 10 on the heat scale...I'd give it a 4, max) and the guy who brought out our apps was kind of creepy. He made a weird joke about his body odor which is not what we want to hear before we eat.

We came in on 4/13 and had very good service. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great selection of drinks and an a nice sized tap beer menu luckily we were in time for happy hour. The food menu has a very nice variety of food selections. Can’t wait to go back to try different items.

Absolutely wonderful. I got the Blackened Fish Tacos which were amazing. My Uncle, who was visiting from Texas, was amazed at how authentic and delicious these tacos were. My mother absolutely loved her chicken sandwich. The waitress was very very kind, helpful, and made sure we enjoyed our meal! This restaurant was amazing and I’ll be visiting again.

My family enjoyed a dinner at Mallard's in Bloomington, MN. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was my first visit to the establishment and they served fish and chips so I had to try their rendition. I rate it a 4/5 as they were very similar to those I tried at both Park Tavern and Granite City Food and Beverage. The fish was plentiful and cooked perfectly. The fries (chips) were above average and the Cole slaw was average. The the tartar sauce was so-so but fine as a dip for the fries. The one deficiency was the wimpy fried batter on the fish. Although it had decent crispinness, it was not coated evenly on the fish and gave little support when trying to eat the very flaky fish. A big plus is that they had malt vinegar which is a must have. Our server was great: knowledgeable about the offerings and with just a bit of cheeky banter. I will likely return when in the area and try some of the other dishes.

Stopped at the Inner Grove Heights location on a road trip and had the Lobster Roll and the Nashville hot chicken sand which.... I have eaten Mallards take-out 3 days in a row ever since... So thankful that they opened this location in Bloomington. The food is so amazing and such great prices for the quality. Another favorite of mine is the cheese plate. The staff is wonderful! I placed an order to go during a busy time, and they had the food ready extremely quick. So happy I found my go-to place for lobster rolls!

Update: After having an issue at this restaurant a couple weeks ago for over charging my credit card… I wanted to update my old review. The manager (Heather) contacted me right away and wanted to fix the problem asap. She was very professional. She not only returned the money that I was over charged…but also invited me back to try them again with a gift card (that I was not expecting at all!). The part that impressed me the most was the sincere apology letter that was included. I can tell Heather is truly a great manager and will probably give this place a second chance because of her. Kudos to Heather! Beware of this place. I visited the Bloomington restaurant on 2/15 at about 6:45pm. We had dinner and then paid the bill. The bill was $40.30 and I left a cash tip. I have a charge on my credit card for $50.30. There were two pending transactions…one for $40.30 and another for $10. There was something fishy with how my credit card was handled, either by the server or the credit card machine.

Mallards Restaurant is a fabulous place to go for dinner or lunch and drinks. Pull tabs too! A bar if you choose and the best food ever. I had a great experience for the first time. Customer service is excellent and it's fantastic all the way around. It's in Bloomington so close to home and I will be back again and again!:)

First time here and the food was amazing. The restaurant is very clean, servers are friendly, and the food was hot, hot, hot! (In a good way lol) Even my kid enjoyed her chicken tenders and fries, which doesn't always happen. They were not very busy, new restaurant and all (July 2021), so the food came out hot and fresh. The blackened salmon was so juicy and cooked perfectly. We had the Thai chicken lettuce wraps as an appetizer and they were delicious, a little spicier than I normally like things but so worth the burn. I can't wait to go back!

We were excited to see the opening of this restaurant in Bloomington. Our group of 4 had jambalaya and fried shrimp and fries. The shrimp were cooked perfectly with a very thin light batter. The jambalaya had lots of shrimp and sausage. BUT, the restaurant is SO LOUD the servers couldn’t even hear our orders or questions. We left quickly as it got to be almost impossible to converse. The food was good, but only if you are alone with no desire to talk to others at your table.

We loved their Nashville hot chicken sandwich! I've had the real thing in TN, and this is the best one I've had in MN. Would also highly recommend the Korean tacos. Portions were good too. I'd caution against the lobster mac and cheese though. Ours was very liquidy and more like a soup, which diluted the cheese flavor. Would definitely come back for the first two items and try others. Service was great!

Fantastic! I got the Nashville hot chicken littles and my wife got the catch of the day (parmesan crusted walleye) and we were both very happy with our choices. The chicken was very juicy and the Comeback sauce it came with paired perfectly with the hot chicken. My wife's walleye was light and honestly one of the better fish entrees I've tried. Glad this place is in town!

Very nice conversion from red Robin, kept most of the design and layout that worked but upscaled it a bit with a new color scheme. Walleye bites were tasty crisp and delicious. The accompanying tarter sauce was bright and flavorful. Lobster quiche was decident, with just enough lobster to not be overpowering. The salad it came with was well done but nothing I'd write home about. The fried goat cheese ball was a welcome addition to the plate adding a bold flavorful note to go with the lobster. My partners tomato basil soup was amazing, surprisingly thick but it worked well. Her accompanying sandwich was well prepared and Im told it was good too but didn't try it. Cokes felt a bit watery and under charged, not the best soda mix but I'd just order something else next time rather than dock them a star for it. Very attentive staff, never wanted for anything but they also were not very busy.

The food was alright but needs to be better. My husband ordered the walleye sandwich which he said, "overall was dry." Came with a sauce on the side but unsure if it was for the smashed up potato chips on the plate. I ordered the lobster quiche which was ok as I saw tiny pieces of lobster and tasted a little of lobster. I discovered shells in the quiche which is unpleasant. The salad was nice but the dressing needed salt and more excitement. The three stars is because the service was slow and the waiter walked around and not paying attention. He gave us the wrong check and waited longer than we should have.

This is the 4th Mallard's to be opened around the Twin Cities Metro. I've always heard good things, so when the Bloomington location opened I figured, why not? Let's give it a shot. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. Huge space, nice patio area and good food. I am writing this review after my third visit, and I will say this. The food and drinks are city prices and oftentimes come with large portions for the price. It has a pleasant decor but gets loud on a Friday night. It has the feel of a chain restaurant but higher quality food (which comes with the price). If you're looking to try some place different and money isn't a big deal I would check this out. There are items that are not as expensive. And out of all the items I've tried, I would say 85% have been worth ordering.

The quality of the food was OK. They are doing I think a pretty good job for midwestern seafood, but were absolutely great when it came to customer service. I will be trying this location again, as it definitely hit the spot for a lobster roll that didnt break the bank

The bar guy Tom was very pleasant and a really nice guy. Made a great recommendation on the Jambalaya. It was great. If you are a Jambalaya purist it is slightly different but measures up well.

It was a slower time of the day when we arrived. It was after the lunch rush had already been done. So we had the place to ourselves with about 6 other tables. We ordered a couple of lunch combos that were 1/2 sandwich & soup/salad. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. They were Chicken Salad and Turkey Club. We will be making this one of our regular stops.

Carly is definitely one of my fave servers for life. I like a lot of diff foods but am also picky. She picked my tea, my martini (I'm sick but also needed to celebrate lol) 2 apps and my entree and literally I couldn't have been happier with any of them! So go there and get her if you can 🤩

Incredible staff helped us with choices for our first visit here The flavor of the slaw that's served with their appetizer meat balls was outstanding! I'll be getting the meatballs again for sure! Lobster roll is better than Smack Shack. They serve the tender crab cold...just state you want warm crab if that is your preference. Loved the flavors of the bruschetta pesto pasta! What a unique idea! Drinks are uptown prices if not on happy hour, but made deliciously. Warm apple pie had an insane buttery crust. We will definitely be going back to try different menu items!
