Stumbled upon this place by pure coincidence and we are so glad we did. The food was amazing and it’s a perfect spot for a date night or just grabbing a nicer dinner with friends. My date got the daily 4 course tasting meal and I got pasta and Caesar salad and every bite of food that we had was amazing. Our server was also so kind and funny!! We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back.

My wife and came here a few months back for dinner and I unfortunately keep forgetting to review our experience!... We did not any reservations but were greeted kindly and seated immediately! Our waitress was wonderful and her recommendations were spot on. Our was very fresh and perfectly portioned! It was wonderfully quiet and romantic and I highly recommend going here!

My husband and I have driven past Luci Ancora many times and always thought we should go sometime. We finally went tonight and what a treat it was to dine there! Our server was amazing the entire time and made the evening that much more special. We devoured every morsel and drop that was put in front of us, enjoying every dish we chose! We highly recommend going, and we will definitely be back. PS the vanilla creme brulee was a revelation! 😉👍👍👍

We had an absolutely wonderful time dining here tonight. We had excellent service from beginning to end. Tables were separated to a respectable distance, all staff wore masks properly, and they had the cool healthcare grade filtration system in place so we felt quite comfortable here. We got the crostini appetizer along with a few drinks are were in heaven immediately. We then moved on to the spaghetti carbonara and the fettuccini con funghi. Again, this was superb food. Finally, we got a chocolate cake dessert and tiramisu cheesecake. I couldn’t get enough of any of this. They nailed all the little details and this might have been become our new favorite pasta joint.

We came here for a family dinner on Sunday. There was plenty of seating available. The place is wheel chair accessible and the tables are too. Would recommend stopping by of you want to have a quieter place for your group to hear each other. The wait staff was friendly and was very helpful (we had a large group with a few questions about food choices and the specials) The food took a while to come out (could have seemed longer as I was starving). It was worth the wait through. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I recommend getting an appetizer though if you are really hungry.

This place is phenomenal! We dined outside on the patio and even though the restaurant is on a busy street, it was very pleasant. The food was amazing, fresh and full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and gave is great recommendations for all of our courses. For dessert definitely get the coconut panna cotta with the strawberry rhubarb sauce, the perfect way to end the meal. Luci Ancora is a must go for any occasion.

What a Gem of a restaurant. The braised short rib was phenomenal. It's a long drive from Le Sueur but, we are definitely going back. Than you Mikaela for the great service as well as your expertise on describing and accommodating our table on the menu.

This is a very small, local restaurant with good food and friendly service. A more traditional italian experience than most big box stores. The menu is small and has some seasonal tweaks. The pasta is home made and the food is all prepared well.

My wife and I went here for the New Years Eve dinner. They served a four course meal on a fixed menu, with three choices for each course for $80 per person. The food itself was delicious and the atmosphere was delightful. However, the service was lackluster and the portions were extremely small. We both left nearly as hungry as when we arrived. I would not recommend Luci Ancora for dinner. If you want a $200 appetizer, this is the place for you!

Mixed review. Food is QUITE good, but the portions are so small it leaves you wanting more. The price is fair, I just want MORE. Also, the atmosphere is that of a suburban living room, not a neighborhood eatery. It was weird.

Fantastic service, everyone there is so kind. This is the true hidden gem of Minnesota restaurants. Fresh pasta made with freshly milled flour is a combination that is really hard to beat, especially when the chef prepares it perfectly. We had the fried mozzarella (which was light, fresh, bright, but slightly underwhelming), two short ribs, pasta specials, and a carbonara that was to die for. I'll admit that the particular creme brulee we got was just fine and nothing more, but everything else made this a truly special experience. It is a small, quiet, cozy restaurant and we all loved our experience.

My hub and I went out for our first real date in almost a year and had the most delicious meal (homemade pasta!) in Luci Ancora's warm and welcoming neighborhood space. Our server was gracious and helpful in guiding our menu decisions, including which wine to pair with our meal. We appreciated the safely-spaced tables and the commercial-grade air purifier in place to protect diners and staff. Can't wait to return for more of everything!

Top notch Italian food. Excellent service. The appetizer, main courses and desserts were all superb. However I walked out feeling hungry and ate another meal when I got home. I hate to leave a restaurant feeling hungry, especially after a 170.00 bill, hence the four stars (I’m not big at 6’ 1”, 170 lbs). My wife and elderly parents cleaned their plates which never happens.

The food was ok not great, but our server was excellent. She was very professional and gave my friend and me plenty of time to catch up without feeling rushed to order or finish our food. We each had a glass of wine (happy hour price which was really good), a mozzarella appetizer (which was also from the happy hour menu and it was quite tasty), each of us had a small Caesar salad from main menu (which was not very good), and then I had their spaghetti carbonara main menu (tasted like boxed pasta with no flavor) and my friend had that night's special which was a risotto dish (which she liked). I really had wanted to love this neighborhood restaurant but the decor was old, parking lot small, and the food was mediocre. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 was the server we had was fantastic!

Delicious food, menu changes regularly so don't go strictly off of their website. I only saw vegetarian options, it is possible they will do vegan if asked, but not positive. Dress code I saw is business casual to formal dress.

We went last night for the first time after countless years driving past and saying "we should really go there sometime". We really enjoyed the experience and would go back. I had the spaghetti with bacon and my wife had the marinara and angel hair pasta. This place is obviously known for their homemade pasta and it shows. The Caesar salad was underwhelming and the red wine was served a bit warm for my preference hence 4 vs 5 stars.

This place is a gem! The BEST food, service, everything. I've not had anything off the menu that wasnt absolutely delicious. Even things that I was afraid to try, I fell in love with. I always forget to take photos, but trust me, its beautiful food. And so fresh. It's a nice, intimate and cozy atmosphere. Great place for a date. I usually go with a girlfriend group and it's perfect for that too. I just realized last night they have some great happy hour specials, too. They do no wrong in my book! Highly recommend!

I ordered take out online, the lamb and the penne chicken! When I arrived to pick it up, I noticed they had 3 empty tables with umbrellas outside. I asked a staff member if it would be possible for us to eat our take out food at one of their tables and they were so accommodating; asked if we wanted our food plated instead, brought us delicious bread with butter and glasses of water! Once we began eating, we were in heaven! The meals were delicious, so flavorful and satisfying. It was my 3rd time to this restaurant over the years and I'll keep going back due to the wonderful food and kind service! Thank you!

I really enjoyed Luci Ancora. I have several food allergies and they made sure to prepare a dish I could eat. The staff was helpful and they have a great selection of wines and spirits. The food is all made from scratch and it's very good. The place is also very inviting and open with lots of windows, which I liked!

It’s a cosy,small restaurant with a great service. What distinguishes this place from others is their delicious bread! In United States good quality bread is a very rare treat.So when we came to this restaurant we immediately tasted the difference and still remember it. Keep baking your own bread,remain different! The service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was light and delicious. We enjoyed meeting the owner as well, and we will be back to try the spaghetti carbonara!

Had the special of the day, salmon w/ lobster mushrooms. It was wonderfully cooked and the Ceasar salad was great. They offer a wine flight to go with what you ordered(you can pick or they will choose wines that compliment your dinner selection for you), so a wine tasting of sorts with the meal if you elect. Would go again. I bit pricey but worth it.

We've been here many times. The service is always great. Dinner tonight was really kind of a disappointment. It left both of us still hungry. Entree choices were not a good match with what we were looking for. The appetizers and salad were undistinguished. We will come again of course and see if they do better next time.

Located off the beaten path in the heart of a nostalgic Saint Paul community you will receive a pleasant dining experience. The parking lot can become full, especially during dinner time so be sure to arrive early in the event you have to locate street parking. The dining room feels comfortable, warm and is decorated in an elegant italian decor. The staff are very diligent and welcoming, we were immediately seated in a table near the window, we ensured to make reservations. The atmosphere is quiet, regardless of how full the dining room is and the tables are located a distance from each other to ensure no conversation flow over. My observations of the customer base told me there is a core customer base whom frequent this establishment regularly. They provide a wonderful selection of wines, I typically choose an italian wine in an establishment like this and found a very good wine off of the wine menu. The spaghetti carbonara was absolutely wonderful and just as it is prepared in Italy, light and flavorful. They also provide vegetarian options many include pasta and they are willing to work with your preferences. I also recommend the flourless chocolate tart and an espresso. The price point seems excellent and I don't think you will be disappointed. Cheers!

Went for a Monday night date, small space but very welcoming. We shared a flight of wine, got the tomatoes to go with the homemade bread. Wife had a pasta that was delicious, I ordered the manzo andd will be back to get it again! The creme brulee is delicious, we will get it for takeout in the future. We will be back with friends and family!!

Decent, tasty, if somewhat small portions. Exceptionally slow service, particularly for our first drink. (Bartender got distracted by a friend or a regular - couldn't tell - but the result was our cocktails took over 15 minutes to arrive, with no bread, no appies offered in the meantime. Totally ignored by waiter and bartender alike. Only the hostess kept our water glasses full. Big whoop.🙄

Very underrated restaurant . Excellent service, friendly staff and very well sourced and prepared Italian food. My wife and I love to sample the great restaurants in the Twin Cities. Luci Ancora stands up to them and is doing a great job with simple, high quality ingredients and making dishes that you would expect to get in an Italian Trattoria. They are making pastas and bread with heritage wheat, using a local small gardeners produce when applicable. I am very impressed. It was much more than I expected . The Gnocci special with local chanterelles and sage oil was sublime. The lightest, loveliest gnocci I've had anywhere. Looking forward to trying a few more dishes on our next visits .

Best Italian food in the Twin Cities! It's always a struggle to decide what to order because Chef Steve is always has some new delicacy on the menu, but you can't go wrong with anything. While the carbonara and penne alla luci are always a delight, the lamb taglierini is out of this world. I could eat it ever week! The Smith family are truly gracious hosts and so accommodating. And if you are ordering takeout, know that they do a great job with pasta, which can be difficult. When we've done takeout the food has always been hot and fresh and the pasta cooked just right!

We tried this restaurant for New Year's Eve with another couple-despite driving by it for several years neither of us had ever been. The menu was prix fixe with four courses (three options for each course) for $55 so between the four of us we were able to sample nearly everything. We also opted for the wine flight to accompany each course. Overall the service was great, as was the wine, however the food was hit or miss. The antipasto course was okay but nothing stood out. The biggest disappointment was the insalata course-even the Caesar salad (an Italian staple) was poorly executed with bits of frozen lettuce and no Parmesan cheese. Fortunately the pastas during the primo hit the mark with homemade noodles and the meat dishes during the secondo course were excellent. The wines were paired well and unique however with only two of the four courses being good enough to be something we'd order again the menu failed to impress overall. From looking over their everyday menu we'd be willing to give Luci another but not for NYE.

Fresh homemade pasta is an art, and an underappreciated one at that around here. Luci excels in that regard. The pasta dishes took us back to Italy. I'd argue for slightly more adventurous starters and an interior refresh (or at least dimmed lighting), but those are minor issues. Also, butter packets in place of fresh butter undermines the restaurant's from-scratch approach. Again, come here for the amazing pasta dishes.

One Longstory

I ordered two entrees and a caprese appetizer for an impromptu dinner. We had it delivered using bite squad because we both were tearfully grieving the loss of a dear friend. Bite squad rocks and so does the food at this establishment! The scallops (Diver's scallops) were mouth watering and perfectly prepared even with the added delivery time the service required. The braised shortribs, delicious and the risotto base was perfection. Honestly, the authentic cuisine was a resounding 5-star. The portions are very small, not enough for the grieving seeking respite in gourmet Italian comfort food. Additionally, the delivery containers were paper hotdog trays - they were falling apart and soaked up way too much of the deliciousness before it was enjoyed. Better containers for delivery and a half-again larger portion and I would rate Luci Ancora a solid 5-star. Bon appetite!
